It was the moment that soul was born—modified blank divine power was used to rewrite the principles of the world, creating matter and energy that could not have originally existed in the world, and then using it as the base to transform the world.
It was an irreversible process, for the moment that soul appeared would have meant that all of Stellaris had changed. Unlike the other realms of the Multiverse, the process of thought and imagination of all intelligent life in Stellaris would have built actual energy known as Psi, firmly supported by soul.
Such was the relationship between soul and Psi. They were modified primeval divine powers, yet not derived from those powers themselves—it was akin to standing on the shoulders of giants while building them a firmer foundation.
This information regarding Initial Psi Construct was transferred to Joshua.
It must be mentioned that the Clusters—later known as the Creators—had certainly labored to create soul and Psi. In order to allow the self to be independent from flesh and through forcefully gifting the power of imagination and thought, the basis of self in beings in possession of souls was no longer their body, but thought and imagination instead. Anything from flesh, machine, to soul could have embodied that consciousness.
They had completely altered and resolved a philosophical issue.
Joshua took in all that information, from the earliest Cluster experimentation to the point when the genius scientist completed a soul, hence truly accomplishing the existence of soul as a substance. He sharply noticed that the genius's name was ( ) as well, a complete blankness that made evident he was to eventually become the Wise One of Psi.
He was neither the first to study Psi, nor was he the first to make a breakthrough in the hurdle. Countless scholars and researchers before him had sacrificed everything, just as Clusters had applied and probed divine power and yearned infinitely for soul—he was indeed a genius like no other, yet without similar geniuses who had paid the price of incorporating self into mechanical forms in order to study the essence of divine power, without generations of pioneers who had sacrificed their blood, hope would not have came to him either.
Joshua could thus hear those faint words as the Initial Psi Construct was about to conclude:
[No accomplishment belongs to one person, nor a single race alone. Soul and Psi have been destined to be shared over the Multiverse, and as compared to self-admiration in some desolate corner, I would rather prefer to have blooming flowers as far as the eye can see.]
"A kind and generous Wise One," Joshua said, having clearly memorized every tiny detail of the Initial Psi Construct. Psi was certainly different then and now, with psionic battles of the past involving a person's soul to use and control a special shadow clone, unlike the present general psychokinesis and ability to materialize thoughts.
[Seconded: The Creators were indeed kind and generous. But as things progressed, they withheld vital information from us, although we can now deduce that they were avoiding the possibility of our world being prematurely noticed by Evil Gods, which was why they kept it from us, eventually migrating away. But we were still left behind.]
[Quietly: But we are fine with that.]
Joshua nodded in response to the Beacon of Perpetuity. Clearly, the Creators had ran into the Evil Gods as well as they began exploring the Void, and the Wise One of Psi was likely to have developed in the battles against them.
If that was the case, something appeared more interesting now: Joshua had previously believed that development of a brand-new Extraordinary ability would have made an entity a Wise One, but it now appeared not to be the case. The Creators' civilization had collectively created soul and Psi, and though the first Cluster to grow a soul and Psi had indeed ascended as a Wise One, he had not abruptly become powerful at the time, but was instead curious like a mortal who had just obtained superpowers.
It proved another thing as well: that he had the causality backwards.
It was not that a new Extraordinary ability that would spread over the Multiverse would have made a person a powerful Wise One, but it was that the powerful Wise One could have spread that power over the Multiverse with their own ability. That had been the case for the Sage too, if one thought about it carefully—he had founded the Holy Light prior to being a Wise One, but had only become one after his battle against the Evil God of Fertility.
Though there ultimately might not have been a good ending, they had definitely bought time for civilization.
As things became clear as to how one became a Wise One and developed brand-new Extraordinary powers, a thought crossed Joshua's mind—he was grateful for the selfless exchange with the Beacon of Perpetuity, for without it, he may not have surpassed that hurdle by himself, unless he was able to spend millennia laboring away.
"You have completely answered my question, Beacon of Perpetuity. I shall now carry out my duty and aid you in clearing Chaos from this world."
In dark vacuum, the light over Joshua's skin throbbed, with visible golden-red patterns spreading over the silver world. It was the warrior warming-up, the prelude before he would fight at full power. "But before that, I still have a little query… do you know how the Creators were destroyed?"
[Answer: It happened in an instant. I had sensed a great ripple quaking the Multiverse that emanated from faraway Void, and at the time, there were still Creators in Stellaris unaware of the Chaos.]
[Puzzled: But in that instant, all Creators broke apart—completely.]
Joshua was aware that the Clusters were the Creators, and even if they should create souls to be imbued within machine bodies, their physical constitution down to their soul were still Clusters… in other words, individuals assembled from isopods.
Therefore, the corresponding image appeared in the warrior's mind at the words 'broke apart'—perfectly verified by what the Beacon of Perpetuity soon revealed.
[Mourning: The brain individuals of the Creators were completely destroyed.]
While the Beacon of Perpetuity's outer shell transmitted the message, a silver-blue shade resembling the milky way manifested into tiny, cockroach-like shadows.
[Sigh: Every thinking construct of the Creators was destroyed with rebirth impossible, leaving only mobility constructs… The Creators were assuredly destroyed.]
"The Psybugs…"
The light around Joshua's dimmed for a second. He could definitely verify that the silhouette of those insects were certainly the curious lifeforms called the Psybugs scattered around the Multiverse. Those special lifeforms possessing meme aspects had been an important observation subject to Joshua, and the Beacon of Perpetuity had then told him it was the husk of the Creators who had founded Psi.
Another question answered.
After calming down for a moment, Joshua laughed softly, "As I've thought… The remains of war we live upon was formed in the battle aftermath between our forerunners and the Chaos. The stars we lived in are debris, and the life and natural phenomena seen everywhere are all corpses and fallout."
"What a crazy Multiverse…"
Truly interesting.
Joshua did not continue, but looked up instead. The spherical silver world began to ripple, twisting the dimensions while incomparable mass decompressed—with the silver world as a starting point, silver veins appeared within vacuum, forming the image of a four-armed giant.
Then, Joshua raised his right hand, and a pure-white bundle that emanated seven colors appeared in his palm.
Without a word, he simply pushed the bundle to the Beacon of Perpetuity which accepted it.
[Shock: Is that… a compound of Psi and a new Extraordinary power?]
[Verification: Yes, a wondrous application… using emotion to mobilize Psi, and thus using Psi to change matter and energy. It appears several times more complex, but its efficiency is unexpectedly high…]
[Analysis: Psi combined with lifeforce, triggered by the emotion of intelligent life. Though different, it results in same outcome as activating Psi through imagination and though… so that's it.]
[Puzzled: Still, isn't that unstable? I may be an artificial but I have emotions too. It's a type of power that slows down the mind, but allowing instead bursts of resolve and determination—I have no lack of calm since it may be natural, but would ordinary intelligent creatures truly not be corrupted when they burst out in emotion? That does not fit the Order we require… we may be allies against the Chaos now, but in the future…]
"Stop thinking about the future." Joshua interrupted the Beacon of Perpetuity for the first time, having generally expected its reaction when he relayed his understanding about the power of emotion. It had indeed been thrilled and surprised, while also doubtful and unsettled as radical emotion was not of Order. It certainly was not aligned to Chaos, but to the unpredictable disorder from a thousand different faces instead.
A resolved heart could bring firm Order, just as an unsettled heart would stir Chaos.
But was it the time to consider such matters?
"I noticed it once I reached Stellaris—do you not see it, Beacon of Perpetuity?"
Facing the silently whirling Psionic crystal, the four-armed giant raised his hand and pointed at the sky of stars around them, at the massive vortices which were accumulating psionic energies in the Psyweb that permeated the world. "This entire galaxy is raging against the forces of Chaos, lamenting, screaming, and hating them down to the bone," he said with a low voice. "Billions of intelligent life and countless perished souls have wanted to destroy the Chaos, with their Psi and lives converging here."
"You are the Life Preservation Sequence left by the Creators. You and your companions are the most powerful psionics behind the Wise One of Psi, or at least one of them. Even without the knowledge of the emotional power I have given you, you would be able to tell how unstable those psionic vortices are, and that forcefully repression only leads to self-destruction."
"The galaxy prays for a quick end to pain, hate, and misery. Al life is yearning for destruction, death, and an end to their enemies."
And I've answered the prayers, and have hence come.
With that, Joshua asked, "Beacon of Perpetuity—Third Curtain, incarnation of Psyweb. Why do you not use that power? Why have your friends, the First and Second Curtains, not appeared until now?"
The Beacon of Perpetuity did not remain silent.
[Answer: The First and Second Curtain cannot leave. They are responsible for the Psyweb circulation.]
[Answer: Psionic vortices are unstable. If use wrongly, we could destroy ourselves before the Chaos destroys us.]
[Answer: The core principle of the Life Preservation Sequence is to ensure continuity of life. We would not risk self-destruction to use a power that may not destroy our foes.]
[Affirmation: We cannot do that now.]
Joshua nodded slightly.
They were handling things right. Without better application, it was unwise to recklessly trigger a bomb, not to mention the fact that most of their enemies that had appeared so far were merely spawns that were not worth the effort. If an Evil God had come instead, the Triple Curtain would certainly not have hesitated to use that power.
But now, things were different—because he was here.
There was a new option for everything.
"Don't worry, Beacon of Perpetuity. Tell your friends that they do not have to repress that power."
The purpose of champions was to forcefully add a correct answer 'D', to the original incorrect choices of 'A', 'B', and 'C'.
The purpose of champions was to drive the road roller and straighten a path while others were left ruminating how they should cross a complex maze.
Either way, why think along the rules set by others? There were as many solutions as there were stars, and there was no reason for things to be done a certain way.
Four bundle of flames appeared in the center of Joshua's four hands.
Scarlet light, representing courage, rage, hate, and ruin.
Golden light, representing calm, volatility, greed, and wit.
Emerald Light, representing patience, endurance, tolerance, and passion.
Purple-blue, representing burning love, resolve, possessiveness, and indulgence.
Four raging fires that burnt on the duality of emotion: one Order and one Chaos, one shelter and one destruction.
"Emotion is never singular, just like how it takes two to argue."
Standing profoundly amidst the stars, Joshua folded his four arms across his chest while four distinct flames circled the Giant God, stirring layers of swirls that dimensions bent to.
"And I can control them—a wise mind should control one's emotion and not the opposite. I believe that everyone can do so through training."
"However, I need you help, most powerful psionic of the present world and the entity which controls the Psyweb."
The warrior presented the Beacon of Perpetuity with another possibility.
Why hold back?
Set it ablaze!
Allow the vortex of emotion to burn in the galaxy of hate, igniting an inferno that could incinerate Chaos!
How can you burn the enemy if you cannot burn yourself? To be stingy with a little madness, could you establish an era like no other?
[Shock: Joshua van Radcliffe, you are truly a madman… you certainly hold an emotional mind, but it does not imply that your safety is ensured, much less for others…]
[Turning: But you have convinced us. You have presented a possibility.]
[Genuine creatures of wisdom never needed to act in absolute. Such were the Creators' words.]
"Alright!"
Without saying more, Joshua laughed heartily, extended and clenching all four fists. The four swirling flames thus instantly condensed into four bright fiery radiances, and at the center of the fire were four twinkling rings.
The scarlet Ring of Courage, the golden Ring of Wisdom, the green Ring of Perseverance, and the purple Ring of Resolve.
Four rings in the center of the blaze were calling forth the boundless emotions in the galaxy, glimmering with brightness like no other.
"It's time to change the world," he said.

