"Emmm, My name is Annette Barthélemy."
"Excuse me."

As Annette introduces herself to Gabriel, the knight that protecting Annette and her father interrupted their conversation.

"Ahhh, Yes?"
"Thank you for your help with the Orc and Healing Lord Barthélemy, but can you also heal my man?"
"Of course, Annette, please wait a minute, okay?"
"UN"

Seeing Annette nodded, Gabriel then began to heal the Knight that got an injury. After 10 minutes, he able to treat and purify all the Knight, The captain that talk to him before then walked toward him and said.

"My name is Hector Pichard, and I'm a knight that serves house Barthélemy. I must say thank you for your help in dealing with the Orc and healing Lord Barthélemy as well my Man, Once more Thank you."
"No Problem, I'm glad I can help."
"Gabriel! Gabriel!"
"What is it, Annette?"
"How can you become so strong?"
"Well, the first thing you should know is that never to give up and always walked forward because a person that easy to give up can't get themselves stronger."
"I see, And... And can I learn your healing magic?"
"I'm sorry, Annette, but I can't Teach you my magic."
"Awww"

As he was answering all Annette's question, someone interrupts them by saying.

"It's okay, Ann; we will hire another healer for you to learn."

The one was saying that is the Lord Barthélemy himself who wakes up from his sleep. Seeing his dad waking up, Annette began to run toward him and hug him tightly.

"DADDY!!!"
"Oof, Careful there, Ann."
"Ah, I'm sorry daddy, it still hurt?"
"Hahaha, not anymore."
"Good, because Gabriel already heals your wound."
"Is that so? then I must thank him, don't you think?"
"En"

Annette then getting down from his father's lap, and then the Lord Barthélemy facing him and said.

"Thank you for rescuing us and also thank you for healing my Knight and me, May I know our savior name?"
"Its no problem and name are Gabriel D'Arc."
"D'Arc? I never heard that house name before... Hmmm..."
"Ahhh, I just got my self a noble title from Lord Viscount Lozé."
"Oh? That brute give you a title, huh? you must have a huge contribution in the last monster wave."
"Huh? how did you know?"
"Hah, Lozé family has a tradition giving a Title toward people that have a huge contribution in the Monster Wave, especially if you help them defend Akrok City."
"Really?"
"Yeah, Roy's father gives some commoner a Baron title for his contribution in helping the citizen in the city while also defending them from the monster that coming to the city."
"I see."
"Yup, anyway, is by a chance your destination is toward the Capital City?"
"Yes sir, I want to go to the capital and register myself as a noble just like Roy asked me to do."
"Then, you can come with us. We have the same destination."
"Are you sure, sir?"
"Yes, and call me Arthur."
"Thank you, sir; I mean Arthur."

After 10 minutes all the Knight already wake up and they ready to go to Capital City. They then began their journey to the next city, which is the Wind Hollow, the 3-stars City where he can upgrade his Job.

Gabriel then began his journey to Capital City, but this time he goes with the Barthélemy Family. On their way, Gabriel able to learn a few things; the first thing is that magic sometime can't be taught to other people. That is the reason why Arthur wants to hire another Healer to teach Annette a Healing Magic. The second thing is that Noble's house needs a House head with Level over 50 that also the reason why many Noble children need to participate in the Monster Wave, especially the Heir of the House. The last thing is that House Barthélemy is a Duke House, and only the Royal Family, Duke, and Marquess allowed owning a piece of land inside the Capital City. The reason is that the area in the Capital has an extraordinary power that makes it's land always Fertily and Rich of Natural Magic suitable for creating a Magic Horse ranch.

They continue to travel to the north following the main road, occasionally they encounter a group of a monster, but the knight able to take care of it this time without any casualty. As the sun began to set, they then began to prepare the camp to have some rest for the night.

"Gabriel! Gabriel!"
"Yes, Annette?"
"Tell more story."

When they are on the carriage, Gabriel keeps telling Annette story from his previous life with a little twist in here and there.

"Very well, what kind of story did you want?"
"Ummm, is there any story about a princess?"
"Why is there a story about a princess."
"Then, please tell the story."
"In very far Land in the north..."

Gabriel then tells her a story about a princess that has a Powerful Magic that able to make her control Ice, but one night when the princess plays with her best friend, she lost her control over her magic and caused her best friend injury.

As he tells the story, Gabriel feels that Annette is already sleeping on his lap, so he takes her little body and brings her to the carriage to let her sleep.

The next morning they continue their journey and arrive at the Wind Hollow city; Gabriel able to see that the City Wall is at least has 15 meters in height and has a smooth Grey Color on its surface.

As they walked inside, the Guard stop their carriage before Arthur show his ID as the Guard let them go inside the city without any problem and without paying the toll. As he asked Arthur about it, Arthur only laughed and said that it is a perk of being noble; you don't need paying the gate toll.

"Arthur, can you wait for me for a minute?"
"Why?"
"I want to upgrade my Job inside the Adventurer Guild."
"Ahhh, then let us go there together."
"About your supplies?"
"My knight will take care of it."
"Very well."

Gabriel, Arthur, and little Annette then began to walk toward the Adventurer Guild, where they greeted by the receptionist. After saying that he needs to upgrade his Job and showing his recommendation letter that Roy writes for him, The lady then takes Big Crystal ball and requesting Gabriel to touch it.

After touching it, the ball began to shine as two screens appear in front of him.

Gabriel is seeing his stats smile a little as he also gains one level when he helps the Knight kill the Orc.

After finished upgrading his Job, Gabriel and the Barthélemy family began to walk toward the City Gate and ready to continue their Journey as Arthur doesn't want to waste his time and hurry up, go to the Capital, and meet his Wive. Arthur's wife is the Advisor for the King, and she is also the first woman to become the King Advisor, that is the reason his wive in the Capital and not in their Land.

