The three lights of the triangle merged to become a swirling grey color. When you looked at the symbol from one side, the grey color shifted to black, and if you looked from the other side, the grey turned white.
The triangle seemed to pulse with that mystic grey. The color stained Han Meng'er's power grey, as well.
Han Sen could sense a frightening presence radiating from the power, and it seemed as if all that energy was going to explode.
Han Meng'er held the Bible comfortably in one hand, as if she hadn't noticed any of the power surging around her. Her other hand flicked through the Bible's pages. From what Han Sen could see, there were many images and sections of text within. It was like he was watching a 3D movie flicker past on the pages.
Although Han Sen couldn't open the book himself, he had no trouble seeing the book's content now that someone else had opened it.
The images were so impressive that they made Han Sen feel like he was watching a supernova. The universe began; the universe was destroyed. Life was started; life was ended.
"Born from the Destroyed. Live for the Destroyed. Survival is the Destroyed." Han Sen examined the first line of the Destroyed Bible.
The Destroyed Bible was a deified treasure, a holy book of the Destroyed race. It recorded the practices of their alpha's geno arts, his experiences, and the understandings he had come to throughout his entire lifetime.
As Han Sen read the Destroyed Bible, it was like he could hear the Destroyed Alpha explaining geno arts. He could see the true meaning of it all.
Han Sen was delighted. Destroyed geno arts required the user to possess all three powers, but Han Sen did not have chaos power. Because of this, he lacked the ability to cast Destroyed powers.
But the Destroyed Alpha's explanations clarified a whole host of things and filled Han Sen with inspiration. He was able to understand Break Six Skies much more deeply because of it.
The Destroyed were a part of the Breakskies, and they even claimed to be the royalty of that ancient race. No matter what the case might have been, the geno arts the Destroyed alpha left behind had a connection with Break Six Skies.
The things Han Sen had learned from the Destroyed geno arts gave him a vat of additional knowledge that he could apply to Break Six Skies.
Han Sen had been stuck in the first tier of Break Six Skies. Now he was able to understand more. Proficiency with the geno art allowed access to the second tier. And as he learned more, he would be able to keep climbing.
Break Six Skies was not a technique that could be practiced to gain greater strength. It forced a student to teach themselves to utilize their powers more effectively. However, progressing with the art required a lot of understanding and knowledge.
As he studied Break Six Skies, Han Sen sometimes felt like an ancient swordsman trying to understand how bombs were made.
The geno art required understanding rather than raw strength. If a student understood how the geno art's powers worked, then they could control the power and unleash its full potential. And that was more than enough.
Whether the practitioner was a Baron or a deified elite, they could still access all tiers of Break Six Skies. The level of power output would be the only difference between the skill being used by someone weak and someone strong; the techniques themselves would remain unchanged.
Low level Nobles did not really understand that power, though. It was difficult for them to make use of Break Six Skies.
Han Sen was still in the beginning phases of learning these techniques. Or at least, he had been. By reading the Destroyed Bible, he was able to understand more about how its power worked. Break Six Skies improved greatly in a short amount of time.
By merely watching as Han Meng'er flipped through the Destroyed Bible, Han Sen's Break Six Skies was able to progress and reach the third tier.
As the content of the Destroyed Bible was revealed, the grey power seeped into Han Meng'er's body. She stared at the Destroyed Bible with an unreadable expression. The Destroyed Bible began to morph in her hands. Not long after, the Destroyed Bible had transformed into a grey arrow. The grey Destroyed power sank into her hands and subsided.
If Han Sen hadn't actually watched it happen, he never would have believed that the stone arrow she now possessed was actually the Destroyed Bible. He couldn't detect even a trace of Destroyed power radiating from it.
Han Meng'er lifted the Destroyed Bible and looked at Han Sen. "Father, thank you very much for this arrow."
"Oh, I'm glad you like it," Han Sen stumbled. Luckily, Han Meng'er was rather naive, so she didn't notice his awkwardness over the whole affair.
Han Sen was on the third tier of Break Six Skies, and as he realized that, he quickly tried to recall everything he had seen from the Destroyed Bible. If he had any more breakthroughs, that would be the greatest reward.
Aside from Super Spank, Break Six Skies was the strongest geno art Han Sen had in his arsenal. When he wasn't using his Dollar identity, Break Six Skies was effective enough as a killing power to be depended on.
It was a shame that Break Six Skies was so powerful, though. If he used it in close-quarter combat, there was every chance he could blow himself up.
It was fortunate that Spell provided him with three different weapons. Their range meant that they were the perfect tools to pair with Break Six Skies.
"Meng'er, stay with me for a little while. I have a geno art I would like to teach you." If Han Sen could teach her Break Six Skies, then she could have those destructive powers as well.
Although many problems could not be solved through violence, they still needed to be able to unleash violence and overwhelm any force that happened to be aimed at them.
So, Han Sen spent some time teaching his daughter. When he was done, he went to Cold Palace to accept the benefits of being the Guardian. Jadeskin leveled up quickly. It would definitely reach Duke in two years.
It was difficult to level up any geno art from Marquise to Duke. Even if there was an abundance of resources available, it would still take a while. Higher races could usually become Dukes within the space of ten years. If a race was of poor quality, though, they could end up taking an entire century.
Han Sen was only progressing so quickly because he could absorb the deified toad's force of ice. Such an opportunity was extremely rare.
Han Sen wasn't too worried about his Jadeskin, but he was concerned about how things would go with The Story of Genes. There were no special resources for him to consume, so all he could do was slowly practice it by himself. And despite his efforts, he couldn't feel The Story of Genes improving.
Han Sen paid attention to what happened after the Destroyed Bible incident. And just as he thought, the searching races eventually found those shapeshifting foxes and confirmed that the Destroyed Bible had been taken by one of the Extreme King. After learning that, no one dared to continue the investigation. Even the Destroyed weren't brave enough to ask the Extreme King for the Bible.
Han Sen thought there might be some trouble, but the entire matter just came to an end. It was as if the Destroyed came to terms with the loss of their deified artifact, and that was that.
"It looks like I underestimated the effect the Extreme King have on people. They don't even dare bark." Han Sen rolled his eyes.
It looked like that unlucky Extreme King woman had become the perfect scapegoat for the affair. But Han Sen knew he had to be extra careful to avoid giving the Extreme King any hint that Han Sen was actually Dollar.

The disciples brought out tables, chairs, tea, and snacks. They even stood beside Ming Shu with fans in their hands.
Everyone was puzzled. They didn't know what Ming Shu wanted to do.
Ming Shu positioned herself like a big boss and said softly, "Don't you all want the Five Treasures Bible?"
The words "Five Treasures Bible" were like drugs. A great many people looked at her with greediness in their expressions.
Ming Shu took out the crumpled Five Treasures Bible and threw it on the table. "Let's learn it together today."

Someone fell off their chair in fright.
What kind of development is this?
"If we want to be strong, everyone must be strong together. If not, it will not be fair." Ming Shu said seriously, "Good things are meant to be shared. Don't you all agree?"
Yes… your head!
If everyone knows it, it will not be precious anymore.
"If everyone is ready, I will start reading it now." Ming Shu flipped the book open and started reading it word for word. Her voice was clear like a school teacher's.

