This is a novel encompassed with mystery, ethics, family ties, and romance. Of course, the highlights of this book are the murder cases. 
Although it’s a modern setup where none of the characters have a system or any other cheats, the Author managed to delight me with her writing, creative plots and a good pace without dragging her story. 
I marvel at the way the Author links up the clues and plot to explain the individual cases as well as paving the way to unravel the huge conspiracy behind the individual murders. Romantic plots are light-hearted so readers could take a breather from the plots of gruesome murders.

Still overwhelmed and furious she looks around the room as she started moving around the room. She was left all alone after he left her. What the heck did that guy do to her. She faces the mirror and look at her reflection to see the greatest shock of her lifetime.
"W-What did he do to me? A-Am I...…a monster now?" she said as she looks at her own now foreign reflection.
The Tamara in the mirror has now a fair skin complexion making her looks so pale. She can still feel warmth and life from her body so she confirms that she isn't dead. But weirdly her body figure suddenly changed. Her breast suddenly became a little bit bigger and healthy, her usual dried lips are now reddish and full of life, her long curly hair with many split hairs are now silky smooth and straight, and what is scarier is her eyes. Her once brownish retinas are now reddish with a bluish outline on its sides. 
"I need to escape from here. I don't know that man quite well, what danger he might be. He looks dangerous and scary. I need to escape." She said as she looks around the room. 
Tamara tried the windows but they are shut really will. She sighs in frustration seeing that hanging padlock just outside the bar window seals. She walks towards the door and end up returning to the bed and sitting in frustration and anger. She is locked in.

She was alerted when a sound of chain being rattled from behind the door sounded. She immediately stood on the wall as she holds the bottle of wine that man was drinking from a while ago. Firmly clenching it in her hands she waited for someone to enter the now opening door. 
"Milady your dinner has been served. His Highness is waiting for you in the dining room." A man having a shoulder length hair that he tied in a ribbon on his back said as he bowed facing her after he stood just beside the now opened door.
"M-me? W-wait who are you and where the heck am I?" she said still holding the bottle firmly in her hand. 
The man remained bowed as he his arm is folded on his stomach and a white cloth hangs on his arm, both of his hands are cover in white gloves and he is wearing this odd butler uniform she usually see on movies. 
"Yes milady. You are in the Stanhore Mansion. My name is Charles, Prince Livious' butler. Please come with me, the master awaits you in the dining hall." He said as she looks at him still suspicious. 
"Standhore Mansion? You mean the old abandoned mansion on the edge of Tawner? The haunted mansion that no one dares to enter? H-How on earth…..." she said still in disbelief. 
If what this man saying is true, then she has a less chance of escaping but easy ones she gets out of the mansion. She knows every road from that area until her way back to her apartment. She only need to find the perfect chance to run.
"Please milady follow me." The man who introduced himself as Charles said and she reluctantly put back the bottle on the mini table beside the bed.
She silently looks around the hallway memorizing the way. She got to say the wall inside of the mansion look so grand while when you look at it from the outside it looks really scary and different. She knows that because during their Creative Writing subject her group mates wanted to write a story about ghost and they've chosen to use the Standhore Mansion as their research material. Unfortunately, after seeing how creepy and dangerous the mansion looks from the outside they decided to change it into a market story. She just need to get out of there and she can find her way home.
"Milady please enter. The master is waiting you inside." Charles said as he opens a door for her.
"W-What is going on? Why am I here in the first place? I-is it true...…what he said…is it true that I died?" she asks as she face Charles who is just bowing his head. 
That man Livious give her this uncertain feeling that he is dangerous. The way he talks, move and look at her is so unusual to normal people. Just like this Charles guy who seems to not care about everything but to accomplish his task. They both give this cold and dark aura as if you are near someone who is not there literally.  
"Forgive me milady but only the master can answer your inquiries further. Please go in. It would be best for you not to keep the master waiting. His temper is highly short-lived." Charles said making her sigh remembering what he did to her back in the room. Her face burned upon remembering how he molested her innocence.
"Yah, I can see that." She said softly before slowly walking into the dining room.
When she enters the room Charles walk-in behind her closing the door behind. She saw a bright wide dining room with a wide table with ten wooden chairs there are 2 vases with red roses on the center of the table. By the edge of the table sits Livious facing different served dishes as he constantly plays a glass full of red liquid in his right hand. He didn't even look up to spare them a glance. A menacing smirk appears on her lips as he slowly sips the content of his glass. 
"Master the lady is here. Do you have any other command?" Charles said as he bows towards the still not looking Livious.
"That will be all Charles. You may return to your previous task." Livious said as the servant turn around to leave. 
Tamara is left looking at this Livious guy with try to look brave and strong. She looks around to see no other exit points other than the door they came in. all windows are firmly shut and are covered with this greenish curtains. The whole place looks so clean like that of a house of those typical rich persons in movies. She thinks that other than Charles, there must be few other servants there. That will be another problem for her successful escape.

