I am just a reader. And while I have 12 years’ worth of reading light novels, mangas and fantasy books, I still lack the endurance and devotion to truly write something I would put my heart into, which would be more than just a silly small thing with 10 chapters. 

Yet I became capable of finding faults within other novels so much that I can no longer stop myself from putting it somewhere. Especially because sometimes those faults become the reason I can’t read my favorite novel anymore. It went downhill just too much. 

So this is my collection of the aspects and tips on how to make your writing a better quality.

If anyone is asking why I never wrote a message or chapter I we'll explain why. 

Remember when I said I live alone and I got hurt then sick. Well at that time I had to skip my class to recover at home but by the time I recovered I had so much work and my deadline was coming up soon, so I studied alone working like a mad man I passed my classes so me and other people get along holiday but because of all that work (big as 2 dictionary books) 

My reason because I was far behind from classes I missed when I was younger so I had to do other classes at the same time but by the time I finished I felt exhausted mentally and physically so on my spare time I was just relaxing my mind and body I have recovered but I was worried what to write so i thought of an idea why don't I just make a new light novel for practice and to write to my hearts content without worrying, but my other thought (but what do I write?) then it hit me I remember a story I was making when I was even younger 
(was on paper) I could write about that, thus that's how I came to a new novel I write and writing as I go on now. 

(Sigh) I'm sorry if you don't believe me but that's the truth. I'm explaining while trying to keep the story short about why the writer (me) and what's happening with my new idea for future updates.

Well… We've finally come to the end of Spirit Immortal. 

Hehe, I bet you guys didn't see it coming right? The cover of the book was actually the ending scene of the entire story! Haha, I did well to keep it under wraps for the two years I've been writing this story! Finally, I get to share it all with you!

For those that had stuck with me for the near two years, I've been posting Spirit Immortal… It's been quite the hell of a ride. There were many days where I wanted to quit writing this story and there were many times where I just wanted to say: "Fuck it! Let me just leave everything and just tell you the outline of Spirit Immortal straight up!" However, because of you guys, I gritted my teeth and completed the story. 

So… Before I begin the FINAL Author's Thoughts of Spirit Immortal, I want to give a huge thank you for all who supported me. Especially my Patrons, who had actually invested money into Spirit Immortal even though you guys didn't have to. There are some of you who have invested hundreds of dollars to support this project of mine and I don't know how else I could repay you for your continued support... 

Honestly, I lack the words to describe my gratitude, so I can only say this…

Thank you all for being the rock in my life, guiding me to complete the story that I dreamed about so many years back…

Alright, enough of the emotional stuff! Let's get to the real meat of the Author's Thoughts. This will be my longest Author's Thoughts yet so if you lack the time, you really don't have to read it all. However, for those that had read Spirit Immortal all the way, I'm sure that you'll find it all very interesting.

Let me divide it into sections first, just to keep me on track. Firstly, I'll be discussing the overall story of Spirit Immortal. How I conceived it from a theory that I had, the inspirations I took and ultimately… The ending that I'm sure only a percentage of you saw coming.

Secondly, I'll be talking about the challenges I had writing Spirit Immortal. My journey from a teenager in university that had no clue about how to write, to the man that I am now. The challenges that a new author in the web novel genre will come to face and hopefully, it'll teach any of you aspiring authors to not repeat the same mistakes that I'd made.

Thirdly, I'll be writing about the things that I would have done differently (ie, the things that I would want to do in future when writing future stories). Also, the lessons learnt that I wish to impart on my future self, as well as any budding authors reading this. 

Finally… I'm going to talk about my future works and how I'll be approaching writing web novels in the future.

It's going to be a long ride since I'll be trying to condense two years worth of experience into one document, so please bear with me.

Story of Spirit Immortal
As many of you know, I am a fan of Wuxia/Xianxia novels. They have played an integral part of my teenage life, giving me content to binge through while I rode through my schooling years. By now, you should be familiar with how I got into Wuxia/Xianxia, so I'll skip the long introduction and get to the reason why I imagined Spirit Immortal as a Wuxia.

I had a different take about Immortality than the other novels.

It was really as simple as that. In traditional novels, like Coiling Dragon or Doulou Dalu, the ultimate goal for the protagonist was to become an Immortal. Some even have realms above the Immortal Realm and they continually become stronger until they reach Godhood. It's a tale that we've all read before. However, my thoughts about Immortality are a little different.

I don't believe that Eternal Life exists. Or at the very least, not in the way Wuxia/Xianxia novels portray it. Let me explain.

What does Immortal mean? A literal definition means, not mortal. So, before we get to that, let's define what mortal means first. A mortal is any living thing that exists in reality, doing their best to continue their ultimate goal… To live. See, it doesn't matter if you are a human or a dog, a tree or a pig. We're all living creatures fighting against our final destination… death. As much as we don't like to admit it, all living things will die one day. That's what makes them 'living' in the first place. We have immune systems to protect against viruses. Possess various traits that will help us survive in our reality. Legs to run, arms to hunt, mouths to eat, sexual organs to reproduce…

All of these attributes are what makes us mortal. Which means that the desires that come from these attributes are also mortal desires. We hunger to live. We lust to reproduce and further on our genetic lineage. We anger to pump ourselves into action to defend our survival. Every single emotion that humans feel are linked to one main thing… To live. Even trees, which are effectively mortal, respond to changes and adapt to live. 

