Tsunade, Christian Tsunade, from the book/novel: Chaos is a place for us losers, a little background information on the main character.

Christian thought that it was the end of everything. His life would end, along with his passion and career. He felt guilty that Ezekiel will also die with him. Ezekiel just got promoted to a higher opportunity. And he, himself just started to bloom as a writer. It was a short journey for them. Just like how tragic novel develop its climatic scene, he started reminiscing his growth as a writer. 

Christian Simoune during his middle school. He was this introverted student who loves reading books. Despite of him being an introvert, he found a way to express his feelings. Ironically speaking, his vocabulary are not broad compare to his classmates. Although, he can make poems and short stories that will truly melt every teacher's heart. His teachers could see the passion arising from him in terms of literature pieces. They can always see Christian reading a book during break times and vacant times. 'Maybe he wanted to extend his vocabulary.' His english teacher assumed. So, his english teacher talked to him. At first, Christian did not pay attention to what his teacher is saying. He just simply nod his head and leave the faculty room. On the other hand, his teacher was full of hope that Christian would submit a poem for a certain contest. Who knows, maybe it will be his turning point. However, writing is just a way for him to express his unspoken feelings. He can't see himself being a competitive writer, or even an author of a novel. He felt that no one will read his piece, so he assumed that he will just waste his time and effort. 

His mom picked him up after school. But before they went home, his teacher talked to his mom. Christian could hear them talking about the contest, which he really doesn't want to join. He silently walked away from them, heading outside the school's building. "Sunset." He murmured. HIs eyes widened, as the sunray meets his pale face. He was astonished. "B-beautiful." He stuttered. Christian could not find the right word to describe it. But one thing is for sure, it caught his attention. Soon, his mother arrived. She looked at Christian before calling out his name. "Tan!" She called with a happy tone. When Christian turned around, his mother saw his boy. Smiling. It rarely happened. His mother rushed to him, and gave him a warm hug. "Dear, what happened." His mom, who is trying not to cry said. "Nothing mom." Christian assured her, giving her the warmest smile. "Let's go?" His mom asked. Christian just nodded with a smile in his face. It was truly his turning point.

When they reached home, Christian rushed into his room which made his mom worried. "Slow down, sweetie." His mom chuckled. He sat on his mini-desk, taking out a dictionary and his spare notebook from the cabinet. He started writing random things and soon, he finished writing his first ever piece. Technically, not his first piece but the first piece after his turning point.

'I could still remember the first two lines' Christian thought, as he recalls the poem he created when he was still in middle school. 

Sunset

"The sun will almost set, as it gives warmth
It hugged me, I could feel it inside my heart.
I wanted to experience it, before we pull apart." 

'I wish my mom still have it. I'm sorry mom.' Christian said to himself. He could still remember how happy his english teacher when he submitted a poem the next day. 'Thank you teacher.'

Christian handed to his teacher the piece he wrote last night. He was nervous, but he knew he put a lot of effort in the poem. His english teacher smiled to him, as she ruffles his hair. "Good job! Just believe, you will win." She said to Christian, giving him assurance. He just nodded, as his teacher walked away. He muttered a phrase, but his teacher didn't hear what he said. "Thank you teacher."

The next few weeks, they announced that Christian lost. Sadness consumed him. He thought that writing is not for him. Although he lost, he still came in second. "You did great Christian!" His teacher comforted him. While she is comforting Christian, she looked at the list of contestants. When she noticed that the contestants are all in eight grade except him, her face formed a bigger smile. 'Despite of the age difference, you still managed to place second.' She thought. "Cheer up, tell your mom the good news. You touched the judge's heart, that's why you came in second. That also means there is a room for improvement. Now, go." She said. Christian nodded, as he runs away to meet his mom. 'A natural born writer.' She thought. She took Christian's poem and read it. She felt overwhelmed as she reads the piece. She felt the emotions and it struck her heart. "How come this doesn't win?" She let out a chuckle. 'I see you in the real world.' 

Christian Simoune during highschool. He became more outgoing, but he limits his circle of friends. One day, he heard that his former english teacher resigned. He thought that maybe she had better plans. On that day, he was on his way to the library. He passed by a certain someone who caught his eyes. 'She's beautiful.' He thought. He felt that his heart pounds faster than before. There was a romantic attachment he saw on the girl that he passed by. 'Shakespeare, I know believe in love at first sight.' He thought while chuckling. He shook his head to clear the weird thoughts running in his mind, and simple walked over towards the library instead. 

Christian sat on his usual place and waited for his friends to come. He got bored waiting, so he took a book on a nearby shelf. Broken by Daniel Clay. He scanned the page and thought that it was an interesting book. He returned with the book, and noticed that his friends already arrived. "Someone's missing." One of his friends noticed, as Christian sat on his seat. "Speaking of the devil." His friend added. Christian looked up and saw his friend with a girl he passed by earlier. He was stunned. "This is my soulmate..." His friend whom just arrived introduced the girl as if it pierced Christian's ear. He acted normal, shaking his hand with the girl's hand. But deep inside, he was hurting. Although they just met hours ago, it is still painful to Christian. It's like he was stabbed on his heart. He looked on the book he took at the shelf earlier. 'You jerk.' He chuckled silently. 

Because of that, he wrote his first tragic novel which caught big publishers' attention and interest. It was a great novel, it receives a lot of praise and appreciation. But, he's not happy. It feels like he couldn't recognize himself when reading the novel he written. He wanted to show his true colors through a novel. His intentions in writing changed when he wrote his first tragic novel. He wanted to impress, not to express. He decided to unwind. 

He woke up early, the sun hasn't risen yet. He looked at the clock and noticed it was 4:30AM. He rushed to his dormitory's rooftop. The sky was still dark, the stars were shining and the moon was so full and bright. It felt peaceful and comforting. Until, the sun is slowly rising. He remember the first time he felt the warmth that the sun gives. It was comforting. He observed the sun rising through the dark sky, as it gives light to its surroundings. It was truly bright to the point it struck him. He came into his sense. He remembers his original intentions in writing. He opened his arms wide, welcoming the warmth of the sun. "To hug every lonely spirit." 

'I could still remember what is my purpose in writing back then. Until now, it is still the same. It never changed.' Christian chuckled, as he recalls his purpose. 

"To give warmth to frozen heart." 

Christian Simoune during college. The time when he met the Seasons of Novelist, and Ezekiel Phillips. The five of them studied different majors. But, they did not forget to meet with each other and write a collaborative novel with Ezekiel as their critique. They were so close to each other, until a disaster came. 

