Kinabukasan, nakita ko siya sa labas ng Audio Visual Room ng College of Art and Sciences. Doon gaganapin ang quiz show. Hinihintay niya siguro 'yung mga kasama niya. Nasa loob na 'yung mga kaklase ko pero 1:30 PM pa naman ang simula ng quiz show. Tumabi ako sa kanya.

"Hey. Nakapag-review ka ba?"

"Oy, ikaw pala 'yan kuya. Yeah, salamat sa reviewer." Sagot niya habang tumitingin siya sa baba. Pinapanood niya ang mga estudyanteng busy sa baba. May lumakad sa gitna ng building ng CAS biglang nagpalakpakan ang mga estudyante.

"Bakit sila pumapalakpak?" wala sa sariling tanong niya

"Nakasanayan na kapag may dumadaan diyan pinapalakpakan. Pang-asar lang." sagot ko sa kanya.

"Weird." 'yun na lang ang sinabi niya tsaka pumasok sa AVR.

Pumasok na rin ako sa AVR para makipagreview sa mga kasama ko. Every college ay may representative para sa quiz show and open for everyone naman. Ang CBEA ang may pinakamaraming delegates kasi every program yata ay meron sila. Nalaman kong Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management ang course niya. Nagsimula na ang quiz show, three rounds siya. Easy, Average at difficult rounds. Dahil medyo marami kami ay elimination ang nangyari. Ang top 10 sa easy round ay ang makakapasok sa average round. Ang top 5 naman sa average round ang makakapasok sa difficult round. Three groups ang mananalo. Nakapasok ang team ko at team nila Ailyn sa difficult round. 

"Question No. 9, this multiple comparison procedure test is applicable for comparing J-1 means with a control group mean." Inulit nang proctor ang question, "Times up, raise your boards. The correct answer is Dunett Method." Announce ulit neto, "Board numbers 5 and 10 got the correct answer." 

Napatingin ako sa gawi nila Ailyn, leading kami ng five points sa kanila. Kung tama nila ang last question ay tabla na ang scores namin pero kapag nakuha namin 'yun at mali sila ay kami na ang magiging champion sa quiz show na 'to.

"For the last question, it is a measure of the relative peakedness of its curve." 

"Times up, raise your boards." Announce na nang proctor. Kinakabahan na ako kasi hindi kami sure sa sagot namin. Tumingin ako sa gawi nila Ailyn at nakangiti ito na mukhang sure na sure sila sa sagot nila. Fuck. Hindi kami pwedeng matalo sa mga freshmen. Competitive kaming mga taga-COE kasi simula pa lang ay ang college na namin ang palaging nakakakuha ng champion sa Statistics quiz show.

We raise our boards. Kinakabahan ako kasi baka tama rin sila. Sure na kami sa sagot namin this time kasi 'yun din ang recent discussion sa Stat23 namin. "The correct answer is Reject Ho" 

The quiz master chuckled while reading the answer of Ailyn's group. "ANOVAng PROBLEM" basa ne'to. Natawa na kaming lahat na nasa AVR. Siniko ng lalaking kasama nila si Ailyn dahil nakayuko na ito dahil siguro sa hiya, mukhang siya ang nagsulat ng kanilang sagot. Inangat niya ang kanyang tingin tsaka ngumiti at nag-peace sign. She's cute. She's fucking cute. Ang sarap ibulsa at inuwi na lang. 

Awarding na, "Third place, CBEA-BS Accountancy, 2nd place, CBEA-BSBA MM, and our back-to-back champion COE-Civil Engineering." Everyone congratulated us. Maraming kumausap pa sa amin kaya di ko na napansin kong umalis na ba sila Ailyn, I want to congratulate her pero bigo akong makita na sila kaya I texted her.

To: Ailyn Joyce

Congrats! Galing niyo. ANOVAng problem hahahahaha

Hinintay ko siyang magreply pero umabot na nang gabi pero wala pa rin siyang reply. Nagbabakasakaling makita ko siya sa dorm inaya kong tumambay sila Justin sa stone table sa may guard house. Nakipagkwentuhan ako sa guard pero sinegway ko na ang mag-browse sa logbook ng girls. Nakita ko na logbook na nagpunta sila sa may Mangga. Mangga ang tawag namin sa karinderya na malapit sa dom dahil may malaking mango tree doon. 20 minutes kaming tumambay at nakipagkwentuhan sa guard house ng makita ko silang palapit na doon. Kasama niya 'yung friend niya namaliit at iyong first year din na lalaki na Electrical Engineering ang degree program nakabuhat ito nang jag na blue na lagayan ng tubig sa dorm. Pinanood ko lang silang nagtatawanan at nagkukwentuhan. Nagsulat na sila sa logbook nang magpaalam 'yung lalaki sa guard namin.

"Sir, dadalhin ko lang ko sa building ng girls 'yung tubig nila." Paalam nung lalaki.

"Sige, huwag kang magtatagal."

"Thank you, sir." Si Ailyn na ngayon ang nagsalita.

Pumasok na ako dahil na-badtrip na sa nakita. Inabala ko na lang ang sarili ko para gumawa ng plates ko. Hindi ako pwedeng madistract na lang dahil sa isang freshman na wala naman pakialam sa akin. Hindi pwedeng dahil lang sa konting interaction niya with other boys ay mawawala na ako sa sariling wisyo dahil sa selos.Wtf!? Selos? Ako magseselos, oh no, hindi pwede ito.

Hindi ako mapakali, iniisip ko pa rin 'yung ngiti niya habang kasama'yung lalaking 'yun. I don't remember seeing them together until now. Ang nakikita ko ay si Faye, iyong maingay na lagi niyang kasama, ang laging kasama 'nung John. This is very frustrating. Sa kakaisip ko naitulog ko na lang din.

Kinaumagahan, wala akong sa mood pero kailangan kong pumasok sa first subject kasi my quiz. Papunta akong canteen nang makita ko si Ailyn doon na umo-order syete-tres. Ang syete-tres sa canteen ay seven pesos na pansit at three pesos na kanin. Ang hiningi niyang toppings ng pansit niya ay dinuguan. Mag-isa siya ngayon. Dinalian ko nang pumasok at nag-order ng ten-five. Same lang din ng kanyang ten pesos lang na pansit tapos five pesos na rice. Ganito usually ang nakikita mong kinakain ng mga estudyante ng university kapag breakfast, kahit saang kaninan. Di na bago 'to. Umupo ako sa harapan niya.

