A beam of white light enveloped Bethanos and the strange device. Wielding a pair of Fire and Ice Blades, Lily charged towards it. Sparks emitted as she managed to scrape its surface. However, the light beam did not move an inch.
"Don't waste your energy." Bethanos sneered. "This artifact comes from the Land of Origins. It's powerful enough to tear the barrier between two worlds into pieces! A mortal's strength is just child's play in front of this miracle."
Hao Ren stared back at him angrily. He did not expect things to turn out this way. Bethanos, the cunning shadeling, was just a few feet away from him, engulfed in a strange film of light as unbreakable as his Steel Membrane Shield. Lily spent half a day trying to force her way in but her efforts were to no avail. Even Y'zaks summoned his Flameburst and blew a hole in the floor but, the light beam refused to budge.
"Bethanos!" Hessiana waved her whip as she stood outside, jumping with anger. "You coward! Bastard! Dang creature! What do you want? Don't you realise you've destroyed the sanctuary?"
"Like I said, you guys are short-sighted." Bethanos looked as if he pitied them. "That's why I never wanted work with you lot right from the beginning. The sanctuary? For a mere thousand years of peace? I can't believe there are people who would be content with that. But I'm different; I know better than all of you. I vie for eternal strength, which is powerful enough to set the world free from demon hunters and humans. In the pursuit of this goal, the sacrifice of a few idiots is totally reasonable."
It appeared to take some time before the strange device behind Bethanos began to fire up. Hao Ren allowed the MDT to hack into the light membrane quietly as he tried to divert their attention. "What the hell is that?" he referred to the device behind Bethanos.
Bethanos did not give a hoot. He just looked at Vivian with a deep gaze. "Vivian Ancestor, the ancient one. I must say, I have to revere you as an elder. But, your memory is a mess. Otherwise, you could've become my best partner. I pity you, you know nothing."
Vivian furrowed her eyebrows. "What do you mean? What should I know?"
Bethanos turned his eyes on the device behind him, seemingly finding that the thing was running slower than expected. He looked impatient, but he soon began to enjoy the process of waiting as he anticipated his victory. With his hands behind him and his body slightly stooped, he began speaking to Vivian outside the light beam like a kind old man. "Do you know that we... I mean, all of us, including humans, vampires, shadelings, demons, wraiths, sirens and other races who are known as Otherworldlings came from another world? We're all creatures not of this planet, not even of this universe..."
Hessiana scratched her head. "Are you just out of your mind because you've become too old?"
However, Hao Ren and the others began to realise: this old shadeling knew something incredible!
"I know some won't believe it." Bethanos remained calm and glanced at Vivian indifferently. "Even those whimmy humans don't believe in parallel universes and the Otherworld. How many Otherworldlings actually possess such foresight? In the first few thousand years, they immersed themselves in greed and lustful desires. Then, they became fugitives and have been living like cowards for the last couple thousands of years. The fool is a sad creature. Shadelings are the only ones in this world who care about all these ancient truths. You people on the other hand, treated the truth like it was a taboo. Tsk, tsk!"
"That thing behind you, it's—" Hao Ren quietly said.
"It's the door to the Land of Origins!" Bethanos felt like he had the situation under his control. His did not find the need to mince his words as he talked to a bunch of prisoners on death row. "The Shadeling Family have been accumulating various broken scrolls and mysterious relics for the past thousands of years. From them, we deduced that we were sent to this world by this amazing thing. It possesses the power to link the two worlds together. It's even comparable to the sun and moon combined! We call it the Sacred Relic of Origins. The name suits it well, doesn't it?"
