SALEM: I agreed to her terms. Not like I had much of a choice. It was either that or an open ended conflict with potential casualties for both sides.

All I could do was hope that she'd keep her end of the deal.

I took a blanket and wrapped Elina in it. The gransia handcuffs were covered up. She sat at the front of the cart. Next to me. Her shoulders against mine. I could feel her warmth. She glanced sideways at me. Her right eye changed back to silver.

She said, "Don't worry, I'll keep my promise. So long as you satisfy my conditions."

I said nothing.

She giggled. I could see the magic whirling in her single silver eye. To think that the gransia handcuffs couldn't literally suppress all of her magic was frightening. She is a monster. Her eye changed back to brown.

The sound of the incoming travelers grew louder. They came into view. Just like I expected: four wheels, a horse and two men.

But it wasn't a regular combination of two.

Usually it'd be a merchant and an apprentice. An older man and a younger man. But this was different.

It was a merchant and a mercenary.

It wasn't hard to spot a mercenary. Because we both worked in the arms-for-hire industry. They always had the same look: rough, muscles, a little madness in their eyes. Hair cut short for stealth and close combat advantage. 

Although witch hunters had regular haircuts. Sometimes it was advantageous to blend in as a regular human being. Gather information. Then kill.

Why would a merchant hire a mercenary? Spend money to have someone guard the goods? That just drove up the overhead costs. Which never made sense to a merchant.

Unless the goods he transported were extremely valuable and prone to theft. Something expensive and light. Something with ungodly profit margins.

The merchant raised his hand and waved. I did the same.

We passed by each other. We came to a stop.

I said, "How do you do?"

Immediately I felt the mercenary's eyes on me. Assessing me. Threat or not? I stayed relaxed. I wasn't a threat. Couldn't say the same for the person next to me though.

The merchant said, "Beautiful morning, ey?"

"Yes, a fine morning for traveling."

"Is that your wife?"

Elina snickered under her breath.

I said, "Yes...my wife..."

The merchant sighed. "How fortunate to have a wife traveling with you. It makes the long days and nights on the road more bearable."

I glanced at his cart. A thick cotton blanket hid everything underneath it. Elina tugged at my sleeve. She nodded.

Whatever was underneath that blanket, she wanted it.

We got through the usual meaningless smalltalk and right before he was about to bid us farewell, I asked, "What are you transporting?"

Perhaps not the best way to pry into his business matters. But I lacked the subtlety of a merchant.

The mercenary put a hand on his sword. The merchant seemed tense.

I said, "It looks like you are transporting something valuable. A mercenary to protect you and an expensive cotton blanket on top of it."

The merchant shifted in his seat. His eyes were calculating.

I said, "I am no thief, but I can't help but be curious..."

The mercenary glared at me. His body tensed. I sensed combat.

Elina stepped on my foot. Hard. She smiled at the merchant and said, "I apologize for my husband's rudeness. He is a curious man but he is hopeless with words."

Something in her smile. Something in her voice. The merchant calmed down. He put a hand on the mercenary's shoulder. He too relaxed.

The merchant reached back and pulled away the blanket, revealing his goods. 

Elina's eyes sparkled.

The merchant went on his way.

He was happy. Elina was happy.

I was not.

Turns out he was transporting high quality winter clothing for the upper class. Leather boots and wool coats with wolf fur lining. Thick skirts with inner layers of leather.

The deal I had with Elina was this: she'd keep quiet if I bought whatever she wanted from the incoming traveler.

Her reason was that witches never had much money because they were self-sufficient. But now that she was essentially stuck with a human body, there are some human made goods that she might want. Like warm clothing.

In Altheim she traded medicine for corn. The villagers didn't have much money either.

In the end I bought her a winter cape with sable fur lining, a long winter skirt with silver wolf fur lining and a pair of sturdy leather boots.

Total price: ten gold coins.

An astronomical sum.

An insane sum.

A huge bite out of my paycheck.

But she kept her promise.

"Although I didn't expect for him to think that I'd be your wife," Elina said.

She sat next to me, wrapped up in her new clothing.

I said, "It's the natural conclusion. It'd be strange for an unmarried girl to travel alone with a man."

Elina said, "Although seeing us as a married couple wouldn't be completely off the mark."

"How so?"

"We'll be at each other's throat sooner or later. Just like a husband and wife."

She smiled slightly. Her hair changed back to a cascade of silver. Her eyes swirled and went back to silver.

I swallowed. Only the handcuffs kept her from killing me.

"Why don't you sit down in the back of the cart," I said.

Elina didn't move. She said nothing. Her blank eyes studied me. Her face betraying no thoughts.

"What?" I asked.

"There's something I want to ask you."

