It's winter now, the most unproductive time of the year.  Winter is when the new year starts, as it is the end of the harvesting season.  Nothing, specific, happens to celebrate the start of the new year.  It just seems to be a way to count the number of years to have passed.  And it is also the end of the continuous toil of the previous year.  It is just another year.

The primary things my sister and I do during this time of the year, is to be educated in things outside of daily life.  Shocking to mean, and my assumption, is that most people are literate.  I know, it is surprising.  I always assumed that reading and writing was something most, non-wealthy, people did not know how to do.  Then again, if I would have considered, messages, request, and such need to be remembered.  If somebody asks you to help them out with something, in the future, it is easy enough to forget what was needed.  So writing is used.

I think I like this way of writing better, than my previous writing system of the Latin alphabet.  Instead of trying to combine letters together, to approximate a word, this one is different.  It uses syllabic sounds per character.  Once you learn the alphabet, with the sounds included, it is relatively simplistic to be able to write any word.  Yes, there are more characters to learn. However, once you do, if you know how to pronounce a word, it is easy.  No more worrying about weird spellings of words.

Along with learning to read and write, math is taught.  This scared me more than anything else, before I started to learn it.  I have understood, but not been fluent in, other base numbers, other than base 10.  Luckily, though, what is common, is base 10 numbers.  Learning how to write it was interesting.  The characters are basically made by making hash markings along a central character.  I will not bore you over the characters, but for me, it was... fun to expand my knowledge.

Oh yeah, did I tell you what we write on?  It is not paper.  Why would it be paper?  Paper is a complex thing to make, or at least I think it is.  And it is not animal skin.  Who would waste leather, just to write a few characters, here and there.  Leather is more useful than as a thing put writing on.  No, it is wood bark.  Somehow, in the area we lived, the trees have a thin bark, that when soaked and pressed down, becomes a wonderful medium to write upon.  Now if we had something better than charcoal pencils to write with.  This is not the best way to write information to store over long periods of time, as the bark will slowly crack.  But to learn how to read and write, it's perfect.

Katarina, my; dear, sweet, wonderful, beautiful, cheerful, sister.  What?  What?  Was I gushing out over my sister?  Of course not.  She is to precious to debase with something so mundane as gushing.

Well, anyways, Katarina, unlike me, does not have the benefit of a previous life, to help bolster her learning capabilities.  Nor does she have the inquisitiveness of me.  That is not to say that she is dumb.  No, she is like most kids, sitting still and trying to learn is a chore, in itself, for her.  When she is able to focus, she has an extremely agile mind, which makes learning for her easy.

While I would love to be the person who teaches her, just to be a better big brother for her, I cannot let my parents not have the enjoyment of teaching her.  I am still acting like a little kid around them, just to see the happiness of them.  Much as I never thought I would, I love them.  I think I have interacted with them more than I did with my past parents.


This was the hardest thing for me to admit to myself.  I loved my past parents, I truly did.  I think, in all honestly, it was more a type of love borne out of respect and conformity.  In this life, relationships are deeper than anything I experienced previously.  For the longest time, out of stubbornness, I could not accept my true feelings about my family.  Looking back at my thoughts, it hurts me that I could not see the reality in front of me.  This is MY family.

Rehor is reborn into a new world, and his ignorance of the lifestyle along with discovering his magic will make his life difficult.

For the past few days, Evelyn was quite busy in learning to read and write a new language. The language's equivalent to an alphabet is closer to English rather than Japanese. However, the pronunciation and wording of the language are, strangely, more so closer to Japanese than English. With two letters in combination, they would produce a sound and with multiple of those letters put together, it would eventually form words or sentences. Though foreign, Evelyn tried her hardest to try and learn it as quick as possible; though going at the pace that she was at, it may be a good month or two before she would be proficient enough to read without any problems. Dianne, the smart one of the group, had quickly given her a foundation into learning the language and then took off after she had felt Evelyn had caught on. At that point, Dianne felt that Evelyn only needed practice before she could finally read and write.

