The library was an old three-story building that use to be a factory. It was donated over fifty years ago. And was one of the older building in the area. It had been updated in the last few years with new walls, stairs, and wiring. However, they had kept the worn wood floors and it still had a cool, well-used and comfortable feel to it.

She walked over to the front counter where the librarian, Mrs. Chen, sat working on the computer.

"Hello, Lina. I heard you finally got assigned independent study. It took those kooks up in the English department long enough, heh?"

"You're telling me. I didn't know how many more of those idiots I could take without counseling." She thought about how that could be taken for a moment. "The students, that is, Mrs. Chen."

"Sure. Your class time doesn't start until tomorrow, so I assume you're here for your book."

"It finally came in?!"

She smiled and reached beneath the counter.

"Just this morning. Blood by GRAY."She shook her head but handed her the book. "Sometimes I wonder if I should be worried about you."

Lina laugh. The game and the book was sort of along the same vane but different. The book focuses more on how one could tell if you could make potions in real life. That is if you had blood. The author of the book offer list and guilds on taking a potion from a game and make money.

"Shoo, now," she said, waving her hands. "You're terrible."

She took the book and walked to the back corner of the room where the wide oak stairs led up to the second floor and her special reading spot. She ran her hand up the smooth banister as she walked up, loving the feel of the cool wood. The library had always been a quiet spot she had used to think and relax since she had come to the college three years ago. She used it to get away from all of the whispers and names.

At the top of the stairs, she walked through the maze of books to a dimly lit far corner. The shelves formed a natural hallway that prevented anyone from seeing the corner unless they actually walked through. It held a large beige chair big enough for two and a standing light next to it. She never worried about anyone being there because the idiots on campus barely walked through the reference books on the first floor, let alone the second floor where most of the romance, fiction, mystery, horror, fantasy, and science fiction books were held.

She set her bag on the floor beside the chair and plopped down, pulling her legs up under her. She didn't need the light yet, so she opened her new book and began reading.

The sun is right above our heads, shining it's radiance like a crazy diamond. It's high noon, and the square was packed with people looking forward to today's trial, honestly these people were either lacking in entertainment, or they have nothing to do. Looks like my plan to build schools and libraries needs to take precedence, sadly I am lacking in both qualified educators and books. Unlike some other person who came here with 'photographic memories of books' that he could literally write down many books without any semblance of mistake, I am just a normal guy here. So for that plan of mine to work, I need some kind of help from the heavens.

While I am sitting here in the judge seat while rambling inside my head, the convicts were called out one by one, and no, there should be no magical girls here. Yep, no magical girls, I am so disappointed right now. Only buff, rough, men.

"They're all heretics caught by the church, my Lord. Please give them fitting judgement." Said one of the many beautiful wardens.

Honestly, were these ladies okay handling a prison full of rough men? Why were my wardens, in a medieval fantasy setting all female? I will never know.

"What do you have to say for yourselves?" I asked.

"Nothing. We live by the code, and die by the code." Said one the meanest looking person there.

Good, now they're speaking cryptic, what a great day. Nothing was going right for me ever since I came here.

"So, what code is that?" I asked.

"On behalf of the moon, we will right wrongs and triumph over evil! WE ARE THE SAILOR SOLDIERS!" they all shouted. 

At this point, my expectations are very very low. But this bunch managed to get it even lower. So I, as a cultured man, stood up and went into a fabulous pose.

"Good grief." I said, in a deep cool voice. 

Looks like even in this world, I have to jack up my sweet body too (to get that rectangular body shape fitting for poses).

"Rerorerorerorerorero" One of them seems to test me.

"Noriaki, may he rest in cherries." I answered confidently.

"Road Roller." It seems they are not believing me yet.

The World." So I answered again.

"What a beautiful city." Oh, that's a good one.

"Duwang, you mean?" As I was saying that, I stood up from the judge's seat, went up to the execution platform, used my sword to cut the rope binding these newfound friends of mine.

