In a world totally different from ours there exists people known as Dino Tamers, skilled humans who control dinosaurs and use them to battle. All matters in this world are settled via Clashes, a match between tamers and their charges (their dinosaurs).

In this world, strength and skill is everything and your ability to wield your charge is what decides your fate. 

Its here that we follow Blake Wilson on his journey to become the greatest tamer ever.

Imagine if one day you suddenly woke up in the era of Dinosaurs?

So why don't we find out how he had lived his life in the Era of Dinosaurs? In case, you got transported one day too.

In any case, all nine tribes had to get accustomed to this world and survive to the best of their abilities. Hence, there wasn't actually much for Tina and An Lin to do at this point.
The birth of these nine tribes further diversified the world and also changed the balance of the entire world.
The dinosaurs were still the rulers of this world.
However, the emergence of the nine tribes exerted unprecedented pressure on the dinosaurs.
The nine tribes grew more and more powerful with each passing generation, and some of the tribes who were more into research, such as the Snake Spirit Clan, the Holy Martial Clan, and the Heavenly Turtle Tribe, had even devised basic cultivation methods.
On the other hand, the dinosaurs weren't really making many self-improvements.
An Lin knew that it was the dinosaurs' lack of intelligence that limited their progression. They weren't highly intelligent lifeforms, so they were unable to create or learn cultivation methods and divine abilities. As a result, they could only rely on their aptitudes.
Thus, there were very few first-rate powerful beings among the dinosaurs, and they could only use quantity to make up for what they lacked in quality.
Meanwhile, there were already Spirit Nurturing Stage powerful beings that appeared within the nine tribes. This pushed the power scale in this world to a whole new level.
As the nine tribes became more and more powerful, a war against the dinosaurs inevitably erupted.
This was an earth-shattering war that decided who would be able to obtain more territories and resources.
Within the forests of the south.
Packs of winged dinosaurs flew toward a gargantuan tree. They could detect extremely powerful vital energy fluctuations from the tree as well as the forest it belonged to, and this was something that was quite attractive to them. 
The pack of close to a hundred winged dinosaurs was only facing one enemy, and that was a member of the Vermilion Bird Tribe.
Countless sound waves and air blast attacks instantly converged toward the bird that was enveloped in white flames while leaving snapped tree trunks and pulverizing tree branches in their paths.
The bird showed no hint of fear as it let loose a sharp screech before boundless flames began to sweep toward its assailants. The flames clashed with the air blasts before conquering them in a split second and engulfing the pack of winged dinosaurs that could only look on in shock and horror.
A series of anguished wails reverberated through the air as one roasted winged dinosaur after another fell from the sky.
A disdainful expression appeared on the bird's face as it returned to the gargantuan tree, where it closed its eyes to rest.
Up in the sky, An Lin surveyed the battle with relish before turning to the woman beside him. "As expected of the baby bird that was once held by you; it's already at the Spirit Nurturing Final Stage! Did you use some hacks on it?"
"Hmph! What kind of fairy do you take me for?"
Tina waved her fists around as she glowered at An Lin.
An Lin shrugged before turning to the hundreds of images displayed before him. All the images displayed the battles between the dinosaurs and the nine tribes, and all the battles ended in landslide victories to the nine tribes, while the dinosaurs were completely crushed.
In the pitiful minority of battles won by the dinosaurs, they employed tactics of basically drowning their enemies with numbers, and the numbers of dinosaurs that they sacrificed made the victories quite pointless.
For example, an army of thirty Dragon Tribe cultivators was torn to shreds by over a thousand aquatic dinosaurs, but they were able to take down several hundred of their opponents before they all fell.
As aforementioned, there were some particularly intelligent dinosaurs that invented all sorts of stone tools, among which included protective equipment as well as weapons.
However, the Holy Martial Clan invented a method to force their vital energy to the surface of their bodies in order to act as strength-enhancement gloves. These weapons were far superior to any stone weapons or armor, and a fully-grown Holy Martial Clan cultivator wearing the aforementioned vital energy gloves could pulverize one shark-tooth dinosaur, along with their full suit of stone armor, in one punch.
This disparity in equipment was a direct manifestation of the disparity in intelligence and aptitude between the species. 
Even though the dinosaurs already had enhanced aptitude bestowed upon them by Tina, this was simply the upper limit of what they were capable of. There was no way for them to improve further no matter how hard they tried, not unless they somehow evolved into a higher intelligence life form.
The battle for the territories lasted for several dozen years.
In the end, the population of the dinosaurs drastically decreased, and their territory dwindled significantly as a result.
The rulers of the world had been dethroned to the second tier on the food chain.
The new rulers of the world had already been born; they were the highly intelligent and gifted nine tribes!
After they established their positions in this world, the world seemed to have transformed once again. It appeared to be more full of vitality and somehow more prosperous.
"Alright, this world is ready for us to create humans!" Tina's emerald eyes shone with excitement and anxiety.
An Lin was also extremely excited to hear this.
The creation of humans… This was a legendary miracle!
No one knew exactly where humans came from, but the humans on Earth were most likely created by Nuwa!
Then what kind of existence was Nuwa? She had transcended above and beyond even all the legendary Dao Integration Stage True Gods on Tai Chu Continent. There was no term to describe what her cultivation base was, but it was no exaggeration to refer to her as a God of Creation.
Tina was about to do something that Nuwa had done before. How could An Lin remain calm with this notion in mind?
"What do we need to prepare in advance?" An Lin asked with excitement on his face.
"Hmm… I might need a wood-type immortal pill that is imbued with spiritual power." Tina stole a careful glance up at An Lin with a hint of uneasiness on her face, as if she was afraid that An Lin would reject her request.
"No problem!" An Lin immediately clapped his hands together in agreement and asked, "Anything else?"
"Ah…" Tina faltered slightly, as if she hadn't expected An Lin to agree so easily. "That's all for now…"
"Alright! Let me out of here, and I'll get that immortal pill for you right away," An Lin replied with zero hesitation.
Tina aimed a grateful glance at him before placing her soft, warm hand on An Lin's forehead.
After a rush of dizziness, An Lin was back.
Tina's hand was still placed on An Lin's head, and she slowly opened her eyes with a hint of exhaustion on her face. "Giant An Lin, I'm going to take a nap. Wake me up when you get back."
"No problem!" An Lin immediately rushed out the door to fly toward Dou Shuai Palace.
Four hours later, he returned with a triumphant expression while holding a fifth-grade immortal pill in his hand.
However, right at this moment, An Lin caught sight of a familiar figure.
Xu Xiaolan had her hands on her hips as she glowered at An Lin. "An Lin! You've been ditching classes for close to a month! It's almost time for the end-of-term examinations, why are you still not coming to classes?! I'm not going to apply for anymore leave for you!"
"Ah… We're up to the most important stage now, so please apply for a few more days of leave for me," An Lin said as he scratched his head sheepishly.
"Most important stage? What are you up to?" Xu Xiaolan's brows furrowed as she glanced at An Lin with suspicion on her slightly flushed features.
"I'm creating a life with Tina!" An Lin replied with excitement on his face.
Xu Xiaolan's body swayed upon hearing this. "Cre… creating life?!"
"That's right! Haha, didn't expect that, did ya?" An Lin chuckled before a chill suddenly ran down his spine.
"That's right, I didn't expect that…" Xu Xiaolan's face convulsed before she suddenly seemed to realize something. She then asked, "How are you going to create a life with her?"
"Remember how I told you that I'm able to project my consciousness into Tina's world? Well, her world has progressed to the stage where we can create humans in there! This is the birth of a new human race! How stimulating is that?" An Lin was gushing with excitement.
Xu Xiaolan heaved a sigh of relief before nodding her head. "It really is quite stimulating…"
"Then I won't keep you from what you're doing. But I'm only going to apply for a week more of leave for you. After that, it will be the end-of-term examinations. I won't be able to help you if the homeroom teacher comes to find you." Xu Xiaolan splayed her hands before her.
"Thank you, Celestial Maiden Xiaolan!"
An Lin immediately waved his hand in farewell as he eagerly made his way back to his dorm room.
"Jeez… He won't even take an extra look at me… Is the creation of humans really that interesting to watch?" Xu Xiaolan muttered to herself as she shook her head and walked back toward her own dorm room.

