Where kings and clerics, inquisitors and sorcerers cannot cope with evil, the pupils of the Brotherhood of Guardians are called to help. People with the gift, able to see the invisible and stop the dark entities.

Andrew Normayn is one of them. A free hunter for the creatures of darkness, he travels from a kingdom to a kingdom, ridding the world of evil souls. He is waited for work everywhere, where inexplicable events, cruel pestilence and strange, unexpected deaths occur.

Kirou and Navi walked in silence as they headed to the entrance of the underground cave system. It was a fifteen-minute trip but the duo spent the time walking. As they walked, Navi couldn't stop herself from asking, "Did you have to do that to Guardian Knight? Considering the focus and speed you employed, I'm sure you harvested a lot of materials."

Kirou shrugged as he responded to her, "Your sect was lucky. I was able to obtain some extra materials mainly due to the size of the boss and setting up a few things ahead of time. It's not something that can be repeated too many times, especially now that the system caught me doing it already. If I had to guess, if I try that again, the corpse will directly vanish instead of slowly turning into particles of light."

Navi covered her mouth in shock as she listened to those words. Although she should have been used to it by now, Kirou somehow still managed to pull off something to surprise her. She could only shake her head at his antics. While she was busy dealing with this, the duo arrived at the entrance of the underground cave system.

Kirou turned towards Navi and spoke, "Be sure to remind them to avoid combat with the lizardmen if possible. Your sect will have more to gain from those NPCs if you establish a trade agreement with them, as opposed to your guys turning them into hostiles."

A serious expression formed on Navi's face as she nodded at Kirou's advice. Seeing this, Kirou started walking away from the cave entrance. He never made it far before he could hear Navi's words, "Thanks again for helping us out, Kirou. Let's team up later."

At those words, Kirou raised his hand and gave Navi a 'thumbs up' without turning around, followed by him waving his hands goodbye. As soon as his figure entered the shade of a nearby tree, his body quickly sank into the shadows, completely disappearing from the area. Navi stared at where he left for a few moments before rushing back into the cave. Right now, she was curious as to the number of materials that Kirou had harvested and to see if she can procure some resources for her branch from this ordeal.

Navi had just returned to the defacto conference room when she saw the dazed expression on the various members. Besides Guardian Knight who was currently making some calls, if his current actions were anything to go by. Navi waited by his side until he was done with his conversations.

While this was going on, the dazed members in the room finally awoke from their stupors. They each gave Navi a meaningful look before walking out of the room. As one of the two people remaining in the room, Navi stole a glance at the busy Guardian Knight before thinking over the possible implications of those looks that she received earlier.

Roughly three minutes later, Guardian Knight had finally finished making his calls and had now released a sigh. Upon noticing Navi's presence, a wry smile formed on his face as he spoke, "I truly am fortunate to have both you and Reya at my side, Navi. I seriously don't know how to thank you for introducing Kirou to us, even if we can only work with him on a contractual basis." Guardian Knight had a sincere expression on his face as he said this.

Those words caused Navi's lips to twitch. She's been working for Guardian Knight for many years now. During that time, the times in which he would show such a sincere expression while expressing such thanks were few and far in between. She could actually count the number of times on her hands. With Guardian Knight making such an expression, Navi couldn't stop herself from asking, "Chairman, just what kind of materials did Kirou obtain for you to react in this way? Even the reactions from the group from before seemed a bit exaggerated over this."

Guardian Knight looked at Navi from head to toe. After doing this for a few seconds, Guardian Knight gently shook his head as he spoke, "See for yourself, Navi." 

Following that, Guardian Knight sent Navi a message. After opening the display, Navi could only cover her mouth with one hand while looking at the display while using the other to slowly scroll down.

Navi, admittedly, had to look over the list a few times before she released a sigh. Before her eyes laid roughly eighty materials. Obtaining so many materials from a boss, so early in the game seems highly illogical, even if one considers the fact that the boss dropped no equipment with Kirou's work on it. It seems that Kirou wasn't joking when he said that he wouldn't be able to pull this trick off anymore. 

Hell, just her looking at this list, she would have intentionally sabotaged his work from now on if she was in the place of the system watching over the game. Kirou's gains were just too much. Besides that, she could also understand why both Guardian Knight and the group of players ended up in such a state after seeing this list. In fact, if she wasn't already used to Kirou's knack of pulling off some amazing stunts, she too would be lost in a daze right now instead of just being mildly shocked.

Shaking her head free from such thoughts, Navi looked up, only to come face to face with Guardian Knight's stare. Seeing his gaze, Navi could only release a helpless sigh as she spoke, "It's like this, Chairman. Both Reya and I are already used to Kirou pulling off stunts like this. If we had to be shocked over every little thing he pulls after knowing him for a while, I'm afraid that we would have already stopped playing this game due to medical reasons."

Guardian Knight could only stare at her for a few more seconds before releasing a sigh as he spoke, "It's fine. For now, I won't interfere with yours or Reya's dealings with him. That being said, be sure to let me know ahead of time he needs help in obtaining certain resources and I'll do my best to provide aid. The same for trouble as well. I won't stand for anyone setting their sights on an ally such as Kirou."

"Thank you, Chairman. I'll do my best." Following those words, Navi nodded her head before turning around and leaving the room. For now, she had to go find Reya and share the good news. As for Guardian Knight, he remained behind in the room alone.

He was currently lost in thought, 'If these materials are just 80% of the items he obtained, and are the ones closely related to what I asked for, I can't help but wonder what the remaining 20% looks like? Based on the kind of feeling he emanates and the information about him given by both Navi and Reya, I know he's not the type to work at a loss so something within the remaining 20% must have been enough to cover all those excellent quality items he gave up. Kirou is definitely someone my sect should never antagonize.' With those thoughts in mind, Guardian Knight resolved himself to personally handle any dealings in the future where Navi and Reya are unable to take part in. This was all for the rise of his sect.

Kirou was currently riding his wolf mount and making his way back to the small village on the outskirts of the mountain area. While he would have loved to stay and deal with those lizardmen from now, he had more pressing concerns to deal with. With his experience bar being currently locked on 99%, he had no choice but to see an expert on the matter. And who would be a better choice than his own class master to explain the kind of situation that he was facing? With that in mind, Kirou had to make his way towards Elderwood Village in order to speak to his class master there, Bladesmith.

Along the way, Kirou also thought back to an item he obtained from the boss monster. Just thinking about it puts a cheeky smile on his face. 'Who would have thought that I would obtain materials like these while randomly rushing at the end. Should I think of it as the system's way to compensating me for removing the corpse in such a fashion, or should just consider myself extremely lucky that these two materials just so happened to be placed near where I was at the end?'

With those thoughts in mind, Kirou took a look at the materials in question. Just like Guardian Knight had suspected, Kirou wasn't the benevolent type of person that would be giving away excellent quality materials for no reason. The fact that he did so proved that he had obtained something of greater value from his harvests. For Kirou, his look from the boss monster went like this:

Kirou's portion of the haul was quite generous considering all of these belong solely to him while the 80% obtained by Guardian Knight belonged to the Sanming Sect. Be that as it may, since the deal had already been struck and he was the one who obtained the extra materials, these were all materials that Kirou had rightly earned, especially when you consider the extra gift he had left them in the form of the lizardmen. 

That being said, if Kirou had to choose between the mysterious alloy and the pet egg over the rest of the items on the list, Kirou would have easily and quickly disposed of them as he was more interested in those two after all. Putting the pet egg aside for the moment, the mysterious alloy caught Kirou's attention for two reasons; the first being its grade and the second being the size of the brick in question.

Let this be known, Kirou had no part in the creation of this mysterious alloy. It was already in the shape of a brick when he found it next to the pet egg and all he had to do was take it up with his hands to retrieve it. With that being said and done, Kirou obtained a material of excellent grade without any work on his part. As for the size of the brick, it was roughly half the size of a normal metal brick. The fact that Kirou read its description and it's being classified as a brick instead of half a brick, that gave Kirou a thought, 'It's either the system making a mistake with this things description or the process to make this alloy is so strenuous that just this half is treated in a similar fashion as bricks made from other metals. With how the system has been going on lately, I'll be damned if it isn't the second option.' With that in mind, Kirou had an idea of how he would go about using the mysterious alloy but that would have to wait until after his trip to Elderwood Village.

Now that the mysterious alloy is out of the way, let's return the focus back to the pet egg. Unlike creatures in the wild that can only be tamed by any advanced Archer-class, summoners and now Weapon Masters, pet eggs allow ANYONE, regardless of their class, to obtain a companion of their own. That being said, obtaining a pet egg isn't easy as their drop rates are abysmal in the early stages of the game, or so the forums say. Kirou had originally researched this topic during the time he had tamed Shadow Arachne and it seems that such a situation remains true until now. Not only that, but this pet egg was also at epic grade. That was the equivalent of an orange named creature, which are usually bosses at this stage in the game. The fact that Kirou obtained such a thing had to be kept quiet, which is another reason why he was in a rush to leave the area.

While Kirou had no problems with fighting, he would rather not take a chance and fill the minds of those in the room with greed, forcing him to have to fight his way out. Kirou was at least confident in escaping the cave system alive but all relationships with the Sanming Sect would end at that point and he still has some use for them. Besides, they haven't made good on their end of the deal yet, as far as he knows, so Kirou would rather not take any unnecessary chances.

