With final exams looming closer Yukio firmly pushed the scandal aside. Besides, apart from their English teacher most of the school staff had been surprisingly quiet about Urufu's and Kuri's rumoured night-time activities.
Now he sat in the inner room of the Stockholm Haven café which had been fully converted into their new club-room just in time for the cessation of all club activities in preparation of their exams.
Noriko sat together with Kuri going through math problems with the famous model turned slut. By their side Sango-chan and Kyoko ran through the same problems but at a distinctly higher pace and without Noriko's help.
"And this one?" Ryu asked from Yukio's right.
"Same. Look, if you replace the numbers with letters it's a lot easier to detect the pattern," Urufu said.
"Pattern?" That was Nori-kun, and Yukio noted how another two club-members congregated around them to follow Urufu's explanation.
'Now this is just hysterically funny,' Yukio thought. Urufu the flunky teaching math. 'But he's not really a flunky is he? Didn't he have a college exam from engineering?'
"Yes, by token substitution you'll be able to immediately identify equalities on both sides and remove them. Clears the real problem from excess data. See the pattern now?" Urufu said and crossed out almost a third of the information on the whiteboard.
Yukio watched him leave the white-board and walk over to the one where another group were struggling with English. Despite bombing that topic on his midterms virtually every club-member knew his English knowledge was superior to what any teacher at school could muster.
'And I think you have a better grasp of Japanese history than I do by now. What kind of study monster are you?'
Truth be told the only thing that kept Urufu from popping up on the wall was his written Japanese. By now Yukio recognised the difference when Urufu spoke about or listened to the material they had to study compared to when he was forced to rely on his reading skills.
'And you're closing that gap as well. It's scary how much better you are at reading and writing now.'
Kuri was the same. Even though she paled in comparison to Urufu, her Japanese had improved by huge strides since summer. That realisation made Yukio a bit uncomfortable. He hadn't known how important the preferred language was for grading other subjects.
'Would I look like an idiot if I had to go to school abroad? Or even Noriko?' Yukio pushed the last thought away. Noriko failing exams was ludicrous. She was one of the best freshmen at Himekaizen after all, with results that probably placed Todai within reach of her aspirations.
In the background he heard Urufu's strangely melodic explanation when he gave examples in Japanese for the English text they were analysing. Whenever he read a sentence aloud for the group to hear the correct pronunciation Kuri interrupted him with a laugh and read it twice. As far as Yukio understood she delivered one version in some kind of British English and then in American English.
Urufu grimaced but never protested. Instead he told his group they should listen to Kuri because her spoken English far surpassed his.
"How good is she?" Yukio shouted when he tired of Urufu belittling himself.
Everyone by the whiteboard turned, and Yukio saw Kuri glance at Urufu rather than the one to blame for the interruption.
"Depends," Urufu said. "As for pronunciation she bulldozes right over me. There's no comparison."
"Depends?" Kuri said to test the waters.
"Well, I'd guess your vocabulary is between half to two thirds of mine. What's your take?"
"Spoken, close to ten thousand words," Kuri suggested and grinned.
"Damn! You're just as good as I suspected."
"And you? Native level is around fifteen thousand."
"Native college level, yeah. I'm above that average."
Kuri's eyebrows shot up. "What kind of vocabulary do you have?"
"The tests couldn't measure above sixteen thousand, so I don't really know."
Kuri palmed her face. "He killed the test. Why am I not surprised?"
"What tests?" Sango-chan asked.
Both Kuri and Yukio shot Urufu warning glares.
"There were some… ah..." Then Urufu must have caught up with the looks he got from the friends who knew about his first life. "Ah, there are proficiency tests, and I took a few before moving here," he finished.
'You took a few before moving here. Well that's one way of expressing it.'
"You took a few tests at college level?"
'You're not out of the woods yet. Think, think!'
It was painfully visible how Urufu tried to come up with a plausible explanation, but in the end he lit up in a bright grin. "I like programming, and most of the literature is in English, so I needed to learn it to read the books."
That had to suffice, and from what Urufu had said earlier it partially explained his knowledge of math.
"But you failed your midterms," came a less than helpful comment from Nori-kun.
Urufu's face clouded over. "I didn't in Sweden," he said in a subdued voice.
"Huh?" That was Nori-kun again.
"Guys," Kuri said. "Here in Japan we're graded on how well we can express our English knowledge in Japanese, but neither Ulf nor I are Japanese. When we translate we usually translate from English to Swedish in our heads."
'And that's a lie,' Yukio thought. 'You both told me you don't translate at all any longer.' Then it struck him why Urufu had lived through such problems with his Japanese, and a moment later Yukio understood how Urufu's spoken Japanese had developed so insanely fast the last months. 'You've stopped translating Japanese as well!'
With that line of thought something clicked inside his head. Suddenly Urufu's explanation of learning models made sense. 'Learn the rules, break the rules, write the rules' Urufu used to say when he tried to describe what he called analytic-synthetic learning or reverse triple loop learning.

Murakami: Not necessarily publishing houses only accept works they think will sell.

Zenith: The ones who get it big the first time are rare.

Murakami: So you might not see how they built up to their debut novel. Authors can have 15-20 scrapped novels b4 they debut, and the public don't get to read a single one.

