XXX Crime Investigation Office...
After the meeting, Bryan and Erick decided to leave the office and had their lunch outside. They were now sitting inside, at one of the fast-food restaurants near the office.
"Chief what happened last night?"
Erick told him everything about how he found the woman and saved her.
"Someone is after her life. I thought we might find something if we would look into the area where I found her that's why I asked you to go there and investigate. What did you find out?" Erick said to him
"When I searched that area I found an abandoned warehouse just kilometers away from the highway where you found her." Erick didn't interrupt him so he continued.
"When I arrived there I saw  4 black vans and 1 black car fully tinted leaving the warehouse. Sadly I didn't see the plate numbers clearly. When I was sure that no one was there, so I went inside. There were bullets scattered everywhere and some blood on the floor, however, no dead bodies found inside." Bryan looked at him seriously.
Erick frowned as he heard that, "Some big syndicates must be involved in this case."
"I agree, some of the bullets found inside were from high powered firearms," Bryan added to his suspicion. Erick stood up and left the restaurant in a rush.
Bryan was puzzled as he called him "Chief where are you going?"
"I need to go back to the Hospital. She might be in danger now." He replied before he disappeared in Bryan's sight.
Erick's gut feeling was right. At St. Anthony Hospital where Elle was confined two members of Skull Gang were already asking the hospital admission staff whether they had received a female patient last midnight with gunshot and stab wounds. The admission staff confirmed it.
"Boss, positive! A female patient was brought here last night with the same wound with Catseye." One of the two men called James to report as soon as possible.
"Great! Get her and bring her to me!" James ordered.
"Copy Boss."
The two men proceeded to the room where Elle was staying. They disguised as a nurse and a doctor.
Erick just arrived at the hospital when Dr. Gomez called him.
"Chief Lee, where are you?" Dr. Gomez asked him
"I am at the lobby, I just arrived here at the hospital. Why? Erick answered
"I heard that a while ago two persons were asking about a female patient who got gunshot and stab wound, they might be referring to the patient you brought here last midnight."Dr. Gomez informed him.
Erick didn't waste any more time and ran towards the elevator but a lot of people were waiting in line. He decided to go with the stairs. He was running fast. Elle's room was located on the 3rd floor.
When he reached Elle's room he saw the guards who were assigned to protect her were now unconscious and lying down on the floor. He was shocked and he felt the nervousness as his heart was running wild for beating so fast. 'Am I too late?' He thought to himself as he slowly opened the door. He picked up his gun and slowly walked inside the room.
He saw two people inside the room wearing a white hospital gown uniforms for a nurse and doctor. They were looking at the patient who was sound asleep. One man was holding a gun while the other was talking with someone through the phone.
"Boss we got her. She was still unconscious!" the man reported to their Boss.
He was about to say something when he was interrupted by Erick."Freeze, this is the police! Put your gun down."
Both of them were stunned and they turned around to look at Erick.
BANG!
The man who was holding the gun shot Erick and the other man also picked up his gun to shoot Erick.
Fortunately, Erick was able to avoid their shots.
BANG! BANG!
Erick fired back at them and bullseye.... two men were hit in the head and they collapsed.
Minutes later back-up arrived at the hospital. Erick called for a back up while he was running a while ago.
On that same day, they decided to transfer Elle to another Hospital to ensure her safety.
Dr. Gomez approached Erick "Chief Inspector Lee, you saved her again. If you didn't arrive on time we do not know what those people might do with her."
Erick smiled and said "Yeah, I would blame myself if anything happens to her. By the way, how are those two police officers?"
"They were just fine. They were injected with a strong sedative causing them to fall unconscious."Dr. Gomez replied.
"Erick I wanted to tell you that during the operation I noticed that the patient you brought has so many old scars all over her body. Do you think she was abused or something?" Dr. Gomez shared his thoughts.
Erick frowned, "I don't know. We can find out once we talk to her when she wakes up."
Dr. Gomez just left when Bryan arrived together with Police Officer Kim.
"Chief Inspector Lee, I want to apologize for the carelessness of my men." Officer Kim apologized with Erick feeling guilty of what happened.
"It's okay Officer Kim. I should be thanking you for allowing your men to protect her when I requested you for your help." Erick politely said
"Chief, we found out the identity of those two men. According to the investigation, they were members of Skull Gang. The tattoo found in their wrists signified that they were a member of Skull Gang." Bryan butted in their conversation
"The lady you saved must be involved with that Gang or might have offended members of higher-ups from the Skull Gang," Bryan added.

Meanwhile in the Skull Gang main headquarters...
"Boss, they had an encounter with the police at St. Anthony Hospital. Two of our men were killed on the spot." Spike reported to James
"Useless Bunch!!!! All of you leave!!" James shouted.
James closed his eyes trying to contain the anger he was feeling right now. 'Catseye just you wait!'

Erick kept silent for a few seconds, thinking. Elle could almost hear her pounding heart amidst the silence of their surrounding.

Erick looked into her eyes and met her nervous gaze as he gave her his response.

"If that is the case, then I will have to put you in prison," he said in a serious tone.

Elle's heart sank when she heard it. She felt like her world fell into pieces.

"So... if I ask you to surrender yourself to me, will you do it?" Erick asked her softly as he cupped her troubled face in his two hands.

"Will you?... will you marry me Elle?" he added.

Elle:"..."

Erick took advantage of that chance when Elle was still in a trance as he brought his face closer to her and sealed her lips with a gentle kiss.

"Aray!"

Sapo sapo ko ang ilong ko na natamaan dahil sa paghinto ni kuya.

"Ba't ka huminto kuya! Ang sakit tuloy!"

Nanatili lang siyang nakatayo sa harap ko kaya naman dumaan ako sa kaliwa niya habang hinihimas ang ilong ko.

'Anyare dito?'

"Huy! Kuya! Ba't nakatunganga ka jan?"

Mukhang natauhan naman na si kuya at nagmadali na namang maglakad. 

Huminto siya sa isang 7 11 at naupo. 

Sumunod naman ako sa kay kuya at inalalayan si ate para makaupo.

"Anong gagawin natin dito?" 

Hindi sumagot si kuya sa tanong ko pero tumitig siya sakin.

'Geh. Nice talking.'

