How to Find Faith: 4 Reminders For When You've Lost Hope

1. It's OK To Need Time To Recharge

Sometimes the way to find faith can be to rest in God. Try to wade out all of life's demands: family, technology, travels and work. Take time for yourself to simply breathe and reflect. Somewhere along the way, your soul has become numb to the world, so you've been living just by going through the motions of life.

But you desire to feel hope again. So take time to reflect on what has made you jaded. Was it a specific moment, a season or just your own emotions? Try to take yourself back to those moments, and pray for God to calm the storm inside you.

"But I will hope continually and will praise you yet more and more."  —Psalm 71:14

2. Remember To Confide In Others

Acknowledge your feelings for yourself and before others. Talk to your partner or family member about your inner struggle of feeling hopeless, and seek prayer from others.

Our God is a God of restoration, fully and completely. It's incredible how your emotions can affect your day-to-day living. You've missed opportunities. You haven't fully relished the moments. Begin to comprehend that the inner storm within you is mightier than you think, and it matters a great deal to God; it's not just a passing thought to Him. God desires that you be fully hopeful, mentally pressing into His divine nature to receive all the beauty, the joy, the peace and the goodness that only He has for you.

"Return to your fortress, you prisoners of hope; even now I announce that I will restore twice as much to you." —Zechariah 9:12

3. You Can Renew Your Faith

So, where does this all begin? It begins with remembering how you first found faith. Have the unshaken and unwavering faith that God can simply restore your hope. Have faith that He will give you even more than you ask. Have faith that He will not give you a fleeting emotion, but a constant hope. It is a hope that rests in His hands, and therefore, a hope that can't be stolen. Don't forget that our God is crazy for you, He delights in you and He will give you a glowing, beaming hope if you just simply seek Him with all that is in you.

"Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."  —Hebrews 11:1

4. Identify What Is Causing Your Worries

Lastly, is there something that is stealing your hope that only rests in the future? Perhaps it's something as simple as getting old and not fulfilling all God had for you that's making you unable to live life to the fullest now.

Take time to reflect on the things racing in your mind. Don't feed into the lies as that's exactly where the enemy wants you – so wrapped up in the glorification of the self that you've lost the thrill of simply giving glory to God alone with your life. Let go of those worries and focus on finding joy in God.

"And now, O Lord, for what do I wait? My hope is in you."  —Psalm 39:7

Restore your mind, beloved. Restore your thought patterns to godly patterns by reading His Word. You were not created to live and die. You were created to live, truly live, and to share that same life you found in the Father to others. Exterior beauty and joy only lasts for so long. Find the interior beauty, hope and joy that lasts eternally in Him.

Ethera had been looking forward to this occasion for a time now. Her parents had been actively preparing her for it since she was born. Long hours of combat training and meditation to put her in the right frame of mind for the awakening rite and to deal with other Underworlders, later in the future. The training had been exhausting, but, she knew it was due to the fact that they really loved her and wanted her to have a good chance at survival. And the following day, would be the day that her life trials would truly begin. 

"World of a deity."

She gave an apprehensive smile as the memories of the past came flooding in. Of a time when she would sit, unbearably, in front of her parents as they meditated. She was a little mischievous then as meditation wasn't her thing. Sitting in one place with eyes closed as she freed her mind. This was simply beyond her endurance. 

"Pfft..." 

But now, she appreciated all the effort of her parents more than before. Nevertheless, meditation was still not her main thing. The concept of being crippled while freeing her mind from whatever there was, already beat her sense of endurance.

"Inner peace." 

She thought to herself as she slowly closed her eyes. She would need a lot of inner peace as she prepared for the rite. There was nothing she could do about the rite since the awakening wasn't in her hands. She could only hope that her awakening was good enough to impress those present, especially the schools' patriarchs . 

Few minutes later, she headed towards the training centre at the back of their mansion. 

Martial arts! 

Now, that was her main thing. She loved practising martial arts and engaging in mock combats. However, she didn't practise with any weapon since she didn't know what weapon her soul awakening would acquire. Despite this, her hand combat was incredibly powerful for her age. The power in her hand martial arts was truly a wonder. Also, she knew how to control her combat power. The general basics of martial arts that she was taught by her parents on her power output's strength.

With total eagerness, she continued towards the training centre, unaware of her parent eyes on her. 

They had been cautiously observing and monitoring Ethera. After all, she was their only child. Despite them trying to hide all these, they still couldn't care less if others were watching them or not. They knew what they had gone through before they could have her. So, whether they over-watched her or not, it was perfectly justified.

They stood by the opened window of the upper living chamber as they used their divine sight to continue watching their daughter. Amarodia gently squeezed the arm of her husband while resting her head on his shoulder. Her sight was fixed on her child who was going in the direction of the training area.  

"Look at her, my husband. Our own child, all grown up now." 

"Yes, my wife. She is."

"And do you see how wonderful she looks everyday? That's my true essence in her."

"I couldn't agree more with you, my beautiful wife. But you see how strong she is everyday? That's because of me. Don't you agree?" 

"Can't argue with that at all." 

Said Amarodia with a wide smile on her face. It might be a joke on the part of her husband, but Amarodia knew the level of her husband's power. Especially, when he was a stellar deity before the battle that got his core shattered. Even now with an amended core, he was still a powerful deity. But what could have been without the tragic incident? She knew what he had sacrificed to be here today with her.

Hargoven could see a mixture of joyful and grateful expression on Amarodia's face which made him smile broadly as he jokingly shook his head. 

"Where would I be without you, my true strength?"

"On the throne of the underworld?"

"In my dreams, surely in my dreams."

They both laughed softly before turning their attention back to Ethera who was now practising her general hand combat. They couldn't teach her any named combat technique since they didn't know what her awakening would be. A named technique must be in alignment with the manifestation of a deity. Tomorrow after the rite, they would know the way forward for her. Oh, how good would it be if she could get a manifestation like her father who had the path of the Flowing Nebula or perhaps, the path of the Azure Herald like the arch-supreme, lord Hades. 

Amarodia gave a soft sigh as she gently patted the hand of her husband.

"How fast the time moves. I still can't believe she's ten now."

"Yes, she is."

Hargoven responded while patting his wife's shoulder in a soothing way. 

"And, I know your mind wonders about tomorrow."

"Yes, I am worried. How will her rite go? What manifestation would she have? Which school will take her? You remembered her essence energy when she was born? The dark silver energy?"

"How can I forget that, my wife? Still, I want you to rest your mind, for one thing is definitely certain. No matter what her awakening is tomorrow, our daughter will surely be fine."

"I hope she does."

"She will. Now, should we go and see how her day was going?"

"Alright."

They joined Ethera at the training centre where they all practise for a time before calling time on it. They moved to the dining chamber where a special delicacy of the Nine Mountain spirit deer was steaming on the table. The night was dedicated to Ethera as she began her immortal deity journey. 

After the meal, they all departed to their various ways as Ethera made her way to the silent cultivation chamber. Despite not being able to cultivate until after her awakening, she sat down and closed her eyes in meditation. At least, she could meditate. Even, if she didn't enjoy doing so.

Oh, how good would it be to be like her parents, one day. Her own journey would start the following day. A journey of no end, she was told. How far she would go, would depend on her as from the next day.

Gradually, she began to relax and free her mind of anxiety and expectation's burden. The following night would be the big day for her and the other kids. She wanted to be ready as much as possible for the events.

Inner peace!

After meditating for few hours, she left the chamber and went looking for her parents. She bid them night and left for her room.  

As sleep took over, Ethera began to have a calling dream. A soul-drawing dream about the void.

In the aftermath of the eternal trials, the divine sigil to the throne of the Underworld was acquired by lady Ethera.

