Christian's POV
"YOU GOT HER WHAT!" Tim yelled when I told him about Sacha being pregnant. We were having coffee in my office as usual. It was Monday and I still didn't have the courage of telling Audrey the truth which was pathetic of me because I at least owed her that.
"Man, this is messed up and disastrous on your path. And you told her to go through with the pregnancy? What would happen when Audrey and your mother hears this, bro?" He went on.
"You do realized that Audrey and my mother aren't the boss of me, right?" I asked him as I twirled the cup of coffee on the desk.
"What did I miss?" Kevin walked into the room.
"Mr. 'Ding a Ling' here got the black girl pregnant." Tim answered.?
"Why you got to say her complexion instead of just using her name. Her name is Sacha. Not the 'Black girl'. I narrowed my eyes and glared at him.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry." He quickly defended.
"Yeah man, show some damn respect!" Kevin snapped as he too was a colored man.
"Yeah, well, I ought get back to my station anyway." Tim said. He got up and walked out of the room, leaving me with Kevin.
"Hey man, what's really going on? Are you leaving Audrey for Sacha?" He asked me.
I shook my head no. "I got Sacha pregnant. I'm responsible, but I'm revisiting that abortion option. Sacha is just twenty one and she got a sister to take care of. I can't play house with Sacha and a baby at the same time. I'm with Audrey. But then again, I don't want to rob an innocent unborn child of his or hers future because I'll always feel guilty and I wouldn't be able to live with that. Kevin, I don't know what to do."
"Do the right thing, Christian. I know this isn't my place but why are you really with Audrey when you're not even in love with her?"
"Of course I'm in love with her or else I wouldn't be marrying her."
"Although you've been friends with Tim longer, I believe I know you as well. When you talk about Audrey, it's always more like a complain than an expression. When you talk about Sacha, you light up and a smile appears. I know you said she's nothing more than a 'benefit' but is she really?" And with that, Kevin walked out of the room and left me thinking.
Later that evening, when I got home from work, I found Audrey in the kitchen having a glass of juice.
"Hey, how was your day?" I asked her.
"I went shopping."
"For the wedding?"
"Well, you could say that but it was mainly for a few family members. They don't have wedding attires so I thought I'd get them some. I used your card by the way."
"Of course you did." I told her and poured myself a glass of juice also before loosening my neck tie and removing my jacket.
"Audrey, there's something I have to tell you."
"What is it?"
"It's about Sacha."
"What about her? I thought I told you to end things between the both of you!" Her shouted.
"And I did but it's not that simple anymore."
"Why not? Is she planning on blackmailing you because I swear to God, I'm going to..."
"She's pregnant!" I blurted out.
Audrey fell silent. She turned pale in the face. I watched attentively.
"Is the baby yours?" She asked after five long minutes.
"Yes."
"Okay. We'll handle this. Abortions these days are super easy and private. We'll get a good doctor and..."
"Audrey, Audrey!" I shouted to get her attention.
"What!" She shouted back.
"I'm not letting her have an abortion."
"WHAT!"
"I can't do that."
"You can't do what? Let your side chick have an abortion? This is all your fault and I'm always stuck in the middle of your mess!"
Audrey, let's not play the blame game right now."
"Maybe if you had wrapped your dick up, some leech wouldn't be pregnant with your baby!"
"What's with all the ruckus?" My mother asked, walking into the kitchen. I had forgotten she was even here. She had the chicken bone removed from her throat by the doctors and she was discharged yesterday.
"Nothing mom. Go back to bed." I covered up.
"No, she ought to hear this." Audrey disagreed.
"Audrey..."
"Christian had been cheating. And the girl he was cheating on me with is now pregnant with his baby." Audrey filled my mother in.
"What?" My mother screeched. Her throat was sore for the bone incident.
"Mom..." But she held up her hand at me, indicating that I should shut the hell up.
"How could you do this to Audrey? She's been nothing but good to you all these times. You think you're going to replace her with some filth you've been having an affair with? Over my dead body, Christian. You and Audrey are going to get married and there's only two options for that baby. You either abort it or strip that girl of all her parenting rights and raise that baby with Audrey when that child is born."
"I'm not going to abort my unborn child and I'm definitely not going to strip Sacha of her parenting rights either. That child has to know who his or her mother is. What kind of monster do you think I am?"
"Shut up Christian! Just shut it!" Mother snapped. "You're so shallow these days. It's no wonder you knocked up someone who doesn't fit into our lifestyle!"
"Our lifestyle? There's only one billionaire in this room, and that's me, but you know what, you can have the house because I'm leaving!" I put my jacket on again and walked out of the kitchen with the both of them tugging at my arms, trying to get me to stay.?
I got into my car.
"Christian! Don't you dare start that engine!" Audrey yelled.
I started the engine.
"Christian, don't you drive out that gate!" My mother yelled now.
I stepped on the gas and drove out the gate as quick as lightning. I wanted to visit Sacha but I found myself heading to a different house.
"Hey man, I got your text. Come on in." Kevin gestured when I knocked on his door.
"Thanks bro." I answered and stride on in. We made a beeline for the bar where he poured me a shot of brandy.
"You told her?" He asked me, stirring a pot on the stove.
"Yeah."
"How did she take it?"
"It's Audrey. How you think she'd take it."
We chuckled.
"Man, I'm not surprise but at least you were honest about it."
"She told me that Sacha should have an abortion and when I told her no, she flipped and ratted to my mother."
"Messy."
"Yeah." I replied and drank my shot of brandy.
"But you've got to come to a decision quickly, bro. This isn't something you can run away from."
"Oh, I'm planning on staying here all week." I said with a laugh.
"Your wedding is on Saturday, Christian." Kevin turned towards me.
Damn it! How could I forget my own wedding?

“Pregnant?” Faith asked and scrunched up her nose. It was difficult to see whether she was surprised, disgusted, or perhaps even happy but also her reaction was better than expected. 

“You secured the bag just like that?” Faith asked and ran towards me to hug me while Luna still had a confused look on her face and was trying to process everything that was going on. “I had no idea you guys were close like that.” 