"My Lord! What are you doing??!?!?? Those are heretics branded by the church!!!" One of the wardens shouted, unsheathing her sword.

"I am freeing them, I found no mistakes are with them." I answered.

"If you freed them, then you are also a heretic, bind them up again to show us you are not." Said one of the lasses from the warden team.

I whispered to the guys, to give them knowledge of how to run away, as gramps already guessed my intention and gave me a piece of paper where the full map of the country and sewers connecting it were laid bare .

"Choose now Lord, choose the right choice and you may retain your status. Choose wisely." 

Looks like I am right in questioning why my wardens were all female. Looks like they're with the so called church.

"If I have to choose, then I choose them." I jumped down from the back of the execution platform, right down into the sewers. 

Well, of course I'm the first one to jump down the manhole. Every man for himself, I won't sacrifice my life for a bunch of burly men (otakus). And I need some way to wash away all influence from myself.

The adventure starts now.

it would take too much time to travel all Remnant (thats how RWBY world is called) with a normal bullhead so Lucifer did some "upgrading" that will help him get the job done faster.

'heh reading all those books about technology wasnt a waste at all....'

with just a flip of a switch the bullhead easily broke the sound barrier and flew into the direction of Vacuo. after switching into auto-pilot Lucifer stood up and saw that the rest of his "team" was having trouble with the speed of the bullhead so he helped them by using some nice old magic :D...the solution to all problems!

when they finally could move again the first thing that Lucifer heard was the cries of agony from Jaune as he proceeded to vomit his breakfast and the moans of pain from the rest

Lucifer: sorry... i think i should have warn you a bit earlier...

Weiss: you think?!

Lucifer: ...oops?

Weiss: Ruby hold me before i smack him in that perfect face of his!

Blake: you mentioned something about magic relics?

said Blake as she tried to defuse the possible fight that could happen if this goes on

Lucifer: yes, in every huntsmen school there is a vault with a relic that is magic in origin

Nora: oh! that's so cool!! what relic is in Vacuo??

probably the most dangerous of the relics if he had to be honest (A/N: once again this relic power was not mentioned in the show so i will make up the effect)

the relic is a sword that can release deadly energy slashes that will slowly start destroying everything that it makes contact with (basically a "hakai" from DBS but slower) not gonna lie he wanted that sword so bad that it was the reason he was going to Vacuo first...i mean...who wouldnt want a cool magic sword?? a idiot thats who!

he also told this to team RWBY and JNPR...why? easy...why not?? they cant do anything that will become an inconvenience for him with the knowledge of the relics so why would he keep it a secret?? plus it was funny to see their reactions ;)

most of them swallowed the saliva in their mouth but there were a couple exceptions. 

Yang was one of them...of course she would be...when she was listening to the relic power she was grinning like crazy while in her head she was asking herself if its to late to take some sword fighting lessons

Jaune was more amazed then scary and in his head he pictured himself with the Blade in hands as thousands of dead Grimm are behind him dead

Chapter 4:
I Even Exist







I stared blankly at the colorful bird perched on the computer screen. Even after talking about magic with a computer screen, watching a library start to collapse as all the books came to life and some great blackness stealing away all the words from my mind, I still haven't lost my common sense. Yet.

"How~?"

"I'm a Pagemaster that retired thirty years ago. I'm not allowed to interfere in YOUR job outside of teaching ye how to do it. So my spirit is emplaced in this body so I can give you good and proper aid while not babying you like a half-grown little pansy."

I nodded slightly, looking down apologetically as I received his bereavements and scathing rebukes.

"When I saw the five of you out there I was wondering what the ol' gal was thinking but I never though' ye would be daft enough to try and create a world before I could even tell ye what was going on. Much less drop it on our heads."

"I'm sorry."

"Well, we can set this all well and good easy-peasy-lemon-squeezy. What world did ye summon boy?"

I look up, hoping that perhaps there was an easy way to fix this. "Ummm... Fantasy."

