Pov : you are writing a letter to your lover about how you truly felt about your days together

It was so early in the morning when Lara picked me up from my apartment. 5am is the call time so we must be there on or before 5. 
"Hi S, hurry up.. I can't be late. I need to deliver my speech before we leave for the retreat." Lara was so loud while I still prepare and dress up.
"By the way, did  you finish the letters?" Lara reminding me about the letter for the 3 people.
A thank you letter, an apology letter and the letter for the best friend.
"Of course, I wrote you one. Don't worry." I said.  The apology letter, I wrote one for Ken and of course the Thank You letter, I wrote 2. One for Carl and one for Ken. I haven't decided it yet. So I made 2. Just in case Carl won't accept the letter, I can give Ken one anytime.
"So, did you write Ken a love letter too? Hahahaha" Lara joked. 
"Not funny! I wrote him an apology letter." I said, with a serious face.
"Apology? why? What are you sorry for? Sorry for loving you... Hahaha!" Lara was really annoying and maybe because of her excitement she throw jokes at me without even caring about what I feel.
"Funny?" I asked her sarcastically.
"Yeah, why are you writing him an apology letter?" Lara asked as we go out and wait for a cab.
"I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't give it to him. I'll write another one. for Carl." Well, I kinda look desperate and needy if I give this to ken. I should just give both of the letters to Carl. Well, Carl also deserves and apology, Ken doesn't. 
So..
In the taxi, I get my pen and a notebook. I started to write a letter for Carl. I didn't know that this apology letter could make me cry. Every word in this letter came exactly from my heart., hoping this letter could bring back the friendship we used to have. even though it's been more than 2 years, Carl never change, he still avoids me and never looked at me. He never smiled and he never talked to me. We were never seen in the same place. I just want to end this school year with no enemies and hatred from anyone. 
When we arrived at school, Lara went straight to the podium, all senior students were waiting at the gym. She delivered her speech and all the reminders we needed for the retreat.
After that, we head straight to the bus. I seated next to Lara at the last row in the bus. Ken.. was next to Alex, I'm not surprised. 
Some students were already asking, "Are Ken and Alex together now?"
Well, maybe. Ken deserves her. They are both kind and talented. They deserve to be together.
And suddenly I heard somebody screamed.. "Carl and Jane split up." 
Wait. What? Why?  Did I hear it right? Right now, I was thinking what could've happened to the both of them. For two years that they have each other what went wrong? 
"We still saw them few days ago arguing right? Maybe that's the reason." Lara said as she closed her eyes and leaned on the chair.
I was quiet the whole time and really curious of what's happening. 
Meanwhile, Carl went in the bus. He sit in the front row, looking really devastated. I want to talk to him and ask him how is he. But, I never got the courage to do so.

After an hour and a half, we arrived at the retreat house. It was a modern resort and spa near the beach. I thought it was an old haunted house like what I used to hear.
We were all excited, and we headed to our rooms. Each of the rooms have 3 students. Boys are separated from the girls. And, as part of the retreat, we where mixed with other students from class. Lara and I were not in the same room. And guess what, Jane, Alex and I are in the same room. This will be so exciting and fun.... Nooo it would be so awkward.

"Hi S, Thank God I have a friend in the same room." Alex greeted me as I enter the room assigned to us.
"Yes. It is. Do you have any ideas who arranged the groupings?" I smiled and didn't show how shy and embarrassed I was having her and Jane in the same room.
"Lara's the president, it must be her." Alex said.
Oh Yeaah!! It must be her idea to put me in this room with these two. 
"Hi, I'm Jane. Hope we can be friends Stef,." Jane offered her hand. She looks really friendly and nice.
But, instead of grabbing her hand, I smiled at her and said. "Yes, Jane. You're Carl's girlfriend. Of course we can be friends. Hahaha" I said sarcastically. "But seriously, I don't want to be as awkward as possible but, of course, if you're nice, I would be nice too. And besides, it's been 2 years right?"  I said to her.
"We broke up." Jane suddenly burst into tears.
"OMG Girl, save it for later. We have a lot of activities. Let's tallk about it this evening. Okay? For now. Fix yourselves and we must go out for the  first activity." Alex said, as she tied her hair, that made her face even more beautiful.
Jane stopped crying and I can't stop myself but hug her. I comforted her even though I have no idea what happened. "Thanks, Stef. You are really nice." Jane whispered.  I felt happy upon hearing those words from her.
The tree of us, went out and gather with other students. 
Ken approached us and he looked so happy seeing us altogether. But of course maybe because Alex was next to me. 
First part of the retreat was the film showing. "PAY IT FORWARD", the goal is to educate us about bullying. 
We all gathered seated in the resort's main hall, where there is a big screen like a cinema.  
It was Ken, Alex, Jane, Me and Lara. From afar, I can see Carl looking at us but when he saw I am staring at him, he looked away. He's maybe worried about Jane, curious about why we're together. 
Then I whispered, "Carl is checking up on you. Are you okay?" 
"Yes, I'm fine. Don't mind him." Jane answered.
I think, Jane has a story to tell. Maybe we should get closer this evening after today's activities.
After the movie, we all shared our experiences in bullying.

