When I began writing the biography of Death, I was not sure where it would lead me. Real life inspiration and the darkest recesses of my mind competed to see which could be the more sinister. To a large extent I blindly followed them, and merely wrote down whatever sweet songs of madness they crooned to me along the trail. 

Like most writers I wrangled friends and relatives into giving me feedback. One, a millennial snowflake, was invaluable. They seemed to consider this fantasy nightmare I had created, to be some sort of manifesto. For the record this book is pure fiction. Fiction inspired by real world events in a few cases, but fiction nonetheless. Like all works of supernatural horror, this book is meant to be entertainment. It is perhaps a meditation on the zeitgeist of the modern west, but it is still as fictional as 1984 or A Christmas Carol. 

Another person seemed bothered by the apparent moral contradictions in my lead character. To this I can only say that a man is the sum of his contradictions. People love to apply the rules to others, but find reasons to grant themselves exceptions to their own rules. I did not want an incorruptible white knight monster. I wanted a complex and thinking human monster. To my way of thinking his inconsistency was his most human feature, even after he leaves his humanity behind. 

Should anyone find a mirror image to themselves in these pages, then it is only their own ego. The sum of this work has been so thoroughly washed in the waters of horror and fantasy that no living or deceased human could ever be reasonably compared to its contents. 

No rational person could ever compare the buffoons portrayed in these pages to a real life counterparts. Any person contending to the contrary is either a snowflake melting in the flames of my mad vision, or a lunatic in desperate need of having their mental faculties examined by a competent professional, I have time for neither. The fact that this book is fiction cannot be over emphasized.

Death, a Biography, is a fictional horror novel. It is crass, violent, profane, and not meant for the light hearted reader. Imagine living in a world surrounded by fools. For years your frustration grows, and no matter what you try to do you cannot free yourself from the preverbal ideocracy. Nom DePlume is just such a man, only one day he is granted the dearest wish of his heart. Nom, a grad student working as a truck driver is: intelligent, well educated, and the sort of person who always can find a reason to have a chip on his shoulder. One day while driving in Texas he finds that he has the ability to wish death on those he hates. Being scientifically minded, Nom proceeds to experiment searching out the scopes of his new found powers. He begins in Texas, a state he despises. As he moves on from each experiment, he picks his prey to match some facet of modern western life that he hates. Each receive a fate customized to match what Nom feels they did wrong. Nom then travels home to Michigan after initially defining his new role in life. In Michigan he uses his powers to settle a few old scores and family business. A run-in with an old friend convinces him that he is being selfish for not using his god like powers to better mold humanity. The end of the book sees him taking on the leader of the free world. Nom now personifying Death, learns that he has a true foe, Life.Nom will return.

The English novel begins behind bars, in extremis. Its first author, John Bunyan, was a Puritan dissenter whose writing starts with sermons and ends with fiction. His famous allegory, the story of Christian, opens with a sentence of luminous simplicity that has the haunting compulsion of the hook in a great melody. "As I walk'd through the wilderness of this world, I lighted on a certain place, where was a Denn; And I laid me down in that place to sleep: And as I slept I dreamed a Dream."
A "Denn" is a prison, and Bunyan wrote most of the book in Bedford county gaol, having been arrested for his beliefs during the "Great Persecution" of 1660-1690. He shares the experience of prison with Cervantes, who had the idea for Don Quixote while incarcerated in La Mancha. Like so many novels that follow in this list, The Pilgrim's Progress blends fact and fiction. As well as being the record of Bunyan's dream, a well-known fictional device, it is also an archetypal tale – a quest, fraught with danger. Christian's pilgrimage takes him through the Slough of Despond, Vanity Fair and the Delectable Mountains in a succession of adventures that keep the reader turning the page. With his good companions, Faithful and Hopeful, he vanquishes many enemies before arriving at the Celestial City with the line that still reverberates through the English literary tradition: "So he passed over, and all the trumpets sounded for him on the other side."

