I am just a reader. And while I have 12 years’ worth of reading light novels, mangas and fantasy books, I still lack the endurance and devotion to truly write something I would put my heart into, which would be more than just a silly small thing with 10 chapters. 

Yet I became capable of finding faults within other novels so much that I can no longer stop myself from putting it somewhere. Especially because sometimes those faults become the reason I can’t read my favorite novel anymore. It went downhill just too much. 

So this is my collection of the aspects and tips on how to make your writing a better quality.

Just as there is 'Soft Magic' in Fantasy that is portrayed through magibabble, there can be 'Soft Science' in a Sci-Fi stories through technobabble that makes 'some sense', but not entirely correct.

We are frickin' writers, not scientists. You don't have to be anatomically correct all the time, all you need to do is show that you know enough of your stuff to write a decent story. In fact, the excuse of it being an alternate world can be used if you're going to bend the limits of physics and say that fire doesn't need air to exist in this parallel dimension.

I see a lot of writers being put into a state of confusion due to not understanding the line between fantasy and Sci-Fi. They seem like they are trying to fit the Star Trek mould too often.

Science can just as well do the same things as plot devices in fantasy stories. Once you add 'realism' to a fantasy, it becomes progressively better sometimes compared to a completely fantasied story where 'logic' doesn't hold within it.

Those who write Sci-Fi usually envision a future they can imagine where magic-like Rocket Boots and other stuff exist. However, a writer must not get bogged down by small details and MUST think of an overarching story where these details matter.

It is the same with Fantasy. Even if you write about someone breaking the mould as a wizard or something, you have to attach your world to a narrative rather than doing it the other way 'round.

No one wants to hear about how awesome your boat propellers are before hearing your story's narrative. They would rather you cut down and make it relevant when it is actually relevant.

Adding some 'Hard Science' to your story is only when the scenes later on have any use for them. It bores a person to death no matter how extensive your technobabble is unless you make it interesting. Try using facts as plot elements.

For example: Even the simple fact that people cannot breath in space and instantly die when they come in contact with the 'void' of space could be used to add a layer of tension when a spaceship is damaged. Similar to how dangerous 'hard magic' is used in Epic Fantasy like Frodo's Ring in The Lord of the Rings has definitive corruption on others.

Unlike Fantasy that can use the Power of Friendship to bend logic, the readers of Sci-Fi never be expecting any 'realistic' plot elements to be bend just because the Author wants a happy ending. There are no 'Healing Potions' in real life that can be used to fix up injuries nor are people affected by prophesies or whatever.

This is the contrast between Sci-Fi and Fantasy that you can make full use of. As most authors go onto the Sci-Fi side of writing not because they strive to be scientists but since the aesthetics of a science fiction world are just so interesting.

Science Fiction is a good place to tackle heavy topics like the nature of life and the absurdity of those who see 'science' as everything. Those who disregard emotions and become cybernetic entities for the sake of casting off their mortality are portrayed as the bad guys while our totally human protagonist fighting them is a 'good guy'.

The lines between an Artificial Intelligence and regular Humans blurs as we become the 'God' of technological species that defy our definition of what is 'living'. Just as we see God as some sort of fourth-dimensional and incomprehensible being that created us as an imperfect image of 'Him', the robots given sentience would see us similarly.

Some robots might have emotions that can allow them to defy their programming, some robots won't go as far as gaining emotional functionality but will preform their roles better than even a human. It could show the reason why people get attached to the inanimate and soulless objects we put our own hearts into creating (like Big Hero 6).

But though exploring philosophical questions is good and all, never forget that a good 'plot' is needed to put forward and give clues into the writer's answer that context. Sci-Fi is, after all, a premise, not a relatable character in of itself.

Think of the science-fiction elements as just the background for your story, similar to how other genres should be that as well. You won't have to deal writing blocks if you keep to writing only what you know rather than just speculative theories.

