A few years have passed since that fateful day. The new generation suddenly gained powers, be it controlling water or having a innate talent to do something. Nothing was impossible. This is a story of Blue, one of the first to do leave a mark in this power-stricken world. His ability, being a puppeteer.

The film trailer was finally released. If it were any other indie film, it wouldn't garner much attention. After all, most indie film productions didn't have the resources to widely promote their films unlike major production studios. 

This film, however, wasn't just any other indie film. It had LX Productions as its backer. Although the film couldn't be promoted through traditional means like on TV or radio commercials, the web was another matter. 

As soon as the trailer was released, it became top featured on video streaming websites. It also played as an online ad in all major websites. This kind of heavy promotion was something only major production companies could afford. It immediately caught people's attention.

The film was titled "Strong Yet Broken". It was based on a true story. A life story that was familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time.

It was familiar because it featured the story of Guan Jintao, the blind Paralympian gold-medalist swimmer who was the most famous disabled athlete in the country. His fame rivalled that of famous Olympian athletes because his inspiring life story was already adapted into movies, documentaries, and books. He was undoubtedly a legend in the country.

Given his fame and influence, why then was this new film an indie one?

The answer was simple. The film wasn't about Guan Jintao. It was about the unfamiliar life story of his mother.

It seemed that major production studios weren't interested in making this film because the main character was a broken woman. It was, in simple terms, a very dark story. 

Unlike the hopeful and triumphant adaptations of Guan Jintao's life story, this indie film about his mother heavily focused on the subject of dealing with depression after the death of a lover which morphed into postpartum depression that never really went away, eventually ending in suicide. It was the story of a woman desperately trying to stay strong for the sake of her disabled child when she was all broken inside from the death of her lover.

It was emotional, heavy, dark, and suffocating. An eerie sense of hopelessness and death permeated the story.

No major film production company wanted to make this kind of depressing film. Some of them expressed interest if more focus was given to Guan Jintao's character rather than on his mother, but doing so would change the essence of the story.

In the end, it could only be made into an indie film.

When people started watching the trailer, the reactions were mixed. Some were instantly drawn to it, while some were turned off by the dark tone. However, halfway through the trailer, their attentions were piqued once again.

An oddly familiar voice started singing familiar lyrics.

They finally realized what was going on.

The song was "Phantom of Your Love" by Iris Long!

It sounded so different from the original version. Only the lyrics were the same. The melody only retained a shadow of the original. Even Iris Long's voice sounded different—lower, deeper and more haunting.

"OMG! It's the mysterious film that Iris Long has been working on. Look at the credit. It says 'Original Music by Iris Long'!"

"I'm having chills. I think this new version of 'Phantom of Your Love' sounds even better than the original."

"Poster above, I disagree! I like the original version better. I don't like this new version at all! It sounds too dark. Thank goodness the trailer didn't play the entire song. I think I'm gonna have nightmares if I listen to the whole song. Ugh. I'm shuddering just thinking about it."

"Yeah! This new version is too dark! But based on the trailer, I think that it fits the film very well."

"Wow! It doesn't sound like Iris Long. The voice sounds more like the goddess of death. So dope!"

An hour later, JJ's record label made an official announcement.

"We are proud to announce that the new version of 'Phantom of Your Love' by Iris Long will be used as the official theme song of the upcoming independent film 'Strong Yet Broken', based on the riveting true life story of the late mother of Paralympian gold-medalist swimmer Guan Jintao. Iris single-handedly composed the entire film score. We are also excited to announce that we will be releasing the new version of 'Phantom of Your Love' together with the entire film score as a soundtrack album. It will be Iris Long's third official album with our record label. Please support the film and Iris Long's music. Thank you very much!"

JJ's record label also released an official sample audio of the song.

Iris and Bright Summit shared this post to their own followers. Because of this, "Strong Yet Broken" received even more attention. By the end of the day, the trailer became the number 1 trending video on the web. In extension, Iris' new version of "Phantom of Your Love" was also receiving a lot of attention.

When it was first announced that Iris Long was rearranging "Phantom of Your Love" to be more cinematic to make it suitable as a film's theme song, many fans made their own cinematic covers of the song. They even set up a betting pool online, competing against each other to see whose cover would be the most similar to Iris Long's version.

