The winner of my prompt was a book that is now on hiatus. No other entries qualified. At the time I didn't realize that having votes was the rank qualifier. So my book was instantly disqualified.
Despite not making it past the car park, so to speak, I kept this story going. I had moved it to Wattpad and continued to post chapters there.
I entered it into a Wattpad community award, and had eventually won the award for Historical Fiction, but never received the prize for it. 😆
That's okay. Knowing that my writing was enough to be a winner in a judge's eyes was cool. It won over some quality stories as well. That was a prize enough for me.
After some time, I started posting the story to Tapread where it picked up read interest there. Then I got a ping from Islinda who liked the lone chapter I had left on the book page.  
This story has been a blast to write. I'm proud of what I've been able to achieve with it. I have no regrets of what I leave behind, as I have given my best shot.

Hinata longed for his Eiji to return from war. Alone in the idyllic countryside whilst other areas of Japan were torn asunder. One day, he receives a letter from his lover filled with the scent of sunflowers and his undying love for him. Followed by official news of his presumed death at Iwo Jima. Heartbroken. Yet determined to honor his promise to Eiji; to live the life they were unable to live together.

Eiji fought honorably for Japan at Iwo Jima. He fell injured in a banzai charge to be classified as dead. He recovered with the aid of an American lieutenant, who escorted him back into the mainland for espionage work. His one chance and hope of return to Hinata's side.

A compelling risk of a war story set at the end of the Pacific War, 1945. Two sides of the war, on Japanese soil, are shown from the individual perspectives of same-sex lovers Hinata and Eiji. 

More than a boys love. This story is an emotional drama, revealing heart and souls of people surviving America's assault on Japan. The consequences suffered at war's end.

I love colors. I'll say it over and over again: I love colors! They're beautiful. They're stimulating. Sometimes I even think they're magical. I love everything about them, from the power they have to evoke emotions to the subtle yet distinct differences they make in a work of art. But my favorite thing about colors is their symbolism, the way they can be used to hide secrets and hint at details of a bigger picture without drawing focus away from the story at hand.

It's simple enough to use colors in visual art, but what about in writing? Challenging as it may seem, I believe it is possible to create symbolism with words, such as when describing color schemes of character outfits and settings. Color symbolism has fascinated me for as long as I can remember, and while it would take an entire book (or series of books) to get into it all, I'd like to at least scratch the surface today with some of the basics I've picked up throughout my experience researching and implementing meaningful colors in my stories. You may want to consider these tips the next time you set a scene; they can help add a vivid new layer to your story! Enjoy!
Red – Red is a bold and passionate color, often symbolizing such strong ideas and images as courage, fire, power, and violence. It's a color that demands attention, which is why it's commonly used to signify danger. Use red for passionate or aggressive characters, or for any sort of intense scene, whether it's the heat of love or the violence of war.

￼Orange – Not quite passionate and not quite joyful, orange is a middle ground between red and yellow. It symbolizes energy and creativity, and is used in psychology to stimulate enthusiasm and determination. Use orange for adventurous or creative characters, or when you want to paint some vibrant warmth into a scene.

￼Yellow – Yellow is the two-sided coin of colors. On the one hand, it symbolizes happiness, optimism, sunshine, and friendship. On the other hand, it can also stand for cowardice, illness, hazard, and deceit. Golden shades represent wealth and luxury. Use yellow when you want to add hints of joy or caution to a scene. For the best effect, I recommend using yellow ambiguously, such as for characters who seem jubilant and optimistic on the outside but who are fearful or deceitful on the inside.

￼Green – Think of green and you're sure to picture beautiful scenes of nature, complete with lush vegetation as far as the eye can see. Indeed, green is the color of the environment, and it represents such ideas as youth, fertility, health, and rebirth. Abstractly, it also symbolizes jealousy and good luck. Use green for characters associated with natural themes such as environmentalism or the practice of healing, or to hint at fortune or envy in relationships.

￼Blue – Blue is my favorite color because it represents all my favorite things. It's a color that symbolizes intelligence, tranquility, trust, and loyalty. In nature, it's associated with the sky and the sea, and different shades from turquoise to navy can be used to signify sophistication, knowledge, and integrity. Use blue for characters who are more intellectual than emotional, and for settings fitting an atmosphere of calm and authority.

￼Purple – Purple is the color of royalty, and has long represented such themes as nobility, wisdom, honor, and extravagance. Being a relatively rare color in nature, it is often associated with mystery and magic. Lighter shades such as lavender also convey grace and elegance. Use purple as a motif for regal or arrogant characters, mysterious settings, and storylines brimming with fantasy.

