Book 1 of my Destiny fanfic, Traveler’s Chosen. Book 1 centers around the events of the Red War campaign, with POV mainly on my Guardian, Echo-4.

A 10 year old sets out for a journey through the Kanto region, winning gym battles along the way with a goal to win the Indigo League.

The setup for this story is - a 10 year old boy, Red, who lives in Pallet Town becomes a Pokemon Trainer and heads out for his journey across the Kanto Region. He collects gym badges by winning the gym battles to qualify for the Pokemon League.

Meanwhile, Giovanni, the head of the criminal organisation Team Rocket, has big plans that could change the world.

Red, a girl with twin-braided orangish-blonde hair, is asking around to find members for her club; wondering "Why aren't their more people around here, It's less than usual",
She saw a boy in the liabrary.
 She speaks to the boy reading a book "Hey, Jack would you like to join the book club?",(Jack) "Sorry, I can't, I'm already in a club", (Red) "Oh.. Ok, sorry for bothering you", as she walked away.
she kept looking for someone to join her club.
[2 weeks ago]
Red was reading a book in her clubroom, until someone knocked, she opened the door, there she saw a girl and member of the Student Council. 
The S.C Girl gave her a notice, "Hey, um... yeah if a club doesn't have atleast 6 members the club would be shut down and-", Red was shocked but still asked "Oh... umm.. how much time do I still have till then?", 
S.C Girl responded "You have until next month to find members for this club, Oh!.. I also remembered that all clubs are required to do something that benefits the school like labor or something, If you have other questions just ask away, I'll just be in the Student Council room....Ok, Bye."
(Red) "6 members?, since their's already 2 of us in this club, and it's only been the first week of the whole semester. I think we'll manage."
[end of flash back]
Red kept seaching for members, asking everyone around, but they all rejected her offer to join her club. She then went to the school's garden but no one was there.
She sat near the fountain and just stared at the flowers, almost losing hope "What should I do?.... what should I do?",
but slaps herself and turned to the fountain
She inhaled and shouted to the fountain, "No!!, I am not giving up!!!" by doing that she somehow felt relieved, "Well it's time to go" she stood up and once she turned, she heard a sound.
(snore!!!, woooh...)
She tries to find the sound, so she walks around.
"Where could that be coming from?" as she walked to the left the sound got weaker, but when she walked to the right it got clearer, and slightly louder.
She followed the sound towards the hedges, determined that the sound was coming from the hedges. 
She looks for something to seem off from top to bottom, but can't seem to notice anything different, so she pokes the hedges with a stick.
She poked around and the bottom part moved a bit; (Surprised) she pushed it, and it open like it was a secret door.
She entered the opening of the hedges, and what she saw made her gasp, it was a place that she never knew, beautiful flower bushes at the side; in the corner of her eye there was a big tree, that somehow made the site even more captivating. "What is this place, why isn't it in the school map".
But then she noticed the sound coming from behind the tree, she looked over and saw a boy sleeping with a book on his face.
"Oh that's where the sound came from, He was sleeping here.", "But, how did he found this place anyways?"
She then noticed that the book was from her favorite author; it was a volume that she haven't read before.
(note: she's a bookworm)
She then got the idea to recruit him by force, so she approached the boy;
at his rightside, and tried to look, but the book covering his face made it hard to tell who, he was. "I'll just give him a good shake, then ask him" as she tried to proceed.
"No, I shouldn't that would be rude, but then it is also wrong to let him miss classes", she reached out again, "No, I shouldn't; I don't even know who this person is, but then again he's probably a big fan of Shiroyuki just like me; I'll never know.. hmmmm.... Uh! just a peak then" as she reached her hand out to the book.
The boy said "Could you keep it down, I'm trying to sleep here.", Red was surprised.
The Boy sat up "Well, now I can't get any sleep anymore. What time is it?", Red replied"Oh! um... its 1:34!?",
(Boy) "Hm.. an hour after lunch" he then stood, (Red) "Wait!, where are you going?", 
(Boy) "Going out to eat" as he grabs his basket,
(Red) "But then what about classes", He then stops and looks at her, (Boy) "You know it's saturday, right?",
Red was too surprised that she didn't believe; the boy had to show his phone, to prove it.
(Note: The school was a boarding school, and she woke up late)
[When she was finally convince and already left the secret part of the garden]
(Red) "Well, I made a fool out of myself",
as her stomach growled,
(Red) "And now I made a myself into much more bigger fool",
Wolf then pulled out two sandwiches from his basket and offerred it, and said "Nah... We all make mistakes some times, and a bit hungry, but here you can these"
Red's eyes widen a bit as if she was surprised.
(Red) "Thank you",
 (Boy) "It ain't much, but ok".
Red takes a bite on the sandwiches and thought [Wow, their delicious]
She then asked him for his name, but he just answered with "People just call me Wolf", (Red, frustrated) "Well in that case you could call me Red; thats what my Friends call me",
Wolf smiled and grinned a bit but it wasn't noticeable "Yeah... I already knew; you with that red hoodie, red glasses, and to top it all off your red ribbons tied to your braids. Well that was a nice chat, good bye!"
(Red, a bit embarrassed) "Hey wait-" but someone then grabbed her by the hand; it was Jill, one of Red's friend
[note: Jill is a girl, jill is short for Jillianne; is also a member of the nobility]
(Jill) "Red with all due respect, you should stay away from people like him, haven't you heard that's 'Wolf'!; he's called that because of his white-silver hair, and that he has very violent personality "
(Red) "Oh... Ok", though she was not convinced and turned around to find Wolf, but he was no longer there.
[Monday, morning]
In the middle of class, she thought to herself [I don't think, he's that bad of a person (remembering the encounter, and the sandwiches)], she then remembers all of the things that Jill, and other rumors said about Wolf, ["Didn't you know, He's been known for destroying school property, stealing valuables, and not only did he pick fights with nobles, but also harassed women...."], (Red) "If he really did all of those things, isn't he supposed to be expelled or imprisoned right now".
She also thought about the book, [Yesterday, I have checked all the bookstores I know, but there were none that had Volume 3 of Life's a book]
(The bell rings)
The teacher dismissed the class for lunch. Red, Jill and their group of friends were headed to the cafeteria,
(Sophia) "I wonder what's on the menu for today", (Arielle) "I don't know, but I hope that they made Paella today. How about you, Lady Jill?", (Jill) "I'll just have today's soup and bread, like usual",