"Hi, good morning." Bati ko sa kanya

"Morning." Tipid niyang sagot 

Hindi na siya umimik ulit mukhang may hihintay pa dahil hindi pa nagsisimulang kumain. Nakita kong pumasok si John at Faye. I regretted not asking her if she has company before seating here. 

"Oh, may kasama ka pala. Sorry, didn't know." 

Tumayo na ako at lilipat na sana sa ibang mesa pero nagsalita siya,

"It's okay. Pang-apatan naman po 'tong table." She smiled assuring.

Nag-order na din ng pagkain 'yung dalawa at umupo na sa table namin.

"Ganda ka?" Makahulugang tanong ni Faye sa kanya.

"Oo. Kaya tigilan mo ako. Hindi nakakatuwa." Masungit na sagot niya sa kanya. 

Tumawa si Faye tsaka tumingin sa akin, "So kuya, what do you think of my friend?"

Tiningnan ko siya hindi alam ang sasabihin. What does she want to hear? Hindi ako sumagot kasi di ko naman alam ang sasabihin kaya pinagpatuloy ko na lang kumain. Pinagpatuloy na din nila ang pagkain pero parang di napapagod si Faye kakasalita ang dami niyang sinasabi sa kanila 'yung dalawa naman ay nakikinig na lang at nagko-comment paminsan-minsan. Magbabayad na sana sila pero sinabi ko nang ako na ang magbabayad.

"Galante talaga ng mga nagiging boys mo 'no?" siko ni Faye kay Ailyn.

"Pinagsasabi mo?" nahihiyang sagot niya sa kaibigan.

"Wala, nevermind. Tara na John. Diba may 8am class ka pa? Salamat sa libre bessywap." hinila na nito ang kaibigan at iniwan si Ailyn sa canteen.

"Sorry about my friend. You don't have to pay for our foods naman but thanks.

"Congrats." Ngiti ko sa kanya

"Thanks. Congrats din." Ngiti niya pabalik, 

"Wala ka pong class?" sabay tingin niya sa relo.

"10 am pa. you?"

"Same." Tipid niyang sagot. 

"May pinag-iipunan ka ba?" tanong ko sa kanya

"Ha?" tipid na sagot niya ulit

"Habaan mo ang sagot mo sa akin, para akong nakikipag-usap sa robot e."

She chuckled, "I don't know what to say, eh."

"Say something pleasant in the ears."

"Something pleasant in the ears." Ulit niya lang sa sinabi ko.

Pucha! Pilosopo ne'to a. Ibubulsa ko na talaga siya pauwi sa room namin tapos papaalisin ko na 'yung mga tao doon.Tinitigan ko na lang siya.

"Huwag kayo dito maglandian, get a room." Si Justin na nasa likuran namin na bibili din ng pagkain.

"Ulol!" Tinaasan ko siya ng middle finger, "Sige sa room natin. Huwag muna kayong umuwi roon." 

"Huwag kang magkalat doon. Kakalinis ko lang ng iba mong kalat." Malisyosong untag nito.

Hindi ko napansin na umalis na pala si Ailyn, dinalian kong lumabas ng canteen pero nakapasok na siya sa building nila. I received a text from her.

From: Ailyn Joyce
I am not flirting with you. I am just being polite kasi nilibre mo kami. Tell your friend not to get the wrong idea kuya.

She was the dream but how can I reach her when she don't want to be fulfilled.

~Back at the University, the dorm NEXT to Easton's~

Light was blocked from the room by thick curtains. There were slender candles placed here and there, illuminating the dark room ominously.

The center of the room was the brightest.

"yaoi...yaoi...yaoi..." (I couldn't think of any cult chantings XD)

Deep chantings filled the solemn air. There was a small crowd of no more than three people. All wearing dark sheets over their heads... due to the budget of not being able to afford cultish cloaks... (you know typical college student problems -_-).

"The Unwanted one has arrived." The largest of the three said with disgust once the chanting was over.

"The Unwanted one..." The other two lackeys repeated in whispery voices.

"What do we do with the unwanted ones?" A sinister intent lay not so hidden in his voice.

"Eradicate them!" Came the simultaneous response. 

Suddenly the light switch flicked on, all three heads whipped towards the entrance to the dorm. A very much scared and traumatized freshman was awkwardly standing there on shaking legs.

"I-I seem the have gotten the wrong room... bye!" Then the door was slammed shut... only to be opened again. The same freshman forgot to turn off the lights.

"Boss... what do we do?" One of the lackeys asked. Their secret society was so secret... that neither do the three of them know the other's identities!

"Eradicate him!"

Then they each left the room one by one, just to make sure that neither sees the other. Only one returned to clean up the mess then proceeded to do the dishes. 

What? It's his dorm!

~Easton's Dorm~

So here's the gist of Easton's day so far:

Arrive to school with identification papers...check
Find dorm...check
Unpack suitcase...somewhat can be checked off
Be friends with dorm mate... OH HELL NO!

Easton flopped onto his now made bed. He only unpacked the bedding necessities... his parents were worried about the creepy crawlies and whatnot.

Let's just say that THAT made his dorm mate have worser impression of him. Oh and right! He never bothered to introduce himself. Easton only learnt his name after seeing the name tag on his side of the room.

Dolan. 

Just Dolan. Is that a first name or a last name? Easton was too tired to find out. Being the spoiled "secret love child" of the family Easton never had to a single chore in his life. 

Not something to be proud of. 

He sat up and tiredly looked at the surroundings. To the right of the door is an opening to a very small and dingy bathroom. Easton was horrified at the thought of no privacy when going to the loo, but fortunately he noticed the sliding door.

To the left of the door is the smallest kitchen Easton ever saw. Lastly, the bedroom space was made smaller by the ridiculous pink duct tape on the floor. Dolan obviously gave Easton the smaller half of the room.

"Not bad for my first day." He said aloud to no one in particular. He didn't have to worry about Dolan overhearing. The latter excused himself once he saw all of the bedding Easton brought.

A small ding from his bag caught Easton's attention. It was Donovan, telling Easton to call as soon as he sees the text message.