￼Pink – A soft complement to the bold red, pink is the color that most famously signifies love and romance. Strongly associated with femininity, it represents tenderness, caring, and acceptance. I myself tend to associate the color pink with flowers. Use pink to add a soothing or feminine quality to a scene, or to signify elements of a romantic subplot.

￼Brown – Brown is well known as an earth tone, and as such tends to represent stability. Common ideas associated with the color brown include simplicity, comfort, and endurance. Use brown when you want to convey a sense of plainness or tenacity in a scene without having to resort to the blatant dullness of gray.

￼Gray – The dull middle ground between white and black, gray is most commonly associated with boredom and depression. On the positive side, it also stands for security, modesty, practicality, and reliability. Use gray for conservative characters or when you want to create a colorless air for a particular setting.

￼White – White is the international color of peace, and is often regarded as a symbol of light, purity, and faith. Some even go as far as to associate it with perfection. Note that white takes on a different meaning in Eastern cultures, where it's associated with death and mourning. Use white when you want to convey innocence in your characters and cleanliness in your settings, or when you want to create strong religious symbolism in your scenes.

￼Black – The exact opposite of white, black represents everything that its counterpart doesn't. Darkness, evil, and death are themes commonly associated with black, but it can also stand for austerity, formality, style, and sexuality. Arguably the most powerful color of all, black has a long history of symbolizing strongly opposed ideas on the spectrum of good and evil. Use black to convey depth in your characters or to add dark themes to a scene. For best results, combine it with other colors to create interesting contrasts of ideas in your stories.

Some things you never forget.

Some things change your life forever.

One of Sam's first memories was when she was 5; when she and her grandpa Lucius had just moved to Pari. It was her birthday; and instead of the usual hard bread, grandpa had prepared a few pieces of soft, fluffy wheat bread. It even had a smattering of raisins inside it!

She had chewed happily on her bread - the most delicious thing she had eaten in her life. Then she hugged her grandpa while he patted her on her head (she wasn't so strong then).

When grandpa asked her to make a birthday wish; she innocently wished for a mama and papa.

She felt really, really bad when grandpa's face fell and he started crying; looking at her with guilty, gentle eyes while standing by the kitchen table.

Dumb and silly as she was, she still knew when grandpa was sad. As she hugged grandpa's waist tightly; and he knelt down to hug her back; she wiped away his tears (roughly as a child would) and promised herself to never talk about mama and papa again to grandpa.

Then her 9th birthday. Just like the years before, they had special food together; and she sat by grandpa's side by the make-shift fireplace and listened to him tell stories of his adventuring days.

Only; this year he was quieter; and soon the two of them just sat by the crackling fireplace, enjoying the warm of the heart and each other's company.

Then, seeming to snap out of his thoughts, he smiled wistfully and stood up.

"Sam… I guess it's time to give you something." He waved for her to follow him up to the cramped wooden attic; built as a wooden mezzanine above his ramshackle study.

They climbed up the ladder to the claustrophobic space and the man began to move some of the stacked up boxes. After digging for awhile; he pulled out a dark black-brown wooden box; roughly the size of a book. He blew a puff of air at it, then wiped off the remaining dust.

Sam tip-toed, trying to see the box in the tall man's hands. On it was written the words "EPANASTASI"; with the motif of a Tree and a planet. Only; the picture was odd – the tree was not rooted on the planet – instead, the planet was like an egg floating above the tree.

"This… Was your mother's…" The grey-haired man was normally as hale as an ox; and as full of vitality as a bull. But looking at him today; he looked tired and frail.

Sam, as always, nodded silently. But this time she had a look of awe and wonder on her face. 

He carefully pulled out a locket that appeared like it were made of wood; one that somehow still had a metallic sheen to it. It was strung on a slim silvery necklace which looked quite dull. It was shaped like a leaf.

"Sam…" Lucius had on his face a smile that was not a smile; both happy, yet also sad and grieving. "I've never spoken about your mother, have I…?" He took in a deep breath, and then held it awhile before letting it out.

As he strung the necklace around her neck; he spoke. "Your mother… There's never been someone so kind, so lovely and so… Energetic!" He laughed, closing his eyes and savouring the thoughts.

"Even when she was little, she would constantly find new things, new ideas, new friends… She was always full of life. And so, so smart and adorable; just like her mother…" His gaze fell to the ground; turning aside as he walked through the bittersweet memories.

Then his face contorted into a scowl; but not one of anger – one of guilt and hurt.

