You are the main character for this story. After an airplane crash during a big school trip, you and your classmates are stranded on a hazardous island. However, the island that they are stranded in, is inhabited by resurrected dinosaurs. You must do whatever it takes to save your classmates from surviving until rescue comes.

I hated my first day of kindergarten. I was wearing what my mom thought was the definition of kindergarten chic...a white dress with neon blue bows at the hemline, which only went to my knees. 

I wanted to wear my usual jeans and a t-shirt with a pun phrase on the cover which back then I only saw as colorful designs. But no, instead my mom got me a whole new wardrobe of frilly dresses and glitzy accessories.

Needless to say, I wasn't happy. I was even unhappier when my mom kissed me goodbye after dropping me off. I didn't care who saw...I wailed. The kindergarten teacher looked distraught as the tears kept on coming. I remember her saying things like, 'We're going to have so much fun!' or 'Do you want to color!' Nothing helped until my mom got down on one knee and pulled me in for a hug.

She whispered, "Don't cry, baby. You look beautiful and you're going to make some amazing friends here." After she broke from the hug, she held my hands in hers. "Who's my fierce firecracker?"

"Me?" I answered weakly. 

"That's right!" she answered enthusiastically before waving good-bye to me again.

Before I could start crying again, my kindergarten teacher placed a box of crayons in my hands and steered me to a table filled with other little girls. There was only one seat left. I sat down and said, "Hello!" 

"Hi cryer" said the most beautiful girl I ever saw. With grey blue eyes and sun kissed blonde hair. 

"My name is Kat," I replied. "I'm not gonna cry anymore."

Another girl at the table with frizzy Brown hair and a smattering of freckles said, "Good, but you should find another table to sit at." I was about to ask her why when she said, "My momma said I'm not supposed to talk with black people."

"I'm not black. I'm American," I answered with unwavering confidence. "My mom isn't from America. She's from Columbus." Back then I didn't know how to say Colombia. Or, my whole first name for that matter.

The girl with frizzy Brown hair said, "Well whatever your name is, get away from us."

I didn't know how to react. I was shocked but still in my seat. Till a boy that was playing with dinosaurs ran too close to our table and knocked me off of my chair. "Watch it!" he yelled at me as he picked up the plastic dinosaurs from the floor.

"I'm sorry," I replied as I handed him a dinosaur. He didn't grab the one I was holding.

"Hmm?" I asked as I waved the plastic dinosaur I was still holding in front of him. He took a step away from me in disgust. "You can keep it. I don't want to catch your cooties."

"What's that?"

"An illness girls can give to boys by touch. It's deadly." That's when I noticed the girls and boys sat separately from each other. So, I knew whatever this boy just told me must be true. 

Which is why I ran to my cubby to look for the thin gloves my mom got me. They were unnecessary in the state of Arizona but my mom still insisted on thin gloves and a sweater just in case. I slipped on my gloves and held the dinosaur once more as I ran to the boy who was so informed about the cooties. 

He was talking with another boy who asked him if he could play with the dinosaurs too. The boy with all of the plastic dinosaurs shook his head. "I don't need you. I'm fine on my own. Now git!"

"Um, hello," I said as I handed the dinosaur to the boy who claimed all of the plastic dinosaurs in our kindergarten class as his. "Here you go." I again, held out the plastic dinosaur with my gloved hands.

The boy looked at my hands cautiously. "You sure that will be enough not to spread the cooties?"

"I think so," I replied. It was good enough for him as he snatched the dinosaur away. 

I was going towards the table with the girls again, when I noticed another girl was in my seat, coloring from the book I was just coloring in. "Aren't you going to go back to your friends?" dinosaur boy asked me. 

"I don't know," I replied. Then, I had an amazing idea. I was going to ask dinosaur boy my question since he seemed more informed about the world than me. "I have a question."

"Shoot." he replied as he sat on the floor and started arranging the plastic dinosaurs in a certain way. Then, he looked up at me from his project. "That means go 'head and ask."

"Do I look black to you?"

He pondered this for a moment before doling out his professional opinion. "No. You look tan. Who said you looked black?"

I pointed at the table where I was sitting. "One of them said she could not talk with me because I'm black." 

"Really....remember who?" he asked me as he arranged his dinosaurs seemingly disinterested in our conversation. 

"That one with frizzy Brown hair," I replied as I gestured a hand to the table again.

"Follow me," he said as he stood up from his dinosaur project. Before he moved completely away he cupped his hands in front of his mouth as he hollered, "I still have dibs on the dinos!!!!!"

I followed him as he made a beeline towards the teacher...until he stopped. He turned to me to say, "Looks like our teacher is still busy. Let's go find the Prince." Our teacher was very busy trying to reassure some clingy-looking parents. He grabbed my hand that still had gloves on them and pulled open the classroom door. Our teacher didn't even notice our departure.

"Is it alright to leave?"

"Sure it is," he replied with a flippant wave of his free hand. "In pre-school I left the room all of the time! Now, where would the Prince's office be?"

"You don't know?" I asked with shock.

As another adult walked down the hall he whispered, "Just let me do the talking." 

I nodded in understanding as I let dinosaur boy handle this situation...whatever it was. He smiled as he asked a lady teacher (who turned out to be a sub) of another class, "Hello! We're looking for the Prince's office."

She raised her eyebrows for a moment until realization dawned on her face. "Oh. You mean the Principal's office? Let me show you, honey."


Without complaint or questions, we were led to the Principal's office. The sub teacher told the Principal he had some visitors and we both entered his office after that.

This principal with blue black skin and a wearer of cartoon neckties would come to know us both throughout our elementary education: for good and bad reasons. "Hello, how can I help you?" he asked us.

"This girl named..." he looked at me questioningly.

"Kat."

