Abe Satoru grew up there, found love, rose through the Federation's ranks, rebelled against the Federation, became their most wanted criminal, fought his last battle, and died.

Twenty months later, the Human Federation, found out he was an houseman on Earth and he had lost his memories.

After votes were casted by the Federal Council members, the Federation Elite Force Commander was ordered to recruit Satoru.

Will Satoru be able to rise through the Federation's rank again or will he regain his memories and rebel, just like before?

After leaving the mech stables occupied by the Mudriders, Ves payed a visit to the facility that held the Avatars of Myth.

Melkor already used the budget provided by Ves to good use. The mech stables looked like a bunker that could withstand a lot more punishment than the one he visited before. It had also been built on top of a collapsible tunnel that led to an underground network.

"Ves." Melkor greeted him as he arrived. "I believe you have met the Oodis Mudriders?"

"They look like they have something to prove."

"You can't trust what you see. They purposely put their best foot forward." Melkor admonished him as he led him past the mechs of his own personal force.

They all looked decent, but the two gold label Blackbeaks took the crown. The two offensive knights radiated a subtle flavor that spoke of bloodthirst and anticipation. Ves mentally nodded in satisfaction. Their X-Factor should enhance the two mechs by a small but noticeable margin.

After finishing the small tour, Melkor led Ves to an underground command center of some sorts. A dozen or so new hires staffed the various workstations in the highly secure chamber. Ves recognized them as part of his own personal force due to the temporary uniforms they wore that matched Melkor's own.

His cousin seemed to have opted for a sober black uniform of stiff high-quality fabric along with touches of blue. The uniform gave those who wore them a lot of stature, and Ves approved of the look. Perhaps he would instruct Melkor to turn permanent.

"This is our first command center. Here, we will coordinate our surface defense. There are other command centers underground, but it's not necessary to use them yet. The chances that the Vesians are bringing tunneling machines are very low."

In the middle of the command center hovered a projection of the star system and the Mech Nursery's vicinity.

"From our latest observations, the Vesian combat carriers are making swift progress to the inner system. They'll arrive in orbit in about eleven hours. That's very short, and we don't have enough time to bolster our defenses."

Ves studied the space plot and traced the trajectory of the Vesian ships. "Is there any way to threaten their ships?"

"No. I've already made some inquiries and it's impossible for us to damage them. They're very well-guarded by an entire company of spaceborn mechs. As you know, the Mech Corps isn't maintaining any garrisons in this star system. Instead, the job of defending the system and planet is left to Walter's Whalers."

"I see."

Even with their recent windfalls, it took time for the Whalers to train competent mech pilots anc acquire new mechs. This raid happened way too soon for the Whalers to put a strong resistance. Ves did not forget that they lost a lot of mech pilots in the Glowing Planet campaign.

Ves also had a first-hand look at how they operated back then. Typical for gangs, battles in space was not their strong suit. They much preferred to operate on land, as that was more intuitive and required less brain power to understand.

In order to excel in space like a true spaceborn fighting force, the Whalers would need to hire a lot of ship captains and mech officers who understood orbital mechanics and other highly technical knowledge.

Let alone orbital mechanics, Ves doubted that the average gang member learned how to count past ten.

"Okay, it's hopeless to contest the Vesians in space, but the Whalers are much better off on the ground, right?"

Melkor nodded. "That's one thing that's gone right. Dietrich has been in touch with us and they've promised to defend Freslin and the Mech Nursery, depending on where the Vesians planned to strike. However, he did warn us that while the mechs are much better than what they used to have, the mech pilots are mostly green and untested. They won't be able to stand their ground in a pitched battle."

That meant instead of relying on the Whalers to be the main force that blunted the Vesian spearhead, they could only be employed to perform less critical roles.

Ves let out a grunt in frustration. "Seems like everyone is doing their best to shirk responsibility for the most arduous task. Will Sanyal-Ablin do their jobs at least?"

"They've informed me that they are committed to fulfill their contracts, and for once, I believe them. The credibility of SASS as a whole is on the line here."

That meant that the Mech Nursery could at least depend on a core of twenty-four very capable mechs to hold the line. At least the LMC got their money's worth in that regard.

The defense picture started to become clear to Ves. He looked at the map that showed the Mech Nursery and its surroundings. Ves chose to plant the highly defensible manufacturing complex in a complex forest environment tens of kilometers away from Freslin.

This was near enough for his employees to live in the second-largest city of Cloudy Curtain and commute to the Mech Nursery every day. It was also far enough away from the city that attack on the Mech Nursery would not pull in innocent bystanders.

Melkor swiped his finger at the star-shaped walls of the Mech Nursery. "The Vesians have come to raid our location, so they won't be wasting time on whittling us down. Standard Vesian doctrine calls for concentrating their force and breaching our defense line in a single powerful push. This strategy works well enough against most company-own premises."

Inside the complex, Sanyal-Ablin's mechs and weapon emplacements formed a stiff defense, especially against missiles and aerial threats.

"We've got a lot of turrets."

"Don't depend on them to repel two entire companies of Vesian mechs. They're mostly employed for anti-air duty. If the Vesians are stupid enough to fly a mech over our heads, every turret will be able to draw a bead on such an exposed target."

It was a little more problematic for the turrets to target landbound mechs. In addition, they made for very obvious targets. Their complete lack of mobility easily turned them into punching bags for agile mechs that could dodge the incoming turret fire.

"Well, the Vesians won't drop down on top of us at the very least." Ves consoled himself. "So if I'm reading this map correctly, the SASS mechs will hold the wall while the Whaler reinforcements will wait at the outskirts of Freslin?"

"That's correct. The Whalers are obliged to defend their citizens first in case the Vesians split. If the raiding force doesn't decide to hit Freslin, then the Whaler mechs will be departing in our direction and hit the Vesians from the flanks."

That sounded identical to what the Oodis Mudriders requested. The difference was that Ves knew that the quality of the mech pilots from the Whalers precluded them from being employed in the most difficult position.

"I see. That's why you're so adamant that the Oodis Mudriders join the Sanyal-Ablin mechs on the walls. We don't have too many front-facing resistance otherwise."

Melkor nodded his head but let out a breath in concern. "Really Ves, you could have spent more time and resources on bolstering your defences. Rushing the construction of the Mech Nursery helped a lot, but the base builders haven't completely finished building all of the systems that makes this complex defensible."

"Well, I can't help the timing of the 3rd Imodris Legion. Who is leading that unit?"

"A descendant of the Duchess of Imodris named Lady Amalia. She's young and way down the line of suggestion, so she's certainly set out to make a name for herself."

That sounded really bad for Cloudy Curtain and the rest of the Bentheim region. Two types of leaders typically took charge of the Vesian legions. The most common type would be career officers, who mostly inherited the position from their parents. They were much like the Larkinsons in that they possessed a strong military heritage.

It was the other type of leader that posed a huge threat to the LMC. Mech legions led by ambitious heirs often did whatever it took to earn military merits. At the highest level of non-royal nobility, the fight to inherit a dukedom often led to lots of tears.

"Okay, if it's someone like Lady Amalia, then we can expect the Vesian raiding force won't be cowed by our defenses." Ves recalled the few instances where he witnessed the Vesians in battle.

One particular moment stood out. It was when the fleets of the Mech Legion and Mech Corps temporary banded together to escape the Glowing Planet. Once they shook off the pirates, their fleeting reticence quickly dissolved, and both sides started slinging punches at each other without any regard for caution.

Melkor laid down the most pressing issue. "Twenty-four mechs from Sanyal-Ablin will hold the walls. The squad of mechs under my command will stay back as a reserve. The thirty mechs sent by the Whalers will approach the Vesians from the direction of Freslin once they've committed to the assault."

That amounted to sixty-three mechs, which sounded deceptively impressive. In truth, Ves would be a fool to assume they would all be completely willing to commit to the fight.

The Whaler mechs especially formed the most unstable element. They could only be used as a distraction as best.

The Vesians definitely wouldn't expose any weaknesses for them to exploit. While their nobles often fought among themselves, their individual unit cohesion was extremely high.

Therefore, the lynchpin of the defense of the Mech Nursery rested on the role of the Oodis Mudriders.