Reili: Yikes.

Xandarx: Yeah.

Zenith: That doesn't make the author lose his experience of writing those scrapped novels that's the point I was making.

Murakami: But it also means that it's more like hit and miss.

Reili: True because they don't get the feedback from fans.

Murakami: They get limited feedback from an agent/editor who doesn't want to read their work.

Zenith: Yeah, but it surely is better than nothing.

Murakami: And they're left with a bunch of abstract and vague advice that they have no idea how to implement.

Reili: If they don't enjoy it, the feedback won't be as insightful.

Zenith: They can learn from their mistakes from reading their own works.

Reili: Well…

Zenith: If possible, from platforms.

Murakami: If they knew how to do that they'd fix it and publish it.

Reili: It would make the process easier if someone who enjoys the book to give them better feedback.

Zenith: It's called rewriting from scratch, and it takes a tonne of time if the author feels more interested in some other idea of his, he would do that.

Reili: I suppose so since the author being inspired will bring his book along.

VKBoy: If the ones giving review are professional editors, then they don't necessarily have to have read your work with immersion because their suggestions will still likely cover the basic flaws that amateurish writers usually make.

Reili: Point taken.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: @VKBoy if they spot those errors they'll put down the manuscript after the first page

Reili: Then again, its a little bit like movie critics. They may hate the movie, but fans love it.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: And then send a reply saying, "Don't send in another manuscript until you learn how to write properly."

Zenith: Professionals in the said field prefer not taking risks. Especially in movies, but books, you can keep trying.

VKBoy: Well, if there are errors in the first page itself, that's a whole different thing, lol.

Reili: True.

Murakami: No, but a good editor can tell the writing quality from just the first page even if you've crafted it perfectly, they can just tell that the rest will be shit.

Reili: You have to also take into account of one punch man. The original comic looks terrible, but the redraw made it amazing.

Zenith: That's smartness of the creator.

VKBoy: Well, in one punch man's case, it got attention from the companies after it got popular in the online communities.

Reili: So a persons writing and grammar may be terrible, but with a little editing, the story itself could be amazing.

Zenith: You can let the editor do the Shi*t and focus on your story, It works.

Overlord Venus: Yeah, solo leveling is a good example. The story is bland.

Reili: But it would also help if the author re-reads the edit to make sure the essence of their story is still there.

HavenlyJeep: Essence and core backbone.

Zenith: @Reili It depends on what the author wants, and how much work he is willing to put in.

Reili: @Zenith true.

VKBoy: Of course, some editors just butcher the style of the author.

Reili: Same but honestly I just use Grammarly and the read aloud function in word to make sure the chapter makes sense.

Zenith: You can learn about writing, grammar, editing if you truly want. It is just the question of, would you?

Reili: I'm more into thinking up ideas and writing them than editing.

VKBoy: Editing is also writing, mate. Rewriting is where real writing lies.

Zenith: It's a skill in writing a story, but your choice.

Reili: Point taken.

Murakami: You can't be a writer without being an editor.

Zenith: Editing it yourself can help you keep the heart of the story.

Reili: That being said, the more I write, the better my basic grammar became.

Zenith: You will keep the feels right.

Reili: Editing is now part of the process.

Zenith: And not make it just sound or look better, you give what the story wants
And that is a great thing.

Reili: Creative freedom.

Zenith: I want to learn grammar and revise what I learned.

VKBoy: @Zenith Learning grammar will take years, so take it slow and steady. That way, memories stick with you for longer times.

Reili: I do read mtl sometimes since I can't wait for chaps, but then I find myself reading in broken English and must stop.

Murakami: I'd like to correct that statement VKBoy. Learning grammar is easy
learning "usage" is hard.

VKBoy: lol, if you read mtl, your IQ drops. Believe me, this can affect a person's writing skill in the long run.

Reili: Definitely, which is why I stopped.

Author's Notes

I'm sure you've read this a few times in the previous chapters, but I had been reading MTL chapters for the past few years. I usually read "Completed" stories, and most of them are around 2-4k chapters each. Of course, I read the translated chapters first. After I reach the latest translated chapter, I will immediately jump to *cough* Google Translate.

Yeah~ I know. Reading chapters through Google Translate was the most…epic mistake I did in the past. I've finished World Defying Dan God, Battle Through the Heavens uhh…and a few more novels using Google Translate.

In the later years, I discovered lnmtl.com, which gave me a better translation (at least the names of the characters are not written like Cloud Che instead of Yun Che (Against the Gods). 

To be perfectly honest, If I didn't start writing, I would have continued to read these machine translated chapters even now. Reading MTL works if English is not your first language.

This is something that those with English as their main language will scoff at. However, for those who just want to read. As in reading something without worrying about anything else, then they won't care even if it's a machine translated chapter. As long as they will be able to read the NEXT chapter, then it's all good.

This is also the reason why I admire translators. If not for them, these stories that we are not aware of will not be able to grace us with their presence. I would like to thank the translators of my favorite novels like Lord of Mysteries, Release that Witch, Against the Gods, Cultivation Chatgroup, Second Coming of Avarice, and so many other titles that I won't be able to list here.