Now, however, after listening to the official audio sample, they unanimously agreed that nobody among them came even close to Iris' version. They didn't expect that she would make the already dark "Phantom of Your Love" even darker to the point that it sounded like music that came directly from the netherworld.

It sounded so eerie—the melody and most especially Iris' voice. Her vocals lacked the usual showmanship of high notes and modulation. This new version of "Phantom of Your Love" sounded like pure longing and darkness. It was beautiful to the point of being scary.

Those listening would feel their hair standing on end, like darkness was embracing and suffocating them, making their hearts tremble. The feeling was so unusual yet oddly thrilling at the same time. They couldn't wait to listen to the whole song. It was also making them want to watch the film.

Of course, the entire Black Stars were there to support their Boss Iris. With LX Productions' powerful promotions, the film was already making waves on the internet. But with the addition of the Black Stars and the buzz around Iris' new version of "Phantom of Your Love", an indie film managed to outshine other film trailers intended to become blockbusters by major production companies.

    "Today is Halloween is today and I am hoping you will all be scared by the end of this!" The few hundred foot tall giantess said this as she came to crash all our parties. Her hair was blond, her eyes were green and she had this devilish smile on her face. This female just proceed to go everywhere, crush everyone and eat as many people as she could. No one knew how this woman had appeared or why she choose to terrorize us. We did everything we could to stop her. We tried reasoning with her, offering her anything to make her stop and even surrendering to her. She would not listen and simply continued her rampage while talking about why we should be scared of her. We called for the police, the military and everyone we could think of to help. However, no one could put a dent in her as if she was some goddess. She could alter her size, teleport to wherever she wanted and could seem to do whatever else she wanted to do. This woman was just trying to toy with us as she killed and killed.


    The goddess gave away people's deepest secrets just for the fun of it and then proceeded to kill those same people in the ways they feared most. She tortured, and killed some more as the death count went from the thousands, all the way to the billions across the world. Once humanity was just about existent, she would bring everyone back to kill them all again slightly differently. She would once again show off her red hair and green eyes as she caused the destruction. No one knew how this omnipotent entity had appeared or why she choose to terrorize us. The woman would just torture us all, kill us and then bring us back to resume the torture once more. This seemed to go on for years, but it was somehow still the day of Halloween. The goddess kept on giving us punishments that ranged from making us scared of our own reflections to having us peel off our own skin. We just watched this violence as blood and flesh were ripped out, our internal organs were bitten into, and yet we could still function during all the pain. We were forced to attack each other, bite into our own hearts and murder our loved ones while being surrounded by laughter. I̼̮͍̲̹͆̓͊͛̅̌͘ţ͍̩̩͇̽́͂̍͌͂̚͞͝ was like we were under some sort of spell as we were forced to do this and when we tried to cry, we were forced to giggle instead. We were all terrified when we were in this hell that is still continuing to today.


    We are trapped in this other world while being tortured by this being of ours. I wish I could just kill myself, stay dead and be done from this torture. I know escape is meaningless, and the only way for this to end is for the goddess to just get bored and kill all of us. I truly wish for that to happen, but it is the goddess' decision and not mine. That being showed us these other worlds that were simply worlds like yours where she never came, and it was heaven compared to our own. She did this to make us feel even worse and it of course worked. She also showed us worlds far worse than ours without this entity even arriving, in order to guilt us and make us feel worse once again. She did all sorts of things and like I said before, more and more punishments are still going on. All kinds of torture involving death, blood, flesh, bones, organs, skin and many more still continue. Only I was allowed to now be absent from the punishment, so I could write this all done as I am doing now. The goddess has given me the special task as I watch everyone suffer and feel guilty for being left out. I think she told me the truth, but I am not sure what I know anymore.


    The point is that this writing is another kind of torture that she is showing to all of us. She is making me write this all done so she can send it to the mind of someone in another world, your world. You are probably reading this story on some site like Deviantart, Giantess World, Giantess City, A Sex Stories, FictionPress, Inkitt, Wattpad, Omnitopia, Quotev, Webnove, Eka's portal, SuperWomanMania, evilsupergirls or even someplace like Amazon. If this story will be put on other websites, it will be put there in a little while. The writer is someone usually with the name of Questathana, who in reality is a twenty year old male named Zachary that lives in New York City. I could say more about him, but it probably either will not make it through or distract you more than I need to. Yeah I have no idea why that citation is in that kind of font. I tried to fix it, but it will not work for me. It is probably nothing. A goddess invades the world on Halloween.