Close? Even though I had started to get used to the idea of co-parenting we had a long way to go until we would be near close. “They obviously aren’t, the baby is a mistake.” Luna suddenly said and created an awkward vibe in the living room. 

Yes, it was unplanned, but going as far as calling it a mistake? Unlike Faith, she had shown signs of her being pissed and I was extremely confused because it wasn’t even her child, to begin with. “Don’t listen to her, I think you’ll make a great mommy and I know I’ll make a great aunt.” 

Faith words had calmed me down and gave me even more confidence. I also knew that I could do this and even if Christian would’ve said to want nothing to do with my pregnancy I would’ve worked through the day and night to give my baby the life I never had. 

“Don’t get me wrong because I really don’t wanna ruin your day, but I’m being honest here. We all know what kind of guy Christian is and you saying he agreed to responsibility doesn’t really sound like him. After realization really hits him he will throw you and the baby out like a piece of garbage, because if you really think that the Lamberti’s are waiting for a stripper’s grandb-“ 

“Luna, I think you’ve said enough!” Faith yelled at her. I was grateful for Faith because I never would’ve done so myself. I didn’t have any friends in the first place so I was always afraid of crossing the line with the friends that I did have. 

“Serena, I’m just looking out for you because I don’t want to end up saying, I told you so. Do you even realize that he’s in the mafia? Working at the club is one thing, but actually living with him and putting yourself— and your baby in danger for some cash... 

You can do this on your own and we will help you.” Luna said, and I did not know whether it was an apology or not because she had only made it worse. 

“It’s not your job to help, it’s Christian, he’s the father so I can accept his help and only his help,” I explained to her. 

It bothered me that she was talking to me like I was some little kid who hadn’t thought this through. Christian’s occupation and the baby’s safety was the first thing that had crossed my mind, but he was still alive, his brothers were still alive and even his grandparents were still alive, meaning there was no reason for me to worry. What was the worst thing that could happen? 

“So you’re basically telling me that I’m irresponsible?” I asked her and noticed that the little bit of happiness I was feeling had vanished. What if I was wrong? 

“I’m telling you that you should do whatever you want, but you should run while you still can. You should run before you give birth and he suddenly decides to raise the baby with some clapped bitch while he kicks you onto the streets!” Luna said, earning herself a slap on her cheek from Faith. “It’s the truth though.” She managed to make her point clear. 

I had never seen that scenario as an option but it did sound pretty accurate. Christian had no legit reason to wanting to help me out and despite gaining my trust it would not be an advantage to him in a single way. If he eventually wanted to have full custody I would never stand a single chance against him. 

“Faith, what do you think?” I asked her this time. I didn’t know whether Luna was being petty, because something told me that her reaction would be like this regardless of who the father would’ve been, but Faith was different and even though I hated to admit it Luna did had some solid points. 

“Well, on second thought you should live your life far away in another town, find a stable job, and demand a fat check from him. It is indeed a bit sketchy.” Faith had suddenly agreed. 

But what about Lucio? He had always been very supportive of me and did not seem like the type of person to let his son steal a baby from Its mother. Lucio was almost like the father I never had and wouldn’t allow that, right? 

“So I shouldn’t move in with him?” I asked one last time, hoping someone would slip up and tell me I should because that would’ve made my life a whole lot easier, but Faith and Luna gave each other a look before they turned their heads back towards me. 

“Don’t you think it’s a bit sketchy? Just be careful okay.” Luna warned me and placed her hand on top of mine. 

“Now enough about that man, Luna what are your bets, nephew or niece?” Faith spoke trying to change the subject. I was grateful for what she was trying to do but it was already too late. All of my doubts had returned, including the one about my parenting skills. Moving in with Christian without even trying to handle the situation myself? Was that something a good parent would do? How would I know when I never had them. 

“It’s a girl, stop cracking your brains and by the way, we are in charge of your gender reveal and baby shower, godmother is completely up to you so no pressure,” Luna spoke. 

“Yes, I won’t choke you if you choose Luna!” Faith warned me and moved her face close to mine. For a second I forgot about the worries and laughed at their enthusiasm. I wasn’t even that far ahead but they were already planning things. 

“Okay, deal.” I smiled back and tried to hide my sadness. This was supposed to be a happy moment, but all I could think about was Christian and the family I didn’t have. After Christian’s promise, I was so confident that he would be helping out and that everything would go according to plan, but now I was unsure. 

At times like these, everyone had a family to turn to, and I had no one. I was extremely grateful for Faith and even Luna but I was not waiting for an I told you so. Instead, I had longed for someone to wipe away my tears, someone to tell me that everything would be alright, someone who would stick by me and not let go. 

I couldn’t help but think that Luna’s words were the harsh truth. It was what I had concluded myself when I found out about my pregnancy, but Marc had eventually changed my mind. Maybe he was right, he did know Christian way longer than I did but even Marc did not know how things would turn out. 

Yes, Christian had promised to help me out if I moved in with him but ever since a young age I had learned that promises can be broken and that at the end of the day you shouldn’t depend on anyone but yourself. 

I looked down at my stomach and suddenly thought about the future consequences of my actions. It could go both ways. If I were to reject his offer I would struggle to raise the baby on my own and he could steal my baby away from me but if I accepted, I would probably live like a puppet in fear of us being in danger which would end up with the same outcome as the first option. 

No matter what I did, I was still screwed... 

While Faith was gushing about the idea of being an auntie and spoiling the child to rotten, I was worried about what would be the best for my baby. All my worries had vanished until Luna had opened my eyes again. 

I grew up without both of my parents and I did not want my baby to grow up without a parent, but what I did know was that I would be keeping my baby one way or another and that no one would steal it away from me or train it to be some kind of monster or whatever it was Christian was doing. 

Tomorrow I would go back to Christian and tell him my terms. I would tell him that whatever sick plan he had if he even had one, was not going to work. If I were to live with him and raise the baby together we would do it under my terms. 