"Which one?"

"Just... Fantasy."

He looked at me in horror and my heart faltered. "Ye mean to say…. Ye didn't pick any one world... Ye picked every blooming one of them? Do ye know how many fantasy worlds stories are out there! Ye just gone and unleashed everything out in one big ol' world. This is worse than Atlantis finding out… This is… this is…"

He slumped down with a sigh. "We need to get ye trained as fast as possibl' the entire world is in deep trouble. All those conflicting worlds and tales, The world will collapse on itself if we don't stop it. And the Silence… The Word won't be able to hold it back."

"What is the Silence and The Word?"

"The Silence, is evil in its utmost and complete form. The end of all things, the antithesis of reason and thought and form. It's not even chaos, because Chaos has its own rhyme and flow. It is nothing, a blackness that houses a desire to be nothing. It will destroy all it touches if it is allowed free reign, but first, it has to destroy The Word to do such a thing, but that is nigh-impossible.

"The Word. There is only one way to explain it. 'In the Beginning, there was The Word, and The Word was God. And The Word was with God.'"

"So the Silence is the Anti-God?"

Clarion laughs. "Hah, that's a good one... It wishes it had such power. An Anti-God…. He is simply nothing."

Ruffling his feathers Clarion looks straight at me. "But it doesn't mean he isn't a threat to us mortals. He's out to make sure that as many of us as he can succumb to Silence instead of heeding to the Power of The Word."

"So what are we supposed to do about that?"

"We are the guardians of The Word. To ensure that no matter what the world will not forget what strength our greatest weapon is against the Silence. Knowledge. Learning. Imagination. Without these, man is nothing but animals without hope for better futures.

"We protect the stories, the strength, and the foundation of our lives. In exchange, we can use The Word's power to instill ourselves with the strength to fight the Silence. Use words to their fullest meaning to stretch beyond ordinary boundaries.

"And in exchange, we can venture into other worlds of our creation to train and practice. And even to enjoy ourselves getting lost in a book almost literally. Though right now, the books are all getting lost in our world. Or what is left of it." He makes a noise which I guess was him clearing his little bird throat.

"We can discuss more later. This darkness is getting me agitated and I would enjoy not starting to molt from stress though y've certainly given me plenty of it. Now. Stand up and let's fix the problem."

I climbed unsteadily to my feet, a sore backside thanking and reprimanding me for sitting so long inside that chair. The light from the screen wasn't enough to properly see anything by, I was quite thankful that there was a floor to even stand on.

"Take a deep breath and focus ye-self. I want ye to picture a spellcasting item. Wand, staff, amulet. Whatever ye wish to make it look like."

I close my eyes and picture a simple staff for spell casting.

"Now, make sure that ye also picture the proper size of everything about ye implement. The less abstract the better. Focus and bring it to life in ye mind, hold out ye hand and make like ye are trying to grasp it in reality."

I nodded without opening my eyes, picturing the length and width of the staff in comparison to myself holding out my hand reaching out and trying to feel as if I could touch the smooth silvery-blue staff. I jump for a second as I feel metal actually in the palm of my hand and open my eyes.

"Well done. Well done." I could hear the smile in his voice as Clarion watched me summon my first staff.

It was fairly simple if a bit wobbly, parts of the staff were bigger or smaller but overall it was holding its shape quite well. I could tell for myself that there were still flaws in its creation. "Being able to summon a staff with so few problems is quite an achievement for a first try. Soon ye will be able to make it perfect in a split second."

"Am I stuck with just this design?"

"Not at all. Ye can redesign and mold it al to ye whims in how ye want it to look. In fact, I'm also impressed ye didn't try for some fancy do-dad like a gun wand."

"After everything else going wrong I didn't want to have something blow up in my face."

Clarion laughed and nodded his head slightly. "Now then let's get this darkness cleared away and see what we have to work on training for ye. The words are quite simple." He uttered the words and I felt a little silly that I hadn't thought of the answer to this before summoning him. Perhaps if I had been a little more patient with myself, I would have figured it all out on my own.