"This girl named Kat spoke with a girl who told her she can't speak with black people when Kat is clearly tan. Right?"

"Yes," I replied. 

The Principal raised both of his eyebrows as he looked at me and asked, "Do you remember who told you this?"

"I don't know her name, but..."

"She's the only girl in our class with sticky-outy Brown hair. I can point her out if you need me to!"

"I'm sure that won't be necessary, Mister...?"

"My name's Kit, sir."

"Well, let's go find your classroom." That day the girl with frizzy Brown hair left school earlier than the rest of us. Her parents weren't happy to see her. Even though there was an empty seat at the table I sat at before, I didn't take it. 

Instead, I sat down on the ground next to Kit as he was playing with his dinosaurs, and he even let me name a few of them. He had sun kissed blonde hair just like the girl with blue grey eyes. Except, his eyes were a piercing dark brown that looked into your soul.

He was the only friend I made that day. His turned out to be the only friendship that mattered.

About two friends who meet in a surprising way as well as dealing with societal boundaries in their own way. It's the first part of the story. There's currently 33 parts of 'Kit and Kat'.

Tiana looked down at the crayons and picked one up. "Pretty color!" She finally sat down and opened the book and found a page that was not colored and started scribbling on the page.
Kitty, Cindy, and Luke finished eating and Cindy stood up, "I will go and pull the car out front. Since Kitty and Luke are the ones that Tiana is used to then you guys will have to stay in the back. I do not want Tiana to be frightened the entire trip." She took off and got ready to go.
Luke reached his hands out to take Tiana from Sylvie. "Come let's get ready to go out."
Tiana looked at her picture and then showed it to Luke. "So pretty. Thank you for letting me color in your book."
Kitty looked at the coloring and smiles, "You did a good job, Tiana. I am proud of you. I am going to make a quick phone call and then meet you outside." She got up and went upstairs to her bedroom. She dialed Leo's number. 
Leo looked at the caller while waiting for Ketan. "Love, how are you doing?" 
"I am doing alright now. I wanted to give you a heads up that I decided that we need to go into town so we are getting ready to leave. Tiana needs clothes and a few toys to play with. So I thought that you would like to know that I am heading into town. We are going to eat lunch at the Cafe and then come home." Kitty pulled out a hat and placed it on her head while smiling.
"Ahhhh, yes. I think that it is a good idea to get that done while you can. She is little right now and one day she will not remember that this even happened to her but in the meantime, we will work hard to help her as much as possible. I get the feeling that we just adopted another child before ours is even born. Anyways, do not worry about how much you spend and get whatever you need for her. I may be later than I planned due to the first house having so much in it." Leo looked around and sighed. 
"Rough day so far, Darling? I am sure that you will get it all done and if you are late, do not worry there is more than enough protection here. I will be safe." Kitty adjusts the hat and makes sure her tail is hidden by using some magic.
"I am relieved to hear you say that. Go have fun shopping and I will see you soon." Leo smiles and then hangs up his phone.
Kitty looked down at her phone and chucked. 'Worrywart.' She walked downstairs and walked up to the group at the door. "Why are we all standing around here for? Let's head on out." Kitty was carrying a small purse and smiled.
Tiana ran up to Kitty's and hugged her legs and then grabbed her hand and started pulling her towards the door. "Am I able to get a dolly?"
"If you find one that you like I will buy it for you." Kitty walked to the door sat down, then proceeded to put on her shoes. 
Luke chuckled and walked up behind the two. "Leo must have said that you could buy some things for Tiana. I will help choose some things for her and if it is alright with you I would like to pick up some picture books. It would be useful to start reading to her and maybe teaching her so that she can go to school. I am not a normal human but I think she needs to go to a proper school. "
"Leo granted me to get whatever might be needed but I think that it would be a wise idea to teach her all that we can and then send her to school. Let's also get a chalkboard so that we can teach her how to print. I was thinking since she is going to be living with us we should get her an identity so that she can go to school. I think Leo will be able to get that sorted out for us." Kitty finished getting her shoes on and took Tiana's hand.
"A new dolly all for, Tiana!! I hope she will be pretty." Tiana skipped happily to the car. 
Luke held onto Tiana's other hand and lead her to the car. "OH! Is it going to be okay for her to sit in the car? We do not have a booster seat and she is so small."
"We are going to hold her in place and we will not get into an accident and we will pick one out right away so that we will not get into trouble with the cops but I think that Leo's vehicles are registered and we should be okay if we bend them just a little bit. I will not allow harm to come to this little girl." Kitty opened the door and let go of Tiana's hand.
Tiana struggled to climb in so Luke lifted her on the seat. She frowned when she couldn't see out the window. "Can't see."
Kitty walked to the other side and go in. "Do not worry on our way home you will be able to see. It is a bit of a long drive but remember we will get you new toys and clothes."
Luke did up Tiana's seatbelt and then got in. He placed the bag he brought with him on the floor and opened it up. "I brought the coloring book so you can color a bit on the travel table." He set up the table and placed the coloring book on top. 
Cindy was already in the driver's seat, "I chose the same car I have already driven but we may need to acquire a van if we are going to be taking long outings or big shopping trips."

The next morning was rough. I had stayed up past my bed time and built my dinosaur completely. I then drew a picture of the bullies and looked at my creation with sad eyes. 

"I wish you were real. Then I would ask you to eat them." 

I put my picture down and went to bed. I walked down the stairs at a sluggish pace not wanting to go back to school. My mom had a concerned look on her face when I walked into the kitchen. 

"Are you alright? You look exhausted," she exclaimed. 

"I'm ok. Just really tired is all," I muttered. "Do I have to go to school today?"

"Yes Daniel, you have to go to school today."