They then continue their journey for three days before Gabriel able to see Massive Walls at the end of the road. The wall is at least have 20 Meters in height alone. The wall itself is smooth and has a White Color with 5 Massive Tower around it.

Gabriel is also able to see the Castle builds under a Massive mountain, making it a perfect place to defend against any attacker that wants to invade the city. On top of the massive Gate is a Statue of Dragon Head facing any Visitor that wants to go to the City.

"Welcome to Dragon Peak City"

Gabriel is an orphan who wants to be a doctor to help other people with his knowledge.

One day when he walked toward his apartment, He died that day because of some accident he doesn't know.

His journey is not to stop there as he wakes up afterward.

Gun-Ho came back to Yangju and went back to his work at Bangil Gas again.
Once sales were made, Gun-Ho issued electronic tax invoices and added earnings and expenses to <Daily Earnings and Expenses> table in Excel, and then reported it to the owner.
 
Gun-Ho made sure to collect all receipts of every business expense incurred and attached them with glue to the back of an expense form he had purchased from a stationary store in order to properly document them. If there was a client with an outstanding balance for LP gas, Gun-Ho would make a collection phone call to that client as well. He also ran errands for the owner.
"Years of my life will go by like this?"
Gun-Ho was barely making a living; he felt anxious about getting old without saving money.
"It's Wednesday and I don't hear anything from that company in Asan which I had an interview with."
Gun-Ho was constantly checking his smartphone to see if there was any text message from the company. He increased the ringtone of his phone to make sure he didn't miss any calls. There was no phone call, let alone any text message.
"I don't think I got the job. Let's just move on; it is a lost cause. So many smart people are out there. I can't compete with them with my rubbish work experience and qualification. I just have to appreciate the opportunity for having a job interview with them."
Friday came around after Wednesday and Thursday. Gun-Ho gave up on getting a position in the company in Asan. He once again started looking through the newspaper classified section and WorkNet; however, there was no job advertisement which drew Gun-Ho's attention.
"The companies posting a bookkeeper job opening in a newspaper classified section will hire a female, not me. If they hire a male for the job, that's probably because the position is half bookkeeping and half irrelevant chores."
After work, Gun-Ho usually surfed the internet on his laptop in dim light or he went to the PC room in the neighborhood. He felt like he was falling so much farther behind in life compared to his high school friends, which made him feel depressed.
"Won-Chul Jo who is now married should be doing fine, shouldn't he? Byung-Tae Hwang who is working in a research facility of a startup company in Pangyo is getting married soon. He posted about his wedding on Facebook but didn't personally inform me. He could easily find my phone number by contacting Won-Chul or the others."
Gun-Ho drank soju almost every other day, and that increased his alcohol tolerance.
"I am destined to live in the countryside. My life is f*cked up. I have ShinWangJaeWang fate? ShinWangJaeWang my a*s."
 
It had been more than two weeks since Gun-Ho had a job interview with the company in Asan. The memory of the interview was fading away when he received a phone call from that company, a very unexpected one at that.
"Mr. Gun-Ho Goo? How are you? I am the manager of YS Tech in Asan."
"Oh, hi. This is Gun-Ho Goo."
"I am sorry that we took a long time to contact you. You have been hired as our bookkeeper. Can you start on the 1st of next month?"
Gun-Ho came to his senses by this unexpected and sudden phone call.
"Oh, of course, sure. I… I can."
"You have only five days left until the 1st of next month. Can you manage to quit the current job and start a new job with us within five days?"
"Of course, of course. I can certainly do that!"
"Let me tell you then what to bring on your first day of work. You might want to get a pen and a paper."
"Yes, I am ready."
Gun-Ho was so perplexed that he dropped his cell phone while looking for a pen and a paper, and stumbled over the computer power cord.
"You should bring a resident registration, a resident registration abstract showing the status of your military service duty, your highest school diploma, Consent to Collect and Use Personal Data, Identity Assurance Statement, and a work experience certificate letter from your current employer. I will send the forms for the Consent to Collect and Use Personal Data and Identity Assurance Statement to the email address indicated on your resume."
"Okay. I will prepare all those documents and bring them on my first day of work!"
"You can come by 8 AM on the 1st next month. I will see you then."
"Thank you. Thank you."
Gun-Ho felt so grateful to be hired by this company that he repeated "thank you" twice.
"I got it! I got the job!"
Gun-Ho clapped. He felt like he could fly.
"By the way, why did they call me just now? They said they would contact me by last Wednesday."
Gun-Ho sat on the chair and started thinking.
"I guess that the person they hired decided not to work with them, so they hired me instead as a substitute. Of course, I can't be their first choice. Well, they hired me anyway. Let's move to Asan."
Gun-Ho stopped by the Eunhyeon Township Office to get the resident registration and the resident registration abstract on the way to work after collecting bills.
"I can get my college diploma online, but what about the work experience certificate letter? There is no such thing in Bangil Gas. Well, I can find some samples on the internet and make one for me."
After he returned to the office, Gun-Ho drafted a work experience certificate letter referring to some examples he found on the internet.
"I need the boss' stamp to officially seal this letter… I have his stamp for the tax invoices stamping purpose; should I just use it?"
Gun-Ho thought he still should ask the owner for it.
"When he comes back from the gas pipe repairing work, I will carefully inform him."
A little after five o'clock, the owner came back to the office, looking exhausted.
"A*sholes! They tried to bargain for the repairing cost. I should have just left without fixing their pipes. Sh*t!"
The owner slumped down in his chair, looking really tired. Gun-Ho had to tell the owner that he would quit the job, but he couldn't because the owner seemed very tired.
"Gee, it is already half past five. Goo Jooim, you can go home."
Gun-Ho hesitated and the owner looked at him with a question mark on his face.
"What's the matter? Do you have something you want to tell me?"
"Umm… I am so sorry to tell you that I think I have to move to the city where my parents are."
"Why? Because your father is in the hospital?"
"My parents want me to come, and they are old now…"
"Hmmm…"
The owner looked very uncomfortable.
"I will have to find someone again. I really liked you here."
"Well, I've been thinking, and I think your wife can handle the work. You can save money that way."
"My wife? She doesn't even know how to work with a computer."
"She just needs to get the knack of it. She will become better and faster at the job after one or two months of practice."
"I know I can save money… But she always tries to argue with me whenever she is here in the office. That is the problem."
"Haha. That's because she likes you a lot."
"Well, I will have to think about it."
"I will work until the end of this month then."
"You leave that early?"
"My parents are pressing me."
"Oh well, what can I do about it."
"And once I move to the city where my parents live in, I might need a work experience certificate letter from this company."
"A work experience certificate letter? I've never done it before."
"I already drafted the letter. I just need your stamp. You can use the same stamp we use for tax invoices."
"Really? Then you do what you have to do."
"Thank you."
"Go home before it gets dark."
"Thank you."
Gun-Ho walked out of the office and turned his head to look behind him.
"Bangil Gas. I have so many good memories of this factory. The boss and his wife are good-natured people. Once I become successful, I will come and visit them."
It was getting dark; Gun-Ho drove to the Gwangjeok Township Office area where his room was located. He called the landlord to give him the notice to vacate his room.