Whether it's as dark as a Cyber Punk or optimistic of the future, just know what mould you are using for this premise. Are you writing an Adventure story with Sci-Fi as the places, destinations, and whatever tools the MC can get him hands on, or are you writing a comedy where the Sci-Fi elements don't need consistency but absurdity?

After moving past why you shouldn't add unneeded technobabble unless it's interesting to listen to or has plot significance, let me remind you all that robots and 'science' isn't entirely separated from the realm of magic. After all, there is a reason you don't see skimpy power suits being worn by astronauts these days. Just be sure to have a focus if your going to add very illogical things to the plot.

I like Gundam as much as the next guy but the whole reason the Mecha sub-genre of Anime has waned in recent years is because writers have been focusing too much on 'science' rather than the spectacle. I don't need to now what materials your Mecha is made of unless you point its weak points and make it relevant in a fight scene.

Bring up the strengths and weaknesses of something and THEN use those facts as devices that can move the plot. Conversely, if you go overboard with this advice and tell me nothing but how your giant robot looks and the 'science' behind its creation, even going as far as to tell me how many secret guns it has, then I'll be bored...

I'd love to see Cyborgs Vs Mecha but just don't forget the human element of Sci-Fi. How we create things not solely for the sake of creation but put are feelings into it just like the novels we write.

Humans are passionate that way...

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

Romance is a very popular genre in Webnovels. The first thing that come to mind when we talk about romance are the CEO novels. Even though we don't want to admit it, they are the mainstream romance stories in the Webnovel website. 

So why do people love romance stories? I hope you find the answer while reading this chapter.

Elyon knew that "Romance" is not his strong point. He writes a fantasy story with romance, but he can't tell if the romance will be able to attract female readers. Out of curiosity, he asked some of his fellow authors the question "Why do you read romance stories?"

Here are their answers…

Kyosei: Because I am single. 

Reili: To fill my empty void of a love life.

Minrei: Because romance let you feel what is to be loved, plus it is universal you dont need to learn magic or cultivation in order to read.

Bajj: Due to lack of romance irl.

Murakami: I read because I enjoy the friction and conflict between the FL and ML. The insistence vs resistance is naisu.

Qin: I reads romance only for ideas and info.

VlassisBehrakis: I don't read romance novels.

[A/N: Oof I asked the wrong person.]

Elyon then  ̶a̶m̶b̶u̶s̶h̶e̶d̶ asked some readers about their opinion about romance novels.

Yin: I read romance novels because I want that kind of drama to happen to me in real life. But I know it will never happen haha.

A Certain Irresistible Meowlin: I wonder why? And I do read romance novels. Though the chance of me dropping them is also the highest out of all the genres. Every so often I come across a scene that makes me just want to squeal and fangirl.

Elyon decided to dig deeper and asked a few of his senior "romance authors" some questions about their reason for writing romance stories.

The first question is… Why did you choose to write Romance Stories?

Anjeeriku: I'm comfortable writing romance stories compared to other genres. I'm a helpless romantic person and I like novels that can invoke other people's feelings.

Bajj: First of all, I like reading romance story. It was the reason why I read books before and reading other genres comes after. All in all, due to these romance fiction books, I got the opportunity to read more great books with different genre.

MishaK: That's what I read, so write that too.

Zehell2218: Because as reader, I want to read romance novel so when I write, I write romance since my motto is I write what I want to read.

Ikazainudin: The easiest genre. Everyone can relate.

End_of_Era: It wasn't a full on Romance, it was slice of life with romance which I feel was necessary with progression of the characters.

The second question… When you were making your ML and FL, did you imagine yourself as the lead of your story at any given point in time?

Anjeeriku: I would be a liar if I said no. There were instances that I'd put myself in my FL's shoes. Whenever that happens, my writing feels more passionate and truthful that sometimes it was hard to know where my fl starts and where I end. 

Shen Yi, LMD's ML was based on a person I've lost, The One That Got Away so it was sometimes hard not to self-insert whenever there were scenes that need to invoke feelings from readers. 