"Will the Oodis Mudriders really be useful if they stand the line?"

"Definitely. Don't mistake them for being only good for skirmishing maneuvers. A mercenary corps of that caliber won't leave any gaps in the training of their mech pilots. Besides, the Mech Nursery's premises are large enough that they can still run around as much as they want to inside our defensive perimeter."

"Alright, so they'll definitely be useful if they defend the Mech Nursery from the inside. But won't they be more effective if we accept Commander Husaan's request to let them range outside the perimeter?"

Melkor conceded that point. "That's true, but this isn't a situation where everyone gets what they want. The Vesians are upon us in less than half a standard day, and we only have so many mechs to go around. You have to realize that the Vesians will attempt to breach the walls in a single go with all they got. It's vitally important we contain that initial push, and that requires a lot more than the twenty-four mechs than what Sanyal-Ablin is offering."

"Well, we've also got the Avatars of Myth."

"Ves, don't tell me what to do." Melkor curtly rebuked Ves. "Even though the Vesians are likely to employ the direct approach, there's always the chance they'll sneak around or pull of something else. A reserve is always needed to provide against contingencies, and they also need to be some of our best and most reliable people. No one else but my Avatars can fulfill this role."

This left a fairly bleak picture for the Mech Nursery's defense. Melkor truly convinced him of the necessity to leash the Mudriders to the walls. Commander Husaan and the rest of the mercenaries wouldn't be glad to hear that, but the mercenary contract they signed with the LMC didn't leave them many options for refusal.

"Seeing as you've failed to convince them, I guess I'll go ahead and talk to Commander Husaan myself." Ves replied and turned to leave the command center. "Do you have any suggestions on how to handle the Mudriders?"

"They're a disgraced mercenary corps. Those who remained care a lot about their own honor. As career mercenaries, the thing they hate the most is retiring in ignomy with a permanent black mark on their records. Maybe you can use their honor against them. I'm not the most silver-tongued person, so I haven't been able to do that myself. I hope you have better luck."

"Hah." Ves smirked. "As if I'm any better. It's more like my mouth is made of wood."

Humanity has conquered half the galaxy and the Age of Mechs reigns supreme!

Ves Larkinson lacked the genetic aptitude to become a famed mech pilot. Fighting against his fate, he studied mech design in order to express his love for mechs as a builder instead of a soldier.

When Ves graduated from college, he returned to a new but empty boutique. Left with a small, newly founded mech workshop that his father painstakingly built with a mountain of debt, Ves somehow needs to make ends meet with the bank breathing down his neck.

In the midst of his despair, he found salvation from another legacy his father had left.

"Welcome to the Mech Designer System. Please design your new mech."

"Now—" Erben delayed as he thereafter turned around, knitting his brows in confusion.
The form of that bird-like magical creature did no longer exist right there as though it had vanished.
—Where did that beast go?
They had previously used the necessary prayers to block any teleportation magic in that area and therefore preventing the wizard to run away. So why was there no trace of that being?
"Can it be..." he pondered, "After the death of a wizard, the beasts summoned by the wizard also die? What if that being is not dead yet?"
Erben didn't have any clue about the correctness of those thoughts, nor could he afford any other information to answer his questions; the details weren't enough to be useful for that job. He really regretted the decision that he had made. He truly had no idea about an ability like this in the magical creatures. As a paladin, letting even one single enemy run from him would, without question, be indefensible. The withdrawal of a foe — especially in a battle like that — would lead to nothing except the leak of information about their strategies and powers. Thus, he wished he had finished off the beast first, instead of killing the wizard straightaway. 
Notwithstanding there could be no actual excuse for his negligence, yet what could he do without the genuine understanding of the enemy's abilities? Erben had to take responsibility for whatever he had done unnecessarily, and what more important actions which he hadn't. More importantly, he had to report every single moment of his fight against the wizard; this would help the Church and the holy warriors in the forthcoming battles. Having sufficient data about the enemy's capabilities and skills meant fighting in an advantageous position against them, thus holding the upper hand in the upcoming combats.
The rain — the spell of that magician — didn't come to an end, though the caster of it had already died. Erben expected a spell to subsequently and immediately fade away by the death of its caster. But the touch of the rain on his skin remained nevertheless, as the shrouded sky, hidden by the enormous dark cloud covers, still prevented the deep red glows of the sun to be cast over the city.
"So, why is it still continuing to rain? Truly... the ignorance is the worst. I should report this too..."
Followed by a deep sigh, he pursed his lips thoughtfully.
"Well, is it possible that there are some specific spells, which do not end with the death of the caster? The wizards... We should gather more information about them, so the next time such a mess won't happen again."
He simply ignored the continuous rain by those words, looking at the other priests afterward. Among that great flying army, a youthful man — dressed in pure black soutane — began landing near Erben from the air.
"You were glorious sir!" he praised, "Congratulations for your victory!"
"This victory belongs to all of us," Erben remarked, "You also worked hard."
"Without your help, sir, we would never win this battle."
"You did your job. You did what you could. And that's enough."
"Thanks, sir."
"Also," Erben added, "the magical beast, which you defeated has apparently vanished; peradventure it's an ability, which we are yet to understand. I apologize; it was my carelessness that I didn't consider such a possibility."
"Please, there's no need for you to apologize, sir. It's our neglect that we didn't finish it off in the first place. But hadn't we used the [Teleportation Obstruction] to preclude any teleportation magic?"
"I said, we still don't know how this being vanished; it may not be teleportation."
"Then, how?"
"It's not my job to find out. We'll just report what we've seen to the Church plus handling them the corpses; the information squad will take care of the research by studying the evidence. You're also a member of that division, aren't you?"
"Yes sir, I'm serving under the command of Paladin Misthorn."
"I see..."
The young-looking priest had been soaked from top to bottom; there was no way to run from getting drenched under such heavy massive rain. Even though the priests had used [Protection Aura] to evade the touches of these magical drops, yet that short time under the rain was enough for their cassocks to get completely sodden.
This youthful priest who stood before Erben had long russet brown hairs, which appeared thoroughly saturated.
"Sir, am I able to share my thoughts about that beast?"
"What's that?" Erben gave a curious look.
"I noticed something about that magical entity. It looked similar to the holy Sirins."
—He's right; why didn't I notice it earlier?
"Now you mentioned it... Yeah, it's right."
Sirins were the holy entities whom the summoning priests could use in the battles. However, the number of holy warriors with that skill declined over time until only a few people could actually summon such creatures.
"Don't forget to mention this to Zeatser. Furthermore, I leave everything here to you, there's still something, which I have to perform."
"Of course, sir! We'll work hard to not disappoint you."