Evelyn was not alone in learning it though, all three of her creations also sat down with her and tried learning to read and write as well. Alice, which was predictable, fought fussily and refused to try and learn to read and write. In the end, Evelyn had forced her to learn at least the letters and she would learn the rest at a later date. Asahi and Tsukiko had no problem. They were easily making headway into understanding and memorizing the letters and sentence structure. Both of them learned just as fast, if not faster, as Evelyn did.

It was not until the third day since the three had arrived here that they came back to their home. They were able to somehow live out there and come back relatively unharmed; after all, excluding the two snow goblins, the rest of the monsters are relatively harmless. Their appearance still the same except their faces showing that they were haggard.

"Lady Evelyn, would it be alright if I ask you for a favor?"

Dianne, who Evelyn viewed more favorably, asks her a question. Confusion apparent through her expression; Evelyn wonders what they could ask for.

"That is, is there a way that you can help us resolve our transportation issue?"

"Transportation? What do you mean by transportation? Did you walk all the way over from the capital?"

If so, Evelyn thought it is a bit foolish and weird to walk all that way just to come to her dungeon; the distance between her supposed dungeon's location and the capital is no laughing matter.

"No, it is not that but I fear we will not be able to bring everything back," Dianne explains. "With the matter of your request, it is best if we could somehow increase our earnings when we go back."

The matter that Dianne is talking about was Evelyn's thirst for books and scriptures. With more written contents, Evelyn thought for sure that her reading and writing proficiency would increase. The only demerit is that books were costly. With no method to print out books, the people could only resort to handwriting every copy of a book. Likewise, since the technology to mass print is not available, making paper is also an expensive commodity. Even inside the Adventurer's Guild, they would use clay tablets to write requests and hang them onto the quest board for adventurers to receive. The demand for paper exceeds the availability of itself.

Evelyn thought it through and then brought out the system. Going straight into the shop section, she looks up the price of wagons. The affordable ones were in the price ranges of 10DP to 200DP. Different materials, the size, and also design of the wagons are reflected in their prices.

"Though I could provide another wagon, who is going to pull the wagon back?"

"Uh, we were also hoping if you could somehow provide them as well.

Dianne's face blushes and turns slightly red from their shameful request. The embarrassment from asking Evelyn these requests is too much for Dianne alone to bear. Even Leonard and Linda behind her could only awkwardly shift around and scratch their heads at Dianne asking on all of their behests.

"I understand," Evelyn sighs. "I will also provide you with what is needed to pull the wagon."

In the end, Evelyn spent a little over 200DP purchasing what they needed. One wagon and two workhorses. The wagon is of low-key design. Its appearance looks no different from what a normal wagon would look like. However, it is made from a more sturdier species of tree known as Ferric Oakwood. The wood processed from them contained the hardness and resilience of iron but flexibility of normal wood. It's purchasing price is 110DP. The two workhorses were reddish-brown, and the hair on their crests are long and ebony in color. The contour of their head and set of beautiful black eyes made them look quite noble in appearance.

"Are these Ember horses?"

Dianne speaks after seeing the whole spectacle of them appearing out of thin air right in front of them. All three of them could not believe what had just happened just a few moments ago. All of them are bedazzled and also puzzled how they came to be.

"That is correct. They are considered Ember horses."

"Amazing..." Dianne mutters. "We just got some top tier breeds of horses just to pull the wagon."

Dianne becomes even more amazed after Evelyn confirmed her question. Sturdy, hardy and also pretty powerful. Legends had depicted Ember horses being able to run three days and nights at top speed without even needing to rest. Of course, the legends were exaggerating their abilities by a lot. Nonetheless, they were still considered one of the favorite breeds of horses.

"Is that enough?"

"Y, Yes! It is quite enough!" Dianne stumbles out of her reverie. "Thank you for all the trouble Lady Evelyn."

"It is not a problem," Evelyn assures her. "If you have any other needs, tell me and I will see what I can do."

"Thank you!"

The three leads the horses away along with them pulling the wagon. Evelyn watches their figures disappear behind the snowy hills. Evelyn soon reenters her home, continuing learning to read and write.