"That... brother of mine." He couldn't help but let out chuckle. Naturally Easton dialed his number.

"Easton!" Donovan's voice was urgent.

"What's up cousin?" 

"Have you met anybody yet?"

"Is that what you're so worried about?"

"I'm being serious here!" 

"Okay, okay. Yeah I met someone."

"Oh no I'm too late." Donovan muttered under his breath. Luckily the crappy phone microphone couldn't pick that up. 

"So would you mind telling your big bro here who?" Donovan tried to keep the panic out of his voice. He had been driving himself crazy whether or not to call Easton or not. Pacing around in his room to the point his downstairs neighbors asked him to stop. 

"He's my dorm mate. Not sure if Dolan's a first or last name."

Donovan let out a sigh of relief. Easton hasn't met Maverick yet.

"Alright you stick by me if you want to survive university, understand?"

"Eugh, I can take care of myself."

"...I doubt that very much. Remember to come to the freshmen orientation tonight." Then Donovan hung up with a click.

"The freshman... what?"

"I'm looking forward to it." Lou Cheng became lost in his fantasy.
Lou Cheng put down his phone and looked around. He noticed Zhang Jingye, the Model Worker, carrying his package as he passed by.
"Are you going on a trip with your girlfriend?" Lou Cheng asked with a teasing smile.
"Sure. You too?" Zhang Jingye saw a huge bag on the table.
"Yep. Skipping class this afternoon?" Lou Cheng laughed.
Zhang Jingye found him amazing as he said, "I bet you are not attending class either."
"I am afraid you are right," Lou Cheng answered playfully.
"Aha!" Zhang Jingye replied with a smile as he exited the dorm.
At that moment, Zhao Qiang was putting some books into his bag, and he commented,
"I am so envious of all of you! I have to go to class!"
"Hey, Qiang, you once mentioned an old classmate, didn't you?" Lou Cheng asked him.
During winter break, Zhao Qiang had reconnected with one of his high school classmates who also happened to be a student in Songcheng. They caught up so quickly that Zhao Qiang once announced in the dorm that he was about to take the opportunity and get rid of his single label.
Zhao Qiang coughed and looked shy as he said, "I'm just thinking ..."
"Hey. It takes more than thinking to pursue a girl. You have to give whatever it takes and not be a coward." Lou Cheng sounded serious and then he smiled. "After you've failed enough times, you will get used to it. There is a walking casanova in our neighborhood, you should ask for some advice."
Zhao Qiang sighed, saying, "If I were half as good as you, I would have won the girl's heart already!"
"What can I do if you insist on your opinion?" Lou Cheng shrugged his shoulders. "Nevertheless when I am with Yan Zheke, I am practically nobody, and I mean it."
He then tossed his hair jokingly.
To be honest, Lou Cheng made a substantial breakthrough in regards to his relationship with Yan Zheke because they shared a common experience during the Challenge Tournament of the Warrior Sage, which had been an inspiring and miraculous journey. Lou Cheng's quality and potential had won Yan's heart.
Bravery was necessary when pursuing a girl, but it wasn't enough. After all, any girl being chased after does not have to accept.
"You are right..." Zhao Qiang understood and muttered, "Nevermind. Some adults reminded us to spend more time on studying instead of dating."
"..." Lou Cheng was speechless as he watched Zhao Qiang leave the dorm with his bag.

Seeing Lou Cheng, he put on a smile and asked,
"Cheng, please be honest with me. Can I achieve the Amateur Third Pin before graduation?"
After hard work, for four semesters, Qiu sadly found out that he was not a gifted student. Although he had passed all of the exams, he never ranked in the top 20%, so a scholarship was out. So he started to face the reality and picked up martial arts. He hoped to get a certificate of the Amateur Third Pin to be more competitive in the job market.
"Based on your physique and strength, insist on working out three times a week and we will see," Lou Cheng answered affirmatively.
Qiu Zhigao was exhilarated. Lou Cheng was a master in the college martial arts circle in his mind. If Lou found him OK, it would be OK.
"Alright. If possible, could you give me some advice, or if there is anything I can do that will help, please let me know." Old Qiu was in a rush to the classroom, so he picked up his bag, and took a quick shower in the bathroom.
"Everyone chooses a different path..." Lou Cheng sighed and left the dorm with his bag. He then glanced into the neighboring room and he was astonished with what he saw.
Little Ming was either focusing on studying or writing something.
"What's wrong with you?" Lou Cheng blurted out in confusion.
Cai Zongming raised his head and answered gruffly, "What's wrong with learning? We will have almost a month without school, so I decided to keep up with my studies."
And then he put on a relaxed smile as he said, "Though, Fang Yuan said so..."
"Why don't you go to the classroom?" Lou Cheng asked absently.
"Is there something wrong with studying in the dorm?" Little Ming asked in reply.
"You cannot withstand the temptation of computer games there."
"Actually, phone games are even more popular. I can play wherever I like, even if I don't have a particular place to study." Cai Zongming sounded quite serious.
Lou Cheng retorted, "But the atmosphere in a classroom is different. Everyone else would be studying, and it would be shameful for you to play your phone game."
Cai Zongming replied in disapproval, "Cheng, do you think I am the kind of person who would be influenced by others or the atmosphere? And you think that that would cause me to focus on my studies instead of games?"
"No..." Lou Cheng gave him a thumbs up and then left through the door.

Lou Cheng only had to wait a few minutes outside of the no. 3 dormitory building before he saw his girlfriend come out carrying a new suitcase. She was pretty and elegant, like a fairy from a painting.
Yan Zheke was beautiful when she put on some makeup... Lou Cheng couldn't help but stare, and Yan Zheke felt satisfied as she raised her head.
"Here, let me." Lou Cheng tried to take her suitcase
"Nevermind, you disabled man, I'm fine," Yan Zheke joked.
Lou Cheng laughed, saying, "Seriously? Disabled man?"
"Haha..." Yan Zheke chuckled as she responded, "You have to take my hand!"
Lou Cheng smiled. "It's fine. I can walk and I can take my fairy's hand."
Yan Zheke heard her cell phone ringing as she was about to say something.
"It's my grandpa..." She looked at the screen in puzzlement before she answered, saying, "Hey, Grandpa?"
"Hi, Ke ..." Ji Jianzhang said, while smiling, in his slightly old voice. "Bring Lou Cheng home this holiday so your grandma and I can get to know him."