The life of the Lord's servants and the children of God should be pledged to the divinity as a sign of their absolute obligation, which is why humankind has to spend the time they have to serve the god of the world by the prayers and the endeavors in the way he desires.
Since it was the priests' ideology, they — who were well-known in the world of men as the obedient children of the divinity — would spend their limited lifetime to praise the perfection of deity. They thought of their creator as a merciful and loving father who absolutely cared about his sons.
Becoming old and older is a result of existing in a mortal world; therefore, even for them it would be impossible to avoid death; it was an end to those efforts, which they had done as praise for the Lord's ascendancy. Although the senescence process in the living creatures would result in the onset of senility, the deterioration didn't cause any difference in their spirituality; they nevertheless couldn't run from the consequent external signs of aging.
Moreover, not everyone has the same level of aptitude; in fact, the number of talented individuals didn't seem significant at all, so the brilliance of the minority appeared considerable and remarkable. Consequently, most of the Lord's servants had to try really hard to achieve an acceptable degree of spiritual servitude; it thus would take a lot of time from their finite life.
With these explanations, one could easily understand why almost all of them looked aged, white-haired and extremely wrinkly. Apparently, attempting to not dissatisfy the expectations had given them a hard time; spending all of your life to achieve something that you don't have an adequate talent in it, would surely make you end up like this.
Nonetheless, there existed a few persons who looked younger than the majority of that countless group of priests. However, one of them appeared to be quite young in that preponderance of the agedness.
Any eye could notice the age difference, which he had from the other priests, just by looking at that young appearance; one would estimate his age around twenty. The soutane cloth that he was wearing had concealed the eye-catching build of his; looking at those strong muscles would leave anyone wide-eyed and astonished in praise.
But the incredible power, which he had possessed, didn't just end in mere physical strength and physique. By becoming closer to that sensible aura of energy around this person, his immense spiritual force could easily be perceived.
This young-looking priest had a name: He was Bruno Astafelon, a third-rank holy knight in the information squad of the Church under the command of Zeatser Misthorn.
Without a doubt, he was one of those talented sons of God who could reach higher levels of Spirituality in less time than the rest of the people. However, if someone thought of this young priest to be surprisingly powerful, that person would definitely — and even more — be shocked by understanding the existence of the "other" presence near him; it belonged to a quite old man dressed in a golden armor, who had stood beside him under the heavy rain. In fact, the superiority of that old man was absolutely unquestionable either in rank or sheer power.
Bruno knelt down as his superior began to fly toward the sky and leave the wet earth, causing a mighty splash because of that strong flight force.
As the higher presence was getting far away from there, he looked at his side. A bloody corpse was there on the ground; even the rainstorm couldn't clean the gore on that spot. The head of that dead body was horribly crushed, so identifying this person by looking at this struck face would be totally impossible.
That outrageous scene didn't cause any change in his expression; the horrible death of a wizard wouldn't bother him, not even in the least. What had actually made him abstracted and uneasy was something else — the lost lives of those innocent students.
The fallen body of the wizard didn't make any sensible change on the other priests' face, either. Nobody would expect any other result anyhow; not even a single individual out of all of them would consider the defeat of Erben Whisperwinds as a plausible outcome, so seeing the wizard's corpse in that condition didn't seem something unexpected or astonishing for them.
By knowing the fact that they would never show any kind of sympathy to the enemies of God, it could be said that the look of worry on their face had another source — exactly same as Bruno's.
Apart from the mistake which had led to that bloodshed inside of the school, the outside combat also had an important impact on their minds; thousands of corpses from their comrades in that fight could be found everywhere near that area. Was it really necessary to bring this army? Couldn't Paladin Erben finish it himself? Did everything have to end up like that? The death of their fellows, the massacre of those innocent souls, were all of these needed to happen? Couldn't they avoid such terrible consequences?
Those questions didn't leave their fatigued brains even though they had reached the victory; nonetheless, they had to accept everything as the will of Almighty God whose divine plans were regarded as absolute. The Church wouldn't do anything dispensable since they are the wise servants of God. Besides, the Lord would never leave their side as he was the savior of them. So there should be a reason behind it after all.
Their foe had just been defeated by the mighty hands of a paladin, though that dejected look of theirs didn't belong to a victor. They had doubt about the necessity of what they had done and the successfulness of the battle in the end. Had they actually won?
The minutes passed and let them be less absorbed in thinking about such facts; being aware of God's might blinded their eyes against the questions. Only one answer remained acceptable in their mind, and it was: "Who I am to judge the merciful Lord. God has a plan for all of us, a reason for everything."
Therewith they put their hands together, as the prayers rose through the wet air to reach the higher Heavens, demanding a blessing for the innocent souls, and the soldiers of God withal.
"Merciful Father, open the gates of life for those who believe in you. Let your light be the guidance they need. For those who are saved by the death of our Lord and pass from death into a new life, for those who can't be parted from you, be merciful upon them. Let them live in Heaven with joy and peace, forever and ever. Amen."
The glory of the sun's light shined through the air as the rain stopped; the dark clouds faded from the sight of the sky, allowing a clear picture of the azure atmosphere become visible, and the dazzling brightness of Sun to catch the eyes of its observers. The rays of the brilliance contemporaneously brightened the blackened ground as they cleared the air from the evil traces of Magic.
The wizard — the caster of that spell — had died. Therefore, such an end would naturally come since the spell could no more stay stable because of the loss of a Magical Force behind it as a source.
The battle was finally over, albeit not their jobs. Many other tasks remained for them to perform. From the beginning of the battle, they had understood the consequent effects of the fight against that wizard, which would bring trouble later.
Bringing the bodies of their comrades to the Church for the sanctification, cleaning the existence of those dead students, erasing the memories of their parents and families, it truly looked troublesome — such a terrible mess. At least, winning the fight would lessen their despondency. Losing the battle while causing those horrible subsequent results would never be justifiable.
Bruno felt the warmth of the sun on his skin; the questions and doubts, which he had, disappeared from his mind therewith. The light of the Heavens shaded his eyes against the true feelings of his heart, sealing it with the glorious image of the golden brightness.
The other priests had already started their jobs, though Bruno was still inert on where he had stood. When he decided to join them in gathering the corpses of his fellows, a sudden sound forced him to pause his movements and look around in bewilderment.
A warm, full-bodied voice could be heard as it had softly touched the lightened air with its melody.
"The Fallen Angels! Rise from your chains; show these fools the power of the Heavens!"
It was loud, yet so soft and rich. Although the sweet mellow tones of this call had filled everywhere near there, everyone heard it exactly as same as the others. Normally, a sound would lose the original volume, which it had possessed, by traveling through the air and making more distance from the source. That said, this stunning tuneful voice sounded so stable and pure.
Bruno couldn't tell where it was coming from since that space had completely been dominated by the magnificence of this heavenly voice.
—What... what was that?

Departing from Stockholm I soared over the Baltic Sea with my current speed I can make it to Romania in 40 minutes but my only concern now is if I can make it in time. Within these past few months not only have my stats increased but so has my bloodline. Then along with my bloodline, I also go a convenient innate ability.

 It's [flight] just as the name goes I can fly in the air without external support, it's just that it takes practice. After spending nine months in the labyrinth I was able to gain acceptable mastery of this ability. The more I awaken my bloodline the fast I can fly, that's the conclusion I came up with since whenever I rose the percentage on my bloodline I seemed to gain some more speed in this ability.

 Sadly not only does my unawoken bloodline hinder my [flight] ability it also prevents me from forming my Knight's Order since in order to 'create' a new knight I need to use primordial energy. The reason for this is because the words of power used in the chant will not only activate the skill but also strengthen the bodies of my knights. As for my current knight candidates, I have Kuroka, Shirone, Yasaka, and my four guardians. I originally wanted to add Irina but because of what happened I don't want to think of that right now.

 As for the list of candidates it could be bigger it's just I haven't met any of them yet so I can't be certain that I can get them on my side. The system wouldn't give me a clear answer on what happens to the individual once they become my knight but I can tell that they'll gain a lot of power once they do.

 After around 30 minutes I felt I was getting closer to my target so I went over my stats once before picking up speed.

 Receiving the report through my comlink I continued my flight until I was blocked by a strong barrier. Breaking it would take a while, and if I use my magic and other attack methods I could break it at the expense of a portion of my reserves but I have a better idea. Moving a couple of meters away from the barrier I used my least used skill.

Yu - [King's Authority]

 Once I thought of using this skill 5 silver gates opened behind me and 5 big dragons came through. 4 of them were smaller than the fifth but when compared to the fifth these dragons were carrying around a hundred soldier on their backs. Their colors varied from grey to brown and they had 2 wings and four limbs. The classic western dragon.

 As for the biggest dragon it was similar to the eastern dragons with a snake-like body with two front arms. It was a cyan blueish color, and no soldiers were on its back there was only a single throne, this dragon was one of my guardians the Azure Dragon of the East. When I had first helped the Yokai I completed a secret quest that gave me 4 Pure Beast Spirit Fetuses.

 With the systems help, I was able to understand what a Pure Beast Spirit Fetuses. It was a beast spirit that had no bloodline or influence and I could choose what animal it would become. After some careful thinking, I gave the fetuses my blood because I had some primordial beast blood in it. Within one night those 4 fetuses became a small white tiger cub, a newborn phoenix, as small black turtle, and a small azure colored dragon.

 These beasts took upon the characteristics of the 4 primordial beast and what's more, Pure Beast Spirit Fetuses imprint on the first thing they see just like a real animal. Since they took their characteristic I named them after my skills Byakko, Suzaku, Genbu, and Seiryu.