This is the story of a poor young man whose poverty even shreds apart their family willing to climb his way through society and into the top. A very realistic novel that moves away from fantasy and sci-fi and focuses solely on the issues of society and life.

Eva's pov : 

I heard a low chuckle behind me and someone saying my name out loud I was a bit confused, I mean ,  I was alone  with the CEO in his office and from what I heard he has never been seen laughing or even smiling , I wanted to turn around and look at his face , but I had to fix the problem in front of me first . 

actually it wasn't that complicated , I already changed all the codes for the computer that was hacked , it only took a couple of minutes , I even retrieved the file that was deleted, this kind of stuff were quit easy , I have done worst , but something was off , I mean every hacker leaves some kind of a trace behind him , by mistake or by choice , some hacker love to leave some kind of signature behind them because of there overpowered ego, but this one has cleaned every thing behind him, its probably gonna take a lot of time to find him , but why should I care, I already did what I promised .

I stopped typing and closed the computer after renaming the file which was deleted in the first place, I stood up and searched the room looking for Nicholas(the CEO) to find him sitting in a chair apposite the desk with a smirk on his face and a finger between his teeth, making his glossy red lips plug out more, I couldn't help but stare at his lips , I wanted to kiss them so badly 

(oh my god what the hell are you thinking Eva) my inner voice started screaming out loud .

"I renamed the file and put a new password for it, you can change it, and I cleared the computer from any kind of versus that could allow hackers in "

"hum" Nicholas said while looking into my eyes .

"I couldn't trace the hacker , its gonna need more time for something like that, and I would need access  to the original computer that was hacked" 

on the mention of the hacker Nicholas face turned stone cold with eyes that could pierce through  walls , but eva couldn't be intimated , she has seen worst people, heartless people, and all type of people .

" got it I will let someone work on it" Nicholas said 

"yeah I don't think so , there is no chance anyone can find him in this company, " I told  him" other than me that is "

"over confident aren't you , miss ?  

" no I am just stating the facts , and for your information , the hacker that hacked your company is really good, if he wanted he could have destroyed most of the files in this company , I tightened the security , but you should let your CS(computer science ) team  to look at it, and secure it more ."

"Okay I will get to work on it, let me thank you for helping out , how should I repay you  miss queens " 

"I don't need you to repay me , but if you insist , I do have a request , and you can call me eva , miss queens is way to formal"

"oh really what kind of a request , eva ?"

"I would like to have my interview with you to the PA job, and if I can have my interview now I would be grateful" 

"you could have asked for the job, why just the interview ? and by what have I seen from you I "

"first I don't think it would be fair for the other people who are waiting outside if I just snatch the job without really qualifying, second no sir I don't belong to the CS department, CS is just a hobby nothing more sir"

Nicholas moved towards his desk and sat down on his black leather chair, he took Eva's popers and started looking through them 

eva took the seat in front of him and crossed her slender legs !

"the job is yours Eva , but I do have a question , between your graduation and now there is more than a three years gab , and your resume doesn't have any kind of information for these years why is that ?"

"Nothing really I just took a break , and nothing in particular some part time jobs from here and there , but I spent most of my time going all around the places " Eva said while fidgeting in her seat turning nervous all of a sudden 

of course Nicholas noticed the weird behavior but he decided to ignore it for now, with time he shall understand everything .

"well you got the job miss queens "

Eva smiled like a child that has just been given candy , and started blabbering like an idiot 

" thank you so much sir, I will do my best and as a thank you I will work on the finding the hacker too, you wont regret your decision sir "

"you can call me Nicholas eva, and I expect the best work that you can give , I will see you on Monday then "

"yes Sir... I mean Nicholas "

with one leg she hit the man on his head leaving him unconscious ... she pulled the little girl to her lab and made sure to protect her no matter what happened 
but all of a sudden the air around her turned as cold as ice and in the entrance of the hall here he was with  the most deceiving smirk on his face ... do you need help he asked while looking at her as if she was his prey...