To my beloved readers, if there will come a time when you feel like writing a story of your own and you're reading machine translated chapters, please stop now. I'm saying this for your own good. 

I understand how you feel. Believe me I do, but for the sake of the story you're going to write in the future, heed my advice. Stop now, while you still have the chance. Learning how to write from scratch with broken English is a painful process.

Then again, if you find an editor who is a masochist, consider yourself lucky. Let them clean up your mess for you, so you can focus on writing your story, and learn the art of writing while you write.

The next few weeks flew by in a blur, and before I knew it, December was upon us, and Christmas break was rapidly approaching. Unfortunately, translating the journal was proving harder than I imagined, as my friends didn't have much time to help. It seemed like our teachers resented the two weeks we would be missing and were determined to force everyone to make up for the time we would be missing. 

One night I found myself pouring over the journal in the Ravenclaw common room. Sick of trying to translate the scribbled writings of a madman, I rubbed my eyes in frustration.

Across from me I heard someone snicker, really annoyed at whoever was mocking my struggles, I turned and found Jessica sitting on the couch across from me acting all innocent.

Scowling at her, I complained, "Stop distracting me, I'm trying to concentrate."

Smirking at me, Jessica teased, "What's wrong? Finally, come across something you aren't instantly good at."

Pointing towards the journal, I grumbled, "Oh shut up, you can't imagine how difficult this is."

Jessica came over and sat next to me and asked, "What are you doing? That doesn't look like any of the homework we have to turn in. Unless you're taking a class I'm unaware of."

Glaring hatefully at the journal, I replied, "It's not; it's a personal project. I'm trying to translate this old journal I found. It's been incredibly difficult to translate."

 Curious, Jessica asked, "What language is it in."

Closing the journal in frustration, I replied, "Latin."

Jessica's green eyes twinkled, and a delighted look appeared on her face. Shooting me a smug grin, she bragged, "Looks like I finally found something that I'm better at than you. I just so happen to be fluent in Latin."

Wanting to defend myself, I argued, "I wouldn't necessarily say that your better at this than me; I just haven't learned Latin yet."

Examining her pink fingertips like she didn't have a care in the world, she asked innocently, "Is that anyway to ask someone a favor?"

Fighting an urge to strangle her, I had mentally weighed my desire to have the journal translated or telling her to stuff it. In the end, I decided that having the journal translated was more important to me.

Sliding the journal over, I asked, "Do you think you could translate it for me."

Leaning forward, Jessica carefully opened the journal and started perusing the journal. After a few minutes, I asked impatiently, "Well, can you understand it?"

Flipping her long raven-hair to the side, she looked up and grinned mischievously, "Sure, but I seem to remember some a promise you made earlier in the year to help me out with my spell work. So, I propose a trade, I'll translate this for you, and you help me out with my transfiguration."

Not seeing any issues, I replied, "Deal."

Always happy to practice magic, I asked, "Want to get started right now."

Beaming at me, she replied, "Sure, I'd love to."

Not sure where to begin, I asked, "What do you even need help my help with? From what I've seen, you seem to be ahead of the rest of our peers."

 Jessica huffed and replied immediately, " Not as far ahead as you are."

Jessica paused for a moment gathering her thoughts before saying, "I don't know? How about explaining how you don't seem to have any trouble when Professor McGonagall moves you on to a new object. When you moved on from matches to feathers, it didn't seem to faze you at all. Every time I move to a new object, it's like I regress back to the beginning, and it takes me awhile to get the hang of it all over again.  How do you do it?"

As Jessica grumbled, I considered her complaint before carefully responding, "I don't think I should be the standard that you compare yourself to. It's not really a fair comparison."

Jessica's green eyes narrowed dangerously after hearing my response. Holding up my hand to stop her protest, I went on, "I'm not bragging, I just have a thorough understanding of my abilities. If you compare yourself to all the other students in our year, I'd imagine that you are one of the top students."

Jessica's jaw clenched in annoyance, and she asked, "Are you going to help me or not?"

Seeing how stubborn she was being, I decided she needed a small demonstration. So, I said, "It all comes down to the mathematical transfiguration formula." Pulling out a quill and some parchment, I quickly wrote out, T = (W*C/V*A)Z. 

Seeing the formula, she groaned, "Of course, I know the stupid formula. T is the final representation of the transfigured object. W represents your wand power, which is based on the individual traits of a wand, such as wood type, core, thickness and length, C is mental concentration, V represents viciousness, which represents the liveliness of an object, A is the mass of the object and Z is currently an unknown factor. We know it affects the formula, but no one has figured it out.

Nodding in agreement, I said, "Exactly, that is what I use to help with my transfiguration."

Jessica sputtered in protest, "But it's just a theoretical representation of the spell, it doesn't actually do anything."

Shaking my head in disagreement, I said, "You're missing the point, while it's true you technically don't actually need the formula. It still gives you a good indication how much concentration and energy to use in the spell. Transfiguration is one of the most difficult branches of magic, it's not like the other disciplines at all, if you put too much energy in, or too little, and things can go seriously wrong with the spell. Not to mention the enormous amount of mental concentration that you need to have when picturing the transfiguration. Mastering the formula is half the battle because it lets you free up some of your concentration so that you can focus more on the actual transfiguration."