Then he turned around and looked at the device's bright, crystalised front panel. After that, he shook his head with a sense of regret. "It's a pity that an error took place during the transmission 10,000 years ago. The memories of the ancient ones were erased and some of them even had memory—"
Bethanos paused for a second, glanced at Vivian then continued, "—defficiency."
Vivian remained silent.
Bethanos did not care about their silence. He scratched his chin and kept mumbling in a frenzy. "What was the purpose of the transmission 10,000 years ago? For exploration or subjugation? What does the Land of Origins look like? How powerful is it? What kind of knowledge and power can I find there? Ah... these are good questions and some even make me feel a bit scared. I haven't experienced the thrill of exploring new things for thousands of years. But no matter what lies behind this door, it's not going to be worse than this. And all of you short-sighted wretches will live here in regret."
Hao Ren frowned. He was surprised that as mad as Bethanos was, he had secretly uncovered such a revealing truth. His interpretation was rational and it closely matched the intel Hao Ren had, which made one wonder: was Bethanos telling the truth?
The strange device began to buzz in a low pitch. Bethanos heard it and was delighted. "Aha! Looks like it's almost fully charged. Although I'd like to shed some light on the truth for ignorant fools like the lot of you, looks like it's time to say goodbye. Maybe, I'll come back to this world some time later. I hope all of you will live long enough to witness my return."
After that, he turned around and his eager eyes stared unwaveringly at a series of panels on the device.
A short beep was emitted from the Sacred Relic of Origins as a succession of complicated, glowing symbols, which appeared to be the operation buttons materialised on the panel. Meanwhile, the light beam began to shrink gradually. Obviously, the door Bethanos had mentioned was about to open; he was going to tear open the dimension and go into The Plane of Dreams!
"Stop him!" The MDT rose up. "Don't let that device go into The Plane of Dreams!"
Hao Ren aimed his pistol at the device behind Bethanos; not only was he going to stop Bethanos, he was also going to stop the door from opening. Mainly because, the door would likely become the final nail on the coffin for the shabby Wall of Reality. No doubt, the psionic gun could penetrate the protective light membrane but, it would also totally destroy the precious device.
He was hesitant, however he did not have any other choice. There was no way to stop the door from opening unless the whole system was destroyed.
Bethanos sneered at them and at their futile last attempt. Meanwhile, Hao Ren already had his finger on the trigger. In just a second, the psionic flame would consume possibly the very last sample of the Sacred Relic of Origins.
However, just a second before he pressed the trigger, the device stopped beeping and the light beam faded away.
Bethanos' smiling face froze. Before he could say anything, a cold synthesised voice was heard from the device. "Dedusting operation completed. The dust shield has shut down."
Everyone was speechless, including Bethanos.
"Wait-wait a second!" Bethanos pounced on the device, clearly livid. "Wait a second! It shouldn't be like this! It shouldn't be like this! Where's the door? Where's the Land of Origins? How can this be? You can't just—"
A gigantic, flaming finger then gently tapped Bethanos on the shoulder. Bethanos turned around with his stiffened expression and saw the face of the flaming demon, who was taller than a normal man.
Y'zaks sat down with his legs crossed as smoldering lava flowed everywhere—he was of course careful not to let the lava flow to where his friends were. He picked Bethanos up with his fingers and placed him before his eyes. "Little creature, let's talk about the dialectical opposition between your spirit of exploration and your methods of exploration..."