Beyond the Void, it was a quadrant of emptiness, with no world shining in the silent and dark blankness, nor the radiance of other galaxies able to be seen… it was all enshrouded amidst dark world fragments, spheres covered in black dusts.
All was, or was progressing towards ruin.
However, a single realm whirled in the dark silence. It was huge beyond comparison and imagination, with a multitude of world fragments being drawn to it and forming a sturdy outer barrier.
It should have been rotating alone in the dead ruins of a Multiverse, until the end of time and the end of all things. And yet, in that dark Void, a blazing, radiant cluster of light approached it.
There was blazing brilliance, shining and dispelling all world fragments and ashes, its power disturbing the Void and causing rolling dimensional turbulences.
It eventually reached the colossal, ancient realm, and stopped slowly at the edge of its World Barrier. Then, it reached out, intent on hammering the Barrier. It was a massive tentacle that could have—or was entirely capable of—wrapping around a world, even enslaving a planetary system!
The radiant tentacle itself carried a translucent World Barrier, in turn containing a murky, swirling nebula of blackness. It welled with the power of Rot and Infection, while boundless Chaos reminiscent of Pestilence was bent on breaking into the other World Barrier.
And yet, those forces simply could not disperse the light of those tentacles, and Chaos was bound within the world… in turn, those tentacles could not puncture an opening into the massive World Barrier either, for when it made contact, the luminous tentacle rebounded from a power like no other, causing it to retract as if in pain.
But it soon drew out more tentacles, and within each of them were a single world, or indeed a dark galaxy bound.
Famine, Limbo, and Change… all distinct but Chaotic presence emanated, struggling, twirling, attacking, corrupting. Even so, it was all futile.
As the tentacles appeared, light parted ways, with the dazzling light of the bound Chaos gradually revealing its true form.
The presence resembling tentacles and engulfed by blinding radiance was thus revealed not to be actual tentacles, but instead tangled threads that resembled a net of silk. And the source of those threads and the great net that covered the world, which was pure white and far larger than a world?
It was a cocoon.

I wake up, grab my phone.  No new disasters.  Good enough.  I go back to sleep.

I wake up again, and drag my ass to the shower.  I stare at the hypno-clone.  What the hell, I fire it up.  I'm flooded with possible fuck-mates.  I watch them stream by, each profile up for mere moments before it's paired off.  

