Next day 8 am., Daiyu got ready as she had to go for a interview and messaged Shu to meet her near the Darra cafe.
Shu met her at the cafe, and they talked for an hour, after she gave Daiyu their  business card which Daiyu kept in her purse without having a look at it as she was in a hurry to go for her interview. 

I am sorry but now I have to take a leave I have to go to a interview, said Daiyu. And yeah if we'll meet next time than I'll be the one in charge of the bill, okay. Bye!

Okay we'll see, and I enjoyed this little date, Shu replied.

(At the office where Daiyu had the interview)

While I was waiting outside the cabin, a woman came rushing towards the receptionist where she asked her about her name in the interview list, but the receptionist informed her that her name has been stroked out because she was an hour late, than that woman called someone on her phone; Hello Mrs. Richard its Ellie here, will you please be there in the hospital with my son I'll be late, as I am searching for a job.

(After keeping the phone);

Excuse me mam can't you do anything about it?she asked the receptionist in a worried tone.

Sorry to say but I can't help you, only if someone from the girls who came for the interview wants to switch the names with  you than it is possible, thanI can change yours name to hers name, but that girl will lose this interview, she replied. 

Oh my God, why would anyone give away their place for this job! Now what am I supposed to do how will I manage to get a job for a single mother like me ? she murmured.

Daiyu did heard what that women murmered even though she didn't heard the whole thing she heard "single mother",  at that time she zoned out into her past where her mom was also struggling the same to get a job, she than realized that her problem is not as big as the woman, she then went near the reception area and talked with the women;

 Excuse me, I am Daiyu and you...
Ellie, the woman replied 

I am really sorry but I overheard the conversation between you and the receptionist, and I am willing switch my name with yours, you can take my place, Daiyu said.

Huh, thank you so much, but can why don't you need the job, you must also need this job right since you were waiting here? she asked Daiyu.

I do, but from what I am seeing you need it more than I need it, and also because I can relate to your situation with  someone who is very precious to me, who faced the same struggles as you, anyway now don't be late, go do your best, it's my turn...I mean its  yours turn.

While Daiyu was about to leave Ellie called her from behind, 

Wait, Miss Daiyu will you wait until I finish my interview ??? I want to talk to you.

Good I am happy for you, said Daiyu.

The reason I asked you to wait is I have to give you something, you see today I had asked someone to see job vacancies. Let me call and asked her if she got any information about it (after the call). 

Hey, Daiyu are you up to give an interview???,Ellie asked.

Give me your number I am sending you the details. The interview starts in an hour  that is 12 pm and now is 11.am.

Half an hour later at Yangs Group., 

Daiyu's POV,

 I was now standing below a humongous company which said Yang Group in bold silver letters. After showing the the interview appointment picture on my phone, I was allowed to enter, all the interns I saw all were dressed in famous designer brands, and suddenly all were looking at my direction (Author: all were looking at her because she looked like a model but was dressed simply in all black , black hoody, black ripped jeans and black boots which were not "branded"), I ignored the gazes, than proceeded towards the reception to ask about where the interview is taking place, but after I said that sentence, the workers and interns who were gazing at me till now suddenly started gossiping while looking at me.

At that point of time I was getting angry at the companies staff's behaviour.

Excuse me I asked you something, would you tell me??, I asked the receptionist angrily, because even she was looking at me weirdly.

8th floor, asked for Boss Liu Gen's cabin as he taking the interviews of  all the interviewees today, she replied.

okay, said Daiyu 

(Huang Meixiu than entered, and blocked Daiyu's way and she started bullying  Daiyu)

Who are you I think you got the wrong address??? Hahaha...don't tell me she is here for a designers interview, that Gen is conducting.I am sorry but have you looked at your dressing sense, what are you wearing, I mean it looks like we are conducting an interviews to hire bodyguard she touched her clothes...Ahhhh

Daiyu than stared at her, and twisted her hand,while holding Meixiu in that position only she said,

Yes, I am here for a designers interview  but thank you to inform me that this company needs a bodyguard and you know what I will be happy to do that job too. And I do know my dressing sense and I am cool about it, so you don't have to worry about me , Daiyu said in a angry tone.

Leave me, and why the hell will I worry about you?, Meixiu said.

Daiyu than leaved her hand.

But just look at you, you are standing inside the "Yang Group" wearing your cheap piece of cloth, she again touched  Daiyu clothes while saying this, you are destroying our company status by this shit and also my Hai's reputation.

At that time Daiyu lost all her patience towards Meixiu, when she again touched her clothes provoking her.

Daiyu insulted her, jerking off
Meixiu hands forcefully from her clothes, she said;

First of all, do not touch me and secondly you should mind your own damn business instead of poking your botox nose in others business, and before giving your advice to others go and wear something  informal suitable for working and not as if you are going for a party, You get it, and that's my return advice for you take it I won't charge for it. And what I am wearing is completely suitable for this job and it should concern the reputation of the company and about Hai, whoever he is I am not interested to know about him. 

