When he opened the door to his own room, Han was met with the pleasant sight of a room all for himself. You could forget about camaraderie forming by staying in the same room; privacy was better and more suitable for his situation. He turned to look at sir Leon de Harrington and laughed at his remark, "Thanks, I find it better to ask questions." He stretched an arm tiredly, "Phew. I'm sooo tired after that obstacle exam—I think I'll sleep after this, don't wake me up Timothy."

"...Yeah, I got that, Han." Timothy raised a brow, lugging around his sack.

Sir Leon de Harringtom let out a small sigh, "That's a shame, I would have liked to introduce the two of you more properly to some friends of mine. Despite all of three of us having different curriculums, we're bound to at least share a class or two."

"Thank you for the offer, I hope to take that chance some other time. Maybe when I'm not worn out from the test." Han grinned, before looking at his friend. "What about you, Timothy? Are you tired? It'd be great to start making new friends."

Timothy shook his head, "I'll pass."

 He didn't expect that the guy would be reluctant to join Leon all by himself, did the guy really dislike them that much? 

"What a pity, but now that two of you are settled down in your dormitories—I'll leave the two of you to handle things from here. Have a good evening!" The young nobleman then strode away from them.

"You missed the chance to socialize." Han glanced at his friend.

Timothy shrugged, "Who'd want to make yourself open to ridicule? He might act all prim and proper but that's probably just a facade."

"...You have a really skewed perception."

His friend snickered and unlocked his room, he waved goodbye. "Nah, just being realistic. I'm not fond of you either, Han. Good night." The door slammed shut after that.

The guy was such a tsundere.

When Han Jing 'woke up' from his sleep—nobody was home. His mother must have taken his sister to school and then went around to do some errands like grocery shopping or something else. He rubbed his neck, it didn't hurt as bad as when he first fell asleep by unlocking the 'free-reign mode'.

It hadn't been that long but he was getting way used to the simulation.

He glanced at the window and noticed that it was a little late in the morning. The time difference between here and the simulation was starting to get a little confusing. "Time dilation or something like that?" He knew that some stories had people going into another world and spent years there but returned to their original world without even a minute passing by.

As long as he didn't exactly get shaken by such time differences, it should be fine. Speaking of which, he reached for his phone to check for notifications.

[ Races: Online: Han the [ Human ] is asleep. Take some time off! ]

[ Races: Online: World Time is 18:00 ]

[ Student Notification: Your first class starts tomorrow at 8:00, be prepared! ]

"So that's around thirteen hours where I don't need to be online." Han Jing rubbed his chin, "That means...out of twenty four hours, I get to be online for eleven hours or something. Shouldn't be too bad when I sleep through that time. And the time right now is 10am, so I need to be online at 11pm."

He scratched his head at the schedule. It was a little mouthful to say aloud, but oh well. What was a good thing to do in his spare time? Han Jing chuckled, "I need to find a job." It seemed like a long time since he had been looking for a part-time job but it was only like three days tops? 

"I wonder if there's a chance for me to keep earning money while playing the game…" He wondered aloud before deciding to get through morning routines. He took a bath, had a change of his clothes and found the breakfast that his mother had left for him.

This was actually nice, a little quiet time for himself.

Spending time at the game made him feel like he was living two lives, which wasn't bad and all but he still had to live in reality. The simulation was just that, a simulation. "Meanwhile the [ Players ]...are the real ones. So it means that they're like actually existing somewhere in this world or universe. Geez." He bit into the dumpling that his mother must have bought and chewed. "Mind blown."

If anybody had seen him blabbering to himself, he might have found himself at some mental institution.

But speaking aloud helped fill in the silence of the room.

"This stuff should be like… existential truths then." It really was big news, they were talking about Creators' purposes and other [ Races ] but he was still used to the idea of the other [ Players ] being humans like him. Maybe just some avid roleplayers that stay in-character.

As far as he knew though, there wasn't exactly any existing technology that could create such a simulation—so, yeah. He gulped down his dumpling and scarfed a couple more down. Maybe it was due to him using the simulation that he didn't find himself panicking as much as expected himself to do so.

"I've always read conspiracy theories too." He shrugged and stood up from their table. He picked up his dish and brought it to their sink. "Okay, it's time to…" What he really wanted to do was return to bed and lounge around all day, but he also probably needed to go out. 

"Maybe I can find a part-time job while I'm out? An old classmate of mine is supposed to be in charge of their family restaurant, maybe he'd accept me as a dishwasher? And one of my seniors works at their own family business too." Han Jing blinked for a moment and rubbed his face as he realized something.