I knew she would say yes but I had to give it a shot. As I ate my breakfast, my dad walks in and gives his usual "Hi, Bye." routine and is out the door. I followed behind to wait at the bus stop. When the bus arrived my friend was sitting in our usual spot, and I headed over. Brandon looked at me weird and asked, "Did you even sleep?" 

"I did, but it doesn't feel like it," I replied. "I had a really weird dream last night. I dreamt that my dinosaur came to life and ate one of the bullies. Then I woke up very tired."

"Well, dinosaurs can't come off the pages and eat people thank goodness," says Brandon matter of factly. 

" I built him. He is now a lego creation. He stands as tall as me!" I told him.

Brandons mouth dropped agape, as he started rambling off questions. I answered them all and it lasted until the bus got to school. From there I spotted the bullies, one of them wasn't here today. They were so caught up in conversation that I was able to sneak by with ease. I got to my locked and put my papers away, and grabbed my books. First class was about to start. I made it just in time. 

Mrs. Rook is a good teacher. I like her; she is the only teacher who will try to help me.

"Class? I have an important announcement. One of our students is out today so I want no discussion or rumors about what may or may not have happened going around in my room. Now turn to page 72 in your text book."

And with that, the day began. I wasn't so fortunate the rest of the day. Because the one bully member was absent, the other two were trying to make up for lost muscle. I got dunked this time and thrown into a trash can. The principal and the teachers couldn't help me. They kept saying something along the lines of, "Stick up for yourself." or "Fight back." First off I cant fight back. I dont know how and even of i did, I know I would be the one getting in trouble not them. Its the same as all the other stories you hear. "Kid sticks up for himself, suspended due to fight on school property." I dont need that kind of look on me.
 Second off, even when I told my parents the first time they couldn't do anything but talk to the teachers and principal as well. You know what they said? "Boys will boys." or "It'll toughen him up"

When I got home, I finished my homework and made little adjustments to my dinosaur. When it was time for bed, my mom came in and kissed me good night and went to bed herself. That night I had the weirdest dream.

Holding her mother's index finger, little Alana trotted on the stone covered path of her new and first school - Mc Lauren's kindergarten.

Taking in her surroundings she took in everything that her little eyes could. Small children playing with each other merrily and all she wanted to do was be a part of their games.

"There now we have reached dear", her mother reminded her once they were standing in front of the cute little building. 

"Friends", Alana said pointing to the group of children playing. Her mother sighed seeing the little vampire children play.

Life in Craestiria wasn't easy as it seemed to be when it came to the human population. Although the vampire King and Queen were understanding for the humans, majority of the vampires still had the belief intact that humans were to be used as only pets and slaves. 

More precisely blood bags.

But truth be told these animalistic things happened years ago. It had been a decade since all these things had came to a minimum. 

"Dear you will make friends soon. They aren't your friends", Mrs. Haze said cautiously. But she felt bad when she couldn't answer her daughter's questions of why she couldn't be friends with the playing children.

In all honesty she was very afraid of the vampires herself. A circumstance in her childhood made her fear the vampires to no bounds.

Alana was so young that the child couldn't tell the difference between a vampire and a human. And Mrs. Haze, being  a young mother couldn't find an appropriate reason to tell the difference to her daughter yet. 

Waving her goodbyes to her mother Alana went inside. On her way she found many children crying and whimpering, not leaving their parent's hand. She wondered why they weren't happy to come to school.

All the schools of every town had both humans and vampires studying together to avoid the rift of supremacy in future. Since the passing of the law that Slavery among humans was to be discouraged, the rulers made sure every school and institution abided by the law so that the young minds could be moulded to envisage the equality.

"Here little one, you have to assemble here", Alana turned to see a woman who was a fellow teacher usher her to the group of children. 

Soon she was in one of the cute little classrooms, stuff toys, Lego toys lying everywhere around small tables and chairs.

Everyone was given a coloring page which had an ice cream drawn on it. Alana busied herself in the work, not bothering children around her who were making small talks.

"Lion has sharp teeth."
"No a vampy has sharp teeth."
"Vampy is able to drink only blood but lion can eat everyone."
Alana who was well taught in her home by her mother before joining the kindergarten thought which animal was a vampy. 
'I will ask mamma today who is this vampy animal", she thought to herself.

While children blandly coloured the ice cream softy, Alana decorated by adding chocolate lentils with different colors. She even gave shades of brown on the yellow ice cream cone.

Smiling at her colour page and after staring at it for a long time she went to the teacher.
"Ms. Jelly I have done it", she said in her childish voice.
"Its Ms. Julie dear", the teacher said smiling sweetly at the small kid. Though she was a vampiress, she didn't mind the human child calling her that.

Raising the page, she showed it to everyone, "See this kids. Alana here had done it so beautifully. Everyone give a clap for her."

And so the children clapped while little Alana smiled sweetly. 

"Its not done like this Brendon", the teacher said as she roamed the class looking how everyone was doing.
"Alana dear can you help him please ?", she asked to which the child diligently obliged. 

She seated herself beside the little boy, spreading her coloring page in front of them.
"Don't take the color out of line", she said quietly taking the eraser and rubbing it on the boy's page.

"It is yummy. I want to eat it", the boy said holding Alana's page to which she sent a fake glare.

"We don't eat paper silly, we eat blood", Alana turned back to see another boy frowning at her colour page.
He looked no less than a grumpy cat.

The boy, who was huge compared to her had warily scribbled only red colour on his entire page. "This is bad", he said and suddenly snatched the page from the boy she was helping and tore her page into two.

