It appears some people are confused about my current fiction, "The Descent To Depravity". So, I'll be clearing some confusions and answering questions in this one.
1). This novel is an anthology of short stories where the setting is essentially a world of reversed gender roles.
2). No, The small series in this anthology will not be continued if the numerals (For Example, "__ (1)") have ended, meaning the series of said short story has ended.
3). No, I'm not doing requests. This is more of an outlet for me to write whatever fantasies I thought of during the day/night. 
4). Yes, I will eventually be and am writing up the draft of a novel currently. After this is finished, I'll release the novel.
5). Yes, I publish on other web novel sites, but none of them have a chapter advantage or privileges over the other. It is simply to stretch my reach of influence.
6). I'm sorry for going ghost on all of you. College season has started but don't worry. I have already written up a schedule and will follow it strictly.  
7).  Yes, I will be putting up a ******* eventually since I am going to pursue a career in writing. But. It will take a while, a really lonngggg while.

Amada Rosa Pérez was one of Colombia's most famous supermodels. She worked on shoots in some of the most beautiful places in the world and was used to being lavished with attention and fame and money.

I'm not a religious person by any means, and Pérez and I probably don't share a lot of values about things like sexuality. But I totally get Pérez's need for real meaning in her life—for something more than the superficialities of comfort and pleasure. It's a main theme of pretty much all of my writing.

I've railed against the all-too-common, toxic ideas in modern culture that more is better and that we can "have it all". Because I don't think happiness is something you should pursue for its own sake. In fact, happiness isn't really the point to begin with, and trying to "feel good" all the time will only make you a miserable mess of a human being.

In all of the stories told here, if you look a little closer, you'll notice that each person—all of them successful by typical measures of success—had a higher purpose that transcended the typical measures of success.

Hello, to anyone who still cares enough to read this. 

Firstly, I would like to express my gratitude to the people who gave me feedback on my novel and supported me during my short three-week run. For that, I am eternally grateful. 

I kind of disappeared out of the blue without saying anything because I couldn't take it anymore. It was stupid of me to do, but here I will be trying to list my reasons and I hope you can understand.

I began to write for WebNovel after seeing their advertisement for up and coming authors to make a living off of writing. I hate myself for being so naive. Looking back on it now, it was like falling for any other scam on the internet. Stuff like "Doctor's hate him because ... " and "Sign up to win ... " Etc Etc. 

As a twenty-three-year-old university student working two jobs, the only time I could fit to write was during the hours of 12 am and 5 am. It was literally killing me to publish chapters as I began to fall asleep in class, and my performance at work got a bit sloppy. 

But for the most part, I enjoyed writing the chapters because I loved to write. I loved to publish a chapter and stalk it until someone posted a reply. That moment when the first person said something meant the world to me. Because it meant someone cared that my story existed, and for this reason, I tried to push myself to put out more and more chapters. 

Things started to go wrong though, as most things do. Webnovel's feedback system is the most depressing thing. It actively tracked how many people had my novel in their collection and how many total views the novel had. However, the only number that matter was the collections. 

The thing was, these numbers were always bugged and never gave me a clear indication as to the scale of my readers. Aside from the usual comments from return readers, the number didn't mean anything. It was like running in one spot, over and over without any clear indication to if I was making any progress. It's horrible when the work you put in seems to yield basically no results. 

I was feeling euphoric watching my collections pass 100. You guys don't know the scale to my happiness. I basically woke up my whole household in celebration.

Then, in the author's discord channel, they confirmed that everything on the interface was bugged. Yep, talk about a slap in the face. 

To summarize ... I was and still am a hopeful about making a career out of my writing. But doing it on Webnovel is ill-advised. Unless that is if you are writing a fan-fiction or another cliche 'system' novel. In that case, I believe you'll find much success. 

Also, if you guys want to know the biggest reason for my departure from WN; in the search function, look up 'Da Contract'. It's the actual web novel contract. Even if you guys don't know the lingo its fine. Just take a look through and you'll understand my frustrations. 

