ABALA ako sa paglalagay ng black pearl at white pearl sa large plastic cup nang may babaing lumapit sa counter. And guess who is she? Siya lang naman yung morenang babae na nagmaldita sa akin sa school kanina. As usual, kasama niya yung dalawang alipores niya na nakaupo sa table malapit sa counter.

"Good evening, Ma'am, welcome to Gooma Cafe. Ano pong order nila?" magalang na tanong ko kay Morena Girl.

"Yes. Can I order two large brown sugar milktea with black pearl and one large wintermelon milktea with white pearl and egg pudding." mataray na sagot niya.

"Okay po. Two large brown sugar milktea with black pearl and one large winterme---"

"Wait. I change my mind. Can you change white pearl into black pearl. Tsaka ayoko na ng wintermelon. Much better if kung almond na lang yung sa akin." sabi niya, dahilan para maguluhan na ako, pero 'di ko yun pinahalata sa kanya.

"Okay po. So, almond milktea with white pearl instead of black pea----"

"Sandali. Ayoko na ng almond. Ahm, ano na lang, ah. One large oreo matcha cheesecake milktea with black pearl, white pearl and egg pudding. Thank you." and she smirked devilishly at me.

"Ahm, Ma'am, baka pwede pong pag-isipan nyo po muna ang order ninyo." mahinahong sabi ko.

"Why? Hindi ka ba makasunod?" tanong niya sa akin with matching taas kilay pa. Grr. Kung hindi ka lang customer dito sa cafe, baka kanina pa kita naupakan dyan.

"Ma'am, h-hindi naman po sa ganun. Mukha po kasing hindi kayo ready na mag-order." sagot ko habang pilit kong pinapakalma ang sarili ko sa walang manners na babaing nasa harap ko.

"Really? Ako ang hindi ready na mag-order? O baka naman ikaw ang hindi ready na gawin ang order namin. You know what, napaka-simple lang naman kasi nyan. Two large brown sugar milktea with black pearl and one large oreo matcha cheesecake milktea with black pearl, white pearl and egg pudding. Fifty percent lang ang sugar and less ice. Siguro naman, na-gets mo na. O baka naman you're just too stupid. Unahin mo na muna yung sa dalawang kasama ko before yung sa akin." sabay irap niya sa akin bago siya bumalik sa pwesto kung saan nandun ang dalawang kasama niya. Naiwan naman akong tuliro at hindi alam kung alin sa tatlong order niya at ng mga kasama niya ang uunahin ko.

Haay. Bahala na.

(Charlize's POV)

MULA sa loob ng manager's office kung saan nag-o-opisina si Stephanie ay kitang-kita ko ang usapan sa pagitan ni Laurrie ng ex-bestfriend kong kampon ni Satanas. In fairness, tinubuan na ng sungay ang bruha, pero hindi pa rin niya maipagkakaila ang katotohanang duwag pa rin siya. Speaking of Laurrie, part time employee pala siya sa cafe na pag-aari ni Stephanie.

Nakita kong inihain na ni Laurrie ang order ni Eunice at ng dalawang kasama niya. Babalik na sana sa counter si Laurrie nang biglang magsalita si Eunice.

"What the hell is this?!" singhal niya kay Laurrie.

"Yung order nyo po, Ma'am. One large oreo matcha cheesecake milktea with black pearl, white pearl and egg pudding. Fifty percent sugar and less ice." sagot ni Laurrie.

"Hindi ito ang in-order ko." mataray pang sagot ni Eunice. Tss. Anong tingin mo kay Laurrie, isang tangang kagaya mo?

"Malinaw po na yan po ang in-order ninyo. Sinulat ko pa nga p---"

"Hindi. Mali ka. Alam mo kasi, you're just too stupid for this job kaya mali-mali yung order namin. Ang pangit ng lasa! How could you expect me to drink this?!" Grrrr. You brat!

Napayuko na sa hiya si Laurrie habang pinagtitinginan na siya ng iba pang mga customers.

"O baka naman gusto mong ikaw ang uminom nito!" sabay tayo ni Eunice at buhos niya sa in-order niyang milktea kay Laurrie. 

HOW DARE YOU, WORTHLESS SLUT!

Susugod na sana ako sa kanila nang pigilan ako ni Stephanie.

"Hayaan mo munang magwala si Eunice. Tsaka ka na sumugod kapag nakunan na ni Alice ng video ang eksena." sabi sa akin ni Stephanie sabay turo niya kay Alice na nakaupo sa upuan na malapit rin sa kanila.

"Pero binabastos na niya ang empleyado mo, Steph!" katwiran ko.

"I know, Miss. Pero kapag sumugod ka pa dyan, baka ikaw pa ang mapahiya. Kaya hayaan mo na munang magwala ang bruha, para malaman ng lahat kung gaano siya kawalanghiya. Ako nang bahala kay Laurrie." and Stephanie smirked at me. Hmmm.....sa tono pa lang ng pananalita niya, mukhang may binabalak na naman siyang gawin against my slutty ex-bestfriend. Kaya kahit na labag sa loob kong panoorin ang pagwawala ni Eunice ay mas pinili kong sundin muna ang sinabi ni Stephanie.

