So this is my first book of Historical Fiction and I hope you'll enjoy reading and have a great time reading this book. This is my first serious Historical Fiction book so please be kind.

Time flowed by, and two days have already gone since Shad's coming of age ceremony.

Early in the morning,  Shad Walked out with the sunlight showering down at him, as the warm rays of light shone on his face, he continued walking towards the eastern part of the imperial palace. Along the way, he continuously met servants and imperial knights who bowed to him, but he went on without giving them any notice, as he was lost in thoughts.


Nobody knew, that at this moment, the thoughts that were echoing within the heart of Shad or what he was thinking about. However one thing was certain, they have never seen the 4th prince in that state.

Currently, Shad's mind was in a state of chaos and it all had to do with the Henry's Diary.  After the night of his coming of age ceremony, Shad had realized that his old man did not spy on him anymore.  However, he still did not dare to read the book but waited until last night to finally uncovered what was so important that Henry had to write it in a language that no one would able to understand unless they've come from Earth, which was almost impossible.

However, the content of that diary was enough to shake him to the core and kept him awake a whole night, lost on his own thought.

In a quick summary, according to the book, the Earth that Shad had known and was born in his previous life had completely gone two hundred years ago, and everything had started three days after Shad's death.

On July 12, 2015, three days after Shad's death.  A well-known sea explorer had discovered a huge airship sunk deep within the ocean. This kinda airship was something that they've never seen before, whether it was its humongous size or its design.

After a year, they have pulled out the huge airship out of the ocean.  It did not take long for them to realize that the airship, as well as the things inside, did not belong to the current earth.

Inside the airship,  they have found the record of technologies and medicines that was at least five hundred years more advanced than that of the current earth.

After studying only a quarter of the information and the thing recorded within the airship, human technologies had reached incredible heights in just thirty years.

During that time, they have managed to greatly reduce the pollution of the world. They have come up with ways to purify the air, water, light, industrial waste and general waste in the whole world. 

Nonetheless, it did not stop there.  Forty years later, the whole world had dramatically changed.  Humans have found ways to modify their genes and even enhanced them. 

In less than a hundred years after the discovering of the extraterrestrial airship,  Earth was not only on the era of advanced technology but also the era of enhanced humans.

With their heaven-defying strength, Earthlings were able to bend steel with their bare hands as though they were made of rubber. They had a long lifespan. Some of them practiced ancient martial arts and became enhanced warrior while others used their strength to do heavy labors and so on.  Not only that, they have even invented some sort of small device that could examine people's own state or growth such as strength, life expectancy and so on after taking the enhanced genetic potions.  The devices usually come in many ways such as rings, wristband, and contact lenses.

The human race was thriving as a whole despite most of the advanced technologies and advanced enhance gene potions were grasped and used by the minority.

Fifty years later,  the human technology was so advanced that they were trying to manipulate space and time and Henry was the lead scientist of that project.

On the Year 2126,  the scientists put their effort into a test but failed, but the aftermath was something that humanity could never have predicted. their experiments created a huge black hole on the sky which sucked everything in. Not only that, it also caused spatial folds effect including spatial cracks.

The Earth descended into chaos due devasting destructions and deaths caused by the huge black hole and the spatial cracks.  Everything was being sucked by that huge black hole. To make matter worst, the matter was being turned into elementary particles as well at some point. 

All sort of weird phenomenon was happening at once and the scientist or people had no way to explain any of them. 

After reading that volume of the diary Shad had many unanswered questions but there was no more information in the book anymore. He could only wait until he acquires the other volumes. 

First of all, he still did not know how Henry got there, was he alone? or what did he bring with him?  Was there anyone on that airship when it was first discovered within the ocean? what world did the airship come from? all sort of questions were echoing in his mind at the moment.

Not only that, If Shad counted the day he died and the time mentioned about the development of Earth technology, Shad had died two hundred years ago, so how come he was reborn only fifteen years ago. Was the time flow In the Eidrin world different from the one on Earth? If not, where was his soul during all this time.

 After the day he had died, Shad had no recollection of anything.  He was not even aware of when he was in his mother's womb. He only regained consciousness when he was born and realized that he was reborn into this completely different world.

Currently, Shad's mind was in complete chaos, whether it was about the events that happened on Earth or the mystery of his rebirth.

This is a story about Shad, a young orphan who was struck by lightning. Instead of dying, he was reborn into another world known as Eidrin. The ambient mana on Eidrin is extremely dense and abundant, allowing mages to reign supreme over the rest of the populace. Follow Shad as he develops the strength to survive in this new world and reaches heights thought to be unattainable for mortals, all in a quest to learn the truth behind his reincarnation and the purple lightning that resides in his soul.