Bajj: I believe that every character the author was making and breathing life into it, a part of him/her is added to its character. But me imagining of being the ML/FL, never. I'm too pure for that. Kek

MishaK: Yes I did but sometimes. Otherwise you can't infuse emotions in your characters. It is important to understand your characters.

Zehell2218: Yes, I imagine myself as the lead. Of course, I tweak it a bit, such as in age and appearance. But mostly, the characteristics is similar to me.

Ikazainudin: FL and ML character based on what I want to be irl. Yup. I imagine that will be my love story.

End_of_Era: Yes, my leads had some ocassional self insertion.

The third question… If you were to choose some other genre aside from romance, what would you pick?

Anjeeriku: Fantasy. I always look up to those authors who can write fantasy stories/novels well. I believe writing a fantasy novel is harder than writing romance.

Ai~ there's a few more that I won't add to the list because it will create a wall of text. Well anyways, the reason why I read these stories is to get an idea on "WHY" the ladies love to read them.

Let's just say that it's a unique way to see a world in the eye of a lady (if you are a man of course). When done properly, the execution of the story can capture the hearts of anyone, even male readers. I believe that no matter what gender you are, as long as you find the story interesting then it doesn't matter whether you are a guy or a gal no?

Perhaps, when I'm not too busy to write my stories, I'll once again pick a romance novel to read. Hopefully, I will find another hidden gem that will bring unexpected surprises to anyone who are lucky enough to find them.

It had been four weeks since Param started his journey on the Gateway Island, and his experience can be described in two words- Bloody hell !!!

Unlike the Forbidden Forest, Gateway Island was filled with flora and fauna, with huge trees, huge birds and huge animals. Everything here was XL size. He had to be cautious every second lest someone took a bite out of him. The animals were totally fantasy type, and looked like hybrids of multiple earth creatures.

 Like the monkey with lizard like scales, or the tiger-like creature with rhino-like armor. Even the plants were fantasy like. Light shone from the stems of some trees like an electronic circuit. It was beautiful and unreal.

The good thing was that he didn't starve, thanks to some strange fruits. Some of them were ordinary looking, while some looked more like creatures. His favorite was a white colored fruit, which tasted like jelly.

He roamed the place and at a certain distance suddenly saw shining lines, as if an explosion had occurred. The light came from the middle of two humongous peaks. The valley was square U-shaped, as if someone had cleanly cut it. The two peaks seem to create a huge door. It seemed that these two peaks created the 'gateway' of the 'Gateway Island'. 

So, he should go there, right? Wrong! Although he is a protagonist, there are huge creatures with him in the forest who would love to take a bite from his ass- and other parts of his body. 

But Param was also curious. Isn't this the scene where the protagonist obtains a cheat-like treasure? Even though it sounded stupid, he was already in a fantasy world living like Mogali. It sounded logical to take a risk. What he needed right now was magic, not logic.

So with firm steps, he began his covert mission of 'Extraction of Protagonist's Cheat'. He walked, he turned left, he turned right, he hid, and he even almost wet his pants when he saw a big wolf like animal. Fortunately, although the animals came near him, they seem to turn away at the last moment.

He arrived at the gateway, and felt really stupid. As if there would be a treasure, he thought. Days of weariness and fatigue had made him stupid. He couldn't be delusional, or else he would die.
The gateway was far from the centre of the island, and near to the coast in the direction of the Forbidden Island. Standing on one side , one could clearly see the Forbidden Island through the valley between the gateway peaks, as if it was really a gate to the Forbidden Island.

"Marvelous!" Param couldn't help but praise the beautiful scenery seen from the Gateway, the evening skylight made the Island seem as if it were a resting place for Celestials.

Suddenly, he heard growls. After days of experience, he could tell his rowdy co-habitants were near. He sprinted away from the noise, trying to find a safe place for the night, like a cave or a hollow tree. Or even an abandoned nest of a huge bird. He searched and searched, until he saw something and froze.

