She especially became scared when the teacher started to pay more attention to her. One day, when she runs from him, she falls into a world of adventure, risk, and abnormalities.

THE SITUATION RIGHT NOW: I've gotten over the majority of my laziness. I'm unlikely to update this much. It's pretty much complete. The novel I'm working on is Dark Seas Leading Demise

Hazel didn't really think Billy would show up a second night in a row after she failed to appear. But the stupid, tiny spark of hope that had ignited when she met him refused to let her stay in bed when she woke up from her nightmare after being sent back to her own room the next day. 
A lone figure leaned against a tree near the door leading to the girls' wing and her heart leapt to her throat. He came. She ditched him and he came anyway. 
She rushed forward in excitement before stopping herself. She didn't know why he was here. It might be to chew her out for being inconsiderate. 
There was a cold light in his eyes as he stared straight ahead, unblinking. He couldn't see Hazel since she was coming at him from the side. She nearly shivered. In that moment, she could almost believe he truly was dangerous. 
But when Billy heard her footsteps and turned to face her, the coldness was gone and a friendly expression crossed his face. 
"I thought you'd come. Heard you were in isolation last night; that's rough. Did you bite a nurse?"
Hazel shook her head, surprised that he knew. Had one of the nurses been gossiping about her near his room or something? 
"I didn't hear you scream last night," Billy explained, noticing her confusion. "I've been here for nearly three years now and have heard you scream every night but a few random ones every few months. Going off of that pattern, isolation was the only thing that made sense." 
The padded walls helped muffle noise. Nobody could hear you in isolation unless they were right outside the door. It was why there was always a guard within sight of the little window. 
Hazel looked down, embarrassed. No wonder nobody liked her. They had to listen to her screams every night and lose sleep over it. 
Billy reached out and patted her shoulder. "Nothing to be embarrassed about."
Tears pooled in her eyes. When was the last time another human being touched her without trying to restrain her? She crumbled at the tiny show of comfort. 
"Aww, Hazel, don't cry! There's no reason for that. The moon is full tonight so there's plenty of light for us to read and write in. There are all sorts of new words I can teach you."
She hastily wiped them away, firm in her resolve. She would learn how to express herself properly if it was the last thing she ever did. 
They spent about an hour working on some more sight words but after that Billy had the idea of teaching her how to write phrases that could help her. Things like "I'm hungry," "I'm thirsty," and "I need to use the bathroom."
They worked through about twenty phrases like that, which took up most of their remaining time. Billy was teaching her how to write "my name is Hazel" as the sun began rising behind the mountains in the distance. 
"There, that should help you a bit," he said in a satisfied voice. 
Hazel wrote 'thank you', one of the phrases he had taught her, in the sand. 
"You're welcome! Should we meet up again tomorrow night?"
She was a bit curious why she hadn't seen him at yard time today—she had specifically looked for him—but she didn't have the words to ask. Instead, she nodded happily. If they kept this up, she would be able to ask him anything she wanted sooner or later. 
Hazel made her way through the rest of the day sleepily but when free time rolled around she grabbed a pad of paper and a hot pink crayon to practice writing. Learning from her mistakes, she decided to sneak the materials back to her room and away from Cindy. 
That nosy girl would definitely want to know what she was doing writing inane phrases over and over. It was none of her business!
She practiced diligently for about forty-five minutes before she got to writing "my name is Hazel." She frowned. How was Billy's name spelled? Obviously it started with a B…and since it ended with the same sound as "hungry" and "thirsty" it probably ended with a Y.
Hazel sounded it out in her head. B, I, L, Y. She wanted to write him a note but her spelling would probably be horrible. 
Taking out a new piece of paper, she tried to put the simplest thought she had down. She wanted to tell him how much she appreciated his kindness. But did she know enough words? 
An idea struck her before she even wrote down a single word. Why not give him the picture she had drawn during art time today? She could write the note on the back. 
After all, her mom always liked being given her artwork. Today she had drawn a picture of a kitten and a puppy in a field of flowers with a few clouds in a light blue sky. It had made her a little bit happy so maybe it would make him a little bit happy too. 
Hazel flipped over the drawing and painstakingly wrote out 'Bily, thank you for be good to me.' She wanted to say 'love Hazel' but didn't know how to write love so she drew a heart in front of her name instead. 
It wasn't as concise as she would have liked but she didn't know how to spell "being" or "nice." He hadn't taught her any words ending in –ing yet. 
Hazel hugged the drawing to her chest. She hoped he understood what she meant. 
When a nurse came looking for her because it was time for dinner, she hastily stuffed the drawing, papers, and crayon under her pillow. She could definitely use them again later to keep practicing when no one was looking. 
Sitting through dinner and visiting hours was so difficult knowing she was so close yet so far from seeing Billy and giving him her thank you gift. Why couldn't it be 3 AM already? Hazel still had to get through the rest of the day and another terrible nightmare before she could see him again.