You...who the hell do you think you are talking to me 'The famous Huang Meixiu" like this?

The others workers started laughing and smiling at Meixiu 

And you all the show is over, Daiyu said to all the workers.

Ahh...Meixiu stomped her feet, that bitch  wait and watch you messed with the wrong girl, she gritted her teeth and exited the building angrily. 

(At this point, unknowingly Daiyu made more fans because Meixiu has got on the nerves on every working interns at the Yang company, and no one dared to stopped her frpm bullying others because her father has invested in Yang company on a new project, but Daiyu did it ( that's why when Daiyu entered the building all were worried about her and started gossiping)

"Son, what happened to the job I gave you?"
The young man hands an envelope to the older man who smiles upon reading the papers in it.
"An exclusive, huh? Great job! When will this take effect?" 
"Today. I'm leaving after breakfast to have an interview with Hyacinth." Lester answers his father's questions while eating fried rice with hotdog and egg, paired with brewed coffee, on the side.
"SkyMu is really making a lot of noise ever since the change in their president. But when will they reveal the person behind all of these?" His father curiously asks. 
"I'm not really sure, either. She told me she's just waiting for an appropriate time." 
"It means she's waiting for a bigger event or bigger achievement before she reveals her name in public." Lester's faster laughs out loud after saying those words.
"What's so funny, Father?"
"She's ambitious thus she wants a name for herself with her achievement instead of being called someone's wife in the business world." The elder explains.
The remark of his father makes Lester recall the time he had spent with Yve. Indeed, Yve is an independent woman. As for being ambitious, he's not that sure. At school, Yve has achieved the top seat and all because of her hard work.
His father has stopped laughing and looks at Lester intently waiting for him to express his thoughts. 
"Father, do you think, it's a good idea to continue this partnership in the future?" Lester looks at him with a very confused face. 
"So far, it's fine. But for your safety, have the project-based exclusivity first since we really don't know yet her full abilities. We are already earning a lot from getting exclusive rights on Mr. Gray's group of companies." His father explains what he has to say on this issue. 
After eating their breakfast, Lester leaves the dining table and gets his things before driving his car towards SkyMu office where he is scheduled to meet Hyacinth's manager. 
Once the scheduled time comes, Lester finds himself on the way to the location with Hyacinth's manager. 
"Are the questions fine?"
"I think so. I didn't hear any complaints or special requests from Hyacinth." 
"I see." 
Soon after, they find themselves inside Hyacinth's house and where a team of SkyMu's video team is already setting up the needed equipment.
In the meantime, Yve has finally wake up. But her head is really banging in pain. 
"Awake now, my dear little drunkard?" Vince smiles at their doorstep with a cup of warm tea in his hand. 
"I'm not a drunkard." Yve pouts and tries to sit down on the bed but her headache is stopping her.
"How come you're fine? You didn't drink a lot last night?" 
"Well, I did. I asked Chrysthe to pick us up while Jaleb was with Mom last night. Here, drink this tea to make you feel a little better." Vince answers her question and hands her the tea after helping her sit on the bed properly.
"Thanks." Yve drinks the warm tea and it really helps her lower the pain at least a notch.
"You can sleep more if you like."
"I can't. Hyacinth is having an interview with Lester this morning. I need to be ready for updates." 
"Don't worry too much. Lester is the interviewer and Hyacinth is the interviewee. There are both good people and well experienced in their field. I sent Sylvan though just in case." Vince explains as he tries to convince her to sleep more. 
"Ok. Wake me up if anything comes up, okay? Also I need to review my lessons for the upcoming major exam. " Yve reminds him.
"I got it. I will wake you up by lunch. But that time, I think your hangover has subsided. Now, drink that tea up until the last drop." 
Yve does what Vince told her partly because she knows that she will not be very productive because of her hangover so might as well sleep. Once Yve's breathing has stabilized, Vince leaves her inside their room and heads to the study where he can read some reports from Team Bravo.
Speaking of Team Bravo's works, Steve is having a lot of trouble because of them. Ever since he landed the other day, he hasn't slept on his bed. 
"We need to make sure that we win this bid." Steve informs his team.
"We understand, sir!"
Once he receives the papers and final project proposal they will present, Steve adjourns the meeting and heads back to his hotel. Since he came earlier than planned, his room is not yet finished. So he had no choice but to stay in a hotel room. To make it a little bit convenient, the hotel he stays at is a closer to their company building.
Back in the country, Jenny wakes up and does her exercise routine to keep her body healthy and in tip-top shape. 
"Good morning, dear. What do you want for breakfast?" Her nanny asks her seeing her in their private gym.
"Just whip up the usual breakfast. Please bring them in my room and place it on desk beside my study table." Jenny replies to her nanny with a wide smile on her face.
"I will. But your brother's secretary called and said he will visit around lunch time just to check on you. So lunch has to be in the dining table." 
"I see. Thanks, Nanny." Jenny smiles and starts her exercise. Seeing her do so, her nanny leaves her alone inside. 
Eating in her room is also one of the things that she can only do because her brother isn't around.
In Hyacinth's place, the interview space has been set up as Lester and Hyacinth take their seats.
"Hello, Miss Hyacinth."
"I'm Lester. Thank you for this interview."
"You're welcome. Thank you for the wonderful questions. I'm excited for this interview."
"Thank you. Please take care of me."
"The same way, please take care of me." 
The camera starts rolling and Lester proceeds with the interview. 
Sylvan is on the side observing her Lady Boss' friend. He's a journalist but his interviewing skills aren't bad either. He isn't shy or nervous in front of the camera and a star like Hyacinth.
'Seems like there's nothing to worry. Lester will also nail the exclusive interviews for this project.' Sylvan's train of thought is broken when he felt Hyacinth's secretary pushes his elbow a little bit. 
"Thank you for this care and consideration to Hyacinth."
"No need to thank me. I believe our president fully appreciates Hyacinth's worth and just giving it back to her." Sylvan nonchalantly responds to the manager before leaving her. 
The manager tries to follow her but stops when Sylvan pulls out his phone,
"Yes, Miss Yve?" 
When Sylvan heard her footsteps walking away from him, he puts his phone back to his pocket and releases a deep sigh.
'Lady Boss, please forgive me for using your name without permission just to avoid the lady. I promise to serve and protect you to the best of my skills.' Sylvan recites in his mind and makes an oath as if Yve is standing and waiting in front of him. 