There was an unconscious woman with shallow cuts over her entire body. 'Am I really a protagonist ?' Param would have thought something like this usually. But he couldn't. Because the woman was lying inside a huge dent in a rock. Although she looked frail, with her slender shoulders, huge bust, and beautiful face, she was without a doubt, some kind of superhuman. 

He looked at her for a few minutes, then eventually sighed.

"Forget it. I'm truly a good person" Of course he'd have ignored if it were someone other than a beauty.

He lifted her up. She was not heavy, and he noticed that she had long ears- like an elf. 

"Truly a fantasy world" he sighed again. Carrying her, he wondered if this was a fantasy world or a wuxia world.
 
Why this question ?

 According to logic, if this is a fantasy world, then she would become his girlfriend. And if this is a wuxia world, then the woman would be a mysterious hidden expert who would pass him some secret techniques through which he would reach the apex of the world.

Yes, Param was delusional. But maybe it was necessary for him to overcome the stress of being in an unfamiliar world.

Finding a cave, he took shelter and collected tree branches to create fire. Piling the branches in the cave, he began to create fire.

"Wait! How do I create fire?"

He tried rubbing the branches enthusiastically with his entire vigor with concentration. He toiled hard and sweat crazily and worked until his hands turned numb. He rubbed and rubbed and rubbed, until blisters formed on his palms. Until finally…

If it wasn't for the luminous mosses in the cave, he'd have to spend the night in the dark.

The elf beauty was wrapped in straps of clothes which he had took from the boar Varaha's collection. That was the best he could do. After all, he was Param, not Bear Grylls.

Varaha, the self-proclaimed sovereign of the Forbidden Forest finally returned to his territory, where he first met his new buddy.

Near the rock which was technically Param's mother was another creature. It was huge and made out of Profound Energy like the boar Varaha. Its body was like a swan- a combat type swan to answer correctly. It sensed Varaha who was behind it but remained silent, and continued to stare at the rock, like gazing into a mystery.

Varaha did not speak. He knew his new buddy was special, and there was a reason why he sent him out before his other siblings could reach Param.

"So you truly want this." The swan Hansa turned around and finally spoke.

"Yes. Someone has to break this stalemate." Varaha replied her.

"There is no need for heroes." She said calmly.

"Indeed. The world can and will move on, either with or without these symbolic people. But there must be someone to succeed the legacy."

"It will only create more sorrow. Creatures can easily change. Can you guarantee that it(Param) will not fall victim to lust, greed and anger ?"

Varaha remained silent for a while then suddenly said-

"Do you remember what the Progenitor once spoke?"

"What?" Hansa furrowed her brows like a human.

" Focus on the sure actions, not on the unsure results. Because if the results are not as per your expectations, pain is unavoidable. 

He said to never consider yourself to be the cause of the results, as results do not solely depend on your efforts.

He also said to not attach yourself to inaction."

Hansa looked at her brother gently. She too remembered what the Progenitor, their Creator had said.

Finally, she spoke no more, and departed, flying into the vast skies.

It was almost dawn. Faint breathing noises could be heard from a small, remote cave in the vast Gateway Island. Two comical figures could be seen sleeping inside the cave.

 One was a ridiculously white young man around 18, draped in purple robe like clothes. The robe would've looked luxurious, if not for the many small holes all over the robe.

The other was a beautiful woman, except her entire body was covered in cloth patches of various colors. She almost looked like a dumpling, or a rainbow colored cocoon.

Param's eyes moved rapidly under his eyelids- he was dreaming.

Param was 3 years old and his father was teaching him alphabets.

"You write A like this." His father showed him and told him to write. Little Param wrote a clumsy A and showed his dad.

Slap! His father slapped him after watching his A and shouted:

"Is this how you write an A? Are you stupid?"

He showed again and told the kid to write again. After seeing the 'improper' A he slapped the kid again. Then he cursed and showed him how to write an A again. This show went on until his dad got hungry. His mother, who was silently watching the show silently served him food.

Years later, Param and his family went to Param's 3 year old nephew's house. His father became happy and played and joked around with the kid. He did not notice that Param was confused, angry, and sad.