“I’ll marry anyone who will take me!” Hazel declared loudly. “I don’t need love!”

“Get down!” Will hissed. “You don’t know what kind of people are lurking around in here! Talking like that might get you killed!”

Hazel Dixon thought she was putting her troubled past behind her. But when the person she thought she trusted most betrays her, she loses her head and proposes to an entire bar full of strangers. 

Enter Will Sheffield, a charming stranger who decides to take her up on her offer to save her from herself. 

He spoils her rotten without expecting anything in return and Hazel's confusion only grows. She doesn't know why he is acting this way. Or why he reminds her so much of the 'dangerous' childhood friend she thought was gone forever...

Words are meant for a purpose of expressing some stuffs especially emotions not to impress snd attract some attentions.
      Communication is the exchange of ideas and can be able to create feedbacks with each other. Simplicity is beauty. Thus, commonication beauty can express through the simplicity of phrases and words used to create a nice feedback of your communicants, not a silence means I didn't understand reaction I may sight an example; in news broadcast: imagine news in a manner of using blood-popping , very complicated words; do you think the viewers will immediately catch up and get exactly what certain news all about? Maybe, by consulting Dr. Webster.
      Another example, a speech is being recited in a fact that it's so impressive in a sense the topic but it was redudantly saying a single idea. Hello, there is no barrier of communication is occurring to apply the principle of redudancy. The barrier is the word itself. Centain though might make the listener dizzy of the cycle of your very INTERESTING topic and vomit all the things he consumed from your piece.
      Also in writing, it may occur. Sometimes, there are a lot who is so fond of using superflous sclerous and noxious stated words only to impress their readers to let them know that they're intelligent, but actually it's the wide vocabulary that is being used not your style of writing. It's nice to be a vocabularitic person but it's not nice to make every readers of your article suffer from anaemic.
      Imagine how deay the wordd and phrases is? It can make a person bleed (literally). It can also take us to a roller-coaster ( not literally ), that's how powerful words are. i mean, those nice sounded words can alter the meaning of expressionism.

A fiber of connection from miles away...



Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

Hello everyone.
For some time now I have wanted to start writing this story, but due to lack of time and ideas I have had to postpone it.
Now I'm starting it, but I will not publish every day, I can not because of lack of time and I may get tangled up with some others ideas, which can cause me to waste some time.

Currently I'm starting college so my time will be increasingly limited.
But even so I will continue writing as much as I can. I know that many prefer a continuous publication, but in my case it will not be possible. But maybe in the future.
I will try to make the chapters as entertaining as possible to compensate the low speed of publication. I hope you guys enjoy them.


I may sometimes make mistakes when writing certain words or phrases, so I will need some time to review and correct. But I think it's normal.

I am also open to whatever idea you guys have.

Well, this was a brief introduction from my part.
 I hope you enjoy this novel.

Year 2492. After several centuries of scientific and technological advances, humanity faces another war. But this time against a hostile alien civilization, which sees the progress of humans as a threat.

Genu Hoffman, a bionic soldier belonging to the fast-response special groups of the human federation, together with Iris, a multi-function autonomous android, is assigned the mission of going to Kirib 324451, a planet similar to earth that humans have  colonizing and directing an assault unit to repel an alien threat.

For this, it is decided to use a system of dimensional teleportation, but something ends up going wrong. Genu and Iris deviate from the dimensional trajectory and then appear in a completely different world. A world of magic and supernatural creatures.

They ended in a magical world in which they will be on their own judgment.

