"Janice! I need a new suit," He said, only after seeing his assistant nod did he continue, "And have Pierre delete the footage of any security cameras on G street."
  
"Are there any witnesses to be dealt with this time, Jarres?" Janice asked with an amiable attitude as she followed him into his office, closing the door behind her. However, once she was finally alone with him, she changed her posture to match the personality of a teenager. Though she waited patiently as she watched him think about it, she looked rather tired of his antics. 

"Hm... yes, make them forget what happened, please." Jarres answered after a bit of thought. He smiled when the girl from earlier appeared in his mind. He added to his orders, "Tell Pierre I want the name of a girl. If he watches the footage from earlier he should know who I'm talking about."

"So what happened?" Janice asked with a sigh.

"The craziest thing really. I was crushed by a large piece of cement from the building on G street." Jarres turned to look back at her with an amused smile. 

"I see, I'll have to look into that, huh? Now I suppose I'll go get you some new attire." Janice turned on her heels, her professional aura returning as she walked out the door of his office.

"That's why you're the best!" He called after her as she left. Once he was alone he went to sit at his desk, after dying once today he was rather energized, time to start doing paperwork!

Jarres picked up a document requesting to add a new phone to his company, Cloud, that needed his approval. However, he found a problem with it, a big one. First off, it stated that the software format would be largely different, which would cause some difficulties for people switching. Worst part, Pierre wouldn't be used to the new security format so it would take time for him to hack, if he ever needed to. He'd have to fire whoever came up with the idea of changing it up so suddenly. After denying the request for the new phone he continued with the rest.

Once he is on break he planned to 'die'. Besides being immortal, he can choose how long he can go without being revived, so it would be easy to fake his death and wake up in a casket later on. Dying earlier that day was a simple minor hiccup that could be dealt with. Jarres's attention was taken away from his work when someone barged into his office.

"Phil! Why can't you be a little more careful!?" In came Pierre! His untamed hair and poise resembling some sort of lowlife. He was holding a folded business suit, Janice must've sent him.

"Who's Phil?" Jarres nonchalantly looked up from his documents.

"Your new identity. Oh and don't worry, I'll take good care of your company while you're 'dead'." Pierre tossed the suit to his seemingly good friend. He added, "You look like you just went through a meat grinder by the way."

"...it's Jarres's 40th birthday, I'm not getting any older and people will start noticing, after all I still pass for a teenager... How old is Phil?" 'Jarres' leaned back in his chair, ignoring Pierre's comments and getting straight to the point.

"Sixteen, Your full name is Phillip Adam Johnson." Pierre replied with a little more seriousness.

"How original..." 'Phillip' smiled. How weird to go from 40 to 16, he was really pushing the limit on his age. Truthfully, he looked to be about 20, luckily with cosmetics he could always make himself look a bit older. Growing some facial hair always helped as well, oh that's right, he'd have to shave now. 'Phil' watched as Pierre turned to leave.

I'll cease to update on webnovel! I had in the past promised to not scratch this story, and i won't, just... Wattpad gives me more options in my writing style.

Lucian - A few weeks prior...

I stare at my jacket, laying it over the arm of the tufted leather chair in the corner of my office. I need to leave this fucking building and get home, but I don't fucking want to. It's not like I have anything waiting for me. Nothing to do but more work.

I've spent a fortune on my home. I built it from the ground up, painstakingly choosing every piece of hardware and meticulously designing each room myself. But I couldn't give a damn if I go back there anymore.

It's cold and lifeless. Empty.

My brow furrows, and a frustrated sigh leaves my lips. I could keep working. There's always more work waiting.

I clench my jaw and type the password to unlock my computer, the gentle tapping of the keys soothing me. It's a comforting sound. But only for a moment.

As the screen lights up and I glance at the window of emails left on the desktop, I seethe and remember why I'm in such a horrible fucking mood. My eyes focus on the lawyer's name attached to the most recent email. This is why I'm so damn pissed and aggravated.

I'm fucking tired of leeches always suing me. Trying to take a piece of me they haven't earned. Most of the lawsuits don't bother me. It comes with the territory. But my family, and my ex-wife? It fucking shreds me, and I hate that I ever felt anything for them. At some point in time I had feelings for them, emotions I've long since grown cold.

Now there's only anger.

I steady myself, knowing they've tried this before and failed. They'll keep trying, and it's aggravating, but I refuse to give them anything. I've learned my lesson the hard way. I know better now.

It's been a long time since I've seen an email from Madam Lynn. And an even longer time since I've set foot into the club. The pad of my thumb rubs along the tips of both my middle finger and forefinger, itching to see what's inside.