After drinking a barrel full of beer with the family of one of his guard, Arden passed out on the floor at their house and woke up at the day, not sober but still drunk.
He and Louis, the guard he has been drinking with. Woke up and went on their way to the castle, while hitting some people that eventually helped them on the way.
Now… Arden was sleeping comfortably at the bed and still dreaming. He woke up at noon while his wife was breastfeeding the babies in front of him.
He yawns and rubbed his eyes, still confused, he asks to himself, 'Who is in front of me?'
He got up from his bed and is feeling not well after what happened yesterday, 'I feel like sh*t'
Then he casually went to the bathroom and wash his face, while washing his face. Something came in mind, 'Wait! Am I in my bedroom? Oh, no! I'm in big trouble!'
He suddenly remembered about the promise he made to his wife, to not drink without her consent anymore. He violated it and is in big trouble. He thought of every solution he could use.
"Should I just stay here and never come out? Should I just leave the bedroom without noticing she was there?" All of his solutions was not fit to be used in that situation and he panicked.
He nervously continues thinking more and more, as he thinks about it, he curses his luck and quickly continues thinking. While repeating the same stuff several times.
Then… with both hands, he slapped himself on the cheek and keeps staring at the eye. He made the serious eyebrows and convince himself, "Arden! You can do this! You will take whatever you will get outside of this room!"
He took several more minutes in the bathroom, convincing himself more and more. Till the point, he walked out of the room confidently and looking like he didn't do any mistake.
All of the time he spent at the bathroom was wasted. His spouse was sitting at the bed and staring at the bathroom door all this time while the babies were sleeping comfortably at their place.
Once he got out of his bathroom, he was greeted by the sight of his significant others, directly pointing at his eye. All his confidence disappeared into thin air at that moment, and he began sweating nervously.
"Didn't you say you won't drink unless I gave the permission to?" He smiled awkwardly at her and began to make his way to sit at the bed.
"Please don't do that again! I'm very worried about you!" She shouted as he began making his way to sit at the bed.
In the end, Arden's spouse breakdown crying while covering her face while sitting on the bed. Arden quickly regrets his decision and quickly rushed in front of her and kneel.
He proceeds to hug her and put his face near her ears and whispered into it, "Don't worry, everything is going to be alright, I'll find a pet for you okay?"
She calmed down after a few minutes at that posture and left out a few sobs before answering it, "Okay! I want a cute and strong one"
"Okay, I will get you something cute, I was planning to get something from the forest with Louis this day!" Valen wiped the tears that came out from her eyes and became suddenly excited.
"Are you going to get a bird?" Arden raises one of his eyebrows and looked at her for a few seconds before responding nervously.
"Not a bird, but a cat, a cat is cute, right?" Her wife turned her expression from excited to moody, expecting a better pet and a stronger one.
Arden looked at her confusedly and said, "If you don't have anything to ask, I'll be going then!"
He then left the room with his sword and his empty bag on money on his hip. And head directly to his office before his minds stopped him.
'I'm very hungry, I can't work with an empty stomach' He then changed his direction to the eating room downstair and ate some food first.
30 minutes later, he finished his food and went straight to his office and began doing his normal works, paperwork, trade and other stuff.
3 hours into the work and he is doing something related to money. Suddenly, something came across his mind, 'who is the treasurer?'
Arden thought about this for a while and didn't find the answer he wanted. He let it pass through his mind but keep it and decided to ask someone who might know about it.
He continues working for 1 hour, while he was focused on some paper works, somebody knocked on the door and followed with that person saying, "Sir, can I come in?"
"Yes, come in" He continued looking on various paperwork when that person slowly opens the door and enters his office.
The person turned out to be Louis. His hair and clothes were still messy as he hasn't changed it from yesterday. He closed the door and said, "Sir, I'll go home now, meet me at my house later"
Arden nod and give an "Okay" while he was still focused on the paperwork. Louis, not wanting to bother him anymore, just left the room quietly and make his way to his own home.
Arden continued on his works for a few minutes after Louis has left him alone. He slowly stood up from his seat and stretch his hand.
He stood at the middle of the room and not knowing what to do before a thought came up in his mind, 'I'll go get my leather armour to use'
He approached the drawer he has in his office as he thought he places the armour there at the past. But… He was wrong. He didn't find his armour there and began panicking and searching his office.
No matter how many drawers he opened, he never finds his old leather armour he used in the past. He slowly walked to his seat and sat there while thinking about a solution.
"Why do I need leather armour? I'll just buy new hunter clothes!" He became hopeful again and took some 2 Aurens from his desk drawer and stood up from his seat and went outside.
He walked out of his room and began making his way to the staircase while he is thinking about the cat he is going to get at the forest.
Suddenly and weirdly, something in his mind began telling him to do something and he thought about it, 'I'll go and say goodbye to my wife first'
He was about to reach the staircase to the first floor but stopped and began changing his direction to his own bedroom.
He opens the door slowly as he knows the babies were in the room. Once he stepped his leg into the room, he was greeted by his wife, just reading some books at the bed.
She quickly got up from the bed and rushed to him and then hugged him. Arden was shocked and began feeling uncomfortable at that position.
"Uhhh" His spouse keeps that position for some time and said.
"Just let me at this position" Arden began patting her head and waited for it to be over.
2 minutes have passed since his significant other hugged him. It was getting tighter and tighter as time passes. 1 more minute passes and she finally let go of him and then turned away.
She was blushing heavily but quickly calmed down and sat down at the bed, Arden followed her but sat down at the chair beside the bed that he used when talking to her.
He was staring at other place and avoiding eye contacts with her wife as best as he could and waited for his wife to start talking, but that never happened.
While still at the awkward situation, he was the first one to open his mouth, "So yea, I'm going to the forest now, wish me luck on finding a cute strong pet"
His wife was focused at the book at first but just smiled at him and wish him, "Good luck!"
He was about to stand up and leave the room and make his way toward Louis's house but he was stopped about the treasurer thing.
He didn't from his chair and just keep avoiding eye contact and asked, "Can I ask who is the treasurer?"
Valen raised one of his eyebrows and looked at him before answering, "I'm the treasurer, I gave that position to my father when I was pregnant though, he would be fitted to do the job"
Arden looked at her and stop avoiding eye contact from now on, he keep looking at her and move his head closer and closer.
Their lips met each another and they closed their eyes and savour that moment as long as they could. A good 30 seconds was wasted at that moment as he spend his time kissing his spouse.
He retract his head and stood up from his seat and began making his way toward the door. He was just about to leave the room but he soon turn his head back and said excitedly, "Bye-bye! Wish me luck"

The second uncle it's called Su Wei, he followed grandpa steps and became a politician, right now it's the deputy director of SARFT. He's currently married and his wife is pregnant of 2 months.