Red at the time was reading a book, Jill then asked Red the same question, she replied "I haven't decided yet, but I think I'll just have something light for today; I'm still looking for members, for my club, but I wouldn't want to abuse my posi-",
Out of nowhere, she suddenly bump into someone that was also reading a book.
They both drop their books, It was a boy; that wears a black hoodie, a white scarf, a surgical mask, and black glasses.
they picked their books up and he apologized with the highest sincerity, Red accepted his apology "It's ok, I'm fine".
As the boy left, (Sophia) "Wasn't That Gerald, from our class", (Ariel) "Wait!, we have a classmate named Gerald?", (Sophia) "How rude, but he is always so quiet during class; I always thought he was mute", (Jill) "Well.... Because he was so quiet, I also forgot that he was in our class; the last time I heard him speak, it was the welcoming ceremony"
Red was going to continue reading, but noticed that the book wasn't her's and that it was the same volume as Wolf's,
Red told her friends "Excuse me, you could go on ahead",
they wondered why but they just replied "We'll be waiting by the usual spot, if your still coming", (Red) "I'll catch up, if I can" as she left swiftly looking for Gerald.
She asks around, this time looking for Gerald. Even though Red gave a proper description, she still barely had a clue where Gerald went.
On the corner of her eye she saw a white scarf, when she chased after it.
[She ended up at the Garden]
Their she saw the back of a boy holding a book, wearing the hood of the black hoodie, a white scarf that she confrimmed was the same pattern.
Red Called out to the boy "Wolf, Is this your book", he checked the book in his hands; he turned around, with the mask taken off and his glasses in hand.
The person she saw....
it was really Wolf.
[Alone in the Garden]
(Wolf) "Yes, it's my book, and how did you tell it was me", Red proudly said "Women's intuition", Wolf doubts that and thought to himself [It's her again]
Wolf asked "[I don't want to be involve again, 
I bet that the others are just nearby] Are you alone", She got confused, yet curious and replied not even looking away "Yes!?, why you ask", (Wolf) "Nothing" thinks to himself [Based on that reaction, it seems she's telling the truth], but he still doubted her.
Looking at her straight to the face with eyes that glared daggers, Red asked "are you ok?", (Wolf) "I'm fine, why you ask",
Red went up to his face, looking back at him, straigth in the eyes, "Well.... while looking into your eyes, I could tell that their's something bothering you", she said with a sympathetic tone.
Wolf was flustered and looked away, in an effort to change the subject; he said "Can I have it back, the book I mean", she was going to return it, but decided "If you join my club, I'll return it to you", Wolf asked with a regretful tone "Do you REALLY want me in your club?",
Red replied with confidence and sincerity "Of course!, why wouldn't I", 
Wolf was shocked [I can't tell if she's lying or not], he bows "Fine, I am Gerald Grand Lupian", while bowwing [But if she isn't lying], he smiles but hides it.
Red smiled and bowwed "And, I am the president of the book club, My name is Charlotte Redrose Wisteria; it's nice to meet you",
Wolf cringend "Though everyone already knows who you are, it's also nice to meet you, princess",
Red was so happy to finally get another member for the club that she loved so much, but she was still curious as to how wolf found the secrect part of the garden. She tried to ask "Um, Gerald?", (Wolf) "Yes, princess charlotte?".
[already returned each other's books]
(The bell ranged)
(Wolf) "Looks like it's time for class", 
(Red) "Indeed should we go", so they walked back to the classroom together. As they walked Wolf was putting on his mask and hood, he was asked why he wears so much.
Wolf was silent for a while, but he then replied "This isn't really the right place, how about I'll tell you next time", they walked  in silence for a while; Red was still curious so she asked "How about later in the clubroom?",
Wolf looked back at her [I think?....
I could trust this person].
Wolf was asking himself; if he would really join the club, but after what just happened the question that he asked himself change and he replied "So where's the clubroom?", Red smiled and answerer "In Amber building, room 105"
[Later that Afternoon]
Wolf (glasses off, unmasked, and hoodie tied to his waist) was walking through the crowd, they were gossiping about him ("Hey, did you hear-", "Shh, he's right there", "why is he here", "was he called in again"), but soon a teacher came and made them go away. The teacher looked at Wolf, as he was heading to the Head of the School's office.
[The Head's Office]
Infront of Wolf was the Head's office door, he knock on the door and opened it; there he was greeted by the Headmaster.
(Headmaster) "Afternoon, Gerald what brings you here, or should I say Shiroyuki?", (Wolf) "Afternoon Sir, I'm here to turn in my club application form", Headmaster "Oh! I see, wait really?", suprised and asked "What club?", (Wolf) "The Book Club", (Headmaster) "Hmm... finally you joined a club; you had me worried, and here I thought you'll never have friends", (Wolf) "Sorry for worrying you, Sir",
(Headmaster) "Nah!, It's fine, but you don't have to be formal, when we're alone, you know",
(Wolf) "But sir, you're the headmaster and my boss",
(Headmaster) "But we're Friends, right?", 
Wolf gave in but replied "Fine, but I'll still call you Sir", Headmaster jokingly said "hmm, how about 'Dad'?".
Wolf instantly replied "That's sad, and you know it", it was super effective.
(Headmaster) "That's harsh, but I did see it coming, hehe...",
(Wolf) "Bye, Sir"
(Headmaster) "Is that all?, bye".
Wolf already left through the door, but he just remembered the other reason he was there, so he went back inside.
(Headmaster) "Oh!, back already"
Wolf embrassed trys to shrug it off "Here's the copy you let me, I liked the cover and their aren't any problems", 
(Headmaster) "That's good; the best part of being your editor, is that I can read your work before it's out",
(Wolf) "Sir, can I ask you something?",
(Headmaster) "Sure, go ahead", 
(Wolf) "Can I have this copy",
(Headmaster) "I can't think of a reason, why you can't" (Wolf) "Can I borrow a pen", (Headmaster) "Sure!, here you go".
The Headmaster notices what Wolf was doing, he asked Wolf "Who's it for",
Wolf was nervous for a second but still replied "A friend", (Headmaster) "A 'Friend' , I see", but he still asked "Is this 'Friend' a member of the book club".
Wolf answered hesitantly "Yes...", the Headmaster stands up and puts his hand on Wolf's shoulder "She's a girl, am I correct?", 
Wolf was left speechless and clicked his tounge "-tch",
The Headmaster laughs hysterically while saying "Well, you are at that age" and still continued laughing, Wolf left almost immediately.
When Wolf already left, the headmaster wiped the tears off his eye, and thought out loud "It's a good thing, Gerald started trusting others again".