Tomorrow would be the true test of Marc’s words. If Christian was so ‘misjudged’ as he claimed to be then that would mean that Christian would agree to all my terms, right? 

Because he made a promise not to bail on me...

Lord Durham and his wife were astounded by their daughter's behavior. She had almost managed to hurt herself even more. Her nose was bleeding and the constant slaps she was giving herself made everyone second her mental well-being. She continued to scratch her skin. 'Stupid stupid'?is the only word she repeatedly muttered. The couple were angrier with her husband for leaving her this way. Leaving the children knowing their mother was very unwell.
"Mother, I quite like sex with other men." Lady Tracy continued to laugh at her mother's horrified reaction. She then continued to call herself stupid multiple times. "William has a child with a negro girl."
"Tracy!!" Lord Durham, her father warned sternly.
"WILLIAM MADE A NEGRO GIRL PREGNANT!!" She yelled with tears. From afar, eleven year old, Liam was overhearing everything through the slightly closed door. His heart skipped a beat, some memories came back to him some clear and some very unclear. He was only five, he did not know if it actually happened or his imagination was fooling with him. Many times he found it normal how his father cornered her in the kitchen and gave her kisses that would make her giggle. Many times, he found the small smiles they gave each other when they thought no one was looking. Many times Liam had been forced to take naps and in the midst of them, he would sleepily open his eyes to find a blurry image of her straddling his father and quietly giggling, he always went back to sleep. Anger was what he felt, his father had deceived his mother and now she had gone mental because of it. She was unstable because of him. It hurt him that his father, someone he admired and always looked up to would have done something so horrible to his mother.
"Are you aware that his father passed?" Lord Durham told his daughter who rolled her eyes.
"If this is the truth then I absolutely do not blame my daughter for reacting the way she has. Absolutely nothing hurts than being replaced or the man you love preferring an animal over you. Much worse having an offspring with that anima—" it did not take seconds before he had laid a hand on her despicable mouth. Lord Durham did not condone it and would never condone it. William willingly cheating on his daughter was wrong but simultaneously he understood what it felt like to not be with who you really wanted to be. He had been one of the many socialites who had been signing petitions and so on, appealing to the end of slavery. Not just so his daughter, Mary could leave a comfortable life but because it was inhumane to treat people in such a manor. Things were looking up, signatures were accumulating. Some people were starting to accept that these people were humans as well. Lord Durham was playing a huge role in the campaigns and parliament.
"With every passing day, Gertrude, you test my patience and just one of these days... I will send you packing."
"I apologize." She said quickly.
"You always always apologize. I'm sick and tired of your apologies. You do not support my organizations neither do you support the things I want to archive. You have absolutely no humanity."
The woman only pursed her lips.
"It was very foolish of me to say." She added. She only shook his head before turning to Tracy who was uncomfortably whispering things to herself and giggling. "I have called for the lunatic Asylum to come fetch her. This is far too much for me to deal with."
"You're advocating rights for poor negroes but you're sending your own daughter to those evil and vile chambers where people are absolutely ill treated."
"Gertrude, she is mentally ill and murmurs a whole lot of nonsense."
"But she is a your daughter."
"My daughter who is sick. As far as I'm concerned, I will have a talk with William regarding why he left his kids abruptly with a mad woman." He added. "She probably gets her madness from you, people from my family always happened to be well-poised." He said walking out of the room. Her mouth was left agape, clearly insulted but she didn't voice out her thought... if she did, she would not have a husband or the life she has by tomorrow.
Bawling her eyes because her only weakness was her son and only her son. She had searched for all his usual hiding spots. It greatly angered her how ignorant her mother was. Her mother was far too toxic for her and if she could, she would go far away from here. Lately this environment had not been the most pleasant. It had never been pleasant but she kept strong for her son but it was just fairly harrowing to stay. Her mother had been nothing but cold and very unsupportive, many times... she suggested Panashe drop the baby off at the Gallagher's door step and runaway. She knew, her mother was not excited about Christian but giving the benefit of the doubt... she always thought maybe, just maybe she would have a change of heart. Master Joshua had.
Abruptly wiping her tears when she got to the door. She was desperate, if she could search for him by herself and find him; she would. Panashe thought maybe he would be in the Gallagher mansion, maybe just maybe they had seen him. Firmly trying to compose herself on the porch she couldn't contain every tear that came with every thought. It was almost seven and by now they were probably serving supper.
Finding the courage, she finally did.
Of all the days, Hector just had to be off on this day. She waited before knocking yet again, a little urgently. She was greeted by one of the housekeepers who led her towards the dining hall where everyone was sat, chatting and she hated that she was on the spot. Everyone turned to look at her, she looked horrid, she couldn't have cared any less as long as she found her son. She had assumed that Lady Tracy would be there waiting to abash her in front of everyone. The talk about her, having William's child. There had been none, she was grateful for that. They were doing just fine even before he came, they would be fine still even if he left. He was the first person to pay attention to her. His eyes always found a way to scrutinize her and out her on the spot. They seemed somewhat warm and pleasantly looking at her. He did not speak. She did not either at least not at him.
"I must apologize for disturbing you bu—" she broke into tears, immediately everyone was concerned. Everyone because Gerald and Milton were absent if they had happened to be present... giving sympathy would be the list of their concerns. "Christian ran off. My mother does not know where he is—" William abruptly got up from his chair. He felt the need to protect her and be there for her. She seemed so vulnerable and broke, hiccuping as she spoke. Her hands shaking and eyes inflamed from crying.
"Oh, Panashe... do not worry. Christian is a smart boy, he would not be too far from the ranch. This is the only place he knows, he must not be that far." Lady Martha said going to give her a hug. For those who weren't used to seeing a white woman hug a black woman they sneered as if she must have had a plague. They were not disgusted with her but it was somewhat weird for them to see such a scene. It was far from what they were taught and it just oddly concerned them to watch. Rachel Gallagher could not contain the sneer that curved on her face at the sight of her step mother hugging a negro. She immediately lost her appetite.
William kept his distance when he desperately wanted to hold her.
As if just on time, the Durham's arrived except Tracy and the kids were not there. "How dare you leave your children with a mental woman?" He questioned as soon as the butler had announced his presence not even waiting for the formalities of greetings.
"They're not mine." William said, Panashe was not surprised but she was shocked that he knew? He knew? She assumed he had continued to stay ignorant.
"They're most definitely yours, quit being a bastard." He said with gritted teeth.
"I'd know any child of William just by looking at them with one glance. Those are not his children. Stop bombarding my son who has done nothing but be a good husband to a harlot of a wife." Lady Martha defended.
Tracy's mother immediately started fuming. "We plan on telling everyone that he made a negro pregnant. The court and church and—"
Panashe felt her tears welling up. If they did this, she was sure she would never see her child again. The Gallagher's by law would be forced to keep the child and far from her. It hurt her deeply, she was more worried about where he was than this bicker. For a moment she wished, Master Joshua had not passed. Lord Durham looked at Panashe with so much sympathy.
"He did not." Panashe voiced. "It's not his child."
Tracy's mother only chuckled. "You had the nerve to destroy my daughter's marriage. I will make sure you never see your son again. You messed with the wrong family. We have had it with you Gallagher's and your poor quality slaves. We will—"
"Be quiet, Gertrude!" Lord Durham said clearing his throat.
"Why are you ignoring the fact that your daughter is an adulteress. Liam is not my brother's son. The audacity your daughter had to name her son after my brother!" William's sister, Kathleen defended.
"We're going to bring Liam and Adeline here after the funeral. They're your children and we will not take care of them for you. Tracy is mentally unwell and she is getting some help."
"What part of they're not his children do you not understand Edgar?" Lady Martha yelled now fuming with anger. The servants were now eavesdropping. This was far too interesting for anyone to turn a blind eye on.
Lord Durham pursed his lips. "Until Tracy gives us the name of the fathers, they will stay here with the father they know, the family they know."
"Nonsense!" William's sister, Cynthia added.
"Martha teach your children manors, we will be off. William expect your kids."
"You clearly failed at being a parent with Tracy's shenanigans manifesting as plaid proof. Just who are you Edgar to question my parenting."
"Your son is a rapist." Gertrude Durham said zealously with her arms crossed. "That's enough proof of your parenting skill. Edgar, shall we leave?"
"So is your husband?" Lady Martha spat. "He raped Mary's mother and led her to suicide. We know the truth, that's why his guilt conscience is eating him so much. He is all about fighting for the negros. Check yourself before you step into my home babbling absurdity." She yelled. "Now I have my grandson to look for, if you may excuse us."
Astounded and angry, the Durham's marched out making it known that they weren't very pleased.
"I know where he is, not to worry." Lady Martha said leading Panashe towards the direction of her late husband's study. Opening it, a whiff of Master Joshua's cologne was all over. There was a mahogany table, piling news papers, too many books to read.
Panashe immediately broke into tears when her eyes searched everywhere and her little boy was not there. She was so disoriented that she did not know William was right behind her. He did not know how he could ever fix things with her. Looking at her hurting brought him pain. Memories passed through his mind, she was always so smiley and giggly. He could finally admit how much he missed her and how much time he spent trying not to think about her. Trying to forget analytics her and after all these years, she still had the very same effect she had on him years back. Lady Martha then opened a secret door way towards where Master Joshua kept his safe. A secret room that not many people knew about. In there Christian had his knees close to his chest. Counting... "twenty two, twenty three—"
When his mother called him, he immediately ran to into her arms. Crying he whispered. "I was waiting for grandpa to come fetch me. He said if I'm ever scared I should hide here and wait for him. He did not come..."
This only made Panashe cry.
From afar William felt overwhelmed.
His father had done what he couldn't and it was clear that no one could ever replace the spot his father had taken in his son's life. He envied the admiration that came from his son whenever he spoke of him. He would always be 'bloody William'?clearly his father had not filtered anything. It hurt to know that, his son did not need him. Panashe did not need him. He was not needed. They were fine without him. Perfectly fine!

