Shin suddenly paused when he reached this point. It is because he suddenly realized something.
Then he blurted out as he suddenly shot up from his sitting position for finding the missing key! "That's Right!!! That is the answer why no one managed to achieve the desired result of this theory! It is because they don't have a suitable vessel to use a Secret Art that Henry was saying."
"Wait! I think I read something similar this earlier." muttered Shin before sitting down once again and rescanning the books around him as he tries to find something.
Few moments later, he finally found the book that he is looking for. The title of the book is 'The secrets of Alberto Gonzalez'. Shin flipped the pages of the book while scanning it one by one.
Then his sight landed on a certain phrase on the book before reading it out loud."I'm not a genius actually. I'm just a Dual-Practioner with a special type of body that lets me experiment more on the field of Martial-Arts and Mentalism. And with that, I managed to discover this new technique of ours."
Shin stared at that for few more seconds before muttering to himself. "So that was it. Alberto Gonzalez might also have a 'Spiritual Embryo' special body just like me. That is also one of the main reasons how he discovered the Unified Strengthening."
Then he looked at the book written by 'Henry Cortez' before muttering to himself. "If only he was still alive when Henry Cortez emerges, or the other way around, then they might really succeed at combining Martial-Arts and Mentalism together."
"Tsk! Too bad that Alberto died during an exploration mission, or else he might still alive until now. And with that, he and Henry might meet and create another history."
After that, Shin read Henry's profile from one of the books around him. "Henry Cortez, a genius researcher in the field of Martial-Arts and Mentalism."
"He might not be gifted at the two respective practices but a lot of members of the 'Elder Council' respected him because of his amazing researches."
"He is currently working at the 'Magical Ace Academy' as a guest teacher and acting as the head researcher of the 'World Research Center' of the Soaring Continent."
Then Shin fell on a deep contemplation. "Magical Ace Academy? That is one of the best schools around the world. And together with the 'Top Military School', they are called the twin genius producer of the Soaring Continent."

The 'Top Military School' a school that is famous for its orthodox way of strict teaching together with its harsh environment. The death toll of the students here is quite high because of the missions issued by the school for their exams are pretty much dangerous.
But all of the graduates of this School are dragons among men. And all of the major organizations around the world are going crazy just to recruit one of them.
On the other hand, the 'Magical Ace Academy' is its counterpart. This school's way of teaching is quite unorthodox because they are discussing different kinds of fields. And it covers all the topics around the world.
What's more, most of the teachers and instructors of this school are internationally renowned individuals that are famous in their respective fields.
That is also the reason why some of the most talented individuals from the other countries are coming to the Eastern Sea Region just to enroll in the school.
Some of the international organizations are even enrolling their most talented younger generation because of that reason.

After comparing the two schools, Shin finally made a decision. "The start of the school will be on next month. Maybe I should start some preparation for it. And since I'm High School now, maybe I should send my application for the entrance exam of Magical Ace Academy."
"I might find some answers if I go there. And I'm sure that they have some topics regarding the combination of Martial-Art and Mentalism since Prof. Henry Cortez is in there."
"That Old Geezer and Old Fatty might able to teach me how to become a powerful Martial-Artist and Mentalist, but they can't help at the field of combining the two as much as this Prof. Henry."
After that, Shin opens his Advance Watch and dialed the number of Old Plum to discuss his plans. His master supported his decision as it is a good idea, and it is going to be more helpful in his progress exploring the 'path' that he chose.
After ending the call, Shin dialed the number of 'Madam Foxy', this is how he named Madam Springfield or 'Cristina Jane', the wife of Captain Bernard, in his Advance Watch.
When the call connected, Shin shared his thoughts about going to the 'Magical Ace Academy' for his High School. Madam Foxy didn't say much and just also supported his decision since it is really a good school.
After talking to her few more moments, Shin immediately ended the call before sending his application for the entrance exam of the 'Magical Ace Academy'. Then what left for him now is to wait for it to be approved so that he can take the exam.
And after doing all of that, Shin suddenly felt tired. He felt that a lot have happened today so he immediately collect all of the books around him while organizing them.
Then he take a quick trip to the kitchen to look for something to eat. And after eating, Shin immediately went back to his room before laying inside his VR Gaming Cabin.
"Alright, enough for Martial-Arts and Mentalism for now. Let's get back in the game and do some adventures."
Shin closed his eyes as the Cabin closes itself. Then he said. "Initiate Login!"