Bound to succeed lord Hades as the new Supreme ruler of the Underworld after his ascension to the Ethereal-Eternal, lady Ethera appeared to have carved her own fate. 

But before her enthronement, lady Ethera suffered an massive immortal attack. However, she managed to escape to the mortal haven known as the Outerworld before her essence could be severed from her body.

What will become of her and her fateless psth?

Follow her tale and tell the story.

There was a lone wolf wandering aimlessly for a couple of years now.

He is a bit restless and tend to avoid everybody, so, he stays in the vicinity of the forest most of the time or in any secluded area, away in any way, life or form.

He was forced to lived a secluded life away from his own pack after a skirmishes gone wrong that broke in their midst because of a rogue Pack that created havoc in their village that causes the death of some of his unlucky pack members.

After that incident, the Pack, his pack, blame him for what happen. Suddenly, he found himself being disown by his own pack, his own family and community.

His childhood friend and bestfriend and now the New Pack Leader is the first to turn his back on him.

They banish him from their community. They put the blame solely on him because he is the leader of the Pack.

Despite the fact that he tried his hardest to fight and save them. But one Alpha against a pack of rogue (consisting of three Alphas, two Betas and three Omegas) who is more savage and brutal to begin with is not a fair fight.

It is like him against the world. He had no choice but to accept his fate, his banishment.

So, here he was, ever since that fateful night. He is wandering aimlessly.

He had nowhere to go. No pack to take care of. He doesn't know what is there to live for.

He tried to find himself and start a new. But he thinks the world is against him.

First, he was banished from their community. His bestfriend and his love of his life are now mated. His own family turn their backs on him.

So, he had no choice but to runaway. Away from all the prying eyes and voices that tells him he didn't deserved to be a pack leader.

Because he is a weakling. He can't defend himself when there was a dispute among their community.

Always asking his bestfriend on what to do when the conflict arises amongst their packs.

They always seen him as a weakling since he was just a pup. Always hiding behind in his Appa's legs (who is the Leader Pack Alpha at that time).

His parents protected him from the harsh reality of the pack.

And when there was an attack on their encampment (encampment outside their community for patrolling because at that time, there was a huge war between packs).

But sadly, his parents died on that same encampment when they were surrounded and brutally killed.

Therefore, he is the only one survivor who needs to take place of his parents instead.

But he is only a pup back then. And he admits that he is so scared of everything that had happen back then. (Who wouldn't be? You just lost your parents brutally and then you are thrust to be the Leader Pack Alpha of your community when all along you are just a pup).

So, from then on, that's how it start his new life.

And now all of that has been gone. And it left him to pick up the pieces of his life.

Now here he was, lost and lonely. Insecurities feeding off to his inner soul, tormented by his past.

He is so lost and just wanted to end it. Years gone by and it still left him in misery.

He doesn't know what to do anymore. He just walk aimlessly not knowing where he should go.

He is wandering around the woods for sometime now. Trying to find himself, (the pieces of him that had been shattered since his parents died). Trying to find peace.

But all he can see and hear around him is that voices.

Voices that keep jeering on him. How impotent he is, how weak he is.

He keep hearing that voices leering at the sight of him.

Telling him just to end his worthless life, to end his misery.

And here he was at the edge of the woods. Ready to jump at any given moment to end it all.

He closed his eyes to let the silence reign over him.

He felt himself relax while the wind caressing his inner turmoil. (even though he was shivering slightly from the cold wind). He found peace at that moment and readied himself to jump and end it all here.

He is about to jump when suddenly he heard a rustling noise somewhere along the vicinity of the woods.

He tried to ignore it but to no avail. He tried to regain his concentration back again but the rustling sound kept of penetrating his concentration.

Feeling frustrated and irritated. He abandoned the thought of what he was about to do and follow the rustling sound that keep bugging him and disturbed him.

So, he'd try to locate the rustling sound back into the woods.

There at the center of the woods lies a small bundle of something white garment in the middle of the snow. (Because it snowing heavily at that time of the year. The winter is coming).

He walked cautiously into it to get a better look at it.

And there he found a baby (a human being by the scent of it) he thought to himself.

"What in the world a human being doing in here, hence, a baby?" he whispered to himself. Shocked at the sight of the baby in front of him.

He tried to look out of the woods to find if the parents are still there but no one is around except for him and the baby (and some other small animals like a rabbit, a hamster and a doe who is watching curiously at the event that unfolds before them).

He wanted to touch it but refrain to do so afraid that he may hurt it.

He knows for himself that he is a man of destruction. That voice came back again.

So, he turned his back on it and do what he intended to do here in the first place.

But there is something inside of him that is stopping him. Telling him not to abandoned a baby.

His inner Alpha kept on screaming at him to get a hold of himself and do what his Alpha instinct needs to do.

There was a wild fighting inside him. He is debating with his inner Alpha. Then there was one thing said by his inner Alpha that shut him up.

"How can you abandoned someone like that in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the snow especially if it is a baby that cannot defend itself from harm and danger?"

He is about to answer when his inner Alpha said again.

"What if it is your own child that had been abandoned like that?"

"But is not" he lamely retort.

"I am not surprised why they would called you a weakling." hissed by his inner Alpha.

"How can an Alpha abandoned his own child in the middle of nowhere and save himself the burden of taking care of that said child? That is so pathetic." said his inner Alpha with a glare.

"Fine, but don't blame me if he died because of me. Cause we all know that everything I touch dies. Everything and everyone I care about kept on dying on me or better yet abandoned me because I am pathetic." he sarcastically retort to his inner Alpha.

After arguing with his inner Alpha he decided to turned back on the baby.

"Don't give your hopes up, kid. I am not doing this because I like to. I do this just to shut up my inner Alpha." he grumbled to himself.

But when he first take a good look at the baby. It left him in awe at the sight of the baby. It takes his breath away of how beautiful the baby is.

The thought of doing it for his inner Alpha left him.

He doesn't realized that he took the baby with such gentle and care while cradling it close to his broad and muscled chest and caressing his thumb to it's tiny cheeks.

He froze suddenly when the baby started to flutter it's eyes open.

He was mesmerized by the sight of it and fall in love deeply in that beautiful eyes.

From that moment on, for the first time in his life, (after his parents died), it's the first time he feels this kind of feeling.

The feeling that he kept on searching since his parents died.

It is the feeling of unconditional love. He doesn't understand why he feels that way at that moment towards this child.

From that moment on. He promised to himself and to this baby, that he cradled in his body, that he will do everything to care and protect it.

And suddenly, he realized he doesn't know how to take care of a child, hence, a baby human being. The panic started to seep through his mind. But his inner Alpha calm him down.

"Calm down, boy, don't panic. First, you need to find a shelter to settle for the night. Especially now with this heavily snowing not stopping at any given moment." calmly said with soothing voices of his inner Alpha.

So, he gathered all the things he found for this child.

And bundle the baby with his warm body. And protect it from the harsh bite of the cold wind.

He kept on trudging on the wintry woods. Luckily for him, at the short distance, he found a path that leads to be some kind of cabin. (he thinks it is a cabin by the looks of it). So, he go that way just to spend the night.

When he is near enough. He squint to see that it is not a cabin but a beanery of some sort (a restaurant).

He was freezing cold by the time he got there. And his teeth is chattering from the cold. But it doesn't matter anymore.

But he is worried about something else entirely.

He didn't know if the people in there would welcome the kind of him. Because base on from his past experiences before. Not everyone is welcoming enough other people of not their kin especially the likes of him.

They feared their kind and calling them monsters of some sort.

He is so absorbed in his inner thoughts on debating whether or not to risk himself and the baby in this kind of situation.