"This is so tragic, it doesn't sound realistic!" Chelsea shouted. "What do you want then, this novel will be filled with flowery words?" Isaiah complained. Christian stayed silent and let them argue for a while. "And you Vinz, don't you think this is too harsh. This novel will rather receive hate than love!" Isaiah pointed Vinz out. 'Oh no.' Christian thought. Vinz furrowed his brows while looking at Isaiah. "You rather give them false expectations than say the truth? What a shame." Vinz insulted Isaiah. Isaiah was about to punch Vinz, but Christian feels that this is too much. He moved between them, as he receives the punch that came from Isaiah. 'It was a strong hit.' He thought as he passed out. They panicked. Chelsea started crying, Isaiah doesn't know what to do and Vinz started to blame Isaiah for what happened. "A tragic writer who made our friend experienced death early." Vinz mocked him. Isaiah was about to charge him but Chelsea shouted. "Stop! Christian was already unconscious and the both of you are still fighting." Vinz and Isaiah let out a sigh, carrying Christian as they went to the Infirmary. Ezekiel, who just arrived at the scene looked at the papers on the ground confused. "What happened and where are they?" He asked himself as he took the papers. He examined it and somehow, he is hooked to it. However, he felt something needs to change. 

Isaiah and Vinz kept on arguing inside the infirmary. They kept blaming each other for what happened. Chelsea, who is almost at her limit is trying to compose herself. But, she couldn't. She was about to shout when they heard Christian groaned. They approached him immediately as they keep on apologizing for what happened. Christian could see Isaiah's pained eyes, Chelsea's teary eyes and Vinz' worried eyes. He just let out a chuckle and gave them a smile. "I'm good, it was just a punch." He chuckled making the three let out a sigh in relief. "By the way, where is the draft?" He asked innocently. Isaiah, Vinz and Chelsea looked at each other, asking if they had the draft. They knew if the draft went missing, Christian would be pissed off. Christian looked at them, almost irritated that they won't give an answer. "Where--" He was cut off when Ezekiel entered the scene. "I got it." He said while showing them the papers. "When I arrived, I saw nothing but papers so I wondered what happened. I stayed for a while, trying to edit the draft. I thought some parts needed to be balance because it had an overwhelming emotions. But when I finished, I don't know where will I find you guys. However, a stranger told me you guys made a scene and rushed here. So, here am I." He explained as he handed Christian the draft. 'It looks good now.' He thought. "That's why we need an editor." Christian winked playfully to Ezekiel as they all laugh. Christian let the other three read the edited draft, and all of them share the same thoughts. "It was undeniably good!" They shouted in unison which made them chuckle. "All you guys need is a guide. I know someone who can act as a mentor to us." Ezekiel offered. Suddenly, a lady went inside the room. "Speaking of, here she is." He introduced the lady. 

The image is slowly becoming clearer and clearer as Christian continues to reminisce. 'Wait, I know who that is.' Christian eyes widened. 

"I want you to meet..." Christian did not hear completely what Ezekiel have said. 

Christian wanted to continue recalling his past but, they already crashed. His vision becomes blurry, as well as the image. Soon, his vision turned pitch black. 

Who are you?

Christian Simoune, a famous author.  Throughout his journey, he faced a lot of challenges. Unfortunately, He tends to feel burned-out writing because of those challenges. As time passes by, he experienced unusual events.  Will it help him reach his goals despite of the challenges he is facing?

But after a long time, His journey reached to an end. Is he happy? Is he satisfied? But the important question is, 

"Did he reached his goal?"

Ulasan :

Novel yang terdiri dari enam seri ini berkisah tentang Rose dan Lissa. Rose adalah seorang dhampir, yang artinya manusia setengah vampir, sedang Lissa adalah seorang moroi. Moroi adalah seorang vampire sejati tetapi mereka tidak abadi. Moroi adalah sosok bangsawan vampir. Bisa terlihat dari penampilan mereka yang cantik dan pucat. Dhampir bertugas untuk melindungi moroi. Di sini dikisahkan Rose bertugas melindungi Lissa. Karena itu, Rose dilatih di akademi, di bawah bimbingan Dimitri.

Benih-benih cinta bersemi antara Rose dan Dimitri yang juga seorang dhampir. Di sisi lain, Lissa yang ditunjuk menjadi pemimpin dari moroi juga tertarik pada sosok Christian, seorang moroi yang dikucilkan karena orang tuanya berubah menjadi strigoi. 

Novel ini menceritakan tentang perjuangan Rose menjadi sosok dhampir yang kuat di tengah masalah asmara yang dia hadapi termasuk melawan strigoi serta bagaimana Lissa yang kalem dan masih muda menjadi sosok pemimpin moroi yang disegani.

Konflik memuncak saat Rose menghadapi dilema karena Dimitri berubah menjadi strigoi. Dia ditugasksn untuk membunuh pria itu, sedang di sisi lain, Dimitri adalah orang yang dicintainya. Kelemahan Rose justru membuat dia diculik Dimitri. Rose berhasil meloloskan diri, tetapi dia masih saja ragu untuk membunuh Dimitri karena meski telah berubah, Dimitri masih memiliki rasa cinta padanya. Rose kemudian berjuang untuk memulihkan Dimitri kembali menjadi dhampir. Meski semua mengatakan tidak bisa, Rose tidak putus asa. 

Rose memang akhirnya berhasil memulihkan Dimitri di tengah tentangan, tetapi masalah belum berakhir karena Dimitri justru merasa tertekan akibat pembunuhan yang dia lakukan saat menjadi strigoi. Belum lagi cara mereka di akademi tersebut melihat dia seolah tidak percaya bahwa dirinya telah kembali menjadi dhampir. Rose kembali berjuang. Kali ini untuk mengembalikan kepercayaan diri Dimitri dan kepercayaan orang-orang pada pria itu.

Catatan :

Cerita dalam novel ini memang cukup sederhana. Konfliknya tidak membikin pusing kepala meski dibumbui berbagai intrik dan cinta segitiga antara Rose, Dimitri, dan Adrian.

Kisah juga tentang persahabatan antara Rose dan Lissa. Juga teman-teman dhampir yang lain. Bahkan seorang gadis manusia bernama Sidney. Rose yang keras kepala dan tangguh bertolak belakang dengan Lissa yang kalem dan tenang. Novel ini juga mengisahkan kesetiakawanan di antara mereka. Lissa bahkan membela dan membantu Rose memulihkan Dimitri saat pria itu menjadi strigoi.

Sosok Lissa yang masih muda ingin dimanfaatkan oleh kaum bangsawan moroi. Akan tetapi, siapa sangka Lissa yang terlihat kalem tersebut ternyata bisa bersifat tegas, bahkan memperjuangkan cintanya pada Christian.

Christian sendiri adalah sosok yang tertutup. Orang tuanya yang berubah menjadi strigoi membuat dia dikucilkan. Hubungan Christian dan Lissa ini terpisah oleh status tuan putri dan anak yang dikucilkan. 

Dalam novel ini, bila dicermati ada perubahan karakter yang begitu besar. Sosok Rose yang tegar ternyata dia juga bisa rapuh dan menangis. Dimitri yang dewasa dan tenang ternyata bisa kehilangan kepercayaan diri bahkan tertekan karena dirinya yang biasa disegani orang. Akan tetapi kini orang-orang berubah pandangan dan seolah menatap curiga padanya. Lissa yang kalem bisa bersikap tegas dan bijak, bahkan berani membela Rose. Christian yang semula tertutup akhirnya berani membuka diri dan berdiri di samping Lissa.