Images flash before my eyes, and I can practically hear the soft sounds of the whip smacking against flesh and a moan forced from the Submissive's lips. Never to hurt, only for pleasure. Whips aren't my tool of choice, nor what I've been known for in the past. But nonetheless, the memory kicks the corners of my lips up into a grin. I tap my fingers on the desk, debating on opening the message before moving the mouse over to the email and clicking on it out of curiosity.

I huff a laugh at the message and immediately hit the intercom button on my desktop phone for my secretary. It's not yet five, so she better fucking be at her desk still.

"Yes, Mr. Stone?" she responds, and her voice comes through with a sweet and casual air.

"Could you bring me my mail, please?" Although it's poised as a question, it isn't one. There's only one correct response, and she knows that.

There's no hesitation as Linda says, "Of course." Her voice is slightly raspy. Linda's old, to put it bluntly; she should retire.

If I was her I would, rather than putting up with my arrogant ass.

I'm happy she hasn't though. Every year I pay her more money to stay. A hefty raise, a gift here and there. It keeps her happy. Finding a good secretary is more work than it's worth. It was a pain in my ass when I started. Linda's the first I've been able to keep for more than two months and now that she knows what she's doing, with more than four years of working for me, I have no intention of finding a new secretary. So when I make a request, I say please.

I go through the emails remaining in my inbox, waiting impatiently for her soft knock on the door to my office. Usually I don't bother with the paper mail. Just like most of these fucking emails, they're junk. She knows what to do with them. So I leave it to her to organize and sift through it daily. She hands over the personal mail at her discretion, usually waiting until the end of the week to bring it all by, but this particular one I want right now. I'm not interested in waiting.

The light knocking at the door echoes in the small room, and I look at the clock. It's only three minutes later. Not bad, Linda.

"Come in," I call out and she does so quickly, closing the door behind her. She walks straight to my desk, not wasting any time. Her pink tweed skirt suit looks rather expensive. It's a Chanel, if I'm correct. I see she's putting that last bonus to good use.

"This is from today," she says, placing a compact stack in front of me, "and this-"

I stop her, waving my hand and pulling out the small, square, deep red envelope. "No need."

She collects the remaining mail, tapping it lightly on the desk to line everything up together and asks, "Anything else, sir?"

The use of sir catches me off guard, and for a moment I wonder if she knows who the sender of this particular piece of mail is, but her face is passive. And it isn't the first time she's called me sir. Most of my employees do. Linda just happens to use it less often than most.

I shake my head and say, "That's all." The lines around her eyes are soft, and her lips to hold the faintest form of a smile. Linda's always smiling despite having to deal with me. She takes my hot temper in stride. That's one of the reasons I'm eager for her to stay.

She nods her head before turning on her heels. I wait until she's gone to open the envelope.

I watch her leave and listen to the door clicked shut, leaving me in my spacious office alone and in solitude. Just the way I prefer it.

I finally open the envelope with the letter opener on my desk, avoiding the black wax seal embossed with a bold X entirely.

The thick cream parchment slips out easily from the elegant envelope, and the handwritten message is in Madam Lynn's beautiful penmanship. If nothing else, I admire her flair.

I can practically hear her sultry voice whispering in my ear as I read the sophisticated script.

    Dear Sir,

An auction is to be held and I personally wanted to invite you, Lucian. It's been far too long, and I know you're in need. Renew your membership first.

An asymmetric smile plays on my lips as I take in her message. I may be Sir, but she is certainly a Madam. I sit back in my leather desk chair and tap the parchment against the desk as I debate on whether or not I should attend.

It's been nearly a year since I've been to Club X. Even longer since I've had a Submissive, and only one of those was purchased at one of the monthly auctions. She lasted the longest, but only because she was required to.

It would be a nice distraction from the mundane. I muse, staring absently at the back wall lined with black and white sketches from an up-and-coming artist.

Before I can decide, my desk phone rings, bringing me back to the present. I lean forward with annoyance and answer it.

"Stone," I answer.

"Lucian," my sister's voice comes through the line. It's bright and cheery, everything my younger sister embodies. Bubbly is what she likes to be called.

But her happiness doesn't rub off on me. Not after reading the fucking emails from our parents' lawyer. I doubt she knows, and it's not her fault.

She reminds me of them, though. I wish it wasn't like this. I wish I could separate the two, but I can't. They manipulate her, and it's only a matter of time before they'll come up in conversation. Shit, our parents could be why she's calling now.

"Anna, how are you?" I ask her casually. I trace my finger along the wax seal of the envelope as I listen.