I almost feel bad about leaving her to go be with the guys, but when I step outside, I quickly realize it's almost as bad out here as it is in there. Rolling my eyes, I lean against the railing. "You guys really believe his stories? I was three, Da. It wasn't exactly scandalous. Everyone else was either doing cartwheels or picking flowers."
"Bah." He waves me off dismissively. "It's always scandalous when yer son whips out his wee peter in front of a crowd."
My friends all laugh, and I just shake my head in amusement. "Where do you think I get it from? Did you tell them the story of how you flashed all those coeds at university when you took off your track pants to run and forgot you only had your tighty-whities on underneath?"
Sammy Marshall practically spits out his beer and immediately starts choking as he laughs. "Seriously?"
"It was only fer a moment," Da argues.
I raise my eyebrow, beer bottle halfway to my mouth. "You were halfway around the track before you realized why a group of college girls were pointing at you, Dadaí."
He waves me off again. "I'm sure they got over it. Campus police called it an honest mistake and let me go."

I don't have a chance to think about it much more as Daniel approaches, handing me another beer.
"How's it feel, knowing this is all for you guys?" He settles in next to me, crossing his feet at the ankles and taking a swig of his drink.
I shake my head with disbelief. "I go back and forth between being excited and terrified and waiting to wake up from the dream. It's surreal."
"Kids are like that. I remember when it finally hit me that I was Chance's dad. I know Erik is his birth dad and all that, but we all know how that is."
We both smirk at his comment. Erik showed up in Quincy's life after she got custody of her nephew, claiming paternity and wanting custody after having nothing to do with any of them before that. It took his mother getting involved to make him realize the best thing for Chance was to leave him where he was and take on a co-parenting role of the baby. Geni getting romantically involved with Erik seemed to help too, being that she's Quincy's best friend. The whole thing is odd, but it works for everyone.
"It was just this weird moment when it suddenly hit me that this little boy was looking to me to be his role model, ya know?" Daniel continues. "That it's my job to love him and care for him and teach him how to be a good man. It's awesome, but yeah. Surreal if you think about it too hard." He points his beer at me. "But you're lucky to have your parents here to help. It makes all the difference in the world."
Blowing out a breath, I nod slowly. "I'm sure it will with my mam. My Da? I'm not so sure."
We look over to see him pinning a button on his shirt. I have no idea where it came from, but it has "Grandpa" written in giant letters. And it lights up.
Turning back to Daniel, I add, "He's a little too excited about being a Daid mór."
Daniel chuckles at the comment. "My mama used to be the same way. My sister, Erika, would bitch all the time about her showing up with food or baby supplies randomly."
"Yeah? What changed?"
He shrugs nonchalantly. "She had thirteen other grandbabies and ran out of time."
Before I can respond, my dad loudly burst out with "Anyone want to help me build a soccer field in yard out there? Me garmhac will be walkin' before ye know it."
Closing my eyes in defeat, I mutter, "I am so screwed."