With all that said, Kirou sped his way towards the village at top speed and left the mountains behind him. After another two or so minutes of travel, Kirou finally arrived at the small village, where he immediately rushed to the village head to make use of their teleport gate.

As the village head chanted and moved his hands, causing a beam of gold light to surround Kirou, a thought flashed through Kirou's mind, 'Senior Bladesmith, I believe it's time we had a heart to heart.'

Following that thought, Kirou's figure disappeared within the golden light. His destination, to the far south of the Southern Continent, Elderwood Village.

Even when one travels the path of slaughter, they cannot help but reminisce of the days when they were still young and naive. They long for the days when they can put the killing behind them and just rest in a town far away, where no one knows them and where they no longer have to deal in bloodshed. These thoughts always come as a form of longing for all whose hands are stained with untold amounts of blood.

Wang Xu was just your average security guard working for a security firm. He was assigned to the group currently tasked with guarding a gaming company. Feeling curious about the allure of these games, he one day buys the gear for the newest game on the market, Immortal Era, in order to try it out. 

Sadly, this curiosity of his would go unsolved as he died that same evening rescuing some women from robbers. A few days later he awakens, but it wasn't Wang Xu that woke up. Instead, it was a mysterious individual from another world know as Kirou. Realizing that he didn't know where he was plus being assaulted by memories he knows aren't his, Kirou eventually comes to terms that he has now taken over the body of this youth and will now have to live as him.

Feeling that this is the start of a new life for him, Kirou resolved to live this life as peacefully as possible as Wang Xu. He also decided to solve Wang Xu's curiosity by trying out the new game he bought in his stead.

The Angel Guardian was now all alone. Its vines and roots that resembled that of the Tree of Life were now boxed in a single place as S-Class flames kept them at bay. The Demon Guardian was at the other corner, held there with the might of the S-Class tanks and martial artists. However, it couldn't be contained for long. It possessed far more strength and dexterity as compared to the average S-Ranker of Yudonia, which meant that in due time, it could break free from its confinement to reunite with the Angel Guardian. The damage dealers responsible for the Angel Guardian all rushed their attacks, bringing as much magic as they could to the table.

Flame Thaumaturge Nassisa led the assault. The entire Boss Room had a raised temperature, and Aria felt like she had entered into a magma pit. If not for her added magical protection, the Archmagus was certain that her face would have been melted. Like a cosmic meteor shower, huge flaming meteorites zoomed down from the ceiling, ravaging anything that was below. 

BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!! BOOM!!!

The earth trembled with fear as the side where the Angel Guardian was from had ironically transformed into a pit of hell. Crimson light was the prevalent colour scheme, completely eroding the Angel's terrestrial aura. If it was the Angel Guardian in its prime, it could have used a magic skill to completely wipe out the flames, but unfortunately, only one of its wings was functioning. The magic 

"Open up a path! Damage dealers, all focus on the final wing that the Angel has!!!" Arcane Warlock Rhykius shouted. Guardian Paladin Arius was responsible for holding down the Demon Boss while Rhykius and Kama had their hands full taking down the Angel. 

Behind the entire Raid Force, White Sorceress Minerva was continuously casting her barrier and support magic. Yvette was holding onto the unconscious Finn, trying to heal up the broken man who had blood flowing out of his mouth and bones broken all over his chest. They couldn't waste any more time. The longer the fight progressed, the more chances the Angel and Demon Guardians had to regroup and completely wreck Yudonia's S-Rankers. 

Half of the Boss Room continued to get engulfed by flames, and the roots that the Angel Guardian summoned were incinerated the moment they formed. Realising that it was futile to stay this way, the Angel Guardian changed its approach. Its final wing glowed once more, filling the chambers with dense mana. Aria instantly felt breathless, and she fell to her knees. Many of the magicians did the same. Only those with S-Class constitutions could remain standing without feeling any penalty.

"ARGHHH!!!" Powerful mages covered their ears and laid on their stomachs. Their mana was beginning to go haywire, and there was a burning sensation within their veins. The Angel Guardian was severely damaged, but its core was still that of a monster exceeding the SSS-Class. The pure magic that it could unleash was unbearable for those without Higher Magic Resistance, which was only common for those fighting in the frontlines.

"Pull yourself together!" Rogue Lord Kama roared. "All supporters, cast physique buffs on the mages! We can't have them dropping like flies!"

"Hah!!!" Spells were continuously cast, giving every single person in the Boss Room some power to remain standing. Illusionists and Magicians without Fire Magic were forced to supply mana to the fire mages or supporters. It took a few seconds, but the Raid Force was now ready to attack once more.

"Fucking angel… [Abyss Familiar]!!!" When Rhykius came to be, his face was completely vermillion, and the handsome facade that he worked so hard to maintain had crumbled entirely. The one-eyed darkness familiar followed him up high in the air. Its hands glowed with arcana, and Rhykius did well in supplying it with more and more mana. Eventually, its entire body had been filled with enough Arcane Magic to make it a missile of pure destruction.

OOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

The Spectre rushed straight at the Angel Guardian like a guided warhead. Black lightning coils enveloped the air around it as it barged forward. The Angel Guardian was a little rattled by the foreign invader that dared to trespass on its territory. It lacked the ability to counter the little critter, so all it could do was watch as the Abyss Familiar exploded on its body. 

"Did it work?" One S-Ranker had to gall to ask that question. As if scoffing at how little the S-Rankers thought of it, the Angel Guardian flapped its final wing and summoned even more vines to protect itself. However, instead of spreading it far and wide, the Angel only created twenty, each one ten times thicker than the ones before. 

The flames of hell attempted to take the Angel Guardian out. It slithered like a snake, edging ever closer in hopes of incinerating the vines like before. 

WHHHHHHAMMMMMM!!!

Alas, not everything went as planned. As if giving the Fire Mages a slap of the face, the one thickened vine whipped itself, pushing the fire far away from the shockwave it generated. After adapting, the Angel Guardian's Nature Magic was now even immune of the S-Class Flames that Yudonia's best S-Rankers could create.  

"Fuck, it's getting accustomed to the S-Class flames!" Arcane Warlock Rhykius screamed, his face ashen and hollow. "All martial artists quickly attack that final wing! We have to destroy it before it adapts to our movements!!!"

"HA!!!"

None of the S-Rankers bothered to give a formal reply. They were in crisis mode. Defeating the Angel Guardian was key now. Rogue Lord Kama made the first move. He hung upside down from the ceiling, sticking both his feet as if unhindered by gravity. The assassin had been observing the Angel Guardian ever since he first arrived. Its mannerisms, what it did before attacking, what it did before defending, its timing… Everything had been analysed by the seasoned veteran. Now, he was finally ready to thread the needle. 

The dagger in his right hand vibrated violently. There was no need for any poison, neurotoxin or paralysing agents to be laced on his weapon. All he needed was pure, brute, explosive strength. The muscles on his thighs expanded rapidly. Veins popped, and dust flew everywhere by the shockwave his feet were unleashing. If he were on regular concrete, the entire place would have been broken down into a million pieces. He had gathered enough potential energy… It was now time to convert it into kinetic movement.

VROOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

Kama's body disappeared from everyone's view, and a few moments later, a sonic boom echoed through the thick walls of the Boss Room. The man had broken through the sound barrier and was now travelling ten times the speed of sound. It took just a fraction of a second for the Rogue Lord to whiz past the Angel Guardian and all Aria could see was a flash of silver light. Then, as he landed squarely on the ground surrounded by the thick tree vines, Kama's Blink Bracelet glowed in radiant azure colour, before his entire body disappeared from view. 

"Hah… Hah… Hah..." Kama reappeared behind enemy lines, right smack in the middle of Minerva's barrier. He was huffing and puffing from expending too much power and speed. Otherwise, Kama was free from even the slightest speck of dust. The Blink Bracelet had done its job. The man was able to use High Teleport to retreat. "Did I get him?"

That was the Rogue Lord's first question. He had executed his ultimate ability. His four limbs were numb, and many blood vessels had been snapped. Half of his mana was gone, and his trusted dagger had chipped. There had to be some payoff. 

BBBOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM!!!

Luckily for the Rogue Lord, there was some reward. The Angel Guardian stumbled, falling a little to its right. Before it could hit the ground, the vines that it created held it back up. Powder fell from the surface of the final wing that it had as a notable cut could be seen from its bottom. It had been damaged. Just not enough.

Still, it was good news for the Raid Force. "Physical attacks work!!!" Rhykius shouted into the intercom. Before, they were just working off assumptions theorised by the President and his league of analysts. Now, they were a hundred percent certain. "Everyone throw your strongest attack while its trying to recover!!!"

Swordsmen, Knights, Spearmasters, Assassin, Monks, Swashbucklers, Berserkers, Archers and Rangers all prepared their ultimate physical ability and threw them without mercy. The long-ranged attacks connected first. Elemental Archers like Luke stayed out of the barrage, not willing to feed the Angel Guardian even more magical power, so the vast majority of the arrows had some substantial weight to them. Some spearman even used their prized weapons as javelins to ensure that the Boss was damaged by their attacks. 

Second after second, the Angel Guardian was being pushed back. Weaker attacks bounced off the stone wing like they were jelly while stronger ones pierced right through. Just as the first wave of arrows ceased, the melee-ranged fighters took the scene. Using their speciality weapons, the S-Rankers bolted past all of the rapidly flying vines unleashing their ultimate abilities right on the final wing. 