Swoosh!Shin is back in the room of the Church. Then he took a quick look at his in-game clock and saw that more than a day and a half have passed here since he spends almost half a day outside.
After that, he immediately opened his friend list and contacted Lawless. Fortunately, the call immediately connected and showed the smiling face of Lawless on the virtual screen. "Heh, so what's your problem now, Brother Sickarius?"
Shin clicked his tongue and said. "Tsk! Do you honestly believe that I'm that kind of person?"
Lawless laughed out loud and said. "Hahaha.... Didn't you are only contacting when you need something?"
This time, Shin suddenly become guilty after hearing that. Well, he can't say anything about that, it is true after all.
Seeing Shin's guilty look, Lawless suddenly change the subject to lighten up the mood a little. "If your are feeling too guilty, then how about joining my team instead? With that, you don't have to feel this way."
Shin shook his head and smiled bitterly before apologizing. "Sorry brother Lawless, but we already discussed about that."
Lawless curve his mouth into a grin while saying. "If you are still worried about being weak, then that is not necessary anymore. Those 'Top Dogs' of the Powerhouse Guilds are already wracking their heads as they try to figure out how to recruit you after you defeated those three famous guys."
"Alright, Alright. Move on~. Let's discuss the main topic already. Are you and the others available now?" said Shin.
Lawless thought for a moment and said. "If it is about hunting some high-leveled monsters, then we might pass this time. Hunting monster bosses might be bountiful, but we can always hunt them down anytime."
"On the other hand, these kind of quests are hard to come by. There is a saying in this game that said 'Monster bosses give you the equipments and materials while Quests grant you levels and points'."
Shin knitted his brows and said. "Why do I feel that what you said is wrong? Didn't the right one is 'Monsters hone your skills and techniques while Quest gives you strength and influence'?"
"Anyway, I didn't call you for that. I stumble upon a High-Ranking quest. It is also related to the Church. I can't tackle it alone so I'm asking for some help."
Lawless suddenly became interested and said. "Oh~♪ A High-Ranking Quest? Is it also the same as the one being given by your Church or a different one?"
"Of course! It is different. Mine is kind of a personal quest." said Shin almost instantly.
Lawless fall on a deep thought before asking. "What type of quest and how is the difficulty?"
"A Hidden Investigative Quest with Master(SSS) difficulty." said Shin without second thought. Then he immediately added after. "And I think it is a chain quest, and somewhat related to my other quest."
"A chain quest that starts with 'Master-grade' difficulty?" muttered Lawless as he fell on a deep thought. Then he look at Shin before asking once again. "What about your other quest?"
Shin replied without thinking twice. "A Hidden Main Quest with Hell(SSS+) difficulty."
Cough! Cough!
Lawless suddenly chokes with the words that he is about say after hearing Shin's reply. Then he said after recovering himself. "What the F*ck! Why the hell are all the good things keep coming on your side. Can you at least lend your lucky star to me so that I can experience it too?"
Shin ignored that and immediately asked. "Enough with the that. Are you guys free or not?"
Lawless clicked his tongue and said. "Tsk! What a coldhearted b*st*rd! Me and Faker are already free since just finished the SS-grade quest that we got from the church, and about to submit it."
"But we are also planning to accept the Master-grade quest that had been posted on the church quest bulletin board since we already met the requirements for it. And it is better if we snatch it from the hands of the powerful Guilds."
Then Shin immediately replied without further ado. "Then take it too! We can clear the quests altogether since they are all interconnected! In fact, I'm the real reason why the church is issuing those quest."
"You–!....." Lawless was frozen in place after hearing that. It took him some time to recover himself before started cursing Shin. "D*mn it! God, F*cking d*mn it! What kind of b*st*rd creature are you? You are not only a sh*thead lucky guy, you are also a motherf*cking source of trouble!"
Shin stared at Lawless placidly and asked. "So what now? Are you guys coming or not?"
Lawless took some effort to clam himself down. Then he look at Shin and replied. "Alright, we are joining. But! We have some problems. Master-grade Quest are not like the other quest that can cleared alone or with some random team."
"We need to balance our team's class composition so that we can avoid some accidents. We didn't lack in physical DSP area. Me, you, and Faker are more than enough for that."
"We also don't have to worry on the supporting area, as we have Stephanie, and she is more than enough for that role."
"But we are lacking on two respective areas. We don't have a main tank, and we don't have enough firepower in magical DPS(Damage per Second) department. And even if Morgan have a rapid magical damage, he is lacking in terms explosiveness."
"If we have Ember and Ravier, then that is not a problem. But those two run off to somewhere, saying that they have to do something in Real World. For all I know, those two might only be dating."
"I might be able to find a suitable tank for our team by asking some of my friends. But I don't know anyone that can fill the magical DPS spot."
Now, Shin fell on a deep thought. He doesn't have may connections in the game. So aside from the couple in Lawless group, he only have a single person that magical class in his friend list. But he doesn't want ask some help from her because he is going get trapped on another debt if he does.
Shin is racking his brain while looking at his friend list. Then a certain name caught his eyes. Immediately after that, an idea enter his mind.
He look at Lawless on the screen before saying. "Hey, brother Lawless. You take care of finding the tank while I'll try looking for a magical class. And immediately take the Master-grade quest issued by Church before others steal it."
Lawless looked at Shin skeptically and said. "Are you sure about that? If you take a random Mage on the street, then I'm going to beat you up for ruining our quest."
Shin clicked his tongue and said. "Tsk! You don't have to worry about that. I'm not that idi*t to ruin my own quest. Just finish up all the things on your side before we meet up at the coordinates that I'm going to send to you."
"What's with the rush? Can't we rest for a little?" said Lawless.
"Of course! You can. But we need to immediately move out after that. We need to finish one of my quest as soon as possible, or else some accidents might happened." said Shin with a little impatience.
Lawless clicked his tongue and said. "Alright, I get it. Just make sure that you are going to find a good Mage, OK?"
Shin nodded his head before ending the call. After that, he switched his 'caller ID' before dialing a number from his friends list.

(Eunice's POV) 

DALAWANG araw na ang nakakalipas mula nung pumutok ang issue tungkol sa naging rebelasyon ni Derrick pero hindi pa rin mamatay-matay ang tsismis sa school maging sa condominium. Maski sa mga social media sites at sa mga blind items sa showbiz tabloids ay nakarating na rin ang balita. But the worst is, mula nung nag-away kami ay 'di na kami nagkausap pa. Tuluyan na niya akong iniwasan kahit ilang beses na akong lapit ng lapit sa kanya. Pero kung sa tingin niya na susukuan ko siya dahil sa 'di niya pagpansin sa akin, nagkakamali siya, dahil hinding-hindi mangyayari yun. Mahal na mahal ko siya at gagawin ko ang lahat para lang magkaayos kami. 