'I like Liam a lot, but it seems like I'm not ready for him.' I sighed. "Does he like me too? How about Liza?" I looked at my phone and there's a message from James. "What happened? You didn't message me?"

"Im sorry, was held up a little. Still up?"

After five minutes, he replied. "Yeah, can't sleep. I was going to confess to the girl I like earlier, but I think I was turned down."

"Wat?!? 4 real? She sux then! U dont deserve sum1 like her!" 

"Don't say that. By far, she's the best girl I've ever met. I will wait for her until she is old enough to accept me."

"Woah! So loyal! Come 2 me & ill accept u :) ull find out im better dan her." 

"Probably! So what  held you up?"

"Dat, lets not talk about it. Maybe next time."
"Im off 2 bed now txt u 2moro gudnyt"

I sent him three messages one after the other and I went to bed.

Next day, Liam came and we walked again together. While we were walking, he told me that he will stop working at the post office. He was hired at the cafe near Edgewood College and that he will be moving to a dorm near there too so he will be closer to school.

I couldn't say anything. I don't know what to say. I want to stop him. But how? I'm no one in his life. "When are you leaving?" 'Damn! Did I just ask him that? He might take it the wrong way.'

"Next week I'm moving to my dorm. But tomorrow, I won't be able to walk with you or pick you up from school. I'll be home late too."

I just nodded. I tried to gather my strength and forced a smile, "That's okay! When I go there you should treat me for a coffee." I winked at him to cheer the mood up. 

He just smiled a little, "Of course, be sure to visit."

We separated when his bus came. I continued to walk to school.

I went to work at the post office as usual, but this time, no Liam. I don't want to work there anymore. So I told Mr Phillips that I have to stop working so I can focus on my exams. He said okay and everything was fine.

One week has passed. We haven't seen each other for a week. I really miss him. But James was more active than before. He never failed to text me in the morning at lunchtime and in the afternoon after school. 

I told James that my birthday is coming soon. I invited him but he said he will be away that day. But he said he will definitely message me on my birthday to send his birthday greeting and wishes for me.

Two weeks now, still no Liam, my Saturday and Sundays are boring. First, it was Liza, now it's Liam, who's next? My birthday is coming and I have no one. 

It's my birthday today. James was the first one to greet me at 12 midnight saying, "Happy Birthday Skye. I wish you happiness."

"Is dat it?"

"Why are you awake? It's late."

"It's my bday, im allowed."

"I'm going to bed now, I'll message you in the morning"

"Gudnyt!"

"I wonder if Liam knows my birthday? Will he come if he knows? Does he even think about me? Do I even cross his mind?" I sighed, 'Probably not,' with that thought, I went to bed.

My mum greeted me and gave me my birthday present. Dad has his own gift for me as well. Since it's Saturday, I'm having my party at our house. I invited some of my friends from school and Liza. 

It was 5 PM when Liza came, Joey followed and so are my other friends. We were having fun, we chatted and laughed at Joey's jokes. We sang songs from our Symphony Grandvideoke machine. Joey has a great voice and sang five songs already, it doesn't seem like he will stop anytime soon. 

Then it was time to sing a birthday song for me and of course, Joey led them. It's time to blow the candle and for my birthday wish. I closed my eyes, 'I wish for Liam to be here and wish me a happy birthday. That's all I want this year.' and I blew the candle and I smiled after.

The next day, Emma and Wyatt take Jackson with them to Savvy Threads. Jackson didn't really want to go, but Emma insisted that he should at least try doing anything other than laying in bed. When they get there, Emma greets Matilda and Emily. "Go on" Emma says to Jackson, "at least be nice to Emily".
  Jackson sighs and says "What's up, Emily?".
  Emily responds by nervously waving a hand in the air while wearing a fake smile. "Uh... hey?" Emily says. 
  "Somehow, that's exactly the response I expected" Jackson says. 
  "Look, Jackson" Emily says, "it's not that I hate you or anything... but I also don't recall us particularly getting along super well. Like, we haven't really spoken all that much to each other".
  "Oh thank god" Jackson says. "The feeling is mutual". Jackson then looks at Emma and asks "Can I go now?".
  "No" Emma says, "try actually getting along with people...".
  Jackson groans and then says "Fine! I don't even know what to talk about here".
  "Sucks that you and Aeris... broke up" Emily says, trying to find something to talk about. There was a long awkward silence, then Emily says "This is awkward".
  "Yeah, I'm waiting outside of the store now..." Jackson says as he points his thumb at the door. 
  "... Anyways" Wyatt says, "any job opening for here, Matilda?".
  "Oh, yes" Matilda says. "We'll have to schedule a time for you to talk to Dylan about the job, that way he can interview you and stuff. If he decides you can take the job, you can work as my assistant".
  "Hopefully it works out then" Emma says. 
  "It'll be cool and all having a familiar face to work with" Emily says, "but I also imagine it'll start being a little awkward staying here".
  "Why's that?" Emma asks. 
  "I dunno" Emily says. "I don't really think I'd have much to talk about. So if you do get the job here, don't be surprised if it's constantly quiet".
  "Anyways" Matilda says, "Dylan should be here tomorrow morning before noon. If you want to stop by to talk with him then, you're free to come".
  "Tomorrow morning, got it!" Wyatt says. 
  As the two of them leave, Emma waves at Matilda and Emily. "Thanks again, Matilda!" Emma says. "And see you later, Emily!".
  "Yeah" Emily says, "take care".
  "I'm glad to see you two are getting along" Matilda says to Emily. 

