Today I got awaken up earlier because of the urge to go to the toilet. It was still dark out here, and only a few hardworking maids are already up and working. Such dedication even though they wouldn't receive anything in return. I don't think I could change the mindset of the people here right away, but I at least would like to give rewards for my worker. 


I doubt they could accept it as a start. For example, Shana. I told her that every Friday is her rest day, so she does not need to do anything, but once I looked away, she was back to cleaning and washing the laundry. 


Now, let's talk about the toilet and hygiene. Surprisingly it is much cleaner than my previous world. They have such things as clean magic, in addition, Amanda had made it so convenient that the toilet bowl feels like a black hole. 


The toilet is also enchanted by various magic circles;
- Cooling atmosphere
- Soundproof 
- Perfume smells


After I am done with my business, upon closing the door. The last magic circle would activate the clean magic automatically. My life is getting too convenient. What about a bath you say? Similar to the toilet, if the room detects a person coming into the room. The water will flow non-stop. There no such thing as wasting water in this world. It is made up of magic after all.     


There are soaps in the bathroom, but the water has already been enchanted by Amanda to be able to clean off all of the dirt in your body and at the same time will give out the nice smelling smell. I was told that Mike was the one that complains about these little things. 


Mike, if you're going to help to change, at least help to change everything man. Well, it's not like it is his responsibility. He might be a Japanese person from how he like his body to be clean, well most of the novel that I have read comes from Japanese anyway… Hmm, enough about that.


There are more important things that I need to take note of. For example, why are all the maid and soldiers running away from me? OI, what's up with you guys? The most problematic thing is that… I am lost. I tend to get sidetracked, in addition to that, I tend to easily get lost in the dark. 


It's probably still four or five in the morning as people are already up to do their work. 


"Excuse me, may I know…"


"GARGHHHHH!!!"


The maid runs away as if he saw a ghost. What the hell is wrong with them? Hmm? This looks to be the finance place if I were to backtrack I should be able to go back to my room. It seems the situation is getting worse. I heard people saying there's an invasion and there were some that kept on insisting that I am out to get revenge on them. 


Am I that bad as a person? Raul breathe! Breath! Don't let yourself down. No! Why are you coming out!! Tear!? This is so depressing… Sigh* 


It was a few minutes later that I manage to reach my room safely.


"WOAH!?? Is… Is that master?"


"Shana? What's wrong?"


"T-This is a surprise… So you could wake up early after all…"


What am I? Am I not a human? 


"Is that such a surprise?"


"You surprise me, master! This is the first time I see you up before me."


"What time is it? You are up so early. It's supposed to be your rest day though?"


"Arh... Hehehehe"


"What hehehe? Go back to sleep."


"Ouch… Ouch, M-Master please be gentle with me!"


Don't misunderstand. I am just pulling her ear… Literally pulling her ear to force her to go to bed. 


"…. Ouch! By the way, master… Did you just got out using that kind of clothing?"


"Hmm? Yeah, why?"


"Your shirt and pants are all white… Someone might mistake you as…"


"Guys I heard that the fifth division maids saw a ghost of Raul. Don't tell me he had that kind of power?"

Looking at the face of this embarrassed slave of mine, made me turn on. No… No… I have Emelia! She is stuck because I hug her to bed so that she wouldn't continue working. Initially, she struggles and begging me to stop but seeing how I didn't do anything she settles down. 


It's kind of hard to sleep when you feel like someone is staring at you but not long I started to hear snores from her. I didn't expect she manage to sleep so soundly before me. Unlike her, I didn't choose to wake up, so it's kind of hard to fall back to sleep. 


So, I started to play around with her ears, seeing her cute reactions and after that…. I forgot …  I fell asleep I guess. 


 "M-Master… Can you release me now?"


"S-Sure… Remember today is your rest day. Do not do any chores. You can cook and get groceries but don't do anything else. You should get a hobby, Shana."


"Ehh…"


"If you don't listen, I will hug you again till you sleep again."


"…"


She looks to have mixed feelings… Don't tell me. My punishment is something that she likes? Oh well it's a reward for me too, and at the same time she won't work, so it's good in both ways. 


"O-Okay…"


After I release her, she quickly runs out to her room. Yeah as you expect, the room in this palace seems like a normal four-room house in my previous world. Except there is no toilet here and I am forcing to go to the central building to do my business. There are two rooms, a living room, dining room and a kitchen. 


Now… There's nothing for me to do again huh… I wanted Shana to teach me how to read and write but it is her resting day. Alright, time to not do anything.


I wish this continues forever.

A soldier was reporting to a beautiful lady that starting to look very grim. She started banging on the table before she forgot that she isn't strong enough and receive a painful effect. The soldier gave her a wry smile before quickly running out of the room.


"O-Ouch….. I blame you, Raul! I won't ever believe that you are the groom of princess Amanda! I will expose your crime of taking advantage of her due to her magic power!"


Yes, if you all remember. This is the daughter of the duke, Lenalee. The cause of why Raul is forced to get married to Amanda in the first place. 


"She even told me that he is such a kind and responsible man. What kind of man destroy such environment and even feared by the soldiers and maids alike. I still remember my conversation with Princess Amanda."

"What's with that suspicious pause? Don't tell me you got threaten?"

"Princess! Don't lie to me! How could you marry such an evil person! I heard that because of him a lot of animals were killed during the experiment. On top of that my spy told me that he is going to build an orphanage to make an experiment on those innocent children!"


"Urgh… No, Lenalee you are mistaken about Raul. He isn't that bad. He even forced me to rest and stop working."


"FORCE? He uses force on you!? Why can't he let you work princess? Don't tell me he is going to sabotage from the inside? I also heard that the soldiers were scared of him? There were even rumors that anyone that talk bad about him could be a curse and will be able to see his ghost walking around during the night."


"C-Calm down Lenalee. Everything's fine. He treats his slave nicely too. I have never seen such good interactions between a master and a slave. I even feel envious of them."


Her words can't be trusted at all. She looks as if she is guilty of something. Don't tell me he did something to her? If she tries to expose anything she would suffer? Wait did she just said he own's a slave? 


"W-Wait a slave!? Does he own a slave? Isn't that worse! Princess, did you get hit by a charm of his too? You even said that you are envious of them! T-This… It's much worse than I thought it would be. Please excuse me, while I find someone to handle him! Princess! don't worry I will save you at all cost!"

I quickly walk off from the Princess, it seems that my best friend was already affected by his magic power. I was told he is gay, but I didn't think women were also his kind of bidding.

Unfortunately, I am forced to drop the story...
The project is taking a huge amount of my time and I do not want people to suffer waiting just because of it.

SAINT VILLA.
The alarmed went off waking Aaron up abruptly. He stretched his hand to the table and picked the phone turning off the alarm. As he put the phone back he felt movement under the blanket and immediately lifted the quilt and got startled to see Mai sound asleep. 

Aaron frowned and thought back to the night before. Because he didn't want to sleep in the same bed with Mai, he intentionally got home late and made sure he locked the room before going to bed after checking to ensure that Mai was sound asleep in her room only to wake up and see her in his bed again.