Luna walked out of the hotel. Where does one got to find a job? She took out Kate's phone and searched jobs in her local area. She found a couple that weren't that fare away. The first place she went to was a small coffee shop. 
She walked inside and was welcomed, Luna walked to the counter and said, "Hello I am here for the job interview."
The girl working there looked around 17, she smiled at Luna and said, "Sorry we just hired someone and we don't need anyone else."
Luna was disappointed but politely said,  "Thank you, have a nice day." Then she walked away.
'Onto the next location.' Thought Luna. The next place she was a fast food restaurant. 
It took about 20 minutes to get to the place, thank goodness Luna didn't get lost. She went inside and went to a the worker at the counter, "Hello, I'm here for the job interview."
The worker glared at her, he seemed like he really didn't want to work there, "Okay I'll get the manager and he'll interview you."
The manager came in and took her to a seating area. They sat down and he said, "Can I see your resume?"
What? She needs to bring a resume? 
"I didn't bring one."
"Sorry I can't asses you if you don't have one."
"Oh okay, thank you for your time."
Luna got up and walked outside. She looked at her phone it was already the afternoon, how time flies. Luna's stomach growled, she was hungry. She checked the money that she had, it wasn't enough for a meal in the restaurant she just went into.
She was walking down the streets when a black car kept following her, Luna picked up her pace and ended up running. She ran down the street and turned into an alleyway. 
The car followed her so she screamed! The door of the car opened, she looked inside Matt was in it.
Was he stalking her?
"What are you doing here, you almost gave me a heart attack!"
"I'm sorry if I scared I just wanted to see how your job search was going."
Luna looked at him then crossed her arms and looked away, "I don't need to tell you anything."
Matt smiled, "I see those clothes look good on you."
"Of course they do."
"Get in the car."
That is very creepy, they only met once and he is already telling her to get in his car. "Um where are you gonna take me?"
"You said you need to find a job, so I'll give you one." 
Last time Luna was offered a job, it didn't go very well. "What type of job is it?"
"You'll see after we arrive there."
Luna reluctantly go into the car, "So where are we going?"
"To my company, you will become my assistant."
 

Luna has nothing to loose. Her parents died when she was little and no one wants to look after her. 

When she mysteriously meets 'X', Luna is offered a job. This is no ordinary job.

Luna is determined to prove to 'X' that she is fit for the job and will succeed. 

But when she finds out the identity of 'X' Luna will never be the same again

Two weeks passed and the turmoil continued.
Everyone went from pillar to post looking for Lucy but no one came close to finding her. The tension going on in the houses of her loved ones was so terrible. Tola had gone from one hospital to the other in search of her best friend, all to no avail. The break she had begged for at work had now elapsed and she had to resume work.
Remembering that this same job came as a result
of Lucy's influence, she winced. She doubted she
would be able to concentrate at work. She picked up her intercom when it rang. "Yes?… oh… let him in" she said and immediately adjusted her face, in order not to show signs of depression. She had become close to Deo over the past few days. She had never really liked him ever since he became friends with Lucy; she never quite trusted him with her friend's heart. She had been playing the protective sister, even though they were not siblings. She had suspected Deo's real feelings right from the onset but Lucy had been too blinded by work and independence to see the obvious. Even Deo seemed to fight the feeling for a long time. She smiled.

Deo entered the office with a smile on his face even though the smile did not reach his heart, due to the pain he was feeling. He never knew Tola was so cool till now. She had always been hostile, looking at him with hostile eyes every time he went to visit Lucy. He guessed she was just looking out for her friend, but when he tried to break the hostile façade and didn't succeed, he forgot about her.
"Hi Tola" he greeted with the smile still playing on his face.
"Hey Dee" she said with a smile also. Deo did not know why he loved that nickname she formulated for him. It brought a smile to his face, a genuine one. 
"What an honour to have you in my office on a Monday morning. Only a boss like you can leave the office on a Monday morning" she teased, pointing to a seat opposite her.
"I had to. I came to tell you something."
"I am all ears" she said seriously, suspecting that
they were about to talk about her friend.
"I am going to the East" he declared.
"For what? Did you hear anything?"
"No… actually, I was given a contract by one of
the top government officials in the Eastern region  some months ago and the job needs to be executed. You know these government officials, they will not listen to any excuse, no matter how tangible, as long as it involves an agreement. I really wish I could stay or send some of my workers but I have been told that I need to deliver it myself so that I would not have the excuse that the fault came from my employees" his eyes pleaded for understanding.
Tola smiled faintly. She knew he was being sincere but she did not know why she was disappointed. She almost felt like he was running away from his responsibility to her friend. She sighed.
"I also want to use that opportunity to comb that state looking for that filthy peasant. Northern Uganda is already thoroughly combed but he is not
there; Kampala also. Since I am going to the East, I
will make sure I leave no stone unturned." Deo finished. 
Tola smiled again. She could see the love and pain in his eyes and she felt sorry for him.
"It is alright Dee… I understand" she said.
He smiled again. "Thanks a lot. I also want to thank you again for what you did for me; getting me out of police custody."
"How many times do you want to thank me? It is
almost two weeks now" she was surprised.
"What would I have done? I did not know that my lawyer had travelled. If you hadn't been there, I
probably would have slept in that cell for many nights and have those thugs beat me up, asking
me to confess to something I know nothing about."
Tola laughed. She was always happy whenever she had to flex her power as a lawyer. She felt fulfilled because, she was working for a fast-rising law firm.
"You don't have to thank me" she said.
"I have to. Something still baffles me though…
who sent those people to arrest me? As far as I know, that police station is not the one we registered this case in."
Tola was thoughtful. "Yeah… I have thought of that. Don't worry though, I am on it" she said with confidence.
Deo laughed. "I think I should have you as my new lawyer."
She gave a mock bow. "At your service."
"Please don't relent in your efforts. Life feels
useless without Lucy, please" he pleaded.
"You know I can't do that. She is my best friend."
She seemed surprised.
"Thanks" Deo responded.