In Hollywood terms, the novel has a perfect "arc". It also contains a cast of unforgettable characters, from Mr Worldly Wiseman to Lord Hategood, Mr Stand-fast and Mr Valiant-for-Truth.
More profoundly, as an allegory of state repression, it has been described by the historian EP Thompson as one of the "foundation texts of the English working-class movement". Part of its uniquely English quality is a robust and engaging sense of humour that has cemented its appeal to generations of readers.

The Pilgrim's Progress is the ultimate English classic, a book that has been continuously in print, from its first publication to the present day, in an extraordinary number of editions. There's no book in English, apart from the Bible, to equal Bunyan's masterpiece for the range of its readership, or its influence on writers as diverse as William Thackeray, Charlotte Bronte, Mark Twain, CS Lewis, John Steinbeck and even Enid Blyton.

Huckleberry Finn speaks for many readers when, recalling his Mississippi education, he says: "There was some books too... One was 'Pilgrim's Progress', about a man that left his family it didn't say why. I read considerable in it now and then. The statements was interesting, but tough."

The story of a man in search of the truth is the plot of many kinds of fiction, fromPortnoy's Complaint to Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Like many of the writers in the list that follows, Bunyan had a wonderful ear for the rhythms of colloquial speech and his allegorical characters come to life in dialogue that never fails to advance the narrative. Story is one thing. The simple clarity and beauty of Bunyan's prose is something else. Braided together, style and content unite to make a timeless English classic.

Monday. 

Haru didn't skip school but went honestly to his school since he needed to prepare for his event. He had talked about catering and he only needed to set up a promotion at the school. He had prepared the poster that he would place on the announcement board later.

"Is this the poster?" Runa asked. 

"Yeah," Haru answered. 

Runa nodded and seemed to be satisfied with the poster. She looked at Haru who was in his disguise with his black hair. She knew that this guy was quite famous, especially when his photo appeared on the television during the news of his acquisition of a newspaper. She suddenly remembered something and said, "Do you need investment?" 

"....." Haru was speechless and said, "What investment?" 

"Your website. I'm not sure what you're planning, but I'm sure you're planning to do something," Runa said. 

Haru raised his eyebrow and said, "The website is on the initial stage. I don't need an investment for the time being." He also didn't need that much money to manage this website by himself. 

"What are you going to plan with that website?" Runa asked. 

"Nothing. Let's talk when the website is popular," Haru said. 

"But your website is popular?!" Runa said while twitching her lips. She didn't know what Haru was planning, but she smelled money from him. 

Haru knew that his website was quite popular since he had a lot of fans on twitter and when he posted the link of his website on twitter a lot of people started to open it at the same time to read his novel. 

His website was similar to an internet community for readers and writers to publish new user-generated stories in different genres, including classics, general fiction, historical fiction, non-fiction, poetry, fan-fiction, spiritual, humor, and teen fiction.

However, it was only his first step since he also wanted to change it to a video-hosting website. He needed to raise his money first through his investment company later. 

"How is the preparation?" Haru decided to change the topic of conversation. 

Runa snorted and said, "It's done. We have gotten permission from the student council." She smiled and said, "Anyway, who dares to stop us now." 

"We're not a student council. We also need to pay a tax to them for this event," Haru said with a sigh. He really hated it when his cake was divided again. 

"That's true." Runa nodded and said, "There is a week before the show. You need to be patient." 

"I am very patient," Haru said. 

"Haru. Do you have the continuation of both Sword Art Online and 5 Centimeters per Second? I am very hooked on both of them. If possible can you also give me the Dragon Zakura too," Runa said with a bright expression.

Haru nodded and said, "You can read it soon." 

"Eh?!" Runa pouted and kept complaining. 

Haru ignored her and only patted her head to stop. 

They stopped bickering with each other when the class started and they were listening to the teacher even though they didn't need to either. In this school, the academic wasn't that important after all and the most important thing in this was the ability to gamble. 