Ming Shu looked at the person and smiled. "If you don't want to learn, you can get out."
"Who knows if you are reading the right things?" The person didn't get out. Instead, he moved forward. "You killed so many people from the Half Moon Villa. Do you want to kill us too? Don't be fooled by her. She must be scheming something."
After the person finished speaking, a few people immediately stood up and agreed.
"How can the devil be so kind. She must have something up her sleeve."
"Be careful, everyone, don't be fooled by her."
"Drag these people out," Ming Shu ordered the disciples.
"Okay, Leader."
The disciples went down obediently and caught those people. Everyone started attacking and someone even moved toward Ming Shu to snatch the Five Treasures Bible. Others also tried to save their Alliance Master.
Ming Shu was a step faster than them. She held the Alliance Master as a hostage and said, "I think that it will be better if all of you stop moving. Of course, if you all don't care about your leader, please continue."
The Alliance Master wanted to cry.
Ming Shu smiled. Everyone felt as though they were looking at a daughter from a rich and well-mannered family instead of a devil.
No one could disregard their Alliance Master. They needed to maintain their reputations. Hence, these people retreated unwillingly.
"Amitabha, Miss Mu, what is it that you want to know?" The monk stepped out again. He had a clear mind.
Ming Shu pushed the Alliance Master back and sat on the table. She pressed her hand against the Five Treasures Bible and smiled. She tilted her head. "How did Mu Changfeng die twenty years ago?"
The people below became quiet.
After a long time, the monk closed his eyes and said, "Amitabha."
"That year…"
The monk was going to say something but suddenly, his expression changed. He fell onto the floor. Everyone else fell too.
Although they were lying on the floor, they were still conscious.
"Devil, how dare you poison us."
Ming Shu stuffed the snacks into her mouth and said casually, "It is not me. Don't push all the blame onto me."
"Who else can it be then? Is it possible that we poisoned ourselves? Only you are fine!"
"My disciples have fallen too." Ming Shu looked at the disciples and pointed at them with her chin.
The crowd looked over and realized that it was the truth. Her disciples had also fallen to the ground and were crying for help.
"Why are you all right?"
"I am powerful." Ming Shu kept the Five Treasures Bible close. "I did ask you all to learn the Five Treasures Bible techniques, but you all don't want to. Is it my fault?"

After waiting for a long time, Ming Shu still didn't do anything to them. It seemed that she wasn't the one who did it.
Ming Shu didn't know who the third party was, but she knew one thing: They had something to do with the death of Mu Changfeng.
Five Treasures Bible was what the other party wanted. Hence, when she read out the contents of the bible just now, she angered them and made them act.
Sometimes, you do not need to solve a puzzle step by step.
You could do it all in one single step.
Ming Shu was not in a hurry. She calmly drank her tea and ate her snacks.
Finally, the person in the dark couldn't stand it. A few people appeared out of the blue. They surrounded everyone.
Feng Bei was in front of these newcomers. Ming Shu narrowed her eyes and looked at the person behind him.
The person was very tall, almost as tall as Feng Bei. The person was wearing a scarf and Ming Shu could not see the face behind it. Only the eyes could be seen. They were sharp and vicious.
However, it was clear that this was a woman.
Anyone could see that Feng Bei was captured. However, whether it was real or not…
Ming Shu rubbed her wrist. She looked at the people that couldn't move and smiled. "The culprit of the Half Moon Villa is here. Why are you all not shouting your catchphrases?"
Everyone: "…" We don't understand what you're saying.
They looked toward the woman. They didn't recognize her.
The woman's vicious gaze landed on Ming Shu. She didn't deny what Ming Shu said. After a while, she said in a strange tone, "I didn't expect Mu Changfeng to have a daughter like you."
The things that happened today were out of her expectation. She didn't want to reveal herself so early, but she was afraid Mu Ling might really teach these people the Five Treasures Bible.
Ming Shu smiled. "Am I so clever that I scared you?"
"You are as shameless as Mu Changfeng."
"Being shameless is much better than being shady like you."
The woman's eyes turned cold. A malicious intent surrounded her. She shouted furiously, "What do you know?!"
"I don't know anything, so I need you to give me answers." Ming Shu swung her legs. "If not, why did I force you to reveal yourself? To have tea with you?"
The woman sneered. "Give me the Five Treasures Bible!"
"Why should I give it to you?"
The woman turned back and grabbed Feng Bei's neck. "If you don't give it to me, I will kill him."
Feng Bei looked at Ming Shu and actually felt nervous.
"Kill him then." Ming Shu was not the least worried. She even smiled. "Kill him and I will destroy the Five Treasures Bible. He wants it anyway so I will give it to him as a tribute."
The woman was surprised. "Do you not care about him?"
Ming Shu tilted her head. Her voice was clear. "I'll use the Five Treasures Bible to pay tribute to him, how is this not caring about him?"
Feng Bei: "…" He didn't think that this was a sign of care and concern.
The woman suddenly laughed. "Hahahaha, you are indeed as cold-blooded as Mu Changfeng. Everyone that has the surname 'Mu' is a bad person."

Underneath the mine…
After learning Jiang Chen's plan, Gao Huoling was neither happy nor sad. There was only resolution in her pretty eyes.
It wasn't a good plan, but it was the only plausible one in their current circumstances.
In addition, she was surprised to see that Jiang Chen was able to use the crystals of fire dragon for practicing purposes.
When she learned about the restrictions, she felt proud of the phoenix blood in her body.
"By the way, why didn't you use the bible when you were fighting Green Ghost?" Gao Huoling asked out of curiosity.
"Bible?" Jiang Chen acted like it was the first time he had heard about this.
"Gosh, you don't know? I thought maybe you didn't want to expose your identity. So what's the level of your phoenix blood?"
"Fire phoenix," Jiang Chen told her truthfully.
"Me, too. It's enough just to exert the bible. I assume the family didn't expect you to achieve fire phoenix in such a short time, which was the reason they didn't give you the bible."
Gao Huoling's eyes were shining with excitement.
"And with the aid of the practice formation here, maybe you'll be able to defeat Lin Jingyu soon!"
Jiang Chen didn't understand what she was talking about. He said confusedly, "I've already taken advantage of the benefits the fire dragon has brought me. Thanks to that, my fighting power has been greatly enhanced. Will the bible help me improve further?"

Jiang Chen stepped back. He noticed she looked as if she was wearing a coat of fire. However, there was only radiance, but no flame.
She was like an enlightened monk, bathing in Buddha's light.
After the surprise, Jiang Chen realized one amazing thing about it: Gao Huoling's body temperature was high enough to melt steel. A strong energy surged in her.
"My fighting power doubled. It'll be even better for you."
That was why she was so excited. She said, "As long as you master the bible, Lin Jingyu will know how great the Gaos are."
"Will it be restricted by the fight doctrine?"
Jiang Chen intended to do it, but his fight doctrine level wasn't high enough to take in so much energy.
"No, it won't. The fight doctrine helps to exert power, but you gain your power from practicing, and this deals with the force provided by our blood," said Gao Huoling.