Novelnya memang terbilang ringan. Konfliknya tidak berat sehingga bisa dibaca bila ingin santai. Meski begitu, jalinan kisah di dalamnya terbilang cukup menarik. Penulis mengerti benar cara memainkan emosi pembaca yang rata-rata wanita muda. Mereka bisa merasakan bagaimana menjadi Rose dan Lissa yang kecewa dan sedih dengan sikap pria-pria yang mereka cintai. Karena penulis seorang wanita, mungkin itu sebabnya dia menciptakan karakter Rose dan Lissa yang begitu menonjol. Kisah perjuangan mereka dalam menghadapi masalah tampak sangat menonjol di novel ini.

Novel ini juga ditujukan untuk para dewasa muda, karena berbagai adegan di dalamnya menceritakan kisah percintaan 'dewasa'. Jadi kalian yang masih di bawah umur, tidak diperbolehkan membaca novel ini. 

Untuk saya pribadi, novel ini cukup menarik dan berkesan. Penilaian yang bagus saya berikan untuk novel ini, meski konflik dan intrik terbilang sederhana, tetapi bisa memikat saya sebagai pembaca untuk bisa terbawa dalam alurnya. Itu sudah cukup untuk saya memberikan nilai lumayan tinggi untuk novel berseri ini. Kisah yang diceritakanpun di luar plot yang biasa yaitu cinta beda alam seperti novel-novel romansa vampir kebanyakan. Hal itu tentu membuat nilai plus tersendiri bagi novel ini karena pembaca mungkin jenuh dengan suguhan plot cinta manusia dengan vampir yang sangat banyak beredar.

Sebuah program rangkaian menulis selama 30 hari di bulan Juni 2020

"Lalu, apakah lu tahu, di mana Ara?" tanya Dewa sedikit merendahkan intonasi bicaranya.
"Belum," jawab singkat Juna.
Dewa merasa, pertemuannya dengan Juna, malah membuat Dewa semakin merasa tersaingi. Karna terlihat dari cara bicara dan cara pandang Juna, yang sangat melindungi Ara. Melindungi Ara dari seseorang yang mungkin, akan menyakitinya.
Dewa memutuskan pergi, setelah ia tahu tentang kebeneran Rai, dan awal mula, bagaimana Ara dan Juna bekerja sama. Jadi selama ini, Ara tak pernah mengetahui, bahwa penerbit yang menaunginya, adalah penerbit yang dipimpin oleh Juna.
Dewa semakin merasa berkecil hati, berkecil hati, karna ia belum melakukan hal yang jauh lebih baik, ketimbang perbuatan Juna ke Ara, selama ini. "Ra? apakah aku terlalu buruk, saat ini?" lirih Dewa di dalam mobilnya.
Pikiran Dewa semrawut, dan kacau. Selalu ada kata seandainya, dari setiap kata hatinya.
Seandainya ia tak meninggalkan Ara.
Seandainya, ia tak mementingkan Alana.
Dan seandainya, dia berusaha mengenal lebih dekat, sosok Ara.
Dewa memang belum pernah bertemu dengan orang tua Ara. Pertama, karna Ara bilang, mereka ada di Semarang, dan baik Ara maupun Dewa, tak ada yang berinisiatif berkunjung ke Semarang. Mungkin, jika kita melihat dari sisi Ara, dia masih belum terbuka tentang fakta orang tuanya yang telah meninggal dunia.
Ia masih perlu waktu, untuk membicarakan hal tersebut, dengan Dewa. Dan jika dilihat dari sudut pandang Dewa, mungkin Dewa hanya menghormati keinginan Ara, yang belum mengajaknya, untuk memperkenalkan Dewa, ke keluarga inti Ara.
Tapi bukankah, seharusnya ada obrolan ke arah sana? jika keduanya, sama-sama yakin.
Tapi entahlah, hanya mereka berdua, dan Tuhan yang tahu.

"Ngobrolin apa, dia?" tanya Rico, saat Dewa telah pergi meninggalkan Juna sendiri, di table cafenya.
"Tentang Rai, dan penerbit gue." jawab Juna.
"Dia belum tahu?" Rico mempertanyakan.
"Sepertinya, dia baru aja tahu. Ara kan, emang merahasiakan profesinya itu." jawab Juna.
"Kira-kira, Ara di mana, ya? gue khawatir banget, Jun." ucap Rico, dengan wajah khawatirnya.
"Apalagi gue, Ric. Gue udah gak bisa tidur nyenyak, gara-gara mikirin dia."
"Kalau ternyata..." Rico menggantungkan kalimatnya.
"Ternyata apa, Ric?" Juna penasaran.
"Kalau misalkan, Ara udah..."
"Stop!" sela Juna, menghentikan kalimat Rico.
"Gue yakin, Ara baik-baik aja, Ric. Dia pasti masih hidup." ucap Juna dengan keyakinan penuh, tapi raut wajah, tidak menunjukkan keyakinan penuh.
Rico hanya menatap Juna dengan pandangan sedih. Sedih, karna melihat sang sahabat, harus mengalami rasa sakit lagi. Rasa sakit karna orang yang sama, karna Ara.
Juna mulai meninggalkan cafe Love Milk. Ia harus datang ke kantornya, sudah beberapa hari, ia jarang masuk ke kantor. Pikirannya sudah penuh dengan Ara, beberapa hari terakhir. Apalagi, setelah ia mengetahui tentang fakta yang baru saja ia temukan. Juna semakin tidak bisa menikmati jam kerjanya, dengan baik.

