John thought for a bit.

'The mansion is huge, and there are so many rooms.'

The mansion is vast itself. It had a second floor, a basement and an attic. The design resembles that of a European estate, and each room had a different purpose. 

'Right now, I am lacking any information, and I need a quick heads up as the previous John didn't study much on the history and only focused on developing the land.'

He regrets that John only studied in managing the land. It would be good if he should at least include some general knowledge about the World and the Kingdom they are living. The uncomfortable feeling without knowing crucial information that would determine his actions. The library is a way to go to gain the knowledge he needed and prepare because he felt that the story he made up on a whim reeks many flags.

"Let's go to the library first."

"Ehhh?! But it's so boring there."

Celine made a pouty face.

'Kawaii [1]'

John wanted to pinch those cheeks.

She didn't like going to the library as she doesn't like reading. She once went there to read but she slept halfway. She felt those books making a magic chant to make her sleep.

"Don't worry I will just read some important things and we will be back playing again."

John wanted to arm himself up for the future. He liked to be in control of everything and be the one in the shadows who will manipulate everything to protect what he had.

"If you say so…"

She retracted her pouty face, and they both walk.

'She is an angel!'

John made a mental note. His mind is already getting in shambles in the way she acts. She is the perfect definition of "The Imouto" that every brother wanted to have. The way she moves, pout, and smiles would make a healthy person have diabetes and might take a dosage of insulin in their system to cure the cuteness overload. 

John steeled his mind and his heart to focus on his objectives.  

They walk on the stairs and arrived on a door which labelled "Library."

John opened the door and saw the collection of books neatly arrange on the bookshelves. Each had a catalogue of its subject, and on the front had an artistic table with a drawer on it. The chair looks stylish, and it also had a curvy design and a cushion.

John is amazed by how clean the library and the way it was designed. John looked at the catalogue on history and found some books on its bookshelf. 

'Let me see, 'The Races of the World and its History', 'Itecegia's Kingdom Law', 'Theories on the World's Creation, 'History of Monochrome', 'The Absolute rule of Monochrome.''

John found the topic he needed the most. 

'So, there are different kinds of races that exist in the world and by far the most dominant is the elves, dwarf, demi-humans, and dragons'

He saw the map and saw the place they are living in, and by far the elves occupied a large amount of land. At the same time, the dwarf and demi-humans came in second and lastly the dragons only inhabited a small portion and became uninvolved to the worldly affairs like hermits.

The human lands are cramped every year to the monochrome and are attacked from all sides until someone changed it 15 years ago. They changed the status of humans in the world and made it peaceful to live. 

The monochrome is a chess game with strict rules that are needed to be followed by both parties. The winners are free to claim the bet both agreed by both parties upon starting and failure to comply would lead to death, and a forceful claim as the monochrome deemed it. 

The monochrome governs the world in every aspect.

John wondered who were these people as they didn't leave a name when they fight on the monochrome. 

'An enigmatic people who changed the status quo.'

It is getting interesting. There were some people who can fight against the other races who can use magic to their advantage. 

John thought that these people are incredible. 

The existence of magic made the fight on the monochrome difficult as they can silently cast spells to weaken their opponent. Humans don't have much mana in their bodies, and those people on the monochrome must have a considerable amount of mana to fight a long battle.

The elves were blessed with a tremendous amount of mana. The elves emphasized their people who had the most amount of mana to be trained on weakening and boosting spells to fight on the monochrome.

The dwarfs were blessed with strong resistance to magic. They make their most potent magic resistant dwarf on a series of weakening spell attack to improve further their resilience so that the elves cannot do their nasty spells to them. 

The demi-humans have little magic powers but are blessed with sharp instincts to detect magic and the state of the enemy. 

And lastly, the dragons are "The Dragons". They had a massive amount of mana and strong resistance to magic. 

John thought as humans are really at a disadvantage. 

'F*ck me.' 

John looked at his body, and his face twitches.

'How can you expect this body to win?! Administrators! This is a broken game! Please fix it, or I will refund!'

John shouted in his mind. 

How do you expect me to win with those monsters?

John sighs and looked at the book with a disappointed face, and he picked to read another one.

'The Absolute Rule of Monochrome?'

John saw the title and read it.

Here is the Absolute rule of Monochrome that governs the world.
1.	All things related to a conflict between two parties of the same rank will be fought on the monochrome if one party initiates it.
2.	The monochrome is absolute, and those who are affected by it are protected from harm.
3.	If the other party doesn't agree, it will be declared as defeat, and the opposite party can claim the bet unless the other party use their protection of similar rank to negate the monochrome initiated by the opposing party. The moment the protection was used, they are given an immunity depending on the level, the higher the grade, the longer the immunity last.
4.	The bet depends if both parties agree that it is of equal value.
5.	The rules above will never be changed.

Special Note
1.	The protection given to each race are all random and can gain more by winning. 
2.	The protection value and rank can only be seen on the ranking board.
3.	Higher rank protection is given when the monochrome deemed it to the winners.

Rankings
1.	A ranking board will be displayed by using the ranking mark on their left hand and can only be used by them. 
2.	A person's ranking name will be updated on the ranking board the moment they won. In the case of new players, they will have a ranking mark the moment they won an official game.
3.	A person on the ranking board is only allowed to create their ranking name only once. It cannot have a similar ranking name that is already on the ranking board.
4.	A person is given the right to use his ranking board to their liking. 
5.	A chess game can only be a piece of public information if the winner of the match agreed to make it public and it cannot be undone.
6.	A person can only search for public information on the ranking board.

John read the rules carefully line by line.

'So, the harm which stated on the second rule only means if and only if the other party is hurt, but it doesn't say anything about hindering them?'

John found the loophole in the rule mentioned above. The rules indeed made it safe for everyone involved but the problems arise if the bet includes the land and the people living on it. 

Humans are fragile beings in this world. They don't have anything noteworthy besides their quick reproduction. Few selected individuals had mana,. Still, it is only minuscule and not suitable for the monochrome, only the blessed individuals are trained and sent towards the monochrome to protect humanity.

A continental monochrome is the most dreadful thing that would happen. Imagine the rulers playing on the monochrome with the land and lives of their subjects hanging on the line. It would create enormous pressure on anyone who's playing, and the worst thing that would happen is losing.

'We're f*cked! This is a rigged game! Humans don't have an edge against those monsters'

John howl in despair. John wanted to have smooth sailing in conquering the continent, but these races are monstrosities!

'Hah, let's not think about it for now and focus what would be the best course of action I had for now.'

John read most of the rule. He looked at his left hand and saw that he didn't have a ranking mark.