So what happens when you turn Immortal? All of our survival instincts, all of our desires that make us mortal… It all goes away. 

We will no longer want to do anything because we've already lost our most primal need to survive. Hunger becomes redundant since you won't die. Sexual desires disappear since there's no need for you to reproduce anymore. Feelings of anger, sadness, anxiety, fear… All of them would be stripped bare of any mortal. 

Once we become 'Immortal' we cease being 'Mortal'. Sounds stupid to say out loud, but in most cultivation novels, the protagonist becomes Immortal but still acts as a Mortal. Desiring to grow stronger even though he/she has obtained eternal life. Lusting over new girls in the new realm. Feeling emotions that no Immortal should have… All of these got me wondering…

How could I make a story about an Immortal with this logic that I have?

And then it hit me… The journey.

I have to make a journey tale, one where the protagonist starts from nothing and obtains everything that he'd ever thought possible. And it's not like the journey was perfect. Shin lost people on the way. Learned lessons from a myriad of characters. Took on the journey of life to become the 'perfect hero' that was slated to become the next 'Immortal.' And at the end of it all… He'll realise that Immortality was just a lie made up by humans to feel better about his mortality. 

All humans live. All humans die. In the end, what really matters is the journey that we all take while we're living. It doesn't matter if you become a successful billionaire or a struggling pauper. It doesn't matter if you get to live your dreams or be a recluse that loves to watch shows all day. As long as you're satisfied with your life's journey. That's all that matters.

At least, that was what I was trying to convey in Spirit Immortal.

Remember when I said that I wanted to finish this story because I wanted all of you to see my ending? The ending that I created was to show what my thoughts were about mortality. The life of a mortal, the journey that said mortal would take and finally… The end that no one can escape from. Spirit Immortal isn't a story about Immortality like other Wuxias. It's a story about… Mortality.

I'll be the first to admit. I lost control over the story of Spirit Immortal halfway through writing it. The original storyboard was for Shin to have a single drive (Ariel's resurrection) to carry him all the way to the ending. The ending that would reveal that the Immortal Realm doesn't exist and they were all cogs in a wheel to power the World Spirit. However, as I wrote more settings, introduced more characters, the storyline became more convoluted.

I'm an author that doesn't like to keep things rigid. As I keep adding new things into the story, it would morph whatever narrative I'm trying to write. Kanari's introduction as the secondary love interest was the major turning point for Spirit Immortal as well. I'd initially thought of Kanari as a friend character that was ultimately there only to fuel Shin's growth and to eventually meet Ariel. However, as I'd thought about it… Would Shin really behave that way when a beauty and good-hearted person like Kanari was chasing him? Was love truly eternal and could Shin only be single-minded about one person till the very end.

Then there were more realistic scenarios that I could think of which broke Shin's motivations. Even if Yggdrasil was real and Shin resurrected Ariel, he would still be a mature adult while Ariel would be a fifteen-year-old girl. Was that really realistic for Shin to ignore Kanari, a beautiful woman who had been chasing him when he was a hormonal youth, for a future with an uncertain Ariel.

And finally, I wanted to put in the family aspect into Shin's cultivation life. Family was an important aspect of all human beings. It's what fuels our evolution as a race and what drives us to live yet another day. So, Shin has to have a family before he ascends. So that he could make the final decision that he made at the end…

To not return to Earth and warn people that Immortality was a choice that Shin had to make. The world needs to have this cycle. Cultivators trying to ascend to Immortality, only to become energy for the new generation to rise up. That completes the evolution cycle of the Spirit Immortal world and Shin can only understand that if he has children of his own.

I've hidden many clues throughout the early books about the true nature of the Immortal Realm as well. Remember in Book 1 when I said the Spirit Immortals "burst into energy?" Also, in Book 2, the Mushinkei, the Frie Clan's house in Chilyoja Waypoint, means "Godless" in Japanese. And who could forget the easiest clue that I gave you all? Dexsot Teinost? Literally you can rearrange the words to form "It does not exist." Yes, yes. Very similar to the Harry Potter one with Voldermolt, but still! None of you got it! I even made it clear that I like scrambling words around with the Frie and Awter Clan all the way back in Book 1! 

Challenges
The challenges of being a writer, particularly an online one, is a completely foreign concept to me when I first started writing. I began to write because of my love of it and I'd thought that it would be easy. There are literally thousands of stories online and they each had their own unique flair. Some of them were terrible, some of them were masterpieces. And well… I got inspired by both types.

The masterpieces made me fall in love with stories. The shit stories made me realise… Anyone could write. Particularly online when there were no gatekeepers like traditional books. So even someone like me, who has bad English and horrendous storytelling skills can actually write something to the masses. 

Thinking back, I really was young and naive.

The most challenging part of being a novelist isn't the lack of time, which believe me, I was always swamped. It wasn't even the social toll that it takes. I had to give up many social events or at least plan ahead many weeks because I stuck to this daily schedule of releasing a chapter a day. 

The most challenging part of being a novelist is… Writer fatigue. 