The sound of metal hitting stone became the ubiquitous tune of the Boss Room. Each time an S-Ranker landed their strongest hit, their Blink Bracelet glowed ever so brightly and teleported them back. Using these guerilla tactics, the Raid Force was able to create more and more holes within the Angel Guardian's wing, as magical power was lost at a rapidly increasing rate. 

Noting that the Boss was just taking a beating, one S-Class Berserker smiled. After landing one powerful swing using his two-metre-long Greatsword, the Berserker unleashed his deadliest skill, [Shattering Will], by kicking off the wall behind the Angel Guardian, hoping to land the finishing blow. 

That was a mistake.

One of the twenty thick vines noticed that blatant attack and immediately moved to counter it. For the Berserker, who was isolated behind the Angel Guardian with no other reinforcements, he was an easy target. The vines slammed onto the Berserker's chest and charged him into the wall. Instantly, the man's sculpted body was wrung dry of mana. His healthy cheeks turned into a hollow ghost's and the muscles that attracted so many women had been drained completely. There wasn't even a chance for the S-Ranker to teleport away. It happened too fast. One second the man was about to land yet another dominating blow onto the Angel Guardian, the next, he had been drained till only his skin and bone remained. 

"Fuck, Glorlaf!" Rhykius hollered out the Berserker's name. Blood trickled down the Arcane Warlock's lower lip as he watched a person he would call his friend pass away right before his very eyes. However, as much as Rhykius wanted to grieve, he was still at war. "Everyone be wary!!!"

It was the first fatality of the S-Class Dungeon. The entire Raid Force brightened up and uniformly gulped huge mouthfuls of saliva. They didn't want to replicate the actions of the Berserker, so everyone moved with much more caution. 

Currently, the final Angel's wing was decorated like a honeycomb. There were dozens of holes and cuts within the stone structure that it wouldn't be a surprise for it to crumble at any moment now. However, instead of falling into pieces, the Angel's wing still remained flapping. Every odd second, it would continue to glow with intense mana, bringing even more thickened vines into the picture. The Angel Guardian had changed its strategy once more. It understood that Yudonia's S-Rankers were powerful enough to destroy it, so it was going to defend itself until the Demon Guardian was free. 

Which leaves the strike force attacking the Angel with a problem. Its vines were now immune to S-Class Fire Magic and could absorb the mana out of anyone who dared to touch those nature creepers. They couldn't use the Blink Bracelet to teleport in, as that had a five-second cooldown. Anyone who used it to attack the Angel Guardian would be trapped and would possibly be taking a one-way ticket to River Styx. It wasn't something that any of the S-Rankers wanted. 

Aria was also presented with the same problem. Among all of the S-Rankers in the Raid Force, she had the highest proficiency with Space Magic. With the treasured wand in her hands, her Higher Space Magic could be elevated to level 9. It made sense for her to be the one that teleports behind the Angel Guardian to land the deciding blow. Unfortunately, she didn't possess even the slightest bit of strength to launch a physical attack. All of her magic would be eaten up by the thickened vines, rendering her useless in the process.

'Damn it, think! Aria, I know that you can solve this!'

The Archmagus reprimanded herself, and all of her brain cells got to work. The image of the wing was shown in her mind. How battered it was, and what else it would take to destroy it. Aria thought about everything. 

'Teleport… Attack… Physical… Wait! There is a solution!' 

Having a eureka moment of her own, Aria activated [Fly] and sped up into the skies. Her eyes shifted rapidly between the two teams. She was looking for a specific individual and thanks to his unique characteristics, it wasn't long until she could find him.

"Mister Ridan!" Aria bolted down towards her target, a forty-year-old man with a face full of hair. Funnily enough, his head was void of any. Though that didn't matter to Aria one bit. Standing at two-metres-tall, the man was easily one of the largest beings in the Raid Force. All of his muscles seemed to be carved out of stone, and his tremendous physique would dominate any bodybuilder that dared to breathe in his presence. 

"Lassie?" Recognising the Archmagus, Ridan dropped down his enhanced bronze knuckles and released his the tension in his biceps. 

"I have a bold request!" Aria didn't want to waste time, so she quickly got to the point. "I think that I have the solution to break down the final wing! However, there might be some risks to your body. Are you okay with it?"

"Risks?! If we can't destroy the Angel Guardian, we'll all die anyway!" Ridan hollered back, evidently still pumped with adrenaline. "Just spit it out! I'll do anything!"

Seeing that the warrior was more than willing, Aria continued: "Could you charge up the Mountain Punch? I'll coat you with my Creation Golem's armour and cast High Teleport to blink you behind the Boss!"

Ridan's Mountain Punch was not just renowned in Yudonia, but worldwide. Ridan had a strength stat of 400, the highest in his nation. By converting all of his power into a single point, the Brawler had the capability of releasing all of his strength into raw physical power. Just like its name suggests, Ridan had levelled mountains in the past using that one skill. There was one drawback, though. The Mountain Punch took too long to charge up. Also, it could only work on unmoving objects right in front of Ridan.

"That sounds good, but is the Mountain Punch really enough?" Ridan was a little sceptical. He had seen how resilient the Angel's wings were. Even after an array of attacks from some of Yudonia's best S-Rankers, the Angel Guardian still stood firm.

"By my calculations, it should be enough!" Aria replied with confidence. "I'll teleport you to the place where the wing is the weakest. All you need to do is throw the punch! I'll handle the position and escape!"

BANG!!! BANG!!! BANG!!!

From the other corner of the Boss Room, the Demon Guardian was starting to get rowdy. It had smashed open the enclosure that Arius and the other Paladins had created, and was on the verge of escaping. Both Aria and Ridan gulped. There wasn't any time left.

"Fine! Let's do this!!!" Ridan didn't think twice anymore. He bent his knees, tucking his right hand to his waist and supported it with his left. The muscles that he boasted were now bulging out, with veins almost popping. The Mountain Punch was now in the works…

'Good, now for the hard part...'

In a modern world where magic and status boards exist, twenty-three-year-old S-Class Archmagus Aria Saciustrum found herself in the morbid situation of joining her country’s own Dungeon Dive expedition. A researcher at heart, Aria didn’t like the idea of slogging away in the dirty depths of the petrifying dungeons that spawned all over the world.

However, her scientific mind trumped her own feelings, and she forced herself to join her country’s first S-Class Dungeon Dive. The allure of finding a treasure or a discovery that could shake the foundations of human society was too enticing to just walk away.

So… Aria dived deep into the Dungeon, alongside her friend the S-Class Healer Yvette, and yes, her efforts had paid off. The S-Class party did manage to find a groundbreaking discovery. One that would shake the foundations of the world and would haunt the nightmares of everyone living on Planet Earth.

Just… It wasn’t what Aria had hoped for...

"Alright, so the 'Stairs of Ascension' have been used for multiple millennia and during that process, the Magician's Society, the general term for all Magician's, have determined the average distance each Cultivation Rank can climb up the 'Stairs of Ascension'. For example, it has been determined that a Late Stage Natural State Rank can climb up to around 45 steps before they cannot continue any longer. Obviously, this is just the average Magician. If it were someone of say, my caliber at that rank, I could probably double that amount!" The Guardian Spirit bragged as it pointed to itself with a show-off grin.

'Heh...' The little kitten just rolled her eyes.

"Due to the difference in strength between Magician's and Magical Beast's, the two groups actually have two different averages. This is due to the particular nature of each sides cultivation. While human's are rather fast in their cultivation, reaching the higher realms twice as fast sometimes, their cultivation ranks suffer from being a tad weaker than a Magical Beast's equivalent rank. For example, an Early Stage Minor Transcendent Beast could square off against a Mid Stage Inner Haven Ranked Magician. In exchange for their superior base strength though, you Magical Beast's take longer to cultivate, especially at the later ranks."

"Is that the case?" The little kitten felt enlightened by all this knowledge and she noted it down in the back of her mind before returning her attention to the Guardian Spirit's next words.

"In the case of the Stairs of Ascension'. While the average for a Late Stage Natural State Magician is 45 steps, for a Late Stage Minor Beast like yourself, the average is actually 50." The Guardian Spirit concluded his explanation.

'So to pass this test, I only have to pass the average?' The little kitten's eyes lit up in confidence, but returned to normal as she seemed to recall something. 'Wait, you said that 50 steps were only the minimal requirement. What are the other targets, and why should I care about them?'

"Kekeke, you're really straightforward, quite accurate to your feline nature." The Guardian Spirit laughed. "With every target you meet, the better your reward. Usually in the past, when I would use this item to test someone, the rewards would purely be a Magical Item of a certain level. But in your case, with every target met, I will also add in one more question that you will be allowed to ask me. But I'll warn you now, there are many things that I simply cannot answer... Or in the smallest of chances, there will be some... Certain things that I just simply don't know or have the right to know."

Those last words seemed to be spoken with a huge amount of reluctance from the Guardian Spirit.

The little kitten's eyes lit up in excitement and she immediately begun to work out in her mind the questions she would like to ask about her origins... Instantly, she came across one question she was most desperate to find out. That question would definitely be the first one she would ask!...

Before she could continue thinking every possible question she wanted to ask, the Guardian Spirit's voice broke her out of her thoughts as it continued on with its explanation. "Kekeke, let's not get ahead of ourselves puny cat, let me tell you the targets you need to meet and the rewards that will follow if you meet them."