The previous John has not begun his chess games which is lucky as he didn't want his nickname to be something stupid like 'Ligma Balls' or anything shameful. 

'Who the f*ck would even name it like that?' 

He wanted a badass ranking name that will be recorded on the ranking board.

'I would like to name myself as 'Meet Your Maker', 'Cool Guys Don't Look at Checkmate', 'Plebs Destroyer', 'END PLEASE', 'END GAME' or just 'END'. '

'Damn, there's so many Badass names available. I must not, no, will not get my ranking name screwed up.'

He had a dark history when he was young. 

It was his first time on the internet on an internet cafe, and everything was new to him, he had developed an interest in chess because he saw some old guys play it on the street. He searched for a game of online chess and found one and immediately registered. He had a difficulty what to name and asks for his best friend for a cool badass name.

 And as you know it he got a trolling best friend who inputted it a very shameful name.

'Kekekekeke'

His best friend made him turn around and let out a creepy small laugh. 

'It's done, you can now play.'

His best friend finally finished naming his account and let him continue what he's doing while smirking in the back. He immediately searched for a few matches and won most of them. His opponent always left a message.

'Good game, but you need to change your name coz it's making my hairs shiver.'

'Why you name your account name like that? Are you a f*cking ***?'

'Dude, for God's sake don't tell you're a goddamn h*** on the internet. F*ck, I am a straight man! A handsome straight man! And your name is making my hair stand on its end!'

He got confused about why they were reacting like that and asked his best friend back.

'Hey dude, why are they reacting like that? Is there something wrong with my name?'

He asked with a bright look of confusion in his eyes.

'No~, there's nothing wrong about it. The name I gave you is another abbreviation of superman.'

'Oh! Cool! Thanks!'

'No problem~.'

He replied with amazement, he watched superman many times, and it was his favourite cartoon. His best friend was looking at him as a retard and continued watching.

He then continued to play and still got the same message every time he played.

He got further confused as something is fishy is going on and look behind to asked again. But he saw his best friend talking to someone on his phone. His best friend told him that his parents "called" him to go home and he immediately exited the café. 

He saw his friend left and asked another person.

'Hey mister, is there anything wrong with this name?'

He pointed out on the monitor, and the mister had a look of disappointment. He would never have thought that someone so young had already become one. 

'Boy, are you gay?'

'What's a gay mister?'

He had asked a question which he did not know further much on the topic. 

'See that "guy" over there? The one with on a one-piece and a hair tie? Let me ask you is that a boy or a girl?'

The mister pointed out on a corner, and his eyes immediately followed the direction. He was wondering for a bit and finally understood.

He had a face that has eaten sh*t. 

'I am a f*cking boy!!! You f*cking !@#$%!'

On his screen it displayed his account name 'I am Gay'.

John recalled it and wanted to forget that shameful experience he had. Indeed you can't trust them doing the right things when they had known you long enough. Having an almost photographic memory is sometimes a pain. He diverted his thoughts and continued.

John thought of his ranking name when he is finally ranked. Imagining the thought of dominating the ranking board with a scary ranking name would piss their pants.

'Hue hue hue hue hue'

John's smirk and let out a creepy small laugh. His sadistic habit is laid bare for anyone to watch. 

He likes to crush amateurs and make them his b*cth---, aherm his EXP farm.

'Yeah, they are good lumps of EXP to improve and level up.'

John was immersed in his imagination while Celine besides him saw his theatrics. 

Celine watched his ever-changing facial expression.

'What is Big Brother doing?'

Celine saw his Big Brother holding a book like someone reading a music piece for a musical practice while letting out a laugh. She thought he was having fun reading them. And little did she know that her Big Brother is cooking up something "Big".

"Big Brother, why are you laughing? Is the book you're reading fun~?"

John snapped out of his imagination while Celine looked at him with gleaming eyes. 

John felt his stomach hurt as she let him saw his sadistic behaviour. It was something he didn't like someone to see him doing it, and Celine's anticipating looks made it worse for him to tell her what his thinking. Her cute innocent thought must not be tainted by evil. Men must protect it as their lives depend on it.  

'Oh God, Buddha, Allah, save me!'

John hoped someone would rescue him. John's thoughts ran fast, and he needs to come up with an excuse. He can't say that he laughs because he read the rules of monochrome as fun, that topic is something that should not be laughed at.

"Young master, young lady, we brought snacks and tea."

Emily and Diane arrived at the door while carrying a tray.

John saw them and wanted to go towards them and give worship to his saviours. Heck, he would even kneel and convert to a new religion of Maid Goddesses. 

"Yes, Big Sister Emily~, Big Sister Diane~. Let's go eat Big Brother."

Celine walked towards them and looked at what they prepare for them.

'Thank you so much to both of you, Emily and Diane. This debt shall be repaid.'

John thank them for their timely arrival and proceeded to walk on the long table on the center of the library room.

It's been three years since I came to the Harry Potter world and I learn a lot of things during these years, well first I was named Alexandre Arkhas Grindelwald, yes Grindelwald, my mother is the grandaughter of the infamous Dark Lord Gellert Grindelwald, I won't lie about this but I'm pretty happy about this fact, why? Because Grindelwald was and still is my favorite character in Harry Potter universe, by the way Severus Snape come in second. I'm happy to have the Grindelwald blood but I'm very surprised as well, I always thought that Grindelwald was gay with Dumbledore so I came with three conclusion, first I simply misunderstood their relation, second they were really gay but Grindelwald still took a wife and had descendents or third conclusion, the facts in this world and these portrayed in the books and movies are not exatly the same. I don't have enough information and enough experience in this world to verify but I think it's most likely the third conclusion, after all I never heard the name "Arkhas" in the books, this world can't be as empty at the world described in the books, after all it's just a book and doesn't contain enough materials to run a world.

By the way my twin sister was named Aurore, yes like the fucking Disney princess, oh and I was born seven minutes before her so I'm her big brother. The man I saw enter alongside my father the day of my birth is my uncle, the little brother of my father by two years and he is my godfather aswell as the one of my sister and believe me he dote us a lot, and when I say a lot it's very a lot, I 'm pretty sure he spend more time in this manor than in is own, well, despite him be very handsome, having a bright personality and being filthy rich he don't have a wife and of course don't have children so he spend almost all his time here to the happiness of all residents of the manor.