Today is another busy day for me. Work and home are the only places I go to for the past 3 years. The end of THAT relationship ended my happy, easy-going life. But then, when I think about it, it was not his fault but mine. My friends would tell me that I need to move on. I HAVE MOVED ON. It's just I don't want any side trips anymore in my life. I followed her through the halls and later got into the owner of the company's office. 

"I'll leave you here now. Good luck!" She said. 

"Thank you Jessica!" I thank her. Jessica was her name. 

I knocked... 

Tok..Tok... 

I heared a voice that said to come in and I later come in and start the interview. 

"Annyeong-haseyo Y/n imnida!" I introduced myself 

"Annyeong-haseyo..Please take a sit.." He said 

I got out the Bio-data which is needed in this interview and the document which has the review from my past jobs. 

"Wahh..I'm impressed at your reviews!" He was amazed because my past jobs give out good payments for all the work that I did and the other one gave me a good review because of how I behave in work. 

"Tell me...Why do you want this job..?" He asked. 

"I want this job because I want to experience new things and also quite like managing something or someone. I also want to help the boys become the most famous boyband in the world and also help their attitude to get known off the stage and in the stage." I answered. 

"Wahh..such amazing diplomancy. You're hired!" He said. 

"Really?! I-I couldn't believe my ears! Thank you very much!!!" I thankfully said. 

And with that I got hired for the position!

The application for the Osborne Talent Training Program is going smoothly, after all, Lisi 's achievements are placed there.

PV: Judging by the way you talk of Harry Potter, I am thinking that there is no problem in your… (Ahem)… "nightly life"?

I was at the office editing another article for the paper. I cannot help but wonder why the heir to the one of the greatest real estate fortune was doing at a hospital in the middle of the night. "A lot," he says. "An heir to a telecommunications fortune is dying, an heir to a real estate fortune visited a hospital with his parents, and. . . a daughter of a corporate lawyer is a drug addict. Rosanna, these are news you are not telling me."

"Sir, these are private matters that the public need not know," I say firmly. "And you disgust me if you call these private problems as 'news'."

"Still, these are news," he says coolly. "I never knew you to be so well-connected with the elite, Rosanna. Of course, what did I expect? You graduate from Ferrydell University under a scholarship."

"I repeat sir, these are private matters," I gritted my teeth. "I cannot report these to you. My friend is dying of cancer; another is trying to recover from addiction, and the one I saw last night? I merely bumped into him. I do not know him personally."

"You give me no choice, Rosanna," he says. "I am sending you on the field. If you are not personally connected with that real estate heir, then make yourself to be one."

"This is to invade their privacy, sir!" I exclaim.

"I don't care!" he exclaims back. "You saw it, you report it. Take Mateo with you. He ought to learn a little something from you. And, you may go."

I gritted my teeth with anger as I look into the eyes of my enemy. I knew he has something to do with this. The only question is how did he know all of those? I stormed out of the room and walked my way back to my cubicle.

"Rose, I – "

"You had something to do with this, don't you?" I ask angrily as I walk away.

"Rose, I had to tell him," he says. "This information is matters of the public for they are related to the elite which is – "

"These are private matters that no one else should ever know," I corrected.

"Think about it properly, Rose," he insists. He keeps catching up with me even though I am trying to leave him behind. I could still feel my anger with him. How could he tell these matters to the boss? "With these stories, you could get ahead of the journalism world. This would put you on top." He suddenly grabbed my arm as if to stop me from walking. "Don't you want that?"