The staff never really cared about us authors either. They seldom gave out prizing for contests and were hush-hush about even attaining a contract. But reading through it ... this thing is a slave contract. I kid you not. Anyone who is desperate enough to sign, I give you my condolences. But it's completely and utterly unbefitting of a professional "employer-producer" relationship. 

And the fact that tried to keep the contract under wraps ... they knew what they were doing.

Thankfully, a fellow author "ink bamboo" was quick to point this out to me. Otherwise, I would possibly be still slaving away here, with no end in sight. I probably would have hung myself if all my stress ended up culminating with being presented with this contract ... 

There are so many things I want to say, but I find myself more and more depressed as I think about it. An entire month of my life down that drain ... it feels bad.

I was told to try my hand with self-publishing on Amazon with Kindle. I believe it's more worth it for me to try there. If people buy my book and like it, at least I can get immediate feedback. If it doesn't work out... well, I suppose it just means I don't have the talent for writing.

Imperious Edge will continue, but not here. Not in this depressing hellscape. 

To my frequent readers, I am sorry, deeply and truly sorry that I have let you down. I can only hope you understand my choices. I often end my chapters with a bow, and to that, I give you my final respectful gesture as I sign off here. 

Perhaps it's asking too much, but I hope you guys would care enough to support me in my endeavours to becoming an amateur author. When I publish my first Volume, I will update this.

WN is crap. They're slave drivers and made me question why I was wasting my time here. I'm sorry, but I just can't sit here and take it.

If you didn't know, this fan fiction was made for the MLBB x Web Novel event and it, somehow, won 3rd place with my mediocre writing skills and with only 6 chapters uploaded. My school started while the contest was still ongoing thus I didn't have enough time to continue writing. My spare time was spent on my other hobbies. For these reasons, I only managed to produce 6 chapters. 

This was the first time I wrote a story, a fan fiction, a novel or whatever you'd like to call it. I was honestly surprised that it won. "Why would people like my story? This is the first time I wrote something like this, and people actually liked it?" I thought to myself. It sparked my interest for writing and I've been planning to continue working on this novel since then. But I never did because I got discouraged by my lack of 'writing skills' and writer's block, and the fact that this is just a fan fiction. 

But ultimately, after 6 whole months, I decided to take action. I wanted to write a novel, similar to the ones I've been reading for the past year. A part of me said, "But I have no writing experience. Even if you write, it won't be that good." A different part of me replied, "Well, maybe you could work on Master of Magic. You won't mind if it's bad, after all you said it's just a fan fic."

I've been working on this fan fiction for the past few weeks. Building the world, the characters, the plot, the magic system and all that stuff. Wth the upcoming Christmas break, I'll have enough time to write chapters for this fan fiction. The story will be different, and I'll start releasing them on 2020. And that's about it for the update, really.

Recently I have noticed that some of you are arguing between each other on the matter of Soren's relations and how big the Harem will get. A: Who knows, but for now, I will finish off this Fan Fiction, then I will start an original Novel so I can make some money if it becomes famous, but for future Fan Fictions maybe you guys can give some ideas, and if I don't know the Anime/Manga/Novel then I will Read/Watch it before writing a new Fan Fiction.

Hi! For my QI readers, I realised that you didn't get to read how I started writing Spirit Immortal. So below is a short description of myself!


Background about myself and inspirations for writing Spirit Immortal
Currently, I am a university undergraduate, and I have been reading fiction for years. I first got into reading fiction because of anime. Initially, I was a pure anime/manga fan. But I then found out about the existence of light novels. Light novels were far ahead from the existing anime, so I started to binge read translated volumes on Baka-Tsuki. It became somewhat of a drug to me. I kept reading and eventually, fictions had become part of my daily life. However, everything changed when the Yen Press attacked… Suddenly, many of my favourite novels disappeared, and less and less light novel translations surfaced. 