"Eeek!" 
After typing the title, Pi danced around with excitement, and high-fived Galaxy to celebrate this great achievement.　　
"Wait a minute!" Zhang Zian could not ignore this. "Pi, do you want to write a novel about pets?"　　
"Eeek!"　　
Pi nodded. It pointed at him, at Galaxy, then at itself, and typed: "A novel about pets, pet shop and everybody."　　
Zhang Zian frowned slightly after hearing this, feeling worried about the future of this novel. He had not read many online novels, but his gut feeling was telling him that nobody would be interested in such a novel. For pet owners, they were so busy cuddling their cats and walking their dogs, how could they have time to read a novel about pets? For those who don't own pets, they were either not interested in pets or even hated pets, not to mention reading a book about pets. The most likely potential readers were those who didn't have time to own pets, but liked pets and wanted to own them remotely in a "cloud". But how many of them could there be?　 
Most online novels were about travelling back in time throughout history or another world, practicing Kongfu, writing poetry, being cool and kicking butts; or about being raised from the dead and returning to a city, then making monkey with prophetic knowledge and dating a few or dozens of women at the same time...He had never heard of a popular online novel about a pet shop.　 
Pi wanted to kill time by writing a novel. He was happy about this. But for a novel with so few potential readers, it may lose confidence after finding out nobody was reading it. It may fall into deeper self-isolation.

Pi tapped on a menu button: "Becoming a writer", then showed it to Zhang Zian.　　
"A photo ID is needed?" Zhang Zian took a glance, and thought this was complicated.　
"Eeek."　　
Pi typed: "I'm a residential alien. I don't have an ID."　　
Zhang Zian's face twitched. He didn't know where it learned the words "residential alien"...but it was appropriately used.　
"That is to say...you need my ID?" He pointed at his nose and asked.　
Pi nodded.　　
Fine. He was the only one with an ID in the pet shop. Although uploading his ID was not a safe move, he was an ordinary Joe after all. Not many hackers were targeting him. The internet was a free space. If all publications were anonymous, it could cause big problems. The dark web developers might blend in and advertise their illegal business.
Zhang Zian took a picture of his ID photo, and uploaded it according to the website instructions. After identity verification, he finally created a new book and uploaded new chapters with his account.　　
"Eeek!"　　
Pi typed the title of the first chapter eagerly: Amazing Fate Pet Shop. Then it entered the text: On the magnificent East Coast of the motherland, there was a quiet coastal city called Binhai City. It was beautiful, with a large economy and a slow pace of life. Binhai had an absence of large industrial enterprises, making it a suitable place to live a peaceful life...　
"Wait a minute!"　　
Zhang Zian found a big mistake, and asked Pi to pause, in case the mistake grew bigger.　　
"Eeek?"　　
Pi gestured to inquire.　
"What the heck is Binhai City?" Zhang Zian pointed out the mistake. "Pi, did you make a mistake? This is not Binhai City, and there is no such a city in China."　
"Eeek."　

Pi pointed at the website instructions for authors to show Zhang Zian. 
He stretched his neck, gazed at the screen and read. "In order to avoid unnecessary complications caused by real information in your work, we suggest the that authors avoid using real information in your writing, such as geographic locations, celebrity names, well-known companies, etc.... What the heck is this?"　
That was why. No wonder Pi used "Binhai City" to replace the real name of the city. He thought Pi was making a mistake.　
"But this city name is too sloppy. You'd better make a note, in case the readers complain about it." Zhang Zian reminded it.　　
Pi nodded bitterly and continued: "In this city with a sloppy name, there was a small, unknown pet shop." 
Zhang Zian nodded with satisfaction. But the next sentence made him uneasy again!　　
"Who is Zhang Zian? Why haven't I heard of this guy?" He asked.　　
Pi pointed at him, meaning "you", then at the website instructions on "celebrity names". 
Fine...I'm a celebrity at the end of the day. I was about to be myself and win the heart of a thousand girls...Zhang Zian was speechless. But to avoid breaking the website's rule by using a real name, he had to accept this weird alias.　　
"How about you, Galaxy and Famous? And Fina, Old Time Tea, Richard, and Snowy Lionet? Will they have aliases too?" He asked.　　
Pi typed: "No. We are not humans, so we can keep our names."　　
After typing, it deleted this extra sentence.　　
This cheered Famous up. "Great! I always wanted to keep my real name, not using an alias nor becoming a substitute of another dog."　　
This is unfair... Dogs have more rights than men these days? Zhang Zian was a little upset in his heart.　
After writing for a while, Pi was stuck, and could not tap any more keys on the keyboard. It scratched its head, read the nameless book for a few minutes, then resumed typing.　


