Chapter 39: I’m Running Out of Time

Ísar had never seen such bloodshed.

The appearance of the cyclops had turned the battle into another massacre. Osayi had immediately pulled back, Ísar still in his arms. They were back beside Dame Toby who was mumbling prayers to herself as she watched the eldritch monster swallow one of her paladins in one gulp.

Even the remaining holy flanes that was burning away at the monster's grey skin was barely stopping the beast's rampage. It looked at the humans like it had just been served a buffet.

"Our King. Breathe."

Sigrun's voice wasn't helping with his rising panic.

"It is just another beast, breathe. You know what to do. Think like a King."
