No, it doesn’t take place in the Star Wars universe. It’s just got a Star Wars system.         The Jedi also exist, but aren’t the Jedi from the movies or books. They have somewhat the same history, but are in exile and isolated from the world.
John grew up enjoying Star Wars. He wasn’t a huge fan, but it was definitely his favorite science fiction. He didn’t read much of the books, but watched all of the movies and Clone Wars and Rebels.
When he gets killed in the first robbery of it’s kind, will he choose to spend eternity in hell, or accept a system based on his favorite science fiction? I wonder... By the way, this character is based on what I would do, so he’ll be closer to a Sith than a Jedi.
I won’t be able to update this constantly because of stuff going on in my family, but I’ll do my best to update it at least every few days.

The library was an old three-story building that use to be a factory. It was donated over fifty years ago. And was one of the older building in the area. It had been updated in the last few years with new walls, stairs, and wiring. However, they had kept the worn wood floors and it still had a cool, well-used and comfortable feel to it.

She walked over to the front counter where the librarian, Mrs. Chen, sat working on the computer.

"Hello, Lina. I heard you finally got assigned independent study. It took those kooks up in the English department long enough, heh?"

"You're telling me. I didn't know how many more of those idiots I could take without counseling." She thought about how that could be taken for a moment. "The students, that is, Mrs. Chen."

"Sure. Your class time doesn't start until tomorrow, so I assume you're here for your book."

"It finally came in?!"

She smiled and reached beneath the counter.

"Just this morning. Blood by GRAY."She shook her head but handed her the book. "Sometimes I wonder if I should be worried about you."

Lina laugh. The game and the book was sort of along the same vane but different. The book focuses more on how one could tell if you could make potions in real life. That is if you had blood. The author of the book offer list and guilds on taking a potion from a game and make money.

"Shoo, now," she said, waving her hands. "You're terrible."

She took the book and walked to the back corner of the room where the wide oak stairs led up to the second floor and her special reading spot. She ran her hand up the smooth banister as she walked up, loving the feel of the cool wood. The library had always been a quiet spot she had used to think and relax since she had come to the college three years ago. She used it to get away from all of the whispers and names.

At the top of the stairs, she walked through the maze of books to a dimly lit far corner. The shelves formed a natural hallway that prevented anyone from seeing the corner unless they actually walked through. It held a large beige chair big enough for two and a standing light next to it. She never worried about anyone being there because the idiots on campus barely walked through the reference books on the first floor, let alone the second floor where most of the romance, fiction, mystery, horror, fantasy, and science fiction books were held.

She set her bag on the floor beside the chair and plopped down, pulling her legs up under her. She didn't need the light yet, so she opened her new book and began reading.