Having died in his previous life, Evelyn finds himself in another world. He also finds out that he has transitioned from a boy to a girl.

A message and a gift from an unknown sender; he becomes a dungeon lord. Often detached from the realities around him, he readily accepts it.

Creating a dungeon for himself and only himself. Though solitude is what he often seeks, quite the opposite is what happens and what he really needs.

It was finally time to start cultivating the body. His wounds healed and the foundation was strong enough. The Dravas clan had a special set of exercises before real inner energy cultivation. Neo closed the doors of his room and started to practice this set. In a previous life, he had a body with a lot of impurities, so he was preparing for inner cultivation for a long time. This time, it will take a few hours at most.
First movement... Second movement...third movement... It was repeated in a loop for straight 3 hours already. He finally felt a trace of inner energy in his body.

"Three hours not bad! Hahaha. If Dravas clan saw this they would be extremely shocked!"

He was extremely happy because martial arts will allow him to protect himself. It will be possible to go and explore the forest of death when his strength grows.

The breathing technique allowed the user to produce the inner energy in the body. He mastered this to perfection in his previous life. The amount of inner energy will slowly grow until the moment, it will be enough to open meridians. Neo trained entire night and he felt amazing. The presence of inner energy was a wonderful feeling. His body still has physical needs like sleep and hunger but going a few days without sleep won't be a problem. The most important part that inner energy boosted was stamina and regeneration ability.

A few days later

Neo finally left his room and decided to visit the laboratory of Marcus. The place was like a few tornadoes had a party there for a few days. The appearance of Marcus wasn't better, hair standing straight like he was after thunder strike. 

(Mad scientist indeed. Good that I didn't give him any formulas for unstable substances, or he would kill us all. I need to reconsider the position of the laboratory in the future.)

"Marcus?!? I told you slowly ingest the knowledge and look at you! Go clean yourself and get some sleep!" He ordered him with domineering voice. It was obvious that without pressure this man would not go sleep until he collapses from exhaustion."

"Please, just a few more moments..." He was like a child begging to let him play little more.

"No. If I let you do this time, I don't know what will happen in the future." Neo needed to be strict parent or Marcus will eventually kill himself.

(I know that it won't help much...whatever...I can make him go to sleep with the contract. Let's have little hope into this mad moron.)

The paper mill was ready and the process of paper making started.

(In future I will make a more advanced version of this but for now, it's more than enough.)

During the last days, he prepared enough cleansing elixir for the entire mansion. The condition was that people will be contracted to one of his subordinates. If one of your minions contracted someone, contract worked on minions of minions. The hierarchy was important in any organization. He could take care of everything, his knowledge was needed everywhere.

(It would be easier if I could clone myself...)

All of his trusted subordinates had already a minimum second level of soul embryo. The process of contracting all people started. Some of the people turned out to be spies. Fortunately, they didn't leak much, most of the important secrets were still safe. 

They were executed as an example that there is no place for betrayals in this mansion.

(It would be impossible to contract every person. It's an only temporary solution. Maybe in the future, I won't need to enslave them with contract everyone to be sure that they won't betray me.)

Neo imparted necessary exercises for the body and flexibility to the Sam. He will learn them and later he will teach the new recruits. 

(I could teach them one of my Earth's languages, and we could use it as a secret code. More safety measures are good. The improved learning capability will, let them learn an easier language with no time.)

Meditation technique didn't only strengthen the soul. It improved the learning capability and comprehension of martial arts. The better subordinates meant easier and faster recreating the technology.

Another problem was creating glass. It required high temperature to melt sand into glass, thus normal stone wasn't a good tool for that kind of job. There are two necessary items, a stove that could resist very high temperature and something that would create this temperature. 

(I think this craftsman family could be useful. Most of the craftsman professions respect each other. I will leave glassmaking for a moment.)

A month later.

The paper mill made the second batch of paper. It wasn't white like modern paper but it was still cheaper and better than skin parchments. Neo was almost ready to open meridians. In his previous life, he relied on luck and natural potential. This time he couldn't risk that much. Meridians were like other organs and acumpture with help of inner energy could resolve the problem of opening them.