Tulala akong kumakain sa dining hall ng condominium. Nakabihis na ako pero tila ayaw kong pumasok. Pero hindi naman ako pwedeng um-absent lalo pa't nagsisimula na ang weekly leaderboard para sa Hereux Prime Student. 

Mag-isa lang ako sa dining hall. Nauna na kasing pumasok sa school sina Kuya Kyle at Ate Courtney. Maski ang iba kong mga co-members ay nauna na rin, which is in favor sa akin, dahil hindi ako mabubwisit sa mga sangawa-ngawang boses nila. 

Speaking of sangawa-ngawa, napansin kong pumasok sa dining hall si Irene Impakta. Katulad ko ay ilang araw na rin siyang tulala at hindi makausap. Mukhang 'di pa yata nakaka-move-on ang gaga sa mga nalaman niya mula mismo sa tatay ko. 

"Hi, Irene." sarkastikong bati ko sa kanya pero hindi niya ako pinansin. 

"Loser." sabay irap ko sa kanya bago ako nagpatuloy sa pagkain ko. 

Pagkatapos kong kumain ay nagpahatid na ako kay Manong Juan papunta sa school gamit ang kotse ko. 




(Hereux Academy) 
(Eunice's POV) 

(IV - A Classroom, class time) 

PATAPOS na ang klase namin sa English nang biglang pumasok sa loob ng classroom si Dean Amorsolo, dahilan para agad-agad na mapatayo ang buong klase sa kani-kanilang mga upuan. 

"Good morning, Dean Amorsolo!" bati sa kanya ng mga classmates ko. 

"Good morning. Please take your seats." Agad namang nagsibalikan sa kani-kanilang upuan ang buong klase. 

"Why are you here, Dean?" pambungad na tanong ni Rachel sa kanya. 

"Ngayon nyo na po ba ilalabas yung first weekly leaderboard para sa Hereux Prime?" - Alice. 

"Sa susunod na linggo na lalabas ang first weekly leaderboard ng Hereux Prime, kaya ngayon pa lang ay maghanda-handa na kayo para masiguro ang pagpasok ninyo sa selection list." 

Nagbulungan sa tuwa ang buong klase sa sinabi ni Dean habang nagkangitian kaming dalawa ni Rachel. 

"Isa lamang sa inyo ang magkakaroon ng once in a lifetime experience na ito, so I wish you all the best of luck." 

"Thank you, Dean." at nagpalakpakan ang mga classmates ko. 

Marami pang sinabi si Dean sa amin, including the incoming first long test pati na rin ang nalalapit na Miss Hereux Academy pageant. 

"By the way, class, kaya ako naparito ay para pumili ng sampung estudyante na maglalaban-laban sa Hereux Academy's History Quiz Bee sa Martes. Naibigay na sa akin ng Social Studies teacher ninyo ang listahan ng sampung pinakamahuhusay na estudyante pagdating sa subject na ito." 

Nagbulungan ang buong klase habang tumindi na naman ang excitement na nararamdaman ko. 

"Sino kaya ang mapipili para sa Quiz Bee?" 

"Sana ako." 

"Ako rin, noh! Gusto kong manalo sa Quiz Bee!" 

Sorry na lang kayo dahil ako ang mapipili para sa History Quiz Bee at hindi kayo.

"Okay, so I'm going to mention the names that chosen to be part of the Quiz Bee, in random order." at dinukot ni Dean mula sa bulsa ng slacks niya ang isang maliit na papel. Siguro'y yun ang listahan na ibinigay sa kanya ng Social Studies teacher namin. 

"First in the list is Ms. Gilana Magsaysay." 

Nagpalakpakan ang lahat habang naglulundag sa tuwa ang feelingerang si Gilana. Tss. May ginawa na naman sigurong hocus-pocus ang babaing 'to para makapasok siya sa list. 

"Next, we have Mr. Raffy Clavecillas." 

Kinikilig na nagpalakpakan ang buong klase habang tahimik lang sa isang tabi si Raffy. 

"The third one is Mr. Kyle Andrew Yunon." 

Nagpalakpakan na may kasamang tilian ang mga classmates ko nang mabanggit nila ang pangalan ni Kuya Kyle. As usual, tuwang-tuwa ang mokong dahil napili siyang contestant para sa Quiz Bee. 

"Congratulations, Kuya Ky!" bati ko sa kanya. 

"Thanks, Eunice." and Kuya smirked at me. 

"Next is Ms. Courtney Pineda." 

"Yes! I made it! Thank you, Dean!" at napatayo si Ate Courtney sa tuwa. 

"You're welcome, Ms. Pineda. Galingan mo sa Tuesday ha." nakangiting sabi ni Dean. 

"Yes, Dean. I'll do my best to win. Again, thank you so much." at kinikilig sa tuwa na bumalik si Ate sa upuan niya. 

"Congrats, Ate." nakangiting bati ni Charlize sa kanya. 

"Aww, you're welcome, Char." nakangiting sagot ni Ate Courtney sa kanya. Tss. Nagpapabida naman ang painosenteng santa-santita. 

"Okay, where are we now, star section?" at tinitigan ni Dean yung list. "Nakita ko na. Our next contestant is Ms. Rachel Zanders." 

"Omigosh! Kasali ako sa quiz bee!" at napapalakpak si Rachel sa tuwa. 

"Congratulations, Rachel." and I smirked devilishly at her. 