He doesn't realized that there is someone walk out the door with a trash of bags.

That someone suddenly look at him when he sensed his presence. He still doesn't realized that there is someone staring intently at him and a frown is forming on it's face.

When he sensed that there is a presence staring intently at him. He found himself conscious enough, he slightly squirm himself by the intensed look of the guy on him.

Then suddenly the guy walked on him with intent on his features.

He flinched away when the said guy touched his cold cheek and the guy hissed in contact.

"You are freezing to death. What are you doing here outside in this cold weather?" the guy said with a frown on his face. And when the guy realized that there is somewhat he is holding closed to his body.

He tried to take a look of what he was holding in his body.

Suddenly, his Alpha instinct kicked in and hissed at the guy and try as much as possible to cover his baby away from a peering eyes of the guy.

The said guy raised his both hands up in a placating manner.

"Hey, calm down, I am not here to hurt you. I just need to check what are you hiding inside of you. Maybe I can and it will be best if you come with me inside and sort it out." he calmly said with concerned in his eyes.

After some calculating stare to the said guy and peering inside his body to look at the baby, he conceded (not that he have any choice in the moment anyway). But he left his guard on high alert if anything happens.

So, he follows the guy inside. The guy walk straight at the counter and shout at someone.

He doesn't heard what he says because he is so tired. And he feels like he want to pass out at that moment. So, he tuned out what they were saying or arguing about and concentrating on the baby.

The baby is sleeping peacefully. He smile at the beautiful baby but frown when he notice that something is odd with the baby.

He realized belatedly that he doesn't hear the sound of breathing of the baby. So, he move his head to the heart of the baby and froze when he realized that the baby is not breathing.

"No!" he didn't realized that he shouted.

They both jump at the sudden shout from the mysterious man. They both scurried to where the mysterious man is having a panic attack.

When they saw what the man is cradling in him was in fact a baby. The guy from before speak sofly to the distraught man.

"Sir, if you please let me take a look at the baby and see what is wrong with it, so, we can help." he said sofly in a soothing voice.

The man look up at them. They were taken aback by the sheer look of devastation in the man's face. Suddenly, they felt the urge to help this man as much as possible.

"I am a doctor, I can help if you let me. I won't hurt it, I promise. Just let me help." said the other guy, praying that the guy would let him. And his glad when the man slowly uncurl himself to let the baby be taken care of.

He hissed when he saw the state of the baby. And get to work to save the baby. He blow a breath on the baby and begin to do a CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation).

He doesn't know that he's holding his breath until the baby take a breath of it's own that he realized that he too is holding his breath.

They both sighed in relief when the baby keeps on breathing on his own.

When the man saw the baby is alive. He cradle it and hug it to himself. He poured it with soft kisses and whispering promises.

They both melt at the scene unfolding before them. It was a long time ago that they see something like that.

He let the man pour his love on the baby. After sometime, they cleared their throat to catch the attention of the man.

"I'm sorry but I need to get him to the hospital to check on him better." said the guy hoping to convince the man.

The man look at them and at the baby in his arms.

"Okay. But I need to come and be with him." he said defiantly.

"Of course, he is your child in the first place. And he needs you there beside him, if I may say so." said the other guy from before.

So, they readied the car and drive to the hospital. Luckily, the snow has gradually stopping.

But unfortunately by the time they finish in the hospital the snow started to pile up again.

The ride is somewhat hard.
The drive back is a slow pace because of the heavy snowing.

And they almost got someone hit because someone stumbled in front of them. Luckily, they never hit them.

They help the other two get in the car. Because they were freezing to death. And they don't have the heart to leave them alone in the road with that heavy snowing.

The doctor guy called someone on the phone. And they stop in a simple yet somewhat big house.

When they arrived and the doctor guy press the doorbell.

The tall guy with a sunny smile open the gate and let them all in.

They all settled for the living room. The tall guy round about the house in search of the spare blankets and give them to the two people who is now shivering from cold and one other to the man with a baby.

While the guy from before goes to the kitchen to prepare and cook some soup and hot drinks. While the doctor guy readied the guest room bedroom they would stay the night.

While the other two enjoying the warmth of the blankets, cuddling with each other for warmth, after staying outside the cold for sometime. While the man is contently enjoying himself with the baby sleeping peacefully on his shoulders.

And that is their story starts from then on.