The sunset is an interesting thing. Sometimes it's bold, exciting, and you would walk to the end of the block even if your block is a mile long and it's almost below freezing. You would walk, just to see it. Sometimes, the clouds get in the way, creating pink stripes across the sky, fading slowly into a dull grey, then blue, then black. And sometimes, it sits in the sky, subtle, and waits for you to notice how incredible even the smallest sunset is. And then, of course, there's the time when your boss thinks it's so interesting that he makes you write a fifteen-page essay all about it so that the interns at your office understand the concept of the light, bending off clouds. The first three sunsets were certainly Alicia's favorite.

Alicia sat in the freezing lounge chairs on her porch. She stared up at the sky, making a small sketch of the clouds, grumbling internally. Why can't the interns just do this themselves? They went to school, they should know how sunsets work. She finished the last details on the mountain, then went inside to grab her Prismacolors. Dark purple, light cerulean, glossy black, coral pink... she rustled out the note from her parents again, smiling as she recited the words. She slipped it away.
     Standing up, the floor creaked, old hardwood bending and straining to maintain next to the polished new boards. Alicia let it creak under her slippers as she padded over to her bedroom, turning on her bedlight.
     Alicia crawled into bed, making sure her throw blanket was the one on top of her, as it was the most comfortable. She leaned over, the bed screeching its disapproval, and grabbed an extra three pillows. She tucked them in separate places around her, then took out her computer and started typing the essay. She could finish coloring in the morning. She finished the last page, then scrolled through Instagram, Facebook... and fell asleep staring at a picture of an Aroura Borealis.