It was the Spring Festival. It was noisy and lively in the Southern Suburbs as men and women who had left to work in other parts of the country, or migrated had come back for their reunion. The streets were thronged with familiar faces, which were almost never seen at other times of the year. People were wishing and greeting one another with auspicious words, and lanterns were hung abundantly in front of houses to mark one of the biggest festivals.
It had been a few years since the last time Hao Ren had a warm and lively New Year. Vivian had prepared a New Year's Eve feast; there was so much food that the dinner table was filled to the brim and overflowed to the tea table. It was a challenge for all 10 of them—not including the cat and the fish—to cramp together at one table. Nevertheless, they did not mind the crowd—they cared more about the warm atmosphere of togetherness than anything else. As usual, Lily could not sit still and she meandered around the house restlessly. The four ascetics were planning to continue challenging the cold outside before Hao Ren dragged them inside the house. If roasting rabbit meat in the cold wind was deemed proper in the name of religion, than it was more proper that they be invited inside for the Spring Festival.
Big Beardy and his company could not argue about it. They came inside and joined the rest for dinner with all the noise as well as activities.
With a roasted lamb shank in her hand, Lily meandered around the house and wished each and everyone the usual New Year phrases. She was so high that it almost seemed like she was on drugs. Even Vivian was caught up in her act several times. After a round of toasts, Hao Ren in his capacity as the "head of the family" began to speak. "For the past year... Umm, probably less—since Lily only came here about half a year ago—it doesn't matter how long we've known each other. I want to thank you for your support. We have so many of and we come from different races, yet we live together under one roof. That's not easy. So, let us be together like a family, and make our team a world-renowned brand. A toast to..."
Kicking Hao Ren on his leg, Vivian who was next to him said, "Save it, mate. You've been raising your wineglass for like 10 minutes, yet you haven't had a sip. Don't pretend you're drunk."
Hao Ren sat down embarrasingly. "I'm not really a drinker. I was hoping you would sing along."
Lil Pea, who was lying on the table saw the wineglass in Hao Ren's hand. She got up and poked her head inside to take a little sip of the contents before she grunting and flopping onto the table like a fish out of water. Vivian quickly took the glass away and said, "How could you let her—"
By then, the crackling and popping of firecrackers were rattling throughout town. Lily scurried up to Hao Ren and reached her oil-soaked claws out and demanded, "Landlord, give me the firecrackers. I'm going to light it up outside."
Looking at the cute maiden delightfully, Hao Ren took out a bunch of firecrackers and went out with her.
As the firecrackers popped and crackled, Lily jumped up and down like an overjoyed child. Even the steady maiden, Nangong Wuyue was thrilled and they both of them laid the bangers on the ground in patterns as if they were going to set themselves on fire.
Becky and the four ascetics looked on in horror. Big Beardy pulled Hao Ren by his sleeve and asked, "That's how it goes every year?"
"Yup," Hao Ren said, still holding on to a half-burned incence stick, which he used to light the bangers. "But, it's not like that every where—at least, not in the city. They don't give a hoot here in the countryside."
Becky looked at Hao Ren with admiration. "The people of this world are braver than we are. The way you guys set off the explosives at your own front door to celebrate your important day every year is astounding. It's like the legendary berserkers..."
Meanwhile, Lil Pea had slipped out of the house and hobbled right to Hao Ren's feet. No one had noticed her amid the hoo-ha.
The little mermaid looked at the fire popping out of the bangers. She was scared but also excited. She found a banger on the floor, which had not gone off and examined the red explosive tube. It smelled like food to her before she peeled off the end of the red tube and found some black powder flowing out of it.
The little mermaid pondered for a while, thinking that she should be more exploratory. She emptied the black powder into her mouth.
