She cares for him but hates the way she does.  He is always on her mind since that day. But in contrast, he hated her for that. She wants to make it up to him but he avoids her like dirt. Sometimes he is good, sometimes he is the worsest. She hated how unpredictable he is and how he messes with her life. But she loves him, and she doesn't want to admit it.

That was in the last year of middle school.

Ria wakes up early on her first day of school in junior year. Bringing a nightmare with her she goes to her school and found out Keith and her will be classmates. New sets of problem arises then. But is this going to be a hell of a year for Ria? Or is this going to be a chance to get close with Keith and clear some issues?

"David! Buddddddy!" yelled a blonde haired male, wearing a Left for Dead t-shirt and a loose pair of jeans, "You coming to the Dance Saturday?" he looked at David expectantly.

David stared back at him slightly annoyed. David was around 6 feet (1.85M) tall, with dark brown hair and sparkling blue eyes. He gave off the air of relaxed honor student. The blonde guy waved at him, catching his attention.

"Shin, I already told you, I'm going to be there." He nodded at Shin patiently. Shin gave him a thumbs up, before leaving the plaza where David was sitting. David was currently attending college in the United States of America. He was a junior at Texas A&M University, studying Advanced Mathematics. He was sitting under a tree, in a large plaza, reviewing his course material. The wind waved by, curling through the air, as David concentrated on his studies.

With a test next week and a major project due as well, David was trying to finish as much work as possible ahead of time. Mostly, because he wasn't the hardcore partying type, he figured doing his work ahead of time was a solid plan. He had the free time, so he might as well finish his important work first. He turned over a few pages in a folder, trying to focus on the numbers laid out.

David looked out around the plaza, gazing around. The grass on the plaza was a pleasant shade of green, giving off a warm feeling of life. Various students wandered around, some walking determinedly to their classes, while others were walking at a lackluster pace doing nothing. Some walked timidly and others walked proudly. One thing they all had in common, though, was the sense of purpose in their eyes. David saw it again and again as they walked past him.
He considered his own life story. David had been born to two loving and caring middle class parents. Raised with three other siblings, he was the second oldest. His older brother frequently got in fights with his parents, eventually ending up with him leaving the house altogether. Because David wasn't the most responsible child either, he was sent off to military school for one of his years in high school. While David considered it a valuable experience, in retrospect, he had very few fond memories of the place.

David saw all these kids, working so hard, and wondered what was the point of it all. What was his own purpose, he thought, wondering. It was a good question, one that very few people could answer.

Suddenly, a flash of light blinded him for a moment, and an oddly sibilant voice started talking. The odd thing about it, and what alerted him immediately, was that the voice appeared to be talking to him directly to his mind. David was shocked, disbelieving, unwilling to accept that some sort of telepathy could actually exist. David focused on what the voice was saying.

[ "Salutations. Welcome Planet Earth 18357144, Dimension Fire962, to the System. In a few moments, this universe will finish updating, and will officially adopt the System as its own. The 'read me' option on screen will inform you of any other information you need. That is all" ] Then the voice faded away.

Suddenly, a large glowing blue screen appeared infront of David. It was glowing and covered in symbols. At the top of the screen was his name, with a number next to it and a long looking list.

David was in a bit shock, remembering back to various novels and books that he had read. Several of them had situations that were sparingly similar to the one he was in now. Basically, David had a number of points to spend on things to help him power up in this new world. Except, he wasn't in a new world at all, he was still on Earth, sitting under a tree, on his college campus.

David quickly clicked on 'Abilities', curious to see what was in stock for him. His mind tumbled as he tried to come to terms with what he was seeing. He noticed several other students doing the same thing.

Suddenly, a list containing hundreds and thousands of powerups could be seen. David randomly clicked towards the middle to see what was in it.

A huge list of powers, spanning everything David could think of, from laser eyes, to flying, to psychic power to teleportation. He stared in amazement, overwhelmed by what he saw.
David suddenly heard a quiet buzzing sound. Looking sound for the sound, he noticed his phone was vibrating. He grabbed it, answering.

"Hello, David here."

"Duude! Are you getting this weird magic screen sh*t and stuff?! With all these points and powers, it's like we're in a game!" Shin's voice could be heard, eagerly talking. He didn't sound the least bit worried.

David nodded, saying "Yeah, I think you're right Shin. I have the same screen too, with a bunch of points and stuff. Have you tried buying anything?"

"It looks like my point count is above average" Shin said smugly, ignoring or not hearing David. "If you tap the number floating on the screen, it will give you some info. This stuff's awesome man! It's all real too bro! I see a kid over there flying man! He's f*cking flying man! What the f*ck!" Shin was practically shaking over the phone in excitement. He was staring at a young student; a kid in his early 20's who was zooming over campus, laughing happily.
David replied, "Hey man, let me call you back. I'm gonna see what I can figure out about this, alright?"

"Okay man, let's meet up soon. This sh*t's crazy, hahaha." Shin hang up shaking his head.

David took a look at his floating status screen, and tap the number containing his points. A smaller screen popped up, overlaying the first floating blue screen. It had a small paragraph with an accept option at the bottom.

[ Points are the currency for the System. Use these points wisely as they are not easily gained. The average number of points for a human is 25 and the maximum number of points is 10,000.

David clicked the circle one, he guesses that the circle one is a 'yes' and the 'x' one would be ofcourse a 'no'. Wondered what would happen, he was a bit disappointed. David looked around at the plaza again, wondering if other people were getting the same screen. He saw various students standing still, gaping at the air, others were poking the air as if clicking options on the screen. Apparently, what was happening was going on to every student in sight, not just David. He saw one kid suddenly bring out a light saber, a look of delight on his face. For some reason, however, he couldn't see other's screen.

