The process of transferring knowledge was nothing special. 

At least in the physical world, nothing special happened except the fact that Fraser lied down on his bed. 

However, in Fraser's mind, he experienced something that cannot be described with words. 

It felt like living a journey where a wise mentor guided you towards the goal. 

Like learning so much in a short period of time. 

Belonging to something greater. 

As Fraser experienced the knowledge transfer he felt weird. 

After all, he experienced everything in the spiritual world. It was different as he got lectured directly in the spirit, meaning that everything that he learned would stay in his spirit. 

A few hours passed as Fraser experienced the knowledge transfer, but to Fraser, it felt like a single moment. 

Opening his eyes Fraser felt a shiver running through his body. 

'Unbelieve able. The yellow insect had so much potential. I am lucky that I was able to kill it. Yet the question on how I fused with the yellow insect still is not answered.' 

Confused Fraser retreated back into his spirit sphere, which he formerly named the spirit room. 

Runes covered the walls of the spirit sphere and now Fraser knew exactly what these runes were for. 

'I acquired an innate spell, which will grow alongside my spirit and eventually create more spells for me to use. So that is where the spell models come from. That means that technically everyone would be able to use my innate spell mode.' 

Fraser clenched his fists in excitement. A spell model which would grow alongside him. 

Though the theory would suggest that everyone would be able to use his innate spell model if created properly, however from the knowledge file Fraser knew that the innate spell from the yellow insect was something special. 

The innate spell would create a servant for the hive mind, often called the mind or the social behavior of an entire society. 

In other words, Fraser had become a hive mind, the mind or the brain of an entire society. 

Thus even if anyone replicated the spell model, they would need the ability to be able to manage these servants. 

Or else they would just be able to create an uncontrollable creature which might even kill the caster or Magus. 

'So right now I am a one man army. The only thing I need is enough organic material and time in order to create servants. AI, can I change my servants or are the created servants already determined?' 

[From the information of the Yellow Insect, there is a small number of standard servants which are already programmed into the knowledge file. However in order to improve the servants a lot of experiments and testing needs to be done. Thus the conclusion is that yes, servants can be changed] 

'What are the standard servants in the knowledge file? AI, make a list and if you are able to simulate their strength and behavior list them as well. Also, tell me the number of the standard servant in the knowledge file.'

While the AI seemed to create the list of the standard servants Fraser had a relieved smile on his lips. 

'I guess what doesn't kill you will make you stronger.' 

A short laugh escaped Fraser's mouth before the AI finished the list.

Fraser glanced at the servant list for a while before thinking about the social structure of ants, bees and termites. 

'How come they are so similar? I mean this is probably the foundation for a huge society which would result in a smarter hive mind.' 

Something seemed odd for Fraser, however, he quickly threw the suspicion back into the back of his head. 

'How come there is no drawback? AI are all servants as small as the yellow insect I killed?' 

If the servants would be as small as the yellow insect which Fraser killed, they would be nothing much except cannon fodder. 

After all even with dark rope, one of the cheapest spell models available Fraser would be able to kill thousands upon thousands of small insects with a single cast. 

Fraser expected a confirmation that the servants would be quite small, however, he got a positive surprise. 

[Each servant size is only depending on the organic material available, though every servant will take up an amount of spirit. So the maximum amount of spirit will equal to the number of servants you will be able to control. So the bigger the size for each of the servants, the more spirit you have to use] 

After hearing the limitations of his now innate spell Fraser immediately began to order the necessary materials in order to start experimenting. 

Which was to walk outside of his private chamber and try to see if he can get a lot of organic materials, in other words, meat, it didn't matter in which state so corpses, parts or even beautiful cut up were the same quality materials in Fraser's eye. 

To be honest, if Fraser didn't fuse with the yellow insect there would only be a few things left for Fraser on which he could improve on. 

He wasn't able to experiment on Alchemy as he only had one Alchemist Set and if that somehow got destroyed while he was at the outpost there was a high chance that he wouldn't be able to get a second one. 

So the only things left were experimenting with his now destroyed spell models, strengthening his physique in order to become an apprentice knight and to meditate in order to improve his spirit. 

But with the fusion of the yellow insect and the innate spells Fraser now had a lot more to experiment upon. 

As Fraser walked through the floors of the outpost a few apprentices saw him but didn't dare to approach him as Fraser came from the direction of the private chambers. 

Just as Fraser walked through the more populated region of the outpost for a while in order to reach the canteen a giant muscular guy walked towards Fraser. 

Easily topping Fraser height by three entire heads the muscular guy stopped Fraser in his way and spoke in a deep voice:

"My big sister wants to meet you, Fraser. Also, there is a meeting for the inner circle going on right now so follow me." 

Without a choice Fraser walked behind the muscular guy, remembering that the muscular guy seemed to be the younger brother of the muscular woman who took the lead at almost every meeting Fraser attended. 

As soon as Fraser entered the inner circle room with the "escort" of the muscular guy, every eye turned towards his direction for a short moment before they continued to do whatever they did before he entered the room. 

"My bigger sister is over there, in the corner. Let us walk towards her." said the muscular guy in a voice before "escorting" Fraser towards his sister.

Someone transmigrated into the body of a noble that was on his way to become a Magi. His only keepsake, an AI-Chip that had the ability to calculate and store information. Thus, follow the journey of Fraser Rosethorn.