In a time, in a place called Wisteria there is a prestigiuos school for all, arts, sports, business, and politics to just name a few.

the people are divided as commoners, nobility, and royalty.

the story follows a boy called wolf and a girl called red and many more.

"Want to know more, then let's see what happens next"

A young man with black hair reaching his blue-ish eyes and a muscular body fairly obvious under his long shirt and black jeans sat on a white couch at a huge lobby, the place looked luxurious and mysterious, women with red dresses were working behind a white reception desk, they looked like models instead of employees. the young man was red, holding a black thin book in hand, inspecting it. 'F rankers guide.' was written on it.
Upon opening the book, on the first page an eye symbol was drawn in the middle of the paper with black ink, it gave off a weird vibe.
It had the basic introductions to the rankers guild, these are not special, the information can be easily found online, it's the common knowledge about the guild which took up some pages.
Red scanned through the book, upon finishing it, a grim expression fell upon him, he had a hint of fear in his eyes.
What the book explained to red, even with his low rank, made him worry. the world was more dangerous and messed up than he thought.
The dangers of dungeons, this was not a surprise to red but what was, is the cruelty of your own teammates, he knew about robbing and rumors about killing each other for loot, but not the whole truth. Humans are a valuable material as well, some rankers and underground guilds and factions, would deal with humans and every living being, they can be used as test subjects or slaves, with a lot worse fate. even souls and body parts of all kinds can be sold.
Some sort of training can be provided, a veteran ranker will teach you the skills you purchase from the guilds store, all varieties of skills and equipment was available. a price for the skills and another payment for the instructor if needed.
All monster corpses or materials collected inside a dungeon can be sold to the guild, laws and order of society are unavailable inside dungeons, they try to prevent these actions but there isn't much that can be done, with storage rings and bracelets, the loot carried by the returnees is unknown.
When being unable to fulfill a quest or contract, penalty points will be given to the ranker, when reaching a certain number, the person will be enslaved or sold by the guild, or some sort of compensation must be provided. this was a common occurrence. with the benefits that comes from joining the guild, rankers must remember that it is not free.
The guild will take a 10% of quest earnings or loot sold.
An F ranker is only allowed to enter F rank harvesting type dungeons, with common resources and weak monsters. new rankers usually use them to gain experience in live combat. harvest dungeons are already conquered old dungeons which did not close, the boss is dead and the only danger was from the minions left, they respawn whenever a new team enters. a common occurrence among the low ranked dungeons, but extremely rare for high ranked ones.
All knowledge provided by the guide book is incomplete, all rankers must discover and learn by themselves.
Red was a bit nervous, the book didn't tell him everything and he has to discover the real rankers world by himself. due to the Steady Mind skill, he was able to stay composed in all situations, which helped him here as well. he calmed down, and sat there for a minute.
"Well, i knew the stories were too good to be true, all the heroes and saviors bullshit was just some sort of advertisement." muttered red with a serious expression.
Even with the small information the public was provided on the rankers world, he already knew that it is not what it seems and a lot of things are happening, he was prepared for the worst.
"I realize that what i know is just the bottom of the iceberg." muttered red. he knew that the humans sold and used are not only rankers or from dungeons. he was sure that civilians were somehow used as well it was just properly covered from the public eye. he got worried about his family, his mother and sister... many disturbing thoughts went through his head.
The book was not something for him to take home, it was just to save some trouble for the employees from explaining things to new rankers, he handed back the book to the woman.
"Are you done sir?" the woman asked with a smile, her pretty face and black long hair were eye catching, but red wasn't paying much attention to her, he was deep in thought.
"Yes, thank you." said red while turning and walking away.
"Wait sir, you forgot your beginner package." said the woman while putting items on the desk.
Red looked at her then at the items, there was a silver ring with small writings that went around it, a small white book with 'Telepathy' written on it and a small card. it had the black eye logo on its white background with a something written at the bottom.
"These are the beginner items provided by the guild for assistance. A lesser storage ring, a Telepathy skill book and our app link, type the link in your phone browser and it will start downloading, the app is very useful, auctions and shops, everything bought will be delivered to your door, information about dungeons and rankers is available as well. but not all information provided is free. good luck" the woman had that same smile on her face. she seemed odd to red but he didn't care much about her, he left after grabbing the items and throwing them in his pockets.
Red got home, he unlocks the door and steps in.
*tmp* *tmp*
Red could hear footsteps heading his way. his mother walked up to him.
"You're finally home, are you ok? did you get hurt??" she asked.
"No, i'm fine." answered red.
"Ok, good, i prepared some food. we waited for you, come eat and explain to us." she said with a serious expression.
They both walk in, red could see his sister sitting on the table with food on it. she waves at him and he waves back. he washes his hands and sits.
"Since when?" suddenly his mother asks. she was referring to his awakening. he understood.
"A while now, i spent some time understanding it and didn't want to worry you." answered red.
"The money, where did you get it, was it really from your ranker friend?" she asked. she knew that red was lying to her before, his lie was kind of obvious but now she has her doubts, since he's an awakened himself it wasn't that far fetched.
"Yeah, i did some work for him...." red continued "i registered today.. for the guild to take care of the incident at school, and future problems i had to." answered red, he didn't want to lie but he can't tell them everything.
His mother and sister kept asking questions, they finished their food.
"I heard you got first place red, nice bro." his sister continued "My friend told me." she had a smile on her face.
"Yeah, i didn't believe it either. hehe" laughed red.
"So what college are you going to apply to." asked raya (His mother).
"I ... I'm not going to apply to one, i'm a ranker now, i can make much more money than any job i can get in the future." answered red.
"What?. you won't be working as a ranker, i watch the news red, i saw all the deaths and weird things that happen." yelled his mother.
"The weird things don't just happen to rankers mom, it happens to everybody, we're barely able to afford anything now, and after what i did to stan at school, i'm sure his dad is going to come after us, we can't do anything without the guilds protection." said red with a serious expression.
Stans father was a known mad man, he has so many rumors about him and after what red read in the guild he was sure that most of it was true. many people vanish after an argument or a problem with him, the guild is the only thing that might keep him at bay for a while, until red could do something.
"I got a job red, this morning i was hired by a store owner, we spoke for a bit and after he learned that i lost my job he offered me one, it's a clothes store run by him and his daughter. they seem nice, the pay isn't as good as my last job but it should be enough. we'll think of something red, i don't think the rumors are true, we're nobodies he wouldn't waste his time on doing anything like that." said raya with a worried look, she knew that they were in danger, but she was trying to think positively.
"Mom, i didn't just fight with his bodyguard, i broke his arms by accident, i got mad and didn't control my strength, he tried to block my punch with his hands but they broke." explained red.
The room was silent for a bit, they were surprised by how easy he broke his arms but it was mostly because they knew that it was more serious than they thought.
After a bit of talking, reds mom agreed about him becoming a ranker, with the condition that he puts in some time to studying as well. it's not that she didn't trust he could handle things, but she just wanted to have a plan B for him at least.
After helping with the dishes, red goes to his room and takes a shower. he sat on his bed with the items he received in front of him.
He grabs the silver ring. "Appraisal."
'Lesser Storage Ring : A low grade enchanted ring, with a unique small space within it where any anything could be stored. space of three square metres is available. (Price : 50 000$).'