David looked back at his screen and decided to see what was under the Physical Modifications.

As soon as his finger landed on it's point value, his screen shot out a brilliant light, buzzing around, and just as suddenly disappeared. His screen went white for a moment, and then faded back to blue. A pop up appeared.

[ Thank You for your purchase. Applying Physical Modification now ]

"Wait what?!" David exclaimed, annoyed, "I just wanted to read what the damn thing did! Not buy it!" he mentally groaned. If he had known he would have to choose by clicking, he would have gone with one of the cooler sounding ones, like a Demi- God or a-

David is a college student, on Earth, attending his third year of college. Suddenly, a blue screen popped up, granting people random points and allowing everyone to choose special powers. The world as he knows it has devolved into chaos, as Demi-Gods and Dragon Lords go to war, Vampire Counts and Werewolves battling against Ki Cultivators and Psychics. Terrorists go wild and governments collapse. Follow David on his journey, as he uses his unique abilities as a Life Orb Master to restore order, and discover what has happened to the Earth.

I don't claim that this story will be better than the original. I want to put some of my ideas on this story that's why I have put some little adjustment. I apologize for the OA. [FAN FICTION]

Update: Tuesday

"You could have called me once." My mother yells at me, "I was worried all night. I called your friends. I called your workplace. I was about to go to the police station..."
I don't reply to her. It's best if I remain quiet. She's mad at me for the things that aren't my fault. I get up and walk to the bathroom. She keeps shouting. If I retaliate once, it will get worse. 
Sometimes, I wonder when she and I became so distant. I don't know who my birth-father is. All I know is that she met him when she was in high school. When she found out that she was pregnant, he was nowhere to be found. 

She managed to finish high-school. After getting her diploma, she moved out of her house because her family wanted her to get an abortion. She started doing odd jobs. When I was twelve, she married my step-father who was my school teacher.

 Everything was good until she had a miscarriage when I was thirteen. It was my fault. I shouldn't have left those skates on the floor. She never forgave me. She ignored my existence for a few years. When things were getting better, my step-father died in a terrorist attack at a mall around seven years ago.
My step-father's death must have affected her a lot. She is still trying her best to get over it, but I know that she's in pain. She doesn't want to talk. I don't want to talk about it either. It's better to ignore the past. We can pretend that everything is all right. She and I have a peace treaty that must never be broken. 
Even after an hour bath, I don't feel clean. I am late for work. I hear her laughter. She must be watching a comedy show in the living room. I go to the living room to ask her if she had seen my wallet. She's sitting on the couch. I forget my question when I see the calico cat sprawled on the table next to my wallet and phone. 
How did it get in? Did it follow me here? The cat raises its head. "Meow."
"Mother, did you let this cat come inside?" I ask her.
She looks at me and says, "It came through the balcony. Isn't it cute?"
It's strange. My mother doesn't like cats. When I was young, she would never let me get a pet cat. Did it manage to melt her cold heart? That's a miracle. I shrug. Something is just not right today. It must be my paranoia. I already know that I have some problems. It's better to ignore the prickly gut feeling. 
10:15 AM. Nothing has gone wrong in my life yet. I hope that I don't stumble across a dead body again. What will the cops do? 
"Meow."
I glance at the fellow walking beside me. I wonder whether humans adopt cats or cats adopt humans. I am pretty sure that I have been adopted by this cat. I am broke. Maybe I can manage a cat since it insists on following someone like me to the corner bookstore.
"Nell, why are you late?" Mr Emerson grimaces at me. I have to bend my neck to talk to him. His blonde hair is matted to his scalp. He's wearing a bright red shirt and blue pants. 
"I am sorry, Mr Emerson. I overslept." It's not like I can tell him that I spent the entire night at the police station. "It won't happen again."
"I am also late because of you," He grumbles in annoyance. He rushes toward the door. He stops on his tracks and looks over his head. "You can't leave before I come back."
How long do I have to wait? I don't dare to ask. I give him a nod and watch him leave. I sit down on the chair. There's no one in the store. The reason why I like to work at this bookstore is that I like being close to books. I can read any book for free. However, I don't feel like reading lately. I close my eyes to get some sleep. 
"Meow!"
The cat jumps on the table and sits down. He blinks his green eyes, watching me intently. It's unnerving. If it keeps staring at me like this, it won't work out between us. I shake my head and say, "You should find a rich master. I can't provide for you."
Tring~
The door opens and a dark-haired boy walks in. He goes straight to the books on the shelf. I have been working at this bookstore for two years. I have seen him coming here for a few times. Mr Emerson knows him well. 

All I know is that his name is Eli Sanguine. He is around six feet tall, well-built body, and beige skin. He has dark hair and a tiny mole under his right eye. He always wears black. I can't guess his age because his body looks like he is in early to mid-twenties, but the look in his green eyes is timeless. 
In the age of e-books and book apps, not many people come to the store to buy hard copies except for the time when there's a yearly sale. It's easy to remember people's face if they visit frequently. Eli Sanguine would come to the store once a week to buy a recipe book or realistic fiction novel. 
Eli Sanguine places the recipe book in front of me. I guess he's going to try oriental dishes tonight. I could imagine him cooking with his beautiful hands. I scan the book. He makes the payment. It's done. 
In the last two years, we have spoken to each other twice -- the first time was when the card machine wasn't working and the second time when I greeted him a merry Christmas out of politeness. 
Like always, I meet his amber eyes and smile at him. It's something that I have to do as a book store girl. "Please visit again."
He doesn't reply as always. The door closes behind him. I look at the clock. 
3:46 PM. 
I doze off again.
Tring~
It feels like I have only closed my eyes for a second. I look at the new faces. I could tell that they aren't going to buy anything. The two high school girls loiter in the corner and pretend to check out a few novels. Then, they go to the magazine section. 
I sigh. Time is passing rather slowly today. 
Mr Emerson enters the store. He makes a face at me. "You are still here."
Didn't you tell me to stay here? "Mr Emerson, did you have a good day?"
"It wasn't bad." He exhales, seemingly exhausted. "I met my son today."
He never talks about his personal life. What should I ask or say? His eyes tell me the answer. It's better to be quiet. 
"I am closing this store and moving away, Nell." He gives me an envelope. "You should find another job."
I have no word. Did I just lose my job?
"I am sorry, Nell." But he doesn't look apologetic. Rather, he seems like a withered man who suffered another blow of life. He couldn't care less about me.

