I've witnessed the rise of countless powerhouses. I've seen Kingdoms rise and I've seen Kingdoms fall. I've seen the birth of new Gods and the fall of old ones. Only a handful of people are able to obtain godhood but is it really that hard to become a god?

I am just a student and I love to read, watch Korean drama and who is a die heart fan of BTS.
It is indeed hard for someone like me who is very different from other classmate moreover being a fresher in India a great problems..
Since last time I was found while writing my diary by my mother I quit writing it in any book so now i look for a digital platform to write...
This book wold be more like my everyday life at college...
Since I am from India: English is my third language so I apologize even before writing it...
Furthermore If someone wonders that why am I writing it you will understand it after reading my novel

Harry looked at the multiple runic circles and arrays he had drawn on the wall with a frown before he took out his wand and took a few steps away from it.

Then he pointed his wand at the wall and said "Titillando" the incantation of the tickling hex and a small purple ball came out of his wand, struck the wall and got absorbed by the wall.

He waited for the wall to release the spell back at him once again but when it didn't work for half a minute, he let out a sigh and put his wand back in it's holster before walking up to the runes once again.

He was working on runes that would capture and release the spells thrown at them so that he could put them on his robes but so far, he had not met with any success.

Well, he knew from the very start that this was going to be a hard project so he was not very disheartened. He also knew that he would not be able to reflect back all the spells but that was alright.

He would eventually make his robes immune to all the spells one way or another. If he was able to reflect back some of the spells thrown at him, then that would just an additional benefit.

He gave one last look at the wall before he sat down on the desk, taking out the quill and parchment and trying to create a new runic system from the scratch before Selena came out from under his sleeves and said "Someone is coming."

He put the quill down and looked at her "Who?"

The Horned Serpent waited for a few moments, probably sensing the magic that was coming in their direction before she turned to him and replied "It's Hermione."

He nodded at her and she went back under his sleeves.

He wondered if he should make some clothes for her that would keep her safe if he ever got into a fight.

He remembered from the movies that Voldemort had put a ton of charms on his pet snake Nagini which had the effect of making her almost immune to spells. Perhaps he would be able to do something like that for Selena as well.

As he thought about that, the door opened at an excited Hermione Granger entered the room with a huge smile and he instantly became wary of her.

An excited Hermione Granger usually meant trouble for him and he could only hope that she had not she had not started some form of campaign for the welfare of the Cornish Pixies or something equally foolish like that.

His wary expression only seemed to further excite her as her smile turned wider and she came up to his desk and dropped a whole bunch of paper in front of him.

"Hello Hermione." He said, his eyes looking warily at the large bundle of papers, wondering if it was what he thought it was "Can you tell me what this is?"

"Harry. This is the manuscript of the book that you told me to write." She said happily and he almost groaned. Almost.

But he knew that showing such a negative reaction to her hard work would seriously put a dent on her growing confidence so he would never do such a thing.

Instead, he smiled and patted her cheeks affectionately "Good job Hermione. I knew you would be able to do it within the time frame."

Then he looked at the bundle of 1500 or so pages and inwardly frowned.

At the start of this holiday, he had asked Hermione to write a book for the muggle parents of the muggleborns.

It did not need to be very well written or very entertaining. It just needed to be written with the facts about the magical world that is generally not told to the muggle population by the Hogwarts teachers.

It also needed to be filled with tips on what they could do to help their magical children and what not.

In essence, it would be the first book in history written by a magical person that would help the muggle parents understand the magical world to a greater degree so that they would be able to provide their children with better support.

When he had tasked Hermione to finished this job within the time limit, he had known that she would pull through for him even if she had to pull all nighters and had even allowed her to use the time turner with him.

And she had pulled through for him.

He could guess that writing these 1500 pages must have taken her a lot of hard work and time.

But he could not really sell a 1500 pages long book to the muggle parents now could he?

So with a heavy heart he told her "Hermione. Thank you for the hard work and effort you put behind writing this thing. But we cannot publish a book with so many pages."

"Can you cut down the size of this book so that it could be about 300-500 pages long? That way even the poor muggle parents would easily be able to afford our book."

He said 'our' book because he was going to put his name as the co-author of this book even though it was Hermione who had actually written it all on her own.

He had two very important reasons to do so.

1. If the book was sold by Hermione's name, then very few people would buy it. After all, she was just a 12 year old girl so what would she know about writing the book. He had a feeling that if the book was released with just her as the author, then she would get a lot of hate from the press and that would not be good for her fragile self confidence.

2. The idea of the book was essentially his and he was also the one who had given her the topics to write and research. Plus once she cuts the book down to about 300-500 pages, he would be the one who would make the final changes along with the editing part so he was essentially the co-author of the book whether he wanted or not.

Hermione looked a little crestfallen at his words and he grimaced at that. He had not wanted the girl to feel so down.

Cutting the book to 1/3rd of it's original size was like telling her that 2/3rd of the things that she wrote were not important. That 2/3rd of her hard work and time were not important. Such a thing would hurt any person.

It was essentially his fault that such a mistake was made. When he had told her to write a book for him, he had not told her the exact amount of pages that she needed to write and had forgotten how over-the-top Hermione could be sometimes.

He stood up in order to console her but before he could do that, her expression brightened up on her own and he gave him a firm nod.

"I'll do that Harry. I'm happy as long as we could sell the book to all the non magical parents and inform them about the magical world in more detail."

And before he could even say anything else, she took the bundle of papers from his desk and left.

And he had not even read the manuscript at all.