Mulling over my words, she questioned, "But last week when you were given a new object, I didn't see you do any calculation."

Raising my eyebrow at her, I asked, "Are you sure about that? Just how close have you been watching me."

Her face reddened, and she sputtered, "I always keep a close eye on my competition, and I'm sure you didn't do any calculations."

Knowing that she wouldn't be satisfied unless I revealed the truth, but also not wanting to crush her dream of outperforming me I gently said,  "I did do the calculation, I just did it in my head, it only took about 20 seconds. I've always had a good head for numbers."

Jessica looked shaken at my explanation, and after a moment, she replied weakly, "But, its not just a matter of doing the calculations. There is information that is specific to every object; you need to find before doing the calculation, like the mass, and the viciousness of the object."

Shaking my head gently, I informed her. "Remember, the formula doesn't have to be exact, all the formula really indicates is how difficult the spell is going to be, and it's a good estimate on how much energy you need to put into the spell. So, when you're figuring out the mass if you're close that's fine, and I have been practicing estimating the mass of objects. As for figuring out the level of viciousness an object has. I have a near perfect memory, and there are books that give out the level of viciousness of all sorts of material. For example, let's say you're trying to transfigure stone; it's viciousness's base level is 1.5. Now having done all that, all I have to do is plug in the numbers and run the calculations in my head. That's why you don't ever see me calculating the formula in class."

For the first time since I had known her, some of the fire left her eyes, and she hopelessly mumbled, "How the hell am I supposed to compete with that. I'm never going to be able to catch up."

See her crestfallen expression made me sympathize with her. I knew she was under tremendous pressure from her parents to be number 1 in our class. Knowing that she needed a push, I said, "All you need to do is practice."

She scoffed at me, and bitterly replied, "How is practice going to help me? There is no way I can do the formula in my head."

Shaking my head, I replied, "Sure you can, when you were younger, and you start learning how to do basic mathematics, I imagine, you had to do the problems on parchment. But eventually, you got good enough to do it in your head. This is no difference, it may take you longer to get down, but if you do it enough, I'm sure you can do it."

Mulling over my words, some of the fire came back to her eyes, and looking me in the eyes she swore, "Just you wait, one day I'm going to surpass you, and the top spot will be mine."

Glad she was back to her normal self, I smirked and teased, "I'll be waiting."

We spent the rest of the evening practicing; I was surprised how much fun we had. I love hanging out with my other friends, but they just don't have the same passion about learning magic, but I found with Jessica, a kindred spirit for discovering the deeper mysteries of magic.

The next day I found my friends and told them the good news about Jessica being able to help translate the journal and that hopefully, she would have it finished before we left for the winter holiday.  

Alicia let out a sigh of relief and said, "Thank heavens, I have had enough of trying to translate the writings of a madman."

Cedric silently nodded in agreement, but Anna narrowed her eyes and whispered, "You didn't tell her everything, did you? What makes you think you can trust her? She could give the journal to anyone."

Defending myself, I said, "Of course not, I just told her it's an old journal I was trying to translate. Besides, she wouldn't do that; I bet you would like her, she is pretty interesting to hang out with."

Anna's lavender eyes glared balefully at me, and she said through her gritted teeth, "I doubt it."

I was a little confused about Anna's reaction; this was supposed to be good news. Just the other day, she was complaining about being forced to learn Latin on top of Arabic. Now we would have the journal translated in a couple of weeks, and she didn't have to do a thing. What was she so annoyed about?

 I sent a wordless plea for help towards Cedric; he always seemed to know how to diffuse Anna when she got worked up. Across the table, Cedric looked at me with pity, next to him was Alicia, who looked amused by the whole situation.  

Luckily, Cedric came to my timely rescue like the good bro that he was and quickly changed the subject to the upcoming quidditch match later today. He said, "So who do you think is going to win later today, Gryffindor or Ravenclaw?" 

Anna looked annoyed at the obvious change of subject, but before she could say anything, Alicia piped up and said, "Gryffindor, of course, we've got the best team." Shooting me a sly grin she added, Besides, you know Ravenclaw students are too busy with their noses in books, to be competitive quidditch players."

Even though I knew Alicia was trying to get a rise out of me, I decided that her quip needed answering, Sneering back at her I said, "Oh ya, I'm surprised your dull-headed team can even find their way to the quidditch field."

Anna, always happy to smear the Gryffindors, let go of her annoyance of the quick topic change and added slyly, "The best team? Didn't Slytherin flatten you guys earlier this year?  I think that it is pretty obvious that Slytherin is the best team."

Cedric wanting to defend the Hufflepuff team, shook his head and added, "I don't know if I would agree with you on that. I think that Hufflepuff might have a shot at the cup this year."

Anna and Alicia looked at each other in astonishment, then simultaneously burst out laughing. A stubborn look appeared on Cedric's face, and he defended, "You never know, it could be their year." Shooting me a look of hope, he added, "Right, Alex?"

It took all of my willpower not to make a face at his declaration of a possible victory for the Hufflepuff team. For the first time in a while, one of my rules to live by, flashed across my mind. 

