A hockey stick rested on her shoulders as one hand opened the door. The key sunk into the key hole, turned slightly and the door swung open letting her into the nice and comfy home that was once her refuge. The place reminded her of the days of laughter and gloom sometimes. Sometimes sleepless nights of passion and other times just calm acquiescence as they worked. It reminded her of calm days that no one talked yet both found a sense of peace because they were together. Days of pranks as she was tickled when all she wanted to do was run to the bathroom to be relieved. Late phone calls at night that was dismissed. 
The hockey stick swung down on the glass table leaving a web of cracks when she recalled the late phone calls. A flower vase made of clay landed on the floor breaking into smithereens. A cup left on the table during the morning rush shook and landed on the floor, breaking into two. Another swing and the table crashed down. The lawyer in her forgot the vocabulary vandalism, trespass and breaking and entry. It wasn't trespass if she had a key, right? That consolation riled her up as she climbed on the sofa and crushed the picture frames of his travel photos. The hockey stick swept through the glasses as she lightly dragged it on the floor. A face scrunched in contemplation seemed to guide her slow quiet steps to a painting. Her heart rose in thrill, a wicked smile plastered her face as her hands reached out for the precious painting. The painting was unlatched from the wall and carefully placed on the sofa set. Its beauty got distorted as her heart glowed in satisfaction with every swing of the hockey stick.

The phone sought her attention. It was a delivery notification. Perfect! She let the hockey stick down and strode to the door, opening it slightly and taking the box after confirming and paying for the delivery. Online shopping can be quite convenient at times like this, she mused. She had just gotten started. The box was settled on the sofa with the smashed painting as she headed to the cabinet containing his lovely collection of wine. Nope, she did not have the strength to open the cabinet but she had enough energy to swing a hockey stick at it. The cabinet door crushed, a hand slid the remnants of the door aside, ignoring the resulting scratches and cuts by the glass on her hands. May be a little first aid won't hurt; she grabbed one bottle of red wine, opened it and poured it on her hand as she strolled to the bathroom to take a bucket. The wine swirled from the bottle to her hand and landed on the floor, staining both the tiles and carpeted areas. The emptied wine bottle flew to the wall, crushing and scattering on the floor. Non-nonchalantly, she dropped bottle after bottle of wine into the bucket she picked from the bathroom. Wine seeped from the bottles and streamed into the bucket. After half crashing bottles and half pouring the wine into the bucket, she carried it to the bedroom. May be a cocktail will do, she thought as she passed the kitchen. The watermelon that was lying on the kitchen counter was smashed and swept into the wine bucket. Bananas were peeled and thrown into the cocktail bucket. Exquisite! She smiled as she poured the contents on the well-made bed. She stood aside to admire her work of art that seeped through the bed covers, sheets and blanket.
He painted the town red with an engagement; she would paint his house rainbow. The delivery box contained enamel paint in all the colours of the rainbow. Arcobaleno! She retrieved the paint and poured it whenever she walked, from the sofas in the sitting room to the bed mat by the wet bed. The fruit flies that had already gathered on the bed were picturesque, she thought. Yellow paint ran down the smart TV and smudged evenly to completely cover it. As a finishing touch, she spray painted the wall, drawing a joker-face caricature. Under it was written the words '5 years of a joke summed by one day of this joke. Stay humored. Oh, I took the lap'. If five years was a joke that could end in one day, then this one day was hers to also humor him. 
She threw the spray can down after further doodles and a notice that she had taken his laptop as payment. The hockey stick was abandoned in the wreckage while she stepped out of the room like the O.G, a laptop bag on her shoulder and the sounds of Ludacris' 'move bitch get out of the way' bursting through her earphones. Her kinky hair puffed up carelessly and came together at the back, tamed by a thin black hair bobble with silver colored balls. The hair bobble's black strands camouflaged with her hair as the silver balls gave it the right amount of color. Tiny wisps of hair scattered at the front, complementing her rough look. As she looked up with her lively eyes, the round and white globes accentuated by dark pupils pierced through everyone, uninviting. A smile drew one to her round face with chubby cheeks and sepia brown lips lightly touched by gloss. A white off-shoulder chiffon shirt contrasted the black high waist short that flattered her curves, neither being too tight nor too loose. The ground seemed to be frozen by every confident step she made, brown timberland boots settling on her feet like they were meant for each other.
Whoa, such a satisfying feeling!
And such little courage to go crazy, she thought sadly as she was drawn back to her breakfast and her reality. The reality of anger on a leash, bridled anger.