It looked like she really ignored all his warning and still sneaked in to sleep in his room but, where could she have gotten the key from? He thought. Aaron sighed and got down from the bed and quickly went into his closet to dress properly. It seemed he could no longer sleep in only his undergarments because of Mai.

Aaron got out dressed casually and saw Mai sitting on the bed. Mai smiled at him saying 'I kept my promise right? I pretended to be asleep so that you could change comfortably before I opened my eyes. I did well, right?'

Aaron walked to the bed and pulled her up saying 'you…didn't I tell you not to come into my room again?'

'And I told you I couldn't sleep alone. It's too scary and I get nightmares'.

'I definitely locked the door before going to bed. How did you get in?'

'Oh, that? I knew you would do something like that, so, I made my own key from a mental I bought at the shop outside the villa. I told you, I'm very smart'. 
Mai smiled and Aaron became frustrated and pointed at the door.

'Get out, right now, this minute'. 

'Okay'. Mai walked to the door and turned to speak to him as she opened the door 'Mr. Saint, you should sleep with clothes from now onwards, since we are now two using the bed and I wouldn't want to accidentally touch it'.
 Mai blinked innocently as she said it.

'I know, just get out'. Mai ran out as Aaron screamed at her.

MIND HEALTH HOSPITAL.
Mai got out of the car and stood next to Aaron. She looked at the hospital sign board and turned to Aaron saying.
'Are you seriously bringing me to see a psychiatrist?'

'Yes, you're dangerous for my health, let's go in'. Aaron held Mai's hand and walked in before she could even protest.
Mai scanned the room as Dr. Sam looked at her. Mai walked to a picture of a family of three and spoke as her. 

'Doctor, is this your family?' Dr. Sam smiled bitterly as he spoke.

'Yes, my wife and daughter'.

'You have a beautiful wife and a pretty daughter but…?' Mai turned and looked at him as she continued 'why do you sound sad?'

'What did you say?' Dr. Sam looked at Mai as she walked to take a seat in front of him.

'I asked why you look sad when you have such a beautiful family?'

'Because, they are not with me'.

'Are they out of the City?'

'No, they are dead. They died in an accident seven years ago'.

'I'm sorry, I'm not usually nosy'.

'Is okay. I'm totally over them, I just missed them since today is their dead anniversary'.

'Today? Then, why are you at work and not at home. times like this, you shouldn't be working'.

'I know, but, my curiosity got the best of me. I decided to come because of you'.

'Do you know me?'

'This is our first meeting'.

'I know, but, you spoke as if we've seen each other before'

'Dr. Kash sent me your file and I studied it before'.

'Oh, I see. Alright, I'm sorry for taking your time when you should be mourning'.

'Don't be sorry, my daughter had panic disorder before she died. When I heard about you, it reminded me of her, I had to meet you and I'm also curious about you'.

'You're curious about me or my condition?'

'Both'

'Why? Why are you curious about me?'

Dr. Sam looked at Mai and thought to him 'because I saw you in a picture with my daughter'. He smiled and picked a chocolate bar from his fridge and gave to Mai saying.

'Eat this, I'm sure you must be nervous since this is our first meeting?'

'You see right through me, thank you'.
 Mai unwrapped the chocolate bar and started mooching on it.

'So, Mai, can you tell me about yourself?'

'I don't have anything to say. If doctor has something you want to talk about just speak. You must have a lot to say since today is a memorable day for you?'

'You also seem interested in me?'

'Is that how it seems? Maybe it could be the picture of your daughter. She…gets to me in a way. Funny, right?'

'Could you have known her somehow?'

'What? No way. There is no way I would have known her. Seven years ago, I was probably not even in this City. What is her name?'

'Next time you visit, I will tell you her name and answer any question you have about her'.

'Are you throwing a bait at me?'

'Is it working?'

'No, don't. The next time we meet? It might not be me. Doctor, you know, right? I have DID. Next time, it could be any of my sisters and I doubt they would want to meet you. Honestly, I didn't know we were coming here? Let's say, I got fooled?'

'No'. Mai answered as a matter of fact and got up with her bag adding 'that's it for today, right?'

'Yes, since you don't want me to ask more than one question'.

'Good. Thanks for the chocolate, see you next time'.

Dr. Sam took out a picture of two girls in a senior high school uniforms as soon as Mai went out. Dr. Sam looked at the picture. It was a picture of August Maijune and Julieta holding flowers with smiles. 
Dr. Sam murmured as he looked at the picture 'what connection do you have with my daughter, August Maijune. Why didn't she ever mention of you?'.

It was definitely love at first sight for August Maijune the day she first saw Aaron Saint in the hospital ward.

The scariest doctors were those who had too much energy as well as home mortgages to pay off—they wouldn't care about the system, society, or pressure. This phrase was mostly accurate. After Gao Shijun's meeting was over, everyone began their day's work. Li Hongtu had been feeling unwell over the past few days, and Cui Pingjun was too lazy to want to do any surgeries. Since Cui Pingjun was limited in medical ability but was a loyal follower of Gao Shijun's, Gao Shijun pretended to see nothing. Basically, in Zhang Fan's four-person team, all the work was being done by Zhang Fan and Wang Yanan.
Zhang Fan had his System which strengthened his body's physical stats, which meant that he was able to continue working despite only a limited amount of sleep. However, Wang Yanan wasn't able to take it anymore. Three surgeries were scheduled for today, and it would be afternoon by the time that they were finished. Not only that, both Zhang Fan and Wang Yanan had 24-hour work shifts today. Zhang Fan noticed in the operating room that Wang Yanan was wobbling unsteadily on her feet, so he said, "You should rest for a while since anesthesia isn't finished yet." She was truly tired, and couldn't be bothered, so she pulled out a simple hospital bedsheet and lay down on it. A few minutes later, she was already emitting tiny snores.
"Honestly, she just has to want to be a surgeon. That type of work is for stronger men. Why is a little girl like her participating in such work?" Xia Yonghong, a veteran female anesthesiologist, felt rather sorry to see Wang Yanan like this.
"It's what she wants to do. Weren't you also like her back in the day?" Zhang Fan helped the anesthesiologist to adjust the patient's body.

He knows to take pity on you. Just look at you, insisting on working in surgery. Just look at how tired you are." Xia Yonghong's words made Zhang Fan feel rather awkward.

Zhou Chengfu was working the night shift, so Zhang Fan didn't want to make him work the day shift as well. Xue Fei was working only an ordinary short shift today, and Director Gao was out visiting patients, so Xue Fei had left work long ago.

She had thought it would be a two-person meal, but it became a meal for all coworkers. While nobody else was paying attention, she viciously stomped on Zhang Fan's foot with all her might.

Later that evening, Zhang Fan woke up Wang Yanan, telling her that she should eat since it was dinnertime. She was indeed starving. Although the meat buns had all started sticking together, she didn't care at all after heating them, and started devouring the meat buns ravenously.

Lina blow dried her hair until its only just a little damp and went out to the bedroom.