"I've been good, but I've been missing you..." she trails off as her voice goes distant. I don't respond. I don't care to admit my feelings either way. Yes, there's a bit of pain from losing contact with my sister, but she chooses to keep in touch with them. She made that decision. And I refuse to have any contact with them.

"It's been too long," she says in a sad voice and then her tone picks up. "We should do lunch sometime soon."

I take in a long breath, not wanting to commit to anything. Lunches are quick unless it's a business meeting. Then they aren't really lunches. But beyond that, I don't have much to tell her. I'm certainly not going to be telling her what she wants to hear.

"Maybe soon," I finally reply.

She huffs over the phone, "You say that when you really mean no." Her voice is playful and forces a rough chuckle up my chest. She may only be nineteen, but Anna's a smart girl. I can't deny her. No matter how much I wish I could, I have a soft spot for her.

I lean forward and pull up my calendar. "I can do Thursday."

"Deal," she quickly agrees, and I can practically feel her smile through the phone. It warms my chest that I can make her happy. Unlike the rest of them, she doesn't take, take, take from me. She truly just wants to see me.

"I've missed you, too, Anna."

"Well you won't have to, since I'll text you and see you on Thursday," she says confidently.

"I will. I'll talk to you then." I'm quick to end the call before she can drag me into a longwinded conversation. She can do that on Thursday for all I care.

"Talk to you then. I love you," she says brightly.

"Talk to you then," I answer and hang up the phone.

As I do, my eyes catch sight of the card and I pick it up and rise from my desk, slinging my jacket over my arm and thinking about the last time I was there.

It's been a long time since I've set foot in Club X.

And a visit is long overdue.

"Yes, I won't let you take those kinds of risks anymore. I am sure that I do not have to ask the three of them to watch over you when I am not home. They did a lovely job while I was away and I will trust them. I remember my parents panicking about something back in the day but they never revealed what it was about." Leo retracted his hand and eats a little more, "my vacation has been extended for a few days because of it being disrupted. I will stay home here with you and then I sadly will have to go back to work."
"If you are going to be home for a few days may I request that I borrow Luke and take him back to meet my father? Since he is from my clan I would prefer to introduce him as quickly as possible. I had the task of finding him and his family. So now that I have found him I need to take him back to meet my father." Carlos looks down at his food while asking this.
"I don't see why you shouldn't take him to meet your father. That is if Luke would like to go? I will not force him to do anything that he doesn't want to do." Leo looks at Luke who is on the other side of Kitty. 
"I would like to go. Carlos brought me something to read but I think it would be good to meet the one who knew my parents before they were killed." Luke had been listening and slowly eating 
"I think it would be a good thing for Luke to go and meet Jaxson. Also, Cindy, you will go with them. I would like to spend some alone time with Leo before he gets busy again. You guys can head over there after you collect the mail and bring it back here." Kitty finishes off her breakfast and goes to the living room.
Cindy's face goes beet red and she nods her head yes to imply that she will follow Kitty's request. 
Leo looks at Luke after Kitty leaves the room. He waves his hand and beckons Luke over. Once Luke is close enough he whispers, "can you bring me the ring to me before you leave? I think this will be a good time to propose to Kitty."
Carlos hears what he said and looked to the door hoping that Kitty is far enough away that she doesn't hear what Leo had said. "If you don't want her to find out I would suggest not saying it out loud. She has insanely good hearing."
"I can testify to that. Kitty's hearing is better than all the other fox demons but she probably went to lay down. So we should probably be safe." Cindy looks at the group at the table. 
Luke got up and crept to the living room and found that Kitty was sleeping soundly on the couch. He crept back to the kitchen silently. "She is indeed asleep right now so I do not think that she heard the conversation. I will grab it after I am done eating." He sat back down and finished his food and then took more to eat. 
"Honestly I wasn't worried about her hearing. I am planning to propose to her while you guys are out of the house. I'll cook a fancy dinner, light some candles on the kitchen table, spread rose petals all over and then after dessert I will ask her to marry me. Can I request while you are in town for you to pick me up some red, white and blue roses? Charge it to the food account. I've already added more than enough for the flowers."
"Your request is easy for me to get done. I will call the store and see how much they have in stock so that I can just grab them and bring them back here for you, Leo." Carlos gets up and walks to the back door and quickly calls the flower shop. 
"Thank you for calling Beautiful Blossoms! How may I help you today?" A cheerful voice comes through the phone. 
"Hi, it's Carlos. I need every red, white and blue rose you have in stock. I will come by to pick them up in about two hours. If that is enough time?" Carlos looks out a the pool while standing outside. 
"Of course. Two hours should be enough time. I will make sure I get the request done personally. If I am going to need a little extra time I will call you and let you know. Do you know if the flowers need to be wrapped up?" She starts to grab the roses and set them aside. 
"Let me double-check." Carlos puts the phone on hold and then goes back inside. "Leo, can you tell the girl what exactly you want done with the flowers. I haven't the faintest clue." He hands his phone to Leo and sits back down. 
Leo took the phone and walked outside. After unmuting the phone he says, "if it is not too much trouble I want the petals for all the red and white roses plucked off and the blue roses if you could bundle them up that would be most appreciated." He leaned against the wall outside in the shade. 
"S-sir Leo. Of course, that is no issue. This is a request from the one who saved this town I have no quarrels doing this for you. For the blues roses would you like them on their own or accented with another flower? If you don't mind me being so bold on asking who is the flowers for? It will help me design the perfect bouquet."
"They're for my future wife. I leave the design up to you. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you." Standing there he has the urge to go back inside and see how Kitty was doing. 'I have been away for too long and now I worry she will leave or that this is all but a dream.'
"F-FUTURE WIFE!!!! That is wonderful news. Congratulations, Sir Leo! There is no inconvenience really. I just have to order more flowers and get them delivered. I will prepare the blue roses for your beloved right away." She bows while on the phone with him. 
"Thank you. I look forward to seeing what you can come up with. I have to go and continue my proposal plans. Have a lovely day." Leo says this and hangs up the phone then heads back inside. He slides Carlos's phone to him on the table. "It's all settled. I'm going to sit with Kitsune while she rests." He walks out of the room and goes to the living room. He sits on the edge of the couch that she was laying on and pulled out a book and started to read.