"I have ambitions, I must admit," I say as I break away from his grip. "But I do not want to do it this way. I do not want to use my friends' problems as a means to boost my position. They are my friends and sisters in bond! I would not dare betray them. I want to be great, but not that way. How could you use my friends as pawns for your ambition? You even dared to involve me in this mess. You disgust me."

I turned my back on him and walked away. How could he? This is the sin Emma is talking about. Avarice is never a virtue. It can never be justified.

I arrived at my table only to see a post-it note stuck on my desk.

Interview with Rex de la Rama, 1:00 pm, Rade Real Estate Main Office. Be sure to show up if you want to keep your job.

Damn him! Damn both of them! They are both ambitious. How could I work for this man? Can he not respect that family's privacy? I managed to crumple the note and toss it to my waste bin out of anger. Instead of the waste bin, I did not manage to throw it in its proper place. It fell to the ground only for Mateo to pick it up for me.

"You seem to be pretty mad," he says as he hands me back the post-it note.

"It's your fault!" I exclaim. "And, how did you get that information?"

"Eloisa told me," he says lowly.

"Ah, so you are in close friendship, do you not?" I say angrily. "By God, I have two sisters for fools. One is a fool for an unknown lover and one is a fool for her friend's son of a gun ex-lover."

"You better watch your mouth there, missy," he whispers. "We have been friends for a long time, and you should know that by now. She has nothing against me, nor does Emma. I do not see why the two of us can't get in the same both."

"You cheated on her!" I exclaim. "That is the thing that I cannot forgive you!"

"Well, some of us needs to move on, right?" he says. "Anyway, we need to have that interview. Our jobs depend on it."

"May I remind you it is you that got us here in the first place?" I say.

"You can't do anything about it anyway," he says. "Not let's attend that interview."

My heart burns with anger for what he did, yet he started a new career for me. He got me out of being deskbound in the worst possible way. I do not know if I should thank him or curse him. I already cursed him earlier. I think that should be enough already. Also, what harm can a mere interview do? My boss set an appointment for an interview with Rex de la Rama.

I can feel the ambition rising through my head. Earlier, I was fuming with rage for what he did, but now I am star struck with the idea that I am actually going to interview an heir. I have been surrounded by children of the elite all throughout my college life, but I never see them as any higher than me. We are all trying to graduate college in one piece. We have our own share of dreams, and mine was to become a legend of a journalist.

I mean, I have two sisters as members of the elite. I am just a child born in poverty, but they see me as their equal. As we walk to the office, I can feel a race of change inside my mind. Anger turned into excitement within a flash. How could it be?

The secretary bowed in respect and left the three of us in the heir's room.

"Sir, thank you for obliging to our request for an interview," Mateo says in respect.

"It was nothing," the charming heir says kindly. "You honor me by asking to interview me. Come, let us talk."

He prompted us to sit on his sofa set. I felt honored by his hospitality. He had some coffee prepared for us and he never seems annoyed with having us.

"Now, I understood that you want to interview me, but for what reason?" he asks.

"It is a rather long story," Mateo says.

"Alright," the heir says. Mister de la Rama then looked at me as if he is examining my face. Please, let him not remember me. "Miss, have I seen you before?"

"Uh, last night, I suppose, sir," I say awkwardly. "I saw you at a hospital last night with your parents."

"Ah, yes," he says. "Now I remember. We strolled past each other in the lobby of the hospital. Alas, I only visited my betrothed last night. Poor, love. She is near the end of her days."

"Sir, if you do not mind me asking, who is this betrothed?" I ask.

"Miss, I believe that you are going a bit too far in asking me that," he says.

"Alas, sir, do not think me as a bird that pries into your private life," I say. "But sir, I think we share the same pain. I have a friend. Her name is Emma. You may not know her, but she near the end of her days too. You know, sir, it pains me to see her bound to that bed waiting for a turn to the worse. To see her lover is all she wishes, but alas, I do not know if I can give that to her."

"Would that friend be Emma Concepcion?" he asks.

"Yes sir," I answer. "How do you know?"

"She is my betrothed," he answers.

"You are my friend's betrothed?" I ask in shock.

"There is no doubt of it," he says. "And I'm surprised that the public doesn't know. You are the first to know, Ms. Aguinaldo."

"Were you lovers?" I ask.

"No, it was arranged," he says. "But even if it was arranged, I loved her, though she did not feel the same. Even on her deathbed, she still wants to find that peasant of a lover. Well, anyway, I'm sure that she will reconsider that."

"Sir, what do you know?" I ask flatly.

"I do not know him," he says. "The only thing I know that she fell for a common man, and I can tell you that I am not him. Miss, though your friend sees me as a shallow person, I truly loved her. Keep that in mind."

So, the man she loves is a common man. I can understand that. So, that is why she was betrothed to someone else. This is what the two sisters are talking about last night. They discussed the common man Emma loved. Sometimes, I think of her as a great person, though she is a fool. She is not shallow to fall for a man for his wealth and power. She falls for the person, not what the person has. She has a heart. Alas, I know I am not like her. Standing beside her is like standing beside a living saint.