Mula sa loob ng opisina ay kitang-kita ko ang matinding pagkapahiya ni Laurrie kay Eunice.

"Sumosobra na talaga ang babaing yan." sabi pa ni Stephanie. I just clenched my hands into fist.

"Ano? Masarap ba? Masarap ba?" singhal pa ni Eunice kay Laurrie.

"Ma'am.....s-sumosobra na ho yata kayo." mahina pero mariing sabi ni Laurrie.

"Aba, lumalaban ka na?! Lumalaban ka na?!" at sinabunutan ni Eunice si Laurrie. Dahil hindi ko na matiis pa na makitang may sinasaktang tao ang ex-bestfriend ko ay tuluyan na akong lumabas ng manager's office. Mamamagitan na sana ako nang biglang may humablot kay Eunice palayo kay Laurrie.

"What do you think you're doing, Eunice?" mahina pero maawtoridad na tanong ni Raffy sa magaling naming co-member.

"R-Ra-Raffy....." nanginginig sa takot na sabi ni Eunice.

"Answer my question. What do you think you're doing?" this time ay galit na si Raffy sa pagtatanong.

"I-inaway kasi ako ng babaing yan!" sabay duro ni Eunice kay Laurrie. "I just told her that she gave me the wrong drink tapos bigla ba naman siyang nagalit sa akin! Itinulak pa niya ako!" 

Sinungaling. Di yun ang totoong nangyari, dahil ikaw ang nag-umpisa ng gulo.

"Ma'am, kayo po ang nagtapon nung drink ninyo sa akin." matapang na sagot ni Laurrie.

"Ikaw kaya ang nagtapon sa sahig! Ba't ko naman gagawin yun?!" pagsisinungaling pa ng walangya.

"H-hindi ko alam. Hindi ko nga alam kung bakit mo ako pinag-iinit---"

"Oh shut up, stupid! At ikaw pa 'tong malakas ang loob na magsinungaling!" 

"Young Master Raffy, she's lying! That girl is a liar!" sabad ng alipores ni Eunice na si Rachel.

"Oo nga! Liar!" dagdag ng isa pa niyang alipores na si Clarissa.

"See, Raffy?!" confident pang sabi ng gaga.

"Raffy, hindi ako nagsisinungaling! Hindi ako sinungaling! Hindi ko alam kung bakit nila ako inaaway! Nananahimik ako!" depensa ni Laurrie sa kanyang sarili.

"Enough of this." pag-awat ni Raffy sa kanilang dalawa. 

"Raffy, maniwala ka sa akin. Wala akong ginagawang masama. Kung ano yung in-order niya sa akin, yun po ang ibinigay ko. Alam kong mali ako na pinatulan ko siya, pero maniwala ka sa akin, hindi ako ang nag-umpisa ng gulo. Mahal ko ang trabaho ko, alam mo yan. Hindi ako tatagal ng dalawang taon dito kung hindi maayos ang performance ko." umiiyak nang sabi ni Laurrie. 

"Raffy, wag kang magpapaloko sa drama queen na 'to. She's lying! Malas ng manager ng cafe na ito dahil nagkaroon sila ng empleyadong palpak na nga, sinungaling pa!" Aba't! Talagang hindi ka magpapaawat sa mga kasinungalingan mo ha!

"Sandali, sandali. Yun ba talaga ang nangyari?" tanong pa ni Raffy sa kanila. 

Sasabad na sana si Alice sa usapan nang may customer na tumayo sabay lapit sa kanila.

"Excuse me, mawalang galang lang po. Nakita po namin ang buong pangyayari. Wala naman pong kasalanan yung barista. Yung morenang babae po yung nag-umpisa ng gulo." sabay turo nung customer kay Eunice. Ang resulta? Plakda sa kahihiyan ang gaga. Buwahahahaha. Deny pa more.

"Oo nga! Binuhusan mo ng drink yung barista. Bully ka! Eto oh, may video ako, gusto mo, gawin kong viral 'to?" sabad ng isa pang customer.

"Excuse me, Miss." sabad na ni Alice sa eksena. "You don't need to do that, dahil kaka-upload ko pa lang ng video ng babaing yan sa FB, with matching caption entitled #TheGoomaCafeBully. Don't worry, for sure, magiging trending ang viral video niya, because of her bad attitude." 

That shuts Eunice and her two friends. Napailing-iling na lang si Raffy sa mga narinig niya mula sa dalawang customers pati na rin sa mga sinabi ni Alice.