I also learned few facts about the Arkhas family, it's an ancient pure blood wizard house who come from Britain even before Merlin, yes he truly existed and was by the way probably the most powerful wizard ever born, so to return to the Arkhas family, it's a filthy rich family with a lot treasures. The Arkhas fought against Grindelwald, funny that one of them married on of his descendent, and Voldemort, my parents fought against the racist fool but stopped at the pregnancy of my mother and come to France and never leave since both of them found the paysage by far more beautiful than the Britain's one. Of course I didn't learn all of this by asking them but simply by listening some conversations, after all it would be strange if a three years old kid shows too much interest in subject he should not know.

I also learn a lot about my ability granted by Kaos according to the wishes I made that day. For the kido there is nothing much to say, it's like in Bleach, I have all the knowledge about all kido spell but need to exercise to become proficient, it's like a video game, you know how to play in theory but never actually played so you'r bad as fuck. 

For the elementalist ability I must say I was schocked, no, I was absolutely stunned, I remember asking for "a lot of affinity with a lot of elements" so I wasn't mentally prepared by the information who came with the ability, it's fucking way too overpowered and I like overpowered protagonist in novels but here I even doubt to have to use 10% of this power in Harry Potter universe, well that if there isn't any more powerful magic beast and wizard than Voldemort and Dumbledore that are shown in the books/movies. I "only" asked for the ability to freely use and manipulate the elements, well I received what I asked but I also received much more, you see, to what I received, the ability to freely use and manipulate the elements is only the first stage, well the other stages don't grant another abilities, the power granted is still the same but not at all on the same scale, and there are six stages...   

But I don't know at all how to reach the stages passed the first so in theory I have potential above anyone else but I have no fucking clue how to reach this said potential, well the first stage should make me stand above everyone and this without take in count kido and my ameliored magical core and magic reserves, I'm just affaid to be bored to death if I'm too overpowered, I think I was a little too enthusiastic about my wishes.

Oh and I also met again with my favourite cat, even if now my Yoruichi became a little kitty and of course stayed with me, I alone can hold and pet her, if not she cause mess, I feel like I'm privileged, wait who I try to fool, I don't feel privileged, I AM privileged, after all, Yoruichi is justice, uh... I mean cats are justice... Did I say that Yoruichi in Bleach is my favorite female character ever?

I also found that the entertainment here is pretty the same than the one on Earth, well I'm still on Earth but you understand what I mean right?

I will soon start to experiement with kido and my elementalist powers, let's juat call it elemental magic from now, oh and kido and elemental magic don't request a wand to use, it was pretty obvious for kido but I didn't expect it for elemental magic, It's good, I find wandless magic way more badass.

Titling my livestream, "I Intend To Self Debut", I started up my stream and waited for the fans to pour on in. Before long over 1,000,000 fans were watching my stream and I thought that this was a decent enough number to make my announcement. Clearing my throat I began to speak.



"Hello everyone, it's TheRealRaven here with a little update broadcast. I have noticed that many of you have been begging for me to debut as an idol, and to be honest I would really love to do this however it will be on my terms and on my own. I intend to save up my own money and fund my debut myself. It is as simple as that. That is all that I have to say everyone. Thanks for joining this short broadcast!" I was immediately bombarded with many questions, however deigning to not answer them, I instead swiftly ended the broadcast with a stretch and a yawn. Getting up from the computer, I headed downstairs for dinner as it was dinner time already. Mom and dad were waiting for me at the table, and mom had a warm smile on her face when I finally joined them at the table. Apologizing for making my parents wait, we dug into our biscuits and gravy with mashed potatoes on the side just because I requested it. Yeah I know I have a weird combination of foods, but I can't help it. I like what I like alright? Anyway, after a delicious dinner, I told my parents about the explosion in the number of my fans and my dad nodded sagely while my mom's jaw practically fell off of her face. Now that's the normal reaction mom! Dad quit pretending to be a badass!



Okay to be honest, my parents are both badass in their own right. They both shot up their careers during a three year period simply because I had asked them to let me live a life of luxury. I was half kidding when I said it, because I didn't honestly expect them to go through with it. However, since they did I am immensely grateful because now I can live my perfect little shut-in life of my dreams. I had always wanted to shut myself indoors playing video games all day, reading light novels and snacking on snacks and drinking on them energy drinks. And now, that it is my reality, I feel kind of lonely. Honestly the old me would have been on cloud nine at this point and to be honest during the first couple of days back I was, but now I want something more in my life. I may be a girl now, but I didn't suddenly grow an interest in men, on the contrary I am even more determined to find a beautiful girl and make her mine. I know that it is kind of unconventional and my parents will have a very hard time having grandchildren, however if I find the right guy in the future I just might consider letting them into my little harem if I build one that is. I admit I had always fantasized about building my own harem of beautiful girls and indulging myself in pleasure day in and day out with them, however now I also have to consider the possibility of adding guys into the mix also. No scratch that I would only allow one guy into the harem, too many guys would just cause trouble. From the outside it would look like some lucky guy got his own harem, but I will make it very clear that it is MY harem, and he is just a member of it. Anyway rant over, moving on to the next topic.



After calming my mom down with dad's help, I went back upstairs to my room, however I had the intentions of going for a drive to the public library. I wanted to sit in the library and read light novels in peace while enjoying a nice iced coffee and a good sandwich. Grabbing my keys, I headed downstairs with my purse over my shoulder and gave mom and dad a kiss on the cheek telling them that I am going to the library. Saying good bye to me and to stay out of trouble, I blushed as I remembered my vigilante incident. That can't happen again, or at the very least I need to make sure that I am not seen maybe wearing a disguise to hide my appearance. Walking outside with my keys in my hand I walked over to my mustang and climbed inside. Once inside I drove off in the direction of the Concert City downtown library. Five minutes later I arrived and pulled into a parking spot. Getting out, I smiled as the rays of the sun streaked down onto my face and I lifted my chin high and strutted into the library. Many gasps and whistles of admiration were heard as I made my way inside. I am at the library, now to get a light novel, order a coffee and sandwich and take a seat. 




