Andrew still woke up late in the middle of the night, worked up with some paper works. He made mental note to himself, for not becoming a CEO someday. The job made him stressed out and to made it worse, he still hasn't found Jonathan. But he got a plan how to find him. 
Through half paper works, he heard some noise he suspicious. It's been three days Andrew heard this noises on the same time, around eleven or twelve o'clock in the night but he always shrugged it off. He had plan this to not got to sleep just yet just to confirmed his doubt. He got up from his bed then tip toe-ing to Jonathan's study room. He was quite sure it was not Jonathan. The man was gone. He couldn't surely just back to his house like that. 
As he arrived in front of the door, Andrew took a peak from slight opened door. His suspicious was true all along. There's some stranger who tried to rummage Jonathan's desk. The stranger was big enough. From his posture, he could only guess one he already knew. Andrew went inside without the stranger realized then switch on the light. The stranger turned his body slowly with face pale.
"I know it was you." Andrew crossed his arms on his chest, "I just don't have proof yet all this time. What are you doing George?"
The loyal driver gulped hard. He knew he was in trouble. He hesitant to told Andrew the truth. On one side he was worked for Jonathan, but on the other hand he was best friend with Andrew for a long time.
Andrew arched his eyebrow, "Well, George?"
George cleared his throat, "Um, well... It's not what you think, Andrew."
"Where's Jonathan?" Andrew asked. 
The loyal driver looked surprised, "What?"
Andrew sighed, "I know you, George. You wouldn't do anything to betray Jonathan and me. So I asked you again, where's Jonathan?"
Andrew watched George's shoulder slump. He knew he was got caught and defeated as well. 
"Mr. Xavier is in Liverpool." George breathed. "He bought a house there the moment he run away from here."
"Can you take me to him?"
"What? No!" The loyal driver shook his head, "My job will be done for, Andrew."
"George, please." The assistant plead to him, "I need him and he need come back to his sense. You don't have to worry about your job. I will make sure you're safe with me. But I need to see him."
George stood silence. He knew better than to trusted Andrew was the best thing he had. He was done with going back behind him. He worried too about his boss as he had been through worse the moment Siara stepped out from his life. 
"Okay, I will take you to him."
"Good. I want it now. Wait for me in the car, there's something I need to bring with me."
George nodded his head then went out to the car. Andrew stride back to his bedroom and rummaged his drawer. He took out an envelope. He could only hope his plan to made Jonathan come back to his normal self would be succeed.