"Siang, Pak?" sapa Rina, sekretaris Juna.
"Siang, Rin. Ada hal baru?" tanya Juna.
"Ada, Pak. Tentang pemutusan, kontrak kerja penulis Rai. Tinggal menunggu tanda tangan, dan stempel dari bapak." jawab Rina.
Biasanya, Juna akan langsung mengijinkan sang sekretaris, menggunakan stempel perusahaannya, hanya saja, jika menyangkut Rai atau Ara, sang sekretaris, akan menunggu perintah langsung, dari Juna. Ia tak ingin membuat kesalahan lagi, saat ini.
Juna memasuki ruang kerjanya, beberapa novel best seller yang ada dipenerbitnya selama ini, terpajang rapi, di rak buku, di ruangan Juna. Ada beberapa novel milik Ara, dan yang paling berkesan adalah, novel pertama milik Ara. Novel yang menceritakan tentang dirinya dan Ara, saat mereka masih SMA.
Walau banyak yang sudah dibumbui dengan cerita fiktif, tapi Juna masih menganggapnya, bahwa novel tersebut, adalah cerita mereka berdua. Tapi, dari sudut pandang Ara saja.
Tok tok tok, bunyi pintu ruangan Juna, terketuk dari luar.
Juna belum terduduk di kursi singgasananya, lalu, ia membalikkan badan, dan mengijinkan sang pengetuk, untuk masuk."
"Masuk!" pinta Juna dengan sedikit berteriak.
Muncullah seseorang yang selama ini, telah memulai kerja sama dengan Juna, dalam hal mencari Ara, dan melindungi Ara, dialah Christian.
"Ada apa, Chris? kenapa gak ngabarin, gue dulu?" tanya Juna, sambil ia menuju sofa, dan meminta Christian untuk duduk.
"Sorry, ini urgent banget soalnya." jawab Christian dengan wajah seriusnya.
"Urgent gimana?" Juna merasa penasaran.
"Ini tentang siapa yang mengaku, sebagai, orang tua Liora." ucap Christian.
"Lu, udah tahu orangnya?" Juna semakin antusias.
"Belum, hanya saja. Dokter Fredy, juga belum bertemu dengan orang yang mengaku sebagai orang tua Liora. Dan ada fakta yang gue temuin,"  ucap Christian, ingin memberikan, info lainnya.
"Apa?"
"Sepertinya, orang tua Liora, adalah seorang dokter." jawab Christian yakin.
"Lu seriusan? Gimana bisa nemuin hal itu?" Juna menanyakan detail.
"Gue mendatangi panti asuhan, yang dulu ditempati Liora. Pemilik panti bilang, seseorang yang dulu ingin mengadopsi Liora, meninggalkan sebuah kartu nama."
"Kartu nama?" Juna makin penasaran.
"Iya, tapi belum tahu, apakah itu milik orang tersebut, atau bukan. Tapi yang jelas, kartu nama tersebut, mencantumkan nama sebuah rumah sakit."
"Rumah sakit, apa?" tanya Juna.
"Rumah sakit, Bunda Kasih." jawab Christian, sambil menyodorkan sebuah kartu nama, yang sudah berusia, belasan tahun.
"Apakah, rumah sakit tersebut, masih ada di jaman sekarang?" Juna bertanya.
"Masih, dan sekarang, telah menjadi sebuah rumah sakit mewah, yang ada di Ibukota."
"Benarkah?" ucap Juna, sambil mencoba menslide layar ponselnya, mencari keberadaan, rumah sakit tersebut.
Tertulis dengan jelas dihasil pencarian yang dilakukan Juna, Rumah sakit tersebut, ada di daerah yang tak jauh, dari apartemen, lamanya.
"Sammy, tengah KOAS di sana. Kita bisa mencari info lebih dalam tentang rumah sakit, dan nama dokter, yang ada di kartu nama, tersebut." ucap Christian.
Di lembar kartu nama tersebut, ada sebuah nama dokter, beserta alamat kerja, dan info kontaknya. Christian sudah mencoba menghubungi, nomer yang tercantum di lembar, kartu nama tersebut. Tapi nihil, sambungan telfon dan pesan chatnya, tidak terkirim dan tidak terjawab.
"Sepertinya, nomer dokter tersebut, sudah berganti." ucap Christian.
"Bisa jadi, karna ini sudah lama sekali, Chris." jawab Juna.
Juna mulai membaca, nama dokter yang ada di kartu nama tersebut, "Dokter Ferdinand Setiawan." Juna membaca perlahan.
"Kapan kita bakal ngebahas ini, sama Sammy?" tanya Christian.
"Nanti malam, bagaimana?"
"Kenapa gak hari ini, aja? Nanti malam, gue ada acara." ucap Christian.
"Sammy lagi KOAS mungkin, Chris. Tapi, gue coba hubungi dia dulu, siapa tahu, dia lagi free," jawab Juna.
Juna mulai mendial nomer Sammy, ia menunggu selama beberapa detik. Baru sambungan telfonnya, terjawab.
"Hallo?" ucap Sammy, di seberang sambungan telfon Juna.

Ara.
Seorang gadis yang memiliki sebuah penyakit turunan dari sang ibu, ia harus melakukan hal lain, untuk dapat mengingat sesuatu. Lalu, sebuah mimpi buruk tiba-tiba hadir di malam-malam tidurnya. Mimpi buruk yang selalu membuatnya merasa ketakutan saat terbangun.
Juna.

"Jadi, kamu cemburu sama tokoh novel? Christ, serius cemburu sama dia?" tanya Yuka sambil menunjuk layar ponselnya.


Christian membuang muka. Yuka tertawa melihat Christian. Rasa cemburu Christian terlalu berlebihan. Sampai ia cemburu pada tokoh fiktif.


Haruna mengerti kenapa Christian bersikap seperti itu. Pria mana pun pasti akan cemburu mendengar kekasihnya menyebut nama laki-laki lain. Namun, Haruna tidak mengerti dengan Tristan. Ia melemparkan tatapan seperti tatapan Christian pada Yuka.


Kenapa dia ikut-ikutan, padahal aku bukan pacarnya, batin Haruna. Tristan juga cemburu mendengar bibir Haruna mengucapkan dan memuji laki-laki lain. Meskipun, pria itu hanya ada di dalam cerita, tapi pujian yang diucapkan Haruna dan Yuka, seakan membakar hati kedua pria itu.


"Eng … Christ, aku harus pulang. Semoga lekas sembuh." Haruna berpamitan kepada Christian.


"Haruna! Nanti malam, bisa temani aku tidak?" tanya Yuka.


Christian dan Tristan menatap tajam ke arah para gadis itu. Namun, kedua gadis itu tidak memedulikan mereka. Haruna mengangguk. "Bisa. Mau ditemani ke mana?"


"Ke mall. Aku mau cari cowok yang mirip sama tokoh novel yang kita baca tadi," ucap Yuka sengaja membuat Christian semakin cemburu.


"Hei! Awas! Kalau kamu berani cari cowok lain, selain aku." Christian mengancam Yuka.


"Boleh, boleh. Kebetulan, aku juga sedang sendiri. Mungkin saja, aku akan menemukan laki-laki tampan seperti MC di novel itu." Haruna ikut menambahkan ucapan yang membuat keruh suasana. Kedua wanita itu tersenyum, sedangkan kedua lelaki di hadapan mereka itu bermuka masam, pandangan mereka juga bagaikan ingin menguliti tubuh Haruna dan Yuka.


"Aku antar Haruna pulang. Besok, kami datang lagi," ucap Tristan.


"Tidak perlu. Besok pagi, aku akan pulang. Kalau mau menjenguk, ke rumah saja," perintah Christian.


"Oh, oke!" Tristan memberikan tanda dengan ibu jarinya. Ia pun pergi menyusul Haruna yang sudah keluar lebih dulu dari ruang rawat Christian.

Stevi masih berbaring di ranjang barunya. Sejak pagi, ia tidak mau keluar dari kamar. Sudah berulang kali, Sarif mengetuk pintu kamar dan menyuruh Stevi untuk makan. Namun, Stevi masih bersikeras tidak mau keluar dari kamar. 