There were so many days that I just couldn't type a single word. I didn't know how to pen my story. I didn't know how to write my settings. I didn't want to write anything because of how burnt out I was… I lost all my love for Spirit Immortal after consistently writing about it for two years. I couldn't bring myself to the keyboard, distracting myself with youtube videos and other entertainment means.

I would miss the days where my fingers would dance on the keyboard. I remember there was once I wrote a thousand words in an hour, and ten thousand words in a day. However, at my lowest point of my writer's fatigue. I couldn't even write a thousand words a day. 

That's why as the story neared its end, the quality kept dropping. I couldn't bring myself to write two thousand words a day, which was the limit I placed on myself and could only come down to a thousand words. It was heart-wrenching, knowing that I was responsible for the dip in quality in Spirit Immortal, the story that all of you readers spent your valuable time to read. 

I could spin a thousand excuses. Not enough time to write. Meeting up with my friends. Real-life obligations. Real-life work comes first. However, all in all, the main reason why I couldn't write… It's because I was tired. I was falling out of love with Spirit Immortal, even though it was the story that I dreamt into reality. I wanted to keep writing, but the author inside of me didn't exist in the shape that he used to be in.

BUT! I'm glad I faced all of those challenges, particularly with my first long-form novel. I now know what challenges lie ahead of me and I know what I must do from now on. To not just grow as an author, but as a person as well. 

Lessons learnt
Major lesson learnt… Spend more time storyboarding, and less time writing. A chapter a day is all well and good, but if the quality is shit, why bother? So I decided from here on out. I will no longer be releasing daily chapters. Maybe I'll be releasing three or four chapters a week, or even less. I can't tell you for sure right now. This is to prevent burning out once again.

Writing is not equal to authoring. I'd thought that as long as I crafted a good story, I could be a good writer. However, I now know that I'm shit at writing. My English is bad, and my execution is subpar at best. So I will be learning more from other novels to hopefully bolster up my bad writing skills. I will keep evolving, or at least, that's my hope. I will come back a better writer that could flawlessly execute the marvellous stories that I crafted in my head.

The Future of Linodo
Easy. I'm not quitting just because I'd finished Spirit Immortal. I will be continuing my second story, "When the Lilyflower Blooms..." while writing my new standalone book which I had been putting off for the longest time. I won't be returning to Wuxia/Xianxia books because I realise I'm not cut out for this genre. I can't write the 1000-2000 chapters that the undying Chinese Authors can. I can only go for so long before I burn out. 

So Lilyflower will be my comeback in an alternate genre, magical reality. I plan to write Lilyflower for about 100-200 chapters, 300 max. I don't want to keep my story never-ending and open-ended. I just want to make sure that the journey is fun for all of you. 

I won't be writing a Spirit Immortal sequel or any short stories from here on out. If I want to move on, I have to close this chapter called 'Spirit Immortal' from my life. If you guys want, you can privately message me about the theories of Spirit Immortal and I'll be sure to discuss anything that you want. However, for the most part, my creativity will now be focused on Lilyflower and the other stories that I have conceived thus far.

So yeah… That's it for Spirit Immortal! I hope you've enjoyed these two years as much as I did. No matter what I say about this story, no matter how much time I've lost writing this and spending my heart's emotions on it… Spirit Immortal will always be a part of me. It would be a story that I would return to every once in a while to laugh at my young mind and enjoy thinking about forever after.

Over a million years ago, the first human contracted with the first Spirit. Ever since then, Spirit use has become commonplace. Humans used Spirits to carry items and start fires. In the present day, the Frie Clan was once a great clan of the Himmel empire. However, a devastating battle ten years ago crippled the clan and their numbers dwindled. To make up for their loss, the upper echelons decided to adopt young orphans and nurture them to become a future pillar of the weakened clan. Shin was one of those orphans.

Zenith: I know. But not everyone is as great as you show them to be. They learn from their previous works While we are still struggling to finish one.

Xandarx: Yeah, I know.

Zenith: They move on and get better that's where the difference lies. If you see any CN author who made it big, you can see that they had their share of experience before getting there, or for that matter, any author in the Western world.

Murakami: Not necessarily publishing houses only accept works they think will sell.

Zenith: The ones who get it big the first time are rare.

Murakami: So you might not see how they built up to their debut novel. Authors can have 15-20 scrapped novels b4 they debut, and the public don't get to read a single one.

Reili: Yikes.

Xandarx: Yeah.

Zenith: That doesn't make the author lose his experience of writing those scrapped novels that's the point I was making.

Murakami: But it also means that it's more like hit and miss.

Reili: True because they don't get the feedback from fans.

Murakami: They get limited feedback from an agent/editor who doesn't want to read their work.

Zenith: Yeah, but it surely is better than nothing.

Murakami: And they're left with a bunch of abstract and vague advice that they have no idea how to implement.

Reili: If they don't enjoy it, the feedback won't be as insightful.

Zenith: They can learn from their mistakes from reading their own works.

Reili: Well…

Zenith: If possible, from platforms.

Murakami: If they knew how to do that they'd fix it and publish it.

Reili: It would make the process easier if someone who enjoys the book to give them better feedback.