Finding myself in a severe deficit of fictions to read, I found something called Novelupdates. Every few minutes, there was a new novel chapter being released. I was overjoyed. Finally, I was able to satisfy my daily fiction needs. That was how I got into wuxia/xianxia novels. Being ethnically Chinese and fluent in both English and Chinese, there was a great allure for me in these stories. When I was younger, I would frequently watch The Legend of the Condor Heroes and many what we call "wuxia xiaoshuo." So seeing that the traditional stories blend with modern themes was somewhat shocking to me. To think that such a part of the internet existed!

So I started reading a lot of wuxia/xianxia stories. I remember the early days of Coiling Dragon and Stellar Transformations. The friendly competition between Gravitytales and Wuxiaworld. But one day, I encountered Doulou Dalu. For those who have not noticed, Spirit Immortal's cultivation system is inspired by this very novel. The reason being, it was the only cultivation system that I could actually follow. It's a very simplistic system, rank 1-100. The other Wuxia novels cultivation systems confused the heck out of me. However, worry not, Spirit Immortal is not a fanfiction of Doulou Dalu. In fact, other than the cultivation levels, they are nothing alike.

For a while, Doulou Dalu was my favourite novel. To a certain extent, it still is my favourite translated wuxia/xianxia novel. But I started feeling bored. Every single book that I read followed the same format. And after many disappointing stories, I thought to myself… Hey, I could just write something I like!

Thus, the idea of Spirit Immortal started germinating in my mind. It took me over five months to finish plotting the major arcs, characters and finally the ending before I started typing my first word. Majority of the reason why it took so long for me to start writing this story is because of my procrastination and school. Additionally, I didn't know if the story was going to be well received. But eventually, I steeled my mind and said: "Whatever, as long as I am satisfied with the story, who cares?"

So yeah, currently the number one fan of Spirit Immortal is myself, and I can't wait to put the entire story I have in my head into words for all of you to read. It will take time though, so do stick around!


Issues I have had when writing Book Two
I have realised that many of you were unsatisfied with the pace of the story, saying that it is too slow and whatnot. And guess what, I agree! I have been putting the character and world development at the forefront of my story thus slowing down the story progression, However, fret not, now that the first two books are completed, the story progression would begin to expedite as I believe that I have sufficiently developed my characters!

I'm trying to be more descriptive in my writing but that is still a work in progress. Perhaps it would be the greatest hurdle for me but rest assured, I will try my best!

Another major issue I had was time management. I started writing Spirit Immortal during my semester break where I had plenty of time. I even managed to complete Book 1 during that break itself! However, once school started, I had to figure out a way to balance work, personal life and writing Spirit Immortal. There were some days where I only had three hours to efficiently write, proofread and edit my chapter before I deemed it ready to be published. Hence, there might be times where my writing quality dropped slightly but I'm trying my best to ensure that I retain and even improve on my writing quality, so please be patient with me on that one.


Future of Spirit Immortal
Once my semester break hits once more, I will be sitting myself down in order to write as many chapters as I can. Perhaps, eventually, I will take the road of creating a ******* account to allow you guys to read advance chapters and at the same time, give myself some funding to weather through the school days. 

So yeah, I can't thank you guys enough for continuing to stick with me as I continue to write Spirit Immortal. I hope that I will be able to deliver the satisfying fiction that I have conjured up and brought you as much enjoyment as I had in writing this story!

Over a million years ago, the first human contracted with the first Spirit. Ever since then, Spirit use has become commonplace. Humans used Spirits to carry items and start fires. Eventually, even start wars. Thousands upon thousands of years past and one day, one human did the impossible. He transcended his mortality and ascended to the realm above.  

In the present day, the Frie Clan was once a great clan of the Himmel empire. However, a devastating battle ten years ago crippled the clan and their numbers dwindled. To make up for their loss, the upper echelons decided to adopt young orphans and nurture them to become a future pillar of the weakened clan. Shin was one of those orphans. 

Although picked up by the Frie Clan, not all is smooth sailing for Shin and the other orphans...