"Okay, stop talking, " Lu Qian frowned and interrupted in a deep voice.
Yang Yun didn't stop talking right away. Instead, she felt even more aggrieved for him. "Why can't I say it? You like her so much. It's obviously... "

Chapter Four (2)
My father looked around as he saw me enter and said, "I'll be with you in a few minutes, Saria. I'm just in the middle of something. I don't want to break my line of thought."
I just nodded, knowing that a few minutes could easily become hours if my dad was distracted as he looked like he was now. I always had my own projects on the go, so it really didn't matter how long my father took to take note of me.
I went back to my quick refresher of the fabrication language keys that were part of my work ritual. To my surprise when I looked over the papers, I started to see mistakes in the translation of some of the symbols we used for programming. The symbols and their meaning just seemed to leap out at me as if they had always made sense.
Now in my befuddled and confused mind, they were strangely more familiar than my own enclave language. Somehow, I was just sure that our interpretation of some of the symbols was off, and in some cases, misleading.
I shook my head as I thought, How the hell do I just know that? I looked around the room with wonderment, seeing mistake after mistake.
I was tempted to pick up a pencil and make alterations to correct the information on the papers on the wall, but I knew that without a long discussion with my father that it was forbidden to make any such change. He was very defensive about his work as up on the wall was an accumulation of his life's work with his battle to design new items for creation in the fabricator.
Standing in the center of the room with my feet seemingly frozen to the spot for a few minutes, I looked and pondered over what I understood.
What is happening to me? Today is getting just too bizarre! 
It was suddenly as if the symbols and their meanings were all clear to me. Shaking my head to get back into the real world, I moved slowly to one of the consoles that was my normal workstation. I pulled out the heavy wooden chair carefully, as I was still having problems with my abnormal strength. Luckily it only made a bang as it hit the floor with a heavy thud. This drew a strange look from my father as if he was surprised by the noise. Then, distractedly, he looked back at the console he was working on without saying anything.
Typical Dad, I thought. You could have somebody shouting in here and he would just try to ignore them. Come to think of it, Ma has tried to pull him away from work a few times with nagging but he just ignores her. This always infuriates her.
Now I was able to look at the curved console that was a screen and an input device. It was curved like a flat desk at first, but then went up into a vertical section where most of the information was displayed. At that moment, an image of the design I had been working on was still displayed with the programming algorithms surrounding it in text boxes. I started to look through the design information that I had been programming for the past few days.
My goodness, was I drunk when I wrote this programming specification for the fabricator? I wondered as I read through my work.
I frowned as I could see large errors of where I had completely misunderstood the complex code and specification. I tentatively touched the screen, hoping that I would not break anything with my abnormal strength. Nothing seemed to be affected, so I pulled up an input pad on the screen and started to change my code to something much more sensible.
At first, minutes passed and then tens of minutes as I ran through the code. What I had done before seemed to be gibberish to me as the new sequencing specifications became so clear. Finally, with a sigh of happiness accompanied by wonder, I projected the three-dimensional model of the coded item onto the console.
Metal secateurs appeared as they would when they were fabricated within a viewing box on the console. I had been working on simple secateurs to make them lighter and sharper than the hand-crafted tools we used at the moment.
For years, the nursery staff who worked in growing the plants for exports had been begging for some fabricated secateurs. They had hand-crafted tools that the blacksmith made but like anything that was handmade, it was substandard to fabricated tools that often did the job more efficiently.
So, a requirement had come through a few months prior from the enclave council to my father, to creature a set of tools that could be fabricated for the growers. My father had turned this project over to me as a task to do on the side for when more important tasks were not taking up all our work hours.

As the razor-sharp knife I held passed through his scruffy clothing, I felt a slight resistance as it cut into some kind of armor. I guessed he thought that his armor could take my blow, but the expression on his face changed from one of glee to horror as the serrated blade cut open his skin. Twisting the knife, I ripped through his intestines, trying to damage them as much as I could. I quickly pulled my knife back as I danced around to face the next attacker, a woman of about my size. She had a club raised to bludgeon my head.
I sidestepped in an easy move and ducked, seeing the club sail over my head. To the side of me the first man was falling as he grabbed his guts with blood spraying everywhere. When he fell down, two more equally unkempt people stepped forward.
Before they could reach me, I thrust my other knife in an upper cut into the face of the woman with the club. I registered a flash of horror in her eyes as the edge of the knife cut a diagonal line across her face. I sighed as I knew that the damage would be superficial and not fatal, but thankfully she fell back from attacking me.
From my right-hand side, I felt a sharp pain as something pierced my solar plexus and a man holding a club with a tangle of nails pulled back with my blood covering the nails. I didn’t have any more time to think about what was happening to me, as I felt another blow from another attacker. This time the blow was dead-center in my chest where the pouch hung.
My mind turned blank as my thoughts were centered only on the massive amount of pain I was experiencing. This caused me to crumple to the ground, gasping for breath. With deep breaths I pulled in as much air as possible, but it was like breathing in a hot, humid greenhouse.
Once on the ground, by some survival reflex I curled up into a small ball. I was gasping as my heart felt as if pure agony was emanating from it. My hand felt the sticky blood flowing out of the wound. Strangely enough, I vaguely wondered why my hands were now burning as if I had placed them in a fire.
Then from all around me, I started to feel the kicks as the brutal, thuggish pack were determined to finish me off. I could hear the joyful cheers as people shouted out about what they wanted from my possessions as they kicked me.
Suddenly, the burning that had first started in my hands seemed to ignite into an explosion of energy. I felt my chest flash with burning pain. Now instead of the pain of the pummeling from the pack’s rough boots, the more intense pain was the rapid burning that was spreading from my heart to the rest of my body. I felt as if the veins of my body were on fire with burning, acidic lava flowing through them.
The burning heat extended outward as the rest of my body burned with intolerable pain. It was as if the flow of pain was radially extending from my heart being pumped around the rest of my body. While I was in a state of panic, my dominating thought was of the pain that was burning through my entire body. The only thought of relief was that I hoped I’d fall into the darkness of death or unconsciousness. I just expected my mind to shut down with the incredible pain. Then, suddenly, it felt as if the world slowed down.

