"No!" Gabriel immediately dismissed the idea. "Cassie won't understand," he tried to reason with Balthazar, "he's too tense and the poor thing will just be confused."

"Then who?" Balthazar asked again. Gabriel stared at him. "It was your idea," the younger angel added with a shrug of his shoulders.

Gabriel frowned, looking around at all the angels that walked past the two of them in an orderly fashion. Who would want to join our band? He wondered. Who is fun enough?

He immediately dismissed Raphael. He never even liked Raphael that much in the first place.

Michael, on the other hand, sings just as well as a dying cloud on steroids and you did not want him even close to any kind of instrument either. The same counts for Ezekiel and Bartholomew.

Zachariah? No, just no.

Naomi? Gabriel suppressed a shudder of the idea alone.

"How about Lucifer?" Balthazar asked out of the blue, his eyes glued to the white ceiling above their heads.

"Lucifer?" Gabriel repeated, thinking it over. Gabriel knew that Lucifer couldn't play any instruments, but he wasn't all that bad at singing if he had to be honest. And he was popular with the other angels as well. "I guess we can ask him."

Just when Gabriel had said that, Lucifer appeared around the corner, followed by Michael. They appeared to be bickering about something. The lesser angels quickly moved out of the Archangels way.

Before Balthazar could stop him, Gabriel cupped his hand around his mouth and screamed very loudly, "LUCIFER!!!"

Balthazar rubbed his ears, a scowl on his face. "Did you need to scream that loudly?" He complained. "Especially that close to my poor ears."

Gabriel ignored Balthazar and focused his complete attention on Lucifer, who was coming their way now. Followed by Michael. The latter was probably just curious to see what was going on.

"What do you want, little brother?" Lucifer asked monotone. Michael addressed them all blankly.

"Hey Luci," Gabriel grinned, swinging his legs back and forth from the wall he and Balthazar were seated on, "wanna join my band?"

"A band?" Lucifer repeated, rustling his bright, sparkling pink wings in curiosity.

"You know," Balthazar added, "making music and all. Fun stuff."

Lucifer shot the youngest angel a glare. "I know what a band is," he snorted, "there has just never been a band before in Heaven. Like ever."

Gabriel grinned mischievously. "Time to change that. You in?"

Lucifer grinned back. "I'm in."

Balthazar wondered where he had gotten himself into and Michael walked away, shaking his head as he went, not feeling like getting involved with the trio.

"Let's practice!" Gabriel cheered, jumping down from the wall and walking away. Balthazar and Lucifer following him.

"Yes, Father," Raphael said with a slight bow of his head.

"You're dismissed," the Lord commanded the Archangel, turning the latter his back. Without looking back, he knew that the angel flew out of the room, followed by the familiar whooshing sound of angel wings.

Letting a sigh escape past his lips, God slumped his shoulders and allowed himself a moment of silence. No noisy angels this time, he told himself.

Sadly, the Lord's private-time did not last long. For the grand white-golden door to his private room slammed open and Michael strode into the room. Rather loudly, if he had to say.

"Father," the Archangel said stiffly. "I have returned from my mission."

Glancing over his shoulders, he furrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "Isn't Lucifer supposed to be with you? I recall sending you on a mission together." He questioned. "Michael, where is your brother? Did you ditch him in the ocean again?"

"Lucifer went somewhere with Gabriel and Balthazar," the Archangel replied, seeming confused about something. "Father, what is a band?"

"What?" God did not expect that kind of question. Especially from Michael.

"A band. Gabriel asked Lucifer if he wanted to join his band," Michael scrunched up his face in utter confusion. "I don't understand."

"Do you watch the humans sometimes?" Chuck asked, instead of directly answering his question.

"I was never ordered to," Michael replied stiffly.

"Then you should start doing so," the Lord said. Michael nodded like the obedient soldier he is.

"Humans have something called music, a symphony of sound," God tried to explain to the angel. But then again, how exactly did you describe music? You had to listen to it, feel it, and only then you would understand.

In God's opinion, music was one of humanities best creations. That, and nacho cheese. How he loved nacho cheese.

Michael knew what music was. He loved doing it, but everyone - especially Gabriel - told him he 'sucked big time'.

"To put it simply; a band is a group where numerous people get together to play music in tune with each other."

"Why would Gabriel, Balthazar, and Lucifer want to start a band?" Michael asked next, frowning slightly.

"Gabriel was bored," Chuck replied as if that explained everything, which it did.