 "Why do I know people who have businesses and I can't even hold a real job. Geez."

If only he had one way to raise his own Luck stats in real life too.

Han Jing was the worst kind of gamer. He was the filthy casual, a mobile gamer.

But you couldn't blame him for beta-testing Races: Online. He ended up in server sixty-nine so that was kind of nice right? A bully Demon Lord, a forgetful Elf that ignored their alliances and a mischievous Witch that's up to no good.

It was the time of his life.

Some of the authors on Webnovels were inspired to write their own stories after reading the works of famous authors. Perhaps some of them believed that they could do a better job. Xandarx: You can see it from their work, it's true. Like their character has embedded into the book. This is what make them different I think.

Zenith: I know. But not everyone is as great as you show them to be. They learn from their previous works While we are still struggling to finish one.

Zenith: They move on and get better that's where the difference lies. If you see any CN author who made it big, you can see that they had their share of experience before getting there, or for that matter, any author in the Western world.

Murakami: Not necessarily publishing houses only accept works they think will sell.

Zenith: The ones who get it big the first time are rare.

Murakami: So you might not see how they built up to their debut novel. Authors can have 15-20 scrapped novels b4 they debut, and the public don't get to read a single one.

Reili: Yikes.

Xandarx: Yeah.

Zenith: That doesn't make the author lose his experience of writing those scrapped novels that's the point I was making.

Murakami: But it also means that it's more like hit and miss.

Reili: True because they don't get the feedback from fans.

Murakami: They get limited feedback from an agent/editor who doesn't want to read their work.

Zenith: Yeah, but it surely is better than nothing.

Murakami: And they're left with a bunch of abstract and vague advice that they have no idea how to implement.

Reili: If they don't enjoy it, the feedback won't be as insightful.

Zenith: They can learn from their mistakes from reading their own works.

Reili: Well…

Zenith: If possible, from platforms.

Murakami: If they knew how to do that they'd fix it and publish it.

Reili: It would make the process easier if someone who enjoys the book to give them better feedback.

Zenith: It's called rewriting from scratch, and it takes a tonne of time if the author feels more interested in some other idea of his, he would do that.

Reili: I suppose so since the author being inspired will bring his book along.

VKBoy: If the ones giving review are professional editors, then they don't necessarily have to have read your work with immersion because their suggestions will still likely cover the basic flaws that amateurish writers usually make.

Reili: Point taken.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: @VKBoy if they spot those errors they'll put down the manuscript after the first page

Reili: Then again, its a little bit like movie critics. They may hate the movie, but fans love it.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: And then send a reply saying, "Don't send in another manuscript until you learn how to write properly."

Zenith: Professionals in the said field prefer not taking risks. Especially in movies, but books, you can keep trying.

VKBoy: Well, if there are errors in the first page itself, that's a whole different thing, lol.

Reili: True.

Murakami: No, but a good editor can tell the writing quality from just the first page even if you've crafted it perfectly, they can just tell that the rest will be shit.

Reili: You have to also take into account of one punch man. The original comic looks terrible, but the redraw made it amazing.

Zenith: That's smartness of the creator.

VKBoy: Well, in one punch man's case, it got attention from the companies after it got popular in the online communities.

Reili: So a persons writing and grammar may be terrible, but with a little editing, the story itself could be amazing.

Zenith: You can let the editor do the Shi*t and focus on your story, It works.

Overlord Venus: Yeah, solo leveling is a good example. The story is bland.

Reili: But it would also help if the author re-reads the edit to make sure the essence of their story is still there.

HavenlyJeep: Essence and core backbone.

Zenith: @Reili It depends on what the author wants, and how much work he is willing to put in.

Reili: @Zenith true.

VKBoy: Of course, some editors just butcher the style of the author.

Reili: Same but honestly I just use Grammarly and the read aloud function in word to make sure the chapter makes sense.

Zenith: You can learn about writing, grammar, editing if you truly want. It is just the question of, would you?

Reili: I'm more into thinking up ideas and writing them than editing.

VKBoy: Editing is also writing, mate. Rewriting is where real writing lies.

Zenith: It's a skill in writing a story, but your choice.

Reili: Point taken.

Murakami: You can't be a writer without being an editor.

Zenith: Editing it yourself can help you keep the heart of the story.

Reili: That being said, the more I write, the better my basic grammar became.

Zenith: You will keep the feels right.

Reili: Editing is now part of the process.

Zenith: And not make it just sound or look better, you give what the story wants
And that is a great thing.

Reili: Creative freedom.

Zenith: I want to learn grammar and revise what I learned.