"Thanks, Miss Eunice." sabay kindat niya sa akin. 

"Next, we have Mr. Denver Pascual." 

Muling nagpalakpakan ang lahat habang ngiting-ngiti naman ang nerd na kaklase naming si Denver. 

"Our next contestant for the Quiz Bee is oh! She's from second section." 

"Who's that student, Dean?" tanong ni Alice. 

"Si Laurrie Mendoza. Siya ang magiging pambato ng second section sa quiz bee." 

As usual, kumontra ang buong klase sa sinabi ni Dean. Maski ako ay umangal dahil hindi ko matanggap na makakalaban ko ang dukhang scholar na yun sa quiz bee. Pero dahil ang Social Studies teacher namin ang pumili sa kanya ay 'di na lang kami nagsalita pa. And besides, hindi naman siya mananalo sa quiz bee kaya ba't kami kakabahan sa kanya? 

"Next, is Ms. Irish Pontillas." 

Nagpalakpakan ang buong klase, sa pangunguna ng bruhang si Gilana. Oo nga pala, isa sa mga alipores niya si Irish kaya ganyan siya ka-supportive sa kapwa niya bruha. 

"Next, we have Ms. Eunice Go." 

Natahimik ang buong klase nang marinig nila ang pangalan ko. 

"I told you, Miss. Mapipili ka for the quiz bee." nakangiting sabi sa akin ni Rachel. 

"I know right." and I smirked at her. 

"And the last contestant for the History Quiz Bee is Ms. Charlize Lazaro." 

W-what? 

Si Charlize..... 

Makakalaban ko sa quiz bee? 

"OMG, Miss! You made it!" masayang sabi ni Stephanie. 

"Congratulations, Miss!" sabay yakap sa kanya ni Alice. 

"Thank you, girls." nakangiting sagot ni Charlize sa kanila. 

Bwisit. Ba't sa dinami-rami ng mga estudyante sa section na ito ay siya pa ang napili ng teacher namin na isali sa quiz bee? 

Pero kung inaakala niya na basta na lang akong magpapatalo sa kanya, nagkakamali siya, dahil sisiguraduhin kong ako ang mananalo sa quiz bee na yun at siya ang uuwing luhaan. 

Matapos i-announce ni Dean ang mga kasali sa History Quiz Bee ay agad na rin siyang umalis ng classroom. 

"Okay, class, that's all for today. Class dismissed." at umalis na ang English teacher namin. Muli'y naging maingay ang kanina'y napakatahimik na klase. 

"Miss Charlize, for sure, makakasama ka sa leaderboard ng Hereux Prime tapos mananalo ka pa sa History Quiz Bee." ang narinig kong sabi ni Stephanie mula sa 'di kalayuan. 

"Tama ka, Steph! Nararamdaman kong mananalo si Miss Charlize sa Quiz Bee." dagdag pa ni Alice. 

"Salamat sa suporta. Pero hindi naman importante sa akin kung may prize man o wala, dahil ang pinaka-importante sa lahat ay ginawa ko ang best ko." nakangiting sagot ni Charlize. 

"Well said, Miss." pagsang-ayon sa kanya ni Stephanie. 

"Hep, hep, hep. Wait a minute, Alice. Hindi ako basta-basta magpapatalo kay Charlize." pabirong sabad ni Ate Courtney sa kanila. 

"Hindi mo ba ako i-ko-congratulate in advance, Rachel? You're now looking at the new Hereux Prime Student of the year." sabi ko kay Rachel kahit na ang totoo'y pinapatamaan ko si Charlize at ang dalawang alipores niya. 

"Are you so confident na ikaw ang mapipili sa Hereux Prime Student, Miss Eunice?" tanong sa akin ni Rachel. 

"I'm more than confident, Rach. I got this. And no one is going to stand on my way." sabay tingin ko ng masama kay Charlize. Pero ang bwisit, aba't nagawa pa akong kindatan. Ibang klase talaga ang kakapalan ng mukha na meron siya. 

"What if.....si Charlize ang makalaban mo?" sabi pa ni Rachel sabay turo niya sa bruhang santa-santita ng Upper East Side Club. 

"I don't care kung siya ang makalaban ko. And besides, hindi naman siya mananalo sa akin." confident na sagot ko. 

"Siguraduhin mo lang na ikaw ang mananalo sa Quiz Bee at sa Hereux Prime, Miss Eunice, dahil kung hindi, for sure, may magiging alas na naman siya at ang mga alalay niya laban sayo." sabi pa ni Rachel. 

"I know. Kaya dapat lang na magdoble-ingat ako sa babaing yun. Minsan na niya akong nasira sa lahat at hinding-hindi na ako papayag pa na gawin niya ulit sa akin yun." and I clenched my fist at anger, dahil naalala ko na naman ang mga panahon kung paano ako harap-harapang sinira ni Charlize sa buong Hereux Academy. 

"Dapat lang. Be extra careful on her, Miss." paalala pa sa akin ni Rachel.....na siyang gagawin ko dahil nakakatakot na magtiwala sa isang taong alam na alam kung saan ka sasaksakin. Tulad ng dati kong best friend na si Charlize. She knows my strength, and the same time, my weakness. 

My fvcking weakness. 

Natigil lang kami sa pag-uusap ni Rachel nang dumating na ang next subject teacher namin. Agad na nagsibalik sa upuan ang buong klase. Saglit lang na nag-check ng attendance si Ma'am at kalauna'y sinimulan na niya ang klase. 