"In-jik! What are you going here? Isn't today a holiday? I'm just here for the study group."
It was Kang Kyoung-ho, the friend who initiated the blind date last time.

"Kyoung-ho? I'm on way out of the library; there was a book I needed."

"Wow, look how mature you got, In-jik! You really came to school during a holiday for a book. By the way, that blind date was awesome. My partner, Seo Eun-hye, is awesome too. Jae-yun's partner was really pretty too. Hahaha, you missed out, man!"

Everytime Kang Kyoung-ho would sees In-jik, he would brag about the blind date, taking revenge on In-jik for missing the opportunity. While Kang Kyoung-ho bragged as usual, he noticed Kim In-jik's face.

"Look at you! Why are you slowly turning into a zombie? Did something happen to you?"

"No."

"Just tell me! I will take care of it, brother. You're regretting missing out on that blind date, right?"

"Nope, I don't care about it, but let's drink if you're free today."

Kim In-jik wanted to brag about him hacking into the security system to his friend Kang Kyoung-ho so badly. But he couldn't tell him that he hacked all the way into Area 51, no matter how close they may be as friends.

"I heard that even US citizens are killed without warning if they try to enter without permission, and taking data from them is the most serious offense…" he thought. "If something bad happened to him just because I told him about it… I can't let that happen."

Kim In-jik asked Kang Kyoung-ho to drink together to get rid of this suffocating feeling.

"Drinks tonight? Sounds good! Lets go to the pub 'Tipplers.' There's a lot of cute workers there, yeah?"

"Alright, let's go there!"

"Drink, drink! I don't know what happened, but let's drink until we die."

Kang Kyoung-ho, who was very drunk from drinking five pints of beer, yelled at Kim In-jik to drink more as he handed another glass of beer to him. However, Kim In-jik could not get his eyes off of TV, as the 19th president was just elected.

"It's been confirmed just now, that out of the 90 percent of the votes counted so far, 45 percent voted for Seo Hyun-woo from the One Revolution party, and he has been elected to be the 19th president of Korea. Oh Dong-gil from the Alliance party, who had been in first place in the beginning, moved down to second at 34 percent voting rate, and Yeon Gil-soo from the current ruling Korean Welfare party was defeated at 10 percent. Despite that the voting count isn't done yet, it seems certain to say that Candidate Seo Hyun-woo is elected, and at the same time, it is surprising to see that the result came out so differently than the poll. Now, we will talk to reporter Lee Na-kyoung, who is at the office of the elected candidate Seo Hyun-woo. Reporter Lee Na-kyoung, how is the atmosphere over there?"

"Hi, I am currently at the office of the elected candidate, Seo Hyun-woo. Currently here, even from the outside of the building to the inside of the office, you can hear thousands of people that are screaming for joy, calling the name of the candidate Seo Hyun-woo. Elected Candidate Seo Hyun-woo stood on the platform, receiving cheers from his supporters.

"Hello, citizens of Korea, and thank you. Your warm attention and support has brought me to this place. Currently, our country is going through a hard time economically, politically, and is in danger of another Korean war. However, I believe we can take this crisis as an opportunity for us to step into a better world for us, together. Didn't we fight through it in 1998 during the IMF crisis? Didn't we make world history fighting through IMF in the shortest time, with every one of us together? I dare to say. Because I have you, the people, I will run as the president confidently…"

"Yo, since when did you get into politics?" Kang Kyoung-ho asked. "You're so focused on that TV! Did you even vote?" He waved his hands in front of Kim In-jik's face, annoyed by how In-jik was just staring at the television while they were in the middle of drinking.

"You think I didn't? It feels nice that someone I supported got elected. I feel good today, so the drinks are on you, right? Cheers!" Kim In-jik turned around from the television and looked at Kang Kyoung-ho, trying to toast with his beer glass.

"What the - so I'm buying the drinks because you're having a good day today? Well alright, cheers!"

After a toast that could almost break a glass, they had a good gulp of beer. In-jik did not know if it was because of the good election result or the beer, but his anxiety seemed to diminish as he spent the whole night drinking with Kang Kyoung-ho.

November 1st, 2015, 10:00 - The Oval Office in the Blue House, Seoul, Jongro-gu

After President Seo Hyun-woo's voting rate was finalized at 51.3 percent, he started to serve as president right when he was elected. Despite that President Seo Hyun-woo's inauguration day was supposed to be 70 days from the day of the election, the absence of a president in the country caused his official inauguration along with the start of his term to be confirmed for October 31st. The new president specifically requested the transition team to prepare the inauguration celebration on a small scale.