As I was gathering my laptop bag, purse, car keys, and phone. Suddenly my brother Hardin entered my room without even knocking. 

"Can't you knock before you enter my room?" I said while slipping my phone inside my purse. 

"I don't need permission in my own house." He replied sarcastically while looking around not me. 

"Well, for your kind information mister, You entered my room," I said and walked past him hitting his shoulders. 

"Hey! wait?" Hardin yelled from behind. 

I stopped and turned around and asked him, "what?" 

"Are you going to the office?" 

"Yep, I replied emphasizing the letter 'P'." 

"Okay, I'm coming with you." He said. 

"Why? Where is your car?" I asked. 

"At the moment it's at the mechanic store." 

"Okay," I replied while entering the dining room. 

"Good Morning, dad." I greeted my dad while settling myself in a seat. 

"Morning, baby girl." He replied back. 

I took out a toast from the big plate in front of me and started spreading strawberry jam on it. 

After I finished spreading strawberry on the toast. I started munching it. 

"Umm," I moan while closing my eyes taking another bit. 

"Sis, can you pass me the butter?" Hardin asked. 

"Sure," I replied while passing him the butter. 

Dad asked, "Where is Christian?" 

"Christian went to a breakfast meeting," Hardin replied. 

"Oh," Dad replied back.

"Okay," I replied and started walking towards the main door. 

I bought my car outside the garage and parked in front of the front door. 

After a few minutes, Hardin stepped outside and closed the door behind him, and walked in my direction. 

He hopped in the passenger seat and put on a seatbelt. 

I reversed back and move forward and drove off.

I opened my office cabin door and stepped inside and kept my things on the desk and sat on my chair. 

Suddenly, someone knocked on my office door, I said, "come in." 

The doorknob of my office door opened and stepped in my P.A. 

"Ma'am here is your white mocha and files." My P.A. Olivia replied while placing it on my desk.

"What is my schedule for today?" I asked her. 

"There is nothing for today, ma'am."

I took my laptop out and started working on the editing part of the novel by my client who has sent me a copy through email. 

By the time I completed the draft it is around the afternoon at 2 pm. I lost my appetite while working on the draft. 

So, I thought to relax for a few hours and later I can go home and get ready for shopping and have some ice-cream with my best friend Lisa. 

I leaned against my chair and slowly drifted into a deep slumber. 

"Siena... come here," Czar said while chasing me. 

"No, I will not come," I replied while running. 

"Babe, you will get hurt and it is not good for you or for our baby." He replied angrily. 

I immediately stopped and Czar took me in his arms bridal style and laid me carefully on the couch while pulling closer to him. 

"Babe here is freshly cut fruits. Eat it." He said while giving me the bowl. 

"No," I replied while shaking my head left and right. 

"Babe, please have it." He said while pleading with me. 

"No," I repeated again.

"No, I want to have chocolate cake," I said sternly while crossing my arms against my chest. 

"Baby bro, let her have what she wants." A familiar voice replied behind Czar. 

I slowly followed my eyes and saw Czar's older brother Victor walking towards us. 

He stood next to Czar and asked me, "my little sis, what you want to eat?" 

I replied without thinking, "a seven-layer chocolate cake, and strawberries with Nutella." 

"Sure, ma'am, your food will be here in front of you within a few minutes." He replied while yelling Kazimir brother's name and walked away. 

Czar turned to me and said, "babe, it's not good to eat those. You should eat healthy food." 

I frowned while pouting my lips. 

"Urgh, babe, don't show me your puppy eyes. It will not work this time for me." Czar replied while trying to feed me a piece of fruit. 

"Czar don't make my little sis-in-law sad." Another familiar voice said. 

I immediately looked up and saw Alek Czar's older brother who is sitting next to me while staring at Czar. 

"Brother, she has to eat healthy food. It will be good for my baby." He replied. 

"Czar, the little one is mine too," I replied angrily. 

Alek cut in between and replied, "here are few pregnancy and parenting books which will help you, baby brother," and walked away. 

Czar opened the first book and started reading it while I'm staring at him. 

Suddenly the phone started ringing making me wake up from my beautiful dream. 

I immediately took up and answered the call without checking the screen. 

"Hello?" 

"Hello! Am I speaking to Ms.Siena Davies?" An unfamiliar voice replied from another side. 

"Yes, Ms. Siena Davies Speaking," I replied. 

"I'm Czar's older brother Victor speaking." He said. 

"Hello, Victor! How are you doing?" I replied. 

"I'm good, sister-in-law." He said. 

"What about you?" He asked. 

"I'm good," I replied politely. 

"Well, I need a favor from you sis-in-law." He said. 

"What favor do you need brother-in-law?" I asked. 

"You know that Czar's birthday is on Friday." He replied. 

"Yes," I said. 

"I need help from you in arranging the party." 

"Of course, I will help you," I replied. 

"Okay. I will text you the address where we will meet. Is it fine for you to meet me tomorrow afternoon at 1?" He said. 

"Yes," I replied. 

"Okay, I gotta do some pending works. See you tomorrow." He said. 