 Within 4 months they had already become around 3 meters tall, then at 6 months, they began to speak to me through telepathy. At 8 months old they could transform into humans, and Genbu grew to 15 meters and Seiryu became larger than 30 meters. Their growth was tremendous and they had the strength reached that of a first tier Ultimate rank and would only get stronger the more they grew.

 An unexpected thing that happened though was when they were around 2 months old animals that would become their descendants began to appear in Haven and the system told me it was through their influence that this happened.

 Apparently, the energies produced from their bodies speed up the animal creation in Haven and thus while there are no human-like people being born in Haven there are now animals all throughout the area. 

 These four treated me as a father as well as a master and would do any order I commanded of them. I had previously sent them out with some operatives on multiple missions as humans, but now I wanted to make a show of the Tepes Faction as well as any other faction watching from the shadows.

 Don't F*** with Haven

 This wasn't just a rescue mission it was a warning to any would-be enemies in the shadows

Seiryu - [Master what is your command]

 Bowing his gigantic head I flew to the throne on it and then spoke while pointing at the barrier.

Yu - All of you, fire at this barrier I want it destroyed immediately.

Seiryu - [At your command]

Seiryu - RRRRAAAAWWWRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

Dragons - 4x RRRRAAAAWWWRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

 Letting out a thunder-like roar all of the dragons opened their mouths and beams of light shot from their mouths. Within seconds the barrier cracked and shattered to pieces.

 Looking upon the scenery beyond the barrier I saw an army of thousands trying to besiege a hillside encampment. The ones on the hill were my people who were making use of the many defense and attack runes provided for them, and the ones on the ground were trying to destroy to defense barrier.

 Any soldier that got close would be cut down by the two ultimate ranked operative on the ground, while the 4 high-ranked operatives were making use of attack runes to barrage the enemy army.

Yu - Looks like we made it in time.

 Everyone on the battlefield was shocked by our appearance and some started to despair when they saw Seiryu. The operatives, however, were delighted when they saw the Haven flag held by the soldier riding on the other dragons.

Yu - Assist our allies on the ground, leave no enemy alive!!! GO!!!!

Soldier - AAARRRGGHHHH!!!!!!

Dragons - 4x RRRRAAAAWWWRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

 At my command, all the dragons left for the battlefield but I had Seriyu stay behind.

Yu - Seriyu head to the Tepes Faction's main base if I'm not wrong it should be in the mountain range east the neighboring the Carmilla Faction. {A/N: Totally made that up I forgot if it was even mentioned so I just spitballed it}

Seriyu - [Understood]

 Leaving the main battlefield I made my way to the Tepes Faction's main base. Before long a medieval castle came into view. Sending a mental command I had Seriyu fire his dragon's breath on the walls and towers. Then with another command, I had him land on the ground.

 Looking at all the vampires running around trying to control the situation I smirked at them. Seriyu who had turned back into a human stay expressionless behind me as if the chaos around us didn't exist.

Yu - [This is what you get for kicking the dragon's tail]

 While walking towards the main building I saw a large group of vampires trying to block our way. They seemed to be ready to fight us to the death and Seriyu was about to engage them in my stead but I stopped him.

Seriyu - Master?

Yu - For guys like them you don't even need to fight.

 The strongest in the group was just a first tier high rank and wasn't a challenge to either of us but I had another idea in mind.

 Not stopping even when the vampires charged at me the shadow below my feet expanded and a full legion of black soldiers appeared from within.

Yu - Go and capture them for me.

 While they weren't strong they still had some uses for me so I might as well capture them.

Yu - Let the conquest begin.

Above the blue sky.
Two fighter jets soared through the sky, gliding back and forth between the clouds, leaving behind the roar of their engines.
Nie Yun was closely behind the other aircraft, and the missile targeting mechanism was locked on the fighter jet in front of him. He took a deep breath and pressed the launch button on his joystick. 
Right after, he heard a command from his headset.
"Target destroyed.
"Prepare for the next exercise."
I won!
Nie Yun sighed in relief and loosened his helmet. He then replied calmly, "Roger that."
They couldn't fire live ammunition in training exercises obviously. Instead, optoelectronic transmitting and receiving devices were installed on the fighter jets. The light beam emitted acted as substitute missiles. If the target was hit, the optoelectronic receiving device on the target would receive the signal and notify the ground command post. The aircraft that was "hit" would then exit the exercise.
Of course, this type of fighting simulation exercise was only one section of the entire training course. They had to complete the training course before they could touch down at the airbase.
After the ground command post announced that the losing jet had been shot down, the two fighter jets changed their formation and started to fly to their next designated airspace, in preparation for their next exercise.
Just when Nie Yun was mentally preparing himself for the next exercise, he heard a command in his ears.
"Exercise terminated, return immediately."
Exercise terminated?
Nie Yun paused for a second.
Even though he was surprised, he still replied calmly, "Roger that, exercise terminated, returning now."
Nie Yun gave one last look to the blue sky and gave a thumbs-up to his friend in the other fighter jet. He used the joystick to control the J-20 and flew back to the airbase.

The silver-gray fighter jet steadily touched the runway. After a short taxi, the parachute was ejected and the fighter jet came to a stop.
The ground crew came forward and the cockpit hood was opened.
After Nie Yun handed the ground crew his helmet, he followed the flight test captain's footsteps and walked toward the senior officer. He then performed a military salute.
The serious-faced senior officer saluted as well before turning his attention to Minister Qin.
"This is Nie Yun, the one I told you about, J-20 test pilot, and the best of our flight team."
Minister Qin looked away from the J-20 jet and looked at the test pilot. He slowly nodded.
"Nice to meet you, Nie Yun, I'm sure training was exhausting."
Nie Yun said, "Not at all, this type of training is very common for our flight team."
Minister Qin looked at the energetic man standing in front of him and nodded.
After a while, he put on a more serious face and said, "Our Air Force Equipment Department has a critical mission that requires two outstanding pilots. Commander Sun recommended you to me. Now all you have to do is tell me if you want to go or not."
Air Force Equipment Department mission?
Testing some kind of new weapon?
Nie Yun suddenly became intrigued.
"I'll go wherever my country needs me to go."
Minister Qin smiled and said, "Are you sure? You're not even going to ask what it is about?"
Even if I asked, you wouldn't tell me…
Nie Yun answered decisively.
"I am certain!"
Minister Qin nodded.
"Okay then."
"From now on, you'll be moved from the test flight team to the astronaut team."
Astronaut…
Astronaut team?!
Nie Yun was dumbfounded.

He definitely was a little disappointed.
Nie Yun never thought that the Air Force Equipment Department would assign him to the astronaut team. The so-called mission turned out to only be a test of a space shuttle made by a private company that cooperated with the national defense team, the so-called Skyglow.
Even though the astronaut team wasn't shabby at all, they were all elites, but whenever he remembered that he could no longer fly the J-20 through the blue sky, he couldn't help but feel a little lost.
However, the duty of a soldier was to follow orders, so even though he was lost, he had nothing to complain about.
He threw his thoughts aside and looked at the young man standing in front of him.
Is this the legendary Professor Lu?
He's just… a bit more handsome than I had imagined. He doesn't seem special.
While the two pilots were secretly looking at Lu Zhou, Lu Zhou, who was holding a document, watched the pilots carefully as well.
Of course, he wasn't concerned about their appearances. He was concerned about whether or not they had the qualities to become qualified astronauts.
[Nie Yun, male, age 32, jet model J-10, J-20…]
[Nie Yan, female, age 29, jet model Xi'an Y-20, Shaanxi Y-8…]
Lu Zhou looked up from his document and asked a question. 
"You guys are siblings?"
The two said in unison, "Yes."
Lu Zhou was curious, and he asked, "Why were you guys selected?"
The female with short hair said, "The chief asked me if I wanted to fly higher in the sky, I said yes, so he told me to come here."
There was nothing wrong with this answer, but Lu Zhou laughed a little.
He coughed and looked at Nie Yun.
"What about you?"
Nie Yun said, "Orders from the higher-ups."
Lu Zhou could tell something was different with this guy.
He looked at the file in his hand and turned to the next page while speaking.
"Even though Skyglow is neither a fighter jet nor a bomber jet, I promise that flying it will be more interesting than either of them… It'll also be more meaningful. I promise that many people will be envious of you two, and your teammates will be proud of you. Therefore, it doesn't matter what you guys think, just follow my orders."
Honestly, if it weren't because of the State Administration for National Defense calling him in the middle of the night asking if he was crazy, Lu Zhou would have become the test astronaut himself. His physical fitness was just as good as normal pilots.
However, this didn't matter too much.
He could always fly after the technology was fully and safely developed. He didn't have to be the first to fly.
Lu Zhou finished reading through the material and cleared his throat. He looked at the two and asked, "How much do you know about space shuttles?"
Nie Yun: "It's an aircraft that can travel to and from outer space and atmosphere."
Nie Yan's reaction was slower, and she said, "I agree with my brother."
Lu Zhou smiled and nodded. "Correct, but there are a lot more than that. Before boarding the space shuttle, I hope you guys can have a comprehensive understanding of the characteristics of a space shuttle.
"In the next three months, there will be dedicated people teaching you guys what exactly the space shuttle is, how to operate it, and most importantly… how to save yourself in the event of an accident.
"This mission is very crucial, and we only have three months, so I hope you guys can do your best."
The two aviators stood up straight and answered in unison.
"Yes, sir!"