The third aunt it's called Su Daji, she's currently divorced and mother of a 2 years old little girl. The reason for divorce was according to mother 'He was a piece of trash who should become a eunuch' in other words he sleept with other woman. Third aunt bought a house near ours.

The grand date where everything will chance it's comming soon for this reason I decided to help you to understand a little of the prodution classes that I'll be able to chose soon.

To start, the prodution classes are nothing more than classes that are able to deal with materials of monsters, the new herbs that will appear and of course minerals. In other words it's related to all things that the Magic Core Awakening of the Avalon will bring.

Well the production classes, at least in Revolution Era, are:

Appraiser - Able to identify a variety of itens. It's only able to identify itens of a single rank higher.

For appraiser it appers pretty useless, however monsters also drop equipments. Also if you want to sell anything you have to at least know what you're selling otherwise almost nobody would buy. A lot of people will have this class only to identify drops like equipment, herbs, ores, etc.

Tailor - Able to create clothes, bags and leather armor.

For this anyone would think that aside from the ability to make leather armor is useless however there's a catch that took some years for Non-Players-Characters (NPC) understand on the game history. It's that all of the itens created are created with monster parts, cloth armor has higher magic defense and it's light perfect for mages, leather armor it's obviously used by light classes like archer and the bag? You only has 100 iten slots given by the system if you want to 'farm' for a long time it doesn't heave enough space. The leather bags are also called space bags that can have a space from 5 to 100.

Blacksmith - Able to create metal armors ( full plate / light plate ), mostly of the weapons from swords until soft metal gloves.

Now you ask ' why blacksmith don't manufacturate rods and staffs?' That's because it belongs to another class.

Alchemy - Able to create potions that are mainly capable to heal or restore mana.

Alchemy is very broad of course few people know how to fully use it.

Magic Engineer - Able to create special weapons, rods and staffs.

Throwing weapons like shurikens and dagger or magic empowered weapons are created by this class.

Talisman Master - Able to create several types of talismans that can attack, heal, track, summon, etc.

A class loved by Mages, only a level 4 or above talisman master is able to create 'area magic scrolls' that can be sold a absurd prices and 'Magic Array', that can be used to protect a construction from invaders.

Cook - Able to create various foods from beast monsters.

To those who love to cook and eat a great food, of course it has more uses but it has to be raised to a higher rank.

Every single class, production or battle, has 11 ranks that goes as

Rank 1 - Student
Rank 2 - Disciple
Rank 3 - Master
Rank 4 - GrandMaster
Rank 5 - King
Rank 6 - Sovereign
Rank 7 - Emperor
Rank 8 - Ancestor
Rank 9 - Saint
Rank 10 - God

Usually the people are called only by the rank number intead of the rank title after all it would be embarrassing call someone 'How you're doing Stick God Wukong?'.

To raise the ranks it depends completly of your understanding of the class (alchemy, blacksmithing, etc) or ability to use the weapon in combat.