The Cupbearer and the Baker
1Some time later, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their master, the king of Egypt. 2 Pharaoh was angry with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker, 3 and put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the same prison where Joseph was confined. 4 The captain of the guard assigned them to Joseph, and he attended them.

After they had been in custody for some time, 5 each of the two men—the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt, who were being held in prison—had a dream the same night, and each dream had a meaning of its own.

6 When Joseph came to them the next morning, he saw that they were dejected. 7 So he asked Pharaoh's officials who were in custody with him in his master's house, "Why do you look so sad today?"

8 "We both had dreams," they answered, "but there is no one to interpret them."

Then Joseph said to them, "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams."

9 So the chief cupbearer told Joseph his dream. He said to him, "In my dream I saw a vine in front of me, 10 and on the vine were three branches. As soon as it budded, it blossomed, and its clusters ripened into grapes. 11 Pharaoh's cup was in my hand, and I took the grapes, squeezed them into Pharaoh's cup and put the cup in his hand."

12 "This is what it means," Joseph said to him. "The three branches are three days. 13 Within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head and restore you to your position, and you will put Pharaoh's cup in his hand, just as you used to do when you were his cupbearer. 14 But when all goes well with you, remember me and show me kindness; mention me to Pharaoh and get me out of this prison. 15 I was forcibly carried off from the land of the Hebrews, and even here I have done nothing to deserve being put in a dungeon."

16 When the chief baker saw that Joseph had given a favorable interpretation, he said to Joseph, "I too had a dream: On my head were three baskets of bread.[a] 17 In the top basket were all kinds of baked goods for Pharaoh, but the birds were eating them out of the basket on my head."

18 "This is what it means," Joseph said. "The three baskets are three days. 19 Within three days Pharaoh will lift off your head and impale your body on a pole. And the birds will eat away your flesh."

20 Now the third day was Pharaoh's birthday, and he gave a feast for all his officials. He lifted up the heads of the chief cupbearer and the chief baker in the presence of his officials: 21 He restored the chief cupbearer to his position, so that he once again put the cup into Pharaoh's hand— 22 but he impaled the chief baker, just as Joseph had said to them in his interpretation.

23 The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.

"No, you'd be surprised," Holly countered, "most people have had teeth dreams before. They're a part of the body that people are most self-conscious about. If you have an issue with skin, hair, or fat, it can repair itself naturally, but teeth are different; once you lose all your baby teeth, that's all you get."
"Hmm… I suppose so." Desmond seemed to have been slightly convinced by Holly. "My incredulity aside, what do teeth dreams mean?"
"Teeth dreams are one of the most direct ways for our subconscious to communicate with us. There aren't as many variations as with water or flying dreams, but I'll give you a few examples.
"If someone chips a tooth, they likely have repressed insecurities, or perhaps they feel stressed by something. Rotting teeth are similar to chipped teeth, but the emotions are much stronger, typically extreme anxiety or fear.
"A weird one that I'm fond of is someone pulling out your teeth. That's your subconscious trying to warn you that the person taking your tooth wants something precious to you…"
Jade thought back to the dream and remembered that Frank had yanked out her tooth. 'Ha! So, Frank wants something precious from me? I live in a rundown apartment building; the only thing of value I own, partly, is the cafe, and it's not like he can just walk away with that!'
Quickly dismissing the host's interpretation of her dream, Jade returned her attention to the TV, looking to see what other bizarre nonsense Holly would come out with.
On the breakfast show, Holly had finished talk about teeth dreams and was looking to Desmond. It seemed they had time for a little more, because Desmond said, "Holly, you mentioned flying dreams earlier. I'm sure I've probably dreamt about that before, so what are the meanings behind those?"

