Joseph Jones (Joey) was a 18 years old, black hair ,red eyes ,1.79 m height 72 kg was a high school student and an inventor but on top of that he was a weeb trying to make a machine that will transport him to another world 

During lunch break at his high school 

Zack:Hey Joey what are you doing after school?If you aren't doing anything do you want to come with me and Nick to football practice? 

Joey:Nope I can't come I need to work 

Zack:Oh cmon are you again working ? Why don't you just call in sick or whatever and for once come have fun with us ! Because when you are not working you are watching that cartoons all day long 

Joey:1.No can't do I can't leave my work 2. It's not cartoons it's anime 

Zack:You know you will be forever alone if u keep up like this 

Joey: You say that like is a bad thing 

Zack:Okay Joey see you later !

Joey:Bye !

Few hours have gone by and finally Joey got home 

Joey:I'm home 

????:Welcome home honey 

Joey:Thanks mom 

Joey's mom: How was school ?

Joey: Okay 

Joey's mom:Are you hungry?

Joey:Yeah

Joey's mom:We got some spaghetti from last night in the refrigerator

Joey takes a plate with spaghetti from the refrigerator ,after he eats he got dressed for work and leaves,he was working at a GSM store 

After he got off work he starts going home ,once he got home and walked a few minutes around an empty house decided to got to his home-made laboratory that was in his basement 

Joey:Sorry to keep you waiting 

Says Joey after he entered the basement while looking at a strange machine connected to a chair, with a helmet with wires attached to it ,and in the back of the room was a computer cluster with a few computers in it and near the chair was a desk with a computer on it 

Note:he has a computer cluster because the machine that he build was working with multiples programs and a single computer couldn't run all of them 

Joey walked to the desk and sat down,and spend like 2 to 3 hours programing 

Joey: Ah finally! After 1 year of programming and building it's ready for the first experiment!But first I will grab something to drink 

Joey walked to the refrigerator got a bottle of cola and came back down again 

Joey:Well it's time to test this beauty 

Joey being tired after programming 2-3 hours 
he tripped and spilled his cola on the server that was programmed to bring him back in an hour 

Joey: Oh god! I hope it isn't broken 

Joey rushed to the computer to make a simulation and see if everything was working fine 

Joey:Ok tomorrow is saturday and I don't have school or work  first thing in the morning I will test the machine 

The night has passed Joey rushed down stairs from where his room was to take the breakfast 

Joey's mom: Morning honey !

Joey:Good morning mom !

Joey eats the breakfast fast and started walking to the laboratory 

Joys's mom:Joey are you going to work again at that thing of yours ? 

Joey:No mom I finished 

Joey's mom: Oh good then , and what it's it ?

Joey:Sorry mom I will tell you after I confirm that it's working 

Joey's mom:Oh okay then,and good luck !

Joey:Thank mom 

And then Joey started walking to the basement again , when he arrived he started preparing the machine to work and he dressed himself in a green military outfit ,after 1 hour of preparation he finished 

Joey:Ah it's finally ready 

And then he sits down in the chair put the helmet on and started the machine,then he woke up it what it seems to be a forest 

Joey: Ah yes it's working ,it's working !!

Joey started to walking in to the forest,everything thing was fine until he meets his first animal in this world 

And then a creature that looks like a wolf was started approaching him

Just as expected, the whole country is in chaos. As soon as the news broke out about President Xi Ana of Xi Empire and CEO Lim Yi Sheng of Lim Group, everyone was shook to their very core.

Companies who have acted rashly when the scandal about Xi Ana broke out earlier this morning can't even think of anything anymore, they tried to contact all of their connections within the Top Floor but they can't get through anyone. And the thing they are most scared about at the moment came suddenly like a tornado, Xi Empire released a list of blacklisted companies and now they can't do anything but to watch their stocks hitting the bottom.

This is their incompetence showing in numbers, they knew they shouldn't have listened to those things. They could only hope that this will just be a passing storm.

As they were watching their stocks go down at an increasing pace, and is now already at the critical level, they couldn't help but sigh. To their surprise, what came next would actually make them as good as nothing.

About two hours after the release of Xi Empire's blacklist, Lim Group released a similar list, no, it is almost the same list blacklisting all of them. It's over, what have they done in their past lives to experience this now is what they thought with heavy hearts. 

Meanwhile, those who have good relationship with Xi Empire remained unfazed because they knew Xi Ana would never do something that would taint her reputation. Knowing the fact that two of the most powerful people in the industry seems to have something going on between them, it is best not to get on their bad sides.

The employees were quite satisfied with the results they've managed to achieve in just a few hours. Stocks were back to normal and the amount of demands for collaboration increases in an unimaginable speed.