At lunch.. 
Ken, Lara, Alex and I seated on the same table and talking about Carl and Jane.
"Hey, what happened Kenny? Did Carl tell you?" Alex asked Ken.. Wait, Kenny? that sounds so disgusting.
"Nope. I don't know, but I saw them arguing few days ago." Ken recalled.
"Oh, yeah we saw them too. Right S?" Lara asked.
"Yess but stop guys, just let them be." I said. trying to avoid the conversation. Why is Alex even here? Is he part of the group now? I felt after she showed up, I got left behind.

After the lunch we proceed to the next activity. 
This time we were given 19 pieces of paper. There are 20 people in one groupd and for each piece of paper, we need to write something about each one of the members of the group. 
This time, I wasn't in the same group as Lara and Ken. This activity went by really really quick.

It's 6pm and we alreay prepared for the dinner. After dinner, we will have our most awaited activity. The letter giving.
A bonfire was lit and we all sit around the bonfire. Our class adviser started speaking and giving directions.
"Yesterday, we asked you to write 3 letters. One is a Thank you letter, another one is an apology letter and the other one is a letter for your best friend." He then get a box and put it near the bonfire.
"Aside from those letters, here are candles. You only have to choose one person. A person that really means so much to you. Somebody you will never forget even after high school. Somebody who made a huge impact in your life. I want you to reflect on this and this candle will symbolize your friendship and importance to that person. Take some time to think and grab one once you've decided. " the teacher continued.

I actually don't know if I should give it to Lara or to Ken. Lara's my best friend since first year. I ahve known her for 4 years. She's always been there ans she never left me. While Ken, we used to be best friends, we just become closer again. But... Ken really is something when Lara is busy, Ken's always there. He's like a brother and you know, a boyfriend material. Hayyyyy, Well, since I'm not giving anything to Ken, maybe I should give one to him. No other reasons.

I got all my letters and started giving the best friend letter to Lara.  I read the letter to her.
"Dear L.... You are my soul sister. Since day 1 you never hesitated to be friends with me. You showed me and introduced me to your world.....

After that, she also read her letter to me.
"This is a letter for my best friend. I love you and I'll always be here....."

As I run far far away from where Ken and Alex is, I bumped into Carl.
The moment I saw Carl, he was crying too and he suddenly hugged me so tight.

I don't know what exactly I am feeling right now, but  right now, I need a hug and someone to comfort me. So i hugged him back. "I'm so sorry Carl. I forgive you, and please forgive me for leaving you and giving up easily." After that, I was able to breathe again. Carl then gave me a candle and said,
"Please accept this candle, as a sign of forgiveness. You mean so much to me Stef, and I'll never forget you." As I accepted the candle, he hugged me again and said, "I want you back." 
I was taken aback after what he said. Woowww. wait. You and Jane just broke up and now you're telling me that you want me back? 
"Why? I thought You and Jane--". I asked.
"I ended things up with her, and she knows how much I still love you." Carl said, he knelt down on the grass and cried.
"Is this part of your show again Carl?" I asked straightforwardly. But right now, looking around, no one's watching. It's only me and Carl. No more audiences to feed and people to cheer. No other else to impress. 
"Stand up Carl. Before I forget, I wrote 2 letters for you, a thank you letter and an apology letter. Do you want me to read it for you?" I asked him.
"Yeah sure." Carl stood up and we sat on the shore. I read a part of the letter to him.
"Thank you Carl, thank you for loving me before, for doing all the things to make me happy and feel special. ... I hope, we can forget the past and move on, and I hope we can still be friends again."
"I'm so sorry Carl. Sorry that I hurt you, sorry that I lied to you and sorry that I didn't love you, the way you loved me. I'm so sorry and I hope you can forgive me so we can be friends again." 
Carl laughed. It's been a long time since I see him smile and laugh like this. For 2 years, I never saw his lips curved up and all he showed me was the anger in his eyes.
"Why are you laughing, I meant every word." I said to Carl, as my tears blurry my vision.
"I just missed the old times S." He lay down on the sand and looked at the stars.