Ilang minuto kaming nagtitigan ng bigla siyang kumurap kurap at umiling. 

May binulong si kuya pero mukhang sa sarili niya lang ito sinasabi. 

'Anyare sa kanya?'

Yumuko siya at umiling muli. 

'Baliw pa ata kasama ko.'

Bigla siyang tumayo at tumitig sakin. 

"San ka nakatira?"

"Bakit mo tinatanong?" Tanong ko kay kuya. 

"Para maihatid na." 

"Ah no need malapit lang naman bahay namin dito. Eh ikaw Ate san ka nga pala nakatira?" Tanong ko kay ate na naka sandal sa akin. 

"S-sa F-Fiesta Village a-ako nakat-tira" Utal utal na sagot ni ate habang nakatingin kay kuya.

'Ba't ang layo ng narating ni ate? Isang kilometrong layo din yon ah.'

"A-anlayo. Ako nalang maghahatid sa kanya." Pagprepresinta ko dahil maaabala si kuya. 

"No. I'll be the one to accompany her."

Englishero pala si kuya. Sigurado ba siya? 

"Are you sure?" 

"Yes. I'll call my driver to pick us up."

Napanatag naman ang loob ko nung malaman na hindi sila magco commute. 

"Hindi ka pa ba uuwi?"

Ba't parang familiar yung mukha ni kuya? 

Napatitig naman ako sa lalaking nasa harap ko ngayon. 

"Miss. Sasama ka ba samin o uuwi kana?"

'Nakita ko na siya dati eh. Hindi ko lang alam kung saan.'

"Miss. Sasama ka ba?" 

'Ay ewan! Bahala na nga.'

"MISS!" 

"Ay Mikhaella! Ano ba?! Bakit ka naninigaw jan?!" 

"You're not paying attention to what I am saying!"

"Then at least you should have tapped me on the shoulders and not yell at my face!" 

"Aish. So it's my fault now?! Well I'm sorry if I'm disturbing your day dreaming."

"Wha- I'm not day dreaming!"

"Yes you are!"

"No I'm not!"

"Ye--"

"Yung babae hinimatay!" Sigaw nung cashier. 

Paglingon namin ni kuya ay nakita kong nakahandusay na si ate. 

"Sh*t kunin mo yung gamit niya."
Nilapitan ni kuya yung babae at binuhat. Medyo napangiwi pa siya pero kinaya niya. 

Agad agad kong kinuha yung gamit nung babae at sumunod kay Kuyang Patpatin. 

Pagkalabas namin ng 7 11 ay may bumungad na itim na sasakyan samin. 

Lumabas ang isang lalaki na nakasuot ng pormal na damit at nagbow kay Kuyang Patpatin. 

"Open the door!" Sigaw niya dun sa lalaki. 

Agad agad naman itong binuksan nung lalaki at ipinasok yung babae sa kotse. 

Sasakay na din sana si Kuyang Patpatin ng mapansin niya ko. 

Tss. Ngayon niya lang ako napansin. 

Napangiwi ako sa inisip ko. 

"Aray! Ano ba?!" Daing ko dito kay Patpatin. 

Eh pano ba naman?! Hila hila niya ako. Tas ang higpit pa nung hawak niya sa pulso ko. 

Sumakay kami sa kotse at dali dali itong pinaandar. 

"Teka. San tayo pupunta?!" Natatarantang sigaw ko dahil di ko alam kung san kami pupunta. 

"In my house!"

Ano?!

"Baliw ka ba?! Hinimatay na lahat lahat yung babae tapos sa bahay mo dadalhin?! Siraulo! Sa Hospital dapat!" Bulyaw ko kay Kuyang Patpatin. 

"Malayo ang hospital dito sa lugar na to! Rush Hour na! May personal doctor ako sa bahay. Malapit lang ang bahay ko dito. So just please shut up and calm yourself." Mahabang sagot niya sakin. 

Okay. Napahiya ako dun ah. Sabi ko nga tatahimik na ko. 

Ilang minuto lang ay pumasok kami sa isang Village. A prestigious Village I mean.

What da hek?! Ano to?! Dinaanan namin ang bawat kanto. At base sa mga nabasa kong signs ay by Class ang bawat kanto nila dito. 

'Siguro kung dito kami nakatira, nasa tabi ng guardhouse ang bahay namin.'

Umiling iling ako dahil sa naisip ko nang biglang huminto ang sinasakyan namin sa tapat ng isang napakalaking gate. 

As in sobrang laki!

Otomatiko itong bumukas at umandar muli ang sasakyan namin. 

And from there, 

We entered Heaven.

Parang mababaliw si Makisig nang malaman niya na umalis si Bea at sumama kay Cally. Balita iyon mula kay Mr Reyes. 


Pinuntahan niya sa ospital si Anthony para itanong dito kung saan dinala ng pinsan nito si Bea. Ilang araw na itong namamahinga sa ospital dahil malalim ang sugat nito sa balikat.


Pagbukas niya ng pintuan nabigla si Makisig na makita si Lovely sa loob ng hospital suite ni Anthony.


"Alam niyo ba na kinidnap ni Cally si Bea?" iyon ang bungad ni Maki sa dalawa.


"Huh?!" napabalikwas ng bangon si Anthony. Sumakit kaagad ang braso nito. Agad namang lumingon si Lovely sa kanya.


Parang wala sa sarili si Maki na umupo lang sa couch na nasa loob ng hospital suite ni Anthony. 


"Saan dinala ng pinsan mo si Bea?" tanong niya kay Anthony.


"It's possible na dinala niya si Bea sa UK, or sa Ireland or America, or Japan, india? I don't know." ang sagot ni Anthony sa kanya.


Pinipigilan ni Makisig na umiyak sa harap ng dalawa dahil nakakahiya.

Bukod sa hanapin si Bea gusto niyang malaman kung ano ang nangyari nang gabi na iyon. 

"Ano ba ang nangyari sa iyo? Bakit ka nasaksak ni Ramon?" tanong niya.


Halatang nagkatinginan ang dalawa at wala ni isa ang nagsalita. 

"Lovely… may naganap ba sa atin nang gabi na iyon?" gustong alamin ni Maki. 