 I should ask him what is happening in his life. I know that he won't answer me. We aren't close. Nothing will change even if I ask. 

"Mr Emerson, are you okay?"
"It's not that bad." He gives me a half-smile. It's only for less than a second, but I see his eyes turn red. It must be my hallucination again. Should I visit a shrink? 
Never mind. I put the envelope in my pocket. 
"Goodbye, Mr Emerson."
"Goodbye, Nell Solomon."

The president of GH Media—Ms. Jeong-Sook Shin gave a call to Gun-Ho after she received the announcement of GH Mobile's recent job appointment.
"How do you want me to handle the job appointment of GH Media, sir?"
"President Shin, you handle GH Media's job appointment. I won't get involved in it."
"GH Media is a startup company. It's way too early for us to do any job appointment or relocation at this point. I am thinking of adjusting our employees' salaries by reflecting inflation and pay increase."
"It's your decision, President Shin."
"I am planning to raise GH Media's employees' salaries by 7%. Fortunately, the Japanese translated book—'the person who wakes up in the morning' is selling very well now. It maintains steady sales."
"Haha. Well, again, it is totally up to you, President Shin."
"And we made a contract for the sale of the world history cartoon series of thirty books which is very popular in Amazon.com. The people in the publishing industry are astonished by the contract because of the amount we invested in it. But I am certain that we will succeed in selling this cartoon series. We already started translating the first and second books of the series."
"Hmm, really?"
"Also, your salary was being sent to you starting this month as a managing director of GH Media. I am not sure if you verified it."
"Really? I will check it later."
"Once we raise our employees' salaries by 7%, your pay will increase accordingly as well. Haha."

When Gun-Ho got off the phone with President Shin, Director Jong-Suk Park entered the office.
"What's up?"
"Haha. This 10 million won is a windfall for me. I never expected to get this kind of money."
"Oh, you mean the settlement money from Egnopak's president?"
"Yeah. Well, if I can make 10 million won by getting 16 stitches on my body, I want to be beaten up once again."
"You are crazy."
"Half of this is yours, bro. You didn't get any money for your injury. Here, take it."
"You are indeed a crazy man. Take it back to your pocket."
"You spent a lot of money when we went to Seoul last time to see Egnopak's president's son. You bought a drink to Tae-Young Im and others and you also gave them some money too."

Gun-Ho headed to Asan City to the construction site of Dyeon Korea's factory. He used to drive to Jiksan Town from Asan City to visit the construction site when the current GH Mobile's factory was being constructed in Jiksan Town, but now he was driving to Asan City from Jiksan Town to see another new factory being built up in Asan City.
At the construction site, Managing Director Dong-Chan Kim was there. Director Dong-Chan Kim was recently promoted from a sales director position and he was appointed to the Dyeon Korea location as a managing director.
"Sir, you came."
"Oh, you are here too. I guess you were wondering how the construction is going since you will be working here soon."
"Right. I am now focusing on Dyeon Korea."
"Dyeon Korea's business is important, of course, however, we still need to focus on GH Mobile. I was told that the sales manager quit GH Mobile because he was not happy with our recent job appointment."
"He won't do well even if he gets another job in another company."
"What about Mr. Chang-Hoon Seo? He is now working in the sales department as a manager."
Manager Chang-Hoon Seo was recently promoted to a manager position in sales. He used to work in the general affairs department as an assistant manager.
"He is doing very well. He should have joined the sales team earlier. He wouldn't have been able to fully use his skills in the general affairs department. He is good-looking and he is very good at communicating with others. He is already very popular among our vendors and customers. He told me that he seemed to have an aptitude for sales."
"Ha, really? That's good to hear."
"Oh, I met with the former vice president of S Group the other day as you asked me to. We had lunch together."
"Where is he living now?"
"He is living in Bundang District now, but he said he will move to Suji in Yongin City soon. It seems that he bought a new house there."
"I see."
"His youngest son is in the first year of high school, and his new house is located in a very good school district."
"School district?"
Gun-Ho smiled bitterly. He thought that since the parents consider a school district as one of the important factors in choosing their residence, the son would be able to get an admission from a decent college within Seoul.
Gun-Ho thought of his high school years for a moment. He didn't want to go to school because he felt so embarrassed by his shabby sneakers. His high school was not even in a nice area.
 
Gun-Ho then thought of Egnopak's president's son—Dong-Hwan Kim. He didn't look very smart or decent, but he graduated from USC and he was working as a managing director of Egnopak in LA. What about Egnopak's president's daughter? She was a college professor in Suwon City. When Egnopak president's daughter was having an expensive private tutoring when she was in high school, Gun-Ho was working part-time at a convenience store to make money to buy new sneakers. They had a different starting point in life, and the gap in either social status or wealth became bigger and bigger as life went on.
However, Gun-Ho was dealing with Egnopak's president in an equal position. Egnopak's president was someone who Gun-Ho couldn't even talk to, years ago. That was because Gun-Ho had accumulated substantial wealth now.
"You seemed to be lost in thought, sir."
Gun-Ho just woke up when Director Dong-Chan Kim talked to him.
"Oh, I was just thinking of my old days…"
"Sir, I will have to go see a client now."
"Oh, so the S Group's former vice president is still using the same cell phone number, right?"
"Yes, he is keeping the same number."
 