The blonde haired woman stood in front of the students, not far from where I was standing with a large smile on her face, although it was clearly fake. She looked like she didn't want to be here at all.
She clapped her hands and began to speak to the class.
"Okay class, today we have a new student. Everyone give a warm welcome to Elijah Lutz."
I waved. "Nice to meet you all. I hope we can have a nice year together."
To my surprise the class erupted with chatter. Guys talking enviously about how they need to watch out for me and girls giggling and gossiping about me. A few girls were even arguing over who was allowed to talk to me. I guess Esther was right. This place is a lot easier and people are definitely more feeble minded.
The teacher, whose name I didn't bother remembering, clapped her hands again to shut the class up. I thought it would be a worthless attempt but it was a surprisingly effective method.
"Quiet down everyone."
She scanned over the class for a second and then pointed at an empty desk, right near the window. "Let's see...you can sit right there Elijah."
Window seat, Huh? Well if that isn't the most overused cliché. Well whatever, guess it means I get to be the main character.
I sat down in the seat and let down by red and black backpack. I looked outside of the window to see the courtyard where the athletic events most likely happen, although it was empty now for obvious reasons.
"Since you don't have your books yet you can share a book with a person near you. Don't be afraid to ask one of your neighbors for help."
And with that she turned to the board behind her and started furiously writing on the chalkboard.
I looked to the right of me to see an extremely built guy, the likes of who couldn't possibly be a high school freshman. He had shaven black hair, small eyes, and a large ears. He wore a red and black jersey with the BULLS 23 on it and matching black shorts on it. He was lifting a dumbbell with one arm and flipping the pages of a sports magazine with the other.
Nope, I thought. Not dealing with it.
Then I looked behind me to see a very colorful girl sitting behind me. She had an ombré hair color pattern that started out sunset orange that evolved into a pinkish red into a galaxy purple. Her long hair was extremely sparkly and included star shaped hair clips of different colors. Her eyes were a mix of starry purple and blue but what I found weird was she didn't have regular pupils. Her pupils were yellow and shaped just like stars.
She appeared to be busy coloring a page, which I thought wasn't too weird, until I saw her art. It looked more like she printed an image off of the internet than a drawing. She was coloring in the galaxy and hundreds of stars on her paper only using three markers using a perfect mix of purple, blue, and black.
...Let's try one more, I thought.
I turned around and tapped the back of the guy in front of me.
Please be normal, I thought. Please be normal.
The guy turned around with a confused look on his face. In comparison to the other two he looked surprisingly normal. He had neat blue hair and a navy blue t-shirt. He looked like he was wearing blue jeans but I couldn't tell his shoes from under his seat, not that it really mattered.
"Yo new kid, what'd you need?"
"Hey, by chance, could you share your book with me?"
He studied me for a second but it didn't look like he was looking at me. Rather, it looked like he was looking through me. He looked back to his book, as if he had a tough decision to make. Then he shrugged.
"Sure man, you can take it. I don't really need it."
He grabbed the book and plopped it on my desk.
I really don't trust this guy, I thought. He just gave me a bad vibe. But he gave me his book, so I guess I should at least be appreciative.
I smiled. "Ah, thank you."
"No problem, just tell me if you have any questions." He raised his out hand to shake. "I'm Mark."
I clasped his hand. "Nice to meet you."
"Likewise."
Before he turned around, he leaned in and started whispering.
"By the way, be careful of that girl behind you. She's really weird."
"Noted."
And with that he turned around.
I didn't need your help to figure that out though. To be honest, I don't even think she's worth messing with. It's best I just leave her in her own little world.
I looked down at the book to see it say: Algebra 1. Oh it's math class. How boring. At least give me a more challenging level.
I didn't really pay very much attention throughout the class period. The teacher called on me twice, and I met her question with the right answer each time, much to the amazement of my classmates. At the end of the hour, the bell rung for lunch. But rather than leave for lunch, my classmates swarmed my desk. At least ten people surrounded me, the majority being girls. They began bombarding me with questions.
"Hey, hey, where are you from?" one girl asked.
"Does everyone have white hair and sparkling blue eyes like you where you lived?" Another girl asked.
"Can I touch your hair?" A guy asked.
All the girls paused and looked at the guy with clear disgust in their eyes.
"Ahah, never mind," he said as he backed away and ran out the classroom.
Then the girls resumed their barrage of questions.
"Do you like sports?"
"Do you like anime?"
"Are you single?"
"Do you date blondes?"
Eventually they stopped asking questions and waited for a response. I thought about all their questions for a second before answering, to make sure I wasn't rude and accidentally skipped over one of them. I had to remain likable.
"Classified, no, no, I prefer manga but yes, yes, and no."
I could hear a few disappointed groans and a few celebration yelps from the army of girls that surrounded me.
"He won't tell me where he's from. I was right. He's definitely the mysterious type."
"He watches anime and reads manga? He's definitely a catch."
This is going to be a very easy year if these are my classmates, I thought.
"Hmm, What about, what type of magic can you create? If you go to this school, then you must have magic."
I smiled at them. "My magic's not that impressive. I'm a rune mage," I said.
"Oh, is that all," the girl with long purple hair responded. "Well it's certainly rare but not really that special. Ah, I didn't mean to insult you or anything."
"It's fine. You're completely right," I said. "It's nothing special."
After a few more questions, the crowd dispersed after realizing they wasted half their lunch time trying to play 21 questions with me. With that only a few people were still in the room, one being the sparkly girl sitting behind me, and she seemed to pay no mind to the large crowd that was just here.
My stomach growled.
Of course I'm hungry, I thought. Maybe I'll just leave campus and get food somewhere near here.
I got up and started walking out the room. That is until I was walking out the doorway and a voice stopped me in my tracks.
"By the way, new student, the campus has a policy that students aren't allowed to leave the grounds during lunchtime."
I looked back to see a girl with black hair that was tied into a ponytail and hazel eyes that lacked any care. She had on a white blouse and a blue skirt. She had in earbuds and was staring intently at her iPod.
Di-did she just read my mind? Certainly with magic anything is possible but mind reading should be just as rare as rune magic.
"Huh, how'd you know I was going off campus?"
"I didn't. I heard your stomach growl and wanted to remind you of the school's policy," she answered, not looking up from her iPod. "However, It seems like I was right to do so."
That's impossible, I thought. Her hearing my stomach growl from across the room is hard enough to believe, but she has in headphones as well? It had to be magic of some sort. Sensory magic maybe? Whatever the case is, I need to be careful of her.
"I guess you're right. Well in that case can you tell me where the cafeteria is? I don't really know my way around here yet."
"You're better off asking someone else. I can't help you."
"What do you mean? You know where it is don't you?"
"I can't help you," she repeated, still staring at her iPod.
"Sigh, well thank you I guess. I'll try to ask someone else for help."
Well she's a dick, I thought. I'll just see if someone else knows where it is.
I scanned the barren classroom for others that might be able to help me. Sparkle girl seemed to be finished coloring and was now raising up and admiring her art. Best to leave her alone.
There was a quiet girl with glasses reading a book in back of the classroom. Her eyes were brown like her hair and she had a side bun with a brown scrunchie. She had on a faded orange turtleneck and light blue jeans.
I wanted to go ask her but she exuded pure anti-social aura the closer I got to her. She definitely wasn't an option.
The last person in the room was a boy with blue hair in the corner muttering to himself. He kept mentioning how losing isn't an option and how he needs to remain strong to not let out the demon within. Clearly, he's been watching too much anime.
This sucks, I thought. I'm in a room full of weirdos. I almost miss the girls from earlier. At least they were capable of conversation. Screw this, I'll just find the cafeteria myself. If I'm lucky, I'll find a teacher I can ask for directions.
I left the classroom and turned left in. the hallway. On my right were large windows showing the entrance of the school. On the left were many doors for classrooms, most of which were open due to lunch period. On the blue walls between the classroom doors were fliers for various clubs at the school. None of them really caught my attention but it was interesting just how many of them there were.
As I walked down the hallway, I noticed two guys standing in my way. I tried to walk to the left and they mirrored me. I tried moving to the right and again they copied me.
"Hey you're the new kid right?" The one on the left said. He was pretty big but not exactly intimidating.
Can someone at least learn my name?
I raised my hand out to shake. "Yeah, my name is Elijah. Nice to meet you."
The one on the right slapped my hand out of the way and grinned. He was a lot bulkier then his chubby companion and at least five times more intimidating, but it didn't take me much analyzation to realize he was the stereotypical dumb as a bag of bricks bully.
Esther wouldn't want me to get into a fight on my first day, I thought. I should probably find a way to talk myself out of this.
Both of them held out their hands. "You should know the deal," the one on the right said. "Lunch money, now."
"I would but I had a friend of mine hold my wallet. If you could show me where the cafeteria is I can certainly give you your money."
The chubby one whispered something into his friend's ears and the bulky one nodded.
"Hah, sure thing. Anything for a free dolla."
They definitely think I'm just an idiot. That's probably what his friend whispered to him.
They turned around and began walking and I followed. They occasionally looked back to make sure I wasn't running away. This went on for a minute until the fat one turned around.
"Wait a minute," he said. "You're new. You don't have any friends here."
Hearing this, the brute turned around and got into a fighting stance. It seems words no longer worked on him.
I reached into my right pocket and grabbed slice of gum. I unwrapped it and pressed it with both fingers before tossing it into my mouth and chewing. I stuffed the wrapper back into my pocket. 
Plan B I guess.
The buff bully was charging up a punch. Based on how slow he was, it should be pretty easy to dodge. Or at least that's what I thought until the punch was centimeters from my face.
I zoomed past both of them like a gust of wind and stopped once I felt I gained enough distance. The fliers taped to the walls scattered all over the floors and a large gust of wind hit me from behind. I immediately spit out the gum. But before it hit the ground, The gum zoomed away at high speeds, never to be seen again.
Well that was closer than I'd hope. It's strange how much distance he closed in the time I blinked. It's doubtful an oaf him has time manipulation and if he did it wouldn't make sense for him to use it for so short of a time. Well, it's not something I should have to worry about.
Right as I thought that, the two magically appeared in front of me.
"Eh?" I said.
"You were marked by Tenga," the chubby one snorted.
Marked? I don't remember any sort of markin-
Then I remembered the oaf slapping my hand during our first exchange.
Of course he did. This is stupid. I just want to eat. Maybe that's a good enough excuse to tell Esther after getting sent to the principal's office. Yeah, no, she'll probably still be angry with me. It's fine I have a contingency plan.
I gripped the gum wrapper in my pocket between two fingers and pressed on it. Then I took my hand out of my pocket and stood there, waiting.
The brawny giant once again charged up his fist and the chubby one got in a funny position where it looked like he was about to snap his fingers. Suddenly, they stopped and darted past me.
"Wait get back here," they both yelled.
I put my hands behind my head and yawned. Well that was easy, I thought. Maybe I should've just done that the first time.
I felt the silver wrapper in my pocket disappear.
I started walking forward until I saw two figures appear in front of me again.
I groaned. That mark isn't a one time use. I guess I'll just bite the bullet and suffer the consequences later.
"Stop messing with us," the fat one said. "Just take your beating like man."
"I'd like to not fight if possible," I said.
"Of course, cuz you're a wuss," Tenga said. "Only scaredy cats run from danger."
I sighed. Can't say I didn't try.
I thought they'd foolishly repeat the same strategy as last time, but this time Tenga charged at me. I looked towards the chubby one on the side, who was in position to snap his fingers. If my assumption is right, he can turn off a person's consciousness for around a second by snapping his fingers. If that's true, dealing with him takes priority.
I grabbed another slice of gum and popped it in my mouth. I sped past the brute and clocked the fatty in his neck. I spit out the gum and grasped the empty wrapper. I continued pummeling him until I felt the ground shake. I looked behind me to see the brute had jumped from his original spot and was winding up a punch near my direction. I created a barrier behind me and turned back to my original target. I punched him in his jaw and he finally fell to the ground and collapsed.
Just as he fell, I felt my barrier crack. I turned around to see the brute wailing on my barrier, ultimately breaking it like a mirror.
"Well aren't you persistent?" I asked.
I threw a third piece of gum in my mouth and just as I did the brute threw a haymaker. I dodged it and tapped his shoulder.
"See ya later big guy."
I turned away from him and started walking towards the cafeteria. In the corner of my eye I could see him try to move but was unable to. I could hear him yelling threats and swearing at me in the distance.
"Yea, yea, eat a brick why don't you?"
I spit out my gum and just as I did a small storm cloud appeared above it and jolted it with a lightning.
Huh, so that's its downside. I definitely shouldn't forget to spit it out.
Now that that's out of the way, I can finally eat. At least that's what I thought would happen. As I kept walking the bell rung, letting me know my opportunity to get food was gone. Furthermore, a hand appeared on my shoulder from behind me.
"Mr. Lutz, I need to see you in the principal's office."

