Maybe about a little ninja who massacred his whole clan in the village except for his little brother for a lottery ticket. Which then decides to become a pirate in order to search for that

Xiang Wan felt an unspeakable amount of shock, bewilderment, and fear about the micro spy camera.
She had no choice but to stay on.
Fortunately, there was no other family member of Bai Muchuan at this villa. Nanny Li was sent by Bai Muchuan's mother to take care of him when he was transferred from the capital to Jin City. Nanny Li was an easygoing person. She knew very well how to get along with people in a comfortable, peaceful manner which saved Xiang Wan from a lot of embarrassment.
Morning.
Xiang Wan checked her mobile phone then continued to write her story. 
Afternoon.
She continued to write her novel then checked her mobile phone.
By dinner time, Xiang Wan looked at the pitiful 3,000 words she wrote in much frustration.
Xiang Wan was not an author who was able to stock up on her chapters. This was because there were too many things that she was interested in. Hence, she was easily distracted. With the police still investigating Zhao Jiahang's death, the case garnered more and more attention as time went by. Her review and comments section were even livelier than yesterday.
Her mind was full of worry.
She could not concentrate writing her story when the case was not solved.
Fang Yuanyuan: "Urgh, come on! You can coax others with such an excuse, but not me. Even before this case happened, you're not releasing a lot of chapters as well…"
Her cousin replied with contempt after looking at Xiang Wan's explanation on her mobile phone.
She tried to convince Xiang Wan to release more chapters to revive her novel while it was still attracting a lot of attention. But after failing to do so, she summed up another reason why Xiang Wan was deemed as a hopeless author.
Fang Yuanyuan: "Unpopular stories, lazy attitude, even the immortals can't save you!"

Fang Yuanyuan: "I've been hearing this sh*t from last year till now. Truth is, you're the one who's brainless, sweet, and innocent."
She stabbed Xiang Wan's weak spot unapologetically.
Fang Yuanyuan: "What's wrong with those novels about sweet and innocent protagonists? They can write so fast, release so much more, and get more money as well. One year is not even enough for you to reach their earnings for a single day."
Xiang Wan: "Fang Yuanyuan… don't insult me like that!"
She sounded weak and powerless in the argument.
Fang Yuanyuan: "Xiang Wan, wake up! People have to adapt to society. You're totally not suitable for writing online literature. New, strange, fast, feel good factor, eye-catching—these are the actual key points. People read books to kill time, not to look at a world classic!"
Xiang Wan went silent.
This was not the first time Fang Yuanyuan had reproached her for failing to grasp the market and audience psychology.
She had to admit. Fang Yuanyuan had a point.
There were times that she also wanted to change.
She tried her best to write her novel, but it still failed. She was desperate as well!
Xiang Wan: "I'm sorry!"
She ruffled her hair, her head almost touching the keypad.

The words on her laptop were like the demon in the void, stretching out his finger and beckoning to her with an evil smile…
Xiang Wan was stunned for a while before rushing out of the room.