(Corridor/Dean's Office, Fourth Year Building, recess time) 
(Laurrie's POV) 

"LAURRIE, pinatatawag ka ni Ms. Amorsolo sa Dean's Office." 

Recess na recess pero may lumapit na agad sa akin na teacher para sabihin yan. Haay. Bakit kaya? 

Agad akong pumunta sa Dean's Office. Nakita ko si Dean Amorsolo na nakaupo sa desk niya at abala sa pagpirma ng mga documents. 

"Good morning, Dean. Pinatatawag nyo daw po ako." 

"Oh yes, Ms. Mendoza. Sit down." sabay turo ni Dean sa upuan na katapat niya. Umupo naman ako at bahagyang humarap sa kanya.

And besides, hindi naman ako umaasa na mananalo ako sa quiz bee na yun. 

"Very good, Ms. Mendoza." nakangiting sabi sa akin ni Dean. "Oh, by the way, bago ko pala makalimutan, pinapasabi rin pala ng adviser mo na simulan mo nang mag-ipon ng academic at extra-curricular points starting this day, dahil malaki ang posibilidad na mapasali ka sa first leaderboard ng Hereux Prime Student Award." 

"Thank you po, Dea------h-ha?! Ako? M-malaki ang chance na mapasali sa Hereux Prime Student Awards?" gulantang na tanong ko kay Dean. 

"Yes. I saw you academics and extra-curricular performance for the past years and your grades are quite impressive. So get ready, Ms. Mendoza, dahil nararamdaman kong makakapasok ka sa first leaderboard ng Hereux Prime Student Award." 

Hereux Prime Student Award? 

Ano bang dapat na maramdaman ko?

ONE UNCONTROLLABLE CONNECTION.

Lunch period hits, and the kids formed groups with their friends to empty or raid the lunch boxes. Andy and Lia were waiting for the other two while Stephanie dragged her lethargic two feet in seeking her gang.
"Why the sad face?" Andy asked.
Lia was lying her face down on the table, also sulking on her own.
"What happened to you too?" Andy directed her words this time at the indolent Lia.
"Why are people around me look like they haven't eaten candy for a month?" she groaned loudly.
Stephanie took a seat next to Andy and tapped on Lia's head to wake her up from her desolation.
"I'm not sad, but tired of all the practice."
Jessica appeared out of nowhere to join and grieve along.
"This is why I tell you girls, not to participate. Just enjoy like me, in the audience seat!" Andy sternly swaggered.
Ever since the school's holiday festival announcement, the kids rejoiced the classrooms, and the participants of various activities practiced every day before lunch. Jessica showed interest in dancing along with a few of her classmates. Stephanie is a star in singing Christmas carols. Hence her name got listed automatically to the singing performance. Andy and Lia's homeroom teacher suggested putting on a play since the other class is giving a dance show.
Lia wished to participate, but she had her own worries to contemplate before actually signing up for a stageplay. Since they are still considering the story and actors, the homeroom teacher gave Lia some time to think about her decision. Lia agreed.
Meanwhile, Andy cared none to participate in this event, choosing to stay as an audience, enjoying the program.
They all unpacked their lunches to eat without any delay.
"I don't get why you guys get tired if you wanted to take part in the program," Andy said to take a bite of her sandwich.
"Its because we are not lazy like you, Andy. Why can't you at least join Stephanie in singing Christmas carols, its easy, isn't it?" Jessica fired.
Andy finished half of her sandwich, laidback and calm, ignoring her friend's comments.
"Fine! Do as you like. But, you will be alone in the audience," Jessica snorted to the blindness.
"Look, I am not good at anything right now, and I know that, so we don't want to risk trying only to get humiliated, on stage, in front of people, especially, in front of your parents and friend's parents- all I'm trying to say is-"
"Lia will give me company," Andy exclaimed after explaining her reasons in ditching the school festival.
"You do know that she is willing to take part in the play?" Jessica informed to find Andy's face cringe from a breakdown, but she was aware of Lia's concern already.
"Wait, I heard she hadn't given her name," the worried classmate cried dry tears.
"YET-" Stephanie stepped in to share.
Andy and Jessica calmed down to find Lia eating her lunch in silence. They knew Lia wished to join the drama but held back for some reason. And since then, Lia lost her usual cheerful self and maintained a gloomy aura around her.
"Don't worry, Lia. I'm sure you will soon hear good news from your mother," Andy quickly jumped in to save her friend, followed by Jessica and Stephanie's consoling nods.
"Hey! If things go wrong, you are stuck with me, and I'm a fun me during festivals. I will take care of you," Andy's energetic words coped Lia to get encouraged and appear lively not to worry her friends.
They briskly returned to chatting while emptying their lunch boxes.