"Doc T, do you really think she can be discharged
now? Is she fit to leave?" Ray was so worried that something might happen to Brenda and that was the last thing he needed.
"Well, do you want to test her yourself to be sure?"
"I would have loved to if I knew what to do. Is she ready to leave now?" 
Dr. Timothy nodded.
He had bought some clothes and given them to the doctor some days back because Brenda had been putting on the hospital gown ever since.
Dr. Timothy stood up and led the way to Brenda's
room, happy that once again, his hospital had
rescued an almost impossible case. The fact that
her being alive had almost nothing to do with
them was very obvious though; he was sure she would have survived in a poor hospital. She is definitely God's favourite.
Immediately they entered the room, they both
couldn't go beyond the door post as they stared
at the person standing beside the nurse. Nurse
Rola was beaming from ear to ear. The look on
the faces of the two men told her she had done a
good job even though she did next to nothing.
Attending to beautiful patients always made her
like her job as a nurse because she loved to play
dress up.
Dr. Timothy quickly composed himself and went to
meet his patient. "I really would like to meet the
idiot that almost murdered you because I would
love to retaliate. He is however lucky that you
are fine now. How are you feeling now?"
Brenda smiled a little. "I am fine doctor, thank
you so much for everything; you too nurse, you
have made my stay here very lively." Nurse Rola
beamed.
"Don't thank us; we were only doing our job. We
thank God. The only person that needs to be
appreciated is Mr. Raymond. He really tried."
Everyone's gaze moved to Ray who was still
standing at the door.

Tia gulped in nervouseness, but she did not have the guts to refuse to Eva. She knew this was not the right time to refuse the girl and thus she nodded her head in approval. 

Eva then displayed first article from the pen- drive, and every one was left stunned looking at the screen. The article was not just flawless, but was based on most accurate re-search and statistics. "Now this is the most perfect article, I have ever read on global warming and environment protection. Not a single mistake I could spot and everything including the format is perfect." Eva smiled gleefully pointing at the screen. 

"Indeed! This is fabulous! Eva, this will be the first article on booklet and also, the cover page will be designed according to environment protection theme. Then we will study the graphs in sale of booklet after a few days." The middle aged boss spoke up excitedly looking at Eva. 

"Yes boss. So, I have selected five more articles, for which I need your approval." Eva was about to switch to the next article when Hector stood up from his seat. 

"No need Eva. Me and dad have decided that we are now making you the incharge of the monthly booklet from today itself. You can work on its designing and also select articles as per your wish. We trust you completely!" Hector smiled, looking at the girl in much admiration and esteem. 

Eva gasped in shock as she could not believe what the man had just said. "You... you mean... another promotion? Wow!!" The girl wanted to dance around the table in much excitement and do multiple cartwheels right in the meeting room. It was extremely difficult for her to now contain her happiness, and she was already imagining the possibilities and creativity she could impart in the booklet. "Th.... thank you boss!" 

"Don't thank us. We should thank you Eva. You showed us the truth or we would have never known what was happening behind our backs." The middle aged man spoke up, turning to look at Tia in much frustartion. 

Tia was standing in much shock as Eva was hogging all the limelight and had also snatched away the booklet responsibility from her. 

"You are fired Tia. You will get your letter and the payment in few minutes from the reception. Your services are not needed any more!!" The man suddenly shouted looking at the blonde girl. 

Everybody including Eva, gasped in much astonishment as the girl had just been fired. 

Tia too gasped in shock as her hands trembled in fear and anxiety. This job was currently the only major source of income for her family and it was through this job, her sister had also started her writing career. "But... But sir please. What will I do without this job? My family will be left hungry!!" The girl blinked rapidly, trying to fight back her tears.

Eva pursed her lips and an enormous amount of guilt engulfed her mind. She did not know that Tia would be fired from her job and neither did she know, how important this job was for her. 

"You should be happy Tia, that I did not blacklist you from getting any other job. Nor did I file a law suit against you, for your fraudulant activities." The angry man spoke up in much frustration, looking at her in much hatred. 

A tear dropped down from Tia's eye and she quickly wiped it away. Her hands were trembling rapidly, and she was now immensely scared. She was scared for her family now! Her father's clothing brand was in huge loss and her sister had just begin her career. If she lost this job her entire family will be in shambles! "Boss! I am really very sorry. I swear, I shall never do it again. But please don't fire me... p.. p... please.. I beg of you." Another tear fell down from her eye and she looked at Hector in much remorse. "Boss please. This job is very important to me. Please." She folded her hands in request, now bursting into tears. 

Everybody was stunned to see the girl cry hysterically, and could never imagine seeing the bossy girl in this condition. The fake image that she had created for herself had been shattered. The once considered rich and influential girl, was now begging for her job and everybody was just starring at her in much disbelief. 

"No Tia. One year of losses of booklet is too much to handle. Do you realise how much you have harmed the profits and reputation of the company?" Hector's father spoke up in much anger. 

Tia wiped away her tears and nodded her head. She then picked up her bag and her cell phone, and started walking towards the exit door, feeling extremely dejected. Eva's heart was now filled with immense guilt and she looked at her boss in a little hesitation. "Boss.. please don't fire her."

"I can't wait to start my new job!" Leo exclaimed. Leo was twenty-three and had just graduated college for business and finance with minors of management and programming. He used up a lot of his money and four years for college in order to get where he was now.

There was a patch of forest where there weren't any trees and there was a rock that sat in the middle of the circle. He would sit on the rock and all the animals including deers, rabbits, and birds would all go to him. Later on, he found that he was able to understand what they would say.

"Hello, how was your day?" Leo asked the bird. The little bird sat on his finger as it tweeted and chirped.

"You're hungry? Don't worry, I'll bring you some food after dinner tonight." Leo laughed innocently as he saw the bird chirp and hop with happiness, but one day, it was all ruined.