"Okay, see ya," I replied and hung the call.

I wore skinny blue jeans with a white t-shirt and a denim jacket. I put on black pumps. I applied eyeliner and pink lip gloss and looked one last time in the mirror while taking my handbag, phone, car keys, and headed downstairs. 

I hopped in my Aston Martin DB11 and drove off to Versace Store. 

After 25 minutes I reached Versace Store. 

Lisa directly informed me that she will meet me at the Versace Store. 

I entered the store and saw Lisa and Jake checking out the dresses and tuxedos. 

"Hey, guys!" I said while walking towards them. 

"Hey, bestie!" They both said in unison while hugging me. 

"So, did you guys selected anything?" I asked. 

"Nope." Lisa replied emphasizing the letter 'P'. 

"Shall I do the honors?" I asked. 

"Yes, My Lady." Lisa and Jake bowed in front of me. 

I moved forward and Lisa and Jake followed behind me. 

A salesgirl came towards us and asked, "Good evening ma'am, how can I help you?" 

"Uh, we're looking for gowns or cocktail dresses." 

Lisa interrupted in between and said, "we have an award function to attend tomorrow night. So, we're looking for beautiful dresses." 

"Okay, ma'am. Please follow me." The salesgirl replied with a smile. 

We started following her but Jake interrupted us and said, "you girls look for the dresses. In the meantime, I will look for a perfect tuxedo." 

"Okay," we both said in unison. 

After three hours I and Lisa selected our respective gowns, matching clutches, and 6 inch high heels. Jake got himself a black tuxedo. 

We paid the bill and stepped out of the Versace store and headed to the parking lot. 

Jake left in his car to his office while I and Lisa left for the Ice-cream parlor. 

After a 10 minute drive, we reached our favorite childhood ice-cream parlor which is been here in London for the past 30 years. 

This is my and Lisa's favorite ice cream parlor spot destination. We started coming over here since 11. 

Sometimes Jake, Ryan, and my brothers accompany us. 

I parked the car and hopped out with Lisa and headed to the ice- cream parlor. 

When we stepped in uncle John looked up at us with a big smile on his face is the owner knows me and Lisa very well since 11 and treats us like his own daughters. 

"Hello, Siena and Lisa!" Uncle John said while walking towards us. 

"Hello, uncle John! How are you doing?" 

"I'm good." 

"How are you, girls?" 

"We're doing good," Lisa replied.

"Trying something new," I replied.

I and Lisa comfortably sat in a small booth and started talking about random stuff. 

After a while, Lisa asked, "So, bestie, How are things going on between you and Czar?" 

"Great," I replied simply looking at the menu card. 

"Darling in details, please," Lisa said. 

"Okay cool, my curious cat," I replied and started telling her what happened between me and Czar in the past few days. 

After I explained to her the details leaving the kissing and cuddling part aside. 

"Aw, I wish I also get a boyfriend like you," Lisa replied. 

"Girl, you will find him soon. If you need my help. Just give me a call. I will be in front of you." I replied. 

"Thank you, bestie." She replied while giving me a high five. 

Suddenly, uncle John stood in front of us and placed a Strawberry and Banana Ice-cream Brownie tower on the table and said, "enjoy the dessert, my sweet daughters. I will be back again in a minute." 

"Mouthwatering," Lisa replied. 

"Delicious," I said. 

I and Lisa immediately took a picture of the desert with a selfie and posted it on our respective Instagram account. 

"Those rats will be so jealous. They will immediately call us." Lisa said while laughing wholeheartedly. 

3, 2, and...

RING RING 

"He-Hello!" I said while shuttering the word. 

"We are reaching over there within 5 minutes. Till then don't eat." Hardin said and hung the call. 

"Lisa, I think we are dead," I replied while placing my phone inside my purse. 

Exactly after 5 minutes, the ice-cream parlor door ringed and entered our handsome rats with anger in their eyes walking towards us. 

"What the hell?" Hardin said. 

"Cheater," Ryan replied. 

"I hate you, Lisa," Jake replied. 

Christian said, "Siena, I didn't expect this from you." 

"Sien"- Hardin was about to say something but was cut off by uncle John. 

"Hello kids, what a pleasant surprise?" 

Hardin replied, "Uncle John we are not kids anymore. We are adults." 

"Whatever." Uncle John said while hitting Hardin's head. 

"My lovely daughters, did you like the desert? Shall I get for you one more?" 

Jake replied, "Uncle John we want to order one more." 

"Okay, coming right up." He said and walked away. 

Jake and Ryan sat next to Lisa. 

While my brothers sat next to me. 

They are still upset with me and Lisa. 

I and Lisa both looked at each other and then faced them and apologized to them while pulling our ears with our fingers. 

They immediately calmed themselves and accepted our apology while hugging us both. 

We each took our respective spoon and started eating the tasty dessert. 

After a few minutes, a waiter got one more of them and placed it on the table in front of us. 

"Enjoy the desert." He said and walked away. 

We all started eating the second one.