Oh well, it looked he'll just have to believe that she would do a good job in writing the book and not just fill it with boring facts.

Hopefully her parents would be able to help her with that.

And if the book turned out to be a disaster, then they could just write a better one during their second year and publish it next year.

With that, he put such thoughts out of his mind and picked up the carving quill once again.

It was time to get back to work.


Author's Note:- I always felt that the wizards should have wrote at least a few books about the magical world for the muggles so that muggle parents would be able to understand more about the world they were sending their child into. But such a book was never shown in the movie and it was clear that there was a huge divide between the people living the magical world and the people living in the muggle world.

So if I was wizard, then I would definitely write a book for the muggle parents and I have no doubt that such a book would definitely be bought by almost every muggle parents who cared about their children.

James defeated the Ancient One, so he became a master himself so he doesn't need to learn Magic with the Ancient One. Now, however, James wants to learn more things... He decided to go to Asgard and learn Asgardian Magic! James tested his Phoenix powers: He can create a white flame that can consume everything, he can teleport to wherever he wants, he can control energies better than before, and he can transmute things like turn wood into gold.

Ophiuchus powers were very powerful too, James can turn into black smoke and invade someone's body, possessing the target, James can hypnotize everyone that looks at his eyes for more than 1 second, James can transform his body into a snake and he can create a black smoke bomb that necrotizes every living creature that touches it. James tried to fuse the white flame and the black smoke, but it didn't end up well. James is now in New York inside the Sanctum training his powers.

It seems that the Phoenix can delete things and Ophiuchus consumes them and transforms into energy... Phoniex can delete impurities and Ophiuchus can consume the impurities and transform it into energy... James trained until he could control the amount of destruction and consuming he could do, it was very hard. After a week of training his powers, James decided to go to Asgard. He went to the Ancient One's room and asked her if she could open a portal for him to Asgard. And she did it, she had to use a fixed portal that was a little old and needed a lot of energy to be open. But the Ancient One opened it alone...

James arrived at Asgard and was received by Frigga, Odin's wife who was wearing a light green robe with a ring in her right hand. She smiled and said: "So you must be James, the Ancient One told me that her apprentice would come and learn Asgardian Magic... I hope you won't give up so easily, Asgardian Magic is really hard to learn." James nodded his head and followed Frigga. He now noticed that the portal was opened in the backyard of the castle... James arrived then at a library, with a lot of books and several bookshelves.

He saw some interesting books: [Introduction to Dwarf History], [Light and Dark Elves a History of War], [Nine Realms and it's Mysteries III], [A guide to Divinity] and others... Frigga sat down on a chair and snapped her finger, a book appeared in her hand and she started to explain: "This is the first book you need to read, it is an introduction to magic and its concepts. Asgardian Magic is different from Midgardians→[Author isn't sure] Magic, it's more complex and pure... Here, take it." She gave the book to James who looked at the cover: [A Introduction to Asgardian Magic I] and opened it, it was written in Asgardian... James helplessly looked at Frigga who laughed and said: "Well, we have where to start."

James nodded and Frigga grabbed a piece of paper and started to write on it some simple letters in Asgardian and teaching James how to read and write. 

[Time Skip: 3 Months. 21 Days. 01/01/1993] 

James spent 3 months learning how to write and read in Asgardian because his body is superior, his brain needs to be too! So, James learned how to write and read in Asgardian at an advanced level that would take years in just 3 months. In those 21 days, James started to learn All-Language, he discovered that All-Language is a special passive Asgardian Magic that increases the speed that your brain processes other languages, making you learn other languages almost instantly and if you don't learn the language, you will be able to understand what they say and they will understand what you say too.

James sighed, 3 Months ago he discovered that both Loki and Thor were fighting in a war and they would return later. James was in the library reading a green cover book, another James was sitting beside the other James reading another book, but this one had a purple cover. James' Pisces ability is very useful, he used several of his clones to read a lot of books at the same time. Inside James' mind, the Phoenix and Ophiuchus sleep 80% of the time. They only wake up when he needs to fight or use their energies to use magic... Talking about Magic, James can use almost perfectly a lot of Asgardian Magics. Depending on the form James takes, the strength of the Magic that he uses is increased or decreased.

Water-based Magic is stronger in Aquarius form, like Fire-based magic with Leo form, Gravity & Space with Libra, Earth with Scorpio, Wind with Sagittarius, and etcetera. James received a lot of praise from Frigga when learning magic and All-Language. James is actually 8 years old, sometimes even he himself forgot about his own age. He met with Odin some times and other Gods. James was even compared with demigods and everyone wondered if he was a bastard son of any God there... James obviously denied, but they didn't believe. 

Today James is returning to Earth after learning All-Language, he already knows all the Asgardian Magic... He just doesn't have much control over it... One time he tried to use a transmutation spell and destroyed a part of the castle. James was sent to earth by the gay bridge, landing near the entrance of Sanctum. James was using Asgardian clothes, blue robes with some oriental side not too long so he could battle without problems. He started to walk around New York, he then saw a Baxter building and thought: 'So The Fantastic Four exists here, maybe I can do something about the Thing? He was an interesting guy.'

James wanted to create a company, so in the future, he could buy some shares of the Stark Company... But he remembered that he still 8 years old! With a heavy sigh, James thought about one thing... What if he controlled the mind of someone to create a company for him...? Or better! He could just control the mind of the owner of a successful company, making him/her adopt him and write on their will that he would be the owner of the company, and later kill them. But it needs to seem like it was an accident... Maybe he should do it.

Anyway, he still has a lot of time before 2008. When shit starts to happen.