Para na kasi siyang mababaliw sa mga naganap. Gusto niyang ipagulpi si Ramon sa loob ng kulungan. 


Tumingin naman si Anthony kay Lovely. Parang nasaktan ang kaibigan niya sa tanong niya sa babae. Nagkahinala si Makisig na may gusto ang kaibigan niya sa ate ni Bea dahil sa inaakto nito.


"Ang totoo, kasama ko si Lovely sa kwarto nang masaksak ako ni Ramon." pagtatapat ni Anthony. Nakayuko si Anthony at hindi makatingin sa kanya. 


Tahimik lang si Lovely pero halata na nataranta ito sa pagtatapat ni Anthony. 


"That's why I don't like the thing you claimed na magkasama kayo ni Lovely sa kwarto. That is impossible." galit na sabi nito sa kanya. 


"Then, sino yung babaeng nakasiping ko nang gabi na iyon?" tanong niya sa mga ito. 


Dahil si Lovely ang naroon, normal na isipin ni Maki na si Lovely iyon, tama? At mababaliw na siya dahil nakipaghiwalay sa kanya si Bea dahil doon.


"Imposible na ako iyon." mga unang salita ni Lovely. 


"Pinahanap ko ang CCTV ng pasilyo na inokupa natin sa hotel. Wala kaming makuha dahil mukhang sinabotahe ng dati mong nobyo  ang records." pagbibigay-alam niya sa dalawa. 


Nakahawak ito sa dibdib na para bang takot talaga ito sa nangyari.


Nagsimulang umiyak si Lovely. Siguro dahil sa takot nito kay Makisig, o kaya naman sa takot nito sa dati nitong nobyo o kaya naman kay Anthony. Hindi nila alam.


"N-nasa kwarto ako ni Mike." lumuluhang sabi nito.


Halatang nasaktan naman si Anthony kaya hinawakan nito ang kamay ni Lovely. Tumingin ng masama sa kanya ang matalik niyang kaibigan. 

"I don't like to explain what we did that night because I know you have an idea. Right? We did crazy things. Got it?!" parang naiinis nang paliwanag ng kaibigan niya sa kanya.


"Kung ganoon bakit naabutan kami ni Bea na magkasama sa kwarto ni Lovely?" parang masisiraan na si Maki. 


"Because I saw your room slightly opened kaya napilitan akong pumasok... Nabigla kami na nasa loob ng kwarto si Ramon, nagulat na lang kami nang saksakin niya sa braso si Anthony." 

Tuluy-tuloy ang luha nito pero pinilit ni Lovely na magpatuloy.


"Hinabol ako ni Ramon nang lumabas ako ng kwarto. Sabi ni Mike sa 'kin puntahan ko kaagad si Cally. Pero nakalimutan ko ang numero ng kwarto niya. Sumigaw ako para manghingi ng tulong. Pinukpok niya ang ulo ko sa pader.  Then, pinilit ko na pumasok na lang sa kwartong nakabukas… I don't know what happened next."


"I can attest na walang gumamit sa akin that night dahil nagpacheck ako sa OB para lang makita kung may semen na makikita sakin… kamamatay lang ng anak ko and I-it's normal for me to check my body…" nanghihina na sabi na nito. 


"No one used me.." at humagulgol na nga si Lovely. Para bang nandidiri ito sa usapan nila. 


Niyakap naman kaagad ito ni Anthony. "Calm down…"


Parang masisiraan naman lalo ng ulo si Makisig sa mga nalaman.

Naalala ni Maki ang mga iyon habang nakatingin kay Bea na naglalakad sa isle. 


Isip-isip ni Maki, naroon sa lugar nang mga oras na iyon si Anthony, si Lovely, si Cally si Bea at siya. Ang mga kasama niya nang gabi na iyon. 


Gusto na niyang tapusin ang karma at sumpa na meron sila.


Simula nang malaman niya kay Anthony na kinumpirma ni Cally na babalik ang babae sa Maynila, sinimulan niya nang abangan ang babae simula pa lang ng lumapag ang eroplano na sinakyan nito. 


He wanted to hold Bea in his arms, kiss her at huwag nang paalisin pa ang babae sa mga bisig niya. Pero parang iritable ang babae sa mga nagaganap doon at mukhang hindi ito interesado.


He knew he made a mistake in the past at sa palagay niya ay napangaralan na siya nang sobra ng tadhana. Alam din niya na hindi pa siya napapatawad ni Bea.


Naalala niya ang nakaraan. Noong mga panahon na parang naliligaw na pusa pa ang awra ni Bea. Nang panahon na dependent pa sa kanya ang babae. Ibang iba sa Bea na parang tigre ang awra sa ngayon.


Sa loob ng dalawang taon, lihim niyang sinubaybayan ang babae. Sikreto na nagpupunta si Makisig sa Japan para lang panoorin ng lihim ang araw-araw na ginagawa nito. 


Nang matapos ang seremonyas, napansin niya na nagpunta sa wine bar si Bea. Sumunod siya dito para kamustahin ito pero ni hindi man lang siya nito nagawang lingunin.


Nilagok niya ng sunud-sunod ang alak na hiningi niya sa bartender nang makita niya si Bea na lumapit kay Cally. 


Matapos iyon, tinawag ito sa unahan para sa bulaklak. Napansin niya na halatang hindi ito interesado, pero nakisali pa rin si Bea bilang kapatid ni Lovely. 


Nang makuha ni Bea ang bulaklak, papayag ba siya na madantayan ng iba ang balat ng babae? Syempre hindi! 


Hinagis ni Anthony ang garter. Pinilit niyang makuha iyon pero may nakakuha nang iba.


Isang lalaking nerd na nakasalamin ang naka-agaw sa garter. Kilala niya ang lalaking ito bilang bagong assistant ni Anthony.


Nginitian niya lang ang lalaki ng nakakaloko. Ngiting may pananakot 

"Ibibigay mo ba sa akin? O ibibigay mo?" bulong niya dito, halatang nananakot. Itinapat niya dito ang palad niya para kusa nito na ibigay ang garter. 


"S-sir Maki? Please spare my life.." sagot nito. 


Mukhang nakuha ang lalaki sa tingin niya na sobrang talim kaya binitawan nito ang garter at kusang binigay sa kanya.