President Seo Hyun-woo had his first official task of his five-year term: receiving the report about the August 15th Pyeongyang bombing attack from the investigation team on the day after his inauguration day.

"Chairman Yoon Eun-gook, what have you confirmed about the August 15th Pyeongyang bombing attack on our side?"

Chairman Yoon Eun-gook was from the investigation team for the Pyeongyang bombing attack. The team was formed while the Prime Minister was in office, serving as the interim for the president who died during the August 15th Pyeongyang bombing attack. He answered the new president's questions as he looked at the report.

"Yes, Mr. President. I will report to you about what has been investigated so far. Due to North Korea's refusal on visitation and unreliable attitude, we have been working with terrorist experts from in and out of the country and with the National Intelligence Service Team. The first thing we found is that there are strong suspicions concerning Vice Chairman Jang Sung-tak, who is Chairman Kim Jong-un's uncle. The ambassadors of Switzerland and Russia serving in North Korea went missing when Vice Chairman Jang Sung-tak and 16 other people were shot and killed; they were taking care of more money from North Korea and international finance than anyone else. At the time of their disappearance, these finances disappeared at the same time, and by bringing in a command officer from the integrity headquarter with the money, they seem to be able to succeed in the bombing attack."

"Hm, seems to be similar to what North Korea has announced, correct?"

"Yes! That is correct. As of right now, this seems to be the most trustworthy information."

As Chairman Yoon Eun-gook replied, the Head of Security Department, Oh Jang-soo probed the sensitive topic by asking, "Is it possible to have some foreign countries' participation in this? In my opinion, it does not make sense that they were planning on doing such things, risking their lives, just because they were part of Vice Chairman Jang Sung-tak's scheme."

"As officer Oh Jang-soo says, there are definitely some possibilities that some other countries around Korea were part of this attack. First, we suspect Japan's Prime minister. Abe's supporters think that Japan could benefit more from a divided Korea rather than Korea being united; however, there has not been enough evidence from them to validate that. Second, there's China. As a peaceful relationship continues to grow between South and North Korea, it is hard for China to have as much of influence on North Korea as before. If the relationship between South and North Korea gets better, China would definitely take a hit economically, politically, and their military would be affected. This is something the Chinese government would not be happy about. However, again, there are lots of doubts and other suspects like Japan, so there is not enough evidence to confirm this."

Then the President spoke. "I see, Chairman Yoon Eun-gook. I want you to keep investigating deeper into possible relations between this incident and countries like Russia in the western side, other than China and Japan. We need something to protect Korea and something to stop the possible dangerous actions from foreign countries in order to benefit from our situation right now. Our government promises active support for this, so please contact our Head of the Security Department Oh Jang-soo to let us know anything you need."

"Thank you, Mr. President. We will focus on getting more evidence through marginal countries and western countries."

The conference for the August 15th Pyeongyang bombing attack ended, marking the two-hour period. In the office, there was the President, Head of the Security Department Oh Jang-soo, Chief Secretary Na Sung-tae, and four more people - including Chairman of the Transition Team, Jung Won-jin - who have just arrived.

"Chairman Jung Won-jin! I appreciate all the work you've done for me," the President politely said.

The warmly smiling middle-aged gentleman replied, "Hahaha, all the hard work is worth it. The pleasure is all mine, Mr. President."

Chairman Jung Won-jin used to be a member of congress and head of the opposition party, at least he was until President Seo Hyun-woo was elected and asked him to be the Chairman of the Transition Team - an offer that he gladly took. He was also a person who warmly worked in politics for the working class.

The President asked, "How is the plan for administration going for the Transition Team?"

"We are in the last stage of initiating the administration of the different departments. We have divided health and welfare department as two different departments; segregated into the Health Department and the Citizens Welfare Department. We have included the old gender equality and family departments into the Citizens Welfare Department. And as you most importantly mentioned, we have made a new department called the National Institute of Corruption, and have been getting ready to promote a special investigation team that was made in 1948, under Prime Minister Oh Yong-guk."

"Thank you. I hope you can make it happen, as it is one of the promises I made."

"Hahaha, you don't have to worry about that!"

Thinking about the first task he wanted to make happen, President Seo Hyun-woo prioritized his job as President of the Republic of Korea by investigating and giving punishment to the pro-Japanese people from Japanese colonial era and to terminate any and all corrupted officers, organizations, or company. For the future of the Republic of Korea, the President knew it was necessary to purge the internal issues now, or else Korea would always stay the same.