Zenith: It's called rewriting from scratch, and it takes a tonne of time if the author feels more interested in some other idea of his, he would do that.

Reili: I suppose so since the author being inspired will bring his book along.

VKBoy: If the ones giving review are professional editors, then they don't necessarily have to have read your work with immersion because their suggestions will still likely cover the basic flaws that amateurish writers usually make.

Reili: Point taken.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: @VKBoy if they spot those errors they'll put down the manuscript after the first page

Reili: Then again, its a little bit like movie critics. They may hate the movie, but fans love it.

Zenith: Yeah.

Murakami: And then send a reply saying, "Don't send in another manuscript until you learn how to write properly."

Zenith: Professionals in the said field prefer not taking risks. Especially in movies, but books, you can keep trying.

VKBoy: Well, if there are errors in the first page itself, that's a whole different thing, lol.

Reili: True.

Murakami: No, but a good editor can tell the writing quality from just the first page even if you've crafted it perfectly, they can just tell that the rest will be shit.

Reili: You have to also take into account of one punch man. The original comic looks terrible, but the redraw made it amazing.

Zenith: That's smartness of the creator.

VKBoy: Well, in one punch man's case, it got attention from the companies after it got popular in the online communities.

Reili: So a persons writing and grammar may be terrible, but with a little editing, the story itself could be amazing.

Zenith: You can let the editor do the Shi*t and focus on your story, It works.

Overlord Venus: Yeah, solo leveling is a good example. The story is bland.

Reili: But it would also help if the author re-reads the edit to make sure the essence of their story is still there.

HavenlyJeep: Essence and core backbone.

Zenith: @Reili It depends on what the author wants, and how much work he is willing to put in.

Reili: @Zenith true.

VKBoy: Of course, some editors just butcher the style of the author.

Reili: Same but honestly I just use Grammarly and the read aloud function in word to make sure the chapter makes sense.

Zenith: You can learn about writing, grammar, editing if you truly want. It is just the question of, would you?

Reili: I'm more into thinking up ideas and writing them than editing.

VKBoy: Editing is also writing, mate. Rewriting is where real writing lies.

Zenith: It's a skill in writing a story, but your choice.

Reili: Point taken.

Murakami: You can't be a writer without being an editor.

Zenith: Editing it yourself can help you keep the heart of the story.

Reili: That being said, the more I write, the better my basic grammar became.

Zenith: You will keep the feels right.

Reili: Editing is now part of the process.

Zenith: And not make it just sound or look better, you give what the story wants
And that is a great thing.

Reili: Creative freedom.

Zenith: I want to learn grammar and revise what I learned.

VKBoy: @Zenith Learning grammar will take years, so take it slow and steady. That way, memories stick with you for longer times.

Reili: I do read mtl sometimes since I can't wait for chaps, but then I find myself reading in broken English and must stop.

Murakami: I'd like to correct that statement VKBoy. Learning grammar is easy
learning "usage" is hard.

VKBoy: lol, if you read mtl, your IQ drops. Believe me, this can affect a person's writing skill in the long run.

Reili: Definitely, which is why I stopped.

Author's Notes

I'm sure you've read this a few times in the previous chapters, but I had been reading MTL chapters for the past few years. I usually read "Completed" stories, and most of them are around 2-4k chapters each. Of course, I read the translated chapters first. After I reach the latest translated chapter, I will immediately jump to *cough* Google Translate.

Yeah~ I know. Reading chapters through Google Translate was the most…epic mistake I did in the past. I've finished World Defying Dan God, Battle Through the Heavens uhh…and a few more novels using Google Translate.

In the later years, I discovered lnmtl.com, which gave me a better translation (at least the names of the characters are not written like Cloud Che instead of Yun Che (Against the Gods). 

To be perfectly honest, If I didn't start writing, I would have continued to read these machine translated chapters even now. Reading MTL works if English is not your first language.

This is something that those with English as their main language will scoff at. However, for those who just want to read. As in reading something without worrying about anything else, then they won't care even if it's a machine translated chapter. As long as they will be able to read the NEXT chapter, then it's all good.

This is also the reason why I admire translators. If not for them, these stories that we are not aware of will not be able to grace us with their presence. I would like to thank the translators of my favorite novels like Lord of Mysteries, Release that Witch, Against the Gods, Cultivation Chatgroup, Second Coming of Avarice, and so many other titles that I won't be able to list here.

To my beloved readers, if there will come a time when you feel like writing a story of your own and you're reading machine translated chapters, please stop now. I'm saying this for your own good. 

I understand how you feel. Believe me I do, but for the sake of the story you're going to write in the future, heed my advice. Stop now, while you still have the chance. Learning how to write from scratch with broken English is a painful process.

Then again, if you find an editor who is a masochist, consider yourself lucky. Let them clean up your mess for you, so you can focus on writing your story, and learn the art of writing while you write.

There are a lot of people who have the common misconception that story is no good if it uses existing tropes and generic plots genre savvy readers are so used to seeing by now.

If people were to be more self-aware, then they would figure out that most popular works are basically re-skinned versions of our favourite overall narratives. Whether it is a quest to save the world or a more personal story, cliches are bound to happen.