"Of course he was." Michael thought about it for a while. "Is it okay to let them continue this band? They might abandon their duties. They are the troublesome trio, after all."

"Let them be," Chuck waved it off, "they will get bored again, eventually. And perhaps," he grinned, "an angel band might not be such a bad idea." If they were any good, of course.

Right when he had said that, the sky roared in a thunderstorm. God and Archangel alike looked up, seeing the sky turn black and soon illuminated by numerous lightning strikes.

"Father, did you," Michael started puzzled, "just start a thunderstorm?"

Chuck looked puzzled as well. "That wasn't my doing." In fact, he did not remember giving any of the angels permission to play with the lightning generator, either.

Then he knew what - or who - was the cause. Gabriel, Lucifer, and Balthazar. Heaven's official troublemaking trio.

He could vaguely make out the sound of drums as well. There even was a guitar and Lucifer singing. They weren't that bad and if it wasn't for the thunderstorm, God would let them be.

"Do you want me to stop them?" Michael offered.

Closing his eyes and sighing, Chuck replied, "No, I'll take care of it. Please check on the fledglings," he thought of the baby angels. The poor things must be terrified. "Take Castiel with you, if you can find him."

Michael bowed once before he disappeared in a flutter of angel wings.

Snapping his fingers once, the trio appeared before him. Balthazar and Lucifer looked around in bewilderment, Gabriel had yet to notice a thing.

The Trickster Archangel was jumping around the room, playing his electric guitar. Chuck rolled his eyes. "GABRIEL!!!"

An inhuman screech left Gabriel's mouth, and in shock, the guitar flew out of his hands, right into God's surprised face where it shattered into a thousand pieces.

They all looked at each other wide eyes before Lucifer started laughing. Gabriel looked sadly at the guitar's remains. "Your face destroyed my guitar..." he grumbled.

Balthazar's eyes had widened to the size of soup bowls and he stared at the father he saw for the first time in his life.

"Stop making so much noise," God told his three troublemaking sons.

"No," Lucifer replied. "It's too much fun."

Chuck looked at Gabriel for help, who just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Fuck off, dad. We do whatever we want. And your face destroyed my guitar!" A flutter of angel wings was heard and the three of them had left.

The thunderstorm and music picked up once more. Gabriel had probably created a new guitar.

God could sense Castiel close to the angel band, holding a triangle of his own. Castiel had asked them if he could join them and the trio agreed.

"You can handle the rest, right?" Haru asked them. 

The 11 manuscripts that he had taken out were a manga with a hundred millions of sales, and the IP (Intellectual Property) of those mangas would create a lot of money for his company since it could be used to create an anime, game, music, merchandise, etc. 

"YES!!!!" 

They answered without hesitation. They knew that the script was prepared by their boss, and they only needed to hire an illustrator to draw them. They knew that the profit from those mangas would be very awesome. 

Then they continued to talk about the weekly magazine and would target a young teen male as their market. 

Haru also told them to make a weekly magazine for older people, but he told them to search the manga themselves. He was too lazy to write those manuscripts again and it was better to enjoy life.