Seconds later, the little mermaid wailed loudly as she spat gunpower out of her mouth. At this point, Hao Ren as well as Vivian were already alerted, and they saw what was happening. They were scrambling around to help her. "I didn't know she came out..."
"She swallowed the gunpowder! She swallowed the gunpowder!"
"Oh sh*t, really?"
"Go and get some hot water, quickly... No, it's not for rinsing her mouth!"
"Lily froze her!"
"Wuyue, please help! Get some hot water to defrost Lil Pea..."
The atmosphere in Hao Ren's house was lively, but mostly for the wrong reasons... Sort of.
After a long attempt of "rescuing", Lil Pea finally calmed down. Perhaps the chilly temperature had also helped in coaxing the little mermaid, who may have gone into a semi-hibernation state. They noticed that the little mermaid liked to go outside. So, Vivian had come up with an creative idea: she took the rice cooker out, extended the power cord right outside the house, filled it up with water and flipped the power switch. When the water warmed up, she placed Lil Pea in the rice cooker; this way, the little mermaid could enjoy the snowy scenery outside in the comfort of her rice cooker. She could not get out, but she could make do with that. She soaked herself in the "hotspring" while she watched her canine sister play and laugh as the bangers went off.
Hao Ren pondered for a while before he took out a piece of red paper and wrote "nian nian you yu", a pun which literally meant "there's fish every year". The saying denoted prosperous and abundance, so Hao Ren stuck it on the rice cooker. Then, he admired himself for his creativity.
"This is the couplet?" Vivian's brows were scrunched together as she stared at the couplet on the front door. " If it hadn't been a personal gift from the goddess, I would've recommended not to display it outside..."
The couplet, written with Raven 12345's personal brush strokes, was now up on the front door. Excusing the writing, Hao Ren contemplated whether he should first take a selfie with the couplet and post it online before passersby did it—just to give the online community one more topic to rant about for this year's Spring Festival.
Despite the unsightly appearance, the couplet was indeed useful in some ways. With his mutated eyesight, Hao Ren could see a mysterious radiance shrouding his house and a wide area around it; anyone who came into its coverage had a sense of peace and serenity. Perhaps Raven 12345 was right; these two pieces of paper were enough to turn the area within a two-mile radius into a sacred land.
All of a sudden, Becky noticed that one of them was absent. "Where's Biggie?"
Only then did Hao Ren noticed that Y'zaks had not joined them outside. He went back inside and surprisingly, saw Y'zaks sitting at the table drinking his wine all alone. It was as if he did not hear the hoo-ha outside.
"Hey, Y'zaks! Y'zaks!" Hao Ren called out from the doorway at the great demon, who appeared to be in a stupor. He came inside and tapped the table. "Hey, dude, why are you drinking here all alone? Don't you want to join them outside?"
"No, thanks," Y'zaks sounded like he was not in the mood. His face was pasted with his signature frightening smile. "I'm better off drinking here alone by myself. It's too noisy outside."
Hao Ren sensed something was wrong with him; although Y'zaks was more of a tepid character, he would not avoid the crowd. Obviously, something was on his mind. "So, what's up, dude?"
Y'zaks had gulped down two bottles of shaojiu—a strong alchoholic drink. But man-made liquors did not seem to have an effect on him. He sighed as he looked out through the window at the lights and fireworks, his mind slowly drifting away. "It's a day of reunion, eh? It's a very good day. We demons have no such concept, though."
Hao Ren looked at Y'zaks, whose face was filled with an unexplainable loneliness; he had never expected to see such an expression on a demon. Hao Ren hesitated for a long moment before he decided to ask, "I know you're a person with a story. If you decide not to tell me, I'll just drink with you. If you decide to tell me, then I'll listen. It's the New Year, mate. Don't keep things to yourself. You have us. Who knows, we may be able to help."
Y'zaks smiled and glanced at Hao Ren. "...I think I'll just tell you before you die from alcohol poisoning."
Hao Ren was stunned for a while, and then he heard Y'zaks sharing his mind. "It's not a big deal, just that I miss my daughter..."