When Leo turned eleven, his grandfather got very sick and without enough money to buy medicine, he eventually died. Leo cried at his grandfather's grave for many days. Eventually he was put into the care of Sarah and Dave who gladly adopted the boy. They took him in as their own and Leo lived a happy life, but after the death of his grandfather, he couldn't face himself to go back into the forest. In result, there old cabin was deserted and the forest was deemed haunted by the old hunter.

Leo lived his life like any ordinary kid, but still was bullied from his peers. They would tease him and call him cursed. They said mean things to him everyday at school. He would often be called cursed, a freak, or a monster when he would talk to the animals so he never did it again for he was afraid. The animals eventually stopped gathering around him and he never talked to them again.

He went to highschool and always got good grades and never misbehaved during class. He was in many advanced classes and in his third and fourth year, he took college courses to boost his credits. He wanted to get into a prestigious school and get a good job in order to thank his adoptive parents for taking him in. He graduated highschool at the age of eighteen and immediately moved out and went to college. His college days were quiet and were normal. He went through most of it as a smart kid who everyone over looked and never really talked to. By the end of the four years, Leo had graduated at the top of his class.

After college he worked at a small coffee and pastries cafe. He worked there for about a year and meet a few friends. Along with him there was two waiters that he got along with as well was the manager there. His friends were named Matt and Ethan and their manager was Daniel. The four got along well and hung out together even outside of work. Leo was able to get a nice apartment and had stable income. Though he loved working there, he wanted to make more money and give his adoptive parents a vacation.

His mother Sarah had always wanted to go on a vacation cruise with her husband, but the two didn't have enough money to do so, so Leo made it his goal to make his parents dreams come true. He applied for a job at a large company for a management position. He uploaded his resume and gave them his information. A couple weeks afterward, he got confirmation that they to interview him for the job.

The whole morning of that day, Leo was ecstatic and happy, but yet nervous and scared. He dressed in a casual suit, grabbed his bag and was off. He took with him his phone and copies of his resume, as well as some breath mints for before he went in. He waited in the cold quiet hall while fidgeting with his fingers. 

'I really hope I'll get this job.' he thought nervously while waiting for his turn. Along with him, there were three woman and four other men applying for the position. All others went in before Leo was finally called for his interview.

"Leo Anderson, we're ready for you." The woman wore a red work dress with heels and had her long brown hair ties in a high ponytail. She waved him in and Leo grabbed his stuff and walked in. He was very nervous and a bead of sweat appeared on his temple.

The position he was being interviewed for was to be a personal assistant for the CEO of the company. X Company was very big in the entertainment industry and the CEO wanted to have someone to do his errands around the office.

Once Leo entered, he sat down, but was scared by an intimidating gaze. The man wore a black suit with a light gray tie and had black hair that he wore in a messy, but sophisticated style. The man had ivory skin and dark brown eyes that seemed to see right through you.

'So this is the man I have to work for. He seems really scaring' Leo thought.

"Hello my name is Leo Anderson and I would like to apply for the personal assistant position." Leo greeted kindly.

"What is your education?" the man asked while staring at Leo.

"Well, I have a bachelor's in business and finance as well as minors in management and programming." Leo replied nervously. He tried to not show his nervousness as much as he could.

"So why do you want to work in this position and field?"

"I want to work in this field because I've always loved and wanted to work in the entertainment industry and I want to work in the position since I know how to work and serve people." Only half of that was true. Leo did love the entertainment industry, but the real reason he wanted to work in that position in particular is because he would be paid a lot of money.

The man smiled and chuckled, then said, "Alright that's all we need. You are excused."

Leo was surprised at how fast the interview was and didn't know exactly how to respond. He said shyly, "Ok, thank you sir." then left the room.

The woman was surprised at the man's actions and said, "Um sir? You haven't smiled or shown any interest in anyone so far, is he the one you want to work for you?"

He chuckled again and said, "Yes I do actually. This Leo Anderson intrigues me and I would like him to start working next week."

"Would you like me to tell him sir?"

"Yes, please do."

"Yes sir." The woman walked out of the room and said, "Everyone except Leo Anderson is dismissed."

Many  scowled while the others just sighed at the missed opportunity. The all walked out and Leo was still stunned. The woman walked up Leo and stretched out her hand towards him. "Congratulations, you got the job. You will be starting at 7am next week monday."

Leo shook her hand before saying, "Thank you, I'm glad I got the job. I'll see you next week. Do you have any tips for me next week?"

"Just that when he asks for coffee make it with two cups of water and three table spoons of french vanilla creamer. Also that his favorite lunch item is a turkey and provolone sandwich and you can find them in the refrigerator. And when he asks for his lunch, that's what you get him unless he requests for something different. And one last thing, always address him as sir."

Once she finished Leo thought, 'Man, this dude seems so high maintenance.' 

"Oh okay, thank you. Bye Miss....."

"Ms.Amber, you can call me Ms.Amber." she replied kindly.

"Okay, see you next week Ms.Amber and thank you for the tips." With that Leo was off and went back to the cafe to tell them the news.

He went back to the cafe to tell them he was resigning. Once he made it there, he told them the news, they were sad, but happy for him. The gave their goodbyes and Leo was off back to his apartment. Once he got back, he ate dinner, changed his clothes and plopped onto his bed.

"I can't wait to start my new job!" Leo exclaimed before drifting off to sleep.

In the quiet cafeteria, Silje sipped on her drink and smiled brightly to reassure them.
"Oh, it's so delicious. I love it. It's warming me up."
Tran and Niels looked at Silje in shock for a second, but Tran quickly started to laugh out loud.
"It's that good, eh?"
When Silje nodded, Tran laughed again.
"Then I will get you another one so have as much as you want. You are so strange, Silje. How can you be so calm in this situation?"
"I usually don't drink hot cocoa. I don't eat other sweets often either, but when I feel down, I eat sweet cake."
"Alright. I hope this makes you feel better."
"…Ok. Thank you."
Silje took another sip from her cup and said quietly, "Thank you for being with me like this. It… really helps."
Niels still looked worried when he replied, "Don't feel thankful for things like this. You work here with us, which means you are family. Like I told you before, this place will always be open for you. You can come and rest here whenever you want."
"I know. I will."
Silje looked much better as she smiled.
Niels acted gruff and Tran could be too honest, but both were always there for Silje.