Upon hearing what I said, Carl got up from the sand and faced me, "You also missed me?" He asked.

He hugged me and said, "I will do it anytime you like."
As Carl and I hugged each other, I saw Ken from a far, he was walking towards my direction so I stood up right away and went straight to Ken. 
"Hey! Where have you been? I've been looking for you for over an hour." I said, panting.
"Seems like you and Carl have reconciled?" Ken asked as he looked in my eyes.
"Oh yes, we're good." I said.
"I have a letter for you and this candle." Ken handed me the letter a rose and a candle.
"I need to go now, seems like you still need to talk to Carl." Ken turned around and walked away. I forgot to give him the candle. But what should I do?
"Ken, wait!!!!!" Ken looked back and stopped. 
I rushed to him and hug him and then gave him the candle. 
"I love you Ken, you're my best friend. This is so corny, but that's true." Ken hugged me back. and said, "Go back and talk to Carl, talk to me after you finished talking to him." 
I am so curious about what Ken wrote me.. but Carl isn't over yet. I need to go back.

ijima-Hoog was in his living room, sitting on the chair writing a letter with their traditional written materials, one of the armies was standing at his front looking at him. He put the pen inside the ink, rolled the paper and gave it to the army told him to go and sent it to North Vietnam right now. The army bow and said that he will do as he said left the room.
Ijima-Hoog stood up and went to his room to take his bath; it was early in the morning even all the servants had not woke up he woke up by that time because of the letter that he want to give the army so that it can get to North Vietnam on time. 

After some hours Ijima came out from his room going to the living room, all the servants had woke up and doing their morning duties as usual; the two servants passing greeted him and he replied. The guards at the door to living room opened the door for him and closed it back; one of the servants served him tea and going out when one of the armies entered with a letter in his hand walked closed to Ijima-Hoog and bow a little bit.

"There is letter from Thailand, my lord"

"A letter from Thailand?" put the tea cup down.
"Yes my Prince" Ijima collected it from his hand and opened it; reading it.

"I have been sending different letters to you Ijima the son of Hoog-me-Hoog but thinking that you are not receiving them because you don't reply them. Anywhere it the same things that I have been sending, come and represent your father in our business don't let all this interest get to other person's hand; he try than someone else should be enjoying his labour so come to Thailand and represent him.
I know that you too will brave like your father; the controller of Laos and if you don't come I will come by myself to meet you because we really need you in our business" he finished reading it and looked at the army that brought it; it was one of the drug dealers in Thailand that wrote.

"It is the same nonsense letter" said with anger.

"I don't know that it's the same letter"

"Any letter from Thailand open it first before bringing it to me and if it's this the same letter to bring it here, tear it at the sea"
"As you said my Prince, even it can be a plan between him and Xugier"

"Who knows, if he come here what he want to hear he will hear it"

"Okay" the army left and Ijima-Hoog stood up with the letter in his hand. Door closed after the army had left; Ijima dropped the letter inside the fire and went to sit back.

     North Vietnam armies was in their rooms dressing want to go for hunting; Indigo men too want to follow them so they too was in their rooms dressing as well. After some minutes Lobia came out from his room standing at the entrance to get down from army's house waiting for others to came out with his sword inside his pocket looking angry. 

Since Xugier had arrived none of them felt happy and they didn't laughed to anybody even to themselves including the servants too.
Others armies came out from their rooms with their swords when they met Lobia standing at the entrance; they looked at each others.

"What happened? Why are you standing at the entrance?" one of them asked.

"I want to tell you that this hunting that we are going to it is not animals hunt; it is human hunt those indigo armies will kill them as much as will can so that after killing all of them or some of them, we will know that it's Xugier and her mirror that we start facing"

"No problem, if we can kill all of them that will make us to move close to her. If she doesn't have any armies again she won't have choice then to be using us" another army said.

"We will try, if the mirror allow us to do it" a young man said.

"It is the mirror that am worry about but let us see how it will go" Lobia said.
"No problem, let go"

"Wait for me please, I need to see the Queen and others before going" Lobia said and he left their apartment going to the jail that they were.

The indigo men had dressed too standing beside their horses waiting for them; all the North Vietnam's armies came out and sat down on the floor at army's school waiting for Lobia.
Fortune's grandmother was sleeping when he got there.