"Fine! Blame me! Tutal ay dyan naman kayo magagaling! Ang pagtulungan ako!" sabay walk-out ni Eunice palabas ng cafe. Taranta namang sumunod sa kanya sina Rachel at Clarissa. Hahahahaha. Nakakatawa talagang makita ang talunan niyang itsura. Sayang lang at 'di ko dala ang camera ko, eh 'di sana nakuhanan ko ang loser face ng gaga. 

"Peps, okay ka lang ba?" nag-aalalang tanong ni Raffy kay Laurrie.

"O-oo. O-okay lang ako." malungkot na sabi ni Laurrie.

Nag-aalala akong lumapit kay Laurrie kasama si Stephanie.

"Are you okay?" worried na tanong ko sa kanya.

"O-oo. Ayos lang po ako, Miss Charlize." sagot niya.

"Grabe na talaga ang mga babaing yan. Pati ba naman sa cafe ko, nagawa nilang mag-eskandalo. Tapos, pati yung empleyado ko na nagtatrabaho ng maayos, pinerwisyo pa nila!" inis na sabi ni Stephanie.

"M-Ma'am Steph, p-pasensya na po kayo sa nangyari. H-hindi ko po ginusto na magkagulo dito sa shop." apologetic na sabi ni Laurrie kay Stephanie.

"Wag kang humingi ng tawad sa akin. Wala kang kasalanan sa nangyari. Don't worry, ako nang bahala sa mga babaing yun. Sisiguraduhin kong magbabayad sila sa ginawa nila sayo." pagtitiyak ni Stephanie sa kanya. "Sa ngayon ay magpahinga ka na muna sa lounge sa loob ng office." 

"S-sige po, Ma'am." at agad na pumasok sa loob ng opisina si Laurrie.

Hindi na rin nagtagal sa cafe si Raffy dahil bumalik na rin siya sa condominium ng UESC. Speaking of UESC Condominium, for sure, nakarating na kay Miss Irene at kina Tito Charles ang ginawang kalokohan ng magaling kong ex-bestfriend. Dahil tinablan na naman ako ng excitement at curiosity ay agad na akong nagpaalam kay Stephanie. Pupunta ako sa condominium para alamin kung ano pang kamalasan ang naghihintay sa mortal kong kaaway.

Stephanie did not answer back and just gave an ambiguous smile.

 

"How was your trip?"

 

Stephanie asked to change the topic.

 

"It was fine. Our research has been coming along pretty well and our new book will soon be published."

 

As though remembering something she added.

 

"Oh by the way."

 

She looked back at her son and said,

 

"Keno can you run an errand for me tomorrow. I forgot my laptop in Lisa's car."

 

Keno agreed right away. He did not mind running an errand for his parents.

 

So her name was Lisa.

The mood lightened up with this, although Stephanie' expression changed into bitterness in a split second, she was able to show a smile right way as though it was nothing but a mirage. Keno gave a wry smile, with this, it showed his parents that he was a healthy teenager.

 

I wasn't lying when I said that. The teacher really did want me to participate in something troublesome. If it wasn't for the other option that she gave me, then I would have flat out refused her.

 

There was still one month before their school festival will begin. Their school will be open to the public. Like any normal schools, they can either open up stalls, stores or perform. However, their class opted for a stage performance. It was all fine and dandy in the beginning but what made it worse was when the roles were to be handed out. Just like a typical manga protagonist, he was given the lead role as he was "tailored fit" for the role. He was starting to think that the role was not a coincidence and that it was really made having him in mind. He just wanted to help around with the preparations then watch at the sidelines, but no, they had to give him something like that.

 

The only thing he could do was to suggest something else in order to escape his dilemma.

 

A normal cafe would have been better. The girls can serve in cute maid outfits with animal ears on top of their heads.

 

He looked at Stephanie who was beside him and wondered.

 

I bet cat ears would look nice on her. With her characteristics, I feel that she is more of a cat than a dog.

The bell rang as the door opened. I could hear voices. Inside the diner was red. The floors were white and black. Like checkers. The booth were red and had white table. Most of them were empty. She started walking towards the back. Where the voices were coming from. 

"Hey guys" she called as they became visible. There was about 10-12 people and I hadn't met some of them. They took up two big booths. There was hardly space I know we would have to squeeze ourselves in. 

The first booth had Callum, Laura , Brooke and two other guys and girls that I hadn't met at lunch. And the other booth had Xavier, Jenna Stephanie, Josh and Alan. I notice Olivia wasn't here. 

"Took your time" Stephanie said. When she saw us. 

"Sorry had too picked up Vanessa" as she said my name they looked up. I felt them staring at me. 

"Dude who is the hot chick" one of the guy said making the girl next to him hit him. 

"I didn't know you were coming" Stephanie said. 

"I know, I was getting bored at home" I told her I move to their booth. Ignoring the guys behind me. 
She was sitting at the edge so she moved in making room for me and Mary. 

I slide in and moved for Mary. She sat next to me. It was a bit tight but not bad. I looked across and saw I was right in front of Josh and Xavier. Well this was awkward. 