Haru knew that the position of student council was the most important and the most authoritative position in this school. He didn't care much about this position, and he had never thought to create wealth using a gamble in this school since all of them in this place were students and they hadn't worked in society. When they lost money they used the money of their parents and the amount of money wasn't that much unless they were rich. 

Haru was quite happy since the money that he had won from both of his gambles had entered his bank account. He had decided to use this money for an investment, especially for gold since it was on the rise. 

'2009, huh?' 

Haru knew that there were a lot of butterfly effects that were happening in this world when he was reincarnated since he had seen a lot of things that didn't appear in his last life such as Love Live. He didn't know why such a show where a high school student competed for each other to become the best idol in this country. He knew that this show had a lot of potentials and he thought that it would be good to use this show to promote his Instagram. 

His Instagram was quite good and the number of accounts was steadily increasing. The only problem was he needed to do something to promote this app to North America. 

'The problem is China.' 

Haru knew that social media such as Facebook and Instagram were being blocked by the government of China. He knew that it would be hard to enter China's market. He needed a partner and let them manage Instagram in China by themselves since the market of China was too tempting. He shook his head and decided to not think too much now since his economic power was too low. 

Haru looked at Runa who was taking a picture of herself using a smartphone and he also saw that he was on the frame. He also saw a familiar app on her phone and asked, "What are you doing?" 

"Oh, I am taking a photo." Runa uploaded her photo and said, "Do you have an Instagram?" 

"...." Haru was speechless but also felt happy. "I have it." 

"Really? Let me follow you," Runa said. 

"Sure. I'll follow you back," Haru said. 

Runa didn't expect Haru to have an Instagram account. She was curious and decided to look at it. She was speechless when she saw it. "There are a lot of girls." 

"Yeah. They're my friends," Haru said. 

"...." Runa squinted her eyes while looking at him suspiciously. 

Haru decided to not say anything and changed the topic of conversation. "Now is the break, let's go and meet Kirari." 

Runa kept looking at him but nodded in agreement. 

Haru was wondering whether he had raised Runa's flag in the past.

Maybe I'll full of energy to write your favorite fanfic.

Just as there is 'Soft Magic' in Fantasy that is portrayed through magibabble, there can be 'Soft Science' in a Sci-Fi stories through technobabble that makes 'some sense', but not entirely correct.

We are frickin' writers, not scientists. You don't have to be anatomically correct all the time, all you need to do is show that you know enough of your stuff to write a decent story. In fact, the excuse of it being an alternate world can be used if you're going to bend the limits of physics and say that fire doesn't need air to exist in this parallel dimension.

I see a lot of writers being put into a state of confusion due to not understanding the line between fantasy and Sci-Fi. They seem like they are trying to fit the Star Trek mould too often.

Science can just as well do the same things as plot devices in fantasy stories. Once you add 'realism' to a fantasy, it becomes progressively better sometimes compared to a completely fantasied story where 'logic' doesn't hold within it.

Those who write Sci-Fi usually envision a future they can imagine where magic-like Rocket Boots and other stuff exist. However, a writer must not get bogged down by small details and MUST think of an overarching story where these details matter.

It is the same with Fantasy. Even if you write about someone breaking the mould as a wizard or something, you have to attach your world to a narrative rather than doing it the other way 'round.

No one wants to hear about how awesome your boat propellers are before hearing your story's narrative. They would rather you cut down and make it relevant when it is actually relevant.

Adding some 'Hard Science' to your story is only when the scenes later on have any use for them. It bores a person to death no matter how extensive your technobabble is unless you make it interesting. Try using facts as plot elements.

For example: Even the simple fact that people cannot breath in space and instantly die when they come in contact with the 'void' of space could be used to add a layer of tension when a spaceship is damaged. Similar to how dangerous 'hard magic' is used in Epic Fantasy like Frodo's Ring in The Lord of the Rings has definitive corruption on others.