Isang trahedya at misteryo ang nangyari isang linggo bago ang kasal ni Maki at Bea na siyang nagpabago sa kapalaran nilang dalawa. 

Nagkaroon ng kasiyahan para sa nalalapit nilang kasal. Ngunit nagising si Bea na kasama ang asawa ng ate niya sa kwarto kung saan lumilitaw sa imahe niya na isang lalaki ang gumamit sa kanya nang nagdaang gabi nang paulit-ulit.
Natagpuan naman niya si Makisig na halos walang kasuotan kasama ang ate niya sa kwarto nito. Bitbit ang hinanakit ay nilayuan niya ang lalaki sa loob ng apat na taon para mangibang bansa kung saan siya mas nakaranas ng pagdurusa.

May pagkakataon pa ba silang magkatuluyan sa huli? Sa pangalan lang ba sila bagay?

Nakatingin siya sa lalaki at naghihinagpis ang kalooban niya. 

Dumadaloy ang luha sa pisngi ni Bea na akala mo ay uubusin nito ang lahat ng natitirang tubig na nagmumula sa mga mata niya.

Lumapit ito para yakapin siya pero agad siyang umiwas. 
"Bea, trust me..." mahinang sabi nito. 

Mas matagal na nakatitig siya dito, mas lalo nitong pinapatay ang kalooban niya. 

May mga bagay na hindi talaga tugma kahit napapanahon. May mga bagay na tugma, kahit hindi napapanahon. 

May mga tao na kailangan lang ang isa't isa kaya nila mahal ang bawat isa. May mga tao na mahal nila ang isa't isa kaya kailangan nila ang bawat isa. 

May mga tao na para sa isa't isa. At may mga tao na kahit pilitin nila, hindi sila ang magkakatuluyan sa bandang huli. 

Minahal niya ang lalaking nasa harapan ng sobra-sobra. Halos hindi niya masabi ang mga salita pero kailangan sabihin. 

"Ayoko na..." 

Kapag doble-doble ang sakit. Doble-doble ang pahirap.

Sa mundo at sa panahon na iyon, alam niya na hindi pa napapanahon. They are not meant for each other, she guessed. 


"A..alis na ko.. Paalam.."

MATAGAL na tinitigan ni Cathy ang picture na iyon ni Mikhail Jericho Salazar na naka-flashed sa screen ng cellphone niya. She's currently using a online dating app called Swiped where you can chat to random people around the world. Iba iba ang mga nationality na naroroon at bawat isa iba iba din ang pakay kaya sumali doon. Karamihan naghahanap ng partner in life habang 'yung iba naman, kausap o fling lang ang hanap. At bakit siya sumali doon? Simply because she's bored and she installed Swiped to meet random people around the world. 



Madami na siya naka-usap at lahat iyon iisa ang alok sa kanya. Send nudes. Muntik na niya mabato ang cellphone niya nang makalimang match na siya na puro iyon ang hinihingi sa kanya. She was about to close it when a picture of Mikhail flashed on her screen. Hindi sapat ang salitang gwapo para i-describe ito. He has thick eyebrows, a pair of almond shaped brown eyes, perfectly shaped nose, and a kissable lips. Binasa niya ang profile nito at lahat ng detalye ay naroon. May tangkad itong six feet and one inches, lean at athletic ang body type na halos mamapak na siya ng kanin dahil sa abs nito na tila inukit ng magaling na iskultor.



Mula din sa profile ni Mikhail, nalaman niyang Neurologist ito na nakabase sa Spain. Half Irish, half Spanish ito at nakalagay din na balak nito umuwi ng Pilipinas para magbakasyon. Kung kasing gwapo nito ang magiging neurologist niya, hindi na niya nanaisin pa na lumabas ng ospital. Naroon din ang cellphone number nito dahil hindi naman daw ito active sa Swiped. She grabbed her small notepad at sinulat iyong number na iyon ni Mikhail. Pagkatapos ay agad siyang nag swiped right at halos manlaki ang mga mata niya nang makita niya ang Matched word sa screen ng phone niya.

Ang lame ng reply niya. Why does she needs to call him doc? Hindi naman siya pasyente nito. Palpak talaga siya sa mga gano'n kaya duda na siyang magrereply pa ito sa kanya. Ngunit matiyaga pa rin naghintay si Cathy ng reply mula kay Mikhail hanggang sa antukin na siya at makatulog na hawak ang cellphone niya.



Mikhail: I'm sorry, I had an emergency operation awhile ago that's why I couldn't reply immediately.




MATAMANG hinihintay ni Mikhail ang reply ni Cathy sa chat kani-kanina lang. Hindi niya ito nagawang ma-reply-an dahil nagkaroon siya ng emergency operation na VIP ang pasyente. Napasandal siya sa swivel chair niya saka inalis ang suot na eye glass. Iyon na ang huling araw niya sa seventy two hours duty niya. Sobrang drained na siya sa dami nang inoperahan niya sa loob ng tatlong araw na shift na 'yon.



Joining Swiped – an online dating app – was not part of his plan. Kagagawan iyon ng kaibigan niyang si Sixto na sobrang nababagot sa buhay mayroon siya. Apartment-ospital-gym ang routine niya at kahit kailan hindi siya sumama sa mga night out ni Sixto. Mas pinili niya mag stay sa apartment at mag-aral upang palawakin ang kaalaman niya sa field na tinahak niya. He's the only doctor in their family.



Irish national ang ama niya na isang business man habang spanish national naman ang mama niya. Parehong negosyate ang mga ito kaya nagtataka ang lahat kung bakit siya nag-doctor. Nang mag-divorce ang mga magulang niya nung pitong taon palang siya, umalis ang mga ito sa Spain at naiwan siya sa poder ng kanyang lolo at lola. His mom got re-married after a year to Filipino politician. Nagkaroon siya nang kapatid na babae doon na isa na ngayon abogado. Ang papa naman niya, nag-asawa na din at may mga kapatid din siya dito. Both of his parents were good friends and sometimes, they're all gathered together on a special occasion such as Christmas and New Year. 



Being a member of Swiped for a week now, he already talked to random people who wants to meet him in person and have sex with him. Puro gano'n lang ang habol sa kanya kaya naisip na niya na alisin iyon ngunit nang muling mag-swiped siya, nakuha ng profile ni Cathy ang atensyon niya. He immediately press the like button and just this morning they both matched. 