Despite her friend's efforts in switching her mood, Lia still carried melancholy. She vaguely listened to her classes and rarely appeared focused. Her mind occupied the great worry for the first time, and it bothered her. The rest of the day, Lia's mood did return to its old sloth self, lazily moping in her seat till the school bell rang. The attitude followed until she could hear the door open to find her mother. Following Giselle closely, Lia moved like a shadow.
"Mother!"
"Mother!"
Having returned home from work, exhausted, Giselle had a tough time controlling the child's attention.
"Lia-"
"Let me sit first!" the mother begged.
Lia gave some space to continue to follow Giselle. She watched her mother exhale aloud while sinking into the cushion. Resting by her side, the child impatiently waited.
Aware of this dreary presence, Giselle couldn't decompress freely. She sat up straight to bring Lia closer to her. Lifting the girl to let her sit on her lap, Giselle watched little Lia. She studied that blue face.
"You're still sulking! Where is my happy-go-girl?" Giselle snorted from examining the little specimen on her lap.
Lia pouted her lips.
"Did you hear from father?" she asked, concernedly.
Giselle sighed again from defeat, already anticipating this.
"No, honey! Your father hasn't heard from his work. It's only a couple of days since we told him about your school festival. I'm sure he is trying his best to visit us early this holiday."
Giselle consoled to find her daughter fall back to melancholy. Her eyes appearing disappointed by the news she heard, the pouting lips returned fat to form wrinkly lines. Giselle hushed the child against her chest and softly patted the head to comfort.
The sad news drained the remaining energy, and Giselle could feel the child weigh on her. Nonetheless, the two rested as such until Lia felt better.
That night, Giselle made Lia's favorite for dinner- Broccoli and Chicken casserole. It took Giselle multiple trials to get little Lia used to the broccoli, and once the girl began to eat it, it became her favorite comfort meal along with chicken potpie.
Giselle chose to save the potpie later and made the casserole.
Lia found it satisfying as she savored the meal with every bite mouthful to fill her tummy. Giselle asked about school, and the conversation slid back to about the school festival.
"You should join if you like, Lia,"
"But, I want my father to be there to watch me,"
"You did tell him, right! I'm sure he is working hard to earn that early holiday visit trip."
There was an awkward silence, and Giselle knew she should step in to save both Ethan and Lia. 
"Lia, you should join the play, regardless. Your father will hear about it and be proud of you!"
Giselle went on to push the child to listen to her voice. Lia's wish to join the play already softened her grieving heart, and now with her mother's appeal, she could hardly control anymore of her desire to take the stage.
"Okay!"
Giselle had kept a few words in the bank, in case if Lia still feels down, but hearing her agree spontaneously, startled the mother.
"So- you will give your name?"
Lia nodded to request a second serving of the tasty casserole.
Giselle served another decent slice that could fit Lia's appetite.
"Tomorrow is the last day, and soon the kids will join the practice. I don't want to miss it!"
"Plus, I'll hope that father could come to see me perform. Even if he can't- I- I want you to see me as well-" Lia shyly stated her thoughts and ate the rest of the dinner.
Giselle smiled to see Lia happy with her decision. She made a reminder to pass the new to Ethan so that he could get motivated to get those early days off before Christmas. Giselle also suggested Lia make handmade invitations to invite her grandparents, which made the child jolly. She fancied a list in her mind about the people she would like to invite to the school festival. However, at the warning of her mother, Lia had to tone down the number of guests. After dinner, she helped her mother with the dishes, drying the clean plates, and earned a sweet fruit pudding as a reward to her uplifted mood. Ever since the invitation idea, Giselle could barely hold Lia in a place. The little one rushed back to her room after completing her chores. She started coming up with ideas for her handmade design and spent her leisure time preparing until going to bed.
Giselle saw the return of Lia's usual cheerful self and got relieved. As intended, she sent a message to Lia's father about confirming Lia joining the stage play for her school's holiday festival.

Galit niyang hinila ang katabing upuan ni Amber na ikinagulat ng huli. Kumakain na ito ng lunch sa canteen na hindi na siya nahintay. Dapat ay kanina pa siya naroroon kung hindi lamang siya hinarang ng grupo nina Stephanie at nakipagsagutan dito. Mabuti na lamang at napigilan niya ang sariling sugurin ang babae.

"Oo. Sobra kasi yang galit na nakikita sa mga mata mo. And you almost break the chair." Anitong tinignan ang upuan niya. "It's like seeing you a month ago."

"How can't I be mad? Kaklase ko yung nakabanggaan natin kanina! And what pissed me more ay ayaw niya akong tigilan! The nerve of that bitch! Kung pwede ko lang siyang itapon palabas dito sa school nagawa ko na!" nagpupuyos sa galit na saad niya.

"Hey relax! Unang araw pa lang ng klase." Natutuwang awat sa kanya ng kaibigan.

"How could you say that?"

"Shyle, wag mong isiping masyado yung babaeng yun. Kapag pinatulan mo yun that may lead you to bad reputation again. At alam mo namang iyon ang dapat mong iwasan habang nandito ka. How can you bring back your old life kung mananatili kang ganyan."


Pagkasabi niyon ay napabuntong-hininga siya.

"It's okay. Parang nature na niya ang ganyan. And by the way, I'm Airy and this is my brother, Wind." Pakilala nito na tinanggap naman nito ang pakikipagkamay ni Amber.

'Wind? So siya pala yun?' taas kilay niyang aniya saka hinagod ito ng tingin.

Well, aaminin niya he was gorgeous. One of those attractive guys na nakilala at nakikita niya, but this one is different. Matangkad ang lalake, maputi at maganda ang pangangatawan. He has those dark eyes na tila nagyayang titigan ito, thick eye brows, and red lips. Ang itim nitong buhok ay lumalampas na sa batok nito na tila wala atang balak magpagupit. Kahit na naka-school uniform ito ay tila kay ganda pa ring tignan. And he's not wearing black shoes but he's wearing rubber shoes instead. Napamulagat siya sa sinabi nito.

"Arrogant brute! I'm just trying to see kung ano ang nakita nila sayo at ganun na lang ang takot ng mga estudyante dito!" she said. Muling siyang namula na lalong pinagtakhan niya.

