Then he went forwards, quickly read the contents to as many as ten pages. 

" Mag, did he anyhow shared a bit of his story? You may be have forgotten some. It appears here that he had been into a lot of pains but this woman seemed so senseless of not finding out how much he loved her. Huh, I got to go for a while, I'll be back after an hour. Albrecht and Baldur will stay here to continually read these journals for you." Then he kissed her forehead.

" Don'y stay long outside, you come back immediately." She told him while he rushed outside as he waved his hand on her.

"Hmm...he urgently met his men this hour, why?" She thought.

"Knock! knock! I'm the next storyteller called for duty.

" Haha! kuya! ( kuya is a Filipino's label for older brother) She accidentally called Albrecht that way while slowly laughing and holding the bondage on her wound.

"Aha! I slowly become "kuya" and I'm a puppet these days, you're enjoying with my company,  ha. Okay which page shall I read then. Oh dear, hmm...haven't thought that Sr. Sibal have so many stories untold though I noticed him before when I was still young, he oftentimes sigh at the balcony."

"Really? I'm curious if who's that woman he felt in love with and who's Chuck that woman fell for."

"This is interesting!" He smiled while picking out his old-fashioned eyeglasses.

" What? at your young age." She smiled.

" Ows! age doesn't matter to blurry eyes, heh! just keep quiet." Then Albrecht seriously scanned the next page that George had marked with. But he laughed again looking at her smiling at him wearing his old fashioned eyeglasses. 

"Knock! knock!" 

" Shh...yes? who's that?" Albrecht answered.

Someone knocked on the door and Albrecht looked at her still smiling and covering her mouth. 

"Its Amado, she's bringing something for Magee." Baldur said from the outside.

Magee signaled for "no." Instantly she was looking at the empty bed next to her.

"Ah, I'll just get out to pick it for her. She's yawning right now and sleepy." Albrecht winked an eye to her.

Then outright Albrecht got out and Amado handed to him the camote tops juice.

" Thanks Amado."

" I'll go then, I'm part of the meeting. The lieutenant now have waited for me." He whispered then left Albrecht who was inanely holding a mug of juice.


He looked at Baldur sitting beside the door holding his hand gun.

" Brother, why he risked his life preparing this juice to a married woman." Then Albrecht shook his head and brought the juice inside.

"What do you have in mind, kuya?" 

" Nothing, I don't like to be malicious like you - thinking so much."

" Hmm...look at me. When you were assisting them on my wound that separate bed is already there, right? He must have thought something."

" Yeah! I got it. Its because you are silly!" He whispered. "Here, when he comes back tomorrow, tell George to flap his bed away for a bit then just allow Amado to come in so he could see that you married couple stays in one bed. Is that a brilliant idea?" 

"Wow! you think better now. Hmm...I'll tell George about it. 

" Hey, let me see his veggie juice, I'll teach George on how to prepare it for you."

" I won't drink it and please help George to prepare its formula, I told him already."

" Hmm...Amado's a good man and educated. Its just that he really wanted to extend help, that's it."

" Whatever. But its good to be cautious, Ina Lolita always remind me of that. By the way kuya, please continue reading the next page now."

16 March 1916

" She was inside her room and told her to just go with me at the seashore (even if we drop by there several times).  I was saddened again by the arranged marriage I've had with her...." 


"Stop, Albrecht, are you not rephrasing the lines, don't put some joke on it."


"Of course, not! I simply read what I see, and why?" 

" Lolo Sibal wasn't married, never been." Magee intensely blurted out.

" But its here! its here! Where's my eyeglasses. 

"It says, " I was saddened again by the arranged marriage I've had with her." Then he looked at her with twirling big eyeballs. She laughed unceasingly holding her bondage while looking at him and called Baldur.

"Baldur! Baldur!"

" Yes, what happened? Oh Albrecht, what's that you're wearing? haha! Shh...Magee, quiet, your wound. Its not good for you to laugh too much. Albrecht, you stay outside."


"Huhumm..." Magee then yawned while still smiling.


" See that! she's sleepy, its not anymore my fault." Then he removed his old-fashioned eyeglasses. "Hey, goddess. I'll go now, you sleep tight." Don't worry too much to Sr. Sibal, I saw him very happy staying with us before, get it?" Albrecht then kept his eyeglasses and tapped her shoulder.

" Hmm...you'll be used to him he's really that comic." Baldur smiled.

The foggy night had chilled her again but put her to silently sleep and Baldur still waited for George. In another passing minute,  the door opened and George came in while putting his handgun inside the cabinet.

" She'd slept well. Albrecht made her laugh too much, I was thinking its effect on her wound." Baldur sighed.

" Hmm...that old guy's doing the same thing here." Then George smiled.

" Amado came but Magee didn't let her in. Albrecht received the mug of juice."

" I see. Thanks Baldur."  He nodded before Baldur got out.

"He came here for that juice again. Hmm...what's up with him. Interesting guy." He smirked while staying beside her bed.

"She's not inside in her cocoon now, good so I can see her face. Then he slept leaning his forehead on her bed." 

It was midnight when he was awakened by her laughter. He stood up and slowly covered her mouth. Then she woke up and slowly removed his hand away.

" George? Why?" Magee asked.

" You laughed too much, I'm worried of your wound. Its a silent harm.


" Ah, its Albrecht, I dreamt of his funny eyeglasses." She smiled at him and slipped off in her cocoon but spoke.

"Amado came." She whispered.