Jenna was next to Xavier her head on his shoulder. She was looking at me annoyed. Maybe she didn't want me here. 

"I heard you made tryouts" josh said smiling at me. 

"Yes she was amazing, you should have seen her" Stephanie added. 

"Thanks but I wasn't that good and Jenna was a good choreographer" I said to them. 

"Yes you were Vanessa" said rolling her eyes at me. 

As I was about to reply Xavier spoke. "Can we order now" it was more a order than a question. Now I wish I sat at the other table. 

"Dude chill" josh said to him jokingly. But Xavier face got harder of that was possible. And gave him a menu. As I was about to pick on up he stopped me. 

"Remember I own you a meal" he said smiling. 

" you don't have to do that josh" I said laughing. "I shared willing with you" 

"No come on I insist, tell me what you want" he said. 

The boy and the other tables looked back and said "guys I think josh is in love" making the guys laugh expect Xavier and the girls rolling their eyes. 

I started blushing looking at josh who was rolling his eyes at them. I saw Xavier giving us a hard look. I chose to ignore him. I think he had a stick up his ass.

"Ok fine" I said giving in. I didn't want to argue and I knew he wouldn't give in. 

So he gave me a menu and I looked for what to eat. I heard Jenna saying to Xavier she just wants a salad with a green smoothie making me roll my eyes. Of course she chooses to stave herself. 

Mary turned to whisper in my ear "that's the only thing I have seen her eat, I surprised she can still walk" she said making me laugh and I think Stephanie heard cause she laughed too. Yeah Mary wasn't that good at whispering. 

It took me a few minutes to decide what to get. I told josh to get me a waffle and some wings and a chocolate milkshake. I think he was surprised when I ordered. But the laugh it off. What it was free food. 

Most of them got up to order and Jenna went to the bathroom. It was only me and Alan at the table. It was so awkward. I trying to look anywhere but at him. But he looking right at me like he was trying to figure me out.

"Why you" I heard him say. 

"Huh" I asked confused why me what. 

But he didn't say anything after that. 
Just went back to being quite till they came back. I moved in the booth for them and ended up some next to Josh. I could feel the heat rolling of his body. 

Mary was talking to a guy called Ashton. He was on the other booth but she turned her body to face him. 

The other new guy was called Mark. The one Stephanie has a crush on. But he was too busy looking at some other girls boobs to notice her. Boys are pigs. 

"Vanessa do you have any siblings" I heard someone asked. I heard my breathe quicken. They all looking at like I was crazy. 

"Hey what's wrong" I heard Josh say. But I all I think about was my brother. His face was now in my head. "I'm sorry I just wanted to make conversation " I looked up to see it was Jenna that asked. But she didn't look sorry. 

I took a deep breathe. Trying to remember what my therapist told me. 
It took me a few seconds to calm down. I looked up to see them all looking at me. 

"Sorry" I said to them. "Hey don't apologies" Stephanie saying taking my hand in hers. 

"My mother and brother die 2 years ago" I told them looking down. I here a lot of  I'm so sorry. Looking up  "it's fine it was a long time ago" I said reassuring them that it was fine. 

Before they could ask anymore questions the waitress came with the foods. I felt Xavier looking at me so I looked at where he sat. And he face wasn't hard. His eyes were a bit soft. I knew the look in his eyes. Pity. I looked away. 

The waitress placed my food in front of me. "Thank you" I told her smiling. 

"This looks lovely" I said to josh and he laughed. 

"You love your food don't you" he said jokingly. 

"Are you kidding, me and food are like bestie" I said laughing. 

"If you keep eating like that you will get fat and then I will have to kick you off the squad" Jenna said smirking at me and the smile fell of my face. The whole table stopped talking as she said that.
"What the fuck Jenna" I heard Josh say.

I saw him sitting at the back in the dark class room. With the window light on his face. I could tell he was angry. "Come here" he said his voice calling me to him like a siren song. 

I felt my legs moving towards him before I could stop myself. He smiled as he saw me moving towards him. "Good girl" he said his voice vibrating through me, I almost moan. What the hell was wrong with me. 

I was standing in front of him now breathing hard. Not knowing what he wanted to do to me. He was playing with the ends of my skirt looking at pleased. 

"I always want you in a skirt" he said pushing it up making me gasp. He paused and looked up at me. He was waiting for my answer so I nodded at him. Too scared to speak. 

He pushed my skirt all the was up exposing my pale thighs and cotton panties. I could feel myself blushing as he looked at my childish panties. He was probably used to girls in Lacey thongs.

"Identity? What do you mean?" Stephanie got annoyingly confused as I tell her the story about what happened earlier. This is not even the most confusing part but another one left me quite shocked.
"It said that Our father died due to some personal reason, and it said that he has a secret which he kept himself but the ones who triggered his illness want to get that specific information. They were willing to do anything just to get that information, and that people were part of the underworld organization." The last word of my sentence makes me speechless when I first time found out. Stephanie was left shocking as she heard my statement. I was sitting on Stephanie's bed looking a bit gloomy, staring nowhere as the room fell silent for a while.
"And what is that secret?" Stephanie raises her eyebrow.
"It doesn't say, but I'm sure that secret is extremely important." My statement left the room speechless. All of us making a fierce reaction, not showing any signs of weakness. Whatever secret our father is holding, we must find it out in order to get justice for his death but things are not still clear. We must find out what secret it is at any cost.