He needed to prepare, the meridians opening weren't that big, so he needed the special needles. The needles of this kind of precision were hard to made by current blacksmiths. It will take two weeks to make these special needles. 

(I could help them improve their methods...however, it's risky and won't help me in my plans.)

Someday, he will have his own blacksmiths, and they will learn modern world methods. These people are not ready to advance technology yet.

The first batch of beggars is trained by Neo and Sam. Most of them are not talented in martial arts but it doesn't matter. Neo decided to write some books about the economy, math, and other basic fields. The orphanage was an investment in the future, and he cannot be stingy with these people. These people will become the foundation for the civilization.

(Writing so many books will be a hassle. Maybe I should create the printing press?)

"For now, I will write the one of every book and order someone to copy that. I don't have an exact design in my head and it will take time to recreate it." 

He began to write elementary books. It will important to educate his subordinates. The knowledge will push their minds into new inventions. There was even possibility of some of them to create technology without Neo helping them. 

(Writing on a computer is a few times faster! It's annoying but I need to write these books, none has this knowledge to do it for me!)

I resent the fate for giving me no potential in martial arts.
I resent martial world for not letting me live peacefully after I left the martial world.
I resent ordinary people for not letting me finish my work.
In this life, I don't want to be in your skin when you mess with me.

Dear Diary,

Today I finally saved enough money to buy a pad of paper from the local market. I've worked really hard to buy ink and paper, so I'm actually really glad that I can finally write to you.

I never really took to writing, when I was younger, but there's not much else to do in my current state. I would never have believed it, if it hadn't happened to me, but there is actually something such as reincarnation in this world. That's right, I'm a reincarnator!

Before being reborn in this world, which I've learned is called Aethera, I was just another face in the crowd. I lived in a country that cared not for its people, and only pursued wealth with reckless abandon.

Sure, the water was clean and the food tasted amazing, but you could only live a life of luxury if you could afford it. Those who cannot? Well...

It's been about eight years since I came to this world, and I miss the easier days of the past, but this world has things that mine didn't. I would never have been able to learn how to use magic in the other world!

It's taken me a while, but I can use two different magics already. One is called Spark, which is a lightning based magic, and the other is called Ember.

Normally only the wealthy can afford to learn magics, as the nobility monopolize power in this world. I even hear tell of each of the big cities having private academies that nurture young geniuses in all kinds of magic!

Of course, I who struggled just to buy some paper and ink would never be able to afford admission into such prestigious institutions. It would be a miracle if I could!

So how did I learn my magics? It's my luck that I ran into a kind bookstore owner who says I can read the books in the store if I can help him with a few chores every day.

Cleaning the shelves, and lifting a few boxes, for the chance to learn more about this world and its wonders? Bargain!

The way people write, in this world, seem to resemble the Asian countries of my world. They use an alphabet composed of characters. There are so many! It hasn't been easy learning how to read and write, but I can't help wanting to push myself to learn more about magic and this world.

I really want to tell you about these two magics that I've learned, Spark and Ember. It starts with the use of this source of power, or energy, in our bodies called Mana. "Using a combination of Mana and internal imaging, one can invoke magic spells of all kinds" is what the bookstore owner, Old Man Chambers, told me.

Spark is a lightning based elemental magic. To use it, I have to store quite a bit of my Mana into the tip of my finger. Once I have enough Mana stored up, I then have to focus on an image of electricity making a jump from one thing to another. If I do it right, then electricity actually jumps from my finger to shock my target!

It's so cool!

Ember is a little bit different, but also an elemental magic. This magic is fire based, and requires less focus than Spark, but uses more Mana. The way this magic is invoked is by focusing all your stored Mana into an imaginary spray can, then releasing the Mana with the image of fire coming out of the spray can.

It sounds weird, but that's how I do it!

The books I've read, so far, regarding magic and the use of Mana are actually quite difficult to understand. Well, the magics themselves seem to be easy... I just can't read the characters well yet!