Her back went stiff as a log when she saw Liwei is inside, putting a shirt on. He didn't rush putting his shirt on even when she was there, so she saw his body again.

"Hi. Where will you sleep?" she asked, just to fill the awkward silence.

"Here." He simply replied and he went next to the bed, pulling out the tucked duvet so he can get in between.

"Where will I sleep?" She asked, stillpuzzled by his response.

"Here." Tapping the space next to him on the bed

"Uhhhh."

"We've slept together before, Lina." He added patiently, his lips curving to a slight smile.

"That's different. I don't remember most of that." She argued.

"I'll make sure you remember this time." Liwei said as he got up to move closer to her with a teasing glint in his eyes.

Lina took a horrified gasp. Liwei laughed, and softly flicked Lina's nose as he stood in front of her and promised her.

"Don't worry ,baby, we'll just sleep. For tonight. We're not married yet anyway."

Then he looked down towards her clothes, smilingly whispered, "But you know, since were getting married tomorrow…" Wriggling his eyebrows at her.

Lina ran towards the bed and hid under the blanket. "Liwei, you! You chose this clothes purposely. Don't you dare touch me!" She said with false bravado.

Still chuckling, Liwei went ahead to switch off the main room light. Only the two side table lamps are lit and gives the room a warm glow.

"I didn't choose any of that, though I did enjoy looking at them on you. I just told my shopper to buy appropriate clothes for the mountain, including a swimsuit and pajamas." Liwei said as he got on the bed too, under the blanket.

Looking at her, still with a sly smile, though she's hidden by the blanket with only her face showing, "I might give her a bonus with her choices for today."

"Hmmp! She must have bought you a lot of clothes for women then. Tell her next time to get something one size bigger, these are all small on me.  Do you like thinner women?" She testily informed him.

"Actually this is the first time I asked her to buy women's clothes for me. I will make sure of the right size next time, Mrs Wu. You're already making demands and we're not yet married."

She ignored his last comment and said, "Wait, so how did she know what size to buy then? You didn't tell her it's for me, did you?"

This time, Liwei, rolled his eyes at her, "You're almost the same height as her, so I told her to get something that will fit her."

"Ahhh..."  Before Lina can say more, "Go to sleep Mrs Wu, before you wake up my baser instincts since we're already in bed like this." Liwei told her with a soft growl on his voice.

Lina turned to face the other side, pull the blanket to cover her properly and said, "It's still future Mrs Wu. You never know."

Lina heard a soft laugh and a firm "You wish." And let sleep take her away.
Liwei was woken up by the sunlight hitting his face directly. He looked towards the wall where the clock is and saw its almost nine o clock in the morning. It's been a while since he had slept in this late. He's usually up at five every morning so he can work out for an hour before starting a crazy day of work. He's usually in the office by seven, even though working hours are officially from eight to five, unless he's got an early meeting elsewhere. And stays well into the evening, usually after nine or ten o clock at night.

He's got two executive assistants in the office to keep up with his work schedule. And his personal assistant, Zhang Yong is there to assist him in day to day activities, including those that he can't get to at the moment because of the wedding. He strongly implements a good work life balance to his employees. WuComp's HR department constantly monitors the employees' productivity and working overtime is limited unless deemed necessary. But of course that does not apply to him. Ever since he started WuComp almost 12 years ago now, he has worked just as hard if not harder than he did before.

Looking down at the beauty cuddled next to him, warm and soft from sleep, he realized he need to start lessening his work load so he can enjoy more of this. 

It must have gotten colder as the night deepened, Lina crept closer to him even in her sleep to seek his warmth. 'I need to move to the mountains.' He thought to himself as he hugged Lina closer.
But they have a lot to do, so he nuzzled her neck, her face and her hair like a playful cat to wake her up. Slowly, she opened her eyes and smiled. So pretty!

Muah! Liwei just can't help himself, he kissed her lips. "Wake up sleeping beauty, we have to go."
Lina just nodded and went back to sleep. 

"Okay, I'll just change your clothes myself then carry you to the car." He loudly told her.

"I'm up. I'm up!" Lina hurriedly sat down and groggily made her way to the bathroom.

"Come out when you're ready." he called out and went to the other bedroom where his clothes are and to use the bathroom. By the time he was ready, the care taker of the house has laid out a light breakfast for them. There is a cabin connected to the main house where they live. He thanked them as they left the dining room.

After a few minutes, Lina came out wearing her dress from yesterday. Due to the morning chill, she brought a small blanket she got from the room and wrapped her shoulders with it.

"Drink the soup while its hot to warm you up." Liwei told her which she happily complied.
"I asked Jenny to link your calendar to me." Liwei told her as they ate.

"Okay."

"And I noticed that your current schedule and mine does not match at all, I can only see you after three months." Liwei continued, looking at her seriously.

"Okay?" Lina said again, saying it like a question, confused on where the conversation is going.

"You don't think there's anything wrong with that?" Liwei asked with sharp look in his eyes.

"Umm no." Lina shook her head. "Those were schedules confirmed way before we met each other. What can I do?"

"From now on, I want to approve your schedules before you confirm them." He stated as he went back to eating.

"That's fine. We already confirmed my schedules for the next 2 years. And the team agreed not to accept more beyond that. Of course, if something comes up, it will ony be accepted if we can fit it in between." She easily agreed.

"I'll try and adjust mine then so I can see you sooner." Liwei said as they finished eating. "If you're ready, lets head out."

When they were in the car driving back to his house, his phone rang, its Zhang Yong. He picked up the call through the car system so Lina heard the conversation.

"Zhang Yong." Liwei answered the call.

"CEO Wu, good morning, I've managed to arrange your schedule. You have 4 days free, and so does Madam Lina."

"Okay, please arrange everything as discussed. Thank you." and dropped the call.

After a few seconds, Lina can't hold on to her curiosity and asked, "What's that about?"

"That, my future wife, means we have time to go for our honeymoon." 

Lina just nodded her head, as she had completely forgot that honeymoon exists for newlyweds. And stayed quiet but had noisy thoughts in her head for the whole trip back.

A lonely figure stood in front of Wang Jing's grave. The wind blew softly as the grass swayed in the wind.
Yi Jie climbed up the steep steps towards the grave. Wang Jing was buried on a cliff facing the sea. As she reached the top, she saw a young boy.

"Master Xu." An old butler came to call the young boy.
Xu Yang turned to face him before looking at Yi Jie.
"I'm going now, sister. Take care."

Xu Yang turned to face Wang Jing's grave again and smiled.