River got out of bed early and rushed to the huge double doors of the manor of his aunt, occasionally greeting the housemaids and butlers he passed by.  His maternal aunt, Melinda Prance, was a busy woman; she was a well-known owner of a carriage manufacturer company, or better known as White Horse.  Her work, often times took her to places far away, thus leaving the house in the safekeeping of her servants.   
This was also the reason why, in all the years that had passed since River had come to the place, no one knew of his secret: that he was training in the art of sage craft.  
Every human born in the world of Mana had an internal energy called orb energy.  When people refer to the form this energy took, they called it inner orb.  This inner orb invisibly existed within the very body of a human person; its size determined if one were eligible to use magic or not.  Usually, an orb with a diameter of fifty meters was enough to cast magic; however, to become a mage, one must have at least an inner orb with a diameter of a hundred meter.  Those that passed this mark were considered Class F mages. 
For those that doubted if they could become mages, it had been proven by magalogists (scholars who studied theoretical magic) that orb energy did grow through practice.  
River on the other hand was one of the rare 'invalids' whose inner orb's diameter was a whopping one foot. It was a rare occurrence, but not impossible. No information as of current were found to support the claim that invalids could grow their inner orbs by practicing hard; but still, River practiced hard.
River was a determined boy, once he saw something that interested him he would run towards it regardless of the impediments; hence he was determined to understand the deep realities of magic even if he could not practice it.
Since he did not have magic, he made up for it by studying.  He probably knew more about magic than an average mage did—if he had access to a library of books tackling the mysteries of magic that magalogists were discussing, he would have probably rushed headlong to consume them in his head.  
The knowledge of magic filled his mind, magic was amazing, and the study of it was intellectually stimulating.  Because of this, River practiced hard in the pursuit of sage craft. He didn't plan on becoming a full-fledge sage though, he just wanted to be an honorary one. Sages were those who sacrificed the size of their inner orbs in order so they could accommodate the natural energy of nature; hence, not only did they have no magic, they were also powerless. However, because of this, they were able to gaze into the very essence of orb energies—at least those that had reached a high enough level.
Sages could sense impending dangers from magical beasts, or tell the weather, and forebode calamities—to top it all off, they had a library full of books regarding magic. 
He ran hastily while wearing his backpack filled with rocks as part of his exercise routine. Since River had no talent in magic he worked hard to strengthen his body, hoping that someday he might find use of it. 
He travelled through the hectic streets of the city of Peace, filled with crowds of people dressed in mediaeval get up, buying items from several stores and foreign peddlers. He waded his way to the city gates and eventually arrived at the guard post.   After paying his respects to the sentries, he ran north-east of the city to the direction of Mt. Peace. 
It took him two hours to reach the foot of the mountain and another two to reach the top, where a huge monastic temple stood in all its glory.  Its arced gateways were chiseled with angelic forms that spread their wings as if in protection of the passage ways. The wall that surrounded it had been cut from the finest stones and embellished with carvings obviously cut by the deft hands of a master sculptor.  
River continued on until he got to the gates and proceeded to enter the temple.  Inside was even more glamorous.  The buildings eloquently spoke of the past as much as it spoke of the present; the molds that grew on walls seemed to have been decoration rather than dirt.  The roofs where old and decrepit, yet its wavy curves somehow reminded one of a past one never knew of.  This temple had evidently been in this world for a very long, long time. 
There were monks, wearing brown robes with hoods that dangle at the back, dusting the courtyard or doing maintenance at the rooftops.  Some fixed dilapidated walls while others were immersed in contemplative discourses.  River greeted the monks, who responded to him gleefully with the gentle characteristic of those who trained in sage craft.  He passed by the courtyard and went inside the hall, running to his destination: Abbot Gregory's garden. 
The garden was situated in an open space surrounded by monastery buildings; to access it, one must first pass through a huge arced gateway that spoke of tales of heroism—carved in a tongue that had long died.  River passed through the arc and entered the garden.  Inside the garden was an old man, standing up with two hands clasped behind him.  A slight breeze slipped through the gaps of the surrounding buildings, filling the garden with a mystical chill.  The monk's robe danced gracefully to the tune of nature; and his eyes were closed in deep contemplation. 
"Abbot," greeted River to his master, "I've come to see you as promised." 
The abbot breathed in and out as nature's energy soaked through every part of his body. He turned towards the boy in a quick but fluid motion.  His face was old, yet oddly beautiful: the kind of beauty wise men exuded.  His long beard swayed gently with his movements. 
"My boy!" exclaimed Abbot Gregory, walking towards River. "I'm so glad you came. Are you really sure about your decision to end your training?" 
"Yes Master," confidently replied River, glancing down in morose reminiscence. "I don't think I'm fit for this kind of life. In the first place I've still haven't made peace with my past."
"True," said the abbot, sitting down on a bench right below a willow tree.  He tapped the wooden surface beside him, gesturing River to sit down. "Let us talk." 
River accepted the invitation and sat down with a thud. 
"You are one of my best disciples. You have never failed to surprise me; the greatest surprise you've ever brought me were those abilities you showed me the other day." 
River scratched his head, awkwardly responding to the abbot's sudden praise. "What are you talking about Abbot, it's something any of you can do too if you guys put your mind to it."
"And yet we don't want to," responded the abbot. "Our purpose my boy, is not to protect lives with power.  Our purpose is as simple as the purpose of a pen or a sponge: we are here to glance into the metaphysical realities of this world given to us by the creator.  We don't brandish swords, nor fight with them, we're here to help people find their meaning, so to say, for them to find a life worth living. We don't protect lives, we guide them." 
The abbot turned to the boy.  He raised his index finger and struck River on the chest.  "You were made to protect lives.  The power which you have discovered is a power unique to you, only you could have discovered it among all of my disciples.  Only you who have been rejected, insulted, trampled upon could pursue it. And only you who have known the face of dirt could truly use it responsibly."
"I know, Abbot," said River with a melancholic smile. "It's not that special though, in fact I can't even sustain it for long periods. If only I could use magic, then perhaps I'd be stronger." 
"The fact never changes: you have the strength to protect—so protect. No matter how small, the smallest contribution makeup the largest things. But remember this: although your time with us had allowed you to grow, you still have a lot to change. I wish the best for you, my boy.  I will certainly miss you."
"Would you stop that, Abbot?" chided River. "You sound like we won't be seeing each other again.  I can still come by and visit every now and then." 
"Who knows?" Abbot Gregory chuckled kindly. "My life is not mine to keep. I can sense my hour is nigh." 
"Again with your morbid jokes. It's not going to work anymore." 
The monk smiled at River while closing his eyes. "Of course—"  
His soft chuckle somehow made River feel uneasy, as if something horrible was about to happen in the near future. Thence, Abbot Gregory invited River to have tea with him, which River readily accepted without an ounce of hesitation.

After River's quick visit at the temple he decided to go home.  He walked the same path, but quicker since he was going downhill.  During his journey he racked his brains for what to do next. How will he revive his crippled dream of becoming a magalogist and an inventor? He could join the military and perhaps apply all the theories he knew about magic to aid military tactics then use such achievements to gain footing to get himself approved as an independent theorist and/or inventor, but that would take too long. It might not even happen, considering the fact that people had way too low of an opinion on invalids.
How about attend school? But schools had lessons involving practical, non-magic use of orb energy like starting an auto-carriage using an activation key powered by one's orb energy. He surely couldn't pass those tests, after all his inner orb was so small that it couldn't even light a luminescent crystal. After thinking about it too deeply, he decided to let it sit down for tomorrow.
Four hours later, at three in the afternoon, River arrived at his aunt's manor and marched his way towards his room.  Suddenly, a pale and slender woman, with a face slowly wrinkling of old age, wearing a red dress popular around their area, walked towards him with her bobbed hair bouncing up and down.  Her fierce expression, strict demeanor, and piercing gaze was the very description of—
"Aunt Melinda!" screamed River, sweating. "Why are you here?"   
"It's my house. Why else should I be here?" 
"What about business?" 
"This is business," curtly replied the aunt.  She took River by the arm and pulled him to the waiting chamber.  
"Where were you anyway? We waited for you for a long time."
'We?' 
River respectfully pulled himself from Melinda's grip. "I was studying, and training…" 
"Oh? Give up boy, no matter what you do, you will never be able to use magic," bluntly scolded Melinda, reaching for the door handle. "Anyhow someone's here to meet you." 
'Someone?' thought River, 'Mara perhaps or maybe mother?' 
Mara was River's little sister whom he adored with all his brotherly love.  She herself was very affectionate towards River, and hence was one of the only two people who would dare visit him, the other one being his loving mother.
The door creaked open and revealed the inside of the reception room.  The two sofas and foam chairs as well as tables and all sorts of decorations were neatly arranged to create the ambiance of simplicity and elegance, marrying each other in a wonderful balance. 
Sitting on one of the sofa was a tall man with a bulky body built.  He wore a grayish shirt with sleeves that shortly cut off near the shoulders, thus revealing the bulging muscles of his arm.  A band of black cloth wrapped around his forearms.  His face was stern and audacious, while his black hair was standing up in a flat-top haircut.  This was—
"Father!" abruptly exclaimed River. "W-what's going on?  What made you come here?"
Silence—
Antonio Pace didn't move, nor did he talk.  He just sat there, arms crossed and eyes closed.  Melinda urged River to go inside; hesitantly, River entered the room and sat on the sofa opposite his father. Afterwards Melinda left the two of them alone.
Antonio still did not speak, yet the air about him screamed of silent authority; perhaps it was because he was an enhancer? No one was sure. River looked away, trying to stave off his awkwardness by looking at some cracks over there, or some small details over here and so on and so forth.
Antonio opened his eyes. 
"You've grown," remarked Antonio, finally breaking the ice. 
"Y-yeah," nervously let out River as he scratched his cheek and glanced away. 
"I came here for one reason only," said Antonio in a stern voice. "I want you to enter Winnow Academy."
Hearing that out of a sudden, River instantly turned his head towards his father, staring at him in shock.
Winnow Academy? Wasn't it one of the four great academies of the kingdom? What did Antonio mean, him? River? Enter the academy built specially for talented mages? In the first place he wasn't magic—
"It's Mara's wish.  She kept bugging me about it, saying she won't enter the academy if you won't join her." 
"I-I"
"Don't worry, as long as you top the written exams, you will be allowed entry; and according to Melinda, your knowledge about magic surpasses even hers—a Class B mage; hence I think it's possible for you. However, you will only be entering as a student of the theory classes, practical classes won't be allowed for you."
"B-but, Father, I—"
"Take it or leave it," briefly pronounced Antonio, standing up and walking towards the door. "I'm off." 
Hence, Antonio strode off, leaving to handle some other important business. River was left there sitting down in a daze.  Winnow Academy?  He wasn't qualified for that; in the first place it was the academy where 'she' was attending.  He heard 'she' had already been engaged to the scion of the Reborn family. Seeing the two of them together might just—
Break him to pieces. 
Was this kindness or cruelty? Who knows? As in anything, River will never find out unless he tried. 