Red was speechless, he got this item for free but it was worth a lot. it would not be replaced for him if lost so he had to be careful while handling it, he read in that book that he could be killed for a ring like this. he didn't think much about it and put the ring on his finger...
'A new space detected'
'Update inventory? Yes / No'
Red was surprised. The inventory had 5 slots when he used it the first time, and with every level up 2 more slots would appear but it stopped at 15 slots, even after leveling up more it didn't add anymore, red thought it was the limit, but he found another way.
"Yes.". suddenly, some weird lines started appearing on the ring, it looked like it was getting older and decomposing, then it fell off his finger and turned into dust.
'Update successful.'
After seeing the message, red opened his inventory, and found out that it no longer had 15 slots, 5 more appeared. the lesser ring was worth 5 slots for him.
Red was happy, he didn't have to hide anything, and people won't attack him for the ring since he doesn't have one anymore, his items are safe.
He reached and grabbed the skill book, it was white with 'telepathy' written on it's cover. he opened the book and thought he'd check it out or memorize it since it wasn't that big and with his high INT it would be easy, it had only 20 pages that had explanations with pictures and descriptions. suddenly..
'Recording ...'
A message popped up with a loading bar under it, red didn't understand what was happening so he waited..
"It didn't move even a single bit.. why?" questioned red "Forget it, i'll just read the book myself.".
He continued reading and turning pages. at the middle of it red glaces at the loading message.
"It moved ... Is it related to me?" questions red "Maybe i have to read the book so it can get the information as well."
Red read through the book, it was a bit complicated, it explained how to control your mana and send messages through it to others. time is needed to master the skill, but then..
'Recording Complete ...'
'Learn Telepathy skill? Yes / No'
Red was surprised, he expected something like this to happen or fasten his learning of the skill since it was recording it but he didn't expect to just gain the skill straight away. "Yes.".
'New skill acquired : Telepathy'

The world was no longer the home of humans alone, Monsters and creatures of all kind forced their way through portals that opened out of nowhere.

Death was a common thing as people fought a war they had no chance of winning.

Until the discovery of the human potential, something nobody expected.

What turned the situation around were the abilities awakened by most of the humans.

All they knew is that it must have been related to the portals,  it was the only hypothesis that made sense.

As they managed to wipe the monsters and abominations out, they started closing the portals.

And the only way to do so is by going inside.

Years passed and a new society was built.

Guilds and clans were formed.

The story of our protagonist is a special one.

With the system and the mysterious god by his side, He will rise.

Follow red as he struggles for power, discovering worlds, forming friendships and enemies.

"Seven…" It was the title of the book that I pulled out of the bookshelves, as I succumb to my curiosity. I thought before opening the book. Why is it entitled seven? Now that I think about it, maybe it has something to do with the history of this world. Well, even though it might be part of the history, it is also regarded as folklore. 
      
            The history was like this. There were 7 sacred knights who wielded 7 sacred weapons which has its own individuality on its own ways. Using those sacred weapons they all wield, the 7 knights defeated the 7 great demons of deadly sins. Greed, Gluttony, Lust, Envy, Wrath, Sloth and Pride, these 7 one by one, as if it was one-sided, perished. Now, it was said that the 7 continents in this realm, Exelia are those 7 demons of deadly sins. They were sealed by the 7 knights. As time passed they turned into normal lands, as if they were soil to begin with. 

          Stating such history, I feel like the number 7 is stuck in my head for better and for worse. Well, even so it is only an approximation, just one of the possibilities. But why is it…that, since I've touched this book, up to now. Am I feeling goose bumps? As if those goose bumps were impact of this book. And there is another thing, I think…this is just a mere speculation, but I think that I have seen this book, before. Not in a near past, but in a distant one, as distant as the endless blue sky.

         "Ahem…"I cleaned my throat. I think it is time for me to stop these bothersome calculations, and start looking over it, or else my curiosity would explode, already. And so, I opened the book. Without knowing, that I started walking through the turning point of my fate.

          As I start flipping the pages of the book, there was a thought that crossed my mind. "I shouldn't have succumbed to my curiosity…"Yeah, right like I can turn my back, anymore. Why is it that I am shedding tears? Why is it that I can't remember anything? Now I think about it. Why is it that I don't remember anything about the events of my life, when I was 7 years old, as Hakuya Soraki? Why is my mind filled with this? It's becoming messed up…My memories are…becoming all messed up. "Grahhh.!!!!" I shouted in pain, as my eyes shed tears. "Young master!" Zack shouted. "Ed!" Thor as well, as the two of them rushed to where I was. 