The three selected workers of GH Mobile came to Gun-Ho's office before they would leave for the U.S. for the training. They flushed with excitement and also anxiety.
Two workers whom the former chief officer of the research center selected were the lead researcher and senior researcher.
"Dyeon requested us to send our three best workers for training. Accordingly, you have been selected by our directors and managers including the research center's former chief officer."
The three chosen workers were listening to Gun-Ho courteously. Gun-Ho read the personal data of the three workers. Director Jong-Suk Park was 33 years old while the lead researcher was five years older than Jong-Suk, and the senior researcher was one year younger than Jong-Suk. Jong-Suk had extensive hands-on experience in the field, but the other two researchers had way better qualifications based on papers and they were highly knowledgeable in theory.
"Dyeon is a global enterprise. I hope you use this experience wisely to learn their advanced technology and make this opportunity a valuable experience in your life. Well, it seems that the senior researcher studied in the U.S. as an exchange student and he had a TOEIC score of over 900. Mr. Senior Researcher, you probably speak English very well, so please help the lead researcher and the production director during the stay in the U.S."
The young senior researcher rubbed his nose; he seemed to feel shy.
"Well, that will be all. You probably need to start packing. You can go now. Oh, Director Choi, did you already prepare the travel expenses for these workers?"
"Yes. They will calculate the expenses in detail after they return."
"It is good that Dyeon offered to provide an interpreter for our workers. They will communicate with us through GH Development's secretary—Ms. Yeon-Soo Oh since she speaks English fluently. Ms. Angelina Rein from Dyeon will be the one who usually contacts us. So, if you need anything, Director Choi, please talk to Ms. Yeon-Soo Oh."
"Understood, sir."
The three workers left Gun-Ho's office after giving him a 90-degree bow.

This is the story of a poor young man whose poverty even shreds apart their family willing to climb his way through society and into the top. A very realistic novel that moves away from fantasy and sci-fi and focuses solely on the issues of society and life.

We had dinner then we changed into a short light blue dress, the top half of the dress is tight against my skin and the dress is strapless, the lower half is lose and flowy. I put on my pair of white sandals. I did my hair into a top-knot asymmetrical lob. Hair styles really have some weird names not gonna lie, but that's what we call them. It's a half up half down look with a messy bun at the top of your head. I normally always have my hair in a pony tail or a in a bun except for vacations that's when I do my hair that way I can take pictures. Even though I always have the pictures on a camera and not on my phone just for the memory books I like to have. I don't have any social media either so I have no place to post pictures or share what I'm doing other than with myself. 
I have a lot of memory books though. I have a box of them in the room and then a box back at my room where I grew up. The ones at the apartment were bought by John or my uncle. My mom never would spend the money on it and she said they were pointless so I kept them hidden away so my mom wouldn't ever find them.
We left shortly after I came downstairs. The guys put all of our stuff in the car and then we left. The car ride over was peaceful even though we were all being loud and laughing since we were all excited for our trip. We got onto the plane as always and took pictures once we had gotten on. The other posted pictures on there social media pages. They were basically famous, as royals they always post stuff to keep people up to date. The entire school follows them on Flash. Along with people outside of just our school because they are high ranked and are royals.
Flash is the biggest social media platform of well all time. It's the only real platform other capture which is far out of date. The government control that there aren't any other sites as its easier to track movements through one source then many. On Flash you can post pictures and comments and caption. Telling your followers what you are doing or your mood. People can like or forwards or tag other peoples accounts in them. You can also post on your story if you don't want the post to be something on you page for more then 48 hours. You can also delete any of your posts or comments that you don't like, if not you post something and it's to your account and not your story it will stay there unless you or the cite removes it. They only remove things that are illegal or could start an uprising assuming they catch them.
Our school has over 2,000 students in it, we have over 600 students in each class and most of them have students from other schools following them as well because they knew the people in middle school and they are trying to keep up with there friends or sometimes even with other school to see how they compare. They also follow to compare what they are doing during the year or over breaks and low-tiers always follow and share the accounts with there friends to brag about one school royals being better than another or to show how beautiful or handsome the royals are, because we all workout all the time and stay in shape so they all kind of look like models, verses the people that aren't royals they are all build a little differently than us for the most part, although we have other people at the school who aren't royals but look like they could be models as well. In all honesty though royals are basically gods to everyone in the school because they are a powerful group of people and powerful individuals, we are all considered untouchable to all the other students. Until it comes to other royals then it's like gods fighting each other or at least that's how I used to view it when I wasn't one. The thing is we are just normal people who happen to be stronger than most other people. The trip went by quickly though, we went snorkeling in the clear water and took pictures at the beach and we took a sail boat out the one day. We had a fire on the beach one night. The days and night seemed to fly by like it was nothing. Me and Hunter left the resort the one day and went out to some market, there was a lot of exotic animals where we went all of them were sale, there were some I had never even seen before. Hunter ended up buying me one, I saw it and fell in love immediately. It is a wolf tiger mix. It has a wolfs body for the most part, it's legs are bigger and it's paws are bigger as well and have retractable class. It's tail is also a little longer and it's bigger than a normal wolf. It's still only a baby though. It has beautiful golden eyes and is white and black, it has the tiger stripes along with hints of oranges around them but it's face is all white. I named her Maze. The person said she was only 5 weeks old, so it was just old enough to be taken away from her mom. That day when we went back to the resort Logan said his mom had called and that we aren't supposed to go back instead we are going to the island his uncle owns and we are supposed to wait there until told me can leave, he said something happened but his mom wouldn't tell him what. We all knew we couldn't do anything about it so we all did as we were told. We were supposed to leave to return home the next day but instead flew out farther to a location that didn't have any islands that you could see at all. We had all bought more clothes from the store before we left and bought new soaps and some foods that we were going to take back to the school that we didn't have in our country.