While Hannah is busy finishing all the matters at hand so she could follow the president soon, her cellphone rang. Her heart almost leaped when she saw that the caller ID is the private number of the president.

"Yes, president?" she said the moment she answered the call.

"I already know what happened, you don't have to explain anything to me. Don't rush things, you can follow me tomorrow and just deal with everything there for now. I was only on a 30-minutes break so I'm gonna hang up soon. Make sure that everything is already settled before going here." she made everything on point knowing that she only has limited time to spare.

"I understand, President. I'll prepare a thorough report so you can review it once I reached there."

"Okay." and that ended the call. Hannah already know what to do and she will make sure that everything will be done efficiently.

Xi Ana received a voicemail from her husband who explained the current situation in a concise and brief manner which saved her time from reading through everything. He also stated what steps did they take to solve the issue and she's not against it, if she was there it would also be her way of dealing with that matter.

After calling her assistant, she decided to give her husband a call. She only have 15 more minutes before their meeting will resume. It didn't take three rings before the man answered the phone.

"Are you done with your meeting?" the man asked who is, by the way, in the middle of a sudden meeting which was a result from the news earlier.

"We're on a short break, what's the situation on your end? Is there any problem?" he can hear the rush from her voice, she must have limited time.

"No, you don't have to worry about anything. I'll handle everything from here, just finish what you have to do and don't forget to rest. Did you sleep on the plane?" he's worried because he knew his wife went straight to the meeting upon landing in France.

"I managed to take a nap. I have to get back soon, eat your meals and don't drive. Do you understand?" she glanced at her wrist watch.

"I understand. See you soon." his heart felt a little pain when he heard what she said. A nap is not enough, she's been working straight for how many hours but he decided to keep it to himself, it's not like he can stop her from working anyway.

"Uhm." with that short response the call ended.

It was only a normal conversation if you would think about it, there is really nothing intimate about the phone call but the executives who witnessed the entire thing with their own eyes were shocked with how soft the features of their CEO while talking to the person on the other line, which they presume to be the president of Xi Corporation, Xi Ana.

They were called here by the CEO as he would clarify the news that was recently released but before they could start they were interrupted by the call that just ended.

"Everything I was about to tell you will stay here." he set his phone on his side and started speaking with full authority.

"President Xi Ana and I were married." the crowd gasped as he dropped the bomb without warning. Feng Jinnian, who's standing on the side already knew about it but the way the CEO revealed it is really something.

On the faces of the executives formed hundreds of questions but no one dared to ask, they just waited for the next words from their CEO. 

"I would have wanted this to stay a private matter but due to what happened its gonna be hard to do so. We will clarify this through a press conference, as for the appearance of Xi Ana on the conference itself, I will still need to consult with her." Xi Ana has never been good with crowds.

The meeting didn't last for a long time as there is not much to discuss anyway. The only point that matters is that their CEO is married to Xi Ana, the queen of the corporate world.

It's been six days since the news of their relationship spread and people began to ignore it already but they sure are still waiting for the promised press conference which will be held after Xi Ana came back to the country, she already agreed to appearing which surprised most of them.

In the course of one week, the approximate time she was able to sleep were around 10 hours at best. Hannah who's been here for four days now is really worried, she'd tried to coerce her to sleep but she refuses to do so. She was also forbidden by the president to tell the CEO about her lack of sleep for the past few days.

"I'm sorry for being so impudent president but I really have to say this." no matter how good the president is, Hannah knows that a person's body has a limit and if the president continues this she might ruin herself.

"Go ahead and speak." Xi Ana said without removing her eyes from the document on her hand, the pressing matter has been dealt with but she still needs to make sure that such circumstance never happens again.

"You must rest, president." she purposely said the word 'must' indicating that it's not even a choice. She needs rest, she must rest.

"I did rest though." Xi Ana furrowed her brows upon seeing a miscalculation on the financial report she's currently reading and now she finally turned and looked at her assistant who sighed in disbelief.

So she considered the time she closed her eyes for 10 seconds as a rest, what would I do with this boss, she thought.

"Tell the finance department that if they can't do simple math, don't even think of working for me because I don't tolerate mistakes. Since this the first time and considering our current situation, I'll be lenient for now but tell them that there will be no next time."

"Understood, president." she still wanted to argue about wanting her to take a rest but seeing as how the idea was easily brushed off she already knew that she can't do anything about it.

She sat on her designated place and started working on the things she was tasked to do. As much as she wanted to inform CEO Lim, she really cannot disobey what Xi Ana said because no matter what happens, even if they are already married her loyalty will always be with her boss.