Looking around he finally noticed a Brontosaurus walking in his direction. At first he thought he was done for, however he then identified what dinosaur that was, and heaved a sigh. Now more calmed, he looked around, and noticed many other dinosaurs, Dodos, Carbonemys and Pachys. 

Climbing over a big rock close by, and feeling a little more secure, Kano examined the gem in his army.   

"What is this?" Examining the gem closer, he thought of a menu, like he did to open the system screen, and like he expected, a menu appeared.

The menu was different from the other, it looked like a craft menu. It showed 2 types of craft, personal recipes and system recipes. The personal, were items that he knew how to make, since he was an computer engineer, there were many electronic components and items, it showed the material required for every item, he noticed that only the things he really new how to make, part by part were there. One example was that he knew how bows worked, but he didn't know the materials required for the wood and string. Since bows needed a bendable wood and, a elastic and strong string. 

In the system recipes, it included some simple recipes, mostly tools, that he didn't know, however the material cost for them was big. It showed craft level 1, so if he upgraded the system, he would get new recipes. 

"Now I know where I am, it's the A.S. game. The survival game with dinosaurs. But what about the..." Before he could finish, the menu of the white room appeared with a message. 

[Attention, you can only access this menu once a week. Are you sure you want to open it now?]

"I see, I have to be careful now, the menu now has a 7 days cooldown, I need to use it only when necessary."

It was then that he remembered the reward for entering here. When he thought of his friends list, a list with a map appeared. He thought of Fox, Wolf and iris. All 3 names appeared, but only Wolf and Iris showed on the map. 

Wolf was close by, but iris was a little far to the east, and by the direction, she was on a island called "Herbivore island". He decided to go to Wolf's location, who was also coming in his direction.

He started to walk in Wolf's direction, and soon enough he saw him in the distance. It is good to find a friend in a hostile place, it calms the heart. However they didn't have time to calm down, they first needed to find Iris. She was kinda safe, since she was in "Herbivore island".

While they were deciding what to do, they noticed that Iris marker on the screen started to move at a fast speed over the water. Soon they saw a boat coming there way. And by the marker location, Iris was on that boat. If not for that, they might have hidden nearby.

From afar they could see a human silhouette piloting the boat, and no one else in the boat. When the boat got close, they saw that the pilot was actually Iris. Iris approached, and stopped the boat really close to the beach. Wolf was surprised he didn't know his girlfriend knew how to pilot a boat. 

Holding a hope, Iris got down and pulled the boat closer to the beach. 

"Hey guys, good to see you here. Come I have something to show you." Said Iris while waving for them to come. 

They got into the boat, and Iris piloted in the "Herbivore island" direction. Wolf asked when did she learn how to pilot boats. She told him, that she once made a course to get licence, but she never finished the test. So she didn't have a licence. 

Suddenly while they were talking, Kano noticed a something inside the water. 

"Shit! Go faster it's coming" Warned Kano.

Iris was fast to react and pushed the speed lever to the max. The boat speeded ahead, when suddenly something came out of the water.

"It's a Leedsichthys. There are no carnivorous or hostile dinosaurs in the island, however the water around it is dangerous exactly because of this guys. We need to go faster, only when we arrived at shallow water will he stop following us." Said Kano.

"Let me try something." Said Wolf as he started to cast a spell.

He looked at the Leedsichthys eyes, and it stopped its moviment. He didn't know if it would work with fishes, but since the magic said it worked with animals, he trough it might work, and it really did. 
After they were far enough so that Wolf could not look at the Leedsichthys eyes, it recovered control and dived. They were already close to the island so there didn't care much about it anymore.

Iris piloted the boat to enter the bay, and from there they were able to see, the island had a small mountain in U shape direct open to the bay, around the mountain there were many sentry guns defending it. In the middle of the U mountain there was a huge black metal building, with many sentry guns around it. At the beach close to the bay there was a small structure like a security cabin. There was no one on sight. 