I tried the spell but my wand merely sputtered and shone for a brief second. "Just have to try a little harder, just like how you summoned the staff. Ye need to focus and let the magic flow through it, not ye body. Y're just sending ye own mana willy-nilly."

I nod, trying to focus, closing my eyes and begin channeling the magic through the wand, at least trying to, imagining pushing something through my arm into the staff. "Stop stop! Ye are trying to force it and it's just going to break something' if ye keep going at it like that. Channeling ye mana through ye body needs to come naturally. Trying to do it the other way will just get ye… well think of it like trying to stuff a bottle of soda with more soda,"

I'm not sure how to picture that except that the bottle would explode and shudder at the idea of my hand flying away from my arm like a bottle rocket of shaken soda. "So.. naturally?"

"Aye. Picture a river flowing inside ye, yer mana just swims around and around like yer blood, ye skin is the dam that keeps it all inside of you.the space where you wand and hand met, I want ye to imagine opening the gates right there and letting the river start to flow in that direction get used to letting it flow use yer instincts on how much or little ye should provide."

I listen to his words, starting to get a feel of the magic inside me flowing softly, letting it flow into the wand as I released the floodgates between my palm and the cool metal, watching it glow and slowly gain strength as I continued to add magic power feeling it starting to warm up. Clarion fluttered his wings almost clapping. "Much better. Much better. We've got some ways to go but we will make ye a Pagemaster yet. Now, cast that spell and give us purchase from this gloom and doom shadow."

Raising my staff as I poured a little more magic into it, just to be sure, I moved the chair aside and waggled the long staff with a distinct cry of victory.

"Let there be Light!" And then there was light.

'I am so tired' Stumbling through the front door of a small two bedroom apartment was our hero for this tale. A small beep snapped her out of her daze, with her monitor flashing a small window stating that her installation was complete. Excitement swelled as she quickly made hey way to the bathroom and finished preparing for a few hours of gaming into the night. Just a short ten minutes later, a freshly showered Anna sat on her bed holding the glasses like they were a family heirloom. Tracing the sides of the glasses she felt out the etched in name, N - O - R - A. On the box she remembered the name explained to mean neural operations and reality adjuster. While she was not sure how the device worked in full detail, she knew that it regulated the neural network of the body to prevent movement that would cause harm to the body. Due to this feature it took an additional three years of development and testing before it was allowed to allow public testing during the Beta phase of Heavens fall.
    Fidgeting while watching her clock, Anna was waiting for the game to officially release at 4:00pm, so she could log in. At 3:59pm she could no longer bear the wait, so she slipped her device over her head and laid down in her bed. Seeing the digital clock in the corner of her vision she felt a bit silly to have watched her clock before. Shortly after this discovery the last minute ticked over and with a small beep the glasses slowly lit up, including a display across the lens. With the light came a scrolling bar with small boxes attached to it, and at the end was a slightly larger green square. When her gaze drifted to it, it expanded slightly and displayed the cover art for Heavens Fall. The shadowy back of several figures stood in front of a setting sun, with diversity being the striking feature.
    For Anna, the most noticeable of the figures would be three giant figures with different shapes. The first was a large hunched over shadow of what seemed to be a bear, with comically large ears. Standing next to it was a large jagged humanoid figure that appeared to be shards of something? It was a bit hard to discern details due to them being shadows, but it clearly had jagged edges and large crevasses running through it. The third and last of the giant figures was the smallest of the giants, but making up for its lack of height was a pair of giant wings. Perched atop its broad shoulders was a large head of a cobra facing to the side, casting a distinct silhouette. Most of the other figures seemed to be standard fantasy races, with a few short beings and humanoid races. Although her personal favorite had to be the very clear elf with large ears and flowing hair, but that was mostly due to her love for fantasy elves.
    Underneath the art was a small line of text reading "Heavens Fall - Start", which as Anna read in the manual was the start command for the games on the Nora gear. Trying, and failing, to settle her nerves Anna gave in to her childish excitement and quickly whispered "Heavens Fall - Start". She thought her entrance to her new distraction would be filled with flashing lights and excessive particle effects. Instead, she felt herself slowly slip into a relaxing sleep as her vision darkened.
   