I finished writing the basics of the EXP system, and now stuck in the elemental system (almost done, but need some creative ideas!)

Voidne is the unluckiest person in the world.  Just like his mother, he needs to work 5 times harder than normal people, just to achieve the same thing.

But one day the unlucky Voidne crossed through a wormhole by a mistake, that sent him into a parallel universe to occupy the body of the Voidne from that universe.

The new parallel universe was more advanced, and a new game was about to get released.  It was a VRMMORPG, that is going to be super popular.  Even companies were going to fight over occupying this game.

I am a 13 year old who loves reading .I thought that I cold give a try in writing and here I am .Never expected anyone to read my book and Thank you to all who read it.I live in India so we have English as our first language so there won't be many grammatical mistakes.We have compulsory creative writing in English so all of us are used to writing lame stories.I know currently nothing much is happening in the story but I can assure that by the weekend the story will get interesting.

what if, your marriage was not your own choice

After Flora logged into the workshop, she dumped the books in a corner and set up the page-turner.
Taking a sip from the Potions Guzzler, she returned to the still running simulation grounds. 
In the morning, she had forgotten to check on the Blade-Rollers. The poor robots were both in bad shape. One showed severe damage through overheating, the other had four ruptured appendages, and both of their sawblades were blunt.
"Mine is the broken one, Milady. I pushed the movement and rammed a few trees. Aitoshuri did several long term tests. I'll transmit her data to you."
A row of stats appeared on Flora's HUD. Running continuously, the sawblades worked up to two minutes on their highest setting before overheating and half an hour in their lowest setting. Not bad, not bad at all. 
"Outstanding job."

Flora returned to her workbench to work on the octopus. Now she had a pretty good picture of the joints and the motors for them. 
She decided to equip two of the tentacles with tools as tips. With a heavy heart, she sacrificed one of her two Doom-Moon multitools and a knife/bender/gripper hybrid for the other arm. 
The octopus should not only help her with crafting but also with fighting. Laser eyes were an absolute classic. She browsed the doom moon laser-turret manuals and the marketplace for ideas and appropriate parts.
Now, she had included all the functions she wanted. 
Next came the fun parts. 
Rationality told Flora to armor the octopus, but thinking about Aitoshuri's needs and real-life octopuses, she had a better idea: Display fabrics!
These fabrics could change their colors to such a degree, that they were used as TV-Screens. The military used them for camouflage and the fashion industry for special effects.
Her drawn picture with notes finished, she started to build the robot.
Mainly, she used the tier-1 materials from Doom Moon. Unfortunately, she couldn't create a whole laser system with them, so she had to substitute with tier-0 materials, that was also the case for the casing with the display-fabric.
With more efficient motors, she solved the worst of her energy problems, but her plans for skin and the laser eyes had thrown her back. She splurged on a high-efficiency mana battery that Aitoshuri could hoard mana while not working and use it for high-load phases.
The octopussy quickly took shape: Eight limbs equally spaced around a roundish head. For the eyes, Flora found some cute heart-shaped laser crystals and immediately bought them.
Comparing her creation to a picture of an actual octopus, she decided to stay more on the cartoonish side of design and forwent the beak and the mouth opening at the bottom. The ability to spew poisonous ink would be awesome, but she had enough on her plate for the first version - maybe in the future.
An easy solution would be using toxic materials for the tentacles. Aitoshuri could hug her opponents to death!
Flora experimented with fusing the toxic waste and the hull material of the Doom Moon and came up with suitable material. It wasn't as strong as the pure material, but she liked the toxic effect.
Suddenly she got another idea. What if she could integrate a kind of inventory space, so Aitoshuri could pick up and store things directly? Flora had disliked stooping down in the sewers and collecting dead creatures like the kingators. 
After a quick research, she found a solution. Unfortunately, robots couldn't have a separate inventory. You either could include ordinary bags, or you could give them an access slot to your own inventory. When Flora thought about it for a bit, she realized that the latter had advantages as well. Flora included the inventory-access under the head.
'We'll see how it works out.'
Finally, she finished the design.

Flora burned to print the robot!  But she refrained from it because it would be a great project to inaugurate her very own printer. 

The next idea came to Flora when she thought about what to do subsequently. Flora whistled. She was on a creative streak! 
In the martial arts classes, the other students had their pets on the walls of the room. She could use the page-turner and let Aitoshuri read.
Envisioning the mountain of books and the page-turner amidst wolves and tigers, she decided to build a library container. She could hide all the bad romance in it, and nobody would see the books! That alone was reason enough!
Another 3x3x3m Container took form. This time, Flora inserted shelves and the page-turner and gave it four extendable legs to save space in the classroom. She connected the page-turner and the container, no need to waste mana and nocks on two devices when one could do the job.
On the outer casing, she air-brushed a shelf with old books and the inside brown and orange grained. She added a light and a long grappler that the AIs could fetch their books themselves from the shelves.

When Flora saw the rating, she reworked the legs. Before, she had rushed that parts of the design too much. After increasing the stability and creating a feature, that it could stay at 0,5m, 1m, 1,5,m and 2m without using energy, she refreshed the description.

'Better!'