Almost three hours ride from Manchester to Liverpool, Andrew learned all he needed to know from George. Jonathan was devastated. Not only he lost the baby, his flesh and blood but his love once again. It was broken him. Through drunken state, he always told George repeatedly how he felt sorry for. By kept his secret about his status, he lost everything. George tried soothed him, remind him everything's going to be okay, but Jonathan refused to believe that. He lost his love once to Anna, her ex-wife. Now it was happened all over again. But twice hurt because there was his baby along with it. 
They came to a stopped at some luxurious resident. It was Victorian model with two stories level. Andrew knew how much Jonathan love Victorian things. Both Andrew and George stepped out from the car then rush to the front door. Andrew pushed the bell button. He heard some steps walked to him. The door revealed a face he known so well. 
"Mr. Grey??"
He nodded, "Loretta."
He could saw the maid was uncomfortable because she was busted by him. 
"No, it's okay." Andrew assured her, "George already told me everything."
She felt relieved wash over her, "I-I'm sorry, Mr. Grey, I didn't mean to betrayed and lied to you."
"It's fine, Loretta." He smiled, "Where is he?"
Loretta stepped aside so Andrew could walk in. "He's in his room sir."
"Lead the way please."
The two men followed Loretta to upstairs. As they arrived the front door, Loretta opened it. Andrew saw Jonathan through the dark room, only with light from the moon. His face and body faced the big white window. Jonathan held a bottle of alcohol with his right hand. He chugged it to his mouth without glass. The man was surely wasted. 
Andrew stepped inside. Reek of alcohol attacked his nostril. He began to wonders how much alcohol did he spend through this whole six months?
"George." Jonathan called with slurry voice, "Did you get what I wanted?"
Silence. 
Jonathan sighed, "Is it you Loretta?"
Silence. 
"Who's-"
"Jonathan." Andrew called with stern voice. 
Jonathan doesn't answer immediately then he sighed again, "I've should have known."
"If you are, then why still doing it?" Andrew asked incredulously.
"Just... Go home, Andrew." Jonathan ordered. 
"No," He growled, "You need to come home, Jonathan. The company-"
Jonathan laughed darkly, "You can take the fucking company, Andrew. I don't care. "
Andrew tried to be patient. He was only an inch away from put his fist into Jonathan's face. The man needs to woke up right now. He strode forward until he was in front of his boss. He no longer recognized Jonathan. His face looked swollen and tired. His eyes were red and puffy, clearly he was cried all this time. He no longer held passion and live towards his eyes. It was completely died. This was different from how his ex-wife betrayed him. Andrew could see it. Jonathan really loves Siara.
"Do you really have to do this?" Andrew asked. 
Jonathan sighed, "Don't, Andrew, I don't need you to patronized me."
"You're a coward, you know that?"
Anger filled Jonathan. 
"Don't you fucking dare said that to me!" He roared, "I'm not a coward and you don't understand!"
"You were hurt, I get it." Andrew pinched the bridge of his nose, "But what about Siara?" 
"She's fucking left me, Andrew." Jonathan replied with stern voice. 
"The go get her dammit!" Andrew shouted, "You love her, didn't you? Then chase her till the end of the world!"
"She doesn't love me. So what's the point to chase her?" 
"You're afraid." Andrew stated, "You're fucking afraid and coward to get hurt!"
"I'm an asshole. Might as well died-"
Jonathan doesn't continue his words as Andrew's fist was met with Jonathan's stubble jaw. Loretta gasped while George winced a bit. They both know their boss needs a wakeup call, and only Andrew who could understand him right now. Jonathan dropped to the wooden floor. He felt stingy taste in his mouth. He knew it was blood. He groaned in pain but doesn't counter back. Both his body and mind was too tired to do so. 
These six months has been hell for Jonathan.
When he confirmed Siara has been released from hospital and went back to Jakarta, thanks to his traitor assistant, he didn't chase her. He thought it was for the best even though it was hurt as hell. She slipped away from his grasp. He tempted to hire private investigator just so he could know how Siara's life. But his broken heart clouded his choice to do so. He thought he want nothing to do with her. He thought he could survive. Well, he did survive with alcohol as his best friend. But it only numbed his pain, not chase them away. There's still constant nightmare that haunt his sleep about her. So, there's no an option whether if he should really sleep or not. The hurt was still there.
"I always wanted to do that since I know you never told her the truth." Andrew voice out, "Well, if you didn't care anymore and wish for to die, then this thing..." He took out an envelope from his pocket coat, "...wouldn't be a problem to you."
Andrew dropped the envelope to the floor. He stepped outside from Jonathan's bedroom. From corner of his eyes, Jonathan looked to the envelope. There's a photo of Siara and a man with loving looked between them as a cover of the envelope. He got up to sit position. He leaned his back to his bed. Jonathan picked up the envelope and scanned it. 
His eyes were shocked as his mind was in rage by the sentence he read in the envelope. 
The wedding of Siara and Julian...

Siara just lost her love, simply because the guy was a jerk.

Mending her heart is her first priority. Embarking from Jakarta to Bali, she expect her heart would heal. And she thinks it's getting better when she thought to celebrate her birthday in Paradise city. But one thing she would never guessed is meeting a man like Jonathan. She knew deep down, whatever happen between them, is only for one time thing. But still, she embrace it.

But is it truly one time thing?
Is it only lust?
Or is it turned out to be love?
Only time will tell~



The rest of the shift I simply pretended nothing happened. Everyone else forgot the details, either because I made them or because they simply didn't care. I found all the best reasons not to look into the stranger's corner. At the end of the shift, it was just me and Mark. It was time to close the pub. I looked towards the corner - the stranger was gone. 

Had I imagined him? I doubted it - I never imagine things. I see things as they are, even if others can't. 

We cleaned up bits and pieces, counted the money and closed the pub. 

I normally walked with Mark from the pub. He goes uphill, while I take the dark alleyways, the shortest way to Lee-Ann's house. This time, I said good night to Mark and decided to simply follow the light pathway around the train station. 

I was a bit tired of shadows and strangers lurking in corners. It was nice to have a little light in the darkness for a change, no matter how artificial it was. The street was quiet, with an odd car passing by. There was just one person on the street a couple metres in front of me. Suddenly he stepped out into the light from the streetlamp. It was the guy from the pub. 

"Bozena, wait." He started to approach, trying to stop me. 

"My name is Jane," I said. I was both surprised and angry he knew my name, I mean my Czech name, not the one I used nowadays. I kept walking towards him intent on simply ignoring him. People ignore things so they don't exist. Maybe if I made enough effort it would work for me too. I focused on one step a time but I knew he was still standing there. 

"OK, whatever. I just want to talk. Can we just talk? It's not like I will try to kill you or anything." He was saying it with so much urgency, that I started to laugh. I mean, what are the odd chances that you get assaulted by a handsome stranger? And honestly, what would be his chances to actually succeed? 

Suddenly I felt the stillness from the park. 