"But I couldn't accept her choice of life… No matter how much she tried to convince me, I…" His fists clenched, then unclenched. Clenched again; so hard that his knuckles turned white.

"To this day, I regret… I regret so much; so so so much…" Sam felt like crying too; and wrapped her arms around her grandpa – causing him to flinch and quickly draw back; shocked.

He coughed in embarrassment (at his scared reaction), the shock of her imminent bear-hug enough to snap him out of his memories. Regaining his composure slightly; the old man sighed deeply.

"Sam… I… I don't know how, or why, or what happened…" His eyes turned to the moon; solitary and lonely in the sky above – like the man himself.

"When I found her years later…"

"…I found only a grave..." He stopped; pausing for a long while, wrestling with the turbulent emotions washing over his heart.

"There… There was a-a letter…" Then he smiled through his pain; ruffled Sam's hair and kissed her forehead.

"And…" He smiled in joy through the tears as he held the girl. "…And a 4-year old you."

Once more, the kind, old, broken man's tears welled up; as he held the young girl whose turn it was to shed tears.

That night, a 9-year old girl had cried herself to sleep; only able to think of one word as she drifted off to dreamland:

(Mama… Mama… Where; why did you go…)

[23 August - 4:29 AM - Somewhere in the Swiss Alps]

"Ma... Mama! No...!"

"Fear not, my ssssweetheart... Mistresssssss will... Care for you sssssssumptiously..."

Hearing those words; the crouching ogre-like girl felt something in her snap.

(Mama…)

No, she not only felt it – she *heard* something within her snap; and felt a surge of heat exploding in her head; rushing through her neck and flooding her veins; fortifying her mind, soul, spirit and heart.

As well as a bestial cold, cold blood-thirsty rage – something she'd never felt before.

She heard a whisper in her mind: "Dreamscape Emperor: Soul Conqueror…"

The enraged girl laid aside the sensations - then swiftly doffed her backpack to Albert who was lying down by her side, propped up on his elbows. Snowie was warmly and snugly tucked inside the bag.

Then she spoke tersely.

"Albert."

"Hmm?" He was shaken out of his thoughts; so focused was he on the battle in the distance.

"They're much stronger than us, right...?"

"Yes, completely and definitely so; so you should--"

For once, she acted and thought swiftly; cutting him off.

"Then... Please take care of Snowie."

If he could see her face, he would be horrified - her eyes had turned nearly red with fury; yet her face was ice-cold; jaw set in a woman's wrath - completely unlike her usual cheerful self.

Then she disappeared.

"Saaaaammmm!!!!!!! Nooo!!"

* * * * *

Sam landed; pivoted and charged up in a striking pose; Baguazhang's single palm change.

She mentally flinched as she met eyes with the despicable monster – Celica. She saw a mental image of thousands of phantom, red threads flow like blood from the vampire's eyes; latching on to her mind like bloody tentacles. The tentacles squirmed around; boring into her mind and seeking to take control.

Then the phantom, invisible tentacles convulsed as one – cringing and recoiling like they had touched fire.

Every tentacle that entered her mind had melted; eaten and absorbed into the girls' soul – and the corrosion continued upwards; devouring more and more of the tentacles.

All this takes a long time to describe; but happened in a blink of the eye.

Full-Burst.

Disruption.

Baguazhang style – Lion Stance - straight palm-strike. One of the products of her long, grueling hours of training with Sebastian to master her combat techniques.

"Goodbye."

Her palm flowed forward; appearing to move in slow-motion but in truth faster than the speed of sound.

The deceptively gentle-looking palm floated through the air; dissipating the purple strands of light that tried to obstruct. When her hand touched the level 15 princess' opaque layer of mana reinforcement; it cleaved through with the slightest tremors of vibrations rippling through the thick layer of defence.

Sam's palm landed on the vampire princess' chest; square on her sternum with a *thud* sound.

And the vampire princess' chest caved in; before erupting in a mist of blood and flesh.

Inch by inch she was torn apart by the mountain-like blow and monstrously violent back-and-forth vibrations "blending" her tender flesh and bones to a pulp[2]; the remnants of her corpse scattering to the winds.

"NO!!!!" A cacophony of 3 female voices cried out in unison; joined by 1 male voice, slightly further away.

* * * * *

Having vented her anger on the target of her bloodlust, Sam's eyes and mental state began to recover – but not before her adversaries took advantage of her berserk and defenceless state.

A flash of sword light – a 6-inch nail slicing across a neck – a line of blood drawn; shock in the valiant girl's eyes.

A green blur crossing the 15m distance in a bound; soaring through the air and crashing into the girl - aiming to knock her up into the sky; defenceless.