Lin Jingyu gave Mo Jianfei a hint. The latter flew into the air. "Jiang Chen is a traitor of the Hero Palace. He joined the disciples of the Evil Cloud Palace. They killed many innocent people and endangered even more. He's hiding underground from Apprentice Brother Lin Jingyu," said Mo Jianfei.
All the teams went into uproar.
There was more than one exit. Different spiritual spells had been directed to different locations. It had been designed this way to prevent hostile forces from killing each other at the end.
As a result, all the teams there were on the Hero Palace's side. They all held grudges against the Evil Cloud Palace. What Mo Jianfei had said rendered them emotional.
"Aren't you afraid Jiang Chen will dig a tunnel and run away?" someone said curiously.
"It's impossible. Apprentice Brother Lin Jingyu's psychic bird is searching down there. They're still underground," said Mo Jianfei.
"That isn't the point."
Someone who had come forward from the crowd said in a low voice, "Why did you say Jiang Chen ganged up on you with the disciples of the Evil Cloud Palace? Do you have any proof?"
"Wushuang?"
Seeing the pretty woman before him, Mo Jianfei was in a complicated position. He felt more irritated seeing her protecting Jiang Chen.
"You're on Jiang Chen's team, so of course you won't believe it. But likewise, I suspect the Holy Sword Society is also related to it!" said Mo Jianfei.
"Huh, what do you mean?" said Ying Wushuang in anger.
"Holy Sword Society, stay here quietly before we leave, otherwise—" said Mo Jianfei.
"Otherwise what? Just because I questioned you, you're going to deal with us? You're the only one who decides what's right and what's wrong?" Ying Wushuang interrupted him toughly.
"You!"
"The current disciples of the Hero Palace are getting worse and worse. Jiang Chen stooped so low, and those with him still refuse to own up to it."

"You're strong, so you can claim black is white?" Han Siming asked, not showing any inferiority.
"Exactly. Jiang Chen worked with us and was chased by Green Ghost. How could he be a member of the Evil Cloud Palace?" Cheng Qing said.
"You're all related to Jiang Chen. You haven't proved your own innocence yet. Shut up."
Lin Jingyu looked down on these people. He had no desire to argue with them.
"So, Apprentice Brother Lin Jingyu, if I pose any question, will I be regarded as a member of the Evil Cloud Palace as well?"
To his surprise, a beautiful voice sounded. Lin Jingyu was embarrassed immediately. The crowd also exploded, because the person who had spoken was Yin Shuang!

She is still feeling the stinging pain and takes a deep breath. She removes the glows rom her hands and throws in ground.

'Try to recall some spells Maya... You have been using the book since childhood? You should remember something?!'.

Her mind subconsciously asks 'You were keeping the book since childhood. Were you actually using it?'.

She sits folding her legs in a meditating posture and concentrates deeply.

'I CURSE YOU TO FORGET WHATEVER YOU HAVE LEARNT! Even though you learnt how to read and write, you won't be able to use the knowledge in future! You can't get help from written words in your whole life! I curse you for lying your Master!'.

She opens her eyes in shock!

She gulps hearing the words echoed in her ears and gasps "I shouldn't have lied ...".

She opens her mouth to console herself but closes sulking 'Now I feel what Karnan would have felt.. The lie costed everything I learnt..'

Maya sits slumping her shoulders down. She winces holding her left hand and screams "What should I do?!".

She frowns "In the story Karnan fought with bunch of curses and also crusaded  for his rights throughout his life. Can't I survive with a couple of them?".

Emperor Philips smiles hearing the announcement and looks at his wife entering the chamber with Holy Bible in her hands.

Every night she would read Bible for the Emperor. It was their regular routine to keep their hopes high at this point.

Whenever you feel everything is out of your control, let the universe decide for you. Name the universe as whatever you wish for. God or some extraordinary power which drives the universe.

Mary sits beside his bed keeping the Bible  and holds his hand "How are you feeling after the new medicine Majesty?".

Philips squeezes her hand and smiles warily "Bitter. I would be served better in hell".

Mary just stares him silently.

Philips looks at his wife in complete adoration. Since his wife Claudia left him, Mary has been taking care of his degrading health.

He asks "Why are you silent My Lady?".

Mary asks "Have you thought of the future? Scarlet and Anthony's mischiefs are increasing since you fell ill. I am hearing many news which is creating chaos in the nation and I am very dissatisfied with Majesty for being so selfish".

"Did Majesty hear the rumours? People are talking that Crown Prince is behind this incident in The Countryside Pavilion! Majesty... It's unjust.. How can you not think of all these problems? How can you be selfish about thinking of leaving?"

She adds worriedly "Today Scarlett has chased her new teacher! Anthony is completely spoiled and made his Masters to kneel before him! His self-conceited behaviour is getting more hard to control! Now Crown Prince and Xav is not here.. Only Majesty can take control over these hardships!".

Whether it's reading hopeful Bible for him or sharing him the stories of his children's mischiefs!. She doesn't leave a single chance to fill his heart with hopes.

Philips is lost in thoughts. Mary sighs tiredly and starts reading Bible for his husband. It's good for him to think.

Philips smiles faintly getting out from his oceans of thoughts and says "I find our daughter-in-law quite amusing".

Mary closes the Bible and asks with a smile "Would you like to share the happiness with me?".

She is astonished to see his smile thinking about a stranger. Even though the stranger was his friend's daughter, Mary never thought he would admire a commoner!.

'Who would find a commoner amusing?!'.

Philips hands her the message that he received from Maya "Read this".

Mary opens the cloth and frowns "From a servant?".

Philips speaks "Read the content!".

Mary reads the message seriously. She opens her eyes wide while reading the final lines and gasps.

'The nerve of that girl!'

Philips smirks "I could predict her miserable future with Xander!".