             I can't see anything, everything is pure black. I can't hear anything, it is silence everywhere. Where am I? Are my eyes closed? Is that the reason of this darkness? No…it is pure black, even when I closed it or open it. Where the hell am I? "Are you lost?" A girl's voice called me from behind. 

            As I turned her way, I saw nothing but light. "Where are you?" I asked. "I am here in your front…The fact that you can't see my physical body, means that you are filled with emotions you can't control, or maybe you don't know how to control it…" She stated. "Emotions I can't control…" I mumbled, as I looked at my palms. 

           "H-how can I get out of here?" asked, as I looked at the light, while I put down my arms over my sides. "Don't worry; you will be able to get out soon… "He" will come to save you…" She spoke. "He..?" I mumbled. Who is she talking about? "Ah, look above!" She suddenly spoke. 

            As I looked above, like she said, I saw light above, more or less it looked like it was breaking the darkness around. I get the feeling that this darkness will come to an end, soon. Maybe that's why I looked down over the other light's way. 

            "Uhm, before I go let me ask, w-who are you?" I spoke. I felt it smile a bit. No…that is wrong, I saw her smile. Her face was a bit vague; no it is not her face that is vague, but my memory. I know her; I just don't remember who she is. She looked at me…And spoke "That is my line, you…who are you?"
       
            "Ugh!" I groaned, as I opened my eyes, a bit forcefully. I raised my right arm, to look at my palm. Somehow, I couldn't remember the contents of the book, except for one line. "Thy emotion is what makest thy right now…" I kinda remember that when I read that line was when, everything turned dark.

             "Young master!" Maria woke up. "G-good morning, I guess…" I mumbled, as she rushed to hug me. 

               After, seeing me awake, Maria went to call everyone. It seemed that I was asleep for three weeks. The reason was…I suddenly shouted in pain, while Zack and Thor were talking. When, they came to check me. They saw me surrounded by something dark, like miasma.

             After the two of them found me, it seemed that I kinda messed up the library unconsciously, while attacking them, as the two of them put up a pretty good fight. Suddenly, a red-haired man came out of nowhere, and came to heal me. The reason why I suddenly became raged like that was unknown. But it seemed like it has something to do with that one line, I remember. When that red-haired man checked it, it turned out to be just a normal book for others. The content everyone sees was off a normal recipe and history book. But in my and the red-haired man's eyes, it was a grimoier. A magic book in other words. Other than that, nothing came out of that book. Even so, the fact that line left off a big impact on me is unknown. And the fact that I suddenly thought about the events when I was 7 years old as Hakuya Soraki, is also unknown. Means all is left as a mystery.                

                      
           "The book surely was not the cause of your Son's sudden rage. Probably, it was nothing but a trigger…" The red-haired man stated. "I see. Then leaving the book unscratched wouldn't hurt him or anything?" The emperor asked. "Surely, but there is not guarantee that it might be the last…" The red-haired man spoke. "So, you are saying that there is a possibility of it happening again?" The Emperor stated. "Yes, knowing your son's mental state…I am sure of it" The red-haired man spoke. "Mental state..?" The Emperor mumbled. "If my speculations are right, your son…is not sure about his own memories…" The red-haired man stated. "Why?" The Emperor asked. "Like I said, speculation sir…means that it is similar to something you can call a bluff…right now it is…But who knows what might happen. Time sir…Give me time to prove my speculation…" The red-haired man explained. "Alright, I will give you a position that will make you stay with my son. But, for a while, make sure you are trustworthy…" The emperor spoke. "Of course…"  The red-haired man spoke. "You said your name was….what was it again?" The emperor uttered. "Fiore, sir…" The red haired man smirked.

Reina saw them, Reina saw what they tried to do, she saw what was in my hand. A golden covered book, a book covered in blood, a book worn over the ages. The Golden Journal, that's why they were there, that's why they were chasing her. She saw the Dark Riders, she saw the Red Devil. She saw everything that happened in her land, every King, Queen, or Ruler has this specific power, some are just modified. 
As I got even closer, I could see her face, her pale face, as if she saw something truly terrifying.  It was back, and It was on her property. It took all the combined efforts of the Solar Kingdoms to just seal the Red Devil. How was she suppose to do deal with It? The House of Light fell 50 years ago, and She was supposed to deal with It. By that time she knew, she knew Gaia fell under It's rule, that's where I came from on the Bifrost. Gaia fell, the heirs of the House of Light, either slain or turned into slaves. Something was happening on Gaia, something was on Gaia that the Red Devil wanted. It terrified her, something even more powerful than the Red Devil or the House of Light, she saw the fire in It's eyes. Something fueled It's ambition to rule Gaia, something, or someone was on Gaia. And the Red Devil wanted it.
As I ran from the Red Devil, something happened. It just stopped, I can still see It, It just stopped on the Bifrost. Reina stood, Reina with her arm raised, she somehow stopped the Bifrost from continuing to her realm. I somehow made it, barely, the Bifrost crumbled beneath me as I ran. The Gate closed on itself, I didn't see the Dark Riders or It anymore, I didn't see anything really, I blacked out after I crossed realms.  
I woke up shortly after, soon Reina came into into the bedroom I awoke in. Asking what happened and asked what the Golden Journal was doing in my hands. I told everything, everything that happened, what had happened, and how I got here. She understood immediately, she also felt the shockwave of the Chains of Regret, of Anger, of Sorrow when they were broken. She asked what was on Gaia that was so important that the Red Devil wanted. I didn't know what was on Gaia but there was someone chained there. She is named the Heart of Gaia, she is the center of Gaia and the main power source of Gaia. Without the Heart of Gaia, Gaia wouldn't have life like it does. She supplied my world with the life it's known for a millenniums. She would be a powerful ally, or slave, she could even rival the Red Devil and the House of Light in power. Or the Book of Truth and Beginnings, the Book of Truth and Beginnings is a book that has all the names of all living things stored in it. It is a powerful book which could kill a person if erased or overwritten. It also has some of the most powerful spells on all the Solar Kingdoms. It was hidden there when the Heart of Gaia was born.