Rule 51, always backup your bro, no matter what, even if he's delusional."

Hoping that my friends couldn't tell that the big smile I had on was fake, I nodded sagely and said as earnestly as possible, "Absolutely, all that would have to happen, is for Ravenclaw, Gryffindor and Slytherin to lose the rest of their matches, Why Hufflepuff pretty much has the championship locked down.

 Anna and Alicia shot each other looks of confusion; they couldn't tell if I was serious or not. After a moment they both scoffed, and the lighthearted bickering continued. As I watched my friends continue arguing about who has the best team and who would win the quidditch cup, I couldn't help but smile and be grateful for the friends I had.

Thank goodness that there are many people like playing with him but them most exciting thing to do is watch Chaos and Younger Harpie playing Basketball.

Well in distance he can see a super speed serve of Chaos, while Younger Harpie easily received it.

The people-watching only heard the ball sound when they hit it but not the ball.

They even heard a loud sound in the air like there's something flying fast.

Well, Xin can't help it, Younger  Harpie and Chaos is too strong and fast while playing tennis, they even destroy multiple rocket and balls in just two days.

Thank goodness that Xin modified every equipment that they destroy again and again so that they can still play.

The academy library was only a short walk away and was quite close to the Elder's Building. The library building from the outside was only a small single storied building and no one will be able to guess that the building holds one of Asia's largest libraries. On the inside, the buildings show its true colours. Instead of a single floor, there were 10 different floors with each floor having a size similar to a football field. It could be said that this library was more than 10 times larger than the Hogwarts library.

This fact is not too surprising. Unlike Britain in which only a single language is used for all purposes, Magical India had more than 15 different official languages due to different tribe's having their very own language. Books written in all these languages were present inside this library. 

One thing I was thankful for in India was that despite there being so many languages, all the spells were in one language, Sanskrit. If every tribe used and taught their own version of spells in their native language, then having an academy will have no meaning. Each elder will teach in his/her language and due to this, the only people who will sign up for their classes will be their own tribe members since no one will be interested in learning a different language just to learn from the elder. If this was going to be the case, then the Elder could have conducted the class in his tribe itself.

Of the more than 15 languages here, I knew only English and Hindi. So I could read only the books in these two languages. The first two floors had only Hindi books while the English book filled a small part of the 10 floor. English was not a common used language here. I had only some average fluency in Hindi so I will have to improve my proficiency in it if I want to make good use of all these books. 

The third and fourth floors had books written in Sanskrit language and I will have to learn the language sometime soon in the future to make my learning process here faster. The language was not commonly spoken in the present era but most of the old and informative books were written in the Sanskrit  language and if I wanted to read and learn from them, I will have to learn language.

Much to my disappointment there was no easy way to solve this problem since there were no magical translators or spells that I could use to translate these books into English. People in India had tried very hard to make this possible over the years but they had failed miserably. I too felt that such a thing was impossible since different languages did not follow a pattern that could be used to magically translate it. Languages did not follow rules and were made by old people on a whim according to their needs.

The people here did invent a spell to make learning language easier though which I am going to make good use of. The spell will make it possible for me to completely learn a language in a month. All I had to do was memorise some books that came recommended with the spell and it will allow me to learn the language quickly. I am planning to use it to perfect my Hindi first and then learn Sanskrit. I did not plan to learn any other Indian language.

The library was huge and I already had a list of books that were recommended to me today that I had to read. I did not have time to waste since I had a deadline which I had to keep. I did not have too much time to waste.

Before going to the Healer section, I decided to visit the English section first since I wanted to see what was available in there. Also it was the language I was most comfortable with in this library. 

To get to the 10th floor, the people here had invented a magical variant of lift. It was a levitating disk on a platform which would follow my command in a way similar to that of a broom and take me to my floor. I liked the idea so much that I wanted to replicate this type of lift in my black castle. I planned on completely renovating the Black castle and this lift was added to the list of changes I wanted to make.

On the 10th floor, the English section was easy to find. The section consisted of 15 large bookshelves filled to the brim with books. This was a small number when compared to the even the Hogwarts library except that the books here were priceless. On glancing through the books, I found that the collection did not have any new books but instead every one of the books was an antique and were more than a 100 years old. Some were even more than 700 years old. Even my black library did not have these book and I wondered where the academy got them from.

The books were calling for me to read them but I controlled myself and went towards the Healer section of the library. I badly wanted to start reading the books but I knew that I had no time for them currently. I could come back here after 3 days and start reading them.

The Healer section on the second was huge with more than 30 bookshelves. I quickly found the books on my list and went towards the Duelling section which was on the same floor. It was not too big just 7 book shelves and I easily found the books recommended to me by Elder Akash. I also checked out the book which will allow me to improve my fluency in Hindi.

The checkout system here was quite unique. First of all, all the books in the library were warded to protect from damage and making copies. At the checkout counter I had to specify the number of days I needed a book. The books had another set of runes that were then programmed in such a way that when the rental period ended, the book will be automatically returned to its original location in the library. The books will also return to the library of I take it outside the academy boundary. I was very impressed by this system.

After checking out the books for 3 days, I left the library as it was time for my next class. The mage sight tutoring with Elder Nainesh. 