Xi Ana, on the other hand, has been working for three hours straight without being interrupted. The last interruption was when she talked to her assistant. She was planning to continue doing so when her phone suddenly rang. Hearing this, Hannah is full of hope that whoever it is, he might as well be able to make her rest even for just a couple of hours.

She frowned upon recognizing who the caller is but she still answered and immediately put her phone on speaker so that she could still work while talking to him. She knows that he will make her sleep as well.

"I've let you off the hook for a week now, Ana." his voice is mixed with worry and at the same time frustration towards his wife. He's sure that she barely slept these past days.

He had someone monitor the situation in France and with the scale of the problem it could take at least a month to fix everything but after only a week almost everything was done, it was solved in an unbelievable speed which he knows that his wife must have been doing extensive overtimes to be able to pull this off.

"Let me off the hook for three more days then." she said seriously. Well, she'll be able to finish it in three days if she's working with her current speed.

Lim Yi Sheng as well as Hannah who have heard what the woman said couldn't help but feel frustrated towards her smart mouth.

"Ana, I'm serious. You should get some rest, you made something that was normally done in a month in just a span of how many days you think I wouldn't know what you've put your body with?"

Xi Ana dropped her pen, crossed her arms, and stared at her phone. "I just need three more days." she almost rolled her eyes as if the person on the other line could actually see.

"How many hours did you sleep for this week?" he ignored her suggestion.

"10 hours." Lim Yi Sheng's face darkened. If we do the math and assumed that she at least slept for the past six nights, it will still be only around 1.6 hours.

"Sleep for the entire night, no more work for you. I bet Ms. Lee can hear me because you're probably on speaker. Ms. Lee, cut off all her work for the rest of the night, unless it's an emergency don't let her near any documents nor her computer, not even her tablet." Xi Ana can't believe what she's hearing right now, this is the first time someone actually had the audacity to stop her from working. Even Hannah was quite shocked, no one has ever tried to forcefully stop her from working.

She suddenly had the urge to drop the call but decided not to when she heard him sigh and spoke in a soft voice, entirely different from the previous one that he had used.

"I know it makes you frustrated, I know you're not used to this, and I'm really sorry. I want you to know that I'm doing this because I care so much about you."

Xi Ana felt as if her heart was pricked with a needle, her features softened as she sighed in defeat.

"Fine, I will sleep now but no one else is allowed to make me sleep for the next few days until I'm done with this. Understand?"

This is better than nothing, Lim Yi Sheng thought.

"I promise."

We started our relationship as if we're on a business meeting, we got married for the sake of marrying.