With nothing to do and his curiosity about the system taking part in his mind, he concluded that there was no harm in doing what it says. Being able to increase his survival rate in battles would be a good thing, as he was not an expert in combat. Since he would require permission to leave the base, he contacted the Colonel. Being a Special Agent, Hector received a higher level of priority. It didn't take long before a digital response was made in his e-mail.

He could guess that the Colonel wanted him to have a personal bond with his combat squad. They need to have trust in their commander so that during missions arguments would be kept short. There is no reason to refuse such an indirect order since it would eventually benefit him.

Hector took his jacket lying on the sofa and wore it. He shut down the room via a remote before walking towards the bunk of his squad. The squad was notified as they were all already lining up outside their bunk ready to leave the base. 

"Let's go!" 

With a simple command, the soldiers walked with Hector as their direction. 

'Looks like they will be much easier to control than I expected' 

Since they covered their faces with helmets, he couldn't see their expression but his gut was telling him they were nervous as hell. They were talking to each prefers in private communications. 

'Do you know what we will do? ' 

'The Colonel said nothing about it besides monitoring his actions and guarding him' 

'Hopefully, nothing goes wrong. I have enough slaps already. ' 

'Same here. I heard that some soldiers were used as experiments. ' 

'Quiet down. If that was true then the bureau would have investigated it already. ' 

The nearby soldiers were gazing at Hector and his squad. Who the heck are they? There was nearly no record of a field officer receiving his protection detail. Knowing that he must be some big shot, they gave him the way and didn't dare to badmouth them at the back anymore. This made Hector's soldiers smile in their helmets. No one would dare to bully them anymore. 

At the checkpoint, the guards saluted before opening the gate, allowing them to leave in a jeep. 
Hector isn't good at driving, so he got one of his soldiers to do it. Rheafora Dergiel was chosen to do it. She is a professional driver in the military with no records of failing any trial. The journey to the capital city of Zoe Nation, which is part of the Phoenix Republic, was quite smooth. There was no need for any inspection as there was an I.S.B. Officer inside. Arriving at the city, Hector receives multiple notifications.

Normally, there would not be much drastic increase in security, but a field officer from the I.S. B. carried a lot of power and credibility. The police station did not hesitate to request reinforcements from the province headquarters, even the reserve maximum response unit was called in for emergency response. Upon hearing the seriousness of the situation, Republic Police Commissioner Craestia Aborimus went down to said protection area with a platoon of police officers mixed with security droids. The police officers were dressed in uniforms resembling the 2020 American Style. Hector was busy scanning the citizens to discover the targets. But what he didn't expect was it for the Commissioner to be it. She is a beauty to be reckoned with. Her blonde ponytail hair and her cute facial features would make any man want her. Her figure is more enchanting, making rejecting her impossible. But for Hector and his squad who was already trained in many psychological ways, they were not affected at all.