Esquire, an address that only emphasized how lacking his current circumstances were.
If he had not found his mother's journal, he would never have found out that he was supposed to be Calor zi Asmovare, grandson of a great lord, last scion of a great line. Not even an 'il' but a 'zi' – part of the grand nobility that were descendants of kings and not the low nobles that were elevated from common or minor roots.
He would never have known that his father had been executed along with his uncles, and his bloodline was struck from the rolls of nobility by the emperor himself. The Ducan cousins that raised him, were they intending to let this matter go unremarked? He was the last, the blood within his veins had tinges of royalty!
How could they be so unambitious, so lacking that they would let his blood fade into obscurity, so…so common that they steered him away from greatness? Faugh!
His lips curled in disgust.
He had long searched for a way to regain his titles and he was close. He could feel it. Who knew a visit to a diminished castletown by the Indar river would gain him a hint to such treasure?
It was the only reason he would ever come to this place, this Lowpool. Even the name was miserable.
He was only here to look for the Asmovare secret, the secret that papers saved from the ruined Asmovare castle hinted at. A secret that made even the emperor hesitate to go against the Asmovare family until the old marquis died.
Hidden in the shade of the crocodile? It had taken him months to know what that phrase meant.
This wretched lake and this tiny town, why here? Why would the great lord that was his grandfather hide something so important here?
It was a stroke of luck, really, that the wine merchant made a mistake with his usual order. If not for the nervous babbling of the man's wife, he would not have known such an obscure story as the legend of the Little Treachery existed.
He heard a commotion down below, where the servants were getting the small mansion ready. Really, this town…who would call this barely acceptable house a mansion?
He raised his eyes from the view of the duskleaf aspens and giltdagger bushes that obscured the sight of the other 'mansions' that were built on the street.
A servant passing by froze at the sight of clear eyes, blue as the skies of summer and arresting as the first sight of the ocean, revealed in a face that would have turned the gaze of a deity. Lips full and sculpted for passion smiled at her.
She ducked her head, mortified, and scurried away.
Calor chuckled. She had an interesting look. Perhaps he could take a tour of the maidservants' hall later.
He leaned away from the window seat, bending a gaze on the matter so noisy in the receiving hall below. The coat that usually fell to his ankles, pleated and embroidered so finely it looked plain from a distance, fell open to reveal trousers made of fine wool woven in patterned subtle plaid, and boots made of strange leather that shimmered as the light changed.
"I said the pear. Pear green!" Agreine held up the cloth to the servant's view. "This is basil green. Basil! I already said it was for the chair with the golden cushions. Do you know what a basil green throw looks like paired with golden cushions in a room with rose curtains?"
The servant quickly took the woven throw away.
"Horrid!" cried Agreine after his hurrying figure. "It looks horrid, do you hear?"
She huffed, quickly fixed her hair, and went into the next room with a frown at the merman statue in the alcove. She turned, to see another servant bringing in a pile of cushions. "Remove this thing. We cannot have a beast leering at all and sundry as they pass. This is the receiving hall. Mer statues, how barbaric."
"Yes, madam."
She walked on.
"Those stools, why are you placing them there?"
"They're traditional, madam."
"I have not heard this tradition."
"The old master of the house—"
"Ah. An arbitrary tradition." She lost interest. "They're out of place. We want an elegant hall, a hall with class, not a tavern. Replace them. There are black-applewood chairs with red seakrait leather seats in the esquire's things. Use them."
"Yes, madam."
"Change the flowers in the left small hall, I see them wilting."
"Yes, madam."
She swept out the receiving hall to the front courtyard, servants hanging on her every word.
Calor laughed quietly, the lilting sound turning the ear of those passing near; so light and pleasing it was.
Really, how amusing, he thought. She showed her lack of understanding with every word. If she were not so useful, this wine merchant's wife, he would not have given her a chance to even look at him.
What did she know of elegance, this fishmonger's daughter, this merchant's wife? The foundation of class was arbitrary tradition. How else would a person set himself apart from those below him? The servants knew that better than she did, despite her airs.
He saw Bram enter, look askance at the hurricane of organizing the woman was doing. He glanced upward, at Calor, who waved the matter away with a movement of his fingers.
Bram climbed the stairs, disgruntled. "She removed the mer statue?"
"Let her be. She has an eye for color, don't you think? She won't be back to this place after today, in any case. You can put the statue back if you wish."
"Good. There'll be assumptions if you let her have charge of your household like this."
Calor touched a hand lightly to his chest. "Why, Bram. She is married, the wife of a friend, don't you know? Despite her charms, you think I would touch her? She is too old."
"She's barely past twenty, and years younger than you."
"A number is not indicative of age, my friend. She has that herbalist's house to putter around, doesn't she? Tell her she won't need to come here again, if you're so bothered."
"I still don't know why anyone would buy that property. It's ill-used and the land is tired. What can grow there?"
"I forgot your family are nomads." What could a wanderer know of land that gripped your heart and roots that made your blood burn?
When he saw the bare earth where Castle Asmovare once stood, even the stones hauled away and the gardens ripped out, he felt such emotion as he had never felt before in his life. He vowed to raise it again, larger and more powerful than before.
Bram snorted. "Nomad or not, we still know better than to buy dead land."
"Enough about it. You have news."
"The herbalist's neighbors are moving out. They just sold to the boy."
Calor turned away, put an elbow on the windowsill and propped his chin on his hand. "Mm."
Bram swallowed, quickly changed the subject. "There used to be an old fort west of the Garge homestead, it was destroyed over twenty years ago. There's a chest of things hidden in a nearby cave, but the contents were paper. They've rotted down."
"Nothing at all?"
His tone was lightly enquiring. Bram quickly reached into his coat.
"Just this." He brought out a piece of leather. "I believe it's a map. I've not seen the place it shows before."
Calor gestured, and Bram spread the scrap of leather on the window seat.
The esquire leaned over it, then his brows came together. "It is a map. I've never seen such a strange depiction, however. It's a map of the noble domain that once ruled over these lands."
Bram pointed. "There are locations that appear to have been deliberately scratched out."
Calor Ducan nodded. His finger touched a dark patch on the side, pressing down some of the flaked surface of the waxed leather map.
His friend looked at the black symbol that was taking shape. "A tree?"
A smile touched the full lips of the man beside him. "A garganel. They call it the shadow tree in these parts, a tree that guards the path to the underworld."
Bram nodded. "I suppose the circular 'leaves' on the tree match the scratched out locations. Should I send people to check out these places?"
Calor shook his head. "Don't bother. Feints, merely. To hide this."
He touched one of the locations where the ink had been carefully scraped off. It lay in the center of mountains, the depiction of the river and lake barely a faint line under his finger.
"Do you know, Bram, when the world was young, beasts ruled the earth?"
"They offended the heavens and were muzzled, weakened, punished," Bram rolled his eyes. "And became the playthings of the weakest race, called humans. What of it?"
"In the beginning, there was a crocodile of the great river, the mother river, the river of life, who found no solace but in war and murder. And when the heavens proclaimed peace between all races, the crocodile rebelled so mightily that deities descended upon the earth to subdue it."
"I do not see—"
"The head was smashed into the earth, and restrained by divine chains. The lashing tail was curled forcibly and sank into the ground. The limbs were cut off and tossed into the mother river. Only the body was left to wriggle and writhe unrestrained, in fury and pain, in hopeless hope. Listen well, you children, for this is the story of the Little Treachery. Be wary, oh children, for the Lowpool is the head of the crocodile. And it only rises for blood."
Calor smiled slowly at his confused companion, after the last word left his lips. "Rather well done tale, wouldn't you think?"
"I've heard better." Bram shrugged.
"The good Madam Agreine is not the equal of your story-singers, I agree." Calor's smile widened. "But thanks to her, the path has opened to me. The boy is insignificant. We'll endure a few weeks more, Bram. But then, we'll rise to heights these people cannot even imagine."
Bram looked at him, then nodded, as he always did, in full belief.