"Enough is enough," said a cold voice behind me. Now I was sandwiched between the handsome stranger and the cold voice. Brilliant. I was so stupid. 

"Jake, you are clearly losing your touch with ladies." The cold voice sounded amused now. A man stepped out of the background so I could see him better, it almost felt a shadow materialised next to me. Now instead of one creepy guy, there were too. I was not sure if they were trying to intimidate me, looking like vultures circling around their dinner. 

"What's going on? What do you want? I am really not in the mood for your stupid games." I started to be irritated. Whatever was they wanted to talk about, I was pretty sure I was not interested. At all. 

"Please, excuse my son. He clearly forgot his manners." Son? They both looked about the same age somewhere between the late twenties and early thirties. They were the same height, both handsome under the right type of light, but that was about it. The only other thing was a certain coldness about them. 

"I did offer a drink earlier," Jake said, clearly uncomfortable being patronised. Suddenly he looked a couple of years younger, cute, like a little puppy. 

As if the other guy could read my mind: "Jacob," Jacob went silent. 

"Bo- Jane." He corrected himself and smiled at me. "Could we have a little chat?" 

"You know what, whatever-is-your-name", I started. 

"Jonathan", he offered, clearly thinking this was a start of some conversation he intended to have with me. 

"OK, Jonathan. No, I don't think we have anything to talk about. Not with you, not with Jake, or whatever is his name." 

I started to walk past them. I was not going to be bullied. From the corner of my eye, I could see Jonathan seemed to be too surprised to do anything else than staring at me. I almost passed them both. 

"It is about a spell. Well, a curse rather." Jake tried to stop me. As he was trying to catch my hand, I touched Jonathan's hand instead. His skin was cold. Suddenly I realised what was wrong with him. With them. Jonathan was a vampire. 

I stopped. Vampires are wrong. They are dead but alive. They steal other's' energy to keep on going. Frankly, I can't stand them. Not that I met too many in my very short life. Then, they usually didn't hang around my family for obvious reasons. 

"Let me go," I said and mean it. I started to walk away again, towards a busier road. 

"No, wait." They said, trying to corner me so I would not be able to walk away. 

I turned around. "LET ME GO" I repeated. I could feel the energy flowing through me, commanding them with my voice. They were surprised. They didn't expect me. They came to see a witch, but they didn't expect to find one. 

They didn't move. 

"LET ME GO. " The wind started to rise, picking up the dust from the road. That was my moment, my chance to run. I run away home, not stopping till I closed the doors behind me. 

Only then I realised what I had done.

Jane thought she had it all figured out. After 3 years in the UK, she is now studying accounting, has friends, a boyfriend and her host family became her own. Then one day she is approached by a vampire to help him with his problem and she slips.

Well, she has to figure out now how not to be a witch. Or at least how to be one on her own terms.