"Baldur also told me of that. How's the journal reading?" 

" Albrecht's not serious on reading them, hmm...would you believe that he'd read one page only, its on March 16, 1916."

"Don't worry, we'll read the whole journal tomorrow."  George whispered but she's not anymore responding.


He just went to his bed and arranged his mattress the put his back flat on it while putting his hands as pillow.


" Hmm...I got it now. Its maybe the reason why he kept on coming" He smilingly thought while closing his eyes.

Reluctant of her roots, a 20 year old Magee and a Captain's daughter - was sent by Lolo Sibal to UST in 1938 to study Philosophy. Way back then, Lolo Sibal was a survivor of the 1918-1920 Spanish flu plague who was accidentally trapped , along with the Captain for twenty years in the legendary cave of Kabang. Interestingly, the Captain left to him the wealth for Magee's education and returned to the United States. In September, 1941 Magee has heard from a UP friend that the Japanese are coming in December of the same year so she returned home empty-handed and stayed with her family. Without them knowing, her father, the Captain who survived has returned to the Philippines for another military mission on the same month of September, 1941 and assigned the 25 year old 1Lt. George of the infantry and the in-charge of the platoons in combat to take care of his daughter in whatever means. One day, during the early weeks of the Japanese occupation, one of its officials named Hakanori proposed to Magee through her mother and agreed for the wedding. Magee was against to it despite her multiple attempts to escape. Accidentally, the night before her wedding, she fell into the abyss nearby their house and found herself the next day that she was with the Filipino guerillas together with the American and German soldiers. She noticed the Captain personally but only in a short encounter and there - he was gone. In the fight for freedom under the Japanese occupation, 1Lt. George used a different tactic and studied very well the terrains and natural habitat of the place. He led the disarming of any Japanese patrolling and collected all their weapons and uniforms, worn by Filipino Guerillas in disguising. He also applied sharpened bagacays in holes, pulleys, and ropes in all sorts, throwing rocks, powdered some poisonous plants and made antidotes, used herbs and root crops for their survival and even dug some exit points and tunnels all over just to reach the cave of Kabang. Alongside with Magee at war where he only started as his guardian through the Captain's request had smoothly twisted and subtly turned out that he became madly in love with her. One day...

"We will not share a bed or a room."
 
Su Yuchen read out aloud. Xin Mei thought that he would agree to her condition but he disagreed to it.
 
"Not possible. We have to share a room and a bed."
 
"Why?"
 
"Because my mansion has only one-bedroom that is the master bedroom and it has only one bed. So we have to share it."
 
"You sure you aren't bluffing me so you can share a bed with me?" Xin Mei raised a brow and looked at him.
 
"100 % sure. My mansion has only one-bedroom. Other rooms are converted into my study room or some other room. You can check it by yourself."
 
Xin Mei sighed sadly and nodded her head. "Ok then, we will share a room and a bed."
 
Su Yuchen inwardly whistled when he heard her. By the last day itself, his mansion had three bedrooms. But he got an idea about this condition of Xin Mei. So, he had sold out every bed from his house except for one. He had converted the now emptied room into the storeroom and music room.

He couldn't let Xin Mei sleep on a separate bed. If so, how was he going to get closer to her? How was he going to seduce her one day!
 
Xin Mei twisted her fingers in nervousness. How was she going to share a bed with Su Yuchen? What if she did something out of her limits due to her hormones? What if Su Yuchen got to know about her crush which now had turned into liking?
 
"You will always remain loyal to me. Otherwise, your seventy-five percent of property will get transferred on my name."
 
Su Yuchen chuckled when he read the above condition.

"You will never ask or force me to cut my hair short."
 
A smile left from the lips of Su Yuchen when he read the above condition. He looked up at Xin Mei and raised a brow, waiting for the reason for this condition.
 
"I love my hairs and I don't want to be forced to cut them." Xin Mei shrugged.
 
"You know, so far I am finding all your conditions to be useless. There is nothing in there which I wouldn't have agreed to." He chuckled and read the next condition.
 
"You will always maintain this strong and powerful physic."
 
"You see, I will get famous one day and then I want my husband to look like my better half. I want him to look compatible with me. I want others to burn in jealousy on seeing my husband. So you aren't allowed to get fat or ugly."
 
"Don't worry my future wife, I wouldn't like for you to fancy some other guys. So I will always maintain my physic to give others a tough condition."
 
Su Yuchen read the other conditions and agreed to all of them. He signed the contract and returned the file to Xin Mei who smiled in satisfaction.
 
"Any more conditions, soon to be a wife?" Su Yuchen tilted his head and looked at her with dark eyes.
 
 "Yes, I want your help to destroy my jerk of an ex-boyfriend."
 
 A sly smile appeared on the lips of Su Yuchen.
 
 "With pleasure." How could he let his competitor stay unharmed? He would be having his fun in destroying the man who had made him taste vinegar a lots of times.
 
 "Something else?"
 
 Before she could even shake her head, he stood up from his seat and held her hand. "Let's go."
 
 "Where are we going?" Xin Mei looked at him with dumbfounded expressions.
 
 "Civil affairs bureau. Any time later and it will be closed."
 
 Xin Mei looked at the man with wide eyes. "What do you mean?" she stuttered.
 
"You have agreed to marry me and I agreed to marry you then for what should we wait for? Let's get married."
 
Su Yuchen held on the hand of Xin Mei and helped her up. "Marrying in a civil bureau is the best way of getting married for us. That way we can keep our marriage a secret."
 
