Synopsis
‘My enemy, my friend, my love, my pain. He was everything and more to me. My protector and my warden. Most importantly, especially for you, he was my leash.’
________
Ísar Jovevski, the King of Ogronevia. Praised as a good king, a blessing from the gods, a mighty king. Kind and benevolent king. The greatest King in the kingdom’s history, never mind that his bloody ascension was a bad omen. A man holding a darkness that could consume him as well as everyone around him, if not for his childhood friends. If not for his love for Xinghua Li.
Imperial Son Li Xinghua of the Qianlong Empire. A prince, a martial artist, a warrior and Ísar’s childhood friend. The only person in the world that was able to make Ísar nervous and stumble over his words.
He loved him. A kind of love where he could not breathe nor exist if the other were not in his life. The kind of love where one’s heart jumped to the throat from a mere smile.
The kind of love that turned into a double-edged sword. Where if it were lost—no—broken, the pieces would harm all.
And none could’ve avoided the cuts of its shards.

[Excerpt]
The shores were stained with thick, black blood. The stench of rotten corpses filled the air as the ocean’s breeze swept over his kneeling form.
Ísar stared at the endless void that was the ocean. He barely registered the tears running down his cheeks as he watched the sun rise. The celestial source slowly moved high above his little kingdom and Ísar continued to stare.
The screams coming from behind him were muffled background noise.
“My King! My King, please! Please spare me!”
He didn’t know who that was. The voice was familiar but nothing came to mind. It didn’t matter, in the end. Nothing truly mattered anymore.
He squeezed the old and worn out plush toy close to his chest. The fabric was tearing and the little ox toy had never looked uglier.
He stared down at it and with a sad smile and teary voice, he said, “You don’t smell like him anymore. Nothing smells like him anymore. Please come back. Please. I miss you, my big star. I miss you.”

Inspired by Edgar Allen Poe and Gothic Themes
[FKRV is a tragedy fantasy romance with both positive (found family, childhood friends, first loves) and negative themes (loss, grief, loneliness, suicidal ideation, murder). There will also be more mature chapters in the future which I’ll put a R18 warning for. Happy reading!]

Write a reviewA sarcastic but weirdly loveable MC. He is smart, assertive and decisive. The unique plot is amazing, the twist is catchy and the haunting, exhilarating. It is simply too good~ First paragraph and I was hooked! I need more[img=update][img=update]
I loved how the story started in the first chapter . I could see everything in front of me it imeresed me in the story . It's really catchy and intriguing . The synopsis is written really good and it caught my attention to start reading . Recommended to everyone give it a try and you will not regret
Well aside from LGBT the story looks good 👍 keep up the good work bro. I already read the first part and it seems it's good (I personally like when there is a mass murder in a scene)
This book has good writing and narration. The story beginning has a bit gore but I guess that depends in the reader's imagination, since the narration is somewhat detailed. It's a good read, though a little suggestion that I hope the author won't take offense - the synopsis is too short and vague, adding a bit more about the story won't hurt^^, that's all. Keep up the updates coming!🙌
The synopsis is very well written, amazing story play, I think the author is good with his fingers (Get the pun), Exhilarating experience imo. The author has done the work and put out its effort. I wouldn't say best in the field but one of a kind out there. If this work continues, definitely it would the hit the pinnacle. Altho I advice the author to change the cover to something more attractive for more reach.....
The title of this novel is so intriguing, along with the first snippet of the synopsis. After reading both, I immediately knew I’d want to dive into this story!! I think the author has a good grasp on creating a good villain—how they’re made and what drives them. I also love how the MC isn’t some mindless monster just committing evil for the plot, but there’s a reason he’s the way he is! I really enjoyed what’s released of the novel so far, and I’m so excited to get to the parts where the ML is introduced! I can tell the author has put a lot of thought and effort into this story, and for that I want to say great job!! Keep working hard and striving to be great ❤️. I’m rooting for you!
I get the feeling that he will be a perfect villain , which makes me quite excited to read more .The hook at the beginning , the plot so far , the writing style are all executed very well .I think the author did a great job !
An interesting novel to say the least. The drama is there, the attitude is there, and the boldness is there(most of the time). It all makes a funny and interesting reading experience. I also feel the direction of this novel can bring something new. So best of luck writing!
I love this story already, the relationship between the characters are well written, the plot is good, the setting is good and the story overall feels new and refreshing. 💕🤍
Great story, I am really hooked. Loved the murder scene and everything about the start of the book though it might be to descriptive for some people. Really liked how the author writes.

Can’t believe I never got around to the shameless Author Review lol. Hey everyone! This is my first novel on WN and I really hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy writing it. FKRV is a dark fantasy BL where we watch the MC’s rise to being a belovelent King and we watch how forces outside his control spiral him to the path of a villain. It holds themes of found families and love but also generational trauma and pasts catching up to bring happiness down. It takes inspiration from Edgar Allen Poe, Gothic culture and Historical systems of monarchies. Give it a chance and let me hear your thoughts! Ito, out!