"so where are we going to start?" Avery said after she moved some of the boxes to the living room."well I did by some like wall paper paint thing that is like paper when you put it on the wall then it basically turns into paint onto the wall and it dries in ten minutes."I say looking around the room trying to think about where I'm putting stuff."then go get it." Avery says trying to move the bed to the middle of the room.i walk into the living room and look through some of the boxes and finally find the wall paper paint thing."here."I gave Avery some of the paper and we put it on the wall.it took us about thirty minutes to put the baby blue wallpaper stuff on the walls. after we let it dry we put my L.E.D lights around the ceiling which took us a while."where do you want to put your bed?"Avery said as we finished putting the L.E.D lights up."maybe over in the corner facing the closet." I say. we move the bed and then put the grey comforter on the bed and put a few posters up and then we finished doing the room with putting my grey carpet in front of my bed and then we put my clothes in the white dresser of the room and then we hanged the other clothes in the closet."what time is it now?"I groan feeling tired from working on the room."well it is now 11:34 am.oh and I just realized I didn't finish showing the dorm to you." Avery says jumping off the bed and walking to the door leading to the living room."this way."she says and I follow her."the kitchen is in there and I also forgot to tell you that the other door in your room is a bathroom."I nod and wonder what else is in the dorm.we walk to a closet looking door and she opens in.it has stairs leading to some where. Avery just walked up the stairs and I followed a little scared wondering what's up there.wjen we get up there,we are in a huge room that has poles in the room with couches and a fridge and there is a TV playing shows and the lights are dim and there are L.E.D lights around the ceiling."what is this room?" I say looking around."well we call this the party room."she says happily."why are there poles?" "for reasons." Avery says giving me a wink.we walk back downstairs and we go to the living room."so what do we do now?" "well we could either go to classes which are actually fun or just stay in the dorm."Avery said looking like she hopes for me to say leave the dorm and go to classes."let's go to classes." I say and Avery looks happy."I think we are in fourth period now which means we have gym in ten minutes." we leave the dorm and walk to the gym even though 5th period has not started yet.some of the kids were holding their stuff for their next class."let's go to the locker room because I don't want people to stare and scare you too much." Avery says and we walk into the girls locker room.the lockers are red and there are benches where people can sit on and then if you walk to the back there is some bathroom stalls and a shower room in the corner and there are mirrors for girls to go look at their selves in."your locker is number 1074 which is over there." she points to a corner where lockers were.she walked to her locker which is in the same corner as mine and we change.i change into some shorts and a crop top school hoodie and put my converse shoes on and put my other stuff away.the shorts feel a little tight around my legs but I will live.when we got done we walked to the bleachers of the gym and sat down and watched as people leave and enter the gym. "well I think today we are having a free day." Avery says looking at the people that enter the gym."wait a minute!"Avery says looking confused at me."is that a belly button percing?!" she says looking at my stomach."I'm yeah I got it last year during the summer."I say."wow I got mine when I was ten."she says.when everyone got to the gym the teacher came out. a women with blonde hair looking the age of maybe 35 walks out wearing sweat pants and a black long sleeve shirt with a whistle around her neck."today is a free day due to the fact that some of the work out machines upstairs are not working." she says and walks away."let's go to Eli and the others." Avery says and I nod as we get up and leave the area we were sitting at

Dad immediately went to do his work. Our father loves to do renovation by himself and then braggs about his work, he loves to do it all the time, but my mother hates it when dad dose these kinds of work since dad ends up making a mess of the whole neighbourhood, but dad ignores her and dose it anyway.It is pretty hard to watch him do theses kinde of work since dad is very clumsy and constantly have accidents while doing his work. Today dad's task was to cut  the grass and clean up the whole backyard but dad decided to also paint our backyard wall and and clean up the storeroom. So, after thinking for a while about what he was going to do dad decided to go to the shop around three miles away from our home to buy paint. Meanwhile mum and Lena had already started to argue about some reason, I mean.... they don't need any reason to argue and the worst part is the both like to win arguments and both of them hates to lose. At the same time mr and George had also started our fight about who was going to clean the bathroom since both of US didn't want to clean it, unfortunately at the end George won and I agreed to clean the bathroom. I decided to sweep the dust before mopping but before I could even start George had already started to mop the floor and what I didn't want to happen had happened, all the dust on the floor mixed up with the water and the whole floor was muddy at that moment I lost my temper and I yelled- "you stupid!, what are you doing?!!" had he yelled back "you are a stupid not me!!!, in fact you are the most stupid person I have ever met!!". After that  there was a serious arguments about who is more stupid.