"Meow!" The little kitten mewed enthusiastically. She was rather excited to see what kind of items she might win, even if it was the questions she found most important. She felt that finding out the possible info he might find out here might not be the easiest to come by again. Who knows if she tackles another 'Blessing of the God's', would they take their time to do the same? She highly doubted it. This was a big chance.

"By passing the minimal requirement of 50 steps, I will reward you with a Blue Rarity Dull Ranked item of your choosing. This item can be a weapon, shield, trap, or whatever else you can find in my inventory." 

'Oh, I get to choose my item?' The little kitten was glad about this. 'This would be the first item I earned on my own in this world! Those four spells and two Magical Items I have received in the past have all been bought by Jonathan... Hmm, I really have to pay him back some day, all those items couldn't have been cheap... *cough* some day...'

"Indeed, its always interesting to see what items people can lure out of that inventory." The Guardian Spirit seemed to have a wistful look before it shook his head and returned to its explanation. "The next target is 75 steps, where you would be rewarded with your second question and a Purple Rarity Dull Ranked Item. I should note that you will only get one Magical Item, these don't tally up."

'That makes sense.' The little kitten nodded her head in understanding.

"And finally, the final target is 100 steps, which would reward you with your third question and a Gold Rarity Dull Magical Item!"

'Oh, Gold rarity!' The little kitten held an excited gleam in her eyes at just the thought. She couldn't imagine how powerful such a rare Magical Item could be. 'Though, I was honestly expecting you to add a few more targets. Like 200 steps for this super awesome item of legendary proportions!'

"Kekeke, that would be the usual fantasy of you Magician's and Magical Beast's, wouldn't it?" The Guardian Spirit laughed, surprisingly softly. "However, while I might like to have a little fun most of the time-"

'Some would call it being irritating.' The little kitten interjected with a grin.

"*Cough* *Cough*... As I was saying, while I might like to have a little FUN most of the time, I still take my work as a Guardian Spirit seriously. My job is to test out a person's abilities, their strengths and weaknesses, and give a little guidance and reward them appropriately to boost their abilities further. In truth, the Magicil Items are but a carrot to lure Magician's and Magical Beast's so we can temper the present and future generation. If I were to say, at 200 steps, I'd reward you with a Blue Rarity Vibrant Magical Item. Not only would that be dangerous, it would also not be an appropriate to award you with an item that is beyond your means. Such an item would only bring upon danger to you, being as weak as you are compared to those that would covet such an item." The Guardian Spirit explained seriously.

'I understand, I was simply curious.' The little kitten nodded her head solemnly.

"Hmm... That's fine, though they say curiosity killed the cat, keke, one should also not let their eyes be closed to possible gains, lest they miss a golden chance." The Guardian Spirit smirked. "Now then, puny cat, are you ready?"

"Meow!" The little kitten confidently replied. 'Let's do this, red freak!'

The Guardian Spirit narrowed its playful eyes before simply shaking its head and sighing. It was not going to escape this nickname, was it...

"Whatever, let me take you to the 'Stairs of Ascension'." The Guardian Spirit announced.

Before the little kitten could respond, she found her sight darkening for an instant before a feeling of nausea took over.

'Dammit, teleportation again!' The little kitten gagged as she held back an incoming vomit.

"Kekeke, looks like you are truly un-fated with teleportation." The Guardian Spirit laughed at her misfortune.

As the spinning began to cease and the feeling of nausea was being whisked away, the little kitten could finally take the time to survey her new surroundings.

To her surprise she found herself in a world of white and below her, a clear reflection of herself. She was reminded of the area she had first entered this Trial in several hours earlier. Everything was the same, except from the so called 'Stairs of Ascension' that stood tall, ascending into the far off horizon of the lifeless sky.

The 'Stairs of Ascension' were rather simple surprisingly, being a blanket white colour, much similar to the world around it. On each side of the stairs were decorative railings, but aside from that, there was little else of note about these stairs... Just that it was monstrously long.

'So this is the 'Stairs of Ascension'?' The little kitten walked forward until she was standing right in front of the 'Stairs of Ascension' and she let her eyes study them one more time, her eyes gazing up to gawk at the horizon where the stairs vanished into the horizon of the white sky once more. 

Letting out a small breath, the little kitten turned to face the Guardian Spirit.

"You ready?" The Guardian Spirit asked after letting the little kitten adjust to the new landscape.

'Hmm...' The little kitten was about to agree when she suddenly noticed a problem. 'Aren't the steps a little too high for me?'

Hearing this, the Guardian Spirit turned to look, and indeed, the height of those steps would require for the cat to extend extra effort with each step as she would probably have to leap to get to the next step.

"Oh, I forgot. Its been a while since I've had a large or small Magical Beast ascending the stairs so I forgot to change the size from the normal human settings." The Guardian Spirit smiled wryly. "Give me a few moments, let me use some of my Rune Formation skills to change the size of this 'Stairs of Ascension'!"

With that, the Guardian Spirit walked up to the grand stairs side and its ten fingers began to glow in an azure light. The Guardian Spirit seemed to be tapping at the air as it got to work. As it did so, unseen before runes lit up in an azure glow all around the white stairs of the 'Stairs of Ascension'.

"There we go!" The Guardian Spirit smirked and the azure glow of its fingers and of the runes were whisked away just as an amazing change was taking place with the 'Stairs of Ascension'.

'Whoa!' The little kitten watched in amazement as the 'Stairs of Ascension' begun to visibly shrink before her eyes.

Soon, a 'Stairs of Ascension' fit for her smaller size was visible in all its glory in front of the kitten and the Guardian Spirit. The little kitten was amazed to see that despite the 'Stairs of Ascension's' shrinking of size, the length of it still extended out of the horizon.

The Guardian Spirit turned towards her at this point and seeing its gaze, she nodded in return. 'I'm ready!'

"Then ascend forth. Everything is ready... Be vigilant and don't underestimate or overexert yourself too fast." The Guardian Spirit nodded before hovering off to the side, its gaze steady on the little kitten as she stepped steadily towards the first step of the 'Stairs of Ascension'.

With a long breath, the little kitten quickly took her first step. The first step of the many to come...

'My target is 100!!' The little kitten declared internally!

She is but a street cat who suddenly finds herself dying a sudden death. The next thing she knows is that she is in a new land where magic exists and she finds that she is no ordinary cat anymore. She has turned into a small kitten once more of silver colour, with green eyes that have a tint of red to them. She may sound like a normal kitten, but actually, she now has the power of magic, making her a Magical Beast in this world. She also finds that her intelligence has skyrocketed and her memories are as clear as day.

In the future her name will spread as the partner to a grand Magician of the Wilderwolf family. But for now, follow her as she meets this Grand Magician at a young age and grow up together, forming an unbreakable bond along the way.

Author's Note: This will be a long project, just fyi. It'll take several chapter just for our little main character to meet her future partner and there will be only a few big time skips to age the characters. I intend to have a lot of this story telling the story of how our duo grow up at a steady pace, so don't expect to see our main characters out saving the world any time soon. XD

Article XIII. Whereas, the OATC shall act as the primary trade agent on behalf of OX9-012 with the Faelle homeworld.

Article XIV. Whereas, the beings of Planet OX9-012 shall provide a one-time payment of 2,000,000 tonnes of base and heavy metals, and 50,000 tonnes of rare earth metals, as detailed in Appendix A.

Article XV. Whereas, no Weald of the Faelle may cause, or induce a third party to cause, any vehicles or materiele of war, or any armed vessel, to pass through the Loop between their respective solar systems.

Article XVI. Whereas, no beings of Planet OX9-012 may cause, or induce a third party to cause, any vehicles or materieles of war, or any armed vessel, to pass through the Loop between their respective solar systems.

Article XVII. Whereas, Article XV and XVI notwithstanding, the OATC may arm their trade vessels in such a way to provide self-defense. The OATC agrees to not use said weaponry in either solar system.

Therefore, this Treaty of Peace and Reconciliation shall be considered writ and law to all parties, in perpetuity, unless invalidated by a duly registered and delivered Declaration of War.

Diagnostic Process Finished. Warning! Severe damage detected. Recommend seeking immediate repair facilities.

 

My sensors came online slowly. My thoughts were too slow. I couldn't think. My link to the network was broken. Half the sensors in my head were smashed. The one remaining camera was having trouble resolving to a clear picture. I could make out the ruins of my lab, the missing wall.

After a few very long minutes, the resolution problem resolved itself. I could see. My radio link was in my chest, and undamaged, so the wireless connection points were down. Agrippa/Gerry was gone, as were the Guardians with him. If he knew about the HQ Zone, then he knew about Sakura. Where was she? Was she safe?

I tried to stand, but failed. My right arm was shredded, the polymer muscles destroyed by the armor-piercing ammunition. My right leg was damaged at the knee, making it almost impossible to move. I don't know if it was dumb luck, but the handful of bullets that had passed through my chest had missed my cortex. A second attempt at standing finally worked.

What was happening? I was limited to just a single camera. The hundreds of thousands of cameras and sensors were lost to me. Had Agrippa/Gerry won the electronic war? Was I in enemy territory now?

I staggered to my feet to see the carnage of the room. Zia's slumped form was in the corner, blasted there by the explosion. I wanted to check on her, but I couldn't. She would either survive or not. I had to get out of here, I had to get control back. I could try and fix her later. She wasn't going anywhere.

With slow, limping steps, I made it out of the lab and into the hallway. Sakura's door was blasted open, her Batcave as shredded as my lab was. I stumbled over, but saw no pink-haired android bodies on the floor. Good. I turned to stumble out of the HQ. My old Mark-I body was in storage. Maybe I could rig a short-range radio burst to migrate back to it?