Right now, everyone was gathered in the Wang Mansion's garden. They had just finished an outdoor dinner and were currently drinking while the children played in the background.
"Ah Wu, where do you want to go?" Daiyu asked. The baby boy loved his mother very much and preferred sitting on her lap rather than playing with the older kids.
"Swimming!" He said happily.
"Ohhhh that's a good choice, Ah Wu!" Bob smiled and ruffled his hair.
"Uncle Bob will cook corn for Ah Wu?" He asked, tilting his head to one side.
Bob laughed and nodded.
"Sure!"
The children had grown accustomed to their yearly beach trips and night grills. Bob always grilled corn for them while the adults drank.
"Then let's go sometime in late July. We'll be taking the kids to the summerhouse first." Liu Jin said as he took a swig of his beer.
"Hey, count us in! I wanna bring my kids there too!" Zhihao chimed in.
"Then why don't we all go together?" Daiyu suggested.
The others nodded in agreement.
As such, that summer, everyone visited the Liu summerhouse together.
"Where's your brother?" Daiyu asked Zhihao.
"Oh you know. That guy's a workaholic. He rarely comes to join us for a drink these days." He sighed.
Daiyu frowned. She took out her phone and gave Zhichen a call.

Meanwhile, inside the top floor of the Zheng Corporation's headquarters, a man sat behind a desk with stacks of papers on each side. Suddenly, his phone rang. He took it out and answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Zhichen-gege!"
He chuckled.
"Xiao Yu, what's wrong?"
"Zhihao-gege told me that you have been working too hard. Stop working and come out and play!"
He laughed.
"Sorry Xiao Yu. Things have been pretty busy lately." He said as he played with a pen with one hand.
The truth was that things were going great. In fact, it was going too great. The company was running smoothly, his parents were healthy, and his nephews were growing up well. When the surroundings were too quiet, one tends to remember one's loneliness. As such, he had been busying himself with work.
He was taking in more projects than usual and he often worked overtime. At least, his job kept his mind busy and he had no time to worry about anything else.
"Hmp!" Daiyu openly sulked and Zhichen laughed.
"I'll make it up to you guys, alright? When's the next trip?" He asked.
"Late July. We'll be going to the beach as usual. You better not skip it, okay?"
"Alright."
"Promise?"
"Promise." He smiled and the call ended.
He let out a huge sigh and continued working.

That night, around nine in the evening, it was raining hard and the roads were slippery. Zhichen rode the elevators down to the underground parking lot, preparing to go home. He wanted to work some more but his eyes were too tired to focus. As such, he thought it best to sleep for a while. Taking out his car keys from his pocket, he entered his car, buckled the seatbelt, and drove out of the building.
On his way home, there was only light traffic. Since the roads were wet, not many people wanted to risk it. Still, Zhichen was too tired and he hurriedly made his way home. Stepping on the accelerator, he sped through the roads.
Upon reaching the last intersection before the Zheng Residences, the traffic light was green. He sped up and crossed the street, not knowing that an oncoming truck was headed his way from the other side.
In the blink of an eye, the vehicles collided and Zhichen's car spun out of control. The safety mechanisms automatically engaged and the airbags deployed.

"This just in. At nine in the evening, at the intersection between Peony road and Liberation road, a vehicular collision occurred between ….
Zhihao's hand trembled as he watched the news. Beside him, Ying Yue was on the phone with Victoria.
"Alright. Thank you, mom." Ying Yue sighed and ended the call.
"How is he?!" Zhihao asked in a panic.
"He's safe. By some miracle, he only suffered a light concussion and some scratches but his car was totaled. He's in the hospital right now, recuperating."
Zhihao let out a huge sigh of relief, his heart finally relaxing.
"Let's go home." He said as he held her hand.
Ying Yue chuckled and shook her head.
"Even if we leave now, he'll be asleep by the time we reach the hospital. Let's go tomorrow. Let's give him some rest first."
Zhihao hesitated but nodded.

Meanwhile, back at the hospital, Zhichen laid in bed, his head heavy and throbbing. Beside him, Victoria was nagging loudly while Liwei stood beside her.
"Honey, let him sleep first." He urged her.
"Sleep?! If he wasn't lucky tonight, he would be sleeping forever!!!"
Liwei immediately clammed up and Victoria continued her nagging.
Suddenly, a knock came from the door and it opened. A beautiful girl entered the room and smiled.
"Aunty, I'm here to check on Zhichen-gege."
Victoria paused and smiled.
"Meili! I didn't know you work here. Oh do come in. This idiot brother of yours was too careless tonight – 
"Mom. Can you let her do her job first?" Zhichen interrupted.
"Right! Meili, I leave him in your hands."
Meili nodded and went to check up on Zhichen.
"Does it hurt anywhere else?" She asked.
He shook his head. He laid on the bed obediently, watching Meili as she worked.

Zhichen continued staying at the hospital for a few more days. Zhihao eventually visited him and he brought the triplets along too. Of course, the others visited him as well. During those times, he happily chatted with them or listened to them talk. When they left, the empty room enveloped him in silence once again.
He sighed.
To ensure that he rested well, Victoria had confiscated his phone. He couldn't contact his secretary to bring his files over so he had nothing to do. The silence that he once loved had turned into loneliness. The freedom he once wished for became emptiness.
He clenched his fists, hoping to quickly get out of this prison-like room.
A knock came from the door and it opened. The familiar face of the woman greeted him with a smile.
"Zhichen-gege, I'm here to check on you again."
Zhichen paused and smiled.
"Trouble you."

After finally being discharged from the hospital, Zhichen let out a huge sigh of relief. Time to get back to work and get busy. As such, he headed straight for the company.
He returned to his usual routine. He took up the same amount of projects, worked overtime, drowned himself with work, but his mind always wandered off.
He sighed.
He took out his car keys from the desk and headed down.
"President Zheng, there's a meeting… President Zheng?" The secretary asked, confused.
"Cancel it." He said as he waved his hand before entering the elevators.