Su Yuchen ignored the dumbfounded expression on the face of Xin Mei and took her to his car. Huang Chu smiled at the couple before driving the car to the city bureau.
 
"We can't marry now." Xin Mei shook her head. "I have to talk to my parents. They should know that we are getting married."
 
She became hyper because of the sudden change in events. She never thought she would be getting married on her first date itself.
 
Like really!
 
"I have already taken permission from them and they are very happy to have me as their son in law." Su Yuchen informed and Xin Mei looked at him with shock. "Soon to be wife, are you changing your mind about marrying me?"
 
His voice was serious and cold. Xin Mei could hear a threat in it. She gulped in fear and shook her head negatively.
 
"Good, because now I am not letting you go. You will be my wife no matter what."
 
Su Yuchen whispered the words in her ear and Xin Mei could feel a shiver down her body.

 
Xin Mei and Su Yuchen both arrived at the civil bureau. Su Yuchen took her to a private room where the marriage documents were placed in front of them.
 
Xin Mei looked at the papers with wide eyes. Su Yuchen had done all the preparations in advance. She only needed to sign the certificate and get a photo clicked with Su Yuchen, then she would be married.
 
It was like he was planning to get married to her from so long.
 
"Let me talk to my parents before signing the certificate," Xin Mei informed to Su Yuchen. She pulled out her mobile and called her father.
 
She was shocked when her father informed that Su Yuchen had literally taken his and her mother's permission, the last night. He had visited their home after she had fallen asleep.
 
"Xin Mei, get married to him. He is a good man. He came to our home last night and promised us to be a good husband of yours. He also passed my fatherly test. He is a really good man. I am happy for you Xiao Mei."
 
Xin Mei was shocked when she heard the praises of Su Yuchen from the mouth of her father. She then talked with her mother who was equally happy for her marriage with Su Yuchen.
 
"Xiao Mei, he is a good man. He understands that you are still young and don't want to marry now but we also have to understand the condition of his grandmother. Marry him Xiao Mei and fulfil the wish of his and your grandmother. I am sure he will always keep you happy."
 
Xin Mei was shocked upon hearing her happy voice. Guess, Su Yuchen had already impressed everyone. For everyone, he was the best husband for her. If everyone trusted him so much then why wouldn't she?
 
Without any hesitation, she signed the marriage documents.
 
Then, they were directed towards a room for the marriage photograph. Xin Mei was about to apply makeup on her face when Su Yuchen stopped her.
 
"You don't need to apply any makeup. Your face looks beautiful without it."
 
His smile was mesmerizing and he tucked a hair lock behind her ears. Xin Mei smiled when she looked at his face and eyes.
 
Soon, Xin Mei and Su Yuchen had their photos done. They were announced husband and wife, and their marriage certificates were given to them.
 
They were finally married!

"These are my conditions. You have to agree upon them before we can get married."

"Accepted. Each one of them is accepted. Any more conditions, soon to be wife?"

"Yes, I want your help to destroy my jerk of an ex-boyfriend."

Xin Mei looked at the man with wide eyes, and before she could comprehend, she was sitting in civil affairs bureau with a marriage license in her hand.

Yumi was stunned when she realized that Yuhan is not on his bed, 'Where did that little rat go?' She asked her self.

She tried to check the bathroom, but no one is inside, 'Ugh!' Yumi felt annoyed, 'Why do I bother my self looking for that little rat?'

Yumi took a deep breath before she got out of Yuhan's room.

'What do I do now?' She asked her self as soon as she closed Yuhan's bedroom door.
'I shouldn't be worried, there are security guards around the mansion, they will surely see Yuhan wherever he is!'

Yumi headed to her bedroom, but she still felt bothered inside even if she keeps on denying it to her self!

'Aish!" Yumi stumped her feet due to frustration!

She should at least ask the securities if they saw Yuhan, to make sure that he did not run away from home!

Yumi froze when she realized something,

Yumi instantly changed her expression, her hurried footsteps automatically turned slow when she saw them. She gave Jin a doubtful side glance.

Jin's footsteps came to a stop when he saw Yumi, "Good evening, Young Miss," He greeted her with his stiff expression.

Yumi stopped a meter away from Jin, she put her arm around her chest, "Why are you with him?" She asked sternly, there is no trace of worry in her face anymore.

"I saw the Young Master in the garden, he was crying, because somebody else doesn't want to read him a story," Jin said.

"Whatever!" Yumi replied as if she doesn't care about it.

"Go upstairs and put him to bed," She said.

Jin did not move,

Yumi raised her brow, "What?"
"Why are you not moving?" She asked.

"I don't know where his room is, Young Miss,"

"Oh!" Yumi blurted out, 'How could she forget about that?'
'This guy doesn't usually enter inside the house, and as of she remember, this is her first time to see him inside the mansion!'

"Alright," Yumi put down her arms, "Follow me, then," She said, she then walks towards the stairs.

Jin followed Yumi upstairs.

"This is his room," Yumi said as she opened the room's door.

Yumi took the storybook from Jin, and she put it down on the bedside table.

Jin put down Yuhan on his bed, he then straightened his body and he looked at Yumi, "I shall take my leave now, Young Miss," He said and then he turned to leave.

Yumi turned her head to Yuhan who is lying on his bed. "You little rat!" She mumbled, she then walked closer to the bed and removed Yuhan's slippers before she pulled the blanket to prevent him from getting cold.