As a member of a band he became more popular; he could not ask for more. The saying: the grain coquet the roaster had become truer in his situation. He did not have to use words to lure girls to him, they came in droves. It came to his mother's knowledge, so some admonishments  were in order. Marlon had to checked himself  too before he fell to fleeting relations that only involved flesh.
Lucky for him, he came to know Reina, a relative of the drummer of his band and a singer in an orchestra. She was was fours years his senior and looked sophisticated and fully matured in many ways. They began dating and soon she became his second girl. Reina was like a therapy to all that ailed Marlon. He liked what she liked and loved what she loved.  He even proudly introduced her to his parents that surprised them immensely. It was the first time Marlon brought home a woman to see his old folks.  His parents had now realized their son had gone full circle when it concerned his heart and were grateful for Reina.
But it was not for keeps. Reina seized the chance of advancement when the orchestra got a contract to perform in Japan for six months. It had been her dream to perform in a foreign land and when an opportunity was dangled to her she grabbed it without reservation.
Peter dissuaded her. She could work here and be with her family and with him without going to foreign places. Work was not hard to get with her talent, he said trying to convince her.
"Why do you have to do this?" Marlon said, "You said, money is not everything, but now you're chasing it." He was holding Reina's hand and feeling it.
"I'm doing this not for myself 'Lon, I'm doing this for my family. If you were in my place you'll do it too."
There was some truth to what Reina said, for the good and sake of his family he would do anything for them.
"But not this way." Marlon said with a sigh. "How about me? I'm doubting if you've ever truly loved me."
"That's unfair Marlon." Cynthia said,  reverting to saying his full name, and pulling his hands away from his hold a sign she resented what he had just said. "You're reversing it.
"It was you who never cared. You want me to say it now, then I'll say it. You never offered me what I've been waiting from you."
Marlon knew what it was, "Then come with me. Let's go find a priest or whoever. Let's get married now."
"Too late Marlon," Reina said, and began to get up from the sofa. Marlon held her hand again but she pulled it away from his grip. "I'm tired Marlon I need to rest."
It was a sign she didn't want to hear anymore from her. He stayed on his seat after Reina went to her room. After a while Marlon left after saying goodbye to Reina's mother who was preparing something in the kitchen.
They communicated with each other for sometime during  Reina's first two months in Japan. On the third month she seldom called him, so Marlon tried to reach out and attempted to call her everyday, but Reina could not be reached or her phone was turned off. He tried to be patient and maintained his routine of calling her everyday until Reina's mother texted him and begged him not to bother her daughter anymore because she was getting married to her Japanese boyfriend. Marlon didn't want to believe the mother and suspected that she was trying to hide Reina from him. The last step of persuasion was forwarded to Marlon's FB by Reina's cousin; it was a photo of the marriage.
Marlon was hurt but not as painful as the breakup of his first relationship. He had already accepted that he and Reina were not meant for each other, but never felt any regrets. It was another blow to his already much scarred heart, and questioned himself  if he could ever have  a relationship that would last a lifetime. A relationship that was as normal as anybody else's like the normal rising of the sun in every dawn of a day. A normal relationship that would have him raised a family, play with his kids, earn a living to support them, care for their future, and after a productive life grow old and rest in tranquility. The generosity of fate had been selfish to him, but still losing hope had not crept inside his will to move forward and face all the challenges life was throwing on his path.
He never told his parents about Reina's marriage, nor he ever mentioned her name again in their presence. Whatever hunch or suspicion they had had on the situation of his relationship with Reina they kept it to themselves. Likewise, Marlon never offered anything to satisfy what was in their minds.
Marlon kept up with his usual routine. The band had only tow days of performance in a week so he had all the time to do productive things on those weekdays he was free. He might as well used his spare time to earn to augment the income from his band work. He asked his father's former boss, the owner of a for-hire passenger, if he could hire him to drive one of his jeeps his father used to do. The owner readily agreed and so in between his night work for the band he work as a driver for two days. The remaining days of the week were spent on their band practice and playing basketball.
With a bruised heart, he felt that renewing any enthusiasm to make another try for a relationship would be an instant failure. Marlon had no appetite to be at the receiving end again of another failed relationship. The imagined failure hardened his resolve not to be again the victim of fate's caprices. 

A young man coping with the problems of a modern  youth and the interweaving conflicts he had to grapple in questions like: is it a love? or just a want for flesh. That was only a part of his journey, a journey embellished with the good and bad side of life. A journey that with the help of luck and providence had catapulted him to the adoring embrace of millions.