Zhao Jiahang's death was unlike the deaths of the ordinary folks. He was labeled as a "billionaire", "philanthropist", "role model husband", and many more other positive "labels". That was why his death attracted a lot of attention from society. With the push of the various media platforms, it brought about an overwhelming amount of attention amongst the public that even the Ministry of Public Security was alerted. They ordered the Municipal Bureau of Jin City to set up a special task force to solve the case within a time limit.
Bai Muchuan was still the team lead for the special task force.
They were combing through the details of the case in the conference room and discussion was in full swing.
Bai Muchuan sat quietly on the side, looking at his mobile phone, and had not spoken a word for a long time.
Huang He sneaked a peek at him and saw that he was looking at Xiang Wan's novel—"Murder The Dream Guy"…
Cough! Huang He was a veteran detective. This Detective Bai from the Central Bureau was appointed to their unit as their captain, but no matter how good he was, the one who knew the best about the unit was Huang He. There were several rookies in the unit, and if they noticed that their captain was slacking off, it might bring about bad influences.
"Boss, everyone wants to hear your views," he asked.
"Oh?" Bai Muchuan lifted his head. "Has everyone finished discussing?"
"…" Huang He was unable to answer.
"Boss!" A young detective by the name of Tang Yuanchu stood up in agitation. "I think Xiang Wan is the murderer! The woman at the alley and the burning of dead cats are totally self-directed by her in order to confuse and divert our attention!"
"Hm, continue!" Bai Muchuan raised his chin.
"First of all, the woman, Er Niu, was dead about a month ago."
Not only was she dead, even her household registration account had been written off.
Er Niu was not a local. Her hometown was several hundreds of kilometers away from Jin City. That was the conclusion of the local police station where Er Niu had once lived.
"A woman who has been dead for one month appeared in Xiang Wan's neighborhood and almost knocked her down? That's obviously not possible. Same goes to that cat abuse plot."
"Next, there are a total of six moderator accounts for Xiang Wan's private QQ chat group," said Tang Yuanchu as he flipped through the documents. "These are the statements of the moderators. They claimed that they have never seen the plot outline about the cat abuse, let alone discourage the author to write about that! Yet Xiang Wan was able to specifically point out the burnt dead cats inside the trash bin outside Zhao Jiahang's neighborhood… Except that three cats have become two cats, the rest is exactly the same!"
"What does that mean?" asked Bai Muchuan.
"That means Xiang Wan is lying! She might not be the murderer, but she must be related to the murderer!"
"Why is it not the five of them who have lied?"
Is the possibility for one person to lie greater? Or the possibility for a group of people to lie greater?
For the five readers who had not seen each other before, would they say the same thing in unison?
If it was anyone else, the answer was obvious.
Hence, Tang Yuanchu could not understand why their Captain trusted Xiang Wan so much.
Bai Muchuan took a glance at him but did not explain anything. "What about the micro spy camera on Xiang Wan's door? How do you explain that?"
Tang Yuanchu met his eyes. "If she can tell a lie, she can tell another lie. So of course, she can divert the attention away by making herself look like a victim!"
Bai Muchuan gave a sudden laugh while looking at him. "So you're trying to tell me that a woman deliberately replicated a murder that's exactly the same as her novel? She killed a complete stranger just to let her novel gain popularity and then hold her book signing event in jail? Is she a dumb*ss?"
There was silence in the conference room.
The detectives had an enormous amount of work stress. It was normal for them to swear occasionally, so everyone was accustomed to it.
However, Bai Muchuan seldom flared up. This was the first time he spouted a profanity, and it was certainly intimidating.
Tang Yuanchu lowered his head. Even Huang He's heart almost jumped out of his chest when he heard that. "Boss, don't forget that Xiang Wan's a mystery fiction author…"
In other words, he was implying that she possessed a richer criminal and reverse logical thinking than most ordinary people. She could have fully understood how the police worked and orchestrated her act by matching the police's pace.
Bai Muchuan narrowed his eyes and looked at Huang He. He did not give him a reply.
Huang He was a little afraid of this new boss who had been transferred from ICPO. When his boss stared at him like that, he felt less confident.
"At least for now, we couldn't find a suspect who's more suspicious than Xiang Wan…" continued Huang He, "in any case, we should take her in custody to continue the interrogation…"
"Where's the evidence?" Bai Muchuan stood up slowly. "So we're relying on guessing to solve the case?"
Everyone was tongue-tied.
Bai Muchuan gave them a glance. "Why don't all of you just quit and become authors of detective stories? With your ability to make up stories, all of you are guaranteed to become sensational authors!"
Some coughed awkwardly, while some snickered.
"Er Niu is dead!" Bai Muchuan gave a snort. "How did she die? How's her social life like? Did she have a boyfriend? What did she use to do? Where's her background check? Has anyone done a field survey? And the five readers, what makes all of you think they won't lie? Is it really true that lying is tougher for the five of them than one person? What's the spirit of detectives? Find, the, truth!"
Everyone was stunned.
Bai Muchuan touched his pockets, seemingly searching for cigarettes.
The next moment, he stopped his action. Someone offered him a cigarette, but he rejected and turned to Huang He instead.
"Go to the forensics team and ask them to hurry up with their report!"
"Yes boss!" said Huang as he stood up.
At this time, a voice came from the entrance of the conference room. "No need for that, I'm here!"