Elijah never wanted any of this. A school full of weirdos, egotistical magic users roaming the streets, and fights that create nothing but chaos. At least it isn't his problem right? If only...

After I finish changing my mom introduces me to the little girl aka Willow and her mom Ms.Steel, I sit with them and get to know more about them she lost her husband in the army and has been a widow ever since. Willow is an adorable little girl she is six years old and knows how to hold a conversation, even when I talk about things a little difficult for her she still tries to follow along and add her own thoughts. When it is time for our moms to leave Willow and I sit down to some food left by my mom, after dinner she ask to play twenty questions to get to know me.

"Do you have a girlfriend." She ask through her hands giggling, her question has me thinking about Lenny and Eve but ignore them for now to answer her.

"Nope, I focus on school I don't have time to date... and that makes twenty questions so why don't you sit down and play with your toys why I do homework." Not needing to be asked twice she hops over and starts playing with her toys and coloring books.  Right when I am bout to finish my last science book I get a string of messages from Lenny and Eve, they were strangely quite all day I wonder what's so important that they are texting now.

Me: what is it?!?!?!?

MyPrincessEve: we finally beat those guys on Smash Bros. You know the ones we spent so much time playing the other day.

NessL: we were so in the zone it came down to sudden death and Eve knocked them both out.

MyPrincessEve: it was so epic I'm mad we didn't get to film it. Btw how is babysitting going we haven't heard from you.

NessL: Yeah?!?!?

Me: Damn I wish I was there for that..... it's fine she is a good kid who doesn't complain so I am doing just fine but we were busy so I forgot to message you guys.... but I'm doing homework now so I will see you guys in the morning ttyl.

"Hey System when will I officially go to the dungeon?" I ask trying to get myself mentally prepared.

[Hist first time in the dungeon will be in a month to allow you to get use to your new powers and the system it has been determined that you will go in a months time.]

Sighing I nod I do need to get use to my powers and stuff since I have been using all my time hanging out with Lenny and Eve so I haven't really trained in anything even though I have instant mastery. But I figured since I do have instant mastery I still need to learn different moves using lightning and I need to get use to being part Vampire and Phoenix. Nodding my head I get lost in my thoughts but it is fine since willow is distracted by what she is currently working on.

My phone finally stopped vibrating when they realized I was not going to answer them but I'm not stressing over it because I really want to see if something will happen between them or not. I'm just about to ask Willow if she bored but she rushes over to me and shows me a picture she drew, it has two stick figures one is a little girl the other is a tall guy and she spelled our names underneath it. I hug her close and praise her telling her I'm going to keep it forever which makes her giggle and go back to draw more pictures, laughing I put the picture in my night stand next to the couch and go get a drink.

After grabbing snack for Willow and I, I begin playing games automatically before I know it time has already passed by and our moms are already back, Ms.Steel picked up Willow and they went home my mom was in a fit of giggles before passing out.