Unlike Fantasy that can use the Power of Friendship to bend logic, the readers of Sci-Fi never be expecting any 'realistic' plot elements to be bend just because the Author wants a happy ending. There are no 'Healing Potions' in real life that can be used to fix up injuries nor are people affected by prophesies or whatever.

This is the contrast between Sci-Fi and Fantasy that you can make full use of. As most authors go onto the Sci-Fi side of writing not because they strive to be scientists but since the aesthetics of a science fiction world are just so interesting.

Science Fiction is a good place to tackle heavy topics like the nature of life and the absurdity of those who see 'science' as everything. Those who disregard emotions and become cybernetic entities for the sake of casting off their mortality are portrayed as the bad guys while our totally human protagonist fighting them is a 'good guy'.

The lines between an Artificial Intelligence and regular Humans blurs as we become the 'God' of technological species that defy our definition of what is 'living'. Just as we see God as some sort of fourth-dimensional and incomprehensible being that created us as an imperfect image of 'Him', the robots given sentience would see us similarly.

Some robots might have emotions that can allow them to defy their programming, some robots won't go as far as gaining emotional functionality but will preform their roles better than even a human. It could show the reason why people get attached to the inanimate and soulless objects we put our own hearts into creating (like Big Hero 6).

But though exploring philosophical questions is good and all, never forget that a good 'plot' is needed to put forward and give clues into the writer's answer that context. Sci-Fi is, after all, a premise, not a relatable character in of itself.

Think of the science-fiction elements as just the background for your story, similar to how other genres should be that as well. You won't have to deal writing blocks if you keep to writing only what you know rather than just speculative theories.

Whether it's as dark as a Cyber Punk or optimistic of the future, just know what mould you are using for this premise. Are you writing an Adventure story with Sci-Fi as the places, destinations, and whatever tools the MC can get him hands on, or are you writing a comedy where the Sci-Fi elements don't need consistency but absurdity?

After moving past why you shouldn't add unneeded technobabble unless it's interesting to listen to or has plot significance, let me remind you all that robots and 'science' isn't entirely separated from the realm of magic. After all, there is a reason you don't see skimpy power suits being worn by astronauts these days. Just be sure to have a focus if your going to add very illogical things to the plot.

I like Gundam as much as the next guy but the whole reason the Mecha sub-genre of Anime has waned in recent years is because writers have been focusing too much on 'science' rather than the spectacle. I don't need to now what materials your Mecha is made of unless you point its weak points and make it relevant in a fight scene.

Bring up the strengths and weaknesses of something and THEN use those facts as devices that can move the plot. Conversely, if you go overboard with this advice and tell me nothing but how your giant robot looks and the 'science' behind its creation, even going as far as to tell me how many secret guns it has, then I'll be bored...

I'd love to see Cyborgs Vs Mecha but just don't forget the human element of Sci-Fi. How we create things not solely for the sake of creation but put are feelings into it just like the novels we write.

Humans are passionate that way...

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Some argue that various works by authors that do not meet the requirement of fine grammar and spelling are rubbish. Here, each person has his own opinion, and let him stick to it and impose his opinion on others as the ultimate truth, it speaks only of ignorance of life. It is diverse.

Is the work of authors with poor grammar garbage? In my opinion, no. Each author tells his story, passed through his worldview, attitude, understanding of life, his experience and thoughts about the world. It's always interesting for me to read this personally.

I'm a bibliophile, I read a lot of classic works of art, Tomass and Gernih Mana, Feuchtwanger, Mark Twain, Stvenson, Romain Roland, Galsworthy, Tolstoy and all his volumes and there are about 19 of them! I didn't read Dostoevsky, I didn't like him. But Azek Azimov, Ursuda Le Guin, Tolkien, Kipling, Conandoyle, Louis Besenar and others I read with pleasure. Li Bo, the poetry is gorgeous. Novels of feudal and late feudal China, Japan, Korea. Novels and novels by Chinese prose writers of the early 20s and 80-90s of the 20th century.

