Chapter 23: You Have Died

It was too quiet.

Ísar had gone back to his usual routine the day after Xinghua left and the absence of both princes was heavily felt by him.

Everywhere he went, it was just a little too quiet, and he almost found it funny how him of all people was complaining about that. Almost. He was too lonely to actually find his situation humorous.

"Will you be attending the garden tea party this coming weekend, your majesty?"

Ísar didn't look up to respond to Baron Louis, one of the noble workers within the castle's accounting department.

"If time allows," he said as he continued to look through the reports regarding his tax reform, the luxury tax scheduled to be implemented by the following week. He'd gotten many letters of agreement after the ball two nights before so it was time to get that sorted.