The Compound—because there is no way it could be called a house—is decidedly empty when he arrives with Chiyo. There are rows and rows of succulents, some bunched around a pond. Sasori is torn between whether he should commend his grandmother for managing to keep a pond in the desert or pointing out that it's a horrible waste of water. He does neither of these things as he is guided in by his grandmother through the compound, pointing out the different rooms and their purposes, occasionally expounding upon their personal history as well.

They arrive at his room, it's...bland, to say the least.

It seems that his previous self was a neat freak and had an intense hatred for things called furniture. His room literally only contains his futon, some drawers for clothes, a closet, and a desk.

There is nothing else.

This has got to go, the first thing he's going to do after he gets his hands on some paint and go crazy on the walls.

It will be glorious.

If his tiny new hands have the dexterity to pull it off, that is. Otherwise, it'll just look like a six-year-old decided to paint his walls.

"Grandma?" he tugs at her sleeve, "Where are my parents?"

What he really wants to ask is if they've kicked the bucket yet, but because that'll go over so well, he's trying to be subtle. Which he is probably failing at because surveying the sad state of his room has no correlation with the existence of parents.

Chiyo seems stuck between trying to say something and not wanting to say it, looks like his parents are dead then. Considering the previous Chiyo in the anime did not ever tell her grandson about the demise of his parents. That caused him to have severe issues. Severe issues is an understatement.

At least this time he'll actually attempt at being something other than a recluse and stay mostly sane. The first part shouldn't be too hard he just has to force people to be his friends and hope that they're the ones who have a tendency to drag him out of his house. But he's not sure that he's even mostly sane now, much less later on after he's killed a bunch of people in the name of Suna and all that ridiculousness.

Oh yeah, he's going to have to kill people in the future. Fun. Maybe he can figure out a formula for how much sanity is lost per kill. He would if he actually likes math, unfortunately, he hates the subject with a burning passion so there will be no formulas anytime soon.

Sudden movement turns his attention back to his grandmother, she kneels in front of him, eye-level and for once seeming her age,

"Sasori, your parents...they didn't come back from their mission...and I don't think they will."

Well, this was a surprise, Chiyo never did this in canon...did she?

Shit, the last time he watched Naruto was two years ago and not all of the plot points or Kishimoto's messed up timeline are seared into his brain.

Well, he's royally screwed.

'Congratulations, Self, you have unlocked hidden dialogue and a new route.'

He mentally berates his brain for adding a game reference, the revelation of his now-deceased parents is no laughing matter. But he's not sad. He isn't. He tries to dredge up some sort of sorrow, but there is nothing.

These parents of his...they are strangers to him, they weren't "his" parents, they were Sasori's. And yet, in a twisted way, he is Sasori, therefore they are his parents. They are his parents yet not at the same time, it's confusing.

He opts for the healthier route of accepting that he doesn't have any relation to those strangers and that he shouldn't feel as if he's obligated to be sad about their demise. He certainly doesn't feel happy about it, just numb in the sense that these people could have been important to him, they could have been so much more. But now they're stuck as two-dimensional people, forever just characters with no real depth or identity. These people were supposed to be his parents, while he doesn't feel sad that they died, there is still an underlying sense of regret.

He'll go visit their graves when he has the chance to apologize profusely for whatever he did to their poor son.

Which is...him right now?

Sasori adds identity crises to his list of issues that may or may not need to be fixed, he'd like to have some semblance of sanity, thank you very much.

The real question is why Chiyo is taking all of this so calmly and not questioning anything. Just what did he do to himself that excuses amnesia?

"Grandma, how did I end up in the hospital?"

Chiyo purses her lips,

"You tripped."

Sasori's face blanks,

"Crazy Grandma says what now?"

Chiyo laughs, patting her grandson lightly on the head,

"You tripped and fell down the stairs because you rolled on the paint brushes I told you to not leave everywhere," She gives him a stern look, "And I was right, look what you did."

Sasori scoffs, he'd been expecting something more...impressive. But he did also die because he drowned in paint, so it's not as if he has anything to say about stupid life choices.

"Pathetic, next time I will make sure it's because I fell on my head from trying to roof jump."

"No! You will not purposefully endanger yourself!" Grandma doesn't appear to be very pleased with his declaration.