Yumi is not aware that Jin is still outside, looking at her actions.

Jin raised the corners of his lips as he watched Yumi's sweet gesture.
'I know it, you still have a soft side in you,' He mumbled inside.

Jin went downstairs, he was about to pass the living room, but he stopped when he saw a book at the top of the center table, Mr. Alcantara might have left that book in there.

Jin read the book's title, it is the best selling book about business, that explains the power of disruption, why market leaders are often set up to fail as technologies and industries change and what incumbents can do to secure their market leadership for a long time.

Jin is interested in these kinds of books because it added knowledge to him.

The front door suddenly opened and Alicia and Dimitry entered.

Jin turned his head to the door, "Good evening, ma'am, sir," He greeted.

"Good evening," Dimitry and Alicia replied.

"Why are you still up?"
"It's already late," Dimitry asked when they approached Jin.

"Ah,"
"I just brought the Young Master to his room,"

"Oh," Alicia blurted out, and Jin can see the confusion in her face.

"Ah, T-the Young Master fell asleep while I was reading him a story in the garden."

"I see," Alicia replied with a smile on his face.

"Wait," Dimitry suddenly spoke.

Jin looked at his master, "W-What?"

"I saw you looking at that book," Mr. Alcantara pointed the book at the top of the table.

"Ah," Jin was not able to say a word for a few seconds, he thought that Mr. Alcantara is mad, " I-I'm sorry, sir, I didn't mean to---"

"No," Dimitry did not give Jin a chance to finish his word, " It's alright," He added.

"Huh?!" Jin was a bit stunned.

"It's just interesting that you have an interest in the business at a young age," Dimitry commented.

"Ah," Jin forced a smile, " Maybe because of my father," he said.
"He was a former store manager, and I used to go to his workplace before,"

"Oh, I see," Dimitry said.
"So, where is your father---" Dimitry stopped when he realized that he is being too curious,
"I'm sorry, I should have not asked too much," He apologized, he is just curious about this kid.

"Oh, it's alright, sir," Jin replied.

"Ah, I notice you liked reading books," Dimitry changed the topic.

"Yes, sir, It's my hobby to read books,"

" I have a lot of books in my library, you can borrow it anytime you want. I am giving you the authority to enter the library any time you want."

"Ah," Jin is almost speechless!
"T-Thank you, that is so kind of you, sir," He said.

Dimitry jut nodded his head.

"I shall take my leave, ma'am, sir," Jin bowed his head before he left.

Dimitry's gaze followed Jin until he is out of his sight.

"You seemed so interested in that kid," Alicia commented when Jin was gone.

"Yeah, he is smart, I can see my old self in him," Dimitry replied.
"You knew that I came from nothing too and I can see that kid has potentials, I believe that everybody can be successful if they know how to take chances."

Alicia smiled, this is why she loves this man because he stays humble even if he is a successful man.
"I heard he is good at school," She commented.

"Really?"

"Ennn..."
"He is a consistent honor student since primary school," 

"That's good for him," He said as he started walking to the stairs.

Isara had no idea just what was going on outside in Jessica's bedroom, or just how much of a brat his girl was being in that moment. She looked at him obviously upset, after all she was just called ugly by the prettiest girls in school, on top of that when she walked outside to cool off she got a message from her parents letting her know they wouldn't be home for her birthday. So as she remained silent for a few moments she finally broke her silence to ask in an upset tone. "Did Kira send you up here to pick on me, because i'm not beautiful." He'd sigh at her question before leaning in and softly pressing his lips to hers, before saying to her. "Your far more beautiful then Kira wishes she was, and if I have to make you my girl just to show you then I sure as hell will." 

His words got a tiny smile out of her, before she spoke softly to him. "Yeah right a guy as hot as you wanting someone like me?" All he could do in that moment was smile, before saying as he once again leaned in. "I figured that kiss would of given you the idea that I find you beautiful." She'd wipe the tears from her cheeks that she had claimed was just rain. Until her eyes drifted from his down to his pants then back up into his eyes, before she spoke. "Well you know a kiss is just a kiss it's something you can force, but however I do actually believe you." It was at this point Isara opened his eye's as the water turned from hot to cold almost in a blink of an eye, which caused him to shut it off and climb out, and start toweling himself off. Which is when he suddenly noticed the rather loud moans coming from Jessica's bedroom, which made him raise an eyebrow. The front door opens. A blond ponytail is scooped up by the wind entering the building. Her eyes behind her glasses widen and sparkle with joy.
"Welcome back, Andrew!" Helen exclaims. "It hasn't been that long, has it? And Mei too, you were here not too long ago either."
She let's them inside and they hang up their jackets on the clothing rack. The recreational area is silent.
[They aren't here.]
"Mike and the other boys are out for today, so you probably won't meet them, sorry." Helen explains. She signals them to follow her, and they head to her office. 