Tinashe was helpless against the tides and was going manic from the fear of death. Everything happened so fast and he didn't really have time to prepare. As he lamented his peril, the mandigo man with adequate swimming skills, got a hold of him and tugged him. Tinashe felt like he had been yanked by something strong, a manly grip that helped him out of a disastrous situation. John flowed with him until they reached a log that was lodged against land and a rock. 




He injected his free hand into the flesh of that log and used it to anchor themselves. John who could now see eye to eye with the distraught Tinashe, began assure him that he was going to be okay. Tinashe realized that this man was protecting him, but still felt stifled by the ordeal. The entire rainfall lasted for over 6 hours until it subsided into drizzle. John took this opportunity to swim towards a location with higher ground. Once, he had done so, the two of them began to talk.




"That was a close one. I am sorry I scared you off. Are you okay?" asked John, who was dragging the young man's body.
"Thank you, shit. I don't want to experience that again." he said, panting and coughing at the same time.
"Yeah. It would have been a shame to lose you so soon. You are the first person I have seen on this damn island." he said as they climbed over a trench like path.
"Yeah, thank you man. I am not much of a swimmer. What's your name, um, sir?" he said, getting the full scope of the man's body. 
"Call me John, and from what I can see from your life bar hovering over you, you're Tinashe Mahando, right?" he said, darting his eyes at the name highlighted on top of his visible life bar. Tinashe also noticed John's bar and then said, "Yeah, that's about right. I can see it, it's pretty crazy that I can see that life bar." 
"Yeah, I initially thought that this was the first stage of hell or something, some diabolical battle royal where 1000 people kill each other before proceeding to the epic finale of weeping and gnashing of teeth. Well, I honestly thought I would be in hell, but I am on a tropical paradise with typhoon like weather conditions reminiscing the movie 'Cast Away' by Tom Hanks. Weird right?" he said, as if engrossed in the art of delivering lines for a scripted monologue.
"Yeah, I have seen Cast Away." said Tinashe, who didn't know what to say about all the hints to hell in John's statement.




"Well Cast Away is a good film, I reckon the writing could have been tighter at certain points in the script. Well, I did find solace in having coconuts with faces all stacked up at my base as an alternative for people, but now that I have found someone, I won't have to participate in the act of mental degeneration." he said, grabbing a hold of a branch as he climbed up.
"You kept coconuts with faces? Um?" he asked, totally bewildered.
"Well don't think too much about it.Anyways how did you get here?" he asked, trying to dissuade him from thinking he was crazy.
"Get here?" he asked, confused by the context of the question.
"Yes here on the island. Tell me what you remember before and after you got here. The devil's in the details so make sure to give me everything." he said, holding him by the shoulder and looking into the boy's eyes. Tinashe told him everything concerning his death due to suicide via euthanasia in his past life and where he woke. John nodded and even had moments where he would stare with much interest. The fixation was so intense that Tinashe began to feel uncomfortable. John then went on to say, "So maybe this could be a purgatory for those who committed suicide with a rather sick twist of all the 1000 facing off against each other."




"What makes you think everyone is supposed to face off, why are you drawing such conclusions?" he asked, worried that he was making dangerous inferences.
"Well think about it logically. If we have bodies that behave and have facets of our progress compartmentalized by stats similar to what you'd find in a role playing game, plus the fact that killing other plays can yield you experience points via the 'Assimilation method' definitely means that leveling up will also have to deal with clashing with others." he said, with a stern look.
"Wait, this is my first time hearing about this how could you possibly know?" he asked, now doubtful of the man's reasoning capacity.
"Well let me show you then." he said, immediately instructing him to do a step by step entry on his custom goal. Tinashe read the information and wondered why he had never even considered searching this before. John noticed the horror in the boy's face and told him, "If this news flash breaks your heart, then you must throw away any ideas about this being a heavenly afterlife because with what that purple demon has said, it's pretty clear that we have to level up, survive the hostile elements like the wildlife, weather and finally other players. This is a survival game but we don't have to all adhere to whatever rules we have been given, that's why I want to form a group, hopefully find reasonable people so that we can survive and resist people who will try to take out others. The only issue is that people are hard to find. I hope you will be a decent person Tinashe."