In this world of magic, mages hold supreme, developing their powers to protect their country; however, everything changes when a young teenage boy, born without magic, paves the way to a different kind of power. 

River Pace was supposed to be engaged to Runia Willow as a way to strengthen the ties between both their families.  However, when the result of River’s appraisal, at age eight, had arrived, Runia’s father immediately cancelled the engagement because they found out that River had no magic! River simply gazed at the back of Runia, forever leaving him as she strode into the world of wizardry.  He, on the other hand lost everything—he lost his dream of becoming a magical inventor and to make matters worse his family disowned him and flung him to the hectic city to live a normal life.

Eleven years later, after practicing for days without end at the temple atop Mt. Peace, he has become a sage. River then enters through the gates of Winnow Academy and shows to the Kingdom of Altis that even magicless sages can be powerful!

Clause's new technique to alter a person's memories allowed V to continue on with their mission. Although it wasn't completely saintly either, yet making them start anew and giving them another chance at life was far better than killing them. 

The Masks finally revealed themselves publically a month after they dealt with Raolt. Through a transmission crystal that they hijacked during the proceeding of a national parade, they confirmed their existance to the world and openly challenged the king. With that, they had become a household sensation, they were the first rebel group to openly proclaim themselves. 

But even after all the commotion they created, they could not manage to get a word out of the king, he did not even come forth to address the issue on any occassion.

"The king of Mascus, Reeden-Von-Druhan. There are stories floating in the air about that living legend. He has not made a public appearance since the time of the Staark incident when his first son betrayed the court and escaped after a failed rebellion, killing his second son and in the process getting killed himself. A father who had the misfortune of experiencing the death of not one but two of his eldest sons. Some say that he has gotten insane, others suggest that he has become drunk of the lure of the throne, after the first attempt of rebellion, he has become demented and had hid himself, sitting on his throne, he fears that his eldest son would come back to life and take the throne from him, while others even speculate that he has died sitting on that throne. While they may all be true, almost no one knows what goes on beyond the thick cemented walls and heavy iron gates, so for the time being they are just rumors and nothing else. However, one fact remains, the young of the country have never seen him, and the old of the country can not forget him for all the days of terror that they have lived under his reign.", Miss Lucy said, catching the group offguard in the cafeteria. She had over-heard the group discussing about the king and had crept her way to them to join in on the conversation.

The group however, was stunned, a chill ran down their spine when they saw her, Alice tried to steer the conversation away from that matter, "Fancy seeing you here, Miss Lucy..."

But Lucy could be stubborn as hell whenever she wanted to. "Yeah" she said giving less than a glance to Alice and then looking back at the rest of the group. "So, what do you guys think?" She asked.

"A- about what exactly?", Clause asked hesitantly,

"The king, is he dead or not?", Miss Lucy said without changing the tone of her voice. 

"How can you say that, aren't you a noble? It is a crime even if us commoners say that sort of stuff..." Jenny tried to reason. 

"Well dear, it ain't a crime if no one knows, right?" She chuckled

"More importantly", Ramon started to say, "Being a noble, do you not know of what has become of the king?" 

"There are tiers of noble families in Mascus. The first tier are the closest to the king, and form the inner circle of the Country's government. I come from a second tier noble family and so I don't know what's been up with the king." 

She then took a pause to look at the faces of everyone and found that each one of them was avoiding an eye contact with her. 

"Suppose, you five were the five masks...." she said and with that each of the members faced her, their eyes widened with tiny yet visible drops of sweat forming on their foreheads.

"Oh no don't worry, I didn't mean to startle you, Its just that an investigation force is being made comprising the elite knight generals and the heads of five of the noble houses to investigate the masks and snuff them out. Considering how the masks seem to be about your age and more importantly, how you are among the top scoring group of our university, I thought that I would like to hear your thoughts on stuff like where to look first and what their motives can be."

She then darted a glance at V who was, by then, sweating profusely, his hands were slightly shaking and his eyes had gone wandering off looking for a place to fix his gaze at, but inevitably always returned to meet Miss Lucy. 

V in a state which was a blend of panic and confusion, only managed to get syllables out, "I...uh..."

Seeing him fumble, Ramon barged in, "If we were the masks, we would be hiding in the remote regions of the country, however not in the outer world as that would make it much harder to come to the inner cities to attack. I'd be searching the outer zones if it were me." 

"Yes, I had thought the same... Pretty clever. Now what do you think about them hiding in the capital, can they not be living and breathing among us?"

"Th...That" Ramon could not give an answer this time. 

"That would be insane", Alice took the reins of the conversation, breaking her voice with soft forced chuckles, she said,

"The Capital is the most guarded place in the country, if they were here they would be powering the dimension as ghosts by now. But yes, even if they were to conduct an investigation here, they would not be able to do so without disrupting the peace of the capital, and so insted they'd have to move slowly. So, there's that but it is highly unlikely."

"I expected no less from you lot, great deductions, do tell me if you guys come up with anything else. Well that's it, I'd be going now, you guys enjoy the rest of your break." Miss Lucy took her leave and headed for the stairs, upon which she found him waiting for her. She whizzed past him stopping for just a moment in front of him to say that he had been wrong about the group, "They were on edge, but that was natural, yet they managed to answer me in the most logical manner possible."

V has been bestowed upon with a destiny to free his country and carry on his father's legacy. He has to travel a path of hardships to achieve his distant dream, but is it even his own dream? And what would it take to achieve it? Just what does it mean to be a hero? What about the ones not on the centre-stage?

Elena's words alluded to a story Ryu knew little about. This incubator of the Holy Wing Clan had long been known to his Tatsuya Clan. Years ago, during Titus' first stay at the Shrine Library and directly after his meridian awakening ceremony failed, his Grandma Kunan had put aside her pride and hatred to ask if it was possible to trade for this treasure.

One had to understand that although this Origin Grade incubator was a heavenly treasure few could match, its use was still highly limited. In fact, the only way to make full use of it was to give it a single master. But, obviously, something like this was less useful for such a large clan. A defensive or offensive Origin Grade treasure was simply far more valuable.

However, Old Mistress Holy Wing would never miss an opportunity to scorn her old rival. Even knowing that this involved the life and death of a child, even knowing that accepting this Origin Grade treasure trade would greatly benefit her Clan, she rejected the offer after humiliating Ryu's grandmother.

Now, she was forced to exchange this treasure for nothing, simply to save her own life. It could be said that justice had been meted out.

"I see…" Ryu said softly. Elena didn't need to say anything more. With Ryu's intelligence, he immediately understood what must have happened. Although he didn't have the exact details, the scenario he built in his mind wasn't far from the truth.

"Here." Elena's spatial ring warped once more, revealing what looked like a beautiful globe with a world hidden within. Even with his mortal vision Ryu could see endless flowing rivers and grassed lands. But, there were no trees or spiritual plants to speak of. Even the water was normal, without any special properties.

Elena shook her head. "It's only to be expected. The Holy Wing Clan definitely took everything valuable out before handing it over. It should be fine though, with your abilities, you'll be able to fill it with even rarer spiritual plants. Be a little selfish for me, okay? Don't always hand your achievements off to those old Council fogies. Keep some for yourself…"

A rare air of seriousness took control of Elena's tone. She didn't know why she suddenly felt so uncomfortable, as though a weight was slowly increasing on her chest, but she always believed in her instincts, it was part of why she always felt so free.

"Be a little selfish, huh…" Ryu muttered to himself as he took the globe in his hand.