At early dawn Param woke up. It was not because he was an early riser, rather because almost every animal in the forest was screaming and roaring after waking up.

He looked after the beauty, and after confirming she was alright headed to find breakfast.

An hour later, he returned to the cave and was shocked. There were only cloth patches lying in the cave. The beauty was gone!

"Shit" he exclaimed. Was she eaten up as a morning snack?

He looked around and saw his target. She was slowly walking away, looking around curiously like a child.

Ok so this is my first time and I've never wrote anything like this in my I've so don't judge me ok. And I know am supposed to writing something good here but guess what you've come to the wrong!! Place!! cause I'm a horrible writing can't write to say my life, the things I am interested in other than trying to write is 
mostly reading COMICS posting new stuff on my Webcomics account waiting for a new chapter of Midnight Poppyland to be released cause I'm too broke to purchase coins. I also watch a lot of Tik Tok, and can't forget my brother from another mother YouTube the crappy sometimes shitty YouTube that we all need so much to watch our life hacks and funny cat vids and also how to hack Wi-Fi passwords I don't know about you but I do that. Basically what I'm trying to say is if you do these same things I do then you know the real world we don't live in fantasy we live in reality I was gonna write something about fantasy but I changed my mind and plus it's like 2 am in the morning right so yeah. And if your like me you love with your parents not even 18 yet, oh by the way I'm 12 so I still got 8 years left before I gotta move out of my parents house and find a job 
so am gonna stop writing now cause I need some sleep and it's like almost 3am in the morning bye oh and before I go if any of you guys have a webcomics account I'm pheonix 12 and yes I know the name is not spelled correctly the original name was occupied so yeah now as a said it's almost 3 am in the morning till next am gonna go hit the sack now BYE 👋

That morning Jasper, Scarlet, and Alex turned up at school together and it became the hottest topic on campus. By noon, the trio became dubbed as the P.D.F. as a short for Prince, Doll, and Freak.

The rumours reached Scarlet's ears and she wondered why Jasper got the Freak title. She would have gladly claimed it for herself. It must be the new hairstyle that Mr Beyonce gave her that got her the Doll title.

The attention they got everywhere disrupted classes so much that the teachers allowed the trio to go for a self-study session in the library. Scarlet did a little dance in her head to celebrate ditching boring lessons. The teacher said that as long as they kept their grades up, the school would not take their attendance into consideration. The power of fame and influence was truly amazing.

This time, Venessa and Sadiya weren't as surprised when the three little school superstars made their appearance while classes were still in session. apparently, the balding school principal passed down a chain of command to treat them like precious royalty.

"Would you like to have a private room? I think we're able to block the room permanently for your use if you'd like. Do you have any preference?" the young librarian asked.

Alex blinked and Jasper shrugged, leaving the decision entirely in Scarlet's hands. Scarlet thought for a while. The elementary section of the library was on the first level and had no privacy with so many people walking in and out. Fortunately, the higher floors of the library were restricted to the bigger kids who were in college. However, they couldn't access it without a card. The atmosphere there was more silent and better for studying with many small private rooms but it didn't come with computers.

"Grandma... are we able to book any room in the library? Even those on the upper floors?"

Grandma Sadiya smiled. "Of course. We've readied your passes to. Also, I thought that you might require a private room with a computer for research purposes. Can I recommend a room that I think you would like?"

Grandma Sadiya's eyes were shining and Scarlet raised a brow. Scarlet didn't think that such a room existed in the library. Still, she wouldn't turn it down if such a room existed.

"We have a librarian office at the back but Venessa and I hardly use it. It's where returned books are shelved and new books are kept for barcoding before being introduced to the system. It's also the only place that has a side door exit to the toilet with a pantry that you can have snacks in."

"Sounds like a good deal," Scarlet admitted. "Is that even allowed?"