He supposes she's justified, self-harm isn't exactly a joking matter...but it's also his main supply for humor. Sasori isn't suicidal nor does he hate himself...okay maybe he hates himself a little, but not enough to go out of his way to harm himself.

He just has a very...bad sense of humor.

It offends people sometimes.

"I will attempt to keep my sorry self out of trouble, Grandma. I have another question, how old am I?"

Chiyo sighs, but lets him change the subject,

"You are five."

Huh, no wonder he's so tiny. From a college student to a toddler, what a role reversal.

And he has also used up his people meter for the day, social interaction beyond this point will end disastrously.

"Okay, I'll go to bed now, Grandma."

She nudges him towards the futon and closes the door to his room, but not before she reminds him,

"Perhaps that would be for the best, you are still recovering. We can continue the tour of the compound at a later date. Sleep well."

The door shuts and he's left to his own devices. He's not going to sleep, especially since he isn't tired and there's planning to do. Reaching a hand up, he feels his head for any injuries, clearly, he injured himself severely enough to excuse amnesia...and maybe death?

Sasori still isn't sure why he's here and not home in some hospital. He's almost certain that he died, what if the previous Sasori died too?

"But...that isn't canon. Canon Sasori lived, well, until Chiyo murdered him and he got resurrected later, but that's not the point because there's no way I'll allow that to happen."

He shudders, not dying is on the top of his list of priorities right now.

"The real question isn't how I'm here or even why, but what I will do now."

He doesn't remember much of canon Sasori, especially his younger years, beyond the fact that he was a prodigy who later delved into immoral practices and...left Suna?

Was that even what happened?

Well, Sasori definitely left Suna, the circumstances aren't exactly clear, but he was around his twenties when he did so. Somewhere after that he assassinated the Third Kazekage, made him a puppet, and made a bunch of other people his puppets. Perhaps not necessarily in that order either. He definitely killed a bunch of people minding their own business, and then Konan happened.

And then Akatsuki, and after that Orochimaru.

And then...Deidara?

After Deidara, he destroys some poor nation, the Land of This? Or was it the Land of That?

"Well, this is nice, I remember practically nothing about who I'm supposed to be, the past or the future."

He...destroys some random nation and kidnaps Gaara with Deidara, Gaara ends up dying and so does he when Chiyo stabs him through the heart.

Shit, he got killed by Sakura.

Sakura who became a meme for her uselessness.

"Am I really that pathetic? A reputation for literally staining the sand red and I get killed by a fifteen-year-old girl who can't stop chasing after her Sasuke-kun? I was an S-rank missing-nin and I get killed by Sakura?"

Fine, he'll admit that Sakura isn't useless, she has...had? Potential. She had potential, she wasn't completely useless, but her determination to marry Sasuke is very annoying.

Very, very annoying.

Kishimoto, write better female characters.

What about all the fanfiction shipping Sakura with him? Okay, maybe he read a few of them, but they weren't particularly good because...logic doesn't work that way.

Especially now since he is Sasori. Shipping random fictional characters without any logical basis can be excused. But now?

Nope.

Not.

Happening.

"Disgusting. At least I know what to avoid."

But he is five, there's more than enough time to plan later. Right now, he has to focus on not dying from stray weapons launched by irresponsible shinobi and fitting in. He'll begin with a thorough examination of his room, this is supposed to be his space, how sad would it be if he can't even adjust to himself?

Granted, most people don't wake up with "amnesia" in a different body and in a fictional world filled with death.

But he's always prided himself to be adaptable and down to earth, it takes a lot to phase him. His chronic case of senioritis helps with his general apathy.

"Ha, a five-year-old with the personality of a college student who's dead inside."

He rolls his futon up into a small bundle and pushes it to the wall, from experience, he knows that his room will later end up encroached by his numerous projects, so space will be precious.

Sleep is not that important anyway.

With that done, he opens his drawers one by one.

"Paintbrushes...did Chiyo start teaching me puppetry? Or did I already paint?"

Then he sees a small crumpled paper in the corner, he unrolls it to find a message stained by what looks like tears.

From Haha-ue and Chichi-ue to Sasori.

Oh.

This was a present from his parents. Not his parents? His not-parents?

Well.

He shuts the drawer quickly after he sets the note down carefully and empty out all the paint brushes onto the floor. He'll deal with the emotions attached to the note later.