My name is Hope, the only child of Vince and Belinda Troh.  I'm a twenty-eight year old Brown university graduate that studied Engineering and Astrophysics.  Although, before studying at the university I joined the United States Air Force.  I worked my way up the ladder from being the rookie riding along and learning to piloting my own personal plane that I got to choose from in three years.  At the peak of my time in the Air Force I completed reconnaissance missions in my Lockheed U-2 plane, or otherwise known as the U-2 Dragon Lady.  The Dragon Lady looks like a black, sleek, light-weight, 100 feet wide aerodynamic plane that comes equipped with different infrared cameras and radars that can be transmitted real-time from all across the globe.  Needless to say I was pretty proud of my job, but I had to leave to achieve the dream I've had ever since I was a child, to become an astronaut.  

    You see, Vince is a famous mathematician, well as a famous as a mathematician can be, but growing up with his influence I developed a deep attraction towards space since he worked for NASA.  Not even Belinda, my policewoman mother, could stop it.  She didn't mind whatever path in life I chose, but I know she had some for me join some form of law enforcement.  So I decided to join the Air Force.  Even so, I did not make this choice easily it was only until a major event happened when I was eleven.  Belinda died in the line of duty...hot trying to prevent a bank robbery.  This devastated my father and I, so when I graduated from high school I joined the air force while Vince drowned in his work.  

    From what I understand is the Belinda saved Vince's life.  After Vince calculated and mapped the trajectory for his first successful rocket launch he went out drinking with some of his NASA co-workers since their work was finished for the time being.  Leaving the restaurant with two of his friends they decided they were too drunk to drive so they called for a cab.  Vince was the last to leave the taxi, but when he was dropped off nearby his home he was accosted by five thugs.  They demanded that he leave all the cash and any valuable belongings he had on him.  Now while Vince was incredibly smart he was also incredibly stubborn.  So he refused their demands and ended up on the ground from the first hit and the rest of his memories are blurry, but he clearly see's a pretty brunette with a tan complexion and blue eyes attacking the thugs with a baton.  Then he woke up on her couch and the rest was history.  

    So losing her at this point of time made him somewhat broken, but he still tried to live life to the fullest by doing projects and helping me accomplish my dream of travelling into space.  It even left me torn up, but who wouldn't be when one of their parents died.  When she was still alive she let me help her out in the kitchen since she loved to cook.  Also, in case I wanted to join law enforcement I was taught the basics of standard weapons and how to shoot when I was nine.  I kept up with cooking for Vince after she died since he wasn't really cut out for that.  Speaking of cuts, I really took towards swordsmanship and marksmanship.  Although it was mostly self-taught things.  Anyway everything I've done since graduating high school has been building towards that; piloting the Black Lady because the suit used to fly it resembles a space suit, taking the correct college courses needed to become one, and taking a year of astronaut training when I was twenty seven to make sure I can handle the trip.  

    Now, I wouldn't say I have made as much friends as others probably have made in their life.  In fact, I only have my air force buddies who I can really call friends.  Maybe it has something with my personality?  If I have to describe myself then it would be brave, determined, full of knowledge, and kind.  And I guess some would also say I'm stubborn, sometimes clumsy, and have an explosive temper.  Which I won't deny except the temper part...okay my temper might be why I didn't make any new friends during my schooling years.  *Sigh* in high school the only topic I could relate to others about was space related, but there wasn't any astronomy club and no one else was interested.  While in college I looked kind of intimidating and I was too focused on studying for becoming an astronaut to form any connections.  Even so, it was fine with me as I was close to completing my dream and I was sure I would make new friends there.  

    Flash forward toward the first day of astronaut training, I wasn't really worried about failing this as it's only making sure you have enough physical fitness to handle space, are able to keep a clear head through the nauseating sense of vertigo in lift off, familiarizing yourself with the space ship, and are capable to be isolated for long periods of time.  Through my time in the air force I keep my body healthy by working out regularly and have experienced several vertigo moments through piloting.  I also experienced isolation through high school and college so I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem as other people would be with me, so it wouldn't be complete isolation.  As I'm sure no one could last long through that.  The only thing I would have to do is get used to the space ship.  

    So I focused on getting to know my fellow aspiring astroneers as any of them could be my furture crew members.  I'll let you know it took a while before I got to know any of them at a deep level.  Although there are four I really hit it off with; Jack, Lin, Josue, and Beth.  I was the youngest amongst us and Jack and Lin ended up as couple, as well as Josue and Beth.  I was happy for them, though that left me with more free time as they needed their couple time regurlarly so I took up a hobby of reading and watching shows, something that's easy to do in the facility we are kept in.  You may think, did you read some classics, or maybe some space related movies?  Neither I actually got into this Japanese manga turned anime called Dragon Ball.  Even so, I didn't actually start the series watching Dragon Ball, but rather the continuation Dragon Ball Z because of its space sub-themes.  And I got hooked, I watched all of Z and the two GT seasons then went back and watched Dragon Ball.  *Breath in* I-really-fell-in-love-with-the-characters-struggles-they-went-through-explosive-fights-worldbuilding-for-Earth-and-the-Saiyans-as-well-as-the-nicelookingcharcterdesigns..specificallyforwomen, *phew* there I said it.  What makes me even more excited is I heard there is a new season coming out, I think it was called Dragon Ball Super!  

    Anyway my nerdiness aside, The day quickly approached for our first launch towards the moon with our space ship Apollo.  I was deemed head pilot of the command module and overall leader of our crew.  They believed in my skills even though I was the youngest of the group which made me proud.  Everything was looking up for me as Vince was handling the mathematical issues of our launch and was even in the command center during the countdown.

Hearing the deep unhurried voice of the countdown timer gave me all the confirmation I needed that this wasn't a dream.

Being perpendicular to the ground hundreds of feet in the air strapped in a metal contraption designed to leave the planet you spent all your life in is surreal.

Looking to my left and right I see my crew mates trying to stay composed for what is undoubtedly the most important moment of their lives.

Either by gripping the harnesses tightly, closing their eyes, or praying they all know the significance of these next few seconds.

As it reaches the end of the countdown I look out the front towards the sky wondering what I would see when I reach high above the sky.  Would it be as great I imagined it would?  Only time would tell.

I turned to look where my father would be hoping he's paying attention to this historic moment, for him to know that everything they did was worth it...the Belinda's death was not lost.  It was all working towards something.  

"We Have Lift Off"

Then everything went black.

Thomas awoke to the feeling of fine, gritty, and sharp pieces of dirt with rocks embedded in it smacking him in the face. An explosion happened not too far away from him in which a hand grenade went off. There was a soldier who got caught in the explosion. He was missing half a leg and screaming in utter pain, his shrill screams were drowned out by the sound of machine gun fire and mortar explosions which promptly interrupted his screams for all of eternity when some machine gun fire stitched his face into swiss cheese. The dirt around him got splattered with bits of blood, bone, and metal fragments turning the area around him into a sort of shattered glass look, befitting of the fallen soldier. 