• Shield generator = consumes power to surround the craft in an invisible one way barrier
• F.T.L. drive = consumes power to propel the craft at a speed faster than the speed of light in a single direction, range limited by size, must enter a cooldown sycle after every use, must be spooled for (sixe 1-2 = 3 seconds, size 3-4 = 5 seconds, size 5-7 = 7 seconds, size 8-10 = 10 seconds)
• Armor = the outer hull of the crat, size equals thickness ( size 1-3 X 2cm = thickness) (size 4-6 X 3cm = thickness) (size 7-10 X 4cm = thickness)
• Primary thrusters = thrusters on the craft that point towards the rear in order to propel the craft forwards, consumes ship grade fuel to provide propulsion
• Maneuvering thrusters = thrusters placed strategically in the hull of the craft that control the pitch, yaw, and roll of the craft, consumes ship grade fuel to provide propulsion, will always be at least one size smaller than the primary thrusters
• Scanner = a component that when used (not always active) will give information about the crafts surroundings, consumes power on use,  range and depth of detail of the scan determined by size of component
• Targeting system = multy function system with different functions depending on the type of weapons on the craft, if weapons are fixed = shows aim assist reticle that leads the selected target, if weapons are gimbaled = auto aims the weapons at selected target, it weapons are turreted = controls auto turrets to fire at selected target
• Battery = stores power equal to one fourth of the total output of an equivalent sized engine
• Stealth system = consumes power to constantly mask the emissions of the craft making it harder for systems no notice the crafts presence
• Stealth armor = modified standard armor by adding Inanisite during the armors production there by reducing its durability but greatly reducing the crafts ability to be detected
• Fixed weapons = weapons attached to the craft directly, the on way to aim the weapons is to move the ship accordingly, will match the crafts weapon size
• Gimbaled weapons = weapons attached to the craft through moving joints, can move in a fixed arc (depending on the craft and placement on said craft), will be one size lower than the crafts weapon size 
• Turreted weapons = weapons mounted on a turret, comes in two variants = maned, auto, auto turrets require Targeting system to function
• S.S.C.N.H. = Sub-Space Communications Network Hub allows for long range coms use in non-controlled star systems and during F.T.L. travel, only available in sizes 3,5,7,10
3. Grades
• Basic = the base components that come equipped to a ship, can be purchased after market, three needed to equal one larger size component, average price equivalent to $10,000 X size
• Advanced = aftermarket parts created with higher grade processes, two needed to equal one larger size component, average price equivalent to $20,000 X size
• Military = parts recovered from old humanity military ships, sold only by players, one needed to equal one larger size component, average price equivalent to $30,000 X size
• Stealth = upgrade to a Basic part to mask its emissions making it harder to detect, can be purchased after market, three needed to equal one larger size component, average price equivalent to $15,000 X size

Elves and magic, fancy swords and shiny armor, and the most over used tropes seem to make up every MMO game on the market today. Humanities Homecoming: Retaking Earth is not like all those games. Terrans are on the brink of extinction and Kevin Yore, just like all the other VRMMO players out there, are diving in to do their best to reverse this fate and save their kind. 

Kevin might not be the smartest, strongest, fastest, or even luckiest person. In fact, he might just be an average person. No System. No Fortunate encounter. No memories of a past life. Just an average guy making a mark on the world with the only thing he believes himself to be good at, video games. 

Will you join him in his adventures of the Milky Way Galaxy? Will you curse him when he makes a stupid mistake? Will you cheer for him when he survives that harrowing brush with death? Or as Kevin would say “will you sit on your pampered a** and watch a great experience pass you by?”

Mag picked up Amy's hand. "Let's go upstairs. Amy is already yawning. Time for bed now," said Mag, smiling.
"Amy is not sleepy, and can still help Father clear the table," said Amy, shaking her head while yawning.
"Father will do it later. You can't sleep here, baby girl. Father can't carry you up…" Mag held Amy's little hand, feeling a little depressed somehow.
She was such a cute little girl, but he couldn't give her a princess hug, let alone lift her up. No, I have to recover as soon as possible! Mag told himself.
The stairs were on the other side of the kitchen. There was a door behind the counter. Separating the restaurant from the living area suited Mag just right.
The little thing had been running around looking for someone to check him up when he was unconscious. Now she had finished her dinner, and even though she said she was not sleepy, she almost closed her eyes while climbing up the stairs.
Mag took her to the main bedroom. Beside the big bed was a pink crib with rails, and it had everything on it—a small quit, a small pillow… and it also had a small staircase to climb.
Seeing the beautiful room and the little bed, Amy's eyes brightened a little, but she was too sleepy. Taking off her shoes, she climbed into her little bed and rested her head on the warm and comfortable pillow, and then, tightly holding onto Mag's finger, she said happily, "Father is so amazing. The bed is so soft and comfy, Amy loves it. And the Manchu Han Imperial Feast must be good too…"
"Right. Tomorrow morning, when you wake up, you will be able to try Father's love breakfast. Now close your eyes and sleep," said Mag, smiling.
"Love breakfast… it must be very good…" murmured Amy, and then she closed her eyes and fell asleep quickly.
Standing by her bed, Mag looked at Amy in her sound sleep and softly stroked the hair off her face, and then he pulled back his hand and tucked her up.
After that, he stooped down and softly kissed Amy's hair. Don't worry. Father will certainly make you the Manchu Han Imperial Feast.
Then, Mag sat on the big bed beside Amy's crib and closed his eyes to look at the door in his head, thinking about how to open it. To his surprise, a little man that looked exactly like him appeared in his head, and he was under his total control just like his own body. Mag hesitated for a little while, and then opened the door that had the words "Yangzhou Fried Rice" on it.
Suddenly, Mag felt a white light flash across his eyes, so he closed them subconsciously, and when he opened them again, his whole spirit was already sucked into that little man. The door behind him vanished, and he was standing in an oblong kitchen just like his own. Everything was to the same scale.
Mag's eyes brightened. Well, this is great. When I go out, I don't have to familiarize myself with the kitchen again. When he lifted his leg to walk, he got surprised one more time—the body that had no strength before was able to move normally now! He couldn't help jumping a few times. Although he still felt a little weak and feeble, he was clearly much better than his useless self before.
"System, what's this?" Mag cried out, a little excited. Could it be that the system has kindly recovered my health?
"The host is now in the condition of strength +0.5. Please try your best to complete the mission. The strong body is waiting for you," answered the system.
"Now I see." Mag looked at the strength sheet that simultaneously appeared in his head: the strength of a normal person was two, and Mag's strength after his treatment was one—half disabled.
Now his strength was 1.5, unable to lift a heavy sword, yet capable of holding the kitchen knife.
The strength limits of humans in this world were much higher than on the earth. "The standard cannot be changed. Please complete the mission as soon as possible," refused the system.
"Then what about other dishes?" Mag was a little worried.
"They will all follow the standard of your comments before."
"F*ck!"
Mag almost broke down. He had thought the system had no malice and could be used as an assistant, but now he knew he'd been utterly wrong. Using the requirements he'd brought up as the standard himself was certainly full of malice.
Thinking that his viciously picky requirements would be used on himself, a "f*ck you" wasn't enough to express his feelings.
I've definitely reaped what I've sown. Perhaps few people could meet that standard even if they're the masters who specialize in the Yangzhou fried rice, Mag thought.
Sure enough, I can't be too optimistic. This is a system God made for those cooks to specially mess with me, but now that I'm already in here, I can't get out until the mission is finished… Mag looked at the glittering experience bag that had appeared in his head and took a deep breath to make himself calm down.
Since there were no two ways about it, he chose to face it. Besides, he had already promised Amy to make love breakfast for her. Thinking about Amy's happy face as she ate the fried rice, Mag was filled with anticipation, and his face had become determined.
Mag tried to use his mind to touch the glittering experience bag, and then the experience of Yangzhou fried rice was infused into his head. The selection and processing of the ingredients and the procedures of cooking, etc., everything had fused with his mind as if he had known how to do it from the very beginning.
This simple? Mag was completely taken aback. He had thought the system would make things difficult for him, but instead of doing that, it gave such a big surprise straight to him. Cook the rice first, and then process the ingredients. Fry the rice at last. The procedures in Mag's head were very clear, and watching the ingredients in the fridge, his eyes brightened.
He grabbed some rice with his hand—it was very fine and smooth. It had a bluish white color, was plump, and was glittering and translucent in the lamplight—much better than the Thai fragrant rice he had usually had. A sweet fragrance tickled his nose.
Then, he looked to the shrimp in the water. Their translucent bodies even had the uncommon striations of lilac color. They were swimming merrily, looking full of vigor and wildness.
Winter bamboo shoots still had a little black soil on it, the salt frosting on the ham was not removed yet, the gray mushroom should be some kind of tree mushroom, eggs were much bigger than the usual ones, a little earth yellow in color, and there was still some dew on the green onions.
That was the least judgment he could make as a chowhound that had tried almost all the Michelin starred restaurants. These ingredients were definitely high-class, but how high? He couldn't tell exactly, but regardless of that, these things were for him to train, so he didn't hesitate, and started rinsing the rice.
Mag had thought that, with this amazingly good and detail-oriented experience, it shouldn't be too hard to handle that Yangzhou fried rice, but when he'd started processing the ingredients, he found it was not as easy as he had expected.
Although he was quite clear on how to wield the knife, when he started cutting, he found that his hands' movements were nowhere near meeting the requirements and standards in his head.
In order to make the texture of the fried rice smoother, every ingredient had to be cut into the same size as the rice grain, so high cutting skills were a necessity, which was a very difficult challenge before Mag. He couldn't even cut them into slices evenly, and had to repeat over and over again.
Mag looked at the slices of the bamboo shoot which were thin on one side and thick on the other, let out a sigh, and continued to work on another one.