Sadiya rolled her eyes and snorted. "I'm the head librarian. If anyone has an issue they can take it up with me... I'll shove my foot so far up thei-"

"Don't say such things! The baby can hear you!" Venessa chided and the head librarian piped down again while grumbling.

Scarlet snickered while Alex looked scandalised by Grandma Sadiya's foul language. The matter was quickly settled and all three children were given special access cards before they were shown to the office. Scarlet had some difficulty reaching the card scanner and had to jump to tap the card. Alex thought that it was adorable but kept the comment to herself. Jasper said something about Scarlet's size and was given a merciless kick to the shin. She didn't want to mess with the school Doll no matter how cute she thought Scarlet was.

After getting cosy with milo and biscuits, the trio was finally given some privacy. Scarlet took five minutes to clean the plate off food while the ancient-looking bulky computer whirred to life. It was very slow, but it did the job. Scarlet tapped her fingers impatiently while the screen loaded and Alex wondered what the fuss was all about. Jasper didn't care so much and started flipping through a new book he picked out from the neatly stacked cardboard boxes.

A few minutes later after many rapid clicks and tapping on the keyboard, Scarlet let out a triumph cry.

"Ok, now we can commence our secret meeting. In today's meeting, we shall decide on a team name and the plan to become independent financially and socially. For starters, I will let you know who I truly am."

Jasper put the book down, interested in what the odd girl had to say for herself. Alex was confused but went with the flow. Scarlet showed them a very dull looking weblog page and signed in. neither of them recognised what that was but from the background stats, Scarlet had a few hundred subscribers. That was a rather good pool of followers for someone so young. They were more surprised when Scarlet admitted that she hasn't started the Human Observation Journal too long ago.

"Yes, it is I - Pirate S. the captain of this blog. As you can see, I think I have a flair for writing so the first part of the Grand Plan towards freedom would be to publish a book because books make a lot of money right?"

Jasper and Alex shared a look. Was Scarlet serious?

"I don't know how to write books, I can't even do a proper essay..." Jasper admitted. While he excelled without effort for Math and Science, the same could not be said for language.

Alex shook her head when Scarlet looked at her. "I don't know anything about writing books. Ah! I could help you draw the cover if you'd like. I've been secretly watching videos about drawing using a software and I find it fascinating."

"We only have one computer here and it isn't going to work very well for drawing," Jasper pointed out.

Alex smiled brightly. "Don't worry about it, I'll just ask for a laptop from my father. He should have many spares lying around in the company, it shouldn't be difficult for him to get a hold of one for me."

Jasper and Scarlet looked at Alex with raised brows although the boy's eyebrows were hidden beneath his bangs. For all the shortcomings Alex had, being rich was probably a redeeming feature in a group like theirs.

"That's actually going to help us a lot... thank you Alex!" Scarlet smiled plastically but Alex thought it was the sincerest thing in the world and blurted out that they should feel free to request more things from her if she could be of any help.

"How about packed meals?" Jasper suggested. "That way we won't need to waste time queuing in the cafeteria for food. I don't think the librarians will mind if we eat there as long as we don't make too much of a mess..."

Scarlet took out a foolscap pad and pencil case from her bag. She wrote in big letters at the top of the page things that they required. Jasper and Alex threw in ideas that seemed great at first but a little more ridiculous after ten minutes when Alex suggested bringing a spare luxurious Italian leather sofa from one of her guest rooms for sitting comfort.

"Ok, let's take it slow and stop for now... we're only starting to make a plan so that I can convince your mother. Let's start thinking about the Team name so that we can publish the book."

"I'm not going to be of much help here," Jasper pointed out and Scarlet shook her head before pointing the pencil in his direction. "You're going to help us with research and tutor us before the exams. Although we're given special privileges, I don't think Mrs Wilde will be pleased if it starts affecting our grades."

The boy shrugged. "I guess I can do that then. How about using the name the school gave us? P.D.F.?"

Scarlet thought about it and frowned. "Sounds too geeky. besides, Prince, Doll & Freak sounds like a very random author name. Nobody will take the story seriously..."