When we built the hypno-clone, most people thought it wouldn't work.  Not for technical reasons, they just thought there wouldn't be enough girls willing to fuck strangers on the internet.  Turns out there's plenty.  Safety and anonymity do wonders for the libido.  Also, being able to effortlessly change your appearance really levelled the social playing field.  It changed society more than immortality.  I scan a few more profiles.  Is that chick wearing prom dress?  I log in quickly and accept her invite.

She appears in my shower.  It is not a prom dress.  From the waist down she's half squid.  Like a mermaid, except half squid.  A mersquid.  Squidmaid?  She has tentacles.

This is not how I saw my morning going.  She's super happy.  Ahh, what the hell.  We make love.  It's more alarming than exciting, but it gets me there.  I return the favor.  I think.  I'm not sure what I'm supposed to rub.  I just rub everything.

We chat a bit as I wash my hair.  She's really nice.  I friend her.

I check the news over breakfast.  Everything's trending stable.  I head to my lab and pull up test data for my last hypno-trigger.  

A hypno-clone has three parts; VR contact lenses, haptoclone, and hypno-trigger.  

Virtual reality contact lenses provide the visuals.  They connect to the internet through your phone.  They replaced the 3D projectors that replaced virtual reality sunglasses.  They're super comfortable.  I've had mine in for months.  I forget I wear them.

The haptoclone provides virtual touching. It's an ultrasound projector that makes a weak force bubble where you touch a virtual image.  It's super cool, but the delicacy of the virtual surfaces can be a bummer.  You can make the feeling stronger by turning up the ultrasound, but it will bruise your fingers.  Or, your lady parts.  Depending on how your evening is going.

The hypno-trigger was my contribution to the project.  It's a post-hypnotic suggestion that makes bad graphics and barely touching a fun date.  It doesn't make the VR seem real, it lowers inhibitions until you don't care.  It's like the suspension of disbelief you get when you're sucked into a great movie.  But, for your lady parts.  I did all of this to bang a long-distance hottie.

My first hypno-trigger was a 20 minute Youtube video.  It was half guided meditation and half old school stage hypnotism.  I stared into the camera, and spoke softly about relaxation for 19 minutes.  In the last minute, I tried to plant a posthypnotic suggestion - when your lover touches you, it will feel wonderful.  If you want to cum, you may.

Only 5% of people were able to orgasm using my hypno-trigger and the ephemeral tickling of the haptoclone.  It was enough.  It's the all-time most watched video on Youtube.  I'm still tweaking it.  Nowadays, 32% of people can cum, and another 39% report loving it anyway.

We never really got paid for inventing the hypno-clone.  It's a household item, but rich and poor agree on stealing tech.  Such is life.  I made a little money off advertising and licensing.  It was enough for a downpayment on the club.  

I still make a hypno-trigger every week.  I feel like I'm helping people, in a small, weird, way.  I'm committed to making them work for everyone.  I also make a few bucks off requests.    

My last effort was the Surefoot Trigger.  Hypno-clones have safety features to stop users from masking danger.  So they can't put a virtual dance floor over a real life stairwell and boogie their way to oblivion.  Invariably, these safety features get turned off.  You can't play naked beach volleyball in grandma's guestroom without erasing a few walls.

The Surefoot Trigger taps your subconscious memories of your surroundings to subconsciously guide you around hidden objects.  It all happens in your subconscious.  Like blinking.  It doesn't work.

According to my data, everybody who tried it got hurt.  Fuck.  My help made everything worse.  I think I gave them faith in non-existent abilities.  Better erase this one.

Whelp, that project's shot.  On to the next one.     

I head down to the club.  The chill vibe is no more.  The club is full.  The work is intense.  The parties are epic.  Project Trouble is happening.

I grab a beer, look around.  Building a superintelligence is complicated.  We're still in the flailing around stage.  Eventually, the club will be a temple of quiet focus.  Now it's a clusterfuck.  There are dozens of workstations devoted to various parts of the project.  People wander from station to station, looking for meaning.  Big Iota waves me over to the prediction station.

"Did you come downstairs for pizza?" he asks.

"No."

Big Iota looks at Psi.  Psi bangs a few keys on a laptop.  Reads.  Looks at Big Iota.  Nods.

"Okay, that checks out."  says Big Iota. 

"Cool."  I back away.  I sit at the bar by Brian.

"What's going on over there?" I ask.

"Pizzabot." says Brian.  "It's an A.I. that predicts when you want pizza, then orders it in advance, so it gets delivered to you the moment before you decide you want it.  It's a test of the prediction algorithm we'll put in Troublebot.  Just simpler and less likely to lead to dead bodies if we fuck up."

"That sounds kinda responsible."

"Kinda.  They wanted to build the suicide predictor first, but we don't have training data yet."

"That sounds more like us." I say. "Does it work?"

"Well, we're selling a fuckload more pizza.  So, maybe?" says Brian.  "We could be stealing market share from other pizza joints because of our unique predictive delivery system.  Or, we could have found a flaw in the human psyche that allows us to fill our unsuspecting victims with baked cheese.  It's one or the other.  I've been meaning to figure out which, but I'm too busy making fucking pizza.  Speaking of which, here's yours."

He puts a small pizza in front of me.  It smells delicious.  I look over at Psi.  He nods.

"On the upside, we're making enough money off pizza, that we can soon start more dangerous experiments on random strangers."  says Brian.  

"Cool."  Fuck it, I'm eating it.

"I guess, but some of our other groups have run into ethical concerns." says Brian.  I reach for a beer off the bar.  "Don't touch that.  It's a opiate vaccine."

"What?"

"I found an opiate vaccine on the internet.  It's from, like, the 90's.  It trains your immune system to attack opioids before they fuck you up.  I brewed up a couple thousand doses for 10 bucks.  Way cheaper than drug testing kits."  

"Why's it in a beer?" I ask.  

"I don't like needles." says Brian.  

"Fair enough."  I say.  "Why's it on the bar?"

"I'm thinking of drinking it."  says Brian.  "Half the drugs that go through this bar get thrown out because they're laced with Fentanyl.  Imagine if we were immune to Fentanyl!"

"We could do twice as much drugs!"

"I was thinking we'd save a ton of money.  But, yeah, probably your thing."

"Let's do this up."  I say.

"Yeah, but what about Fresh Start?" asks Brian.  "If - fuck - when we need it, it's nice to have opiates to take the edge off.  That shit hurts.  The personality changes may be direct result of how much it hurts."

"Fuck.  Good point."

We stare at Pandora's Beer.

"This is why they can't even get junkies to take this shit." says Brian.  "Although, if we tweaked Pizzabot a little, I bet we could deliver it at the exact moment they'd be willing to take it."

"Sunday morning coming down." I say.

"We could probably charge them all their money.  If junkies had money."

We stare at Pandora's Beer.