I open my eyes, look at the clock to see it is half past five, the usual time I does get up to prayer and read my bible. I climb of my single bed and prayer, thanking God that I am safe, that have graduated from University of Cambridge, for my roommates who are always by myside. I also prayer that todays interview would be a success that I can be from from this Institution. I also prayer that Doctor Fin would be safe. 
I climb back on my bed and then read my bible, I then take out the crumped piece of paper that Doctor Fin had given me five years and three months ago at St. Michael's public hospital. 
"I will make a place to keep you safe and for us to always be together, for you are Mine and I will love you. J"
I sit on the bed and grab the latest novel I had been reading. I would peek at my five roommates as they would shift in their beds. First I look at Jessica Simmons, she is twenty eight years, formerly from the United States of America. She looks normal to everyone, with her blonde and slender body but she is a fighter outside the institution but a saint inside the institution. Then below her is Maria Fernandez, twenty six, formerly Mexician, a computer genius that looks like a nerd with black hair and glasses. 
Next to there bed is Anita Rosia Phillip, twenty five, formerly Russian, very good with equipments mostly guns but inside the institution a doll that loves to model, with her rust brown hair. Below her is Brenda Franco, formerly French, has red hair and sexy, she designs within the institution regular clothes but she designs weapons outside the insitution. 
Within the institution we are shy, quiet, book nerds, and obeident to everything the doctors and matrons tell us to do. At school we attend our classes and "co curricular" activities, also gym. At the university we are not allowed outside the compound but we was never limited to what we can do inside the compound. The insitute believed I worked as a librarian while the others are in class. Yes, I was in the library but in the underground learning to protect myself and design things. Each of the four taught me things over the past five years, as well as we teach each other. I teach them how to blend in because that was what I grow up doing back in the orphanage and how to survive woth little ot nothing. 
Last year, we were informed that a recent organization was formed and they has paid of our expenses at the Institution and in return they wants to hire us to work for them but we have to go to an interview and pass it. Today is our interview and we cannot mess it up. I trust the four roommates but still not enough to fully tell them about my past or even about the things that may live outside there. I have learned a lot of things to protect myself because Doctor Fin words that humans are not the only things that live out there has made me aware that there are other creatures and Jun was one of them since he bit me. 
I don't know if I ever see Jun again, if I would kill him or even want to be with him. I know how he made me feel and I remember after he bit me how he took care of me. He treated me special like I really mean the world to him. He also felt guilty for biting me and I saw it on his face. It took me years to remember the gap between but still I can't remember them all other than knowing the feeling of Jun being with me and how he tried to protect me. His body was pierced through the chest because he was protecting me, I don't know if he is still alive but I will avenge those who try to kill him. 
A knock he heard by the door and everyone sits up on the bed. The door unlocks from the outside and in walks the matron, a doctor and three nurse. As usual, this is the sign for us to get ready. As protocol, we have to straigthen our beds under the watchful eyes of the matron, doctor and nurses. I get off the bed, takes my bible and place it on the bedside table, with the novel. I then straigthens thr bed, folds the coverlet and place it on the bed. 
"Nurse Drew, Ms. Simmons, Nurse Gail, Ms. Philips, Nurse Fist, Ms. Fernandez, I will take Ms. Franco and Matron Hulk, Ms. Xui." Doctor Jackson says. 
The nurse followed by her patient walks out until I being last follow Matron Hulk out the door until a bathroom. I enter with the matron walking after me, she stands and watch me brush my teeth and shower. She then passes me a towel to dry my skin. I am then given proper undergarments, followed by a navy blue pants suit, followed by a black two inch wedge heel. We exit the bathroom, where I am then guided to the doctor's office where Doctor Hernandez is sitting, she first takes my pressure, sugar, and then she injects me. I am sent out to go for breakfast but instead I am shown another room, in this room there is a hair styles that dries my wet hair, she then combs it into a waterfall braid. 
I am then sent for breakfast where the others are already at. We are all wearing wedge heels, and pants suit but of different colours. Jessica is black, Brenda is cream, Maria is brown and Anita with an off black. For breakfast we are given something simple which are toast, peanut butter and jelly sandwich and orange juice. After breakfast we are led to the reception area where we wait for the head matron to breif us. 
When the head matron comes into the reception area, she hands each of us a portfolio file. "Best of luck on your interviews, if you all past your interviews, the organisation may provide accommodation for you. If you don't pass then you would have to return here and wait until another interview is available."
We are then led outside where a limosine picks us up and takes us out of the city and towards the country side. However, where we are driven is blocked with high security which can only mean that this organization is very secretive and well developed. Once we enter the gate locks, on either side of the road consist of hotels, until we stop at a building that has about five times the size as well as height of one of the hotel. I look to see that it is to the center of all this city.

She is fairy but has grown up among human beings due to being an orphan and are deemed to be weak until she finds her mate which she never knew about.

He is a hybrid, his mother was werewolf while his father was a vampire. He is the next alpha king and suppose to marry the woman his family choose for him until he find his mate in the most unexpected place ever.

Both has evolved to something unexpected one through medication and the other from extreme punishment. 

Life has change for both of them and they are both looking for something.

Chapter 5
The sweet taste of hypocrisy
 
Texas was a fine place to eliminate morons from the human experience. But first, a final test to see if he was correct about his powers. 
Nom was driving a stolen car. He needed to get off the road and get some sleep, before he was forced to test his powers against the might of the Texas Highway Patrol. He saw the glowing sign of the Grand Hyatt ahead. It was next to a municipal airport. 
How perfect. He thought. I'll dump the stolen car in the long-term parking lot, get a rental, and then check in for some sleep. Who knows? Perhaps I will find an ideal lab rat along the way.
Nom pulled into the parking lot and rented a luggage carrousel. Loading his gear, he left the lot ticket in the stolen car, and walked into the airport. Conveniently, a trash can by the door accepted the keys to Tripp's father's car. 
Thanks to the Patriot Act, Nom knew that he wouldn't have a choice but to register the rental in his own name—a convincing fake ID would take too much time. The woman at the counter for Enterprise Rental quickly had him on the road in a late model Ford Fusion. Since Nom was from another state, it was easy to claim he had just flown in for the week. Why, if the feds checked out his little fib, they would see that he did have cousins in the area. The flight bit could be seen as an oversight by an airport worker.

 