Translator Review:
This is a novel encompassed with mystery, ethics, family ties, and romance. Of course, the highlights of this book are the murder cases. 
Although it’s a modern setup where none of the characters have a system or any other cheats, the Author managed to delight me with her writing, creative plots and a good pace without dragging her story. 
I marvel at the way the Author links up the clues and plot to explain the individual cases as well as paving the way to unravel the huge conspiracy behind the individual murders. Romantic plots are light-hearted so readers could take a breather from the plots of gruesome murders.
Frequency of release:  1 chapter/daily

TLDR: As with every end of a book, I will be taking a break and will resume posting on 12th November 2018. I know, it's a longer break than usual, but since it is the end of Act One, I think it should be justified... Oh and since this author thoughts is really long, it really is a too long didn't read, lol.

Hi there guys! Linodo here! WE FINALLY MADE IT!!! We finally made it to the end of ACT ONE!!! *Confetti pops!* Haha, that's right, these first four books are actually part of one act. I know, I know, if it took me about five to six months to complete one act, how long would it actually take for me to finish the entire story?! Three years? Five years? Or should I go full Oda and write it for twenty plus years?

Well, joking aside, I didn't plan for my writing to take this long. If you followed me from the start, you would have known that I wrote Book One in just one month during my semester break. Naturally, the chapter length and quality of writing have been steadily improving (at least in my opinion), so there's that, but the real issue that I have is time management. As a final year university student, school is my full-time job. The most important thing that I must focus on is my school, even if it means decreasing the release rate of Spirit Immortal. And let me tell you, it sure was a challenge. University courses were tough enough, now I have even less time to study and do assignments? There were even times where I just wanted to write an apology letter to you guys and drop the entire novel altogether. However, there was no way that I could do that. Why?

Because I love writing.

I don't know why, no matter how stressed I am, when the clock ticks ever closer to 11 pm, I look forward to when my chapter to go live so that I can see how you guys liked it. You guys don't know it, but there were many days where I would refresh my latest chapters just so that I could see your thoughts about the chapter. In fact, I might be refreshing this chapter right now! Hahaha! So don't be shy to leave a comment or a review about the novel. Let me tell you now, the fear of an author isn't a negative comment or a negative review, the true fear is that no one reads your work.

Before I go in depth about the things you guys really want to know, let me tell you a little bit of my background. As many of you already know, I am an avid anime fan and got into reading web novels because I wanted to read light novels (the source material of a significant portion of anime). To tell you the truth, I didn't like reading books growing up. That's why my English is somewhat lacking as compared to most authors. I did, however, love watching shows/movies/cartoons. I watched many Chinese/Hong Kong dramas, American movies when the K-Wave first started I'd even watched Korean dramas. But, my one true love was still anime. I grew up watching Inuyasha, Shaman King, Naruto, One Piece, Katekyo Hitman Reborn… The list goes on… 

The peak of my anime obsession came when I was about 13-15. Those three years, I probably watched like two-three hundred anime titles, and that's when my life really changed. I watched timeless pieces like Code Geass, FMA, Cowboy Bebop, Fate/Zero, Hunter X Hunter… I delved into comedy anime like Baka Test (which I finished reading on Baka-Tsuki), Daily Lives of High School Boys, Seto no Hanayome, Seitokai Yakuindomo, Niichijou… I had even watched Shoujo anime (even though I was not a young girl) like Seitoukaichou wa Maid-sama, Ouran High School Host Club, Kimi ni Todoke and thoroughly enjoyed them.

However, up till that point, watching anime was just an entertainment hobby of mine. Only after I was exposed to Slice of Life anime did my opinion change. I first watched Angel Beats, and when the ending came, I found myself in tears. I was amazed at how a single storyline could affect my emotions that much. Following that, I binged watch several Slice of Life anime. Air, Kanon and so on. One day, at the peak of my obsession, I discovered a little title called Clannad. I soon discovered that it was by the same company that made some of the titles that I'd watched before, so I went into it with some high hopes. And well, season one was touching, but it was well within my expectations, after watching Angel Beats and whatnot. However, Clannad had something that the other titles did not. A second season. Curious, I thought, well why not?