If he resembled any of the prior Korean Presidents, he would not be able to even try to do what he doing. The descendants of pro-Japanese people and backlash from politics, press, and education would prevent his work. However, in this special situation that Korea is in the right and how much power the President has in all of this, he was able to initiate his political wishes.

"Click"
As soon as the phone ended the call the information that I couldn't process at all earlier rushed through my head, simultaneously giving me a headache. The statement, "My name is Samantha Smith..." rang through my head. 
And the feeling of being the butt of some joke, that was only funny to the Universe induced the complicated  mix of shame and betrayal.
"How come you're so easy to fool?"  
"Many people have online persona's."
The rational part of my brain started to defend.
 "But how many people have their persona as her name?"
"I don't know. There could be dozens, millions."
It's true, There are many people who share the same name, people aren't born with names only unique to themselves. Names were found everywhere. In books, online, or from a relative. That's normal. 
"It's completely normal..."
 My head hurt from all the rational and Irrational thoughts that swirled in it and I slouched deeper into my sofa. The little green leaves  in my lap poked my stomach as I did. Reminding me that it was still in my lap.
"Sorry, I forgot you were there."
I fiddled with it's leaves for a while, before turning off my lights and heading to bed.

I had a hard time sleeping last night. 
Trying to puzzle together what I was feeling, "work through it". Like my psychologists told me to do many times before. I worked though it. 
Why was I bothered by this?
Why did I feel betrayed?
Why does the fact that she isn't Jasmine disappoint me? I knew from the beginning. I knew, but I still held on to that tiny slimmer of a hope that "Just maybe" gave me just enough to hold on to.
Jasmines last name wasn't even Star. It was Grant. Jasmi- Samantha isn't at fault.
I am.
The realization that she wasn't who I wanted her to be shattered the new safe world I was building around myself. Bringing me back to reality. There was no Jasmine. Just Samantha. Just a person online who just so happened to be close by when not even my family wanted to be near me. Just one person, who isn't Jasmine. But somehow became important to my survival. She was just there at the right time. Completely by chance. She had become a important part of my new life, and I didn't think I could let it go.
The thought of her not being online with her odd 'What-ifs' when I couldn't sleep has become a unfathomable thought to me. 
'Write a message'
The thought appeared in my head and I sat up, grabbing my phone off the nightstand. 
It was 3:00 a.m. 
  I finally understood why she would write such random stuff to me early in the morning. I stared at the message box. The bright light shining directly into my eyes and I stared back at it.
What do I tell a her? 
The insecurity that I didn't know her as much as I thought I did surfaced.
I shook my head trying to release the thought from my head. 
"Just read the messages that she sent you and you'll know what to say." 
I did that. 
I started from the beginning, and worked my way down. With each message I started to realize that I really didn't know her as much as I thought I did. 
 I was greeted by the small signs she laced into our conversations, signs that showed that she was troubled. The ones I either didn't notice or ignored thinking it was just weird before. The way she spoke about herself. Berating in a light manner, as if she was telling a joke. Saying that nobody cared so she just ate in her room alone. She loved playing 'what-if' like she was a child, trying to find a safe world to hide in, and the fact that she had a whole breakdown over the phone about something as simple as a name. Was it just that?
We both had our secrets.
Her's was just slightly well kept then mine. 
The courage I was trying to build up crumbled. Looking at the words she typed made me feel uncomfortable. 
"What do I say to her?"
I didn't know anymore.
I turned off my phone and laid back down. Samantha Smith was completely different from the Jasmine Star I was used to.