VKBoy: @Zenith Learning grammar will take years, so take it slow and steady. That way, memories stick with you for longer times.

Reili: I do read mtl sometimes since I can't wait for chaps, but then I find myself reading in broken English and must stop.

Murakami: I'd like to correct that statement VKBoy. Learning grammar is easy
learning "usage" is hard.

VKBoy: lol, if you read mtl, your IQ drops. Believe me, this can affect a person's writing skill in the long run.

Reili: Definitely, which is why I stopped.

Author's Notes

I'm sure you've read this a few times in the previous chapters, but I had been reading MTL chapters for the past few years. I usually read "Completed" stories, and most of them are around 2-4k chapters each. Of course, I read the translated chapters first. After I reach the latest translated chapter, I will immediately jump to *cough* Google Translate.

Yeah~ I know. Reading chapters through Google Translate was the most…epic mistake I did in the past. I've finished World Defying Dan God, Battle Through the Heavens uhh…and a few more novels using Google Translate.

In the later years, I discovered lnmtl.com, which gave me a better translation (at least the names of the characters are not written like Cloud Che instead of Yun Che (Against the Gods). 

To be perfectly honest, If I didn't start writing, I would have continued to read these machine translated chapters even now. Reading MTL works if English is not your first language.

This is something that those with English as their main language will scoff at. However, for those who just want to read. As in reading something without worrying about anything else, then they won't care even if it's a machine translated chapter. As long as they will be able to read the NEXT chapter, then it's all good.

This is also the reason why I admire translators. If not for them, these stories that we are not aware of will not be able to grace us with their presence. I would like to thank the translators of my favorite novels like Lord of Mysteries, Release that Witch, Against the Gods, Cultivation Chatgroup, Second Coming of Avarice, and so many other titles that I won't be able to list here.

To my beloved readers, if there will come a time when you feel like writing a story of your own and you're reading machine translated chapters, please stop now. I'm saying this for your own good. 

I understand how you feel. Believe me I do, but for the sake of the story you're going to write in the future, heed my advice. Stop now, while you still have the chance. Learning how to write from scratch with broken English is a painful process.

Then again, if you find an editor who is a masochist, consider yourself lucky. Let them clean up your mess for you, so you can focus on writing your story, and learn the art of writing while you write.