Li Du felt embarrassed by the fact that he had already stayed for lunch, and now he was being told to pick some vegetables at Tomasson’s vegetable farm as well.
Li tried to refuse, but Tomasson was very insistent about it, and so he agreed to the friendly neighbor’s request.
Hans suggested, "Let's take some presents next time when we visit him—we can bring them some useful things they need."
"Like a filly?" Li Du laughed.
Jones added jokingly, "Remember to buy from my ranch. I’ll give you a special price."
After a sumptuous lunch, Li noticed that the Amish were not in a hurry to go out to the fields. Had they done so in the middle of the day, they would likely get sunburns, as it was summer time.
Li Du really took his hats off to Arizona’s sunshine and climate. It was still early July and the weather was already this warm in Flagstaff. Li Du thought, How hot it would be in Phoenix if it were September?
Flagstaff was located to the north of Arizona, in the Colorado Plateau, near the Grand Canyon National Park. Its temperature was lower than that of the southern cities.
Ricky and the rest of the family would usually take a nap or relax for a break after lunch.
And as they had just gotten the filly and the various tools Li had brought them, Ricky decided not to take a break but to clean up the stable together with the children to house the new horse.
His to-do-list also included helping his wife move out the old weaving machine, and make way for the new one.
During this period, Ashley showed Li Du and friends a traditional Amish wedding dress: a pair of high-topped leather black shoes and a blue linen dress with a white translucent apron over it. This, along with all their other clothing, was handmade by themselves.
Ricky loved the complete set of woodworking tools that Hans had chosen. However, he decided to give the set of tools to his cousin as a wedding gift.
According to Amish customs, a male relative would gift a set of woodworking tools to the female relative who was getting married and vice versa.
Ricky felt that such a good set of tools would make his future cousin-in-law beam with joy. Not to mention that the tools were also handmade and new.
All in all, with regards to the trade that had taken place, Ricky felt that his family had gotten the bigger slice of pie.
But Li Du felt that this was a square deal. He did not feel that he was short-changed in any way at all. Not only had he gotten the zoological specimen that he was really interested in, but he also gained the friendship of the Amish as well.
During the meal with the family, both Ricky and Ashley had mentioned that their grandfather had painstakingly taken the specimen with him from Africa. It had a long history and there were only a small number of such specimens in the world.
Upon hearing that, Li Du surmised that the little bug’s "Relive the Past" ability might have a limit that it could only reverse to a certain point in time and, at that point, the creature had already been turned into a specimen.
If what Ricky said was true in regards to the quantity of the specimen, it would be highly possible Li Du had stumbled upon a truly valuable item.
However, Li Du was in no hurry to get rid of the skeletal specimen. The priority would be the antique Winchester gun and the Blizzard game sets.
When the weather cooled down, they left Ricky’s place and set off for Tomasson’s vegetable farm.
There was a wide variety of vegetables on the farm: celery, spinach, tomato, cucumber, eggplant, bell peppers, green beans, and many more.
Li Du picked a plump, juicy-looking tomato, rubbed it on his shirt and took a bite. The Amish do not put pesticides on their vegetation. Therefore, Li felt there was no need to wash the tomato before eating them.
The ripe tomato was so juicy that the fresh tomato juice spilled onto his cheeks, chin, and nose as well.
Hans roared with laughter seeing Li in this state; he smiled creepily and said, "So you love…" Hans trailed off, whispering to him so no one else could hear. "This hobby of yours is very unique, my little brother!"
Li Du wanted to show him the middle finger but he was worried it might offend his friendly Amish neighbor, so he could only give Hans a kick in the leg.
There was no sour smell on the tomato. Instead it had a delicate scent like Mother Nature. When Li Du tasted it, there was hardly any sour taste either.
These types of tomatoes were great for making stewed beef brisket with tomato. Hence, Li picked a few of them and put them into a bag.
He also picked some celery and garlic so he could make mashed celery root with garlic, which was a great meal for summer.
Green beans were a must too. The fresh green beans plus the fresh red peppers could be stir-fried together or sautéed. They could be a side dish to stewed, fatty pork meat.
Just thinking of all this food almost made Li’s mouth water!
Li didn’t want to take advantage of the kind Amish, so he just picked an amount enough for one to two meals. However, it still amounted to a few bags of fresh vegetables.
After saying goodbye to Tomassen, the four of them went back to their own places, with Hans and Li heading back to Pine Tree Tops.
Li was packing the vegetables into the refrigerator. Hans was in the living room checking out news of any upcoming auctions.
Hans just surfed around for a short while and started shouting, "Hey, buddy! Come, there’s good news!"
Li Du asked, "What’s up? We got a potential buyer for the gun?"
Hans replied with enthusiasm, "No, it’s a big auction. There’s a movie prop warehouse auction in L.A., and it’s a major event that we can not miss!"
"A movie prop warehouse auction? The movie production company wants to let go of their own warehouse?"
Hans shook his head. "No, what’s inside a movie prop warehouse? It’s a movie production company’s warehouse, you know? Hollywood produces so many movies in a year that their warehouses must be jam-packed with equipment and props!
"The props used for shooting the film, the shooting equipment, the various materials used during the promotion of the movie—all of that will all be auctioned off!"
Li Du got what Hans was trying to say. "Okay, so we might be able to uncover valuable props used for a movie, or stumble upon a famous movie star’s poster with their signature, right?"
"Right: at the last movie prop warehouse auction, someone got the Ducati Sport Classic 1000 motorbike used in ‘Tron: Legacy.’"
"You mean it’s worth some cash even if it was just a prop motorcycle?"
"That motorbike’s not just for show. It’s powered by a very strong engine, it’s got hydraulic brakes, and a car computer installed. There’re also headlights in the back. The motorbike is so cool that it was sold at a price of 500,000 dollars!"
When Hans finished explaining all this to Li Du, his eyes were glistening. One could tell how much Hans wanted to go to the Hollywood auction.
"Okay, what are we waiting for? Let’s go!" Li said decisively.
Well, the mention of 500,000 dollars was enough to make Li agree to set off for Hollywood. Although Li Du had close to 600,000 dollars sitting in his bank account, he felt that he was still poor.
"Of course we have to go to Hollywood. We need to go there to look for potential buyers for the gun. We’re unable to sell it for a good price here," Hans reminded him.
Hans had posted pictures of the gun on eBay, Facebook, and Instagram to see if anyone would contact them.
Then he brought the games with him to look for buyers. Hans entered a game store and showed the store owner what he had brought.
The store owner was surprised to see the entire collection of Blizzard games. "Wow, you’ve got some nice stuff here. Some of these can no longer be found." 
"How much would you be willing to pay for them?"
The store owner answered honestly, "I won’t buy all of them. If you’re willing to sell them separately, I would like ‘The Lost Viking,’‘Rock n’ Roll Racing,’‘Shanghai II: Dragon’s Eye,’ and ‘Warcraft: Orcs & Humans.’ We can talk about the price."
"No, I won’t sell them separately." Hans shook his head firmly. "This is a complete set, and I want to sell it as a collection."
The store owner shook his head as well. "Well, that’s too bad then. There are too many ‘World of Warcraft’ titles out there—they aren’t worth much."
Hans begged to differ. "Pal, you mean the collector’s edition of ‘World of Warcraft’ is not worth much?"
The store owner gave a sigh and explained: "Okay, they are worth some cash but who can I sell them to? There aren’t many game collectors in Flagstaff."