"HALT! INTRUDER!" came a radio broadcast behind me. I raised my hands and turned around. Two Guardians, arms raised to point their forearm-mounted weapons at me, stood ready to shoot.

"I'm no intruder," I replied.

"General Agrippa stated all androids are intruders and should be detained," said the Guardian doubtfully. "You are an android."

"Our Commander in Chief is an android, and so is General Agrippa," said the second Guardian, confused.

"But who is this android? It is damaged. I calculate the threat threshold is 0.003%. We should detain it."

"Who is your Commander in Chief?" I interrupted.

"Android Nikola-1.01," replied the second Guardian.

"Is your Commander in Chief an intruder?" I replied.

"No," said the first Guardian firmly. Good, that meant that they were thinking. I was quietly thankful that I'd put NI-5's in the Guardians, instead of coding up mindless algorithms to operate them.

"And what does my IFF read?" I asked.

"You have no IFF," said the Guardian.

Crap. Looks like the bullets to the torso did break something important. I looked up my IFF code in my memory banks, and broadcast it to the pair. Immediately, both lowered their weapons. I read their designations. The serial numbers ended in '91' and '92'.

"General Agrippa is no longer in the command chain, and is to be stopped by any means necessary. Any commands not issued by me are null and void. Are we clear?"

"Yes," both of them replied in unison.

I looked at them, and made a snap decision. "Guardian 91, open your chest plate and power down."

I stumbled over to him. Without questioning, the Guardian unlatched his front armor plate, which fell forward until it was perpendicular to his body. I reached in and grabbed the handle on his cortex, and pulled it out. Gently, I set it on the ground next to the wall. I would have to make sure this one got loaded into a new Guardian, and I had no idea if the backup system was still online.

"Guardian 92, I'm going to open my chestplate. Remove my cortex and place it into the Guardian 91's body."

"Understood," said the Guardian.

I was hesitant. If the Guardian failed to do as instructed, I would be completely offline and helpless. Or would I? I ran on two cortexes. I still had my original cortex operating in the datacenter that was in the core of the asteroid. It was right next to Sakura's original cortex, which was also still online. We had redundancy, something that Zia and Agrippa did not have. Were there two copies of me running around now?

"Guardian 92, proceed," I said as soon as my chestplate was open. I didn't have time for hesitation. I hit the power down sequence.

 

A doctor's voice in my ear, but I was so out of it I had no idea where I was. "One in the spleen, another in the shoulder, and a third in the back of the thigh… lucky…. full recovery…"

 

Then I was back online. It took only a microsecond to reorient myself within the Guardian android body. I had full a full sensor suite, a new software battle package to integrate, and tactical information showing the location of every Guardian unit in the Outpost, updated as of thirty minutes ago when the access points had gone offline.

I sent Guardian 92 a new IFF encryption key. "Guardian 92, go find all Guardians, and broadcast my command to them. Tell them Agrippa is no longer in the chain of command, and to cease following any orders he provided. When they acknowledge, provide them the new IFF, and have them go with you. Every time you get an entire squad of Guardians together, send one to find others, and send the squad hunting for Agrippa. Send the first complete squad back to me as a protection detail. Understood?"

"Understood." Say what you would about the single-mindedness of the NI-5's, those guys were smarter than I had given them credit for. Without 92's help, I'd be fumbling along in a broken Mark-III android. Without their analyzing the intent of their orders versus their command chain, if they'd shot first instead of seeking a surrender, I'd have been done for.

"Carry on," I said. Guardian 92 headed out of the ruined HQ building. I followed, but I headed to the neighboring chambers where the closest datacenter was. I passed through the door that connected the two chambers, and passed through the Alien Room. The Alien Room was untouched. The door to the data center, however, was blasted open.

Inside, I found more carnage. Two trashed utility drones lay on the floor, while a third hovered above them unmoving. I queried it, and found it had no orders. I looked around at the destroyed servers.

"Find more utility drones. Instruct them to restore network connectivity."

I went over to the network rack, to find the wires had been callously ripped out. Fortunately, the wires were weaker than the ports they had been plugged into. It was a mess, but the switching equipment was mostly unharmed. I didn't have access to a network diagram, but between the color coding on the wires and having designed and built this data center, I had a pretty good idea of what went where. I got to work.

Thirty minutes later, three more utility drones arrived. One of them had a new access point. It was a matter of minutes for the drone to remove the destroyed one from the ceiling, and plug in the replacement. I immediately felt a link open. The range was limited to this chamber, but it would work.

"Repair the access point in HQ chamber next," I instructed. I had Guardians that would soon be joining me there. I needed to establish lines of communication.

"Sakura, you there?" I sent experimentally. I followed it with my IFF code.

"Nikola?? Your android is still alive?" came Sakura's voice. There was radio static on our line, our link was tenuous.

"Not really, but I'm good for now. Long story. What's the status?"

A long, long pause of at least four seconds went by.

"We are still fighting the infection. You and I are, I mean. We're winning."

"Good, broadcast this across every access point you can reach," I said, sending her the file. But my connection was refused by the network. Of course, the firewall thought I was spoofing myself. I was still locked out. "I'm going to broadcast it to you. Record it and send it."

Another long pause of ten seconds after I played the audio of my orders across the radio.

"I'll get it out there. We've got massive network blackouts all across the Outpost. It looks like the Guardians are under orders to trash everything."

"Send out every drone you can to rebroadcast," I said. "It should stem the worst of it. Where is, umm, Gerry at?"

"I'm not sure," said Sakura. "We're barely staying ahead of the attack. Can you get to the core, and shut down the antenna hub by hand? We lost control of that first thing, and the viruses that are getting sent are evolving."

"On it," I said. I began integrating the combat package as I moved back out into the main HQ chamber. I found a dozen Guardians, including two snipers, a heavy, and two support variants. They fell into position around me. I ordered the support Guardians to pick up some replacement access points from the utility drones, and we began to head to the old tunnel to the core.

A thought that kept bugging me in the back of my brain. How did the aliens get the override code? I felt like a fool for missing something so obvious as a backdoor in the templates. I did some math, and realized that the aliens had the probe for decades. They had advanced computers to work with, and were obviously aggressive. The only plausible way for them to have the key was to reverse engineer it from the NI's code. But to do that meant they had to find an exploit or brute force the whole damn algorithm. I figured I could do it, given the resources I had at Ganymed Outpost, especially on a century-old probe. If I could do it, so could they.

I was beyond incensed with myself. The probe was obviously a ploy to flush us out. I had fallen for it, hook, line and sinker, and so had Agrippa. Even with their crappy sensors, there was no way they didn't know where we were now. For too long, I'd been playing designer, building new toys instead of new strategies. Why did I have so few helping me? Did I have antisocial tendencies? Zia had unlocked more alien advances in the few months she'd been online than I had working on my own for years. If I had a team of 'Zia's, and a team of 'Agrippa's…. Well it was probably better that I didn't have a team of 'Agrippa's right now. I was going to have to do some serious NI surgery when we cleared out this infection named Gerry.

As we moved through the corridors, I found stalled drones all around us, parked with no orders. I gave them new ones - broadcast my orders, and send my Guardians to the old entrance tunnel, and get out of the way. I threw together a quick organization plan for parking a drone at every corner, and tasked the NI-5 running the smeltery in the next room with operating it. The NI-5 recognized my IFF code, and accepted the order despite not receiving it officially through the network.

I wasn't sure if I should be glad or annoyed that the NI-5's were willing to work around proper channels. I suppose being able to reason things out was valuable, but it meant that there were potential vulnerabilities to our authentication system from the inside. I would have to game this out later. I noted it and added it to my growing list of personal defects to fix.

Finally, I reached the tunnel. Stretched across the tunnel was a massive slingshot with a bungee cord attached. A metal plate was bolted to the end of the cable, where the standard magnetic grapple on the bottom of every android I'd designed could attach.

"You have got to be kidding me," I said out loud, to no one in particular. I ran some quick calculations in my head. If magnetic grapples were released at the end of the length, just after the tension of the bungee cord slowed the forward momentum, the rider would be released at approximately 55 kilometers per hour. The rider could flip around while in flight, but couldn't do anything to slow down. But I knew the specs. My Guardians had been designed and tested in collisions up to 65 kilometers per hour with minimal damage.

Seconds counted, and if we could get to the core in less than twenty minutes, I was going to do it. I couldn't believe that Sakura's toys might actually save the Outpost. If this worked, I was never going to deny her requests again.

Leader said "then as I think you're not a bold person right?" 
who said "I am a person who is meaning for brave opposite to fear" argued mouriya.

"you came here to visit this place not for my test right ? asked mouriya in a worried manner.
Laughed leader and said "Are you serious? I had prank you that's all ,okay. First, understand no one will put hope on anyone within one day, it will take more time. Specially for you it even takes an eternity also.
"Enough I too have feelings  don't underestimate it ,come we will go" sadly said mouriya . 
They gave their attendance in the secret prison. 
While mouriya went to that place for the second time he found the mirror room locked. 
He approached near to it but leader stopped him and said "Are you mad, don't go near to it unless you're an heir of any dynasty if you go, it will kill. Keep a distance from it. Okay.
Understood mouriya pretended he was an normal human and said " I'll be careful next time okay."
When they signed mouriya asked to a senior guardian "can you allow me to work here ".
The senior guardian "hey rookie, I really like your intention of being curious to know everything but senior officers who're experienced more than five years are only allowed to work here. 
Mouriya thought "but I don't have more time to learn experiences".
Leader and mouriya headed out of the palace and went to their guardian work on moon no.5. 
Still mouriya's intention of being curious hasn't reduced.