However, there is a difference between good cliches and bad ones. The bad ones tend to be an observation of something that is 'tsundere' and then thinking it's totally reasonable to make a character of this character archetype without considering how it fits in with your story. The 'cute girl warming up to you, the main character' is fantasy all otakus fall into once in a while and is something they'd like to read in their fiction. What they don't want is cardboard box with no humanity that turns them this way.

The 'over tv trope analysis' effect happens when you know about a trope but don't seem to understand that it can't be easily added to a story just because you know it exists. Take the Toradora anime as an example: The heroine of the series isn't violent and abrasive because 'that is her archetype', but because there are multiple facets to her life which ended up shaping her to fit that archetype.

Although tropes themselves are like gears in a story that keep the plot moving, the only way to truly write a good story is through 'translating' them to fit the setting and theme of the story your writing.

If you can't add a trope in a way that influences your reader's feelings in one way or another, then it's better not to add it in the first place. After all, no one wants to read an abbreviation of a trope no matter how many creative gimmicks you add on top of it.

Think of Isekai as an example. Though it's become a trend in the community to send people to another world just to replicate how other authors create a sense of immersion for their readers using it. There is a massive difference between the likes of 'In Another World With My Smartphone' and 'Re:Zero In Another World'. The former only using the barebones skeleton of the trope while the latter completely taking advantage of everything the trope entails through adding an element of realism to the story.

The whole reason Natsuki Subaru is well remembered isn't because he's the perfect protagonist but because the writer of the story fully utilised everything about the trope instead of using it just for superficial immersion from a 'normal human from Earth' being transported into a fantasy world.

There is a feeling of 'perfection' added into the story not because it is the perfect story, but because the tropes it added were 'perfectly utilised' to tell the story the Author wanted to tell. Some could say a story isn't fully immersive due to lack of specific explanations and whatnot. However, they miss the point and end up not realising that a good story is one that influences the reader in specific way rather than trying to eat more than it can chew.

Take Steins/Gate as an example: If you were to ask the question of why a satellite that crashed into a building not investigated by the authorities as soon as it happened, then the rest of this thrilling time-travel story falls apart. Contrarily, by focusing more on characters instead, it was able to make the people watching the Anime ignore this plot hole to the point everyone considers it a masterpiece (unlike its dumpster fire of a sequel that was badly written).

Intrigue could be the result of contrived situations such as very specific 'coincidences' happening just for the sake of moving the plot. This may sound bad to do on paper, but it actually helps a lot in making a story more immersive if foreshadowing is done correctly. Other than that, you could say that any story has a certain level of contrivances in it if you looked at it deep enough... My point from saying all this is that contrivances are fine if it is character driven. As long as you know what you are trying to write and have the guts to make artistic choices with how much information you'd keep back or tell the readers, then you'll do great as a writer.

I brought this up many times, but I myself once write an Isekai and purposefully left out the main character's name, looks, and even where on Earth he lived before reincarnating into another world. It was an artistic choice no one understood at first but as they read more of it, the fact that I chose to put emphasis on the most defining traits of his past life while only adding how it changed his decision making skills in his second life did wonders later on.

Let this be a lesson to you all. Even 'Art' can't be about everything. The tools and colours you use is what will define it once your done. No story is liked by all audiences, but that doesn't mean your own story won't be liked if you don't follow 'trends'.

In fact, it's the opposite. The more you try to appeal to everyone, the more generic your story will become. It's best to know what your trying to write, have faith, and only edit once many chapters are done since it is impossible to see if your story is good or not unless you write ten chapters or more.

Well, that's all I got. My point is stop having anxiety attacks and write with a vision in mind before trying to adapt to your audience. Be flexible, but not cowardly, as you NEED to have you own opinions.

This is a story I worked on ages ago that has been refined and edited by adding foreshadowing to events while also simplifying the power system better than before. This story can be considered a prequel to An Adventure Beyond Greatness as it takes place years prior to the events of that story.

Short Synopsis:
After retiring from the battlefield, my life became empty and lifeless. The regrets of my past haunt me in my sleep. Then a change occurred, a King from another world summoned me to fight for his kingdom, but I died even before I could give him my answer. Now, after a fake God allowed me to reincarnate (albeit imperfectly) with my memories intact, into a world filled with magic and swords.

Long Synopsis:
This is about a flawed protagonist who only knew to rely on others and not socialise who gets a second chance to change himself in order to live the life he aimed for in his past life. The narrator isn’t exactly trustworthy since it is purely in his bias perspective while other perspectives given by others fill in the blanks that he either leaves out or twists to suit the situation.

The story itself can be considered a parody of Isekai’s classic tropes which are given a sense of reality as time goes by. As there exists no ‘Demon Lord’, there is also no black and white, only characters opinions and counter-opinions throughout the story.

I was writing a chapter, and it was half done, but I opened a browser to research something and ended up reading comments. (You know how that happens. Like you reading about advanced robots, but you ended up looking for Apocalypse novels.)

Many people want me to continue the business arc, and I can't say I am not tempted.

So I decided to take a poll. I write comments and after day whichever has more like, I will write in that direction.

I am ready for challenges too if anyone wants to suggest something in the novel, let me know and I will try to write that as well.