Pi was a slow typist. Before this, it was typing out newspapers, following a template. Chinese was not its mother tongue. It had to design a plot, sketch the Chinese words in its head, then type them out.　　
If it were someone else with the same typing speed, Zhang Zian would not have watched on the side. But Pi was the one typing, and the story was about himself. He watched with great patience, going downstairs occasionally for business. 　　
As the words jumped from of Pi's keyboard onto the laptop screen, Zhang Zian's memory gradually came back. He relived the unforgettable days with Pi's words. 　
The detail that Pi described were things that he never told anybody else. He had even forgotten some of them himself. He lived everything in first person, but Pi recorded from an objective, third-person perspective, just like an invisible camera floating around him, recording every tiny detail.　　
"I absolutely didn't have dark eye circles." He pointed out.　
Pi typed "Yes" with certainty, then deleted it. It waved the nameless book, suggesting the nameless book's record could never be wrong.　　
Zhang Zian didn't know how to defend himself. He knew that he may have dark eye circles then after a few sleepless nights in the hospital, and being exhausted with the funeral. He might have very dark eye circles, but he couldn't see it himself. 
After the debut of Little Celery in Pi's writing, he laughed and said: "If Wang Yaning reads this novel, my obsession with young girls would be made known... Oh, Pi, apart from the names and locations, is everything else real?"　　
Pi thought about it and typed: "70% real and 30% unreal, just like 'Romance of the Three Kingdoms'."　　
Zhang Zian laughed silently. Pi certainly read the four masterpieces.　
After finishing the first chapter, with a 2079 word count, Pi uploaded it with satisfaction.
"Take a break, Pi." suggested Zhang Zian. Two to three hours had passed since Pi started writing this chapter.　
Pi jumped off the chair obediently to stretch itself. But it was worried about the fate of this novel. The beginning was so ordinary. Would someone read it?