Doctor Zhou lay in bed and could not quite fall asleep. He was unable to hold back from taking out his phone and checking for any missed calls. 
On a normal day, this would be the period in which it was the easiest for him to receive calls. 
People would call to ask him about what kind of medication they should take at night, confirm the surgeries he would be conducting at night, confirm the arrangement for tasks at night, and other miscellaneous tasks. All these tasks would usually be confirmed at this time. 
Once the patients who were admitted in the afternoon were treated and their conditions were stable, it would be very easy for him to have a good night's sleep. 
Of course, Doctor Zhou was usually able to have a good night's sleep during his night shifts.

He looked at his phone again. The one thing doctors were usually most afraid of was their phones ringing, but it was terrifying too when their phones did not ring at all. 
Doctor Zhou lay in bed again without getting undressed. He closed his eyes, and after three minutes, he got out of his bed once more to look at his phone. Then, he opened his closet decisively. 
The closet was about the size of a 17-inch display screen. The inner part was mostly empty, and only a yellow box was found in the lowest compartment. It was just like a 17-inch display screen that had a small yellow case to put a CD player in it. 
Doctor Zhou turned around and looked at the bed, which was covered with the white bed sheet. In the end, he chose to sit in a chair just like when he was seventeen years old. He used his hand and slowly touched the small yellow case… No, it was a yellow box, and he took it out!

It was the secret weapon of Yun Hua Hospital's Emergency Department. 
The attending physicians would only eat that on rare occasions. 
Doctor Zhou stared at the Honor P9[1], which had seemingly jammed up, and he opened the lid of the diced fish in black bean sauce without any hesitation.

Dropping on the bed, the phone suddenly rang. 
Doctor Zhou was first delighted before he lowered his head and looked at the salted fish, which had yet to be eaten. He frowned. 
'How ominous!'
While Doctor Zhou thought about that, he picked up his phone. "Hello?"
The resident doctor who made the call spoke anxiously, "Doctor Zhou, a boiler blew up, and the patients are being sent over now."
Doctor Zhou's emotions were inexplicably complicated. 
One, he was feeling regretful. If he had opened the can of salted fish much earlier… 
Two, Doctor Zhou felt relieved… 
Of course, he also felt so tense that he could hardly put it to words.
In fact, three to four seconds after Doctor Zhou picked up the call and realized how tense the situation was, he became truly anxious. "What was the size of the boiler?"

When that crossed Doctor Zhou's mind, his heart skipped a beat. 'Would they?'

"Oh no! I hope Little Miss wakes up soon," a weepy voice cried out. "What are we going to tell the Master and Madam?"

"It was an accident," another voice said calmly, her clear voice resonating throughout the room. "I'll continue staying by her side, please inform the Master and Madam what happened today."

Elaina was confused. Master and Madam? When had she ever known anyone who had titles like that?

With a throbbing resonating from her forehead, Elaina slowly opened her eyes. What she saw shocked her.

Pink frills and crown molding are what met her eyes instead of the clinical hospital room she thought she was in. Instead of a medical bed, a huge king-sized bed with pink bedding surrounded her with sturdy dark wood pillars and a pink canopy covering the whole bed. Stuffed animals were scattered along the walls of the room, all the toys varying sizes and design, emphasizing the youth of the room's owner.

Big bay windows draped in white curtains let in gentle rays of sunlight in. There was an ornate door opposite the bed and towards the right of the room lay a plain black door while the left had wooden double doors. A wooden chest lay in front of the bed where the top of it lay slightly ajar with hints of toys shining through. A white table lay near one of the walls with a huge bay window next to it overlooking the grounds below.