At least ten minutes already passed by, and not a single person in the truck said a word. Sure enough, the atmosphere inside the cabin was getting heavier, and so did the three people at the back. Once in a while, I took a peek at the rearview mirror, and saw them standing still, each with a very tense look on their face. The strange thing was, it was almost as if they were also watching us very carefully.
Not long after that, Jonathan sped up the truck for quite some time to the speed of 160 km/h, and he suddenly stopped the truck with a handbrake. All the three people behind were obviously not aware of Jonathan's action, as they all hit the rear window right after he pulled the brake. Luckily, they did not seem to be seriously injured because of the impact.
Both me and Ryan watched him confusedly, but he just stared the road ahead sharply and then ordered us to get out from the truck.
"You two," he said with a low voice, "get out."
"What? But-" replied Ryan confused.
"Trust… me…" cut Jonathan as he looked to Ryan and then to me.
I had no idea why he told us to get out from the truck, but I had a gut feeling that Jonathan was sensing a near threat, so I pulled Ryan's arm to get out from the truck together with me.
Right after both of us went out the truck and closed the door, Jonathan also did the same.
"Hey, you guys okay?" asked Jonathan to the three people on the back of the truck. "I hope you guys did not get hurt much from the impact just now."
"What the hell were you thinking?!" the young man from the three people yelled.
"I guess I was kind of dizzy from driving the long road..." Jonathan replied with a couple of gentle knock on the right door.
And then, it made me realized that the knocks were the signal he mentioned earlier. I pulled Ryan slowly, and it only took a brief moment for him to realize what was going on. He slowly began to crawl down towards the front of the truck while bringing Jonathan's rifle on both of his hands.
"I have an idea..." Ryan said quietly as he started to crawl, "but you will have to pretend like you do not know anything at all about it."
I only nod in response to his move, as he continued to crawl again.
As I watched Ryan briefly, I felt a brief dazzling metallic shine in my right eye. At first I tried to ignore it as I assumed that it was only the reaction of my exhausted eyes. However, when I tried to look at the direction of the three strangers, I felt the same shine again and for a moment, I realized that it was most likely came from a booby trap set on the road, possibly caltrops or nail booby traps.  It was also at that moment that I became aware of what Jonathan was doing.
Jonathan must have experienced the same thing when he was driving the truck, on a high speed, and pulled the handbrake immediately right after he felt the dazzling shine. Hence, he told us to get out of the truck, and to trust him that something was not right. I was impressed by his vision ability, but then again he was an officer of the Air Force.
Judging by how far it had gone, Jonathan was probably assuming that the three strangers were the ones who set up the trap, and was trying to force other vehicles to run through the traps so that they could rob everyone inside the unlucky vehicles.
By the time I had grasped completely what was going on, the situation between Jonathan and the three strangers was already tense, as the young male stranger kept on yelling to Jonathan, who replied him calmly.
"You bled both me and my mom's nose, and you will not even apologize?!" yelled the young stranger as he held his nose.
"Well… I thought you would understand that I was exhausted as I have traveled so far up until this point." replied Jonathan calmly.
"You-" the young stranger was about to say something, but Jonathan immediately cut his sentence,
"In that case, do you want to replace me as the driver instead? We are willing to switch places if you guys want to…" Jonathan said right after he cut off the young stranger's sentence.
"Yeah well news flash, big guy! I cannot drive truck! None of us can!" the young stranger yelled to him, again, as if he was triggered by what Jonathan had just said.
"Yeah, sure you can." replied Jonathan. "Otherwise, you guys would not be able to position those three vehicles in such a neat line."
All of the three strangers gave a surprised expression from what Jonathan said to them.
"Or rather is it because you guys also expect to face another impact on the road up ahead?" he continued, tauntingly.
'That's the signal.' I thought to myself. I was also very sure that Ryan clearly heard what Jonathan just said.
"Alright," the young stranger responded, holding up his handgun towards Jonathan, "stay away from the truck!" he continued, yelling.
One other stranger, the middle-aged woman also pointed her handgun towards me. The other stranger, the young woman pulled out a pocket knife from her pocket and leaned closer slowly towards Jonathan.
"Heh, at least we do not have to use that last set of caltrops ahead." scoffed the young male stranger.
"No. You will not." replied Jonathan. "Because it looks like you are going to face the impact right here."
Right after he said the word, I immediately grabbed the door handle and opened it fast. The middle-aged woman shot her handgun continuously, but it did not hit me as the door shielded me from the fired rounds.
The young couple were distracted by our actions, and Jonathan responded by moving forward very quickly, grabbing the young woman's hand hard, thus forcing her to drop her folding knife to the ground. The young male stranger pointed his handgun towards Jonathan, trying to force Jonathan to let the young woman go.
"Freeze! Let her go!" yelled the young stranger.
For a moment, I was confused on how to help Jonathan as I too was being held by the middle-aged woman. I also sensed her nearing me slowly as she stopped firing. It was at this time that I was wondering where Ryan had gone to because he was not in front of the truck.
Suddenly, the young male stranger got himself grabbed by someone on one of his leg from below the truck, dropping his body to the ground with a clattering sound. It seemed that he also dropped his handgun when he was falling as Jonathan immediately followed by pushing the young woman back which made her fall to the ground, took up the folding knife and held it against the young male stranger. Ryan than emerged from below the truck, revealing that it was him who grabbed the young stranger's leg. This action made the middle-aged woman distracted briefly, and I used that opening for me to fend her off from me.
I got off from in front of the door, and rushed to her direction as she managed to fire a round. Luckily it did not hit me as I already held her handgun away from me, but my left ear was ringing as the round was fired close to my left ear. It did not take me long to snatch the handgun away from her hands, and thus freeing me off from my nearby threat. I decided not to point the handgun towards her, as I was sure that she would not be of any threat without her weapon.
I took a brief look at the handgun, which was different from my handgun that was broken by the tall slender creature back in the sewers. The broken handgun in the sewers was a Berretta M92F, and the current handgun in my hand was a Heckler & Koch USP. Although of different models, the two shared the same bullet capacity of 15 rounds.
The middle-aged woman began to walk slowly towards the young couple while also looking at me. As she finally gathered together with the young couple, I noticed that the young man's handgun which was now held by Ryan, was also the same as the one in my hand.
"Where did you guys find this handgun?" I asked, curiously.
None of them seemed to be willing to answer, as none of them were looking straight at me. Jonathan folded his hands, and Ryan holsters the handgun inside his pants pocket with his left hand.
"This handgun is not the standard issue sidearm for any of the official military branches, nor it is for the Chicago Police Department." I said, trying to make them understand. "So, I will ask you all again. Where did you guys find this gun?"
"A house with a basement." The young woman replied.
All three of us – me, Jonathan, and Ryan looked at her direction. I leaned towards her to ask her other questions.
"Okay. Where is this house with a basement?" I asked her.
"We do not remember the exact location, but the house complex is right in front of a small Italian beef sandwich restaurant." She replied.
"Is it the one near the Chicago Fire Department?" Jonathan responded.
"Yes. And there is also a Catholic Church not far from the fire department." The young woman responded. "But there was nothing left there. If you think that you may find something for self-defense, then forget it. We barely found anything there either when we struggled to find any weapons there and in the police department. Even worse, survivors kill each other to survive" she continued.
"Huh… why am I not surprised about it…" Jonathan smirked.
Suddenly, the young man made a sudden move towards Ryan, snatching the handgun from him and pointed his gun toward us. The middle-aged woman followed by taking the handgun away from my hand, and pointed it towards me.
"Okay. Enough of the small talk, we are taking the truck, now!" yelled the young man.
"Hey, cannot we just… let them go, this time?" pleaded the young woman.
The young man, responded by firing his handgun straight towards her chest twice, dropping her to the ground.
"Wha-?! How could you?!" surprised Ryan.
"When I said enough, it means enough." said the young man as he almost reached the truck door handle. "Or would you rather also fall, like how you made me did earlier?!" he continued.
As the conversation had just finished, I felt a sudden quake on the ground, and then a bright purple light beam stroke down from the dark sky directly towards the truck, blowing it up instantly together with the young man and the middle-aged woman, and sending us three flying back.
All I heard as I tried my best to get back on my feet was nothing but intense ringing on my ears. I could see Ryan trying to reach the young woman, only to realize that she was already lifeless.
Fortunately, it did not take long for my hearing to come to.
"So much for the hold ups…" sigh Jonathan who was already standing behind Ryan, who was mourning for the young woman.
I was expecting that some kind of a large flying object to be present above us, but it was too hard to make sure through the darkness that enveloped the road. As such, I believed that the best move was to exit the highway and to proceed to Chicago Fire Department.
"No kidding! We have to get off from the highway, now!" I shouted, as both of them followed me entering a nearby street which was about 300 feet away from us.