Boy, was I not prepared for that fucking second season… Clannad: After Story destroyed me. If any of you haven't watched it, stop reading this post and go watch it now. I don't care if you drop my story, I'm just content that I had enriched your lives by letting you know how awesome After Story is. For the first time in my life, after watching a series, I felt empty. I felt as if there was an endless void that ripped my heart in half and that feeling lasted for a solid week. Ever heard of feels train? Clannad: After Story is like getting run over by the feels train while the conductor used the feels bat to hit you every single second. So, once I was finished griefing, I thoroughly reflected upon my experience. How could a story, that had no living creatures in any part of its production, tear me into shreds emotionally? Then, I had an epiphany. It was all about the story. You see, all forms of entertainment that I enjoyed, movies, dramas, anime, manga, light novels, video games, they all had one thing in common. They all had a story. It sounds stupid to say, but it was something that my young mind had pieced together. So, a slight flicker of passion started to burn within me. I wanted to write stories that made people feel that way.

As I grew older, I started watching many more mature animes, like Kara no Kyoukai, Death Parade, Death Note that all had a theme of morality behind it. Instead of the emotional train wreck that Clannad had put me through, it made me question the existence of everything, something that very little Hollywood or Chinese/Korean/Japanese drama ever could. Also, let me shout out a little-known anime called "The Legend of the Legendary Heroes." Severely underrated in my opinion and I can't seem to get my friends to start it. Perhaps you guys would after reading through this post. :p

I wanted to be like Maeda Jun (writer of Clannad, Angel Beat and Kanon) and write touching and thought-provoking titles, and what better way than to write a web novel? Naturally, I'm nowhere near the level of Maeda Jun and the folks at Key, but I'm trying my hardest. After all, how could I climb Mount Everest without taking the first step? If I could make you guys feel even a fraction of what I felt after watching Clannad: After Story, then I'm content. 

So yeah, before this turns into an anime recommendation section, let's talk about the pacing of the story, which was a significant issue that had been brought up by multiple users. As a novice writer, I'm still trying to figure out when I should speed up the pace and when there should be more exposition. At the start of this novel, I had a more direct 'tell not show' writing style which is something that I am still trying to fix till this day. Furthermore, I feel that my writing has a systematic structure that had been ingrained into me due to my numerous years of schooling and learning how to write reports, essays and whatnot. That's why I have been reading multiple successful author's works, trying to find the best style that fits me. Trust me, I have been researching. I read many successful works and analysed their styles. I took time off going to social events just so that I could read/write more. After all, I want to improve my writing. I want to deliver the awesome story of Spirit Immortal (I'll get to that later) in the best possible writings to you guys. In conclusion, my writing style still is a work in progress, and I hope that you could bear with me as I continue my experimentation.

Okay, now that the soapy stuff is out of the way, let's discuss the actual story. This is something that I don't often do in Author's Thoughts or any comments in general as I am not a good secret keeper. I'm afraid that I might accidentally divulge everything, in an accidental comment or otherwise. So I'll try to be very careful here.

The theme of Act One is family. Or to be more precise, what is a family? This is something that I had deliberated on for years, even before I decided to become an author. In Chinese culture, there is this saying, "Blood is thicker than water." I'm sure many of you who are frequent readers of eastern fantasy have come across this quote. However, one day I asked the question. Is blood really thicker than water? Why is it that just because someone is related to you, they must be closer than anyone else in the world? That's how the idea of the orphans came about. I wanted to explore the relationships between children, who have no clue about whether their related or not, and see whether they can be as close as real family. Furthermore, I wanted to see if the adults that adopted them, in this case, the First Elder, the Instructor, etc. would treat them as if they were their own children. And I tried to show you guys that they genuinely loved for the orphans, albeit in a flawed way.