Thomas looked around, he recognized where he was, the hills to both sides, the long narrow road between. This was the valley pass at Monte Cassino, the fighting was hard here and he almost didn't make it. Back then the fighting was just as fierce, they were pushed back three times by the Germans. The artillery the Germans fielded turned this pass into a kill zone, no one could pass without tremendous losses, on top of that, anyone who made it through ended up at the mercy of MG-42s.

Thomas quickly looked around and took stock of his overall situation. Things were pretty grim, they were at the beginning of the valley, but they were already being pushed back a couple of yards at a time. It was a gruesome scene, tens of bodies falling by the minute, retreating backward in shame. Thomas had to turn this situation around, but first, he had to figure out which failed assault this is.
The problem is, he only gets one chance to determine which of three failed assaults this was. He, after all, had only participated in the final push for victory on the fourth assault, the French had done their jobs by eliminating the artillery and machine gun nests on one of the mountainsides, allowing a pincer action between French and American forces which quickly rolled over the defending Germans. 

Well he needed a weapon first, he looked around, not twenty feet away there was a dead soldier with M1 Carbine. Thomas moved over and he had to pry the rifle out of the young soldier's dead hands, even in death he still valued the tool of his survival. Load of good it did him though, the sniper round through the back of his head says otherwise. Thomas quickly searched the young man's body, he also remembered to shut his eyes, he found enough ammunition to last a few magazines. He would need another gun very soon. 

He was armed now, that was one less thing to worry about. He quickly looked at his rank patch, he is a sergeant, that's good, he can lead a squad. Two things down, quick equipment check, he had two frags, a couple of magazines for a pistol he didn't have, seems like he lost most of his equipment somehow. He took the fallen soldier's pistol, it was a Colt 1911, decent pistol, very reliable. Magazines match, he is set. Time to get the show on the road.

Thomas looked around for the nearest squad through all of the flying bullets and dirt haze, he really hated fighting in these conditions. He ran with the retreat through the bullets and haze, dirt being stitched through the air by machine gun fire, or tossed like a salad by artillery before lingering about in the air. The screams of anguish and pain still filled the air, lingering like phantoms on the wind, it was a very surreal scene. Thomas finally found what he was looking for, a squad without any sort of command. It consisted of two private and a corporal, he addressed the highest ranking soldier there, a Corporal Shelland. 

"You there, Corporal!" Thomas had to shout above all of the noise. Shelland whipped his head in Thomas direction before saluting for a brief moment against regulations. 

"Sir! Didn't see you there sir!"

"At ease men, who's your commanding officer?" Thomas needed to know, in case they were still alive. It is really frowned upon to take command of someone else's men. 

"Sergeant Calhoun sir! He took a hit awhile back and bled out. We've been retreating since then! We need to find some cover sir!" Shelland was correct, they were out in the open, the whole group quickly found and ducked behind some cover, it was just a bunch of rocks that formed a natural boulder-like wall. Bullets followed them up until they hunkered down behind the rock wall, where they instead tried to drill through the rock to no avail. 

"Alright, no more retreating, we need to get out on that ridge and assist our allies in taking out those artillery! They're chewing up our men!" Thomas laid out his plan, it was not well recieved. 

"Sir!" One of the privates complained, "There are just four of us! How are we supposed to do that without a substantial force or any explosives?"

"We'll pick all of it up on the way, search dead bodies, anyone who can walk and hold a gun. We are not dying here today boys!" Thomas said. He was firm in his reply, his faith and conviction seemed rock solid and pulled the other soldiers together. 

"Sir! We'll get it done sir!" They gave Thomas a quick salute, and as one they all exited from cover to the greetings of machine gun fire, it missed all four of them and kicked up the sand at their feet instead. They all went scavenging for ammunition, supplies, explosives, anything of use. They were to meet back at the rock wall in no more than ten minutes according to the plan. They needed to either silence the machine guns on the left ridge or make their way up the right and destroy the artillery. Thomas found a couple of corpses with some more rounds for his M1 Carbine, he also picked up more frag grenades and one sticky grenade. He didn't find anything else on them, he closed their eyes and moved on, no time to check for more. The next corpse he came across was just half a body with bits of bone and exposed ribcage, looks like he took the force from an artillery shell, but not the explosion. At least his equipment was intact, Thomas picked up another frag grenade and swapped out his Colt 1911 for the Webley Revolver this soldier had, shame he died. It was custom made, with a nice floral pattern on the hand grip and barrel. There was a nice amount of ammunition on his body to go with the six-shooter.

Thomas found one more body before he decided to head back, it was his look the man was an engineer. He carried enough explosives to destroy a few of the artillery, looks like they'll be attacking the ridge on the right instead of the left. Thomas grabbed some of the explosives, he couldn't carry them all, and hauled ass back to the rock wall. Along the way he found some private snivelling behind a rock, he looked pretty demoralized, but after slapping him around a few times and giving a short motivational speech, the private willingly went with him. The private was a heavy gunner and carried a Browning Automatic Rifle or BAR for short. His was rechambered to be belt fed a thirty round belt instead of the standard twenty round magazine, he carried ten belts on him. 

Thomas arrived at the rock wall and he was greeting with a plethora of people of all ranks. The two privates and Shelland were there and they each brought along five people. There were two private first class, two corporals, three sergeants, suprisingly they found and managed to rope in a field liuetenant, and one captain. Thomas scratched his head, he wasn't sure how he was going to explain this to the higher ranks.

OBSERVATION ROOM, AREA 1 FACILITY

The doctors were all astonished by what they are seeing in front of them through the observation glass, they would have never believed the reports otherwise. The entire medical room where Thomas is in, is gone, replaced by the scenes from Monte Cassino as seen through Thomas's eyes. His phasing ability didn't phase him through time, he was the time phase. He literally goes back to the past to fight Kincade on a battlefield of Kincade's choosing, almost like chess. If they were to understand it, when they saw Thomas close his eyes, the room was enveloped in an incredible burst of light before swirling into the vortex they see now. 

"Doctor Katz, what do you make of this phenomenon?" Doctor Elaine had no knowledge on any of this. She was just a really good surgeon. 

"I believe this is out of our hands, this has nothing to do with his brain, it is more like a calling." Doctor Katz replied.

"Maybe not so outside of our expertise as a whole though, doctors." Turing chimed in. "Although the computer is destroyed, the data in it, is not, I had that fed by wire to a nearby electric typewriter I made. Paper copies exist, perhaps we can formulate a solution. We may need to bring in a Physicist." 

"Doctor Turing is correct, this is not something we alone can handle." Doctor Elaine pointed out towards the reinforced mecial room where bullets were flying about and artillery shells were exploding. It seemed that Thomas did affect the space around him, just not in the way which they had hypothesized. It seems they were going to have to force Kincade to come out in the open.

Thomas spent a good ten minutes explaining his plan to the Captain who had the highest rank here. His name last name was Butler, he refused to give out his first name. The plan was three fold, they had enough people here for three squads. Two five-man and a four-man squad. Each squad would carry two of the explosives that Thomas had brought from the dead engineer, bless his sacrifice. They would climb the ridge from the side, the French were supposed to have climbed from the back, but they may have met too much resistance. It would be a mix of light a medium arms, the only exception being the private Thomas brought back, Thomas insisted he bring the private with him. They would only get one shot at this plan, failure could not be tolerated.

Once they climbed the ridge, they were to regroup and take out as many artillery as they can, silencing the machine guns on the ridge as well. One of the PFCs that the Corporal brought back was a radiomen, they wouldn't need to use signals now. If possible, the guns they capture at the end had to be turned towards the machine gunners on the other ridge. If they could destroy those positions, the allies would be in a favorable position in which they could push forward and possibly turn around this assault. They needed to keep the radioman alive as long as possible, to that end the radioman would be going with the Captain's squad, they had the most favorable route. Now that the plan had been approved, it was time to actualize it. A quick radio call was sent out through the open channels, all squads were to advance to the ridge, this was do or die. The Germans would not live to hold this pass at the end of the day.

Thomas awoke on a cold hard metal surface. 

"I'm alive...?"

Thomas Conlin was a Staff Sergeant during the Second World War...at least until he was killed in an ambush. 