"It seems we must accelerate your original plan, Eranoth," Jericho sighed. 
Eranoth scrunched his brows in anxiety. "But everyone will hate that. I guess I was too hopeful. I hoped that people would be honest. I hoped that things could go better. I wanted to see everyone including myself find enjoyment and happiness. It really does only take a few problematic humans to ruin everything."
Jericho nodded. "True, but what is more important? Writing until you are a shriveled husk and have to stop writing because you couldn't afford your electricity or internet bills, or making everyone upset right now so that you can write, and write properly moving forward, so you can afford these things. We all know that because of your horrible reactions to other people's colognes, perfumes, scented items, vape, smoke and other things, that you can't hold a normal job. Your health has already limited your options."
Moira nodded. "Right! You are writing to get published officially because it is one of your only hopes left. With all these people out there wanting to make you work your butt off for nothing, you are better off moving forward with your plan now rather than later. The most important thing is that the people who truly care about your work will gladly follow. Don't lump them into the 'they' that you fear. The 'they' is the minority of them, even if they are loud."
Eranoth sighed in defeat as he slumped onto Jericho's piano bench. "Logically I get it. Emotionally this is something I don't want to do. I really like interacting with these really fun people. I know they like my story as well. Alexandra's and ExtraWhiteRice's funny comments, TJinx's and Le_Berino's constant support, YoungJustice's 'defend the author' and everyone else's fun interactions and support."
Moira flicked the author's forehead. "It's not like you are dropping the story. The fans that care, will follow you. They will enjoy all the extra hard work you have put in to improving things. Think about it, all they really want is for our story to continue. You are still doing that. In fact, you are doing even more than just continuing the story."
Jericho nodded. "She's right, and on top of that you are being extremely kind and informing them of the choice you have made after days of self debate. You aren't reacting to the situation, you are acting in your best interest and their best interest. Besides, this plan has been there for a long time, you are just hastening it."
"But I was hoping to get out volume 2 before I enacted any portion of this plan. I was hoping to hoping to have volume 1 published before I enacted my plan. Only one person is following my ko-fi for my announcements. The discord was a flop. I'm afraid that this will fail just like everything else."
Jericho smiled. "When do things ever go according to plan? Besides, if you keep speaking Eranothian, you will keep confusing people."
A knock was heard at the door. 
"They are here." Moira opened it. "Everyone, You're here! Come in, come in! Eranoth's got some really exciting news that will make you happy!"
Eranoth shook his head in disbelief, "I really don't think my choice will make people happy," he muttered to himself. 
A horde of over 500 people crowded into the living room killing off any breathing room. "What is this news you have to tell us?"
Eranoth clenched his fist as he struggled to find the words. "I'm leaving the internet writing scene."
The group was in uproar and some people left before hearing the rest of what the author was trying to say.
"I mentioned before that I am going the publishing route. As I have been editing volume 1, I realized that my voice, especially when I can get it edited, doesn't really match the air of internet writing. So, coming up, you will see a significantly improved version of my work in physical book and e-book format. When I can get things out, the first place you will be able to find it at is <B>barnesandnoble.com</B>."
"Bah, paperback versions," a random person said as they walked out the door. 
Eranoth took a deep breath. "I was offered the webnovel contract, but found that the conditions for them to pay me anything were too harsh for me. For the sake of my work, I could not accept their conditions and feel happy about it."
Moira smiled. "Jericho and I are glad you chose to reject it for our sake and the sake of the royal bardians, but if you keep sacrificing like this, eventually you won't have the capability to continue."
Eranoth nodded slowly. "Right," he said before looking up at the expectant faces. "Recently, I discovered that my story has been copied and pasted onto about ten other websites without my permission. One website is calling me a translator. Another website is saying they are posted my work on their site in order to promote me. Others have said nothing. But Jericho the Bard is my intellectual property. Since I cannot earn money to pay for any of the basic necessities for an author to keep writing; these websites are doing all of us way more harm then good. So, I had to come up with a plan in order to counteract the damage that has been done."
Another person spat. "So your plan is to drop it? How dare you! We all told you not to drop it!"
Eranoth flinched as he held his own tears. "Changing mediums," he muttered. "All I'm doing is changing mediums."
Jericho sighed. "Everyone, this isn't easy for Eranoth to do or say." He turned to the author. "Eranoth, just your self-editing alone has made the future version of our story into something far more fulfilling and significantly less boring. You have already made thousands of changes. You have made many things clearer, you have simplified the difficult to understand complexities of game mechanics, and you have added more depth to the story. I'm curious to see what will happen once your editor April gets her hands on it. If you alone can make that much of a leap in progress, I'm looking forward to when she tears things to shreds and can help you see where things need more work."