Jessica grinned accepting the compliment, "looks like I'm getting a little bit drunk to see a devil like you here."
"You call me a devil? What a sweet calling, I like it."
The more the man spoke the clearer Jessica recognized him.
 "Damn it! Is that you, David?"
 Jessica didn't want to be so sure it was him. The devil that shows up on Rossell's show and sends Jessica black roses? 
I don't know, Jessica wished she was just hallucinating from drinking too much wine.
 This is a Florence event, invitations are limited and security is strictly guarded. There's no way David can get in. Yes, unless the man in front of her is really that devil one. Jessica knew that the man could do many things and it was not impossible to appear before her today.
 Jessica chuckled, still under the influence of the wine making her head spin. She start to tremble if the man in front of her was really one.
"You show up at a bad time. I don't really want to see you here. Go!" Jessica tried to drive the man away. 
Go! Don't scare her.
 "Someone will be leaving soon but it can't be me."
 Hearing the man speak gave Jessica goosebumps. Jessica may have been a little scared of this guy, but she was more afraid of the fact that the devil named David knew someone was leaving.
They talk about Hans. The man would be leaving soon.
 "Then make him stay longer for me." Jessica knew this was a bad idea, but what if Hans found out that this devil was back? Hans probably wouldn't leave, right? 
 If Hans really has genuine feelings for her, Jessica is sure Hans is willing to stay behind to protect her from this devil one. 
Stupid woman! Jessica should have told Hans right away that she saw David at the Rossell event yesterday.
 What a fool! Why is she only thinking about this right now? For now, Jessica isn't even sure where Hans is and whether he will show up to protect her from the devil. "You! Wait here until Hans sees you."
David widened his smile, Jessica's request to stay there pleased him. There is nothing better than being with the person you like right.
 For a few moments, Jessica looked at the figure she called the devil. Focus on him. Ready to protect herself when the man made a sudden move to reach her or if the devil ran escaping himself - that one is better. 
However, a series of drowsiness began to strike. Jessica sure just closed her eyes for a moment and when she opened her eyes, the man was not in front of her anymore.
David is not there anymore.
Was that just a hallucination? But why does their conversation feel so real? The wine bottle was also far ahead of her, right where David had put it last.
 Jessica blinked again and the man appeared again. No, it's not the devil. Jessica blinked again to see more clearly it was just Jonathan. Did she see wrong?
 "Have you been sitting there all this time?"
 "Um, yes," Jonathan answered Jessica.
"Really? Don't you dare to deceive me, it's not a good deed." 
"How much did you drink ?" Jonathan immediately stepped forward to hold Jessica before the woman staggered and fell.
 "Where's Hans? Have you found him?"
 "Yes! No! He called me, he said he was going to take Wanda away."
 "Where is he going? Wanda doesn't have a house here. Did Hans take her to the airport?"
 Jonathan hesitated a little before answering. "Yes, Hans took Wanda to the airport."
 "Tch, that damn woman. Hans will regret leaving me like this." Jessica almost fell again while cursing Hans or Wanda. Fortunately, Jonathan still holds her.
 Jessica thought about it, just wait until Jessica realized (tomorrow). She would make sure Hans stayed by her side. Jonatan finally drove Jessica home. A not-so-good ending for Jessica. Even though she had hoped to spend the night with Hans.