"Um wow, that's a lot to take in, I am a decent guy. I don't think I have it in me, you know, murder, I don't think I would ever kill someone." he said, as he shivered. 
"Well hopefully you won't have to. I see that you are shivering, I will take you to my hideout. I was initially exploring the other side of island, hoping to find others and acquaint myself with nature until I got caught in the rain. I figured that it would be better to hide in a cave rather under a tree when I noticed the water levels rising. I am pretty sure I gave you quite the scare when I came in unannounced, so anyways I will treat you to something I learned recently from much experimentation. You look fairly young, do you drink?" he asked, interested in his response.
"Well, I wish I had before I had killed myself." he said, barely delivering his words due to his intense shiver.
"Well your virgin lips will surely learn the taste of alcohol in the afterlife. A pleasant catharsis awaits you ahead." he said, with a grin on his face. The two of them trotted in the muddy terrain as the winds were blowing and giving a ghastly eolowin tone that rustled the leaves and trees. The journey towards John's cave would take just under an hour and for some reason, the monkeys they came across, with their purple drenched thick fur, were subdued and didn't attack them. They seemed excited by John's presence and John even reassured Tinashe to stay calm. Tinashe remembered being clobbered by a monkey recently and nearly died, but these creatures seemed excited with a rather reverent attitude. He was beginning to feel safer in the arms of this man and hoped that he would help him out with all the questions he could not answer for himself, regarding the world of Goshem. 




John's cave looked remarkable and modern. It was lit by many of the night bugs and the walls were painted with some liquid that glowed in the dark. He had several custom made pillows, made using some animal's wool and some leather from an animal he slaughtered. Everything was stitched together using thin vines and silk from silkworms that were boiled in a clay pot after they had finished pupating. John seemed rather knowledgeable in the arts and crafts department and also made a contraption that looked like a stove made from some weird alloy and strung together with wood. He had a huge clay container that resembled a cooler box which contained fruits that had been fermented for 4 days. John handed Tinashe the wool made blanket and pillows to lie on.





 Tinashe obliged and reclined on the pillows. Sleeping on this was a real treat compared to lying on the rugged terrain. Tinashe glanced at him and before he could ask how he managed to pull all this off, John said, "You wish to know how I am this resourceful? Well before I became a famous novelist and writer who wore many hats, I used to be part of Do It Yourself styled show that involved crafting things based email requests. Relying on mostly the internet and specialized assistance from professionals, I got really useful skills."
"Wait you were a famous novelist? What books did you write?" he asked, astounded by this revelation.
"The player follows, the philanderer, The Eternal dragon of the litRPG, Sewn to perfection and my magnum opus, the artist's woe. That was the only book that I got critical praise for and it was the highlight of my career." he said, pouring the fermented fruit juice into clay tumblers.
"Wow! That's amazing, you were an established writer. Well to be honest, I was mostly into non-fiction and historical books, I never really found story books interesting." he said, as he snuggled into the pillows.




"Not even the classics like Dickens, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde or George Orwell?" he asked, astonished by his lack of interest in literary fiction.
"Well, my dad and mom mostly encouraged me to reader factual books and stuff. So I was really interested in learning different cultures, their history, ethnicities and why they behaved a certain way. I think knowing more about your initial environment and opening your mind to how other societies coped with everything in the world fascinated me more than fictional stuff." he said, with a rather romanticized expression.
"A noble answer indeed, so what were you planning on becoming then, with your interests?" he asked as he handed him a cup of alcohol.





"Well, I think I would aim to be a Vice correspondent. You know Vice right, the journalist organisation that covers various issues and uncovers truths that mainstream media would rather not show because of political biases. I wanted to shed light on things." he said with a passionate look.
"Hmm, that sounds like a rather dangerous field but at the same time an interesting one. Travelling around the world, going to conflict zones and debunking the bullshit that major news networks try to feed the masses. That's interesting, but why would someone who wanted to pursue such a career terminate their life?" he asked, almost confused by why Tinashe had opted for suicide despite his ambitions.