Nom knew he would need to do a number of experiments to get even a basic idea as to the scope of his powers. He could kill, but could he simply maim? Could he reverse one of his wishes, or alter it? Was there a range limit to his gift? His efforts to study that last one with Tripp had not exactly been precise. Could he eliminate multiple people at one time, or could he only effect one? Was there a limit on how gruesome a death he could inflict, or on how slow of a death?
The irony was that the power of death made Nom feel alive for the first time in years. Probably since around the time that he had lost his faith and become an atheist. The old saying, ignorance is bliss, is only true if you are ignorant of your ignorance. 
Nom had once been ignorant of the fact that there was no god. In his upbringing, Nom had been taught that the King James version of the Bible, and it alone, was the answer. Whether it be the pocket copy he carried, or the study Bible on his night stand, that book was literally the user manual to the universe, written by the coder who had engineered everything, and who was actively in control to that very moment. 
Any answer he needed was simply a Strong's Concordance search, or a browse through the Spurgeon or Scofield Commentary away. What need was there to know anything, or even think for himself, when it was all just a few pages away?
Christianity was easy: simply blindly believe. Reject the information reality fed you, and obey regardless of the consequences. After all, the afterlife was the real life. Atheism was hard, the consequences were real, and the answers had to be won rather than simply given. Faith was easy, just be a good little robot, and do what the bronze age myth told you to do. Knowledge and reality had to be studied and interpreted through reason. It was back breaking never ending work. 
Nom put in a reasonable start and effort at being a good atheist. He obsessively self-educated himself. After getting two undergrad degrees, a masters, and studying for a second one, he admitted to himself that he was miserable. 
What was the point? What could he possibly accomplish, regardless of his credentials? Nom's great dream was to start a national movement to finally crush religion through its greatest weakness, children. Nom wanted a law, one that made it so that no child could ever be brain washed into a cult as he had been. True freedom was not freedom of religion, but freedom from religion. All children would be legally entitled to a public, secular education, regardless of their parents' wishes. No child would even be exposed to religion until they were an adult and could legally consent. In Nom's mind, religious educators were worse than pedophiles. They did not only defiled the bodies of children, but they destroyed young growing minds.
It was a task that Nom threw himself into. For a while it seemed that the American people were ready to potentially embrace a change of this magnitude. The Affordable Care Act was passed, the first black President of the United States was elected, and for the first time in US history almost a quarter of the population identified as non-religious. In those moments, it actually looked as if the modern political dark ages of the US, started by Ronald Reagan and Richard Nixon, were at an end. Nom took a minor civil service job to support himself while he completed his education. He would need government experience before he could found the non-for profit he dreamed of using to spearhead his vision.
Then the walls came tumbling down. For years the most ill-educated and moronic fools that the GOP could muster rallied the forces of the TEA Party. Behind the scenes, using their demented senior citizen activists, they managed to take over most of the municipal level governments in the US and use that power base to take over state level and national governments. 
Their average budget proposal called for a slash to social welfare programs for the neediest of Americans. Why should the US Government feed the people it impoverished? Mass incarceration, slashed regulation, gutted unions, an unlivable minimum wage—if this caused poverty who cared? After all, that same money could be spent on a wall. One that would remove twelve percent of the economy by deporting innocent people. Even better, it could be spent on new military toys, like aircraft carriers. The US already spent more than all of its allies and enemies combined, what was a bit more waste? Then they could take the rest, and give subsidies to corporate profits through tax cuts. 
Funnily enough, many of the Republican voters were themselves beneficiaries of the very programs they elected Republicans to eliminate. When newly elected Republicans tried to do exactly that, suddenly, their voters were in the media spotlight protesting. 
If the American populace could manage to vote in the most regressive regime since Herbert Hoover, what hope did Nom have of achieving his wish in even ten lifetimes? He could have gone to his grave a happy man knowing he had simply started the ball rolling on protecting minors from religion, but to work already knowing that the bet was a loser? Who could do that?
One of the turning points in his evangelical faith had been when he had discovered that having the faith of a mustard seed did not mean that he could literally levitate mountains. Most modern Christians would claim that Bible verses were metaphorical, but Nom had been raised to literally interpret the Bible. It was a soul crushing revelation that God was not a genie, with the Bible as his lamp. The election of 2016 crushed his faith in saving mankind just as thoroughly.
In many ways Nom had been slowly coming to the conclusion that the only way to save humanity was to cleanse it. The world was overpopulated, polluted, and corrupt. Morons bred like rabbits. The natural forces that had restrained the human population since it began had been curbed thanks to modern technology. In the US, Nom's native country, a cult had long existed that worshiped the common man. That same cult cursed learning and intelligence. The folk wisdom of a plumber about economics was somehow more valuable than someone with an actual degree in the subject.
What the US needed was an apocalypse. Nom was sure if the rest of the Western World would benefit from the same. The same trends that had destroyed the US were now appearing in Europe. The UK had voted to succeed from the EU, racist and anti-immigrant parties were on the rise in central Europe in a wave not seen since the 1930's, and regressive conservative parties were winning election after election. It was building to the same crescendo America had seen only a few short years before.
The woods around Nom's childhood home in northern Michigan were occasionally set on fire by the DNR. The native bird, Kirtland warblers, were only capable of breeding in the aftermath. Not that they needed ash and desolation; they needed a specific species of pine tree. Those trees were short-lived, and had a problem: their pine cones had a coating that had to be burned off before they released their seeds. No fire, no trees. No trees, no birds. 
Nom was convinced that the same must be true for humanity. He was not sure if he needed to burn down the whole forest, or just a grove, but humanity needed to lose a lot of stupid people so that its best and brightest could flourish without all the dead wood. 
Taking his rental car to the Grand Hyatt Nom checked in and decided to start experimenting…

Death, a Biography, is a fictional horror novel. It is crass, violent, profane, and not meant for the light hearted reader. Imagine living in a world surrounded by fools. For years your frustration grows, and no matter what you try to do you cannot free yourself from the preverbal ideocracy. Nom DePlume is just such a man, only one day he is granted the dearest wish of his heart. Nom, a grad student working as a truck driver is: intelligent, well educated, and the sort of person who always can find a reason to have a chip on his shoulder. One day while driving in Texas he finds that he has the ability to wish death on those he hates. Being scientifically minded, Nom proceeds to experiment searching out the scopes of his new found powers. He begins in Texas, a state he despises. As he moves on from each experiment, he picks his prey to match some facet of modern western life that he hates. Each receive a fate customized to match what Nom feels they did wrong. Nom then travels home to Michigan after initially defining his new role in life. In Michigan he uses his powers to settle a few old scores and family business. A run-in with an old friend convinces him that he is being selfish for not using his god like powers to better mold humanity. The end of the book sees him taking on the leader of the free world. Nom now personifying Death, learns that he has a true foe, Life.Nom will return.

"First I learned from Asia about God, most of them worship God in the same shape as humans, then I was enlightened with the novel I read, in the past humans had less intelligence than modern humans, they were more easily provoked, and also fooled, when the power speaking, they are only submissive, then the person in power slowly feels superiority, and there the mind develops, the person in power calls himself God ".

Grace sighed and shook his head. If his husband had been converted into Eagle's charm, there was no use fighting.
"How do you propose that we do that, Pastor? Are there any specific methods that you want us to do?"
"The Aragarians are planning to gather the Jews and return them once more to their homeland. Just as how King Cyrus acted when he defeated Nebuchadnezzar. Israel will return once more to their home… However, the Aragarians would probably be threatened that if other nations offer their aid to help the Jews. What if, Pangea offers their support to the Jews once more?"
"How?"
"Simple. Create a possible business relationship with this newly established country. Most countries won't give their support to Israel. And if history has proven any right, the neighboring countries might once more find excuses to attack Israel. The Aragarian's might act behind the scene and cause these countries to make them outraged at the Jews, but at the same time, the Aragarian's will use their connections to protect the Jews. Chris and Grace nodded.
"Right. Protect them until all the Jews are gathered and then with one full sweep, abandon their protection resulting in the massacre of the Jews."

"Exactly. So what better way to stop this than for a country to step up on the early phases of the Aragarian's plan."
"I see. Then there would be two different places for the Jews to run to."
"Exactly. If New Great Britain comes on board with this, or perhaps even China, then the Aragarians will have a problem. What would they do?"
"Manipulate the countries to attack us…" Grace answered immediately.
"Right. These countries will then be attacked through the manipulation of the Aragarians. Who knows what they will do? I imagine some of them would be blatantly obvious and insulting to the intellectual, but the nation will still attack."
"And that's when they do the counter-attack?"
Yes. The sad truth is; the entire world cannot all believe in the gospel. Some just don't have the capacity to believe. And so, we have to orchestrate events such as this and even the events that we will soon create to make Christianity the one religion."
"Then what steps should we be doing right now?"
"I've already given my advice. I'm sure that Seeker or that boy Arthur already knows of this. But they sent you here to get something else from me… And that's my knowledge of the Bible."
"Why can't they know about the Bible themselves?" Chris asked.
"I mean… Seeker knows the future and probably could guess the general direction you led the world too… Also, Lennox and Arthur should have been smart enough to know this."