'Knock knock' echoed inside the house, the three adults were deathly still, Thena and the old woman had stiff expressions, the oldman still did not know about the nursing home as he'd been busy trying to make sure no one found out about the baby during the awakening.

However he knew that knowing his wife, the midwife would not have been left alive, he thought that maybe she killed the midwife and now the village guards were here for them.

'Knock Knock' sounded again. "I'll go see what it's about, you two take the baby with you and wait by the back door" the oldman said, he'd hoped that if things went badly he could fend them off for his daughter and wife to run.

"No. I'll go, they don't know that I'm also at the warrior grade, plus you can protect Thena and the child better!" the old woman replied with conviction. "No." the hold man interrupted, but before he could continue. "Stop, our daughter and grandchild is our priority".

The oldman was speechless when getting to stern look from his wife, before he could say anything to retort, his wife had already gotten up and headed for the door.

'Creak' as the door opened, the old woman stood infront of the door with a smile, she looked at the guard in leather and asked, "what might be the problem."

The guard on the other hand was completely respectful. "Ma'am, you may not know but there has been a fire in the nursing home in the south district, I'm here to ask if elder Lander has returned yet?" he said respectfully, 
You couldn't help but notice the admiration in the guards face. "He's not back yet!, I'll let him know when he returns!" she replied calmly. "Ah my apologies and thank you!" he said in a respectful tone, the guard thought that he had upset elder landers wife, because the old woman might have been asleep and him asking the middle of the night might be disrespectful to the elders wife.

The guard did not even try to question her, he had heard the old woman was eccentric,  he decided to do as was told and inform the elders wife if the elder was not in and then he quickly returned to the barracks, so he may inform the guard captain.

The old woman closed the door and walked back in, she was in thought as she believed the guards behavior was odd. "We should leave soon" she muttered, with an odd expression.

The old woman suddenly came to a stop. "Its fine. they weren't here for the baby!, by the looks of it no one knows, we should make plans and prepare, I think we should leave." she said to and empty room, seconds later her husband stepped out, as though he watching to whole thing from start to finish.

"Get Thena to her room make sure she doesn't leave over the next few days, I'll be back soon I have to make some people pay me back what they owe.." the oldman said, then he left without waiting for an answer.

(The head guard POV)
Several hours later the head guard had just arrived back in the barracks after several of hours trying to figure out why the fire started, he believed someone started it, he just didn't know who.

he returned to his office with an entourage, before sitting down. 'Banggg!' the head guard hit the table, "how is it after several hours no one still knows anything about this incident?"

"Sir we're trying our best." a guard said with hesitation, however what he got back was a glare from the man in steal. "Tell me how many deaths at least?" he grit his teeth.

"133" another man in leather replied.

Deathly silence filled the room for several minutes, the guards didn't know what to do, so they just bowed and left, but one suddenly came to a stop and said "I informed elder landers wife, she said she's sure he'll be back soon" then bowed again and then closed the door behind him.

The head guard seemingly upset was about to grab a drink from his cabinet, suddenly the door to his office knocked 'knock knock knock', the head guard believing it was one of his subordinates began to frown, "What is it!" he said angrily. but when the door opened, his face froze. "M... m... mayor?" he blurted out.

"My, youngsters these day don't know how to greet their seniors." an oldman with a head full of grey said. "I'm s.. sorry I thought it was Someone else!" the head guard replied while bowing. 

After all to be mayor of a settlement of any kind, you need to be of noble birth, or be a knight of the reigeon Lord and be given some land, the mayor of this village was a cousin of the viscount, so he was tasked with this place 30 years ago by his family.

A viscounts family has many knight grade totem masters, offending their family members in their own territory can end very badly, the head guard was assigned by the city commander, who works for the mayor's cousin.

(Thena Pov)
After the door Knocks Thena tried to stay calm, her father and mother can take care if it, but she could not help by begin to sweat, so many things happened tonight. From the baby being born early, to the awakening then the anxious waiting, Thena couldn't help but think of the baby's father, she was not even aware that her own father was staring at her with an determined expression.

"Thena stay with your mother, I need to go see an old friend who owes me a favor!" he said sternly while looking at his daughter, then he turned around and went toward his wife..

Thena became startled when her father said this, because her father only has one person who owes him but that person... "It couldn't be..." she muttered.

Her mother soon came to her and said. "We need to make a decision on what to do." she said. "To be safe we should leave, but your father will be gone for a little while, when he returns we can make a descicion, go to bed for now." she continued, the oldwoman was exhausted, so much has happened tonight she thought they would need some rest.

"But Dad.." she tried to say but her mother cut her off. "He'll be fine but you need rest, look at the baby he's already fast asleep!" the oldwoman said sternly, she had an idea of what her husband was going to do, although she was worried she knew that once he was adamant it was impossible to change his mind.