That doesn’t mean our daughter will or that they will come for her.”   “Brandon she is made up of 4 different peoples genes 3 of which are males from all different tiers, if they don’t come for her because she’s an elemental they will come take her because of that. It means that children can be born with more than one ability and can have a higher chance of scoring a 10. They will take her away to experiment on her or to make her into a weapon. We can’t let them do that.”
“That won’t happen. John is the Presidents right had man and is in charge of the military and all the police he’s the top general, remember he’s the Chief Justice now. He helps makes the laws and is in charge of making sure they are carried out. My brother is also chief surgeon at the hospital and became a highly decorated general during the last war. None of us will let anything happen to our daughter.”
“But is her life really something you are willing to bet on and risk?”  “Of course not Lexi!”
“Exactly so we have to do what’s best for her and until we know we can truly protect what is best is to keep her abilities hidden away from the world. That way she might have a chance to be a child and get to grow up and maybe one day have a family.”

Leylin did not feel the slightest bit odd. Despite any pretenses, the atmosphere in the academy was very different with such a huge war imminent. Besides, a large number of talented Magus acolytes going missing would definitely rouse the attention of others as well.

Moreover, the academy didn’t seem to want to hide this news. After all, they would still be relying on the official Magi for the upcoming battle, and these acolytes would not be of much help at all.

Those that were left behind would definitely be those with the lowest aptitude and levels, only there to be used as cannon fodder.

“Mentor Harosi has already cleared out the area around the school of Beastmen and any creatures who would pose a problem. They have been all reduced to skeletons by spells, especially the Beastmen, and their souls have been trapped in their bodies to suffer for eternity……”

Leylin gave a slight nod of his head. It seems like the vicinity of the academy was safe for the moment.

“How about the other Magus potentials?”

“Very troublesome! According to the news that my other sisters have gathered, many of the acolytes with high aptitudes, including Chester and Sherpa, have all left the academy for various reasons. I’m afraid that it won’t be much longer before this news spreads……What did you find out?”

“My senior, Merlin, already left a few months ago! Furthermore, I, too, will take on a mission and leave soon!”

Leylin blandly spoke of the news he had gathered, and this made Neela’s face turn even paler.

“What about you? What are your plans?” Leylin still asked her at the end.

“I plan to return to my family. You know, although my Welter family is not very famous, we are still able to take care of ourselves. Do you want to come with me?” Neela clearly wanted to rope in a talent like Leylin for her family.

“No thanks! I have made plans for myself already!” Leylin smiled, turning her down. He would be subjected to various contracts and restrictions if he joined a family. However, he had too many secrets and was not suited to having an entourage.

The light in Neela’s eyes dimmed. Leylin also knew that their relationship had come to an end. After all, they had just been enjoying themselves, but going their separate ways now, in a time of crisis, was very normal.

“There is still something that I have to ask of you!” Leylin took out a black-coloured wooden box and placed it on the dining table.

“What is it?” Neela smiled, but it seemed rather forced.

He opened the black box. Many potions in test tubes were neatly arranged inside, and the sight dazzled Neela’s eyes.

“This is……” Neela’s mesmerising eyes let off an astonished look.

“These are the potions that I have accumulated until now. Help me sell them off!” Despite crossing his fingers, Leylin’s expression remained calm.

Of course, this was only a small portion of the potions that he had secretly brewed. Saying that it was his accumulation after a year was reasonable; their total value was several hundred magic crystals.

Letting Neela sell them for him was because Leylin didn’t want to be conspicuous. On the other hand, it also provided her with a little compensation.

After all, a trace of chauvinism still remained, deep in his heart. Breaking up would require him to give some form of compensation at least, and letting Neela be the middleman gave her a chance to earn some profits.

“No problem! Right now, the values of the various ingredients and spell models have fallen sharply, while potions and low-grade magic artifacts have drastically risen in price.” Neela’s eyes flashed.

This was a normal occurrence. Spell models and other materials would definitely decrease in price whenever war was imminent, as they could not be used to improve one’s practical strength immediately. “After selling these potions, just give me 300 magic crystals for them!” Leylin sipped the hot cocoa which had been resting on the table.

Neela’s expression was a little complicated, “Of course it’s possible. In fact, my family could just buy them all! Do you have more? I can let my family know and give you a fair deal……”

“These are all the potions I have accumulated in the past year! You should know, I still need to rely on selling potions to obtain resources. If not for the market doing well right now, I wouldn’t let them all go in one breath like I am doing now!” Leylin’s expression seemed extremely earnest.

“Alright! I will do my best to help you!” Neela understood. In her eyes, Leylin brewing these potions nonstop and having such a collection was already the limit with his current ability.

As the two of them had their own worries, the meal that followed was not very appetising for the both of them.

After the meal, Neela hurriedly bade farewell to Leylin. Leylin entrusted some people to bring a few messages to the people that he mixed well with as well. He did not mention any details and only gave them subtle hints. Whether or not they could uncover the plot was all up to them.

Neela was extremely fast, and she handed Leylin a pouch of magic crystals the very next day.