 "You dare to appear again ?!" Hans slammed the devil into a corner of the room. They were still in the convention building, in one of the small equipment rooms.
 When Hans and Jonathan returned to the table, they saw a stranger sitting in front of Jessica who seemed drunk. Not a real stranger because Hans knew very well who that man was. So Hans immediately dragged the man away and asked Jonathan to secure Jessica.
 "Your greeting was unfriendly. You should have said you missed me or something."
 "Shit!" Hans stepped forward about to give his punch but the devil was able to hold it back. "What did you do to Jessica just now?"
 "I just greeted her, but she's already drunk on wine. She is probably won't remember that she is seen me."
 That's pretty good, Hans hoped the devil would tell the truth. Jessica is better not to know that a devil was sitting in front of her tonight. The appearance of the devil in front of Jessica scared Hans to death. 
How long has the man been sitting in front of Jessica? Was he the one who got Jessica drunk? What would he have done if Hans didn't come back in time?
David is not called to be the devil without a reason.
 "You're leaving soon Hans, just think about your fake wedding!"
 "YOU!" 
That wedding was fake!
Has the devil knows about it? That Hans's marriage was actually fake? Then what about the woman Hans met in Singapore last week? This devil must also know who that woman is.
Ah, Hans remembers it now. The figure he saw in Changi airport at that time, he didn't see it wrong. The devil must have caught him ever since. No wonder Hans felt that someone was watching him.
 David laughed mockingly at Hans. "Using someone else's marriage to cheat on Jessica is not a good deed. You know, Jessica is easily disappointed. She likes to hold on to brains and hard to apologize."
 "I did a good deed for her. You know nothing." Hans doesn't have any good defenses. Such deception is clearly not a good deed, what was Hans doing actually?

"Handsome, you are mine!"

The big lady raised her hand to trace the curve of her handsome secretary's jaw.

Having previously refrained from eating him. This time Jessica will not let go of this handsome secretary. Not a second time.

The Prophetess is a Wise Woman.  She Serves no earthly being - only our GOD.

There is Freedom in conversation with her but it comes with a price : the Understanding that The Visions she Shares are not Authored into permanence.  They are merely pattern-based and can be altered through the proper use of our own personalized GOD-Given Free Will.

This is where things get tricky.  Should we Choose to Accept our Fates, our Patterned Visions will be Engraved into The Book of Life Forevermore.  BUT, should we Decide to heed her Wisdom - The TRUE Path will be Illuminated as we continue Forward.

"Come in and sit."  The Prophetess Guided me towards an empty room containing a single wood chair.

"You must stay here."  She told Jonathan as she gently closed the door, leaving him standing dumbfounded alone outside her door.

"Prophetess.." I began.

"You are late." She interrupted.

"Late?  I have arrived per our scheduled agreed upon Time."  I responded, confused.

"Yes, but you are two weeks behind."

I sat in expectant Silence.

"What do you have to say for yourself?"  The Prophetess asked.

"I do not Understand your accusations."  I calmly replied.

"You have ignored the Signs so vehemently that GOD had no other option but to slap you across the face with that Dream."

Stunned into Silence once more, I stared blankly into her eyes.

"Good.  You are Ready.  Let us Go Forth."

I Breathed a Deep sigh of Relief and closed my eyes.

"QUEEN.  You are in grave danger.  The enemy has forced entry into your Home.  You must Decide how to proceed without The Council.  This you already Know.  There is a Stranger in your midst.  He is knocking at the door.  Open it.  He is your only Hope.  Without him your Queendom will surely fall.  Logic will not win this war.  There will be Moments that require more.  The Choice is yours."

Silence. 

"I am weary of this Stranger... he was pained and outraged in our first encounter, yet confident and sensual when we spoke earlier today.  I do not Understand."

"Treat him as you would a Private Guest.  No one must Know.  Your own Private Quarters might I suggest?"

"But how do you..."

"Visions.  Do not be concerned.  No one else will Know that these Quarters exist outside of this Home."

"Thank you, but this does not Answer my question regarding our first interaction.  He says he Knows me, yet I have not met this man prior.  And furthermore, I am uncertain as to how I have upset him."