I showed Old Man Chambers my magics, the other day, and he seemed quite impressed with me. Learning magic at the tender age of eight isn't impossible, but it seems that a user's Mana capacity is normally too small to use magic until they are around thirteen years old. Only those who are fed elixirs and other growth pills from a young age would be able to invoke magics any younger than that.

"You sure are amazing."

The first words of praise I've received since coming to this world. Just thinking back on it makes me want to smile.

Talking about smiling, I was so happy I could watch a few of the royal knights and magicians display their prowess the other week.

I live in a small port town called Murky Waters Village. It's a township that has grown under the support of the Lanthral Kingdom. Most of the people who live here are dock workers, sailors or tradesmen.

Every few years, depending on whether or not the kingdom is at war with the neighbours, the royal military will send their knights and magicians all over to show the people their might.

Knights are specialists who use weapons, such as swords, bows and spears, to fend off enemies. They are the typical frontline against the demon beasts that ravage the land wherever they go. Magicians are holders of great power, using not only elemental based attack and defensive maneuvers, but can also specialize in less conventional magics such as Illusions.

Watching the royal magicians use their magic was fascinating and exhilarating! One of them used a fire based elemental magic that created a wall of fire spanning across a few metres. They called it a Fire Wall. Another magician used an ice based elemental magic that beautifully danced around the stage. They called it Ice Spikes.

In comparison, my Spark and Ember are just beginner level magics... But I'm resolved to learning more and more about this world, Mana, and the use of magic!

It's getting late, so I'll stop writing now. I still have to wake up early to help out at the docks. I hope I can be like those strong knights and magicians one day, too!