The three children working on the Lego castle heard some thuds and other loud noises coming from downstairs but nobody was crying so they ignored it.
"This has to be the worst babysitter we've ever had," Violet sighed as she put together a turret.
"Probably," her twin agreed. "I hope Aunt Jen and Uncle Cameron come back soon."
They all turned toward the digital clock in the room. It was only 9:02 PM and the party wasn't supposed to be over until 10. It would be a while yet.
"I hope Mom and Dad don't run into Grandma and Grandpa Hale," she said worriedly.
Violet had been thinking about this a lot since she found out the party was to celebrate Hale Investments' 100th anniversary. The company had their last name on it so it had obviously been in the family for a long time.
Dad never talked about his parents but she deduced they were alive somewhere because Grandma Hall was dead and Mom talked about her all the time. She obviously missed her mother. Dad didn't seem to miss his parents at all.
She had wondered why for the longest time until she overheard a couple of her teachers gossiping in third grade. They had been whispering about how she was one of the secret children from a big scandal eight years earlier.
Apparently, her dad took over the company by force to kick his father out because he didn't approve of her mom and wanted him to marry someone else. After hearing that it all clicked into place. That scary man her dad argued with the day he took her to work back in preschool must have been her grandfather.
Not that Violet cared. She had no desire to see someone who disrespected her mother or didn't approve of her or her brothers' existence.
Noah tilted his head in confusion. "Why wouldn't you want that?"
"We've never met them," Kaleb explained. "My dad hates them."
"Only because they hate us and Mom," she added quickly.
She didn't want Noah thinking her dad was simply being petty. He had definitely made the right choice. Violet loved her family and couldn't imagine it being any different than it was. Her parents were perfect together; anyone who couldn't see that was an idiot.
"How could anyone hate you?"
Violet smiled at the earnestness in her friend's voice. He seemed genuinely offended on their behalf.
"I think it's because Mom isn't rich," Kaleb said with a shrug. "I've heard people talk about Dad before. Apparently he was a pretty big deal before we were born."
"He's still a pretty big deal, dummy. Don't you know he was the youngest Fortune 500 CEO ever?"
He frowned. "No. How do you even know that?"
"Don't you remember when Dad had to give that interview for a business magazine? They gave him a copy and I happened to read it. Dad is super smart; he's practically a legend in the business world," Violet said proudly.
She thought it was pretty cool her dad had accomplished so much, especially since he did it for the sake of their mom. Apparently he had always been a mushy romantic. Just looking at the way he acted around his wife and children you would never suspect he was such a big shot.
Kaleb raised an eyebrow at her. "You read something from a grownups magazine when you were like six? Why am I not surprised."
Violet stuck her tongue out at him. Her brother was always teasing her for how much she loved to read. She would read anything she could get her hands on, okay?
Fiction, nonfiction…it didn't matter. Books were how she survived being alone at school. Sometimes she sat with her brother and his friends at lunch but they were so noisy. She typically preferred spending her lunchtime in the library since fourth graders and second graders had different lunchtimes and she couldn't hang out with Noah.
She had actually run out of interesting books to read at the elementary school's library so her mother started taking her to the public library every week to get more challenging reading material. Violet always kept one or two of those books in her backpack so she wouldn't get bored.
"I think it's cool that you read so much," Noah said absentmindedly as he focused on building the Lego dragon.  "You get your homework done faster than anybody because of how fast you can read. I'm jealous."
This was true. Violet and Kaleb had roughly the same amount of homework even though they had different teachers and she always finished hers in one fourth of the time that it took him. He had complained about it more than once because she got to go play while he was still working at the kitchen table under his mother's watchful eye.
She shrugged. "You say that but kids call me a freak for finishing workbooks in class so quickly. Sometimes my teachers think I'm cheating on tests too. I'm not though; I'm just fast."
"Well that's dumb. They shouldn't give you a hard time for being smarter than them," Noah said as if it should be completely obvious. 
That's exactly what she thought, even if she wouldn't admit it aloud. Her mom always told her it wasn't polite to brag when she said things like that.
"People don't like what they can't do themselves," Kaleb said gruffly. "That's on them, Vi, not you."
Violet felt an overwhelming surge of affection for her brother. Normally he wasn't so great with words but she definitely felt his fierce love for her from those words, even if they weren't conventional. She leaned over to kiss his cheek.
"Thanks, Kal," she said with a bright smile.
Kaleb turned red. "Don't do that; it's embarrassing!"
She couldn't see what the big deal was. Cheek kisses happened all the time in their family. He didn't seem to mind when Mom did it. Then again, she normally only did it at home. Noah was watching.
He didn't seem happy about it either. A sulky expression made its way onto his face. "Where's my kiss? I said basically the same thing he did!"
"You're not my brother," Violet said as she rolled her eyes.
It was completely obvious. Mom said you weren't supposed to kiss people outside your family until you got older, advising her to save it for someone she was in love with. She couldn't even imagine something that far off.
Noah grumbled but didn't have an adequate response for that so they went back to building the castle in silence.

"Eh! I'm not dead?" Was the the first vestiges of thoughts Angel had upon drawing breath again. 
Immediately, the pitch blackness of his surrounding greatly shocked him; he wasn't afraid of the dark or anything of that manner but the sudden wakefulness in darkness was bewildering. 

The mossy damp earth clung to his skin. Suddenly he was beset by extreme bodily pain. He felt as if his bones were breaking and his skin peeling, so intense he couldn't even scream. His body was contorting in excruciating angles.

The torture seemly lasted for hours but it was actually mere moments. His body flattened to the ground  as the pain slowly faded away; during the wait his eyes adjusted to the low light.

Taking deep breaths he began to inspect his surroundings. By his inspection he confirmed he was in some cavern. Above him was a gaping hole, from the light that pierced downward it was daytime. 

"How did I get here?" He stated aloud as he couldn't understand his current situation.

"Ouch!" He yelped. As his head felt as if someone placed in a vice like grip and started squeezing. 

He  struggled to get up. He starred around. The light from above barely illuminated the cavern he was located inside; thankfully the moss glowed and his eyes were still adjusting. He patted himself down, trying to see if he had hidden wounds he needed to take care of before he looked for help. 

He checked around the cavern but soon found a spring, the water was extremely clear, it almost looked as if had a blue hue to it. He rubbed his eyes as he starred down at it. But, the strange blue water became a after though as he saw himself in the water reflection.

In the reflection looking back at him was not the face he has worn for 19 years of his life. He was gobsmacked at his appearance; before him was not the overweight appearance, nor the neckbeard he famously had since he couldn't grow a full beard like others.  Before him was the appearance  of a young boy.

He had silky black kinky-curly locks of hair with blue  streaks. His eyes were heterochromatic, the left one deep purple, the right crimson red. His skin tone was a red- brown hue, strange albeit mesmerizing it reminded him of the great Sahara desserts back home; he had a angular face that still had some pudginess that came with a  childlike handsomeness.