Her adopted giant daughter Anna sat down on the gigantic leather chair next to her brothers Danny and Tommy Seville in the kitchen. "Sighs. Maybe he will come to put some treats eggs basket to you tomorrow early morning," Anna. Her normal size stepmom Dionne Seville talked. "Good morning siblings! How you doing today?" My giant husband Dave Seville banged from the upstairs recently. "My little sister Anna excite to meet Easter Bunny tomorrow early morning," Dad. His giant son Danny Seville replied. "I see, Danny. Anna, I am not sure if Easter bunny is a mystical legendary do you understand about this?" Her giant father Dave Seville explains to his ten years old giant daughter Anna Seville still sitting on the leather gigantic leather chair next to them. "Of course! But, Easter Bunny will give me a surprise gift of treats eggs basket," Dad. She understood what's her giant father Dave Seville described. "Oh. I have to go work now. Bye," siblings! He left recently. 
Next day early morning outside of the red gigantic door at Seville house... "Easter Bunny? Oh." "Are you okay," Giant Anna? Her adopted normal-size African American mental retardation stepmom Dionne Allen came here. "No. I thought Easter bunny didn't come here!?," Mom. She banged the upstairs recently. "Sighs. I close the gigantic door now. Huh?" "Yawning! I have to take a newspaper from the doorstep now," Dionne. My giant husband Dave Seville banged from my master bedroom. "Giant Dave, we are having a serious problem with our adopted giant daughter Anna is upset because Easter Bunny didn't show here." His normal-size beloved African American mental retardation wife Dionne Seville talked to him recently. "Hmm... I will pay visit with Easter Bunny after breakfast." To be continued...