"Neng! Kamu belum makan sejak pagi. Keluar, yuk! Makan dulu, takut sakit," bujuk Sarif.


"Pergi, Rif! Aku ingin sendiri," jawab Stevi dari dalam kamar.


"Kalau aku salah, aku minta maaf. Jangan menyiksa tubuh kamu seperti ini. Kamu baru sembuh dari sakit. Tidak baik kalau mogok makan seperti ini," ucap Sarif.


Stevi terisak. Ia sangat ingin membalas dendam pada suaminya yang telah menyiksanya. Sikap yang Sarif tunjukan padanya, membuat ia ingin tinggal di rumah itu, bersama Sarif.


Haruskah ia melupakan balas dendamnya? Tidak. Stevi tidak mau melakukan itu, Ia ingin membuat tardan dan kekasihnya merasakan penderitaan. Tardan telah membuat ayah Stevi, Bima Hadiwiryo, meninggal, dan perusahaan milik ayahnya telah bangkrut.


Gubrakk!


Sarif mendobrak pintu. Stevi tercengang kaget, ia bangun dan berdiri menatap Sarif di tengah pintu. Sarif menghampiri Stevi lalu memeluknya dengan erat.


"Maaf, aku tidak bisa menahan emosiku. Aku khawatir padamu. Sejak pagi, perutmu kosong. Kumohon! Jangan seperti ini. Kalau aku salah, lebih baik kau pukul aku, tapi jangan menyiksa dirimu sendiri seperti ini," ucap Sarif.


Air mata Stevi menetes. Butiran bening sebening kristal itu meluncur mulus dan terjatuh di bahu Sarif yang sedang memeluknya. Kenapa hatinya justru tersentuh oleh laki-laki lain selain Tristan, tapi di saat dia telah hancur.


"Aku jatuh cinta padamu. Mungkin kau tidak akan percaya, tapi itulah yang aku rasakan. Sejak menemanimu di puskesmas, hatiku tidak tega melihatmu mengigau dan menjerit kesakitan dalam tidur. Awalnya, aku kira itu hanya rasa iba. Tapi, aku sadar, itu bukan iba. Apa yang aku rasakan adalah cinta. Aku mencintaimu, Neng!" tandas Sarif.


"Aku wanita kotor."


"Aku tidak peduli, Neng."


"Aku bukan Neneng!"


"Aku tahu. Tapi, aku tidak peduli. Siapapun dirimu, bagaimana keadaanmu, aku tidak peduli. Aku hanya ingin kamu tetap bersamaku," ucap Sarif. Ia mengendurkan pelukannya dan membelai rambut Stevi dengan penuh perasaan.


Terenyuh hatinya. Semakin dilema hatinya menerima ungkapan cinta dari Sarif. Tidak bisa dipungkiri, Stevi merasa nyaman dalam pelukan Sarif. Ia merasa bahagia berada di samping laki-laki itu. Ia juga merasakan hal yang sama dengan Sarif.


"Aku juga mencintaimu. Tapi, aku merasa tak pantas mendapatkan cinta tulusmu. Bagaimana aku bisa menerima perasaanmu , sementara aku telah membohongimu. Pria sebaik kamu, tidak pantas untukku," ucap Stevi terisak sedih.


"Siapa bilang aku laki-laki yang jujur. Aku juga bukan laki-laki bersih seperti dalam pikiranmu. Aku mohon, jika kau memang mencintaiku. Menikahlah denganku!"


Stevi mendorong tubuh Sarif sampai pelukan Sarif terlepas. Bagaimanapun, Stevi adalah wanita yang telah menikah. Ia harus bercerai terlebih dulu dengan suaminya.


"Aku tidak bisa, Rif. Aku tidak bisa," ucap Stevi sambil melangkah mundur menjauhi Sarif.


"Kenapa tidak? Kau bilang, kau juga mencintaiku? Lalu, kenapa tidak bisa?" tanya Sarif emosional.


"Karena aku sudah mempunyai suami. Aku tidak bisa menikah denganmu, sebelum bercerai dengan suamiku," jawab Stevi.


Sarif tertegun mendengar Stevi sudah menikah. Jadi, dia sudah menikah? tanya Sarif dalam hati. Dia tidak mau menjadi perusak rumah tangga orang. Jika memang Stevi sudah memiliki suami, Sarif akan mengembalikan ia pada suaminya.


"Jadi, kamu tidak hilang ingatan?"


"Tidak. Maaf, aku sudah berbohong," jawab Stevi, menyesal. Ia tidak bisa membohongi Sarif lebih lama lagi. Pria sebaik dia, tidak pantas dibalas dengan kebohongan.


"Kalau begitu, kamu pasti ingat, di mana rumahmu, siapa suamimu, dan siapa namamu?"


"Ya. Aku ingat semuanya. Maaf," ucap Stevi. Lagi, ia merasa sangat bersalah telah membohongi orang yang sudah menyelamatkan dan merawatnya dengan tulus.


"Baiklah. Besok, aku akan mengantarmu pulang dengan selamat. Selamat malam," pungkas Sarif. Ia pergi ke kamarnya. Ia sangat kecewa. Bukan karena Stevi membohonginya, tapi karena Stevi tidak bisa menjadi miliknya. Stevi telah menjadi milik orang lain.


Sarif patah hati secepat ia jatuh cinta pada Stevi. Kenapa mereka harus dipertemukan, jika hanya untuk saling kehilangan. Sarif harus rela melepaskan cintanya pergi.


Malam itu, dua insan sama-sama merasakan patah hati. Keduanya melamun di kamar masing-masing. Baik Stevi maupun Sarif, mereka tidak dapat memejamkan matanya. 


"Haruskah aku jujur padanya? Haruskah aku menceritakan semuanya pada Sarif?" Hatinya bertanya-tanya dengan bimbang. Apa yang akan Sarif pikirkan tentangnya, jika ia menceritakan semua kisah hidupnya? Stevi menimbang-nimbang, apakah ia harus jujur? Atau pergi saja dari rumah Sarif tanpa harus menceritakan semuanya.

We started walking down the mountain without any of us talking about the issues that Christian encountered. I didn't even try to ask him another question when knowing that he's suffering from that and I don't want him to think that I meddling his personal life. 

"Why are you so quiet?" He asked. 

"I don't want you to think that I'm interfering with your personal life or your problem so I choose to keep quiet than to ask more," I said as I grasp my shoulder strap. 

"How about you?" I hummed. 

"You love your shop but haven't you try other things?" 

"I want to be a writer but I don't know when will I start my story," I explain. 

"Why don't you try to write some novel? I know your parents will be so proud of you when you release your own novel." He said as he gave me a smile. 

"My novel? I think that's a great idea." I thought to myself. 

It's my dream to release my own novel to share my story with other people that could give inspiration to my story. The story behind me. But the problem is I don't have any inspiration from doing my novel. 

"You can publish your love story. A true story that could inspire all your readers." I smile at him and nodded.

"I will do that someday," I said.