"Clark, What are you hiding?" Stephanie walks forward at me with an intense glare. She knew something was off. We swear to each other not to hide any information about this matter to each other.
"Our father has a.... brother in the underworld organization that has a strong background and power." I hesitate on the first part of my sentence but eventually give in in no choice.
"What...!" Stephanie backs away a little bit in confusingly. I admit I was as well shocked about this. Dad never told us he has a brother, come to think of it he never even told about us something about his private life. No one even told us anything about it. It is unbelievable that we have a relative on the underworld.
"Wha? How...? I.. We never knew we had an uncle...?" Stephanie says in confusement yet calm. She's still maintaining her composure but I know there's a lot of things going on in her mind. Questions that yet still answered.
"Why do I feel like it has something to do with our family...?" Stephanie says as she frowning passionately. Despite the matter she's still able to observe things as they go. Like to her that's my was the first thing that crossed my mind.

I'm still standing in the corner left amusing on how Clark and Stephanie be able to maintain this type of conversation regardless of the topic, Clark calm voice as he narrates what happened. I still can't believe I was just an outsider in them. Not knowing anything! I feel annoyed knowing that I still not know them much as I think as I grip my fist in disbelief. There's still so much for me to learn about them but I know nothing! Just what kind of an idiot am I!? First was Stephanie's fear that I didn't have the clue what was going on and now this! What the hell... During Stephanie's business trip I even thought of her swimming on the beach! Just...! What kind... of an asshole am I!?
No...! I shouldn't be like this at such a moment!
"But that didn't answer the question on how you found out that there's a bomb installed." They both look at me now that I finally spoke to them.
"There's a carnation attach to the file," Clark says with a bit frustration. No way! Again!? Stephanie and I left a quite shock but turn into madness in time. That bastard! "Ay!Oo nga pala, ipagtitimpla kita ng kape.. saglit lang.." umalis na siya sa harap nito at nagtungo sa kusina ng bakeshop upang ipagtimpla ito ng kape. From a few descriptions in some history books, they came to know that some historians believed that if Stephanie did not 'mysteriously disappear', she might have become one of the [Primordial Ones].
However, during the exploration era, there had been way too many Calamity Grades that had a lot of potential, and most of them had died in battle. The Primordial Ones were the first group of Beyond Grade As that walked out of the mountains of corpses and seas of blood alive. Thousand Shadows was not one of the Primordial Ones. He was always very mysterious, only appearing as a Beyond Grade A near the end of the exploration era.
In just one look, these thoughts flashed through Han Xiao's mind. He took a deep breath. The true identity of the enemy had been discovered—it was definitely very stressful to be Thousand Shadows' enemy, but that was something for later.
The most imminent problem was dealing with nine Calamity Grades.
Especially Stephanie.
With a push, a beam of [Psionic Impact—Whale] headed right toward Stephanie. The enormous mechanical army around Han Xiao started to move toward all the enemies.
Bang bang bang!
Countless Psionic Cannons crisscrossed, and mechanical soldiers approached the enemies with weapons and shields in their hands. Stephanie and the rest moved, too.
The battle erupted; the scene instantly became chaotic!
Han Xiao never overestimated himself. Although his mechanical army was much stronger than before, facing nine experienced Calamity Grades was still beyond his capabilities. Among the nine enemies, there were two Mechanics. One of them was a Cannon Master, shooting out large beams from extremely high caliber cannons, shattering mechanical soldiers one after another.
The other one used the Galactic Stronghold Style. A several-hundred-meter-tall fortress expanded from his hands. It had extremely strong firepower and its own guards.
Clank!
Metal clashed against metal nonstop, electrical sparkles replaced blood, and scrap metal and wires fell like rain.
Among the rest of the enemies, there were two Pugilists, one Mage, and four Espers. Stephanie was one of the Espers!
Stephanie's ability was the most mysterious. Like a diving eagle, she headed right for Han Xiao in the middle of the army. Everywhere she passed, the nearly mechanical soldiers all shattered. The air around her looked like it was bent by high temperature. From very far away, she raised her hand and aimed at Han Xiao.
With just this one move, several notifications popped up on Han Xiao's interface.

They both look neat in their satin blouses and slacks. One is wearing a beige blouse while the other one wears a cream one. Their dark brown hair are fixed in a ponytail.

They also seem to like gold jewelries as both of them are wearing gold wrist watches, earings and necklaces.

"Whoa! They look younger than their age," Primrose blurts out.

"Uhm~ just imagine how many face lifts they got!" Stephanie replies. 