Giving birth
Laura said "the day is here, I'm ready for anything to happen."
Jakes said "what should happen is you giving birth to our health kids and you being here to raise them."
Laura said "I am trying to not think about what the doctor said, I'm thinking about what God said I will have two girls."
Jakes said "I won't lie I'm scared, I don't want to lose you and what will I do without you?" 
Laura said "you are a great father to Elijah and I know you will be awesome father to our children. "
Jakes said "don't talk like you will die there, you will come back to me and you did it before with that car accident you were involved into. So I'm not going to say I love you I can't lose you   because you will wake up and I will tell you all these things."
Laura said" I know and I love you so much."
At hospital 
The babies were born, strong and healthy. Laura was not responding, she was 40 years old her when her miracle came true, God's timing when she wanted kids she was 26 years old.
Laura was still in the hospital for days not waking up.
Jakes said "My Angel, you did it two girl's you already know that, I need you to fight come back to me to our kids, you will be an amazing mother and you already are. Jakes crying thanking the lord as Laura opened her eyes.  Jakes called the nurse. 
Before this happened, the doctor told jakes to prepare himself that his wife might not wake up. The doctor was shocked " this is unbelievable, I need a strong drink, in my years of practice have never seen or witness such, it's a miracle not a word I use in my life or work"
Jakes said "here are your beautiful kids, healthy and strong just like their mother."
Laura said" oh my babies, they are both perfect, they have their dad's eyes Thank you lord and I'm bless to have man like you who has crazy faith in God."
Jakes said "life without you, I don't want to think how it could be, I need you here be an incredible mother to our kids."
Laura said "I'm here, I know it was scary and just thankful I'm alive. I have man who prays and it's your prayers darling." 
They prayed and thank the lord and people got saved at the hospital. They couldn't wait to go home excited to raise their children.
Not just baby blues
Jakes said "I'm worried about my wife she cries a lot and exhausted all the time."
Emily said "might be baby blues, I was like that when after I gave birth. The baby keeps crying, you only sleep when the baby sleeps."
Jakes said "we have the nurse helping us, still she hasn't bonded with the babies and I read on postnatal depression."
Emily said "you think she has it?"
Jakes said "I think so, I know the dangers of using Google and coming to your own conclusion, a doctor agreed to come to check on her later today. She refuses to see the doctor. "
Emily said "parenting is hard, people telling you what to do or not to do, she probably feels helpless and you need to be there for her."
Jakes said "I promised her I will always be there for her and will figure this out."
Emily said "seems like you know what to do, go to your wife and tell her all will be fine."


Jakes got home, found his wife crying in the bathroom, sitting in the bath while the water was running down.
"I'm here love, it is okay I got you. I should have realise how serious this is, the doctor will be here" jakes said.  Laura feeling hopeless, helpless, exhausted and she was thinking of harming herself.  
 The doctor told them that Laura has postnatal depression and referred her to the right care she needs , medical professional. 
Laura thinking about her friends or her church members would say "you are depressed you prayed for these babies, you got your miracle now you are going to tell us you are struggling" some churches don't want to talk about such issues, mental health issues.  Yes, we believe in miracles and also believe in getting help. Pray, Speak out and get help. No one has it all together, we are all struggling and need each other.  Don't be like" you are Christian and you're depressed" while I'm not trying to act like I have it all figured out. Lesson here was to be able to speak out and get help. Most of the time postnatal depression is confuse with baby blues. With baby blues, they don't last that long they pass within weeks of giving birth does not require medical intervention whereas postnatal depression does. She got help and she was bonding with her children. 

Splice was a home with Bommy who was putting on a Orange Wig that was curly with pink highlights at the bottom.
Splice asks Bommy "What was your kid years like?"
Bommy has a flashback to when she was on a plane with her father at 5-years-old, she was crying because he was yelling at her "You messed up everything, my job, my services!"
A woman named "XR Ma" took a book To Robert with parenting lessons so he can give it to parents with crying brats saying:  "You, good MA'AM, have serious parental issues!"
Robert looks at Bommy and yells "See that? You make me look bad! The one screw up had to be in public, why couldn't you look like the perfect child everyone wants and be a real child with flaws, like you are, at home?!"
A woman named "La Original" said "I hate kids."
A girl named "J N" told La Original "Can you make an exception for 11 and older? We are much more mature."
Alicia  packed a special bag with quiet toys (crayons, notebook, Barbie) Bommy was only allowed to have them when they went out to restaurants, church, and other public places.
A woman named Donna Baardsen spoke out to a flight attendant "They should be removed from the flight. It's always the parent's fault. Kids don't raise themselves. My mom would NEVER tolerate that for a second. Nor did I when raising mine."
Alicia felt ashamed because she really did try to raise her daughter well, she disciplined her, taught her right from wrong, just tried her best.
Bommy tried her best, too. But with Robert being mean to her, she had some issues and wouldn't hold them in for anybody because she's been through a lot.
Alicia wouldn't say anything to Bommy because she was right there, she wasn't just the passenger that didn't know the full story and made assumptions based on emotions, she knew what was goin' on.
Alicia just held Bommy and tried to comfort her. Robert got frustrated, Robert knew the others wouldn't mind if he "Put Bommy in her place," so, he punched her in the mouth yelling "STOP WHINING~!"
Nobody laughed but they did hear him and see him, Bommy stopped crying slowly, it took 5 seconds for her to fully stop. There were 21 other passengers on the plane, 3 of them were angry and the others were laughing because it was what they wanted to do but wouldn't.
11 of them had stressful plane flights, 1 of them had bad service, 2 of them had jetlag, and the rest were just annoyed by the loud noises of the plane and others talking.
Robert told Bommy "BEHAVE." Then Bommy said "Okay..." In  a quiet whisper. The other plane passengers who were not angry were joking about Robert punching her in the mouth and the three that were wanted to punch him for punching her.
Bommy wouldn't choose to single out his behavior as bad because so many people were annoyed by her and so many agreed with him. It was so awkward to feel BAD that he punched her because she thought that she deserved it and so many people agreed with him, punching her in the mouth, having any negative feelings about the punch made her feel uncomfortable.
Bommy felt uncomfortable goin' against certain forms of what seemed to be the status quo.
Some little babies and children in real life may be crying in response to the pressure changing and their ears are not equalizing. In real life, a person knew from personal experience that it is very painful!! That person has had those problems their entire life. If they start crying within a few minutes after takeoff, then that is probably the answer.
Alicia knew why people would be annoyed by crying children, with the headaches, jetlag, loud noises of the plane, even babies hate the noise.
This made Alicia feel awkward for thinking of how bad it was for him to punch Bommy, Bommy WAS making noise but Alicia knew that, with Bommy's childhood, hitting is not the answer.
Alicia didn't feel calm enough to do something but God told her to "Defend your child." In the most annoyed ton of voice as he was annoyed with All the passengers except for Bommy.
Alicia turned to Robert and said calmly so as not to disturb the plane goers "Leave her alone, you made her this way by insulting her on the plane flight, she was perfectly fine before you began."
God told Bommy to "Calm the hay down, it'll get better." In a piteous tone of voice.
Bommy felt bad but calmed down.
Present Day, Bommy told Splice "I learned to keep my mouth shut, dad punched my trap on a plane, I shut up."
Bommy knew it wasn't right, but honestly, she couldn't protest or she'll risk getting haggled by the other plane goers for causing a further disturbance.
Splice just asked "Your dad punched you?" Bommy was manipulated into thinking whatever he did was okay, so she said "Um, yes, but, it's not that big of a deal."
A month later, Splice is just sitting on the bus to go home from the mall with a bunch of groceries and gloves and a mask on so as not to contract germs.
She's sitting nex to a A mother named Mia doesn't like her son named Wyndal's  wife named Dia.