Walking over to the light novel and manga section of the young adults section of the library, I found the perfect harem isekai light novel for some good old light reading. Heading over to the counter, I grabbed out my library card, thankful that my parents prepared one for me, and checked out the light novel. Walking over to the café area in the center of the library, I ordered a breakfast sandwich and an oreo iced coffee. Yummy! This is going to be so delicious! As I sat down and waited for my order to be brought over to me, I began reading. Five minutes later, I heard the most adorable voice ever say, "Excuse me, but I have your order here." Looking up, I felt my soul leave my body. Golden irises, chocolate brown hair and jade white skin, pink lips and standing at the same height as me was a gorgeous heaven shaking beauty of nation destroying proportions. I quickly noticed her name tag which read as, "Mei". She is Chinese! Yes score one for me! Clearing my throat as I realized that I had been ogling her for a good few seconds, I blushed crimson and said, "Y-yes, T-that's my order thank mew!" I bit my tongue at the end there, which caused Mei to giggle shyly. I felt a fire burning in my heart as I asked her, "Hey I have nothing going on today, when does your shift end? Maybe we could hang out and talk about books and stuff?" Books?! Really girl the best you got is books?! I mean I know that we are in a library but come on, can't you do better than that? However, she seemed to be an easy mark, as she looked at me with sparkling eyes, and nodded her head saying, "Actually my shift was just about to end, if you can wait 10 minutes I can join you over here." I swear the Goddess of Matches is watching over me right now! She said yes! Of course, she probably just sees me as another girl that wants to make a friend. However, I will test the waters over time and see if I can make this girl my wifey!



Those 10 minutes were like an eternity, but like any long sentence they eventually come to an end, and at long last Mei walked over to me with a faint blush on her face as she sat down shyly and said, "Hi my name is Mei and I am 18 years old! I love reading BL light novels and Yuri light novels! Yes I am one of those, and otaku but that is me!" Oh my God! I found a comrade, and she reads Yuri! There is hope for me after all then! Next I introduced myself. "My name is Raven also 18 and I also happen to be an otaku that likes the same genres of light novels as you! We will get along quite nicely don't you think?" Giggling in excitement, Mei nodded and before long we began to debate about all kinds of things such as our waifus and our mans. I laughed as we had many waifus in common. Alright, first things first, the reason why this book is short is because of the contents of the story. I only wanted to write something about the Summit, since it was such an integral part of the overall storyline. The joining of the three superpowers and the rise of the Black Masks signifies the second act of Spirit Immortal. Furthermore, it has finally set the tone for future books where the Black Masks gets to take centre stage, instead of academy rivals or competition between nations. 

There's one vital aspect of Book 7 that I wanted to get across to you guys though. And that is the existence of Lukman. When Shin first awakened his innate spiritual ability, the power to create and manipulate water, it was set that he would learn from a sand-wielding counterpart in a later book. That's why Shin hasn't been experimenting with his first spiritual ability for all this time. He just wasn't shown the way just yet. Of course, that's all going to change, and in Book 8, I finally get to write him as the badass that I'd always imagined he'll be. 

So don't worry, the pace of the story will speed up now. I know I've made that promise many times before, but this time, it really is the case. Everything will now revolve around Shin's potential and strengthening as a character. 

Also, Shin's meeting with Longyu Tian and the Luminaries from the Lantis Republic. That was a key focal point of the book that I've wanted to highlight. I'm sure many of you have guessed it by now, in fact, some had already figured it out since he awakened the Sovereign Koi, but Shin's Spirit isn't as innocent as it seems… Stay tuned to find out!

Oh, and Book 7 is also a homage to many Wuxia shows/comic books that I'd read/watched growing up. The most obvious one would be Jin Yong's books and a comic book that my uncle follows and reads to me sometimes, 'Oriental Heroes.' Also known as, Long Hu Men or Dragon Tiger Gate. I'm not sure if any of you had caught on, so I'll explain it one by one. 

The first one would be the names of the five main Master Sects of the Kori Federation. Dragon Tiger Gate, Shaolin Temple, Emei Church. These three were homages to the Wuxia background that I've read, while the other two, Khan Tribe and Dalgeom Sect, are mostly my own creations. Yes, yes, Khan is part of the Mongolian lore, but let's not get into that just yet. There's bigger fish to fry.

In many popular Wuxia fictions, the Shaolin Sect and Emei Sect were two prominent organisations. Shaolin Sect always had upright and moral men, while the Emei Sect only admitted women into their ranks. The martial arts that they used, like Brahmadhvaja Kittichat, are mostly taken from the fictions that I've read. For instance, Golden Bell Shield, Varja Body and the Iron Shirt technique are all Shaolin Sect's martial arts.

Lorian Yang's Yang Sun Spirit is actually a play on Xiao Hu from 'Oriental Heroes' and Xiao Hu's Jiu Yang Shen Gong, which literally translates to Nine Suns Divine Technique. Just like Xiao Hu, Lorian Yang creates nine suns around him, which gives him superhuman strength, regeneration and 'Qi.'

So I tried playing around with the Wuxia techniques that I know and were in awe in and placed them into this novel. Hoped you enjoyed them! Yes, yes. I know I hadn't added in popular martial arts like the Eighteen Dragon Subduing Palms, Yijingjing, the Palm of Buddha and so on and so forth. But honestly, do you guys really want to read a never-ending tournament where Luminaries from each nation showcased all of their moves? The whole point of the tournament was to create an atmosphere where Shin and Lukman could spar so that Shin could learn how to manipulate water from him! 

Alright, I'm so pumped up to continue writing Book 8! Let me spoil something for you. The ending of Book 8 was something that I've planned long ago. Even before I came up with the name Spirit Immortal or when I conceived of Shin and Ariel! How, you ask? Why don't you read and find out?

Burðrheimr, the birth lands of Humans in Midgard. This is place where Ask and Embla – the first male and female went and started the human race after their creation. Then their first descendants decided to name it Burðrheimr afterwards.

It is said that after the world itself was created, Odin and his two brothers Vili and Ve; found two pieces of tree trunks drifting in the sea. They shaped like a man and a woman with no life.
The three gods decided to give them gifts. Odin gave the two beings life, while his two brothers gave them a healthy complexion and the five senses. But the greatest gift all the three gave was the ability to use Magical Energies around them. Bearing the gifts of these three gods, they became the father and mother of the whole human race in Midgard.

As the other realms are created, other creatures also started to go down to Midgard to live. Some of them were exiles from their respective race or escapee. The only exceptions here were the Frost and Fire Giants. 

They can't enter Midgard because of a barrier around it by the World Tree. And if they try to enter it they will be destroyed upon contact of the barrier. Many have tried, few had succeeded. But when they do and started their slaughter, they get killed almost as fast as the time they used to breach the barrier of Midgard.

Well the only exception here is Jörmungandr since he is tossed here in the great ocean of Midgard that surrounds it. The Great Sea that surrounds the land of Midgard is considered as a forbidden zone for obvious reason. 

The other side of the sea can be used to go to other Realms and it is random. The Dwarves, Light Elves, Dark Elves, Demons, and Angels have their methods to travel here to Midgard but hard to get out as the only way is to cross the Great Sea. There are some exceptions to this like Dwarves and Light Elves. Dwarves have the ability to travel realms between realms but it doesn't seem to work on Dragons though as they can see them even they use it. Light Elves can connect to the World Tree itself for their travel here on Midgard.  