Why am I here, thought Elaina. What is happening?

"Little Miss, are you feeling alright?" the person with the clear and calm voice gently asked her. She looked at Elaina with unwavering black eyes and a gentle but serious face. From the clothes she was wearing, a black and white maid's uniform, Elaina guessed that this lady was a maid for whatever house she was currently in.

"Are you talking to me?" Elaina asked confused, wondering what in the world was happening.

"Are you okay Little Miss?"

Little Miss?

Elaina took a death breath and looked down. Instead of adult hands, she saw children sized hands. Her entire body was proportionate to that of a 5-year-old; it was no longer the 30-year-old she previously was.

What happened to me?

After looking around the room once more, Elaina covertly pinched herself. From the immediate pain that flooded her, she knew she was not dreaming. Somehow, she had changed bodies from her previous 30-year-old adult self to a now 5-year-old child. 

After her pounding headache, Elaina finally understood what happened. She had been transmitigated into another world. This world was almost like medieval societies in her previous world but had the added bonus and marvel of having magic to help with daily needs. The main power in this world was magic; people lived, breathed, and practiced magic. 

Magic stones helped bring water to the bathroom. Transportation circles allowed people to transport from different places to another place instantaneously. All technology ran on magic lines.

Instead of a democracy, a monarchy ruled this land. The Aerus Empire spanned the cold north, the eastern plains, the desert north, and the western jungles. At the center of the empire lived the Capitol; the place where all the Royal Family and the 10 Noble Families lived year-round.

Elaina was now the precious daughter of one of these 10 Noble Families; the Leonel family was one of the oldest families in Aerus. 

Her parents and current heads of the family are Lyson and Eliza Leonel. Lyson is a Star General, one of four generals sworn to protect the outer regions of the empire, and is famous for doting on his family. He lives inside the capitol for half a year and the other half of the year is spent in the south where his army is stationed.

Eliza Leonel is a renowned beauty and scholar. Not only did she have a beauty that could destroy cities, but her academic and martial knowledge was second to none. Her temperance made her seem like she was kind and genteel, but behind her smiling face lay a mind like no others.

Together both Eliza and Leonel brought even more fame and acclaim to the Leonel clan. Apart from one other family, the Leonel clan lay just underneath the Imperial family.

Eliza and Leonel only have one child. Eliana Leonel. Since she was their only child, Elaina was very much doted upon by her parents and servants. Like her mother, she inherited silky black locks dark as night, an angelic cherub face with rosy red cheeks, and beautiful glowing blue eyes that peeked behind frayed bangs. At a mere 5 years old, other people were already predicting that she would surpass her mother in looks and become a beauty like no other. 

The current Elaina did not look as angelic at this moment; she was overwhelmed with the information that flowed through her and the knowledge that she was now in a new world. 

What should she do?

"Little Miss? Are you okay?" the maid asked softly, concerned that the little miss had a frown on her face and her uncharacteristically quiet demeanor. 

Elaina looked at her for a second, waiting for the onset of memories to tell her who this was. The person in front of her was her personal maid and caretaker named Lily. Lily was young, only 15 years old, but because she was a fifth-generation maid and her family was extremely loyal to the Leonel clan, she rose to the status of maid and caretaker for the little miss.

Lily was a petite young woman, standing prim and proper next to her bedside wearing the standard maid attire. Her brown hair was tied back into a neat bun and her face was devoid of any makeup. She had black eyes the seemed to peer into your very soul and lightly rose dusted cheeks. She stood straight with perfect posture, hands in front and intertwined and feet closed together.

She had been around for her whole life and was very loyal to Eliana. Loyalty meant the most to the Leonel clan; it was okay to not have the best skills, but it was not okay to not be loyal.

"Huh? Oh, I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" she asked with a concerned tone in her voice. 

"Yes, I'm sure. Can I have some water please?" Elaina needed her out of the room so that she can have a stronger confirmation on the influx of knowledge she received. 

"I will go downstairs to get you some water. Please stay in the bed Little Miss, you still have not recovered from your injury."

Injury?

Elaina smiled at her and nodded her head. She'll figure out what injury and what happened to cause it after Lily left.

Lily looked at Elliana for a second longer, as if affirming that she would stay in the bed, before bowing and walking out of the bedroom. As soon as the door closed, Elaina ripped the throw off her body and went off the bed. 

She walked to a full-length mirror on the wall and inspected her new self. Like her memories informed her, she was now a 5 year-old-child with silken black locks. Long, thick black eyelashes surrounded her icy blue eyes that seemingly glowed. Blood red lips and rosy cheeks adorned her face, making her look angelic even with the current frown on her face. A frilly white nightdress adorned her body that emphasized how cute she looked.

A little white cloth can be seen behind her head. Elaina bunched up her hair and looked at her injury using the mirror. Part of her neck and head was wrapped in the bandage, a light pink seeping through the wrapping. She thought long and hard and waited for the information to come to her.

That's right, I was playing with some of the dogs before one of them accidentally got too excited playing with me before it pounced on me and caused me to fall backward, injuring the back of my head on a rock. It was a painful experience, but she hoped the dog did not suffer any consequences for its exuberance. 

After looking at her mirror and confirming that she indeed was another person in another world, Elaina investigated the rest of the room. The door opposite the bed was the way in and out of the room, so Elliana went to the right door first.

The black doors contained the bathroom. This bathroom was enormous, bigger than what a 5-year-old needs, and had everything one could ever want. It contained the standard sink and toilet, although it ran on magic to get rid of any waste that entered it instead of a plumbing system, and a massive shower area enclosed with detailed frosted glass. Little in it interested Elaina, so she went to the last door in the room.

A soft pitter-patter of feet could be heard as she gently ran across the room, eager to see the closet that presumably lies behind these doors.

Correct in her guess, opening the door opened a heaven dreamed of by little girls. Various dresses and outfits adorned the walls, the more ornate ones hanging by themselves showcasing the design. Jewelry lay in neat boxes alongside one of the walls, with different drawers containing a hidden treasure. The whole room was twice the size of the bathroom and chockfull of clothes, accessories, and shoes meant for her. It seemed like she could wear everything in the room for a year and not have to repeat a single outfit. 

It was nice to know that in this life, she was born into wealth.