"These are Questions only you can Answer.  Now you must Go.  Time is not on your side."

The Prophetess rose quickly and hurried me towards the door.  But before she opened it, she turned to me and said, "Oh.  And one more thing : Tell no one for a Sacrifice must be made.  Otherwise you will not succeed.  GOD Speed."

And then I Found myself equally as shocked standing outside right next to Jonathan.

He smiled.  "Good news, my QUEEN?"

"Hardly."

I never knew my Life was in danger until I met him..

His intoxicating smile, his delicious aroma, his cunning web of lies and deceit were enough to make your head spin. But there was something Deeper that I Found within. Something dark and delicate that drew me in.

His confidence so wildly uncanny. I couldn't quite place it. The mystique had me reeling. And then I saw him. The Beautiful Monster he became.

The wind felt good in his hair and he closed his eyes simply enjoying the sensations of the air whipping his hair in every direction. The sun was warm against his face and he thought it'd been too long a time that he had made the sun's acquaintanceship. They still had a few hours' drive before arriving at their destination, and Jonathan hoped that this impromptu vacation away would be just what they both needed.

He'd made a promise to himself that he'd keep his feelings away from the situation. He would be Mayson's rock, his pillar of strength. He would hold him when he needed it, ground him when his mind began to take over logic. He swore he'd keep himself in check in case Mayson fell apart.

Jonathan glanced over to his right and smiled. Mayson was sound asleep, his face turned toward him, mouth slightly open as he breathed. A wave of melancholy washed through him, however, when they came to a stoplight in a pass-through town on their way to their destination. Not even in sleep can you fully relax. He resisted the urge to reach out and trace his fingers softly down his face. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes, opened them, and left the town behind.

Some hours later Jonathan pulled into a Wendy's off the freeway, his hunger no longer affording him the ability to ignore it. Mayson still slept next to him, having moved very little. He hated to wake him up.

"Mayson, love," he whispered gently so as to not scare him. "Mayson, wake up, love."

"Huh?" Mayson startled awake and quickly looked around. He smiled when his gaze landed on Jonathan. The first real smile Jonathan can remember in too long.

"Hi." 

Jonathan smiled back, his heart melting at that smile. One day you won't wake up scared, baby, he thought before saying aloud,

"I'm starving. Want something?"

"Can I come in with you?" He asked, not being able to keep the panic from his voice at the thought of being alone.

"It would be my pleasure, Mayson, to always have you at my side," he answered quietly before exiting the car.

Mayson blushed as he watched Jonathan come around to his side and open the door for him. Mayson smiled again as he reached for Jonathan's outstretched hand. 

They talked quietly while they ate, Jonathan making it his personal goal to make that smile appear as often as possible. Jonathan checked his watch as they exited the fast-food franchise. 

"It's almost three. We're making-"

"Hey!" 

Jonathan turned around at the front of his 2000 Trans Am, making sure Mayson was behind him. He felt the tingling of threat in that voice.

Mayson jumped at the tone in the stranger's voice, instantly taking refuge behind Jonathan. Oh, god, he's found me. He found me and he came after me like he always said.

"Can I help you?" Jonathan asked as his whole body tightened.

"Yeah, who the fuck do you think you are?"

Jonathan frowned in confusion. He had no idea to whom this man was.

"I think you must be mistaking me for someone else."

"I don't give a fuck who you are if you're doing that to him, we have a problem," the man spat his words angrily. Jonathan slightly turned his head, his ears perking at Mayson's whimper.

"You don't know what you're talking about. I suggest you turn around and go back inside."

"Or what," the stranger challenged. "You gonna beat me like you've beaten him?"

Mayson whimpered again behind him. "Jonny, please, can we go?" Mayson whispered as he peaked around Jonathan's shoulder. 

"You don't know what you're talking about, Mister. Just walk away."

Mayson was beginning to panic the longer they stood there entangled in this confrontation. He felt his pulse rate accelerate as the man began stepping toward them. Jonathan took two steps forward keeping distance between this stranger and Mayson. The man was in an outrage as he prepared to grapple with an unknown enemy.

In much the same move performed on Lucius, Jonathan disabled the man and he found himself face down on the asphalt before he knew what had happened.

"Now listen here," Jonathan began digging his knee into the man's spine while trapping his arm behind his back.

"I've never laid a finger on him. I am the one that took him away from that cock sucking son-of-a-bitch, so maybe you shouldn't pick fights with people you know nothing about, on subjects you know nothing about. Let this be a lesson."

"Jonathan, stop, please, just let him go. Please, Jonny, let's just go."

Mayson's voice cut through the ire that pulsated within his veins. He looked up at Mayson, the look in his eyes causing him to let go of the stranger's wrists, which were bent at awkward angles, and stood up. 