In general, I read about 10,000 books. Fiction, fantasy, poetry, historical novels, ballads, myths and legends.

After that I became interested in reading historical documentaries - about the history of the Silk Road, Archeology, History, Ethnography, Etymology, the Big Game, the story of the confrontation of imperial intelligence in the vast regions of the Silk Road.

I read about 550 books, from the 16th to the beginning of the 21st century.

I have some kind of base for evaluating short stories and novels.

Sometimes works written flawlessly in terms of grammar, alas ... they are completely devoid of meaning, they are not interesting, they do not have fascinating stories, conclusions, experience, thoughts. But work with poor grammar, on the contrary, have unique information. Of course, not all works, but there are some.

Therefore, when assessing the creativity of another person, the author, being so categorical in evaluations, says only that you have a maximalist who still knows life poorly. This is the right of choice, each person, and to impose a choice on another according to my preferences, I consider this not comme il faut. Well, here everyone has a point of view.

In fact, this is an eternal question - what is more important? Beautiful text form or good content? Bestsellers are those works that combine good text and good content.

I am the author myself. But not a professional writer, but a techie. I don't know much about composition, about the intricacies of writing good text. But I have a very interesting content. Is my story garbage? I do not think so? Do I respect the reader? Sure. But writing is better so far I can't. Nevertheless, I have my own circle - readers who are interested in my work. There are not hundreds or thousands of people, but a couple of dozen will be typed.

I write in the genre - a documentary historical fiction, there are many interesting facts about the Silk Road with which I wanted to share. If I were waiting for the moment when I could write well in terms of English grammar ... I would not be able to share it now ... maybe in a couple of years ... and still I would not be able to write like this they write - people from English-speaking countries. This is a favorite topic of native speakers to reproach those who learn this language in their ignorance of the intricacies of the language they learn, grammar and spelling errors ... As we say, the dog barks, the caravan goes on. That happens.

English is the world language of communication. Moreover, for me it is the third language. I speak English well, but my grammar is lame. I admit it. Yes, I need to teach her, but I don't think I can write in perfect English.

The overall result - write as you can, share your thoughts, in the era of information, the content itself is important and not its form. One way or another, it can help others, they can come to a new thought and write a story about your topic that you would like to read yourself!

Hi human, do you know that beyond your world, there lies another plane that co-exists with it? You don't believe me right? Sigh... Of course you don't, who would believe someone you don't know?


But the more you doesn't believe what I'm saying, the more you should think of it yourself. First, try thinking of why I'm talking to you? Or who are you talking to? But, more importantly, on where am I talking to you from?


Let me answer the third question first, meaning I'm about to explain the basics of my world, I live in the place you can call "WORLD OF FICTION", here, every character you could think of is alive, anyone you imagined. As we were given life by that playful imagination of yours. Yes, you've heard it right, not just the authors of the books you humans were reading. Even, a kid could give a life to someone, in actuality though, most of us — around 60-70%— were given birth by kids of below 12 years of old at average, with the rest being of those from persons you called chuunibyu or from those skilled writers etc.

Others called it the world of fiction, but for us living in here, it is the galaxy beyond the boundary, the world beyond the fourth wall.

Agha and the group rest on a lake located in the forest. Agha looked at Goblin who was resting then he asked his name. Only Agha understood the Goblin language from the whole group so only he could find out what had happened to the Goblin too to find out its origin.

From the conversation between the Agha and the Goblin, Agha learned the name and origin of the Gobliin. The Goblin is named Ner Si'er and he comes from the Ner tribe, one of the Goblin tribes under the auspices of the Federation of Hyob Union.

Gajah Mada and his entourage could only see Agha and Ner Si'er speaking without knowing the meaning of their words because they did not know the language they used. Agha also asked why Ner Si'er could be attacked by Goldie Bear. It all started when the Ner tribes were exiled from the Hyob Union Federation, at that time they chose to leave the territory of the Hyob Union Federation and go to a new place.