I didn't know what happened after I passed out, but it was always Adam saving me when I was kidnapped. 
"Can you tell me what happened who was responsible for this?" I asked. "It was Stephanie and Michael they hired a couple of men to kill you." He explained. "But don't worry they won't be bothering you anymore." his eyes turned dark it was a little frightening. "What do you mean they wont?" I was growing worried. "I did something I'm not proud of, but I did it to protect you." She stared with a straight face. When I took a good look at him his clothes were covered with blood and roughed up. I felt chills running down my spine Adam was always clean and neatly put together seeing him like this was scary. "Adam what did you do?" I asked hoping he didn't have any blood on his hands. "I didn't kill them if your wondering just punished them." He stated but that didn't make me feel any better. "The blood on your clothes...don't tell me.." I trailed off. "Its not their blood. Its the blood of the men that harmed you." He explained but I was still worried. "I did what I had to do please don't ask me anymore questions." He said averting his gaze from me. What happened while I was out?  Adam turned into a monster and everyone was working hard for my sake. I need to do something I can't keep being the useless damsel in distress anymore I tried to stand but Adam pulled me back. "What are you going you just woke up stay in bed." He said. "I can't do that I can't keep letting you risk your life for me I have to do something." I said standing but a rush of sharp paid hit me as I tumbled back on the bad. "Stop being stupid stay in bed you had surgery you can't go any wear until your body recovers." He hissed. I knew if he was here I wouldn't be able to leave. "Ok I won't go anywhere." I assured him. He sat back down as he looked threw his cell phone. "Why don't you go home and relax you look tired." I said to him, but he shook his head. "I'm not leaving you." He declared without looking at me. "Adam I'm fine I have doctors and nurses to look after me." I assured him. "I told you I'm not leaving you." He repeated with determination. I hated how hard headed he could be sometimes. I need to come up with a lie to get him to leave. "Can you please check on junior for me?" I asked as he looked at me doubtfully. "Your mother is taking care of him he's in good hands." He said. "I know but he must miss us go check on him please." I begged he started at me long and hard. "Can I go in the morning he is a sleep by now." He reminded of how late it was. And he was right, it was dark out I don't know what time it was, but I knew it was late. "Ok thank you." I smiled. "Now get some sleep you need a lot of rest." He pulled the blanket over me. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep but I was not tired I just woke. I looked at Adam sitting in the uncomfortable chair with his head back trying to sleep. He kept shifting around looking for comfort I felt bad who knew how long he was here beside me. "Come lay with me." I offered. "I'm ok you just sleep." He said. "There is more than enough space you can't sleep on that chair." I reminded. "You really want me to share a bed with you?" He smirked. "Take it or leave it that's the last time I offer you." I rolled away turning my back to him. I felt the bed move as his arms wrapped around my waist as he held me close. It felt so warm as he put his lips to my hear. "I'm never letting you go again." He whispered in my ear. He held me close and I shook from his firm grip. "Don't worry you are too weak for me right now when you get healthy again your body will be mine." His seductive voice rang as if feeling my body shiver. "That's not what I was thinking just go to sleep." I frowned. He didn't speak, his breathing steadied in a calming pattern, he fell asleep faster than I thought he must be really tired. It must have been the warm feeling of his body that I fell asleep as well. I woke up the next morning to an empty bed in was disappointed that Adam was gone but realization rushed in, this was my chance to leave. I quickly stood up trying to remove the IV needles hooked to my body when suddenly the doors swung open Adam stood at the door holding two cups of coffee. "I just stepped out to grab coffee and you try to sneak away." He chuckled with his beautiful smile. "I was just going to use the bathroom." I said to him with an awkward smile. "I'll help you." He said placing the cups on the table as he wrapped his arms around my waist lifting me up. "I can walk alone." I blushed. "What? are you being shy?... I've seen every part of you." He laughed making my heart skip. He curried me to bathroom and I was uncomfortable with him being there. He placed me inside and shut the door as he stood outside. "I'll be right here let me know when you finish." he called out. I placed my hand over my beating heart. I'm glad he didn't join me I don't know how I would have reacted. I flushed the toilet after doing my business and stepped out, he took my hand leading me to bed. I was not in as much pain any more and I could walk freely but Adam was so persistent. "Did you check on junior?" I asked him. "Not yet I wanted to make sure you were ok before I left." I stated. "I told you I will be fine." I stressed. "make sure you eat and call me if you need anything." he
He kissed my forehead giving me a hug before he left Once I noticed he was gone I quickly stood up. I called Sofia to bring me clothes to the hospital and to hurry because Adam might be back. Once she arrived I quickly put on the Jean's and sweater she brought. "Honey are you sure you are ok to leave you haven't been discharged yet." She looked at me with concerned eyes. "I'm perfectly fine I need to leave now let's go!" I hurried to the door and she followed we got in a taxi parked at the hospital and left. "What's Steve's schedule like?" I asked her. "Steve why Steve?" she looked at me incredulously. "We need to get him to talk times running out. what ever he knows is useful information." I explained to her as she pondered on her thoughts. "If I can remember correctly he's probably at the office or some woman's house… at night he always hits up clubs almost every night on weekdays he hosted his own parties and on weekends he goes to those popular celebrities' clubs." She explained, and I was amazed he could party seven days a week. He was the complete opposite of Devon. "Right now, where do you think he is?" I asked, and she shrugged "I don't know." 

I called Jeremy. "Are you ok I'm sorry I couldn't visit you at the hospital I was working at Mystro collecting some Intel." he apologized 
"I'm ok don't worry what have you found?" I asked him. "I found out a lot can we meet I'm just leaving the office." He asked, and we rendezvous at a coffee shop that was not very popular with no traffic.
 Once we arrived he was already seated. Sofia and I sat down at the table. "Are you sure you are ok to leave the hospital where is Adam?" He asked. "I left the hospital and Adam does not know so please do not tell him." I said. "You two are a troublesome couple aren't you?" He laughed. "What have you found.?" I asked getting the point. "Well I followed Harry around and discover he has been meeting with a foreign oil company that deals with construction amongst other things and at first I thought he was doing a business deal, but I ran some research on the company and found they smuggle illegal weapons and stolen military equipment. I have caught them meeting as Harry handed them a lot of cash for exchange of military material." He explained, and Sofia and I started at him shocked. "I have also found that they have been working together for years and that this is the company alleged that your father smuggled money from I have concluded they were working together to frame your father years ago." He added as I felt sick to my stomach with rage. "What's this company called?" I asked. "DCA alliance. Is what they are called." He stated. "Do you have their meeting documented?" I asked. "Yes, I managed to record when I hacked the surveillance vintage." He explained. "Good I want to meet with Harry." I suddenly said, both Jeremy and Sofia looked at me with wide eyes. "Honey are you crazy he will kill you." Sofia said with panic. "Don't worry I won't let anything happen to me I want to speak with him our goal is to make him sign his shares over and that is what he will do." I stated. "you think he will sign so easily?" Jeremy added. "I know it won't be easy, but I have to at least try we won't get any where being afraid of him." I explained, and they nodded
"But still it will be risky." Jeremy added. "I'm aware of that but it's worth a try." I said. "How do you plan to meet him?" Sofia asked. That question had me thinking, I was lost I don't know how I will meet. "I'm not sure." I admitted. "I have an idea...he has a meeting with DCA when he goes to meet them we can hijack his vehicle and advert it where we want and get him alone." Jeremy suggested. "when is the next meeting?" I asked. "Its tonight so we will start preparations right away." He commented. "Good but please this is between the three of us do not tell Adam about this plan." I stressed and they both nodded in agreeance. "Harry never travels alone he is always surrounded by body guards when he goes anywhere so listen carefully to the plan...this is what we will do." Jeremy started explaining in detail. 


We finished off the plan. It was simple yet complicated. We would hire our own men pretending to be Harry's body guards and Driver then lure him away to where we wanted and speak with him without any interference. Jeremy was in charge of collecting a trust worthy team if body guards and Sofia would still be doing her original task to seduce Steve into talking. 
"Jeremy I want you to leave his driver but replace the rest of his crew." I Advised. "Can I ask why?  we have a plan set out already we need to replace all his men." He advised. "I want to see this meeting of his with DCA call me a curious cat, but I want to see who these foreigners are that framed my father." I explained. "And you know the old saying goes. Curiosity killed the cat.. we need to stick to our initial plan." He stated. "Jeremy please let me get closure." I begged. He wasn't happy at the change of plans it was dangerous enough being along with the vicious snake, but I was now asking to crawl in the snake's hole. "Ok but you will need to be careful." He agreed with very little enthusiasm. 