When I entered his room he was very excited to start teaching me. I learn the reason for it later during the class. It was due to the fact that my mage sight was different from his and he wanted to compare both and conduct experiments. The main difference was that my mage sight only showed a slight glow in my eyes when activated which his not noticeable while his and his tribes mage sight had tell tale sign when activated. His eyes started twinkling like Dumbledore's glasses when mage sight was activated so he couldn't discreetly use the sight like I always did.

The class was very productive. The method to toggle between different modes was controlling the amount of magic that I sent into my eyes. For the seeing through walls effect I had to rotate my the magic around my eyes. The amount of magic in the eyes and my control in rotating it perfect decided the distance I could see and what I could see.

It was difficult to do since I had not practiced controlling the amount of magic that I could send to my eyes ever in my life. For the first class I did just that. Controlling the magic. By the end of the class I had gotten a slight hang of the method and I could toggle between the modes just for a short few seconds before I lost control. I was sure I could perfect this in a weeks time.

After that productive one hour class, I went back to my room. It was time for me to start reading those books since time was tight. After conjuring a table and a chair, I started reading, beginning with the language book so that my later reading will be quicker.

One week has passed since the day we became rich. The house is now complete with amenities, appliances and designs. Kris and Jack are beginning to feel comfortable with us. My family is quite friendly towards them. 

It is now time for me to investigate the books that I have. The corpse literally had these book when it died. So it must have a value of some kind.

I understand the first book for it is just a diary written in our language. And I started to read the first page.

"My name is Khen Krah. This is my diary starting when I became a powerful. For these are one."

Hmmm. What does it mean by " these are one"? I wonder.(Continues to read..)

"If you want to acquire power, then your mind can easily remember everything."

Hmm? What? This doesn't make any sense. What does the mind got to do with acquiring power? Is it a mind control power? (Continues to read)

"Now you will feel strong in your mind. And after a week, you are done."

Done what? Done as in dead? Or completed something? I can't understand this. Hmmmm.

He continues to read the book but the pattern of sentences are always the same, they don't make a sense in any way.

Huh. If " these are one " are the pertaining to these two books. I think I should need to understand the second book first. But I don't even know that writing. Maybe  the librarian can help me.

I copied one sentence in the "not my language" book and I will also bring the diary. I think I should keep the book first in this house for safekeeping. 

I went to the library with Jack Chan. Arriving in the library. The very first thing I noticed is the lack of people. It it literally deserted. I can't even find an employee. (Finds a bell ang rings it.) Odd. I think bells are too loud in a library for people to read. But who knows. maybe it's becuse no one is here.

Then a pretty lady came to us in a hurry and a clumsy way. She is very sexy combining the cuteness with her round glasses, you literally looking at a type of a girl that a lot of guys fantasizes about when they are in the shower.

"Hello Sir. Good morning. What can I do for you Sir?"

..."Hello. I'm just wondering if you have these kind of book here. These language, I can't seem to understand it. Do you have any reasonable ng material that looks like this. (Shows the piece of paper)"

"Let me take a look at it. (Receives the paper and reads it) "Jiakakula Kirataza" Ahhh. This is the spell language that the healers or mages used in their battles. They chant these kind of words when they attack, defends or heals. But they don't really understand the meaning behind those chant. They just memorize the chant and the spell will work."

..."So you say that they use the language but they didn't know what does it mean, just the effects? So if I show this to them, they won't know that it is the spell language that they use?"

"Yes. Teachers or masters of those mages don't really need to teach the language because it is very hard to understand that language. It will take them a lot of time learning it. Just for example is your note right here. "Jiakakula Kirataza". It means "You should have both of these book."

..."Wait a minute. You can understand it? I thought no one can?"

"I didn't say no one. There are some who does. Actually there is only two knows it. An adventurer named Ling Mea and me. By the way, My name is Chi Lie. "

.."Ling Mea? That is one of my teammates. "

"Teammates? Oh! You mean you are a member of the treasure company?" 

(Treasure company? I think that what people calling us now.)

..."Ahh yes."

"It is an honor to meet you Sir."

..."Just call me Kang. I am still new to this stardom. "

"Okay Mr. Kang."

(She added Mr. Hehe. Well I think I will need her to translate everything in the other book. But translating it here would be dangerous. I need a secure location like my house. And maybe I can take her If you know what I am saying. 😁)

..."Ms. Chi are you single?"

"(Blushes.) Ah. No sir. Why did you ask?"

..."Cause I want you to come to my house."

"(Still blushes and surprised) Ahh. Sir I'm flattered and I think you are handsome and you are totally my type but I think you should ask me on a date first before asking me to go to bed with you."