After giving it some thought, Leylin decided it was better to spend his magic crystals while he was still at the academy. After all, he might not be able to find a trading depot outside, and even if he did, the resources there may not be as complete as what the school has.

This departure would most likely last an extended period of time. Leylin made preparations for his advancement outside. He prepared to buy ingredients to brew reactive elixirs and spell models available. As for any knowledge that a level 3 acolyte might require, it had been stored in the A.I. Chip since long ago.

However, the knowledge provided by the professors stopped there. As for the advancement to an official Magus and the basic information for a Level 1 Magus, the knowledge was heavily guarded by the academy. Only level 3 acolytes who have signed a contract with them would have the right to access them.

Leylin headed to the spell models’ shop first.

“What do you want?” The attitude of the old lady behind the counter was even more vehement now. However, Leylin’s good mood didn’t waver. He already knew that those level 3 acolytes had failed in advancing to an official Magus and they had signed a contract with the school, to stay behind and provide basic services. Due to the restrictions in the contract, they could not run even if they wanted to. With the impending battle and the collateral damage that would be inflicted upon them, it would be weird if they had a good attitude!

“Apart from Umbra’s Hand, I want all of the basic spell models for the Shadow and Dark elements!” Leylin put on a very magnanimous air.

The old lady behind the counter looked at Leylin in surprise. After all, such a wealthy level 2 acolyte like him was rarely seen.

“There is a total of 13, for 130 magic crystals.”

“I also want the Basic Transfiguration spell model!”

“That’ll be 140 magic crystals then.” The voice of the old lady sounded from behind the counter.

Leylin nodded his head and poured a bag of magic crystals out onto the counter. The lady counted them and put them away, after which she carried 14 spell books over. Each of them was as heavy as a brick, and they stacked up to almost Leylin’s height.

“It seems like I should buy some horses as well!”

Leylin hired a few servants and got them to bring the spell model books back into his room, and then he returned to the trading area.

At this moment, the trading area was one of the few places that were still bustling with people.

The number of acolytes who came here had also increased. Many premium goods had been put up for sale, attracting the attention of numerous acolytes.

“It seems like even the acolytes have noticed.” Leylin mulled.

It was similar to how, in the forest, a small number of animals would sense danger and take flight before a huge disaster befell them, but other animals would naturally follow when they saw the animals leaving, even if they did not sense any danger.

“However, there are still no magic artifacts here.” Leylin felt a little depressed. He had always wanted to own a magic artifact, but they were just too rare. Moreover, the prices were sky-high, and they would end up in the hands of a Magus every time they appeared. He walked to Woox’s store, which he was familiar with.

Right now, it was crowded with acolytes and they bought any potions that they saw, in a very forthright manner.

Woox was so busy that he was sweating, and had even employed a few acolytes to help him. Such a scene was definitely not common in the past.

Leylin looked around. The potions on the shelves sold very quickly, many empty shelves were labelled as sold out.

Woox’s eyes shone when he saw Leylin. He called an acolyte to fill his position, and especially went to receive Leylin.

“Hey! My dear Leylin, I heard the cries of a skylark today, and I know you will definitely bring good news. So? How many potions? I can give you 10% more than usual!” Woox greeted Leylin cordially and looked at Leylin as if he was looking at a magic crystal.

“My apologies.” Leylin waved his hands, “I’ve been busy with missions, so I haven’t been brewing much recently!”

“This is indeed a tragic piece of news!” Woox sighed, “You don’t know know how good the market is these days!”

“Alright! Alright! I came here to purchase ingredients.” Leylin said and handed a list of items over to Woox.

After Woox received the slip and looked at the scribbles and quantities required, his face changed and bean-sized sweat droplets begin dripping down.

“So many raw materials! Let me see, White Crystals, Purple Vine Radish Roots, claws of a Ghost Goblin, are you trying to brew a Reaction Elixir?” The fatty asked straightforwardly.

“Yes! Indeed! I want to make preparations for my advancement. If you have any completed reactive elixirs in stock right now I’ll buy them off you. You can set the price!”

Leylin spoke casually, the formulas for the reactive elixirs could be found in the library and many people have seen them before. The fatty being able to recognise the ingredients was nothing amazing.

Underneath the reactive elixir ingredients, Leylin had also added the many common ingredients needed for the Azure Potion and Tears of Mary. As for the few important ingredients, they have already been extinct in the Magus World for several hundreds of years, so Leylin did not even bother to write them down.

“The brewing of reactive elixirs is extremely complicated and the success rate is also very low. The demand for it is so high, and they immediately sell out once they appear. How could I still have stock left?” Woox shook his head.

“At least, you Potions masters are better off, you can brew whatever potions you need by yourself. I remember that when I was still a level 2 acolyte, I committed so many crimes just for a bottle of reactive elixir!”