The knock at the door made Tania come out of her dream state.

Sanya had been talking to her in her dream and had just left.

Still with closed eyes, Tania became aware of her surroundings. She was in Moscow, in her own house, actually, in her own room. She remembered taking an afternoon nap and having a pleasant dream. It was as if she met herself as a princess who lived in a past life.

As she opened her eyes, she saw that it was almost 4.45 p.m. The elders would be waiting for their tea in another 15 minutes or so. One of them must have come looking for her. Hence, the knocking at the door.

She swung her legs off the bed, got up and walked to open the door. Her paternal grandparents were at the door.

"Yes, Dada ji and Dadi ji?" she asked. (Dada ji- paternal grandfather and Dadi ji Paternal grandmother, Ji is added as respect for people elder to you or even otherwise. You can say Renu ji to me).

"Sorry to disturb you, we did not realize that you had slept," Her Dada ji responded.

"We were proceeding to your kitchen to make tea, but we thought to ask you first as we are not aware were the tea leaves, sugar and milk etc are kept," her Dadi ji voiced her thoughts.

"By the look on your face something happened to you. Let us go downstairs and talk about it before we call the others to come down for tea," her Dada ji said with a concerned expression on his face.

"Ok, Give me two minutes to make myself presentable. You please proceed slowly, I will join you."

Saying this Tania sent her paternal grandparents downstairs while she went to the washroom to tidy up. She looked in the mirror and found that she did look terrible. Her hair was as if she had been pulled through the bushes. She quickly washed her face and combed her hair then headed downstairs.

Her Dada ji and Dadi ji were standing in the library and again were looking at her books, the ones on Past Life Regression.

"I'll just put the kettle for boiling water to make tea and come back in a jiffy," she told them as she rushed into the kitchen.

Within five minutes she was back.

"Come lets sit down and talk a little, said her Dada ji. We have 15-20 minutes."
Placing one arm around her shoulder and his other arm around her Dadi ji's shoulder, her Dada ji led them to the armchairs placed nearby.

They all sat down and then her Dada ji started to speak, looking at her with a piercing gaze.

"You had a dream?"
"It scared you?"
"It relates to your past life?"
" You have been having dreams like this in the past also?"

Tania wondered how they knew.

Her Dada ji seemed to have caught her thoughts and said, "You must be wondering how I know. Well, I used to get such dreams too."

"Now can you tell me what you saw."

Tania told him that since her childhood she had been seeing temples and forts in her dreams. They were not so vivid but after her parents passed away, these dreams were becoming more and more clear. She had been afraid, at first she thought that her mind was playing tricks on her as she was alone in the house.

Then when she started seeing these dreams in succession practically every night, she had gone to doctors, and they had told her that there was nothing wrong with her. She had even visited a psychiatrist.

The psychiatrist found her words amusing and told her that she was imaginative, otherwise there was nothing wrong with her. When she had tried to argue, the doctor told her that he was the doctor, and he said there was nothing wrong with her.

To understand why she was having recurring dreams, she had searched the net but could not find anything substantive. She had then bought a book from the nearby book store, regarding interpretation of dreams. She had learned that dreams were connected to the things you had done during the day with some random thoughts in the mind. All dreams could be interpreted.

But when the dreams became recurrent and the dreams were the same every time, then the dreams had a meaning maybe a warning, or a connection of a past life.

Thereafter, she started to search the net for past life and got to know about 'Past Life Regression'. She was impressed with the work done by Dr. Brain L Weiss on his patient and how he got to know about Past Life Regression via hypnotism. She also explained that she became so impressed that she went to the bookshop and found all his books to help her understand her condition. She had read all of them.

"OK, What happened this afternoon, you looked dazed?" her Dada ji inquired.

"I met my previous self from a previous life."