Smack! Smack!

"I'm sorry grandmother! Please forgive me! Red riding hood, I swear that I as only going to take one of your pastries. I beg you to tell grandmother to stop hitting me."

Red riding hood looked at the Big Bad Wolf with merciless eyes. She raised her stick once more and smacked the side of his face with it. He turned to the left and spit blood as tears ran down his cheeks. The grandmother then kicked the Big Bad Wolf in the back. 

"Why should I have mercy for an evil Wolf such as yourself? How many houses have you purged?"
The Big Bad Wolf cried out as he was hit once more.

"I swear that I haven't purged any houses. Please believe me Red Riding Hood."

Umm. What the hell am I seeing? I sat on a chair in the corner of the room trembling in fear. Not from the Wolf but from Red Riding Hood and the grandmother. Red Riding Hood looked at me and smiled evilly.

"Are you his accomplice?"

I shook my hands desperately as I answered.

"No, no! I don't even know who he is!"

I clawed are the wall as Red Riding Hood walked towards me with a look of bloodlust. She locked the end of the stick which had the Big Bad Wolf's blood. 

"It's your turn next accomplice."

How am I in this position you ask? Well. First of all it's not good to pry into other people's business but I'll be lenient and answer your question. 

I have never been a bad person. I do my homework. I take out the trash. I apologize when I bump into someone by accident. I pay for my food even if there is no one at the restaurant. 

I'm Alina Marcel. A 19-year-old who has never dated. I am the perfect innocent girl at my University as an English Lit major. Despite all of my good qualities I am guilty of one sin. 

My love for erotic novels. As other students view me as someone who reads Shakespeare in school. At home I stay up at night reading manhuas and erotic novels. I have been to the doctor multiple times for anemia from how many times my nose bleeds.

I'm sorry. I'll never do that again. Moving on. It was a sunny day at University, I was walking calmly through the hallways to the library. Male and female students alike looked at me as if I were some saint. A girl dropped her books in front of me. I bent down and picked them up for her. I then turned and said nicely.

"Be careful next time!"

The girl blushed and nodded. I patted her head and walked along. Despite my calm appearance, I was ecstatic. As I nearer the library my pace quickened. Then it turned into a full sprint.

"Dina!"

The students in the library looked at me in awe. I tilted my head 30 degrees to the side and gave them my killer smile. The students blushed and looked down. I walked quickly to Dina. She looked at me with annoyance. She was the dealer of my guilty pleasure. Her green eyes, blond hair, child-like appearance and short stature make her seem as innocent as me to others. But in reality she is a real B to the I to the tch. 

"What do you want Alina."

"Where is the fairytale book that you texted me about? I brought napkins in case of any nosebleeds!"

Dina looked at me with disgust. Tears fell down my cheeks in shame. If others knew my real self I would be shunned by not only the school but society itself.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever Alina. My friend told me that it had quite the "scenes" if you know what I'm talking about."

I nodded and reached my hands to the brown book she was holding.

"Restrain yourself Alina, you look like an old geezer who was just offered a young child as a sacrifice."

"Dina stop tempting me and hand me the book. I must read it right now before third period!"

Dina sighed and handed me the book. I stroked the edge of the book lovingly. 

"Ugh. Alina you need a boyfriend. And ASAP."

"Shut up Dina!"

Dina chuckled and waved. 

"See ya later, book luster."

"Take that back Dina!"

"Text me!"

I pouted in anger. Dina sure knew how to piss someone off. Whatever now's the time to unravel the secrets in this book. The title had the words, "A crazy night in Grimm's room" written in gold. I put a napkin in my nose as I readied myself for the sauce inside. The title already shows promise. As I turned to the first page, an arm suddenly sprouted out of the book and pulled my arm. My eyes felt like they were about to pop out of their sockets in shock. There was an actual hand coming outside of the book! And it was pulling me into the story! I pulled my arm desperately from its grasp to no avail. A second later I find myself in our current predicament.

This wasn't an erotic fairy tale story. I was pulled into a story of good characters abusing their foes. Red riding hood stared at me with such hatred. 

"Answer me bitch! How many houses have you and the Big Bad Wolf ransacked?"

Woah there. Who was she calling a bitch. Ex-quease me but she was the one acting like a real bitch. The best course of action is to...

Throw all the blame on the Big Bad Wolf and hope it al works out in the end.

I threw myself in the floor and held Red Riding Hood's shoes with my hands. I bowed and said.

"Oh great, Red Riding Hood. I don't know this man. I myself am a victim Ike you of his tyranny. The last time I saw him ransack a house he threatened to kill me if I didn't follow him. I'm but a human, how am I going to go against his orders?"

Now that I look at the Big Bad Wolf he looks like a normal University dude except for the black wolf ears on his head and his tail. 

Red Riding Hood looked at me with compassion.

"You poor thing! You must've suffered a lot. Raise your head."

I raised my head in happiness.

"Thank-"

"Let me take you out of your misery!"

Eh? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHHHHH? Was she some kind of crazy sadist bitch? I crawled back as Red Riding Hood swung her large stick. Her eyes crazy as she laughed maniacally. 

Oh my freaking God. How the hell am I going to get out of this?

"Hold it!"

One of the Shurymites that was guarding the large double doors of the archives smacked his tentacle-like tail on the ground the moment Jay approached them.

Jay did not need to speak up and he just took out a small bag that contains a hundred Blood Gems.

When the guard saw it, he snatched the bag away from Jay and gestured his partner to open the door.

"One hour. You have to pay extra for every succeeding hour." The guard said to Jay as he opened the door with a small key.

Jay just nodded at the guards as he entered the archives.

...

Even though the archives looked small due to its exterior appearance, the interior of the place was quite huge in comparison.

There were a lot of bookshelves that was filled with books. There were also some cabinets that were filled with scrolls or maps.

There was also a forbidden area within the Archives, and to get to this place, there was a staircase that lead below the archives.

"One hour huh? I wonder how many books I will be able to steal?" Jay thought to himself and walked towards a random bookshelf and grabbed a random book.