"They are uncertain because they have not grasped the Bible in its entirety."
"My guess is, on Seeker's future, I led the world using a different theological view. The most possible scenario is that I believed that a certain theology that I do not believe in would be the best view to take. Either because of the events that would shortly follow or perhaps, and more disturbingly, because my faith may have been shaken at the extermination of the Jews. But right now, Seeker is asking what to do since the Jews are alive."
"What about Arthur? Could he not analyze this with his father?"
"The spiritual answer is no. Because the Word of God is to be spiritually discerned. But the humanistic answer is that those two are being humble. They don't want to waste time studying theology. Do you really think that Christianity is simple? Far from it! It is complex, mysterious and divisive. Since the death of Christ, various forms of Christianity had appeared. Some from a wrong interpretation over Scripture, some from the abandonment of Scripture and some from overemphasizing other parts of Scripture. Because of that, there are probably hundreds of theological views to study in order to perfectly plot out the future." Eagle explained.
"So why should they exert effort in that when they can ask you?" Chris asked.
"Correct. That is their reasoning. But sadly, I must leave you without any solid answers for now. I will not dictate the steps that they must take. Instead, I have an order to them. Not a suggestion. An order or demand if you will. I have to meet with all the Overcomers, potential Ranked Heroes and any other person of interest."
"Meet them how? We can't bring them here. With so many around the world creating an online transmission is risky."
"I have to meet them personally. And that will be Seeker and Arthur's little assignment as they make their wars. They have to plan the war in such a way that it can bring all of these people in one area." Eagle explained.
"But why?" Wouldn't it be better to tell us now?"
"If I say it now, I believe that it will cause more harm than good."
"You want to convince the Overcomers and the leaders?" Chris understood the hidden meaning of Eagle's plan.
"Yes." Eagle smiled and did not even hide his plan.
"But of course, don't accuse me of trying to shove in the Gospel. I admit, it is my intention, however, if Seeker wants this world to be united in this religion, he must heed my words. I need the Overcomer's to believe. And so, I won't be getting into the details of what they should do, but find a way to gather all the Overcomers and important leaders to one place."
"That's basically impossible to do immediately. Then this is what you meant by Seeker to delay his plans of war. You want them to use war as a means to gather everyone together."
"Yes. I know that Seeker intends to forcefully take over a particular country and create a ripple effect by attacking the WGP. If a nation challenges and does significant damage to the WGP, other nations might participate. He wants the WGP out to acquire the technology it has. That is to say, Seeker intended to create a Continental War here in the Americas or in the Western extremes of Europe or Africa. That plans not good as we have to present ourselves as the righteous group."
"So our team should focus on what exact actions?"
"One, make these nations a bastion of Christian faith. They have to take over the leadership and make religion something important once more. Two, show support to the Jews. Ideally, they have to create support for them and while the Aragarians are gathering them, you have to convince other nations to act antagonistically against the Jews."
"How do we do that?" Chris pondered.
"I think we'll have to let Arthur and Lennox decide that. We can use a lot of tools, Hon. Economics, geography, politics, the Underworld…"
"I see." Chris nodded.
"You also will need to aid me in building churches all over the world. Once all of these are in place, and when we have churches planted all over the world, you have to change how the world views Christians. You should create political, religious and even ethnic groups that will persecute and attack Christians. This will be harder to deal with. Unlike the former reason, it's easy to create one reason as the Jews will have a geographical place. But Christians are all over the world. You'd have to be creative in doing this."
Grace frowned this time.
"I don't understand, Pastor. Why is that?"
"For vengeance of course. If we are to simulate the End of Times, then we should do it in all of its accuracies. If we are to come as people and powers that will judge this world, then they have to do something that deserves judging. This generation should know and should see, why they are going to face such calamities. The blood of Christians and Jews must taint their hands so that when we initiate our plan and reveal great desolations, they will feel guilty."
"But Pastor. That means that the churches and communities we will be creating… and even ministers from your church will die."
"Of course. That is what's necessary."
Grace couldn't help but shudder.
"Pastor, this is madness. I don't think I can see you as a Pastor anymore. You want us… and by effect, you are asking me… to build communities, gather groups of people, who will share in the faith that I have believed in… and all of this, is so that they will be slaughtered?"
"Yes." Eagle could not hide his smile. It was as innocent as his other smiles. But both Chris and Grace could sense a powerful and almost murderous desire rising.
"I thought you were supposed to send your ministers in these countries! What about your mission to spread God's Word?" Grace couldn't help but reject Eagle's plan. Chris sat down silently and waited for the Pastor to give his answer.
"That has and will always be my concern. Even before the defeat of the Aragarians, my concern is for the World to know of God. But how has He made Himself known? Through the fulfillment of His prophesies that His word may be true and everything false! Do you not understand? Death and persecution must happen within the Church. People of great faith and trust in the Lord, must all die! It is a requirement for the days to come."
"What days to come?"
"In prophetic language, there is one specific sermon that Jesus spoke of. That will be the time from now until we gather every one of your leaders for a Bible Study. Seeker must follow the events in that prophecy which is a preamble to the real stuff that's about to happen."
"The Olivet Discourse!" Grace realized what Eagle was talking about. She had been in church since her younger years and even when she was working for the Force of America, her mother and father would often remind her to at least, listen to some online sermons and would even send her some links.
"What's the Olivet Discourse?" Chris asked.
"It's a talk that Jesus had in private with His Disciples. It's in three of the four gospels. Matthew, Mark, and Luke record this discussion. It's called the Olivet Discourse because Jesus spoke to his disciples in the Mount of Olives. And in all three accounts, Jesus told them of the things to come. What Eagle is saying… is that Seeker must fulfill the first part of that prophecy." Grace no longer called the Pastor according to his religious title, but directly called out his last name.
Eagle did not even react negatively at this call but simply smiled.
"Correct. That is the plan. The Olivet Discourse talks about the signs of the coming end of the world. Wars, rumors of wars, earthquakes, famine, and pestilence. These events have to happen in succession and must come quickly. And here lies the difficulty of this challenge. Seeker has to start wars and end them quickly."
"Earthquakes, famine, and pestilence too? If we are to do that, it would involve the use of weapons of mass destruction…" Chris continued to analyze.
"Chirs! You're actually ok with this?" Grace was stunned that Chris had no problem with this.
"Of course not. But honestly Hon, what choice do we have? There is very little that we can use to convince the world to side with us. The Aragarians can offer bribes of a good life of richness, peace, technology and so on can make the world our enemies. What can we offer to the world that they can't offer? We can't offer them richness, peace, good life and whatever… The road that Eagle is suggesting has been the road that Zeek had planned all along. He cannot offer these things. So instead of offering it, he'll promise the opposite."
"Death and destruction?!" Grace cried.
"Yes. But also a hope of an eternal after-life. And religion is really the key here. We can't counter-offer what they will soon be giving. But if we paint them out to be the devil and show how their promises are fake and that real promises await them… then we have a shot. Pastor Eagle is saying that we go by-the-book in this. We follow the Bible's path of prophecy down to the dot and do so in an extremely clear way. People who see it and believe will be our allies.' Chris explained with a sigh.
"I'm guessing that Pastor intends to send people for their deaths because it's also part of Scripture?"
"Yes."
"But Pastor…If that is the case and you know these churches will be attacked… why won't you make plans to save them?"
Eagle turned to Chris and seemed to be thinking of something.
"Hmm…Should I tell you? I guess this is a good thing that your leaders will have to note off…" Eagle pondered.
"It's like this… Now, this is something most preachers won't ever talk about. It's my own personal view of Grace and Wrath. Every generation has to have martyrs. For the Word of the Lord in Luke 11:49-50 must be fulfilled! 'Therefore also the Wisdom of God said, I will send them prophets and apostles, some of whom they will kill and persecute, so that the blood of all the prophets, shed from the foundation of the world, maybe charged against this generation.'"
"You will… allow them to be killed so that the nations that killed them will be judged?" Chris confirmed.
"It is not what I will, but this has been the way since the beginning. Mercy has always been reciprocated by anger and the death of those who God sent, and that is why they will receive judgement. Now that I know war is inevitable, then the deaths of the church and the saints of God will be used as fuel for the coming burning wrath."
"The death toll of this war will be in the millions!" Grace shouted.
"And millions more will have the chance to repent when they see the destruction reaching their lands. As I said, I want people to turn to the Lord! And war, suffering, pain, and death have always been the best tools to usher in repentance! So let the war come! The prophecies of Jesus in the Olivet Discourse is nigh at hand!"
Chris shook his head and stood up calling his wife.
"Let's go." Chris smiled.
"We're just leaving like that?!" Grace argued.
"Honey… Our mission is complete. You have nothing much more to say… Right, pastor."
Eagle nodded.
"We have our mission, Hon. And our orders are our top priorities. If you like, talk to Zeek directly. It won't be Pastor Eagle fulfilling all of these after all." Chris smiled and gave Grace a light tug as he started to walk out.
Grace could only walk in defeat but she left an angry glare at Eagle.
"Looks like Grace hates you." Eagle's wife gave a light chuckle.
Eagle simply shrugged his shoulders.
"She still thinks I've mind-controlled her husband after all… She'll come around. Ironic. And I thought I'd have more opposition from the atheist. But instead, I got it from someone who grew up listening and learning the Bible."
Eagle laughed.
"As it has always been." Eagle's wife smiled.
"Right…"