Nasike was seated at the edge of her bed arranging her books and other necessities she carried from home. Her high school years were trouble-free. A quiet person, all she wanted to do was get through the system and get done with it. The complete opposite of Khalayi, she never understood why she had to fight a system that could not be fought. Yes, she had the resources, the parents and the money; however, she felt that such fights were meaningless. She came to school to study and as long as she made it to the top 10, the system and other school details were balderdash. She had a life to live; it did not matter whether it was within or outside a set system. At the moment, she was thinking of heading to the library to assess the books she would need to borrow for that time. When she stood, she saw a figure smiling at her with a mischievous glint at the corner of her eyes. Her elbow was placed on the edge of the cubicle's door, her body slanted slightly towards the hinges and her legs were crossed over each other. Her relaxed manner made her look like the owner of the school inspecting its progress in passing as opposed to its student. Nasike didn't think much about the student and greeted her as she headed to the door.
'Excuse me, could you please move aside so that I can close the door. Am the only one in the room and since am heading out, it is only prudent…', Nasike trailed off eyeing the student cautiously. Khalayi stood upright and then bent down to pick up her suitcase before heading into the room and placing her backpack on an empty bed. 
'Um, I believe that is Cynthia's bed', Nasike stated in passing, a bit uncertain if she might have interfered too much. She was unsure whether she could keep walking and leave the room open or insist on locking it up.
'It is now mine. You can head out. I have a copy of the keys with me', Khalayi replied, dangling the keys on her forefinger. Nasike raised her eyebrows inquisitively but still headed out, avoiding further conversation. The exchange and how it happened was not her concern. Khalayi smiled more as her target disappeared from her eyesight. How boring, I wonder what can move her to the edge. What could be her tipping point? Khalayi mused as she unpacked her stuff, humming 'am bad' by Michael Jackson. A rubber snake fell out of her bag and could have scared her if she had not known better. The sadist her negligently threw it on Nasike's bed and continued unpacking. Once done, she headed out of the room to get supper, closing it behind her. 
The dining hall was crowded by different faces she was familiar with, some in her year and others a year or more below her. She took her supper-the standard meal for every student, a combination of beef, rice, kales and a cup of mango juice. It was an improvement from the previous monotonous diet that leaned towards junk food with less dietary value. An idea leaning towards demanding more flitted through her brain but was extinguished immediately by the fact that it could be cliché'. The other students would not buy it. She was a crowd mover but not a miracle worker. An idea had to sale after all.
A group of girls at the corner ate, laughed and talked, catching up about their experiences at home. It was normal teenage banter, who is dating, who got what gift, who went where and many other adventures. They immediately went silent when Khalayi joined them. She smiled lightly as she sat down and scooped her food spoon by spoon. As if she had remembered something, Khalayi jolted, whipped her head up and inquired carelessly 'Dora you got back with Alex from St. Andrews?'. Dora seemed stuck but everyone else begged her to answer since it was the topic they were discussing before Khalayi joined them. 
'Um, yeah', Dora replied and was tempted to ask curtly if she had a problem with it but decided against it, knowing the comeback would at least sadden her and at most humiliate her. Khalayi continued eating after commenting that it was good progress too and turned to Angela to admire her tiny pink bunny key holder. Angela excitedly explained how and where she got it. The table was lively once again after 10 minutes, every person throwing caution to the wind, forgetting the bridges that had been burnt sometime during the previous semester. That was her power, or rather skill, to disarm everyone around her and make them comfortable. Bored with the conversation she deemed shallow, she begun planning on how to dampen the lively mood. Her plans took a pause when she saw Nasike holding her food tray while looking for a place she can sit. She hurriedly called her and asked her to join them. Although a bit uncomfortable, Nasike sat down opposite Khalayi and focused on her food, trying to minimize her presence as much as possible. 
Khalayi looked at the lady seated opposite her, eating quietly but not timid. As much as she wanted to minimize her presence, the silent confidence and elegance that exuded from her persona could not shelter her. On the contrary, it made her more outstanding. Her prolonged gaze caught the attention of her colleagues. 
'Khalayi, you got a new love interest', Cynthia, the colleague she had exchanged rooms with joked.
'Mmmmh, timid but not timid. That confidence is extremely admirable and not bad looking at all. Beautiful in fact. That aloofness pulls at my heartstring. I really want to play around and drag them about a bit. Is that okay?' Khalayi posed, the mischievous glint more pronounced, her eyes still set on Nasike as her folk pierced a piece of meat and threw it in her mouth. The look sent shivers through the table. It was not a good look at all, everyone thought as they thought of how they can escape her. Everyone except Nasike.

Chapter 33 Evil Book Part 5
Antiquing, in the upper middle class, is as good of a way as any other to prove your stripes. Parma and Artus Mus are siblings, brother and sister to be particular. Parma is the elder by ten months, He and his sister have a healthy relationship, some even describe it as in unhealthy one. They went to the same school. Took the same classes, when Parma moved out to start college, Artus fell into a sickening depression for the several months before she could follow. 
Parma spent six years studying to become a laboratory technician, Artus had hoped to do the same but ended up following a different path instead find she had a knack for veterinary medicine. The two of them found work in the town of La'sur, bought a house together not long after.
Parma tries to act the way a young sexy 'doctor' should act, bringing home girls regularly, he has a new live-in roommate every 18 months, but Artus is his true love, and there is nothing he can do to hide that. 
Artus has a passion for trying to look good in front of her community, to that end, the sibling spend their Saturdays in the summer searching for craft shows, estate sales and a fleet stores looking for anything that looks old and valuable to dress up their din. 
As the par dig around on a table of collectibles for sale at a craft sale in st. Peter, the next city over from La'sur, Artus holds up an egg-shaped glass doll "what's this thing?"
"Matryoshka" Parma explains.