"Look, we're near to the lake." He said while pointing on the lake. I jumped in excitement, I hold Christian's hand and run along with him so we could reach the lake faster. 

The water in the lake is very clean and fresh, you can see the underneath of the lake of how clear the water it is, I can also see my reflection. I looked at Christian, who's getting his bag down. 

"Do you want to swim now?" I asked him. He shakes his head as he leans his back on the tree so he could rest from waddling but I couldn't let that pass. 

I run towards him as I hold his wrist and pushed him to the lake. "No! Don't push me on the lake! My shoes would be soaked in the water!" He cries out but I ignore him and pushed him to the water. All the splash coming from my direction when he falls on the water. I laughed at him when noticing him glaring at me. 

I start to run away from him when he strived to hustle me. "You can't get away from me!" Christian shouts as he runs faster to get me.

I yelped when his wet arms wrap around my body and heave me to the cold water along with him. I shivered when the cold water dashes through my body. 

"It's cold!" I clamor as I shove Christian's shoulder. He just laughed at me and splash the water on my face. I cough when accidentally swallow the water from the lake. I wipe the water out of my face and glared at Christian.

"Ohh, you want a fight, huh? I'll give that fight you want." I announced as I spatter the water on his face and he fights back. We both very wet and laughing at the same time. We're like in a battle that no one wants to lose the fight.

"Okay, my eyes hurt. We can stop now." I said To Christian as I got out of the lake and sit beneath the tree. Within a minute, Christian joined with me and sit beside me. 


"Do you think we should get back at the bungalow?" I asked him but he shrugs his shoulder, responding to my answer. 

"I think they are playing on the beach." He asserted. When the cold breeze tickled my body, I felt quivers darting through my body so I clutch myself to feel my warmth. Christian glances at me with his eyes full of concern.

"You should change your clothes." I nodded as I get my bag and wanders to the place so I could change my clothes. I set my bag on the ground, along with my clothes and a big towel, I place the towel around me so I could have my clothes one by one. 

My body froze when the bushes striding and heeding the footsteps coming from me so I clasp the stick to protect me from the someone or animals that could oppress me. 

"W...Who's there?" I asked as my eyes wander around the place but no one answered.

The bushes continue to stride and the footsteps reaching near to me. I screamed when someone appears from nowhere and covering my face using my hand and didn't bother to look who's tapping my shoulder. 

"AHHH! WHY ARE YOU NAKED? I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS!" I heard a howl coming from somewhere. 

My eyes widen when realizing that I let go of my towel just to cover my eyes. I immediately settle my towels around my body before looking to the person who just appeared from somewhere. 

"WHY ARE YOU ALL HERE?!" I screamed when seeing my friends covering their eyes knowing that I'm naked.

"Did you cover yourself?" Jasper asked me.

"Yes, you can look now," I said. 

"I'll assist you to cover yourself so you could change your clothes," Jennie said as she reaches the towel and covers my body. 

After changing my clothes, I walked to their direction and hit their head.

"THAT HURTS!" Theo cried as he caressed his head, where I hit his head. 

"What are you all doing here?" I asked them. Justin got my bag on the ground.

"Well, we followed you and Christian to see if there's progress."

"Progress of what?" They just hummed.

"Nothing. Let's go, I think your loverboy is waiting for you." Theodore said. 

They all patted my shoulder and gave me a wink before walked out of the woods and went to the lake. They left me behind, dumbfound. 

"What are they talking about?" I asked myself as I follow them behind.

Ariel's grand father is an old man in her later 60's. He already lost his son and daughter in law, he is not ready to loss this grand daughter. 

Even though she never agreed in anything with him, he still loved her so much after all he only has this grand daughter to dote on.

For ariel, the way seem too long to come. All the while she travel she thought about her life. The man she loved, his parents whom she thought as her own were all fake.

All this while it seems they were acting to make her a fool and get her property. She thought at last she got a family to be with alas all proved wrong.

She became a laughing stock in the society for the mistakes she had never committed. All the while they are travelling, her life became more clearer to her.

Looking outside the car window, her misty eyes became more clearer with the determination to get a revenge for the days she struggled. 

Only she knew who she survived in that dull room with no ventilator. Countless times she got suicidal thoughts but still her will power made survive.

All the torture and humiliation she felt in that house is nothing compared to the feeling she got deceived by that scum bag. All the hard work and struggle she did in the company is nothing now.

She even left her ambition of becoming one of the best actresses in the world to help him is a joke now. The more she thought about all this, the more she felt how stupid and naive she was.

Ariel felt like she is travelling with no aim until she reached her uncle's house. As soon as she came out of the car, there stood a big mansion which she buried under her memories long ago.

All the emotions she buried deep under her heart were brewing up all at once. The day she fought with her uncle and left the mansion is still vivid in her memories. 

When she was hesitating to walk more thinking up all these things, peter holding her hand gestured her to move into the house.

Her grandfather is pacing to and fro in the living room. When she came into view, her grandfather felt flabbergasted.

The one and only grand daughter of his suffered like this in that house, the thought itself made him fare up with anger.

Holding her hand and making her sit on the sofa he said,"finally you are out of that cruel man's clutches, christian call the family doctor.

Look at her bruises, they need to be treated as early as possible. You left your career wealth even this old man only to came back like this.

aah, ariel what have you done to yourself. I have been waiting for you come back to me but never wished it to be like this."

Leaving her hand he further added,"christian i want that bastard to be out of the entertainment circle before he even understand what is happening with him.

And also that little shameless woman with him, i want her to disappear from this city as well".

Novel coughed vigorously finishing his words, christian was concerned with his health so he rubbing his back added, calm done uncle, its all fine as she has reached to us. 

Take it easy there, how old are you. We don't want one more person to be bed ridden now don't we..? come on ariel, don't be like docile woman.

With her grand father's words she almost teared up but listening to her uncle's words, she understood it's not the time for all this. There's no use in crying over the spilled milk.

All she has to do now is to make her stronger, more stronger to defeat them. With much difficult she sat up on the sofa and moved towards her grand father.

 wiping novel's tears ariel said, "gramps, don't be so heartbroken at my situation. This is all for my good. If something like this won't happen to me, i will not be able to stand up in this cruel society".

Listening to her words, her grand father laughed and agreed to her. In the mean while doctor came and checked her. She informed her to take more rest in these days. 

Importantly she shouldn't allow to take any stress over the upcoming days. The doctor looked at christian and signaled him for a private talk.

 Novel feeling happy that those wounds were not critical he stayed to accompany his grand daughter.

The doctor and christian went to his study saying there is something important about business to speak. Novel didn't anything odd in them and let them go.

He is more than happy to accompany his grand daughter after many years. Its been more than 3 years she left their house.

As soon as they reach christian's study room, the doctor Mr, evan directly came to the point saying ariel body is not in good condition.

"Christian i don't know how to convey this to you, she recently went through an abortion and i believe she is not married yet. The way the abortion process handled is quite rough.

