I nodded unconsciously. Yeah, Humans are stupid. They always teach us, we are free. We have freedom. But yet we live with restrictions, rules and laws. I understand why there are laws but saying we are living freely is a bit inaccurate.

"Well, let's forget about such things... Now that I already explained what love is. I think you already know the gist of it."I said with exasperated sigh.

"I may have understand about it a little bit. There are things I couldn't quite understand... Would you mind answering my questions Shido?"She smiled.

Staring at her eyes for a second. I release another sigh inside my mind. I nodded.

Thinking of this i kept a rose on the same tree where i last met him. Trees are covered with snow just like that day. I wish he could see the love i had for him!

Taking my glouse off i went inside my home only to be stopped by my angry mom and my beloved dad who is trying to calm her down.

"mom you need to understand its snowing and you aren't well too, please mom i promise ill make you pancakes now, with strawberry syrup and we will have icecream tomorrow if it doesn't snow too bad" i tried to convince her as i know how hard headed she is. 

"are you really going to make pancakes for me? " she asked with the hope in her eyes. she's damn sweet when she says such things with her brown eyes showing purity. that's why mothers are different. they tend to love you with no condition and they will be happy with the little things done for her. 

"yes mom! With your favourite syrup" i said with all the excitement i can muster up at that moment. 

"then it's fine but only on one condition, this old man here is not going to get one piece of it" she glared at dad by saying this. 

"what? I also need pancakes. This is unfair i cant pay just beacuse i care for you"  dad sighed dramtically to which my mom softened . this is how they are. they can't fight with each other and if they do they usually mend it up by an hour or so. that's why they are couple goals in my eyes. 

"fine, you can have but you need to say that 'my wife is smarter than me and i love her" my mom kept a childish condition infront of my dad. 

"you are the smartest honey and i love you" with that dad pecked my mom on lips. 

"ewww,mom dad no showing love infront of me. You people are making me feel sick" i really had a urge to puke

"say the same thing when you will see your beloved, when we are in love we dont care where we are or who are watching us what we do care is, the one whom we love" said my mom with Adoration in her eyes for my dad

But it hurts that i can never love anyone else than him .he was the only one who created the feeling of love in me. 
Seeing the pain in my eyes , my mom hugged me and said

Leaving my mom and dad in living room i went to kitchen to make some panckes. How i wish i could make some for him. Sighing with little disappointment i went to make pancakes.

"I need to be careful when ill go to jungle again" i made a mental note and finished my dinner. Keeping the plate in nightstand i fell into my pillows to have the dreams of him.   I nod with full of amusement. I was shocked that a guy like him really do exist.
   "But it can be both. I fell in love with your physical appearance and your personality."
He smirked.
  "You're in love with me?" he asked playfully. "I thought you will not going to fall in love with me?"
   My eyes widened and my cheeks felt hot.
   "No, I'm not! I'm just... Argh! You were full of shit!" I groaned.
   "And you fell in love with me because of that. You fell in love with my shit." he teased continuously.
   "What!? No! I'm not going to fall in love with the stranger shit! Never. Not in this lifetime."
   "Hm? But in the next lifetime, maybe?"
   I frowned. "Don't be full of yourself, man! You're not funny."
   He laughed and his laughter sounds like a trumpet to my ears.
   I pouted. This is so fucking unfair! What's happening right now is so fucking unfair!
   "Imagine, we already saw each other before but we just ignored the chance." he mumbled. His eyes were on the moon. "You know what, I feel sorry for us."
   "I will be back... I promise. I will find you." I murmured.
   I took a deep breath and smiled.
   "I hate my life. My parents were always the one in charge of how I should live. They were the one who always decided for me. What should I eat, what should I buy, what should I watch, what should I read, and who should I love. And it's fucking suffocating!...Till one day, I decided to pursue the things I want. They don't like it but they still support me financially. But I guess, they were right. I can't make it. I failed… and I just realized, maybe I really can't decide for myself. And that's broke my heart more. I'm such a failure." I laughed between my tears.
    I bit my lips when I felt his thumbs on my cheeks. He wiped my tears and make me look at him.
    "No, you're not a failure. Just believe and trust yourself. You know who you are. You know what's good for you. Maybe there are times that your decisions are not for the best and just makes things worse, but that doesn't mean that you are not capable enough to decide on your own. That you can't decide for yourself because you will only fail."
   "...We all fail. But not everyone knows how to stand up on their own. And make that as your advantage."
   "There's nothing wrong listening to your parents and other people around you. But there's also nothing wrong with living your life based on how you want to live."
   "Not because it's not good, it's now bad." we said in chorus.
   We both laughed. Again, in chorus. And while watching him catching his breath because of too much laughing, I realized how right my decision was. I ran away from my family and from everything. And now I'm here. I found him.
    "From now on, I will live my life the way I want to live." I said bravely.
    He smiled. "That's my girl."

I took a deep breath and I wanted him to realize it, too, I just had to make him feel it.  "Knowing that I am going to die, how does that make you feel, Luke?"  I asked calmly as I turned to him.