Iris stopped the boat at a small dock in front of the cabin, she tied the rope to the dock, and told everyone to leave it. She walked in the cabins direction. The guns moved aiming at there direction. Wolf and Kano stopped while Iris continue in the cabins direction. When she got close a metallic voice sounded.

"Welcome miss Iris, you are being followed by two unidentified peoples, do you want to start defense protocols?"

"It's ok Alfred, they are with me."

"I understand Iris, however by the creator's will I can't allow them to get in, unless they pass the identity test." 

"Guys come close, and enter the cabin, you will need to prove your identities to Alfred, Fox created him and this base and the defenses around it. Expecting us to come, he placed a little test for us." After hearing Iris, Kano and Wolf walked in the Iris direction and one by one entered the cabin to give it a try.

After saying their names, Alfred asked questions about them. Some about their personal life, other about Fox. Soon enough both passed the test and gained Alfred's approval to enter the compound. 
 
With there identities verified they proceeded to enter the compound. When they got close to the gate, it automatically opened. Getting inside they saw… Nothing.  There was a huge hangar area with nothing inside.

The first time i was planning this mission, I decided with a battle royale, so I looked for movies and games. However a movie would need a background story for it to work, and most B.R. games, where simple killing no survival element besides gun skills. So I was down to only A.S. .

As I said before I will do a little change of viewpoint.

This is the last mission before the start of the real ACT 1. Everything until now, was to give points to the players and allow then to grow. I gave them points divided in phases, so that they could know what they needed more. If they had build the character without going through the challenges, they might make unbalanced ones.

I am no writer, nor have i ever tried writing, this is my first experience with this kind of thing. However, i am a GM(game master) of D&D, Gurps and Story teller, and this story is actually based in a campaign i created, but was never able to finish, since me and my friends had to drop for many personal reasons.

This book will contain game elements, however i will try to make the game system a lot transparent, with only some details, and i will only use the system as a guide since the campaign was based on it. 

The game was for Gurps(Generic and Universal Role Playing System) and you might notice some resemblance in the game system i will use.

Fox(MC) was thrown in a game by a been that called itself God, he and many other players now need to complete missions in order to survive. 

The first few chapters will be tutorial missions set to help the players adapt. 

The main arc will start when the tutorial ends and the first mission start. He might need many missions and years to finish one world or he might started a sub mission in a different plane or world before finishing the main one.

Master Hairwood said, "Please allow me to answer this question later because this question is really serious. It's so serious that it can make people doubt their very lives."
Everyone exclaimed, but no one asked.
Lu Qing and Jiang Yumeng seemed a little excited. They seemed to have become the pioneers of the world and were about to reveal the veil of the world.
Red Boy said, "Master, I'm already beginning to doubt life. That old fellow is clearly speaking nonsense. Look at the picture. The location of the flying saucer is clearly a picture taken at a close range."
Fangzheng said, "Don't randomly make any conclusions without evidence. Let's see what happens."
Red Boy smacked his lips. "What's there to see? Let me go up and give him two slaps. I'll throw them into the pot and cook him for a while. I guarantee he'll say whatever I want him to say."
Fangzheng said with a smile, "That's not what I want. What I want is for everyone here to understand, not just me."

Red Boy's eyes lit up. "Can I? We didn't pay any lesson fees."
Fangzheng smiled. "Guide them into a dream and make it impossible for them to see us. They will treat us as their own. Therefore…"
"Got it!" Red Boy immediately said before raising his hands in excitement. He asked, "Master, may I know what the UFO in your picture was made of? Why do I see nails?"
Just as Master Hairwood was about to start speaking, he suddenly heard the words that destroyed the atmosphere. He was instantly stunned as he subconsciously looked at Red Boy and thought to himself, "Why is here to mess sh*t up?"
At the same time, Master Hairwood looked at the female assistant, as if asking who this fellow was.
The female assistant subconsciously took out the list of students and scanned it. However, there were two more people on the list of forty people—Fangzheng and Jingxin.
The two names sounded familiar, but she couldn't remember where she had heard them before.
This was thanks to A Golden Millet Dream. Otherwise, with Fangzheng and Red Boy's reputation, they would probably be exposed at once.
The female assistant nodded at Master Hairwood, indicating that they were a student of theirs. Perhaps they hadn't been taught well or they didn't put much effort in their studies, so they needed to provide them with greater education.
Master Hairwood nodded slightly to express his understanding. Then, he smiled at Red Boy and said, "That's not a nail. It's something on a flying saucer. I'm not sure what it is exactly. If I knew, I can create a flying saucer myself. That way humans don't have to be trapped here."
Some people smiled when they heard that as they praised Master for his humor.
Red Boy laughed as well. "Oh, I see. Master, continue."
Master Hairwood nodded his head in satisfaction and continued, "Emige is an old Pleiadian. Perhaps someone will ask, how would I know he's old? Then I'll tell you that the Pleiadians look almost identical to us humans. According to Emige, we humans are their descendants, which is why they pay attention to us and have helped us many times."
"Master, may I ask what kind of help did the Pleiadians give us?" Chen Long suddenly asked.
Master Hairwood said, "Archaeologists have discovered that in the era of dinosaurs, there were traces of human activity. For example, human footprints and handprints are found in fossils. You can find relevant information on the Internet, but later on, dinosaurs and other living beings went extinct; yet, humanity survived. Don't you find it strange?"
Red Boy mumbled, "What's so strange about it? Humans live their lives better than dinosaurs. I'm curious as to how the Chinese alligator survived from being put on the dining table…"
Master Hairwood: "…"
Master Hairwood couldn't be bothered with Red Boy. He pretended not to hear him and continued, "Later on, Emige left. His daughter came to Earth many years later. This is the first time I've seen female Pleiadians, and I have to say that they are very charming."
As he spoke, the picture on the big screen changed to a scenery under the setting sun. It was still a farm. There was an old tree, but no tractor. However, behind the old tree, there was a flying saucer that looked much more realistic.
Master Hairwood said, "This is Xewa's flying saucer. Xewa told me a lot about the Universe and she also pointed out the problem that Emige had previously mentioned."
Chen Long asked, "Master, what is the problem they were talking about?"
Master Hairwood thought for a moment and said, "This is also what I want to tell everyone today. At the same time, it's also the reason why I'm here. I hope that everyone will listen to me and not tell anyone because this matter is extremely important."
Everyone promised not to tell anyone.
Fangzheng narrowed his eyes. It was finally coming to the main topic!