Let me give another hypothetical example. A child was adopted as a baby by a foster family. The child was loved for, cared for and even treated as the most important family member by those who had no blood relations to him. However, one day, when the baby is grown to be fifteen years of age, the biological mother demands that the foster family hand over the child back to her custody. Is it truly right? If we're going by the doctrine that "Blood is thicker than water," the child should be reunited with his mother. However, she is no longer part of his 'family.' There had been no ties of love, memories shared or anything that could bind the two together. The foster family, which had treated him as their own son, is now his true 'family.' That's why when Shin found out about the truth of the Awter Clan, he didn't go full on rage mode and vow to kill everyone who had the Frie Clan's blood. It was because even though he is the heir of the Awter Clan, in his mind, he had no ties to it. 

Junius, on the other hand, is the polar opposite. He loved his family and would do anything in his power to reunite the orphans with their rightful 'family,' those that shared the blood of the Awter Clan. Although his purpose is righteous, his methods are flawed, which led to the unhappy circumstances in 'The Unfulfilled Promise.'

And now… We are finally addressing the elephant in the room. I'm sure many of you who read the last chapter are just dying to wait for me to talk about this. The deaths of Ariel, Lily and Linus. 

When I planned out the entire story, this was the turning point of everything. Ariel's death. The promise that had been made in chapter one will forever remain unfulfilled. I had actually run into some issues when I first started to write book four. A problem that no author should have… I didn't want to kill off Ariel. I had grown too attached to her antics, and I wanted Shin and her to remain together and become some sort of power couple. I had even toyed with the idea of re-planning the story from scratch just to keep her alive. However, the more I thought about it, the more it would ruin my beautiful ending. If Ariel lived, the ending wouldn't make any sense. So, I stuck to my guns, and I wrote the initially planned story, as much as I didn't like to. I'm sure that there will be many who will dislike my choice to kill Ariel and might even drop the novel altogether. And that's fine. I can't force you to read my story anyway.

I'm sure you guys can tell that I try my best to avoid the Wuxia/Xianxia cliche storylines that follow the same arc over and over. The future of Spirit Immortal is unknown, even to me. I will be starting my internship soon and possibly, a job offer might come. Once I have the job, there would be so much less time for me to write so I don't know if I can continue my daily releases. I just love the story too much to just walk away. I will try to finish the story within two-three years, but as it stands now, I don't know if that's a reasonable estimate. Whelp, I guess this is the end (for now at least). I remember back two months ago when I was writing my first work, the fanfic for Chojusen, I said something along the lines of  "I want to be known as the dumb dumb Author who finishes his novels and doesn't quit just because he "fell off..." And as I reflect on the decision I'm making right flipping now, I'm just as disappointed in myself as you guys. It's just, I'm not quitting because I fell off, rather, my lack of taking off in the first place is what's destroying what little motivation I have for writing this novel.

I don't know if you can understand what it's like to watch as the days go by and your work never makes any progress. What it's like to see other novels take off while yours is abandoned. Now, hopefully I don't offend any other authors on the site with words like the ones I'm throwing around right now, if your novel has taken off its more likely than not that you are competent as a writer and your work is deserving of its attention. I'm probably just coming off as a whiny bitch for being unsuccessful in my first venture as an original writer and to an extent, even I agree with that sentiment. It's just, I what to express myself in as open a manner as can be and realizing my frustrations through writing like this is what I feel helps.

I'm pretty sure I contributed in a large part to why my novel is so unpopular. I mean I started off with a message to everyone that it wouldn't be updating for a while and even after coming back I had to take another stop to go to Cuba. I give my own novels sub par review scores and even admit that I have no confidence in them. To anyone with even a modicum of logic, these are red flags and I'm not surprised that many people have turned away from reading.

However, for the last two or so months I've released almost 200,000 words and 112 chapters. And for the better part of those two months It's felt like I've been writing for no one. Sure the view counts update by the everyday and my collections count increase as well. But it's truly depressing to see only three or four comments per chapter; even though they are extremely appreciated. Honestly, if it weren't for the two or three people a see coming back every day — even if it is just to say "thanks for the chapter" — I wouldn't have made it for this long.

Even back when I was writing the other novel, where I would get things about the canonical story wrong or when I made a decision that didn't sit right with some of the readers, getting mean/harsh comments would be infinitely better for my motivation — and I'm assuming other authors as well — than just silence.