  "Can we go back finally?" Jackson asks as the two of them leave the store.
  "Yes, we can go back" Wyatt says. 
  "Good" Jackson replies. "It's cold out here".
  "You could've stayed inside, you know?" Emma asks.
  "Yeah, but that involves talking to people" Jackson says. After the three of them get back to the dorm, Jackson asks "So, how do you plan on keeping Emma hidden in the dorm for so long?".
  Wyatt shrugs and says "It's been working so far".
  "Well..." Jackson says, "I know she doesn't have a place to return to, so make sure you don't let anybody else know that we're keeping Emma here. If the school finds out, they'll probably be furious". Immediately after that, a loud knock is heard on the door of the dorm. "Do... you usually get visitors?" Jackson asks. 
  "N-no... not really" Wyatt says. Wyatt stands up to answer the door, but the door suddenly swings open. 
  "Wyatt!" Darren says as he opens the door. Darren then notices Jackson and Wyatt sitting in a room with Emma. "Oh, I'm sorry..." Darren says as he awkwardly closes the door. 
  "No, wait!" Wyatt says, "it's not what you think! I can explain!".
  "Yes, please do explain" Jackson says. "Knowing you, it won't be a very good explanation".
  Darren opens the door again, then walks inside the room. "What's going on?".
  "Well..." Wyatt says, "Emma doesn't have a place to stay, so I'm keeping her here".
  "Uh-huh..." Darren says. "You know this is the boy's dorm, right?".
  "Y-Yeah" Wyatt says. 
  "So... is she your girlfriend?" Darren asks. 
  "Y-Yeah..." Wyatt says. 
  "And there it is" Jackson says, "the perfect explanation for a misunderstanding!".
  "So that's why you're keeping her here!" Darren says. 
  "Wait, no! I-" Wyatt says. 
  "Look, I get it" Darren says. "I won't tell a soul".
  "I don't think you are getting it..." Wyatt says in frustration. "So how'd you know which dorm is mine?".
  "Oh, that's easy!" Darren says. "I knocked on every door and bursted into everyone's room shouting your name like an idiot!".
  "... Really?" Wyatt asks. 
  "No..." Darren says. "I asked Ms. Weber to look up your name of the dorm list... did you honestly think I'd do that?".
  "Pfft- I like this guy!" Jackson says. 
  "Ayyy!" Darren says as he makes a finger gun gesture at Jackson. "So, you are?".
  "Jackson Lonny" Jackson says. "I'm in the same class as Wyatt... and in the club too, I guess".
  "Oh yeah, aren't you that laibah kid everyone was talking about?" Darren asks. 
  "Yep" Jackson says. 
  "Oh... so how many of us here are laibah?" Darren asks. 
  "In this room?" Wyatt asks. "I'm the only human here at the moment...".
  "Oh, so you're a laibah too?" Darren asks as he looks at Emma. 
  "Y-Yeah..." Emma says. "I believe I already introduced myself to you before. I'm Emma Frey".
  "Darren Forray" Darren says as he forces Emma to shake his hand.
  "What'd you wanna come here to talk about?" Wyatt asks. 
  "Right" Darren says, "so around this time, people in high school and stuff usually come to colleges like these to see what their possible future college looks like. Earlier today, I ran into a certain someone who also wanted to see you".
  "Me?" Wyatt asks.
  "I told him to wait by the gate and I'll bring you to him" Darren says, "but seeing as to how it'll be dangerous to keep going in and out with your girlfriend over there, I'll try bringing him to you".
  "Wait, who is it?" Wyatt asks. However, Darren leaves without answering. After a long silence, Darren comes back with a rather big surprise. "K-Kemal!?" Wyatt asks. "What are you doing here!?".
  "Kemal?" Jackson asks. 
  "So this is your brother?" Emma asks. 
  "Brother!?" Jackson asks. "Holy hopping hell, there's two of them!?".
  "What's up, Wyatt?" Kemal asks. 
  "H-how'd you get down here?" Wyatt asks. "Is mom okay? What are you doing all the way out here?".
  "Whoa, slow down there" Kemal says. "Let's see if I can answer these questions first. Umm... I took the city bus, mom is fine, and I'm here to check out what kinda school you go to".
  "So mom and dad are doing fine then?" Wyatt asks. 
  "Well, dad is still a grumpy old man, but yeah" Kemal says. "In fact, they're both better than fine now. Dad got a promotion, mom got a raise and we're financially stable for the first time ever. In fact, they're doing so well that I'm finally able to leave my job and come to school".
  "W-What?" Wyatt asks. 
  "I'll be coming here next year" Kemal says. "I've gotta look out for my little brother, don't I?".
  "But you'll be a year lower than him..." Jackson says. "It'll be more like he's watching out for you".
  "Same difference" Kemal says. 
  "N-no... no it is not..." Jackson says. 
  Darren laughs and says "See? Isn't this nice? We've already got a group of friends ready for ya when you start coming to school, Kemal!".
  Kemal laughs and says "Yeah, I like the sassy one!".
  "Sassy?" Jackson asks. "SASSY!?".
  "This situation seems kind of awkward..." Emma says. 
  Kemal leans in close to Darren and asks "Who's the girl?".
  "That's Wyatt's girlfriend" Darren says with a snicker. 
  "What!?" Kemal panics. 
  "Uh..." Wyatt tries to think of something to say. 
  "She's a laibah too" Darren says. 
  "Uh..." Emma says, now feeling uncomfortable.
  "No way!" Kemal says. "So you're going to be my future sister in law!?". Kemal starts furiously shaking Emma's hand saying "I'm Kemal Bogan! Nice to meet you!".
  As Kemal wildly shakes Emma's hand, her arm seems to go limp as she nervously laughs. "I-I'm Emma Frey~" Emma says nervously. 
  "This. Is. Hilarious" Jackson says. 
  "Can you stop?" Wyatt asks. "You're making her nervous!".
  "Oh!" Kemal says as he comes to a sudden stop. "Sorry...".
  "I-it's f-fine..." Emma says. Emma then thinks about the words Kemal said, "Future sister in law" and laughs nervously again. 
  "This room is kinda cramped, ain't it?" Kemal asks.
  "Gee, I wonder why" Jackson says. "Couldn't be the fact that it was designed to only hold two people at a time, yet here we are with five people...".
  "Is there anyone else I should meet?" Kemal asks. 
  "Oh yeah!" Darren says. "Wyatt actually has a bunch of friends now!".