Over the millennia, aside from Mages that uses pure magic attacks, many professions/class have sprouted throughout the Nine Realms. The most prominent were:  Warriors being able to use many weapons like swords, bows, spears, and many more by infusing it with martial arts or magic; Berserkers are being able to use the powers of their selected "Totem god" to unleash formidable power; Shamans being able to summon animal or magical beasts to fight for them. They can also use the skills their creatures have.

The whole Empire is divided into three sections: The Outer, Inner, and Core area. 

The Outer sector which he is currently at right now is where regular people comes and stay. It also has the Market place, and the Registration office for humans to register as a citizen.

The Inner sector is where the low ranking Nobles stay. They also have a Market place just for them and the Adventurer's Guild is also where it's currently located. The most important part here Is that the Tramsarths Academy is also located here.

Lastly the Core sector where the Imperial castle is together with other important government institutions housed in. Its also where the higher ranking Nobles and their families stays.

Tramsarths Academy was created during the Era where magical beasts first appeared. Its sole purpose was to raise the humans' capability to fight them. They accept any students with aptitude to any professions. But the most prominent numbers were the Mages inside the campus.
Now entered the Empire, Nemesis thanked Fatty Lin for having him on the journey here, bowed and bids him farewell.
He first then decided to find an Inn seeing that there are so many people in the outer section currently. After some time asking he found one and checked in then left to continue exploring. 
Nemesis first went to the Market place to sell weapons and buy foods, books. Books that is especially about Magic, Martial Arts and Runes. He spent 200,000 on all of it. He still hasn't visited the other Market place in the Inner sector.
The ones in the Inner sector must have been more expensive and fewer than the ones here on the Outer sector.
As he was strolling he noticed a place where groups of people are gathering. He then asked a random guy on what is going on.
"Hey man! What's with these people grouping around here? Is there an event or something?"
The man answered. "Well this is the last day of registration for the entrance examination to enter Tramsarths Academy. It is the best Academy here on Burðrheimr. Are you here to register as well?"
"Yeah I am. Where is the end of the line?"

"It's over there and you might want to avoid making troubles as some important people have also arrived to register as well."

"Oh I'll keep that in mind thanks."

"An academy huh. It might be a good idea to enter it. Ha! I'm going to school again but this time with Swords Magic. This might be the best thing I'll ever do." He mumbled to himself as he gets into line.

It costs him 20 gold to register and he was reminded that three days later is the examination date. The registrar then warned him that if he failed to appear on the said date, he will forced to wait for another year for the next enrollment. It will of course happen inside the academy with the Headmaster and other school staff supervising.

Back at the Inn, he began planning his next actions. 

"Three days. I can use this time to do a [Rebirth] but I will not take the risk as the system said it'll take 3-5 days to complete or even more if something bad happens. I'll guess I'll try to use the Pet summoning scroll and see what awesome pet I'll be getting. Ha! I hope its badass that it'll intimidate people when they see it." he said merrily to himself.

"System, if I use the Pet summoning scroll here, will I trigger something weird here? Like a phenomenon or something? I don't want to cause ruckus here as I am in the Outer sector right now."
[Yeah it might, host. The summoning is random, so it might trigger or not trigger a phenomenon. As I say this, the system recommends you to do it outside to minimize having a commotion.]

"Whew. I guess I'll do it tomorrow then. Good thing I asked the system first or I'll be in deep shit right now and I'm tired today anyways."

He then ordered three bowls of noodles, one pot roast, steamed dumplings and beer downstairs to be taken to his room first before cleaning himself and going to sleep. He really wants to sample it when he saw it downstairs.

"Good thing they have room service here. Hahaha."

At Miluo Island, after seeing the many scryer recordings, he had mentioned to Castle Master Mosi the fact that he was headed for Indigo Prefecture, and Mosi had discussed the Four Divine Beasts clan.

From what Mosi had said, it seemed as though the Four Divine Beasts clan had fallen on hard times.

But even despite that, it should still be almost comparable to the Bagshaw clan.

“The Bagshaw clan, at Miluo Island, is in complete control. No one dares offend them! Despite countless years having passed, Miluo Island’s fame remains widespread. There’s no way something like this could happen at Miluo Island, where those who serve the Bagshaw clan will be killed!”

Linley really couldn’t believe it.

The Indigo Prefecture could be said to be the main headquarters for the Four Divine Beasts clan. How could something like this happen within the borders of the mighty Four Divine Beasts clan? How could a truly powerful clan allow something like this to happen?

Anyone who thought about it for even a moment would understand.

If a truly powerful clan encountered something like this, they would definitely eradicate the entire ‘Boleyn clan’, killing them as a warning sign to frighten others!

“The situation doesn’t make sense.” Linley narrowed his eyes. The joy he had felt upon arriving at his clan’s territory instantly evaporated, and Linley began to worry. It seemed as the situation the Four Divine Beasts clan was in wasn’t what he had thought it would be.

In the metallic lifeform, Tarosse, Bebe, Delia, and the others were all mystified by what they had just seen.

Tarosse said with a solemn look, “Linley, it seems as though the Four Divine Beasts clan doesn’t have much power within Indigo Prefecture.” When Linley had invited Tarosse and the others to Indigo Prefecture, he had said that that within the Indigo Prefecture, given the strength and influence of the Four Divine Beasts clan, they shouldn’t encounter any more dangers.

But now, it seemed…

“I don’t understand either.” Linley’s face was solemn.

After all, he had never gone to the Four Divine Beasts clan before. All he knew, he gained from outside sources of information.

“I’m sorry. It seems as though I’ve caused everyone to enter a dangerous situation.” Linley couldn’t help but say towards Olivier, Tarosse, and the others. When he had invited them to come with him, he had wanted for all of them from the Yulan continent to be together and that there wouldn’t be much danger.

As he saw it, there shouldn’t be any dangers in the main lair for his clan.

But it seemed he was wrong!

Dylin laughed. “Linley, don’t worry about it. No matter what happens, my life can be considered to belong to you. What have I to fear?”

“Let’s go. Even if someone wants to kill us, first they have to have enough power to do so!” Tarosse said.

Linley nodded. If the Four Divine Beasts clan was comparable to the Bagshaw clan, then, as an incredibly powerful force, there was no way they would simply be destroyed. As the saying goes, a camel which died of starvation is still larger than a horse.

Mosi’s words implied that the weakened Four Divine Beasts clan was still comparable to the Bagshaw clan.

But before its downfall?

How could such an originally incomparably powerful clan possibly be completely destroyed?