Another person spoke up. "You are doing all this extra work, Why? Your story is great where it is."
Eranoth turned away took a breath and looked out the cold snowy window. "This is the only Win-Win I could find after a long time of searching. Publishing official versions of my works seems to be the best way forward. Jericho and Moira deserve this editing. They are worth more to me, than first draft vomit onto the page. You all can see and understand far more and my story will progress far better if I put in this extra work. I can potentially earn a piddly income in order to keep writing, and do things right by everyone."
Eranoth turned to face the slowly shrinking crowd once again. "Originally, I was going to post volume 2 and have volume 1 published before I took any similar actions. But after seeing the dishonesty of people on the internet, I knew I couldn't let that continue. Oh, and for all those reading this on other websites, contact your website group and let them know there are slight changes in all the chapters and that if they want to be more complete, they should restart their copy pasting ways. Everyone will be happier if they do."
"What was that about?" another random person asked. 
Eranoth grinned as the person asked about his diabolical plan. "Just a little insurance. After all, I am J Eranoth, the author of this book. If they are going to copy and paste my work onto their websites at least they should acknowledge who this book came from. But enough about them," the author's grin vanished. "If you stay with me, or follow my ko-fi, I will be able to let you know when things are officially out, and with the ko-fi, other updates as well. Thank you again for all the support you have given me so far. When things are available, I will update another chapter to let you know. Until then, please give your powerstone votes to other authors who may want/need the webnovel contract whose conditions I could not accept. The little guys need the support you can give." 
Eranoth took a breath to calm down. "I know many of you will chose to leave, knowing that the online posting of my story or chapters is no longer going to be a thing for me. I hope many of you can understand both my fears and my dreams. I hope that many of you will be happy with the fact that I care so much about everyone that I want the best for me, for you, and for my stories. I hope that more than just my story of Jericho can see the light of readers eyes. I have more works I have been working on during this time. And those who are thinking that I am a selfish person, you are right, I am. I am not someone who can sacrifice everything with a smile and say it will all work out! I am not someone who can live in this era of 'you exist therefore you must pay for the air you breath' without a means to take care of myself. If I don't do this, then eventually I would have had to stop writing because of a lack of sufficient income and/or worsening health because of my adverse reactions to most things that scream "people". I haven't been to a movie theater in years. I haven't hung out with someone in a social place in years. I can't even go over to some of my friends' houses to hang out with them. I haven't been to a church in a long time. All of this is because of my adverse reactions to colognes, perfumes, scented items (Plug-in air fresheners, candles, oils and so on), other people's vape, second hand smoke and many other harmful (to me) substances that can be found ABSOLUTELY EVERYWHERE!"
Eranoth sighed and looked down, trying not to break down in tears. "Sorry, I got on my soap box. But you never know the life an author is facing. Why are they writing? I just wish that some people would realize how much pain some of us are actually in. I'm not the only one to face this. I'm not the only author or artist out there who cannot hold a normal job. I didn't write this so you would pity me. In fact, I hate people's pity. But I want you to understand that I am doing this 51% for selfish reasons. I am a selfish person."
Moira smiled at Eranoth's courage to speak about the reality of his own life. "How is that selfish?" she asked.
Eranoth shook his head. "I don't know, but I do know that it is what most people would call it. This is hard for me. I wanted to keep interacting with you all. I really had hoped that online writing could be the answer. But things rarely go how we want them. So, I will say once more for good measure. I, J Eranoth, author of Jericho the Bard, am changing mediums officially. Again, when I am able to get it out there, the first place to look for it will be at barnesandnoble.com. The author flinched and tensed.
"Relax, most of them are still here. Most of them support your choice. I can tell. These are your true fans, their my true fans. These people don't care that you are changing mediums. In fact, these people are proud that you care enough to make this hard choice. They understand that you are not dropping your work. They understand that you are seeking something far better."
The author sighed and relaxed a little. "At least, I feel at peace with my choice. Well, everyone, thank again for coming. I'm sorry things had to play out this way. I, J Eranoth, will keep writing. I will keep improving and I will see you all again!" Eranoth stood and walked resolutely towards the door, trying to hide his own tears. He closed the door behind him as he walked out into the snowstorm.
The people still in the house with Jericho and Moira were silent. 
Moira smiled at the crowd. "Shall we perform one last time for you?"
Jericho sat as his piano. His fingers played the keys. His voice called out, singing about a hopeful and brighter future.