"So, these are our ethical concerns?"  I ask.

"Fuck no.  We know what this drug does." says Brian.

"Are we making mystery drugs?" I ask.

"You should talk to the intervention group." says Brian.

"Yes, I should."  I point at Pandora's Beer.  "Drink that or put it away.  I don't like the way it's looking at me."

I stride over to the intervention group.  "Are you planning on drugging suicidal people?"

"No, but keep talking." says Orcette.  "You may be on to something."

"Will they be taking the drugs voluntarily?" asks Delta.  "I need to know for budgetary reasons."

"Yeah.  We have a dollar per intervention problem." says Zeta.  "Because there are 500,000 suicide attempts a year, every dollar we spend on an intervention costs us half a mill.  Unless we're dumping acid in the water tower, I don't see how we can afford drugging half a million people."

"Jesus.  Okay, the simplest intervention is passing a note.  What's it cost to get a stranger to read something?" asks Orcette.

"The fuck?" I say.  "How do we have a grand a week?"

"I got a job bitches!" says Omicron.

"The fuck you did."  I say.

"What can we do for 10 cents?" asks Orcette.

"We could have a drone pepper spray them." says Delta.

"That sounds like a crap plan."  says Isaiah.

Delta shrugs.  "Can't kill yourself if you can't see."

"What about Candy's hypnos?"  asks Isaiah.  "A couple million people watch them.  That puts us in direct communication with, like, 10 percent of suicide guys.  Suicide people.  You know."

"Yeah!"  says Zeta.  "Candy can just hypnotize them!  Make them not kill themselves."

I wince.  Rub my head.  "I don't think so guys.  My hypnos don't always work so good."

"Thioacetone!"  says Delta.

"Shut up, Delta."  says Isaiah.  "Ransomware!  We hack their profiles, change all the passwords, and don't give them back until they promise not to kill themselves."

"It's bullish.  Shows we care.  Maybe.  God, is that really our best idea?" asks Orcette.

IT'S REALLY HARD TO GET PEOPLE'S ATTENTION.  THERE'S A LOT OF UNSOLICITED COMMUNICATION OUT THERE.  WE'RE GOOD AT TUNING IT OUT.  says Command Line.

"Fuck it.  Let's just do Candy's plan.  Acid in the water tower.  Job done." says Omicron.

"I thought Candy's plan was free blowjobs." says Delta.

Omicron rubs his jaw.

I laugh.  "Is that the job you got?"

Omicron smiles.  "You wish.  Check it out."  He slides a form at me.  It has an envelope with some pills stapled to it.

I read.  "Optimal Job Experiment.  20 hours a week for $1000.  Subjects take the blue pill and answer questions on their phone for 2 hours.  Immediately afterwards, take the yellow pill and do whatever you want for for 2 hours.  Pills included.  Questions found at Optimal.job."  

I think.  "Is this a job or an experiment?"

"It's a job experiment." says Omicron.

"I think they are experimenting on your brain."  I say.

"Well I love drugs and hate my brain, so let's do this." says Omicron. 

"Are we this hard up for money?" I ask. 

"Maybe, how'd your last hypno go?" asks Omicron. 

"Fine.  When do you start?"  I ask.

"Tomorrow.  We're doing mushrooms and LARPing pantsless tonight."

"Fuck.  Is that tonight?  I forgot and put on pants.  That's 4 seconds I'm not getting back."  Everybody giggles and gets a little fuzzy.  "Did I already do the mushrooms?"  

I look across the club at Psi.  He looks up from his laptop, nods, looks back down.

"Shoot.  I better get ready."  I pull down my pants.  "I guess that's it.  No, I need a hat!"

"How do I look?" asks Omicron. 

"Majestic." I say.

"I was going for hairy, out of shape, elf dude with his dick hanging out." says Omicron.  

"You are nailing that.  I like the mustache curls.  They tie it all together" I say.

I grab a pixie hat, a 3 pound bow, and some arrows with sponges on the end.  Omicron passes me some red paint.  We usually play elvish scouts.

The club is near an experimental farm.  I will spend the next couple hours running through a cornfield, tripping balls, being chased by dick-waving orcs.  

Psychedelic pantsless LARPing is the pyrrhic victory of our harm reduction program.  It keeps me from drinking and smoking, and gets me some good exercise, but I can no longer watch Lord of The Rings without confusing emotions.

I suppose a healthier alternative would be to unravel the underlying causes of my sobriety aversion.  But, I don't watch Lord of The Rings that often. 

I run into the cornfield.

Tuesday, 27th September 1442
Both Heather and I had spent a solid three hours in the realm last night and Heather had managed to prepare the stickers for all of the products, including the blushers, eyeshadow, eyeliner, lipstick and makeup basic foundation powder as well.

Instead of 15 images per sheet of sticker paper, Heather had managed to squeeze 18 images. The image was a tad smaller but this does not stop Heather from producing rather eye-catching labels that were filled with vivid and live colours too.

The images were simple and all this could be searched through thousand of selection just through a simple keyword search and all Heather need to do was to get a single image and then add another text heading or maybe an image of fruit to indicate its scent or flavour.

Once she had done a series of 18 images on a single sticker paper, she showed it to me once she had printed a sample copy. Once I told her that it's fine, she hit a 50 printouts for all the types and varieties of all known scents and flavours she could think of based on the notes she had recorded in my journal.

For every sticker page that she had done on the project, she saved it so she would be able to bring it up again to continue printing them once the stickers ran out.

She then collected all the printouts that she had made from the printer and places it next to her as she waited for me to wake up from my nap in my seat. When I heard the notification for some of the porcelain wares, I was a bit startled from my nap and I looked up and saw Heather staring right at me.

"Are you done, darling? If you are, then we should be returning back. Leave the porcelain ware where it should be at this moment. I would be heading back here in 2 days time. Huuaarrgghh... My mind seems to be a little bit heavy right now. Come on dear, let's hold hands and return back to the real world."

That's the last thing I knew and I woke up sprawled on the floor of the study while Heather was preparing breakfast at the settee area with the twins sitting down at the area. I slowly rose up and was feeling stiff after falling asleep on the cold hard ground.

"Hey dear, I thought you would wake up somewhere in the afternoon. You are feeling alright now? You were babbling in your sleep so I dare not awake you but placed some pillow and a blanket instead. Come, join us for breakfast after you wash up."

Heather greeted me as I kissed my twins good morning and gave a kiss to Heather as well and a pinch to her ample buttocks. Heh, could never get too frisky enough in the mornings, don't you think so?

I had never felt so mentally tired before...! I yawned as I washed myself up, I yawned some more at the settee area and I yawned again when Heather had sorted all the stickers according to their categories. 

Damn... I was literally yawning myself in front of everyone and there's a presentation before 7 in the evening at the Macleod Coliseum later on. 

I checked the time and found that it was already after 7 in the morning and another 12 hours later I would be addressing the whole community of the achievements that the adventurers had performed towards the betterment of this town. 