“Let’s go to Fansi City first.”

Fansi City was a city in the eastern part of Indigo Prefecture, and was the first city which Linley’s group was heading towards in Indigo Prefecture. Fansi City was just like every other city in the Infernal Realm; it was very bustling!

The streets were rowdy and filled with people everywhere.

“Boss, where shall we go to find the location of the Four Divine Beasts clan?” Bebe asked, puzzled.

The War God, O’Brien, laughed. “Any place works. For example, the Fiend Castle. We can just ask some people there. There are definitely people here in the Indigo Prefecture who know quite a bit regarding the exceedingly famous Four Divine Beasts clan.”

Asking around at the Fiend Castle was indeed an excellent idea.

“No rush. Let’s go to the Bloodridge Castle first!” Linley said.

The Redbud Continent had Redbud Castles, while the Bloodridge Continent had Bloodridge Castles. The two were the same; they both purchased and sold large quantities of items.

“Why are we going to the Bloodridge Castle?” Dylin asked.

“Bebe, do you still remember how we had gone shopping for books that time in the Redbud Castle?” Linley turned to look at Bebe, who hurriedly nodded. “I remember. That time, we went to buy some books regarding the geography of the Infernal Realm.”

“Right. Last time, we only went to investigate the general geography of the Infernal Realm, which is why in the books we bought, the information regarding each of the 108 Prefectures was very brief. But that time, however, we did see quite a few books which discussed each prefecture in detail.”

There had been five or six centimeter thick books that discussed each prefecture.

Those detailed books each focused on one prefecture, and naturally would discuss and point out some of the unique areas in a prefecture, as well as provide some very detailed information on some of the most powerful clans. Most likely, even some ultimate experts would be described within.

Delia’s eyes lit up, and she nodded in agreement. “Buy one which goes into detail regarding the ‘Indigo Prefecture’. The Four Divine Beasts clan is very famous in Indigo Prefecture. It will definitely be described in detail, and the location will be clearly mentioned as well.”

Linley laughed and nodded.

If they asked others, others might point them to a specific place which they didn’t even know was located where.

After all, they had never had a detailed map of the Indigo Prefecture. They only knew the rough geography of the place. By buying a detailed book regarding the Indigo Prefecture, they would even get a clear understanding of the geographical information in the Indigo Prefecture.

“Buying books? I’ve never gone book shopping in the Infernal Realm.” Tarosse laughed.

“You normally lived on Miluo Island. Why would you need to buy books? You’d only go buy them when you needed them.” Linley said, then headed towards the Bloodridge Castle.

The three castles in every single city were bustling with activity. Following the flow of people, Linley’s group quickly reached the Bloodridge Castle. At the gate to the Bloodridge Castle, there were Bloodridge Army soldiers standing guard.

“Heh heh, I must say, the uniform of the Bloodridge Army is quite stylish. It’s much better than that of the Redbud Army and the Starmist Army.” Bebe said softly as he looked at the Bloodridge Army soldiers at the gates.

Linley glanced at them. “The baleful aura it emanates is rather heavier than that of the Redbud Army and the Starmist Army.”

“Let’s go.” As he spoke, Linley led the group into the first floor of the Bloodridge Castle. The way the Bloodridge Castle was organized was quite similar to the Redbud Castle. Linley’s group easily found the room which specialized in selling a large number of books.

In the room, there were only three people, one of whom was the staff member.

“What do you want to buy?” Seeing Linley’s group walk in, and that most were Highgods, the staff member immediately came to welcome them.

“Which book has information regarding the location of the Four Divine Beasts clan?” Bebe was the first to say.

But Linley said, “This place should have a detailed description of the entire Indigo Prefecture, right? Give me that book.”

“We do.” The female staff member withdrew an enormous, black covered book that was two fingers thick, then walked over and handed it to Linley. “This one should be the book with the most complete introduction to the Indigo Prefecture.”

Linley immediately accepted it and began to flip through it.

This book, in its table of contents, was divided into ‘geography’, ‘dangerous areas’, ‘famous people’, ‘clans’…and so on and so forth. From the table of contents, Linley easily found the top ranked ‘Four Divine Beasts clan’.

“Page 158!” Linley couldn’t help but grow excited.

The first thing which drew Linley’s attention was…

The Four Divine Beasts clan was actually the general term for four mighty clans of divine beasts.

They were:

The Azure Dragon clan: The Redding [Lei’ding] clan!

The Vermilion Bird clan: The Nimo [Ne’mo] clan!

The White Tiger clan: The Laius [Li’e’si] clan!

The Black Tortoise clan: The Bowen [Bo’wen] clan!

The Four Divine Beasts clan was led by the Azure Dragon clan, the Redding clan. The four great clans were joined together into one, and were spread throughout the Four Higher Planes…

While reading the detailed information regarding the Four Divine Beasts clan, Linley couldn’t help but begin to sweat. The history of the Four Divine Beasts clan simply astonished Linley. So originally, the Four Divine Beasts clan wasn’t just limited to the Infernal Realm!

“Divine Water Plane, Divine Earth Plane, Divine Fire Plane, Divine Wind Plane, and the Four Higher Planes of the Celestial Realm, Netherworld, Infernal Realm, Life Realm…they all have branches of the Four Divine Beasts clan!”

Linley was completely thunderstruck.

Based on the description within the book, the Four Divine Beasts clan was considered an extremely, terrifyingly powerful clan throughout the Four Higher Planes as well as the Seven Divine Planes. They were spread everywhere, but of course, in the Infernal Realm, Indigo Prefecture was a headquarters for the Four Divine Beasts clan.

“They are so powerful?” Linley found it hard to believe.

“Boss, lemme see.” Bebe, seeing the look on Linley’s face, couldn’t help but snatch the book over from Linley and begin to read it carefully as well. As he read, Bebe’s eyes began to grow round. “Wow, Boss, the Four Divine Beasts clan is really badass.”

Delia leaned over to look as well.

“They really are quite formidable.” Delia was stunned as well.

“We can leave now. I now know where the Four Divine Beasts clan is located.” Linley couldn’t help but smile. The Four Divine Beasts clan was the root and foundation of his own Baruch clan, which could only be considered one of the many branches.

Naturally, Linley was delighted at how powerful the main clan was.

“Wait.” Linley suddenly frowned.

“You are looking for the location of the Four Divine Beasts clan?” Suddenly, a clear voice rang out.

Linley’s group turned to look. The speaker was that female staff member.

The female staff member laughed and said, “If you want to just follow the information in the book to look for them, there’s no way you’ll find the Four Divine Beasts clan.”