"Well, I guess I wasn't strong enough to handle verbal abuse and bullying at school. I was quite the unique cookie and didn't follow the crowd. That made me popular for the wrong reasons and I was harassed alone. I wasn't used to the world being against me so I caved in to the pressure." he said, with a morose look as he drank the alcohol. The alcohol tasted sweet instead of sour and Tinashe wondered why his expectations were betrayed. Tinashe then asked him, "You seem like you were a celebrity or something in your past life, why did you commit suicide if you so much success?"
"Well brace yourself, I have got quite the tale to tell." he said, immediately drinking 3 shots as soon as he was done.

A young man struggles with unemployment, failed dreams and overall becoming a useless member in society and decides to kill himself. Upon seeking this method of death, he encounters a being from the alternative realm who gives him an option of starting his life over from scratch, from level 1 on his planet. This gives him the chance to finally carve out a path for himself that he could never do on earth.

Friggin' awful romance…
Yanee trudged the hallway towards the office where the rest of the editors of the literary department were.
"Oh, you're the new assistant?" a guy asked good-naturedly, going over Yanee with interest in his eyes.
He was a fairly good looking young man and looked decent. But Yanee was totally not interested in an office affair, and so, she ignored the undertones he was sending her.
"Yes, I am. I came with work," she said politely as she handed the documents over, and other people came towards her for a look.
Among the crowd, there were others she didn't recognize. They were probably from Niji International as well who came here with Tohru James.
"Oh, you're the lucky lady working with the boss," the girls commented as they too assessed her. There was obvious envy in the way they delivered their words.
Yanee fought hard not to roll her eyes. She already knew her boss was very popular with the opposite sex and thus aware she would be subjected to uncalled for evaluation such as this.
"I'm the new assistant starting today, yes," she answered with cold politeness that warned the others she wouldn't take other remarks from them.
Understanding this, the others seemed to back off. The company didn't have any tolerance for any office disputes, and they'd risk being sacked if they turned antagonistic, most especially towards Tohru James' assistant. The latter was famous for sacking people so easily if they did so much as breathed gossip in the workplace.
It was a fact everyone seemed to remember and so the heavy atmosphere lifted as they tried to be friendly.
"I heard you'll be working on a romance series to revive the romance department," one girl volunteered information, and Yanee tried hard to smile.
Under the literary department, of course, were different genres and each one had its own department as well. Since romance was not doing well in the company, it's what Tohru James decided to handle. It was also the cause of Yanee's depression.
If she had a dislike for the literary department, then Yanee had no love for romantic books. She felt them too superficial and nonrealistic. She never even bothered reading about them. She reckoned that many girls were now single because literary fiction had ruined real-life romance for them.
Could you imagine falling in love with a real guy after reading too many handsome, sexy, rich men that were loyal and crazy about the female leads most of the time? That's a totally difficult feat. All those romantic nonsense in women's heads made them yearn for unrealistic things, therefore, ended up being alone.
For instance, her sister.
Ami's already thirty years old and her parents were pressuring her to marry. But Yanee's sister wouldn't since she was determined to find her Prince Charming and marry only him.
Yanee snorted at the memory of her geek sister. In short, if their parents were looking for grandchildren, they'd better not look at her sister – not that Yanee had planned on giving them those either. If her sister overflowed with romantic ideas, Yanee had a shortage of them. She had become too cynical over the years for some romance.
The culprit?
Yanee slightly frowned. She didn't even want to think about the reason why she's allergic to falling in love most especially at work anymore. It was a history that was better off buried. She had decided to move on and become successful. That was her priority.
The people thought her frown was because of the huge task ahead of her, and they started giving her comforting words which were funny because they seemed to be prepared to provoke her over her boss earlier.
Well, they might have sensed her cold-heartedness and disinterest towards the boss and decided she was no competition.