"Doc Mikhail, do you want to join us later? Doc Annie will treat all the neurosurgeons tonight."



It was Doc Pablo Bermejo. Kapwa niya neurologist at ka-share niya sa opisina. Iyong Doc Annie na tinutukoy nito ay head neurologist sa Hospital Universitario La Paz. Dalawang taon na siyang fellow doctor doon at wala pa sa bokabolaryo niya ang manatili kung nasaan ang pamilya niya. He loves Spain, the people, his work environment and most especially, his patients.



"I'm sorry, I have to go home to pack my things. I'll go home tonight to visit my mom," he answered in Spanish language.



"I see. How long will you be gone?" Doc Mac asked.



He answered, "three weeks."



"Your patient will missed you especially those who have crush on you," natatawang sabi ni Doc Pablo sa kanya. Napangiti siya dahil sa sinabi nito. Siya kasi ang tinuturing na hospital heartthrob doon at halos lahat ng pasyente doon ay siya ang hanap. "Well, see you in three weeks then. Have safe flight, doc!"



"Thank you," he said in spanish language. 



Lumabas na sa opisina nila si Doc Pablo habang siya naman ay matama na inayos ang mga gamit niya. Muli, niyang sinipat ang cellphone, wala pa din reply si Cathy. Naisip niya na baka abala ito. Matama siya tumayo at dinampot na ang susi ng kotse saka nilisan na ang kanyang opisina. Fifteen minutes drive lang naman ang layo ng hospital sa apartment unit na tinitirhan niya kaya madali siya makakauwi.



Sinipat niya pang muli ang cellphone bago sumakay sa sasakyan niya. Wala pa din reply si Cathy. Napaisip siya bigla kung totoong tao ba ito o baka gawa gawa lamang ng iba na kumukuha ng identity ng iba. Poser sa madaling salita. Alam niyang madaming gano'n doon at iyon ang pinaka-iniiwasan niya sa lahat. In-start na niya ang sasakyan at pinasibat iyon paalis doon. Habang nasa daan pauwi, isang tunog mula sa cellphone niya ang pumukaw sa kanyang atensyon. Napangiti siya nang makitang rumehistro doon ang pangalan ni Cathy. 



Cathy: Hey, its okay. I fell asleep while waiting for your reply.



Hindi pa siya maka-reply dahil nagda-drive pa siya. Binilisan niya ang pagpapatakbo ng sasakyan patungo sa apartment na tinitirhan niya. Nang makarating siya doon, agad niya dinampot ang cellphone saka nag-reply kay Cathy. 



Mikhail: Are you a new member here?



Cathy: Yes. I tried this app out of curiosity and boredom. Actually, I'm about to uninstall it awhile ago since I only got indecent proposal.



Mikhail: I see. There's a lot of member here like that.



Cathy: You wouldn't asked me to send nudes, right? 



Mikhail: Nah but if you want I can accept it.



Cathy: Ugh! I thought you're different. 



Hindi niya naiwasang matawa. He somehow imagined Cathy's irritated face. Agad siya tumipa nang reply para dito. Yes, he's really different and he won't ask any girl to send nudes on their first chat. Hindi pa naman siya gano'n ka-deprived sa sex.



Mikhail: Forget about sending nudes. What do you in your life?



He clicked again Cathy's photo and look at it for the fourth time. He viewed her profile and read all the informations stated there. Doon nakasaad na ang edad nito, hobbies, favorite things and places at iba pa'ng general informations such as complete birth name, birthday, and birth place. Cathy has this irresistible charms that got him at first sight. She looks stunning in one of her photo where she wearing a formal knee length fitted dress. Her narrow and slanted eyes and sharp nose gives her a sexy and strong aura despite of her age. 



Upon seeing her curves and noticeable behind, he felt hot and its odd. Picture palang iyon at hindi pa siya sigurado kung ito ba talagang nasa picture ang kausap niya. Who would've believed that she's just twenty four years old? Pakiramdam niya nga mas higit pa ang edad nito kaysa sa nakasaad sa profile nito.  He continue browsing Cathy's photo until a popped message appear. Its an email reply from his dad. Natatandaan niyang nag-email siya dito tungkol sa flight itinerary niya at estimated time of arrival niya sa Pilipinas. Nag-noted lang naman ito tungkol sa mga details na binigay niya na sobrang pinagtataka niya.



Ngayon lang nagreply ang papa niya sa mga email niya. Kibit balikat niya inignora iyon saka muling binalikan ang Swiped profile ni Cathy. Wala pa din itong reply dahilan upang mapaisip siya. Did he offended her? Sinipat niya ang oras mula sa pambisig niyang orasan. Napahugot siya nang malalim na hininga bago nag-log out sa Swiped at tuluyang bumaba sa sasakyan niya.



She'll reply soon, Echo, don't worry. Bulong niya sa sarili.

Anthony could hardly respond to his friend when I had the head of his shaft in my mouth. I sucked, kissed, and rubbed him mercilessly as he struggled to speak to his friend. Whoever he was talking to eventually hung up in frustration. 

When he was off the phone, I stopped and looked up at him. Anthony started laughing. " You're crazy." He said shaking his head. "But no one told you to stop." 

"I just wanted to make sure I had your undivided attention." I wink at him.

"It was undivided the moment you st-st-started." 
I resumed my mouth and hand massage while he was talking.

Again mercilessly I go at him until I start to feel him quiver and shake. My characters are African American, Carribean, and Hispanic descent, so this book may have a different flavor from the more traditional stories on here. Also feel free to comment if there are any slang terms or phrases you don't understand.

Author note: Novel scenes were inspired of a certain scene in Doctors - a Korean medical themed drama - where Dr. Yoo and Prof. Hong meet after a long time of no communication. One of my favorite Korean drama and I keep on repeating it. Hope you'll like this update. Happy reading!