Adam called my cell phone and I panicked he probably went to the hospital and couldn't find me. And answered it with fear. "How are you doing I'm still will junior he wouldn't let me leave right away are you feeling any better." He asked. 
"I'm good doctor just gave me some medication I'm feeling much better." I lied. "That's good make sure you stay in bed I will come see you tonight after I get junior to bed." He explained. "How is he? does he ask about me?" I asked sadness rushing into me. I missed him so much and I've never been away from him this long he must be so sad. And the thing they are most scared about at the moment came suddenly like a tornado, Xi Empire released a list of blacklisted companies and now they can't do anything but to watch their stocks hitting the bottom.

This is their incompetence showing in numbers, they knew they shouldn't have listened to those things. They could only hope that this will just be a passing storm.

As they were watching their stocks go down at an increasing pace, and is now already at the critical level, they couldn't help but sigh. To their surprise, what came next would actually make them as good as nothing.

About two hours after the release of Xi Empire's blacklist, Lim Group released a similar list, no, it is almost the same list blacklisting all of them. It's over, what have they done in their past lives to experience this now is what they thought with heavy hearts. 

Meanwhile, those who have good relationship with Xi Empire remained unfazed because they knew Xi Ana would never do something that would taint her reputation. Knowing the fact that two of the most powerful people in the industry seems to have something going on between them, it is best not to get on their bad sides.

The employees were quite satisfied with the results they've managed to achieve in just a few hours. Stocks were back to normal and the amount of demands for collaboration increases in an unimaginable speed.

While Hannah is busy finishing all the matters at hand so she could follow the president soon, her cellphone rang. Her heart almost leaped when she saw that the caller ID is the private number of the president.

"Yes, president?" she said the moment she answered the call.

"I already know what happened, you don't have to explain anything to me. Don't rush things, you can follow me tomorrow and just deal with everything there for now. I was only on a 30-minutes break so I'm gonna hang up soon. Make sure that everything is already settled before going here." she made everything on point knowing that she only has limited time to spare.

"I understand, President. I'll prepare a thorough report so you can review it once I reached there."

"Okay." and that ended the call. Hannah already know what to do and she will make sure that everything will be done efficiently.

Xi Ana received a voicemail from her husband who explained the current situation in a concise and brief manner which saved her time from reading through everything. He also stated what steps did they take to solve the issue and she's not against it, if she was there it would also be her way of dealing with that matter.

After calling her assistant, she decided to give her husband a call. She only have 15 more minutes before their meeting will resume. It didn't take three rings before the man answered the phone.

"Are you done with your meeting?" the man asked who is, by the way, in the middle of a sudden meeting which was a result from the news earlier.

"We're on a short break, what's the situation on your end? Is there any problem?" he can hear the rush from her voice, she must have limited time.

"No, you don't have to worry about anything. I'll handle everything from here, just finish what you have to do and don't forget to rest. Did you sleep on the plane?" he's worried because he knew his wife went straight to the meeting upon landing in France.

"I managed to take a nap. I have to get back soon, eat your meals and don't drive. Do you understand?" she glanced at her wrist watch.

"I understand. See you soon." his heart felt a little pain when he heard what she said. A nap is not enough, she's been working straight for how many hours but he decided to keep it to himself, it's not like he can stop her from working anyway.

"Uhm." with that short response the call ended.

It was only a normal conversation if you would think about it, there is really nothing intimate about the phone call but the executives who witnessed the entire thing with their own eyes were shocked with how soft the features of their CEO while talking to the person on the other line, which they presume to be the president of Xi Corporation, Xi Ana.

They were called here by the CEO as he would clarify the news that was recently released but before they could start they were interrupted by the call that just ended.

"Everything I was about to tell you will stay here." he set his phone on his side and started speaking with full authority.

"President Xi Ana and I were married." the crowd gasped as he dropped the bomb without warning. Feng Jinnian, who's standing on the side already knew about it but the way the CEO revealed it is really something.

On the faces of the executives formed hundreds of questions but no one dared to ask, they just waited for the next words from their CEO. 

"I would have wanted this to stay a private matter but due to what happened its gonna be hard to do so. We will clarify this through a press conference, as for the appearance of Xi Ana on the conference itself, I will still need to consult with her." Xi Ana has never been good with crowds.

The meeting didn't last for a long time as there is not much to discuss anyway. The only point that matters is that their CEO is married to Xi Ana, the queen of the corporate world.

It's been six days since the news of their relationship spread and people began to ignore it already but they sure are still waiting for the promised press conference which will be held after Xi Ana came back to the country, she already agreed to appearing which surprised most of them.

In the course of one week, the approximate time she was able to sleep were around 10 hours at best. Hannah who's been here for four days now is really worried, she'd tried to coerce her to sleep but she refuses to do so. She was also forbidden by the president to tell the CEO about her lack of sleep for the past few days.

"I'm sorry for being so impudent president but I really have to say this." no matter how good the president is, Hannah knows that a person's body has a limit and if the president continues this she might ruin herself.

"Go ahead and speak." Xi Ana said without removing her eyes from the document on her hand, the pressing matter has been dealt with but she still needs to make sure that such circumstance never happens again.

"You must rest, president." she purposely said the word 'must' indicating that it's not even a choice. She needs rest, she must rest.

"I did rest though." Xi Ana furrowed her brows upon seeing a miscalculation on the financial report she's currently reading and now she finally turned and looked at her assistant who sighed in disbelief.

So she considered the time she closed her eyes for 10 seconds as a rest, what would I do with this boss, she thought.

"Tell the finance department that if they can't do simple math, don't even think of working for me because I don't tolerate mistakes. Since this the first time and considering our current situation, I'll be lenient for now but tell them that there will be no next time."

"Understood, president." she still wanted to argue about wanting her to take a rest but seeing as how the idea was easily brushed off she already knew that she can't do anything about it.

She sat on her designated place and started working on the things she was tasked to do. As much as she wanted to inform CEO Lim, she really cannot disobey what Xi Ana said because no matter what happens, even if they are already married her loyalty will always be with her boss.

Xi Ana, on the other hand, has been working for three hours straight without being interrupted. The last interruption was when she talked to her assistant. She was planning to continue doing so when her phone suddenly rang. Hearing this, Hannah is full of hope that whoever it is, he might as well be able to make her rest even for just a couple of hours.

She frowned upon recognizing who the caller is but she still answered and immediately put her phone on speaker so that she could still work while talking to him. She knows that he will make her sleep as well.

"I've let you off the hook for a week now, Ana." his voice is mixed with worry and at the same time frustration towards his wife. He's sure that she barely slept these past days.

He had someone monitor the situation in France and with the scale of the problem it could take at least a month to fix everything but after only a week almost everything was done, it was solved in an unbelievable speed which he knows that his wife must have been doing extensive overtimes to be able to pull this off.

"Let me off the hook for three more days then." she said seriously. Well, she'll be able to finish it in three days if she's working with her current speed.