Back in Pangea, a frustrated Harker was adjusting for Seeker's crazy plans the next day.
"An RPG to school? What is he trying to pull?!" Harker cursed.
DING!
An encrypted call was being received on his computer.
This was the encrypted message from the Americas. Since the message was important, only a single device inside the military base could decrypt and receive the call.
"Yes?" Harker answered promptly.
"Tell Zeek that he has to delay his plans. We also should prepare the coming war so that we can have a group bible study somewhere with the Pastor." Chris ended the call.
"War for a Bible study?! What's wrong with these damned Carleans?!" Harker cursed once more.


An alien race invaded the Earth on June 6, 2128. At the midst of this war, many nations allied with the alien threat and the war nearly wiped out the rebelling humans of the planet. At the edge of mankind's survival, the United Nations Army launched its forces to eliminate the immediate stellar threats that loomed over Earth.

General Seeker Carlean, commander and leader of the mission, risked and gave his life to destroy the immediate stellar threat. The battle was won though Earth lay in ruins. Perhaps mankind will live to see a few years of peace before the alien threat returns to wipe out their existence.

At the immediate aftermath of the stellar battle, the fallen Seeker Carlean awakens and finds himself at aged 17, living the peaceful life he lived 16 years before he died.

So begins a new game in the battle for humanity's survival.

Dayo walked back into the control room smiling. For
him, learning something new was good, but learning it
from a very beautiful and intelligent lady was
extraordinary. He stared more at her face than the
computer screen when she was explaining. Her gentle
and soft way of speaking made an impact in his heart, he
watched as her sexy lips moved while she explained to
him and Sylvester.
'Kimberly E. Alexander,' he murmured to himself as he
proceeded to the seat he previously occupied.
He was too lost in his thoughts to notice the gazes that
were on him. Henry and the other developer had fixed
their eyes on him as he entered noisily and began to
bounce to his seat like someone who has just won the
star prize of the Young C.c's Readers' contest. It was until
he sat in front of the computer and looked up that he
met with Henry's gaze.
Henry gave a chuckle. 'What's up with you?'
'Nothing sir,' Dayo answered, surprised seeing the look
on his colleagues faces.
'How can you say nothing?' Henry's friend, Frank
retorted. 'You walked out over an hour ago and returned
smiling like someone who just finished riding a hot
chick.'
Dayo smiled at the nastiness of Frank. 'I was coming
from Mr Sylvester's office'
'Mr Sylvester's office?' They both asked in unison. Henry
faced front and continued with his work.
'Yes,' he replied and tried to face the computer set.
'Hmm…' Frank cleared his throat and gave Henry a
mischievous look. 'Hope it's not what I'm thinking?' He
muttered to Henry. His voice was loud enough for Dayo
to hear.
'What's that you're thinking?' Dayo raised his head to ask.
'Nothing really,' he said and burst into laughter. 'It's just
that I've not seen anyone come out of that place smiling
or laughing. You're the first I've seen, so I'm wondering if
the man has become a comedian overnight.'
'It wasn't Mr Sylvester that got me smiling. I met his new
staff,' Dayo began. 'She's intelligent and beautiful. She's
the one behind his prolongation of the monitoring time'
'Oh! I see.' Frank took a quick glance at Dayo as if to look
at his face for a confirmation of his words. He turned
back quietly to his work.
'Is she really that good?' Henry asked, turning back again
as he seemed to develop more interest.
'Yes, she is crazily good.' Dayo widened his eyes to
emphasize his point.
'Did you see her work on the system?'
'Yes, she showed I and Mr Sylvester what she did on the
system yesterday. That's why I was there for so long.'
Dayo replied with an excited voice.
'Okay, maybe I'll have to see her for myself.' Henry said
and quickly punched some keys on the computer
keyboard. 'Is she's still in Mr Sylvester's office?'
'I left her there.'
Everyone's attention suddenly turned to the door as it
opened. Sylvester popped in his head, his eyes searching
the place. His gaze met with Henry's. He entered and
closed the door.
'Good morning Mr Henry and Mr Frank,' he greeted with
a kind smile.
'Good morning sir,' they both replied at the same time.
'Mr Henry,' Sylvester called as he got to Henry's front.
The smile on his face was replaced with a serious look.
'Agent Dakolo just called,' he said almost in whispers, his
voice bearing a warning tone.
Henry frowned, 'what did he say?'
'He's coming here, to see you'
'When and about what?' Henry asked. Fear gripped his
heart at the thought of facing Agent Dakolo again. Maybe
the man was finally coming to arrest him for lying about
the Jubril's job, but there was no way the Agent was
going to know if he was lying or not except if Sylvester
had told him. He shivered at the thought of Agent Dakolo
questioning him again, maybe inviting him for a lie
detection test this time around. Was he going to get
caught for defending Omotara, who was probably
somewhere trying to play another fraud on someone
else. The fear of being caught and labeled as dishonest
and a person who harbors criminals terrorized his heart.
He began to consider if it was really worth it to take the
risk hoping that Omotara had changed for a better
person or to give up and confess to the Agent with an
apology. He was sure that with an explanation, the Agent
who was also like a brother to him could help and cover
him up.
'I don't have that detail, he's coming to see you
personally and he'll be here in fifteen minutes.' Sylvester
replied.
'Okay, thank you sir.'

Jefa returned from the market sweating heavily. Of
course that was expected due to the stress experienced
in the busy local markets on the market days that comes
up in an interval of five days.
A tricycle had brought him and his goods from the
market. He first stopped at his store to drop the goods
meant for business which was eighty percent of what he
bought. Now he had come home with foodstuffs and
other things he bought for home use.
He sank into the weak sofa tiredly and let out a deep
breath. Everywhere was silent, except for the sounds of
the fan blades which were just accelerating. Jefa closed
his eyes to rest a little but soon sank into a deep sleep.