Helen makes tea for both of them and they sit down opposite of her.
"Do we want to talk first, or visit her?" Helen asks them.
"We can talk first, you probably want to ask a lot, am I right?" Mei responds.
"Well, you are right indeed." Helen says. "First off all, how are you doing, Andrew?"
"Good enough, I think. Melissa kicked me out shortly after I moved in, but I met Mei in her place." Andrew responds calmly.
"Kicked you out?"
"She only wanted to tell me a story, on August 6th, and sent me to the dorm rooms of Clifftell College two days later."
[Clifftell High.]
"I see… and that's where you met each other I assume?" Helen replies.
"Yeah, he's my roommate now." Mei says cheerfully.
"Good, good. I hope you're doing well too, Mei."
[She didn't even ask me about the story. Does she just assume everything is fine? No, I don't think so. She isn't like that. But, I don't want to tell her if she doesn't ask. That'll seem like just… I don't know, shifting the pressure on her or something. She must have not asked with a reason, maybe she already knew.]
After talking for about twenty minutes, Helen stands up.
"Well, shall we visit Julie?" Helen asks rhetorically.
Mei nods and she and Andrew both get up.
[Julie… this is the first time hearing her friend's name. In France, people are often named Julie, well, at least the people we met.]
They leave her office and enter through a staff only door, where they end up in a place with a lot of offices and machines. "You've never seen this, have you?" Helen asks.
"I don't think so." Andrew replies. At the end of the hallway is a massive metal door, already open. The three of them pass through it and head left after walking past the wake up room. Andrew looks inside through the glass door.
[This is where we first met. Helen left through this door.]
Andrew follows Helen and Mei, passing through a room filled with lights, buttons and levers.
[This is where all those people were standing and clapping. It feels nostalgic, though it was only a few weeks ago.]
After passing through a few more hallways and taking left and right turns, Helen comes to a standstill in front of a metal sheet, dropped down to just above the floor behind a glass wall. Helen leans against a large button, and the metal sheets get pulled up. Mei waits patiently with her hands holding each other behind her back. Andrew changes his gaze from Helen to Mei to the lit up room. The metal sheets are now completely lifted up.
[So that is what I have been inside, for thirty-seven years.]
The entire room looks cold, even though there is no frost to be seen. The front of the capsule is made from glass, while the sides are made of a dark metal. An incredible amount of wires and pipes are attached to the back and side of the capsule, and continue within it, to the body of Julie. Pipes and cables attached to her chest, stomach, legs, arms, neck and scalp monitor everything, from brainwaves to salt and sugar levels of cells. Her naked, frozen and blue tinted body is held up by metal bars with rings around her arms, legs and waist, while she is standing on a white platform. The capsule is filled with a transparent, gel-like substance. 
Andrew gazes at the capsule, and at Julie.
[She looks dead. Or rather, almost dead. Her body is still in shape and hasn't deteriorated at all. It looks more as if she were just sleeping, but the blue tint and lack of movement make it look like… death itself.]
"It's just such a weird feeling…" Mei starts. Andrew moves his eyes to her. "That I won't be able to meet her ever again." Mei is smiling, letting out no signs of pain or sorrow.
"Isn't the whole point of this that… she can meet friends again in the future?" Andrew asks, moving his eyes to Helen midway through his sentence.
"The point is only to let them wake up in the future." Mei replies. Helen remains silent, and just faintly smiles. "You were just lucky, Andrew, to be able to meet the people you love."
[Where is this going… I don't like her tone.]
"Julie is scheduled to wake up in the twenty-four-hundreds." Helen tells them.
"Why so late?" Andrew asks, while turning his eyes to Julie's sleeping body.
"Well, first of all because of the wake-up schedule and healing time, but also…"
"Because she wanted to wake up in the 2400s." Mei interrupts Helen. "She told me once, three years before the accident. I still remember her explaining everything with excitement in her eyes. Her lovely voice. Her positive outlook… on the… future…" Tears well up in Mei's eyes, and she slowly straddles towards Andrew. She wraps her arms around his waist, and he returns her embrace by putting her arm around her shoulder. Helen looks at them and briefly smiles, before pressing the button to let the metal sheets fall down. With them slowly covering her body, Andrew gives one final look at Julie.

Andrew and Mei return to their dorm room, both of them emotionally and physically worn out. Mei grabs a bag of chips and a can of cola and head to the bed.

Andrew looks at her, displeased. He rests next to her under the covers, and turns on the tv.

Andrew is silent as Helen falls silent. Mei looks at his face. His face full of thoughts. She moves slightly away from him.
["Andrew?" Helen says.
[Read… her letter. I haven't yet, but… this means I should.]
"Thank you, Helen. I'll talk to you later."
"Andrew." Helen says, on a resolute tone. "Only read it if you're ready, promise?"
"Promise." Andrew replies, and he hangs up shortly after, placing the phone on the bed. He sighs and leans onto his pillow.
"What's with the letter?" Mei carefully asks. Andrew gets up and walks towards his backpack he carried throughout the day. He pulls out the three coloured cards.
"My family wrote the blue one." He replies, while getting back under the covers. "The red letter is from my past friends, Keil, Sarah and Lin, and the purple one… is from May, my girlfriend."
Andrew opens the blue card and shows Mei the picture of him and his family. She quickly skims through the words, and without hesitation takes the red letter from Andrew's hand. After reading through it, she tries to steal the purple one, but Andrew jerks it out of her reach quickly.
"I haven't read this one myself, yet." Andrew says.
"You should, soon. It's no good waiting with reading a letter."
"I'll do it tomorrow." He decides. Mei looks at him, worried, disappointed, questioning. Questioning his decision. She gives the two other cards back to Andrew and leans back on her pillow again. Andrew places the three cards on the cabinet next to the bed, before returning his eyes to the tv.
"Hey." He says.
"What is it?" Mei replies. Both of them are still focused on the screen.
"Is there someone in you're family named Ben?"
"Not that I know of." Mei answers.
"Connor?"
"Nope."
"Michael?"
[Better list all my other younger family members too.]
"Never heard of a Michael before."
"Heather? Jolyne? Christian?"
"Nuh-uh."
[That's all I know who could be related to her. Maybe our families just go way back, but I can't possibly check that]
."Then we're probably not related." Andrew states.
"Good. I was kinda hoping it was a coincidence anyway." Mei says.
[Same here. It would've been too much if we were also related.]
Mei leans to Andrew and rests her head on his shoulder again. They continue to watch series after series, season after season, until the sun is already settled below the horizon.