Flora beamed to the Riverstones HQ to print it. 
While waiting for the printer to complete its job, Svetlana entered the building.
"Hello, Auntie Flora!" Svetlana greeted her. "Thank you for the funding. We used it to upgrade the printer, among other things."
"No problem, dear. Everything that is mine is Robby's anyway." Flora looked at the printer and felt a pang of conscience. "In a few hours, I'll get my own printer. Of course, I want to update it as well. Should I update yours to 'S' first?"
Svetlana coughed. "The update to S is very hard. Don't underestimate it! And to be honest, we have no funds for it at the moment. Of course, we aspire to have an S-rated printer long-term, so your help will be appreciated."
"Sure, and meanwhile, you can use my printer if you want that extra quality. I'm moving to a new lair, and the printer will be in a separate hall from my living quarters, so you can visit anytime without intruding."
"I never heard from someone who upgraded their printer alone. You can hire other crafters to register their blueprints on your printer. The price for an S-rated blueprint is 1000 VirDos."
Now, it was Flora's time to splutter.  "Just for registering? Not the blueprint itself?"
"Right. You didn't know?" Svetlana scratched her head. "Well, we wouldn't pay you money, but you would get lots of contributions points. I already sent you some for the upgrade to A. 
*Bleep*! I forgot to send you the voucher for hiring squats! I'm sorry Auntie, the last week was at the same time hellish with the new employees and heavenly because of all the excitement about my rising synchronization!
I'm now at 69% and hit a ceiling. Do you have any advice?"
"Have you tried using different bodyparts?"
Svetlana stared at her frowning. "What do you mean by body parts?"
The printing of the Library-Container finished. 
Flora signaled Lana to wait a moment while she logged into the workshop and looked through her cloud-drive. 
'Where is the Stehaufmaennchen?'
After she recovered the file, she ordered the printing.
She joined Lana and watched the candy cane alike structure being built.
"I designed this tumbler for training my sync. When you hit it, it will bounce back." Flora pointed at the colorful stripes. "You can aim at the blue band with knee, yellow with your elbow. On the top are some smaller dots to hit with your finger. Try it first when it is standing still after that when it is swaying. Don't forget to train to aim with your butt and bosom, as well. You never know when you need fine control in these areas!" 
"That's handy! I saw the tumbler at the forum a view hours ago!
It's a new item in the Cetviwos-Shop. Guess they directly used the rights they bought from you."
"Oh, well. I don't expect much sales from such a simple gizmo." She looked at it. "I could add a feature that gives you challenges, lighting up some of the rings and a body part, and you get points for hitting it correctly. And you wouldn't have to announce the moves to the System." Flora grinned. Yes, she was on a creative fire! "Would you be interested in such a device, or is it too much pressure?"
"My old job consisted of disarming bombs. I'll be damned if a *bleep*ing tumbler pressured me!"
"Give me 10 minutes!" 
Flora logged back into the workshop and took a sip from a mana potion.
'Cables, L.E.D.s, sensors, a display, a mana-plate, and a control box, and we are ready to go!'
First, she put an L.E.D behind every stripe and dot of the tumbler.  Then she sculpted a human doll that looked a bit like Svetlana, marked the body-parts, put lights behind them, and put it at the top of the pole. 
At the base, she installed the display and a big 'Start'-Button.
Then she wired everything to the box. 
Flora realized that it was the first time she had to program a control box. Until now, she had cheated with using the AIs to control the devices.
Thankfully, the programming was more like putting phrases together than actually writing the code: 
Define zone_x: Where the color of the pole is the same in the region of L.E.D_x.
Define bodypart_y: To the lit doll body part corresponding body part of the player.
At Button press:
Light up one random L.E.D_x of group tumbler-lights. 
Light up one random L.E.D_y of group doll-lights.
Wait 5 seconds or until Hit in L.E.D zone_y with bodypart_y.
When Hit: Counter +1.
Show counter.
Repeat 10 times.
When Flora checked the time, she realized that she had only needed 6 minutes. So she added a menu-button and up and down arrows for adjusting the time for the hit and the number of rounds.
Flora rechecked everything, shrugged, and ordered to print it two times.
It was a bit rough, but that was normal for a prototype for proof of concept.