American Arc:
Harry will get revenge for Petunia and Sara. 
This arc will be a little slow and more detailed for magic and changes the world compares to the original.
Meanwhile preparing for his plan, he will go to America as part of his bigger plan.

Hogwarts arc:
It will be faster than the previous one and less detailed. But of course it will cover the story, so missing details will be used as a conversation. For example, on the train Harry and Ron will talk about those things, that way, no important point will be missed, but less detailed.
There are also a few added stories, but that will come along in both arcs.


This way the story will develop. I try to write without giving away big spoilers.

I am inclined toward the American arc because that way my early preparation won't be wasted, but currently, I am writing a chapter for the Hogwarts arc.(i know it's really laughable)

Like whichever arc you want me to write. I hope our silent Wizards/Witches come forward this one to give your opinion.

Naturally, it wasn't as easy as that. Su Yan sat in front of his notebook, hands on his keyboard, and stared at the blank page in front of him. Damn. Was this what people called having writer's block?
"Ugh. I can't believe it!" Su Yan pushed his notebook away, propped his elbows up on the table and burrowed his face in his hands.
Shit. He had never before experienced something like this. Sure, there had been times where he didn't know how to continue with one of his stories but that had always been when he was somewhere in the middle with several directions in front of him in which the story could develop. Most of the time, he just had to reread the last few chapters and he would know what to do. In the worst case, he'd just take a look at the comments and see if he found some inspiration there.
But this time, there were no previous chapters and certainly no readers. He only had two characters and a task.
When Nie Chang returned half an hour later with two bowls of Tu Dou Si he found Su Yan pouting in front of a text editor that was still completely empty. Nie Chang wisely refrained from commenting and just placed the bowls onto the table.
"I hope you'll like it. You know I'm not that good at cooking."
Su Yan turned to face him, his expression extremely sad. "It's better not to know how to cook than not knowing how to write."
"Hah …" Nie Chang sighed, took the notebook and closed it before putting it aside. "Eat a bit first. You've had a long day yesterday and just came back from the hospital. It's normal you can't come up with anything."
"I never had problems coming up with something. Even after working for fourteen hours straight."
"You should still eat first. I'm sure you'll come up with something after that." He picked up the bowl and pushed it into Su Yan's hands.
Su Yan stared at the bowl while he continued to pout. He just couldn't believe it. He had worked so much at the railroad station that he hadn't had time to write for months. Now he had a new job and enough time but didn't know what to write. This was such a joke!
Nie Chang sighed again, took the chopsticks and picked up some food for Su Yan. "Here. Eat."
Su Yan shook his head. He really didn't want to eat now.
"Aiya, come on. It was a lot of effort to make this for you. Here, take a bite for me." The chopsticks came closer.
With the food directly in front of his nose, Su Yan couldn't ignore it any longer. He leaned forward and let Nie Chang feed him. His expression while chewing was stormy, though.
"I practiced so much but it seems like I still can't cook."
Su Yan shook his head and finally picked up his own chopsticks and started to wolf down the food. Actually, comfort eating wasn't bad either. "It's good. I'm just …" He sniffled and looked at Nie Chang pitifully. "Why is writing so hard?"
Nie Chang started eating, too, and pondered. "Then what exactly is your problem right now?"
"I just don't know what to write!"
"Then how did you know when you were writing your other stories?"
Su Yan paused. "I … I just wrote what came to mind." He pouted again. "But I can't do that now. The system wants me to write a short story and I have to use the characters I crafted previously. Well, I guess it wouldn't be so bad if I could write what I want but on top of that, it has to be a romantic encounter. How do you write a romantic encounter for two cultivators? Shouldn't they be … I don't know … cultivating instead? How would they fall in love? Argh." He put the bowl back onto the table and flopped onto the couch, using Nie Chang's lap as a pillow. "I'm just bad at romance."
Nie Chang barely held back from grinning. "Maybe that's because you're lacking experience."
"Mn?" Su Yan looked up.
"Well, you've always been single until today."
"That's true." Su Yan reached up and grabbed Nie Chang's collar. "So it's your fault! You have to help me!"
"Then what do you want me to do?"
"Tell me how you fell in love with me."
"Oh." Nie Chang lifted his brows. "I'm not sure if it's such a good idea. You'll probably say it doesn't make a good story."
"Well, it isn't a story anyway." Su Yan sat up again and slid closer, hugging Nie Chang's arm. "Come on, tell me! I need some inspiration."
Nie Chang smiled wryly. It was better he confessed now. He wouldn't be able to evade anyway. Su Yan wasn't one to give up when something was able to hold his attention.
"There really isn't much to say. It was … back in school."
"Hah?" Su Yan's eyes went wide. "You fell in love with me while we were in school and you never told me?"
"Mn."
"Why?"
"I thought you'd be able to figure it out on your own. At least I thought so for the first two or three years. When you still hadn't managed to do so by the fourth year I also knew I had to do something. I hinted and hinted at it but you never got it. I can't believe you really needed until now."
"I …" Su Yan turned away. "It's not my fault. You … You should have been more obvious."
Nie Chang chuckled, leaned forward and put his chin on Su Yan's shoulder. "Even more obvious? Then you'd have said I'm shameless."
"How is that shameless?!"
"Well, if hugging you each day and stealing kisses isn't obvious enough, then I probably would have needed to strip the two of us and push you down onto the bed."
Su Yan blushed. "You —" He wanted to say Nie Chang was shameless but that would be like admitting that he was right. Thus, he shot to his feet and grabbed his notebook instead. "I'm suddenly inspired." Then, he ran off into the kitchen, leaving a smirking Nie Chang behind.