Her body is also very weak with no proper food and rest. It seems she may not be a mother in the future, am not sure.

I think she needs to go to an gynecologist expert, once she gets her whole body check up, then only we can come to a conclusion.

Its up to you whether to inform to her or not. Whatever you decide keep in mind about her mental condition.

Her mental condition is also not quite good, she may have suicidal thoughts here and there. Be careful and stay with her most of the times -- the doctor concluded.

Christian was blank for a second but he recovered and said, "but she was fine just before the check up. Fine we will go for a check up now itself."

Saying so christian called one of his friends to get an appointment for the check up. Christian has very trusted friends in the medical circle, it's not that difficult to get a gynecology check up.

After fixing an appointment, he came into ariel's room. He saw novel is taking to his grand daughter while ariel looking into emptiness. Christian is quite worried looking at her.

There will be no use blaming themselves, instead they have to make sure to cure her before it was late. Convincing novel to take rest for the day, he took ariel to the hospital.

The Larsen hospital is one of the best hospitals in the country and are best known for their maintaining secrecy about the patients. The equipment is already even before they reach the hospital.

The nurse and doctor were waiting for ariel. Ariel didn't ask anything on the way to the hospital, she was already on the verge of losing her sanity thinking about all the things.

It took more than an hour to complete all the tests on her body and they shifted her into an vip ward. The doctor asked christian to stay back with her.

Christian waited calmly for the doctor to inform the results. Since the patient was recommended by their chairman it didn't took long to get the results. 

After one more hour, the doctor asked him to come into her cabin. She greeted him and informed -- "Mr. evans even though we don't encourage this type of urgency, you made a good thing by bringing her to the hospital.

Be more brave, the result is not good. It seems she had a rough sex life and her uterus is ruptured due to abortion. The abortion is handled in a quite  unhealthy way.

I will be straight forward with you, there is only 60-40 chances for her to become a mother in the future. Precisely to say there's only 40% chances to become a mother.

She is also not mentally stable, i advise you to take care of her and arrange a psychiatrist treatment for her.

Christian never thought he will listen such type of words for his niece. He was quite nervous to inform this things to ariel. 

The man who never shook for any situation came towards him is first time being paranoid thinking of his niece condition.

He went to her room in a daze, echoing the doctor's words in his mind. He don't even remember how he reached the vip ward. 

When he reached, ariel is still the same, looking into emptiness. He decided to end all her hopes of getting back with him.

Ariel, listen to me carefully, your body is not well due to the torture you gone through. You will also might not be able to become a mother in this life.

Stop hiding yourself in the pretense of not being mentally stable. we can't change our past but not the present. 

He shouted "come on get up, this is not the time to suffer silently, you have to make that scum bag suffer for all your hurdles. your uncle and grand father will back you up".

Caressing her face,"come on stop being like this for god's sake". Saying so he went and stood on the window".

Ariel shredded her tears silently for a long time, later on she called him "uncle, i have decided this will be the last day i will shred tears for what happened to me".

Uncle from tomorrow you will see a new ariel, saying so she gave an eerie smile.

Ariel, who dreamed of a beautiful life with her high school sweetheart, is shocked to know his true nature.

Moreover, she gave up a bright future to be with her prince charming, whereas the prince charming is planning to marry his princess, which is not Ariel.

	Jane Eyre is a widely popular novel, and perhaps besides being a fantasy romance between a rich employer and an underprivileged woman it also addresses the issues of social and divine justice. Jane Eyre experiences a deprived childhood and is shabbily treated by Aunt Reed, who later experiences retribution for her cruelty towards Jane as she dies miserably and abandoned by her children who squander her wealth and come to no good end. Perhaps the attraction of the novel comes from the fact that Jane Eyre climbs the ranks of class through her own education and effort and is thus a self-made woman rather than someone privileged who makes use of social connections to climb socially, like Blanche Ingram, who is depicted unflatteringly as a class snob who is pretentious, haughty and odious. With bold grit and determination, Jane Eyre raises herself through education to emerge from poverty and attracts the attention of her master at Thornfield Mr Rochester, which enables her to rise socially through marriage. 