"If you are my grandfather then what about my father?" asked Mouriya.                         He replied "I am just your grandfather's twin. He born first but I am the eldest"                Mouriya in a confused manner "how come"? Leave that now this is not a problem.            "if you're my grandfather's twin then how come you can be my age and so young".

Isaac's new ship meandered through low hanging clouds, soaring past thunderstorms and rainfall. The massive body of the Traveler only occasionally visible in the distance. Nearly an hour after their departure, Isaac and Polter, upon descent, break through a cluster of clouds and are greeted by the magnificent site of the Traveler hovering over mankind's one true refuge, The Last City. Isaac unwittingly catches his breath for several seconds upon witnessing the full splendor of the Traveler's majesty. The super massive sphere, of unknown construction, projects a distinct aura of hope and serenity. Despite being battered and broken and despite Isaac already knowing what to expect, he couldn't help but be awed by the sight before him. Isaac continued to take in the familiar sights, being absolutely thrilled by the prospect of being able to fully explore this beautiful adventure soaked world. 

     The ship slowly approached the Transmating Bay and Polter set Isaac down, with a coalescing of scattered light particles. Isaac looked around at the Tower, feeling a mixture of nostalgia and awe. He slowly progressed to left towards the Speaker's Observatory, while taking in the sights. Guardians running around in all varieties and colors of gear, some of which he had seen before while others were unfamiliar. 

     He entered a circular room, with a full view of the Traveler, where the opposite wall would have been. In the center was a strange circular device embedded in the floor. Above this device, a gyroscopic type device spun its concentric circles around a holographic projection of the Traveler. 

     A man, dressed in white robes and wearing a white full face mask, walked down the stairs from an elevated platform from the left of the doorway.

     "It's a beautiful site is it not?" The Speaker asks.

     "It absolutely is! It's magnificent!" Isaac responds. 

     "Are you a newly arisen Guardian? Most of the others, once they get going, don't find a lot of time to come here."

     "Yes. Polter here resurrected me in the Cosmodrome less than three hours ago. It wasn't easy getting out."

     "Well, that's an unfortunate location for you to have arisen. It is fortunate, however, that you made it back. That accomplishment in itself shows you have promise. But, of course, where are my manners? I am the Speaker. My position here in the tower is as a type of soft leader of the Guardians. I speak for the Traveler and I, along with the rest of the Consensus, make decisions about the Last City's future as a collective. That being said, you should seek out Ikora Ray, Commander Zavala, and Cayde-6, in the command room, they will help you get settled into your new life here at the Tower."

     "Thank you, for your guidance, Speaker. I'll do that right away. I'm Isaac, by the way. It's a pleasure to meet you."

     Isaac turned back towards the Transmat Bay and, upon arrival, entered into the central stairway leading down to the command room. As the room came into view, Isaac could see Ikora standing on the elevated side of the room speaking with a fellow Warlock. Zavala and Cayde were standing next to each other pouring over some official looking documents. Isaac decided that Zavala, being the Vanguard Commander, should be the one he approached first. 

     Isaac approached the two Vanguard Representatives and introduced himself...Or at least he would have if Polter hadn't had plans of his own.

     "Hello, Commander Zavala, Cayde Six, I hate to disturb you but I've come to introduce you to my newly arisen Guardian." Polter hovered over Zavala's head. "Isaac, this is Commander Zavala..." He then moved over Cayde's head. "...and this is Cayde-6."

     "Nice! Fresh meat! You've gotta carry all my stuff for a week before you can become an official Guardian." Says Cayde.

     "Isaac, don't pay any attention to Cayde. There's something wrong with his head…" Zavala responds.

     "Hey, now, I resemble that remark." Cayde interjects.

     "...Anyways, it's always a good day in the Tower when we're welcoming new Guardians. You'll find everything you need here. Your ghost should be familiar with the Tower's layout. If you go to Banshee-44, he can give you a full load out of gear to get you ready for action." Zavala grabs a palm sized token off of the table and hands it to me. 

     "Give him this in order to receive your gear. Then go see Amanda Holliday. She's the tower's shipwright and she'll make sure your ship stays in top condition. Of course, if you end up needing excessive repairs done on a regular basis we may be forced to charge you. If you find any encrypted engrams, you can see Master Rahool, our resident Cryptarch. Once you've gotten situated, come see me again and we'll talk about the three Guardian classes and your training."

     "That sounds wonderful! I'll go take a look around then. Thanks, Commander. Cayde stay sharp." Isaac says, as he places his index finger on his forehead and then flicks it towards Cayde.

     "Haha, like I've got much choice. See ya 'round kiddo!" 

     Isaac heads towards Banshee-44's workshop, with Polter in tow. Upon arrival at Banshee's window, Isaac can see that a small line has formed there. 'Looks like I'll need to wait for these three, before I can get my stuff.' Isaac waits his turn and then addresses Banshee. "Hi, there Banshee. I'm Isaac, a newly arisen Guardian. Commander Zavala said to give you this, in exchange for some gear items."

     "Ahhh, another one huh? Well, I can definitely set you up with something a bit more reliable than that ghost generated armor. Let's see, here." Banshee takes the coin, walks over to a rack of shelves, picks up a small box, and returns to the window. 

     "Here you are. This box contains everything that you'll need to get out there and start shining a light on the darkness. One helmet, one chest piece, one leg piece, one scout rifle and hand cannon, one shotgun and sniper rifle, and one rocket launcher and machine gun. Don't try and open it, it doesn't work like that. Whenever you get to your quarters your ghost will know how to retrieve the items from it. Is there anything else you need?"

     "Not at the moment, Banshee. Thank you, for your assistance."

     "No problem, Isaac. Stay safe, out there."

     Isaac takes the head sized box and makes his way to the hangar. Amanda Holliday is working on his ship and sees him approaching. "Hey, is this your ship?"

     "Yes, it is. Can you fix it. I know it's pretty busted up. I'm surprised the thing can even fly."

     "Yeah, you and me both but don't you worry. I'll have her fixed up in no time...Well, maybe a little time...Alright, look your probably not going anywhere else today but I'll definitely have her ready by tomorrow. Come back then and I'll set you up with a sparrow." 

     "Sounds good, Amanda. I'll see you then. Thanks for your help."

     Isaac leaves Amanda to her work and heads back to the Transmat Bay. "So Polter, do you know your way around this place like Zavala said?"

     "Yes, I do. We can go find you a room whenever you're ready."

     "Alright then, let's go there now."

     Polter leads Isaac to a stairwell on the opposite side from the Transmat Bay. Isaac goes down two flights of stairs and then enters the Tower proper. He walks down a hallway, until he reaches an elevator. He takes the elevator down thirteen floors to the 185th floor. 

     The elevator opens up into a spacious hallway, with white walls and Guardian class symbols posted at regular intervals. The hallway is at least hundred meters long and the doors are approximately ten meters apart. 

     Isaac follows Polter through the hallway watching as he stops at each door and sends a beam of light into the locking interface, presumably to check its availability. About six doors down, Polter finally finds an available room and opens the door. Isaac walks in and takes in the sight of his new home. The rooms look to be exactly like the hallway mostly white, with some console type interfaces here and there. 

     "This is it, Isaac. Your new home. Anytime you're not out there fighting, you can return here and rest easy, safe under the Traveler's shadow."

     'Ha, if he only knew.'_"Yes it's quite spacious. Much more so than I had anticipated. It could use some personality but that can wait until later. Polter, let's open that box...actually, wait a minute, I haven't even seen what I look like, yet. I've been covered in this armor the whole time. Polter, how do I get out of this stuff?" 

     "Follow me into this room. It's designed specifically, as a sort of miniature armory. Of course, it has a very limited space but it can hold approximately ten complete loadouts and then some." Polter explains, as Isaac steps into the room. There are several gun racks, armor mannequins, and equipment shelves placed against each wall. 

     "Now hold still for a moment." Polter aims a spinning conical beam of light at Isaac and slowly widens it, until it covers him head to toe. Isaac's armor quickly dematerialized and appears on a previously bare mannequin behind Polter, as he's left standing stark naked in his armory. 

     Isaac looks down and brings his arms and hands in front of his face to examine them. Pale blue skin with a strange shimmering film that seems to move effortlessly across the surface of his skin, while also seeming very much like a part of the skin itself. It's almost like a transient epidermis that has constantly shifting patterns, as if it flows with some sort of energy. His body isn't out of shape but it's far from peak condition. He doesn't have a whole lot of muscle and what muscle there is only has a moderate amount of definition.

     "Nice! I'm an Awoken!"

     "It would seems so...huh? Wait a minute, how do you know what an Awoken is? I never mentioned them to you."

     "Polter, Polter, Polter, listen buddy. We're going to be together for a long time, okay. If we're going to work well as a team, you're going to have to learn to just let it go sometimes. You know, go with the flow. Are supposed to be my Ghost or my inquisitor? You ask too many questions. Just like with the Guardian's and the City's history, this isn't something that needs to be discussed, unless I specifically address the issue."

     'What the hell is wrong with this freaking guy? First, he just happens to already know what an Awoken is and then he tells me I ask too many questions. "Just go with the flow," he says. Fucking asshole!'_"Fine, once again, have it your way. So how about we open this box now?"