James, a normal human died. He then chose to be reincarnated in the Marvel Multiverse! Let's see how he becomes the strongest existence...

PS: Before we start this, do note that this author's thoughts is my longest yet. There's a lot to explain and I tried to be concise, but it still ended up being this long. If you don't have time, I'm sure you could skip it, but there are a tonne of important points I wrote here. So yeah, read at your own discretion. Oh, and I'll be taking a break for one week. I'll resume posting on the 8th of July!

Did you enjoy the end of ACT TWO?! Yeap! The end of book 8 marks the end of Act II. Wow, how fast did time fly? I had begun writing Spirit Immortal over a year ago and I would have never imagined that we would have reached this stage. I'd always thought that I would drop the novel since I had other obligations and I would be lying if I didn't say I was tempted to for many parts of my short author life. But here we all are! One year since I first wrote my first word for Spirit Immortal. Round of applause for me!!! Hehe~

Before I get into the theme of Act II and whatever, there's something I want to ask all of you… HOW WAS THE CLIFFHANGER?! Hehe, were you shocked? Remember at the end of Book 7 I said something about the ending of Book 8 being something I planned long ago? Even before I came to write down Shin or Ariel? 

Yeah, so what I was referring to was the ULTIMATE CLIFFHANGER that I had planned. Latina's father is actually STAR FACE! The same Star Face that was Shin's first official kill!!! I wanted to write an arc where the main character, who had been broken down so many times throughout the story, finally picks himself up, becomes a monster with his skills, gets the girl and is almost 'invincible' in the story. Only to be destroyed by a little girl, who was weaker than paper, just by a simple sentence. Not an enemy stronger than himself, not by someone smarter than himself. The person that would cause Shin the most pain, would be a simple girl, who had no power, money, intelligence whatsoever. And all with one line.

I actually read the comments that people had speculated about Latina being Star Face's daughter which honestly shocked me. I didn't expect some of you guys to catch on that early on. I had even purposely written Latina's age to switch between twelve in the early book and thirteen in the later parts of the book to mess with your heads. Since Star Face disappeared four years ago when Latina was nine, she would be thirteen when Shin met her. Nonetheless, kudos to you smartlings for figuring it out. You deserve a cookie!

Rewind the clock a few years, back when I still read dozens of Wuxia novels a day from Wuxiaworld, Volarenovels and Gravitytales. No, you could even go further back to when I read exclusively Japanese web novels using Novelupdates. The days of Baka-Tsuki, Japtem and Yoraikun. Whenever I saw a protagonist kill off a random 'cannon fodder,' I had always kept this thought in the back of my mind:

'Hey, doesn't that guy/gal have a family? How could you just kill him off so easily like that?'

You see, humans are complex. Yes, there are evil people and many of them deserve death, but for the most part, not everyone should be killed off with a snap of someone else's finger. They had an entire backstory, maybe a wife or two, and most importantly, killing someone is quite a tall deed to ask from a normal human being. Of course, as I continued down the path of an author, I've learnt that no one cares about a random nobody's that only served to show how strong the protagonist is. So I tried to add my own form of cannon fodder in this book. Remember Winfred at the start of the book? His motivations were so paper thin that I nearly wanted to write him as a lustful pampered noble boy. However, Shin needed someone retarded to help show the audience, you guys, how much he had grown since the time skip. So I created him and killed him. At the snap of my fingers. 

But I really hated it. When I read Winfred back to myself, I thought to myself: 'Fuck, is there really someone that stupid to think with their crotch and go against two well-known geniuses? Could I add something more? Should I create a tragic backstory? Maybe he didn't want to **** Kanari really and was serving someone higher?' 

However, as many of you have read the comments in earlier chapters, people were telling me not to go in depth in writing side-characters or cannon fodder that no one would remember. Some have even accused me of using it to lengthen the novel. In certain aspects, writing more about the world surrounding Shin does help me with the word count, but that's not the main draw. I write more about the side characters, I write more about the world, to hopefully make the Spirit Immortal universe a more vibrant place. 

Take Gawil Jefferson, the Watkin Murderer in Book 2 for example. His purpose was to help an innocent ten-year-old Shin learn more about the world outside of Frie Mountain and to understand that the world isn't always black or white. Danroy, Suji and even Kanari to a certain extent in Book 5. They were there to help show that the universe around Shin doesn't revolve solely around him. Danroy, though privileged by any measure of the word, has been dealing with his own set of issues. Suji and Kanari were no exception. Kanari's arc begun as her being this perfect superhuman that everyone likes. However, as the world begins to thicken, you'll peek behind the curtains only to see a flawed human being, just like how every person in this world is.

And thus, it leads me to the theme of Act II. 

Growth.

Or to be more precise, how growth affects someone and what lengths would one go for growth?

Let me ask you this question. I just want you to pause whatever you're doing and think long and hard about this… Shin in chapter one and Shin now... Is he the same Shin? Of course, he isn't! Shin in chapter one is a lazy slob that doesn't even wake up in the mornings. He hates working out, he never takes initiative… Wow, he really sounds like the current me… Anyway, that's not the point!

When I wrote him that way, I'm sure many hated how lazy and weak he was. Shin always was the damsel in distress and he wasn't really 'likeable.' However, there's a reason why I wrote him that way. One word. Growth.

I got bored of reading reincarnated geniuses who were perfect from day one. I wanted to write a main character that was flawed, lazy and idiotic. However, over the books, Shin's power as well as his character, has grown tremendously. Of course, I had to add potential in him so that the readers, you guys, would be interested to see his future, so I added hints of his talents all throughout the early books.