He's...not in a good state to internalize that part of his identity yet. Especially not after Chiyo just told him about their deaths. It feels like he's intruding on something private.

Sasori isn't Sasori. He's an imposter. A stranger dressed in clothes that belonged to someone else. Someone loved and cared for.

He's...no, it's better this way. He pulls the drawer back open and retrieves the note. The words on it glare back at him mockingly.

From Haha-ue and Chichi-ue to Sasori.

"I'm sorry for replacing your son. I don't know what happened to him," He takes a deep breath, "But I will try to live his life the best I can."

Sasori gently folds the paper back up and return it to its corner in the drawer. He then moves on to the next drawer full of paper. Some of it is in rolls, others are loose and covered in diagrams. A couple of them are blank.

"Well, I now know that Sasori did start learning about puppets already," He muses, trying to decipher the diagrams and words, "This is also...from them. Haha-ue and Chichi-ue."

Then he grins, the diagrams aren't that hard, maybe for an actual five-year-old, but it has nothing against a five-year-old prodigy with the brain and experience of a college art major student. With the helpful notes in the margins, he'll be able to figure it out in no time.

"I guess that part of canon won't change, but I still will change a lot of it. Just think, Canon Sasori probably never contemplated much about his future as shinobi at five, especially not on new techniques," He places the paper back inside, leaving the blank ones behind, "But I am not canon Sasori and I plan on not dying. Canon Sasori didn't have many friends and was increasingly lonely and bored, I'm used to being a recluse for weeks to finish projects. I'll be bored anyway, why not spend that time working on plans?"

All in all, it would be a better use of his time instead of spending it feeling sorry for himself. By no means does he approve of shinobi parenting techniques—Chiyo, why would you do that to your grandson?—but he's an adult and this works in his favor.

Also, he's totally going to have a better relationship with his grandma, she's practically the last close family member he has left, he doesn't know what relationship he has with his great uncle.

Alright, things are definitely looking up! Puppetry falls under his passion for art, it's a combination of sculpture and...engineering.

Oh god.

There will have to be math...and...and...no. Not math!

He'll avoid that the best he can, he'll just use his visualizing skills instead...hopefully that'll work.

What else did Canon Sasori do other than puppets? Poison? Plants! Plants are great, plants make great substitutes for human company, he can get a whole bunch of poisonous ones and grow them in his room. Besides, making poisons can be comparable to cooking, right? He's pretty good at cooking.

Hopefully, poison-making is like cooking.

Breath in, breath out, he's five, no five-year-old should worry too much about poisons. Well, unless they live in a shinobi village, but he didn't have that Before. Eh, might as well adapt to the mindset, if he wants to live or become anything he'll have to drop his old morals like they're going out of fashion.

Because here? They are totally not fashionable.

Anyway, it's still his first day, he can read the scrolls and stuff later, maybe tomorrow? He shuts the second drawer too, opening the third and last one on the bottom.

This one is filled with paint.

Paint.

Praise the Deities that might exist.

He found paint, even if he didn't have brushes he could still fingerpaint.

He's going to paint his walls right now, Chiyo's potential disapproval be damned.

Popping open the first can of blue, he wonders what he should paint on his wall, it's funny how a character known for dying sand red with blood will now be obsessed with the color blue.

Sasori like blue now, it doesn't matter what his previous preferences for colors are, it's not like it will kill someone if he likes blue instead of red. Besides, no one knew if he actually liked red in canon.

His first masterpiece in this new world should be one memorializing the person he used to be. Sasori will change, that is unavoidable and he accepts it with open arms, but that doesn't mean he has to forget. He doesn't have to act like nothing happened or force himself to be someone he isn't. Sasori will just be unapologetically himself and canon will just have to deal.

And it will start with this painting.

The next one should be on his parents. Both pairs, an apology for not being there for them and one for not really being their son.

The final one will be something when he figures out what he wants to paint. Maybe he'll paint the fourth wall too, time will tell.

Wait, what about a galaxy on the ceiling? He'd always wanted to do that and it'll be so cool! He can paint the floors too! Maybe he'll do something about the closet he hasn't looked through yet as well.

"I hope Grandma doesn't murder me when I go wild on that poor wall," Sasori dips a brush in a sky blue, "I am completely unrepentant."

An hour later:

"Sasori? I thought you were...sleeping?"

He turns around to see Grandma in the doorway of his room, her eyes wide and gaping like a fish. Sasori looks down on his paint-covered hands and clothing, oddly content that at least one factor of his life is now normal.