"Yeah~ looks like it!" Camille agrees while irritatedly chewing her sandwich. They chuckle. 

Then, their laughter fades when they see the lords approaching them with smiles on their faces.
 
They seem like catching up by the way they greet and chat.

Camille holds her breath when one of the doctors, who's wearing the beige blouse, holds Ron's hand while he smiles fondly at her.

"Yuck!" she says while looking away and drinks her bubble tea. 

Primrose slams the table when Leo cups the face of the doctor in cream blouse and gives her a kiss on her cheek.

"This is so upsetting!" Primrose grunts as she fumes. 

"Hey! They are past flames. So, nothing to worry about!" Sophia consoles.

"Easy for you to say since the Dark Prince and the Lord Jay Harrison like you!" Camille complains.

"Ya~ ya~ ya! Hesh! Nonsense. Jason doesn't like me okay! He likes only himself! And Jay~ you already know!" Sophia says.

"I just wanna forget this painful feeling!" Primrose says in a soft voice.

"Let's go clubbing. Who's in?!" Letizia suggests.

"I'm in," Stephanie says while raising her hand.

"Me, too," Chealsy agrees.

"Count me in," Sophia says smilingly.

Camille exhales and nods.

"Are you sure I will be knocked out and forget everything?" Primrose asks.

Chealsy and Stephanie smiles--- evilly.

"Are you going somewhere?" Ben asks Letizia who looks sexy in her halter blouse and short pants.

"We are going on a girls' night out, honey! Don't wait for me," she replies before kissing him.

"In that?" Ben grunts as he looks at all of them, wearing sexy clothes.

Primrose is in a short black body hugging dress that has low neckline. She's also wearing a knee- high black  leather boots.

Camille is wearing a white crop top under a denim jacket and a low waist ripped jeans.

Sophia is wearing a see- through top over a black laced bra and a ripped short pants.

Stephanie and Chealsy are twinning in their black top and red latex skirts.  

"No! Go and change!" Ben yells, pushing Letizia to go and change. 

"Oh come on! What do you want us to wear? Turtle necks, long sleeves and floor length dresses?!"

"Yes~ I don't want other men~"

"Love you!" Letizia says after kissing him again. Then, they run to the garage. 

"Who'll drive?" Sophia asks. 

"Letizia!" they all shout and cheer. That means Letizia shouldn't drink. Letizia shakes her head as she already sees this coming.

"Turn on the stereo!" Chealsy says.

Sophia turns it on.

'I'm in a corner watching you kiss her'

"Hesh!"

'I love you...please say you love me, too'

"What the fuck!"

"Is that stereo kidding?!" Primrose yells. 

"Hey~ hey! Stop! Stop!" Stephanie says while she and Chealsy are stopping Primrose from throwing her handbag at the car stereo. They laugh at her reaction.

"Coz we're young and wild and free..."

They sing along as they drive down the serpentine road. Then, Letizia parks in front of a two story building made of red bricks. Ivy plants are crawling on the walls following the two arch windows.

"Ben told me that if we want to enjoy, this is the best place to go," Letizia says as they enter the building.

The first floor is a cool bar. Many people are already at the bar. They choose to sit at the far end, hidden by some ornamental plants.

"Wow! This place is amazing. There are so many people, but it doesn't feel crowded," Stephanie exclaims as they sit on the sofa.

"Impressive architecture!" Camille adds.

"Alright! What shall we order?" Chealsy asks.

"Whatever as long as I get drunk!" Primrose replies.

"Get drunk it is! Let's have a bottle of tequila," she says. And orders one. 

"A toast to all the hopeless romantics!" Camille shouts.

"Cheers!" they shout as they clink their shot glasses. They drink. They chat. Then, suddenly... Primrose cries.

"Wh~ hey!" Stephanie utters while rubbing her back. 

"I guess I am really unlucky when it comes to love!" she sobs.

"Uhm! Excuse me~ I think you forgot that you have never had a boyfriend!" Letizia says.

"When my mother died, my father became so protective of me! Every man wasn't decent in his eyes. Plus, he wants me to have a degree," she says. 

"But~ who do you really want between the brothers? You can't have them both. Don't be greedy!" Stephanie asks.

They laugh at her silly statement.

"Leonard of course! And Damon knows it. He's the one who proposed that we pretend lovers to tease his brother!" she explains.

They are surprised at her revelation.

"How about you?" Chealsy asks Camille, who is drinking nonstop.

She seems not paying attention, so Sophia snaps her fingers in front of blank eyes.

"Huh?" Camille asks, awaken from her deep thoughts.

"Why do you love Cameron?" Chealsy asks. She stays quiet for a moment. Then, she drinks another shot. Sophia takes her shot glass. 

"I don't know. Maybe~ because he's the first man who ever cared for me!" she says in a 'lonely voice. She exhales as tears flows down her eyes.

"You know what~ you have to let loose from those brats," Letizia tells Camille and Primrose who are sulking.