Lim Yi Sheng as well as Hannah who have heard what the woman said couldn't help but feel frustrated towards her smart mouth.

"Ana, I'm serious. You should get some rest, you made something that was normally done in a month in just a span of how many days you think I wouldn't know what you've put your body with?"

Xi Ana dropped her pen, crossed her arms, and stared at her phone. "I just need three more days." she almost rolled her eyes as if the person on the other line could actually see.

"How many hours did you sleep for this week?" he ignored her suggestion.

"10 hours." Lim Yi Sheng's face darkened. If we do the math and assumed that she at least slept for the past six nights, it will still be only around 1.6 hours.

"Sleep for the entire night, no more work for you. I bet Ms. Lee can hear me because you're probably on speaker. Ms. Lee, cut off all her work for the rest of the night, unless it's an emergency don't let her near any documents nor her computer, not even her tablet." Xi Ana can't believe what she's hearing right now, this is the first time someone actually had the audacity to stop her from working. Even Hannah was quite shocked, no one has ever tried to forcefully stop her from working.

She suddenly had the urge to drop the call but decided not to when she heard him sigh and spoke in a soft voice, entirely different from the previous one that he had used.

"I know it makes you frustrated, I know you're not used to this, and I'm really sorry. I want you to know that I'm doing this because I care so much about you."

Xi Ana felt as if her heart was pricked with a needle, her features softened as she sighed in defeat.

"Fine, I will sleep now but no one else is allowed to make me sleep for the next few days until I'm done with this. Understand?"

This is better than nothing, Lim Yi Sheng thought.

"I promise."

We started our relationship as if we're on a business meeting, we got married for the sake of marrying.

Ryn closed the door and headed to the elevator. After all the activities with Mika, she was finally able to have time for herself. And it was time for gym session. 

When she reached the gym, she saw many models were already working hard. She greeted those she knew and joined them.

"You're late," Genie teased, still running on the treadmill.

"There is a place for me here, right?" Ryn started a quick warm up before she joined Genie, running on the treadmill next to the model.

Some of the models brought their own trainers along. 

Even Genie brought her own trainer.

Ryn giggled when she heard Genie's groan whenever the movement was too hard or when the trainer kept pushing her even though she was already tired.

"I wish I could see you working out like this. Let see whether you can still smiling," Genie gasped.

"No. I am not going to do that. I'll stick to the easy and relaxing exercise," Ryn replied.

"What's her definition of easy and relaxing?" Genie's trainer chuckled.

He had seen what Ryn was doing since the moment she started exercise and although there were some movements too simple, Ryn seemed to know exactly what she was doing and gradually increasing the difficulty of her exercise.

"One that can finish quickly so she can sleep early," Genie replied. Her eyes glanced at the clock on the wall. It was already late and she swore she heard Ryn yawned.

"Alright. I'm done. Good…. Yawn… workout, everyone. See you tomorrow," Ryn yawned. She used only two fingers to hold onto her water bottle. 

It was time to sleep!

"How could you, Ryn!" Genie cried and wanted to follow Ryn back to her room but her trainer stopped her.

"You have an hour more to go," he reminded.

"No~ It's unfair~"

"You paid me to put you in shape for tomorrow's night. Suck it up and do it. You'll thank me later."

"Monster!"

Ryn used another card to open the door. She saw Mika curled on the couch, talking in the phone.

"Still working in the middle of the night?" Ryn asked when Mika was finally done with her conversation.

"Like usual. You've finished with your exercise?"

"Hmm… Is there any chocolate yet?" Ryn looked at the chocolate box given by the hotel. She frowned seeing only a third left.

"Mika, how many did you eat?"

"Try to remember back how many did you eat," Mika replied back as she checked the channel in the television. "So boring and I can't sleep."

"I can. Good night." When she could not eat chocolate, better she goes to sleep.

She took a quick shower and changed into a blue pajamas.

"Why can't you wear a nightgown? I brought yours."

"Good night, Mika."

Mika pouted. She thought they could spend the night chatting and having fun tonight.

Mika yawned and rubbed her sleepy eyes when she felt the sunlight hitting her face. 

Ryn turned and smiled at her sleepy best friend. "Good morning, babe. Go fresh yourself. I've ordered breakfast for us."

"Morning. You've gone jogging already?" Mika mumbled.

"Hmm… I'm hungry." She put down the remote control for the curtain and looked outside.

"Is it cold outside?" Mika wrapped herself with the blanket, still sleepy to wake up.

"Not really. Wake up. Or I'll finish all the food."

Mika pulled the blanket to cover her head.

"Mika, come on. You need to wash your face. Later I have to go for the final rehearsal."

Ryn sighed when it only made her best friend furrowed deeper into the bed. The bed was too comfortable. Even she had to push herself to wake up and go for a short run. If she had no show tonight, she would bury herself under the blanket.

Life was so unfair!

Suck it up, Ryn. Only today you have to wake up early. Tomorrow you can spend the whole day on bed sleeping.

Ryn nodded at her thought. Her eyes twinkled at the thought of able to sleep in tomorrow.

She quickly opened the door and welcomed the man pushing a trolley of food into the dining area. They even had a big dining table here!

"Mika, food is here," Ryn called after she paid the meals and sent the man outside.

She lifted the lid and clapped her hands happily. Smell so good, it made her mouth water.

"Mika, breakfast!"

Ryn waited for a minute…. And then two. When Mika still did not come out from the bedroom, Ryn groaned and went into the bedroom to pull Mika out. She could not eat alone, could she?

She could not even see Mika on the bed with the mountain of blanket covering the King sized bed. 

"Mika, wake up. I thought I'm the Sleeping Beauty here, not you. Wake up," she tried to grab hold onto Mika's foot but she only caught the thick blanket. Where the heck was Mika's legs?

"Stop folding your legs like birds. Come on, let's have our breakfast."

Ryn grabbed the blanket and threw it to the floor, exposing Mika's bad posture in sleeping. Mika shivered under the icy air conditional. Her hands reached for the blanket which was already thrown carelessly on the floor.

It took Mika another five minutes to walk to the bathroom, yawning non-stop. Ryn wiped the sweat on her face, relief finally able to wake up her best friend. Her stomach was growling in hunger!

"Finally, we can eat," Ryn pulled Mika toward the dining table. She couldn't wait anymore!

Jeremy took off the glasses he wore and rubbed between his eyes. Finally, he was done with the files. He looked at the clock and found it was already morning.  He only had few hours to rest before he could go to the show.

Instead of his own bedroom, he went to the guest bedroom, where Ryn slept. Her scent was almost gone but he still liked it. He lied on the bed and closed his eyes tiredly. 

"Soon, my love, soon we will be together."

"Don't forget to come home early. At least three hours early."

Harry nodded. He focussed on finishing his bowl of congee and fried bread. Later he planned to have a short game of basketball after a trip to the library. He needed to return the books he borrowed for the last assignment.

"I'll buy new clothes for you to wear tonight. So get back here four hours before."

"But you said three hours just now."

"Make it five. We need to establish your position as a model. We cannot let you wear your old clothes. You must make a stand."