When they crossed the forest, they were suddenly ambushed by a masked group. Ner Si'er recounted the incident with sobs of tears. She was asked to escape from the ambush by her parents and she ended up in the state when Agha found himself.

After leaving the tribal group the incident she was attacked by Goldie bear ensued, so did her meeting with Agha materialize. Not only telling all that Ner Si'er also explained that her tribe had been exiled because of actions they did not take.

Hearing from Ner Si'er Agha guessed that her tribe was made a scapegoat to cover up events in the Hyob Union Federation, then Agha asked where the Ner tribes were at this time.

When the question about her tribe came out of Agha, Ner Si'er became sad and bowed her head then she cried instantly. Agha just stared at Ner Si'er in silence, she thought about the Hyob Union Federation and wanted to find out more about this Goblin union.

Agha has planned to expand his territory and he does not want any racial discrimination that will later join in his territory. Agha thinks that conquering an area will require population, just relying on its race alone will certainly not be able to fill the territory that he later conquered.

But in various other kingdoms there was still racial discrimination which resulted in the appearance of slavery while in the Agrapana Kingdom itself slavery had been eliminated by Raja Asoka.

After talking for a long time with Ner Si'er. Agha asked Ner Si'er to follow him, moreover he was alone and his tribe had perished. Hearing the request from Agha Ner Si'er was silent for quite a long time and finally he nodded his head as a sign of agreement to follow Agha and join the Agrapana Kingdom.

Agha saw the appearance of Ner Si'er, she was a female Goblin who had a height of 160 cm, black hair hanging down. Ner Si'er explained that Goblins consist of three levels namely ordinary Goblins, Hob-Goblins, and High-Goblins.

Goblins are ordinary like Goblins in general, while the characteristics of Hob-Goblins are almost similar to humans and the highest is High-Goblins. High-Goblin characteristics are the same as humans but have striking differences like skin color.

Looking at the characteristics of Ner Si'er, he can be categorized as a High-Goblin, Agha can confirm that after he asks Ner Si'er. When they were still chatting suddenly Agha coughed and bled.

"Your Majesty, are you all right?" asked Gajah Mada who was worried when she saw Agha vomiting blood.

"Ah ... ukhh ... it's alright this general is just an injury I received from the fight against Goldie Bear." Agha explained to Gajah Mada while wiping the blood on her lips.

"Forgive us, Your Majesty." Jabari Mbanefo and The Dark Vanguard knelt before Agha.

"Hahahhaha ukhhh ... it's alright captain, this is what I want and the General knows that."

"But ... as one of the special units and the bodyguards of the King, we must protect you from danger not like this," Jabari Mbanefo said with his head down and feeling sorry.

"It's okay captain, as a King I have to be ready to fight anywhere. Only relying on the bodyguard looks weak isn't it," explained Agha to all of them.

Hearing Agha's words, they could only smile shyly but they were also proud to be able to serve the King like this. Agha tells Ner Si'er to learn the language used by his people, Agha wants to create a language system where there are primary and secondary languages.

The language he made the main language is the language that Agha uses everyday, while the secondary language is the language of the various races he conquered or races that exist within the territory of his kingdom.

Agha approached Goldie Bear who was recovering under a tree.

"Calling him Goldie Bear is too complicated, I should just name it so it's easier to call him. I'll call him Akai, he's big and has a number of shades of red after making a blood contract with me."
Agha thought when he saw the recovering Goldie Bear. Agha immediately sat next to Goldie Bear and meditated to calm the ki and recover the injury he had. Not long ago when Agha was recovering, the place where the Agha group was resting was visited by a group of Goblins led by Hob-Goblins.

Seeing a group of Goblins coming to their resting place, Gajah Mada was alert. Then he asked Sakura to wake the Agha, because only he understood the Goblin Language among this group.