"What do you suggest we do?" Sophia asks.

"Let's introduce them to other guys out there. I am sure that there are bunch of good guys around," she says with a playful smile on her face.

Each of the four empires of the Myers Mainland had an analogy to them. The Cloudflow people were known unanimously as porcelain.
Porcelain was hard, sometimes even harder than metals, but porcelain was at the same time, fragile. If a child were to throw a porcelain ware on the ground, it would have been reduced to pieces, despite the promise of never getting scratches for more than a millennium.
Such was the fortitude of the Cloudflow people. It was wise to not be misled by the illusions shown on the outside. So long as one were to have strength equivalent to a child's, one would have been able to easily defeat them.
It was not known how much time it would take to kill all the remaining six-hundred-thousand troops, but none of them had any intention of staying. Lex even sent scouts into the new city by the shore to get information on them.
The bulk of the Cloudflow army consisted of new recruits, so things were rendered completely chaotic.
Lex, being careful as always, had only heard about the sorcerer's departure on the third day. At the time, there were still about three-hundred-thousand soldiers from Cloudflow around. The big ships had all left, what remained was high speed warships that were not able to carry many. The warships had narrow designs, capable of great speed. They were fitted with all manners of heavy weapons. As such, there was not much space left for carrying personnel.
Some Cloudflow people resorted to chopping down trees to make raft-like boats.
Lex was afraid that all of it was only a trap set by the invaders, or that the grade-9 sorcerer never left in the first place, only hiding somewhere instead. As such, Lex put off any thought of assaulting the remaining forces.
The winged skeleton shared the same thought, but had instead chose to keep sending low level spirits to harass them. Opportunities like that were hard to come by. The Mechanical Soul was among those who went to harass them.
The Mechanical Soul was almost done with self repair and had stopped using body doubles. Ever since it followed the Soldier, serious restrictions were put on its consumption. It was forbidden from consuming spirits without expressed permission from the winged skeleton. Even the remains of said spirits were rendered off-limits. During every deployment, so long as there were enemies that were turned into spirits of the dead, it was allowed by the winged skeleton to consume half of them.
Saleen trained for another three days in the magic tower before leaving.
Eleanor's body remained within the mage's crystal coffin on the seventh floor. Said floor was made a restricted area, with no one else allowed inside but Stephanie.
Stephanie had not had any sleep for three days and nights straight, and gave no thought to Saleen occupying the topmost floor of her tower. The topmost floor of a magic tower served as the living space of a mage and held great significance. To Stephanie in that moment, what was most important was to research the differences between elves and humans.
A mage's crystal coffin required little maintenance. Periodic change of magic nuclei and magic pharmaceuticals would suffice.
Stephanie devoted most of her time to study Eleanor. Across from the crystal coffin, was a three-dimensional alchemy table she had just reconstructed. All manner of biological samples taken from Eleanor were stored within the hundreds of crystal bottles.
Eleanor suffered too many injuries, and thus a small puppet was required to enter the crystal coffin to perform surgery on her. All that was performed with her submerged in restorative water. The crystal coffin was filled with liquids: grade-7 magic liquid mixed with restorative water. It was done to maintain Eleanor's life force.
The smallest of small puppets was only as large as half of a person's palm. Their limbs consisted of sharp scalpels, for cutting necrotic flesh or any places needed mending. They were useful for carving out lines as well, to enable regeneration of muscles.
There was a type of mage called a magic pharmacist, who derived joy in curing people's ailments.
Stephanie was no magic pharmacist, but her small puppet was itself a piece of equipment above the rank of holy equipment. All of it was initially prepared for the sake of Emperor Chanake. Stephanie had once dreamed of a day where the most powerful of man in Qin would have one day lie within the crystal coffin, with her attending to his treatment.
That man was dead. No matter how powerful one was, there was no way one could have withstood so many attacks from so many powerful ones. The one lying in the coffin was instead, an elf.
Conducting research in the name of healing was a common occurrence among mages, which Saleen turned a blind eye to. No less than three to five months was required to heal the extent of injuries Eleanor suffered. Mages were no gods. Even holy masters would probably have been able to do little with such grave injuries.
Su was the one healing the quickest. The heavenly angel's attack had only glanced him, and he was protected by armor. That extent of injury was not something a silver swordmaster was unable to handle.
Cuisi suffered injuries that were more severe. His horns were broken, and his powers reduced from a supreme demon to that of a demon, a level which was even lower than when he first met Saleen.
Cuisi lied there glumly, as Stephanie did not allow him to leave. Demons were after all, great research materials as well.
If he was a summoned being belonging to Saleen, the outcome would have been different. Cuisi was not allowed to take a human form. As such, his massive body was forced to curl pitifully instead.