My moms pained moans along with my cell phone alarm going off wake me up and I happily walk into the kitchen to see her nursing her hangover with toast and coffee which has me laughing. Cooking the last of the bacon I make two egg sandwich's passing one to her because I know the grease in it is the best to soak up the alcohol, after feeding her I get dressed and meet Eve and Lenny before they show up. Sitting on the curb I read through some comics on my phone while I wait for them but I don't wait long because they show up pretty quick, bouncing with excitement they both holler when I get in the car because today is Pep-rally day!

Lenny explained to Eve and me how it works at starlight the whole school basically shuts down and we don't do any real work, because of the excitement of the first football game kids go crazy. When I asked if they planned to join any school activities they both laughed and said they would rather die then give any of their free time to being at school any longer than and official school day, when Eve notices my shirt she immediately stops the car and goes back to my house. Pointing at their matching shirt then at mine she tells me I need to go out on the shirt she worked so hard to make or we were not leaving from this spot. After changing are shirts all read together our screen names MyPrincessEve, NessL, and PitJax, satisfied we get pumped again and race to school, since his first period class has to set up them gymnasium Lenny takes off before school starts.

"So did you guys have fun without me yesterday?" I ask Eve leaning on her shoulder in the library.

Brushing her hand through my hair she thinks it over before answering, "Not really it was different. Don't ask me why but when it's not all three of us I don't feel good. So you're not aloud to leave without us even babysitting we can help." Her complaint really warms my heart and makes me smile.

"I agree, you two might be goofballs but I missed you way more then I thought I would." Moving my head I lean down and lay down in her lap, she smiles at me tracing the words on my shirt, "Girl you know if you rub my chest it's only fair to let me return the favor." She doesn't say anything just blushes and continues to move her hand.

"Yesterday before meeting you guys in the cafeteria a guy in my math class stopped me to flirt with me." She explains why she was blushing yesterday.

"Oh yeah is this a guy you like then." I was a hint of worry in my voice not because I liked her or anything but because I was worried for Lenny, I think she hears it too because she tries to hide her smile.

"No he was just a flirt. Not as bad as you two but a flirt none the less I want to experience more of living here before I even think about a boyfriend. And if I did choose someone it would have to be... Lenny or.....You." Her small smile and shy look makes me want to hold her and that's just what I do pulling her waist my face ends up in her stomach and she doesn't push me away just continues brushing my hair humming her songs like always. "Okay big guy class is about to start text me when you get there, I will see you and Lenny at lunch." After that she pats my chest and walks away.

In physics the teacher gives us a terrible assignment of read one page of the physics book that's it before she goes onto her computer and plays out school theme on repeat. Drew is still sitting beside me and wearing his football jersey apparently he is a captain and when I ask him about it he ends telling all about him changing to the position of wide receiver and dominating last year. During class I get endless text from Lenny and Eve apparently Lenny's class is moving super slow to kill time so they aren't really doing anything since other classes with come complete it through out the day. Eve is super excited ending each of her text with a lyric from the schools fight song, since the rally starts after our free period we are going to end the day together so she can't contain her excitement. 

Lenny makes a comment about her probably on some high drugs cause not even he was this enthusiastic about his first rally but now that he has us he is pumped and ready to go. I send some birthday celebration emojis and kissy faces to them but really I'm playing games  on my phone since although the teacher is letting us do whatever I can't play my Switch like I want too. My lack of real enthusiasm makes both of them yell at me to show some real spirit or they will and I quote "string me up and beat me like a piñata" so I send them a video of me making funny faces. 

That gets them to believe me, after physics is over we do the same in English and when I get to History we get a visit from a group of cheerleaders, in that group is Bethany and I would be lying if I said she didn't look hot ass hell in her uniform. With her hair in a bun with our school color ribbons she makes that uniform look way to good to be on anybody, we aren't exactly friends yet but when she sees me she sticks her tongue out before they walk out of the classroom. 

I recorded it and immediately sent Eve and Lenny the routine not all classes get to see the cheerleader stop by so when a class does see it they record it to brag to friends, when they get the video they start hounding me about what class they said they are going to next. It should be mentioned that they pass out t-shirts and other school 'swag' when they stop by.

At lunch they have red and yellow jello to represent the school, the most noticeable change is that in the cafeteria is a sea of gold and red nothing out of place it takes me back for a moment before I move to our table. After Lenny comes in Eve shows up again with a smile and blushing but instead today she tells us about how the guy hit on her again but she wasn't smiling and blushing because of him it was because she thought the guy was an idiot for even trying to talk to her.

"He was so stupid like I'm going to fall for 'hey girl, I told you I was the starting quarterback now do you want some of this' it left me in a fit of laughter." She explains making his facial expressions. Lenny and I can't help but to laugh too who is stupid enough to try and hit on Eve with moves like that if you want to hit on Eve you have to make it relate to her.

"God He was stupid if he wants to hit on you he should have tried saying..." I calm my expression and give her a little smirk, "I know it might come to a surprise to hear me say this but seriously looking into your eyes I drown in that ocean of blue." The only thing that would ever work on her is a cheesy pickup line, and I'm right because she immediately blushes and looks down.

"Or how about this one....," Lenny tilts her chin up with his hand, "Trust me girl those lips and your smile could cause wars it is so beautiful." He says ending with a little wink and her face goes red, we bust out laughing after but Eve puts her head down shying away from us.

"Guys cut it out your embarrassing me..." She whines hitting us both in the chest with her tiny fist, after that we all laugh and spend the rest of the time playing games.