The heavenly pupil inner world was quite bland. It seemed to be an odd grey box that increased in size along with your cultivation. Yet, even as a mortal, Ryu's space was about ten meters in every direction. Aside from the cloak that now sat neatly folded in a corner, there wasn't much else to see. All that remained was the Fire Dragon Emblem of the Tatsuya Clan, the Phoenix Emblems of the Ice and Fire Phoenix Clans, and the Lightning Qilin Emblem of the Kunan Clan.

These Emblems were Mystical Grade treasures that allowed access to the various Clan Holy Lands, but other than that, they had no other function.

"I believe you should be able to replace your heavenly pupil inner world with this one. At least in theory." Elena explained lightly.

As Elena expected, the process was seamless. The globe entered Ryu's forehead, slowly changing his inner world. Now, it world could accommodate living beings. Unfortunately, though, his cultivation was non-existence, making it impossible for him to withstand the burden of warping in large objects.

Nodding in satisfaction, Elena smiled. "The last treasure is probably one you'll have some push back against, but do remember that it's a Unique Grade treasure."

"Some push back?" Ryu's mind immediately went to the worst possible place. This fiancée of his didn't get him some kinky toy, did she?

Elena giggled as though reading Ryu's mind. "Don't worry, it's nothing like that. Instead, they're weapons. Twin daggers, actually."

Ryu frowned, not knowing whether to laugh or cry. What the hell would he do with weapons? Right now, Ryu had no fighting experience whatsoever other than basics his father taught him when he was a toddler. What use would he have for daggers?

"I know, I know. But I've thought about this seriously. The black cloak has a passive ability to conceal, but it's very weak. Without cultivation, the only way you can evoke its true abilities is to use your Spiritual Qi and enter the Breath of Earth realm. However, that only lasts for a few seconds. Do you think that your enemy would disappear in that time? You need to take action!" Elena said seriously.

Ryu sighed. "Your words make sense. But, in a case where I assume something has happened to Nuri and I'm forced into such a corner, even if I have an Origin Grade dagger, I'm afraid that such an enemy would only laugh at my attack."

"This is why these daggers are special. They're capable of accommodating all forms of energy, including Spiritual Qi. Their weight also changes in accordance with the energy type and amount you use."

"You mean?" Ryu raised an eyebrow.

"Mhm. You can attack an opponent's Mental Realm directly. This won't guarantee a kill considering even someone like Nuri couldn't instantly end Gale's life, but it's the most effective attack you have. It's better than nothing."

Listening to this point, Ryu couldn't disagree. This was indeed the most effective form of attack he had. If these daggers really could accept Spiritual Qi, then they could protect Ryu's mind while he attacked others. Simple put, they were better than having nothing at all, so, for the sake of his fiancée's peace of mind, he accepted the daggers.

Ryu watched as Elena handed him two beautifully finished daggers. Each had a black spine, but edges that shone a crystalline and translucent blue. These edges were serrated into three portions, making the daggers look like a slanted set of triplet canine teeth. Their handles were long and slender, curving near the end into spherical bulbs.

The entire length of each blade was only about a foot and a half, hilt included. But, they gave off a menacing light.

On a cliff that stood above the world, a young man with skin as pale and pure as ice looked out and into the horizon.
The beautiful yellows, reds and oranges of the morning sky shone without hindrance, dancing over the pristine white clouds below his feet.
This place was known as Shrine Mountain, the highest peak of not just this Plane, but all of existence. It stood so tall that the sun called it friend and even the clouds could only hug its feet.
Throughout the lower planes, millions of geniuses were born everyday, each with the dream of standing at the pinnacle of the world… Each with the dream of sitting in this young man’s very place.

Chapter 39. Celebration party

Since an ending party was a place where people expressed their inner thoughts after the movie ended, the mood of the ending party changed depending on the success of the movie.

In cases in which movies flopped at the box office, some companies didn't even held a ending party.

But if the movie is a huge hit like the case with «Secret spy», then the party is full of wild people.

'They are drinking like there's no tomorrow.'

It was Ren's feelings as he stared at the joyous atmosphere in the restaurant.

While venting about their busy schedules and problems they faced in the middle of filming, all the managers were drinking alcohol like addicts.

Even the production employees, the staff members, the directing team and even the actors who worked on the movie were drinking alcohol like water.

Everyone was drunk in excitement and alcohol tonight.

It was really a crazy atmosphere.

"It is crazy, right."

Ren stared at Chu Min who said the exact same thoughts in his head.

When Chu Min saw Ren stare at him, he sipped a glass of alcohol and said.

"You will get used to it soon. You will probably attend many parties from now on."

"Yeah, I will."

Ren had never visited these celebration parties before and it was his first time visiting one.

Ren had thought that it would be crazy but he didn't knew that it would be filled with this much madness.

No matter where he looked at, all the people were chatting noisily while drinking with each other.

Some even have their arms around each other and were drinking like they are long lost friends who had met after a long time.

"Are you getting used to your schedule?"

Suddenly, Chu Min started talking about work.

"Well, I am slowly getting used to it. I only had some interviews or photoshoots for magazines these days."

"Well, you will slowly get famous. Maybe after you did some more movies or dramas. I myself did many dramas and movies and now, I am finally here."

"So, how is your life, right now. After becoming a mainstream actor?"

Ren asked as he thought about Chu Min's recent schedule.

Honestly, despite them being from the same agency, they didn't met much, especially after Chu Min's popularity shot through the top.

He was even surprised that Chu Min was able to attend the celebration party.

"Me! I am living my dream life, right now. I have tons of fan meetings and I also have couple of advertisements lined up. Although it's a bit tiring, my life can't be better."

"You must be bathing in money, you should treat me to dinner sometime."

"Isn't it you who should treat your brother here to a big grand meal?"

They both laughed after saying that. Despite the difference in popularity, they both were still great friends.

"Hey, Chu Min, come here and have some drinks with us."

As Ren and Chu Min were talking, someone called out to Chu Min and he reluctantly got up to have some drinks leaving Ren to drink alone.

As Ren was eating the chicken skewers, someone approached him.

It was Shi Shang. He was looking dead drunk and his face was also red.

As he came close to Ren, he directly hugged him and started talking excitedly with him.

"Hey, why is you sitting alone here? You do not look like you had many drinks."

"No, I just had a few, I still live in my parents house, so my mother will be angry if I reached home dead drunk."

Ren shook his head as he said that and Shi Shang widened his eyes in disbelief.

"What! You are still living with your parents. I thought that actors are more wild."

'I don't what exactly do you mean by wild?'

Ren thought in his heart but didn't say it out loud. Shi Shang was still talking excitedly.

"Just look at your manager. You should drink like him."

Shi Shang said as he pointed at White bear who was drinking with the other managers.

His face was slightly red but Ren didn't worried much about him as he was a good drinker.

"Well, he is really enjoying himself."

"Yeah, you should also enjoy yourself more. You know in the past..."

Shi Shang said as he excitedly started talking about his past. 

How he first came in contact with the entertainment industry and how he became the marketing team leader.

It was a boring and dull story but Ren still listened to it, albeit reluctantly.

"So, that's how I became the leader of the marketing team."

"Your journey is really great."

"Yeah, it is, right."

Although Ren said that, he didn't wanted to hear more of his story. Thankfully, he didn't stay for too long and walked up to another table releasing Ren from the misery.

After that, Ren again started drinking and eating alone. He wasn't much interested in socialising with others.

If he really went table to table, he would have to drink a lot. He didn't want that.

He was happy that he can eat and drink in peace but his peace didn't stayed for long as someone again approached him.

It was Li Xinru and she was at least looking sober. It looks like she didn't have much alcohol but there were various chicken skewers in her hand.