A gentle knocking could be heard from the door and Elaina quickly ran back into her bed and dove underneath the covers.

"Come in." 

"Please excuse this maid for coming in," Lily said as she brought in a cart with water and a tray of snacks. 

She wheeled the cart into the room and brought it beside the bed. "The cooks were worried that you were not able to eat lunch, so they had me bring some food over in case you were hungry."

"That was very nice of them, please convey my thanks to them, Lily."

"Of course, Little Miss." Lily brought out a bed tray from underneath the cart and placed it gently on Elaina's lap. She placed a plate in front of her before loading on little finger sandwiches, fresh fruit, and a fresh cup of water. 

"Please eat up and enjoy your meal."

"Thank you, Lily. Do you know where my parents are?"

"Master and Madam are currently in a meeting. They have been informed about what happened to you and will come by to see you as soon as they can."

"I hope they won't take too long."

"I'm sure they'll be here before you finish your meal. Little Miss, please make sure to finish all the food, I must finish my duties. I will come back in 2 hours, please continue staying on the bed until I come back," Lily said to me before bowing and exiting the room once again.

I guess it's a waiting game until I see my new parents and figure out what I want to do in this life.

Elaina only knew how to do one thing: make money. Due to a previous trauma, she lived her life with the sole focus of making as much money as she could with the art that she designed. From awe-inspiring paintings to intricate and ornate jewelry to beautifully handcrafted teapots, she did it all. 

By the time she was 30, she had saved up quite a nest for herself. It wasn't enough, however, and so Elaina kept on working every day to build it up even more. It took one fateful day for her entire life to change. 

Aerus is an empire unlike anything on Earth. It lives in a different world where magic runs rampant and free and people are not divided by the color of their skin; instead it's by how much magic potential one holds.

What do you mean I have magic now? I'm just an above average magician? That's okay, I can make money using art. 

What do you mean the kid I saved is the son of the emperor? I just wanted to live my life peacefully making money! I don't want to be an empress!

In the following weeks the popularity of Kraton's Burrow shot up, this could first be traced back to numerous parties being curious at how a certain 40-man party got massacred, however after the first week, many players found out that this dungeon was a very good grinding point! Why? because there was less people in the dungeon so more monsters would be attracted to single group, they would no longer have to wait for two or three goblins to respawn after being slain as the monsters in Kraton's dungeon seemed to come in waves. Even after the first few weeks, the total amount of players in this dungeon at any one time was still much less than the other dungeons in Florid Boulevard, some parties had even claimed ownership of certain areas and forced others to bid money to buy or rent the area.
Naturally, with more players flocking this dungeon, there was also a rise in the frequency of players challenging Kraton. Every day Kraton would end up half depressed and half delighted. Most of the encounters with the parties led to Kraton being slaughtered, however every now and then there would be a weaker party. In percentage, Kraton got killed without taking a life around 70% of the time, however in numbers, Kraton's daily kill count had increased by double.
Time passed and Kraton had been mercilessly killed time after time, nonetheless as the sun rose up Kraton would remain gleeful, even looking more enthusiastic than the day before. Before long a month had passed and Kraton was now halfway through level 7, of course during battles he limited himself to appear as a level 4 with a health mutation (there was no way to limit his maximum health), all of the players never questioned Kraton's level as even though he had a lot more health than a standard boss of the sm level, his attacks were still incredibly week and slow! All the extra experience the players gained was passed of as killing a monster with a beneficial mutation or trait.
On the rare occassion, Kraton would pick up spoils of war: armour, weapons, minerals. Although low quality, every single piece was kept and stored by his 'bed'. He planned to somehow forge or melt the scrap metal into something useful for him, however nothing worth the effort came to his mind, therefore the pile was already the size of a small tree. Sometimes, he would grap a piece of metal and melt it around his breaking mace to crudely repair it, however he never once attempted to craft a new weapon. He just lacked the necessary knowledge for it.
Currently, his core knowledge had reached 123 points, it was extremely hard to gain any points of knowledge with players much lower levelled them him, therefore his intelligence remained stagnant for some time. 80 points was regarded as a new secondary schooler, whilst 200 points was seen as having the equal intelligence as someone who had finished their GCSE's [1]. And then 400 points was regarded similar to someone joining a university, and 800 as someone who recieved all their qualifications with ease.
Each major milestone in knowledge was double of the previous milestone, not only would it be harder to progress the the next milestone by facing against equally levelled opponents, it would eventually be near impossible to gain any extra knowledge through level-differences at higher levels. This was due to a single level difference between a level 100 and a level 101, made up the whole world. This made sense because the experience required to level up from level 100 to level 101, was so much more than the experience for a level 1 to 2. After countless advancements in society, only the richest players had had reached 1600 Knowledge points, this was all due to the invention; and the whopping price, of knowledge essence. A small vial of of the essence costs 1 billion gold coins, of course, one could easily collect the resources needed to make one in mineral rich mines and dungeons, however the whole alchemy process was tedious and time-consuming, one that only masters with unlimited patience could handle.
Kraton was in a pinch, his plan of restraining his power capabilities came with drawbacks that he did not calculate. With the negative level difference, gaining knowledge points was like finding a small nugget of gold within a whole mine of fool's gold. It was much worse than a needle in a hay stack because of all the anticipation and then depression once coming out with worthless rocks.
Kraton resolved to continue limiting himself until after the Novice Boss gathering. That way, he could make it seem like he sky-rocketed his power straight after the conference, as only then would other high-ranking monsters know about him and watch him more closely than before.
2 months...
1 month...
With two days until the new year Kraton had only just reached level 9. Two months to gain one and a half levels, this certainly slow progress however it would all be worth it in a few more days. Maybe some high level bosses may even become a mentor, or just give out some helpful pointers. No matter how big or small the help was, Kraton would definately take advantage of it. He only had to impress them first.
That night, the hairy figure of Kraton tossed and turned on top of his rock bed, at one point he rolled right into the 'massive' pile of scrap, sitting up and cursing harshly his eyes were bloodshot and dark, heavy bags hung underneath his eyes. His body was exhausted fatigued, yet his mind was clear and sharp as daylight. There was still two more days and another night before the gathering, yet he could not sleep at all! perhaps he had strained himself too much in the past few months, regulating his strength must have taken a heavy toll on his willpower, but that did not make sense! If that were the case, his mind should be empty and drained, maybe he really was too excited...
As soon as he felt his mind drift away into a slumber, a sudden noise rang out from not that far away.
*SCREEEAL*
When Kraton snapped his eyes open, the glowing stones by the wall were already unilluminated, this showed that it was no longer night, but daytime. Feeling that he had been robbed of his sleep, he prepared to punish the perpetrator until they could no longer appear in public, he would shame them as a weakling just like he was.