After unknowingly experiencing both a disaster and a fortuitous encounter, Jericho and his sister are given the game with the hope this new world can bring his wonderful music to light.

A moment later, Qi Yanxi sighed, looking defeated.
"Fine. I just thought that I would regret it even more if I didn't come."
Qi Yanxi believed that if he really loved someone, he should go after her no matter what.
He would still care for her even if she couldn't love him back — even if she could never love him back.
What did it matter? At least he had tried, sparing no effort and with all his zeal.
He didn't want to live with all sorts of regrets when he was old, such as "well, if only I had tried a little harder back then," "if only I had told her 'I love you,'" or "if only we could have been together then."
There was no use crying over spilled milk and he only wanted to live in the moment.
"Xiaxia, don't feel awkward. It's not your fault that you're loved." Qi Yanxi shrugged and grinned, showing his fine white teeth.
An Xiaxia immediately shook her head and said seriously, "No, I've always found it very fortunate to be loved."
After some thought, she looked at Qi Yanxi and smiled. "Thank you for loving me once."
Thank you for making my teenage years so meaningful.
Thank you for showing me that such love exists in this world.
"What are you talking about?" Sheng Yize came back with three drinks.
Qi Yanxi jumped up and gave him a roguish smile. "We were saying that we should edit the wedding photos, replacing your face with mine. Teehee! I'm going to marry Xiaxia, too!"
Sheng Yize kicked him. "Not in this lifetime."
Qi Yanxi pursed his lips. "If marrying Xiaxia is out of the question, I can marry you! Little Blacky, I love you! Mwa!"
An Xiaxia was petrified. Somehow, that feminine way of talking suited Qi Yanxi very well!
Sheng Yize smiled and caressed his cheek. "Be a good boy, Little Flower."
He had lowered his tone, making his voice extremely alluring.
Qi Yanxi jumped away, frightened. "Shit! That was so scary! Stay away from me!"
He promptly ran away. Sheng Yize chuckled, then handed the milk tea to An Xiaxia. "There you go."
An Xiaxia took it and found that it was still hot — perfect to warm her hands with.
"You and Flower… are really suitable for each other in a way." An Xiaxia let her imagination fly. "I'm going to start a new story after we get back! It'll be all about the love-hate and bittersweet relationship between Blacky and Flower…"
Seeing his wife's sparkling eyes, Sheng Yize felt hopeless. "Can you try to write something normal?"
"What's not normal about that?" An Xiaxia, the famous slash fiction writer, refused to obey.
"You can write a story about Blacky and Xiaxia. Once upon a time, there was this Blacky who fell in love with Xiaxia. They then lived happily ever after…"
"That's such a boring story." An Xiaxia pursed her lips.
Sheng Yize, who had been belittled, was speechless.
His phone vibrated. Sheng Yize picked it up and saw that it was a message from his assistant.
"We managed to track down the IP address of the person who sent the email."
He replied, "Where?"
The assistant seemed to hesitate for a moment before replying, "The Meng family…"
His granny's home? Sheng Yize raised an eyebrow.
Who could have done such a petty thing?

Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. I hope all is well, dear readers. 

I wanted to take the time to sincerely thank every single one of you for supporting the novel up to this point. It has truly been an honor writing on this platform. Throughout my bitter life, never did I imagine I'd start writing and have people supporting me in the process. I cannot help but say I'm in debt for your undivided support. :')

As for the novel status, we are now past the half mark of Volume 1. Some may be curious as to how long I plan on making the series. I'd say 10 volumes minimum, each being at least 50,000 words (about 50 chapters on Webnovel).

Many may find this unexpected, but my goals for this story is beyond the ordinary. I plan to enter this work into Japan, which will lead to an eventual Manga + Anime adaptation. How do I plan on doing that exactly? Have no worry, I've done my research. Lots of research.

To simplify matters, the plan is to grow on English platforms such as Webnovel, Royal Road, Tapas, Moonquill and even Reddit if I'm lucky. If I attain a certain level of popularity and approval, that will be my beacon to hire a translator to get the book(s) into Japanese and enter them into one of their major web novel competitions online. Winners do get promoted in their magazine and at one point, will be elevated to get adaptations. Lots of anime (some poorly written ones as well) are attaining recognition from these competitions and are getting adaptations, especially in the past few years.

I have no doubt that this work can reach that level someday. Sure, I'm bound to fail, that goes without saying. That won't alter my goal in the slightest. I'm willing to do any and everything possible to make this happen. Even if it takes my entire life. Even if I don't earn a dime. Even if I must sacrifice the time with my friends and family. Even if I must continue to lose sleep. Even if my grades have to be discarded. Even if I have to quit my job. Even if I need to spend thousands of dollars more in investment... I will stay firm towards this goal. This has always been but a dream to me. I will no longer allow it to stay that way, rather, I will make it a reality.

Whew, I've said a lot it seems. Putting all of it aside, some kind souls might wonder: how will I be able to support this cause? 

It's a lot easier than you think, believe me. I have absolutely no intentions to ask money on a PayPal, nor to demand on a platform like Patre0n. I refuse to get this book contracted with locked chapters too, believe it or not. 