Brought back to life by a seemingly unknown power and given some powers of his own, can he learn to master his gifts, or will they destroy him and everything he's ever fought for?

“Will they succeed?” The population looked on the scene in the television as the Newton regional fleet disappeared from space as they warped away.
Tears flowed endlessly as Milan sobbed.
The fatty behind her did not say anything. He was currently kneeling and praying wholeheartedly as chants came out from his mouth.
Milan stealthily walked to his side before listening attentively for a long period of time. The longer she heard, the weirder her expression became before finally, she could not help but kick Fatty and scolded him, “This idiot who is afraid of dying, hurry up and come look at the blueprint!”
Understanding the blueprint was a mission given by Professor Boswell. Since there were not many repair jobs currently available, the old man felt that letting Fatty idle away his time would be such a waste. Furthermore, there would be several newer and more complex weapons and Battle Mecha documents which Fatty would never have interacted with before in the past. For the sake of allowing this aide of his to become even better in terms of practical work and to fully utilize the chap with quite a good comprehension ability, Boswell specifically planned for the fatty to read through all the technological documents and blueprints within his access of authority.
This sort of access was extremely hard to acquire during ordinary periods; however, time and tide waited for no man. Nobody would truly know when Jialipalan would fall into the enemy’s hands. For the sake of finishing their experiments as fast as possible, it was vital to groom such a helper who could understand the entire intent, become familiar with the technological skills and blueprints, and had extremely good hands-on ability.
Yet Fatty, who had been regarded highly by the old man, had fallen into the demonic palms of Milan.
The initial excitement over interacting with the secret blueprints and technological documents had soon turned into a nightmare for the fatty.
Milan said, “A strict teacher trains a fine student.”
Milan also said, “Fatty, I must be responsible for you.”
Thus, under this woman who held a chicken feather in her hands and acted as if it was the arrow banner of command, reading through the documents and blueprints became torturous.
Regardless of who it was, if there had been a person forcing you to read up to hundreds of blueprints and dozens of documents before testing you every day on its contents, then you would immediately turn crazy, especially if they added the punishment of not letting you to sleep or to eat should you forget a certain number.
Fatty, who had not had a good sleep for a few days, took any opportunity to just lie on the floor. His face was filled with an expression of agony as if Milan had given him a fatal kick.
Still, Milan had long gotten used to the fatty’s tricks. She was not moved by his actions. Instead, she valiantly taken out an energy rifle.
Seeing the rifle, Fatty knew that he was truly at his wit’s end. Thus, as quick as a panicking rabbit, he climbed up from his position and ran towards the central computer screen before acting as if he was seriously looking at the blueprints.
Somehow, it seemed as if Fatty’s prayers had been heard. After a week, the Federation government released an official news: The Federation’s united space force that comprised of the 4th, 6th, and 7th space fleet had successfully broken through the blockade on the warp gates of the Gyaca Woods Empire. Acting as the vanguard, the Newton regional fleet had truly suffered a huge loss, but they still continued to allow the reinforcement to enter and open up a path. The result of this strategic battle was truly prominent. The 1st, 2nd, and 8th fleets that formed the 2nd United Space Force had also been fully assembled. They were currently on their way to use the warp gates to reinforce the Newton Starfield. As for the 3rd and 9th space fleets, they had suddenly and miraculously appeared within the Galileo Starfield, restricting the movement of the Empire’s space fleets stationed there.
The good news foretold the fact that both warring factions had truly reached an equilibrium in the Newton Starfield. The Gyaca Woods Empire’s absolute control over the airfield had been lost, and Miracolo Planet’s ground resistance forces were being supported by the Federation space fleets’ support. Other than air bombardments and suppressions, the supply and military manpower would also continuously be replenished via the middle starfield. The movements between cities would definitely improve by then.
These news had indeed let Fatty understand that Jialipalan had become even safer, and better yet, it had allowed him to sleep well.
Other than working, Milan, who had always been up-to-date with the television news, was cheering for the Federation space fleets and was captivated by all the introduced young and handsome commanders or pilots who had extraordinary achievements. Thus, she had practically no time to torment the fatty any longer.
Furthermore, Tian Xing Jian had some talents regarding machinery, and his ability to recollect was quite good as well. After a week of getting familiar with the theories, the data and blueprints were practically spilling out from his mouth. As long as it was a construct built with an identical theoretical foundation, whether it was a weapon or Battle Mecha, Fatty could deduce many things from it. Thus, very few questions could truly stumble him after that.
As a result, the fatty started to idle once again. However, this wretched person had already suffered from too much labor and would naturally not give Boswell or Milan a chance to give him anymore troubles. On the surface, Fatty was practically reading the central computer’s database every single day. He would put on a sour expression and frown as if he was currently suffering even more than before.
In reality, Fatty felt truly content and quite free at this moment. He was currently following a psychology course on the computer. As the top trainee coming from the special forces during the scout training camp, Fatty always held a deep interest towards psychology. That’s because psychology was the fundamental of self-perceptions. Controlling a person’s self-perception would naturally affect his analytical abilities and heart. During his training on disguises, Fatty had gained some preliminary knowledge about it. The central computer of the research lab stored all sorts of scientific advancements ever since the development of humankind, thus the information regarding psychology was extremely detailed. Since he had the chance, this person who was passionate in disguise and setting traps could no longer resist the temptations.
As such, Milan had unknowingly become a guinea pig for the fatty’s experiments. During normal occasions, Fatty would scrutinize the actions of Milan in detail, analyzing and determining what made her happy and what not. He would then influence her through the placements of certain instruments or materials, certain words that had an underlying meaning, or maybe some sort of music.
Milan could feel her own mood and reactions becoming more and more odd. She started taking into account several matters which she would usually ignore, causing the swing in her mood to become even bigger. Some days when she first entered the laboratory, she would feel depressed, yet by noon, her mood would be back to normal.
Whenever she chatted with the fatty, she would ask him in bewilderment if he had experienced the same problems. That wretched person replied that he was a guy and would not have such issues, and women would usually have a few days of mood swings every month.
Flushed with shyness, Milan decided to ignore this damned atty after that incident.
“It’s a success! She did not point a rifle at me!” Fatty was celebrating in his heart.
Ultimately, the fatty had even tried hypnotizing Milan.
But it was a pity that coincidentally, Professor Boswell came over to discuss some issues with Milan, causing a stop to Fatty’s experiments.
The deeper he studied, the more the fatty felt that he should become a master of psychology. He felt that this subject was truly meant for him. Using words, actions, temperature, color, materials, touch, smell, sound, and many other combinations of aspects, he could cause a person to feel in a pre-determined way, which would affect his or her thinking. After seeing how Milan’s reactions were exactly the same as what he predicted, the fatty felt as if he had become the emperor.
“Hei hei, if I can discover a way to let woman be unable to extricate from loving themselves… I’ll definitely be rich…” Fatty thought vilely. 
The period after that, he had turned everyone in the laboratory into Fatty’s research participants. Not only did he determine the psychological state of everyone through their small reactions, he could even bring the subconscious mind out and even cause them to have misconceptions.
The laboratory soon turned chaotic as everyone became confused.
By the time Boswell had discovered something was wrong, the laboratory had already reverted back to normal. This was because the fatty’s interests changed very fast He soon discovered a book 《The Way of Concealment Like An Assassin 》.
This was not a fantasy novel, but instead it was a monumental work that amalgamated fantasy techniques, optical illusions, magic theories, circumstantial studies, and psychology. This book was enough to cause Fatty to be engrossed in it within moments.
As such, the people in laboratory started to take medicines — in order to prevent or cure their heart problems.
If you were to be frightened a few times each day by a fatty suddenly appearing beside you, or perhaps seeing a plant or the fridge walking away, or maybe a fatty flying around your head, or even things going missing around you, you would certainly take some medication to reduce the pressure that your heart had suffered from.
The only person who felt happy over this was Milan. Magical techniques and illusion techniques were extremely interesting to her. After all, she was just a 20-year-old young teenage girl. Thus, the laboratory would frequently have a girl brandishing out a rifle to force a fatty to do some magic.
After he had enough of the hiding games, Fatty went on to find another fun thing —《The Art of Lifelike Modelling》. What this bullsh*t title covered up was training on how to swindle others.
To this wretched person, that book was absolutely a treasure. There were techniques related to vocal mimicry, etiquette, flowery speech, the psychology of females, appreciation of famous paintings, forgery, imitation of someone’s actions, and many other techniques a swindler needed. There was even a step-by-step procedure for how to swindle someone else.
As such, the fatty truly started his life of swindling others.
This wretched person imitated Boswell’s voice and called the institute’s kitchen, indignantly berating the poor chefs before asking the kitchen to send some sumptuous dishes to the laboratory. Before the call had even ended, he eccentrically asked the kitchen not to use such minor matter to make him angry, as he was really busy.
Once again, the fatty succeeded with no one being the wiser of his traps.
After improving the meals, Fatty, who had nowhere to go, decided to change targets onto ‘all the grass beside his nest’. He had practically swindled almost everyone. How could these unsophisticated researchers be his match? Many personal treasures had fallen into the fatty’s personal storage.
Until the moment a researcher brought the fatty’s collection of imitated antique pistol to boast to his professional friends, that was when his scam was seen through.
Even under the presiding of Milan interrogating him, which caused this fatty to be beaten, he still felt very happy. That’s because everyone acknowledged that his deceit was truly able to deceive many others. That fake antique pistol was only revealed because of a small minor mistake he made during manufacturing.
Fatty continued paddling in the sea of knowledge like a drunken dog... This 21-times escapee from battle had discovered that there were many points about himself that were lacking. The experiences he had from begging for a fortunate encounter during desperate times let Fatty understood this: For him to survive through the war, he had to branch out and learn more things so as to survive during crucial moments.