Why is she feeling that way? Hindi na bago sa kanya ang makakita ng gwapong lalake pero parang iyon ang kauna-unahang nakakita siya. Her heart suddenly beats faster than she felt when she was in big trouble. Parang gusto ng lumabas ang puso niya sa oras na iyon at pinagtatakahan niya ang nararamdaman. What's with this guy na nagbibigay sa kanya ng ganoong damdamin? Para tuloy siyang hindi mapakali duon.

"Ano naman ang nakita mo?" he asks her straightly looking in her eyes.

Hindi niya alam kung kanino siya naiinis. Sa paraan ba ng pagtitig ng lalake o sa kadahilanang hindi niya maawat ang mga matang hindi makipagtitigan dito. At gustong gusto na niyang batukan ang sarili dahil sa mga kakaibang nararamdaman sa pagkakataong iyon.

"Nothing." Kibit balikat niyang saad. Trying to relax herself and ignore all those emotions. "Para ka lang ordinaryong estudyante." Pagkasabi niyon ay nakita niya ang pagkunot ng noo nito. Nawala ang ngiti at mataman siyang tinignan.

Napangiti siya ng lihim.

Naapakan niya ang ego ng lalake.

"She's new that's why she didn't know you." Si Airy ang nagsalita. Nagkibit balikat si Wind saka hinila ang upuang nasa harapan niya saka umupo. Sumunod naman si Airy

"Well, I'm Wind…"

"Ang leader at founder ng grupong Eternity. Habulin ng mga babae, numero-unong playboy, number one sa detention list. Kinatatakutan at the same time ay kinaiinggitan ng mga kalalakihan dito. At sakit sa ulo ng mga magulang." Putol niya sa sasabihin ng lalake na ikinangiti ng magkapatid.

"I thought you don't know me?" may amusement sa tinig nito.

"Coming from the unstoppable mouth of Stephanie." She rolled her eyes as she said the name of that bitch. Kahit pangalan lamang ng babaeng iyon ay naiinis na siya.

Wind laugh, which caught everyone's attention and look at them.

"Why are you laughing?" irita niyang tanong.

"Because, you were talking about his girl friend." Si Airy ang sumagot.

Tanging ang tatlo lamang ang nagkwentohan samantalang siya ay nanatiling tahimik. Kahit na sinasali siya ni Amber sa usapan ay tango at iling lamang ang isinasagot niya. Alam naman niya kung bakit.


Amber wanted her to be friends with anyone ngunit ayaw niya. Hindi naman siya magtatagal sa eskwelahang iyon kaya bakit pa siya makikipagkaibigan? Sabihan na siyang loner, rude, snobbish or whaterver for all she cares. Para sa kanya, sapat na sina Amber at Louie para maging kaibigan niya. And the two knows her likes and dislikes at alam niyang itong dalawa lamang ang nakakatagal sa attitude niya.

At kung malaman ng dalawang ito o kahit na sinumang estudyante duon ang tunay niyang pagkatao, totoo bang maging kaibigan ang turing sa kanya o plastikan na lamang? Marami na siyang nakasalamuhang tao na nakipagkaibigan but all of them are fake. They all want her for protection from bullying, for popularity, etc. Walang pinagbago sa kahit na sinong taong makasalamuha niya. And she's sick and tired of being with them.

At sa bagong eskwelahan niyang iyon ay ayaw niyang magkaroon ng koneksyon sa kahit na sino. Including this two.

Ilang sandali pa'y narinig na nila ang tunog ng bell. Kinuha na niya ang bag na nasa tabi at walang sabi-sabing umalis sa canteen. She didn't even say goodbye to Amber dahil lamang sa pagnanais niyang umalis sa harapan ng dalawang bagong kakilala.

She knew she was rude at hindi na bago sa kanya iyon sa kanya. At tama si Airy, nature na niya ang ganoong ugali and that's makes her feel better. And as far na naroroon siya sa eskwelahang iyon ay ayaw niyang maging center of attention dahil gusto na niyang ibalik ang dating buhay niya.


Napabuntong hininga siya ng maisip iyon saka ipinihit ang door knob at pumasok sa kanyang classroom. At katulad ng nangyari sa kanya kaninang umaga lamang ay muli siyang hinarang ni Stephanie at ang dalawang alipores nito. Natuon sa kanila ang atensyon ng buong klase na noo'y may kanya kanyang gawain.

"What?" she asks in irritated voice. Kung laging ganito ang mangyayari sa kanya sa tuwing papasok siya ay lilipat na lamang siya ng classroom.

"Kabago-bago mo lang dito sa school nilalandi mo na ang boyfriend ko."

"What the hell are you talking about?" gumuhit ang pagtataka sa mukha niya. Kasasabi lamang niya kay Amber na susubukan niyang iwasan ito ngunit hindi niya ata magagawa lalo pa't ayaw siyang tigilan ng babae.

"Don't pretend that you didn't know anything!" Stephanie exclaimed na tila ba bingi siya. "Nakita kitang kasama sina Airy at Wind, and you keep on talking to him."

"Jealousy?" taas kilay niyang aniya.

"Look, hindi ako interesado sa kung sinong lalakeng nagkamali sayo. If you didn't see sila ang lumapit sa amin. And I don't have the interest to entertain them. Now, back off bitch!" she said with a danger in her voice.

She step forward to go to her seat ngunit hinarang uli siya ni Stephanie

"Don't dare me, Miss Garcia." may babala sa tinig nito na kung iba man ang nakakarinig ay siguradong makakaramdam ng takot.

But her dangerous voice didn't scare her. Ilang tao na ba ang gumamit ng mas mapanganib na boses kaysa dito yet she didn't even feel scared. Pati ang boses ng ama niya na halos ikanginig na ng buong bahay nila ay hindi siya natitinag.