Bringing paper-making technology to this world was an idea Sui Xiong had long ago.
The spreading of culture was very slow. One of the crucial reasons was that there was a lack of cultural carrier: paper. Here, the books were compiled into booklets with papers made with various beast skins, hence the incredibly high cost. A blank booklet for about 30 pages would at least cost six gold coins in the wholesale store, while the retail price normally cost eight to ten gold coins.
Why aren't there many mages in this world? Some of the people laid the blame on the commoners' brain power, emphasised that only people who were highly intelligent could become a mage. Actually the problem wasn't that, but the money.
A mage would at least need to learn the common language, ancient elven language, dragon language, dwarven runes, heavenly language, Abyss language, hell language, mystery language and the other "common languages." A true mage that was proficient in languages, normally knew even more different languages. For example Void Mask Church's mage group leader, Satan, was a mage that had just gotten into the higher order in the recent two years. He knew 33 languages in total, and was learning more languages then. For instance, that year, taught himself the language of a mutated species, Heart Eater Soul Monster. The species was basically non-existent in the main dimension but it was distributed across countless worlds that were floating in Void. They were good at using attacks on their prey that caused heartache, hence the name "heart eater."
According to his way of saying things, his plan was to master above a hundred languages.
A mage not only had to learn languages but also know the more headache-inducing study, culture. Astrology, geography, customs and practices, biology, history… forget it. Listing them out one by one seems as though I am trying to fulfil the word count. All in all, the reason why mages had high expenditures was mainly because of "learning."
And principal part of the learning expenditure was the purchase of books.
Books wouldn't fall from the sky but required to be bought using one's own money. Or maybe one could buy an empty booklet and copy by hand. An experienced mage normally had a few racks of books, or even a library. What were these? These were all money!
Why did Mifata Fedaration have more mages? Because they had a systematic nurturing standard, and youngsters that intended to go down the path of magic could spend less money to borrow books which helped to cut down the expenses by a lot.
Not only that, but in the process of learning magic, "copying scrolls" and "copying magic books" were inevitable. Defeat was a common sight too. With a failure, one would lose at least a beast paper, or one might lose the entire book straightaway. Encountering 80 to 100 counts of failure wasn't a huge number. The poor Palin wanted to learn an intermediate magic "ice storm," and wasted almost 200 scrolls, plus booklets, ink, and therapeutic medicine... These few years, he basically spent all his salary in the stationary shop.
Even if they didn't take the expense of a mage into consideration, merely language learning and calculation, which was pretty much a basic requirement to shake off the nickname of illiterate, would need at least 30 to 50 books. If he were to learn law or performing arts, there should be an extra zero behind the existing figure. Plus history... Sigh, it would be best not to calculate so much.
In this world where a poor commoner's family might not even make a gold coin, the education expenses were enormous and hard to afford.
If there were paper making technology, with a large amount of cheap papers and books, the culture in this world might be able to spread more widely.
Like the saying went, "knowledge will change one's fate." If cultural knowledge were to be common among the poor, maybe their fates would be improved.
Sui Xiong didn't know if his speculations were accurate but he felt he could give it a try.
So he built himself a laboratory by the river near the sea in the Ashes Woods, and tried to research and develop paper making technology.
"Let me recall how does paper making works..." Sui Xiong said at the pile of wood that had just been chopped. He hung his head low as he thought, "I learned it in history class. It said that Cai Lum produced broken fishnet and chopped wood into paper paste, then spread it flat on a cloth to dry, and it became paper. It seems quite easy..."
He waved his tentacles and the big tree next to him flew up and was crushed by an invisible force. After some squeaking noises, it quickly shattered into a ball of shredded wood.
Then, Sui Xiong got some river water to mix with the shredded wood. He then boiled it with magic.
Because the river water and wood that were polluted by negativity, they gave off thick clouds of black smoke during the boiling process. The black smoke wasn't the chemical gas commonly seen in the paper making factories on Earth, but the negativity that was dispersed. Any commoner would die if they were to get in contact with it. Looking at the danger aspect, this was more terrifying.
After boiling for a long time, that ball of unknown mixture had turned into thick murky fluid and the negativity in it had fully dispersed. Sui Xiong tried to take some and used magic to spread it on the linen that he prepared earlier. Then, he oven-dried it using magic.
After a while, it was fully dried. Sui Xiong took it down from the linen and gotten a piece of thick paper in a blackish green colour. It was hard and coarse, and didn't look like it could be used for writing.
"This doesn't look quite right," he mumbled to himself. "If Cai Lun made this back then, the emperor was kind enough to not beat him to death. How could he even leave a good name in history?"
He pondered and took out some again from the mixture that would likely be paper waste, and spread it on the linen. But, he purposely spread it thinner. then he realised that there were many small pieces, and he couldn't spread it nicely.
"It's not fine enough!" He suddenly understood, so he used magic to shred the ball of paper waste again. This time, he strengthened the pounding power. Even steel could turn into powder, not to speak of wood.
Hence, the paper waste was spread thinly and evenly. After it oven-dried, he had gotten a flat piece of paper.
Greyish blue in colour, a little crumpled; it looked like soft paper that could be used to wipe one's ass.
"This is toilet paper... I want to make writing paper!"
He pondered again, wondering it went wrong.
Firstly, he had to remove the color because he needed white paper.
How to remove the colour? Filtration?