He's absolutely covered in paint, as it should be.

"Hello, Grandma. Look what I did." Sasori gestures with a brush on the wall, purposefully getting more blue paint on himself.

"Sasori."

"Yes, Grandma?" Maybe this was a bad idea, Sasori intimately remembers how this Chiyo is—was?—a formidable kunoichi in her own right.

"You will go bathe right now."

"But Grandma, I'm not finished." He's not whining, he's an adult.

"Right now, I'll get you clothes that you can paint in after I lecture you on not getting more paint on yourself than the wall!"

"Right. Okay. Where is the bathroom?" Oh, she's not going to stop him from painting?

"Ah, I forgot you don't remember where that is. This is the second time today I'm showing you a bathroom, huh?"

Perhaps it was just a trick of the light or maybe it was the fumes from his paint…

But he could have sworn a tear slid down his Grandma's weary cheek as a faint relieved smile displaced the deep-set wrinkles around her mouth.

I can't decide between making this crack or actually serious or maybe both.

Help.

Anyway, I was inspired to write more of this. If you're wondering, yes, this new Sasori is basically me but ten times more exasperated with life.

(I've always wanted to paint my walls. The random finger-painted abstract art doesn't count.)

Chapter 591: the towel by the waist.

Chapter 591.

At night, shi cai ning walked out of the bathroom. gu kuangen had already washed up in the guest room. his hair was wet and fell on his forehead. droplets of water dripped down. he took a dry towel and wiped his hair.

Shi cai ning sat down. before he could find the towel, he walked over and placed the big towel on her head. "i'll wipe it for you."

Gu kuangen had been so busy these past few days that no one could be seen. almost every night, he would only return after she had fallen asleep.

Shi cai ning's expression eased up. her gaze landed on his chest. there were two faint red marks. she guessed that he must have kicked her while sparring with li ting.

She furrowed her brows. her heart felt a little uncomfortable but also a little sweet. this man did not hesitate to face li ting shen for her sake. if something really happened to him, what would happen to her...

Thinking of this, shi cai ning raised her pair of white hands and gently caressed the red spot.

There were two shallow wounds on his chest. it was not too obvious, but it could be seen.

These were the wounds that the man had cut on the boat. now that they were scarred, they landed on his originally perfect chest. it was a little sinister!