Red Boy said, "Then I want a computer worth ten thousand yuan!"

After the promotional video ended, Master Hairwood said, "Many people ask me what exactly did Emige showed me and what did Xewa revealed to me. In that case, I'll tell everyone about it today. But before that, please be mentally prepared. No matter what doubts you have, ask after I'm done. Alright?"
The students collectively said, "Alright!"
Master Hairwood said, "Very well, then I'll begin. Let's talk about the truth that Emige showed me. It's the truth that all the world leaders are aware of, but refuse to tell you!"
With that said, Master Hairwood waved his hand, and the big screen changed once again. A continent floated in the sky, with the sun, moon, and stars…
Master Hairwood said, "Emige brought me onto his spaceship and allowed me to look down upon Earth from up high. What I saw wasn't a ball, but a flat piece of land! A flat piece of land that's floating in the rain!"
"How is this possible?" Everyone exclaimed. At that moment, even Red Boy's mouth widened as he mumbled. "What f**king nonsense!"

The temple has a bald but handsome monk. Every day, he would bawl, "I want to renounce asceticism! I want to marry a chick that's not too pretty, have a cute baby, and lead a stable life!"

This book is a casual novel that introduces various Chinese traditional customs, as well as Buddhist ones. It strives to be a positive book, allowing people to reflect on how they should live their lives and treat others.

Aella picked up Precious and unconsciously started warming the soaked cub.  He seemed to melt with a sigh, into her arms and started purring from the warmth.  Pulling out a chunk of meat from her purse, she gave it to him and he all but inhaled it.
Her mind wasn't as chaotic as it had been before.  Whether that came from acquiring the earth element, or just from getting a chance to rest, she wasn't sure.  The ability to think was glorious and she took full advantage of it.
Glancing around the dark cave, Aella gave a start.  She couldn't see with her eyes, but she could still tell where every bump in the floor and wall was.  The water had collected here from seeping through microcracks in the walls.  Before they had invaded this tiny space, the water had been pure and drinkable from being filtered through the rocks.  She studied the various crystals and mineral veins for a moment, and felt earth approve.
Turning her attention to Precious, she frowned at the thought of how easily he had been at the mercy of the wind from the crazy storm.  If they were going to be bonded for life, he needed some kind of protection from the elements she could now control.  Turning her thoughts inward, to the elements that flowed along her veins, Aella asked them their thoughts.  None of them cared much for the question and ignored her.  The ring of air mastery answered, though.  It didn't have a problem following the magical bond that tied them together to bestow protection from air attacks to the kitten.  Precious froze, digging his claws into her arm, as the ring greeted him.
"Aella, why is something talking to me in my head?" he mewed in distrust.
"Ha!  You better get used to that if you plan to stay by my side," she laughed.  "I have so many different voices in my head I have to talk out loud sometimes to hear myself think."
"Is that why you mumble to yourself?" he asked, giving her a grin.
"Probably," she nodded.  "I seem to be able to absorb magical items with lots of personality, and then they hold whole conversations with each other in my head.  It gets pretty crowded sometimes."
"Well, I don't care to listen to your head.  And I would appreciate it if they stayed out of mine," he growled.
"The air mastery ring is the one who just spoke," she said with a smirk.  "It was trying to protect you from the wind above."
He perked up.  "So, I won't have to worry about being blown away now?"
"Maybe," she agreed.
"Then, maybe I can stand it a little," he sighed, settling back into her warmth and withdrawing his claws from her arm.
Putting him on her shoulder, with an annoyed grunt from him, she teleported them both back to the surface.  It must be nighttime, because it was even darker than before, and she could barely make out the huddled forms of the lizard people from the other realm.
"Are you going to kill us as well?" asked one, looking up at her.
"Do you intend to tear my realm apart?" asked Aella.
"No, we were merely fleeing from the devourers," said another with a shudder.
"As you can see, my realm is struggling right now.  This storm covers the entire surface and will remain for a while.  You are welcome to stay and settle down if you want, if you do not intend harm to the realm.  What kind of environment does your kind prefer?"
"Our scaled hide is sufficient to protect us from the vast majority of this type of wind, but we really prefer much wetter places, with swamps and marshes," said the first thoughtfully.
Aella thought about all the places she had visited and shook her head.  She didn't remember seeing a place like that at all.
"I can take you to a place that had water and a cave for you to stay in for the duration of the storm.  After it subsides, I can find you a better location?" she offered.
"Will there be food available?  We like to eat a lot of fish, but any meat would be suitable," said one of the lizards, looking a little uncomfortable.
Aella wondered how long it had been since they ate last, then remembered that she needed to find food for the lions.  If these things could survive the storm with the hide they had, maybe the dinosaurs would too.