Andrew and Mei are both having dinner, a dinner consisting of ready-made salads and sandwiches. The television is turned off, Mei is browsing social media, and Andrew is looking at the purple letter. Staring at it.
[Melissa said it. Helen said it. Mei said it… even May herself, went to Helen to say it. They say that I should read it now. Is that really necessary? Couldn't I just… rip it apart? No, Andrew, why would you? That's stupid… you've waited for so long with this.]
Mei turns off her phone and sighs loudly.
"There's nothing to dooo…" She moans.
"We could go to sleep, it's already ten." Andrew responds.

"Like, y'know…" Mei replies. She falls silent afterwards, and looks at Andrew. He is still looking at the purple card, flipping and turning it constantly.
"Do you really want to read it?" Mei asks.
"I don't know anymore, though, I feel like I should." Andrew replies.
"I think you should read it too, but… don't let it lead you. Whatever it says, don't follow it."
Andrew turns his eyes away from the card and onto Mei's face.

he came to sleep beside her after he took a bath the girl was sleeping soundly her long soft heir spread along with the pillow it was hard to resist the temptation of running his hand through these soft locks she looked beautiful even in her sleep





it took all the power he has to not take her the moment he tested her blood it's been a very long time that he took a human blood and that was the second time he drinks her blood and it tasted like nothing he had tested before perhaps it's because he loves her or maybe because she has pureblood genes running in her veins 






he wasn't planning to do these things to her but she provoked him and kept on testing his patients he could have punished her in many different ways but the sight of her lying helplessly under his mercy it satisfied him, he was being selfish and he should take things more slowly but seeing her soft skin and the sounds that came out of her rosy lips and how her body reacted to his touch it made want to see it more but as expected she couldn't last long 








lying down he pulled her body close to him as he gazed at her lovingly he kissed her forehead and closed his eyes to have some rest as he will have to leave at the early hours of the morning

remembering what happened last night Althea blushed and felt embarrassed at the same time he had saw and touched her most private places, the sensation's she felt last night it was foreign to her it shocked her how her own body reacted to his touch, she felt scared of the unknown but the feelings that he brought her it made forgot about her worries and fears, its surprisedly shocking how lust can overtake people mind, shocked her head trying to think about it more 









Althea lifted her face and looked at the table to see a tray was already there placed on the table " how did he know when I will wake up " she thought to herself 








she was about to get out of the bed when she heard a knock on the door before it opened 







" good morning lady Althea," Seiren said as entered the room 






hearing that she called her lady Althea was surprised for a bit before she returned to her senses " Good morning " she said 








" lord Kaname send me to give you this " Seiren placed a big white box on the bed 






" he will come to get you at evening, if you need any help please do tell me," Seiren said taking a step back waiting for her reply 







" I don't understand what I supposed to go and what is this box? " Althea asked trying to understand what is happening 






" open the box my lady and you will understand " Seiren replied to see Althea hesitated to open it she came forward and open it for 






once the box opened she saw what looked like a dress a blue navy dress in the middle of it there was a note Althea pick it up hesitantly to read it

Althea looked at the dress the color Is breathe taking she admitted to herself but she wondered was he asking her to go in a date with him and even if she can not do that she thought it best to refuse it

" yes, my lady " Seiren replied. 






Althea clear her throat before she spoke " please stop calling me lady I am no one lady I'm just a maid at this mansion and the fact that the lord has feelings for me that do not mean that we will end together, now I want to inform the lord that I can not accept his infatuation because I'm sick and I can't go out could you do that to me " Althea said to see the vampire female nodded her head 






" as you wish," Seiren said before she left the room

    Senpai could be annoying sometimes, but she was my senpai, and i could never be mad at her. Hold on you guys. You need to know what happened before this. I am going to start from the beginning.
    It all started one day when i wanted to write a book. I opened the Google Play Store and saw this app called Wattpad. It was amazing! I could write books, and read books, and talk to people about books. And I could socialize while doing it! I loved it. I started reading a Naruto fanfiction called Reborn. It was really cool. I followed the person who wrote it, aaliswalker, and asked her to read my book, Powerless: a Boruto Fanfiction (which is also my book from wattpad. please check it out) and give me some feedback. Later that day, I got a message from her saying that my book was a little too fast-paced but other than that it was good (^-^). And so started a relationship like never before.
    "The internet is amazing, walker-san! I met u on it. It has just one flaw tho..." I chatted to senpai.
    "And what's that?" she chatted back.
    "We wont know for sure if we r who we say we r. Which means we could pass up the chance for a good friend and not kno it. Ya kno what I mean?"
    "Yes. And then you could meet a good person and not kno it and just leave them before you should've. It's kinda sad, really"
    "I wish the internet had some way of verification."
    "If only, if only."
    "I gotta go to bed senpai. It's 2:30 here. I already stayed up until 5 talking to you before, but i need to go to bed earlier for once. Goodnight senpai!"