I finished my meal at the Boar's Belly and said goodbye to Travis and Amelia. The overly large man tried to give me hug which I adamantly refused since he was still covered in sweat. Amelia just looked at the ground and drew circles with her toes. What an unusual pair.
As I left the restaurant I patted my stomach. The meal cooked by Travis was truly delicious and abundant. It's no wonder he did so well in my past life the man really had a talent for cooking meat. I was thoroughly satisfied with both the meal and the deal we had struck. 
Remembering the deal I looked at the deflated sack on my waist. I couldn't help but sigh. I knew the investment would be worth it, but it still sucks to be almost completely broke. I went from having over 100 gold coins to having 1.
At this point it was well past midday. Judging by the position of the sun I would say I had about two hours left before nightfall. 
I headed towards Black Claw Inn. The inn was located almost right at the center of the town and wasn't too far away from were I was. Although most things aren't very far the village is essentially a two kilometer by two kilometer square. The entire village is within walking distance. 
There are some facilities outside of the main village. For instance there are an east and west barracks that are on the outside of the village walls. There are gates on the east and west side, but they are for mercenary group members only. Villagers and travelers must enter through the south and north gates. The barracks are strategically located there to protect the Lord's Manor on the east and the production facilities on the west. 
For instance, the paper making facility and water processing plant are in the west. The residential areas are located in between the main street in the middle and Lord's Manor on the east as well as the main street and the production facilities on the west. Obviously, residences closer the Lord's Manor are better and are reserved for important figures. That is where my Captain Manor as well as the origin stone are. Residences on the west side are essentially the slums reserved for the poor working folk. This is where Boar's Belly is. 
All of these aspects are designed with a purpose and were no doubt prepared ahead of time for Morrow by someone working for his dad. Lower class residences are close to the production facilities where they will work. This also separates them from the higher class residences on the other side of main street. With the main street in the middle acting as a commerce hub the higher and lower class citizens can exchange goods with minimal contact. Expanding in the future won't be difficult as most buildings are made of wood and are only semi-permanent anyways. Even the village walls are constructed of wood.
Other than that there are facilities outside of the village such as granaries, a dock, and even a mining quarry about 20 kilometers to the north. All of this falls under Morrows purview. 
While Morrow's way of separating citizens into a caste-like system disgusts me. It is wonderfully designed to achieve it's purpose, making Morrow as powerful as possible as quick as possible. 
As I continued walking to the inn I began thinking of ways I would change the system to be more fair and give people a chance to develop themselves. I'm by no means a saint, I will not give handouts to everyone, people need to work for what they have. At the same time I won't give favor to those I want to have power and suppress those that don't benefit me. Nor will I allow a few to get wealthy on the backs of the many. If a person works hard and treats people justly and fairly he can build as much wealth as he wants, but those who are corrupt or cause suffering will face my wrath.
As I neared the Inn I snapped out of my daydream of ruling a city as a just leader and focused back on my environment. In the end I wasn't at that stage yet, nor was that my end goal. 
I walked into Black Claw Inn and just as I was about to ascend the stairs towards my room the receptionist stopped me and said, "Sir, a man stopped by the Inn and requested I give this note to a man fitting your description."
Confused I grabbed the note. Who knew I was staying here?
As I read the note I couldn't help chuckling. It was the tailor I befriended at the village entrance, even though it's only been a day if feels like a long time ago and I had almost forgot about him. I didn't even get his name or give him mine so he had to give the receptionist my description. The note was simple and said that he had established a small shop in the west residential district and gave directions on how to get there.
I quickly went up the stairs and gathered what was left of my things. Nothing of Valerian's was left in the room since he had came and collected it before heading to the G'eth Village to warn them. At best he would be back midday in two days. Valerian and I had paid for a weeks stay at the inn when we got the room last night so Valerian would come here when he got back. Just in case he didn't hear the news about me becoming Captain I left a note with details about what happened and that I would meet him here. Before I could come up with a plausible reason to have him stay at the Captain's Manor I couldn't let Morrow know about him.
As I left the Inn I considered heading to the Captain's Manor, but decided to go ahead and visit the tailor instead. At the least I needed to let him know that I would be residing at the Captain's Manor now. From the directions I knew the tailor's shop was on the opposite side of the west residential area as Boar's Belly. The tailor's shop was in the south and Boar's Belly was in the north. 
As I walked I paid attention to the people passing by in the streets, every human race was present. By the 26th century on Earth most cultural lines were already blurred and the universal human language was adopted in the 23rd century so almost no one spoke a different language. There were still separate countries and militaries still existed but a war hadn't happened for a hundred years. After coming to Agartha cultural lines basically disappeared, humans were scattered and couldn't easily separate into culture based communities. Also the threat of other sentient races and beasts forced humans to unite as one race. They couldn't afford to have cultural biases anymore, survival was more important than anything. 
Sometimes, however, you could still pick out the differences. Humans have different skin tones and behaviors. For instance, Travis Miller was clearly from a western society based off his appearance and how he acted. Even though some differences were still there people just didn't care about them like they did before. 
I observed all the people I walked by till I arrived in front of the place the note directed me to, but I didn't see a sign so I walked up and knocked on the door. I heard quick footsteps rush to the door and it swung open. The young tailor was standing at the door and a big grin broke out when he saw me standing there.
"Such perfect timing! Come in! Come in!"
He practically dragged me into the building. Inside was a small open area which is where I assumed he would put the items on display in the future. However, we passed through here to a room in the back. As I entered I noticed many machines and apparatuses all around the room. They must be used for making clothes, however, I have no idea what they were.
Since we had stopped I said, "I noticed you don't have a sign out front."
He responded as he was gathering things in a corner of the room, "Yeah we aren't really ready to open yet. Also we haven't thought of a good name."
When he turned back around he presented me with a package, pride practically beaming from his eyes, "This is yours."
In the package was a pair of leather pants, a shirt, a leather jacket, a pair of boots, a pair of wool socks, a leather belt, and two sheathes. I was stunned.
I looked at him and said, "I thought you said it would take a few days? How could you have made all this so soon?"
His grin was so big I thought his face would rip, "I'll admit I had some help. The supplies for my shop were prepared by a friend beforehand so I didn't have to gather the materials. The money you gave me helped move things along and my wife and I stayed up all night to work on it. I told you I was a talented tailor. On Earth I worked for the military so I was used to rushed orders and staying up all night. Even though a war hadn't happened in a long time those guys were always strict and demanded perfection.
I was genuinely stunned, the clothes were top notch even by Earths standards. It's impressive he was even able to make these on Agartha, much less in one day.
"I don't think we ever exchanged names. I'm Troy Hargrave. What's your's?"
He grinned, "Connor O'Dell, my wife is named Anna. I can't thank you enough for what you did yesterday. If you'd like to see how everything fits you can change in there."
He was energetic and talked like he would run out of time. He pointed to a nearby door. 
After changing into the new clothes I stepped back out into the workshop room. The clothes fit like silk. Everything was form fitting yet it didn't hamper my movement at all. I performed a few of the poses from the Quicksilver Blade Manual. It felt like I might as well be doing them naked. Even the sheathes had special connectors to my belt that allowed me to quickly access them and didn't interfere with my movements.
Connor looked me over seeming satisfied with his work. 
"I noticed the inner armor you were wearing before so I made adjustments to accustom it. I also figured you were the dexterity type based on your build so I focused on maximum maneuverability. However, that means I had to sacrifice defense, hard leather would be able to block some blades, but this leather is a lot softer and is easily sliced open. At most it can slow down rusty or dull blades. However, If you look closely there are inserts for arm guards and shinguard's. If you decide to equip any in the future this can increase your defense, but might impact your maneuverability. It might not properly adjust to all kinds so come back and I can make the changes for you. Same goes for if you put on a lot of muscle and need it refitted."
His attention to detail is remarkable, "Thank you. This is worth way more than the money I gave you."
"Nonsense," He responded waving his hands around as if it was no big deal. 
I stayed and talked with him about his future plans and even his wife came out and chatted for a while. She had been napping after working all night and most of the day. Eventually, it was time to leave and I waved goodbye to the tailor and his wife and began heading towards the Captains Manor. I had already decided I would send as much business his way as possible and my personal force will be outfitted by him alone in the future.

By the early 26th Century humanity had exhausted all resources that could sustain human life. Fortunately, in a science experiment in 2008 something unexpected occurred ripping open a portal to a completely different universe. Humanity spent the next 500 years preparing for their migration to the planet of Agartha.   

Humanity couldn't bring any of their advanced technology. However, they managed to create a system that allowed humans to develop themselves and gain abilities similar to the native sentient species of Agartha. To humans this system appeared and functioned almost like a video game.

***[Plot]***
After living on Agartha for ten years our MC dies under the blade of the person he was desperately trying to find and protect, his brother. However, through some twist of fate he wakes up alive and back on Earth, returned to the day he migrated to Agartha. A time before he suffered through unspeakable hardships and adversity. A time before he witnessed the cruelty of humanity. A time before he was used and tossed away by others.

Our MC decides that he cannot allow the injustices of his past life to repeat themselves. That he will use what he has learned over his ten years of struggle to become someone who cannot be ignored, cannot be trampled, someone with real strength. 