In his late forties, Niels was over 190 centimeters and every time he smiled, beautiful wrinkles covered his entire face. He was sophisticated, kind, and loved to drink too much aquavit, which drove Tran crazy. Tran once told Silje that when Niels was young, he was a very famous model.
"Silje and Tran, if my wife didn't die so young, I would've adopted both of you."
This was what Niels often said to them. And he meant it.

Dark tanned Tran was adopted from Vietnam and she enjoyed surfing and scuba diving. Silje and Tran had a lot in common.
Tran said to Silje, "Silje, you look tough on the outside, but I know how soft-hearted you are. And your family is strange. I know you told me not to say bad things about your adoptive parents, but if it was me, I would've never let them treat me like that. Physical abuse isn't the only kind of abuse."
Tran spoke harshly, but Silje knew how much Tran cared about her. She often packed Silje's lunches and gave her days off at the cafeteria.
Perhaps it was thanks to Niels, Tran, and this place that Silje was able to survive this long. This was the closest thing Silje had to a true home.
 
"I'm looking for a part-time job."
It seemed like yesterday when Silje entered the cafeteria for the first time. At the time, she was so tired of her life. Her vicious bullies and her adoptive parents who pretended nothing was happening to her at school… Her life seemed hopeless.
Silje instinctively knew she had to become independent as soon as possible. Until she graduated, she couldn't do much, but Silje planned on leaving home as soon as she finished school. And to do this, she needed money, so she started to look for a job.
Unfortunately, she was still in school, so it was very difficult for her to find a job. Then one rainy day, she was walking aimlessly when she saw a cafeteria that was located quite far away from her neighborhood.

It was the name of the cafeteria and it meant forest in the Norwegian language. With a hopeful heart, Silje walked in and met Niels and Tran for the first time.
"Boss! I packed you lunch today, so why are you just drinking aquavit? It's going to ruin your stomach."
"I told you, I will eat my lunch later. Leave me alone."
"I took the time to pack you a lunch, yet here you are ignoring it. You are so annoying. I will never make you anything ever again."
They were arguing even then, but the way they acted so close with each other made the cafeteria feel cozy and friendly.
It immediately felt like home to Silje. When Tran brought her the hot cocoa she ordered, Silje hesitantly mentioned, "I-I'm looking for a part-time job...."
But she didn't specifically say she wanted to work there. She wasn't ready to be outright rejected by a place she had fallen in love with at first glance.
When Silje didn't leave even after she finished her drink, Niels and Tran kept glancing at her. They whispered to each other and Niels came to Silje and smiled kindly.
"If you like it here, you can stay as long as you want. My cafeteria is always open so you can come whenever you want."
Tran quickly interrupted, "It's not that! She probably fell in love with my fabulous hot cocoa. That must be why she can't leave, right?"
Was it because they realized she liked the place? Niels and Tran treated her kindly from the beginning and Silje never forgot that moment.
And just like that, Silje found a place where she could rest. Every time she felt hurt by her adoptive parents, her family at [skog] was there for her. They were her real family.
Niels' place was not far from Oslo's Frogner station. It had a farm feel to it, and it gave off a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. It was a perfect place to meet friends and chat or read a book and have a cup of tea.

Here, Silje learned that there could be places where she wouldn't get hurt.
In this place, she could be her true self. She could laugh and work without any fear and anxiety. Perhaps this job was what kept her going.
She saved all the money from this job in her desk. She kept it a secret and dreamt of the day when she could finally escape.
Silje owed so much to these two people, and today, she was again saved by Niels and Tran.
With her bandaged wrist, she said goodbye to them and left the one place she felt was safe.
"Thank you for your help today. I will never forget it."
"You are so stubborn, Silje! I will drive you home. Get in my car!"
Tran raised her voice, but Silje continued to walk. Watching her, who still looked very weak, Niels asked in frustration, "Are you going to tell your adoptive parents what happened today? Obviously, they need to know."
"No."
Silje had made her decision. She explained, "I won't tell them. Nothing will change even if I do."
"Oh my god. You aren't going to tell them anything even with your wrist? No matter how hard I try, I can't understand. It's just not right. What has this world come to?"
Niels sighed unhappily, but Silje just smiled.
"I'm ok, because I know I'm not alone. I gotta get going. Thank you again so much for today, Niels and Tran. Thank you for being there for me."

Min Ju drunk a whole lot of liquor to ease the pain in her heart. Because this is the worst day of her entire 18th year of existence. 

She got a message that her parents got divorce. Her mother and father actually have another family behind their back. What about her and her brother? Who will be their leaning pillars? 

Today, she felt very betrayed!

Also, she found out that her 2 year  boyfriend cheated on her with another girl and it's frustrates her. He dumped their 2 years relationship in the trash! 

What's worse, she got a call that her twin brother got on a plane crash. There's a little possibility that he survive! They are still searching for survivors and should not keep her hopes up.

"Miss, your Grandfather wants you to go back to Beijing . He's worried about you." Her driver said, looking so worried about her.

He was with her when she caught her boyfriend cheating. He was with her when she found out about the divorce. He was with her when she got a call about her brother.

He was with her since she was still a kid. He was with her when her grandparents split.

This child had experience so much since she was five. But this child is so talented and was been working hard here abroad trying her best to hold onto something little she believes in. 