In Book 1, Shin was first introduced. He was lazy with a little character. Sometimes he was whiny, sometimes he was stupid. Most importantly of all, he lacked imagination. Learning about his own ability, Shin could only think of making water spheres with it. No direction in life with no clue on how he was to progress.

In Book 2, Shin became a healer. His character back then was non-confrontational and he would never stand up for himself, needing Ariel or the Instructor to pick up in his stead. So his early relationships with Lady Seph were rather one-sided and a healer was the best route for him back then.

In Book 3, Shin continued on one the healing path and was brought to Aldrich's Keep. There, he failed to save his very first patient, Ronlen. That taught him that life was fragile and he learned to love his immediate family even more. 

In Book 4, this was where his character makes the most growth. Shin learns of Junius' disappearance and goes ballistic. After learning the value of life, he despised the Elders in the Frie Clan for ignoring Junius and cuts off contact, searching for Junius all by himself. Later in the book, he learns about the truth of the Frie and Awter Clan and his mind is sent in a disarray. Shin now hates the Frie Clan, but he doesn't know where to direct his hate to because of how detached he was to the Awter Clan. Then, of course, the dreaded Ariel's death. Shin became devastated by the death and it changed the course of his life, quite literally like nothing that happened before. 

In Book 5, Shin attended the academy while leaving behind Frie Mountain with two new objectives. Bringing Junius to justice, and becoming a Spirit Immortal. The now lazy Shin had turned into a hard-working monster that would bleed from all of his pores if it meant improving himself. And he also met the new characters that would help shape him in future arcs. 

In Book 6, Shin goes to the Land of Dreams in pursuit of Junius and killed his first person, Star Face. That placed him on a trajectory of no return. Now, to pursue his dreams and to grow, Shin was willing to claim another soul. 

In Book 7, Shin was brought to the Summit. There he learnt to be confident in himself and it could be seen where he stood up to the Spirit Saints and fought ardently in the battle with Lukman. 

Finally, in Book 8, I finally get to write the 'perfect Shin' that everyone has been asking for. His abilities have now matured and he would dominate almost anyone that dared to step in the ring with him. He's now nothing like the Book 1 Shin. Shin would kill if need be and has done so multiple times, shown when he killed Winfred, Craig and Susan without thinking about the blood being shed. Book 8 Shin would do everything 'perfectly.' He would fight for what he wants to protect and isn't stupid enough to fight Junius when he was outnumbered and outmatched. But then… Even though Shin was so overpowered, even though he was perfect… He couldn't escape his own mistakes.

Now that he learnt that he killed Latina's father, how would Shin continue to grow in the next book? Would he be discouraged to kill to grow anymore? He wanted to execute Junius with his own hands, but is that the case anymore? There are so many more points where Shin can grow and I'm not done developing this character. Heck, I'm not even done developing this world and it has been over 800,000 words! 

I said the theme of Act II is growth, and that's a partial lie. Growth has happened and will continue to happen throughout this entire novel. To keep it as short as I possibly could, I had skimmed through a lot of details so I hope that you'll interpret it for yourselves. Things like Kanari's love arc, Junius' yandere arc, the introduction of the Payirci… There are so many things that I would love to discuss but this post is really getting too long. It's already at the length of my average chapter!

Oh, but before I leave, I will give you the title of the next book, to add on to the ultimate cliffhanger that I made. The next book would be titled, 'The Celestial River.' So take that as you will.

King Lu listened quietly and remained silent for a long time. His eyes gleamed. When Eunuch Liao heard this, he sucked in a breath of cold air, and thought to himself, "I’ve never seen anyone so shameless and thick skinned in my entire life!"


And yet the plan was extremely simple. Many cities and towns had been told to scale down their military forces. Some of them were even thrown in jail right after they scaled down, for their military might was still too fearsome. Many of the generals were extremely fearful for their lives after the war had ended. At this point, these generals are scared to even stretch their hands out to slap a scarecrow. They hate the Emperor for being so restrictive, thus they will hate the Crown Prince as well.
  

Eunuch Liao wanted to speak further, but saw another eunuch by the door who gestured to him. He then stood up, "King Lu, I was too engrossed in the conversation topic, that I forgot about some matters. I came here to inform you that the preparations for the Lantern Festival have been completed. It’s time for you to go to the palace and visit the Emperor."

A pair of oxcarts cruised down the road. The oxcart that lead the way looked extremely elegant and expensive. The entire cart was lined with golden silk fabric and had intricate embroideries. The gold cloth glittered as it radiated light, while the oxcart behind followed closely.


At once glance, it was apparent that this was a rich family. Everyone around jumped out of its way and avoided it.


The first oxcart was built out of fine wood and even the floorboard was polished spotless. The windows were made of glass, silk draped around them, acting as curtains. Soft cushions lined the seats and it was rather spacious within. It even had a table, where an incense burner was placed upon it. At this point the incense burner was emitting sweet scented smoke.


The best part about this oxcart was what lay below the floorboards. Firewood was burned beneath, thus warmed the entire carriage. Wisps of steam rose up into the air. There were two people seated across the table. Indeed, it was Pei Zi Yun and the Canton Princess. From time to time, laughter would ring out from within. An old granny maid sat together with the oxcart driver, as the granny would cast occasional glances behind her.


"Please write me a poem!" The little Canton Princess begged endearingly. Even without waiting for him to refuse, she had already prepared ink, a quill, and paper to write on.


"Ai, writing poems is about the inspiration, which only comes occasionally. Now that you’re asking me to write one, it would be hard."