Back in the bamboo hut, Flora found Lana training with the original tumbler and explained to her the game.
When the devices finished printing, they occupied different corners of the hut and started playing.
In the first round, Flora got an easy move: The head of the doll lit up and a stripe near the top. She headbutted the tumbler for her first point.
The next round left her slack-jawed: Left knee to the stripe directly beneath the doll. That was at the height of 1,70m!
Flora to Aidan: "Remind me to make two areas that we can match only the upper body limbs to the high zones of the pole. Maybe implement two game variants, one for gymnasts and one for normal people."
<Power-Jump>!
While Flora hit the pole, she missed the right zone by a hairbreadth. Admittingly a very corse hair, more a dreadlock than natural hair.
The next few rounds went uneventful. Only when the pole wanted from Flora to hit one of the small dots with her elbow, she took another note.
Flora to Aidan: "More mid-sized zones would be helpful as well. Maybe we quarter one of the cylindric stripes at hip-height in rectangles."
After Flora completed the game with a score of 9, she watched Lana finishing her round. Her counter showed 12, but Flora didn't know how many times she had failed. She added it to the improvement list.
Lana's movement looked fluent, and she aggressively attacked the tumbler.  The weird jerkiness was gone, but a bit of skittishness remained.
"So, what do you think? Any suggestions?"
"I *bleep*ing adore it and don't want to stop! But two issues caught my eyes: A finger lit up, and it took me a while to identify which finger because the light spread. The other thing is, I haven't even played five minutes and a quarter of its durability is already gone. My strength isn't that high. If someone with a lot of physical power plays this game, the tumbler will be kaput in no time."
"Good points! The solution for the first one is easy, but I don't know about the second one. Maybe higher-tiered materials?"
"You could try to get it approved as a training-dummy. I know that the requirements are ridiculous because people had exploited it for combat, but you can try."
"Oh, tell me how! I love exploitation!"
"First they made training dummies robots with infinite HP and took them questing as tanks. That got fixed quickly. Then a too clever by a half guild constructed the wall of their compound out of mage dummies. The wall was not only indestructible, but it actually shot spells at the attackers."
Flora laughed. "Great! I want that! Any more feedback?"
"Some of the combinations were a bit challenging, but I liked it. The journey is the reward, right? And without pushing the limits, there is no progress."
"Exactly, but I will implement an easy mode for the beginners. Thank you for testing! I'll send you the finished product as a reward."
Flora to Aidan: "I hope you took notes, she did some excellent testing."
"Oh, yes, no probs! Thanks!" Lana fidgeted. "The topic is hot ATM. I would hurry up the publication. And ... I might stay here for a while, you know." 
Flora smiled and nodded. But first, she went in the corner of the hut and filled up the library container. Although Lana was occupied with the game, Flora still shielded the books from her eyes.
'I'm so childish! I'm sure Lana reads tons of shitty romance novels! And since when do I care what other people think of me?'
The admonishment didn't help. Flora tucked the books away on the last shelf. Not that you could hide 124 books in an otherwise mostly empty library, but she tried.
Flora to Aitoshuri: "Enjoy!"
A fanfare of trumpets sounded, which made Flora smile. She recognized the piece: it was from Bach's 'Jauchzet Frohlocket!' (Shout for joy, exult!).
Back in the workshop, Flora enlargened the hands of the doll. Then she inserted an opaque material on the inside and black contours outside between all the zones. That would help color blind people to distinguish the zones better. 
Methodically, Flora worked through her list until only the dummy issue was left. 
That proved to be simpler than Lana depicted it. Flora just had to draw a rune on the base. The rune made the tumbler indestructible while training, but vulnerable while in combat. 
Flora was intrigued by the concept of runes and immediately bought the book '1000 common Runes and Glyphs'.

After printing one for Lana and herself, she published the design and wrote CentralTank a letter. She offered them to feel free to sell it in their shop as well, for a cut, of course.

After Flora Fluss burns down the kitchen, her son insists she is too old to live alone. She's got two choices. Either move into a retirement home or spend the rest of her life within a virtual reality game governed by society's most advanced artificial intelligence. When you've worked a lifetime as an engineer for home appliances, naturally, you go with the option that has more toasters. 
Soon, Flora finds out that the virtual world is more familiar than she thought. Though, it takes her a while to get used to the idea that tanks don't hold water or oil but the aggro of mobs.