Looking at the surrounding, he nods. Alex had chosen the fountain of the school had made for the servant to do the laundry. Being a completely paved area, he wouldn't have to fear accidentally burning the ground.
With a rapid transmutation, the paved area rose from the ground, taking the shape of a smithing hearth without coals. On the side of the fountain, he made a little cooling tank. Taking the different materials out, he purified the coals, leaving a pile of powdered carbon while the rest was transmuted in a small diamond tank.
With some of the iron, he purified it as much as he can and form an anvil, pliers, a hammer, and a stirring diamond rod. Taking the iron, he put it in the tank before taking a deep breath.
Feeling his lungs fill, he delves deep until he could feel something stir, taking a hold of it, he breathed out, basking the iron in pure bluish-white flame. Taking great care as to only heating the diamond and not the stone, the iron rapidly bubble inside, completely melted.
Raising again the temperature, most of the impurities in the metal were completely burned. Taking the pliers, he partially immerses the diamond tank in the filled cooling tank, rapidly lowering the heat of the molten metal into a more solid form.
Done, he upside the tank, letting the chunk of still red iron fall on the anvil. securing the ingot, he starts to hammer it with a large and powerful strike. The steady striking sounds ring in the surroundings as the last of the impurities were chassed out of the smaller ingot.

This was something Alex has notice, while his transmutation skill was a great help, his creation has always lacked something as if the metal was dead. It wasn't until he spoke with one of the Goibinu Familia smiths that he learns that without real work, his creation will always lack something.
With the well of knowledge he had from the Harry Potter world, smithing was but a simple thing for him, even if he never practice before, the sheer numbers of weapons he had absorbed and analyze had left him enough to create his own style.

Letting the iron cool on the side, he repeats the same action with the chromium, copper, silver, and gold. While his amount of raw materials has diminished, he was now the only owner of the purest metal smithed of this world.
Weighting the ingot of iron and chromium and powdered carbon, he put 15% of chromium and 3% of carbon for the iron weight, aside. Those were the component of goblin steel from his native world but since he didn't have access to dragon fire, he would use his own to forge the magic metal.
Putting the cooled chromium back in the tank, he slowly rises the temperature, melting the solid into molasse before adding the iron. With it, a higher melting point than iron, the temperature of the chromium easily meld the added metal.
Before starting to mix both into a homogenous form, he adds the powdered carbon, raise the temperature while stirring with the diamond rod. Taking a more fluid form, the two metals and elements slowly mix into a perfect unique form.
Again, he partially cools the ingot before letting it fall on the anvil. Coating his and in fire and growing claws, he lightly touches the light red/bright yellow metal. Closing his eye, he pushes his magic in the block while activating his transmutation powers.

If one were to stand on his side, he would see that the previous unique block was dividing into two long blades and a plethora of smaller blades. While the metal was still keeping its previous colors, their form slowly changes from mere blocks to more stylized ones, shaping like proper blades.
It didn't take long for Alex to give them a similar shape that the other pair he had created, doing the same for the throwing knives, without the crystals.
Their shapes done, the still-hot pieces of metal were immediately plunged in the cooling tank. Once the steam clear, he takes out the cold blades from the water., transmuting the surrounding back to its original shape.
The previous grey of the metal has completely vanished, leaving the place to a clear sky bluish-white, the same color of his fire. Even by just holding them in his hand, he could feel magic freely run into the blade.
Satisfied with the result, he takes the small pencil he made of the same metal and diamond and channel some magic in. The rune inscribes in the metal core lit up, turning the tip to a clear red, heated just enough before it turns from solid to liquid, and start to inscribe runes on the blades.
Being the first time he works with his newly created Evans steel, he didn't want to overwhelm the metal and risk to break it.

The firsts clusters added on the blades were security ones, no one others that those from his blood would be able to wield them. He had an unbreakable and sharpening one too before applying the same that was on the Gryffindor blade. While he doubts he would come again against something as corrosive as the basilisk venom, it didn't hurt to be prepared.
The throwing knives were given the same runes as the previous one, and smalls shard of gems were imbedded in the hilt to feed on his magic to power them, no longer will he count on external factor do power his weapons.
Taking the sturdiest wood he had in his storage, he quickly creates the handle for both long knives, before storing them all in his storage has he had wet to came with leather to create a sheath for them.
Cleaning his temporary workplace, he returns to Kirche's room to create a real wooden bed frame after vanishing the conjured one. Taking old mattresses, he deconstructs them, keeping the still good part, to create a new one, followed by brand new bedsheets.
He does the same from Kirche when he sees that he could give her a better night's comfort.
Still keeping in mind the measure for her bra, he shamelessly goes through her underwear, creating brand new bras one after others in different forms and added enchantment for comfort and added security.
Returning to Siesta's new room, he creates and enchanted window to given it natural light, even if the wall would have given in the bathroom. He creates a small tub for her to take a bath and a sink on the side, all connected to the school water system. He finishes with a wardrobe and a small dressing table with a mirror for her.
Knowing she would throw a fit seeing that he give a servant that much, he enlarges Kirche's bathroom, and tub, creates a larger wardrobe before creating clothes for her.

When the two girls return from the diner, Kirche being served by Siesta personally, they froze for a second in the new room. The previous standard-size room has doubled in volume, the wardrobe and dressing table were larger and with richer relief engraved in and an empty shelf had made its way in the room. The bed had also received an update and would easily house five people in.
A comfy closed basket for flame has replaced his cave-like kennel. Seeing his new house, Flame made his way in quickly before releasing a small growl of contentment when he feels the heated coal-like device under him giving a pleasant heat.
It was at this moment that Alex exit the room that he created.
"Ah, Siesta, good timing, came, tell me what you think about your new room."
The two turn their head to him, before making their way in the other room as Alex opened the door for them to came in. The room had the size of the previous one of Kirche, the same size that any other noble kid in the school. Kirche was sure that more than one would throw a fit if they know it.
They were both surprised to see that this room too had natural light even if it wasn't linked to the exterior. They could see a bed; who was a little smaller than the one Kirche's had first, but still enough even for two-person. A wardrobe with the same coat of arms that one on her uniform, and small dressing table on the right side of the room.
A partition was separating the back left corner of the room when they look at it, they so a bathtub enough for a single person and a sink with two wooden shelves on the side for toiletry.
The leftover corner had a little kitchen and pantry already stocked and a little table. In simple terms, she had now a little flat for herself.