"Just hope that there won't be any interference later today, dear. Could I rest some more after this and wake up again before lunchtime? My mental is soooo tired that it seemed to sap the energy off my body as well. Phew...! Going to the realm sure is tiring."

I lamented to Heather since I was doing double efforts since I was piggybacking Heather with me, everyone, we enter the realm. 

If I enter alone, it would be considered as a single trip, then piggybacking someone would be considered as two trips instead of one. So the other night we had entered the realm exactly 6 times...! 

"It's alright dear, you can have your rest after this. Last night I had given Michelle and Gwen the medals to be given to the Adventurers so they would be preparing the podium now as we speak."

"Take as much rest as possible and you enter the realm alone if possible, tomorrow, to clear all the crates of porcelain ware in the realm, would that be alright?"

" I will enter the realm with you if I find that there's a need. Other than that you can do the prints yourself, right?"

Heather knew that piggybacking her into my realm the other night was rather a taxing as I could feel some sort of strain or pressure every time.

 Right now the porcelain wares are ready, the stickers are ready and all it needs to do was to let Molly and her team paste the sticker labels and store them in the necessary open crates in the holding area.

 Once the products are ready to be produced, the crates would be taken out and be placed in the respective factories and production lines. 

In this way, Molly and her team of workers could be redeployed elsewhere to gain more experience. 

Once they had gained the necessary experience, Molly and her team would be line leaders while Molly would be around to supervise and at the same time assist Alicia to make those fine wares for distillation et cetera.

I walked over and kissed my twins and told them to be good since Daddy was feeling under the weather today and wanted to have some rest to recover back some rest today.

The twins looked rather worried and Heather asked what I would like to have for lunch and dinner and I replied that it had been some time since I've tasted the sweet and sour deep-fried pork chops with cucumber, tomatoes, pineapples with shallots and garlic as garnishing.

"Alright dear, I will make the one-dish meal today consisting of deep-fried breaded pork chops made into sweet and sour today, all right? I will get the domain helpers to mind the children and head to the grocery store to get the things we need. Rest well, my dear. Hope you would be able to recover after your second round of sleep."

Heather pushed me away from the settee and towards the bedroom where the domain helpers had already cleared away the pillows and sheets from the study room back to the bedroom.

The domain helpers can't help noticing the stack of sticker labels and from a single glance, they knew that somehow we had spent the night burning the midnight oil. I was seriously knocked out before dinner time and had slept through the whole night till the following day.

"Alright dear, I would be off to meditate and practise my breathing exercises to regain my strength for the mind. Love you, dear... Muah Muah Muah...!!"

I literally crawled to the bedroom and plopped down on the soft mattress and was soon snoring once again as my mind drifted off to a dreamless state. We would not want me to enter my meditative state by mistake and enter the realm, would we?

Heather had the twins minded by the domain helpers as she went to the grocery market to purchase some pork chops and some breading mix with all the necessary ingredients to make the sweet and sour gravy.

She also bought a few lemons that would be squeezed to give the extra sourness to the gravy. Red, green and yellow bell peppers were added to it to add colour and flavour to the rest of the vegetables. 

Soon, with the groceries, she went to the outdoor kitchen area to prepare the pork chops while the kitchen helpers helped to chop up all the vegetables after washing them. The chops, after being washed, breaded and deep-fried were set aside before she made the heavy gravy ready.

The heavy gravy was ready in 15 minutes and then it was poured over the deep-fried breaded pork chops and served on a fairly large serving platter.

The children were hungry since they had not given any kinds of morning snack so Heather decided to push the timing for lunch earlier than usual. She went over to the bedroom and found me still sprawled on the bed like a beached starfish.

"Hey dear, you feel much better now? Hope you had your power nap while I was busy preparing lunch. It is already half past 10 and close to eleven."

"Lunch is ready and served, do you want to eat together since our children are all waiting to have lunch together today."

I fluttered my eyelids open slightly and groaned because of the weariness I felt that coursed through my brain that controls all my motor skills. 

"Help me up dear, and get me out of these clothes. I'm going to conjure up my Psi Energy orbs and put them inside the vat in the bathroom. My goodness me, I had never felt so exhausted before in my whole life. The strain on my mind really knocks me out...! "

I requested as Heather helped to pull my clothes up as I staggered to the bathroom in my knickers. I hovered near the vat that had been imbued with heating pebbles by Priestess Farah to keep the water at a constant temperature as I rubbed my hands and closed my eyes. 

I could feel myself swaying and I knew that even conjuring the Psi Energy orbs also could spell trouble for myself.

Nevertheless, I forced myself to conjure up a set of 4 Psi Energy orbs and dropped them into the water. It was bright bluish in colour and when it hits the water, it disintegrated and seemed to slightly sizzle. 

There was a small stool inside the bathroom where I sat and I began to scoop the water from the vat. The moment the water hit my head and face, it throbbed and I could almost feel the heat that was coming off from the top of my head. The water hit the rest of my body and I quickly scooped the water and splash it all over to thoroughly wet it. 

I took a little bit of hair shampoo and lather it on my hair as I took my body soap and slowly lather it around my body as well. The moment the water had hit my body earlier, I could felt tingling sensations all over the body and its a bit prickly at the same time, yet soothing and felt like many tiny hands were massaging my body. 

My body felt slightly rejuvenated as I remembered how Ceres had mentioned to me to drop these Psi energy orbs into the distillers so that the healing and rejuvenating feeling could be shared with everyone who purchases our product. 

I also remembered the wild young man who was screaming and singing in the shower while my former self was sitting at the porch of the house. The young man told my former self how he felt when he used the body soap that was imbued with Psi energy during the shower even...! 

I thought to myself and concluded that the only products that would be used to imbue these Psi energy orbs would be the Hair shampoo, body soap and the facial and body scrub. It would be great to share this wonderful little nifty miracles to the rest of the consumers, don't you think so? 

I added more hair shampoo because we all had long hair and it would be nice to have it covered with this fine bubbles. Before this, we seldom wash our hair because we have to use lye and hot water to wash the sebum off the hair. 

The ritual of hair washing was like a huge process just to get it wet and clean...! 

Now with these fine hair shampoos, we could wash our hair nearly every day except when it's wintertime...! 

"Wooooo....! I feel much better already. Goodness me, luckily I remembered how to use the Psi Energy orbs or else I would feel dreadful for the entire whole day...!" I called out from the bathroom and Heather peeked inside after she opened the bathroom door slightly. 

"That's good to hear, darling. You do have some colour on your face. Besides, don't you feel cold to wet your whole hair like this in mid-autumn?" 

"Not really dear, in fact, if not for Farah I think we only shower during summertime. Hahaha. Let me rinse my hair off and then towel it down and we can have our lunch together." 

I replied but Heather held the scoop in her hand and she was the one who poured water over my body to wash off the bubbles and on my hair to wash away the suds as well. 

It didn't take long for me to complete my shower even though it is like a buffalo taking a dip in the river without much scrubbing at all...! 