I think of messaging her sometimes. When I'm on commute to work, or when I'm just plain bored. But I don't. 
Time makes things awkward like that. I lost my timing. That ship has sailed, though I want to deny it. I still can't bring myself to do anything.
Time will only make it worse.
The best part is that she didn't contact me either. The feeling of mutual discomfort lingers, and I try to avoid it. I distract myself with my plants. They take up a whole counter in the kitchen now. They're all green and thriving. 
I also cook now. As messed up as my cooking skills were at the beginning of the year, I find it nice to discover new recipes and try them out. Though the dishes are far from perfect. 
 I even bought a Bloomsbury Dictionary. I've read a few pages and it surprises me how someone could like something so boring. 
It's been on my nightstand since. It's a nice way to put me to sleep when I can't.
My world has become quiet. 
Something I wanted for a longtime. A simple peaceful life. But it's different now.  It's been a year and a half since Jasmine died. Though some days I feel weighed to my bed, I get up. The love of my life was taken from me before we both even made it to the hospital. Someone called an ambulance when they saw her laying motionless in a alleyway. She was stabbed five times. Her bag and phone were gone. Which made police assume it was an "armed robbery gone wrong"
I could remember asking " Then why didn't they take her rings?" Her bag was a DIY tie dye canvas bag, and her phone wasn't even worth a hundred dollars.
I could remember asking in my torn up frame of mind. "Why did they not take the rings?" She loved those things. Though they were both worth significantly less than a single engagement ring her friends had, she refused to let them go. The doctors had to pry her cold hands open to figure out what she was holding.
"Just thank God this isn't another type of case son." One of the officers told me. Seemingly  mistaking my questions meaning. His dumb remark earned a stern glare from his partner, who was more empathetic. He carefully pressed the two rings into my hand. "She must've loved them very much." I shook my head silently. I didn't even notice when her family came rushing in. Just her father coming up to me and starting to shake the seemingly lifeless me. 
"I told her to not marry trash like you! You couldn't even protect her! You killed her!" Everything became a blur. I just remember someone dragging me off that old man. He never liked me since High school. But I always tolerated him. He was holding his nose and I faintly could see blood starting to drip from it. "You'll never see my daughter's burial!" 
"Are you sure you want to be saying these things to me right now Mr.Wright? I'm your daughter's next of kin. Not you."
I watched as her parent's faces changed to a deathly white at my insinuation.
"You bas-
"Stop it Ben! Just stop... both of you."
With that Mrs. Wright collapsed into her husbands arms and desperately cried for the loss of her child. I walked into the small room where she was laying, still and lifeless.

The next few months Mrs. Wright and I made arrangements for her funeral. By June 2013 I was watching Jasmine Grant, age 23. Getting lowered into the ground. To where I could never see her again.

Life moves on. Though sometimes we wish that some things could stay the same, most times they just don't. There are just some people who enter your life and somehow changes the course of what you thought was your fate. For me I thought I was destined to meet Jasmine and I was. But I wasn't supposed to stay with her until we grew old and watch our grandchildren from the porch, as they played. She wasn't supposed to be permanent, not physically at least. And I hate that. Some people are just there long enough to teach you whatever lesson you haven't learned yet.  What lesson did I learn?
I still have no clue.
Maybe the world just likes fucking with people and there are no lessons. But I try to be positive. I just didn't figure the lesson out yet.
I filled in all the pages of my journal today. I never thought I could write that much about myself. Somehow, I feel accomplished when I look at the filled book. 'That chapter of my life has ended.' is what it feels like it's saying. 'Life does move on.'  Maybe I'll go out and watch as the mall staff start setting up the shopping district for Christmas. Fuel this new hobby and buy a new journal, Maybe I'll go to that sea-side town and take another class at that florist shop. I don't know.
Although today may not feel no different than yesterday, It is just me, comfortably but not silently alone, today is still a day to remember.

2. Highest number of 50s:

Former Indian player Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for making the highest number of half-centuries (50s) in the ICC Cricket World Cup. Tendulkar has made a total of 21 half centuries, seven of which he made in the 2003 tournament. 

3. Highest-wicket-taker:

Australian player Glenn McGrath dominates the individual bowling records, having featured for his country in four World Cups. He has one of the best strike rate and economy rate among any other bowler, having the best individual bowling figures and taken more wickets in the history of the tournament. McGrath holds a record of taking a total of 71 in the world cup tournament. In the year 2007, McGrath took 26 wickets in 11 matches. 


4. Highest number of catches:

Australian former cricketer, Ricky Ponting, who was captain of the Australia national cricket team during its 'golden era' between 2004 and 2011, is the leading fielder in terms of catches made (28), in both an individual World Cup tournament and in the competition's history.

India's Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for making highest runs (2278) in the Cricket World Cup. Tendulkar made 673 runs in 11 innings in the 2003 play-offs. 

6. Most Sixes:

South African cricketer Abraham Benjamin (AB) de Villiers, who captains the South African ODI team, has hit the most sixes during the entire tournament, making a record total of 36. In the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, Villiers smashed 20 sixes in six innings. 

7. Fastest 150:

AB de Villiers, in a match against West Indies in the World Cup 2015 game, created history by smashing the fastest 150 runs in 64 balls. 

8. Fastest century:

His guardians arrived only soon enough to see him run past them on the street back to the house. His aunt made as if to call out to him, but a hand on her shoulder kept her silent. Shinji's uncle had already learned of what happened. 