All I ask for is that on this platform followed by other websites in the future (will let everyone know once I start publishing elsewhere) that the following is done:

Greetings to my beloved readers, I just want to thank you for giving this book a chance to be heard. It has been a few months since Covid19 wreaked havoc around the world, tucking us into our homes for safety and security. I am delighted to be able to write and present such odd Ancient-Chinese themed novel to all of you. I know somehow most people around my age and younger are bored at home, so might as well motivate everyone to read and enhance their reading comprehension/ critical thinking skills. As an amateur Filipino teen writer I am not expecting so much from this book, but I can't help it, I want to be able to share a story to the mass and escape the world of reality for a while. Your reviews, comments and support are very much appreciated so don't forget to leave a note. I as a college student also want to improve my writing skills, so I'll thank everyone in advance. Suddenly, they were seen by internet users.
"Oh! He’s a good boy and a straight-A student. I wonder if his girlfriend is sad about those news."
"Yes, it must be annoying. I’d be very sad if my boyfriend was having an affair."
"Actually, they were childhood sweethearts. It’s rumored that Qin Guan refused a beautiful girl’s affection without hesitation while in college."

"Really? Those websites are so evil!"
The voices supporting Qin Guan were getting louder and louder. Some talented people with time on their hands started to make a chart of the different news about Qin Guan.
Finally, they read the news on Soulang, which clarified the truth and told the story from beginning to end.
Those websites had been fabricating news and attracting users by posting fake photos!
The fighters on the Haijiao Forum were excited. Those radicals were famous for fighting demons and defending moral principles.
They could start a fierce battle over a trifle, let alone over getting the hottest news.
They knew the truth, so they had to fight!
The battle started on the Haijiao Forum and quickly spread to the other websites.
Their first aim was Jiulang. Plenty of Haijiaoers flocked in and gathered under the post about Kyoko and Qin Guan’s affair.
Using temporary IDs, they occupied the whole comment area and gradually took control of the entire entertainment section.
The Jiulang website administrator was sleeping in his office, holding a cigarette in his mouth. 
By the time he woke up from his nap, the whole page had collapsed.
       He typed on his keyboard, his heart in his mouth, but it was too late.
One after the other, all the websites except Soulang crashed.
The administrator of Wangnan was confident though. They had bought the largest server in the market that year. He wasn’t afraid of those internet mobs.
As expected, the Haijiao Army met its first obstacle there. 
Posts were refreshed rapidly, but the function of the server was still unobstructed. As the fighters were discussing a counterplan, the administrator suddenly jumped up with wild eyes. He looked like he had been stamped on the tail.
The homepage had fallen into enemy hands. All the links had disappeared, leaving only a warning in black and white: Defending Qin Guan is our life-long career!
It had to be someone superior. The director wiped the sweat off his forehead. The technicians worked really hard, but failed to restore the homepage.
"What should we do?" 
The director gritted his teeth. "We can only report this to the boss."
Many people lost sleep that night.
Qin Guan spent the day in bed, but Sister Xue informed him about the incident.
He watched the drama online with keen pleasure, eating chicken legs and noodles at the same time.
When Wangnan collapsed, his phone rang.
It was Cong Nianwei. Qin Guan had texted her one hour earlier, but she had been at a lecture at the time.
Her sweet voice improved his mood.
Liu Xiaoyang, who had a chicken wing in his mouth, was shocked by Qin Guan’s expression. The wing fell into his bowl, covering his face in soup.
"Did Wangnan really collapse, Qin Guan?"
"Yes, but how do you know?"
"It's evening and I’m in my dormitory. You forget that QH is full of talented students. They could get information on all your family members with just one IP. I’m a goddess here, so lots of strangers are eager to help me. I don't even need to ask them."

He fell asleep soon, but some deeply troubled people were working overnight, the phones in their offices ringing again and again. They were discussing countermeasures.
 "We have free speech. What shall we do?" the staff members said one after the other.
"In my opinion, we should remove the articles. Without a target, they’d have no reason to keep attacking us."
"Shall we make a statement after removing them though? What if they attack other sections? Just think about Wangnan’s fate." 
"We can ask the PR department to make a written statement, telling them we have already dismissed the reporter."
"Good idea. Remove the articles first. Then keep observing."
They took urgent action as more and more users gathered on the Haijiao Forum like a rolling snowball. The Haijiao administrator was confused as well.
He knew the server well enough. With such a large flow, their own page would collapse soon. It was because of those fighters. They had attracted curious users from the websites that were under attack. 


Qin Guan was reborn and sent back to his final semester in High School 18 years ago. Getting a second chance at life, he works hard to turn things around and eventually become a Prince Charming.