NAGTA-TRABAHO ako sa lugar kung saan hindi na bago ang kamatayan bagkus ay madalas na inaasahan pa nga. Choosing this kind of profession means I'm not allowed to invests personal feelings towards any of my patients. Pero maiiwasan ba? Ilang beses ko na sinubukan pero sa huli, talo pa din ako. I end up crying because my patient lost his or her life during operations. Sabi ng daddy, dapat 'di ko na daw pinilit ang sarili ko na mag-doctor kung mahina loob ko. Pero ito talaga ang gusto ko kaya tinahak ko pa rin ang landas na tinahak din niya noon. He's also a doctor specialized in family medicine and just like me, he also went through my struggles inside medical school and hospital. 


My childhood to teenage life evolves to his clinic. Tinutulungan ko siya i-accommodate ang mga pasyente niya at nag-a-assist din ako kapag may mga minor surgeries siya noong nag-aaral na ako ng pre-med course ko. 


Sabi ng mga uncle ko, nakuha ko yung tapang na 'to kay mommy dahil lumaki itong walang kinikilalang totong mga magulang. My grandparents were killed in a mass shooting incident in Atlanta, Georgia. Lumaki ang mommy sa pangangalaga nina lola Tine at lola Lorie na kapwa madre pa noon sa bahay ampunan na tinirhan nito. Maganda ang lovestory ng mga magulang ko at minsan pinangarap ko din maging gano'n ang kalabasan ng sa akin.


But only if I'm interested to love. Hindi iyon kasama sa bucket list ko bago ako mag-30 years old. I want to enjoy my life as a single person. 


Palagi ako pinagsasabihan ng mommy kapag mas lamang na ako'y nasa ospital kaysa sa bahay namin. Gladly, I have daddy to depend me whenever mommy scolds me. Sinabi lang ng daddy na hayaan na ako dahil matanda na naman daw ako. Alam ko na daw ang tama sa mali, alam ko na nga ba talaga?


Marahas akong napabuntong hininga. Its been a week since I came back from Denmark for a five days vacation. Nag-enjoy naman ako sa bakasyon ko at madami ako na-discover sa bansa na iyon. Kung bibigyan ako ng isa pang pagkakataon ay babalik ulit ako doon. 


My thoughts were halted when my phone suddenly rings. Agad ko iyong dinukot sa bulsa ng suot ko na doctor's white gown at sinagot. It was a call from one of the resident and he told me that there's an emergency patient that needed to be operated immediately. Na-diagnosed na daw ng doctor din doon ang pasyente at on the way na ang mga ito via air ambulance. I tied my hair and jog my way to the hospital's rooftop. 


"Female, 25, mental stupor, pupils are 5mm and 3mm. The doctor incharge already intubated the patient." Sabi sa akin ng kasama kong resident din sa St. Martin Medical Center. 


"What is the presumed diagnosis?" tanong ko. 


"Cerebral hemorrhage. The patient still unconscious and no reflexes response reported." I mentally remembered everything I studied about cerebral hemorrhage at risky ang magiging operasyon na gagawin at maaring ikamatay iyon ng pasyente. 


"Ilang oras nang walang malay ang pasyente?" tanong ko pa ulit pero hindi ako nagawang masagot ng kasama kong resident. Pumihit ako paharap sa kanya at nakita kong kakamot kamot ito sa ulo. I don't know what he's trying to say but its clear that he forgot the patient's medical chart. Marahas akong napabuntong hininga. I sighted his ID before looking straight to his eyes.


"We're not here to play, Dr. Liam Perez. If you want to work with me, you need to focus." Natigil ako sa paglilitanya sa resident na kasama ko nang umihip ang malakas na hangin. Hinayon ko ang tingin ko sa dahilan noon. It was the air ambulance that used to transport patient that needed to be operated immediately. 


Pagkalapag ng air ambulance, agad na nilabas doon ang pasyente. Kasunod noong ang isang lalaking nakasuot ng two piece light blue suit na walang necktie, white long sleeves polo na tinernuhan ng white sneakers. I slowly dropped my hands down when I recognized the man whose already talking to the emergency staff. Agad itong nilapitan ng kasama kong resident at nag-usap ang mga ito. I can't moved my feet were I'm standing and my world literally stopped upon seeing him again. 


Nasabi ko na hindi ako interesado sa love kaya kahit na anong palipad hangin ng mga co-fellow doctors o mga resident doctors sa SMMC ay hindi ko pinapansin. Deadma lang sila sa akin dahil hindi nga iyon kasama sa plano ko. The idea of falling for someone never crossed my mind not until I met this man standing not far from me. I never expected that I will see him again here not as an adventurous vlogger but a doctor. He did hid his real identity to me when we're together in Denmark.


Nakita kong lumakad siya palapit sa akin. His eyes were dark and piercing. An excitement builds up on my chest and I don't know why I'm feeling it right now. Since I left Denmark, hindi na siya naalis sa isip ko. Kaya ba gano'n na lang ka-excite ang puso ko na makita siya? 


No, Addie, love comes from the brain not from the heart. 


Napansin ko ang pagtaas baba ng kanyang balikat. Para bang hindi din nito expected na makita ako doon. I already told him that I'm a neurologist but not the hospital where I worked. Sandali akong tumingin sa baba dahil hindi ko matagalan ang kanyang tingin. Why am I suddenly became weak? No one ever succeed to intimidates me before, bukod tanging siya lang. Muli kong hinayon ang tingin ko sa kanya hanggang sa magtama muli ang mga mata. 


"G-gaano na katagal unconscious ang pasyente?" Nauutal kong tanong nang sa wakas ay tuluyan na siyang nakalapit. 


"Four hours and twenty fives minutes." Mabilis nitong sagot sa akin. "I need to see her CT scan to confirm if its cerebral hemorrhage," 


Tumango tango lang ako sa mga sinabi niya. "H-how are you?" tanong ko sa kanya. 


"May boyfriend ka na?" Umiling ako bilang sagot. "Did they fixed you to someone whom you didn't know?" Muli akong umiling at awtomatikong nangunot ang noo ko. Ano bang trip niya at gano'ng klase ang mga tanong niya? A lopsided grin flashes on his face which made me frowned. Nilagpasan lang niya ako na parang kurtina. I rolled my eyes and followed him downstairs. 