He tried to filter it, and there was murky water that was greyish green. But the color on the paper paste obviously didn't change.
Well, filtration didn't work; how about washing?
He made some purifying water with magic, used a ball of paper paste for experimentation and washed it a couple of times. The color of the paper waste was slightly lighter. If he were to lower his standards, he might be able to use it for writing. But, the prerequisite of it was that, it needed to written on with a writing brush.
This world was popular for the feather brush, which was to used with beast feathers and dipped into ink to write. The type of brush obviously couldn't be used to write on soft but coarse surfaces; at least not on this kind of paper that Sui Xiong had invented.
"If so… Do I have to invent ink and writing brush?"
He pondered and decided to improvise the paper-making technology once again.
It was like the saying, "It is when you are using what you have learned from books that you wish you had read more books." By that time, his reserved knowledge had been used up, he didn't know how to further purify the paper paste to whiten it more.
After thinking for half a day, he decided to develop a magic spell that was used to purify the paper paste.
The character of the magic was to absorb the coloring in the paper paste; it was not very high tech. Sui Xiong only used a few hours to design it and spent another few hours to experiment and improvise. He finally invented the very first magic spell in this world that he could spread and leave him a good reputation in the history.
Sui Xiong's paper-paste purifying spell, beginner magic. The spell was made of an incantation and runes and the material required to cast the magic spell was only a small block of charcoal. Using the magic could help to extract the coloring in the paper paste and turn into stringy colour colloid, while the originally variegation paper paste turned white.
After completing the magic, Sui Xiong had finally gotten the white paper paste that he wanted. Using this paper paste as raw material, he had gotten white paper.
But, it was still the soft crumpled paper, not like anything that could be written on with a feather brush.
The more troublesome part was that the paper was not beneficial for packaging and preserving. He could be tell by the looks, it was definitely not anything sturdy and durable.
Sui Xiong thought carefully and wanted to press the paper flat.
It was smoother, but not smooth enough.
He thought again, tried to put more paper paste onto the linen, pressed it flat, and oven-dried it.
He finally got a piece of smooth white paper.
Of course, compared to the white paper on earth, it was vastly different. But Sui Xiong had already tried his best and couldn't figure any other way to improve it.
He tried it with feather brush and ink. As expected, he realized ink would smudge on the piece of paper and it couldn't be used for delicate small writings.
"Alright, the next is the writing brush."
Theoretically, it should be quite easy. He just needed to pick beast hairs that had suitable length and tied it together. Then, stuff them into the bamboo tube and tie it tightly.
"Not difficult at all!"
Within a short period of time, Sui Xiong made possibly the very first writing brush in the world.
But, its efficiency in absorbing ink was bad. After absorbing ink, it was inconsistent when it was used for writing. The performance of the writing brush pissed people off.
The brush was obviously a failure.
Sui Xiong thought and pondered, Was it because of the oil content on the hair?
To remove the oil content, it required washing with soap. This wouldn't be difficult as someone had already invented a soap bar in the world long ago, although its quality was not as good as the ones on Earth and the pricing was on a higher side.
After washing, the beast hair was better. Although it wasn't as smooth and natural when used, it could at least be used for writing.
Then, it's done. The rest of the problem, the users can overcome themselves!
Sui Xiong then focused his attention on the ink again.
In the world, the price of ink was very expensive; a small bottle that was about fifty grams would cost over 20 gold coins. For feather brushes that required lesser ink, it was alright. But a writing brush was an ink sucker. If it was used as such, he reckoned the poor would not be able to afford it.
Hence, Sui Xiong started to research and make ink.
He failed miserably but found an alternative.
Mixing water with a small amount of glue, blended with ashes, could be used for writing. Although the writing effect wasn't as good, it could at least be used.
The biggest problem about this solution was that every time when someone wanted to use it, they have to make mix the ink on the go, which was inconvenient. But inconvenience would still be better than nothing, wouldn't it?
Sui Xiong had the intention to make an ink block like the one that was used by his ancestors for many years. He tried to combine glue and ashes into blocks but in the end, he realised that the ink block could only be cut and crushed for usage.
Mm, this will do too...
After a few days, during the meeting of higher ups in Void Mask Church, Sui Xiong showed off his invention proudly.
"Look!" He told everyone. "This thing is going to change the world!"

I just started learning how to explain my words and I want the story to flow.

If anyone is asking why I never wrote a message or chapter I we'll explain why. 

Remember when I said I live alone and I got hurt then sick. Well at that time I had to skip my class to recover at home but by the time I recovered I had so much work and my deadline was coming up soon, so I studied alone working like a mad man I passed my classes so me and other people get along holiday but because of all that work (big as 2 dictionary books) 

My reason because I was far behind from classes I missed when I was younger so I had to do other classes at the same time but by the time I finished I felt exhausted mentally and physically so on my spare time I was just relaxing my mind and body I have recovered but I was worried what to write so i thought of an idea why don't I just make a new light novel for practice and to write to my hearts content without worrying, but my other thought (but what do I write?) then it hit me I remember a story I was making when I was even younger 
(was on paper) I could write about that, thus that's how I came to a new novel I write and writing as I go on now. 

(Sigh) I'm sorry if you don't believe me but that's the truth. I'm explaining while trying to keep the story short about why the writer (me) and what's happening with my new idea for future updates.