"I greet you all the elders, I hope nothing is happening with grandma?"
"Nothing at all, she just sleeping normally" Teeson's mother said.

"Good, I just come to greet you first before going to hunting and I hope the servants is taking care of you very well as I ordered them?"
"Yes, thank you very much Lobia, please have you heard anything about my sons?" Fortune's mother asked looking worried.

"We have not heard anything ma but very soon very thing will be fine; even as we are going for hunting now it is not animals hunt it is human hunt, we will make sure we kill all her armies and after that we will knows that it's only her and the mirror that remain"

"The new and the old gods will be with you; just please let us hear something about my sons let know if they are alive or not"

"Calm down ma, you know your condition even my mind is telling me that they are fine in good health" said with painful voice and breathe in.

"Others will have been waiting for me, am going" 
"Okay! Bye" Teeson's mother said and he left.

He got to the front of the palace and others stood up walked to their horses, climbed it when they saw the door opened and Xugier came out.

"You have been going for hunting and you don't need to tell me" she said with anger.

"We are sorry my lady" Can-van-vien said.

"No problem, bye" the mirror in her hand started blinking red colour; telling her that their was danger. Lobia too saw the light looked at the army beside him.

"Wait! All my armies you can go with them; I don't trust North Vietnamese so go to your room"
"What happened? She have knows?" the army beside Lobia asked him.

"It is the mirror, can't you see it blinking red colour" all the indigo men had been going back to their rooms as she had ordered them.

"This mirror, how did it know our mission that it now started blinking"

"I told you that the mirror is very powerful, if it can talk it will have tell her anything" the army breathe in and looking at the Indigo men going to their house; Lobia walked to the front with his horse and stood at the front of Xugier.

"Let go, no time to waste" Lobia ordered when Xugier stopped them.

"I know that all the students armies should have been addressed by now, which day is it"
"Next tomorrow" one of them replied.

"Next tomorrow, and you don't tell me. How did you use to do it?"
"It don't need" Lobia said.

"It don't need? What did you me or you are saying it don't need to address them?"
"Just to give them swords and welcome them" another army said.
"That mean we will buy swords for them"

"Yes" another army from the back said.
"Ok, get money and buy it for them tomorrow".

"Will you give us money? Because no money" Lobia said.
"No money in the Kingdom's bank?"

"Yes, it's all the money that they have spent on building of Treasure and Tower. It is when the farmer harvest their crops that we can have money to full the bank back and if the two house have finished building" another army said, lying to her and also they knew that she didn't knew much about their Kingdom where they used to keep the money she didn't' knew it.

"Ok, I think I have some money that brought from home. Tomorrow come and collect it"
"All those money, you will spend it here without getting any return" Lobia said to himself.
"As you said, my lady" the army said and they left the palace going for hunting.

      Kinma opened his eyes looked around the room; closed it back and opened it again lifted up a little bit and touched his chest the wound had ill. He got down from the bed, looked at his body looking at the cloth that he wore and looked around the room.
It was Yuyuwan's cloth that they had been warring for him since; he saw the medicine that they had been using for him on floor and others treating instruments. He left the room got to the compound continued looking around.

"Where I am, who rescued me?" Asking himself, going out.
Yuyuwan had went to his friend's house when his father quickly went to market to buy some instruments to his shop after checking Kinma and gave him medicine.

"This place look like that old man place, that my friend" walking to the front of the house and looking around; he saw the man's shop locked.

"I said so, it's him that rescued me. Oh! God will bless him" standing at the front of the shop.

"Where is he? He went out?" continued asking himself, he turned back going back to the room. Yuyuwan had back from his friend's house entered from the back door.
"Hand of the king!, you have wake up" standing at the front of Kinma.

"Who are you? Please, I know the man that live here but I don't know you"

"Am his son, am happy that you have wake up. Let go inside" Kinma looked at him and followed him; door opened and closed, Kinma sat on the bed.

"Drink this medicine first, the doctor told us that we should firstly give you this before anything"

"Okay" Kinma collected it from his hand and drunk it, returned the cup back to him.

Door opened and closed, Yuyuwan's father entered.
"Welcome father, he have wake up"

"We thank God, Kinma how is your body now"

"Am fine Sir, thank you for  serving my life"
"Don't mention, take" Yuyuwan said, gave him food.

"It's Yuyuwan that you should greet, it is him that saw you at the back of the palace where his farm is and brought you home"
"Thank you very much, my brother"


"Yuyuwan!, it is when you enter that you saw that he have wake up?"
"No, I met him outside"

"That mean you have okay, you can walk. We thank God, since all these days that we don't know if you will be alive or not; you don't move your body but we thank God"

"How many days have I spent on this bed?"