"Right, I suppose we shall proceed with the interview," Mateo says as he pulls out his notepad containing questions to be asked.

"I wonder what kind of company this is."
Gun-Ho was heading to Asan for the job interview, filled with expectations and worries.
"What kind of person is the owner? Would he be a power-trip type of person?"
His car was making loud noises while he was driving because he didn't get the muffler fixed yet.
He was passing a town called Yuyangg when he stopped to put some gas in his car before continuing his trip.
"It will be a long trip to Asan. I'd better fill up the tank!"
After he filled his car, Gun-Ho opened Ole navigation application on his smartphone.
"So the company is located at Dunpo Town, Asan City. Let me enter the destination to the app. Uh? It's not that far. It's close to Cheonan City? I will stop by the rest area; I left home so early this morning I didn't have a chance to have breakfast. I think I have time to eat a udong (a noodle soup) and drink a cup of coffee."
Gun-Ho passed Yangju City Hall and entered the automobile-only road.
"It is nice to see not many cars here because it is still early morning."
Gun-Ho's old Avante well passed Uijeongbu IC, making a rattling noise and headed to Namyangju City.
"So many toll roads on the way. F*uck!"
Gun-Ho entered Gyeongbu Highway from Pangyo after passing Han River Bridge.
"Is this Pangyo? Byung-Tae Hwang who was ranked number one in my class is working in a research facility somewhere here in Pangyo. That dude graduated from KAIST. Of course, he seems to be doing very well as expected."
Gun-Ho had a udong at Giheung Rest Area and a coffee from a vending machine. He, then, called into work with the excuse he made up.
"Boss? I'm Goo Jooim. My father in Incheon got sick and I have to take him to a hospital. I will come to work this afternoon."
"Your father? Is it serious?"
"I am not sure. He has a severe stomach ache and keeps throwing up."
"Really? Don't worry about work. Take care of your father."
"Thank you, boss."
Gun-Ho felt sorry to the owner. He hung up the phone and continued driving. Following the direction of the navigation application, Gun-Ho got out of the North-Cheonan IC and continued driving on the national highway.
"There is the sign for Dunpo Town!"
Gun-Ho expected a small town in the countryside. However, what he saw was a large industrial park.
"What is this? Asan Techno Valley? Wow. It looks amazing."
All factories in Asan Techno Valley were either large or at least middle-sized companies. They were huge.
"YS Tech which I am heading to is not far from here. Only 8 kilometers more to go. Uh? Where is this? Oh, this is Dunpo Town. I see a Lotteria; it must be larger than Gwangjeok Town, Yangju City. If I pass the interview successfully today, I will have to find a room in this area, won't I?"
Gun-Ho found the YS Tech factory which he had a job interview for in Shinbong Town after passing Dunpo Town.
"Hmm… Its appearance is not bad at all. It's still ten past nine. The interview time is 10, so I have plenty of time before the interview. Should I look around Dunpo Town? Maybe not. I don't want to risk being late for the interview. I will just take a nap or listen to music in my car."
Gun-Ho tried to take a nap in his car after parking it in front of a community hall, but he couldn't sleep. He played with his smartphone and listened to music to pass the time.
"It's twenty to ten. Let me head out to the interview place."
Gun-Ho was thinking of driving into the factory, but instead, he parked along the factory wall as he saw lots of cars did the same. There was a security office next to the main entrance, but he didn't see a security officer there. At that moment, Gun-Ho saw a person in a uniform passing by the road. He asked where he could find a conference room. The man indicated a two-floor red brick building. Gun-Ho walked to the second floor. There was an interview room sign on the door of the conference room.
"Excuse me."
Gun-Ho entered the room. There were seven to eight people sitting in the room. He could tell by looking at them that they were all there for an interview. When Gun-Ho entered into the room, everyone glanced at him quickly and then kept focusing on their smartphones.
"Is everyone here?"
A lady in her mid-40's came out to the front and said, "Hello everyone. I am a manager at YS Tech. We will start the interview in a moment. You will have the interview with our president in the next room. Three persons will enter the room at once. Once your name is called, please come forward and sit on one of the front seats."
Gun-Ho looked around; most of the people were female, and there were two other males. As soon as the clock struck 10, the lady called three people's names. Gun-Ho was in the second group. It took about twenty minutes for the first group to complete the interview. Gun-Ho went to the interview room with two other candidates.
"Ji-Hae Choi, Hwa-Young Kim, and Gun-Ho Goo, please come with me."
Gun-Ho and two other candidates entered the room together. There was a man in his late 40's sitting at the table; the T-shirt under his suit jacket was colorful. The manager lady entered the room along with the candidates and sat next to him.
"This is our president."
The interviewer was the president. Gun-Ho looked at his face thoroughly.
"Wow, he is amazingly handsome. He looks like a TV celebrity."
The president was not only handsome, but he was also dressed sophisticated and chic. The president didn't say anything; he was just looking at the file the manager handed to him. He, then, raised his head and asked the candidate sitting in the first chair.
"Ms. Ji-Hae Choi, are you married?"
"Yes, I am."
"Then how do you take care of your child while you are at work?"
"My mother is living close to mine, and she helps me a lot to take care of my child."
"Ms. Hwa-Young Kim. You graduated school this year?"
"Yes, I did."
Gun-Ho turned his head to look at her. She looked younger than 20 years old, but her face was covered with a thick layer of makeup with long eyelashes and red lipstick.
"Did you graduate from Cheonan Women's Commercial High School?"
"It's Information Technology High School."
"Hmmm…"
The president continued looking at the file. He didn't ask about any certificates or other qualifications at all.
"What does your father do for a living?"
"He is working in an elementary school administration."
"Hmmm…"
The president glanced at all three candidates, then looked at the file again.
"Mr. Gun-Ho Goo, are you currently working at Bangil Gas?"
"Yes, I have to move to Cheonan for personal reasons, so I will soon resign from the company."
The president didn't ask why Gun-Ho had to move to Cheonan.
"Did you complete your military service?"
"Yes, I had fully completed the military service."
"Hmmm… Ok. This is it. You can all leave the room. Next group."
The president asked a few simple questions and then called the next group in. Gun-Ho thought the interview was too short and simple.
The next group entered the room. There were eight interviewees in total, so the last group consisted of two candidates. That group took about twenty minutes for the interview as well. After all candidates were interviewed, the manager came out of the interview room and said with a broad smile on her face, "Thank you all for coming today. It would be really nice if we could hire all of you, but we only have one open position. It will be a difficult decision for us. We will contact you by next Tuesday at the 10th. Please take these envelopes with you. These are from our president appreciating your time to come here, hoping to help your transportation expense for today's interview."
The manager distributed a white envelope to each candidate.
"I came this far but didn't do much for the interview. Do they have someone already for the position in their mind?"
Gun-Ho suspected. Giving the money for the transportation cost to the candidates was a sensible move, Gun-Ho thought.
"Whatever."
Gun-Ho headed back to Yangju City. He opened the white envelope in his car; there was 30,000 won in it.