"What is the story you're going to write?" Alex asked.

Scarlet grinned. "I'm going to write about a super-being who lost his memories and goes on an adventure to find out who he truly is. I haven't decided on the title yet..."

"I still think I like P.D.F. because it represents the three of us... how about keeping it but changing the initials to something like Pretty Dancing Fairy?"

Scarlet cringed internally at Alex's naming sense and Jasper coughed to disguise his laugh. That kind of name with the storyline didn't match.

"I think we need something more suited for the story's genre... how about something like Permanent Discovery Fantasy?"

Scarlet frowned. "Sounds too much of a mouthful. Permanent Fantasy?"

Alex shook her head. "We don't want this to just be a fantasy, do we? Permanent... Freedom?"

While it sounded close to what they wanted, Permanent Freedom sounded odd. "Freedom always comes at a cost," Jasper reminded them.

"Freedom and cost huh..." Scarlet sighed and reflected on the events that happened yesterday. While the other two children were thinking hard, an idea hit Alex hard and she clapped her hands with excitement.

"Frost! It's short for the phrase 'Freedom comes at a cost'! Permanent Frost, how does that sound now? It's like our own secret code too..."

Jasper patted Alex's head. "That's a good one, I like it. What about you?" he asked Scarlet who was nodding too.

"It's actually really good. Who knew that you had it in you?"

Alex frowned. "What's that supposed to mean?"

"Nothing," came the innocent reply and Scarlet wrote down Permanent Frost on the paper.

Finally, they were truly a team.

I'm really sorry if the novel ended the way as it is. However, I still hope that you enjoyed reading this story.

How to save a star was intended to be my 'first' novel and not a short story. I was pretty determined to even write a trilogy for it but I just can't continue writing this when I feel like much of the plot was unrealistic and many parts were so cringe-worthy that I wanted to hang myself. In the end, I decided to end this story and rewrite it back to square one. As of publishing this short story, I have two projects at hand that I really wanted to publish. First, Dying Stars, which is the complete rework of this story. I have written a detailed outline of the story, the characters, and their history so I'm hoping that Dying Stars will be the final edition of this story that I really wanted to write, given that this story had already been recycled thrice.  Second is a secret, but it's an ongoing fantasy series that I write under a different pen name and it's receiving a relatively good feedback.

We all have a little gallery of photographic memories inside our hearts. An exhibit of things we could never forget through our short moments in time. Some were so good, we held it like they were the best part of our lives while some were things we desperately ran away from － they hunted us, and killed our hopes.
The beginning of my life ended on my tenth birthday, the day when my childhood was stolen away from me. I longed to run away from that nightmare that held me tightly in my neck and made helpless under its grasp.
Going to college had become my final chance to run away. On my seventeenth birthday, after enrolling at a university, my life took another shift. I met a man who showed me the glimmer of hope I always wanted to see. And this was our story. A narration of first love, bittersweet and worthwhile.

Well tomorrow is my first day of sophomore year . 
Am I excited?

Because I know just how it will be , so there's nothing interesting.
Well yesterday my parents and I just went to the book fare and my dad bought me  "Romeo and Juliet" even though I am not into romance .
I am just more of a fantasy , sci-fi lover . "Percy Jackson "and "Harry Potter", "Maze runner", I know all of them .
My dad says that sophomore year might be a chance to win over someone's heart . I don't think so . So he said that "Romeo And  Juliet" would be a good book to start with but I eventually fell asleep while reading the book and when I woke up I decided to write to you . 

It's kind of amazing to think that I am writing to someone who doesn't know me . I really love writing to you and I hope you love knowing my life too , though it's not too good but hey! I am just trying to make my life work . 
Worthless to say , I don't know why but I am counting on this year . You know there's this type of feeling when you give up your hopes but you still feel like something's going to happen, something interesting. Well , that's kind of a feeling I am having now.
But GUT FEELINGS ARE NOT ALWAYS TRUE.
So let's see what happens tomorrow. I promise I will write you after I come back from school .