Well, that's enough of that nonsense so here's what I've decided to do. Writing this novel, even before I began publishing, is grating as I feel no confidence in my skills as an author and that has only further declined with how little interest the novel has amassed over the two months. It's gotten to the point where I literally write to meet the quota I set up for myself of 1 chapter a day and for bonus opportunities like power stone incentives. (Wait this is still rambling! Sorry...)

Anyways, the problem with motivation is more impactful than you guys can imagine as I literally know what to write next and how the story should progress, but just sitting before my computer and trying to type for what I've already doomed to failure causes distractions to magically manifest; like when you have homework and just so happen to find a dozen videos you'd much rather watch than do your duty. 

Thus, I'm deciding to not "drop" the novel and only put it on hiatus for now. Maybe if I become less whiny in the future and my career as an writer doesn't tank, I'll return to continue updating the story… But for now, I think I'll move on to enter in the webnovel weekly contests and write stories that gain an actual audience. If all else fails, I can somewhat confidently say that I'll return to this story eventually as I'm done with its outline and whatnot. The only thing I ask of you is to forgive me for wasting your time like so many other authors who don't finish their work and to remember that I'll eventually come back to finish what I started; maybe not now or in a year but eventually, I'll come to finish this story… 

P.S. I'll be writing under another pseudonym for a while, else the bad reputation I just created might come to haunt me if I do get successful. So, if you're still a "fan" of either me or this story, sorry you won't be able to find what I'm working on for now… (The characters I write might be dense and stupid, but I think this shameless move is the most pragmatic.)

(I didn't backspace once except for the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors so it's kinda my true feelings)

I wanted to give up writing this novel since it was way too hard, just with the 500 word count and 20 chapters. 
But I WANTED to, but I did not.

Why? On my final days, I saw those comments, the "first fan" comment and such. The whopping 5,900 views got me shook. I'm not sure on what to do with this novel since it contains some sweet comments and it seems too heartless of me to just delete this. So I hope someone can instruct me~ I'll change the abbreviation and add (OLD) before it so it doesn't get confused with it.

On the 22nd of June 2018, I'll be uploading the rewritten version of this story.
It focuses more on personality, idol struggles and some fun stuff ^^

Each chapter ranges from 1200 - 1500 words - Which I'm dissatisfied about.
I feel like it is a major improvement from my usual 100-150, then 200-400 then 500-600 word count - it was hard.
I wanted it to be 2300 - 2500 words, but simply - I'm not capable to write that huge of an amount.
I was sad, I tried. But I could manage only 1400 words approximately. But as I wrote, I realised the chapters got shorter. (800-1000 words)


But I'm not vulnerable, I won't give up. I'm not gonna expect anything, but... I feel like success might be near if I try well.

The release schedule will be as follows.

1 chapter on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Auxiliary or Bonus chapters on Sunday (It won't be consistent though). Info chapters will be random.

The first release will be having 2 chapters, which actually totals to about 2900 words.

I'm not sure how far this will go, because stories like this can have endless possibilities but that makes it harder. It's so hard to make it out of trope ;______;
I decided to add a lot of character development and I decided to showcase some of my skills as a small script writer.

Fuck, I can't believe I truthfully answered all those questions. Nie Chang will be laughing his ass off by now! Damn this! I'll pay him back!

Be able to communicate with different tribes in different languages. All these abilities could still be enhanced if a person knew how to develop them. There were three ways:

1 way - eating berries, roots, fruits, plants and their combination with others (later called alchemy and folk medicine). This path made it possible to raise their abilities to 30 percent of the possible.

There were probably other methods, but Li-Ban did not know the teachers, did not know how to improve this and did not want information leakage. He rarely showed his superpowers, but as they say aptly. Thanks to this, the entire genus LI flourished for all 1,500 years. True, his descendants have already lost the opportunity to receive 500 percent strength, but they could raise it to 49 percent.

Of all the techniques, over the course of 1500 years, the Li family retained only knowledge of Alchemy and slightly improved the treatises that Li-Ban got with knowledge of modern pharmaceuticals.

In theory, the author planned to write 100 chapters, there were many different ideas. However, apparently the author is not very good, was able to reflect this in a text block.