Sa ER na kami naghiwalay na dalawa dahil nasalubong niya ang grupo nina daddy na nag-iikot sa buong ospital. My daddy is the current vice president of SMMC and future president as per Dr. Sloane – the current president of SMMC. May balak na kasi itong lumipat sa Atlanta kasama ang pamilya nito kaya gusto niyang si daddy na ang umupong presidente ng ospital. Binati ko lang sila at dumiretso na ako sa diagnostic room kung saan nag-hihintay ang kasama kong resident kanina. He showed me the CT scan result and it was confirmed that the patient have cerebral hemorrhage. 


"Is that the result?" Sabay kami napalingon ng resident na kasama ko. Gaya kanina, pinakita din ng resident dito ang resulta ng CT scan. Nakita ko ang pagkunot ng noo niya habang nakatutok ang buong atensyon sa screen ng computer. 


"Will you be performing navigation aspiration?" tanong ko sa kanya. 


"I'll be performing freehand aspiration." Pareho kaming napatingin sa kanya ng kasama naming resident. Nakita naming tumingin ito sa pambisig nitong orasan bago nagsalita. "Limang oras na unconscious ang pasyente at kung tatagal pa, mamatay siya." 


"Pero delikado iyon, doc," tutol ko. Hindi ko pa din magawang i-address siya na doc. Tila may bumibikig sa lalamunan ko sa tuwing sasabihin ko ang salitang iyon.


"That's why I'm doing it." Umawang ang mga labi ko. He's full of confidence when he said those words to me. Isa siya sa pinaka-confident na taong nakilala ko sa loob ng ilang taong pamamalagi dito sa mundong ibabaw. First to him is my dad. "Prepare now the operating room and call the department of anesthesiology for assistance." 


"I already prepared it," sabi ko sa kanya. 


"Good. Let's begin." Iyon lang at iniwan na niya kami sa diagnostic room.


Tumaas baba ang mga balikat ko habang nakasunod ang tingin ko sa kanya. It was a one of a kind reunion for the two of us. Who would've have thought that our path will crossed in this kind of place? Parehas lang pala ang tinahak naming landas pero hindi ko pa din maiwasang magtanong sa isipan ko. Why does he stayed in Denmark for a long period of time? Bakit mas nagfocus siya pagiging vlogger kaysa ang maging doctor? 


Marahas akong napabuntong hininga ulit. Hindi dapat iyon ang iniisip ko ngayon dahil may pasyente akong naghihintay sa akin sa operating room. I jog my way to our changing room and get changed. Matapos iyon ay dumiretso na ako sa operating room na pina-book ko sa isang resident. Doon naabutan ko si JD na nag-scrub ng kamay nito. Taka siyang napatingin sa akin nang kumuha din ako ng pang-scrub. 


"You're coming in? Ano ka dito? You're aren't a resident here, am I right?" tanong niya sa akin. 


"Is this your way of asking how I was after I left you in Denmark?" Seryosong tanong ko sa kanya. I intently looked into his eyes, trying to find answers to my questions awhile ago. But I see none. Napaka-hirap niya talagang basahin kahit kahit noong magkasama pa kaming dalawa sa Denmark. 


"Still answering my questions with a question," aniya saka muli akong nilagpasan. I heaved another sighed, rolled my eyes and followed him inside the operating room.

Sakura just woke up at the hospital,  a week after the car accident. She managed to sit despite of her condition. Her parents went near her and she looked at her parents like a stranger. 

" Sakura honey! You're awake! " Sakura's mother,  taeyeon said and hugged her daughter. " Thank goodness" She added but sakura didn't seem to react. 

" Honey are you feeling ok?  " Her father,  Mr. Miyawaki Khun asked, looking worried at sakura

" Who are you? " Sakura asked and made taeyeon and khun shocked.  Their only daughter can't recognize them. " Why am I here?,  what happened? " Sakura kept on asking but there was no reply from her parents who are speechless. 

Khun hurriedly called the doctor and the doctor and nurses came to check sakura . The doctor sigh as he checks her. 

"Mr. and Mrs. Miyawaki,  can I talk to you for a moment outside. " The doctor said and went outside. Sakura's parents followed the doctor nervously. 

"Doctor what happened to our daughter? Why can't she remember us? " Taeyeon asked as tears started to flow out of her eyes. Khun patted his wife's back to comfort her. 

" I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. Miyawaki, I think you're daughter is suffering from amnesia.  It maybe because of the severe brain damage she had at the accident. " The doctor said

" Will her memories be back? " Khun asked 

" It is possible for her memories to come back and also not " The doctor said " I suggest you should let her see and encounter familiar things or experience. That might help bring her memories "

After talking to sakura's doctor the couple went back inside their daughter's room only to see their daughter looking around the room as if she is not uncomfortable staying inside the room.  

Tears continued to flow out of taeyeon's eyes as she see her daughter can't even recognize her own parents. Sakura looked at them  and the couple went near her. 

" Sakura honey, can't you really remember anything? " Khun asked 

" I'm sorry but I really can't. " Sakura said " Are you my parents?  " She added

"Yes honey,  I'm taeyeon your mom, he is khun your dad"  Taeyeon said and held sakura's hand

Sakura looked at her mother and felt her heart ache. She wipe the tears of her mother with her thumb 

" Don't cry eomma.. " She said " I will try my best to remember "

" Don't worry sakura's memories will come back.. Let's just help her " Khun said to his wife. The japanese is trying his best to control his tears . He didnt want to look weak infront of his wife and daughter who needed his support at the situation they're in.

" Chaeyeon... " Sakura said out of the blue.  Her parents was surprised that sakura mentioned the name of her ex husband 's name. 

" Sakura..  You remember chaeyeon? " Taeyeon asked hoping that her daughter remembers something. 

" Huh?..  Is chaeyeon a person I know? " Sakura asked her parents and her parents both nodded. 

" Actually he is you- " Khun was  cutted by her wife's hand. 

" Honey let's talk outside first. " Taeyeon said and the couple go out of the room to talk. 

" Wae?  What's wrong honey? " Khun asked confused why his wife suddenly wants to talk

" I think I know someone who can be a great help for sakura to bring back her memories.. " Taeyeon said

" Don't tell me.. Your going to a- " Khun was again cutted by his wife

" We need chaeyeon's help..  She's been with sakura since high school " Taeyeon said

" But they just got divorced 6 months ago.. " Khun said. " I don't think that's a good idea" 

" Then how can we help sakura if we didnt ask the help of 
Chaeyeon? Do you think she can remember something if we just say that chaeyeon is her ex husband? " Taeyeon said as she started to cry again " They had a lot of memories together. They've been dating for 5 years and married for  4 years.  I'm sure that chaeyeon will be a great help for sakura.. "

Khun just sigh at his wife 's decision. He knows that he can't stop his wife so he just nodded. 