*cellphone rings*

It was 7 am when i took a glance on my phone and its ringing. Syempre hindi yun phone call. As if naman meron akong inaasahang tao na tatawag sa akin. Its just an alarm for my interview today at pinatay ko na ang alarm since im awake naman.

Minutes later, I am about to prepare all my stuff and I heard another ring on my phone. Sa pagkaalala ko, hindi naman naka snooze ang alarm ko so tinignan ko ang phone at hindi ako makapaniwala may tumatawag nga sa akin.

"Sino kaya 'to?" tanong ko sa sarili ko. I press the green button on the screen right after its 4th ring at sinagot ang tawag na yun.

"Hi. This is Ram. I would like to remind you of your scheduled interview today at 10 am." sabi ng lalake sa kabilang line.

"Ah yes. I will go there and in fact, I am preparing all my belongings" sabi ko.

"Allright then. Just be here 10 to 15 minutes prior to your scheduled interview. Just approach the front desk and tell them that you have scheduled interviee with me. Just mention my name so they can accommodate you right away" sabi niya.

"Copy that. Thank you." i answered.

"Ok bye. See you later" pahabol ni Ram.

Mabilis akong natapos sa pag prepare at umalis na ng bahay at dumiretso doon sa office ni Ram.

By the way, my name is Mookie Ratthanon. I am 24 years old. Male po ang gender ko. Single syempre. Been in a relationship with a guy. Oo, nagka boyfriend ako when I was 21 and tumagal din ang aming relationship for more than a year at nasa isang village lang kami. We're in good terms naman at we are friends.

Papunta na ako sa opisina na ina applyan ko. Its a BPO company. I am hoping talaga na ma hired ako para naman makatulong ako sa family ko.

It was 9:35 am ng makarating ako sa office. Nakapasok naman agad ako right after i talked to the front desk attendant. I wrote down my name on the log sheet. Kinuha nila ang ID ko at binigyan nila ng applicant ID in return.

Pumasok ako sa loob ng recruitment at nakita ko si Ram. Siya yung tumawag sa akin kanina.

"Hi. I receive a call earlier from Ram. I have scheduled interview and assessment today." sabi ko.

"Yah I know. My name is Ram." sagot niya.

Inabot niya sa akin yung forms at pina fill up nya yun sa akin.

"I want you to fill up the form correctly and accordingly. Write your full name, your exact address and your educational background. Don't forget to include your job background as well." sabi ni Ram.

"And here is the other form, if you have friends or relatives that you might refer to work here, you can also write down their names and their phone number" sabi niya while giving me the small paper.

"Once you're done, just approach me so we can start" pahabol niyang sabi.

So i followed all his instructions at binalik sa kanya ang lahat ng forms na yun

"Good. Please take a seat and wait for your name to be called. Meanwhile, please take a look at this instruction manual, this is for your initial interview checklist" sabi ni Ram.