“Eh?” Linley was stunned.

“Why not? Is the book fake?” Bebe immediately asked.

The female staff member shook her head. “No, the descriptions in the book are real.”

“If they are real, then why can’t we find them?” Bebe said.

The female staff member laughed. “This book is in general circulation and for sale in every single city in the Infernal Realm. Because the Infernal Realm is too vast, just sending it out to each location will most likely take a thousand years.”

Linley nodded. To send it throughout the Infernal Realm, it would indeed take upwards of a thousand years.

“Because the shipping process alone takes so much time, the geographical information in the book will be re-evaluated and updated once every million years. This book is several hundred thousand years old, and it described what the situation was like for the Four Divine Beasts clan hundreds of thousands of years ago.” The female staff said.

The Infernal Realm was vast and endless. A million years, in the ancient history of the Infernal Realm, really wasn’t much.

“Are you saying…?” Linley began to understand.

“Right.” The female staff member laughed. “If you asked others, they might not know, but since I’ve always lived in Indigo Prefecture, I’m quite familiar with the Four Divine Beasts clan. The Four Divine Beasts clan, roughly ten thousand years ago, underwent a huge change. The branches that had been located in the Divine Planes or the other Higher Planes all returned and regrouped here in the Indigo Prefecture of the Infernal Realm.”

Linley now understood.

Lord Beirut had not deceived him. The current Four Divine Beasts clan really was in Indigo Prefecture.

Delia asked, puzzled, “What caused the Four Divine Beasts clan to summon and concentrate all of their branches here in the Indigo Prefecture?” Delia didn’t understand.

“I’m not sure.” The female staff member said with a laugh. “That year, a large number of experts of the Four Divine Beasts clan returned, but when they did so, they shook the entire Indigo Prefecture, because when they returned, they brought countless battles with them!”

“Countless battles?” Linley was stunned.

“Right.” The female staff member nodded, then laughed. “But of course, I’m just a minor figure, and what I know is limited. All I know is that back then, the battles were quite fierce. Afterwards, the Four Divine Beasts clans that had been scattered throughout Indigo Prefecture all came together at one location.”

“One location?” Linley still clearly remembered what that book he had read had said.

As that book had described it, in the Four Divine Beasts clan, each of the four clans was located in one of four locations.

“Right. The Four Divine Beasts clans are living quite close to each other now. The place they live is known as the Skyrite Mountains!” The female staff member said.

Hearing this, Linley immediately thought back to when he had first read the book giving a general introduction to the geographical features of the Infernal Realm, and the information it had regarding the Skyrite Mountains. The Skyrite Mountains were a very famous area within the Indigo Prefecture.

It could, in fact, be described as the mountain range which symbolized the Indigo Prefecture.

"Y- You finished them both already?!" said the old librarian. "But it's only yesterday that you borrowed them..."
Li Yundong smiled and slid the Surangama Sutra and Records of the Pure Heart across the counter.
The old librarian didn't reach out to take the books.
"Yeah. Finished them both. Cover to cover." Li Yundong smiled. "Actually, I'm here for two new books."
The old librarian shook his head slightly.
Li Yundong laughed. Poor guy. He probably hadn't seen a lot of avid readers around here.
"Anyway. Return these two for me, please?" Li Yundong tapped the cover of the Surangama Sutra. "I'll get those two books on my own."
After that, he left the slack-jawed old man at the counter and headed over towards the shelves.
He found Zhang Zhongjing's Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases in no time. The second book, Compendium on Elixir-Based Resurrection, was a collection of articles on the subject of internal alchemy. This one took a bit longer to find, but he found it eventually. After that, he brought both books back to the counter.
"You really don't specialize at all, do you?" The old librarian stared at the two books that Li Yundong had just placed on the counter. "These aren't even Buddhist texts. This one is... what the hell is this...? This one's a Taoist medical text! And another book on internal alchemy?" The old librarian looked up from the counter. "What else do you know, eh, kid?"
Li Yundong smiled. "A little bit of this and that." Li Yundong shrugged. "I might not be able to understand all of them at the moment. But with time, I might be able to grasp all of the contents."
The old librarian chuckled and shook his head. "You remind me of someone."
Okay. That was interesting. 
"Who?"
The old librarian looked up from the books. 
"Why, the great poet, Tao Yuanming, of course!"
Li Yundong had no idea who that was other than that he was a poet. 
Li Yundong left the library with both books and made his way to the academic building. A lively atmosphere permeated the campus' compound. Li Yundong didn't think he had ever seen so much activity on campus before. Freshmen wandered about in large groups, infusing the air with their seemingly endless enthusiasm. The seniors could also be seen milling about the compound. Most of them were busy checking out the freshmen, making frivolous remarks about their appearance.
"Ooh, that guy looks cute."
"Dude, that new chick is a total bombshell."
Sometimes, Li Yundong wished the Jindan hadn't enhanced his normal hearing. He would've invested in a pair of good quality earbuds if he weren't so damn broke.
A sudden thought made him stop right in the middle of the compound.
It was a realization: months ago, he was just the same as these people.
That thought filled his heart with pang of yearning. If Su Chan hadn't flitted into his life like a colorful butterfly and changed the course of his fate, he'd still be that fat, mediocre, and inconsequential homebody. It disgusted him how lazy he'd been back then. No wonder those 21 girls rejected him. What did even have to give them? He was just some useless guy wasting away his youth, doing nothing of consequence.
It wasn't until now that he realized just how much of life he'd missed out on. Those moments he'd spent with Su Chan were ones that he would cherish for the rest of his life. Even the harsh journey to Tibet had brought him more satisfaction than his comfortable but meaningless old life.
Li Yundong was greeted with silence when he stepped into the academic building's ground floor. He strode on, ignoring the strange looks that he was receiving from everyone. Even though the academic building was crowded, Li Yundong didn't find it difficult to navigate through the crowd—most guys gave him a wide berth the moment they saw him.
Past the crowd, he slowly made his way towards the staircase.
That was when the whispers began.
"Who's that dude? Why did everyone become quiet the moment he entered? Is he a mob boss or a super crime lord or something?"
Li Yundong smirked. That one must be a freshman.
"A mob boss?" said another guy in a derisive tone. "You think everyone will stoop to your level?"
That guy sounded more experienced. Probably a sophomore...
"Who is he then?" challenged the freshman. "And how can anyone be more badass than a mob boss?"
"Tsk, tsk. You really need keep yourself up to date, pal," said the sophomore. "That guy, is a legend around here."
"A legend?"
"Just go check the old forum posts, man."
Li Yundong shook his head and quickly climbed up the staircase. In the past, hearing nonsense like that would've made his ego swell to the size of an elephant. But right now, he felt nothing.
None of that stuff mattered anymore.