Craestia was also shocked, but for a different reason, she wasn't expecting a handsome young man to be the field officer, especially someone much younger than her. "Yes, Ma'am"

The two of them entered the local police station, specifically the safety bunker. Ordinary police officers wouldn't know about this place assumed it would be quite safe in the possibility of traitors that the I.S.B. usually dealt with. The two of them entered it alone and left the guards outside to guard it.

"So what clues do you have about our opponent?"
"Do you believe in supernatural powers ?"
" Not really, I believe in reality and see it as the whole truth."
" How do you think I know about this only after taking my leave?"
"You mean.."
"That's right, it is within our assumption that the famous murderer nicknamed "The Deadclaw" is one of them. Knowing that his plan had worked, he continued to persuade her to execute his plans, which were to locate the remaining candidates and evacuate the district. It was simply too dangerous to let the attacker loose as they would be at a disadvantage.

It is now night time. The crescent moon has replaced the bright sun. The sky was shaking and a crack appeared. Tenths of medieval dark warriors appeared and began killing citizens. This was done purposely by the demon forces to lure the holy warriors to their trap. If they didn't respond, then their faith and will would shatter. Either way, it would destroy them. 

The bullets prove ineffective to eliminate the threat as it takes about a magazine of the rifle to kill one. Many civilians can be seen panicking and running around the streets, abandoning their vehicles and belongings. Despite their efforts resulting in vain, the officers did not hesitate to use their bodies to shield the citizens. It was what they signed up for, to protect their friends, family, and others. Steadily, however, the number of demon force was rapidly decreasing for some unknown reason. Not long after, a loud buzz could be heard above the ground.

A Hovering Assault Transport Carrier can be seen in the sky escorted by a squadron of fighters. It deployed a skyscraper-tall four-legged combat walker equipped with heavy blaster cannons on the wide desert. The combat vehicle known as AT Mark 1 is the strongest assault vehicle ever to be invented. Its only weaknesses are rocket turrets and another walker of the same type. For some reason though, it turned it's weapon facing the police officers and shot them. The explosion was so loud that the people underground could hear it. It didn't take long before a large spaceship hovered above the city and an announcement was made.

" By the order of Represident Freya, the nation is under heavy lockdown. The President has committed treason against the Republic and confessed to receiving a threat from the local military and police force. Turn yourself in or be terminated."

The instant Feng Lin's words rang out, they were like thunder from a clear sky, causing this entire space to fall silent.
The eyes of the clansmen turned to each other, and they had strange looks on their faces, suspecting that they had heard wrongly.
"Interesting!" On the tall platform, the demonically handsome man stood up and seriously surveyed Feng Lin. The interest in his eyes grew stronger and stronger as though he was looking at an extremely exciting toy.
"Arrogant! Do you think that you are an elite cultivator? Which one of us isn't an expert among interstellar cultivators? You actually dare to say such a thing? Truly, ignorance is bliss!" Feng Jinpeng was of the direct line of descent. Thus, he had never seen someone that was even more arrogant than him. He was the first that could no longer suppress his emotions and immediately cursed out loud.

"You are an upper-class clansman, how can you be bullied by lower-class clansman?"
"Quickly defeat this brat to crush his arrogance!"

Seeing that things were turning chaotic, the clan leader finally couldn't bear it any longer. "Silence!"
As he shouted, his voice rolled through the air, thundering out loud, instantly overwhelming the comments made by the crowd.

"Good idea!" The frown on the clan leader's face smoothed as a smile appeared on his face.
By doing so, he could satisfy Feng Lin's request and protect the pride of the Feng Clan's geniuses.
He no longer hesitated. "Now, I will announce that the ranking competition's format will be changed to a free-for-all at this last combat round. The top ten participants will fight on the same platform and the longer they can last, the higher their rankings would be. The one who remains standing at the end would be the victor, the strongest genius of the Feng Clan!"
After a short period of astonishment, the crowd all burst into cheers of excitement.
This was a brand new format where the top ten would fight chaotically against each other. The battle scenes would surely be much more fascinating and intense. How exciting!
They didn't expect that the clan leader would actually agree to Feng Lin's arrogant suggestion.
But one couldn't help say that this was truly a good idea.
Countless pair of eyes stared at the designated platform unblinkingly, afraid to miss out on any fascinating scenes.
These participants also felt astonished but after they recovered from their shock, they all moved up to the designated platform. Their gazes now when they stared at Feng Lin became more sinister than before.
It's fine like this then. We can join forces and instantly force you off the platform, making you become the first loser. At that time, we want to see how arrogant you can be.
As they slowly approached Feng Lin, a smile could be seen on their faces. However, their smiles soon disappeared at the next instant.

All they could do was open their eyes and stare at the figure that was akin to either a god or a devil. Their expressions were filled with stark disbelief.