Heather got me a towel and after I had done, I removed my knickers and wrapped the towel around my waist as I tiptoed to the bathroom where a set of fresh clothes were ready including my armour that was placed at the corner of the bed as well. 

"Hmm, shall I wear my armour today? But wait, there's an award ceremony later on and I think I would be best wearing this normal clothes first before we change to our best clothes to do the presentation of the medals to the adventurers." I thought to myself as I was about to reach for my set of armour. 

So instead, I towelled down myself properly so my wet hair would not be dripping water everywhere as I changed onto my day clothes, wore a few of the accessories on me and then went down to the dining area of the conference hall where our twins were waiting for me. 

The moment they saw me walking down the stairwell, they squealed in delight and waved at me to come over and gave them a big hug since they had held their arms out to me. 

I laughed as I hugged my children and kissed them on the foreheads and cheek as they all squirmed about in their highchairs since they could feel how cold my hands were.

I saw the sweet and sour gravy that had several huge pieces of deep-fried breaded pork chops and I can't help smack my lips together. "My dear children, you must be hungry, yes? Come, let's eat now. Mummy would feed Daddy while I will feed the both of you right?"

The children clapped their hands eagerly as I took a plate, scooped some rice, placed a whole piece of deep-fried breaded pork chop on it and then scooped some of the diced carrots, cucumber, pineapple, red, green and yellow ball peppers and I slowly tore off bits of the pork chop and handed the children to hold and eat themselves.

Of course, I made sure the bits of pork chop would be easily bitten and chewed by the children as I saw them nibbled on the pieces of meat while they hold them in a pincer kind of manner. 

Heather does not have the knack of feeding an adult like me with her fingers so she used a spoon instead to scoop the rice with some of the vegetables and tore off some meat before she stuffed them into my mouth. She may end up with bitten fingers if she used her fingers to feed me instead. 

My appetite was piqued when I was spoon-fed by Heather and the children watched me as I was having too much food in my mouth that I almost looked like a hamster...! 

The children laughed as they patted my face with their dainty hands as they too followed the way I 'stored' my food inside the mouth. The lunch today was good and I had more than enough rice and dishes today. 

The children too had their fill and had washed down their lunch with some warm banana flavoured milk before they nodded off in sleepiness. The domain helpers helped to bring the children to their beds after their faces and hands were cleaned up. 

"You feel much better now, dear? You can only enter the realm tomorrow evening okay? You really need your rest and recover as soon as possible." 

Heather pressed her hands into me as she leaned across my chest as she was quite worried but she doesn't really verbally say it. 

Through her actions only was she able to show how she really felt. I looked across the mantlepiece where our crowns were and saw that all the stickers that she had done were stacked and segregated nicely so each stack would be seen as a single product and not jumbled up as a single stack. 

I smiled as I praised her for being so systematic in her work as the domain helpers also can't help but admire the printouts and touch the lifelike vivid images that had been printed on the sticker papers.

A long time player of a Sci-Fi VRMMO was waiting anxiously for the new big update that was going to add countless new systems to explore and even rumored new game elements.

When the new update finally arrived though, disaster struck. After crash landing on a new world, what is with this fantasy setting? This is a Sci-Fi game! Wait… why can’t I log out? 

He felt like he was going crazy at school because he senses his new teammates at school attempting to watch his every move. Except for Raven, it was as if she understood what it was like being part of a dark prophecy so she just socialized with him like normal as can be. Zatanna felt compelled to hang out with him every chance she got. Miss Martian was tempted to read his mind but she didn't want to invade his privacy. Robin put a tracker on Alejandro. The beast boy wanted to tell jokes all the time and Aqualad went to the ocean to speak with Aquaman in Atlantis. Kid Flash was snacking every chance he got and he offered food to Alejandro all the time which helped him since he got an accelerated metabolism as well due to his power. He could feel and sense the Emotions of all his teammates and felt as if they were excited, nervous, wary, confused, distracted, focused, angry... He could feel all the emotions but since he had intuitively mastered it upon obtaining the power he just kept them (his powers) all under control. 

The zeta beam activated as all the kids returned to Happy Harbor mountain. Aqualad returned from Atlantis first and told Alejandro (psi) to take a rest first for an hour since it was his official first day. He went into his room and sat down and rested as he mentally said "System Status"

Alejandro was excited but was kind of overwhelmed to see so many powers. He thought about homo magi physiology and how it functions. After spending some times he started the creation process for his body and he accidentally created Alpha Hybrid Physiology Which enabled him to contain the power to possess the traits and abilities of two or more different species and the ability to be vastly superior to one's kind and evolve further through experience. without him understanding completely what he created and it's abilities So he got a little greedy and added Homo Magi Superior Physiology, which was absorbed by Alpha hybrid physiology and underwent drastic change This enabled him to use magic without a price and then he stopped he did not want to add too many and have his changes be too noticeable. He then decided to focus on his powers.

Hydrokinesis, telekinesis, and Electrokinesis, Telepathy, mind control (all aspect of psychic powers) he added them together and created a new ability. Omni-Psionics which added all existing psychic/psionic/mental powers and it added one more Psionic Magic due to his Homo Magi Superior Physiology. The system itself underwent a change as well to version 3. [Tower of fate is now yours, Intel and Wis increased a bit congratulation host you can now use magic without paying a price or that price hurting others] This powerful fluctuation didn't go unnoticed by Raven, Zatanna, M'gann as they appeared in his room through raven portal. They were trying to figure out what could have caused such psychic, magical changes. They began asking if he was okay if he was attacked and most of all if he was messing with anything he should have not messed with. As they were hounding him with questions they noticed his eyes were closed as if he was in a state of deep meditation. His eyes snapped open with a Psionic /mystical glow to his eyes.

Alejandro: "Hi err what are you guys doing in my room"

The trio: "what did you do?" 

M'agann: "I will not read your mind in respect to your privacy but you must have done something to create such psychic waves so powerful that I'm sure I would have felt it in mars." 

Raven: "I have not felt that much amount of power coming from a person unless it was my father possessing them but it didn't feel evil but I had to check it out."  

Zatanna: "I felt drawn here because It felt like the source of magic appearing here and creating magical fluctuation. I hope that nothing bad was happening but I had to check it out."

Knock knock knock on the other side of the door...

Aqualad: "I also felt the pull as well due to magic It almost felt ancient. I think we need to consult Dr. Fate."  

As they all came out of his room and brought him to the center of the hollow mountain about to call Dr. Fate. A portal described as an ankh showed up and a man walked through wearing gold and blue colors with a full helmet on. His presence exuded a sense of powerful magic. 

Dr. Fate: "That will not be necessary to call me I have sensed it on the other side of the world and came here swiftly."