 
A queasy feeling overtook Anna as she suddenly fell to her knees inside of a bright white space and fought to keep herself from vomiting. As she was suffering from nausea she heard the soft ring of a bell, and as the sound faded the nausea left with it. Glancing upwards from the strange white floor she noticed a new feature of the room, a large blue holographic display. While a form of holographic displays had been created decades prior, the sci-fi holographic computers were never invented. But hovering in front of her was just that, a floating blue screen with a single circle in the middle. Deciding to forsake caution she reached forwards and tapped the screen, which felt like she pressed her finger to a cool pane of glass. Rapidly expanding the circle let out a slight ding and revealed a painting small green dragon with golden accents with tiny wings. With ripples of silver light the painting came to life, and the dragon leapt straight out of it and landing in front of her!
    Anna fell backwards in shock, despite preparing herself for a world of fantasy having a dragon, albeit a small one, jump out at her was crazy. Yet it was also so cool! Anna spent most of her time in school fantasizing about books she had read, or movies she had seen. Before she could lose herself in another tangent however, the small dragon spoke, it sounded like a young child with no discernible gender and yet it also sounded like an old man at the same time.


    "Greetings Annabel, I am the Artificial Intelligence Virtual Assistant, also known as Aiva, designated to provide assistance during the time you spend playing Heavens Fall. Would you like to ask any questions, or would you prefer to jump straight into the character creation and tutorial?"
    After taking a few seconds to process that the Dragon was speaking, she remembered that this was a fantasy game after all. Despite racking her brain trying to think of questions to ask this artificial intelligence, she was drawing a blank. Previously while she daydreamed about fantastical adventures she would always have a question or cool sounding remark at the tip of her tongue. But now that the moment finally arrived, she had nothing.


          Seconds later Anna lamely said "I don't have any questions at the moment. . . wait, how do you know my name?"