Follow our MC as he struggles to overcome his weakness, faces the enemies of his past, uncovers the truth about his brother, and confronts situations that make him question his humanity.

Yang Yun frowned when he saw the change in her expression. He took Mingyue's hands in his and asked, "Are you alright?"
"Un," Mingyue nodded. Her grip on that brown leather book tightened. Then, she continued to flip through the book and stopped at another scene. At this time, the main characters in the book were in a relationship. They have met each other's family and were going to get married soon. This time, the boy got himself injured while he was in his mission. The physician could not do anything. Then, Jiang Mingyue volunteered to do a minor surgery for the boy.
From then on, Mingyue continued to read the book silently, while the black cat curled at her feet as if guarding her.
Yang Yun sighed when he saw that Mingyue was concentrating on the book. Half an hour has passed, and it didn't look like Mingyue was about to stop reading anytime soon. Therefore, Yang Yun went back into the kitchen and brewed some tea.
When he came back with a tray of refreshment, Mingyue had put down the book on her laps, and she was seen massaging her temple.
"What's wrong?" Yang Yun put the tray on the coffee table and rushed towards Mingyue's side.
"I'm fine," Lin Mingyue said. "My eyes are a bit tired after reading for too long."
Yang Yun frowned. Of course, he did not believe her words. Earlier, he had seen how she had winced in pain. Yang Yun grabbed her hand to check on her pulse. Once he found that there was nothing wrong with it, Yang Yun let out a breath of relief.
"You're too worried," Mingyue pointed out. She forced a smile as another pain throbbing in her head. She did not know why, but the pain was starting to appear more frequent.
"You're my wife, if I don't worry about you, who should I worry about?"
Lin Mingyue stiffened when Yang Yun called her his wife. She wanted to say something about it, but Mingyue felt as if something got stuck on her throat. She can only look away as she suppressed both her shyness and excitement,
Yang Yun turned and grabbed a cup of tea for his wife. "Drink some."
Mingyue obediently took a few sips before she put it back on the table. Her eyes laid on the brown leather book on her laps. She closed the book and handed it back to Yang Yun.
"How-how was it?"
Lin Mingyue frowned as the thought of teasing him surfaced. But once she saw the anxious look on his face, the idea gradually vanished. A small smile appeared on her face, turning Yang Yun into a daze momentarily.
Throb!
She winced again at the throbbing pain in her head. She thought back to the story she had read. In the end, Jiang Mingyue disappeared, and the couple was separated. Lin Mingyue did not understand why Yang Yun would write something so sad.
"This is not the ending, right? Tell me there's going to be a continuation after the couple separated."
"Of course," Yang Yun nodded.
Hearing that the story has not ended yet, Lin Mingyue sighed in relief. She wanted to ask if the couple will someday meet again, but decided that she did not want any spoilers.
"You know," Mingyue turned her body to face him so that she could get a better look at his face. "This is an interesting story. I can see that you're a decent writer."
"Decent?"
Lin Mingyue laughed at his teasing smile. "Alright. Maybe a little talented." She rolled her eyes playfully at him. She laughed again when she saw the frown on his face.
Yang Yun looked up to study her face. A face he was so familiar with. Her gentle face. Her big, brown eyes. Her warm smile. Her laughing voice…Those red shades on her cheek that spread to her neck and ears when she gets embarrassed.
"Yang Yun?"
He snapped out of his trance.
Lin Mingyue looked at him uncomfortably. The red specks on her cheek were starting to get visible. "Why are you looking at me like that?"
He shook his head and forced a smile. When Yang Yun looked at her face again, a mixture of emotion attacked him all at once. He wanted her to know that the characters in the story were them.
Yang Yun pursed his lips, then he said, "What if… What if I tell you that the story isn't just a story?"
She frowned. "What do you mean?"
"The story that you read," he spoke. "Everything I wrote in that brown book, what if I told you that everything was real? That you and Jiang Mingyue are the same person? That the nameless boy in the story was me?"
Lin Mingyue frowned when she felt another jolt of pain on her head. She recovered quickly and laughed. "You're joking, right?" her frown deepened when she saw that he didn't look like he was joking. "You're saying that this story," she gestured towards the brown leather book on the table. "Everything in here is real?"
Yang Yun nodded. 
Mingyue shook her head. "You're out of your mind."
"Mingyue…" his voice sounded pleading. "You have to believe me. Everything in there is real. You lost a part of your memory when you came to this world. I wrote this story to let you remember your past and everything."
Mingyue sighed exasperatedly. "First of all, I don't believe in reincarnation."
"I'm not saying anything about reincarnation."
"Then what?" she raised a brow. "Time traveling? Are you sure you haven't been watching too much sci-fi?" She pursed her lips when he didn't say anything. "Let's see," she took the book and flipped through the pages. "You're out of your mind." She stood up and leaned towards him to place her hand on his forehead.
He flinched. "What are you doing?"
"Checking to see if you had a fever," she said with a sigh. "But, you seem healthy."
"I'm not sick."
"I know."
"I'm not crazy." Yang Yun closed his eyes when she looked at him in doubt. He had been searching for her for years. And right now, the love of his life was standing right in front of him. But she doesn't seem to remember him. 
She lifted her hand, and her fingers rested on his cheek. "I like you, Yang Yun." She drew her hand and frowned. "But I don't understand why do you want to force me to accept this?" She closed her eyes briefly. "Sometimes, I wonder if you really love me, or am I just a substitute to someone you knew in your past."