"What can you do anyway?" hamon niya. She crossed her arms around her chest.

At bago pa niya narinig ang sasabihin nito ay nahawakan na siya sa mga braso ang dalawang alipores nito, and before she knew ay naramdaman na niya ang malakas na sampal sa kaliwang pisngi niya.

Hindi man niya nakikita ay alam niyang namula ang pisngi niya dahil nararamdaman niya ang hapdi duon.

With anger in her eyes ay tinulak niya ang dalawang babae sa magkabilang bahagi niya na ikinagulat ng mga ito. Now she's mad at wala ng makakapagpigil sa kanya kung ano mang gawin niya sa babaeng ito. At kung may magkamali mang pumagitna, she's really sure na madadamay ito.

"You mess up with the wrong person." Galit niyang aniya at bago pa man makapagsalita si Stephanie ay naitulak na ito ni Shyle.

Shock in Stephanie's eye as she pushes her down to the tiled floor. Pati ang mga estudyanteng naroroon ay nagulat din. Some of them, gapsed loud na hindi inaasahang gagawin niya iyon. Nanatiling nakamata sa kanya ang mga kaklase na hindi alam kung anong gagawin. They were all surprised by what she has done. And when she turns her head to the other two girls ay kasama na ng mga ito ang professor nila.

She groaned as she realizes she wasn't in her own world.

"Miss Garcia, to the Principal's office now!"

The day was drawing to a close.
Kyon had some time on his hands. He dialed Stephanie's frequency on his sound transmitter.
«You finally called!» - She exclaimed with joy.
«Come to the second hall of the elite training building.» - Kyon answered shortly and ended the call.
Five minutes later, Kyon was in the elite training building. It was equipped to match the highest standards: armored walls, high-quality lighting behind strong glass, a variety of sound proof barriers, spatial vibrations, and much more. The golden youth spend most of their free time here. And only the highest ranks of the family are allowed to have their own premises. Kyon was in one of them right now.
An elegant, pretty girl in a "look-at-me" short skirt entered the hall. Her full lips flickered invitingly, her eyebrows were delicately shaped, her boobs beckoned from under her tight-fitting T-shirt... In short, any macho would lose his head and get tempted in a split second. When she saw Kyon, the girl batted her thick black eyelashes flirtatiously. Juno looked up and down at the frivolously dressed girl, her eyes hard with disdain. Then she turned her gaze on the hated assistant:
«You look so good together, master. You should marry her!» - Juno repeated the phrase she once said.
«Don't be so jealous, little sister.»
When Kyon a grimace of disgust on her cute little face, he grinned complacently.
«Never… Call… Me… Little sister!» - Her cold, arrogant voice was addressed to an ordinary servant whom she would gladly get executed right now.
Kyon was surprised at the nerve of the girl. Where did she get it? He had never given her a reason to humiliate himself... Except perhaps that slap that Bai had given him. She looked a couple of years older than she was. Kyon thought it was pretty funny, but he had put Juno in her place.
«Kneel!» - Kyon said imperiously.
Juno pulled away, startled.
«No…» - The arrogant girl started to object, but when she saw the evil grin on the face of her newly-acquired relative, she looked down at the floor. After a few seconds of hesitation, she knelt with a bitter expression on her face. Kyon came up to her and patted her head casually as if she was his obedient dog. - «Good girl. Never forget, you are just my slave and student, a pretty mediocre one. By the way, what happened to your manners?»
Her resentment and humiliation were so strong that she wanted to cry, but her attitude had significantly changed over the past couple of days. She had firmly decided not to show her weakness, especially from the outside, and even more so, in front of him. That's why Juno said through her gritted teeth in a very firm voice:
«Officially, you are my close foster relative. I am not going to observe any good manners in your presence! ANY! End of story! Don't even start arguing with me, because I'm right! And don't you dare get me on my knees and pat me!»
Lovr laughed loudly. Juno had surprised him once again, breaking his expectations. He adored this trait of hers! She was truly unbreakable!
«Alright, I like your confidence. I also want to beat you to a pulp, but I won't.» - He wouldn't do it only because his energy didn't harm her anymore. Otherwise he would have beaten her hard today. Very hard. – «Let's make a deal. I'll turn a blind eye to your attitude, give you ten thousand spheres and clear your key by ten percent. I will even tell you three secrets, you choose! Kyon's words hurt Juno, especially his mentioning about three secrets! She felt excited and eager to win. He had evoked her feeling of rivalry with Elsa. Juno had never defeated her sister, and it looked like a long-awaited chance, only instead of her sister, there was a self-confident villain in front of her.
Juno rose quickly from her knees and clenched her fingers into fists. Her eyes were burning with an urge for revenge and self-confidence. She looked like a hero who was going to defeat the last bad guy at the cost of her life.
Kyon studied her face with amused eyes:

Kyon made a tsking sound. "She is annoying." No, not like this. "SHE IS ANNOYING!!!" That's how enraged he was by the cheeky girl who constantly needed to get her key cleaned. If he hadn't been cleaning her key, she would have made a hundred more attempts to finish him off like then in the mansion. However, his talent restrained her like cage for a fierce, freedom-loving predator. He wanted to beat her up and torture her to death, but he had no way to show her at least a part of the former hell. The elemental energy didn't affect her, so he had to play a role of the good-natured master. If he ordered her to fight without pure power and beat her with bare hands, it would arouse suspicions. What's the point of training in this way? To enhance the level of the battle fist? Development was way more important! Besides, Juno's body had become stronger.