Umupo ako sa gilid ng couch at binasa ang nasa laminated paper. Nung natapos na ako, Nanood muna ako ng TV na nasa likod ni Ram. Korean Lifestyle show yung lumalabas na may english subtitle. I feel so happy at that time because it was my idol ang pinapakita sa TV. Parang na nakita yata ni Ram yung reactions ko while watching the TV so he approached me again.

"Mookie. right?" sabi niya.

"Ahmm. yes?" sagot ko.

"We have vending machine here. You can get coffee or hot choco. Please feel free to get one and make yourself comfortable" sabi niya.

"I see. Thank you" sagot ko.

Wala ako sa mood para kumuha kaya binaling ko sa TV ang mata ko at nag patuloy sa panonood.

"Good Morning. May I call on Mookie Ratthanon? Do we have Mookie here?" sabi nung babae.

Nag hands up ako at sinabing ako yun. Pinasunod niya ako sa small conference at kinausap ako.

"Hello. Please take a seat. My name is Cass." sabi nung babae.

Wala akong maisagot kaya tumango na kng ako as a sign that i understand her.

"I want you to study this. We will skip your initial interview and we wil just move on to online assessment" sabi niya.

"Just go back to your seat outside and wait for your name to be called" pahabol niyang sabi.

"Okay. Thank you" sagot ko

At lumabas naman ako at binasa yung assessments na yun. Tinawag na ni Cass ang pangalan ko at nag start na ako da online exams. Natapos ko yun in 20 minutes pati yung typing test. Lumabas ako ng exam room at nag ask ng permission kay Cass na mag wash room muna kaya sinabihan niya ako na bumalik before 11:30.

Lumabas ako saglit dahil ginaw na ginaw na ako. Siguro excitement at nerbyos ang nararamdaman ko kaya parang feeling ko maiihi ako.

Kinausap ko yung guard at tinanong kung nasaan ang wash room nila. Binigyan niya ako ng direction kaya sinunod ko naman.

While walking sa hallway patungong wash room, tumingin tingin ako sa wall at tinitignan ang naka paskil doon.

I am about to turn right ng bumangga ang left shoulder ko sa isang lalake. Employee yata siya sa company na yun at nag sorry ako sa kaniya.

I look at him at nakita ko ang mukha niya. Ang cute niya. Naka glass siya at ang taas ng height niya. 

"Its okay" sabi niya at hinawakan ang glass niya at agad niya tinungo ang haklway palabas ng company.

"Ang gwapo niya. Ano kaya ang name niya?" sabi ko sa sarili ko at diniretso na ang wash room.

Bumalik ako sa recruitment at hinintay na tinawag ang name ko.

"Hello Mookie" sabi ni Ram.

"Yes sir." sagot ko.

"Congratulations, you pass the exam. Please take a seat for a while and wait for your name to be called for final interview" sabi niya.

"Oh. Thank you" sagot ko.

"Do you want to take your lunch now, or would you like to proceed?" sabi niya.

"I would like to proceed" sagot ko.

"Okay then" sabi ni Ram at may pinapasok niya ako sa room ng recruitment manager. Nagulat ako dahil the guy looks so familiar. Hindi ako makapaniwala na nandito siya sa company na ina applyan ko.

Si Bryan yun, recruiter din dati sa previous company na pinapasokan ko. Marami kaming pinag usapan pero lahat ng yun hindi related sa current company na pinag applyan ko. After nun, i was hired. Binigyan ako ng slip for medical at lists ng requirements na i need to comply. Binigyan nila ako mg a week para matapos lahat ng yun.

I receive a text from Ram. He is reminding me of orientation which is today. So nag reply ako just to confirm my attendance.

Nasa office na ako at pumasok na din. Marami kaming nasa labas ng recruitment at naghihintay ng instruction then I saw this guy na chubby pero cute. Hindi ko alam ang name niya at hindi ko kayang mag approach sa kaniya dahil nahihiya ako.

The guard escorted us papunta sa HR room for the orientation at nag pass by kami sa cafeteria ng company umakyat sa stairs at nakita ko ulit ang guy na naka glass na nabangga ko last time.

He is wearing a blue shirt at ang gwapo niya talaga. Tinignan niya ako ng madalian at nag patuloy siya sa pag lakad down stairs.

Hindi ko namalayan na nabangga ko din ang isang guy na saktong tumayo sa kinauupuan.

Nag sorry ako sa kaniya pero ang suplado niya.

"New hire ka no?" tanong niya.

"Oo." sagot ko.

"Please lang, tignan mo ang nilalakaran mo. New hire ka pa naman" sabi niya.

Parang galit yata to at gustong manakit. Nag sorry na nga. Ang bastos ng taong ito. Umupo siya ulit at nag patuloy sa paglalaro ng Dota sa PC. Meron kasi silang game area sa lounge ng company.

Tinignan ko ulit siya at nag sorry ulit. Gwapo sana kaso ang suplado. I hate that kind of personality kasi kaya na turn off ako.