No mother or mother-in-law would do such a thing without a hidden agenda, being that it introduces issues, hence Milly said "When I moved down here, yo' mom introduced me to you."

Splice took it as a blatant example of how you can be the same race but be different, like, one can be whorish, the type to sleep with others' men, and the other can be good and responsible but both are black with the same skin tone.
To others, it may be MIND BOGGLING, SURPRISING, to hear you can be the same race but different in personality.
Milly laughed and joked "He wasn't dealing with her."
Splice yelled "DING, DING, DING!" In hilarious, hysterical laughter.
Milly laughs, HARD, because of Splice.
Milly pats Splice's back.
Splice looks at the angry Mia who pulls her son off of the bus once the bus reaches it's stop, Milly gets off as well.
Splice gets off and goes home.
Splice looks at the people on the street walking past, a bunch of Mexican, Other Hispanics, and Black people are passing the streets.
Splice laughed because she remembered she mistook a Hispanic man named Pedro for a Mexican and Pedro told her "Don't call me that, Mexicans are low-lives!" So, Splice rolled her eyes Then told Pedro "Your races look alike, so, I mean... Also, not all Mexicans are frickin' LOW-LIVES. Also, can you not have self-hate for ten seconds? You also need to clean your armpits."
Splice is snappy.
Splice also told him "I know not all Hispanics are from Mexico, dear, I know it's annoying to be called a race you hate, even though y'all may be biologically the same race, it's just that y'all don't have the same nationality. Mexican is a Nationality. Like American. There are a lot of LEGAL, hard-working Mexicans out here. I need you to back the fluff off." Then Splice ran off.
Present day, Splice is walking home. Pedro is nearby, Splice sees Pedro and ran off very quickly, Splice thinks "Dear, gosh, not this hobo! This brotha' need a life!"
Splice ran into her home and locked the door behind her.
Splice went to the bathroom and took a bath due to fears of Corona Virus, her mom had a bad immune system and thus Splice had to do errands.
The next day, Splice went outside and saw the devil himself, Little Harbor. Little Harbor was a Black man from Detroit.

Little Harbor walks up to her and says "Did you know that Detroit's population is 79.1% BLACK in the year 2020 A.D. And all that?" And Splice replied "Yeah. It's cool. Black people probably have a lot of important jobs since there are so many of them."

Little Harbor raised up the back of her shirt to see the "ROBERTIZENS" Branding on her lower back just above her butt crack.

Splice let him see it saying "Why would you want to know?" Little Harbor complained "I knew it. Snappy, Devilish... You're one of those Freaks That mad scientist Robert made."

Splice pulled away from him and then pulled the back of her shirt down saying "What do you want?" In her French-Greek mixture of an accent.

Little Harbor told God a lie saying "This girl hit me!" He was lying, Splice never hit him. He's a pathological liar, he'll lie and then his mental disorder will cause him to believe his own lies.

Little Harbor lied to God and told God she hit him, because of this, Little Harbor began to believe his own lie.

Splice yelled "Boy, I didn't hit you!" Splice ran off, not wanting to get into any trouble. Splice is a Dark skinned Black/African-American child Born in America.

Splice went home and saw a Black woman kissing her black Husband, The black woman is 5 months pregnant with his baby boy and they are both Yellowish Brownish Pale Beige skinned with 4C type Jet Black Afro hair and Light Hazel Eyes With Big Lips and Wide Noses and High Cheek Bones. the wife has a Christian Cross necklace and the Husband has a Christian Cross pin on his suit and tie they were a family of Christians.

Splice just laughs at them and goes inside, unbothered.

Bommy said "Jesus Christ AKA God is Faithful. Hallelujah... Be still for Victory belongs to Jesus." In the Shower as Splice went up to her room.

Splice got a phone call from Martha, her busy body neighbor. Martha said to her "Stop your mom from goin' to Church, praying, your mom is an ABOMINATION and should not be in the presence of God!"

Splice is a Christian who was raised that way, to hear someone say someone cannot be in the presence of God, because she hasn't heard someone say that before, caused her to gasp then hang up because it was like she heard something bad that she shouldn't hear.

Bommy was different, Bommy felt uncomfortable going to Church because she thought that she was an abomination that shouldn't be in the presence of God, she only goes in case God would get angry if she didn't. As if God would expect her to come. She thinks she has to come because God might be angry if she didn't, not that she should. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

Inspired by The Sci-Fi Movie "Splice," it's about a girl named Splice who is cloned by her grandmother and is given to her Chimera mother as a present due to her Chimera Mother's religious Celibacy.

As Splice grows up, she notices that her family, despite the fact that they created the two, hate what they are except for the grandmother.

Splice notices that her adoptive, celibate mother named Bommy, Which Splice later learns to mean abomination, grew up with an adoptive father who hated her, Emotionally neglected Bommy and even gave Bommy her name.

Splice ends up falling in love with another possibly so-called "fully human" clone like Splice is or unlike, however, Bommy refuses to allow Splice to date another clone like her, Bommy was taught clones are abominations to nature, while she views Splice as "Different" than the others, Splice refuses to boggle her way into their ideology.

Splice definitely refuses to bother her way into an ideology created by people who created the things that the ideology speaks against.

Read as Splice grows up and navigates life in her family as she began to learn just how toxic her mother's childhood really was.