"It is one week and four days now" Yuyuwan replied, packing the medicine inside the basket.

"I have been on this sick bed for one week and four days now?"
"Yes! My son, eat fast so that you can rest"

"Do you hear anything about Teeson and my family"

"We have not heard anything about him yet but his mother, Fortune's mother and his grandmother is in the jail that Xugier lock them" Yuyuwan said.

"You don't hear anything about Fortune and my father, Best World Fighter too?"
"We don't heard anything about them" the man said.

"I need to take my mothers out of that place and know the next step to take"
"You can do that now, you know that you just wake up"

"Me too need to give myself time Sir, I can't go anyhow I need to plan on it"

"Everything will be fine, you just need to rest"
"The King and others will be fine" Yuyuwan said.

"Yes! So eat and rest my son, am going to shop I have some work to do" he stood up and left the living room, sound of the door closed.

"Thank you very much for saving my life, Yuyuwan" 

"Don't mention" he laughed, sat on the floor.

"Tell me what are you doing for living or manage in your father shop"

"No! Am a farmer, it's the land at the back of the palace that I am using to farm"

"Good! It is farm that you are coming from when you met me?"

"No from my friend's house, because of your health I don't go for like four days now"

"Because of me, oh! Am very sorry"

"There is nothing to sorry for, let me allow you to rest. Am going to shop"

"Am feeling like sleeping now but I need to bath first" he got down from the bed with the plate in his hand gave it to Yuyuwan.

"Follow me, let me take you to bathroom"
Kinma followed him to the bathroom; he gave him towel and another cloth to wear also told him where he will put the one that off and left the house went to shop.
After one hour Kinma came out, he had wore another cloth spread the bedsheet and slept.


    The servants was serving afternoon meal for all the people in the palace when the armies arrived; went straight to the horse got down from the horse gave the meat to the servant that cross their way and went to their room. The servant took the meats to the kitchen and told others that the armies had arrived so they should packed their foods.

After some minutes they took the food to their house set the table around and left the room; the armies came out after one and other to have their breakfast including Lobia too.

Lobia came out from their room to the compound after resting for some hours; it was when the day had been getting dark that he came out going out of the palace with his sword. 

The sea men was packing the goods and letter when he arrived.
"Good evening, head of the sea men" Lobia greeted their head.
"I greet you too, army" sitting on a small chair.

"Is there any letter send to this kingdom?"
"Yes, I just told them that after packing the goods they should bring to the palace"

"Okay, let me have it and please any letter sending to this kingdom open it first. If it's for that lady go and give her and if is not go and give the first chief"

"I can understand, no problem" he gave the letter to Lobia and opened it.

"From Laos and from Ijima-Hoog. All the North Vietnamese don't allow that lady named Xugier in your Kingdom, she is not as she does, she is a murder and a drug dealer. I know that she come to your kingdom like normal person; it's no! She have armies and also her mother is a witch, find way to kill her if you can send her out of your Kingdom" finished reading.

"Oh! Oh!! Late message" Lobia said with louder voice.

"This man, I need to meet him so that we can plan together" he kept the letter inside his pocket.

"Well done Sir, am on my way"
"Okay bye" he left the sea and went back to the palace.

About a man named Sonjee; who was a Fortune Teller in North Vietnam that everybody knows. had a wife and a son.

"ohh wait, no I just got here to get my book that I left earlier, and I am not the one who sent you the letter" the guy said

"oh my what! what!" Xia said to her mind

"ohh this book is this yours? here you go" Xia said with embarrassed on her self

"thanks" the guy said then leave

I read and reread and read it again, I cant stop myself from smiling wide and feeling loved and all the more inspired. 'How corny!' I mumbled as I put the letter in my treasure box then shoved it in the innermost part of my bed drawer.
 'Ahhhh... I miss you so much too!' was all I could silently say in my heart. Words could not express my longing to see him. If I only had the wings to fly to him, I could have done it countless time already. How could  he say he admire my strength? I am too weak and vulnerable as far as I know myself.
I stared absent mindedly at the window opposite my study table. My brother Niel sat down at the left side to do his homework. I sat down opposite him.

"Had that Lester been talking to you?" I asked distracting my thoughts from that letter.

"Yep! he would greet me every time he sees me. He addresses me as his brother-in-law in fact." He said while pouring down over his physics book. He was in his senior high school.

"Tsk! He's not my boyfriend. Stay away from him." I said flatly.