"Since Kirche says that she didn't mind sharing, I will sleep in her bed, this room is for you, Siesta, you won't have to go down to the kitchen to prepare our breakfast, I will give you some recipes for you to made, alright?"
The poor girl was completely overwhelmed by all of this, even the best tavern she knows hadn't that much luxury.
"Isn't a little bit too much? I mean, I'm sure not even the inn in the capital could compete with that." Says the shaking girl.
"She right darling, even some small-time noble live in less luxury than this!"
"Nonsense, it the very least by my standard, if she is to be my maid, I can't let her life condition reflect badly on me! Come, sit, we need to go through your contract to work for me."
Still badly shaken by the news that this would be her room, for the time being, she sits, facing Alex. Unwanting to be lead over by the maid, Kirche plop in his lap, smiling widely when he says nothing but warm an arm around her waist, securing her.

"Do you know how to write or/and read Siesta?" Seeing the maid shake her head negatively, he nodded. "I was thinking so, this area is rather backward when it came to general education. Do you know someone you can trust that can?"
"Marteau-san should, why?"
"Because I want you to go to him after I tell you the content of the contract, even if you trust me, I want you to always make sure that you verify every document concerning yourself, it would be easy to sell yourself without you knowing if you unable to read the document but trust the other party."
She could only nod dumbly, never before had she think of such possibility, but she was happy that her new master cares so much for her wellbeing.
"Now, as I say, this." Showing the room with a backhand motion. " Is the minimum standard that I will provide you. This will always include a private room and bathroom. It only because of a lack of space that I give you a personal kitchen, otherwise you would be to take care of the house one.
You will be given five uniforms, those are not your propriety but the one from my house. If one day you want to quit my service, you are expected to return them."
Until then she nods, the terms were somewhat similar to those of the school, lees the private luxurious room.
"You will be given a monthly pay of 12 ecus per month. An allowance will also be discussed at the further date for the miscellaneous purchase you will need to do for groceries and the like.
You will prepare breakfast every morning for me and Kirche, the other two meals will be eaten at the school so you won't have to bother yourself with them, other than some rare time. You will be averted if you need to prepare one.
We will let you take care of the laundry and the cleaning of the room. Others that you are free to pass your free time as you like.
Concerning relation, as long as it won't impede your work, you are free to live an amorous relation if you found someone."

She was starting to get dizzy. Never had she heard of such advantageous employment, she was given a private room and bathroom, light work, free time, and an unrestricted relation possibility with even higher pay than the school!
Even Kirche was shocked by how much lax he was with this contract, more than one would have sent her back with the other servants, lower her pay, restrict her freedom and even force her in their bed! She once again thank the Founder to have been sent such a perfect man.
But, for their greatest shock, he hadn't finished.
"As you are my charge now, I want you to come to me for any griefs you had, more so if it came to noble, you are mine, and it's my duty to see at your security. I will also need you to do something for me, I will surely shameful for you, but it needs to be done."
She became puzzled at that, what could be shameful for her that he was a little recalcitrant to speak of it? After a few seconds, she decides that it wouldn't matter, he had already done so much for her that she will do everything he needs, if it really that shameful for her, she will still do it, it was the least she could do after he had done for her.
"What do you need me to do, Master?"
"I need you to disrobe, I have a gift for your coming in my service, but I need to create it first. Kirche can be present if you're more comfortable with it."
On this, she sees him rise from his chair, leaving Kirche to take is place, before exiting the room. Once the both where alone, the black-haired maid, ask her master's lover if she knows what he was meaning.

"That much?!" She shouts. "I can't understand why they cost that much, even the pantie in town are too much, but this..." As a commoner girl, underwear was a luxury she had never been able to afford, but now, her master wants to gift her some he specially made for her!
This could be the way to his heart, even if he had a lover, its well knows that nobles take few mistresses, and as a personal maid she will be constantly at his side, it wouldn't take too much for her to entice her master to share some passionated moment.
On the other side of the table, Kirche knows what she was thinking, seeing her silly smile and the small trickle of blood running from her nose.
'Your silly girl if only you know, you were already Alex propriety the moment you were given to him, their no way back and you will soon or later pass between his hand, willingly or not.'
Once she came back from her fantasy, she made her way to the partition and take off her maid outfit from the school. As she didn't own any underwear, she was soon nude, asking for Kirche to call for Alex as she was still behind it.

When power far above you decide that they want to wrench the canon, by bringing you in the game, sometimes the wisest thing to do it just to tag along and just try to make this encounter end the most rapidly possible.

who knows, maybe something great will come out of it? After all, what could be worst than being taken out without your consent out of your world, only to be thrown in the darkness?

Libra always looked tired, but when she saw Kuro, she looked like she became especially strained. The little white hare munched on a verde straw as she glared at it from atop my bed. When the hare went for a second straw, she pouted even further. "You came back with a monster. And of all the monsters you could find, you chose a rabbit. How and why has this happened?"

I shrugged as I rubbed Kuro behind his ears. The hare didn't show me any attention as he continued eating his meal. "I met him while hunting in the woods. Is that a problem?"

"There are so many problems!" Libra responded, showing a surprising amount of energy with her reply. "That's not a common pet. It's a monster. Monsters don't follow the laws applied to standard animals. They gain Exp and level up like humans. Even worse, they can gain Exp in multiple different ways. Eating is one of those ways. They don't get full like normal creatures - instead, they just keep eating and growing stronger. A small group of monsters could devour an entire city if not properly regulated. Also, monsters can gain Exp by destroying terrain, and can change their form as they grow. Some of them go berserk and destroy entire cities. There are legends about dragons that reached the size of continents. They were so large, just a small movement caused volcanoes to erupt and entire civilizations to be wiped out. And now you're raising one as a pet!"