A great ball of fire so grey it seemed black; launched directly at the trajectory of the girl; to swallow her up and leave her as but ashes. A deathly grey-red ball of death; one sufficient to slay even a mighty winter dragons.

A sob from Misharga; a cry of fear and panic from Albert - the man still more than 2km away; preparing to trigger one of his 3 divine-level talismans.

And the sundered flesh, bone and blood fragments gathered; swirling in the air in a bloody vortex... Reforming… 

Regenerating into a heart; wrapped in layers of pulsating red and purple light - flashing like lightning and thunder, reflecting off the clouds.

Same chapters, same story. 

It's just that, in order to enter the contest, the novel should be newly added to Webnovel. That means at the moment of the novel's creation, you specify the writing contest you are joining. Mine is already out there so the only way to get around it is to create a "new" novel and update that one. It's not against the rules, so that's what I did.

A fiber of connection from miles away...



Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

Guys I made this story to join from contest I previous Writing Prompts Contest 123: Female Lead - Werewolf Sighted on Campus! But now it's already end and I think I don't make make it. So if someone reading this story of mine cause I'm planning to not update it every day since I have another 3 story and it's my priority cause I join it as well in the contest. A girl who hate by her whole clan because of her late parents sin.
She's indeed a traitor for all eyes but still she care and submitted to them.

She is standing in front of her parents little by little eating by the fire burning in the middle of their surrounding clan. She can't do anything other than crying. Beside there are punish because of her.

Because she's born into the world.

Her father is half vampire and half wolf who happen to get fall in love with her wolf mother.

They hide their relationship to everyone since a wolf can't be fall to there enemy's. 

A vampire...

But her mother got pregnant and there relationship revealed to there clan they parents got away and hide. Until in her 10th birthday came and there clan find them and now she's staring at her parents getting burned...


She instantly wake up from her bad nightmare when her auntie shake her to wake up.

Lyca wake up your getting late at school.

She open her eyes wider when she heard that.

No it can't be! I don't want people focus there attention toward me.

I smiled widely at my aunt she's my mother sister who adapt her since her parents died. She love her aunt she is the only one accept her as she is there's no one care about her other than her aunt.

Her clan? Well she's like a trash to them and useless.

I stand up and take a bath and move fast as I can since it's already ten minutes before her class starts.

As she got out of there house she run fast so she can't be late.

I really hope that my power comes out already like the other teenagers at her age but maybe because her father is half only her changing form comes delay.
That was her aunt say. She well maybe she's lying and I don't have power at all.

But it doesn't matter as long as I live I won't lost my hope.

As I cross the street I suddenly jumped in surprised when someone car appears inforn of me. I good thing is I avoid it from running fast.

I sigh... That was close.

Hey if you want to die go on but don't take anyone with you!

The driver said.

I just stoop my head and run again.


I was entering at the school when someone bump in to me.

Hey stupid are you blind! 

I stoop and say sorry. 
But the someone grabbed me and hold my chin up. 

Wohh look who's who! 

I stare at the guy in front of me with silence cause I know I'm pretty doomed. 

Cause I bump into the most notorious guy in the campos together with his allied..

Starting three days late,  I felt that I didn't have time to create a proper outline for the novel so I hopped right in.  This has resulted in a myriad of problems popping up with regards to story progression and the overall quality of the book.

Now that I have a bit of time since the contest is over. I want to work on a few things before the novel gets too far along.  I'll mainly be outlining arcs, villains, power progression, character development, and reworking previous chapters so that they're grammatically better and easier to read.

I can not stress this next point enough.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THIS NOVEL WILL BE DROPPED. 

It's just that I'll be taking a break from this story to work on a few other projects that I've thought up.

As I gazed at the absurd chat before me I could only pray in my heart and ask again.  "System, what do want me to do again?"

"Host has 8 hours to apprehend the murderer known as Escape is Impossible before he successfully disposes of his victim's body.   Failure to do so will result in the termination of the host."

I have seen that there is a new writing prompts contest about werewolves. My book is aligned with the theme, I am thinking if I should join or not. However if I will join the contest I will have to delete this current book  and create a new one. Since I have 50 readers in this book  I want to ask your opinion about this. I want to know your thoughts, please write your comments. Thank you my dears.  I will appreciate your feedback

Hello I decided to edit the content of this novel into Tagalog Version and I decided to create a new book in order to join the WPC contest. You can add the new English Version of this book if you want. I will start to delete and transfer the chapters of this novel to the new book.  Will you still support the book?