Chapter 234. The band known as Starlights
The Starlights was a band which consisted of five members, all of them were graduates from Beijing conservatory of music.
In her third year of university, Lily has started this band and Professor Che Shu has helped her a lot, especially in recommending members for the band. 
Just like a girl group, a band consisted of different types of people and it was hard to maintain a good atmosphere among them.
There were many examples of bands splitting after a month or two, but Lily and the other members of the band found a strange synergy between them. 
They were quick to get along with each other and although, there were some differences between them, it was quick to resolve.
'It's a strange group but that's what makes them unique.'
Ren thought in his head as he looked around the faces of the members of Starlights.
First was the guitarist, Zhen Shi, the guitarist was a special position in the band and normally, a guitarist would be the most skilled member of the band.
It was because it was not easy to play the guitar compared to other instruments. 
Many people can play the guitar but to play it at a professional level wasn't easy. It took years of experience and talent.
One may think of a handsome, young guy when one may imagine a guitarist but Zhen Shi wasn't like that at all. 
Ren could see some traces of handsomeness from his face but it was hidden because of his long blonde hair and smoky makeup.
He even has piercings and tattoos on his body. He seemed like a delinquent rather than a guitarist in a band. 
The second member of the band was the keyboardist, Ma Li. 
Ma Li was not an exceptional beauty like Lily but she has her own charm. She looked like the kind of girl who would work in a place like a cafe. 
That was the sort of atmosphere one would get seeing her. It was hard to guess that she was a keyboardist in a band. 
It was because the keyboardist had a flexible role in a band. 
The primary role of a keyboardist in a band is to provide harmonic accompaniment to the melodic components of the song.
To do this, the keyboardist must have an in-depth understanding of the music genre, the appropriate chord qualities to play, the right voicing or inversion, and the harmonic implication of the melody of the song.
Moreover, keyboardists are known to switch between other instruments if the needs arrive. That's why it was known as a flexible role in the band. 
The next member of the band was Fu Tai, the drummer. He can be said to be the most normal looking person in the band. 
With black hair and casual clothes, he gave the feeling of an ordinary person. At first glance, he looked like a university student. 
In a band, the drummer mostly handles the rhythmic area.
The drummer lays the foundations, provides the pulse and brings the groove for the track, letting the rest of the band express themselves creatively.
The beat of the track ties everyone together and the drummer proving themselves as a reliable timekeeper breeds trust amongst other players, ultimately leading to better music.
That was the job of the drummer. It may look easy but it was more than anything because a drummer has to think about the other members more than himself when playing. 
The next was the bassist of the band whose name was Ye Fen. His look was of a nerd with black glasses and well combed hair.
He should not have any connection to a rhythmic instrument like bass but he was the bassist of the band.
The role of the bassist in a band is the sonic link between the rhythmical and melodic elements of any band.
With drums, it provides the backbone. In addition, the traditional function of the bass guitar is to flesh out any bands' sound.
By being played in such a way that the percussive elements of the instrument reinforce and supply power and groove. This can apply to a busy rock or funk drum beat for example. 
The instrument especially brings the thunder to any live performance.
This is specifically highlighted at live music concerts. When amplified and run through a decent sound rig, the very ground can be felt to resonate.
With the lower frequencies sounding upon the lightest touch of any of the four strings of this fascinating instrument.
The next and final member of the band was of course Lily, the main vocals and the songwriter.
The vocals of a band are the face of the band as people will think of her first when they will think about the band. She was also the spokesperson of the band. 
Ren can see that Lily was the centre of the band and she was also the piece that completed the puzzle known as the Starlights. 
'It's like a gathering of different persons who are ordinary alone but they become unique just by coming together.'
That was the conclusion Ren has on the band and he was right too. 
"I still feel surreal sitting in front of Xin Ren. It's like a dream, one that I never saw before!"
Ren came back to reality when he heard that. He looked at the keyboardist, Ma Li who has said that. 
"It's not a dream."
"Yes, you are acting like he's a ghost or something."
Lily said as he stared at her band members and Fu Tai replied to her. 
"But he's a celebrity and a famous one. He was in the number one spot in the real-time search rankings just a few days ago."
Ren suddenly remembered his unintentional fight with heavenly king, Xiao Yunhai. 
He didn't want to think about it much. He was glad that the issue had died down because both Ren and Xiao Yunhai had ignored the matter. 
As there was no way to intensify it, the fight created by the media can only die.
"We will be celebrities too after our next song will release."
"Next song? You completed the song you were writing?"
"Yes, I completed it two days ago and it came out better than expected."
Lily said while swinging around her legs. She was enjoying the accomplishment after writing the song.
"Actually, Lily called me today about how she wanted to play the song in front of me and I agreed. Then, I got your call and thought that it would be a good thing for you to listen to it. Sorry that I didn't tell you about it."
Professor Che Shu said from the side.
"No, it's okay. Then, will you play the song?"
Ren said the last part of the sentence whole looking at Lily and she looked at her band members. 
"So, should we play it?"
The band members looked at each other when they heard that and in the end, they all nodded their heads. 
Ren had come here today to meet Professor Che Shu but being able to listen to a newly created song was like an icing on the cake for him. 


Ren, he was someone with great talent in acting and singing but due to bad luck and some wrong choices, he was only able to become a third rate actor.

After dying in an accident, he noticed that he had returned to the past.

With the help of his talents and the knowledge of future, he started his journey to become the trendiest star of the century.