"Th- this is unbelievable!" He stammered as he played with his face and hair in the reflection.

He realized something out of the twilight zone had obviously happened to him. Suddenly,  a stream of memories majority not belonging to him flooded his mind. Those new memorie were  of the previous body owner named Matthew. 

"This must be  transmigration." As he vividly remembered  how the earth literally crumbled under his feet and exploded without warning or care, not even the government had a warning; everyone could only share in shock as the Earth ended. 

He could only shake his head. Matthew, was a orphan, he had spent ten years inside the local orphanage. Six months ago, which was his tenth birthday he was forced out on he pretense of age?  But, it was actually because because he was born with maligned meridians, which meant he couldn't cultivate.

'Such a vile woman,' thought Angel. The 'venomous matron' over the orphanage didn't even give him his separation allowance, which was afforded to teens who leave the orphanage, she assumed he would be consumed in the forest or captured and sold into slavery. 

Her actions were against the laws of the land. But, who hear out a wastrel?  Matthew was considered trash in this world eyes, society placed those with power above those withou. This is a world where one power existed alongside the law. 

Matthew had actually  tried  to find a small job or a trade around the town. Though, he found small work here and there he went hungry and cold  many nights. He eventually came across a group of teens who were slightly better off them him. Traveling along with the aforementioned group for some time they became small time hunters; hunters were men and women who hunted beast for their bodies and cores, which sold quite a lot. 

All was going great until another boy joined their party. 

Matthew position in the group put to question. Him being born with maligned veins meant he was just a normal human, he didn't even have access to his status, which was normal; being the only unranked member of the motley group of hunters even though he pulled his weight and at times worked harder then the others; nevertheless,  he was pushed from the group. 

Afterwards, he learned it was the blonde haired teen named Samuel. Samuel was the son of a Merchant, with that backing he was well equipped and he even was looked on as magnanimously pertaining to Matthew situation by the group of hunters. 

The truth was he had admired  Tiara; he later had even falling for her. Unfortunately, for Matt, Samuel had already had designs on the girl. It was later he relaized Tiara didn't feel the same; he even made a fool of himself in the town after his confession to her.  

He even pleaded, going as far as getting on his knees. It was quite embarrassing. The physiological blow caused him to disregard better judgment as he ended up venturing further into woodland with a broken heart. 

One day he was hunting in the forest when he came upon a rank 1 beast. Matthew, a normal teenager couldn't hope to contend with such a existence, he could barely hunt unranked beast. He quickly fled away from the beast but ended up falling into this place, which was almost a  30 foot drop.  

Though he absorbed all of Matthew memories he didn't feel connected to them, he thought the teen was quite sad actually; he himself never had a lover either, but being well read personally he was never a fool and avoided the signs of unrequited love. 

He felt a pinch on his nape and remembered what had happened to him. Earth suddenly exploded, killing him; his soul somehow managed to take hold of this body right after Matthew  soul departed.

Angel was an avid reader and video gamer, he enjoyed fantasy and RPG the most. From the memories of this body Angel realized that he wasn't on earth, nor was he in his galaxy.  Not to mention earth suddenly exploding. He wondered if the Big Bang happened again?  

This was a world of sword and Magic. Here science had stagnated and barely progressed passed steam power and instead magic became supreme, which he always thought to be a thing of fantasy, though he always dreamed of it being real, like the literature-rpg stories he enjoyed so much. 

This was a world ruled by strength, where the mightiest  fist always won. The law of the jungle prevailed here. Matthew was still young, he  didn't know much about Gaia. Unfortunately, he had not been keen on learning about the word abound.  

Fortunately, it was required for orphans learn how to read, write and basic arithmetic and other basic information about this world.

The world was called Gaia, not so unlike Earth. Gaia held more then just humans, there were other races here. Angel was quite shocked at that tidbit. It was like Dungeon & Dragons, there were Elves, Were-beasts, Vampires, Undead, Demons, Dragons, Dwarves, Fairies, and many more. There were also magical beasts which were a existential threat to humans and other sentient races. 

Angel was currently located  in a country called Farsee. He quickly learned the language on Gaia was similar to the one  from back home. The currency used here was coins: 100 copper coins, equaled one silver coin, 100 silver coins, equaled one  gold coin, 100 gold coins equaled one White gold coin.

Taking a minute to organize his memories and understand his situation and the small working of the new world he found himself in.  His head and body continued to hurt, it was like his inside was burning then cooling, it was a queer sensation, cross between tickling and pins being inserted into him but not before placing them over a fire.

The number of pages in the untitled book seemed to be infinite.