The book he grabbed was just a thin book with a leather cover. The title of the book was 'Blood Ties: Chapter I'

Jay got curious and opened the book and started reading it. But the moment he started reading, he noticed that every word he read from the book starts to blur out and disappear after a few seconds.

He did not even had time to think about it when Hellson suddenly shouted at him with a surprised tone.

"Jay! The red book in the mind room opened on its own! It looks like the red skull is eating something! Try reading some words from the book in your hand again!"

Jay got really curious and did what Hellson asked. The moment he did, Hellson told him that the red skull started to open and close its jaws. The moment he stopped reading, the red skull also stopped what it was doing.

"Hellson, go ask it what's it doing." Jay asked Hellson as he returned the book back to the shelf and grabbed another book.

After a few seconds, Hellson spoke up.

"It told me that as long as you find information related to Blood Magic, it will start eating the information you get and place it on the red book."

Jay had a grin on his face when he heard this so he tried flipping through the book in his hands, without even reading it. But sadly though, it did not work. 

"Damn. It looks like I actually have to read it." Jay sighed and just decided to rely on the mysterious bookshelf on the Mind Room for now and just keep grabbing book after book.

...

One hour later...

Jay did not know how many books or scrolls he grabbed, but he knew it was probably a thousand books or something. Some of the Shurymites in the archives even looked at him pitifully and thought he was a lunatic.

When he was asked what he was doing, Jay told them that he was looking for a specific book.

"Time's up. Get out or pay another 50 gems." A deep and rugged voice boomed within the archives while a gigantic red eye appeared in front of Jay.

Jay just shrugged as he left the archives and went to a random alleyway so he could enter the mind room without any disturbances.

...

--- Forbidden Hall, Shurym's Archives

There wasn't really much to say about this room since it was pretty small. It just looked like a small cave that had an office-like design.

"Ouch, ouch, ouch..." A Shurymite with crimson colored skin and short black hair was currently wailing in pain. He was just normally doing his job as the one in charge of the archives. Then suddenly, for an unknown reason, it was as if bugs and worms started to crawl around his head and kept on biting him.

"The hell is this?" He asked himself and decided to use Blood Magic to check anything weird within the archives. The moment he did, a gigantic red eye appeared on the main hall of the archives and looked at everything.

Then after looking around for a few seconds, the Shurymite had a ghastly expression on his face and decided to rush towards the main hall.

...

"WHERE IS IT!??" The crimson-skinned Shurymite shouted furiously as he picked up book after book at the bookshelves. Every book he grabbed did not have a single word on it! Even the titles of the book were missing!

"Please no, please no..." The Shurymite had a ghastly expression on his face as he kept checking book after book. Since he was the one in charge of this place, and as one of the 10 lords of the Shurym Plane, he knew that the consequences he will receive from the War God will probably be worse than just imprisonment.

...

The next morning, in the inn Jay previously worked at...

"Hey, did my dad show up here?" A random Shurymite with brown skin asked the innkeeper who was wiping some cups and wine bottles.

"No. He was hanging out with his two buddies. Drunk buddies." The innkeeper said casually.

"Oh, okay then. Can you please help me convince him to come home if he returns to your inn?"

"Sure."

...

On the streets of Underbelly City...

"Oh thank goodness you're here good sir." A female Shurymite with brown hair quickly said as five gray-skinned Shurymites who had armor on arrived near her.

The gray-skins immediately checked the surroundings and saw faint traces of blood. Even though Jay cleaned up the corpses, there were still spots of blood around.

"You trying to waste our time woman?! No one fucking cares if there are a few spots of blood on the walls of your house!"

--- Slimerock Tavern

This place was probably the largest tavern in the whole Underbelly City. Jay was currently pretending to be a drunkard who managed to sleep on the table. Of course, he was just inside the Mind Room.

Mind Room...

"Did you enjoy your meal last night?" Jay said as he patted the red skull floating above the red book.

"I did enjoy it master. Now, about the knowledge you made me eat, I manage to devise a way for you to step into the stage of Sacred Blood Magic with little effort."

Jay immediately got intrigued and gestured the red skull to continue speaking.

"You just have to suck the blood of a practitioner of Sacred Blood Magic. As for how much blood you need to suck, it depends on the quality of their blood."

"Quality?" Jay asked since he was not sure what the red skull was talking about.

"It's just like any ordinary food or drink you take in. The better it tastes, the faster you can progress into Sacred Blood Magic. The more disgusting it is in taste, the slower your progress is."

"We are still talking about blood right?"

"Exactly."

Jay was not sure if he should do it or not since sucking blood... that was just a bit disgusting for him. For him to actually suck the blood of a random Shurymite who is a practitioner of Sacred Blood Magic... was it worth it though?

"Jay, I have an idea." Hellson suddenly appeared beside him.

"Since you managed to fuse some of your chicken skills with blood magic, won't it be possible for you to use blood magic while you are in your chicken form and perhaps create some kind of 'Vampire Chicken' form?" Hellson said as he looked at Jay.

"A Vampire Chicken? Just what the hell have you been thinking of these past few days? But... your idea does not seem so bad..."

The virtual massively multiplayer online role- playing game (vrmmorpg) "Dungeons and Towers of Fate" was released on the year 2064 and more than 64% of the people in the world bought and played the game. Jay Castle, a 28 year old shut-in, who reached an incredible feat in the game had a strange dream one day. The next day he gets reincarnated into the game.

Not a second had gone by. 

How was this possible? 
Ruby's head raced, swarming with thoughts. Had it all been a dream? It couldn't have, if time had not gone by, she knew she hadn't fallen asleep. It had all seemed so real—but there was no way it could have been. Flipping around the pages, she couldn't find anything that might explain her situation. Not only that, but the story Little Red Riding Hood, was wiped completely off the page! Frantically flipping through the book, she couldn't find it! 

From cover to cover she couldn't find the story. The pages where it was supposed to be were just blank. She pulled out her pen, with the idea from Tom Riddle's diary in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, she wondered if she wrote on the page it would just disappear. At first she thought that was completely stupid of her, but then again, what had just happened to her? Normally Ruby would never write in a library book—but, this was for.....research? Sighing, she wrote a small dot. 