Our places on this earth are divided by oceans setting us apart from one continent to another. Several countries speaking several languages to understand each other. People with several cultures and beliefs. Different personalities and opinions.

In this chaotic world, we live in called real life we search for a place to escape from that reality. To be accepted as who or what we are. We have found that in the music we sing. In the books, we read. In the movies we watch. In the places, we travel and visit. Everywhere in which we get inspiration to face reality head-on.

We write stories or poems to inspire others, reading the words we weave from our own world. For some of us, it is simply an escape from reality into a world in which we can use our imaginations to dream make-believe or to live our secret fantasies or just plain be creative.

Getting on the web gives us more ways to share and get connected to other people with the same kind of thinking from across the ocean. Some of the people we meet along the way give us reasons to smile again. It's where we become friends, get to know them well, and get so close that we even trust them enough to share our own greatest fears.

I was a living a kind of living death when I found solace here on Stories Space. A place to write, camouflaging my hatred and sadness from myself when I was reading all the poetry and fictional fantasies created by the writers. I found another escape from reality and indulged in reading.

My feelings from my own troubles in life had made me feel so empty that only through laughter and reading could I be free and somewhat whole again.

I made my own heaven in purgatory.

A friend told me to write down all of my pains and troubles in poems or stories. Another friend of mine told me to be fierce in my poetry writing. I found friends who helped me give my own life a reason to continue living again through writing.

Writing makes me calm every time my mind gets into a panic mode. The pains and the fears of the unknown are my muses for writing.

When I met someone who understood me and made me feel needed and loved my poetry changed its tune. It made me think of happy thoughts. I got inspired by the things I saw and the happy memories of my childhood that I could write about.

Painful memories and realities were always there and so I wrote about them from time to time.

When that someone left me I continued writing. The same inner muse I had gained I used to keep on writing.

Then, out of nowhere, I got to know you. I became happy again. This time I got even more inspired and more creative, experimenting with my writings.

I set aside my shyness and reservations to write creatively. I still can't overcome some of my shyness and reservation but I am blooming, inspired by you.

You became my muse.

The man in the moon. The stars in my darkest hours. When at night I can't sleep thinking of you calms me to sleep.

The sunshine after the heavy storm. Where all the dead trees come to life again. That keeps me warm when everything gets chilly.

My own little heaven in my real life purgatory.