  "Really?" Kemal asks. 
  "I know, it's surprising isn't it?" Darren asks. "He was always so quiet and awkward when we were all just little kids!".
  "Can I meet them, Wyatt?" Kemal asks. 
  "No!" Wyatt says. "Please, no! You're already making things awkward enough! Just... slow down for a minute, will ya?".
  "Aw, are you embarrassed of your big brother?" Kemal asks. 
  "That's... one way to put it, yes" Wyatt says. 
  Emma starts giggling and Jackson says "I can't believe there's someone weirder than Wyatt... yet, here you are!".
  "Can we keep it down?" Wyatt asks. "We don't need someone calling any of the staff to our room and getting into trouble".
  "Yeah, especially since you're keeping a girl here" Darren says. 
  Kemal whistles and says "Didn't think you'd turn out to be such a rebel".
  "Rebel?" Wyatt asks. "I-I think you're getting the wrong idea, because-".
  "Hey, it's of no consequence to me" Kemal says. "You do you".
  "You do you... now that's a quote" Jackson says. 
  Wyatt take a sigh of relief and says "It's good to hear that mom and dad are doing fine though. At least I don't have to worry about trying to support them after college now".
  "Yeah" Kemal says. "Probably the most freedom we've ever had in our lives, to be honest".
  "Maybe I can actually look for other career opportunities now..." Wyatt says. 
  "You mean... like Matilda's suggestion of being a teacher?" Emma asks. 
  "Yeah" Wyatt says, "maybe I should look into that after all. I was worried about getting into a job that was too far from home, because I was sure mom and dad would need my help by the time I graduated".
  "Yeah" Kemal says, "but now that they're finally getting the support they need from their own jobs, we probably don't have to do that after all. In fact, mom is the one who paid for me to come see you. Which reminds me, she also wanted to me pass on a message to you".
  "A message?" Wyatt asks. 
  "She says good luck" Kemal says, "and that she wants you to stay and school and not worry about her or dad".
  "Can you pass on a message from me when you get back?" Wyatt asks. 
  "Like what?" Kemal asks. 
  "Tell then I said thanks" Wyatt says. 
  "Screw that sappy stuff!" Kemal says, "I'm telling them about your girlfriend! Bwa-ha ha ha ha!".
  "Wait!" Wyatt says, "please don't! Dad will-".
  "Dad won't do anything" Kemal says. "He may have his dumb irrational fears, but you know mom and dad worry most about us. If it's someone you can trust, I'm sure dad'll put his stupid fear aside".
  "Fear?" Emma asks.
  "Our dad doesn't exactly like laibah" Kemal says. "But I'm sure he'll make an exception for you. After all, Wyatt's never had a girlfriend before!". 
  Kemal starts laughing loudly and Wyatt says "Can you please stop making everything more awkward!?".
  "But seriously" Kemal says to Emma, "don't worry about what that old man would think. I won't tell him about you".
  "Thanks" Wyatt says. 
  "I'll make Wyatt do that himself!" Kemal says. 
  "You-" Wyatt says. 
  "But" Kemal interrupts, "I'm sure the old man would be fine with you. He'll put aside his prejudice since you're someone Wyatt is close to".
  "And if he doesn't?" Jackson asks. 
  "He'll have to" Kemal says. "Otherwise, our mother will beat him into submission until he does".
  "W-What is your mom like!?" Emma asks. 
  "She's pretty soft hearted, really" Kemal says.
  "D-does she hate laibah?" Emma asks. 
  "No" Kemal says. "You'd probably enjoy meeting her, actually".
  "M-meeting them!?" Emma asks. 
  "Uh-oh, you're making her nervous again" Darren says. 
  "I wish I had a video camera" Jackson says. "This is the funniest thing I've seen all week".
  "Can we maybe stop?" Wyatt asks. "Let's not worry about anyone meeting anybody's parents!".
  "I-I... don't think I'd mind meeting your parents some day" Emma says nervously. 
  "See?" Kemal says, "she's fine with it!".
  "You're an enabler, aren't you?" Jackson asks. 
  "So... what makes you think dad would change his mind for Emma?" Wyatt asks. 
  "Oh... right" Kemal says. "I never told dad about Darren being a laibah, but I did tell mom a long time ago. Turns out she told dad almost immediately and he's known about it all along. However, dad never really got angry. He did tell me that involving myself with too many laibah would drag me into trouble like it did with Darren, but all that trouble wasn't Darren's fault. He knows we get along with laibah well, and he doesn't hate it. He's just constantly worried that we're getting into fights".
  "And if he knew Wyatt was dating one?" Jackson asks. 
  "Yeah..." Kemal says, "I always thought he'd get so mad about us being friends with laibah, that he'd probably pop a vein. However, he's surprisingly okay with it. I'm sure as long as Wyatt stays out of trouble, he won't have any problems with accepting Emma".
  "See?" Darren says, "you're practically all set up then! There won't be any issues if you two get married!".
  "M-m-married!?" Emma panics. 
  "Pfft- HA HA HA HA HA!" Jackson laughs out loud. "Man, this is really helping me cheer up!".
  "Are you scared of marriage?" Kemal teases Emma. 
  "N-no! I-" Emma says. "I can... I mean- I'm fine if- ah, uh...".
  "I think you broke her..." Jackson says. 
  "Whoops..." Kemal says. "Were we not supposed to talk about that yet?".
  Wyatt sighs and says "You've pretty much already talked about everything I'd rather not bring up all at the same time...".
  "Well, better out than in, I always say" Kemal says. 
  "Pfft- HA HA HA HA HA!!" Jackson laughs even harder. "BETTER OUT THAN IN! ISN'T THAT SUPPOSED TO BE AN EXCUSE FOR A FART!?".
  "Is it?" Kemal asks. "I mean, honesty is important".
  "It's official" Jackson says as he slowly stops laughing, "you're idiots".
  Now Kemal makes a finger gun gesture at Jackson and says "That's pretty mean".
  "I like you guys" Jackson says. "You say some silly stuff, AND you embarrass both Emma and Wyatt. This is quite the show!".
  "Aw, that's nice" Darren says. "We get his approval!".
  "Doesn't seem like much of an approval" Kemal says, "but I'll take what I can get".