After a few minutes, nothing happened. Giving up, she tossed the book on the bed and rubbed her eyes. I'm just.....tired, and got the wrong book....but again, it seemed so real. I don't know what to do. 

To distract herself from the book, she worked on her math homework. About twenty minutes later she finished, satisfied and slightly distracted, she put the sheet in her folder. Reading the textbooks for science and history and taking notes, reorganizing her binder, writing up her to-do list for the next day, she tried everything to keep herself busy and distracted. 

Curiosity got the best of her in the end. Nervously picking up the book, she opened it up to the page. A small beige envelope sat on the page with red sealing wax. Ruby gingerly picked up the envelope, carefully opening it. 
It read: 

To whomever it may concern, 

You have gone into the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Now, since you did not follow the original story line of talking to the wolf ect, the story is no longer in use because there is no point to the story, no moral.

The. What. 
Huh? There is absolutely no way. It had to be some prank or something that a kid put in the book, right? Right?! 
There was no way it could be like that. The envelope wasn't there before. I'm going insane...Ruby thought. 

She decided she'd head outside and walk around for a bit to clear her head. As she was walking she spotted Lola walking with Martha. They all locked eyes for a moment and stated walking towards each other. 
"Hey Ruby!" Martha greeted cheerily. "Hey guys," Ruby replied. "You look tired, are you feeling alright?" Lola asked worriedly. "I'm fine, don't worry about me," 

They walked around for a bit until it was time for dinner. 
Heading to the cafeteria they got their food, and tonight was pasta. It was pretty delicious, much better than the food at Ruby's public school, that's for sure. As the three were eating Ruby was lost in thought, thinking about the book and the envelope. So wouldn't that mean that nobody knows the story anymore? Should I ask them? I won't tell them about the book or anything—they'll think I'm crazy, she thought. 

Clearing her throat, she asked, "You guys know  the story of Little Red Riding Hood, right?" Martha set down her fork, quickly swallowed her food and said, "Huh?" "Little Red who?" Lola chimed in. "You know the don't talk to strangers and the wolf and the grandmother—" 
Ruby explained. "I have no idea what you're talking about," Martha said confused. "The fairy tale!" Ruby exclaimed. "Everyone knows it!"
"Um....Ruby, I've never heard of it." 
"Same here," 
"Oh nevermind," she said annoyed. 

So I erased the story? How am I supposed to fix it? How?

Ruby kept on thinking of possibilities but she doubted they would work. She avoided a lot of contact with the book, she even checked out a different book, and decided that she'd do the essay on Goldilocks and the three bears instead. 

Still, guilt lingered in her. She had completely gotten rid of a classic fairy tale that children loved. Now, no child would hear that at bedtime—nobody knew what it was. Yet she had no way to fix it, and she didn't exactly know what she was dealing with. Apparently there's a fairy, too. She made a promise that she would try and solve it soon. Granted it would be hard, especially with school going on and many things she had to keep up with. 

It was English when she was zoning out, Mrs. Jenson was going on and on about sentences and grammar, which was the worst part of English, in Ruby's opinion. Tuning her out, she continued to think about the book. Maybe if I send an envelope to Melisande, the head fairy, maybe she could answer....but would it go through? Does it work like a mailbox or something? I wonder if.....her thoughts were disrupted by Mrs. Jenson, who said, "Miss Nighingale!" Ruby quickly snapped out of it, and said "Yes?" "What kind of sentence is on the board?" Ruby quickly scanned the board and said, "Run-on," "Correct. Please don't daydream in class from now on," She heard a few classmates snicker and in embarrassment her cheeks flushed bright red. Internally groaning, she kept her attention on the board. 

At dinner she picked at her food, not really listening to the conversation that Lola and Martha were having. "Ruby what do you think?" Lola asked. "Hmmm?" "Do you think that the science quiz will be hard?" "Not really. I think it'll be easy enough," Ruby said thoughtfully. "Hey are you okay? You just seem out of it lately," Martha said. "I'm fine, just tired, I guess," 

After dinner Ruby went to the library, so she could check out the book for longer since it was about to expire. Nobody had it on hold anyway, as expected. Sitting down at a desk, she took out a piece of paper and started to write.

I am writing this because I feel as if there is no other option for me. I got this book as a refresher for an English paper, I certainly did not mean to get into the story and erase it. Is there anything I can do to perhaps fix it? I have no clue what to do. I could really use some information and help.

Folding the paper neatly and sliding it into an envelope, she put it inside the book on the same page, closed it up, and continued with her regular studying. Every five minutes she would look back on the book, but the paper was still there. I was stupid to think that it would actually work, Ruby thought with annoyance. Huffing, she put the book in her bag and headed down to her dorm room. 





Two weeks had gone by, and no response. Time for plan B, Ruby thought.

Ruby Nightingale is 13 years old, a bright girl, who much to her distaste, is sent off to boarding school. She finds a mysterious book, where she can go into any story she chooses, but she has to play as a certain character. If she messes up the plot, the story could be completely changed forever. One night she decides to go into a story, messes up part of the plot, and she has to change it before it's too late. Will she be able to?

February 2nd, Chinese New Year Eve…
Pei Qian lay on the sofa, playing his cell phone like a cripple.
His parents were also staring at their cell phone screens. They were grabbing red packets and sending voice messages to wish others Happy New Year.
The technology of cell phones had improved at a vast rate in this world. It was much more advanced than what Pei Qian thought. They were still calling and sending messages a few years back, but they had all advanced to using their phones to send red packets over the past two years.
Red packets of the older generations were usually a few yuan or cents. They were seldom over 50 yuan, sending just a 'good intention'.
Pei Qian's parents did grow suspicious about the new clothes and computer that he had brought home. However, he had already prepared his reasoning.
It might not be perfect, but he had paved the way. They knew Pei Qian was working at Fei Huang Workspace previously. Fei Huang Workspace was developing at a good pace recently so he managed to muddle over.
Most people brag about their position and income anyway. They would not think that Pei Qian would have any reason to do the opposite.
Therefore, they were not too caught up about money but rather… the house.