I looked at the small tuft of fur that was now chewing through my herb collection, and tried to imagine a hare the size of a continent. I chuckled as I imagined a giant puffball enveloping the sky. "It's fine, I'll take good care of him. Kuro, stop eating my plants."

The hare paused, its ears twitching as it looked up at me. I felt like a parent scolding a child for being childish. However, after a moment Kuro slinked over to my bed, sniffing up at Libra with interest.

"Keep him away from me!" Libra warned me. "If a monster were to consume me, it would herald the end of the world!"

I wasn't sure how true that was. Best I could tell, the demi-goddess didn't seam all that powerful. She was more like a pencil-pusher than some monster powerup, but best to play it safe. "Kuro, no matter what, don't harm the demi-goddess. She's a friend."

The hare lowered its head, the small black dot that made up its nose twitching in what I interpreted to be frustration. How much intellect did this creature have, anyway? He seemed pretty willing to follow my orders, at least. We'd have to test his intelligence another time. I looked over his appraisal screen with interest.

Level 1 and already stronger than me? I guess it was a racial trait. Boxing hares seemed to be astute jumpers and strong hitters. I'd have to look into skills to teach him, though those inherited skills were intriguing. [Venomous Bite] and [Resounding Kick] sounded more like traits than skills - perhaps they were optional whenever he did an attack. I wonder if he could be used as a combat pet?

After a while, I went downstairs to eat dinner and plan my next move. I had spent seven whole days in this town, and I was starting to get a hang of my abilities. High on the to-do list were getting armor, and continuing my craft skills. I needed a steady income, and I wanted a larger list of herbs to concoct potions and poisons with. I also needed a more permanent base of operations. I only had 3 days left of living at the inn until I had to either pay for a longer stay or find somewhere else to go. While money was no issue right now, the resources of this town were already depleting from my demands.

Also, the room was getting a bit cramped. Now I had a monster hare staying with me, not to mention a demi-goddess that lounged in my bed. I still needed a better setup than the inn could provide. Not to mention, I kept feeling Dahlia and Ailia watching me whenever I was in public. The mother and daughter were charming, but I felt restricted by their meddling. How does a level 1 explain they've got needles and paralytic poison to face the dangers around them? How would I explain my tremendous resistance abilities? It was best just not telling them.

And so, on my eighth day, I spent the day looking for a map of the area, which I managed to get from a shady trader near the edge of the stalls. I also managed to get some dried fruits and fish that would last me a few days at least. The majority I threw into the pack I had gotten on my first day browsing the stalls, but I did take the time to try a piece to know what kind of food I was getting into. It was basic, tasteless, and frankly a bit hard to swallow, but it worked as a ration. I also invested in a canteen and some basic fire-starting tools. Finally, I asked around for a cart that travelled from town to the nearby big city. Apparently there was one that ran every other day. The journey itself would take about half a day.

After I confirmed the information, I returned to the inn and was greeted by a rousing chorus from the bar patrons. It was just after sundown, and several of them had taken up a drinking tune. Leading them was Ailia, who also had a mug in hand. Despite her high level of [Alcohol Tolerance], she was also a bit rosy in her cheeks, and I could see her husband keeping the bar in order behind her. The song itself was something bout sailing and mermaids, which I had never heard before. The smiling faces made me feel rather cheerful, and the moment Ailia spotted me I realized I had no chance of going up to my room right away.

"Barro! Get over here and have a drink! Tonight's cause for celebration!"

I had a mug of sour smelling ale shoved in my hand and was given a spot at the bar. I sipped it with no intention of getting drunk. The taste wasn't as off-putting as the smell implied, but there was a distinct burning aftertaste I couldn't get rid of.

Immediately the intoxicating atmosphere lost its sway, and the alcohol had suddenly lost its meaning. I mean, I wasn't the drinking sort to begin with, but knowing you basically can't get drunk took all the fun out of it. Still, I pretended to drink whenever I felt Ailia's eyes on me.

"What are we celebrating?" I asked her as the song died down.

"It's little-ol-me's birthday!" she announced, her free hand gesticulating wildly. "And that means its also our anniversary, and the day we established this fine inn," she added, poking her husband with an elbow. "I don't like to remember dates, so we got married and opened this inn the same day! It's been twenty happy years now!"

A few bar patrons cheered along with her, and I felt a smile creeping up on my lips. This woman was strangely charismatic, though I sensed she was pretending to be more drunk than she actually was. Probably an act to make the bar a little more cheery. "Well congratulations!" I told her. Fishing into my magical coin purse, I brought out a single gold coin. "Here, drinks are on me for the night!"

The entire inn went silent, and I saw Ailia's eyes widen. She reached down and picked up the gold coin gingerly, as if it would turn to dust and fall out of her fingers. When the candlelight hit the reflective surface, a few people shifted uncomfortably. I felt a shudder go down my spine involuntarily, as the entire atmosphere paused to look at that single gold coin.

And then Ailia smiled. The coin disappeared under her counter in a heartbeat, and out came a tankard. Her husband appeared next to her with a small barrel, as if this was a pre-ordained moment. "You heard him boys! Drinks are free tonight! Courtesy of Barro!"

The barrel was tapped, and dark brown beer flowed into the tankard. Cheering erupted around me, and Ailia pushed the large mug towards me. "If I didn't know better, I'd say that gold coin was proof you were a noble or something," she said to me in an almost whisper. "But, I know better. Drink up. We need to get you and me even."

"Even for what?" I asked, taking a sip from the tankard.

"For the drinking competition you and I are going to have," Ailia explained, lifting the bottom of the tankard a little higher, making me chug the contents. "You and me are going to drink til the sun comes up!"

There are many legends that were born that night. One such legend was about the drinking contest between an unknown traveler and the owner of the Sleeping Cow Inn. While it went on from night into morning, nobody was sober enough to recall the official winner. However, whenever someone asked Ailia, they only got a blush as a reply, or a fist to the face depending on her mood. And the traveler? He disappeared a couple days later. Some people say he was a fierce fighter with scars along his body. Others say it was actually a woman, some drunk monk from another part of the world. However, the most unbelievable tales insist it was a small, unassuming man, who's level was all only 1.