    I went to my room and opened a real book. Not one from a screen. "Marked," by P.C. and Kristin Cast. I started up where I left off last time.
    "From this day on, my life would never be the same. And for a moment--just an instant--I forgot the horror of not belonging and felt a shocking burst of pleasure, while deep inside of me the blood of my grandmother's people rejoiced." It was a good book. After a couple of pages I looked at the page number, 24, and went to sleep. 
    "Thank you senpai," I thought. "Thank you for talking to me."

Life. It's a beautiful thing. It can also be a lonely thing. That's why you need somebody to talk to. Then there's the internet. It can be the only thing people can go to, and in the case of Aiden Pinos, its true. This book is made by me and also aaliswalker, a friend from Wattpad. This book is based on a true story. "Enough!!" Noraya was frantically waving her hands in front of her. "Okay, okay, you are good at reading minds now!" She felt embarrassed at what she thought earlier. She did not expect that she would be able to read her little secret in her mind. She looked at her with questioning eyes. "Are you still reading my mind?" 

Macrena shook her head, her lips curved upward a little. She didn't want to tease her and offend her. She asked her to read her mind, so she just did. 

"How did you do that? I mean, I am not saying that I can't do it…" 'What is she saying? Why is she trying to explain to her?' Noraya was embarrassed a little. 

Macrena bit her inner cheek to hide a smile. Noraya's reaction and gestures amused her. She tried to make a straight face, not wanting her to feel more embarrassed. "I don't know how I did it. Maybe I also have the gift like what you were saying." 

Noraya looked at Macrena's innocent face. She can't read her face if she was judging or mocking her. She let out a sigh of relief. "Okay, I will take that answer. But I can't still make you my apprentice. I can't let you work for me without paying you. And I do not have money to pay you." And she doesn't need any help in her shop, for now, she can't even secure one appointment a day. How can she pay for an employee?

"You do not need to pay me. I am still learning and not good at it." She calmly spoke to her while biting on a piece of chicken. She doesn't care about money. For now, she will help her in her business, and when it is stable, then she might agree to be a medium so she can talk to Lord Mokabe. 

The coolness in Macrena's voice was making Noraya want to believe her. Although she still have some reservations towards her, she can't see any wrong in giving her a chance. She paid for her stay with her anyway, and she let her deposit her money into her account without any doubt. She seems like a good person too. 

"Okay." she agrees. "You can start tomorrow then."

They finished their dinner and prepared for the bed. For the first time since she arrived in the human world, they were going to share a room. She laid her exhausted body in the single bed beside Noraya's bed and closed her eyes.

Noraya was long asleep already, but she can't make herself sleep. For some reason, her mind keeps on going back to her previous dream about her mother entering the portal to the human world. She tried remembering any unusual from her dream. 

In her dream, it was her father, and Lord Mokabe reciting a mantra. 'How can her father be allowed to participate in opening a portal?' According to the law of their land concerning the opening of a portal to other worlds, only the members of the council can perform the ceremony, and it must be all the members. She only saw Lord Mokabe. 'If my father is not allowed to perform the ceremony, then who is the one reciting the incantation with Lord Mokabe?' 

'What was their purpose in sending her mother away?' 'How did her mother come back if she went through the portal?' 

She has too many questions. She knew that it happened only in her dreams, but her instinct was telling her that there was something more. Something that was hidden from her. She must find out what happened. She must talk to Lord Mokabe as soon as possible to find out the answers to her questions. 

She looked at the woman sleeping next to her. She needs to get this woman to trust her entirely if she wanted to use her as a medium. The problem is, she is too cautious in every decision she makes. She did not want to make her like her with magic, either. She wanted the genuine trust that she gained for herself rather than forcing her. 

She did not know how long her mind wander before she finally fell to sleep. The sun was already up when she opened her eyes. She immediately checked the woman next to her bed. She sighed when she saw Noraya still sound asleep in her bed. 

She quietly got up from her bed and walked to the bathroom. Noraya was still sleeping when she walked out of the shower. She must be exhausted from their work yesterday. 

She walked directly to the kitchen and open the fridge and see if she can make out something from there. 

Noraya woke up with the sun hitting her face through the curtains. She glanced at the bed next to her. The blanket was already neatly folded. She checked at the time and immediately got up. It was already ten pasts ten in the morning. She hurriedly walked to the bathroom and took a quick shower. After taking a shower, she jogged to the living looking for her roommate, whom she hasn't seen yet. 

Arriving at the living room, Noraya was greeted with a delicious smell, which made her stomach rumbled with a loud sound. Her feet instinctively followed the hunger-inducing scent to the kitchen. 

"You're cooking?" Noraya saw Macrena setting the table. The food on the table looks and smells palatable. It made her stomach made a sound again. 
"I tried to cook the left-over vegetables in the fridge before it goes bad." She glanced at the Noraya, who just came to the kitchen. "I already set the table, come, let's eat." 

Noraya looked at the food in the table. It's diced potato, carrots, bell peppers, some meat and sausages pan-fried in butter and topped with some herbs. There was some bread and sunny side up eggs too. She looked at Macrena, pouring orange juice on two glasses. 'Hmnn, not bad at all.' She smiled and sat down on the table. 

"I am not sure if it turned out good. I hope you like it." Macrena sat down in front of Noraya on the table while handing her glass of orange juice. 

"It looks good. Let's try it." Noraya smacked her lips and started to dig on the food on her plate. 

She looked at her waiting for her reaction on the food. 

Noraya nodded. Her mouth is still full of food. "Uhm, it's good. You did not tell me you're good at cooking." 