"No, let him be. He needs to be alone." he said sadly. "Shinji is just too kind, he needs to be alone to deal with knowing not everyone can be as naturally good as he expects them to be."

The Boyz broke into the scene, shouting something that sounded like 'Huuwaaaaaaaaaaaaaa- " and ground to a halt at seeing all the policemen. They sheepishly put away their useless rocks and sticks. Shinji ran until his lungs burned. He ran until his legs began to burn. He ran until the pain seemed to set his nerves aflame. And still he didn't stop.

Shinji snarled and tightened his grip. He felt so immense just then, and the figurine in his hands a little person, red-eyed and so willing to just let him crush it/him in his hands…

"What am I doing?" he breathed. "What am I doing?" He opened his palm to reveal the figurine all bent of shape, its lacquer cracked in places. It didn't seem irretrievably damaged, though. He could push things back into place and slap on a fresh coat of paint. "Why am I so angry at this thing?"

"You're just a lump of plastic!" he said, his heart lifting. He got up and placed it back on the shelf. Shinji sat on his bed and cradled his face in his hands.

"I… wanted her to hurt." he failed to hold back his tears. "I'm a horrible person."

/'No, you are not.'/ he felt another familiar voice skim through his mind. /'It was not your fault, Shinji. What did you really do, clear your mind and admit it to yourself.'/

"What I did I do? I wanted her to hurt! I didn't mean for this to happen... but I allowed it! I took her pain and loved it. Oh, gods, I loved it."

/'No, yaz didn't!'/ Shinji could feel a massive stomp echo through his consciousness. /'She was weak, and you hated anyones who abuses da weak.'/

/'You must not lie to yourself, commander. Consider exactly what your influence in this matter brought. As much as it pains me to admit it, the chaos-pawn had done you right. You SAVED a life, commander, and it was not by your hands that an evil one was destroyed. It was by your will that one was saved from that evil.'/

"But… Minase…"

/'Did you plan it? Such is the way of Chaos that it prevents any attempts to truly control it.'/ The Farseer in his mind stroked with her white-gloved hands from the cheek of her helmet, down to her neck, past her chestplate and down to her hips. /'You did nothing to her. You must understand this. You are not a God. Not everything is within your control. Her fate is hers alone.'/

"I don't want anyone to suffer…" Shinji cried. "I don't want anyone to suffer ever again."

/'If that is your desire, bright lord.'/ the Chaos Marine actually had the gall to interject. /'Then let it be written upon the flesh of destiny.'/

/'Be silent!'/ screeched the Eldar. /'You have had your say. Be silent unless your loathsome opinion is asked for.'/

/'I obey Chaos, not you, witch. But for the bright lord's sake for now I shall do as you say.'/

Shinji bent his knees up and went into a sitting fetal position. He had touched something today, something vast and powerful and simultaneously remote and always at hand. His head felt light and cool, as if he was floating again on the ocean, in a sea of shining liquid gold. 

The Ork said it was nothing more than his "Inna bad-ass". Both the Farseer and Space Marine counseled for him not to worry about it, and it would be a LONG time before he'd swallow so easily anything that Chaos would say.

He no longer felt powerless, though. He learned that day that when one's physical strength fails, let the mind triumph. When the future is closed to the mind, then it is the point of decisive action. When all is dark, is when the light of the soul shall reveal itself.

His physical form was not the all of what he was. 

Delusions. Fantasies. Insanity. 

He stared at his figurines, now silent and no more than painted plastic again. Something still resonated at the back of his skull. 

Unreal. Irrational. Powerful.

A year passed in humdrum mundanity. Junior High was a fun but excessively normal time of life. The Boyz had organized and brought their afterschool club out into the open. The year was 2015, and while their styles were clearly based on hooligan aesthetic, Shinji's friends found recognition as a sporting and mechanical hobbyist's club. 

Whole franchises were built around aesthetics and mascots and merchandising potential.  The Boyz Football and The Boyz Baseball. And specially Da Boyz Motorless Racing Team - well there's a lot of mostly unused roads around their hometown, innit? Da Boyz began spreading out into other towns, making their 'Tribez'. Towns that didn't have a unified sporting identity were ripe for recruitment, while those that did were challenged and on their defeat would either be absorbed or be made to pay a token 'tribute'.

They recruited adults to teach them survival and workshopping skills. They were like the Boy/Girl Scouts if combined with the aggressive proselytizing tendencies of Jehova's Witnesses. 