Lin Qiao had brought away the majority of Hades Base survivors. Currently, less than two-thousand people were still living in the old base. Some among them had superpowers, but none were high-leveled. The small number of superpowered people were only at level one or two.
At that moment, the decision-makers among those people were having a meeting together.
"There's a long distance between Hangzhou and here. We'll be surrounded by zombies all our way. Many of us would have died by the time we get there." Some people were still worried about the dangers that might occur during the journey. They were afraid that without effective protection, they might be killed by zombies or mutated animals.
"What to be afraid of? We have so many vehicles and weapons. With those, we'll get the new base safely. You can stay if you're afraid." A younger man glanced at the man who was talking just now.
"We missed the first chance. She gave us a chance, but we failed to take it. We have only ourselves to blame. Now, we have no choice but to create a new chance!" Said another man. He was tall and strong, without any cowardice at all. He didn't leave with Lin Qiao because he didn't trust strangers. He would never trust his future to a strange woman.
He needed to observe! Through a long observation, he was finally sure that a new base had truly been established in Hangzhou City. The people who had moved to the new base were well alive.
"Yeah. We are not starving to death, but many of us have died of illness. The new base might have medicines and healing power possessors."
"We should leave as soon as possible if we have decided to go. Tell everybody to pack their things and get the vehicles ready. We'll be moving!"

Lin Qiao didn't know that the people who chose to stay in the old Hades Base now wanted to join All Beings Base. There was still about ten days before the New Year came, so she slowed down, searched for energy nuclei and high-leveled zombies on her way back to the base. 
Back in the base, she had a meeting with the other base administrators.
"Lu Zhuofeng, Mu Chengfeng, Fang Xiulin, all the vice-leaders under their commands, and all superpowered people in that base at or above level-four, have died. They paid the price for helping Earth Dragon Base to attack us. As for what will happen to that base in the future, that'll be up to fate," Lin Qiao stood before the conference table as she crossed her arms before her chest and said to the others.
The others glanced at each other with composure. Still, they seemed a little delighted. 
"We have cut off the head of Hidden Cloud Base, so Sky Fire Base will certainly try to seize their supplies. They have no reason to let the others to make the harvest. So, when are we going to attack Sky Fire Base?" Lin Feng asked Lin Qiao.
"We are not going to do it… for now. The force I brought to Hidden Cloud Base this time is our secret weapon. We have already caught the attention of the other bases. For the time being, we can't go after Sky Fire Base. Just let those people live for now," Lin Qiao scratched her chin and said.
Yuan Tianxing nodded and said, "You're right. Most importantly, we've caught Huaxia Base's attention. Ever since they learned that the zombie from their lab was among the ones under your command, they've been keeping a close eye on Hidden Cloud City. Heilong Base and Mongols Base were paying close attention to that base too. We'd be in trouble if they knew that those zombies are from our base."
"Yeah. So, we'll keep building the fence wall, collecting supplies, and establishing the farm. We don't need to worry about weapons though. If we need, we can buy some from Wu Chengyue," Lin Qiao nodded and said.
"We do need to keep an eye on Huaxia Base. Those people are not easy to deal with," Yuan Tianxing nodded and said.
"Yuan Tianxing, you also need to send some people to Heilong Base. We don't want to miss any news from there. If I have guessed right, something might happen in that base soon. And Green Mountain Base… They are very interested in our base. If you meet them, be nice," Lin Qiao thought for a moment and then said to Yuan Tianxing, who nodded in response.
Lin Qiao ten continued, "Are our food storage granaries ready yet?" 
She needed to move the stored food out of her space. Those foods couldn't always stay in her space and travel around along with her.
Yuan Tianxing nodded, "The first one is ready, right under this hotel. How much food do you have?"
"About two-thousand tons in total," Lin Qiao thought for a moment and then gave the answer. 
"The storage under the hotel isn't large. It's only able to contain about five-hundred tons for now. Just fill that storage up first, then give some to Wenwen. The rest will be kept in your space. You can take them out when the second granary is ready," Yuan Tianxing suggested.
Currently, Lin Qiao and her sister were the only two in the base who had spaces.
"Okay… Make some arrangements. Give all base members some subsidy for the New Year. Chen Yuting, you will keep assisting Yuan Tianxing," Lin Qiao said to Yuan Tianxing, then turned to Chen Yuting, who was beside the former. 
"No problem! Chen Yuting nodded.
"After the New Year, I'll deliver a mass upgrade for all superpowered people at or above level-five. Lin Feng, count them up and give me a number," Lin Qiao turned and gave Lin Feng an order. 
It was the end of the year. She needed some data for the year-end summary and the new-year plan.
"Oh, there's one thing that you need to know. Those people who stayed in the old Hades Base might come here in two or three months. How are we gonna accept them?" Yuan Tianxing abruptly mentioned that.
Lin Qiao waved a hand carelessly and said, "Just let them come. Register their names and arrange jobs for them. Do observe them and see if they have a healthy mindset or not. Offer official jobs for the good ones. For the below-average ones, give them food and supplies according to our old standard for commoners."
"Alright," Yuan Tianxing nodded.
As the meeting was over, Lin Qiao returned to her office before summoning Lin Wenwen and Long Qingying.
"Wenwen, is your space still airless?" Lin Qiao sat behind her desk and asked Lin Wenwen while reading some files.
"Em, yeah. Why?" Lin Wenwen responded with confusion.
"How big is your space now? You're only at level-four, aren't you?" Lin Qiao continued.
"Big Sister, are you gonna upgrade me?" Lin Wenwen's eyes glowed, then she replied, "My space is only around thirty meters square now. It's not large."
Lin Qiao nodded as she dropped the files, then raised her head to look at the two girls and speak, "I asked you to come here because I want to upgrade both of you."
Lin Wenwen glanced at Long Qingying delightedly, and the latter was turning to her as well. Long Qingying's eyes, which normally showed no emotions, were glowing as well.
"Really? Great! I'll be able to store more supplies then!" Lin Wenwen turned back to Lin Qiao and said. 


Lin Qiao remembers nothing from the past five years since the post-apocalyptic era began. She wakes up only to find herself having become a newborn, superpowered zombie, in a body that used to belong to an evil and notorious woman!

Having kidnapped a girl and raped her father, the previous host met her demise at the very hands of the conspiracies she courted all her life, leaving Lin Qiao no choice but to deal with the consequences while trying to figure out her own past and the fate of her loved ones. 

As for the little girl’s father, can’t he just have a decent fight? He’s a human being, but why is he biting a zombie? She’s the zombie! She’s the one who’s supposed to bite!