  In a world shared between humans and laibah, there's a lot of turmoil between the two. I'm on the ground, I can't see, and i'm oddly tired. I'm pretty sure i just took a gnarly ball to the head, Not being able to see is kind of alarming. I wipe my arm across my eyes and finally see sunlight again. I take a look at the arm and see blood. I'm not blind it was just blood so that's good... i think? I don't feel any pain but ill just chalk that up to adrenaline. I think it's time to sit up now.. I attempt to sit up but i feel a pair of hands hold me back down. It's coach. My ears are ringing so i cant make out what hes saying but i assume hes telling me to stay still. I want to stay in this game but its not some sports show. I cant just will my self into staying in the game. This is real life and a head injury like this means i'm on the way to the hospital. Damn. 

I eventually got up. The ringing in my ears went away and i'm escorted to the nurses office on the college campus. The nurse took a look at me, I have a cut above my left eye and it's pretty swollen but nothings broken. She taped gauze above my eye and i gotta say I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for an eye patch. I tried to weasel my way into watching the rest of the game but coach said he has another daughter who goes to college here and she can take me to the hospital to get looked at by a doctor. So i'm waiting for her to come pick me up from the nurses office. I wonder how the games going i think to myself before a knock at the door is heard interrupting my thoughts and self pity.

"CB you ready?" Hmm she seems familiar. I look at her for a second and she looks at me puzzled. I snap my fingers and point at her.

"Receptionist lady!" I shout with a hint of triumph in my voice.

"Excuse me?" she barks back trying to sound stern while trying to hold back a laugh.

"It's Rachel you weirdo."

"I dunno Reception lady sounds a whole lot better" I reply with a cheeky smile. I grab my baseball bag and head towards the door. I'm putting on a smile but i know deep down i wish i was on that field with my team. It hurts a little inside knowing i cant be there with them. 

We make her way to the car in silence. It's kinda awkward gotta be honest with you. It kinda just hit me that she was the coaches daughter which makes it even more awkward. I attempt to break the silence.

"The first day i met you what were you doing at the reception desk in the dorm?" 

"It's where i like to go when i'm in town bored." She replied

Another moment of silence hits before i tell her "Thanks for taking me to the doctors.. I appreciate it."

"No problem at all i came as soon as my dad called. He talks about you alot ya know?" 

I let out a chuckle before i reply "Good things i hope." 

"it is good things." She replied with a smile. After that finding small talk wasn't hard. I asked her about the college and her major. She asked me about life back home in Florida i answered without going into to much detail and before i knew it we are pulling up to the hospital.

As we're sitting in the waiting room I cant stop shaking my leg. Hospitals don't make me nervous but waiting rooms do. I think it's the anticipation of whats to come ahead. After waiting for around half an hour the doctor calls me. I stand up and tell Rachel i'll be back.

The doctor does his thing and does a full check up on me. He removes the bandage on my eye and tells me he doesn't think it'll need stitches which is cool that i wont be looking like Frankenstein. Then we get into the concussion test and after it the doctor speaks up.

"You have a concussion, It's a little more than mild but it doesn't seem too serious. No lifting, no sprinting and no sports including PE for a couple weeks." He tells me before jotting something down on his clipboard. 

devastated by the news i ask him "Will i be able to jog at all?" As if i'm hanging on to my last hope at being able to do anything physical for the next couple weeks.

"I would wait a week and see how you feel. If you feel any dizziness or fatigue come back to talk to me." I thank him and head back out to the waiting room where i see Rachel. 

"Concussion no sports for 14 days." I tell her in a monotone voice. I didn't mean to sound so defeated but i really couldn't help it. 

"I just got a call from my dad 100 Oaks lost 2-1" Rachel replies. I didn't say anything back to her. She stands up and grabs her purse. We make our way out the doors of the hospital and head to the car. I can't help feeling bad for my team but i gotta think positive. We'll have another chance in the fall to qualify for the summer tournament and we can only get stronger. Me and Rachel ride the rest of the way to the dorm in silence. She pulls up to the gates and ask if i need anything, I shake my head no as i get out of the car and thank her for the ride.

When I got back to the dorm i went to my room and showered. After the team got back i talked to the coach and let him know the situation he tells me team is taking a week off from practice and i should rest up. It's around 10:00 o'clock and tomorrow is Saturday and i know i'm not suppose to leave the campus but i'm bored outta my skull and i need to clear my mind. I throw on my windbreaker and decide to go on a walk. Before i grab my phone off the bed and look at it, I have a text from Brooke that reads "I'm sorry to hear what happened, get better soon." That single message broke the dam and a river of emotions flooded out but the biggest emotion was anger. This girl who turns her cheek to me every time i say hi is showing me sympathy. I'm not mad at Brooke, What she did was a nice thing to do. I'm mad at myself i guess. I don't like this feeling. I don't like that i need to be sympathized with. I don't like that i feel... broken. I start to text back "thank you" before i delete the message and put the phone in my pocket.

 After walking out the front gate i walk the route that i usually jog. After awhile i mindlessly cross the footbridge and walk by coaches house. I panic a bit and cross the street. If the coach sees me out i'm sure he'll be more upset about me walking around after my injury today than me leaving campus this late. After i get a few more houses down my phone rings, I pull it out of my pocket and it's Brooke. I'm not really in the mood to talk to anyone so i press decline and was about to put it back in my pocket before it starts ringing again. I look at my phone and it's Brooke calling a second time. I  press accept and answer.

"Yeah?"

"What are you doing?" She asks in a stern voice. I look back towards her and coaches house to see if i was spotted but it didn't seem like it. 

"Uhm nothing i was just about to go to bed so imma hang up." I reply with a lie. 

"So that wasn't you i just saw walk by my house?"

".... hmm i know you like to picture me everywhere but it must've been someone else." I say with a sly smile 

"So this isn't you i'm looking at right now?" 

I turn around and i see Brooke standing there with a phone in her hand. I hang up and put my phone in my pocket. I'm not proud of this but my first thought was to run. I'm usually not one to want to avoid confrontation but i felt like i didn't have the energy to deal with this. 

"CB what are you doing? After all that has happened today just rest." 

"I can't just rest. I needed to clear my mind a bit. I have a lot going on in my mental ya know?"

"...Do you want to talk about it?" 

"Not really Brooke. Not right now at least." 

"Well i cant just let you keep walking around this late. Come on i'll get my dad to give you a ride back." She said in a soft spoken voice. It was a really nice change of pace from how she usually speaks to me.

"Please don't tell coach. Just go home and forget you saw me alright? I'm just walking i'll be fine...please." 

She looks at me puzzled for a second. I can tell she's thinking about what she should do before she shrugs it off and says "Fine".