Dr fate examining Psi and motion Psi to come closer as he circled his body looking for something unseen that only Dr. Fate could see. He sighed teleported Zatanna, Raven, Aqualad, Psi in an instant. Somewhere in a place that is neither here nor there a large tower stood with no windows and no doors. Inside the tower, a dimensional place where logic does not exist a place of magic and everything in those places followed the rules of magic. Dr. fate appeared within his towers with some youths. He took off his helmet and turned out to be Giovanni Zatara he looked towards Psi and Zatanna.

Zatanna: "father why did you take off the helmet of Nabu? I thought you were only allowed to take off the helmet once a year?" 

Giovanni: "The helmet gives me 2 hours with you we can take this time to catch up I miss you. Nabu will talk with speak with the young man named?"

Alejandro: psi my code name is psi

Giovanni: Well then Good luck young man put on the helmet

Alejandro put on the helmet and the costume of fate was on him. Within the helmet was the voice and spirit of Nabu. 

Nabu: "who are you I cannot determine or see your fate yet before I even met you I foresaw something that you were the world savior or destruction. Now that I see you before me I cannot see your face but I can see your magic It is akin to seeing right into the source of all magic which should not be possible for I am a lord of order and with my death will end the ninth age of magic. Yet your magic for some reason will not go away if I die curious."

PSI: "Er Mr. fubu I mean nobuu I mean Nabu your name is weird I am Alejandro Reyes my code name is PSI. I don't know what this whole savior or world destruction has to do with me. What I can tell you is this. I want to be a hero all I care about is helping people I do not want to destroy the world as for my magic I cannot tell you anything other than I have a power that allows me to learn other people's powers and master it instantly." 

Nabu: "hahaha nobody ever that brave towards me. Alright but I will watch you boy and if you align yourself with a lord of chaos I will destroy you to save the world or you can be my avatar and allow me to control your body instead of Giovanni." 

Nabu tried but the system and Psi blocked him from possessing his body. He took off the helmet of Nabu and surely two hours have passed at that moment in his head while speaking with Nabu. He set the helmet on a pedestal. He walked towards Giovanni and let him know he was done speaking with Nabu and mad because Nabu tried to possess him. Giovanni was shocked that this boy was powerful enough to fend off a lord of order. Giovanni had an idea and handed him a key and said "this key is to a lost tower of fate another one if you will Nabu knew you would be strong enough but he wanted to try to possess your body for the sake of order so he forges this key for another tower of fate that will come from somewhere else that was all we could foresee before meeting you." The helmet glowed with annoyance and Giovanni bitterly put on the helmet knowing he won't to be able to see his daughter again until next year. 

Dr. Fate: I will be watching you Psi remember what I said and with a wave of a hand a portal opened up and a light covered the youths and they appeared back in the happy harbor as if they left a second ago. Time is different in the tower of fate that it was this powerful Aqualad then looked at psi and hinted towards training time. 

Robin: "Okay here is the deal with training there will be no powers. The reason for that is in case your powers are temporarily disabled or gone you at least have a way to defend yourself in that situation. we will train for one hour and switch partners. Psi you are fighting me."

Psi: "I have no idea how to fight I only know little martial arts and boxing that it."

Robin: "your enemies will not wait for you to complain about your fighting skills"

Robin threw an open palm and Psi dodged the palm but was knocked off balance his butt so fast due to a leg sweep. Robin extended a hand and smiled to hint that it was a good start. Psi got up and they started again this time Psi was serious and used his martial arts and during the combat training for hours with different partners he heard. [level up to 3,4,5,6]  [Congratulations martial arts and boxing has reached intermediate. Boxing and Martial arts added more skills and have now merged as just Martial arts to your mind due to training with Robin, Aqualad, M'agnn, Beast boy... you now know several various martial arts such as Aikido, Kung fu, Judo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Kali, ...] He kept learning various skills at a rapid pace and they kept merging during training and then he heard [congratulations host you have created a new skill known as enhanced combat, Ninjujstu,.. now merging all fighting skills congratulations host you now created one-man army skill] 

Robin: Alright training over everyone great job. Psi I never have seen anyone master combat training as fast as you. 

Psi: "Breathing heavy you guys are crazy can I go to sleep now?"

Robin: sure take a break for an hour we have a mission coming up soon. 

Alejandro returned to his room trying to figure out what going on with his skills. Aku terkejut ketika Tia menanyakan banyak pertanyaan secara langsung. Normalnya kau diberikan pertanyaan satu-persatu. Tetapi Tia langsung memborbardirku dengan banyak pertanyaan


"Tolong jawab pertanyaanku ini? Jika kau tidak mengerti aku bisa mengulangnya lagi. Ehem"


"Kau…..tidak….mungkin….hidup….Ini pasti sebuah halusinasi, atau mimpi. Pastinya aku mabuk. Tidak. Pastinya ini adalah simulasi. Apakah "


Selagi melihat seluruh keadaan dengan kaki dan tanganku yang tidak bisa digerakkan, aku memikirkan berbagai kemungkinan yang terjadi


"Tunggu, tangan kiriku masih ada?"


"Iya. Aku menggunakan sihir cahaya level - 1 [Heal] untuk menumbuhkan sel-sel punca di berbagai daerah yang luka dan menghubungkannya kembali dengan "

Aku tidak salah dengar? Dia berkata apa? Sihir?


"Ada sihir pikiran level - 3 [Mirror Image] yang dapat membuat orang melihat kita sesuai image yang kita inginkan. Aku juga menggunakan sihir cahaya level - 1 [Barrier] dan sihir dunia level - 1 [Armor] yang melindungi diri dari serangan apapun, kelihatannya oleh orang lain kita sudah mati"


Apa yang dia katakan? Aku pikir Tia adalah orang mengutamakan Logika dan Sains seperti yang telah kita program kepada otaknya. Bukannya omong kosong fantasi seperti "Sihir".




"Dimana kau mendapatkan "sihir" ini?"


"Oh, dari Crown. Aku mendapatkan tongkat sihir darinya."


"Apakah ketika seluruh kamera dan audio di lantai 3 mati?"


"Ada cahaya keluar dari tongkat ketika aku mengambinya, dan itu membuat semua cahaya di sekeliling mati"


Jadi begitu ya. Ada beberapa data yang tidak bisa kita dapatkan dan sebagaian banyak dari data itu adalah "sihir" ini. Hal ini menjelaskan kemampuan Tia yang secara ketat hanya dilatih PSI [Telekenisis] tiba-tiba bisa mengendalikan api seperti kemampuan PSI [Pyrokinetics]. Apakah "sihir" ini tidak hanya tipe dan jenis [PSI] yang baru, tetapi juga sebuah sistim [PSI] yang belum ditemukan oleh kita?


"Sekarang, giliran aku yang menanyakan pertanyaan" Kata Tia sambil menodongkan pistolku ke kepalaku

Setelah perang, banyak laboratorium yang menjadi perusahaan biofarmaka dengan menjual produk ini pada orang-orang kaya. Produsen-produsen protein ini termasuk laboratorium biokimia Alayska hanya bisa memproduksi [Protein Psi] dan atau [Protein Beta].