He kept his eyes on Mayson, who was a whiter shade of pale, his eyes wide and shining. The stranger who accosted them stayed where he was until Jonathan stood by Mayson before he slowly got to his feet. He said nothing as he watched Jonathan run a soft knuckle down his tear-stained cheek. Mayson nodded in response to an unheard question before his eyes flicked over to him.

The stranger watched as Mayson smiled before looking his way. He said something the stranger couldn't hear before he made his way towards where he stood several feet away. Mayson leaned heavily on Jonathan, his forehead resting on his shoulder, before making his way slowly to the other man.

"Hi," Mayson said shyly with a smile. He glanced at the man's eyes before quickly looking away.

The man frowned. This isn't something he expected, though the frown faded as he answered him.

"Hi. Are you okay, kid?"

Mayson looked up and held his gaze long as he dared.

"I am now. Jonathan would never hurt me. He really did get me out. But..." he paused a moment unable to properly form the words he needed, "thank you for doing that for me. No one besides Jonathan in my whole life has ever...protected me...and now you. Thank you."

The man looked at the boy in front of him a moment, speculating on the truth of those words. He was saddened by the fact he knew the boy was telling him the truth.

"You're welcome," he said gently before looking over to Jonathan, who was still standing where Mayson left him, watching, in full mode to move if need be.

"I'm sorry. My son..." he sighed and looked away before looking back to Mayson.

"My son was beaten almost to death by an abusive boyfriend. The man left him paralyzed and...deeply scarred."

"What's your name?" 

"Alex. Alex Livingston."

"I'm sorry about your son. You're a good man. I...I really will be okay, though. I wanted to tell you that. And to tell you thank you for caring."

Alex smiled sadly, his eyes telling Mayson his thoughts were with his son. 

"I hope you really will be okay, son. What's your name?"

"Mayson Alexander."

Jonathan made himself stand still, fighting against every instinct to remain where he'd promised to stay. He had to, though. He couldn't break this promise. He had the sense to know that this was important to the man who owned his heart. Mayson asked him to trust him. And he did. He saw Mayson smile at the man before turning and making his way back to the car.

They made it to their destination just under four hours later. Mayson had been quiet and Jonathan left him to his thoughts. 

When they pulled onto the long driveway that leads to the private beach-side cabin, Jonathan looked over to Mayson and smiled. He'd fallen into a light slumber, his head propped up against the closed window. The fading sunlight showed through his hair, highlighting bits of gold that lie in natural highlights along the top of his scalp.

Jonathan put the car in park, the lack of movement causing Mayson's eyes to pull themselves open and take in his surroundings.

"Where are we?" He asked as he stretched the kinks from his back.

"South Carolina."

"South Carolina? How'd you know about this place?" Mayson looked around. The cabin was small but cozy. There was a freshly cut stack of firewood against the eastern side of the outer wall, a rather large chimney protruding from the roof, three windows Mayson could see from where they sat in the car, and off to the left of them was a private beach that looked out towards the coastline.

The wind was mild and cool and smelt of the sea. The sun was just sinking below the horizon, giving the eye an illusion of the water burning in hues of orange, blue, red, and pink. 

Mayson looked around in wide-eyed wonder at the nature that surrounded them. He loved nature. He always felt at home anywhere where he could immerse himself in Mother Nature. He smiled at Jonathan, his eyes alight with an innocent enthusiasm that made Jonathan's heart both soar and break. 

"It's beautiful here, Jonny. How'd you know about this place?"

Jonathan looked around. "It belonged to a friend of mine. When she died, she left it to me. We'd come spend weeks out here to get away from...everything...and never see another soul the whole time. It's a good place to heal." He smiled at him briefly. "Come on, beautiful, let's go inside."

Mayson smiled as a blush rose to his cheeks and exited the car slowly. Jonathan, who'd come to the other side, reached out his hand. Mayson smiled again, his blush brightening. He did not flinch, but instead accepted Jonathan's hand.

"You hungry?" Jonathan asked once he had put away their clothes and toiletries. Mayson lounged on the sofa, his body aching from being cooped up in the car for so long.

"Starving." 

"Good. You feeling okay?"

"Tired. Sore. Hungry." Mayson leaned his head back and closed his eyes, feeling himself sink further into the leather sofa.

"I'll go make something. You gonna be okay here or you wanna lie down in the bedroom?"

Mayson shook his head. "I'm good right here."

Jonathan chuckled to himself, enjoying the fact that Mayson was relaxed for now. 

"Okay, love. Holler if you need me."

Mayson opened his eyes and watched Jonathan turn and walk into the kitchen. 

"I'll always need you, Jonny. That's what scares me," he whispered to himself. "It's what's always scared me."