"$20-$40" Parma shrugs as he shifts around some knitted blankets.
"looks like a mouse, I like it." Artus giggles.
Parma brings one hand up and tugs on one ear hearing an irritating sound mumbling nearby. Parma turns his head searching for the sources of the sound. The noise draws him to a bookshelf housing a few dozen leatherbound books with gold trimming.  When he puts his hand on a particularly tattered looking book wedged between a par that are in shockingly good shape the noise stops abruptly.
The tattered book has sunspots on the cover, water damage on the spine, and a sweat-and-sours stink is resonating from it. There seems to be no title, but sometimes older books don't have the title on the cover. Parma is about to open the old book to take a peek at the cover page when Artus yells over to him, "look, a bronze backed mirror." Parma tucks the old book under his arm following his sister.
Parma rubs his eyes dizzily after they have been walking around for some time, a whisper in his mind cohering him, pushing him towards unsavory thoughts 'long, thick, platinum hair, concaved stomach, tight ass. You sure that is your sister marshmallow? God, she has a nice backside, breast a little too high and tight for my taste but the rest looks fine.'
Artus notices Parma staring at her as she is leaning over a box of stuffed toys, she places her feet slightly apart and wiggles her hips teasingly "something wrong doctor?" she smiles looking over her shoulder at her brother.
"I think I need a drink, grab that mirror, and that wall scroll and let's call it a day." Parma rubs his eyes and hisses experiencing some level of discomfort.
Artus stands up straight approaching Parma concern heavy on her face, "hand me the keys, I'll drive us back." Parma nods hand over the keys to their truck. "oh, I also like that short bow. I think I will get that also."
The trip home is short and sweat, their house is one of the more beautiful homes on their block, on one end of their street is a church, on the other is a school, the house is on a hill, the church at the dale, the school on the crest. Artus is the type of person that can't help but bring her work home with her, the whole second story of their home is filled with cages and animals of all sorts that she has rescued, mice, rats, crows, cats, dogs, even a hand full of exotic reptiles.
As the two of them enter the house Parma's current partner is asleep on the Livingroom floor, she is a younger girl named Junny Elray, Jun for short; Parma picked her up at a barista. Jun is a poet; she is struggling like so many others to find real work in the field she loves, the truth being what it is the two of them find themselves in a relationship of conveniences. Jun needs a place to live, Parma provides that, and in return, Parma gets a girl seven years younger than him to mess around with, Jun gets to tell her friends she is with an older man that takes care of her, Parma gets to bost to his friends that he scored an artist. In the end, not that bad of a deal for anyone, and strange as it is seeing that Parma was honest about what was going on with Artus, Artus is just fine with the circumstances as well.
Artus takes Parma upstairs to get showered and relax, whispering echoes in the back of Parma's mind bringing him some amount of pain 'will you look at that, your sister has all sorts of fun stuff up hear marshmallow, I'm going to have all sorts of fun here.'
Parma looks about trying to find the source of the whispers "Artus, is there someone here outside of us?"
"Jun." Artus looks confused.
"no, I thought I heard someone else, an older woman maybe."
Artus shacks her head "you don't look good at all, take a shower and lay down."
Parma nods thinking about it. "I hear cats can transmit parasitic infections to humans. I hope I didn't contract Purple-eyed Broodsack from one of your cats."
Artus chuckles slapping Parma on the rump, "you work in a chem-lab, you are just as likely to have caught Rynfields Disorder from one of your co-workers." 
Parma steps into the bathroom, he wipes sweat from his face then steps into the shower. The disembodied voice that had been following him since the craft show nearly shouts at Parma 'Are you going to keep ignoring me?! You are starting to piss me off.'
"Who are you? Where are you?" Parma start to become distraught
  'Thank you marshmallow, but you don't need to talk out loud if you think in my direction I can hear you. My name is Eevee, I am a Shinigami, and I am here to bring your dreams to life.'
Parma whispers "Like some jinn?"
'something like that.' Eevee whispers to Parma.
Parma smile somewhat interested by the prepossession "ok Shikigami what are the rules to this game? what does it cost? What do I get? And what do you get?"
Eevee, laughs hideously 'Finally, someone that gets me.' There is a short pause as Eevee seem to think about it 'there are a lot of things I can do, but creating something from nothing is not amongst them, you tell me you want something, I need to go out and find it, or make it from whatever is laying around. I am a creature of the night, that is not to say I can't walk around in the day; clearly, I am here talking to you right now, but at night I am stronger. I am a transmuter, that should tell you a lot right there. I am here looking to have fun, if whatever you say sounds fun I will play along if not, you are going to have a bad time.'

Parma's eyes almost burn with greed, "Ok Eevee, show me how it works."
Eevee shrieks in laughter 'this is going to be the most fun I have had yet.'
Parma falls over in crippling pain; his hand twists into claws, he shrinks to about a third his height, a long thick prehensile tail springs from his tailbone, knees invert, fangs grow out followed by whiskers and a sharp snout. Parma crawls out of the shower and pulls himself up onto the sink to look at himself in a desperate attempt to piece together what has happened. Parma strikes the mist from the mirror to reveal he has become a monster that is something between a man and a kangaroo rat, pouch included. Eevee whispers to Parma 'A am going to drink your soul over the next three days, you are a dead man, but, you are going to have a really good time before I drink the last of the sticky soul juice form you. there is a jive ass wizard out there I am going to wack once I am done with you beautiful.' Eevee was banished to the mist by Loki and sealed in a book. But Parma has no way of knowing that. Eevee smiles, if Parma is as hungry as he looks, this marshmallow will give her all the energy she will need to break Loki's spell.
Parma has barely begun to process what has transpired before the bathroom door opens, Artus crawls on all fours into the bathroom in a matching rat like shape, her eyes wide and clouded. Parma jumps down to meet with Artus, it not yet registering with him that they are both nude and no longer human. "I,…I don't know what I just did," Parma explains.
Artus fail to replay; her eyes lock with her brothers as she places both hands on his chest pushing Parma over. Eevee continues laughing, her laughter becoming evermore hysterical. Artus crawls forth standing over Parma; her slick body rubs across him, one of her hands slides down his body gripping him by the crouch. 
Parma cannot resist his sisters advance; he doesn't even try. A bestial lust overtakes the two of them, Parma's hands find Artus back, he holds her to his body, once Artus has forced Parma into her body everything else fades into a blackout, only the need for lust remaining.