"I am in charge of making sure all of the peoples of the realm are fed during the storm," she said.
"Are you the realm guardian?" asked another lizard, moving closer to ask.
"Yes, but it's a new position," she admitted.  "I'm still trying to get used to it.  So, you have to excuse me if I struggle a bit."
"We had a realm guardian, but he fell to the devourers when they attacked," said the first lizard shuddering.  "He's the one who managed to open the portal to your realm for us to escape."
"I managed to grab the eggs from our brooding pools, but I fear they will all die before I can find another suitable pool for them," whispered a smaller lizard in the back, hanging its head in sorrow.
Aella didn't see a bag on it, but it could have magic of some kind she supposed.  She would need to keep an eye on these new additions, to make sure they didn't have anything dangerous to her home, but if they did have an understanding of magic, she might be able to learn from them.
"Let me take you to the cave, then I will gather food for you," said Aella. "You must be touching me for me to teleport you."
The lizards gathered around her, struggling to all be in contact with her, and Aella teleported them to the clearing she had taken Joseph's kids in the mountains.  The cave was being the waterfall, and the lizards quickly disappeared into it.  Aella followed them, to find out more about the pools they would need for their eggs.  She didn't have water, but she might be able to persuade earth to form a few pools.
Earth was surprisingly willing to go along with her request and the lizards rejoiced to know their eggs would be safe for the moment.
Teleporting high above her demon city, Aella looked around through the thick haze of the storm, to see if she could spy any dinosaurs huddling from the storm.  Precious wasn't entirely thrilled to be high above the city in the middle of the storm and burrowed his head into the crook of her neck, digging his claws into the leather bracer that she formed under him, giving him a more secure seat.
Glancing at him in amusement, she teleported to a group of dinosaurs that were moving slowly across the wind beaten field, eating the grass as it moved in sync.  She was tempted to kill them all, but if they could survive the three months this way, they may be needed later in the storm, so she left them and started looking around for dinosaurs that were struggling much more.
All of the creatures that depended on flying to find their food were weak and dying, so she cleared all of the cliffsides of them, teleporting them to the city and the cave of lizards until there were more than enough for both the lizards and the lions.
"Aella!" cried Alfred as she hovered over the field looking over her recent haul and trying to decide if she was done for the night or not.
"What is it?" she asked, landing next to him.
"General Brimsey is ill, and Josephine doesn't know what's wrong.  We're not sure he's going to make it," said Alfred, giving her a look.  "He's asking for you."
Aella nodded, grabbing Alfred's arm and teleporting them to the sick room Josephine had set up.  The Water Hero looked exhausted.  She rushed over to her father's side and took his hand.  Brimsey opened his eyes and looked up at her.
"I don't have long," he whispered.
"You got hurt from one of those devourers, didn't you?" she asked, feeling the familiar taint as she held his hand.
"You better cremate me once I'm gone," he whispered.
"Don't worry," she whispered back, feeling her breath catch.  She couldn't possibly be getting emotional, could she?  Precious licked her face where tears were trickling down and hopped off her shoulder to give her a private moment.
"We'll give you a moment with him," said Josephine, giving her a small smile of comfort before grabbing Alfred's arm and dragging him from the room.  He seemed confused but followed.
"Heard you were going to be the realm guardian," said Brimsey, pulling strength from somewhere to look her in the eyes.
"Yeah," she said, sitting on the side of his bed.
"You need to make someone else king.  Taking care of a whole realm is way more work than just running a kingdom," he said, struggling to say it all without coughing.
"I was thinking about that," she said, leaning forward so he didn't have to talk so loudly.
"I had been hoping to find out the secret behind the heroes, but I guess it's not so important anymore."
"They were created by the realm, to watch over the different races," said Aella, surprised that he didn't know that.
"So, the church stole them all and made them all human?" he asked, giving a short laugh and then wincing.  "That sounds like them."
"I seem to be acquiring all of the elements, though," whispered Aella, holding his hand with both of hers.
"Whatever you do," he started to say, then paused to catch his breath.  His energy seemed to be fading fast.
"What?" she asked, desperate to make the moment last.  How could she be losing him already?  He was her father!
"Don't take the light," he whispered.  "Dark doesn't like…it."
Aella sat on the side of the bed for several moments, watching the life drain from her father's face.  Despite all the scars and lines of age, his face looked peaceful.  As his face started to ripple from the devourer toxins taking over, Aella teleported him back to the cave Rupert had died in.  It seemed fitting to cremate her father there.
As the shadow awoke in her veins, she found she could see in the dark without any light at all.  What other abilities had she just gained?