The day was bright and sunny. The sidin singing heard
from every corner of the street was enough to announce
to an alien that it was Sunday and churches were having
their morning services.
Jefa was seated in the passengers side of the white Range
Rover, Omotara was driving. They both looked happy,
dressed in matching white native attires. Jefa was moving
slowly to the sound of the worship song being played,
Omotara was miming along.
They got into the church compound and Omotara
followed the directions of the Traffic Marshals and
stopped where they instructed her to. She switched off
the AC and killed the car engine. In few seconds, both of
them stepped out of the car. It was Thanksgiving Sunday,
they could hear the Thanksgiving hymn being led by the
choir and sang by the large congregation. Omotara held
with her her tablet device which contained a Bible and
writing applications while Jefa preferred to go with a
paper Bible, a pen and a notepad.
The ushers welcomed them warmly and handed them
the Thanksgiving leaflet before directing them to the
available seats. They got comfortable seats close to the
centre of auditorium and dropped their Bibles and
gadgets on the chair while they joined the congregation
to complete the hymn being sang.
Few minutes later, they were seated and other segments
of the service began. Several Thanksgiving verses were
read from the Bible and different categories of people
are called out to dance round the church and give their
Thanksgiving offerings. Omotara and Jefa stood up and
joined the group when the coordinator called out those
who surrendered their lives to Christ in that year. They
had their Thanksgiving envelopes in their hands as they
danced to the front of the altar with the other people in
their category.
The dancing paused when they got to the front of the
pulpit and very few people with outstanding testimonies
were called out to share with the rest of the
congregation. They dropped their offerings and began to
dance back to their seats, Jefa noticed that Omotara was
distracted. She had seen something and slowed her
dance steps. She was flashing her teeth happily at
someone. Jefa glanced at the choir stand and saw Henry
seated in front of the keyboard, flashing his teeth back at
them happily. He took a hand off the keyboard and
waved at them. Omotara and Jefa waved back and faced
front.
Just before they passed the front row, they saw another
familiar face seated on the second row. He was a
government official who had once done them evil, he
was shaking his legs to the beat of the song being played.
Omotara smiled on seeing him but Jefa was indifferent.
Reason being that Omotara had forgiven him and other
offenders since she repented but Jefa was still trying to
completely forgive them. He silently prayed and
confessed words of love under his breath.
The government official looked up and met with their
gazes. His smile diminished, in fact, he was visibly shaken.
Omotara and Jefa ignored him and kept dancing back to
their seats.
The church service ended two hours later and some
church members began to depart to their homes
immediately while most began to greet themselves and
break into groups. Omotara politely excused herself
from Jefa and made her way to the choir stand to meet
Henry. She met him about standing up from the
keyboard. There were three people arranging chairs in
front of him, they were those who wanted to learn how
to play the keyboard.
'Hi,' Henry greeted with a smile on seeing her. He excused
himself from the learners and proceeded towards
Omotara.
'Hello,' Omotara replied his greetings, with a smile too.
'I was just planning to come and greet you and your
brother before you leave.' Henry gestured for them to
walk to the back.
'No, don't bother.' She refused politely. 'Don't keep your
students waiting, I'll extend your greetings to my brother'
'Hehe' Henry chuckled. He was staring at something
behind her. She glanced back to see.
Jefa was walking towards them, making funny faces. She
gave way as he moved closer and had a handshake with
Henry.
'Good morning sir,' Henry bowed in respect.
'Good morning Henry,' Jefa replied. He placed his hands
behind him and took glances at the faces of both of
them. The way he was looking at them made Henry bow
his head in shyness. 'When are you guys getting married?'
He threw a surprising question.
Omotara stared at her brother with her mouth agape.
'Married? Who told you we are planning to get married?'
She asked.
'I don't need an Angel to tell me that, I can perceive it in
my spirit.' Jefa replied with a smile. He turned to Henry
whose face was still bowed. 'You're the man, talk to me.'
He said and gave Henry a playful jab on his arm.
'Brother, come on leave him and let's go.' Omotara said
playfully and grabbed her brother's arm. 'You bring a
wife to the altar first, then you can now talk about me.'
She held Jefa's hand and turned to look at Henry's face.
'We'll be leaving now, I'll call you when we get home'
'Let me see you…' Henry tried to offer.
'No need,' Tarasha cut in. 'Go back to your students.' She
gestured with her eyebrows for him to look back. He
glanced back to meet the eyes of his waiting students all
fixed on him.
'Alright then, we'll talk later.' He said and waved them
bye. Jefa offered him another handshake before turning
back to leave.
Henry stood on the same spot and watched them walk
out of the auditorium holding hands together. The smile
on his face was that of a proud man. He was proud he
had being able to help the two of them become better
persons. Now they looked happier than they used to be.
In ten minutes time, Omotara was already driving out of
the church compound with her brother. The plan was to
visit the nearest Mr Biggs outlet and take a meal there
since they couldn't wait to eat before coming to church
in the morning.
They spotted the closest one and stopped by to take the
meal. In another thirty five minutes, they were on their
way home. It was after fifteen minutes of driving that
Omotara began to notice a black Lexus 2031 model Jeep
following them from behind. She kept mute and said
nothing to her brother, wanting to verify first in order
not to make a false alarm to the unsuspecting man.
'Where's this you're going?' He asked when she took a
route which doesn't lead to their home. She didn't reply
him, but he could see that her eyes were fixed on the side
mirror. He looked back to check what it was. 'Are they
following us?'
'Definitely, they are.' She replied.
'What? Who could that be and why…' He paused while
counting the number of men in the Jeep, two men were
seated in front while one was at the back. 'Three of them,
why are they following us?' He asked no one in particular,
he was sure that Omotara was quite as confused as he
was.
The roads was in that estate was not too busy with cars
that day as it was Sunday. So there was no car
obstructing the Jeep from them. Omotara increased the
speed of their car. The trailers increased theirs too.
Soon, they began to hear gunshots from behind.
Omotara did all she could to hasten their escape but it
was futile. The two tyres at the back of the car were
deflated wth bullets by the men. Omotara's driving skills
helped her bring their car to a stop, else it would have
resulted to an accident, but maybe an accident would
have been better.
The Jeep caught up with them and two men came out.
One of them remained in the car, it was the same
government official they had seen in the church.
The two scary looking men came out with their guns in
their hands. They pulled Jefa and Omotara out of the car.
The government official soon came to join his boys.
Other motorists and pedestrians on the road has turned
back and fled on seeing what was happening.
'Kill the man and bring me the girl.' He commanded in an
evil tone and turned back to the Jeep.
One of the men cocked his gun and pointed it straight at
Jefa's forehead. Jefa could hear Omotara screaming and
begging for pity as the bullet was released.

This story is about a Lady Assassin who was
trained in Russia, specially skilled in the art and
carrying out the job with no fears, restraints or
apologies.
She became so powerful and was greatly feared
by several of her male counterparts, including
some of the masters who trained her. She hated
so many things, God was number one on her
hatred list.
She came down to Nigeria and was still involved
in her profession until she met someone who
was willing to help her start a new life.
But people from the past came into her life
