Manila Science High School was one of the most well-known high school in Manila before the world changed. The school occupies a very large area and the tall buildings were placed away from each other to maximize the space.

There were 9 buildings in total that were located inside the Manila Science High School grounds. In the middle of the school grounds was the office of the principal and other personnel. It was just a 2-story building that was mostly used whenever they have a meeting or during an emergency.

The next building that occupies the most surface area in the school was the gym building. The gym was a 4-story building with many sports and recreational equipment. It was complete with most of all the major sports equipment and the space inside the building was so wide that 2 basketball court was enough to fit in there. There was also a swimming pool just located outside of the building.

Just near the gym was another 3-story building. The building has 2 floors, with the first floor of the building serving as the main cafeteria of the whole school while the second floor was where the clinic and the main room for the Supreme Student Government (SSG) for short was. 

The remaining 6 buildings are the official buildings for the grade 7-12 students. The buildings all looked exactly the same from outside, with the height of 10 story and 5 rooms for each floor. The students don't generally stay in their grade level building all the time as sometimes, they may have to use equipment or tools that is located from a different grade level building. The buildings were mostly separated somewhat far from each other, so getting from one to the next took some time.

The building where ate my lunch was located in the front of the grade 7 building. It takes me 5 minutes to walk from our grade 12 building to here. Although I don't know what happened to all the other buildings, I presume that it must have also already collapsed. I can only try my best to find something within the rubble in our cafeteria hay…

How come the cafeteria building still stands? Why are there so many zombies here, if the building didn't collapse, there shouldn't be any dead body that became a zombie, right? Was it because they were infected by some zombies that were killed from the collapse of the gymnasium?

Even though I don't know if the gym building really did collapse, I can only presume it has as else, it would surely be impossible for there to be many zombies here. But the thing really bothering me was how the cafeteria was still standing?

The earthquake that happened yesterday was so strong that it can be said to be the strongest earthquake that ever happened in human history. Even when I looked outside on top of the mountain of rubble, I haven't seen any building in the vicinity that remained standing after that earthquake.

Although I only saw the surrounding buildings because of the height of the mountain of rubble, it was enough for me to draw a conclusion that all buildings made of cement would have surely already collapsed; not to mention our cafeteria building that was made with unstable foundations and the government trying to save some of the money for the construction.

I decided to temporarily stop thinking about the building for now. Anyway, it is also a great thing for me as I will not have to look for foods under the pile of rubble. Although the zombies were much more than my estimated amount, it can't be helped because the collapse of the building didn't kill any of them.


I try thinking about what I can do to get inside the building. Firstly, I can try to draw their attention away from inside the cafeteria, but the risk is high as the zombies may become scattered all throughout the vicinity, making it harder for me to maneuver my things around.

Secondly, I can try to reach the second floor of the building from the window outside, but the problem still remains that I will have to get on the first floor to get a food. Or maybe I can drill a hole and fish the food from above? But the zombies may become attracted to the sound and rush their way upstairs, trapping me. In the first place, I don't even know whether there are no zombies on the second floor…