"Even if you can’t write a good poem, it’s fine, you just have to write something."


"Let me think." Pei Zi Yun nodded his head as he looked at the streets which were passing them by. There were a pair of men who watched as the oxcart drove on. He concentrated for several seconds, and didn’t even feel the cart pulling to a halt. He shut his eyes and started to write.


"The heavens speak through the winter snow, as thick clouds cover the entire city.


The sounds of horses fill the streets, as they gallop across the undulating terrains."
 

"Your poems are always so good." The little Canton Princess spoke as she carefully lifted the sheet of paper up and started to blow it dry. She then laughed, "Can I call you Brother Pei?"

"HA, the little Canton Princess is overly praising me." Pei Zi Yun said as he sighed.


The old granny whispered through the screen, "Young Master Pei, Little Miss, we’ve arrived at the pier."


"Come, let me take you to my boat." Pei Zi Yun said.


"Alright." The pair then disembarked happily from the oxcart. The little Canton Princess was exceptionally excited to see his boat.


A group of people alighted from the other oxcart, they felt the pain caused by the cold upon their skin and in their bones. There was a boat which had just docked. Several men disembarked from it. This was Pei Zi Yun’s boat.


This looked to be a very normal merchant boat, men arduously moved goods off of it. Since today was the Lantern Festival, there weren’t many people around and thus it wasn’t very crowded.


Ren Wei supervised these men, as he recorded the items which were transported off the boat.


When Ren Wei saw Pei Zi Yun, he stepped forward, "Young Master."


"Carry on with your work, I shall just show this this Little Princess around."


When Ren Wei heard this, he took a step back in shock and bowed. He was in full admiration of what Pei Zi Yun had managed to accomplish. He knew that the only reason sea trade was possible was because of the Grand Princess. Only with her support and permission were sea trade routes opened. It was thus rather unexpected that even the Grand Princess’s precious daughter was brought out by Pei Zi Yun.


At this moment, Ren Wei’s heart was indeed filled with deep admiration.


Pei Zi Yun was oblivious to what Ren Wei thought as he led the Canton Princess towards the boat, "Look, this is my new boat. It’s eight zhang long and three zhang wide. I spent about 7,000 taels of silver just on this."


"There are three stories. The first story is here on the deck. There’s a kitchen and a dining room. Right across from here is the tea room."


"The second floor is for guests. There are six rooms. We can also place our goods and merchandise on the lower decks."


They finally arrived at the study room, after touring the rest of the boat. The granny maid was following close behind. When the Canton Princess saw the number of books within the study room, she exclaimed, "Brother Pei, there are so many books here!"


As she said that, she picked up a book to browse.


The pair of them were deep in conversation when the Canton Princess reached the west most shelves as she asked in surprise, "You’re a fan of this book as well? I really enjoy it!"


"Wa, there are really countless books here. But I’ve never seen this one before. Pirates Annihilation Journal. Is this a comic book as well?"


"That’s Young Master Pei’s achievement in Ying Prefecture. Someone wrote a book about his harrowing details. I’ve read it before. It’s somewhat exaggerated, but the tales in this book aren’t fake!" Ren Wei said.


"Ah? It’s a book on Brother Pei’s deeds?" The Canton Princess asked in surprise. She then took the book off the shelf and started to flip through it. As soon as she read several sentences, she was so immersed that she turned quiet.
 

Seeing her this way, Pei Zi Yun sighed. Ren Wei then turned around and said, "Young Master, all the goods have already been transported to land."


As he finished speaking, he handed Pei Zi Yun some documents.


After he took a look at them, he gained a clearer understanding of the business conducted on his behalf by Ren Wei. Everything had been done well and was in order. From this voyage alone, he had earned 2,700 taels of silver.


Pei Zi Yun was rather satisfied with everything he had seen thus far. He took out 100 taels note and pushed it towards Ren Wei. "It’s been hard on you. You can take this boat back and rest while on the way. At the same time, you can take your examination. This is your reward."


Hearing this, Ren Wei was elated and didn’t refuse the money. "Many thanks, Young Master."


"If you pass the examination, you don’t have to return to my service. But in the event that you fail, there will be three boats docked in rotation by the capital city’s pier. You can make the necessary arrangements."


"Yes, Young Master." Ren Wei sounded rather happy, but as soon as business matters were discussed, he reverted to a tone of severity.
 

The Canton Princess didn’t speak much as she continued to flip through the book about the annihilation of the pirates. After the business matters concluded, the sound of firecrackers could be heard from outside as the night turned dark.


"Whew." The Canton Princess exhaled deeply as she closed the book.


"This book is very good to read and speaks of such heroic deeds." The Canton Princess held her face as she spoke, looking at Pei Zi Yun with a strange and complicated expression. Apart from being extremely good looking, Pei ZI Yun was gifted with exceptional literary talents, and now could even lead troops into battle.


All these traits fit the bill for her ideal partner.
 
 
"Canton Princess, the night market of the Lantern Festival has begun." The granny maid reminded her.


"Let’s go then. We can set off from this pier and make our way towards the city." Pei Zi Yun was rather satisfied as he read a note written by He Qing Qing.


The note indicated that the gold had already been properly hidden within Golden Island. All his instructions had been carried out without flaws. He had received this note with the arrival of another one of his boats.


The Pei Zi Yun and the Canton Princess started to walk along the streets together. The granny didn’t follow them, but Cheng Xiang tailed them from a distance away.


Today was the day of the Lantern Festival and the streets were filled with lively activities. There were colorful lanterns that hung all over the streets. People were walking back and forth, young men and young women, or even families roamed around in joyful exuberance.