It was time for what we were all waiting for the pep-rally Eve grabs our hands and squeals dragging us into the gym, we can hear the roar of the people who are already in there and more people are rushing just like us. At the door someone is selling toy mascots it is a gold star with a red streak like it is going to crash into earth, as soon as she see it Eve squeals and looks at us with pleading eyes but Lenny doesn't have cash on hand so I buy it for her. Hugging it in her chest she drags us up to the middle of the bleachers and we all start following along with the crowd stomping our feet, with a loud yell the rally starts and it rushes by with cheers, music, raffles, and the football team playing games.

It wasn't really my cup of tea but both Lenny and Eve enjoyed so I don't make a fuss and agree with them and start telling them my favorite highlights from the rally. Since there are no more class for the day we head out to Eve's car and it was unanimously decided that they would sit up at my job and wait for me to get off since I only have to work for three hours today. All the way to the bookstore Lenny and I played Smash Bros. Eve decided since I work today I didn't have to drive today.

A Teen gains a system to help him for the rest of his life.... watch him enjoy a new life in a new way while keeping his new system hidden from the world.... wouldn’t want the government experimenting on him.

Max's Pov
My pops are never someone to get angry or raise his voice at all. He always has a calm aurora to him or he's happy all the time.Once he got mad when I didn't listen to Mommy about picking up my toys and that was enough to scare me. I do not think people mean to get mad, maybe dad does not mean it when he just yelled at Sarah.
My coloring page looks nice if I do say so myself. I drop my crayons and look at Sarah and pops talking back and forth.
I have no idea what they are fighting about but in school, my teachers say it is wrong to be mean and violent to others.
Mom and dad have not been together since forever. The last time was when we went skating and it was so fun. Felt like a real family from my picture books. I rub my eyes at the wetness increasing in them. When I opened them again I saw a puppy keychain on the floor outside of the diner.
I wonder whom it belongs to. I should pick it up and give it back to the owner because they might be really sad without it. Sarah and dad continued to bicker as I crawled under the table without them noticing.
I reached my palm of my hand out and grabbed the key chain and started down the long hall of the diner to whom it may belong.
I see a tall and worried girl standing in the middle of the hallway looking around. The girl must be looking for this key chain. I run-up to her with the key chain jiggling in my hand and I stop her before she can go the other direction.
"I think you dropped this," I say in a short breath as I look up, running my hair back.
The girl turned and looked down at my hand and gave a polite smile and thank you to me."Your welcome," I say smiling back at her with a grin.
Mom says that one day I will find a girl that I will love as a friend and as a lover or whatever that means. I introduced myself to the little girl before I felt a hand crept up to the small of my back .Sarah stood behind me with a teary-eyed look.
Did Daddy make her cry?
She began to speak up in a croaked voice.
"Who is your friend Max?"
"She isn't my friend."
"Come on, don't be rude Max," Sarah warns.
"The girl lost her keychain so I found it for her," I explain pointing at the girl in her school uniform.
"That was nice of you buddy, I got scared for a minute that someone had you," Sarah mumbles.The girl seems to be relatively older than me, I had not noticed until a guy older than me stood tall in front of her and spoke up to Sarah.
"Hey butterscotch nice to see that you love stalking me." the guy said in a hushed tone leaning near Sarah.
Who is this guy and why does he call her that?
As Sarah and this mysterious guy started small talk a young woman smiled at me and introduced herself as the girl's mother, and I told her that my sister is the one talking to the guy.
"Oh what a lovely sister you have sweets," the girl's mother said in a laughing tone.
"That is the same thing I tell her but she always shushes me," I exclaim using hand gestures.
"Oh, dear," The girl's mother giggles at my innocent manner.
Sarah stops her conversation with the mysterious guy and looks over me to the lady and also introduces herself as.
"This guy is my school friend Oliver," Sarah says in a crouched position on the ground.
"Hi my new nickname for you is back up from my sister or you will-" I tried to finish my sentence but Sarah clasped her hand over my mouth.
"I think you have had enough chatter for the day to run along now, maybe go see if the food is there with dad." Sarah dismisses me and I slump my shoulders in defeat at me protecting her from that idiot with a grin on his face right now.
I swiftly made my way back to the booth. I slid back into my previous seat and I looked up to see a dad with his hands on his head. I wonder why he is so upset.
"Daddy did you and Sarah get into a fight?" I ask, touching his arm in a comforting tone.
"No don't you worry about it son, Sarah just didn't be honest with daddy and daddy got a little mad." My dad sighed, raising his head slightly to give me a thin smile.
"Well food always makes me happy so maybe it can make you smile daddy," I say in hopes of him not being sad or mad anymore.
"Food is a good offer but this cannot make daddy happy as much as it does to you, Max." Dad scoffed at my attempt.
This dinner was not the best at all although I got a new friend today and I still feel very conflicted with dad and Sarah.
Once I got home I shut the door to my room and flopped myself on the bed sprawled out. 
Looking up I can see the moon and stars in my room that was put up the first time we went to dad's house. I named each star for one thing I wanna accomplish when I get older.
One of them being putting mom and dad back together so we can be a happy family again. I don't think that's gonna happen and I want everyone to be happy and it seems nothing works. I rub my eyes that now sting my welling tears threatening to spill out.
That night, I heard the constant yelling and slam of the house phone. I was used to hearing noises at night but this one woke me up. I dragged my blanket off the bed and draped it around my small framed body.
I jumped down from my bed and opened my door to a small creek, I walked out cautiously with a turn of my head from side to side and an illuminated light coming from downstairs.
I held the railing and stepped down the lengthways staircase. Reaching down safely I see a dad with a hunched overshadow in the kitchen with a beer and the house phone broken.
"Dad?"

One night can lead to way more than a silly game of Truth or Dare, Starting with the nerd of the school and ending with the Journalist that so happens to be a girl. Not only did Sarah Hills get the scoop of the news but also felt it. In more ways than one, the school came to know the tale of the night that brought two teens together.