" Let's not tell sakura that chaeyeon was her ex husband " Taeyeon added

" I don't know how this will gonna be but I'm always here for you  and sakura " Khun said and hugged her wife. 

CHAEYEON POV 

Its my day off and I was watching a horror movie while eating popcorn when someone suddenly called. I paused the movie that I'm watching and took the telephone.  

" Hello?  " I said

" Chaeyeon? " I heard a familiar voice.  It's sakura's mom.

" Chaeyeon we need your help.. " Mrs. Miyawaki said with teary eyes. As soon as I heard her say that I started to become seriously worried and at the same time nervous.

This is a novel encompassed with mystery, ethics, family ties, and romance. Of course, the highlights of this book are the murder cases. 
Although it’s a modern setup where none of the characters have a system or any other cheats, the Author managed to delight me with her writing, creative plots and a good pace without dragging her story. 
I marvel at the way the Author links up the clues and plot to explain the individual cases as well as paving the way to unravel the huge conspiracy behind the individual murders. Romantic plots are light-hearted so readers could take a breather from the plots of gruesome murders.

A mother's worst nightmare was getting a call about their baby being hurt. Kendra Chamberlain was in the middle of cleaning out the birdcage when the phone rang. She saw it was from Ivy's school and figured it was the nurse's office calling to say she was still sick. 
She had figured Ivy shouldn't have gone back to school already but she insisted. That girl was going to have to go to the hospital whether she liked it or not. 
"Kendra Chamberlain," she answered. 
"Hello Mrs. Chamberlain. This is Howard Beyer, Ivy's biology teacher. There was an incident today during class. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but she fainted and hit her head on the way down. She is being taken to the hospital as we speak."
Kendra nearly dropped the phone in shock. Ivy had definitely been sick but fainting? She had never fainted before!
"Which hospital?" she asked faintly. 
"Allendale Hospital. The one right off the freeway. They took her bag with them so you don't need to worry about collecting it later."
She swallowed hard. "Thank you. I'll head there right now."
"Let me know if there is anything I can do," the teacher replied before hanging up. 
Kendra whistled for Picasso, who was flying around the room in a rare moment of freedom, and he obediently landed on her outstretched finger. She had to place him back in the half-cleaned cage for the time being. Ivy needed her. 
The drive to the hospital was a stressful one. To make things worse, it seemed like she hit every single red light. Why was the universe conspiring to keep her away from her baby at a time like this?!
When she finally arrived and said she was Ivy Chamberlain's guardian they told her what was going on. Ivy had needed stitches to stop her forehead from bleeding but hadn't lost enough blood to warrant a transfusion. 
According to the basic physical exam, she should be fine so it was a bit surprising that she hadn't regained consciousness yet. All of her vitals were fine but they planned to move her to get an MRI done and check for any internal damage.
Kendra's hands trembled. Internal damage was the worst thing that could happen. Especially to her brain. She was such a bright girl who loved to learn. Losing that part of herself would be devastating to Ivy. 
They brought her back to watch what was happening on the screen in real time as they conducted the MRI. The technician was a pretty young brunette with a name tag that said "Shaelie" on it. 
She reassured Kendra what the process was and walked her through what she would be seeing on the screen. But when the images began to show Shaelie frowned. 
"What is it?" Kendra asked nervously. 
"I've never seen such an overstimulated auditory cortex before," the technician said in awe. "It's as if she is being exposed to noises above 130 decibels, which is the pain threshold for sound. As if a jackhammer or an extremely shrill alarm is going off inside her head without stopping. But her ears aren't being affected at all; the doctor checked inside them earlier." 
Kendra didn't know much about the brain. But she did know her daughter had always struggled with noise even when it didn't seem all that loud to the average person. 
Tears filled her eyes. A jackhammer or an alarm…if that much pressure was going off inside Ivy's head there was no wonder she had been so sick. 
She had complained about her head hurting when she cried on Saturday morning. She knew she should have taken her daughter to the doctor sooner!
She bit her lip. "What does that mean?" 
"…I can't say for sure. The neurologist will need to come examine the scans more closely. I take the scans but I'm not an expert at deciphering them," Shaelie admitted. "He should be here to talk to you soon."
The neurologist Dr. James came in toward the end of the MRI. He introduced himself to Kendra briefly before conferring with Shaelie in hushed tones about what was going on. A moment later the technician finished her job and left the room so they could talk. 
"Mrs. Chamberlain," he began. "I have seen a lot of brains in my day but your daughter's is a little different. The parts of the brain associated with speech and language processing appear larger and more developed than usual for her age but that isn't what is causing her pain. 
"Shaelie may have mentioned that her auditory cortex is overstimulated. Let me expound on that further. It is almost as if Ivy can hear an incomprehensible amount of noise that we can't. What is happening to her auditory cortex isn't currently connected to her ear drums or any part of the inner ear at all. 
"Normally the auditory cortex is directly connected to input from the ears but right now it is as if the input is coming from another source that we can't see on the scan. A case like this has never been recorded before. Until we can figure out how to stop her pain, it may be best to keep her sedated."
Kendra couldn't believe what she was hearing. Never been recorded? So they didn't know what to do other than stick her daughter in a medically induced coma until they figured it out? 
She kept her voice as even as possible though she was secretly furious. "For how long?"
"We would need to consult leading neurologists and otolaryngologists in the next few weeks. Those are ear, nose, and throat specialists. She may need to be transferred to the Mayo Clinic for further testing if that doesn't yield helpful enough results. They are more equipped to deal with rare cases than we are," Dr. James said as kindly as possible. 
Kendra took a deep breath. This wasn't his fault. Whatever was going on with Ivy had been happening since before she came to the hospital. If she couldn't trust doctors to help her child, she couldn't trust anyone. 
"I understand. Thank you for explaining it to me. Please tell me what paperwork I need to fill out to make this happen," she replied.