As the morning sunlight peeked within the curtain and irradiated on Evan's face, a slight groan left his lips. He turned to his side and found Daniella dozing tightly.  
He simpered, slowly got up and looked around.  
Last night, he didn't get to have the chance to look around but the bedroom has the sweet vanilla smell of Daniella while the design differed her personality.  
The white walls with Daisy flower prints looked almost real, even the leaves on the wall seemed to have been drawn by a great artist, it almost alive giving the room a serene ambiance.  
A spacious room which almost twice of the master bedroom in the Su Villa, and he's standing in the middle next to the soft bed he slept on.  
He bit his lips to prevent his smile from widening when he saw the couch with their muddy clothes on.  
He walked towards it and picked them up and then entered the bathroom – the place where they stayed for a long time last night.  
He looked around and found a basket, he put the dirty clothes inside and looked at his reflection through the glass wall of the shower.  
The quietness of the place was deafening, yet it didn't bother him instead it gave a peaceful feeling inside of him.  
He got out of the bathroom after putting his robe. Carefully, he walked out of the room.  
His feet touched the softness of the fur carpet on the floor, he looked down and found that it was not a typical fur from the animal, 'what is this?' he asked himself and ran his finger on it.  
He straightened up, from all the stress last night he forgot that he hasn't eaten.  
As he tried to find the kitchen, sweat appeared on his forehead in big pieces. From the hallway to the stairs, the place was giving him a strange vibe, unlike what he felt in the bedroom.  
The place was huge, the wideness of the hallway was almost the same size as a normal road - wide and empty, even the wall has nothing than the white paint.  
He gulped hard and halted when he reached the last step of the stairs. His expression hardened to see machines moving around the house quietly.  
He focused at the circular machine on the wall moving up, and down sucking all the dust on the wall.  
When he turned to his left and he found a door. He walked towards it in big steps. When he opened the door, it snapped, the sound was faint but it echoed around.  
He rubbed his eyes, blinked when he found a huge room with so much furniture, unlike the hallway. He walked inside, from the looked of it, seemed like it's the living room.  
It has a traditional western style living room and the huge wall glass was giving so much light inside, it was like having a living room outside. 
He felt a disturbing feeling in his stomach so he walked out and went to the next door he found.  
Relief flooded his mind when he finally found the kitchen. If he knew that the place was as big as this, he would have asked Daniella for a map.  
He walked towards the refrigerator, as he pulled the door opened, his eyes swelled.  
Evan froze as he stared at the animal that suddenly appeared from the refrigerator.  
'Is this poisonous?' he asked himself.  
The hiss of the snake made every hair on his skin to crawl, and when the head of the snake stretched, his face whitened. 
'Damn it! It's a cobra' he cursed inside.  
He stared at the snake while the animal did the same. Both of them were waiting for each other's movement.  
He knew that if he closes the refrigerator door. it will smash half of the snake body but, what if the snake bites him first?   
He gulped hard, his hand was about to move and smash the door when Daniella's voice sounded from behind.  
"I was looking all over for you."  
Hearing her voice, Evan didn't think twice and grabbed her wrist. He ran out of the kitchen dragging Daniella with him.  
"Why are we running?" Daniella asked as she obediently followed him.  
"There's a cobra in the kitchen, it's small which means he has his parents around," Evan said in a hurry.  
When they reached the stairs, he halted and pulled her closer.  
"Should we call animal control? It's too dangerous-"  
His tongue froze as he stared at Daniella. Fear blanched his face as he watched the cobra rolling its body around Daniella's neck.  
Before the snake could bite Daniella, Evan grabbed it swiftly and gestured to throw it but, the snake encircled its body around his arm and feeling its bumpy skin has made him shriek.  
"ugh! Daniella run!" he shouted at her while fighting so hard to remove the snake in his arm.  
Suddenly the snake stopped with his head in the air and body around Evan's arm. With fear rushing in his body, Evan felt as if the snake was smiling at him wickedly.  
He felt his world stopping when the snake suddenly bit his arm, he felt the pangs of the animal scraping his skin.  
His knowledge about snakes was almost nothing but, he knew very well that a poisonous snake can kill a person.   
Out of nowhere, the snake disappeared in his arm, he looked at his side and found Daniella holding the head of the snake.  
"hey! Why did you bite my boyfriend? Do you want to be my dinner?" Daniella shouted at the snake and slapped its head.  
The snake hissed at her, seemed like Daniella provoked the small animal.  
"Do you want another slap?" Daniella snarled and after that, the snake withdrew from gesturing to bite her and swirled around her arm like it was a cat.  
Daniella smirked and lowered the snake down to the floor when she turned to Evan, she found him sitting on the stairs observing the bite in his arm.  
Inside, Daniella wanted to laugh. She settled next to him and took his arm. Without a word, she sucked the bite mark as if she's sucking a straw.

"get going!" he commanded. In the beginning it would offend me when he commanded me like that, I was not a thing that he could use at his disposal much less order me around. In the beginning I was foolish and naïve. He stole my innocence and made me his broken toy that he would use whenever he wanted. 
We went up the stairs and when we got to the top I used the keys to unlock the rusted padlock that was keeping the trap door closed. I pushed on the old wooden trap door, briefly exploring the groves in the wood, its rough texture, and the stench of paint that coated the other side. 
I pushed the door open and we emerged through to the other side. I glanced around the room that we had just entered, it was an older room on the far south of the house the only way to get into the room was to go through Mr. Monroe's office and through the locked door that enters into this room. He loved his locks, they were meant as a precaution to keep me in and locked up. He saw me as a prize and as well as I should be. Wolves are difficult to locate and much more difficult to trap, he got lucky with me as I was just a child who hadn't yet turned. 
Our kind typically do not developed their abilities until their first change after they've hit puberty.
Mr. Monroe kept me weak so he could over power me, It helped stop me from making my first change into my wolf, and it prevented me from escaping and made me more susceptible to his abuse.
Mr. Monroe pushed me towards the door that lead to his office, today he had left it unlocked, it seems like his guard is down but he does things like this just so he can toy with me. I opened the door and stepped into his office, his office was cluttered with bookshelves covered from top to bottom in tombs. The scent of cigar smoke clung to the air and invaded my nostrils. I grimaced at the smell. I hate this place.
"Let's go," he demanded in his deep booming voice. He pressed his hand further into my back, guiding me into the hall in front of me. We walked through the hall, passing the living room, I stole a glanced into the living room as we were passed by it. It had 2 brown couches, a flat screen TV on the far wall and in the corner of the room lied a mess of children's toys.
A lump caught in my throat as I stared at the toys but the moment didn't last long as I was forced forward into the bathroom that was at the end of the hall.
He followed me into the bathroom, I looked into the mirror in front of us  and saw him smiling behind me with an evil intent in his eyes. I dropped the keys that I still held in my hand as  I knew what was coming next and I was never ready for it.