The demons had been told they were evil for so long, that they believed it.  Aella vowed to change that.  She just needed a hero to help her make them realize it.  But first, she had to become their king...

Follow her as she fights to become the king of the demons, and then goes up against the evils of the human church.

"Uwahhh!!!!"
"Hey, little darling, why are you crying? Are you lost? Where are your parents??" The woman who found the lost, frightened boy asked sweetly.
"Ahhhh… Uwwaaaahhh!!!!! Hu… Hu… Hu…" The little boy wailed as he covered his eyes with his forearms. His mouth gaped and revealed some of his milk teeth, pink little tongue, and his actively exercised tonsils.
"Mommy!" He uttered in between wails. "Uwahhh!!!!"
A lady in her early twenties rushed to the crying little boy. "Where have you been, Chen Lingtian?! We looked for you everywhere! That's what you get for not following instructions. I bet you saw something that piqued your interest yet again!" The young lady sighed. "You always do that! You shouldn't leave our group! See what happens when you do!" She hugged and rubbed the boy's back soothingly.
The young lady in her twenties bowed in gratitude and simultaneously apologized to the woman who found and surrendered the boy to the paging system of the mall.
That's the place where they were at the moment – at the office of the paging system.
The boy clutched the lady's skirt but wailed even harder. He knew he did something wrong and that he made his family worry about him.
"Kang Sola. You're being too harsh on the kid." Xue Guangxi followed behind, carrying a tiny girl the same age as the boy. The little girl giggled when she saw the crying boy. "Hihihi! There you are! Boo! Boo! Peekaboo!!" She giggled again. 
"Chen Lihua, you shouldn't laugh at your brother's crying face. This isn't a game of peekaboo!" Twenty-three-year old Xue Guangxi scolded the giggling girl in his arms. Soon enough, the girl felt bad at being scolded at and started crying, too.
"Uwaaahhh!!!!"
"Oh great, Guangxi! Just great! Both of them are crying now!"
"Hey, can you please exit the paging booth? I can't resume my work here with wailing kids around me!" The grumpy man in his mid-thirties shooed all the people around him.
The woman who found the boy commented curiously. "You must have had them young! Life must be hard, huh? You're both young to have kids!"
Kang Sola and Xue Guangxi exchanged timid looks and blushed. They always got that comment a lot. 
A. lot.
And every single time, every damn time, Xue Guangxi would play along, much to Kang Sola's dismay who would always attempt to correct the nosy bystanders. Before she could, Guangxi would already have played along.
"Ahh yes, it's the consequence of our tender love and impulsiveness. But kids are gifts from the heavens and we were gifted with two, so it's fine even if life's hard sometimes." He even tried to deliver his lines more dramatically as necessary.
"You're enjoying yourself quite tremendously, I see." Kang Sola would always comment when they were out of other people's earshot, always accompanied by such a defining furrow on her forehead.
Xue Guangxi would laugh hard. "HAHAHAHA!!!! Yes, tremendously! I get to play parenting with you! A silver lining in raising these kids!"
Kang Sola would sigh helplessly and let it go. "Enjoy it while it lasts, then."
"How long will you be staying in Beijing this time?" The lady in her early twenties asked the lanky, cheerful, young man.
"Two months tops. After that, when I return here, probably, for good, if I choose to settle here. I can choose wherever I would want to settle, you know."
"Good for you, then." The lady sighed again. "Then after two months, I would have to raise them all by myself! You'll get away from your responsibilities!" Towards the end of her statement, Kang Sola playfully increased the volume of her voice and acted like a suffering wife.
"Hey!" Xue Guangxi protested as onlookers threw disapproving looks at his direction. They could easily be misunderstood when they come in this group – a group of four with a pair of a good-looking young lady, a dazzling young man, and two toddlers who somewhat resemble them.
At twenty-three, Kang Sola had lost her pixie-cut pinkish purplish hair. Instead and in its place was a wavy waist-long hair on a half-top bun, and dyed balayage. She usually paired it with a choker accent regardless of what she wore. It looked more like a tattoo than a choker necklace. 
At twenty-three, Xue Guangxi had become quite fashionable with very neat suits paired with colorful tones and brave accents and tailored cuts, which one would not find too intimidating or intense but would make people draw their attention to him. His spiky hair was still there though.
It had been five years since the Chen twins were born. 
Originally, everyone was made to believe that the twins were both boys. However, when they finally came out, all were bewildered that it was a set of fraternal twins – a girl and a boy!
They named the boy Chen Lingtian and the girl Chen Lihua. Both were healthy and both showed advanced learning and development curves.
At two, both started to learn how to read and count. At three, both could understand the mechanics of games and play on their own. At four, both memorized the multiplication table, some poems, and smaller pieces of literature and recited it in front of the crowd composed of doting grandfathers, grandmothers, aunties, and uncles. 
At five, they were mesmerized by the universe, the formation of stars, and they've also memorized until the fourth row of the periodic table, with the understanding of its relation to stars. They also had the understanding of the initial formation of the earth, and its timeline, starting from way way back and touching the era of dinosaurs. 
That's why at five, their shared bedroom was decorated with myriads of glow-in-the-dark star wall stickers and lamps which showed constellations and nebulas at night before they sleep, and their toys were mostly dinosaurs whose names they knew by heart. They had wax figures of animals and they knew which kingdom they belong, and they had picture books of insects and sea creatures, and they also knew which phylum they belong. Learning became part of their play, and those two were the best playmates.

“I better go now. I’ll be fine on my own now.” She grinned again while fixing her hair, tucking it neatly under the cap and turning up the hood to cover half of her face. Her guise was complete. She knew that she would pass as a boy with her current look. So she uncaringly opened the door. With one last smile she thanked him again and left.
Just like that.
Chen Linyun’s peace and quiet has been perturbed.
‘Take responsibility, somehow.’ He said in his mind, to the girl who just left, eyes glimmering.
He gazed darkly at her fading silhouette but did not do anything anyway.

Chen Linyun had spend the night together in a dorm room with a drunken girl he had mistaken for a boy when he was still eighteen years old during his sophomore year in the university. Little did he know this short encounter will leave a mark in him, unable to let go of this woman who disappeared after that night. He was head-over-heels and had vowed to search for her in every part of the earth.

Five years later, they met again, but the woman he once knew wasn't the same as she was before. Just after a few years, she became a domineering leader of her own empire.

With his own charm, his adventure to chase the girl and convince her of his love starts in this story. 

It's a reverse role that the MC is a bit soft and domesticated but smart, while the FC is the strong-willed one - playful and teasing.

Chen Linyun stood up. “One more thing.” He grabbed her hand that was resting on the table. He gently guided it for her to stand up. She followed her lead and stood up, confused.
The next thing she knew, she was enveloped in his warm embrace. “I missed you.”
She blushed. She tried to push him away. 
His left hand was cradling the back of her head while his right hand secured her lower back. She was held tightly in his embrace.
“Just a little longer.”
She was helpless. “I’ll sue you for harassment.”
“You wouldn’t do that.” He finally released her and stared at her blushing face.
 “This time I won’t leave your side.”

Led by Professor Mo Xuan, Li Yao and Ling Xiaole were each given one immersive virtual cabin, after passing the dual tests of the federal army and the Secret Sword Agents.
Li Yao slowly sank into the thick, dense liquids.
The special 'nerval interaction liquids' contained tremendous man-made neuron elements. There were also a lot of brainwave feedback patches that could both stimulate all the nerve endings on a human body and connect a human brain to a crystal processor, or rather, connect the soul to the grand-unified Spiritual Nexus, through the special simulated brainwaves.
The main difference between advanced virtual cabins and low-level ones lay in the quality of the 'nerval interaction liquids'. What Professor Mo Xuan had adopted was apparently the most cutting-edge nerval interaction liquids that had only been developed in the federation recently. It could make someone dwell completely in the virtual world, the Spiriters' Realm.
Before he was fully consumed by the 'nerval interaction liquids', Li Yao glanced at the big shots in the rows of virtual cabins next to him, who were from the military, the Secret Sword Bureau, the government, and the various research institutions in the Hundred Flowers Space Zone.
They were all there to attend the launch ceremony of the 'Tinder Plan' tomorrow. At this moment, their souls were all visiting the Spiriters' Realm.
Looking at their bodies that were absolutely still as if they were in a deep sleep, Li Yao somehow felt creeped out.
Thankfully, Long Yangjun was still next to him offering protection.