Yixin was Meng Fan's editor-in-chief. Even the unsigned "Guide to Campus RoMANce" was managed by his team. No need to mention how good Meng Fan's drawing skills and painting style were; it went without saying. Of course, it's weird how visible the difference was in his level in the previous serialized comics and in what they were looking at now. However, the better the paintings, the better. No matter how strange it was, you can't question it face to face.
What's the use of questioning anyways, other than not allowing people to improve? It's only that this progress was really great, that's all.
The deputy editor-in-chief and the others had also seen Meng Fan's comics and knew about Meng Fan's drawing skills, so after unfolding the sketches, even though they could see the beauty of the world, they weren't as amazed as Goro Takahashi and others.
But after looking at the paintings, they moved on to storyline and character design, and their eyes lit up again.
Three scenes was obviously not much, but they saw Meng Fan's skillfulness in screenwriting and mirroring.
After reading, their first thought was 'Why did it end so quickly?' and a desire for continuation.
Looking back, there were already scenes which stuck in their minds and couldn't be easily erased, they left such a deep mark and a profound memory.
Like the tip of the iceberg, the world structure was revealing itself slowly; not much was said. These two characteristics were enough to guarantee a good comic.
Looking again at the outline and the pictures, it was clear that Meng Fan put a lot of effort into preparation of this comic.
Yixin, the deputy editor-in-chief, and others took their eyes from the sketches to look at Meng Fan and picked up the topic.
The deputy editor-in-chief was a man surnamed Zhu, who was probably in his forties, and looked very fierce and serious.
"Mr. Meng, please allow me to ask you a question first. Yesterday, a fight happened in Japan. Many people know that you were involved, including the Japanese. May I ask, what does Kodansha think of this?"
Not waiting for Meng Fan to answer, he added: "I don't mean nothing bad by this. It is about whether you can sign a contract with Kodansha and whether the comics can be serialized in the magazine published by Kodansha. This is also related to the contract between us. On the other hand, I could give the copyrights for Japan to Kodansha and the copyrights for Huaxia to you. In practice, it would lead to both sides not needing to interact very often. Meng Fan listed the very simple contents of the contract he had prepared before and proceeded to persuade deputy editor-in-chief Zhu and said: "I will give you the copyrights to the series uploaded on Chinese websites, offprint publications, works of creative co-workers, and audios. I want to keep the rest of the copyrights, such as film or tv series adaptation rights. For copyrights concerning games and animation, I am very happy to cooperate with Penguin Animation Network."
Deputy editor-in-chief Zhu heard him out, kept frowning, muttered for a moment, and at last said: "Actually, you can authorize all other copyrights to us. After all, the resources we can provide are much larger than yours, and we can find better buyers for you. Taking profit into consideration, we are the best choice."
Meng Fan shook his head with a smile.
"This is indeed true from the perspective of income, but income is not the biggest priority for me."
Meng Fan didn't say that he didn't care about money at all.
"I also want to earn something, but I don't want my work's purpose to be just making money and nothing more. So, I really care about whether I can make decisions. Of course, I may not be able to succeed in the end. But well, it always feels more comfortable to destroy something with one's own hands. As for the resources you mentioned, I can actually find them; but obviously it won't be as convenient for me as it is for your big company."
All authors attached great importance to copyrights, especially after the negotiations had been established. Naturally, they wanted as much copyright as possible to stay in their hands. The profit was of secondary importance. It wasn't just acclaimed writers like Meng Fan or Mr. Sleepy but an overwhelming majority of authors. Basically everyone thought so, but sometimes it just wasn't realistic. It's just that not many people were willing to exchange the control over their work for little money.
Of course, it's the same with negotiations. At the beginning, everyone would be hesitant to give up their property, but they would also need to give themselves room for bargaining and compromise.
In the end, Meng Fan insisted on his initial conditions and signed a cooperation agreement with Penguin Animation Network similar to the one signed with Kodansha and also authorized several copyrights; for example, copyrights for comic spin-offs and novel adaptations. As for movie adaptations and games, the rights stayed in Meng Fan's hands.
As for animation rights, although they are still in Meng Fan's hands for now, Meng Fan might wait until Kodansha's representative comes over to discuss with the three parties.
The same contract was initially drafted, and neither party signed it.
Meng Fan contacted Takahashi Goro for explanation. Takahashi Goro called again soon after hanging up the phone. Kodansha was sending him and a close personnel to come to Huaxia tomorrow.
When Yixin and the deputy editor-in-chief heard about it, they decided not to go back but to stay in the city and wait for the Kodansha employees. If everything went well, they would sign the contract.
Meng Fan offered them a lift to the hotel. FlatHeadBro, who was still there, said that he would help Meng Fan and drive Yixin and the rest to the hotel.
Qin Jiaodao also came by car, but if she was to pick them up, they would have had to cram in her car, which couldn't be compared with FlatHeadBro's spacious Land Rover.
"Is writing a novel so profitable nowadays?"
The previous time, what Meng Fan saw as FlatHeadBro's saddled horse might have been a little donkey. FlatHeadBro unexpectedly stated that he had a car; it was just that at daytime, it was more convenient to get coffee and milk tea and operate a little electric stove. In the evening though, it appeared appropriate to drive to Jieyan. He hadn't expected that it was a Land Rover worth more than one million dollars. 
Zhang Zhouwei, being right next to him, said with jealousy: "Whether or not does writing a novel make money — that, I do not know. However, what I do know is that FlatHeadBro is a suburban nouveau riche. It is said that making a fortune overnight is a daydream, something of very low probability. However, in China, something like that not only isn't a daydream; it's pretty common. It reminds me of places like Hangzhou with its households scheduled to be resettled — at least one to ten thousand of them. If the area is a little better, they will definitely not stop."
Having seen that Meng Fan unexpectedly had put on an expression of jealousy, Zhang Zhouwei immediately distanced himself: "You jealous dummy!"
Meng Fan said: "I am not jealous of the resettlement, I am just thinking whether or not I must buy a car too."
Zhang Zhouwei kept teasing around: "What car are you going to buy? Where do you want to go? Just go on foot!"
"Brother Meng, you're back!"
Meng Fan was about to turn around and go back to the studio as it was a little cold outside. There was a man running anxiously from the other side of the road; it was Charlie.
Meng Fan supposed that Charlie parked his car nearby and asked him, laughing: "Charlie, are you going to the studio this late?"
"It's great that you're here!"
"Are you busy right now? There is this last-minute work at the studio; moreover, it's related to Di Dao. I rushed here, although I have already finished work. There is this movie, a DreamWorks animated motion picture with Mandarin dubbing. We've got some stuff to do at last! If you're not busy, come with me to see it." 
Meng Fan thought for a while and came to a conclusion that it was no big deal. Wu Tong would probably assume he hasn't yet finished the meeting; furthermore, after signing a contract with The Chocolate Factory and getting rid of the "leeches," he didn't ever go out. He also felt kind of guilty, so he just nodded and said: "You go first; I will join you in a minute".
Of course, he was interested in that dubbing project, it was a valid point. 
"Ok, ok."
Charlie rubbed his hands. In the courtyard, Zhang Zhouwei and some other people were laughing and greeting each other then quickly moved toward The Chocolate Factory. The day was getting more and more cold indeed.


To reward Meng Fan for his bravery before his heroic death, the cosmos rewarded him with a 'system', sending him back in time to three months ago, alive.

I am sitting the game system, in discord...  I just need suggestions cuz my brain is closed... PLZ HELP!  
I finished writing the basics of the EXP system, and now stuck in the elemental system (almost done, but need some creative ideas!)