"My previous self came to me in a dream to warn me. She said my life was in danger."

"Her name is Sanya, and she said that she belonged to Kalibangan from the Indus Valley Civilization. She was a princess and was dressed in a Sari."

"She told me that my uncle in this life had been her enemy in her life also."

"He was planning to kill her and had probably got rid of her brother, her mother and her father also."

"To convince me she told me what all the grew and traded with other cities as well as abroad especially Mesopotamia and Egypt.Their cities flourished, and they had a high standard of living."

"They knew how to till the soil, to grow crops, harvest the crops. The cotton they grew was made into cloth. Another work was making beads. They made utensils on the potters wheel."

"They made metallic pots and pans, huge jars to store cereals. They also made weapons. These things were also traded by transporting them via bullock carts to the cities near the coast."

"They made stealite seals which depict a single animal like a unicorn, bull, elephant, rhinoceros etc. Some seals depict trees, semi-human, and human figurine. Some of these seals contain the image of a ship or mother earth or the ruler of the animals. These seals were used for trade."

"I asked her how she knew that my uncle and her uncle were the same?"

"Sanya told me that while she was looking for me, she had entered Igor Uncle's room by mistake and saw him. He looked the same as her uncle. He possessed the same calculating mean face."

Tania is an only child born to parents of Russian and Indian origin. She has lived her entire life in Russia. After the demise of her parents in a car accident, she is left all alone in a huge house. Her paternal and maternal grandparents want to take her into their fold and plan to come to Moscow to convince her to join them in India or Ukraine. Since her childhood, she had been having these recurring dreams in which she sees herself visiting certain temples and forts. These dreams feel so real. The doctors she visits in Moscow are not able to figure out what is wrong with her. On the contrary, they tell her that she has a vivid imagination. Tania decides to search for a reply herself and reads a book on dreams as well as a few volumes on 'Past Life Regression'. 


The day her relatives arrive from India and Ukraine, she, in her dream, travels to India and meets her past self. Tania's past self had another name. Her name was Sanya and she had lived centuries ago as a princess of Kalibangan during the Indus Valley Civilisation. Sanya tells Tania of a plot to kill her in the present life. A plot had been hatched in her past life too. At that time her brother, mother and father had been murdered.

Folks, this is not a Fantasy Romance novel. Unfortunately, the genre for female lead novels gives the term Fantasy Romance only. There is no choice.  Maybe I will add a Romance angle at the end.

"I might have an idea.." as excited and hopeful both Rima and Eren were to Henry's words, they both didn't see how could he possibly get them out of this situation, it felt like a thirsty person lost in the sea, he can see water but can't drink from it, same to them, they found the center, they found the gate, but they did not find an entry, it was something they could not understand, a situation they were not prepared for, thus they felt really hopeless until the human king said he might have a solution, they both waited for him nervously to speak but instead he remained silently thinking for a while before opening his mouth again... 
"I must ask you first not to get your hopes so high, cause it is not sure after all, but those designs on the rock, i've seen them before..."
"Now that you have mentioned it, i've seen them too..." Eren replied, leaving Rima dumbfounded for these two revelation, was she the only one who is not hearing any bells or what? 
"You two care to explain? "
"The holy tower?" Henry asked Eren but the later shook his head only to receive a perplexed frown from Henry
"I saw them in one of.... the Hybrid girl's dreams" Eren hated to call her that, and hated that she was referred to as that, but the combination of letters making her name was torture for him to speak, inside him, he would repeat her name over and over again but once it tried to leave his mouth it turns to a bile of thornes making his voice bleeding....
"What did you see?" Rima asked, if these two forgot it, she is trapped in an island that is smaller than the house they are in now... 
"it was when i tried to enter her dreams to push her divine blood out, once the power was out her dream lit up with these symbols, it felt as if it was pushing my magic away, blocking it before it simply burned my hand..."
"So you mean to say, these symbols, are a barrier?" asked Rima worried... 
"Yes, and i would advise you against using dark magic against them... you will burn in an instant...."
"What do we do then?" And now she was terrified... 
"Now you listen to me " and they both turned their attention to Henry..