There were also kids who were flying in the sky to their heart's content, as if they were carrying enormous kites. This was an illusionary world that did not need to abide by the laws of the reality after all. As long as one had enough computational ability and soul power, anything beautiful could happen.
"Most virtual worlds cannot be perfect simulations to reality, partly because the computational ability of the crystal processors is not enough for too many participants, partly because the remote communication across Sectors is too unstable, causing the high lag and inconsistency for the people in different worlds, and partly because perfect simulations of reality are too painful and very likely to lead to accidents. But most importantly of all, it is because of people's attitude."
Professor Mo Xuan's deep and passionate voice echoed behind Li Yao.
"Even if it is a perfect simulation of reality, if those who enter it only consider it a game and themselves players, how can they treat everything seriously?
"After all, everything is fake and can be rebuilt anytime. Even if they break the rules, they will not suffer any penalty greater than being kicked out of the game.
"When countless false attitudes overlap, they create a gigantic, weird, and false world. Therefore, it is not strange at all that the DLCs of 'Civilization' for regular players are called 'virtual worlds'.
"But this place is different. I assure you that the Spiriters' Realm is a home to the Spiriters. It is a place where we live carefully and will defend with our lives. This place has its own rules and laws. Even if I am its creator…"

Professor Mo Xuan, in a gray suit, was squatting on the ground. Narrowing his eyes, he touched the smooth, moist grass that scattered the ground. Suddenly, a sapling rose up from where he touched and grew up quickly in the wind into an apple tree more than three meters tall. Then, three heavy red apples dangled down from the tip of a branch, so round and succulent that the juice inside seemed as if it would explode at any moment.
Professor Mo Xuan picked the three red apples. He had one bite of the apple and chewed it while he threw the other two at Li Yao and Ling Xiaole. Moaning in great satisfaction, he finally finished the rest of his remark. "…I have to abide by the laws of this place, too. The best I can to is treat the honorable guests from afar with two apples."
Li Yao and Ling Xiaole looked each other and bit the two apples hard.
With cracking sounds, the juice rolled into their virtual throat, esophagus, and stomach like sugar that was mixed with a tempting sour flavor.
Li Yao's and Ling Xiaole's nerve endings all sent signals of joy to their brains.
"Do you feel…" Observing them without an expression, Professor Mo Xuan asked, "Was it real or virtual when you enjoyed the bite of apple just now?"
Li Yao pondered for a moment and replied, "You seem to be implying something, don't you, professor?"
Professor Mo Xuan smiled and shook his head. "No, nothing. Look. The town at the foot of the mountain is the home of 122 Spiriters and will very possibly be the last home of humanity in millions of years. The heads of the local garrison, a branch of the Secret Sword Bureau, government departments, and research institutes are right there. Do you want to go down and join them?"
"That will be unnecessary." Li Yao thought of something and said, "I am actually more interested in you, Professor Mo Xuan. Why don't we take a walk here and have a chitchat?"
"I can vouch for him!" Holding the giant apple, Ling Xiaole grimaced and said, "Special Representative Lin is indeed quite interested in you, Professor Mo Xuan, especially your 'virtual life project'. He asked me for a lot of files about the project!"
"That's right."

"With the development level of our crystal processors nowadays, to create a virtual life that is highly developed with intelligence and self-awareness and poses a threat to the civilization of mankind in the next hundred years is as difficult as giving you a handful of ancient fungi and a primitive planet and asking you to make the fungi evolve into dinosaurs in a thousand years. Is it even possible at all?"
Li Yao had given it a lot of thought previously. Therefore, he simply shook his head and said, "No. Professor, I don't think that your metaphor is correct. Ancient fungi are far too unevolved compared to dinosaurs in every respect. But it is not the relationship between crystal processors and human beings. Many crystal processors boast a computational ability hundreds if not thousands of times higher than that of a regular human being. How do you know for sure that a brand-new life will be born during the collision of data that is as vast as an ocean? It is even possible that such a life will boast tremendous destructive power the moment it is created.
"Think about it. If an ancient fungus evolves to a thousand meters in diameter and has an absorption ability and movement speed that are even more terrifying than dinosaurs, it will be natural for the dinosaurs to be frightened by them because of natural intuition, right?"
Professor Mo Xuan was slightly dazed. He looked at Li Yao thoughtfully and smiled from the bottom of his heart. "Very good. As expected of an expert from the Star Ocean Republic. You are smart enough to have thought so far. What you have in mind right now was exactly my motivation when I started the 'Virtual Spirits Sector' project decades ago.
"At that time, I thought exactly the same.      In the center of them all, Lynn and Colin met Oreb, and greeted each other with short bows (or deep nods, depending on how you looked at it). Surrounded by so many different shades and sizes of brown owls, Colin suddenly felt like he was in the middle of a library, of all things.
     "This is the new Forester." Lynn said. "He'll be here at least a week, I believe."
     "Hoo hoo… Hoo hoo hoo!" Oreb said.
     "Thanks for the welcome." Colin told him. "I'm looking forward to working with you as well."
     This caused a bit of stir among the younger Wood Owls, but Oreb nodded with a twinkle in his eye and hooted. "Hoo, hoo, hoo!"