Su Yan always wanted to be an author. Being moved by his determination (Well, in fact, she was just an avid reader of his fan-fictions and wanted him to write full time …) official Shen Lu grants the aspiring author a system: The Lovely Writing System!

A short story by Asteria
Once upon a time there was a young girl named Asteria. Asteria was 20 years old and lived in Arcadia, Fairyland. While walking home from school one day, a gold butterfly jumped out from behind a rock and tackled Asteria to the ground.
 But just when she was about to let out a scream for help, Asteria realized that the gold butterfly was only smooching her face, not trying to suck it off. At that moment, Asteria decided to keep the gold butterfly as a pet. And on the way home she decided to name her pet gold butterfly ''Celeste.''
When Asteria and her new pet finally got home, guess who was standing on the front porch? That's right, it was Asteria's mother, Esther. And boy was she surprised to see a gold butterfly following Asteria into the yard! 
''What in world is that?'' shouted Esther. ''It's a gold butterfly,'' answered Asteria. ''Dah, I can see that, Asteria, but what on earth is it doing here?'' said Esther. ''It's my new pet!'' answered Asteria.
 ''Oh you think so do you?'' remarked Esther. ''I wouldn't get your hopes up. You know how your father hates gold butterflies. But, well, I suppose you can keep him until your father comes home.'' 
And with that Asteria grabbed Celeste by the scruff of the neck and led her new pet into the house--even though she knew her father was probably going to dissaprove.
Once in the house, Asteria and Celeste played and played. At that point Asteria forgot all about Celeste having an unsupervised run of the house.
 That is until half way through her meal when Asteria was brought back to reality when she heard her father shout, ''Stupid Asteria! Get your bum in the kitchen...NOW!!'' With that Asteria rushed into the kitchen to see what all the fuss was about.
 When she entered the kitchen, there stood her father, Fritz, pointing toward the chair. ''Will someone please explain that?'' asked her father. 
Then, as Asteria followed her father's finger to where it was pointing, she instantly knew what her father was so upset about. There, smack dab in the middle of the chair, was the biggest pile of butterfly doo-doo she had ever seen!
 ''I don't EVEN want to know how that got there,'' said Fritz. ''But you had better get it cleaned up now! And you had better get rid of whatever it is that could have done such a thing!'' Well, knowing her father as well as she did, Asteria knew there was no sense even asking her father if she could keep Celeste for a pet.
So without hesitation, Asteria set out to find where Celeste was hiding. After a few minutes of looking, Asteria discovered Celeste crouched beneath the table that Asteria did her eating on. 
''Come on, Celeste, it's time to find you a new home. And hey, don't look at me that way, I'm not the one who did the dirty deed on the chair!'' scolded Asteria. ''Thanks to you I'll never get to have my own pet butterfly!! 
And with that Asteria led Celeste out of the house and down to the local store . They had a pet section and Asteria knew the owner would find Celeste a good home.
So after saying good-bye to Celeste, and thanking the owner of the shop, Asteria walked backed home and attempted to drown her sorrows by slamming down a half dozen honeys. But Asteria's pity party came to an abrupt end when her father reminded her about the mess she had neglected to clean up.
And lo and behold, midway through the clean-up, Asteria suddenly became thankful that someone else was going to have to do it from now on.
The End.
Asteria: Hahaha, how about that hooman? My story is a masterpiece, right?
Alex: ...
Asteria: Oi hooman. Why don't you say something? Don't tell me you've been so captivated by my story that you became speechless? Oh my goodness I didn't know I was this good! Hahaha, maybe I should just-
Alex: Hmph, good my ass! This story is so bad, that I don't even know how to explain it!
Asteria: What do you mean by stupid, huh? This story is a magnum opu-
Alex: You found a big-ass butterfly and made it your pet. Then you left it to poo inside your house? Bruh, can butterflies even poop? And then you sold the butterfly to a pet house because you don't want to take care of the butterfly anymore? Tsk, this is jsut a stupid premise! Argh, I can't believe I wasted my time reading this!

A few hours later, once Fred went to sleep, Jessica disentangled herself from him and stood up with determination shining in her eyes. Since Kyro was so prone to mistakes, she had to make sure he didn't make any this time. 

If she knew her son at all, he would not have even went out of his way to say that he and the woman in the photo were dating. It would put expectations on him, push their relationship up a level, and he would not want that. 

'But I won't give you a chance this time! Since you like that woman, she must be special enough that I'll end up approving of her in the end, so there's no need for me to meet her before making sure you stay with her!' 

While thinking about that as she sat on the terrace, her lips curled into a wry smile. It wasn't like she had much of a choice between meeting and not meeting. If she went to look for the woman instead of pushing her and Kyro together straight away, they might separate before she even had the chance to see anyone. 

That was exactly what had happened with that Jane girl! 