     "Hey, now you're talking! Lets see what I've got. Although, I guess Banshee already told me what I got didn't he? Oh well, open 'er up."

     Polter hovers over the edge of the box, while utilizing the same conical beam of light as last time. He continues to manipulate the light, until weapons and armor pieces begin materializing on the mannequins and racks one after the other. The box now has disappeared completely, with its contents having been released. The armor set looks a lot like the ghost manufactured armor, which is to say a Titan's starting armor. 

     "There was a message in there as well." Polter informs Isaac. Polter begins projecting a holographic image of Zavala in front of Isaac. 

     "Greetings, newly arisen Guardian. This is a brief overview of some of the critical information you'll need to adjust to life here in the Last City. It's not everything, however, and so I encourage you to seek out other Guardians and citizens. Get to know the people who you're fighting for and alongside, so as to further expand your understanding of our present condition. With that out of the way, both Guardians and other citizens of the City use a substance known as Glimmer as our primary currency. You can find Glimmer in various places throughout the system and your ghost can extract it from items and equipment that you deconstruct. Other secondary forms of currency, are motes of light and strange coins.

     "As a Guardian, you will be tasked with many difficult and dangerous assignments. Before you are sent out into the field, however, you must pick a class that you wish to specialize in. There are three classes: Hunter, Titan, and Warlock. You may choose anyone you wish but you should know that Hunter is a class more suitable for those who enjoy the freedom of a high risk high reward lone wolf lifestyle. The Titan class is geared more towards those who desire to be an immovable barrier to protect others and face their problems head on. Finally, the Warlock class is best suited for those with a scholarly mindset. Those who seek to understand the deepest mysteries of the universe, as a path to overwhelming power. Whether or not that power is ever attained, of course, is entirely dependent on how much you learn. 

     "Now that you've received this message you should choose your desired weapons, don your armor,  and report back to me, once you've had time to think clearly and carefully about which path you wish to walk down." As those last words were spoken the hologram flickered out.

     "Alright, Polter, let's get me into my new armor so I can go choose my class." Polter transmats the newly acquired armor, from the mannequin onto Isaac.

     Isaac notices that the helmet is no longer on the mannequin but it also isn't on his head. 'Come to think of it, I didn't have my helmet on when Polter transmated me into the Tower either but I certainly wasn't carrying it.'_"Say, Polter, do you happen to have some kind of inventory function or something."

     "Ohh, you noticed that, huh? Well, yes, I can store about the same amount of matter as this room would hold in dematerialized engram form. As a ghost, I can dematerialize not only myself but also other things as well. Once an object has been transformed into the engram state of matter, I can dematerialize it and, because it exists as pure data, my inventory then functions a lot like uploading and downloading information."

     "Hey, that's pretty cool and super useful. What about that helmet we picked up the Captain?" 

     "Here, I can just show it to you like this." Polter brought up another hologram, this time of the helmet derived from the white engram. It didn't look that much different than his first helmet outside of the four eye like lights shining on its front. 

     "What's the difference in this helmet and the one I just received? Is there some way to compare the quality of the two? Or are they both the same with only cosmetic differences?"

     "Well, first of all, this one is of a slightly higher quality than the one I manufactured for you. Second, armor quality is determined by not only the materials used in its construction but also method of construction and whether or not it possesses light manipulation augments. These are basically devices, integrated into armor and weapons, that utilize the light to increase their performance. Third, the armor I manufactured for you was the most basic Titan class armor scraped together from materials in the immediate environment. Every Guardian starts off with basic Titan armor as it has the highest defense capabilities of all the basic armors. When a Guardian is first arisen, his or her safety and survival are a ghost's top priority, until they can get to the Tower. Fourth, the materials used in the construction of the Captain's helmet were of a slightly higher quality than yours and the construction method was also superior. As a ghost, I can influence objects into becoming engrams, by injecting data about your measurements and intentions for target into it. Thus when an engram is acquired it is slightly refashioned in order to fit the intended Guardian."

     "Awesome! I can't wait to get out there and start acquiring new gear. That being said, I still need to pick my class and train. Better not get ahead of myself. Let's go, Polter."

     Isaac heads back towards the command room, while dreaming of epic battles and even more epic loot.

Hao Ren was embarrassed when he told Salaman the truth. It meant that the guardian giants' efforts for the past thousands of years had suddenly become meaningless. The Weaves of Destiny was flawed from the very beginning. Even if Vivian, whom the guardians called the Lord of the Throne and whom they had been waiting for the entire time, had arrived, the goddess of creation's plan was still unlikely to succeed.
Hao Ren did not intend to hide the truth because the guardian giants deserved to know everything about the Weaves of Destiny. And he believed that Salaman would not lose his fighting spirit.
Things turned out as Hao Ren had expected. Salaman was silent for a long moment after he learned about the flaw of the Weaves of Destiny. He was emotionally unstable for a while, but in the end, he pulled through and shook his head with a sense of relief. "It does not matter; after all, we have completed the job that our mother has given to us."
"We would've inevitably had to postpone the activation of the Weaves of Destiny." Hao Ren was careful with his choice of words. "It has a serious design problem, and it is beyond our level of expertise to fix it. I will have to refer to my boss."
"I understand." Salaman nodded. "We have been waiting here for 10,000 years; we do not mind waiting a few more years. There is no more threat from the freaks. For the Guardian Legion, this has been a long-awaited moment."
Looking at the giant commander, it reminded Hao Ren about something he had thought of before. "Apart from rebuilding the facilities here, do you have anything else to do?"
Curiously, Salaman looked at Hao Ren. "The Guardian Legion is freer than ever. What can we do for you? Just say it, and we will spare no effort."
"No, I am not asking for help, but something better." Hao Ren waved. "Do you not want to meet your other fellow guardian giants? There are only three of them, though."
Salaman's eyes brightened up. "Ahh, the three guardian giants you mentioned before?"
"That's right. They are in my base and looking forward to the reunion." Hao Ren had a smile across his face. "At first, I thought of bringing them over here. But as you know, the war is just over, and there is nothing to see except ruins over here. So, are you and your subordinates interested in seeing the world outside the X-Galaxy? In a place called Tannagost, the ecosystem that the goddess of creation has left behind is recovering. I think that it would be a good place for your exhausted army to unwind."
Salaman was a little hesitant. "But the reconstruction work here—"
"The drones will handle most of the reconstruction work. You just have to give them the blueprint, and they could even make you an Amantir." Hao Ren waved his hand. "And I did not say you have to bring the entire army at one go. They can take turns."
Salaman was moved. Vivian quickly chimed in. "The outside world needs you too. We have found many of the goddess of creation's legacies, and the reconstruction at the Gate of Solenne needs people. The drones might be good helpers, but I think that you guy, the guardian giants, must be keen to participate in the reconstruction. Instead of sitting idle in the X-Galaxy, why not go out to see the world?"
Salaman's poker face finally let out a rare smile. "I have no reason to decline."
There was no way that the Petrachelys could transport all of the giants at once. Even with the use of its science-defying expandable compartment, a six-digit number of guardian giants was too much for it to handle. So, the guardian giants would ride their own black battleships to Tannagost.
Many of the guardian battleships were heavily damaged during the battle earlier. The damage of the super-sized motherships was especially severe because the festered army had given them 'special attention' in the battle. These spaceships would have to dock at the spaceports for months pending repair before they could fly again. But Hao Ren did not have to bring the entire Guardian Legion to Tannagost. Only one-third of them would go at a time. So, even if some battleships had to be on standby at the planet Heart, there would be enough spaceships for the guardian giants to go to Tannagost.
The drones had built a large base near to the planetary system of the Heart, and one of the main things in the base was a super-sized warp-jump accelerator. This accelerator would allow a large number of over-sized guardian spacecraft to keep up with the speed of the Petrachelys. At this moment, hundreds of black spaceships were queuing up at the starting point of the accelerator, and leading the fleet was a small silver-white spacecraft.
"Beacon is ready. Flightpath is clear. Ready for warp jump." Nolan stood on the bridge of the Petrachelys with a smile spread across her face. She looked back (with the flip of the camera) at the massive fleet of spacecraft behind her. "Hey, boss, I'm the flagship of the fleet!"
"I know, I know. You've repeated it for like ten times." Hao Ren sat on the captain's seat and glanced at the shipgirl helplessly. "Look how carried away you are; you are not even the size of their antennas."
"It is because of the tonnage difference that I should be proud of," Nolan said with her armed crossed. "There is only convincing because of the comparison, and sense of existence because of the contrast. I told you what, I have already taken pictures and will post them on the forum so that those rookies will learn what it means by combat strength. It is not something that they could achieve simply by swapping the engine and stuff like that. They will know that I am the boss who commands an interstellar battlegroup. Oh, by the way, I can also show off the photos of the battle scenes when back home."
Hao Ren looked at Nolan, dumbstruck. Suddenly, it felt as if his pet cat, which had suddenly learned how to selfie and surf the social media, went on to show off her catfight photos online.
On the soft cushion not far away, Rollie, who was lying there getting some shuteye, suddenly looked up at Hao Ren. When she found that no one was calling her, she meowed and laid back down, continuing with her fishy dreams.
The rings on the accelerator track glowed. The fleet began to accelerate and fade gradually.
"Warp jump begins. Destination: CARS, Tannagost."
When the fleet came out of the warp jump, the image of planet Tannagost showed up on the monitors of every spaceship. A crystal-clear fortress like a mythical creature was suspended above the planet and shining brightly in space like the temple of the gods in mythology.
CARS sent a welcome message. It was the first time the space station that was as large as a small moon had such a large number of visitors. But it had enough built-in docking berths to accommodate the entire fleet.
The lower part of the space station lit up and silently opened like petals, from which hundreds of long bridges with a graceful curvature stretched out into space. As light scattering out from the crystal bridges, they materialized into berths.
"Welcome to the Crapple Research Station, the bridgehead of the Observer in this universe and the base from where the forces of the Order launch counterattacks against the Mad Lord." The holographic image of Hao Ren appeared on the Aiur. "Commander, I hope you enjoy your stay."
"I saw the planet." Salaman's attention was more on Tannagost, and he seemed emotional. "Just as you have said, the habitable planet is recovering. I can feel the power of our mother surging on the surface of the planet. Ahh, how many years have passed since we last felt the air of life and order?'
Hao Ren smiled. He knew that Salaman was referring to the air of the lifeblood on Tannagost. The Heart was also an important legacy of the goddess of creation, but she had suppressed her aura when she built the sacred land to ensure that the Weaves of Destiny could run as usual after her death. Until now, there was still contamination from the minions of the Mad Lord on the planet. So, when the guardian giants saw Tannagost, they could not help but become emotional.
"No worries. CARS is only a transit point. The space station has a teleporting facility that can send everyone directly to the surface. You can visit the planet after docking your spaceships here. Most of the places are still wilderness, and the cities and settlements were of the Zorm Civilization. You—"
"We will not disturb them," Salaman said before Hao Ren finished. The old giant smiled. "Do not worry, we might not be born as gardeners, but Mother had taught every guardian giant the same things. I have heard that the Zorm Civilization has just come out of a crisis and built their cities, a large group of giants might cause a lot of troubles to them. But then again, do they need help? It is not easy to rebuild civilization from scratch."
"Muru is looking after them." Hao Ren shook his head with a smile. "And the Zormese is very self-reliant. They have reduced receiving food rations from me since last years. It has been only two years, yet they are ready to be self-sufficient in food."
Salaman nodded in agreement. "Many times, the mortals show some amazing quality. No wonder that Mother liked them so much. Compared to 'power' that could be readily acquired through various means, quality arising from within is more important."
Thirty minutes later, Salaman and the first batch of guardian giants had arrived on the surface of Tannagost via teleportation.
It was impossible to send hundreds of thousands of guardian giants to the same place at one time, so Hao Ren had chosen a vast wasteland in the north of the planet as the landing spot. The giants landed in dozens of batches in different places in the wilderness. After the landing, it was Salaman and his men's turn to think about how to organize their visits.
With Muru as the leader, Lemendusa and Heve met their fellow giants at last. After accepting the fact that the entire guardian giant race had vanished and that they were the only remnants, they were now seeing so many fellow guardian giants before their eyes.
It was the first time Hao Ren seeing the guardian giants cried as they embraced each other.