Beside Pei Zi Yun, the Canton Princess felt rather shy. She recalled the Lantern Festival a few years ago, and realized that the atmosphere was similar. People were all over and fireworks filled the skies.


That particular year, Pei Zi Yun was given a hard time by her mother. Yet he managed to compose a poem within seven steps.


Since then, Pei Zi Yun’s exquisite talents had been imprinted deeply within her mind. After reading the journal accounts of him wiping out the pirates, she started to feel like, there was no other person in this world as talented as Pei Zi Yun was.


Thinking this way, the Canton Princes snuck a glance at Pei Zi Yun.


Pei Zi Yun seemed to be deep in thought as he turned his head and laughed, "I haven’t thought of a name for this boat. What do you think we should call it?"
 

"What about The Ending?" The Canton Princess thought about the poem which Pei Zi Yun had recited all those years ago, and recalled the particular phrase he had recited which included the words "The Ending". Pei Zi Yun laughed and replied, "Great. That’s a good name. That’s what it shall be named then."


As he spoke, he led the Canton Princess down the streets. The pair saw several stalls as they retired for the night. As they kept their wares, they replaced them with bright lanterns. As Pei Zi Yun and the Canton Princess continued to walk, they saw the skies filled with bright white and red lanterns that hung high above them. On these lanterns, there were several riddles.


A person who could guess the riddle or complete the couplets would be able to take down the lantern and keep it. The lanterns were placed on a pinwheel, which revolved. The winner can then pick a lantern of his choice.


Pei Zi Yun took a few more steps closer as the owner of the stall laughed, "As long as someone managed to guess correctly, he would be able to keep the lantern!"


Seeing that nobody else was paying them close attention, a low voice whispered, "Dao Master, I’ve already seen a great general, General Chen Hu approaching with a large army."


"Are you certain?"


"I’m certain. I recognize General Chen Hu. Although his army were dressed in plain clothes, there was easily a hundred men, and was very easy to tell."
 

Pei Zi Yun relaxed. As long as a single person showed up, his plan worked.

Facts you didn't know about this book also some details that I might have failed to disclose to the story.

1. This story was originally entitled BL.

 I was actually planning to compile short BL stories and this is the first story of that book. However, I didn't think that the short story in my mind would be so hard to write and it ended up getting longer and longer. That's why I just decided for it to be a single independent book.


2. There was no Wang Shu and Shao Wei.

Yeah, since this was supposed to be a short story. The original character doesn't include Shao Wei and Wang Shu. On my planner, they are written as Seme's friend 1 and Seme's friend 2. They're just side characters.


3. Xiao Yu was intended to be a love Rival of Feng Qiao at first.

At first, the scenario in my mind is that Zhao Lin and Xiao Yu are both popular in their university and students often pair them up together. She was even supposed to have hidden feelings for Zhao Lin! However, I often change my mind so she turned into a Fujoshi instead hahaha


4. Those bullies in middle school were not supposed to appear in the storyline.

They're all supposed to be just passive characters and I won't mention what happened in middle school anymore after the initial introduction of why is Feng Qiao's character like that. However, I didn't know why but I suddenly had the urge to make things dramatic in the story lmao. Now, I'm also missing those fluffy moments of Feng Qiao and Zhao Lin.


5. CBY University = Captivated By You

I didn't know if you guys noticed hahaha. So yeah, I suck at thinking of names so I just sticked with that.


6. There was no conflict in the original storyline.

I'm not a fan of conflicts, so originally planned this to be like a cute love story between two guys and will finish when they finally confessed their feelings to each other. Then, things happened and I didn't expect that many will read this book so I felt like I had to play my role as an author properly.

"Hmm. Finally, Professor Jien Wang's book has been published. It's thick."
Gun-Ho opened the book. On the other side of the cover page, Professor Jien Wang's profile was listed. It said that he obtained his Ph.D. from Yale University and taught at Yale. He is currently teaching at Zhejiang University in China. There was a brief profile about the translator who translated this book into Korean too. He was an instructor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies.
 
Gun-Ho turned the first page over. There, he could see the name of the publishing company and publisher, etc. The publishing company was GH Media, and the publisher was Jeong-Sook Shin; the chief editor was Jae-Sik Moon. The name of the design team's leader—Jeong-Sook Oh was shown there too. The price of the book was 15,000 won. Maybe given the thickness of the book, it was priced high.
"Let me see if there is any book review on this book in a newspaper."
Gun-Ho searched the Internet. The three major newspapers: Chosun, Joongang, and Donga Ilbo were making an issue of the book. Even a small newspaper in a province was talking about the book. Maybe because the author was a college professor in China, who used to teach at Yale University. Moreover, the economy prospect in China for the 21st century as the book title indicated is closely related to people in Korea.
"I hope it sells very well."
Gun-Ho opened the book while saying that. There were many charts and diagrams, it certainly looked not a fun book, unlike a novel.
 
Gun-Ho asked for the general affairs manager.
"How many workers do we have, who is above team leader?"
"We have 62, sir."
"Then, please buy this book, 62 of them from online and hand it to all of them."
"It's Economy Trend in China for the 21st Century."
"Tell them to read it and make a book report. The one who submits the best book report will be awarded."
"Yes, sir."
The general affairs manager made a note about the name and the publisher of the book while standing in front of Gun-Ho."
"GH Media? It's one of our companies?"
The general affairs manager seemed to be delighted.
 