"Thank you Brooke, seriously." I turn around to continue my one man journey before i hear her call out again "CB." 

I turn to face her and she begins to say something before coming back with "Never mind." I turn around once again and i start walking. I know what she wanted to ask, she wanted to see if she could come with me. I think i would of told her no, There's just times when a man needs to be alone. 

After walking for some time i see a park. I never been the playground type even when i was a kid. I preferred playing Kickball or shooting a basketball but what i did like about the playground were the swings. They're soothing in a way. I plop a seat on the swing and start swinging. I'm allowed to feel sorry for myself right? I'm a 16 year old kid with a head injury who just got told that he can't do what he loves the most for at least 2 weeks. Now i know in the scale of things my personal problem is a small one i mean it's just 2 weeks. I've decided that tomorrow there is no more feeling sorry for my self. I will move on and i will get better.

I'm CB Williams and i guess you could call me a bit of a baseball fanatic. I don't know where my journey will take me but i'm excited to find out.

I sat on my bed and looked up at the ceiling as I talked to myself. "It's not like I like David, I'm in love with Jason." I smiled as I said it out loud and then I grabbed my phone. I started calling Jason and I waited patiently as it rung.  "Sorry I can't come to the phone right now, you know what to do." I sighed and hung up the phone then simply sent a message. 'KNOCK, KNOCK' "Come in!" I looked over at the door as Charlie walked in and gave me a warm smile. "Nice room, not really what I thought your room would look like." "What is that supposed to mean?" I giggled a bit as he walked in and looked around. "Ehh you just kind of seem to yourself but your room is… bubbly." I rolled my eyes at how ridiculous he was, and he laughed slightly. "The roommates and I were wondering if you want to go out with us tonight." "Yeah sure that sounds like a fun way to get to know each other where are we going?" "Well we attempted to cook, and David burned the food…." "Bullsh*t!!" I giggled a bit and Charlie followed along. "Anyway, we are going out to eat, but haven't decided where just get dressed." He walked out and closed my door and I could faintly here him and David messing around. 

I smiled to myself happily as I knew as far as college, I had some friends by my side. I got out of bed and hopped into the shower before doing my makeup and getting dressed. I tossed on a short tight sundress along with short heeled boots, walking out my room I met my roommates in the kitchen. I looked at them and smiled as Charlie came over and wrapped his arms around my neck. "Looking good, ready to go?" I smiled at him and nodded as Amanda came over and wrapped her arm around mine. "Let's go girly." We made our way out of the dorm and into David's truck. "So, I did a little research while you guys were getting ready and there is a really amazing seafood place close by. Why don't we get our food and eat at home to talk?" "Sounds perfect I didn't really want to sit in a busy restaurant." "Seafood it is." I smiled as David started driving and Amanda took up a conversation with me. "So, Octavia, what are you studying? I'm studying figure drawing, fashion drawing and photography." "Wow, now I just seem basic." We both started to laugh, "I'm studying Photography, but I am considering figure drawing." She nodded at me and the looked at the guys. "What about you two?" "Acting and industrial design." 

"Architecture & design and graphic design." I smiled at them both and then looked out the window as the three of them continued to chat. I pulled out my phone and checked my notifications but there was nothing. I started scrolling through my messages with Jason, smiling to my self as I read, I giggling softly. I put my phone down and sighed softly to myself, I knew he was there for me but just a little distant. Maybe not travel wise but he was a very busy man and I knew that. I had to put up with it before and now nothing is different. After a while we made it to the restaurant and we all looked over the menu. "Mmmm I'm really feeling lobster and crab." "Why don't we all share a king crab?" "Perfect!!!" I smiled at them then looked back at the menu. "What are you thinking about?" I looked over at David and smiled... "I think I'm going to get the steak and lobster with shrimp." "Hmmm sound delicious. I think I'm going to get steamed sea bass with asparagus." I smiled at him as we put in our order then sat down to wait. "So, tell me a little more about you Octavia." "What would you like to know?" "Well where are you from?" "Maryland." "What!? You came across the country to go to school! Why!?" "Hehe well for one I absolutely love Photography and there is someone very  special here that I didn't want to be away from anymore." "So, it all worked out." I nodded at him as he smiled, and our order was called out. The guys grabbed the bags and we made our way back to the dorm. Once back we all sat in the kitchen starting to eat as we got to know eat other. I sat on the counter as I started eating and I looked around at them. "You know tomorrow the boys have grocery duty and Octavia and I will go pick up furniture."

 "Woah why should we have to get the groceries, let us get the furniture." "No way am I letting two college boys pick out the furniture we want it to actually look stylish." I laughed to myself as Amanda and Charlie started to argue. David made his way over to me and I smiled softly. "How's your food?" "Good thanks for asking. How's yours?" "Good very good. This is actually my first time ever having lobster." "Wow what a risk taker." I laughed as we both continued to eat. "Hey when do you guys want to eat this huge crab?" "I'm ready!" David ran over to the table and I got off the counter as I followed with my plate. We all took our seats at the table and started eating together, the rest of the night we laughed and talked as if we had known each other all our lives. This was going to be a great year and I knew that I was slowly but surely being surrounded by people who cared about me. After a few hours we all finished and cleaned up before going to bed. I sat on bed with David sitting at my desk as we talked. "So…. I know this might be a dumb question, I don't really think you will. Can you just not tell Amanda and Charlie about what you saw." I smiled at him and nodded softly. 

"Of course, I would never, even if I did I feel like Charlie would ask to borrow it. We both started laughing hard and he stood up then opened his arms for a hug, I smiled and stood up hugging him tightly. "Get some sleep okay, I'll see you in the morning." I nodded as he held me tightly then slowly pulled away. "Goodnight." "Goodnight David." He smiled before walking out and closing the door. I showered then got in bed and quickly fell asleep. Suddenly in the middle of the night I woke up to my phone ringing loudly. Being barley awake I picked up my phone and quickly answered it. "Hello?" "Hey sleepy head. I'm outside your dorm come let me in." I smiled tiredly as I heard Jason's voice I had wanted to sleep next to him so bad and now he was here. I hung up and crawled out of bed as I made my way to the door. "Did you miss me?" "Of course, I did." I wrapped my arms tightly around Jason before pulling him inside and into my room.