Saleen came to the sixth floor of the tower and Su had already left. He felt pity for Cuisi looking like that. Reduction of power was a huge shock to a supreme demon.
"Cuisi, do you mind telling me your true name?", Saleen went to the demon and sat by his side.
Vibrancy came to Cuisi's original gloomy expression. He felt some form of hope from Saleen's question.
His real name was only known to Nailisi. A demon's true name was not something to be shared with others. Nailisi knew so, because she was his master.
Cuisi's head drooped again. He knew that Saleen would not let him follow him, for he was Nailisi's slave.
"You have helped Eleanor, and for that, you have my thanks. Cuisi, tell me your true name. While I'm unable to have Nailisi sever her contract with you, I can still offer you some degree of freedom. You can address me as your liege from here on out."
"But...I'm no longer a supreme demon."
"A lot who followed me in the temple started out as white-robes or common swordsman when they first met me. Cuisi, restoration of power on the Myers Mainland is faster than it is in the demon plane. If you want to become a supreme demon again, I will give you that chance."
Cuisi turned around and laid prostrate on the ground, his head reaching Saleen's waist.
"My true name is...", Cuisi said as his eyes searched around for the magic array. If his true name was to be heard by other mages, things would turn for the worst. While demons had great mental powers, their souls were inferior to humans'. If their names were to be known by others, they could be cursed easily with great results. If any powerful ones were to even speak his name, he would have no choice but to submit.
Saleen knew that within the sixth floor, there was indeed magic arrays set up for the purpose of eavesdropping. Not wanting to cast any isolation magic, he had moved his ear near Cuisi's mouth. The demon whispered it into Saleen's ear.
Saleen kept with the pose for half a minute, before Cuisi's name was completely told to him.
"Alright then, Cuisi," Saleen said as he took out a scroll and laid it in front of the demon. That was not a follower's contract, but a simple submission contract. The binding power of this contract was small. Cuisi would be able to defy Saleen's order as soon as he moved out of sight, without suffering any reprisals from the contract.
"My liege. Can you I address you as such?"
"Yes, you may, Cuisi. I will request Stephanie to patch you up as soon as possible," Saleen got out of the tower as soon as he finished and went looking for Lex.
Lex did not continue staying within the magic tower despite her palace being destroyed. That was because she had political matters to address. If reporting officials and nobles were to enter the ruins all the time, their moods would have been greatly affected.
Lex's temporary residence was chosen to be among a group of buildings near the northern magic tower of the city. This was originally a small castle outside of the ancient city of Daliang. Lex converted the place into her temporary palace.
The Dragonslayer army garrisoned outside the palace. Two-hundred of Saleen's personal guards resided within the palace. These two-hundred were very fortunate; no one suffered any injuries or ended up dead.
Saleen did not bring many with him, only mages numbering to about a dozen, and their guards. Saleen came to Lex's temporary residence and walked right in. The guards consisted of familiar faces, and the ones guarding Lex's residence were swordmasters armed with elvish alchemy crossbows.
"Lex, I'm coming in."
"Oh, Saleen, it's you...", all signs of exhaustion were wiped off her face as soon as she saw him.
"I did great!", Saleen pointed at his own devil's armor as he told Lex the news; he had been able to undo all the seals on it. The seals placed on it by Joey were difficult ones, but as soon as Saleen had reached the upper tier of grade-7, he was able to gradually undo them. If he was to be a grade-8 mage, he would have been able to undo the first layer of the suit within hours.
"It was a pity that, according to intel, that darned fellow fled. You don't know that yet, do you?"
"So I have heard," Saleen gave a bitter smile. He had been rushing to undo the seals just so that he would have been prepared to fight the grade-9 sorcerer. A grade-8 Endless Night would have been able to keep the sorcerer caged for a brief moment, a period of which he could have killed him with the power of his badge.
"So, it's a ceasefire for now then?"
"The war between us and Cloudflow ceased for the moment. Our war with the Holy See has just begun. Saleen, the Holy See tried to kill you and me both; I have given the order to use Bloody Impact against them."
Saleen was not a true noble, and as such, he was dumbfounded for a brief moment before he grasped the meaning of the term.
"Lex, If you have decided to do so, then you have my support," Saleen answered firmly despite having reservations on the decision.
"There is no need for that this time. We are no match for the Holy See if we were to clash head-on. The ones I sent were all assassins. Since they sent someone to assassinate me, then they shall suffer their fates with the same means."
"So..."
"Saleen, just go back to Metatrin City for now."
"What?", Saleen looked at her, puzzled by what she meant by that.
"Leave Eleanor to me, or Master Stephanie will just keep ripping you off. Have Nicholas and Soldier go back with you. It's mid-April now. If you don't make it to the Oceanic Ice Block, we will have to starve for the whole year," Lex smiled as she spoke to Saleen. She knew well that the most important thing to Saleen on this return, was Sika.
Lex felt weak as she thought so, and was about to cry.


It is said that the true meaning of a mage is to fully understand the truth of the world. A mage named Saleen Metatrin goes on many missions as a normal mage to try and change his fate. This in turn led to many problems and adventures.