     Oreb met Foxie next, and Eclipse. He was about to meet Kirin when Lynn nudged both him and Colin. "We should go back to the Forester's Hut. The Cougars might already be on the way."
     As they headed back, Colin asked, "Oreb, do you know of that camp near Floras, the one on this side of the river?"
     "Hoo hoo…" Oreb trailed off. "Ho."
     "Can you tell me of it?"
     Oreb hooted. Images came to Colin's mind. 
     {The laughter of men mix with the cries of those driven from their homes. The promise was broken with the screeching of iron beasts. Fifty nests were felled in a night.}
     "This is bad." Colin glanced at Lynn. "It sounds big."
     "Those idiots." Lynn growled. "We'll go there immediately after you meet the eight Lords."
     Lynn's hunch about the Tree Cougars proved right. They had moved the moment they heard of the new Forester. Colin barely arrived back at his outpost when cats started running in.
     "Mew." Raiki glanced up. Ardent raised his head.
     Lynn waited at the door of the Forester's hut with Colin and Oreb as a broad cat the size of a car and the color of dark chocolate. The three browns of his fur meshed in color so well, he looked almost made of wood, even though Colin could make out individual furs on his face.
     "Yachad." Lynn greeted him. "It's been a while, you old Rooty Cougar."
     "Kiao." Yachad greeted her.
     Yachad had brought a good number of other Tree Cougars; other Rooty Cougars, broad and sure-footed, Trunky Cougars, big heavy cats, Branchy Cougars, who could stand on hind legs and use their forepaws like hands, Twiggy Cougars, skinny and swift, and Leafy Cougars, like Ardent, smaller in body, but better at long-range attacks.
     Most of them were various shades of mixed browns also.
     "I'm surrounded by brown." Colin noted.
     "The Twig Lizards are here." Lynn pointed.
     Colin saw them. They weren't quite thin and skinny as he'd thought. In fact, some of them were quite fat. They came in different colors too, blue, green, yellow, red, orange, even a gray. Some of them ran on all fours. Some of them walked on two legs. 
     "They look more like dinosaurs than lizards." Colin noted.
     "Call them by name, Colin." Lynn told him.
     Their Lord was Lather, a green-white Cluster-Twig Lizard. Standing on two legs or four, he was still taller than Colin, about the same size as Yachad, the Lord of Wood Cougars. Like all his kind, Lather seemed to have twigs growing out of his body, though Colin felt they were more like antlers. Lather and the other Cluster-twig Lizards had twigs that sprouted many smaller branches in all directions. There were Split-twig Lizards and Fan-twig Lizards and a whole bunch of different twig types.
     The Feelo Wasps arrived next, the smallest of them being as big as melons. They were colored differently according to their types. Their queen (or Lord, or Lady or whatever) was as big as Colin, a Rainbow Feelo Wasp named Prisme.
     The Bristle Boars had different kinds according to their bristles, whether they were Wood Bristles, Bronze Bristles, Iron Bristles, Steel Bristles, Silver Bristles or Golden Bristles like Rustle, the bus-sized Lord of Bristle Boars. 
     "He's big." Colin noted, seeing the big shiny Wild.
     "Not as big as Deeproot." Lynn pointed. "The Oakin are here."
     The Oakin were big walking trees. Deeproot, the Lord of the Oakin, was a Thunder Oakin, with tints of blue mixed in the brown of his wood and the green of his leaves. There were Splashy Oakin, and Creaky Oakin, and Rumbly Oakin, among others.
     Most of the Oakin were taller than Colin's hut and as wide as cars, but there was this rather odd small Oakin, although it was really still quite big. This one was pink with yellow polkadots and stood as tall as the hut itself. 
     "What kind of Oakin is that?" Colin blinked.
     Lynn laughed. "That's not an Oakin. Hello, Kyubia."
     With a puff of smoke, the Oakin revealed herself as a grinning black fox still as tall as Colin's hut, with a white streak running down her back, and nine tails in neat formation at her back.
     "Arf!" Foxie jumped and turned herself into a Oakin also, yellow with blue stripes, although she looked really queer in that size.
     All the {real} Oakin, Colin realized, were steady brown with tinted colors according to their kind. {Okay, I get it. Any off-colored small Oakin I see are probably Streak Foxes in disguise.}
     Kyubia hadn't come alone, Colin found. With more and more puffs of smoke, other off-colored Cougars and Boars and even an over-large Wasp showed themselves as mischievous Streak Foxes. There were three colors of Streaks, white, gray, and black, and it seemed, no end to the color of the Streak Foxes' fur.
     {They can probably change the color of their fur any time they want… Colin realized. The only way to know what kind they are is to follow the color of their streaks.}
     But Kyubia herself, nine-tailed and looking very stylish in black, had a streak that seemed to shimmer silver.
     "Starstreak Fox." Lynn said, by way of explanation. "Foxie's a Whitestreak, isn't she? One day, if you raise her well, she might just become a Starstreak."
     "Oh." Colin darted a glance at Foxie.
     Foxie was looking rather enviously at Kyubia. "Arf."
     Kyubia smiled back.
     Finally, there were the Crested Falcons. Green-crested, Red, or Blue were medium brown in feather with crests on their necks, but White-crested Falcons were such a dark brown of feather, they looked almost black. The biggest of these White-crested Falcons was Sharpeye, who was as big as Kyubia.
     "Welcome, all." Lynn said. "I bring you the new Forester."
     Colin gave them respectful nods. "Hi."
     "We haven't much time." Lynn added. "There's a certain logging camp on this side of the river that's really not supposed to be there. We're going to remove it."
     Hoots, barks, creaks and other sounds of approval echoed through the West Lamico Forest.
     "Gather your clans." Lynn said. "We go to war."
     {War again…?} Colin groaned. "Can we not do war? The entire continent's already so messed up with war! Why do we need more fighting?"
     "Why?" Lynn gave him a sharp look. "Why do you think we're going to destroy that camp, Colin?"
     "Because they didn't ask permission to put it there?" Colin scratched his head.
     "Because they broke their promise, Colin." Lynn said. "Because of betrayal."
     Colin sighed. "Great. So, what's the plan?"
     "Attack from all sides. Smash everything." Lynn said. 
     "No battle formations, no sequence of who goes where?" Colin questioned.
     "No need." Lynn said.
     "Hoo, hoo." Oreb warned.
     "Really?" Lynn sounded surprised. "They've never posted guards or anything before."
     "Hoo…" Oreb shrugged. He didn't know why either.
     "It's the war. The human war." Colin explained. "The Union's worried about attacks from the Protectorate. They've been attacking the Protectorate's logging camps, and expect the same from them."
     "I see." Lynn frowned. "Kyubia?"
     "Raf!" Kyubia grinned. 
     "Wait… just wait." Colin held up one hand. "Let me talk to them."
     Lynn thought about it for a while, then nodded. "Fine. 
     "You have one hour."