Gun-Ho went on a business trip to China. He was carrying the book that Professor Wang authored. He was carrying several Korean versions of the book. Once a book was published, the publisher usually sent the book to the author by mail. Gun-Ho wanted to bring it to Professor Wang himself.
Once he arrived in China, he didn't go to Suzhou City where Min-Hyeok was, but he went to Hangzhou Jien Wang was living in.
Gun-Ho was thinking of calling Jien Wang and asking him to come to the hotel where he was staying, but he decided to visit him to his workplace instead, which was his research office at Zhejiang University.
"Professor Wang? It's me, Gun-Ho Goo. I just arrived in China and I am on my way to your research office."
"What? You are coming to my office? I am in the office by myself and writing a paper. I will be here waiting for you."
 
When Gun-Ho and Jien Wang met, they hugged each other.
"It has been a while."
"Guess what? I brought you the book you wrote. It's a Korean version that has just been published in Korea. The publishing company will send it to you soon by mail, but I wanted to give it to you myself. I brought two of them."
"You could just send them by mail. It is kind of heavy to carry."
Jien Wang looked delighted, he was smiling.
"The Korean language is so beautiful. It is a phonetic language. I am envious of it."
"The Chinese language contains profound meaning."
"The Chinese characters are not easy to use on the Internet, and it is hard to write a foreign language in Chinese. If we want to write a foreign name such as Obama or Trump, we have to make it with Chinese characters. That's difficult."
"We have 24 letters in the Korean language."
"Exactly. I am so jealous. It's so easy to learn. You know what? There are three things that Chinese people will never know in their entire lives."
"What are they?"
"First, since the land of China is so big that they won't be able to visit them all before they die."

Professor Jien Wang took Gun-Ho to a shabby bar at Hubin Lu.
"I come to this bar sometimes after work. I enjoy drinking by myself. My favorite menu here is a bottle of Shaoxing wine with a seasoned eggplant."
"This seasoned eggplant and water parsley taste similar to a Korean dish. I like them."
Gun-Ho ate a lot because he really liked those seasoned vegetables. They sautéed the vegetables with a little bit of oil, and they were really good. A pork dish came out.
"This pork dish is a special order for you, my friend. You eat pork, right?"
"Sure. It's good."
The port was sautéed with sliced onions.
 
Gun-Ho thought that the bar was a type of bars where a professor with not much money would come just like Jien Wang.
"I once wrote something while I was drinking at this bar. I sent it to a newspaper. The title is 'thinking of my friend.'"
Jien Wang took out a newspaper from his bag, it looked a bit dated. Jien Wang's writing was in the newspaper.
Gun-Ho started reading it. In the writing, Jien Wang talked about his Korean friend—Gun-Ho as well. It talked about how he met Gun-Ho for the first time, and how Gun-Ho was developed into a successful businessman. He also talked about how kind Gun-Ho was to him when he attended a conference in Korea along with Korean people's sense of public order and cleanliness.
"Thank you, my friend. You talked good about me."
"I really meant it."
Gun-Ho truly appreciated it.
"Let's keep our friendship forever."
"Sure. We will be friends until we die."
Gun-Ho was feeling good and enjoyed his drink with Jien Wang that night.
 
Gun-Ho headed to Suzhou City to see Min-Hyeok. Min-Hyeok seemed to gain some weight.
"You gained some weight. Maybe because Chinese food here is a bit oily."
"I think that's because I ate too many dish when I drink with customers as part of my sales activities. My fiancée already nagged me."
"What did she say?"
"She said I need to lose weight. She even gave me some kind of pills that would help me lose weight."
Min-Hyeok showed a bottle of pills to Gun-Ho, which said Jianfei.
 
The factory in China was doing great, it was vibrant. Min-Hyeok gave a brief report to Gun-Ho on the company's current loss and profit status. Gun-Ho could see how hard Min-Hyeok had been working because of the stock option.
"You have been working so hard."
"Yeah. I actually need some extra money, so I worked as much as I could. I am expecting to get some extra income from the stock option at the end of this year."
"Is it because of your wedding?"
"I will have to find a place to live with my fiancée. The rent is too high, so I am thinking to buy a home in Suzhou City. I will live with my wife right after we marry next spring."
"Do you think you would get a good dividend this year?"
"If things go well as expected, the ordinary income will be 2 billion Korean Won. My stock option is 5% of it, so I will receive an extra 100 million won. There is a condo complex in Suzhou City and it is called Cui Yuan Huayuan. It is close to our factory. I think I can buy a 25 pyung condo there with a loan. It costs 150 million won."
"The price of the condo will increase in the future?"
"I think so."
"Did your fiancée see that condo already?"

Gun-Ho thought Min-Hyeok was doing really good with his life.

This is the story of a poor young man whose poverty even shreds apart their family willing to climb his way through society and into the top. A very realistic novel that moves away from fantasy and sci-fi and focuses solely on the issues of society and life.

Staying in one place and not doing anything is kind of boring, while everybody is fighting, showing there might and evolving their skills, Skylar is in the center of the village doing nothing. 


He is bored and is searching for a way to entertain himself, he didn't know what to do at this point, the boys will soon come back so training is out of the question. 


After thinking for a little bit, he decided to write a book. A book is important because it helps us to gather knowledge and improves ourselves or it can be passed to the future generation and help them increase their knowledge. 

But the real question is, what Kind of book will Skylar right? He is seriously thinking about it and many ideas are popping up in his head. 

For example, he can write a storybook using the stories known on Earth. Some of them are really entertaining and can help me amass a fortune. Or I can write a Martial arts book showing skills and explaining how to train them. 