She was eating them with a happy and satisfied expression.

"You can eat them slowly, you know."

"I finally can eat them after such a long time. Don't tell me to eat it slowly."

Li Xinru said as she grumbled. She was acting as if those skewers would leave her hands if she didn't eat quickly.

After the movie was finished, Li Xinru was also released from her diet. That's why she was happily eating the food.

She sat down and they started talking about their daily lives. How their life had changed after the movie and what are they planning to do in the future.

"So, how's it going for you. Do you decide on your next project?"

Li Xinru suddenly started talking about their next projects.

"Well, I haven't. What about you?"

Although Ren had heard that Jiang Wan was looking at some project proposals, it was still too early to decide.

"Me. My company is planning to have me play as the lead actress of a romantic comedy. Although I haven't read the story yet, Sister Ling said that it was good."

"A romantic comedy, huh. It looks like you are doing great."

"Yeah, I am."

Li Xinru said as he showed him a smug look like she was saying 'look at me, I an great, right'.

Being cast as a lead in a romantic comedy was good, romantic comedies mostly focus on the female characters and being castes as the lead mean that Li Xinru talent has finally been acknowledged.

As Li Xinru and Ren was talking, a woman who looked to be in her 40s approached them.

She was looking somewhat nervous and from what Ren can remember, he had never seen her.

"Hel-hello, my name is Zhu Yin, I worked as a writer."

When she introduced herself, Ren found a switch turning around in his mind.

He had never seen her but Ren felt that he knew her.

Ren, he was someone with great talent in acting and singing but due to bad luck and some wrong choices, he was only able to become a third rate actor.

After dying in an accident, he noticed that he had returned to the past.

With the help of his talents and the knowledge of future, he started his journey to become the trendiest star of the century.

A young man opened his eyes slowly, his instinct takes over to stretch out his body. He lifted himself up on the bed, yawning with wide open mouth closed by his hand. Throwing off his warm and comfortable covers, jumping up from his bed and put his clothes on. He was done it in less than one breath. All this is a routine thing he does every day while peoples out there are still asleep.

The young man was between thirteen and fourteen years old, with a slim body and a childish face. He has a good-looking face. His special blue eyes are like water on the bottom of the ocean. The color of his eyes is a derived gene from his father who has the same eye color that is clear blue.

"Just a little longer and I will not have to worry anymore about those Core Disciples then, my life can be secure in the sect."

This young man named Xuanyuan Wentian. He came from a small family which only consists of three people - his father, his mother and himself as an only child.

A year ago, his parents registered his son, Xuanyuan Wentian at the Sky Cloud Sect disciples recruitment which was held in the center of Sky Cloud City.

In their little family, small Xuanyuan Wentian showed remarkable talents in the presence of his parents. 

The children are allowed to start cultivation at the age of six years. Likewise, Xuanyuan Wentian, he started cultivating at that age. He showed his shocking talent in cultivating when he had just started cultivating.

Unlike other children, Xuanyuan Wentian only needed an instant after starting cultivating to reach the First Stage of Qi Condensation which made his parents shocked and astonished.

As far as people know when the children begin to start cultivation to reach the First Stage of Qi Condensation, usually takes at least one week before cultivators can successfully condense the Qi in nature into core sea after starting to cultivation. Yet, Xuanyuan Wentian requires only one breath to reach the First Stage of Qi Condensation shortly after he has just started stepped into the gateway of cultivation.

Not only that, his cultivation increased rapidly within a week after he reached the First Stage of Qi Condensation, he reached the Second Stage of Qi Condensation from the First Stage of Qi Condensation which making their parents open their mouths and eyes wide. They are shocked by their son's extraordinary talent.

The Xuanyuan Wentian's cultivation speed was so incredible that beyond the normal child's cultivation speed. 

At the age of ten, he made it to Peak Ninth Stage of Qi Condensation. At that age as well, Xuanyuan Wentian successfully broke through the First Stage of Foundation Establishment. While his parents are not surprised anymore as if they feel reasonable about their son's extraordinary talent in the cultivation.

Two years later after Xuanyuan Wentian broke through the First Stage of Foundation Establishment, the biggest and most famous Sect on Sky Cloud Territory held regular disciple recruitment once in a year in the central city. 

Sky Cloud Sect only recruits the children between twelve and fifteen years old, while the level of cultivation at least Third Stage of Qi Condensation or above.

After his parents registered his son, Xuanyuan Wentian was selected as disciples of Sky Cloud Sect with easily and smoothly without the slightest obstacles. Because during the inspection process of Xuanyuan Wentian, not only did he hide his level of cultivation, but he also conceals his whole level of cultivation into the Fourth Stage of Qi Condensation where the highest level of cultivation level of others candidates children was at the Sixth Stage of Qi Condensation.

Meanwhile, the children who showed the highest level of the Qi Condensation stage put on a prideful look on their face as if they were the most genius among the candidates who were elected as disciples of Sky Cloud Sect. Whereas, Xuanyuan Wentian who hid his cultivation level only shook his head to give a sigh. How childish!

Xuanyuan Wentian was not born from a big and rich family, in fact, he was just a mere child growing up in a small family. Those who show proudly the sixth stage of Qi Condensation are the children who come from big and rich families in Sky Cloud City.

Actually, Xuanyuan Wentian may show his true talent in front of inspectors, but that is not a good idea, it is likely inviting the trouble to his family's doorstep due to the jealousy of the big families in the city towards his poor family. How could a mere small family raise the monstrous talent like him?

It's good if peoples who witnessed it can still think positively. What if they think that his family has a rare treasure in order to raise their son into a monstrous talent? It was not fortune, but a calamity for him and both of his parents.

In this world, the strong eat the weak. Only the strong can conquer the weak, while the weak can only crawl under the strong's legs. 

Human is a greedy creature. From ancient times until now, most people only value gold than life. They will use any means to be able to get honey in the honeycomb.

Therefore, in order to maintain the peace of his family's life, both of his parents asked Xuanyuan Wentian to keep the low profile. More importantly, Xuanyuan Wentian doesn't really like to be the center of many people's attention, so it is truly troublesome for him if there is many problems come to him due to his extraordinary talent.

After leaving his family, Xuanyuan Wentian did not show much enthusiasm on his face like other children, he was willing to go to Sky Cloud Sect because of the wishes of his parents, he did not want to become an unfilial child for his parents. 

He knows his parents are doing this all for himself to gain experience in order not to be a frog at the bottom of a well...

In the world of cultivation, experts are innumerable like a cloud. He understands some things from his parents that the Foundation Establishment is not the peak of the cultivation level. Above Foundation Establishment is Core formation and above it again is Nascent Soul which according to information that he knows the Sovereign of Sky Cloud Sect itself has reached the stage of Nascent Soul.

Nascent Soul is the highest cultivation stage in entire of Sky Cloud City. The person who made it to the stage of Nascent Soul in this Sky Cloud City can only be counted in one hand, one of which is Sovereign of Sky Cloud Sect...

After entering Sky Cloud Sect, as Xuanyuan Wentian become Outer Disciples. He realized that the highest cultivation among the Outer Disciples was the Ninth Stage of Qi Condensation. It can be said, If the disciples successfully broke through into the Foundation Establishment from Qi Condensation then it can become Inner Disciples of Sky Cloud Sect.

However, Xuanyuan Wentian who has managed to break through the Foundation Establishment stage even before he gets into Sky Cloud Sect does not directly enter into Inner Sect. 

As if he remained a low profile, he did not want peoples to notice him as an Inner Disciple shortly after he entered the Outer Sect. It will draw a lot of attention to others disciples who have been long stuck in the Outer Sect. He neither want to offend his senior nor accept the challenge of his senior because it will be really inconvenient for him living in this Sect with grudge everywhere. 