They love gold, and they love silver. Even more so, they love gems that dazzle, like stars across the skies. 
Firearms, jewelleries, and precious metals; A collector’s world will not be complete without antiques.  
Storage auctions, old goods trade, re-estate sales and gold-digging. But the truth is, if one wants to make money, then the supreme way is through searching for the legendary treasures. 
Holding the fort, there’s an ocelot, a wolf, and an Andes condor. At the side, there’s a loyal hound, an irascible ape, and an African honey badger. Who said that you can only rely on humans when treasure hunting?!

Zheira tapped the car window of their red Ferrari and waited for the raindrops to race down. It's been over eight hours since they hit the road. She kinda missed the comfort of her bed in Angleton, but instead of drowning in her emotions, she contented herself by staring at the dull line-up of trees in the corner of the lane.

Robert, her skinny father, looked at the rear-view mirror and felt guilty. Her daughter's back was bent on the soft foam of her seat, yawning at each second. They shouldn't have brought her with them but Melinda, her petite mother, was overreacting. They'll be in New York for a month and she didn't want to leave Zheira all by herself. 

He sighed. "You okay there, Zhe?" His voice was loud and throaty for such a small man. 

"Yeah!" Zheira raised her thumb with a cute smile.

Melinda pressed the bridge of her round glasses. "Is there anything wrong, honey?" Her thin brows draw together.

"Nah! it's nothing to worry about." His grip on the gear level tightened.

"That's good to hear." Melinda tied her dark curly hair. "Just so you know, I'm not angry. You can calm down. Just making sure everything's fine."

Sighing out of relief, Robert murmured, "Hope this trip comes to an end. Her mood keeps switching at each second." He loosened his tie and swallowed hard.

"You saying something?"

An awkward smile curved his pale lips. "It's nothing, hon!" He tried sounding cool, though, there's an edge to his voice.

Zheira didn't mind them. She's way too busy wishing to be on a soft bed and relax her body. Especially her back. It's starting to give her pain as they travel farther.

Out of boredom, she started reading on her iPhone. It's the only thing she could do best. Losing herself in the world of fiction.

"Love is a common mistake, we, ladies make. We let ourselves be captured, be vulnerable, and be crazy. Expecting that men would do the same." She read those lines thrice in her head and whispered it twice.

Melinda turned. "You reading again?" When Zheira nodded, she merely simpered. "That's lovely, Zhe. But, as your mother, I want you to not only read fictitious books. Business books are better, and they'll also give you important lessons. After all, you are the heir to our mining business. You needed all the info you can get."

"Oh, come on, hon! That book is boring. They don't even teach you anything important—" He cleared his throat when his wife glared at him. "Just kidding. Zheira, your mother's right. At least, balance reading fiction and nonfiction books."

Zheira looked down. "I'm only seventeen. Those books bore me too much, mom. I'll learn those next year or the year after the next," she whispered while playing with her fingers.

"That is the silliest excuse I've ever heard, Zheira. Those books will not only help you be a good businessman but will also boost your confidence. Look at you, you've been concealing yourself with that jacket of yours. Do you think that is okay? You need to learn everything before it's too late. I'm warning you, Zheira. If I see you reading that fiction book again, I'll confiscate your phone." Her voice was sharp but controlled. As much as possible, she's trying not to hurt her that much. She wished for her daughter to realize that there's more to life than hiding in a piece of cloth. 

Tears trickled passed Zheira's cheeks. Melinda sighed and wiped her tears. "Stop crying now. This is for your own good, Zhe. It's not always that we're alive to keep you safe. You need to learn to be independent. You're turning eighteen two days from now, but you're still a crybaby." She touched her chin gently. "Now look at me."

Zheira shook her head repeatedly. Melinda raised Zheira's head, but she closed her eyes tightly. 

"Zheira!" Her round eyes bulged.