The second option didn't seem like it would help him though because if he wrote about the techniques he uses his enemies will search for ways to counter it. That is if he decides to publish it, he can also write Skill books and give to people as rewards for achieving something. 

Of course, before giving the book to anyone we will do a background check to see if the said person can be trusted. 

As for Storybooks, Skylar can just write a good story from Earth and publish it. He can gain money from it and finally start his projects. 

' It doesn't seem like the first is of use too ' Skylar thought! And he's right if it is money that he wants he can just steal it from another pirate crew or from the marines. No need to waste his time to write stories. 

But the Skill book idea is feasible, it will also help by making members work harder to merit the books and maybe increase the loyalty of the members. 

As he was thinking about what to do with his new idea Shin and Barry arrived

" Yo Sky, I brought their captain with me " Shin said putting down the marine captain in front of Skylar 

" I have returned, my lord " exclaimed Barry kneeling down on the floor 

" you can get up, so why aren't you with your teammates " Skylar asked 

" They kicked me out saying that i'm too weak to be with them " said Barry getting up

 " So they did that, if i remember correctly you were part of the group number 8 " Barry nodded 

" yes, my lord " 

" Alright, Shin send some golem and eliminate  them. We don't need those kind of trashes here " Skylar said 

" I already did it " Shin said sitting down in the chair next to Skylar 

" Oh! and Sky, he is my secretary " 

" uhmm... not bad he's young and has pontential, that's a good choice " Skylar said looking at Barry 

" Thank you, my lord. I'll work hard tobeof use " thanked Barry 

" That's good to hear but let me ask you one question. Did you ever worked in palace as butler? "

After sometime everygroup started to come one by one, soon every person still alive came back. Their numbers decreased but not too much, right now out of the hundred only 68 pirates were here. 

Skylar, Shin and Barry introduced themselves and Shin told the rest to do the same thing. But the group didn't seem to agree to the fact that a 'weakling' like Barry became the secretary of General Shin. But they hesitated to say it loudly until a brave one stated his thoughts. 


" King Skylar, why would little Barry be General Shin's secretary, he is clearly the weakest member of the crew "looking at him one can clearly see that he is satisfied with what he just did but he quickly regretted, no he didn't even have time to regret it when his head rolled on the ground. 


A portal just suddenly appeared next to him and a sword came out of it and chopped his head. Skylar did it, he didn't want to do this at first but after seeing the guy's expression he got annoyed. 'why did you have to show me your smug face' skylar thought 


Seeing that the man who spoke was cut down everybody stated to feel real fear. 

" if you got something to say, you can say it. But, never show me a smug face or you'll end up like this guy. When i see someone make a smug face it bring back bad memories " Skylar said, everybody nodded their heads not daring to speak nor move. 


The killing intent coming out of him was that terrifying, with killing intent as strong as this one the people feared that even if they were to move one centimeters they would be cut down. 


Shin was also surprised, he had never heard of the dark side in Skylar's past, it was jis first time. After he would make sure to ask him.

" If you have a problem with my decision bring your best fighter to compete with Barry in a life or death battle " Skylar said 

"Paul come foward " Shin yelled, knowing that this would actually happen when he heard of Barry's reputation so he asked him questions along the way.


Paul came forward with disturbed look on his face, he witnessed Barry fighting prowess and he really didn't wanna die. 'Why would that bastard speak up without knowing anything' he thought, he advanced forward, bowed and said

"My lord i do think that you made a good choice so Barry and I do not need to fight each other"

" Just fight " said Skylar 

"But my lord i do not disagree with the..." 

"Just fight" repeated Skylar

"But..." 

"Just fight" Knowing that he couldn't change the lords mind he turned to General Shin and Shin was looking at him. 


Just by seeing him he knew that he couldn't change the bosses minds he turned to Barry but the latter was looking at him as if he was jis prey. 


Unable to do anything he decided to fight, fortunately he didn't die because Shin stopped the fight and asked if there is someone else who wants to challenge Barry. Nobody spoke, they were all surprised and felt dumb for trying to corner a powerful being like Barry. 


Finishing with that Shin handed the rank 2 soldier badges to each of them and headed towards their Ship. 

 
Arriving, they see a big Ship that could accommodate at least one thousand people. It was just that big. 


The first thing they did was to change the Jolly roger into a Skull with the New in the left eye and T on the right one. They wete satisfied and after dome preparations they finaly set out to right their new story.

Thank you so so so much for reading my first English novel. I've been writing since I was 12, like decades ago (yeah... I'm old) and never got anything published since I was a perfectionist and my works needed research and I didn't have the means to do it back then.
I mean, how could you write about life in other countries when you never go there? I felt like a fake - that's why the only people I allowed reading my novels were my sister and a few friends whom I know would still love me no matter how weird I am in their eyes... hehehe.
Before you #coughcough Google... Well, Google and the internet weren't a thing back then (when I started writing), I didn't even have a computer. I wrote in any piece of paper I could get my hands into.
Sadly, out of maybe 100 titles I wrote for almost 20 years, 95% are gone now because my mom thought they were trash (literally) and threw them together with my old school books. It was heartbreaking because I really wanted to be a writer.
When I was young, the future seemed bleak for this poor aspiring writer from a third-world country, especially because I wrote fantasy which didn't sell well compared to contemporary. Anyway... my dream to become a writer had to take a backseat as life happened and I had to focus on making ends meet.
I have a decent job now, working as a freelancer, but I still dream to make it as a professional writer someday. I want to be able to wake up every morning and just decide that I want to write and write, and not having to think about how to put food on the table.