Dr White adalah direktur utama laboratorium ini dan mengawasi seluruh proyek."

".....Aku tidak mengerti…..Kau itu Hero tetapi kau melakukan hal seperti ini"


Begitu ya. Anak ini mirip denganku pada saat anak-anak, terobsesi dengan Hero. Pasti hatinya sangat hancur ketika mengetahui


"Aku butuh uang....bahkan orang paling suci-pun tergoda oleh uang. Meskipun begitu aku jauh dari kata suci"


"Kenapa kau berbohong kepadaku!? Kenapa kau berpura-pura menyelamatkanku terus membunuhku?"


"Aku ingin menunjukkan bahwa banyak Hero yang berhati buruk sepertiku! Banyak orang yang mengaku Hero telah membeli [Protein Omega]! Mereka mengaku ingin menyelamatkan banyak orang dengan kekuatan itu. Nyatanya, mereka menggunakan kekuatan itu untuk menguasai orang lain."

"Bagaimana cara menyelamatkannya? Apakah aku harus mengalahkan pemimpin proyek itu? Dr Black?"


"Kelihatannya tidak ada cara lain. Tetapi dia memiliki kemampuan [PSI] [Technopathy] untuk mengendalikan teknologi dan robot dan [BIO] [Superpower] seperti dirimu."


"Seberapa kuat orang itu?"


"Coba lihat, terakhir aku lihat dia adalah [PSI] kelas-D dan [BIO] kelas-D. Tetapi untuk saat ini, dia menjadi [PSI] kelas-A dan [BIO] kelas-A. Hasil dari [Protein Omega] yang diambil dari darahmu….."


"Apa ada dokter atau orang lain yang mengkonsumsi darahku…..mengkonsumsi [Protein Omega]?"


"Semua disini mengkonsumsinya dalam dosis dibawah adiksi, para tentara, penjaga, peneliti, bahkan dokter. Tapi tidak sebanyak Dr Black. Mungkin hal itulah yang membuat dia sangat ambisius"


"Tapi dokter Theresa tidak kan? Padahal dokter sendiri yang pada prinsipnya menciptakan [Protein Omega]."

"Kenapa?"


"Aku tidak seperti mereka...Aku tidak ingin menjadi seperti mereka"

Aku melihat cahaya kecil keluar dari tongkat sihirnya.

Aku melihat Tia mulai memberikan pistol yang dia hadapkan kepadaku kepada tanganku yang sudah mulai bisa digerakkan dan pedang milikku.


"Aku membutuhkan umpan untuk mengendalikan pikiran Dr. Black dengan sihirku. Aku bisa melakukannya sendirian. Tapi menurutku itu sangat riskan. Bagaimana?"


"Kelihatannya aku tidak punya pilihan lain kan?"


"....…Kau bukan orang jahat"


"Apa yang kau maksud gadis kecil? Apakah orang yang barusan ingin membunuhmu bukan orang jahat?"


"Orang jahat tidak mungkin membunuh tanpa menahan tangisan, orang jahat tidak akan tega menggendong orang yang habis dibunuhnya dengan kelembutan. Orang jahat tidak mungkin mengorbankan tubuhnya bahkan untuk orang yang sudah mati."


"Heh. Ini mustahil. Kau pasti berbohong kan? Kau hanya mengatakan itu karena ingin mengejekku kan?!!"


"Dokter Theresa, aku tahu di dalam hatimu masih ada kebaikan walaupun tidak banyak. Dan aku ingin menawarkan kesempatan ini untuk menjadi Hero yang sesungguhnya sekali lagi. Karena pada satu-satunya momen dalam hidupku, ketika kau menggendongku. Itu tidak terasa menyakitkan atau dipaksa selama hidupku. Itu terasa lembut. Dan kau pasti selalu mengawasiku kan sebagai pemimpin project. Kau pastinya tahu….bahwa aku adalah pembohong yang sangat payah."


"Ugghh..…..*Hiks*…*Hiks*..*Hiks*. Aku merasa bersalah". Tanpa aku sadari, air mata mulai mengalir dari mataku


"Dokter? Ughh, kenapa ini terjadi lagi? Tolong jangan menangis"


Ya Tuhan. Apa yang telah aku lakukan. Aku menginginkan uang. Tetapi anak-anak yang aku eksperimen untuk mendapatkan uang itu. Aku melihat mereka. Aku mengawasi mereka. Dan aku merawat mereka. Dari dekat pada awal hidup mereka, dan dari jauh karena aku berusaha menolak eksistensi mereka sebagai manusia. Dari telur dan sperma buatan yang sudah kami modifikasi sampai mereka menjadi anak-anak. Aku merasakan ikatan dengan mereka selama ini, ikatan yang selama ini aku pura-pura tidak melihatnya. Dan aku berusaha memutuskan ikatan itu hanya untuk uang.


Aku mulai menganggap mereka sebagai anakku. Aku tidak ingat mulai kapan. Aku pikir perasaan dan ikatan itu cukup tersembunyi. Tetapi bahkan Dr. Black sialan itu mengetahuinya, pasti kolega-kolegaku yang lainnya juga.

Itu adalah kata yang terakhir kali subjek 70A katakan padaku, sebelum dia menghembuskan nafas terakhirnya pada ulang tahunnya yang ke 10


Anak-anakku jauh mengetahuiku sebelum aku mengetahui diriku sendiri. Mereka masih melihatku dengan hati polos mereka walaupun aku sudah melakukan hal yang sangat buruk dan kejam terhadap mereka


Aku mulai memegang pistol dan pedang milikku dan langsung memeluk Tia sambil menangis.


"Tia? *Hiks*"
"Ada apa?"


"Ada hal yang aku belum ceritakan."
"Apa itu?"
"Kau tidak akan hidup lebih dari satu tahun lagi"


"APA?"


"Jangan khawatir, aku akan mengambil seluruh data di laboratorium ini, membawa peralatan yang diperlukan, dan lari denganmu. Sampai ke ujung duniapun. Sampai ke tempat yang ingin kau tuju, sampai kau memenuhi impianmu. Sampai kau sembuh. Jangan khawatir. Aku akan memastikan kau bahagia, mulai saat ini."


Aku melepas pelukan kepada Tia. Dan aku melihat senyumannya yang lebar, senyuman yang mampu menghilangkan semua kesedihanku dan keraguanku


"Baiklah kalau begitu, kita akan pergi bersama Crown, menjemput adikku 72A, dan pergi ke dunia peri"


"APA?"


Aku tidak salah dengar? Dunia peri?


"Crown berkata aku akan menjadi Ratu di salah satu kerajaan di dunia peri. Mungkin ada semacam sihir yang bisa menyembuhkanku. Dengan sihir dunia peri dan sains dunia manusia, kita bisa melakukannya…Mama."


Tia berkata dengan senyuman penuh optimis, berlainan dengan wajah tanpa ekspresi yang selalu dia tampakkan selama di laboratorium sampai saat ini