Nakita ko ang ID niya bago siya umupo. May picture nya at pangalan sa below his picture. Hindi ko nakita ang last name pero sigurado ako nakita ko ang first name niya kaya minemorize ko talaga iyon.

Thomas and I were greeted by Jonathan as soon as we entered his mansion. He was as handsome as I've seen on tv. "So you are the special person that Tom here was talking about huh?" He asked me excitedly.

Thank god, Thomas and I had decided on some answers of our relationship.
"Sorry for being so inquisitive, but you can't blame me for being so excited. Let's go into the living room."
The living room are was spacious with huge glass panels on one side which looked out into the pool. Thomas was already sitting comfortably on the plush sofa.
"You guys stay here, I have a call to make. I will be back in five." Jonathan tells us and leaves the room.
I turn to Thomas and stare daggers at him, "What the hell are we doing?" I say to him in a loud whisper.
"Wasn't it your plan? You wanted to convince him, I just provided you a way. Don't worry I know you will figure it out soon." He smirks at me.
I groan inside. He's having fun with this, he can have the first laugh, I'll have the last laugh when I finally convince Jonathan to give the green light to the interview. We sit there in silence as a house staff serves us some cool drinks. A few minutes later Jonathan arrives and I signal Thomas to leave the two of us alone so that I can easily sway him.
Thomas gets up from the sofa and casually leaves the room. 
"So where did you two meet? I am sorry I am asking you this because Tom will never answer this question, he actually never answers anything I ask him."
"Uh at a friend's party." I answer
"Party huh? that's something new Tom doesn't usually stays clear of parties. But he also introduced me to his girlfriend which I thought will never happen, I guess there's a first time for everything." He laughs heartily.
I turn to Jonathan with an almost despondent expression.
"Anna are you okay? Did something happen between the two?"  he worriedly asks
"Yes and no" I speak in a low voice
"What do you mean?"
"You know with Thomas being the editor of an almost dying magazine, he is always stressed and I guess he doesn't want to tell you this but I am so worried about him..." I trail off and look at the distant figure of Thomas who was now standing on the balcony with his back facing us.
"The magazine is struggling, why didn't he tell me this?" Jonathan almost looks too confused
"Yeah, it is that's why Thomas asked you for an interview I think. And after your interview feature was removed from the next month issue, hes even more stressed." I sigh sadly. 
"But I don't blame you, if you don't want your interview to be published after all you are a private person and you changed your mind." I say to him
"What? No, its nothing like that." he exclaims
"Eh? It's not like that?" I am confused at this point.
"I mean I did tell him that I don't want the interview to be published but i wasn't serious about it." He sighs and rubs his forehead. "I should have known Tom would take me seriously knowing his personality he isn't too keen on practical jokes."
"Huh? But why did you lie to him?"
"Well..haha you know in my career I haven't given any interviews to any magazines so when Tom requested me to give an interview I thought to give it a try since he is a close friend of mine, I wouldn't be too nervous to give my very first interview of my career. And I got carried away and Requested him to do a two page spread of my precious per dog Collins." He says bashfully.
I couldn't believe what I had just heard, so all this time Thomas kept on believing the lie Jonathan told because he can't differentiate between a joke and truth and I came here all the way just to uncover this simple misunderstanding. I can't believe this guy, he is still stubborn as ever.
"Guess I will just clear the misunderstanding with Tom. I am glad you told me about this, because Tom would never cough this out in front of me." He smiles at me and I shoot him a smile in return.
I watch the two of them from the living room as Jonathan explains to him everything that he has told me and to my surprise instead of the scowl that I was expecting to see from Thomas. He laughs out loudly and for the first time ever I see a different side of him.
He kind of looks handsome when he is not scowling or when he is not wearing a brooding face. Thomas is not a necessarily handsome looking face but he was quite popular with the ladies back in office even with a scowl pasted on his face. I guess some people find charms in the classic broody type looking face.
After all the misunderstanding had been cleared, we took our leave of Jonathan who was slightly disappointed that we rejected his dinner invitation. I was a little disappointed as well because Jonathan said that he can prepare the dinner by a very famous chef in town, but we had to leave before Jonathan figured out that Thomas and I were lying about our relationship and my identity.
On our way back, we were mostly silent because I didn't what else to say. Inside I wanted to mock him so bad but I thought it's better to stay silent since he's also my boss.
"You can let it out" Thomas suddenly speaks up
"Huh?"
"You can criticise me, make fun of me or get angry at me, I almost messed up and made everyone's career at risk by my foolishness."
"Ah- actually I don't think you were being foolish. You were stressed about the magazine and you still are and you just took everything at face value. However it would be better if you believed in your employees as well and not just bear everything on your own." I really meant what I said
Thomas remains quiet for rest of the ride. He drops me at my place since the office will be closed by now. I get down from the car and look at him outside the passenger window.
"Thank you dropping me and see you tomorrow. Good night."
He gives a curt nod, his expression is unreadable and surprises me with a "Thank you" and a smile so brilliant that it made me blush.
Even after he left I couldn't forget his smile.