Xuanyuan Wentian only wants to practice safely and peacefully in this sect without having many enemies because of his rashness.

A year later, Xuanyuan Wentian succeeded in becoming an Inner Disciple along with disciples who had stuck a long time in an Outer Sect a year ago. Not many succeeded in breaking through the Foundation Establishment stage among their seniors in Outer Disciples, only ten peoples managed to break through and become an Inner Disciple of which a third of them are Zhao Feng, Ying Yue, and Xuanyuan Wentian as new disciples who entered a year ago.

Zhao Feng and Ying Yue were two black horses that advanced to the Inner Sect. They were the new geniuses who joined the Outer Sect, after a year they were finally able to break through the First Stage of the Establishment Foundation and advance into the Inner Disciple.

Likewise, Xuanyuan Wentian did not stay too long to be an Outer Disciple because the resources he received on the Outer Sect were so limited and unsatisfactory. So, two months after Zhao Feng and Ying Yue ascend to Inner Sect, he decided to register as an Inner Disciple.

His cultivation has also skyrocketed since entering Sky Cloud Sect. A year ago when Xuanyuan Wentian participated in the disciple's recruitment of Sky Cloud Sect he was in the Third Stage of the Foundation Establishment, yet now he is stepping into the Seventh Stage of the Foundation Establishment, thanks to the resources that sect provides.

However, his success in being an Inner Student did not bring too much attention as he remained a low profile among the Outer Disciples, many people in the sect do not really know him. 

As he was trying his best to keep a low profile, he suppressed his cultivation during an Inner Disciple inspection that originally he was in the Seventh Stage Foundation of the Establishment into the First Stage of the Foundation Establishment.

Humans are full of pride and arrogance. That kind of peoples was always disregarding common peoples.

The strongest ones being a public figure, the talented ones want to be a public figure and untalented ones fighting beyond its limits.

In this world, strength is everything. With the power of peoples will get fame, wealth and position.

A SMALL STORY

People come and say to me, 'I have too many fears. What can I do?'
I tell them, 'If you have too many fears, the possibility for enlightenment is more. So many doors are available to you!'
For a person who doesn't have too many fears, the possibility, the number of doors is also fewer because he leads a dull life. A person who leads a dull life will not have much fear. He has nothing much to lose, nothing much to decide. He is not taking many risks. But a living being who is doing many things and making many decisions will experience fear. If you are experiencing too much fear then so many doors are available for your enlightenment!
One more thing: only if you can open it can it be called a door. If you don't know how to open it, then it is more like a wall. If you are experiencing too many fears in your life and if you know the right technique, all those fears can become doors and you can be liberated. Otherwise all the fears are like walls, and it is as if you are caught in a big prison.
If you are in tune with the idea, 'Nothing can be done by me,' youare a bhakti yogi - you surrender.
If you think, 'Everything can be done by me,' you are a gnana yogi - you explore and experience.

Bhakti yogi - A person who follows the path of devotion, bhakti yoga, as a means to enlightenment.
Gnana yogi - - One who follows the path of knowledge for Self-Realization.

All you need to do is, every time you feel fear, do not disrespect yourself. Do not lose confidence or condemn yourself thinking, 'What kind of a being am I?' Actually, people who can face their fears do not have so many problems. People who are afraid of their fears create more problems for themselves. When you brood too much about your fears, you start thinking you have problems.
If you understand the true nature of fear, it can be considered a blessing. If you are courageous enough to face the fear, it can lead you to liberation.
Sometimes, just by switching your attention to something else, you can come out of fear. But that is not fearlessness. Fearlessness means taking a quantum jump into the consciousness where you will never experience fear of losing anything! The fears that you have about your life, be it fear of failure, fear of losing your near and dear ones, fear of losing your wealth, fear of the unknown - every fear can be used as a door to enlightenment.
Either you are filled with tension or you are filled with energy. If you are filled withmtension, you are trying to take energy by force from the source within you that does not die, without knowing the technique.
There is a source of energy within you that never dies, your atman* or Self. If you try to take energy by force from this source without knowing the right technique, it creates tension. Whenever you try to create energy in youby remembering some desire or fantasy, it is like trying to kick the door in and take the energy from the other side. You want the energy but you don't have the patience to open the door. You can use the key to patiently open the door and allow that bliss and energy to come into your being. That key is called meditation.
 Another important truth you should know: There is something within you that never dies which is your source of energy. There is also something within you that dies, something that is actually never alive even now. The fear of death exists in you because you think there is something you have now that will be taken away from you. No! Anything that you have now, cannot be taken away. Anything that can be taken away, you never had in the first place. Anything that can die can never occupy your inner space.
Fearlessness is courage to face fear You cannot conquer fear. Fearlessness means intelligence to live the intense fear without directing it towards any object. When there is no object to be afraid of, the intense fear will give such an intense relaxation and peace.
 Fear is a powerful energy which gives a deep relaxation, a deep centeredness. The fear center is the rejuvenation center. Fearlessness is not suppressing fear. For example, when you are afraid to cross a dark area in the night, you start thinking of and repeating god's name. Because of fear, god's name will be topmost in your mind! You feel that you don't have fear because your inner chatter is engaged in something else! When you engage your inner chatter in something else, you feel that you are out of fear. But you have only diverted your attention, you haven't solved the problem completely.
There is a saying, 'When a cat drinks milk, it will close its eyes tight and think thatmthe whole world has become dark, and therefore, nobody can see it!' Understand, you also do the same thing when you don't pay attention to the fear, and then believe that the fear has disappeared.
Fearlessness does not mean non-existence of fear. It means the fear is there, but you have tremendous energy or courage to live with it and face it. Fearlessness means having the energy or the courage to live even with the maximum fear. It is going beyond that fear and being neither attached to nor detached from the fear.
One more important thing you should know is fear is part of the nature of life. People come and ask me, 'What should I do about my fear of the unknown?' I tell them, 'Fear is a good sign, it means you are alive! There is a possibility of losing something, and that is why you are afraid. If you don't have any possibility of loss, you will never be afraid.' You can be fearless if you are already in your grave! Then there is no need to be afraid of anything because you have nothing to lose! If you have something to lose, you will have fear. That is the nature of life itself. Fear does not exist when things are definite and known. Fear exists only when things are not definite, when they are mere possibilities and unknown in that sense. For example, death is a possibility. As an incident it is definite, but when and how it might happen is not clear. So there is always fear associated with it.

Atman - soul, spirit, consciousness, etc., as referring to the individual imperishable energy that is a holographic image of the Cosmic Consciousness of our own inner clarity. Suffering has tremendous potential to integrate and transform us.
Start to witness your experiences without judgment. See with clarity where you are suffering at the gross and subtle levels. If you are just aware, the suffering itself can open your eyes to the unreality of suffering. It can teach you how unnecessary it is to suffer at all. This is what I call 'necessary suffering'! Once you learn your lesson through necessary suffering,  you will handle suffering in a much more mature and beautiful way.
The master Bodhidharma* says, 'Every suffering is a Buddha-seed.' Suffering can propel you to become a Buddha. It can bring you the wisdom of knowing all about life and reality. He says, don't be against suffering. Feel grateful to suffering and pain because they create the situation for you to search for the truth. Otherwise, you will just live life like a rock or plant. You will not realize the ultimate, which can only be achieved by the human consciousness. If the body and mind are the field, suffering is the seed, wisdom is the sprout, and the ultimate state you attain is the grain! When you sow the seed of suffering in the field that is your body-mind, wisdom sprouts from it, and you attain the ultimate state!