Now, she looks so...broken. All the negative things just keeps pouring down on her. Breaking her to the point of depression. 


"Uncle He, why did my life became like this? I had a good life when I was still a kid. When I was still a child, I wish to grow up quickly, but now I just wish time would go back when everything was okay." The poor girl covered her face with her left hand, looking so devastated. 

"What had gone wrong?" She continued as she drank another glass of vodka. 

"And you know what? Grandma actually pampered my stepsisters more than me. She don't want me. Everytime I visit her home in China, she'll ignore me. Well, I'm not complaining though since grandpa is with us. It's just that, grandma is living a happy life while grandpa is not. He gave up everything for her. Even his wealth. Now, he had so little. Uncle He, I really appreciate for staying with us even though we're already living a hard life for these past 2 years. Thank you so much."

"Serving your Grandfather was my pleasure, Miss. He save me and my daughter. It's my gratitude to work under him." The driver had a look of deep gratitude. Min Ju watch him as the dim lights shone upon his old face. 

"If it weren't for him, we would still be in the streets and my Rue'er would have died."

"Please don't cry, Uncle He. It was all in the past now. She's alive so make the present and the future filled with happiness." Min Ju smiles brightly. She was still beautiful despite her swollen eyes.

"And I wish you happiness too, Min Ju."

"Thank you. Let's go, Uncle He. We're going back to China tomorrow. Grandfather must have been worried sick thinking about me here. When I came back, I promise that Grandfather will live his life with happiness." 

"I promise that."

"I'll let those who left us, regret!"

"Mrs. Jackson, I'm sorry that I did not inform you instantly. I'll have to return to China today. I was so devastated yesterday that I forgot to call you." Min Ju apologizes. Her face are completely clear with makeup. Her lips pale and eyes is a little bit swollen probably from crying overnight.  

Mrs. Jackson shook her head and had an expression of understanding.

"You don't have to apologize, Min Ju. I understand. You had help me a lot in my garden, even running errands to deliver my flowers whenever you had time. You should live well and I wish you happiness." The woman said as she held Min Ju's hand.

"I would be glad to visit you in China someday. Call me when you need my help, okay?"

Min Ju's heart swelled with warmth. This was the woman who had help her get through all these years. She was like a mother. The person who taught her how to play musical instruments and had help her find a job after completing the 10th grade.

"Thank you, Mrs. Jackson." 

"I had treated you as my child, so please call me Aunt." The woman said as she tuck a strands of Min Ju's hair behind her ears. 

"Here. Take this money with you." Mrs. Jackson take out a fat white envelope and gave it to Min Ju but she refuse. 

"Aunt Megan, that is your money. I can't take it. You should save it for yourself. I won't feel good if I take it." Min Ju waved her hand. Although her bank account only have 15,000 dollars it was still a good sum of money for her. 

Slowly, she will make it into millions! It doesn't hurt to dream right? 

"Silly child. I know you like music. I've been hearing you sang in the past, remember? I taught you things that I learn in my prime. "Thank you. Thank you so much, Mrs. Jackson." Min Ju thank her with a deep gratitude. She will always remember her. The person who pull her when her feet was already deep in the ground. 

After her parents left them here in US when she was still five. She can't believe that as the years go by, they stop sending them money. Leaving them to fed for themselves. Confuse and scared, she doesn't know what to do. 

Her brother got a job in another country when he turn 15. Living alone made her anxious. She tried to call their parents living in China but they didn't even respond. 3 years latershe finally got a message that her parents weren't together anymore. She also found out that while on their marriage, her parents actually get back to their old lovers where they started to build their own family. For all these years they haven't even develop feelings for each other. 

And the most pitiful ones were Min Ju  and her brother who was deeply left in the dark.

Uncle He and Min Ju are already boarding their plane. It was a good thing that Uncle He is right there to keep her company. She had known him and her daughter while they are still wet behind the ears. 

She and her parents flew to US after a  careful considerations to let her and Min Jun studied there. Later on, a year later. Uncle He was sent after them to become their driver and send them to school since her parents are going back to China. She never knew that day would be the last day she will ever meet them. 

Little by little, the 10-year-old her and her twin notice that their maids are slowly leaving one by one. 

5 years later, she steps on the age of 15. Her parents did not even greeted them happy birthday and well wishes every year. This is the time that her parents were not sending them money anymore. She complain, why? However Min Ju didn't get any response, again. The money she's been using for school came from her Grandpa and Uncle He, so she and her twin brother decided to find a job. That's when she met Mrs. Jackson and her brother got a job to another country. 

 She became a cashier or a delivery girl of Mrs. Jackson's flowershop. When she was 16, she find a job in an internet Cafe as an assistant. She had learn a lot watching those noisy game players for a whole year. At 17, she entered a job in an office company and after 1 year of working there, she needed to resign so she could go back to China today.

It was a miracle that she completed 10th grade despite the absences. Fortunately, Min Ju is smart and talented. She always involved herself in school activities—outdoor or indoor. Even competing in sports festival and academic competition. Win or lose, she still still feel the taste of satisfaction. 

It was one of the most memorable moments of her life. However, she also had her bad memories in there. She gain a lot of friends, but all of them didn't actually see her as a friend. They actually didn't like her at all. 

They smile at her while she's facing them. And when she turn her back to them, they'll stab her in the back. Tss.

If one could burn plastic, she should have done it in the first place. However, Min Ju realized that it's bad for the earth so she just let them be. She hope that their personality get recycled.

She love but got betrayed...

She promise that she will gave her grandfather a life full of happiness. 

She promise that she will make those who left them regret! 

It was not revenge that urge her to live. It was happiness!

Many things happenened that change her strategy. She planned not to raise her hand but she was force to by her enemies. 


At last, Min Ju never thought that she'll pull the trigger to end everything.