    A hearty chuckle came from the dragon, before it started to give a small speech to Anna. "It is all right, you can ask more questions later if you need to. To answer how I know your name, your account name is used to personalize the experience for the player. You can set a nickname for systems to refer to you as, should using your name prove to be a problem. Would you care for me to stop?"  After thinking about it Anna shook her head since she didn't care much about it, it was just a bit surprising. 
     "Excellent, Hopefully my next explanation will shed light on the unanswered questions lurking within your mind. The world you are about to enter is named Lesprana, given the name of the goddess of life due to the rich and diverse life found on the planet Speaking of her, she is part of twelves gods which are called the gods of realms. This is because each one commands a separate realm, from which other powers stem. In this reality, most gods were formed from excess energy released by these twelve gods. Once the power entered the planes of existence they would be considered minor deities. Entities on the various planes of existence would often unknowingly shape these deities into the forms they believe each god would fit. If two separate cultures worshiped a god of fire, they would each form an aspect of fire into their form of that deity.
    Under the gods of realms sit the Parthenon, where major gods are placed due to their power and position within different cultures. These major gods are more specialized in their powers compared to the twelve gods above them. The god of Fire or the god of Earth would be some examples. The gods are then divided into Parthenon based on the cultures that have faith within them, an example would be the Greeks and the Romans in the real world. The Greek Parthenon existed beforehand, however due to the spreading influence of Rome, when they decided to change the forms of the gods, it worked. Hades became Pluto, and all his traits and powers changed to match the new belief of him.
    Sitting at the bottom of true deities are the minor gods, these are numerous and some barely have form and exist more as a rough idea than anything. This category is the most specific of all gods, with the god of Deer or Wine fitting in well. While they can not hold a candle to the power of higher deities, these gods are vital for the world to operate normally. Each one a cog in a much grander machine, one that they do not fully understand.
    Finally you have the formless deities, also known as false deities, or according to some mortal researchers, the eggs of the divine. A silly name right? Well they were not entirely wrong with their guess, these beings are not conscious in the way we associate with the word. Instead, they operate on faith and the orders of higher beings. Zones were created to channel these unguided beings towards a purpose of achieving godhood through maintaining the physical plane and interactions with mortals.
    Enough about the gods already then, I went on a bit of a rant there which I must apologize for. Let us both take a deep breath. In. . . and out. . . Perfect. Now that we are ready to continue, let us talk about what you will be dealing with, the rest can be found by exploring and playing! Besides the gods there are a few general categories of beings that exist. The group you will join at the start of your adventure are the mortals. These include the fantasy staples of humans, dwarves, elves, and more! At the start of the game only mortal races will be available for character selection. Opportunities are there for you to earn blood rights to other races, however these are rare or offer only portions of the power within.
    The second and quite a common category are known as monsters. These have further categories that are irrelevant at the moment, however think of griffins and dragons and you will have the main idea. Most of these races came about from magic corrupting and twisting a normal creature into a strong and cunning monster.
    Swapping over to the creatures of this world, they are similar to your world! You have wolves and deer or prairie dogs and weasels. These are still dangerous despite how trivial they might sound because of the surrounding monsters.
    The final topic for right now that you need to know is how the system is set up. Just like other games you have stats and attributes, all of which will be displayed in your character page. Oh! right, first you should know about that, you can open your menu by thinking of "Open Menu". This is a highly advanced system, it uses the Nora virtual reality glasses to track your brain's activity to detect if you are thinking about activating the menu. Once the menu is open you can simply look and think of changes and it will occur. Otherwise, just in case you would prefer a more hands on approach, you can touch one of your starting gifts "Character Crystal" which will open a holographic display such as the one I was displayed within.
    My apologizes, I got sidetracked once again there. In your menu you can select your character page and it will open to four separate tabs named as the status page, attribute page, equipment page, and the proficiency page. The status tab will show you your current health, mana, stamina, and any negative or positive effects on your character. Attributes will show you the six main attributes and any additional attributes you discover, as well as the effects of your attributes. The equipment page is self-explanatory, it will show you any equipment you have, but it also has a shortcut to the inventory and allows you to create sets of equipment to swap between. The final tab will be the proficiency page, which is where you will see your progress in any skill that can gain proficiency. This is more complicated than the others tabs, because most attacks, equipment, and spells in the game have profiencies so it will be large. As such we have tried to allow personalized sorting to allow you to ensure that you can find whichever ones you want quickly.
    Well, this is the basic information given to players before character customization. You will learn more about the playable races and classes during the next phase. After that you will enter the tutorial where any relevant information will be explained and how to seek knowledge for yourself is opened. Do you have any questions before we send you off to your creation phase? The dragon finally finished his long-winded explanation, and Anna was still reeling trying to understand everything that he had said. Before she could try to think of a question to ask the dragon smacked a claw into his head and suddenly spoke up once again, "My apologizes, I forgot that you can ask an assistant in the game for questions, and they will answer if they are able. They are unable to answer questions about specific quests, locations, entities, or anything in that nature. Instead, they will answer broad subjects or information that you have previously assessed." Now finally finished he laid down on the floor and watched her.


    "Um, I think that I can ask my questions later than?" Anna decided with the newest information to think of her questions for later instead of rushing one out now.


    "Excellent! Let us have you on your way now, enjoy your new world and remember to sto - - -" Starting off with a smiling face, the dragon suddenly shifted to a grave expression as he issued what sounded like an ominous warning to her! Unfortunately as he started talking the white space was slowly filled with black triangles that meshed together turning the white world black and he vanished. Before a small blue light appeared in front of her with three words written in a cyan color.