Trembling, Zhiera slowly opened her eyes. A wild gasp escaped her throat when their eyes locked. At first, Zheira could only see the reflection of her eyes. Its blue iris has a slit-like shape in the center and was stained with red crystal-like particles. Until, a dancing figure appeared in Melinda's black irises. It was her younger self. She was turning and humming while carrying a cute baby girl with golden hair.

Melinda smiled. "I loved you even when you're still a child and that would never change, Zheira. If you can't feel it with the way we treat you, look straight into our eyes and our memories will convince you." She planted a soft kiss on her forehead before sitting straight on the passenger's seat.

Robert pinched her wife's hand. "That's so sweet of you, hon!" He smiled, showing off his yellowish teeth.

Silence enveloped them for a while. Zhiera was clenching her fist so hard. Her nails dug deeper into her skin. Tears were falling endlessly from her eyes. She leaned her head on the window. She's aware why her mother got to do that. Her doubts about their love were something they couldn't bear. But, what she couldn't understand was that memory thing. Melinda's aware that she hated seeing through people. It made her feel like a monster, and her eyes were enough for her to be treated like one.

A ring broke the pressured silence. It came from Robert's phone. "Hello? This is Robert Martin of ABC Company. How may I help you?" 

Zheira started reading once more. Though, she couldn't understand a word, she didn't stop. She's just distracting herself from the hatred rising in her soul. Like a snake uncoiling itself. She loathed everything about herself. From her red eyes down to her long legs.

Robert ended the call. "The Mason's are on their way, hon. They want us to be in Ippudo Westside before five minutes."

"They're really early. Let's head there first." She crossed her arms.

"How about Zheira?" He jerked his head to the back. At the mention of her name, she looked at them.

"She can stay in the car."

"We might be there for an hour. She'll be bored."

"What do you suggest? She'll stay in the hotel all by herself? That's not a good idea, hon. She's not used to be alone."

"How can you teach her to be independent if you keep treating her like a baby? Stop worrying about her. She'll not try sneaking out of the hotel, anyway."

It took a while before Melinda could decide. "Fine." She bit her lip. "If something bad happen, it'll be your fault."

Zheira's heart started racing. For the first time, she'll be all alone. She didn't know how it feels, but she's willing to find out.

When they turned in a narrow street, they found themselves jammed in traffic. Robert glanced at his wristwatch and looked anxiously at the line-up of cars before them. 

"We're going to be late," Robert said while massaging his temple.

Melinda patted his shoulder. "Just calm down. This is out of our control, you know. Traffic is inevitable."

"But how about the Mason?"

"You know, for a man you're soft-hearted. Stop thinking about them. We've been traveling for a day and we're willing to sacrifice our rest just for them. They can afford to wait for a while."

After their short argument, Zheira asked, "Mom, where are we?" Her voice was shaking while she watched a lot of people passing through the corner.

"Where in Timesquare at New York. Is there a problem?" she asked, noticing the sweats in her daughter's forehead.

Zheira shook her head and looked at the windshield. The cars were starting to move. She caught a glimpse of the big banners on the buildings. Mostly, they were advertisements for a certain product. What she loved was the big billboard, airing different trailers of movies she hadn't got time to watch. When they're in Angleton, all she did was to fill her eyes with new movies or else read new books and sip a cup of coffee. She missed it now.

It didn't take long before they stopped beside a tall building. It has a red banner just at its third layer and has neat lettering of CasaBlanca. From its first and last letter was a round thing that was painted green.

Melinda reminded her, "Don't ever go out without us. Understand?" She raised her tabby forefinger and shook it dangerously. Zheira nodded.

"Well then. Let's go." She then proceeded outside.

Zheira wore her black sunglasses and facemask. As much as possible, no one must see her bare skin. 

Two bonsai pine tree was facing each other in the corner of the gate, shaded by a red rooftop engraved by the hotel's name.

Melinda was talking to a guard just by the glass door. After a while, she patted the guard before going out. They bid their goodbyes to Zheira, planting a kiss on her cheeks and forehead. Reminding her once more to not stroll anywhere unless they return.

The moment the car moved away from her, she found herself shuddering. The guard looked at her with furrowed brows. Without any question, she was told to follow him and as they enter, her mind could only think of the possibility that this would be a long day.

Zheira's life of concealment is about to change. The seventeen-year-old introverted girl set foot in New York with her parents, unknowing that she will have to leave them. A new personality will awaken as she will find herself draining the life of her father. Filled with remorse, she will seek the truth of her identity, only to be trap in a memory. 

Wallowing in her demise, she will meet a perfectly handsome stranger who will revive the gift he'd given to her a long time ago, that will make her realize what she's capable of. She soon discovers that there are gifts she can't be grateful for, not when it is a curse disguised as a blessing.