At that, he spun around with a ferocity I had never seen and screamed back, "Because I love you!"  He stopped and lowered his voice slightly as he continued, "I always have!  I've never loved anyone as I have and still do love you!  I know I shouldn't but I do, Laylan!"  A tear streamed down his cheek at his own realization.  "I love you," he repeats softly. 
I didn't say anything.  Of course, I knew it, but to finally hear him say it, to hear him say that he loves me, that was worth everything.  "You know," I started with a smile, "I remember the moment it happened.  It was a perfect, beautiful night and you gave me my pendants, my gold sun and silver crescent moon pendants.  The pendants that you handcrafted with such love that when I touched them I cried.  My tear hit the ground and a rose sprung up.  We watched as it bloomed and Ivy was born.  Do you remember?"
"Of course," he said as he looked at me.
"Our eyes met and my love for you ignited like a ball of fire within my gut."

"Then I was told of my destiny and I was so angry because I didn't have a choice in the matter.  I was going to be with a human man that I couldn't choose."  I stepped passed Luke again, my eyes falling to the ground.  "You found me in my tree and made me feel better, explaining that I would choose to love who I was meant to love.  And we came home, you went to your tent and I to mine.
"I laid in my bed and I dreamed of you, only this time you came into my tent, walked up to my bed and kissed me," I stopped, bringing my fingers to my lips, remembering my dream and how it had made me feel.  I turned toward him and looked at him as I said, "You kissed me and then you made love to me."
His eyes widened at my bold confession.  "I woke from my dream breathless and I needed some air.  So I went outside and started for the shore but stopping in front of your tent.  I looked over and I could see you sleeping and all I wanted, was to go in there, wake you with a kiss," I looked back up at him, into those beautiful light blue eyes.  "And tell you that I realized the truth.  I wasn't angry because I didn't have a choice but more so the fact that I couldn't choose the man that I was in love with.  For I was meant to be with a human, not an elf."  I touched his cheek and wiped away a tear from his face. 
I could see the realization of my words register in his eyes and I began again, "But I couldn't, I didn't have the guts, I was afraid you didn't feel the same, so I went on to the shore, sat on our log and cried.  I cried for hours, until tendrils of sunlight were rising in the east."  I stepped past Luke once more, "My heart was breaking, over and over.  I felt as if there was a hole in my chest where my heart should have been.  Then Artimous came to me," I turned around and looked at him laying next to Gamorrah, near where I had been sitting.  "I told him of my feelings for you.  He was the only person in Cion to know that I, Laylan, Princess of Pagan was in love with Lucassius, son of Greagan and Gamorrah of the Plain-elves.  Your goddess was in love with an elf."  I looked around and could see the surprise and shock in everyone's faces.  All of the elves and even Casimir and Lothair's faces were drawn in shock.
"Do you know what wise Artimous said?" I stopped and looked at Luke who shook his head, no.  "He said, 'If you are in love with Luke, then you were meant to be with Luke, and if you are meant to be with Luke, then someway, somehow he will someday be the man he needs to be, to be with you.'  Well, I love you!  I am in love with you, Luke!  Which means that you are Kai."
"But...but I'm not..."
"Human?  Is that so, Leonidas, you have been human for nearly seven hundred years.  Sure, you were a vampire but soon, the end of the age of the vampire will be upon us and humanity is in your future.  Look at yourself," I reached up and wiped a tear from his cheek, "you sure are crying like a human.  You got angry like a human.  You love like a human. You are human, Luke, human enough," I looked even deeper into his eyes.
"My father chose you, as Laylan I chose you, as Drusilla..." I giggled to myself, "I chose you.  For it was always you that had my heart, no matter how dark that heart got.  And now, I stand before you as not just Laylan, not just Drusilla, but as Abigail, the medium, the balance between the light of Laylan and the dark of Dru and say proudly, I choose you, Lucassius!  I will choose you a million times over.  Hell, I will choose you everyday until the end of our lives.  I love you, Luke, and I always will."
"I thought I was crazy, being in love with you.  I mean, me, in love with my goddess.  The goddess who had a bigger purpose than loving an elf," he finished almost disdainfully.  "So, the kiss..." Luke whispered but stopped.  He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked down at the ground and back up again with hope deep in his eyes.  "The kiss we shared the day we left Cion.  It was supposed to happen," he said astonished and I smiled in response.
"And what do you think now? Do you still think you're crazy?"
"I, uh," he looked down at his hands that he was fidgeting.  I had never seen Luke fidget before so I stepped forward, took his hands and intertwined my finger with his.  He looked into my eyes and spoke with sincerity, "I can't believe it.  I mean, I've wanted this for so long, I'm terrified..."
At that, I stepped up and my lips met his.  Suddenly, a wave of euphoria past through me and I was lost.  The world was spinning and visions of  Luke and I in our tree flashed, then our races and us swimming.  I could see the love in his eyes through every vision.  Then I saw that day, our last day in Cion, when we had kissed for the first time.  Our emotions taking over and us losing ourselves in the passion of that moment.
Then his kiss deepened and became more intense, more demanding, as he finally accepted the truth.  He was Kai and he could finally love me as he always had.  His kiss was full of want, of need and I reciprocated that need as I surrendered to him.  I felt his tongue skim my teeth and dance with my own as I explored his mouth and he mine.  
The kiss began to slow and we pulled back, peering into each other's eyes.  The only thing I could think to say was, "marry me, Luke."
A tear rolled down his cheek as he answered, "I will marry you and gladly love, live and die by your side."  He kissed me and I was lost to him again.