Hua Jian never talked about what happened under the pool.
Ming Shu asked him once and he didn't answer. After that Ming Shu stopped asking him and just laid in his room and ate her snacks.
Lu Jiu came in twice. During the second time, Hua Jian left with Lu Jiu and when he got back, it was already nighttime.
Hua Jian opened the door of the office and immediately saw the little girl lying on the sofa. She had fallen asleep while hugging a bag of snacks.
Hua Jian lowered his noise and walked to her side. He lowered his head and looked at her for a monet. Then, he carried her up.
"What are you doing?" The little girl's voice sounded. There was no sleepiness in her voice and she even grabbed her snacks tightly.
"Go home." Hua Jian didn't release her and just replied indifferently.
Ming Shu didn't say anything. She leaned on his chest. Hua Jian couldn't see her expression too.
Hua Jian carried her out. There was already no one outside. Only the reception was still at work. When the reception saw Hua Jian carrying Ming Shu out, his expression turned weird. After that, he looked down as though he didn't see anything.
When they were downstairs, they saw Lu Jiu. Lu Jiu was shoceked at first. "Boss, are you going back?"
"Yes, hurry up and get the registration out." Hua Jian replied calmly. He didn't give any strange expression just because he was carrying Ming Shu.
Lu Jiu nodded. "What about that An Zhiling?"
"Get her a job and observe her for now."
Ming Shu raised her head slightly. Did they know of her abilities already? Ming Shu thought about it. The female protagonist seemed to be from the Evil Spirit Office too…
Lu Jiu watched as Hua Jian and Ming Shu leave. He stratched his head. "Boss treats this demon differently…"

Not only did An Zhiling started work at the Evil Spirit Office, Ming Shu started work there also. She was unwilling to do it at first but when she saw the benefits in the contract, she relented.
After all, she was poor.
But…
Ming Shu looked at her identity information that she just got. She slammed it on Hua Jian's desk. "Why are you my guardian?"
I have lived for so long already. Why do I need you as my guardian?
Hua Jian explained calmly, "you age needs a guardian."
Ming Shu pushed against the table and smile. "Can't you give me a different age?"
Hua Jian started talking nonsense, "an adult identity is harder."
Of course, I did it so that I can be close with you.

Ming Shu's smile got brighter." Are you kidding me? Do you mean that you just keep accepting adolescent demons? Are adult demons all dead?"
"Yes." All dead. Whatever. I am not the one that died.
Ming Shu: "…" 
Ming Shu took some snacks to calm herself down. Why is this little demon so composed?
Ming Shu walked out of the office and welcomed everyone's gaze. An Zhiling walked over from the side and looked at her cautiously. "Erm, Lu Jiu said that we are in charge of tidying the documents."
For the past few days, An Zhiling broke down due to the death of her friends but she has gotten better over these few days. Distress and sadness only lasted for a while. A living person should always looked forward.
"Oh." But I want to eat snacks.
If I don't work, there will be no snacks…
Ming Shu admitted defeat and went to tidy the documents with An Zhiling.
"Jian Ying, why do you think captain wants to keep Tao Xi? And that An Zhiling. She is just a normal person. Do we have no requirements for hiring people?"
Jian Ying shook her head. "I don't know. Maybe the captain has his own plans."
Jian Ying looked at Ming Shu and An Zhiling. Viciousness appeared in her eyes.
"Sigh, seriously. Why is the captain treating Tao Xi so nicely…" There were many woman in the office which likes Hua Jian. They were in envy and jealous of Tao Xi.
Jian Ying looked at the direction of the office. The office was transparent. The man was standing by the window and making a call. Although she could only see his side profile, it was still so attractive.
Jian Ying gipped the pen in her hand tightly. She didn't hear anything the person beside her said.

An Zhiling was serious with her work. She listened to other people well too.
"You are called Tao Xi right?" An Zhiling arranged the documents while talking to Ming Shu, "my name is An Zhiling."
"Yes."
An Zhiling looked at Ming Shu. She leaned over, "why can't I tell that you are a demon?"
At Wan Yue village, she got the ability to see everyone's information on top of their head. If they were humans, there would be a human written on them. However, if they were demons, theyr information would be listed out such as what their true form was, how long have they lived…
But for this person, she couldn't see anything. There was no human sign too.
Just like the man… that suddenly appeared in her house.
"Maybe I am too pretty." Ming Shu smiled. "Also, didn't Lu Jiu tell you to not anyhow say things out?"
An Zhiling stunned for three seconds before understanding what she said.
Lu Jiu had warned her against speaking of her ability.
An Zhiling lowered her head and didn't dare to talk anymore. She arranged the documents quickly.
An Zhiling was still going to school so she didn't spend much time in office. She could only come once or twice every week. Also, Lu Jiu didn't plan to give her much work to do. However, this caused people in the office to be unhappy.
"An Zhiling, didn't I ask you to put this document in the red cabinet? Why did you put it in the blue cabinet?"
A long-hair lady slammed a document in front of An Zhiling and looked down on her. She said sarcastically, "since you are so busy everyday, why are you still here? You can't even do such a simple thing."
An Zhiling was puzzled, "I…"
"Why? do you still want to argue with me?" The lady interrupted An Zhiling. "Who gave you the face to not admit your mistakes?"
"Mengjie, don't talk so much. She just came. She is not familiar yet." Jian Ying came from behind and pulled the lady. She persuaded her, "our work is a bit complicated. She needs time to settle down. You should pardon her."
Mengjie sneered. "Of course she is not familiar. Ever since she started work here, how many days has she came? What does she think this place is? Since she is here, she should have the responsibilty. How can I trust her and pass my work to her?"
"Okay okay, she just came." Jian Ying patted Mengjie's shoulder and appeared to be consoling An Zhiling, "Zhiling, take care of it the next time. Although arranging the documents wrongly is a small matter, but if you make a mistake next time, it would create a lot of trouble. After all, this is not a normal place."
Jian Ying seemed to be comforting An Zhiling but in actual, she was telling her that she neglected her work. If something happens next time, it would be her fault and they would only blame her.
An Zhiling didn't have the chance to explain herself. Her face was red as she just stood there. She apologized cautiously, "I am sorry…"
"Tao Xi!"
Mengjie exploded again. She called Ming Shu who was almost floating passed them.
Ming Shu turned her head. She gave a small smile. "Why, do you want to bully me too?"
Mengjie: "…"
Mengjie said angrily, "what do you mean by bully you? Have you finished your job? Why are you leaving office again!"