In her contacts, Jessica found a number she hadn't called in a while. Kyro would not like her butting in, but she couldn't let her possibly last chance at a grandchild vanish into thin air. Her son was unreliable in these matters, so she had to make sure he wouldn't fail by herself. 

"Mrs. Hemming! What a nice surprise! I thought you've already forgotten about me," a pleasant young voice greeted her, laughter in its tone. 

"Ramirez, you're my favorite. How could I ever forget about you?" Jessica answered, smiling as well. 

Although Ramirez was little different from most journalists who would sacrifice a leg and an arm for a story, he didn't publish pure gossip. If he wrote something, it had at least a drop of truth to it. And he was always jubilant and easy-going, which made the highest levels of society unwillingly trust him and let slip a few truths they might not have mentioned otherwise. 

"But it's been almost a year since we last talked, I've missed you. How have you been?" 

"You want to write a story about me?" 

"Maybe…" 

Jessica laughed, shaking her head. "There's nothing to write about this old woman, but my son however…" 

"You want me to stir that pot?" Ramirez asked, his reluctance evident in his voice. "There's no point in me trying to save him now. His reputation is in tatters already." 

"Oh, that's not it." Jessica smirked as she motioned for Queen to come closer. The white princess gave her a sidelong glance and left. "I want you to see if that guy, Aniston, has any more photos of Kyro with the last girl. If yes, get them and write some sappy thing everyone will forget after they see it about how the big CEO has a girlfriend." 

"And in exchange?" 

This was the reason why Jessica liked dealing with Ramirez. Even if he thought a story would be useless, he was going to write it for the greater good: earning a real story. One could never really buy him, but he accepted being influenced for a price. 

He had his own moral compass and didn't care what anyone thought of it. 

"I'll tell you a few things about Lady Montell. Her daughter is pregnant, did you know? And there's no father in sight…" 

Jessica felt no guilt over sharing this, since in her circles everyone who wasn't your best friend was likely to share your worst secrets. They spoke with each other with this knowledge and it wasn't like Jessica hadn't suffered from this herself. It was only natural. 

"Juicy!" Ramirez chuckled, and Jessica could just imagine his eyes begin to shine. "I knew I could always trust you to give me something good." 

"Always, but get me that story before I send you any details." 

Satisfied, the two of them ended their call and went their separate ways. Jessica returned to her husband who was taking his afternoon rest and fell asleep as well. 

They woke up around three o'clock, but didn't get up. There was nothing they needed to do, so Fred picked up his book, and Jessica got her manga. It wasn't as interesting when her mind raced with the possibilities of how Kyro might react, but she still pushed through one page after another. 

After half an hour of this, her phone rang. She grabbed it with claw-like fingers and ran out of the room. "How did it go?" 

"I've got two things to say," Ramirez replied, sounding a bit tired. "First, that Aniston is a total nutcase. He has hundreds of photos of Kyro, having followed him all the time. Second, why didn't you tell me that this was a real story? I thought you just wanted to annoy him, but this… Kyro is hot goods now, and a new story about him would totally sell better than any Montell scandal." 

There was a real story there? Jessica suddenly didn't feel that good. What story could there be? Had Kyro done something wrong? But no, Ramirez would have mentioned it right away. What in the world was in those photos then? 

"Send a few photos to me. I want to see them." 

Her phone beeped soon, and her jaw fell slack. In the first photo, Kyro was strolling through a park near his home with the girl. He was telling her something animatedly, his hand raised to point at something out of shot, while the girl was laughing, her dark eyes fixed on him. 

In the next photo, the two of them were standing by a clothes shop. The girl was dressed simply, but it worked well with her youthful appearance, and Kyro seemed enchanted as he was caught a moment before saying something to her. 

After that, they were in the animal show, moving about while holding hands, and even caught entering a house decked in flowers to the point that it couldn't be seen. In all photos, their attention was always on one another, and they were always smiling, laughing. 

Yet Jessica had no idea who that girl was. It was now obvious to her that Kyro hadn't been doing too badly this far, but he had never shared anything! What kind of son was he?! 

"Mrs. Hemming? You still here?" 

"Yeah… I didn't know there was this much material…" 

"Well, if I were you, I'd tell your son to be a bit more careful. So far Aniston hasn't done anything, but he has stalker tendencies. There's a difference between following someone for a time to get a story and stalking them 24/7 for years." 

"I will, send me the first draft of the story once you have it." 

"Thinking to check on me?" Ramirez asked with some annoyance. 

Jessica chuckled. "Oh no, I'm gonna forward it to Kyro to blackmail him. But don't worry, I won't let him know where I got it. Just personal matters, don't mind it too much." 

"Right…" 

In a few minutes, before Jessica could even return to her room, her phone beeped again. Ramirez had sent a picture of a doc file titled "Beauty and the Beast: Kyro Hemming Has a Girlfriend?". The title was probably going to change after an edit, but it was enough for Jessica. In the shot, there was also the photo of Kyro and the girl in the park while Ramirez had started his story next to it. Only a few sentences had been written, but they already promised a juicy article. 

Without any hesitation, Jessica forwarded the picture to Kyro with an attached message. [You can make the declaration first, or someone else will. This article will go live tomorrow morning, when everyone wakes up and checks the news.]