Li Yundong saw Sun Li the moment he entered the lecture hall. He smiled and gave her a nod. After that, he kept scanning the lecture hall until a sinking sensation formed at the pit of his stomach: there were still no signs of Zhou Qin.
Li Yundong took his usual seat at the back of the lecture hall and waited for the lecture to begin.
When the lecture ended, Li Yundong sought out the one person he knew might be able to help him track down Zhou Qin.
"Ding Nan!"
Relief coursed through Li Yundong when Ding Nan stopped at the first row of the lecture hall at the sound of his voice.
Slowly, Ding Nan turned around.
It surprised him a little how much Ding Nan had changed over the past two months. Gone were the fashionable and revealing clothes. Today, she was wearing a pale-green casual dress. The dress seemed plain and a total opposite of flashy. With her hair down and minimal makeup, Ding Nan looked just like a normal student.
Ding Nan smiled when she saw him. "Li Yundong? Oh, wow! It's been two months since I last saw you! And you're..." Ding Nan paused as if to gather her thoughts. "Wow… You look even more handsome now."
Li Yundong acknowledged the compliment with a smile. "Thank you. You look great too, by the way. Actually, I was wondering if you've seen Zhou Qin lately."
Ding Nan's face fell.
"I knew there has to be a reason you're initiating a conversation with me. I knew it." Ding Nan's eyes flashed angrily. "So this is about her again, huh? The great Zhou Qin." Ding Nan snorted derisively. "Seems like I've flattered myself."
Li Yundong could feel his own smile faltering.
"Wait... I thought... I thought you guys have made up," he said. "I mean, I saw you talking to each other that night at Shengyuan Hotel..."
Li Yundong regarded Ding Nan for a moment. Ding Nan's expression seemed conflicted, like she was struggling with something.
Li Yundong cleared his throat. "Anyway. I... uh... I just found it a little strange that she isn't here with you today, since you've made up and all that—"
"Whatever," Ding Nan snarled and stormed off.
"Hey, wait up—"
Ding Nan stopped at the door and shot him a scathing look. "You have her number, don't you? Why don't you just call her yourself?!"
The door closed with a loud bang.
Li Yundong glanced around at the empty lecture hall, then lowered his gaze to the floor.
A phone call. If only it were that easy. He'd already sold off his phone during his journey to Tibet. And why didn't he at least try to memorize Zhou Qin's phone number before he sold off his phone? Stupid.
With a heavy sigh, he picked up his backpack and left the lecture hall.

Just when Li Yundong was about to make a turn towards the stairway, his senses tingled again: someone was trying to grab him from behind.
He leaped to the side and turned around, fully expecting to see another attempt to steal the Fan of Seven Treasures. Instead, he heard a feminine yelp. Feng Na was stumbling forward after her hand had missed his back.
Li Yundong grabbed her arm just in time to prevent the poor girl from tumbling down the whole flight of stairs.
"Be careful," Li Yundong said. "Geez…"
Feng Na stared up at him with glassy eyes. "Thanks. I thought I saw you yesterday outside the girls' dorms, but I couldn't really tell if it was you."
Li Yundong chuckled. "I haven't changed that much, have I?"
Stupid question. Of course he'd changed. He'd just returned from a long hike to frigging Tibet. Plus, his hair was a bit longer now, and his skin tone a bit darker. Not to mention he was much leaner now.
"Um... You... Um..." Feng Na kept stammering and fumbling with her words.
Then, someone giggled loudly.
Li Yundong looked past Feng Na's shoulders and saw Cheng Cheng walking towards them.
"God, look how much you've changed..." Feng Na had apparently recovered enough from her shock to form coherent words. "What on earth happened to you?" She reached out as if she wanted to touch his face, but then quickly let her hand drop when she realized what she was about to do.
Li Yundong smiled. "Well. Let's just say that I had a productive summer."
Cheng Cheng stopped beside Feng Na. "Tsk, tsk. What have you been up to during the summer holidays, Li Yundong? It's like you're a changed man."
Li Yundong smirked. You wouldn't believe it even if I tell you.
Li Yundong kept that thought to himself.
"Something significant must have happened..." Feng Na said all of a sudden. "Something happened during the summer holidays."
Li Yundong tensed up slightly. Women and their sixth sense...
Li Yundong covered up his reaction with a friendly smile.
Then, from the corner of his eyes, he saw Cheng Cheng nudging Feng Na with her elbow.
"Oh! Um..." Feng Na said. "Why don't we... Why don't we have lunch together? My treat!"
Li Yundong laughed. "Seriously?"
"Of course I'm serious."
Li Yundong chuckled. "You're letting me take advantage of you on the first day of the semester? How generous."
Cheng Cheng suddenly giggled. "Here's the thing, Li Yundong. Nana over here…" She started nudging Feng Na with her elbow again. "…is actually dying to let you take advantage of her." Cheng Cheng wiggled her eyebrows. "Dying."
Li Yundong glanced at Feng Na whose face was now as red as a tomato.
Cheng Cheng yelped when Feng Na suddenly pinched Cheng Cheng's waist.
"Shut up, you bitch!" Feng Na began slapping Cheng Cheng's arm. "Shut! Up! Ugh! Who gave you permission to talk?!"
Li Yundong watched in amusement as the two girls tried to overpower each other.
At one point, Feng Na stopped her various attempts to inflict bodily harm on Cheng Cheng and gave him a sheepish look.
Feng Na cleared her throat. "S- Sorry you had to see that."
Li Yundong shrugged it off. "It's fine. So. Where are we having lunch?"
"Hey, Nana. Didn't you say you wanted to check out that restaurant the other day? But then President Cao showed up and the plan got cancelled… Why don't we just go there today?"
Feng Na smiled. "Great idea..." Feng Na suddenly frowned and looked past Li Yundong's shoulders. "Um... Where's Su Chan? Why isn't she with you today? You guys are usually joined at the hips..."
Li Yundong tensed up again, then quickly covered up his reaction with a smile. "She's with her teacher now... So..."
"Oh... Um… When is she coming back?"
"I'm not sure," Li Yundong said. "But I'll go look for her in two months."
Nothing else was said as the three of them made their way down the staircase. Li Yundong was grateful for the silence. He didn't want to think about where Su Chan might be right now, or about the uncertainties that lay ahead of them.
Nevertheless, he was grateful because he still had two things that connected him to Su Chan: the long, bulky object behind his back; and the organ beating against his ribcage.