"Don't worry. We heard you were from the lifestyle magazine department before. If you need help, just come to us and we'll try to help you out," they offered, and Yanee was not able to do anything but smile and accept their goodwill.
"I will do that then," she told them as she left to return to her boss's office.
The herculean task to revive the romance department hung on her head, and Yanee had never felt such pressure on her shoulders. It was really different when you're not a fan of what you did. If you liked your job, there was nothing difficult about it. But if you hated it, then that's totally horrible. One could never excel on something he despised. If his heart's not in it, he would fail.
"Have you finished endorsing those projects?" Tohru James asked as soon as she returned to his office.
"Yes, sir. I was able to delegate the projects to everyone without problems," Yanee answered mechanically as she dragged herself back towards his desk.
"Why do you look like that then?" he suddenly asked, surprising Yanee.
She wondered how she looked as she touched her face. "Look like what, sir?"
"Like you just came from a funeral," Tohru James commented, and Yanee wanted to cry.
This mean potato…
She'd never been insulted and bullied in all her life as she had been today. First, she was accused of being late, then being deaf, and then now he just insulted her to her face. Well, she could play this game too.
"My dream just died, sir, so it's probably why," she retorted.
Yanee knew that in her interview with him, she had mentioned to Tohru James that her dream was to become a popular writer. It was when she had asked him if being an editor was his dream, and she had to offer that information as an example. But she was not expecting him to remember that. She's not an important person anyway for him to bother remembering things about.
Since she was good at writing articles, she was hoping that her career would be in that direction. But she was suddenly transferred to her most hated department. Her career was as good as being dead.
"You mean being a writer?" he asked, and Yanee was surprised he could still remember that.
She cleared her throat. "Y-yes…"
Huh?
Amusement danced in those pair of chocolate eyes as laughter escaped his lips, and Yanee wondered if this man was suddenly taken over by aliens. Aside from his poker face this morning, he seemed like a normal guy for the rest of the day. For someone who she nearly cried over and begged to answer during the interview, this sudden normalness was making her crazy.
Her suspicions might have shown on her face as he straightened out and cleared his own throat before he spoke again.
"You must be thinking that I'm strange," he said.
Well… totally.
But of course, Yanee couldn't say that to his face.
"I'm so sorry as I seemed to have given you a hard time months ago during the interview. I was just going through a tough time, so I was not really happy being asked so many questions. I just couldn't back out because I was helping out a friend," he suddenly apologized surprising Yanee even more.
It was common knowledge that the chief editor of the magazine was friends with Tohru James, so Yanee nodded. Her former boss already told her the reason why she was able to interview the aloof editor of Niji International. Even if the people said that the man was friendly, he prized his privacy and didn't give interviews so freely.
It was maybe the reason why he was not at all friendly with her during the interview. It was because he was forced to do it.
"I didn't mind," Yanee answered.
Tohru James after all still answered her questions properly in the end, even if she had to extend the time to interview him. Come to think of it…
He answered them all properly and was even friendly on the last day.
Ah…yes, she remembered that the potato wasn't that bad. But still, her dreams were dead. Or so she thought.
"Anyway, be happy I'm giving you a chance to reach your dream?" he suddenly said that surprised her.
What? She's going to have her old job back?
NOT.
Tohru James handed her another proposal for a series, but this time, she was totally not impressed. Instead, a dread spread in her chest as if something bad was going to happen.
"Office Diaries?"
It was a series – a compilation of romantic stories that happened at work. But, unlike the other proposals, this was only an outline. Instead of descriptions, there were names written there.
"Interview those people and write the anthology yourself. That's your project."
Huh? WAIT.
Yanee was panicking, but Tohru James wouldn't give her a chance to protest.
"That project, if done correctly would be a huge hit. If not…"Danger glittered in his eyes, and Yanee had never felt so threatened in her life.
"Say goodbye to your job."