Joseph woke up, feeling very refreshed the next morning.  Stu had bags under his eyes when he served breakfast.  Apparently, he hadn't gone to sleep the night before as he was busy working on new recipes.  He seemed to be obsessed with seeing what he could smoke in the smoker other than meats.
All of the comments that Joseph had mentioned the day before had his head twirling, and he had been working on new recipes as well.  He was so preoccupied with the new ideas, it never occurred to him, to ask where Joseph might have encountered any of the dishes before.  He was hoping it didn't occur to him, or that he assumed it had something to do with his father's traveling habit.
Fortunately, his father could simply order him not to talk about anything concerning him if it became too much of an issue.
In only three days, it would be time to depart again, and Joseph was determined to comprehend the FOOD rune.  He spent all his waking time in his father's study, staring hard on the rune and concentrating on nothing else.  The trance that had taken hold of him the first time did not return, and he found it incredibly difficult to stay focused.  Staring at an object that he knew was not moving, but appeared to be, reminded him very much of the optical illusions from his other lives.
After two hours he simply couldn't handle it.  His head was splitting.  Maybe there was something he wasn't doing right.  He went to talk to Stu. On his way, he checked in the system, and those agonizingly slow two hours still counted towards his goal.
Stella was in the kitchen, stirring soup.
"Is Stu around, Stella?" he asked, sniffing something that looked like a thick stew, in another pot.
She whirled around in surprise, obviously not having heard him enter.
"Oh!  I'm so sorry!  Master Stu is asleep.  He was standing at the table, talking about smoking something, when he just fell over, out.  I can try to wake him, if you want?"  She glanced over at the cot uncertainly, where Stu's feet were just barely visible.
Joseph smiled in amusement, and turned to the table.  There was an assortment of different foods scattered.  Some had been smoked, and others were probably ready to be smoked.
"No, that's alright.  What are you doing?"
"Well," she said, still uncertain.  "Since Stu is the one who normally cooks for everyone, but he's out cold, I figured the master would get upset if there wasn't anything to eat for lunch.  Except, the only thing I know to make is soup, so I hope that's okay?"
"You made all this by yourself?" He looked around at the numerous pots of varying types of soups, all boiling away and about ready to be eaten.
"Well, there are a lot of people to serve.  I also have breads to go with them all.  I just hope I didn't forget anything."  She looked around, obviously worried, and Joseph couldn't help but chuckle at her disheveled appearance.
The girl couldn't be much older than himself, and he couldn't imagine preparing all of this.
"Even if father doesn't like it, I think you will be okay.  The fact that our bellies will get something in them, will be enough."
"Well, I tried to make all of them the same, but I ran out of some of the ingredients, so I tried to improvise like Master Stu does sometimes…" she trailed off, looking a little lost.
"He said that you should always add buckwheat flour to the potato soup, but normal flour in the others..." her voice trailed off again as she ran from one pot to the next.
His head was starting to feel much better after witnessing her troubles.  Even if she got something wrong, she couldn't possibly have done worse.
"I'll send for some of the slaves to help you serve this up.  And if Stu gives you any trouble for it, just remind him that he needs to try smoking cheeses.  That should distract him well enough for you."
She nodded, still with that lost look in her eyes, looking around at the pots.  
He left her to the kitchen, ready to try studying again.  Maybe he just couldn't handle trying for so long.  He would set a time limit of an hour and rest for fifteen minutes before starting back up, until he could talk to Stu about it.
Lunch was fantastic, and he never had to say a word to his father about the incident.  His headache was starting to come back around the edges by supper time, which had him a little worried.  Fortunately, Stu was up and he could ask him about how long he should study at a time.
His response was very reassuring.  What he had been doing, by setting a time limit and allowing his mind to rest, was exactly what he should be doing.  Apparently, most children couldn't handle concentrating for long, and headaches were the number one clue that it was time for a break.  Though, Stu assured him that he shouldn't have to worry about it.  No one could stand to stare at a piece of paper and think about it for that long.  The willpower necessary would just be impractical. The more he practiced, the better his mind should get, and the longer he could handle it.
Joseph remained quiet after this revelation, and allowed Stu to continue.
Stu informed him, that it often took months for a rune to be first comprehended, not to rush it.  Joseph decided not to tell him that he had studied for almost ten hours that day.
The next day he managed to get twelve hours in, but only because he had to sleep less.  He was able to squeeze in eight more hours while they were packing and preparing to leave.  Stu gave him some notes so he could keep working, but they were mostly descriptions of what the known spells could accomplish.  He would have to comprehend them on his own.  While the system could help him, he was glad to know what the required path was.
Certain spells had to be learned before others, and some, while not required, made learning others easier if they were learned first.  That information would save a lot of time and effort, and he wouldn't lose a lot of valuable time.
After thinking about it, Joseph figured it only made sense that in order to more easily comprehend later spells, one should have to comprehend the base rune completely.  Once he had the food rune figured out, he would need to learn test food, then decay, then purify food. If he tried to skip decay, then purify food would cost extra magic to cast.
As they got on their way, the trip was mostly uneventful.  He spent the entire time pouring over FOOD, and studying Stu's notes during his breaks.

It was the first time he could remember such a depressing update.  Maybe other mages had books about the study of magic itself, but learning by trying to comprehend just one rune wasn't making any real progress.
The next town didn't have any mages so he continued his study, and started working on externalizing mana.  Fortunately, the rune FOOD was on magical paper, to allow him to study it, but soon he would have to figure out inscribing.  True mages could trace the rune in the air, but beginners could use the magic paper. The magic paper would be used up in a single attempt, so he would have to spend hours practicing the rune before actually inscribing it with magic.
If he had the rune on the magical paper, he could use that rune to cast a spell, otherwise he would have to spend another 200 hours learning to write it in the air.  He decided to go ahead and use the paper to cut down on the time needed to accomplish his mission of casting his first spell, so he could get those five life points and cut down on his needed hours for sleep even more.
Because he had no bonuses learning to externalize the mana, it would take 200 hours.  Then it would take 50 hours for each method: gaze, area, breath, missile, and jet.  He realized it was no wonder that most mages took years to learn magic.
After only half an hour, he was exhausted trying to externalize his magic.  When he checked Stu's notes concerning it, he saw that it was normal for an adult to only last about an hour during training.  It was reassuring to know that as a child, he wasn't doing bad, and he knew that he would be able to work up to that hour.

Joseph was ecstatic to have finished his first rune, and even though the hours listed seemed like a long time, he would soon be able to diversify into more spells and other runes.
Checking the system, he saw that once he was down to just three hours of sleep, it wouldn't let him go any less without another 10 points and a reason to justify stepping beyond humanity.  He looked back over the required hours of study before casting his first spell, and saw it was 650 hours.  Sitting back, he felt a bit intimidated for a few minutes.  Then he remembered that was nothing compared to the years that every other mage had to endure.
It was time to throw himself into this wholeheartedly!