Da Boyz were organized by age. From youngest to oldest: Snots, Runts, Grots, Gretchz, Boyz, Nobz, Chiefs. Then they were organized into roles; from informers(oddboyz), agents (kommandos), crafters(mekboyz), drivers and messengers (flyboyz), sports teams (sluggaboyz), academic teams (weirdboyz), recruiters (wildboyz), attack mobs (warboyz) and sabotage (kommandos). They operated in cells so that the secrets of the Boyz could never be fully leaked. 

Da Book was accidentally a textbook case of insurgency operations. 

But then again, that was basically what the Orks were originally designed to be; growing from a few dropped spores, they would grow into a self-reinforcing, self-maintaining army out of literally nothing more than the investment of some dirt. Most orks would remain feral until the first of them unlocks the genetic information to smelt metal, and then soon enough there's guns and trucks and bombs and giant stompy mechs and a full-on Waaagh! is set to burn whole worlds.

A Boy was nothing without a Mob. The ideal of the Boyz would be for a single Boy, lost on his own, could do with little more than inspiration from the book, begin the whole cycle all over again. The Boyz' 'kultur' was based around self-sufficiency, and making everything up from scrap.

The true power of friendship was, after all, having five of your friends with you to beat up somebody you didn't like.

Shinji stood on top of the school roof. He could not exactly refuse her invitation. Minase stared out towards the city, the wind tugging at her long silken black hair. She turned towards him and smiled impishly.

"What's wrong?" she asked. "What are you so afraid of? A confession?"

Shinji winced. 

"Oh? Really? Am I really that unpleasant? Am I... unclean? Even you, are you judging me too?"

"No! Never! That's not... I mean, I can't judge you for anything. I don't think you called me here for a confession."

The girl laughed lightly. "But I do have to confess something. It's weird... did ever tell you WHY I used to love gangster movies so much? Dark smoky dens, black leather and motorcycles, the smell of smoke, intense smoldering stares...! Oh! That's a man's world, where a woman can only move through with her wits and her beauty... or else they'll chew her up and leave her with nothing.

"It's a very improper world. My father... he's just a politician. People call him powerful, but really... a lot of the powerful people I know are just boring. I really just like the style of a gangster and their sworn brotherhoods compared to the high life I'm expected to grow into. 

"All that fake make nice and all those parties where nothing's allowed to happen, and all the gossip only about who looks cute together, or the price of their dress... they call me a princess, but I don't want to be just one of those silly empty-headed girls! Something exciting... something raw and true."

Then she turned away and grabbed at the roof's security fence. "But I turned out to be just an empty-headed girl after all..."

Jishin's older brother was a true-blooded Yakuza. But even he couldn't try to take revenge against some uppity girl or a round boy. A mayor's daughter was off limits. They crossed the line, and so the organization had to sacrifice someone to bring back a peaceful balance. The tail should not wag the dog, after all. The organization should not suffer from the stupidity of one member. The Yakuza were still of Japanese sensitivity, and preferred a status quo that had them pass under legal notice or preserving a veneer of respectability.

The Boyz found the gap where they were warned to be 'hands off' and exploited it ruthlessly. In the surrounding towns, the saw-toothed Ork skull was a gang sign all their own. 

"Now imagine my surprise to learn that all this time, someone's been setting up a 'chivalrous organization' all this time under my nose without my knowing."

"Umm. I have no control over anything that happens anymore. Please, believe me. If I could stop them, I would! Someone's going to get hurt at some point if they keep pushing."

The Boyz were so suicidally brave going into forbidden areas and so unafraid to talk to all sorts of people that they were just Bavarian Fire Drill-convincing people that they probably belonged there and it was fine to let them get away with all sorts of their shenanigans.

Minase laughed and approached him, her eyes glinting with savage intensity. Shinji began to back away. Until he felt a wall behind him, and she trapped him there with her hands on either side of his head. It was the kabe-don, that flirtatious scene so often seen in girl's manga with the genders reversed.

"What happened to me... I don't know why, but it didn't make me strong. I'm afraid it could happen again, now I know men can just take me and I can't stop them. I should be ashamed to say this to you. But I don't know why... somehow, it's fine if I talk about this to you. You wouldn't want a soiled woman like me, you deserve someone faithful and good like Ayane."

"Ayane's my FRIEND. I think we can be friends too." The boy's eyes were clear and perfectly free of any moral judgement. "Deserving or not deserving, that's not even important. I don't know how you want me to treat you... but who you are right now is more important than what you were before."

Minase laughed. Wildly. Mockingly. "Why are you so puuure?" She pinched at his cheeks. "I don't know- why?! Why you?! Why do I feel so comfortable being able to say this to you?!" 

"Ouch. Ow. Please stop."