..."(I think I heard her say that I am her type) Huh? What are you saying? I'm just wondering if you can translate a book for me. And it is in my house. I just asked you if you had a boyfriend because it would be not right to ask a girl that has a boyfriend to come in my house. And I would like this to be a secret. Kong Xiuru thought of herself as a genius in learning foreign languages. Her memory had always been good and she had her own methods of remembering words. In her daily teaching process, she would pass down some of them to her students.
However, Kong Xiuru only realized now that her memory wasn't even worth trash as compared to Ling Yun's!
Once! Just once! He had learned it after just taking one look. She heard that he had no problem reading or writing it. Is… is he even human?
Can 'genius' still be used to describe him?
If he… if he has such a terrifying memorizing ability, why did he have to wait until the college entrance exams to exhibit it?!
Why was he so low-profile before?
Kong Xiuru didn't quite dare to believe that Ling Yun had really memorized over a thousand words so quickly. She took out the Grade 10 English textbook and started picking out some of the more difficult words for Ling Yun to read.
This time, she wasn't searching from the word lists behind the texts. Instead, Kong Xiuru was randomly selecting from within the texts.
In truth, Ling Yun wasn't just able to read the words out very well, he could even explain their meaning at will and easily write the words on paper.
Kong Xiuru tried seventeen words consecutively but each time was the same. There was no exception!
Kong Xiuru couldn't believe it at first. She had gotten Ling Yun to translate the English words to Chinese, as well as read and write them. Now, she was closing the textbook and she was describing the meaning of English words using Chinese and getting Ling Yun to translate it to English. On top of that, he even had to write and read those English words.
Then, she believed it! Whenever she said a Chinese word, Ling Yun would immediately translate it to English. Moreover, as he read the word, he would casually write that word on paper as well.
In one go, he had translated twenty to thirty words and they were all correct. Not one of them was wrong and he had not hesitated on a single one of them.
Kong Xiuru was dumbfounded. She felt as if she couldn't stand properly. She stopped getting Ling Yun to stay in the study room. Instead, she got him to come out and sit on the sofa.
Then, she closely scanned Ling Yun to the point that Ling Yun was a little scared. Was my performance too nature-defying?
Kong Xiuru knew that Ling Yun's learning of English was no longer limited to this half an hour of remedial. If he were to be given a day to memorize all the English words from the senior high school to university syllabuses, it wouldn't be a problem at all!
If that were the case, she could teach him some grammar on top of that and get him to memorize the senior high and even university level English texts. College entrance exams? Even taking the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) straight away wouldn't be a problem!
"Ling Yun, you're incredible!" Kong Xiuru suddenly burst out exclaiming.
And what came after shock? Adoration. Sincere shock would produce sincere adoration!
Even if Kong Xiuru was even more anti-men or even more indifferent towards men, she was still a woman in the end. Moreover, she was a virgin.
Ling Yun chuckled. "I'm just alright. It's mainly because Teacher teaches well. Otherwise, I wouldn't learn so quickly!"
Kong Xiuru blushed as she said in her heart. Your memory is so terrifying. What does that have to do with the English basics I've taught you? However, she still felt sweet and cheery on the inside. She felt proud that Ling Yun had been able to grasp the language so quickly.
"Ling Yun, Teacher will teach you a few commonly used sentence structures later. For example, sentence structures for things that have happened and things that are happening. As for listening, as long as you listen to some recordings, Teacher believes that your listening definitely won't be a problem."

Ling Yun pondered for a moment. He had memorized over a thousand words in half an hour. Memorizing five thousand in two days wouldn't be a problem, would it? Hence, he smiled brightly and said, "No problem. But I don't have the university textbook, Teacher!"
Kong Xiuru laughed softly. "Don't worry about that. Your Teacher has it at home!"
But then, she suddenly laughed mischievously. "If you really have a photographic memory, would you dare to memorize the Oxford English Dictionary?"
Lin Yun started perspiring madly. My beautiful form teacher, are you playing with me? Ling Yun had seen how thick that Oxford English Dictionary on Cao Shanshan's table was. Memorize that? Even if he had that kind of memory, he didn't have the kind of effort needed. Even if he had the kind of effort needed, he wasn't in the kind of mood to do it!

If one becomes familiar with the Three Hundred Tang Poems, even if he or she doesn't know poetry, he or she would be able to recite poetry. That was the logic Ling Yun had.
Lin Yun laughed gently. "Please do not worry, Teacher. I'll do as you've requested."

Hence, she had immediately changed her words on the spot. From saying that Ling Yun had completely grasped it, she said that he had pretty much grasped it. Then, she told him to come for a few more lessons.
Ling Yun remained silent and calm. He was very focused and serious when it came to studying. His body diffused a clear and refreshing smell. Kong Xiuru quite liked the feeling of being with this genius student.
Ling Yun stood up. "Thank you, Teacher. I will work hard. I shall go back to the classroom now. Goodbye, Teacher!"
Kong Xiuru smiled and said, "What are you saying goodbye for? Your Teacher still has to go back to the classroom to collect the test papers. Let's go together!"

He could only go back to his seat as he looked at Cao Shanshan thoughtfully. "I really have a very important thing to do tonight? Can we do this another day?"
Cao Shanshan had spontaneously requested Ling Yun to send her home and it had already taken a great deal of courage. Although Ling Yun was rejecting her now, seeing that Ling Yun had come back to his seat just for her and that he was using a negotiating tone, she felt delightful.