Cora was banned from dream catching for a while. She told the HQ and they said she could take a few days off which her mom accepted. Her mom would have liked her to be off more but she is the only one who does this job. Her schedule was one of a normal girl now but she still didn't sleep. She studied for her school and texted Nathan. He was on her side in the matter, work was just getting hard and she couldn't quit because of it! Either way her mom was the boss and dad was overseas and didn't even know about her job.

              Surprisingly she was told there were no dreams that night anyway. No nightmares either. Nathan also found it strange. She didn't trust the menflexes or what they were planning. They had to be planning something strange or maniacal. Or both. Either way it was bound to be interesting, unlike the rest of her day. She went t o the library to do more eraser h found out about the ten types for menflexes and took a few notes. There were Ortexs which enhance negative emotions, and Gahtas which collect dreams, as fuel, and information which she already knew. Along with those there were Rayisis' that are big a meant for destruction. Most commonly for dream material.  There were 7 more but she figured she would read them tomorrow, since she had today and night, tomorrow and night, and then next day. It had been a while since she painted so it seemed like a good time to continue. She checked her list for who has requested what and when and grabbed her paint.

                  They knew she had been on break so she wasn't necessarily late but she was slowed by emailing them back. The first to respond was Mrs. Lavena who wanted a book butterfly on the library. "Convenient" she thought and headed over to re check out her book and get to work. The book butterfly was huge with dimensions of 3 yards by 4. She collected her pay which she just donated back and headed to the high school. The principal had been asking for a a large dragon on the main hall's wall, their mascot. Few kid from her class said hi and asked where she had been. Apparently the Ortex only works when they are in the room. 
        
                   "You don't have to pretend to like me Mackenzie" Cora snappishly replied to the popular girls. They were rude and obnoxious anyway.
                   "Oh thank you this facade was getting tiresome, why are you working anyway don't you get tons of money from you daddy?" They laughed.
                    "Yea yea laugh at the girl who's dad is in the army.."
                    "Ugh not that 'daddy' idiot just look at you your practically asking for it" they replied rudely. Cora's face got red they not with embarrassment.
                   "Speak for yourself unlike you I work for my money! You get yours from your boyfriend, oh by the way which one are you on now? Your 7th?" By now kids had gathered watching the argument. 
                   "At least I have one, and what is your job hooking up with old guys? I've seen your pay! What job gives you 500 dollars a week at this age?"
                    "Oh yea that reminds me I just got my pay yesterday, 20 thousand if I'm correct. And for your information I almost died after my job last time, twice! I  was carried home unconscious!" That shut her up, for a little bit. People around were at a full halt and now curious themselves. They however ignored the rest
                    "20 thousand! Wow you must have caught a big fish huh? And with those looks that impressive. With those clothes I would have never guessed!" That was the last straw for Cora . She took her spray paint and squirted it all over Mackenzie and her friends.
                     "These are my work clothes, sadly that isn't your case now if you could leave. I'm trying to work!" 

                    Mackenzie ran off to the bathroom, clothes ruined and she got back to work. The bell range and kids rushed to class praising her as they passed. By the time the next bell range for them to go to their next class Cora was picking up and getting ready to leave. While cleaning up her paint cans she heard the noisy approval of the kids  behind her. She turned to see kids taking pictures asking for her to be in it. She obliged and sat beside her dragon covered in splashes of paint. The principal came to give her her money. A 200 in total, 2 hours of work times the 80 bucks an hour and the 40 dollars of supplies. Not bad but she had enough money and she threw up the money for people to catch. She yelled behind her "see you next week" and left.

                    By the time she got to her final stop for the day it was around 7. She finished to flower for the floral bouquet shop. She headed come so she wouldn't be late. Her mom was in the kitchen and told her to wash up so they could watch a movie. Cora knew she was just trying to apologize in her own way. She took a shower and they watched her favorite movie. She anger toward her mom faded and started to wish every night was like this. But her mom was usually busy and so was she.

            Cora texted with Nathan the rest of the night not tired like normal people. They went back and forth until morning where she got back to her research.