Then she licked her lips and whispered "If I eat you up... could you make me pure again?"

Minase took one of Shiji's hands and stuck the fingers in her mouth. She stroked and wet the fingers with her tongue. Inside, her tongue danced and rubbed against his flesh with a secret passion. 

Shinji blushed terribly. 

Then she bit down. Hard. Blood welled up between her lips.

/"Okay. Cannibalism was NOT how I expected this day to go!"/ Shinji bit back his scream. Minase smiled sweetly down at him.

She licked and sucked at his fingers some more, and then slid them out of her mouth with a luscious 'pop'. The indentations of her teeth left the skin white to the bone, until blood started to well up from the small wounds. Shinji winced a little bit, but otherwise seemed unaffected. Pain was familiar companion.

And she whispered cloyingly "I hate everything you represent. I love it that I have something to hate about you."

Minase would thereafter in secret show him her humiliation and it always creeped him the hell out.

The day arrived when he received the letter from Tokyo-3. 

It had one word in it: COME.

Shinji Ikari stared disbelievingly at it, all else blank paper but for the NERV letterhead and his father's signature. How hard can it be to write one other word? 

/PLEASE/ COME, maybe?

Or /COME LIVE WITH ME./

Or /YOU ARE NEEDED, COME TO TOKYO 3./

Or even maybe /I'M SORRY FOR ABANDONING YOU./

"No father would write this!" he said to himself. "One word! Like calling a pet to hell! This is something specifically designed to piss me off!" he gasped. "And it's working!"

"You don't have to go to Tokyo-3, Shinji." his aunt said softly. "You can just stay here. You can be happy here, can't you?"

"Yes, don't give the bastard the satisfaction of having the son he so ignored come running at his earliest call… what's there for you anyway?"

He could just stay. In a town which actually loved him. Where the boyz were being treated like the minor militia and hometown heroes. Where someone stood beside him, and strangely a best friend/confidante/personal secretary did vastly simplify his life; a female best friend that maybe eventually could turn into something more. Where, once, when no one was around, Minase actually knelt down and kissed his shoe as if his mere touch could purify her. Then she laughed at the sheer panic in his face. 

Still so very pretty. Still so very very creepy. One day she would totally degrade herself beyond sanity and Shinji feared that would be the day she would literally bake him into a pie.

/"Ey Boss, wots da big dakka here?"/
/"Shinji-kun, I understand that you think the 'boyz' is a gender-neutral term, but I think the girl's choir would do better."/
/"This is so tacky and disgraceful. Ohoho. I love it. I love it!"/

Life was good. With his own efforts he could believe he deserve a little bit of happiness, right? It was a nice, normal life, and yet somehow...

He could see it in their eyes. Even as his guardians asked for him to stay, they already knew that a part of him was meant for bigger things out in the world. He had lived in the backwoods of Sendai since he was three years old. Since he personally watched his mother die. Since he watched his father break down in tears at allowing this monstrosity to happen. 

His friends would not be able to follow him to his father's seat of power. They would not be safe there.

Shinji crumpled the letter, if it could even be called that, in his fist. He looked up and the weight of ages were in his eyes. "I HAVE to go to Tokyo-3. It's time my father and I talked things over."

"Give him a punch him in the face for me, would you?" his uncle said with a grin.

"Sure will!" he replied with a similarly wide-open expression. "If he deserves it, I won't hold back at all!" Shinji Ikari still had all the outward signs of a happy, emotionally healthy child.

The year was 2015. The world was grievously wounded by Second Impact, but slowly and with resentful determination, it had recovered and worked hard never to suffer through that again.

This was the year that the beings that killed half of all humanity returned to finish the job. Theirs was the Evangel of a New Genesis, a bloody-handed gospel. Where one ends, another must begin.

Fifteen years had passed. Fifteen years to prepare. To train. Construct defenses. Build weapons. Perform immoral medical experiments on children. Humanity was wounded and half-mad with pain. But like a cornered animal with nowhere left to run, it was ready to fight with all its power for the right to exist. 

Into this carefully orchestrated war, walked in an impossibly delusional young boy named Shinji Ikari.

Technology has improved dramatically making people able to create themselves in a New World.

A New World full of action and adventure that they can never do in real life.

New Life Online was released to the public and it boomed like crazy. Most of the entire population of the World started playing the game and even the government insisted on people to participate.

A peaceful normal life in the real world and an adventurer in another world, what could you ask for more, right?

After almost a year, a guy named Aries Kim who just woke up from a long-term comma decided to join this so-called perfect life. Will his life be as perfect as everybody else as well?