Harry sighed heavily. It seemed like his mother and sister were still unable to quench the excitement of him being a model. It was no big deal so why everyone was made such a big deal over it?

"My clothes are fine, mother. I can wear whatever in the closet."

"No, you cannot. You'll follow me to the boutique."

"I'm late. I'll go first. Thank you for the food." Harry quickly grabbed his bag and rushed out. He would never win against his mother so better to retreat quickly.

On the surface, Ryn looked like a normal quiet girl who only focused on her study and did not even bother
about things outside her study. However, the whole campus was shocked to know she was actually a
popular model who just made a comeback after two years 'retired'. To make them more shocked when a
very popular singer, Jeremy was her ex-boyfriend and now wanted her back. Of course, to add the spice in her life, a model who is her university's mate fell in love with her.
Now she had to choose between these two, as well as balancing her life as a boring student but an exciting model.

“Sign this contract.” He nudged the contract toward her.

“Can I think first?” she asked weakly.

“Five seconds.” Jack felt generous and gave her time to think. “See how good my mood is today?”

Jenny arrives home first and informed their butler she eat at her room. The butler bowed before leaving her to proceed with the task instructed to him. She opens the door to her room and does her shower regimen before proceeding with her school works.
Back at the wedded couple, they just arrived home. They went to their room to change their clothes before staying at the study room working on their respective tasks. Vince is reading through Edward's reports on Stones' Enterprises while Yve is studying for her quiz tomorrow while waiting for the revisions her team mates will send. They stayed quietly that way until Yve received the articles from her teammates. She decided to print them out and while waiting for it, she went to the kitchen to prepare some tea for both of them. When she came back she served a cup to her husband while saying,
"Here's a cup of tea for you, Mr. Gray."
Vince smiled at his wife before replying,
"Thank you so much, Mrs. Gray."
Team Bravo was shocked to see their boss so in love and caring. They also caught a glimpse of their Lady Boss that Team Alpha was just talking about. Vince noticed the reaction of his subordinates and so he coughed a little to get their attention. They all stopped and turned serious again but this sudden action made Yve worried. So after removing the printed papers she asked,
"Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm fine. No need to worry. Just go on with your homework." Vince answered.
"Okay." Yve smiled and continued with her homework.
Yve browsed through the reports with a pen in her hands. She made some necessary corrections before sending them to Lester. In their chat group, Lester immediately replied,
"I received the files. I will work on placing them in our final output."
Yve with the rest of the team replied,
"Thanks. Just send a message when you're done."
Upon reading Lester's response, Yve  
Yve continued reviewing for her test tomorrow.
In Jenny's room, she's still working on revising the articles as she isn't satisfied with their work.
'How can they make these low quality articles when I already gave them the lay-out for the articles?!' Jenny disappointedly exhaled as she finally finished the last article.
 As soon as she finished, she starts to prepare their output for submission. She plainly prints the articles while attaching some wonderful designs on the side. When the output is finally finished, Jenny filled up her group mates' evaluation from her.
'They were useless so why don't I give them a lower grade than they expected. Anyways, they can get it back from this final output's score.' Jenny thought as she continues to type reasons to back up the scores she typed.
Yve's team finally received a message from Lester informing them that it's finished. He sent them a soft copy of the layout in pdf. They all browsed through it and found nothing which needed changes. Contended with the output, they send individual messages,
"Great job, Lester!"
"Thanks for a great layout, Lester!"
"We can all sleep well tonight, Lester! Thank you for working hard. I hope you're ready for the exam."  
However, Yve decided to give Lester a personal message.
"Thank you for an excellent layout, Lester. I hope editing and making the final output didn't jeopardize your time to review for tomorrow's test. Let me handle the printing of this project. By the way, if you have any questions feel free to ask. I will be online until midnight."
Yve extended a hand to her teammate and took note of his efforts in their group project. As promised Yve stayed online until midnight while reading her notes but Lester didn't message a thing. She was about to review her the business reports from Stones when Vince stopped her,
"Mrs. Gray, you have finished your homework so you need to go home now."
With a deep sigh, Yve replied, "But I need to check on these daily reports on my project for Stones."
"You can do that tomorrow. Everything's fine. I got a summative report with a message that you're right on schedule."
"Hmmmmm, that's correct. I was in a meeting with them early tonight."
"See? So why don't you get some sleep. It will be of great help if you will rest. You will have enough energy for tomorrow." Vince tries to convince her to sleep.
"Will you continue to act this way until I go to bed?" Yve curiously asks her husband.
"I will if that's what it takes for you to sleep." Vince answered.
"Vince…."
"You woke up early this morning to confess your secrets to me. You haven't slept well." Vince reminded her of what happened early dawn that day.
"I'll be fine." Yve plainly answered.
"Remember what I told you? I don't have any problems with getting busy juggling in your tasks as long as you will not forget yourself."
"….."
"Sleeping and eating are two of the things I would insist you won't miss." Vince stood firm in his decision leaving Yve with no other option but to obey.  
"Okay, you win!" Yve smiled at him.
"That's good. So I will leave you here to clean up your desk while I get ready for bed." Vince informed her and started to walk away.
As Yve is about to open the folder she just put away, Vince turned around and reminded her,
"Please no more sneaking or else I'll do something you'll be quite surprised on what I'll do."
Giving up to her husband's warning and scared on what naughty thoughts he might do to her, Yve closed the folder and starts placing her folders inside her suitcase.
In a short while, the couple is finally resigning for the nigh which is quite opposite of Jenny's. She's still reviewing the notes she wrote for the topics involved in the quiz. She's quite into it when Steve knocks on her door.
"Come in."
"I thought you might have gone to bed with the lights on again, Jenny."
"I'm not going to bed yet. I need to finish reviewing for a test tomorrow."
"Is the lesson difficult for you to still study until this time?"
"It's not that difficult. I started studying late because I needed to finish the project I talked to you about."
"Oh, I see. Now, I won't disturb you much longer." Steve casually answered before leaving her alone.
'I need to get a higher score than Yve for both the project and the test. Tomorrow, Yve will face a great defeat.' Jenny smiles as she imagines Yve's devastated face.


Today is another busy day for me. Work and home are the only places I go to for the past 3 years. The end of THAT relationship ended my happy, easy-going life. But then, when I think about it, it was not his fault but mine. My friends would tell me that I need to move on. I HAVE MOVED ON. It's just I don't want any side trips anymore in my life. I have my dreams and I am working hard for it. Little did I know what the destiny has installed for me.

"Mom, I still love her. She ended the relationship without any valid reason and I didn't agree."

"But son, what if the reason is that she doesn't love you anymore? Isn't that a reason valid enough for you?"

"I have to know it this time, mom. I did try to go out on dates but still failed. I think meeting her again will help me know what is happening with me."

"I guess I have no other choice. But remember, don't let her disrupt your plans and the family's business."

"I know, mom. Steph, book my flight to the Philippines tomorrow."

"Vincent! Why are you in so much rush?!"

"Because I believe that the early bird gets the worm."