The connection of romance:
Though attempts at a first marriage are thwarted by the presence of Bertha Mason, Mr Rochester’s insane wife, a second attempt at marriage succeeds since the first marriage is annulled by the occurrence of the death of Bertha Mason. Indeed Charlotte Bronte herself declares of the novel “Convention is not morality”. This can be seen from the unflattering depictions of Mrs Reed who is depicted as a cruel tyrant, Mr Brocklehurst who is depicted as an unjust Christian hypocrite, and St John, who seeks to imprison Jane in a loveless marriage to further his missionary ambitions. The key to Jane’s rejection of St John is that he does not view her as an individual with a right to her own opinions and emotions, merely as a tool to further his missionary ambitions and as such entails a marriage devoid of love and passion, the kind of fiery passion and ardour Jane experiences with Mr Rochester. This passion connects them with such a strong cemented bond that Jane Eyre psychically hears Mr Rochester’s calls for her at the exact moment he does physically call for her even though they are separated by a great distance.
Divine Justice:
Indeed we witness in the novel the enacting of divine justice as Mrs Reed experiences retribution for her cruelty toward Jane and comes to a bitter end and Jane eventually inherits a fortune that enables her to stand up to Mr Rochester as an equal, not an employee or inferior. Perhaps Bronte’s comment here is that character is not a function of class, as Jane, though initially impoverished is morally superior to Mrs Reed who ill-treats her because of her poverty and orphaned state. Jane Eyre climbs socially through her own efforts at education and her excellence professionally as a governess which gains the attention of her brooding employer Mr Rochester, who after a string of a failed marriage and decadent affairs with mistresses, recognizes in Jane an intellectual equal though she is socially inferior to him. It is Jane Eyre’s resilience in character and rigour in intellect which attracts Mr Rochester to Jane, she stands above the string of hollow women he has experienced in the forms of his depraved wife and subsequent mistresses as well as the potential emptiness and shallowness of Blanche Ingram who is vapid and thinks wealth is all the measure of a person’s worth.
Jane Eyre’s transcendence of class:
Indeed Jane stands in a superior position to Mr Rochester when she rejects his offer to make her his mistress. While in love with him, she is not beneath morality and the laws of God to refuse him and involve herself with bigamy with a married man. Indeed she declares that she alone cares for herself as she always has from childhood, she refuses to be taken advantage of and brought to ruin in the eyes of religion and her God just to please the decadent Mr Rochester. Yet their romance is a passionate one as she is sexually and intellectually attracted to Mr Rochester, a Byronic figure and a romantic who like her knows passion and ardour for what it is and experiences a strong attraction to her because of her character and intellect, not for mere looks as it is made clear that Jane Eyre is a plain looking woman, unattractive by most standards, a quality which applied to Mr Rochester as well, who with his shaggy locks and high forehead is unappealing physically to most. Their romance survives because of its intensity, Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester are mutually attracted in a love which transcends class and mere appearance, mere superficialities in their eyes, as a mutual passion and regard as well as respect for each other, though Mr Rochester does not heed the morality of his proposed union with Jane initially and is duly punished by the divine in being blinded and maimed, which Jane tends to as his partner and aide eventually.
The romance between Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester is thus a transcendent one which goes beyond mere class or looks to being a mutual attraction of character and intellect, which accounts for its intensity and steadfastness as it is able to withstand a long period of separation by time and space to their eventual union where Jane Eyre declares “Reader, I married him.” A bold affirmation that genuine love and passion is something which transcends mere class and looks, Jane Eyre is a revolutionary text in the declaration of the female as being an equal counterpart of the male. This comes as Jane Eyre declares her eventual equal standing with Mr Rochester in their marriage. Indeed, Jane Eyre and Mr Rochester are spiritually attune and akin as Jane Eyre calls herself “his likeness”.
Jane Eyre is then a text that is unusual for its time because it enables the protagonist to transcend her class and climb socially by virtue of her merit. Indeed the text had been declared anti-Christian on the grounds that Jane Eyre, of impoverished and deprived circumstances originally, manages to climb the social ranks upwards towards gentility by virtue of her merit. In many ways this discloses the rigid delineation of class and fortune during the Victorian period. It discloses the extent of class oppression and hierarchy that held during that time. 
What then makes the work unusual is that social status can be transcended through merit and fortunes reversed through the demonstration of character. Indeed it may be argued that it is divine providence that enables Jane Eyre to climb social rank because it is the allure of her character and intellect which draws Mr Rochester to her in place of the haughty Blanche Ingram. It is also God’s favour through endowing her with an inheritance that enables her to match Mr Rochester’s fortune so she is able to stand before him as an equal at the end.
Indeed the main statement of the novel is that character is not a function of class. It is shown that Jane Eyre, while being born impoverished, is not lacking in character or integrity because she comes from a low social standing initially. Her fortitude in battling the injustices of Aunt Reed shows strength and resilience of character and it is shown that class is a factor that can be transcended rather than determined from one’s origin.
Indeed that the text is declared immoral and unchristian on the grounds that class can be transcended reveals the depth of rigid and fossilized attitudes towards class delineation in the Victorian Age. It remains highly ironic that Christianity is only a religion of the rich upon this view as Jesus’ ministry was always towards the poor and destitute in society. We see this in Jesus’ account of Lazarus, the poor man who died and rose to heaven while a rich man, upon dying, found himself in hell because he had enjoyed comfort and privilege during his lifetime. In the Sermon of the Mount, Jesus also directly insinuated that the poor are more blessed in spirit than the rich as he says that the poor in spirit are blessed. 
More parables include the parable of the rich man who accumulated and hoarded much wealth for himself, only to find that God was going to take his life away from him that night and deemed him a fool as he had only accumulated riches for himself without paying heed to the needy and those in need of his help in God’s kingdom. Hence it is a tremendous irony that during the Victorian age, Christianity was deemed a religion of the rich as they were deemed blessed by God’s providence. Christ’s ministry was always towards the poor, outcast and marginalized of society and hence Jane Eyre’s overcoming of her impoverished circumstances through fortitude is in my consideration as Christian an outcome as any other as God does not look favourably upon the rich oppressing the poor as the divine retribution that Aunt Reed suffers shows and the story of Lazarus and the poor man shows. 
The novel thus can be read as a critique of 19th century England in there was a high level of social pretension and class snobbery. Bronte can be read as being feminist and Marxist before her time because she sees beyond class distinctions and gender discrimination because Jane Eyre proves herself to be Rochester’s intellectual equal and not inferior to him on any account because of her class or gender. It is then shown that while gender and class barriers had initially placed Rochester in a place of privilege towards Jane, he finds himself falling for her because of her candour, honesty and intellect.Bronte then can be read as a feminist ahead of her times as she does not view women as intellectually or morally subordinate to men though this is indeed the circumstance women find themselves in during 19th century England.Bronte is then a bold precursor of what was eventually to become the feminist movement, which did not view females as sex objects solely for the purposes of marriage or morally and intellectually inferior to males though law and religion as well as society had inscribed them as such.
Bronte’s text is then radical in foreshadowing Marxism and feminism as well as defying what was viewed as Christian during the Victorian age, to delineate classes rigidly as well as determine that these classes were constructed by God’s providence and were to remain rigidly ossified from birth till death. In this sense, the social mobility of Jane Eyre is to be deemed quite revolutionary since it was insinuated that it remained a matter of Christian morality when it came to which class one belonged to.
What the novel explicitly demonstrates is that God’s providence and blessing extends to the rich and poor alike. While the rich rule over the poor in this life it is demonstrated that God can deliver one from poverty and class oppression, as the circumstances of Jane Eyre’s rise to riches show while Aunt Reed is brought low because of her shabby treatment of Jane Eyre.
Divine providence is then shown to extend to all regardless of circumstance, whether rich or poor. Indeed it is arguably Jane Eyre’s demonstration of character and resilience which enables her to earn God’s favour and experience a reversal in fortunes while Aunt Reed, while born rich, experiences divine retribution for oppressing the poor.
I would not venture to say that Bronte is anti-capitalist though she foreshadows Marxism because it is Jane Eyre’s fortune to be eventually blessed with an inheritance. What Bronte does however work against is any Christian notion that one’s fortunes were a function of one’s character, and ironically it is on these grounds that the text is labelled immoral and unchristian. Indeed, character is not a function of class and God’s riches and mercy are shown to extend to both the rich and the poor, as Jane Eyre’s rise in fortune demonstrates.
Bronte believed art was most convincing when based on personal experience; in Jane Eyre she transformed the experience into a novel with universal appeal. Commercially it was an instant success, and initially received favourable reviews. Critic G. H. Lewes wrote that it was "an utterance from the depths of a struggling, suffering, much-enduring spirit", declaring it to be "suspiria de profundis!" (sighs from the depths).The book's style was innovative, combining naturalism with gothic melodrama, and broke new ground in being written from an intensely first-person female perspective. Speculation about the identity of Currer Bell and whether the author was male or female heightened with the publication of Emily's Wuthering Heights by "Ellis Bell" and Anne's Agnes Grey by "Acton Bell".Accompanying the speculation was a change in the critical reaction to Charlotte's work and accusations were made that the writing was "coarse", a judgment more readily made once it was suspected that "Currer Bell" was a woman However sales of Jane Eyre continued to be strong, and may have increased as a result of the novel developing a reputation as an 'improper' book.
Charlotte Bronte’s success in Jane Eyre then demonstrates that there was a demand for fiction in which gender and class boundaries were transcended as these proved to be oppressive categories for Victorian women. The supposed ‘immorality’ of the novel is then its purported weapon as Bronte deems class an insignificant aspect of a person when it comes to overcoming one’s fortune of gender subordination, as Jane Eyre’s rise in fortune demonstrates.