Till then, she let out a smile of relief. "I'm glad you liked it." She took a bite of her food as well.

"So today, you will start your apprenticeship." 

She just nodded in response to what she said. She was looking forward to see how she works. 

They continued eating silently with a light mood. Noraya volunteered to do the dishes while she went and changed and get readied to go out. 

It was already noon time when they reached Noraya's psychic shop.

"What time do you usually open?" She asked Noraya when they opened the shop.

"It depends, if I have an early appointment, I open on that time but for regular days, I open at one in the afternoon. I can't get up early." Noraya flipped the open neon sign on and went to the back office. 

Noraya gave her a tour of the shop. The small room between the receiving area and the back office is the consultation room. It's where her crystal ball, her tarot cards, and all sorts of liquid and candles that are used in her work are stored. 

"How long have you been working as a psychic?" She curiously asked.

"I grew up to this. My mother was a psychic herself. We ran the business together until she passed away." Then Noraya looked at her with a glowing eye. "Do you want me to read your fortune?" 

She creased her brows at her question. Can she do it on her? She can read a human's mind, yes but a human, reading a gods'? She let out a secret smile. 'This is interesting.' She thought. 

"Okay!" she excitedly nodded. 

Noraya smiled slightly, and her expression became serious, then began drawing three deep breaths. She began shuffling the cards thoroughly and expertly spread the cards face down. "Pick three cards from the deck." Her tone was calm. 

Macrena picked three cards from the deck and put it in the middle of the table. She was curious if this will work out. She was amused how Noraya became serious the moment she held the cards in her hand. She noticed that she was no longer the grumpy woman she first met. She followed her instructions without saying a word. She wanted to see how will Noraya read her fortune or if her reading about her was accurate. 

Noraya flip the card on the left, which she drew first. "Hmnn…the three of swords in an upright position." She looked at her with a serious look. "Hurt, rejection, discouragement, and betrayal. Someone hurt and betrayed you." She said to her with certainty.

She nodded her head in agreement with what Noraya said. She smiled at her, seeing that she was reading her accurately. 'Not bad!'

Then, Noraya proceeded and flipped the middle card. The tower tarot in an upright position. "Change, a major change is happening to you because of what happened in the past." 

'She is right again.' Macrena thought. She just quietly listened to what she said and silently nodding in response. 

"Well, in your situation right now, you are experiencing a major change." Noraya continued, then flipped the last card. This time the card was upside down. "The six of cups?" she creased her eyebrows.

"What does it mean?" she curiously asked, seeing her reaction. 

"Moving on? It means you will leave home and must move on with your current situation." She looked at her. "Going back home might not an option for you in the future." 

"You mean, I will get stuck here? That I won't be able to go home?" that's the worst news she wanted to hear. She promised in the name of her father that she would go back home. She can't let her uncle Matius rule the kingdom with his greed and selfishness! 

"That's what I read." Noraya was certain. "But this is just a reading. Depending on how you live your life today, and the next days, your future might change." She assured Macrena seeing her shock reaction. Her eyes are wide and full of disbelief; at one moment, she even saw anger in those beautiful eyes. 

She narrowed her eyes and looked at Noraya. "Of course, the future will change, and I will make sure that I will be able to go back home." She said full of determination in her eyes. 

Noraya felt a cold wind blew behind her when she saw her eyes sparkle with determination and anger. For some reason, she felt fear towards her. She felt that despite her being kind and pleasant to talk to, there was a side of her that is destructive once provoked. She shook those negative feelings, and awkwardly smiled at her. "Of course, these are just guide for the people on how to live their lives in the future. Your destiny still rests on you. If you are determined to go home, somehow, a way will appear, and you will be able to go home." She said as a consolation.  

"Of course, I will be able to find a way." She nodded after hearing her. She calmed herself and smiled at her. "You are pretty accurate on your reading. I am impressed." 

"Hehe, thanks. I am of the best in the area when it comes to tarot reading, you know!" 

"That's good to know. Maybe you can teach me as well!" The mood in the room has already lightened up. 

"You are already good at reading minds, let me be the master of this field now. Don't be greedy." She smiled back.

"Can you do psychic healing too? You said you could be a medium for the dead too?" she's interested to know if she had already experienced to be used as a medium. 

Noraya avoided her look. "I'll tell you honestly since you can read my mind, there is no use for me to hide."  She sighed. "I never tried becoming a medium, and for the healing, I do not know if I am effective with it."

"What do you mean?" she creased her brows. So, she never experienced to be possessed yet? 

"In this modern age now, nobody believes about talking to the dead now. I have never had a client that asked for that certain service." Noraya sighed. She is not even sure if she can do it herself. "For healing, it's more like pieces of advice that I give to clients as I ask them to burn incense or to buy an amulet. Not the divine healing thing that I must lay my hands and viola, they're healed!" 

"Hmnn…" she said in response, nodding her head. So, what she is doing is just to earn money and not really to practice divination.

"What if somebody asked you to be a medium to talk to someone in another world?" she probed the question hoping she will hear the answer she wanted to hear.

The queen goddess Macrena was wrongly accused by her loathsome uncle of killing an innocent human being, which is against the law of the land of Akijam. She was banished from the kingdom and thrown out to the mortal world. 

Feeling wrongly accused, she vowed to get her throne back from her power greedy uncle. 

Will her greedy uncle let her take back the throne? 

Will she ever had a chance to rule over again her parent's kingdom?