<YANG YU'S P.O.V>
The next day, when everyone met at lunch break they discussed the concert again, and Yu explained how things should probably go. They would start off with "Down to Earth," then they'd play a song that the others already knew, and Yu would learn the lyrics. They'ed do two other songs that you had written called, "Heavenly Stars" and "Broken Glass." While, "Down to Earth" and Broken Glass" was pop/rock songs, "Heavenly Stares" was more of a mix of Electronic and modern Jazz.
As they Talked they decided on how things would be set-up The gym of their school had a large Stage set up on the side that was used for things like plays or concerts.
Yoku was would be at the mid-back of the stage with the drums and Yu would be at the front where he had enough room to dance. Komaki would be set up at Yu's Left and Karu would be at the right. Finally, Yu announced something that surprised everyone. "Rin and Raya's band agreed to play as the opening act at the concert to draw in more listeners." When Yu announced this, May Leaned over and Grabbed Yu by the shoulder, beaming.
"Really, they actually agreed?" She exclaimed.
Yu Nodded, "They did. But only on the condition that we have a music competition with them at some point." Everyone agreed and they continued with preparations.
Because we didn't have much time until the concert we raised Practices from Tuesdays and Fridays to Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, along with during lunch break whenever they could. On Saturdays, since they couldn't get into the club room Yu gave everyone his address and told them to come over.
after that, the weekend came. Yu concentrated on writing the sheet music for the songs. The notes played by each instrument were different so Yu had to write them individually. It took Yu jours to write the music, along with that Yu talked with Rin and Raya about what songs they would play at the concert.
They decided to play three songs and have a fourth one planned if something went wrong. Yu sent a text to May to tell her that the music was ready for everyone to start practicing. Yu slept a lot on Sunday to make up for the sleep he missed while writing. The next day Yu brought his guitar to school with him, he rushed to the club room and dropped it off before any other students noticed.
When he got there, Karu had already arrived. Yu passed the sheet o music for the bass guitar to him and went to tune his one instrument. Yu hear Karu start practicing and he smiled, he hadn't expected he'd hear his music played before he graduated high school and joined his siblings in the music industry.
Yoku and Komaki arrived together and Yu passed both of them the sheet music. May didn't come to the club room that morning because she had to help a teacher out with something. She texted you letting him know, and he told the others. Komaki suddenly announced that they should make a group chat. Everyone agreed so they made one and invited May, soon after she accepted the invite.
At lunch everyone but lots of effort onto practicing the different songs. Yu already had all of his songs memorized since he'd been the one to write it he'd had more time to practice. He just ran over the songs a few times then sat down and started listening to the others play with May. Sometimes he'd stop one of them to change a note or two.
After two weeks of solo practicing. May and Yu both agreed to start practicing altogether. It took a while for Yu to sink with the others, but after a while he got it. Komaki and Yoku were able to sink together a lot faster than the rest of them. Yu wondered if it was because they spent so much time together.
After two more weeks of practicing together, everyone was doing quite well. They had almost three weeks before the concert so they started selling tickets. At first, it was slow then the second and third years started noticing that Musical Sky was having a concert and remembered the year before. They started buying tickets and they the first year did so two, whether it was because RIn and Raya's band was playing or because the older kids we buying tickets Yu wasn't really sure.
Yu didn't participate in selling tickets to the other students and their parents, but he did sell some tickets to some members of "Linx." soon all two hundred tickets were sold out and more people kept coming to buy tickets so Musical Sky had to get more. Since it was the first concert this year the tickets weren't very expensive. Everyone decided on twenty bucks a ticket. There were about four hundred students attending school here and almost all of them bought tickets. About two hundred other people such as parents and friends and just general people who heard of the concert bought tickets too.
Because he was talkative and easy to get along with, Komaki worked kind of like Musical Sky's Mascot. In total They raised about 1200 dollars. The money from the tickets was split between Musical Sky, the school and Rin and Maya's band. 10 dollars per ticket went to Musical sky while Five per ticket went to the school and five per ticket went to Rin and Maya's band. Musical Sky ended up with around six hundred dollars, while the school and rin and Raya's band both ended up with three hundred dollars.
Yu and the others were quite happy with how it turned out. After ticket selling was finished they had five days till the concert. They all started to work on setting up the stage and the others met the members of Rin and Raya's band.

Yang Yu loves singing and dancing, he does it whenever he's alone. What he doesn't expect is when Ran May,  the manager of the popular high school boy band Musical Sky overhears him singing she drags him to the band's club room and he becomes they're lead singer. In the band, he meets Chang Yoku a strong and silent drummer, Sao Komaki a very talkative and funny Rhythm guitarist and Tai Karu the lead guitarist. Yu feels like Karu is different from others to him. He soon realizes his true feeling for Karu. But what will he do about it?