After leaving the classroom, Ling Yun dashed to the school field. He put on an act and leisurely ran half a round before entering a shady area. Then, he leaped over the school's fences and activated the Thousand Miles Godly Steps, dashing straight toward the river bank.
"My precious Shichiyou herb, Big Brother has missed you to death!" Ling Yun had already undergone two nights of physique tempering without the help of the Shichiyou herb. Naturally, his heart was burning with eagerness.
Within two minutes, Ling Yun had reached the opposite bank of the Shichiyou herb. Then, he saw that, beside the Shichiyou herb, was a snow-white arctic fox!

I woke up early again, it seems that since I came here sleeping comes natural and it is very revitalizing, maybe it is indeed like an RPG that after a night of sleep you get your HP full. Nonetheless I'm very hungry, so this time I devour my breakfast before taking a shower.
 Once ready I proceed to the governance hall the apprentice that helped me yesterday guided me to the library, the elder was there focused on a very ancient looking book, in front of him there was a mountain of similarly ancient looking books.
 The elder explained to me that so far there was no luck on the tinkerer job, however he had still to look on the ancient texts as he was doing now, the only issue is that since they were written in the language of the original elders it was being difficult to translate them. Of course I would not have the issue since the language orb allowed me to instant translate, so I started to read from the pile of books.
 I learned many useful things from these books, basic details like how the spells and special moves from the other classes were called skills, each seed was to receive a skill once they got assigned a job, and they could learn more skills as they gained experience. Of course all the skills will be related to their job.
 Also there were details on how to get experience, certain actions give the seed a very small percent of experience like casting a spell for a wizard or using a special move for a warrior, however the real experience gains came from fighting and defeating enemies, performing heroic task or overcoming a personal obstacle, RPG anyone?
 The books also explained how after certain level was achieved in a job a more specialized job choice became available, there were four such opportunities, which were called enlightenments, for each class and at each enlightenment each class had the chance to choose from two options, however once a certain path was taken only the choices related to the path taken will become available at the enlightenment.
 Hence the goal of the seed was to reach the fourth enlightenment which will grant the title of blossom during the year they were summoned here, as the books were written by earlier generations seeds there was no information as to what happened after the year, however this at least indicated that after a year, for good or bad the seeds left this world.
 There were details about acquiring a secondary job, I learned what each one was about, however it is too soon to choose which one suits me better. These secondary jobs also have progressions, but they are simpler from apprentice to adept then to master and finally to grandmaster.
 I learned some other minor details from the books but either I still need more time to digest it or it is too early in my journey for any of it to be of use.
 Lunch was brought for us a bit past noon, the elder and I talked about our findings but there didn't seem to be a single clue about the tinkerer job. I was wondering if I could find out what the first skill I got was, would that provide with a clue about what the tinkerer job was, however I didn't know what my first skill was and there was no way for me to find out, well at least I didn't know of any way but then I remembered the elder.
 When I asked him about finding out about my first skill, the elder smile and hit his forehead. He explained to me about minorum, spells so simple than anyone with a little bit of magical power could cast, it was just a matter of learning the right word and have at least the magical power needed to use it.
 Fortunately "identify" was a minorum, and I could use. However I had seem my status yesterday and there was no mention of any skills there, the elder told me that it was because he had cast it on me, normally "identify" was used for a seed to track their own progress and if someone cast it in someone or something else, not only the magical power required will increase exponentially related to their difference in magical power but even if successfully casted only a portion of the information will be available, hence why yesterday only partial information was shown.
 Of course to me the word identify didn't really match what the elder was trying to find out, maybe the first part of it, my name, level and class but the rest was more detailed information, it was more like an status display for an RPG character, I should have picked up more details on how spell were made here, specifically minorum, now that I think of it I first saw hieroglyphs, maybe the minorum are glyphs and once arranged in a certain fashion they form the spell.
 As I was thinking this two weird shapes made of white smoke formed in front of me, I don't know why but I can tell this two glyphs form the "identify" spell, as it was the most natural thing to me I took out my pencil and rearrange the glyphs, now they spell "examine".
 Thinking here goes nothing I use "examine" and even as nothing was expected the result was far from astonishment, this time more information came, however the format this time was different as it was more like an RPG.

 Level 2? I don't remember doing anything to get experience and what about LP? Oh learning points, wait how I know that? Maybe it is because of the spell, but if I focus more on the details I can find out what each thing means. SP is status points so I can choose how to place them, I wonder how I do that; I'll ask the elder about it, but for now on the skills, I understand about "Identify" and "Examine" but why some many more? Maybe if I try to focus on them, bingo! They have description on what they do.
 It seems my basic skill is [Learn], I guess not only my tool is lame also my skills, go figures… I'm supposed to be able to learn things, oh actually I'm able to learn skills, so that's how I got the other ones, there is no further details as to how to learn skills or what the actual limits are, but I'll test that later.
 Wow! [Decompile] and [Compile] do look useful, they allow me to disassemble minorum and spells and then modify them to create new ones, which explains how I got "Examine", then what about [Execute]? Mmm it just allows me to cast the newly create spells, I guess it is useful after all if you don't mind the redundancy.
   I explained everything to the elder, and we pieced together a plausible explanation for my weapon and my skill, of course there are still many things to find out but at least the basics are covered for now, and that should be enough for me to travel around the world, I'm sure I'll find out more about my skill and my class during my travel.
